Let's go. Welcome to another edition of the Major rewand the only show that
takes some of the best classic, ultimate and major moments from the Major Wrestling
Figure podcast. Rick Rich History and I put it all together for new and
old Major Marks to enjoy this week. Well, I had to do something
special for this week, so this episode's jam packed. I didn't even get
to put everything I wanted into this episode. It was so jam packed it
was stumped up. I had to let it be. But we got a
special one from the first time the boys launched the Twitch account. They did
a special recording, a special live recording of the Major Pod and this thing's
crazy. We got all sorts of guests, we got the we got the
first time ever appearance of TTD on the podcast. We got Boom Boom Cabanna
and also the Man, the fourth Man of the Major Pod, Swaggle.
He's all up in the house for this week. A super addition from Twitch.
Just a lot of fun stuff Swaggles and Naked Brosky. Read's a hilarious
review. This is good stuff, I promise you. This is what the
rewind is all about. And then we close it off a special snippet from
a special episode from a special man, Darren Rovel, the man with the
golds hand. You might as well call a midas because everything that he touches
turns to gold. And that's this week's episode of The Major Rewind. So
sit back, relax, and it's time to go back to the past.
Welcome everyone to the Major Wrestling Figure Podcast. We are live on Twitch.
I'm your host, Matt Cardona aka the Thousand Dollars Brosky aka the Michael Jordan
of Wrestling Figure collecting what is a Twitch? I'm still trying to figure this
out. I am your host, the most professional wrestler, Impact Wrestling Style,
the man that is bound for Glory this Saturday night, and the Scottie
Pippen of Wrestling Figure Collecting, Brian Myers. I'm also here, producer from
the show Doctor silver Balls, Esquire the Phil Jackson of Wrestling Figure Collecting.
I'm a little nervous. I'm very bro I have goosebumps. How do I
make this screen big? I'm seeing all these comments. I want to see
a big screen. I don't know. I don't know. We're figured it
out later. Guys, I'm not nervous at all. Hey, but you're
on Twitch all the time. I mean, not like this. This is
I got the full screen going, baby, I get the full screen going.
So this podcast is still even when we're live. Yeah. Brought to
you by Ringside Collectibles, the number one online retailer for all wrestling figures.
Guys, I'm very nervous. I mean, how many how many shots are
we gonna take that? How many times are we gonna stutter? I don't
even have a shot class here? Oh you should have, actually, I
do. We should have grabbed some white clothes or something. I do.
I mean to be we need a sponsor. We need We're not gonna drink
it for free. Baby, We're a business. This is the toy business
anyway. Ringside Collectibles we love it. Use discount code Major save yourself ten
percent at checkout, telling the Major boys sent you. We got a lot
of cool stuff planned. This is gonna be the normal show. We're gonna
hit all the normal beats, but but we're gonna be doing it a little
bit differently. We might we might have some things on the screen. You're
gonna be able to see the things we're talking about. We're very excited about
this. We're gonna get very interactive now, guys. We we kind of
soft launched the Twitch a couple of weeks ago. This is a hard launched
the the H A r D launch, if you will. So this is
not gonna be an every week thing where we're doing the pod for free on
Monday night, but we're gonna be doing stuff all the time on boxings.
Uh. I mean, Brian did a workout. I don't know if I'm
gonna work out on Twitch, but I'll do some my boxings. Mark is
a big on boxing, right. So yeah, coming up Thursday at eight
pm, myself, Max smash Master, your friend, and Dan Shepherd,
he used to write comic books. We're going to unbox the forty plus legend.
It's going down We're going to talk about the tires that the figures are
in, why I collected those. We're gonna talk about the nostalgia of X
men. It's gonna be great. That's that's Thursday at eight pm. Well,
guys, welcome to Good Housekeeping. Look, I thought there was a
graphic for Good Housekeeping. I got you. Hold on, I'm producing a
show in many different ways. Welcome to Good Okay, now it's official.
Now, guys, make sure you tell a friend, subscribe to the YouTube
channel, subscribe to the podcast, and subscribe on Twitch. We have no
idea what that means, but subscribe. I know it helps us. If
you subscribe on Twitch, please do that. Every week we give away a
prize to someone who leaves a major review. The prize this week good Old
signed major Mark magnet signed by me over my face. Thank you were working
to pass it along to everybody. Hopefully you can meet us and get them
all, don't I don't think that exists. Uh oh not yet. Maybe
maybe Broskey Before you do that, can I just say something real quick?
This is very important, this show, the Major Wrestling Figure Podcast. We
have a lot of people that help out and you know, while we're doing
this this special thing. We should also talk about people like TTD unsung heroes.
And wait a second, from across the pond to Witch, whoa,
he just tricked us because he said a d M saying like hello over there,
is it? Is it for the morning? Yeah? No, it's
just going one. I'll get a couple of hours with coffee. TTD for
those who don't know, uh, you know, he is the one who
designs all our graphics, who designs this backdrop, designs all these T shirts
everything. So without the action figures, So without TTD, there would be
no pod. So and this is kind of weird because the first time we're
actually like, I mean we have met before Burst, but usually just through
Instagram dyea, but now we're talking like this. I have a great question.
Like we talked about how we found you, because obviously you're very talented
in your art is very eye catching, and Matt gobbled you up very quickly.
But how did you find us, like our podcasts and whatnot to even
start doing stuff in the first place. Yeah, so I think I started
listing from day one. So I've only got back into wrestling figure collecting that
year, so early in twenty eighteen, and then when the podcast came along,
started listening and I think it was a bit of fan art. Let's
figure fav Yeah, so major mark from day one and then designs for the
pod. It's cool man, Yeah, I think you of the times that
we contact TTD like per day, you know, it's it's insane the stuff
that he does that. I mean literally the look of the show, the
feel of the show, it's all because of his designs and his artwork.
So it's so so cool. Yeah. Shirts, That's the most important thing
is that everything kind of you know, blends together, whether it be a
backdrop on a Twitch screen or shirt or figure, it has that same feel.
It's in the same universe if you will, which you know, it
only works if you have the vision, So thank you very much. And
most of the time I just kind of tell you what I want because I'm
creative but I'm not artistic, you know, And then you don't really even
have to you know, you just do it, and nine times out of
ten it's like perfect. I'm like, well, can you just switch this
little thing? It's like, I don't know how you do it, man,
It's incredible. Yeah, I've worked with many designers and and it's very
easy to work with TTD. So that's been great. Yeah, but so
TTD stick around for a minute, just through the giveaways. So so brokey,
why don't you continue on with that? Well, first, it's the
major review. So guys what we do every week if you're on iTunes,
and this is the only way it works if it's on iTunes, leave a
major review screenshot it, somehow tweeted to us using the hashtag major review.
Mark you do you have? There? We go w j boch l ho
oh man nail. I was gonna type this up by the way to put
it on the screen, but you forgot thirty two by the way, that
handle wasn't done. Bro His review is so good, Mark, you don't
have it ready to go on the screen? No, I do not,
hopefully don't. This is great, Mark, I don't have it like available.
Come on, it's like so long. I thought that you were going
to read it. That's the whole gimmick. Let me see if I can
find this. Okay, I found it. Wait, Bresley, you were
trying to get out of reading it, he was, And I thought it
would be on the screen for me to read well, hey, whatever this
is, can we can we can we curse on here? I just bleep
yourself, please, Yeah, where do you get twitch? Don't? Don't,
let's just stunt do it? Okay, Okay, give me a f
and Mike cut the music. You see where Big popa Pump comes to town.
All my hooches come around. Now while you fat asses listen up.
You need to start listening to these three guys. I promise this. Wait,
I promise you this. After listening to the show, you'll have a
sixty third at three third chance of spending money. But you think you only
have a fifty percent chance of actually doing it, But I guarantee there's a
one hundred percent chance you will. You got Mark Sterley, Doctor Silverball's the
Phil Jackson of the Wrestling Fear Collecting, the producer of the show and T
n T Star. He's lucky it wasn't Big Puppa Pump that he had to
wrestle in a w because I would have put his ass in the Steiner Cliner
and he'd be in the hospital right now. Oh this is actually Scott Steiner.
