<v Speaker 1>Hey, everybody, welcome to Games Mornings with Me Jeff Grub,
<v Speaker 1>your host from giant bomb dot com. Thank you for
<v Speaker 1>tuning in. In this episode, we're gonna be talking about
<v Speaker 1>Krados leaving the PlayStation and it is a major switch
<v Speaker 1>to exclusive at risk of.
<v Speaker 2>Getting delayed out of twenty twenty six. It's gonna be
<v Speaker 2>a good one because we have jan at Choa on
<v Speaker 2>the show. Jan how are you doing?
<v Speaker 3>I am doing good, Grub great, even glad to hear it.
<v Speaker 1>I'm a little under the whether my kids had a
<v Speaker 1>little bit of cold. Steph had a little bit of
<v Speaker 1>a cold before she left. I'm getting that cold now
<v Speaker 1>and a little bit of upset tell me on top
<v Speaker 1>of that, and then I've got a bunch.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, it's all happening at once.
<v Speaker 1>It's not like nothing is like high on the scale
<v Speaker 1>of problems.
<v Speaker 2>It's just a bunch of little.
<v Speaker 1>Ones all kind of stacking up on one another. But yeah,
<v Speaker 1>other than that, doing pretty good. Not gonna be able
<v Speaker 1>to do the talkover today. I think both of us
<v Speaker 1>are gonna be busy, right, so we're kind of put
<v Speaker 1>piecing that together.
<v Speaker 2>We'll have a crew. Is still talk over that.
<v Speaker 1>I'm still excited to see what's happening with that PlayStation
<v Speaker 1>state of play. I'm ready for some new games to
<v Speaker 1>get announced and see what to look forward to this year.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, I think actually all the misbusters will have to
<v Speaker 3>miss the state of play. Right, you and I have
<v Speaker 3>previous engagements. And then Mike Manatti, he's just gone. He
<v Speaker 3>just stopped working. Yeah, he just said I'm out and
<v Speaker 3>then and then left. He big timed us switch I get.
<v Speaker 3>He hung up his wig, his virtuoso wig, and just left.
<v Speaker 3>He's still on this discord call. Actually, folks, dereliction of
<v Speaker 3>duty is what we call it.
<v Speaker 2>To play.
<v Speaker 1>We'll kind of see. Well, we'll definitely talk about it
<v Speaker 1>on the show tomorrow. Everybody be happy to recap it.
<v Speaker 1>But in the meantime, let's get this show started and

<v Speaker 1>breaking news and maybe even some of our own original reporting.
<v Speaker 1>For all these topics, I'll get the input of a

<v Speaker 1>giant bomb dot com. You can also catch the show
<v Speaker 1>later with chapters and timestamps on YouTube.
<v Speaker 2>Hello YouTube.
<v Speaker 1>All right, we have a lot to get into, so
<v Speaker 1>let's start the Morning Mess with High on Life two.
<v Speaker 2>Reviews are in. I was not super looking forward to this.
<v Speaker 1>I stopped paying attention to High in Life because that
<v Speaker 1>whole that dude sucked, and then I was like, I
<v Speaker 1>did not track, Like what this game's relationship is to
<v Speaker 1>that guy. My understanding is they.
<v Speaker 2>Aren't involved with them anymore. I don't think so.
<v Speaker 1>People seem to like the game a fair amount. It's
<v Speaker 1>got a seventy nine on open credits, so there's still
<v Speaker 1>some some mixed reactions to it, including from EVERYI dot
<v Speaker 1>I and Italian website that gave it a seven point
<v Speaker 1>five out of ten and said, just like its predecessor,
<v Speaker 1>High in Life two is an imperfect game that, despite
<v Speaker 1>its rough edges, manages to entertain and amuse from start
<v Speaker 1>to finish. Jesse Norris over at Day One, which was
<v Speaker 1>formerly Xbox Era, we talked about that yesterday. He gave
<v Speaker 1>it a nine out of ten and said High in
<v Speaker 1>Life two is bigger yet smaller. It's both bold and
<v Speaker 1>more reserved, and how it dishes out gameplay, mechanics.
<v Speaker 2>And story beats.
<v Speaker 1>He says he loved his fifteen hours with it, and
<v Speaker 1>then gamer social clubs Deep demandre Presley gave it an
<v Speaker 1>eight out of ten and said overall, I had a
<v Speaker 1>blast with High on Life two from start to finish,
<v Speaker 1>with improved gameplay and in my opinion, improved writing as well.
<v Speaker 1>Fans of the first game and maybe even some detractors,
<v Speaker 1>will find a lot to like here. Although the reduced
<v Speaker 1>Metroid Vena elements are disappointing and some tech issues can
<v Speaker 1>be annoying as well, it wasn't nearly enough to bring
<v Speaker 1>the overall experience down. If Squanch decides to go with
<v Speaker 1>High on Life three, I await it greatly. Honestly, coming
<v Speaker 1>out of these reviews, even though you know the overall
<v Speaker 1>seventy nine that's not bad. I'm more curious about this
<v Speaker 1>game than I was before jan I'm not sure I'm
<v Speaker 1>gonna like rush to go check it out, but maybe
<v Speaker 1>I'll install it on the Steam deck started up and
<v Speaker 1>see how I feel.
<v Speaker 2>I thought the first game had like some good bits.
<v Speaker 1>I like that you could watch the entirety of some
<v Speaker 1>of those like dumb ass movies in there and not
<v Speaker 1>play the game and just watch that there.
<v Speaker 2>I was like, this is this.
<v Speaker 1>Is fun and funny and interesting. I will hope there's
<v Speaker 1>more stuff like that in here.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, I feel very similar, Grub. There were some good
<v Speaker 3>jokes in the original High End Life, but then it
<v Speaker 3>kind of got I just felt a little bit overbearing
<v Speaker 3>with the tone that and you know, with remintless yes exactly,
<v Speaker 3>it's very hard to sustain that for like even three
<v Speaker 3>plus hours, especially a good point. So it's cool to
<v Speaker 3>see that High On Life two is probably nailing that,
<v Speaker 3>maybe finding that balance a little bit more. I'm surprised
<v Speaker 3>to see some of the higher scores based off of,
<v Speaker 3>you know, the reception to the original one, But I
<v Speaker 3>hope that this appeals to those folks want another one.
<v Speaker 3>And yeah, justin Royland did get kicked out of the
<v Speaker 3>production of this and on Rick and Morty because yes,
<v Speaker 3>of being a dweeb.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, you know, just a real shithead, big dork. But
<v Speaker 1>so yeah, yeah, go ahead.
<v Speaker 3>I can't say, Grub that I'm gonna even after seeing
<v Speaker 3>these glowing review scores, I can't say that I'm rushing
<v Speaker 3>to get high on life two.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, yeah, I know what you mean. I'm more curious.
<v Speaker 1>I'm not in the rushing out to play a zone
<v Speaker 1>quite yet with it. But like I said, I did
<v Speaker 1>have some positive feelings about that first game. Kind of
<v Speaker 1>that's windled pretty quickly and it was not thinking about
<v Speaker 1>this one at all, So you know, it's at least
<v Speaker 1>did its job, and I think, like you nailed it
<v Speaker 1>that first game.
<v Speaker 2>It's relentless and it's the one. It's a one note.
<v Speaker 2>It's doing the.
<v Speaker 1>Joke that that that guy does justin Royland does the
<v Speaker 1>entire time, and it sounds like there's maybe a little.
<v Speaker 2>Bit more to this one than that.
<v Speaker 1>So I'll I'll at least kind of keep my ear
<v Speaker 1>to the ground and see if people continue to feel
<v Speaker 1>pretty positively about it as more people get their hands
<v Speaker 1>on it.
<v Speaker 3>I feel bad grub but this because we're only in February.
<v Speaker 3>It's maybe what the second week of February, and this
<v Speaker 3>already clicks in my head of leto I don't know,
<v Speaker 3>this already clicks in my head of like, oh, this
<v Speaker 3>is a this might be a neat game to visit
<v Speaker 3>at the end of the year.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, yeah, I know what you mean.
<v Speaker 1>Just kind of put it to the side and come
<v Speaker 1>back around it when it's like the time demands are
<v Speaker 1>a little bit different for sure. All right, let's let's
<v Speaker 1>keep going here. That rumored God of War Metroid Vinya
<v Speaker 1>game could be multi platform first game in the series
<v Speaker 1>to skip exclusivity at launch.