Okay, then you have the most professional wrestler, the sky Pippot of
recipe collecting Brian Myers. He's always on eBay looking like he's chewing that blue
chew because he's so hard for those ec W figs. Now we come to
the Major King, the thousand Dollars Broski. He is the Michael Jordan of
wrestling vig collecting Matt Cardona. He's big and all jacked up, but he
doesn't have the largest arms of the world like the genetic Freak. He's always
ready and always on a fig cut for those rare figs at Walmart and the
wrestling universe an eBay. So when you lose those thigs on eBay in a
bidding war and screaming a pain on the floor, I'll take Chlsea to Nevada
show screaming my name, the Big Bad Boody Daddy. So this goes all
my thick freaks out there, the Major Wrestling for your podcasts, your hook
up, and your hook up at Rinkside Collectibles, hashtag Major for ten percent,
Hollas him and then Siren Emos. I think my takeaway from that is
that I never thought the first person to actually refer to you as the Major
King would be Scott Steiner, the Big Papa Poto scores are not really Scott
Steiner, thank you very much for that review. You'll be getting this magnet.
I'll throw it, you know what, I'll throw in something else.
That was a good review, that was a great review. I'll throw it.
You know what, I got a signed retcho. I don't have it
here at the show. You know what a retro looks like. I'll throw
it aside. Reto with that. So thanks a lot for the review.
Well, let's say goodbye to t t TTD. We're sorry. We know
it's like four o'clock in the morning, but TTD we love the dead fed
his exclusive merch on Pro Wrestling tes dot com. What's the u r L
for that TTD wrestling plug? Yeah, yeah, Pro Wrestling ts dot com
Forward slash tv t TD Wrestling in the Morning. All right, real quick,
I gotta know where tt D come from because that's not your name and
I actually know that. Yeah, it started off as a different YouTube channel
with my kids. It stands for the Toy Dude Ryan Ryan TTD was the
other channel, Ryan the Toy Dude and then Toy Dude. I like that.
Wait those videos up? Yeah, you didn't want to watch that,
yeah, we got something. But no, But then I started doing more
wrestling figures than anything else, and then separate channel t TD Wrestling was born,
and that's top heavy eight t T These voice is so glorious, glorious.
I'm digging the amounts by the way seeing that. Yes, Oh did
he tell us about the emotes? They're up? Look at it? Can
someone use it? Can someone put all the emotes on? And then Mark
put some on the screen to him? Guys, what isn't emote? That's
why I said, somebody do a message with all of our emotes that you
can use. Oh here we guys, Oh wow, whoa my god,
here we go. Oh yeah, we got in the first tier. If
you subscribe to our channel, you got the major Pod logo, you got
the Stop logo, you got the Matt Cardona logo, you got them Brian
Myers logo, the f w F logo, Stay me Matt, Brian and
claim. Oh but if you're on the second tier, you get more ones.
Second tier, Uh, I forget what they are, but they're more.
I think Matt, it's swaggle. You can have swaggle one stomp Brian
stomp Matt. There's two more and then there's only one in the final tier
because we're out of emotes. Were we able to get Swagger's proportions in the
emote? Yeah, because it's great, gets a little off the he has
his little pecker. I wasn't saying that, Okay, so uh, and
I'll say this, uh. And we keep meaning to talk about this,
but if you subscribe to our channel on Twitch, you get these emotes.
We're going to add some more benefits as the time goes goes on for the
specific tiers. But if you are just a major pod person who doesn't usually
use Twitch, chances are you have Amazon Prime, and because who doesn't,
and nowadays Amazon Prime with their membership, gives you one free subscription for a
Twitch channel. Okay, so if you're not using that, if you had
no idea what I'm saying to you right now, you can use your Amazon
Prime membership to subscribe to our channel, use our emotes, whatever you want
to do. That's free for free. It's part of your membership. So
it's a great way to support our show for free. If this is the
only show you're gonna be used. Mark, I was today years old when
I learned about that. I know I keep meeting to say it on the
podcast. So t TD, thank you very much for the brother, thanks
for all you do, thanks for having me. Hey, my brand new
gear this Saturday, Bound for Glory is gonna be debuted. T tds the
man behind that. I'm very excited about it, looking forward to bro.
This guy here, one spirit is saying one free prime sub per month does
not automatically renew, So keep that in mind. That a little tricksy network
style there. All right, So YouTube dot com slash Major WF Pod.
We have so much stuff up there, whether you know, I understand a
lot of you guys might be tuning in like who are these guys? But
we have the history of the LJ and wrestling figures up there, the history
of the Hasbro, the history of the ECW and when we get to one
hundred thousand subscribers, we're almost there, Brian and I will do an incarnation
of Domination video showcasing all the Matt figures, all the Brian figures. I
can't wait to do it, actually because I'd like to see some of these
figures like up close and personal, because it's been a while. Yeah,
yeah too, I can't wait. And we actually need. So chances are
if you're listening to this or watching this, you subscribe to our channel.
So we need your help when we post or tweet videos, retweet it,
stuff like that. So help us get the word out to other toy collectors
people in the you know, in the collecting world about our channel. Uh
and then you know, then we'll get past one hundred and hopefully the vlog
that we just put up from California with Me, Brian and Swaggle. Yes,
if you read the comments, these people really think that we're like bullying
Swaggle. They have no idea that's our friendship and that he's our buddy bro.
I actually was looking at these comments and thinking to myself, like,
oh man, I think sadly, and I don't know about sadly, but
like that's the wrestling business, Like that's that's when that comes from. That's
not just us like you just like, yeah, you spend so much time
with each other, like you're like brothers, and you just bust balls to
like pass the time and kind of have fun. You know. It's not
malicious whatsoever, you know, and I think out of context, I can
understand how it comes across this bullying. But if you guys knew the stuff
he says to us and text messages, I'm saying I've seen some pretty step
one. So yeah, Matt's right in saying that. Yeah, and actually
in that video, nice little segue he showed off his what a segment.
That's figure face. Let's let guys, guys, I just want to you
know these buddies, that's dude. You're an innovator of the merch table to
have dog toys on your merchcase. I thought I thought you had a lot
of Hey, hey, hey, Mark, I believe I sold like six
of them yesterday, did I not? You know, it was a good
day. It was a good day. A lot of people love those.
I actually love those. Sign them on the back. Yeah, Matt,
it's nice that you didn't get you know, you didn't have to see Shammoo
or anything. You can actually do a podcast today, like you don't like
the Disney parks. You have the goddamn Muppets tattooed on your body. I
started with the Muppets. You didn't start with Shammou. Well, I didn't
go to Seawards have a funny joke. By the way, I finally figured
out that Mark for the record, Brosky blew us off for our FWF recording
asay to hang out with missus friends at the bars universe. It was Halloween
hard and I thought we'll explain it later, but it's like canceled, but
it's not, so I have to go, and uh that's why I went.
But Swagger, I'm glad we brought up those buddies because coming to YouTube
soon. We just announced that we're gonna do the history of the WWF talka
Buddies and we're gonna like yeah, and we're gonna like show like the WCW
Buddies and some of the jack stuff. But then it's all leading to this.
This is a real buddy Swaggle from Matt and Brian Buddies full size.
Well it's it's your actual full size like if you could really like, oh
not take the snake right here. But unlike your buddy has the no necks
like new Adam Cole figure I see, but unlike the Swaggle figures, there
is a back look at that. Oh good, these are coming. They'll
be available for the holiday season. Mark, can you show us the Brian?
Yeah here we go? Oh yeah, oh he comes with a bang.
It has never come up with. That's very accurate. Yeah, Knicky,
we want to thank Mike Kinnick. I think it's first age Mike,
and you're the worst. No, Knick is someone we have to thank the
chat right now. I can see him. It doesn't matter what his first
name is. His name is Knick. Knick. We we love Knnick.
He's somebody who he finds a lot of obscure merch for us, whether it
be uh, you know, foam items or you know, foam grenades.
And he's been pitching these buddies to me, uh for a long time,
and honestly, I was afraid they'd end up like foggles, you know,
like, so I said, hey, if you can get it done,
if you could talk to the factories and get it done and send us prototypes,
go ahead. And he did it his credit, So thank you very
much. Connick. I will second that I thought it was a test that
just couldn't be taken on. So I also thought we were gonna get Swapple
buddies. So it's wild. Yeah, so wago seriously are you naked?
Yeah? Actually at home? Thank you for coming on. Yeah, what's
next? What's next? Yeah? We gotta keep the show rolling, Okay,
come on, oh this bro Also on Patreon, we just put out
this week the the second edition of the Bendam episode. So I really liked
the Bendams because I didn't know hardly anything about the Bendams Truth be Told,
and I really really enjoyed knowing more about it and how much you has explained
it. It's going to dive into that. Yeah, yeah, no,
I was grounded too much. I couldn't get him. That's your go to
Like, wait, Dulan, you don't remember that paper vite, Like,
no, that's my that's really also, to be fair, his favorite wrestler,
his idol was unreleased in Dank. He wasn't. They never made the
Dink. That's that's that's his mortal enemy. Big. Yeah, I don't
see him. I see him at appearances. I don't like that at all.
Whereas he did he didn't. He did a con one time, and
he had he did Dink and then he kept changing, right, Minni Hogan
and then Minni Macho. I was like ouse d the Mini the Mini Macho
like Mantello. Dude. It was like melting. It looked like a melted
candle of macho Yeah, really weird. Yeah, macho midget he called himself.
He came out on raw that was like why he did it? Yeah,
but one time. Yeah, I don't remember him doing the mini Hogan
though. Yeah. I also yeah yeah season two actually announcement here is Swaggle
versus Dink they're gonna be doing. Did you know the Turmoil? First of
all, what I love about the FWF, and especially in the patron group,
is that the fans, it's really the Wednesday Night Wars. They are
really split. We really have to roll his own fans Turmoil fans. Did
you see that somebody made a one nine hundred Turmoil Twitter account? I saw
at one Turmoil. It's unbelievable that I don't know who's doing yet, but
the tweets they're putting up are wi Let me try to read some of these
to you, like this is it's it's a gift of like Hogan's mustache getting
shaved off. It says Hulk Hogan does the unthinkable, call one nine hundred
Turmoil now to find out what else may have been shaved. I can't even
remember when that guy when he got shipped. Please get your parents permission for
her call. We have the number one uh FWF fan in the chat here
are ready to go wfw Do you how do you have that cool background?
A bare minimum audio? Brian over? I have a microphone's off camera?
Yeah do I have? Do you think if I explain to you how this
works? Yeah? Just move on? Yeah? Whoever? Cool? Anyway
to the polls. I can't see you've got like an LJN back of the
box at magazine added or something. Well, of course I wanted to celebrate
my favorite era of wrestling toys, the LJN. Oh so good, so
like your voice is so soothing? That must be a really professional min oh?
Is it? Because I am also on Twitch and a podcaster of ten
years? That might be shout out for us? Baby? What do we
got Twitch dot tv, slash Cold Cabana. That's right. We could do
a little crossover. We could cross the streams a little bit. All right?
Well, first of all, A never crossed the streams. I know
that. And be Mark, Mark, you want to tell your story?
What story? Uh? So I switched over my old I switched over to
my old Facebook account yesterday because I completely for got about it and I had
messages from cult going back six days asking me to join his twitch and do
and play among us with him in some aw superstars. And he had been
messaging me for days and I missed him and I felt so bad and it
would have been great. It would have been a big a e W among
us stream, including the lawyer himself, the official lawyer. Yeah he was.
He was just trying to give you the rub and you said, well
thanks. I know. I felt bad and I made him feel bad.
What goes on? What goes on? A cult? Cabana's twitch stream Because
you don't play video games. I've been getting into video games. What yes,
shocking. He's not playing like Fortnite, He's playing I'm playing Fall guys,
I'm playing among us. I also do a lot of Jackbox Quiplash with
only wrestling answers. Is my favorite? Are you speaking feel like party games,
Brian? Like like you would actually probably enjoy playing these games, would
like not aditional video buttons? Yeah, anything like Aladdin on Genesis. Oh
my god, what a great game. That's all I ever cared about when
I was a kid. We were talking Kofy and I one time, we're
talking to Hawkins about video games and he goes, I gotta say, probably
the best video game of all time Aladdin. We looked at him like we
couldn't believe it. He was serious. It was good, but the best
time, I would say Tiny Tunes Adventures on Genesis. That's just like okay,
that was a good one. Thank you. Aladdin's great though. I
remember the cheat code for Aladdin was like Genie Jafar Aladdin Aboo and like that,
like one of the last levels. I'll never forget that. Are you
cheating bro win with some integrity? Man? No, I think like it
was like the code like because there was no you can like save games back
then, right or could you never know? No, no, you couldn't.
And if you wanted to save in Aladdin, you had to type in
the code to get to the level you were at. We love Johnny C.
Set you up, Brian, you'll play Aladdin live on Twitch. Whoa,
I'll take him up on that deal if he wants to do that for
me. Okay, Sudi boy, I'm shocked you're here. I was actually
pitching to UH to market we should have some guests, and he's doing this
all a surprise, So thank you. Literally ten seconds ago, I got
a text I said wait wait wait, wait wait wait wait you guys text,
but you were Facebook messages him to join the twitch. No. Actually,
if you notice in the stream, I had to switch accounts. I
switched back to my old account then sent him the message so from the same
Facebook message that he didn't answer for six Okay, wellk was on vacation last
week. I don't know if you do this. There was not. He
wasn't responding to me. He wasn't responding to the emails. Ten thirty at
night. Where's the picture of the figuring on a motorcycle? I got a
post about it. Now leave your wife and get alone. I'm glad Swaggles
on brand here with his clothing choice. He definitely did not purpose. Yeah,
I'm relaxing. I don't see why why I have to wear clothes in
my own house. Well, somebody knew we might get in trouble, so
really for being shirtless, I'm kidding, I'm kidding. That's it. I
lost. I am the bosch man. I'm the bosch Mankukucho moo. Damn
he's so upset. Oh that's upthing with Hornwaggle. I don't get that's why
you guys found the hornwoggle things so funny. I don't know because there's no
s I I let out like this evil laugh. Also, I don't know
why I can't really explain it. Yeah, hornwoggle is pretty great. You
see this? So horsewoggle? Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes,
yes, yes, his only turbuckle pad, which a makes no sense.
They do it for everyone. Mark could have been could have been Duing
Chocolate pro wrestling. He could have. First of all, he doesn't have
owned the name horsewaggles is illegal. Let's say I end it. That oppen's
too late. Uh so it says horne swaggle two words even though it's one
word. And then that says like the same color as the turbule, right
smell? Do you have it to hold up? Yes, I'll get it.
Yeah, where'd you go? He did say hold on? Didn't I
did? I did? You're right, I'm wrong, coming right here.
Oh, man, give us a full screen to that baby. What's a
horn? Battle? Man? I didn't even see that. Also also that
horn, I feel that. Oh and the horn is in a Disney font,
which must be illegal. Oh, the whole thing is at Disney five.
He was just dripping on me for going to Disney World. Maybe he
has Disney Fist in his logo already gone and I didn't make damn logo.
Well, did you approve it? No, I saw it that day when
I got there. Okay, then I'll give you a little pass. Yeah
I believe that too. Guys, we have another prize courtesy of Turtle Beach.
Jesus, it's another hold on. You knew that you hadn't revealed that
one guy, and he could have given it to me. This is all
true. Uh, text me afterwards. Okay, but I'm a wait for
this micro brawler bro yesterday yesterday got my other one. Text me after this.
I got something for you. This is a PS four one. This
is wireless. Turtle Beach is the absolute best. Uh, same thing.
You gotta answer this this trivia question correctly. The Ringside Exclusive edge Heads three
and one figure all my idea available now Ringside Collectibles dot com. Name the
pay per view and the year that that figure is depicting. Oh, let's
seems so fast last time? Oh I got it right here, someone got
it, but it went that's not its was pretty funny, That's it.
M. Grant and Grant two thousand and seven. Congratulations, so yeah,
so all right, well we got some good housekeeping guys. So many things
that're throwing off Broskey tonight. So uh, last week on the show,
we unboxed some of the new Target legends and their Target has been an absolute
mess with with pre ordering them, and then like Target has been cancer those
pre orders and delaying those pre orders and then they're showing up in the stores.