<v Speaker 2>Cool question mark.
<v Speaker 1>This is from Abdullah Wassim at Tech for gamers, the
<v Speaker 1>God of War franchise has been synomenous, synomenous.
<v Speaker 2>Oh, synomenous. Why can't I say the cinnemus phnomenous?
<v Speaker 3>Cinnamon?
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, it's been cinnamon with success, thank you.
<v Speaker 1>Almost every release has been critically received, making it one
<v Speaker 1>of the most beloved game franchises ever. Soon we could
<v Speaker 1>be getting a new entry, but apparently not a mainline game.
<v Speaker 1>There have been rumors of a God of War two
<v Speaker 1>point five D Metroid Venua game for the longest time.
<v Speaker 1>It is expected to be announced at the upcoming State
<v Speaker 1>of Play, but more importantly, it could be the first
<v Speaker 1>in this series to skip exclusivity at launch. There's a
<v Speaker 1>bunch more here about why that matters. The rumors are
<v Speaker 1>coming from more people who are like sometimes accurate, sometimes
<v Speaker 1>not questionable. I'll say that Nate the Hate did say
<v Speaker 1>that he heard at one point that they were considering
<v Speaker 1>multi platform for this game.
<v Speaker 2>And then he was not sure if that ever turned
<v Speaker 2>into anything.
<v Speaker 1>I've heard similar things, but I've heard it with not
<v Speaker 1>necessarily this game, but with other PlayStation games at the
<v Speaker 1>very least.
<v Speaker 2>Jan if you're over at PlayStation.
<v Speaker 1>And everyone is kind of walking around going like the
<v Speaker 1>console wars are over at a certain point, that has
<v Speaker 1>to start changing the way you think about all of
<v Speaker 1>these decisions, right, Like, there is no real reason that
<v Speaker 1>this game couldn't be multiplatform at launch if you're not
<v Speaker 1>really worried about like selling PlayStations anymore, because it seems
<v Speaker 1>like those are just going to keep selling, Like people
<v Speaker 1>are going to buy that to play God or Grand
<v Speaker 1>Theft Auto six, which is going to be in a
<v Speaker 1>lot of different places.
<v Speaker 2>What's going to be an Xbox and PlayStation and it's like.
<v Speaker 1>Well, that's going to sell the system right there, and
<v Speaker 1>that's multi platform.
<v Speaker 2>Why are we being so precious about our own games?
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, one hundred percent, Greb. I feel like PlayStation has
<v Speaker 3>definitely seen success in even poorting first party games to
<v Speaker 3>the PC, and that has been a good success over there,
<v Speaker 3>I can't imagine. And PlayStation has to see the numbers
<v Speaker 3>where some of the most played games on the PS
<v Speaker 3>five are Microsoft published games. So yeah, they have to
<v Speaker 3>see the math clicking there of like, well, if we
<v Speaker 3>put our games or make our games available on the
<v Speaker 3>Xbox maybe on the switch to that has to just
<v Speaker 3>be a net positive for us back at PlayStation HQ.
<v Speaker 3>It feels like a no brainer, especially maybe this two
<v Speaker 3>D Metroidvania God of War game is less demanding than
<v Speaker 3>what you're like, even God of War twenty eighteen would
<v Speaker 3>be on certain platforms, right.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, it's like you could see that being like, well,
<v Speaker 1>because of the technical reasoning, we can get that working everywhere,
<v Speaker 1>even on the Switch one. And it does feel like,
<v Speaker 1>you know, Xbox might get left out in the.
<v Speaker 2>Cold on this. It might not.
<v Speaker 1>It could be included this multiplatform thing if it really
<v Speaker 1>does happen. But the switch is like, it's very different.
<v Speaker 1>It does feel very different. It feels like a different
<v Speaker 1>part of a Venn diagram where there is some overlap
<v Speaker 1>but not a ton of overlap, and you're reaching an
<v Speaker 1>audience you wouldn't otherwise reach. And you're right, I think
<v Speaker 1>they're like, man, Microsoft gets the benefit of putting their
<v Speaker 1>games out here. How can we do how can we
<v Speaker 1>replicate that? And even like you know, you said they
<v Speaker 1>port their games to PC, they've not done a lot
<v Speaker 1>of here's a big new game from one of our
<v Speaker 1>main franchises launching on PC day one, Even that would
<v Speaker 1>be kind of a new thing for them, right, Yeah.
<v Speaker 3>I think if they were able and felt comfortable doing
<v Speaker 3>the whole day one stuff versus the time to console
<v Speaker 3>exclusivity window, I think that would still be a gigantic
<v Speaker 3>net positive. I know sometimes when we are given the
<v Speaker 3>option between PlayStation five or PC code, lately I will
<v Speaker 3>just err on the side of PC code because it's
<v Speaker 3>more convenient for me. I can see that trend for
<v Speaker 3>other people as well, especially with how some people are
<v Speaker 3>some people are transitioning out of consoles and into PC gaming,
<v Speaker 3>or you know, they picked up a Steam deck. Now
<v Speaker 3>you can't get a Steam deck for whatever reason in
<v Speaker 3>the United States in the United States, But it just
<v Speaker 3>puts your game out where more people are, and then
<v Speaker 3>more people will play it. Grub right, It just that
<v Speaker 3>math makes.
<v Speaker 1>Sense, right, And it's like, you know, the one time
<v Speaker 1>thought process of we are building up a sort of
<v Speaker 1>narrative that someone can tell themselves as a reason to
<v Speaker 1>go out and spend a lot of money on the
<v Speaker 1>console right now that you know, people spend a lot
<v Speaker 1>of money on the console to play the games they
<v Speaker 1>already own and the games they're already playing. It's this
<v Speaker 1>is the way to play Fortnite that or this is
<v Speaker 1>the way to play Call of Duty better, this is
<v Speaker 1>the way to get Grand Theft Auto. And it's nice
<v Speaker 1>to have a bunch of PlayStation exclusives that that narrative
<v Speaker 1>that doesn't change if suddenly the God of War two
<v Speaker 1>point five D metro Vena game is on Switch as well.
<v Speaker 1>It's like if the reasons someone wanted to buy a
<v Speaker 1>PlayStation would all still one hundred percent be there, and
<v Speaker 1>the people that were on a Switch that have not
<v Speaker 1>bought a PlayStation yet are very unlikely to be swayed
<v Speaker 1>by a game like this. Yeah, I guess so, Like
<v Speaker 1>I said, I can't confirm anything, but I've heard PlayStation
<v Speaker 1>might be considering other games others to go to Switch,
<v Speaker 1>maybe some other platforms, but Switch. And it's like if
<v Speaker 1>that is like if they start thinking along those lines,
<v Speaker 1>Jan like, can you imagine some scenarios where it's like
<v Speaker 1>they could set up future sequels by pourting older games.
<v Speaker 3>Grub one hundred lately on this I mean, we always
<v Speaker 3>talk about platforming games on this website. Yeah, all across
<v Speaker 3>the board, different generations of platforming games. I could one
<v Speaker 3>hundred percent see a world where we see a Ratchet
<v Speaker 3>and Clank, maybe a Jack and Daster collection this like Cooper, Please,
<v Speaker 3>someone breathe life into this little raccoon on the switch too.
<v Speaker 3>You know, a couple of years ago that seemed very
<v Speaker 3>far fetched, But now in the world we live in,
<v Speaker 3>I believe there is a possibility. I mean, if master
<v Speaker 3>Chief is coming to the PlayStation, it doesn't seem impossible
<v Speaker 3>to even think that. Okay, maybe not Astrobot, because Astrobot
<v Speaker 3>is very PlayStation focused and you know, pays homage to
<v Speaker 3>the whole Linux right.
<v Speaker 1>And it's like about like using all the abilities of
<v Speaker 1>the dual sense and all that stuff.
<v Speaker 3>But someone like or a game like Ratchet and Clank
<v Speaker 3>could easily make its way over to the switch to
<v Speaker 3>at this point.
<v Speaker 1>I mean a sac Boy, a big adventure in that
<v Speaker 1>game that came out at the launch year of the
<v Speaker 1>PlayStation five with that that they put that on PC,
<v Speaker 1>and it kind of also didn't get like that would
<v Speaker 1>do best on Switch right now us do best on there.