Ring Skirts on Twitter wrote wrote this, I thought it was really funny,
he wrote, collecting thought Target putting figures on the shelves before fulfilling pre
orders from months ago and sometimes eventually canceling. It's kind of like it's kind
of like Domino selling the pizza you ordered twenty minutes ago to a customer that
just walked in. And I agree, yeah, I mean it's I think
it's kind of bs that you pre order, you think you're having this and
I get it, like you'll get it eventually, but I do think you
should get it first and there definitely shouldn't be a chance that it gets canceled.
My target, My Target has a horrible selection as Yes, it's definitely
a distribution problems, just aj styles and then like one keeven oders that's like
every target and always a reckon, like three reckon figures at mine, even
though I don't I don't know. Yeah here it's the ultimate warrior from that
set. Uh. I just watched the promo back again so I could figure
out how to accurately to display him. And you gotta do the point finger
because that's what he's does at the very end, and it's pretty damn accurate.
Except he was wearing an open jacket, so it's not the it's not
the end of the world, you know, but like he's an open jacket
with a red vest, so it's not even open jacket with a plain white
shirt. I'm with you, Cardona. That really upsets me. So,
I mean, I don't know. This is a great figure, mckina.
You're going down for that. I do. This is one of the best.
So you worked with PWG. You get a pass man, you got
you got, you got street cred with mckena because you're a PWJ. The
fact that you just said his name, he is h A R D somewhere
right. He wasn't when he was making it when he left me out of
the Goldman series of Smack with Wrong. Okay, So can we talk about
this is kind of I love that in our follow up and like update sometimes
we update twenty year old figures, like how did this come up? And
yeah, it's a discovery I kind of always knew about, but didn't know
to the extent. The WCW Smash and Slam Goldberg. Okay, it's a
figure Goldberg's first ever toy bass figure. It was a little delayed in the
Smashing Slam line, like he wasn't in the original like ships he shipped like
on his own, I want to say, right. And it's kind of
strange because he comes with a masked wrestler who I use in f WF because
it's not ray Masterio. It's a it's a masked wrestler, but it looks
just like ray Masterio. But however, the Giant came with a mass wrestler
whose name was ray Masterio, so that is technically rain Masterio. This is
just a mass wrestler. I always thought that that at one point was going
to be ray Masterio and toy business just like, ah, that's this,
but let's use this mold we made, so you think that figure that would
have been raised figure, It's yeah, it's the same guy. Can we
can we put them up on the screen. Yeah, this one or the
other one. Okay, So look, let's let's go go one at a
time. Okay. So this one right here, I made this discovery and
I posted about it. Not many people knew this. There's actually two versions
of like the quote unquote ray one where he's like clearly bigger than the other
one. I posted the picture on Instagram and our social media. It was
like mind boggling to me, and then I was doing more research. There
is variants with with different belts. There is variance with like chest hair.
There's one where the raymis sterios in blue. There's there's a k B one
ers wearing a KB shirt. Uh the small hold on hold on the bottom
left one raymis Stereo turned into a silver thing. Hey, Mark, that's
Colossus's dumbbell from the X Men line. Yeah, but it's just crazy.
Technically there are six variants. There might even be more of really the same
figure. I guess the KBE was a little special one, so maybe five
variants of the same figure. Because those smashing slams they had some weird variants.
So my thing on this, I remember the flat and rounded belt from
when I was like actively collecting, and I obviously remember the blue and the
red, but I don't remember the figure being bigger or smaller. I had
the idea to use the masked wrestler in my fig fed FWF Cult's favorite show
because all accessories are legal, and I realized I had two of them,
Like, wait a minute, there, they're different sizes, Like what is
this so? And then I asked deep freedom, who's a complete psychopath in
a good way? And then a couple of hours was able to provide all
those pictures. Matt Cardona says, someone else is a complete psychopath, and
let's look at room behind it. Right, here's let's let's let's end it
with this. If you're a Ramis Stereo completist, do you know you have
these fis? No, because it's not raymis Stereo. Oh man, that's
so. This is my reasoning. This is yes, if you have you
have this figure in your hand, you're like, this was supposed to be
right, okay, Cult. This is why I'll say no, because in
the same exact set, the same series, there's a giant and he comes
to like a little miniature figure like that, but they call him Raymisterio,
and he's like neck elongates because they're giant, can him a choke slam.
So if they called that Raymisterio, why wouldn't they call this guy Raymisterio.
Yes, yes, it's a great variant to have it, like you know,
it's mysterio, It's that's mysterio. Yeah, it's a that's a weird
gray area for sure. And you have to get both red ones and the
blue ones and the silver barbell. Oh god that you mentioned. You mentioned
there were a kind of marians to those of all the figures or just oh
there's some wild ones if you really Oh yeah, there's like Lex Luger where
there's he has like red boots on, then the Lex Luger where has got
black boots on. Then Alex Luger where it's like skate like got skin tight
nWo shirt on, but like it's not even like NW. They're trying to
ride it inside his horrible It's like not the actual logo. It's like like
Mackenzie wrote it with a crayon nWo on his shirts where he's all ripped up
to it, like it looks real bad. Don't forget the Lex Luga where
he's a silver barbell. That makes sense. Actually, Yeah, there's like
Hogan with like the Hogan Tan, Hogan with a regular Tan. There's staying
with different faces and the Wolf packing and crow. No, I mean like
that is different. Yeah. There a Scott Hall black and red and black
and white, Macho black and white is the gambler with cards and without No,
No, there's a hole in one Barry Darso with with clubs. You
get what I'm saying, all right, So let's talk. Let's talk about
this. The the Cody aw Chase went on sale on ringside this week.
Cold. I don't know if you're aware of this, you know, are
you kind of aware of what happen? No, but I heard you in
the last podcast said MJF was the chase. And so I have a question
for maybe someone who's a little newer to the new scene, who's not just
holding out to their lgns. I've heard the I've heard the term chase variant.
I don't know what it is. Okay, So forst this is getting
good. So in series one, there's a Chris Jericho and a Cody.
The Jericho is out of one thousand. It has a nice sticker on it
and it's Jericho in like a different kind of outfit. So I have the
Cody right here. I'll show you. This is a one of five hundred
mark. We can go full screen. This is a very very rare figure.
So there's only five hundred of these, randomly inserted of cases of series
one, so super rare. Ringside Collectibles gifted this to me and went to
Brian for celebrating two years, hundred episodes, So thank you very much.
Yeah, somebody's saying Cody's going for five grand? What? Yeah, I
saw something on the internet today like that. I saw it. I saw
that a thousand, not five grands. I'm gonna right now. Is it
is? It depends. You gotta see what's the soul list things. I
bet you it doesn't even matter though, because that person might have followed through
with the payment here but questions. So, like the the Cody, there's
significant differences in the figure. There's a sticker that lets you know that it's
the Chase, and like Matt said, is randomly inserted in cases, so
like not every Walmart, no way is getting this, you know. So
the term chase means like you gotta run out and get it. Is it.
Yeah, you got you gotta seek it out, you know you chase
after Yeah, it makes it different. It's and they're all different like this.
This Cody has like that Star Trek shirt that he wore or whatever,
and yeah, Like like if I were you and you talked to Jerry Budowan
and you know you're coming out in a set, I would be like,
hey man, we should do a Chase store. I'm in my dark order
here and the regular ones in Michael Cabama, you know, traditional stuff,
right, and like yeah, yeah, you know put that in their minds
to like make it be like that, you know when I come out in
series four hundred and twenty. Roster is a big roster. Jeremy has said
that he wants to speed everything up, which is great, but about this
coach. So people were super piss uh so called. What happened was ringside.
Obviously they order these there. They are a specialty store. They can
do whatever they want with the figures that came in. So they got these
before anybody else. And in their cases, there were some of these Jerichos
and some of these codies and they held onto them. They weren't going to
randomly ship these out like This isn't Walmart, you know what I'm saying.