<v Speaker 1>That's not necessarily one of the games I've heard, and
<v Speaker 1>I don't even know if we go into the state
<v Speaker 1>of play and they start popping up Switch logos, that
<v Speaker 1>doesn't seem like that's going to happen necessarily. What do
<v Speaker 1>you think about that, because that feels weird to me still.
<v Speaker 3>I don't see I could see it being after the
<v Speaker 3>trailer or presentation or slides or whatever, being in small text,
<v Speaker 3>multi platform or available on xyz rather than like plastering.
<v Speaker 3>I think a Steam logo PC logo would be fine,
<v Speaker 3>but plastering like an Xbox logo or even a Switch
<v Speaker 3>logo probably they aren't ready for that.
<v Speaker 1>It does kind of excuse me, does kind of go
<v Speaker 1>back to this idea of things have changed a lot,
<v Speaker 1>and the tools that they've used in the past to
<v Speaker 1>get people excited about these consoles are not the tools
<v Speaker 1>that work anymore, and that is going to it's benefiting
<v Speaker 1>them in that now, Hey, you know what, we can
<v Speaker 1>make more money, and that's what we want. We want
<v Speaker 1>to make more money by Sony's games to more people
<v Speaker 1>in more places, and everyone is sort of agreed at
<v Speaker 1>the same time, that's our primary concern. Selling the boxes
<v Speaker 1>is secondary, if not completely off the table. But that
<v Speaker 1>does set up a problem for a next generation where
<v Speaker 1>it's like at the beginning, people those people still show
<v Speaker 1>up for exclusives.
<v Speaker 2>But I don't know. I guess those people. I think
<v Speaker 2>we'll just show up because they show up.
<v Speaker 1>Like I'm talking about me, I will just show up
<v Speaker 1>because I show up when a new console launches and
<v Speaker 1>I want the new technology. And if there's a couple
<v Speaker 1>of things that are timed exclusive or whatever, I guess
<v Speaker 1>that'll be nice.
<v Speaker 2>But I don't know.
<v Speaker 1>They still are going to have some issues getting people
<v Speaker 1>excited about the next gen, and they won't necessarily be
<v Speaker 1>able to rely on a robust lineup of exclusive games
<v Speaker 1>for a bunch of reasons, if not just because they
<v Speaker 1>want to put it out everywhere, because it's hard to
<v Speaker 1>make a bunch of those games all at once and
<v Speaker 1>then sell it to a tiny audience of the five
<v Speaker 1>million people who show up in the first year.
<v Speaker 3>Right, Yeah, I would have to assume grub that PlayStation
<v Speaker 3>really has to lean on the other facets of the
<v Speaker 3>platform right where they have to rely on the fact
<v Speaker 3>that for some people, PC gaming may be too complicated,
<v Speaker 3>or that a lot of people are used to this
<v Speaker 3>ecosystem on the PlayStation. All of their friends have PlayStations
<v Speaker 3>and this is where they all come to play, whether
<v Speaker 3>it's a called Duty, whether it's a Fortnite, whatever multiplayer game,
<v Speaker 3>that this is like the hub for that. Especially if
<v Speaker 3>they're going to start releasing first party games on other platforms,
<v Speaker 3>I think PlayStation really has to bolster that experience at
<v Speaker 3>the console level and the system level for people to have,
<v Speaker 3>I guess, whatever loyalty they have because they prefer to
<v Speaker 3>use a PlayStation over using a switch to over using
<v Speaker 3>an Xbox, much like how people have their preferences for phones.
<v Speaker 3>You know, we have so many different skews of phones,
<v Speaker 3>but a lot of people are just comfortable with using
<v Speaker 3>an iPhone because their friends also have an iPhone, their
<v Speaker 3>family right as an iPhone. So if PlayStation can kind
<v Speaker 3>of adopt a similar ecosystem for the user like that,
<v Speaker 3>I still think they can get away with selling whatever
<v Speaker 3>the next console will look like.
<v Speaker 2>Greb.
<v Speaker 3>My question in tandem with this is if PlayStation does
<v Speaker 3>release for the PS six or whatever PS five and
<v Speaker 3>a half we're going to have, and they do release
<v Speaker 3>that portable console that is like a switch to, like
<v Speaker 3>a Steam Deck, do you think that factors into the
<v Speaker 3>competition of wanting to release things on the switch to
<v Speaker 3>because now they have their own thing.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>I was wondering about that as well, like in the meantime,
<v Speaker 1>right they could do this now because that isn't happening,
<v Speaker 1>but they are going to be in a situation, it
<v Speaker 1>seems like with the PS six where they will have
<v Speaker 1>a handheld and that will will maybe feel like a
<v Speaker 1>little bit more of a direct competitor, And yeah, that
<v Speaker 1>that change the factor. And I don't know, I think
<v Speaker 1>that you know, a saw chat like selling boxes is
<v Speaker 1>still super important. They get a big cut from third
<v Speaker 1>party sales. It's like, yeah, absolutely. I think the story
<v Speaker 1>that Sony might be telling here though, is that they
<v Speaker 1>think they're selling those boxes kind of just because of
<v Speaker 1>the brand and people wanting PlayStation, and that the exclusives
<v Speaker 1>at aren't making that much of a difference. And like,
<v Speaker 1>you know, the Steam Deck is not something that has
<v Speaker 1>a lot of exclusives, right, it is convenient, it delivers
<v Speaker 1>on a promise of being able to play a lot
<v Speaker 1>of the games that everyone else is playing everywhere else,
<v Speaker 1>but on the go in your hands.
<v Speaker 2>Your entire library is there and it's easy to use.
<v Speaker 1>And I think a handheld PS six that maybe is
<v Speaker 1>like a very underpowered PS five or whatever it might
<v Speaker 1>behoove them to get in a situation now where they
<v Speaker 1>are getting things going on the switch to so that
<v Speaker 1>they have a lot of games ready to go for
<v Speaker 1>a reduced handheld the next generation around, and they'll just
<v Speaker 1>be like, the PlayStation players will show up for that,
<v Speaker 1>and then we will work with our third party partners
<v Speaker 1>and have you know, the real call of duty or whatever,
<v Speaker 1>and we'll make sure we get Grand Theft Auto six
<v Speaker 1>running out here in a way that Nintendo is not
<v Speaker 1>going to do the work to ensure that that happens
<v Speaker 1>on their on their device.
<v Speaker 2>And they're like, that will be what separates us.
<v Speaker 1>That said, I don't think exclusives are going to go
<v Speaker 1>away go away for PlayStation at least not like at
<v Speaker 1>least not in any day one sense. They will probably
<v Speaker 1>still have like the next Horizon game, whatever happens with
<v Speaker 1>that series, wherever they put it on PC and all
<v Speaker 1>that stuff, it'll be on PlayStation first and only for
<v Speaker 1>a certain amount of time. I think that time is
<v Speaker 1>going to get smaller and smaller, and then if it
<v Speaker 1>does kind of go anywhere else, it'll be PC and
<v Speaker 1>PlayStation at the same time.
<v Speaker 2>And even that still feels a little bit far away.
<v Speaker 3>But I don't think that takes away from perhaps releasing
<v Speaker 3>the original Horizon or forbidding West onto an Xbox at
<v Speaker 3>this point, right, Yeah, I'm right. I think where we're
<v Speaker 3>going is that with newer titles, the day one exclusivity
<v Speaker 3>is probably still going to stay to first party consoles.
<v Speaker 3>But you know, there are multiple Horizon games at this point,
<v Speaker 3>multiple God of Wars at this point that could head
<v Speaker 3>to Xbox, could hid to switch to is Hell Divers.
<v Speaker 2>Two on switch grub now, and that's that's a funny
<v Speaker 2>up bucks.
<v Speaker 1>Right, So yeah, right, the multiplayer games are always like
<v Speaker 1>it seems like third like way we understand those should
<v Speaker 1>be everywhere. And everyone went like, yeah, okay, so that
<v Speaker 1>conversations conversations already happened, and then you start you start
<v Speaker 1>asking you like, so, what's the real difference between this
<v Speaker 1>and the single player games? I get that, like you
<v Speaker 1>want to have a big audience to play the multiplayer games.
<v Speaker 1>That's the difference. But really, what's the difference? And I
<v Speaker 1>think Sony starts saying like, you know what, we don't know,
<v Speaker 1>Plus so why aren't we putting them there? And then
<v Speaker 1>that that's what leads them to a situation like this.