So they're gonna they were waiting, and they did a surprise drop on the
Jericho thirtieth anniversary and just put them on their site. They sold out in
minutes, and then people were so mad that Ringside did this that they were
that they charged I think they charged like ninety bucks when they were they're telling
for over five hundred, you know, so like people were mad that they're
charging over retail. People were mad that they didn't warn them that it was
gonna be for sale, Like it would have been crazy if people knew that
it was going to be a drop, right, So they did the same
thing with this cody for this week, and honestly, I have no simpy
if you didn't think this cody was going on sale this week. So I
just did my research on this cody. They're ending at like twelve hundred to
a thousand, and there's a decent amount of them that at the end of
that point maybe maybe ten or so. So Ringside was selling them for two
hundred bucks. But I mean, look how much they could have been selling
them for. You know what I'm saying, This is like, this is
like you know, John started ringside As as a teenager. This is as
company started from from the ground floor. This isn't Walmart. It's not like
he's he got all these figures from Walmart. It's like cherry picking the chases
and then selling them on the internet. Like this is his business. Do
you think he's throwing someone's on eBay under a friend's name. No, I
don't think so. Why why would you not do that? He doesn't need
the money. But the thing is a couple of people say I don't need
the money, but I'm still subscriptions. In his defense, there is like
an into his business, like hey, I got all these and I put
them up. You know. But people were again so mad about this cody,
like what do you really expect? Like there is no fair way to
do this, and guess what, no one's gonna you know, there's no
way we could all get it. You know. It's I know people are
mad that I have it, so you know, so it's hard for me
to say that. But trust me, I collect other things too where I
miss out all the time. This happens in the sneaker business, definitely in
the toy business, you know where stuff gets surprised, dropped, and anything
in this world is in demand. This is this is what's gonna happen.
I mean, that's just life. I don't know why. I never even
the demand is greater than the supply. But Jeremy Badower, if you're watching,
please moon the camera so I can kiss it, because you are a
genius for doing all this, because look at what these figures are worth right
now. People are going crazy over this, so too bad. Jeremy is
tirelessly working on that four hundred and twenty series Cold Cabana right now, so
we can't even look up to stop. What's the now? If there's like
a Kyle O'Reilly Mattel chase, is it known how many of that there are?
I think we're once stole one in four cases. So that's not even
close to what we're talking about. Okay, okay, yeah, that's like
my black single and blue. You know that it wasn't It's tougher to find,
but not like impossible like this. Oh I didn't even think about yet.
Like if you walk into Walmart and see one of these A W chases,
you've literally just picked up a winning lottery ticket. You better head your
ass to the register and paid the twenty bucks because wow, what are the
stickers? Like, do you have a visual of it? They have the
sticker. If you don't see this, I mean you can't miss it.
And people are like, you're not going to find that in store. They're
they're running for that right. Oh yeah, Like I would think it's like
old school style, like people there when the doors opened, the check every
day. But what about people that work at the Walmart Target? Yeah,
yeah, that's what I'm saying. It's like finding a winning lottery ticket,
like literally you did something like unbelievable if you find that. But Rob Ego
he posted in the Facebook group that there's a seller in Hong Kong who has
a bunch of these things. I'm sorry to pronounce that, Rob, how
do you spell the place? How do you sell on the place out Hong
Kong's there's a seller anyway? So my my my thought is are they He's
like faith If you follow any other toy lines, you know that these companies
over overseas are are copying and bootlegging like like Necka, Turtles or Star Wars
Black Series, and they're doing it almost so perfect. So the ones in
Hong Kong. Are these we gotta move on there? Like they are they
bootlegs or are they genuine? What I think? No, I think the
bootlegs five hundred who who a lot of I think they're stolen. Good is
what I think they are. That could also be true because they're way too
much effort to make a bootleg of that, right, Like if you're in
the factory and you're putting on that sticker, this is one of five hundred,
rare edition, you might keep ten of them, you know what I'm
saying. Yeah, there's some I smell collusion. Who aren't see these stickers
aren't numbered? It doesn't say like dred that probably doesn't help to see how
many one of five hundred stickers on there? Yeah, who's to say that's
that's like the that's like the Monopoly documentary to me, or like the Cannon
Griffey Junior card. Yeah, yeah, a rookie card. But I'm not
saying that's what's going on. But it's I just loved these figures. Just
the demands arounding these figures so far is great, Like you cannot find them
on the shelves, and I try to explain the people who aren't like in
the toy business that that is a good thing. You don't want these figures
on the shelves warm and the pegs because then Walmart might not want to order
series too. I think it's so cool. Okay, look at that.
By the way, big thanks to Mary Kate Tonight, who's officiating as our
moderator for our first big big stream here what Mary, kay give David c
Anderson a superkick or something to get that spot? I don't even know if
David is watching. Can I give you a Twitch recommendation after the podcast is
done? Yeah? You should. You should stay on and the proper Twitch
etiquette is to thank everybody that's subscribed and gave bits. Okay, well how
do you do that? Like you just say thank you or get you seal
the names? Who's the bit? Oh no, well twit Darren Rovel Now
Darren, listen, let's cut to the chase. You are the guy about
sports cards, about betting. I've been I'm not a sports card guy.
I followed because of the wrestling cards, but I've been following your social media
for months just your insight and what you've been posting. Uh, tell us
for the fans who don't know, give us a quick elevator pitch if you
will. I'm just who you are and why you're the guy that we should
be talking to about these cards. So I cover the business of sports,
did it for twelve and a half years at ESPN, six years at CNBC.
Now I'm at the Action Network, which is a sports betting media site.
And when you're talking about betting, you're talking about crypto, right,
because like these days, these days, like if you want to bet on
a game and it's it'll be over. But if you want to wake up
and lose eight to ten to twenty thousand dollars and be like, oh my
god, while I was sleeping, I lost money on crypto, I mean
that's betting. Sports cards is betting. Everything is betting today, and I
think some of it has to do with the fact, and that's why I
cover it. I've I've collected memorabilia for the bulk of my life. But
what's amazing is in COVID there's just something some part of the human condition that
in order to replace our normal human interaction, we have now replaced it with
having this dopamine that we need to fire into our brains like crazy, and
we are satisfied by winning an eBay auction, doing crypto and waking and that's
good bumping coffee, right, like we need to be juiced. We have
never had the as humans. I think this is the craziest time for us,
because if I would have told you a year ago, Matt, that
sports betting would be the calmest thing going, you'd be like, no way.
I'm like, yeah, no. So so we have the major wrestling
Fervor podcast we started about two years ago, and we're not in the wrestling
figure business. We're in the nostalgia business. Right, people that we say
scratched that figure, which they want to get that figure that they never had,
maybe the one they did have, relive, recreate childhood moments. And
we were when this pandemic hit, like, oh my god, like,
who's going to be buying this stuff? Our podcast is over, nobody's gonna
buy anything. We're done, right, who's gonna buy our merch? You
know? And it was the complete opposite. It's it's it's spiked like like
we couldn't believe. And then that happened in the sports card world as yes,
yes, you know it. It's it's crazy. I think what's interesting
is that there were a lot of people mom forty two, and there were
a lot of people from nineteen eight. From nineteen eighty five to nineteen eighty
eight, if you were a kid, a boy ages six to ten,
one hundred percent into wrestling. There was not a person who was not into
wrestling. And I think, you know a lot for me, it was
like okay, around maybe when I was twelve or thirteen, I left some
of that followed Hulk Hogan, by the way, like just kind of the
the arc of his career, and and and and I have not gotten back
to it until the last three or four months. So we are in a
place where the times are not great. Right, We're not going out again,
I said, there's no human interaction or it's difficult. And so how
do you harken back to joy? It's you go back to when things were
amazing and innocent, and you can see that in a toy or a figure.
And so what's happened is there's been a lot of new things that have
come about, where like sealed toys. So some people have kept the wrestlers,
the rubber LGN wrestlers from years ago, and they've kept them. They
can't get rid of them, and they feel like a hoarder. But they
just look at them and it just gets back to the old times. But
in the past six months there's been a real rhythm on Sealed to collect the
sealed figures and this is mirrored everything. So like a sealed iPhone one now
goes for eighteen thousand dollars, right, yeah, as sealed, I have
sealed music. I have it, so I play the memorability game. Like
once there's news that comes out that Marvin gays What's going on is the best
album of the last fifty years, I go by a sealed eight track.
Right, five years ago, I could have gotten one for three hundred.