<v Speaker 1>All that said, no guarantee that this happens with this
<v Speaker 1>God of War metro Vanda game. So it could easily
<v Speaker 1>launch exclusive to PlayStation.
<v Speaker 3>You know, I'm thinking of easy lay up layups to
<v Speaker 3>port over to an Xbox or maybe you switch to
<v Speaker 3>and you know, the Spider Man came grub that would
<v Speaker 3>do gangbusters on both platforms. Yeah, whether it's the original
<v Speaker 3>Spider Man two or Miles Morales that would.
<v Speaker 1>Do in games run well on Steam Deck. So they
<v Speaker 1>would just translate to a switch real easily. Yeah yeah,
<v Speaker 1>Grand Trismo even it's like get that everywhere, Like yeah, yeah, yeah,
<v Speaker 1>I mean that audience likes to play those games on
<v Speaker 1>PlayStation and they're gonna keep buying the PlayStation to play
<v Speaker 1>that game. You will only get a new audience by
<v Speaker 1>putting that series elsewhere. So yeah, I'm interested to see
<v Speaker 1>how this all kind of unfurls. I think they don't
<v Speaker 1>necessarily know exactly what it needs to look like to
<v Speaker 1>sort of maximize all the buckets they're trying to fail
<v Speaker 1>of making the PlayStation still feel important while making the
<v Speaker 1>most money.
<v Speaker 2>And ensuring that the next game in any franchise.
<v Speaker 1>Has the best leg up to succeed by having the
<v Speaker 1>most people excited for it because they tried the first
<v Speaker 1>one in piece recently.
<v Speaker 2>Now they just tried the first one on switch.
<v Speaker 1>Okay, maybe they'll want to buy the next one and
<v Speaker 1>get a PlayStation so they could play that next one earlier.
<v Speaker 1>All that stuff are going to be factors that they're
<v Speaker 1>trying to like suss out and figure out the best
<v Speaker 1>path forward.
<v Speaker 2>And I bet they'll try.
<v Speaker 1>A couple of things like this could be easy, Like
<v Speaker 1>this is the kind of game where it is smaller,
<v Speaker 1>so they can kind of test some things within just
<v Speaker 1>see what happens and not feel like if it doesn't
<v Speaker 1>work out, it's like, well, we just did it for
<v Speaker 1>that game and that's a one off. That's not the
<v Speaker 1>real next Scot of War. So they have like some
<v Speaker 1>leeway to work with here.
<v Speaker 3>The other boon for Sony, though Grub is if this
<v Speaker 3>is multiplatform and this is a game that can run
<v Speaker 3>and run well on the switch to I believe pricing
<v Speaker 3>is something that they could fudge around with and do
<v Speaker 3>very well. Because how much was Metroid Prime four unlaunched?
<v Speaker 3>It was the full seventy or eighty dollars, right.
<v Speaker 1>Metric Prime four was the full seventy, I believe, Yeah.
<v Speaker 3>And I believe dread when that came out on the
<v Speaker 3>Switch one with sixty a full priced title.
<v Speaker 2>This is a good point, Jan.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, I'm not saying that a God of War or
<v Speaker 3>two D God of War is lesser than a full
<v Speaker 3>priced game, but I'm assuming this is an assumption here
<v Speaker 3>that it is smaller in scope, So maybe they could
<v Speaker 3>charge forty dollars for it, right, forty or fifty?
<v Speaker 2>Right? Like that's that's interesting.
<v Speaker 1>Like, hey, put on the system where there was a
<v Speaker 1>two point five D recognizable franchise Metroit Vania game for
<v Speaker 1>sixty dollars and ours is only it's only fifty compared
<v Speaker 1>to that, and everyone goes like, man, I don't know
<v Speaker 1>if it was just on PlayStation, this would feel weird,
<v Speaker 1>but I guess when you make it that point, all right, Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>that might be part of their thinking as well. It's like,
<v Speaker 1>let's get over there on that system where the prices
<v Speaker 1>have gone up, and we can sort of position ourselves
<v Speaker 1>relative relative to that versus relative to the games just
<v Speaker 1>on our console.
<v Speaker 3>And they do that for other ports over to the
<v Speaker 3>switch as well, Grub, like you know Horizon, they could
<v Speaker 3>charge fifty to sixty for those older games with Aloy,
<v Speaker 3>even like an uncharted perhaps, yep. Charge, Oh, that'd be cool,
<v Speaker 3>significantly lower than what Nintendo would be charging for first
<v Speaker 3>party titles.
<v Speaker 2>Yep.
<v Speaker 1>I think they just kind of solved the PC as
<v Speaker 1>free money and they're like, we could get more free money.
<v Speaker 2>That on Charted collection on Charter four. Put that on switch.
<v Speaker 2>That would be awesome. All right, let's do this next
<v Speaker 2>one here.
<v Speaker 1>Designer claims most of high Guard's dev team have been
<v Speaker 1>laid off weeks after launch.
<v Speaker 2>This is from Andy Robinson at VGC.
<v Speaker 1>A designer has claimed that most of the team behind
<v Speaker 1>free to play shooter High Guard has been laid off
<v Speaker 1>weeks after it launched. Alex Granner, a designer who's worked
<v Speaker 1>on Apex, Legends and Battlefield six, made the claim and
<v Speaker 1>at LinkedIn post on Wednesday. The post was shared by
<v Speaker 1>multiple other High Guard developers, including audio director Brad Snyder
<v Speaker 1>and producer Amelia Alameda VGC asked Wildlight, and they confirmed
<v Speaker 1>with an update today. We made an incredibly difficult to
<v Speaker 1>say to part ways with a number of our team members,
<v Speaker 1>well keeping a core group of developers to continue innovating
<v Speaker 1>and supporting the game.
<v Speaker 2>We're excuse me.
<v Speaker 1>We're proud of the team, talent, and the product we've
<v Speaker 1>created together. We're also grateful for players who gave the
<v Speaker 1>game a shot and those who continue to be a
<v Speaker 1>part of our community.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, the game is.
<v Speaker 1>You know, it launched, I think with expectations akin to
<v Speaker 1>what happened with Apex Legends, which was that game got
<v Speaker 1>introduced and I remember reporting that on it at the time,
<v Speaker 1>where it's like, oh my god, this thing has like
<v Speaker 1>one million players already, and now it's got five million players.
<v Speaker 1>Now it has fifty million players already a couple weeks later.
<v Speaker 1>This is nuts, and it's like they were expecting to
<v Speaker 1>at least do a fraction of that, and it doesn't
<v Speaker 1>sound like they really even got close. It rushed up
<v Speaker 1>to like one hundred thousand concurrens on Steam at launch,
<v Speaker 1>and then very quickly that number dwindled and now it's
<v Speaker 1>down to less than five thous was in a day
<v Speaker 1>or something like that at peak concurrence, which is not
<v Speaker 1>a perfect metric, but it's.
<v Speaker 2>What we have.
<v Speaker 1>I think we can probably assume things did not go
<v Speaker 1>to expectation to the expectation, and that's why this happened,
<v Speaker 1>I guess, Jan I mean, do you think that they're
<v Speaker 1>reacting too soon or is it like, oh no, they
<v Speaker 1>had those high expectations, that had a team built around those.
<v Speaker 1>That team built around that, and plans built around the
<v Speaker 1>idea that this thing was going to have millions of players,
<v Speaker 1>and instead it had far fewer than that. So they
<v Speaker 1>kind of had to just make this decision now two
<v Speaker 1>weeks after it launched.
<v Speaker 3>I know a lot of people are bringing up grub
<v Speaker 3>the placement in the TGAs, but I feel like that
<v Speaker 3>was Yeah, but I feel like that was such like
<v Speaker 3>a hail Mary last minute thing that they couldn't have
<v Speaker 3>factored that into the overall plans, right.
<v Speaker 1>I just don't think that that changes the fate of
<v Speaker 1>this game exactly. Put in there, take it out of there,
<v Speaker 1>keep it quiet. The plan was to like the original
<v Speaker 1>plan was to announce this game like Apex Legends. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>there are some previews that go live and then you
<v Speaker 1>could play the game almost immediately. And then then Keiley
<v Speaker 1>saw it and he's like, let's put it in the
<v Speaker 1>in the Game Awards. So the only thing I would
<v Speaker 1>have changed was it's not in the Game Awards.
<v Speaker 2>And I just I don't.
<v Speaker 1>Think, because I'm here, I think this game's problem is
<v Speaker 1>they missed out on the meta changes. The meta is
<v Speaker 1>sexy characters and Marvel Rivals and a ton of characters
<v Speaker 1>and probably some recognizable faces. But if it's not recognizable faces,
<v Speaker 1>very distinct faces. This thing felt like closer to law
<v Speaker 1>Breakers than to Marvel Rivals, and I and like, the
<v Speaker 1>characters are hot, but they're kind of like I remember
<v Speaker 1>seeing a post a while back of like there was
<v Speaker 1>a mod of resident evil village and someone put Lady
<v Speaker 1>Dematresque and some like lingerie, like very conventional, conventional lingerie.
<v Speaker 1>And there was like a reaction to this being like
<v Speaker 1>this is what normalis think think is hot. It's like, yeah, dog,
<v Speaker 1>that's what normalis thinks is hot, Like that's where we're at,
<v Speaker 1>and sort of being like I'm into like slightly less
<v Speaker 1>conventional hotness.
<v Speaker 2>It's like yeah that that I love that stuff.
<v Speaker 1>Too, I get it, But this game feels like we're
<v Speaker 1>gonna make, you know, the the alternative hotness the standard
<v Speaker 1>for our characters, and that's out of fashion. It's just
<v Speaker 1>out of fashion right now. What's in fashion is we're
<v Speaker 1>making We're putting a ton of makeup back on lar Craft.
<v Speaker 1>We are going to make all the new characters in
<v Speaker 1>Overwatch extremely hot with revealing clothing, and one of the
<v Speaker 1>first things you're going to see is the concept art
<v Speaker 1>for their bikini outfits that we're going to launch immediately
<v Speaker 1>like and this game is is wasn't doing any of that,
<v Speaker 1>And so people are going to be inherently less like
<v Speaker 1>interested to like figure out the nuances of how the
<v Speaker 1>game plays, because they just are less interested in the characters.
<v Speaker 2>That's my take on it. Sure, I don't know, Jan,
<v Speaker 2>what do you think? I think?
<v Speaker 3>In addition, Grub, it's just this is it. It's a
<v Speaker 3>very complicated game for your regular gamer to parse out
<v Speaker 3>and figure out. And I always say that, and I've
<v Speaker 3>been playing a lot of Deadlock on the side, but
<v Speaker 3>in my at least in my approach, I understand that
<v Speaker 3>Deadlock is also framed as a moba. I think in
<v Speaker 3>my assumptions of High Guard. I thought it was just
<v Speaker 3>another character shooter doing deathmatch style control point style matches,
<v Speaker 3>not that it was a full base defense invasion style
<v Speaker 3>of game. And the thing is, it feels completely fine,
<v Speaker 3>and I think that's just how I walked away with it.
<v Speaker 3>This game is completely fine. I do think this is
<v Speaker 3>like an incredibly fast reactionary maneuver grub similar to two
<v Speaker 3>XKO where yo, y'all gotta let this game breathe. I mean,
<v Speaker 3>maybe switching it to five y five can help it
<v Speaker 3>and save it. Maybe further down the line, it does
<v Speaker 3>pick up with a a different community online because a
<v Speaker 3>different game has a bad season or like a bad
<v Speaker 3>month or a poor launch. And I know, timing wise,
<v Speaker 3>this doesn't help with Deadlock picking up Steam and having
<v Speaker 3>a significant delC and it especially doesn't help out with
<v Speaker 3>Overwatch rebranding to just Overwatch again. But when you were
<v Speaker 3>making this style of game, you have to understand the
<v Speaker 3>run that you need significant amounts of runway in front
<v Speaker 3>of you to build up any type of momentum. And
<v Speaker 3>like I know a lot of folks are still kind
<v Speaker 3>of hung up on like the TGA placement. But I
<v Speaker 3>think if anything it helped it out right, because yeah,
<v Speaker 3>there was a curiosity, that's right.
<v Speaker 1>I think if anything, it was a it was a
<v Speaker 1>net positive despite all the backlash, because people wanted to
<v Speaker 1>go in there and be like, I'm gonna prove a
<v Speaker 1>Killi's wrong for having this be last, so I'm actually
<v Speaker 1>gonna play it and see how I feel.
<v Speaker 2>And it's like it had an opportunity to win people
<v Speaker 2>over in that moment.
<v Speaker 1>And then it's like, in my opinion, had the character's
<v Speaker 1>been like what people are into right now, they would
<v Speaker 1>have given the game weird gameplay a little bit more time. Instead,
<v Speaker 1>it was just this sort of like, Okay, you want
<v Speaker 1>me to learn all your specific systems, I've already learned
<v Speaker 1>the stuff for Deadlock, homie, I'm just going to go
<v Speaker 1>back to that.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, And like also, I don't know, it just felt
<v Speaker 3>very empty as well, grub like these big maps and
<v Speaker 3>you're going from point A to point B and then
<v Speaker 3>in that junction there is nothing to interact with in between,
<v Speaker 3>and I don't know, it just felt like an emptier
<v Speaker 3>game than it should have been. And I don't know
<v Speaker 3>if you can do the stealth or the surprise drop
<v Speaker 3>like an APEX legends anymore, especially if the game is
<v Speaker 3>as complicated as High Guard was or is like Apex Legends, Okay,
<v Speaker 3>cool squad of three ping away drop sick cool. With
<v Speaker 3>High Guard, there's it's so much more involved.
<v Speaker 2>What do you think the fade is for this in
<v Speaker 2>two XKO?
<v Speaker 1>In terms of two x KO, cut half the team
<v Speaker 1>and they said it's not going away. This game they're
<v Speaker 1>saying it's not going away. They have a core team
<v Speaker 1>to continue to innovate on it. Is it like they
<v Speaker 1>just try to have a big update in a little
<v Speaker 1>bit and try to bring people back at that point
<v Speaker 1>or do they slowly let them.
<v Speaker 2>Fade out and just you know that's the end.
<v Speaker 3>It's it's very hard to tell with Riot Grub because
<v Speaker 3>I agree like I don't think Riot initially thought that
<v Speaker 3>team fight tactics would blow up in the way that
<v Speaker 3>it did, but that has just become another staple or
<v Speaker 3>another pillar in their arsenal of games that I could
<v Speaker 3>see maybe letting the dust settle and then hoping that
<v Speaker 3>this game or two x KO finds its dedicated audience
<v Speaker 3>and continues to beat the drum of two x KO.
<v Speaker 3>I hope it sticks around like and not just for
<v Speaker 3>the sake of the devs and everything, But I hope
<v Speaker 3>it sticks around as like another option for like the
<v Speaker 3>fighting game community to perhaps slash onto.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>I think YEA Riot is like they probably will just
<v Speaker 1>get distracted by the next big thing, and this doesn't
<v Speaker 1>seem like it's going to turn into one of their
<v Speaker 1>staple franchises, so I think they lose interest to move
<v Speaker 1>on here. It's you know, this is former Apex Legends,
<v Speaker 1>Call of Duty, Titan Fall people, and there's some still there,
<v Speaker 1>and they're going to try to work on it. I
<v Speaker 1>could see them trying to be like, let's see if
<v Speaker 1>we can give this one more go with a smaller team,
<v Speaker 1>a more focused update, and maybe them pay some influencers
<v Speaker 1>to play it in a new season and just see
<v Speaker 1>if we can't get some juice at that point, I
<v Speaker 1>don't know, introduce some new characters, try some things. I
<v Speaker 1>think both of these do feel like they are probably
<v Speaker 1>not going to have that storyline of the big comeback
<v Speaker 1>where they figure things out. Instead it will be sort
<v Speaker 1>of a slow fizzle.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah. With High, I don't know what you do, because
<v Speaker 3>I mean, some people just don't like character shooters either,
<v Speaker 3>and that is a major component of the game that
<v Speaker 3>you have to have people engage with. And I know
<v Speaker 3>when we checked it out, Dan completely forgot that he
<v Speaker 3>had an alter and everything. But that has to go
<v Speaker 3>for a lot of folks as well. Where you were
<v Speaker 3>just choosing a character, if you're not choosing them for
<v Speaker 3>their abilities, you're choosing them for their look. And if
<v Speaker 3>the look isn't appealing to people either, then what are
<v Speaker 3>you playing the game for?