Now people understand the value of sealed, and it costs me seventeen fifty,
So, like, you know, it's amazing. So I had to get
into Sealed rest my the LGN LJN Wrestlers, the original ones, and what
I found was just absolutely fascinating. Now I'm gonna say something. You tell
me if you agree or disagree. I think the value is high for a
couple of reasons. One, at the time, we didn't see these as
collectibles, so people were opening them and playing with them as opposed you look
like like the ninety eight ninety nine figures, they're dirt cheap because they were
overproduced and people bought them kept the box worth money, right the Jack's figures,
Yes, people kept them in which is the same thing as the eighties
star lineup. You you you you understood that it was okay to look it
was in the collectible in a box. So absolutely no one for Christmas or
Hanukah or whatever holiday was celebrating, got a toy and then didn't open it.
The only people who didn't open it. And by the way, if
you were a retailer for twenty twenty twenty five bucks, you're not keeping them
either. I mean money's money in nineteen eighty five, eighty six, you
know there'd be no reason to keep these. Same thing with the video game
world. I'm into video games now. Sealed video games are going insane,
especially Mike Tyson's punch Out in Super Mario. So like my my sealed video
game was the unlicensed pro Wrestling, so you know, and and and they
put it in a beautiful package, and you know, if it's sealed,
it goes crazy. So seals seals very important, and you're right. I
love to coll real scarcity, not false scarcity. You know, we're living
in this collectibles world where people are like, oh, it's the one of
one, Luca don Chich. I'm like, yeah, but you made it
one of one. Like I want something like I want to look at a
Hulk Hogan figure and be like, Okay, I couldn't believe when I said,
all right, I'm gonna get these sealed figures. I couldn't believe what
I found. Yeah, it's a crazy game, especially because those figures are
so heavy. Past that weight of these, it's hard to kill. Let
me tell let me tell you what I'm found out. Yeah, I want
to know what you found out. Okay, so I found out that,
And I'll hold one up in case you're you're using video. I don't know
if you're doing. Okay, so unpunched. First of all, the yellow
the bubble yellows. Yes, so the plastic yellows. So it's it's hard
to get one where you can really see the figure. Second of all,
the backs have not held up well. The corner are bad. There's some
sort of tendency to like mold in some way, Like I'm not saying it
was where it was stored. I'm saying that there's there's usually some dots around
here, so to get a perfect untouched bubble, And you're right, the
weight certainly has an impact on it. And then the fact that the glue
was not meant to hold up for thirty five sure at all. So I
mean, come on, it was meant to hold up for being in the
store for six months. So I got a question. Those price tags on
that, So that's what I love. Unfortunately, unfortunately, that's my question.
It's unpunched. It wasn't. So unfortunately this one had the price tag
ripped off, but it does say Kmart, so it was it was taken.
It was taken from Kmart. And by the way, the ones that
I wanted to collect are kind of basically the original of now Can Snuck and
Giant. Yeah, I don't know if you know it. If you know
this, you know that the original release of those come with little stands.
Oh really, and it's even harder to get. Yeah, so those five
base stand Yeah, so I wan, that's not that's not mine. That's
not the world that I know. And oh yeah, that's I did get.
I got the Jesse, the Jesse Ventura is just like, I mean,
come on, it's now. The the LJN's it was such a weird
time because they were in so many factories and mass producing these so much that
for instances like different Jesse Venturas with like a brown mustache, a blonde mustache.
It's crazy, I think. And you know what, Matt, I
needed to collect the ones that I remembered, so I did not remember the
Hulk in a like red there's a holk and a white shirt. A yeah,
so those were later released. Those were just in Canada. Yeah,
you know, so those the Black series. LJN loses the license and then
it goes to Grand Toys for about a year or so, and it's just
in Canada and those figures. I'm a kid at that. So I was
born nineteen eighty five, So in nineteen eighty nine, when LJN is going
to the tubes, I have no idea I'm missing Haku and Warlord. It's
not until I go to a complic. That's that's what's so awesome. And
so so like as cards are going crazy and you have all this real scarcity,
I am really starting to look into give me real scarcity, you know.
So I then build this ridiculous ticket collection and I found it. This
is the same principles. There were ninety thousand people in the Pontiac Superdome for
WrestleMania three for you know, how the hell has there only been five tickets
that have surfaced on people really so like and then and you have listen,
you're you have to pay the prices for the for the wrestlers, for the
for a good sealed hogan, you know right now. I paid twelve hundred,
thirteen hundred for that, you know, but I think that's just the
beginning. I'm used to getting in the sealed early. What's your what's your
intentions with those? To grade them or definitely grade? What do you got
their? Man? So this this I have, I'm we say let them
breathe on the show. I'm we I buy things, you know, as
a fan, I'm buying them to collect them display in my room. But
someone like the Macho man I bought a couple of years ago, and I
bought this for four hundred bucks, and that was expensive a couple of years
ago. This is a pretty damn good shot. That's at least that in
that condition, that's at least a thousand. Yeah, so it's just unbelievable
the value of these things in just a couple of months a year or so,
Like last year before the pandemic, I met up with someone for the
Hasbro collection the early nineties. I bought the whole set at once for like
ten thousand dollars and it wasn't a steal, but I didn't get ripped off,
and I was like, I'll just do it to have it all munch.
It's like ninety five ish or so, and again I have them all
out of the package mint, but I wanted them nice in the package.
Now, telling you from someone who you got to realize you're a first,
You're a first ground floor. That is an unreal deal. Oh and nowadays
now it's like, oh my god, I can't believe I only bought it
for ten k right, and the guy who sold his by kicking himself.
But if you see, if you see what's going on, I mean,
just from this again, let's just talk in general about the scarcity. You
know, I was the guy behind the Dwayne Johnson bub will be Tuna card.
You know, I'm sitting there in June and I'm looking at, well,
what cards can I buy it for? Cheap that just have real scarcity,
And I'm thinking, okay, well, Dwayne Johnson played on the nineteen
ninety four Miami team. They gave out twenty thousand sheets. He's not really
the Rock the Rock until two thousand, so you have a gap of six
years. Meanwhile, Ray Lewis and Warren Sapper in that set, people are
ripping those out. But when you rip those out, you're not keeping the
rest of the sheet. You're throwing it out. So I'm thinking to myself,
God, by two thousand and two, two thousand and three, when
it's really the Rock, and then when he's a movie star two thousand and
six seven, there can't be a lot. And I'm looking at the population
reports, and so I bought up one in a pesa nine, nine out
of ten for seven hundred and twenty bucks. And by the time people realize
it, you know, I sold it for sixteen thousand last week. Like
I mean, anytime, people are like, oh, it's gonna go up
more, and I'm like, no, no, no, I think thirty
X is not too piggish, right, Well, that's what it's about.
The tickets that the the WrestleMania, Uh, the WrestleMania ticket, which I
anytime I can find something that has crazy, you know, potential, real
scarcity. So like you know the the one page program from WrestleMania, Oh
my god, right, I mean it's cool as hell and and I mean
there can't be one hundred of these, right, What do you do to
like prove not prove, but like what are some of your steps when you're
doing the detective work to like figure out the scarcity of something. So one
is just really you really have to be careful. So for WrestleMania three,
for example, that's when you first started. I teach myself things, right,
So, like I bought something. I can't say what it is yet
because I'm not announcing it. But I bought something for one hundred twenty seven
thousand last week. And the detective work that I did to make sure that
it was what they said it was is like, if you're going to spend
one hundred twenty seventh then right, okay? And I mean lock stock.
And you know it was at a smaller auction and it's a it's an item
that will sell for two or three million within two or three years. It
was just stuck in the wrong what I do is I find things in the
wrong auction houses or the description isn't good enough, I arbitrage people's inexperience.
But but like so for WrestleMania three, that's when you started to have the
closed captioning and people are sorry, the pay per views where people would go
to different like the NASAU policy, and like, you just got to be
careful. Some guys said to me, I just bought you just said it
was their hardest ticket. I just bought WrestleMania three, and I'm like,
no, that says CCTV nassa coluge if you're watching what was happening in the
Silver Dome, and he's like, oh man, so I think you just
have to You just have to be really careful, know the details, know
what it looks like, which is extremely hard. I own a ticket where
there's only been one that has surfaced from nineteen twenty one, and it's like,
you know you better. It's a little bit harder, But this is
the game. This is what's fun. I like the chase as much as
getting the item. Yeah, do you think so? Matt and I have
kind of come up with this theory over the years that like more of this
stuff exists. It's just like die hard collectors are just kind of keeping it
close to the chest. I think more has been thrown out than you imagine,
like more, you know. I think about Michael Jordan Rookie cards and
now I had a PSA one, so one out of ten total garbage at
three three heads, like three pin holes in it, right. I think
about all the people that were like, once grading started, man, this
is garbage. I missed it. I can't believe there's a stain on it.