<v Speaker 2>Yep, we'll see.
<v Speaker 1>I think, you know, making games right now for this
<v Speaker 1>fickle audience has got to be sort of a Sissifian task.
<v Speaker 1>It's got to just feel like a nightmare. I do
<v Speaker 1>not and be anyone who's trying to like make a
<v Speaker 1>game like this for us. And I think a lot
<v Speaker 1>of people go, like, this game was never for me.
<v Speaker 1>I don't want this game. I've made that very queer.
<v Speaker 1>Well yeah, but games like this have made a lot
<v Speaker 1>of money, so and like people look, it's like what
<v Speaker 1>makes money, that's what people want.
<v Speaker 2>And you know, then you look over something like Mugenics, which.
<v Speaker 1>We'll talk about in a little bit, and it's like
<v Speaker 1>that just immediately pops off and explodes in popularity, and
<v Speaker 1>that's like we're also telling you we want this other stuff.
<v Speaker 1>I think I think buying the lottery ticket of making
<v Speaker 1>a big live service game is something that people are
<v Speaker 1>gonna have less and less patience for, and they're gonna
<v Speaker 1>be less and less sympathetic to the developers making them,
<v Speaker 1>because it does feel like we are screaming a little
<v Speaker 1>bit that we want something else.
<v Speaker 2>We already have enough of these games.
<v Speaker 1>We've already selected our our own live service shooter or whatever.
<v Speaker 2>Those are hobbies.
<v Speaker 1>Now you are not going to be able to replace Baseball,
<v Speaker 1>You're not gonna be able to replace Fortnite, So let's
<v Speaker 1>just maybe try something else. But again, these you know,
<v Speaker 1>people try these things and they spend years making them,
<v Speaker 1>and then this happens. It's got to be devastating. I
<v Speaker 1>do still feel for them. I'm still sympathetic.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, of course, totally one hundred percent sympathetic. And I
<v Speaker 3>don't know, Greb, this just does not fill me with
<v Speaker 3>the most confidence for a game like Marathon potential other
<v Speaker 3>games coming out, because it is just such an uphill
<v Speaker 3>battle at this point where it's almost a fluke where
<v Speaker 3>a game will take off like Art Graders or Helldivers too,
<v Speaker 3>and kind of like take over the cultural zeitgeist for
<v Speaker 3>a moment and then kind of be able to sustain
<v Speaker 3>that momentum. It's just so difficult. It's more like impossible
<v Speaker 3>to like go in with a live service game games
<v Speaker 3>as a service and expect to be a runaway success
<v Speaker 3>right out the gate and not have that understanding of like,
<v Speaker 3>all right, well we got the game out, now we've
<v Speaker 3>got to keep it out.
<v Speaker 1>Yep, all right, let's take a break. We'll come back.
<v Speaker 1>Plenty more headlines to get into. If you want to
<v Speaker 1>skip out on these, go to giant bomb dot com,
<v Speaker 1>slash join, become a premium member, get at free version
<v Speaker 1>of this show.
<v Speaker 2>And it's the video version, it's an audio version. Go
<v Speaker 2>ahead and do that.
<v Speaker 1>In the meantime, we will be right back. It's game
<v Speaker 1>ass mornings.
<v Speaker 2>We're back.
<v Speaker 1>Jeff Grubb, Janet Choa. Let's keep it going here, everybody,
<v Speaker 1>all right? From software owner reiterates Dusk Bloods is still
<v Speaker 1>coming this year, the exclusive Nintendo Switch two game. This
<v Speaker 1>is from Andy Robinson at VGC. From software owner, Kata
<v Speaker 1>Kawa has reiterated its intention to release both Elder Rings
<v Speaker 1>Tarnished Tarnished addition and new ip the Dusk Bloods for
<v Speaker 1>Nintendo switch To this year. Dusk Bloods was announced in
<v Speaker 1>Nintendo's first switch to direct a year ago, but little
<v Speaker 1>has been seen of it since. Elder Ring was do
<v Speaker 1>derive on the platform last year, but was delayed to
<v Speaker 1>allow for performance adjustments following critical hands on reports. Now,
<v Speaker 1>in Kata Kawa's latest earnings results, it's suggested that both
<v Speaker 1>games are on track to release this year. From Software
<v Speaker 1>This is a Quote currently has multiple titles in development
<v Speaker 1>in the development pipeline, including Elder Ring Tarnished Edition and
<v Speaker 1>the Dusk Bloods, both slated for a twenty twenty six
<v Speaker 1>release on Nintendo switch To. In a further investor Q
<v Speaker 1>and A, the corporate corporation also reiterated its intention to
<v Speaker 1>release Dusk Bloods as a Nintendo switch To exclusive. At
<v Speaker 1>this point, we have not We have yet to announce
<v Speaker 1>a specific release date. It will be sold on a
<v Speaker 1>joint basis with Nintendo Company Limited, with sales responsibilities divided
<v Speaker 1>by region. The title will only be available on the
<v Speaker 1>Nintendo Switch Too.
<v Speaker 2>You do you are you buying it?
<v Speaker 1>Because I still feel I feel like this is the
<v Speaker 1>kind of thing you say, because it's.
<v Speaker 2>Like you're hopeful if you're kata Kawa.
<v Speaker 1>But until that Elder Ring game comes out, I'm like,
<v Speaker 1>I'm not sure I'm buying that from Soft's going to
<v Speaker 1>be able to get their tech in order to get
<v Speaker 1>a game, even a game they're building for the Switch too,
<v Speaker 1>ready to go in a timely manner.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, Greb, I don't know if it fills me with
<v Speaker 3>the most confidence either. I mean, I know that from
<v Speaker 3>Soft is it's a very They're very system heavy games,
<v Speaker 3>and you would want to make sure that the systems
<v Speaker 3>are reliable because people are used to that that timing
<v Speaker 3>or that flow of how the game feels. And if
<v Speaker 3>the experience on the Switch too is not replicating or
<v Speaker 3>is the same feel, then I could see a lot
<v Speaker 3>of people bouncing off of it. And I not I'm
<v Speaker 3>worried about Dusk Bloods, but I am just still more
<v Speaker 3>and more curious about what is this game? Is this
<v Speaker 3>gonna be a night rain? What kind of experience should
<v Speaker 3>I be like expecting on the Switch to If this
<v Speaker 3>stays exclusive or I mean it's exclusive now, I could
<v Speaker 3>see it eventually heading to PC. Perhaps, Yeah, it's still
<v Speaker 3>fairly confident it rolls around in twenty twenty six. Maybe
<v Speaker 3>not in the near future, but the latter half of
<v Speaker 3>the year perhaps.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, you know, it wasn't in the Partner direct and Nintendo's,
<v Speaker 1>like I said, so that they're handling it with from software,
<v Speaker 1>so maybe it's more of a first party game in
<v Speaker 1>Nintendo's eyes, So show up in the next direct, But
<v Speaker 1>that will be telling to me. Whenever that next direct happens.
<v Speaker 1>You know that there's rumors that's happening next week. I
<v Speaker 1>don't think so, but one could happen in March, and
<v Speaker 1>I don't think we don't see it in that next direct,
<v Speaker 1>I will be worried at that point. And that goes
<v Speaker 1>for both elden Ring and Dust Bloods. But I think
<v Speaker 1>we should see both at the very least. Obviously we
<v Speaker 1>should get an update on elden Ring, but Dust Bloods
<v Speaker 1>I think should be there as well, and they should
<v Speaker 1>kind of like explain more about what the game is
<v Speaker 1>and kind of set that up.
<v Speaker 2>Now, if it's.
<v Speaker 1>Coming out in November, maybe it doesn't pop up there.