The cheapest Jordan, like a piece of garbage that was dipped in a
toilet is selling for forty I think people threw them out right because they were
like, ah, I missed it, you know. But if they waited
around until twenty twenty one, it's worth five thousand dollars, you know,
Like, but you would have never known that. I think people have a
collectible and they give up, right, they give up, and they don't
realize. So I think a lot is thrown out. Tickets are just so
damn fascinating. You got to remember, an event becomes more important over time.
We only know that WrestleMania was so special that WrestleMania three, after the
first twenty happened and you're like, oh my god, that was the moment,
right, talk about the tickets. Sorry, go ahead, no,
So I'm just gonna give you an example. It's a little bit more of
it, but this is this is real. Gives you the example of when
people realize, so JFK, the dinner that JFK was supposed to be at
the night he got shot, there's hundreds of tickets from that dinner, but
there's very few from the breakfast in Fort Worth that day. Why because people
threw them out immediately, right because they it wasn't important. That's a day
or that's actually ten hours, so you know, and then there's other things
that people do. So like, let me give you a great example on
tickets. And I don't mean to steer this to tickets, but I think
it just drives drives the point home of scarcity. So the Michael Jordan's shrug
game, right when he goes you know, when he does his shrug.
Okay, So the back of the ticket has if the bull scored more than
one hundred points, you get a free pizza Pizza Hut. They scored like
one hundred twenty two, Okay, it says if the bull hold there the
opposing team to under a hundred, they did, they held the Trailblazers to
eighty nine, you get a free lottery ticket. Do you know how many
people gave up their tickets for a pizza or that's cannot create for six to
eight hundred dollars? But there were buckets of that yet at the seven eleven
where you could get the lottery ticket or the pizza hut. So those things,
I mean, there's just different things that make it make something so scarce.
The Rudy Game, Like I bought the Rudy Game ticket for sixteen hundred
dollars and I'm like, God, this is crazy. But you know what,
no one even knew the story until the movie came out. That's a
twenty year gap. So this is these are all the scarcity things that you
have to consider as a collector. And I think I think the rubber wrestlers
in good condition, out of sealed gives it a market, right, there's
some liquidity. But then if you want to get the top of the tip
up the great sealed ones, I think those are gonna fly. And I
still think it's early days. Yeah, And and that's a scary part is
that I believe it is the early days, but that jump from a we
call it loose set that's mint to them in the package, it's like it's
really like night and day. And some of those are damn near impossible to
find, especially some of those later Black Card ones or the ones we were
talking about earlier with the stands, So it gets really really complicate. Like
I had I bought a Vince McMahon and I was like, I have never
seen Vince McMahon, Like that seemed to be a Canadian only again right,
Yeah, so the Vince I believe was the United States also, because then
there's the foreign cards, which it gets really complicated with like the French wording
and like and then if you open like they see the old McMahon they spilled
being on the bottom, but then they had it it said trademark Vince mc
m A n N. And I'm like, what I know. Yeah,
it's very strange. So even those posters that come in those LJN's, like
the posters for the final Black Card series, just up poster out of the
package. They're going for over a thousand dollars for something like a Macho Man
or a jake. The snake are like almost impossible to get for a poster
up, not even the figure the poster. So I think it's only gonna
get worse, which is great for us because we love this though. It's
it's amazing, and I think the grading companies help it too. The fact
that you know, what is it the guys that is it AFA, what's
the what's the Yeah? I mean those those guys are the water guys for
video games, like to have a stand that you could stand up nicely,
and it makes it a piece of art just when it jogs people's nostalgia and
you're like, oh my god. And I tell people, you know,
you should be different. So like the eighty two whole, So the Wrestling
All Stars set right there, that moved too fast on me, right,
So I wanted to get in and I was like, god, I'm too
late. So I'm like, well, what is my solution? What can
I do? So I decided that I had to get the first VHS of
his highlights sealed. Oh yeah, I look at that man, so you
know, completely sealed his first AWA highlights and that's like, you know again,
uh not rated thirty minutes The American Wrestling Association. Look at Andre on
the back. That's incredible. I mean Andre, by the way, his
signature is ridiculous. How hard I mean you're paying. You're paying thirteen to
eighteen hundred for just a standard Andre the Giant and Jay russom Off is like
thirty eight hundred, Like it's it's it's amazing. There's so little out there.
And again, people, I made this play because everything I do is
is strate like I love it, but it's also strategic. And by the
way, if you do get a ninety nine figure, and I don't know
if you can, so I got a Rocky My via but I but I
have the Rock sign it. So Rock the Rock has signed the package ender.
So at least you know you got to get something completely special. I'm
trying to find the I did take out my My My WrestleMania. Don't don't
lose that one, Darren my WrestleMania three ticket. So yeah, you mentioned
the autographs. What does that do to something like if you have, for
example, Brian behind you has those Hasbro figures all signed, like does that
it doesn't? Is a weird signing is a weird thing, right, Like
in cards sometimes it devalues it. You know, people have to make their
own decisions. I think it depends like I think it depends on whether it's
rare or not. Like as you said, I wanted to get the ninety
nine Rock or the two thousand Rock, the Rocky my Via, but I
knew that it was garbage because so many people have them unless I had a
differentiator, which is signing it. So it seems like the market wants to
charge you more for signing. For me, I'd rather have what I had
that I opened. I didn't have a signed one is the guy is the
caveat deceased people that you know that could be. I think it just depends
on. Listen, if you have a p you know, things that are
perfectly sealed. I think there's so little anyway that if you're looking to sell
it, I think you'll find someone who will. I mean I again,
I think that the people who invested early on just like you guys, like
you have to hold on now, you have to hold on because I think
some of the video game guys they were like, oh my god, I'm
ten xing my early investment and it's like, m well, you guys,
just like so the first I don't know if this is the same thing.
It sounds like it is, because the early video game guys were like this
one is this version and there's only one version of this, and I'm like,
yeah, but Ice Climber, that game sucked, like like no wonder,
there's no none of them. It's failed. It was dead on arrival,
Like that game suck, and the guy's like, I know, but
there's fewer of them. So, like I make fun of a first generation
video game person, I'm like, I got ten games. They're the games
we all played. I'm not dumb the game, but the first generations like
oh and this is a rev this with this color back and the blue dots.
Like I think you guys are a little bit like that, right,
because you when you were going into the shirt variations, right, oh yeah.
But I also think that the demand is greater than the rarity. Something
could be one of one, right, but if nobody wants it, then
it's valueless. So like, for instance, like the prototypes of like these
ljns, Like I have some lj and hand painted resin prototype I saw I
saw one of those on ebays, so I have a couple of them.
And like the prices of those. Trust me, I've spent a lot of
money on some of those. But like now, Mattel makes the figures,
right, so if you find a Mattel hand paid the prototype, it's like
nobody cares. So maybe it sells for like fifty bucks. This is a
crazy story. Uh. Last year I had LJ and the company that we
were talking about. They made in the in house. I don't know why,
and I don't condone this, but a few naked Miss Elizabeth, there's
still one on an eBay. Okay, naked, like I'm talking pictures like
pubic hair, nipples like he died. I was not, no, no,
no no. This made in the eighties. Yeah, so I collect
these prototypes. This was presented to me. I got it with a bunch
of other ones, and like I wasn't necessarily proud of it because it's weird,
right, let's not. Let's be honest, it's weird. So I
had it on display, focused on the rarity probably right, but let's okay,
So I we we do all this stuff on YouTube, Twitter or whatever.
We did a YouTube video that the history of the LJ and figure.
I'll send you it like you might enjoy it. And she plug our YouTube
channel and we showed the Elizabeth and we even like blurred it out right because
we didn't want to show it. I got into contacted. You got hammered.
I got hammered, right, And I bought it for maybe I'm back
gonna say what I bought it for, but I that's I end up selling
for forty five thousand dollars. Okay, So maybe I bought it four thousand
and five, like very low, and like, how could you turn that
down? It's like that's the gamble right there, right, because could I
hold it and maybe get more I don't know, or I can make thousands
and thousands of dollars. That's what I think is the gamble and the thrill
and the addiction that we all love. So so you hit on something,
which is that you were able to tell the story a lot. I'm never
scared about spending, you know, fifty one hundred hundred and fifty thousand dollars.