<v Speaker 1>But if it's coming out in November, That's why I'm
<v Speaker 1>worried about it delay, because it's so easy for them
<v Speaker 1>to go like I'm planning for it to come out
<v Speaker 1>in November. Oh no, we need more time now it's
<v Speaker 1>coming out next year. Sure, Yeah, so that'll that will
<v Speaker 1>tell me a lot.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, I'm still hopefully curious, grub. I was watching Mike
<v Speaker 3>Manatti play through Liza p last night on his personal stream,
<v Speaker 3>and then it just kind of start awakening my hunger
<v Speaker 3>for Soul's games and parrying and man, maybe I would
<v Speaker 3>like to parry things again in Bloodborn. And if I
<v Speaker 3>can't get Bloodborn, I'll I want something similar ish. And
<v Speaker 3>that's that's what a lot of us had assumed with
<v Speaker 3>Dusk Blood, that it was a bloodborne, but it's it's
<v Speaker 3>whatever from his making with vampires and such.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, I mean, you got that powerful new PlayStation that
<v Speaker 1>main Gear made you. Maybe get that Bloodborn run at
<v Speaker 1>sixty frames per second on that bad boy.
<v Speaker 2>That could be cool. I'd like to do the same thing.
<v Speaker 2>Jan It's it's I think it's time. All right, Let's
<v Speaker 2>see here, man, It's I'm like glancing up at the
<v Speaker 2>score every once in a while.
<v Speaker 1>Canada is beatinge check ya in the Winter Olympics, but
<v Speaker 1>check you is out shooting them at least so far.
<v Speaker 2>So interesting. Uh, okay, let's see here. Good luck to
<v Speaker 2>both teams. Uh keep going.
<v Speaker 3>Uh.
<v Speaker 1>There's a rumor and a leaker claims Pokemon fire Red
<v Speaker 1>and Leaf Green are going to return to the shop
<v Speaker 1>with home compatibility.
<v Speaker 2>That's interesting. This is FORMD Nintendo News.
<v Speaker 1>Two lakers have said that the Pokemon Company is gearing
<v Speaker 1>up to release the beloved Pokemon fire Red and leaf
<v Speaker 1>Green on the Nintendo Switch E Shop and that they
<v Speaker 1>will feature Pokemon Home compatibility, meaning to move and I
<v Speaker 1>mean you can move and store your Pokemon, Pokemon, Pokemon.
<v Speaker 1>The first leaker is you, who said that Pokemon fire
<v Speaker 1>Red and Leaf Green will come to Nintendo Switch. The
<v Speaker 1>second leaker is Centro, who posted that a different leaker
<v Speaker 1>said that these will be in an E Shop release
<v Speaker 1>and not part of the Nintendo Classics line and will
<v Speaker 1>have Pokemon Home compatibility. We will find out for certain
<v Speaker 1>on Pokemon Day on February twenty seventh. Do you think
<v Speaker 1>we will get this announcement? Jan they did put red
<v Speaker 1>and blue like standard versions on the E Shop and
<v Speaker 1>like yellow on the Switch.
<v Speaker 2>I believe, I think that's right. Maybe I'm thinking of
<v Speaker 2>like the three DS.
<v Speaker 3>I feel like it was the Virtual Console Grub.
<v Speaker 1>There's definitely like there was something along those lines. I
<v Speaker 1>was playing Yellow on something I'm not was that the
<v Speaker 1>Switch or the three DS? That was three DS? Thank
<v Speaker 1>you Bander. So they've done something similar before, but not
<v Speaker 1>on Switch yet. They've not done that with Fire Red
<v Speaker 1>and Leaf Green. They are pretty precious with these things.
<v Speaker 1>They have not put it on nso they like to
<v Speaker 1>sell them. These games are ancient now, but they know
<v Speaker 1>their value and they are going to continue to treat
<v Speaker 1>it that way.
<v Speaker 2>What do you think about this?
<v Speaker 3>Uh, if this is a no brainer, this is gonna
<v Speaker 3>this would do gangbusters. Grub Nostalgia is a hell of
<v Speaker 3>a drug, especially with the Pokemon audience, but also the
<v Speaker 3>mainline audience or just the general audience. I should say grub.
<v Speaker 3>Like I think Pocopia is gonna do numbers because it
<v Speaker 3>is not only yeah, an animal crossing like game or
<v Speaker 3>like one of those style of games, but you just
<v Speaker 3>have the Pokemon around and sometimes people just want to
<v Speaker 3>hang out and be in the world of Pokemon. And
<v Speaker 3>I think that's why that Super Bowl ad was actually
<v Speaker 3>very effective because it.
<v Speaker 2>Just reminded me of the Super Bowl ads.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah yeah, because also it was one of the ones
<v Speaker 3>that wasn't about AI or sports betting, and I know
<v Speaker 3>Jigglypuff is like betting on the over under on call
<v Speaker 3>sheet all the time.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, which real problem.
<v Speaker 3>But uh, you know Jigglypuff put put the phone away,
<v Speaker 3>decided to sing with.
<v Speaker 1>And Bruno Mars making songs together to pay off their
<v Speaker 1>gambling debts.
<v Speaker 3>Exactly. But I think this would this would be a
<v Speaker 3>no brainer to uh put out onto the switch. You
<v Speaker 3>would get people buying both versions and never playing either.
<v Speaker 2>They just wanted to have it.
<v Speaker 3>But having the home functionality is great grub because then
<v Speaker 3>you can theoretically bring Pokemon from the original g B
<v Speaker 3>A fire Red and leaf Green back into the switch
<v Speaker 3>to fire Red and leaf Green based off of home compatibility,
<v Speaker 3>which is I realized something I am still fucking paying
<v Speaker 3>for for years.
<v Speaker 2>Oh really, hell yeah, let's go.
<v Speaker 1>I never I never canceled my just Dance thing, so Jan,
<v Speaker 1>I am not one to judge. Okay, Jan, this, if
<v Speaker 1>this happens, it will clearly clearly be part of their
<v Speaker 1>thirtieth anniversary celebration for the Pokemon franchise. Lay out for
<v Speaker 1>me what you think the ideal thirtieth anniversary A realistic
<v Speaker 1>but ideal thirtieth anniversary celebration looks like including these two releases.
<v Speaker 3>In an ideal world. I'm gonna approach it from an
<v Speaker 3>ideal and realistic world, Grube, please, we will probably see
<v Speaker 3>more Pokemon Go related things. We will there will probably
<v Speaker 3>be a port. This makes sense for fire Red and
<v Speaker 3>Leaf Green because I don't see that being the biggest
<v Speaker 3>lift for them. Ideally, we would see some rumblings of
<v Speaker 3>what Generation ten would look like. They're probably going to
<v Speaker 3>talk about Pacopia more and start getting buzz around that.
<v Speaker 3>Maybe they will talk about another season of the anime,
<v Speaker 3>maybe a different offshoot show. If I had my way,
<v Speaker 3>Grub and things, we're trucking along properly. I want two things. One,
<v Speaker 3>I want the Detective Pikachu sequel already, or like another
<v Speaker 3>live action Pokemon movie because the original one did very well.
<v Speaker 3>The second thing I would want is an update on
<v Speaker 3>what is going on with Pokemon Champions, which is going
<v Speaker 3>to be their VGC two v two one v one
<v Speaker 3>competitive battling that Pokemon World is eventually going to transition
<v Speaker 3>over to. You know, we're probably also going to see
<v Speaker 3>stuff with the cards. We're probably going to see stuff
<v Speaker 3>with the other Pokemon mobile game. I forget which one
<v Speaker 3>that is called It's not heroesh.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, I don't remember. Someone chat will have it, I'm sure, yeah.
<v Speaker 3>Yes, And and you know what, we will also probably
<v Speaker 3>see there is some weird weirdo stuff like Pokemon's Sleep Again.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, yeah, I think masters that's what it is. Okay.
<v Speaker 1>I think you're right that that all that sounds like
<v Speaker 1>plausible and very likely. Is there anything like long shot
<v Speaker 1>stuff that you're kind of aching for or you would
<v Speaker 1>be like I would perk.
<v Speaker 3>Up for this, like another Let's Go title?
<v Speaker 2>I think sure, I agree.
<v Speaker 1>I just think for me an HD two D remake
<v Speaker 1>of one of the earlier gins, I would love it.
<v Speaker 1>Doesn't like if this is happening, though, I don't think that.
<v Speaker 1>I don't think the HD two D would happen as well.
<v Speaker 3>So well, oh, I think it was during the mic
<v Speaker 3>check you and I were talking about how technology is
<v Speaker 3>not gone the way we would like it to, specifically
<v Speaker 3>towards the aesthetics of it. I would love another one
<v Speaker 3>of those like little Pikachu things that they had for
<v Speaker 3>the g for the Game Boys, the Pokemon Mini. No,
<v Speaker 3>it was like you just had. It was basically a Tamagatchi,
<v Speaker 3>but with like a peak in it.