If I have the story right, I will never lose. I'm a
storyteller, right, You're a storyteller. Half half that person bought that because
you were able to tell the story and made them feel good about it.
I'll tell you quickly about my check collection, which is really weird, very
weird d but it's worth ten x of what I bought it. So I
go to this card show five years ago and the guy hands me a stack
at checks and I'm like, how much are they? An he goes it's
fifty bucks each, And I'm thinking to myself, well, why would they
be the same? Like one could be like the Pete Rose investigation and one
could be for a Hurtz rent a car. Why would they be the same.
And I realized that the only reason that people collect checks is because they
feel a little bit better about the authenticity of the signature. That's all.
They don't care about the story. And I go, well, if I
collect checks that have stories, right exactly what you're doing, what you did
with the Miss Elizabeth, you have a captive audience who is interested in this
stuff. Guy probably didn't know and was like, wow, this is rare
and this is crazy. And as a kid, I love Miss Elizabeth and
whatever. So I have a check collection that's unrivaled because I can tell these
stories and I love the story. So I have Babe Ruth paying for the
equivalent of fifteen thousand dollars worth of alcohol. I have jfk paying for his
Washington Post subscription three months before he became president. I'm Joe Montana paying for
his freshman year apartment at Notre Dame. I have Amelia Earhart paying for nose
surgery, you know. So like it's not only getting like who you like,
but it's also like, I have Larry David committing a federal crime.
Basically, so, Jay Leno paid Larry Charles, who is Larry David's best
friend, ten dollars for comedy material in nineteen seventy eight, and on the
back of the check, Larry David endorses it. You can't endorse a check
that's not written out to you. That's a crime. And I'm thinking,
I said, oh my god, this is the greatest. Is like a
Curb Curb your Enthusiasm episode. Larry's like, my name is Larry. Your
Name's like I go to the bank noo, you know, and just you
know, I'll trick the banker. I know the banker, you know.
Like, so anyway, the story is so important and I think you were
able to tell the story. And I think that's why you have confidence when
you buy stuff that you have a love for the story and there's something great.
Yeah, I think, what what's your opinion on some people? I
think us included, we love this so much that I feel like we're creating.
I hate to use the word fake markets because you look at the eBay
sould listening, they're not fake. People are paying. But for instance,
there's this I don't know if you are you feeling with the WWF trivia game,
the Cardinal trivia game with that Rocky card right because people went so when
the Dwayne Johnson Bumblebee became too much, people said, oh, the nineteen
ninety seven Rocky might be is right, Yeah, because now people are now
people are starting to think, Okay, there's this company just toys. They
made wrestling figures, and there's a Rocky my Via Bendham and on the back
of it it's like a little punch out card. So now that Rocky my
Via, which this is happening. This is happening everywhere in cards. It's
unbelievable. People looking for angles. So so I had to make the call
about six months ago. I needed a Tiger Woods and I'm thinking to myself,
Okay, what is the real rookie is it the ninety six Sports Illustrated
for Kids card or is it the two thousand and one upper deck card.
Now, normally the rule is pack pulled. It has to be pack pulled
to be a rookie. But now you have a situation. Now you have
a situation where Tiger Woods two thousand and one card to me, can't be
a rookie. He was five years into the tour and won five majors.
How could that be a rookie. And then you have the fact that the
Dwayne Johnson, the fact that that was perforated. Perforated used to be like,
oh, that's not a card meant to really be a card. It
was meant to be a sheet. The fact that Dwayne Johnson becomes a card
the bumble Bee Tuna then gives rise to Okay, this Tiger card could be
legit. So people are looking for any angles. This is not just an
and I would just say because listen, people are looking to attack me even
though I'm trying to help them with memorabilia. The only thing I'm very clear
about is full disclosure. Sure, I will always tell you that I have
X number of these cards I've invested in. It I believe in it,
and I usually don't have twenty, so I go get one rock card.
I say, I have one rock card. One guy got ten and he
made the fortune, not me. So I would just say they're not fake
markets, they're real markets. And as long as you guys disclose what your
interests are and what you have, I think there's nothing wrong with it.
Every this is mirroring every single place people are going to find anything. I
bought a Christopher Walkin was a child actor. There's a nineteen fifty three card
of a seven year old Christopher Walkin again, so I'll be like, that's
weird, that's kiddie porn whatever it is, right, But but again you
walk the line with the Miss Elizabeth so and you look at the population reports
of these things. Now, the cardinal trip when you're getting into trivia games
that that, by the way, that is probably more prevalent out there.
People have tons of those sets, not the even the tradtional size of a
trading card. Like I just couldn't believe it it blew up the way it
did. But there are actually European trivia sets often have been the rookies of
some of these guys. A sticker. Listen, I used to dis a
sticker. I used to kill a sticker, right, not a card,
not a card, not a card. Then you have the Mike Tyson situation.
His next card is like seven years away from from his nineteen eighty five
Panini sticker. Wow. And there's a nineteen eighty five Italian Panini sticker of
which there's only forty five that have been graded, and then there's eighty six
US and that creates something. So I settled on, Okay, I'm gonna
have to buy the eighty five Italian Panini sticker. So but again, previously
to this year not legitimate. It used to be the magazine cutouts were completely
not legitimate. And then this nineteen fifty eight Peelee magazine cut out PSA goes
and grades it, and by the virtue of them grading it, they just
made it a card and then it sells for like one hundred grand. So
there's a lot of things going on right now, and people are just looking
for angles. Oh my goodness, what another episode of the Major rewind.
I feel like I know a lot of the fans. An apology. I
just pasted a weekend. We did a creative pro live and n Brook.
I came up short. I didn't get the job done. We started the
show off hot, a lot of great moments, but I failed. I
lost. Even though I didn't get pinned, I still I feel weird about
it. Yeah, it's not a good time right now. I gotta be
evaluate. I had to figure out what's uh. I gotta figure out what's
going on in what changes. I gotta make some changes, that's for sure.
You just gotta be willing to make those changes. You know things aren't
going your way. I feel like you're doing better. Well, you don't
just keep doing the same thing, right, you know, you don't just
keep keep yourself in that pattern. And you have to fight. You gotta
get those batteries. You gotta stuff them in and just go for it.
You gotta you gotta pull the trigger. You know, all right, it's
gotta get it done. But you might have to change certain patterns and certain
behaviors to get And I can't even get my microphone or work. I sound
like I'm underwater or I'm on the radio. I don't know what the issue
is. It hasn't done this before. See, this is this is what
I'm talking about. Just another another obstacle in your in your boy's way.
Another another what is it? What would you call it? Another roadblock?
That's what it is. Not a cell of roadblock, but a roadblock nonetheless,
just like the many that I'm faced with in life, and it has
me feeling not great. Yeah, not not great at all. I don't
know what's going on with my microphone. I'm gonna see what I could do
about getting it fixed. You know, I want to. I want to
give you guys the best, because otherwise what am I doing? You know?
I feel a lot of ways, a lot of different times. Sometimes
I feel silly, I feel happy. Sometimes I feel like God don't have
a pardner. Sometimes I feel like my own friend is the city. I
live in the city of Vanos. Only as I can't together, we cry,
I drive on the streets. Curse she's my I walk through bills.
Curse she goes through I am, she sees my goode say she kisses when
I'll never work. Really now that it is a lie, I I don't
ever wanna feel like God did that day I take me to the place I
love, have taken me all the way. I don't ever wanna be like
God did that day, I take me to the place I love, take
me all the way. Yeah, it's hard to believe that there's nobody out
there. It's hard to move me that I'm all alone. At least I
have her love and she loves me, know me, Yes, I I
have to do. We cry. I don't ever wanna feel like God.
Dude, that thing I take me to the place I love, take the
way, And I don't ever wanna be my God. Did that thing?
I take me to the place I love, take go the way. Yeah,
care no, yeah, yeah, love me so gay. Yeah.
One time under the bird cell town they swell rising some blood under the bridge,
taught I could not get enough under the bridge, taught Vocato my love
under the West. Time I give my love away. Yeah yeah, no
game, Yeah, I say where I served. H m m