<v Speaker 1>Oh oh okay, so not like the little walker thing,
<v Speaker 1>not the step tracker. Okay, yeah, Toma gotcha a great
<v Speaker 1>uh and a Pikachi was very cute.
<v Speaker 2>My kid. I just went upstairs.
<v Speaker 1>She has a drawing where she's drawn she drew, or
<v Speaker 1>a paper where she drew like fifteen different Pikachus that
<v Speaker 1>just like happened.
<v Speaker 2>She's like back into Pokemon in some way.
<v Speaker 1>She took She has like a binder of like Pokemon cards,
<v Speaker 1>and they're mostly like the Pokemon cards she got from
<v Speaker 1>McDonald's or whatever. She took that to school to show
<v Speaker 1>off to her friends. I'm like, Okay, if anyone makes
<v Speaker 1>fun of you for not having cool Pokemon cards, you
<v Speaker 1>let me know and I'll take care of it. But uh, yeah,
<v Speaker 1>I thought that was pretty coodol as well. Okay, so okay,
<v Speaker 1>catching the next gin again.
<v Speaker 3>Here we go. Here's what it is. Nintendo also Pokemon.
<v Speaker 3>Why the fuck aren't I getting invited to these things? Huh?
<v Speaker 3>You get Jordan Midler over there. I also like Pokemon, right, what's.
<v Speaker 2>In Pokemon jail?
<v Speaker 3>I didn't know I was in Pokemon jail. You better
<v Speaker 3>not be anyway. Grub Audience at home. Maybe the Pokemon
<v Speaker 3>company can help me out here with something that I
<v Speaker 3>heavily desired for the switch too. Give me a fucking watch.
<v Speaker 2>Okay, the Pikachu watch, let's go, yep, give me that could.
<v Speaker 1>Be the Tamagatchi. And then it's like all the other
<v Speaker 1>stuff's happening on the head.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, you got a little like I'll buy that, even
<v Speaker 3>if it's a Hampleton watch.
<v Speaker 1>You uh, you've been looking at like smart watches right
<v Speaker 1>you're are you still leaning towards a pebble or what
<v Speaker 1>are you doing?
<v Speaker 3>Folks have been trying to convince me to get a
<v Speaker 3>garment just because of the miscllaneous other tracking that.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah stuff, the fitness stuff.
<v Speaker 3>But I will one hundred percent go for a Pokemon
<v Speaker 3>watch if it tracks me lifting weights and then it
<v Speaker 3>has like a little Tamagotchi style much champ or chop. Yeah,
<v Speaker 3>you Pokemon. These are three ideas we should get together.
<v Speaker 2>Baby.
<v Speaker 3>You know Valentine's Day. Valentine's Day is this weekend, but
<v Speaker 3>it's not too late to ask me.
<v Speaker 2>Jan Sometimes when you say cut the check, I think
<v Speaker 2>you're being facetious. One million percent should cut you to
<v Speaker 2>check on that one that's good shit, All right, let's
<v Speaker 2>keep going here.
<v Speaker 1>Assassin's Green Black Flag Remaster art book pops up on
<v Speaker 1>Amazon a game that hasn't been announced.
<v Speaker 2>Who knows what's happening with it.
<v Speaker 1>It's got an MSRP price blah blah blah, ig and
<v Speaker 1>scotta here.
<v Speaker 2>It's coming on March twenty fourth. I guess. I guess
<v Speaker 2>this game could still come out soon.
<v Speaker 1>They said they delayed a bunch of stuff, but this one,
<v Speaker 1>maybe this one pops up in the state of play today.
<v Speaker 2>I don't know, what do you think?
<v Speaker 3>Oh, I didn't think about this presence at all being
<v Speaker 3>on me neither, because it's.
<v Speaker 1>Like, I just like all that stuff is just on hiatus.
<v Speaker 1>I thought or they're just delaying everything. But I don't
<v Speaker 1>know that this book is still coming. Maybe there's still
<v Speaker 1>a chance that that game was just done and we'll
<v Speaker 1>just come out at some point in the next couple
<v Speaker 1>of weeks.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, that would be cool. I mean, we thought that
<v Speaker 3>the Prince of Persia game was for sure, for sure
<v Speaker 3>gonna drop maybe up two three weeks ago, that's right,
<v Speaker 3>So you know, or be surprised if this actually does
<v Speaker 3>come out and if it is a real thing. Just
<v Speaker 3>because I don't know what I could trust from you
<v Speaker 3>be soft at this point in crub.
<v Speaker 1>Right, this one just feels like, Okay, I get they
<v Speaker 1>think the Prince of Persius sands time isn't up to
<v Speaker 1>the quality standards, and we don't think the return on
<v Speaker 1>investment is going to be there, so let's give up whatever.
<v Speaker 1>I disagree that, and you announced that you kind of
<v Speaker 1>should stick to it just to like show that you're
<v Speaker 1>the kind of company that can do that. You're not
<v Speaker 1>the kind of company that will do that, you'll be
<v Speaker 1>soft whatever. We all feel bad about you, we don't
<v Speaker 1>like you, so go ahead and just do that. This
<v Speaker 1>is one where it's like I think if they deliver
<v Speaker 1>on it, it will have the return on investments, so
<v Speaker 1>they think it's probably worth doing, and maybe the quality
<v Speaker 1>is there. And if that's the situation all those other
<v Speaker 1>games getting delayed and or canceled, maybe that doesn't Maybe
<v Speaker 1>this is the one that actually sneaks through before they
<v Speaker 1>have to like have that long wait before something else
<v Speaker 1>comes out. Who knows if it's not in a state
<v Speaker 1>of play though, I don't know when it comes Yeah.
<v Speaker 3>Ah, is there like a major American holiday coming up?
<v Speaker 2>Yeah? Right. Yeah, I don't know that this man makes sense.
<v Speaker 3>I mean, I guess President's Day is next Monday, but
<v Speaker 3>I will.
<v Speaker 1>Be uh, I'll be curious to check it out again.
<v Speaker 1>I liked Black Flag quite a bit. All right, Let's
<v Speaker 1>see I did that one. Katakawa Final Sports is displaying
<v Speaker 1>still on for twenty six I put that in here twice.
<v Speaker 1>Mugenic Stebs make their budget back in three hours. Celebrate
<v Speaker 1>with cat shaped cake. Mugenics, the new release from Edmund
<v Speaker 1>McMillan and Tyre Tyler galle uh Glio, the indie dabs
<v Speaker 1>behind hit rogue, like The Binding of Isaac and all
<v Speaker 1>of its subsequent expansions, smashed through two hundred and fifty
<v Speaker 1>thousand copies sold in just twelve hours. In a tweet
<v Speaker 1>posted by Tyler, he screenshot at a post from twenty
<v Speaker 1>twenty three, where he explained it would need to sell
<v Speaker 1>that much for him to consider Mugenics a success. Shortly before,
<v Speaker 1>IGN reported the game had sold over one hundred and
<v Speaker 1>fifty thousand copies in six hours, and that McMillan's previous
<v Speaker 1>sales record came with the Binding of Isaac Rebirth at
<v Speaker 1>forty thousand in one day.
<v Speaker 2>Game is popping off.
<v Speaker 1>It's doing very well, so much so that it's got
<v Speaker 1>its own little controversy based on the weird voice cast
<v Speaker 1>that's got going on.
<v Speaker 2>Have you heard about this?
<v Speaker 3>No? I have not.
<v Speaker 1>They got a bunch of like Internet celebrities, that's something real.
<v Speaker 1>So they got Rivers Cuomo meowing and hissing in the game. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>but they also got like, I don't know, there's like
<v Speaker 1>some Zionist YouTubers or whatever, and so it's like and
<v Speaker 1>then there's like like trans icons in there and all
<v Speaker 1>these like there's some awesome people and then there's some
<v Speaker 1>shitty people and everyone's.
<v Speaker 2>Going like, what the hell is this? And to me
<v Speaker 2>it sounds like, I don't know.
<v Speaker 1>Ed McMillan is the kind of guy that I think
<v Speaker 1>just is an Internet humor guy, just sees Internet people
<v Speaker 1>and it's like I'm gonna see how I can get
<v Speaker 1>them in my game and doesn't think about it much
<v Speaker 1>beyond that. But yeah, people also they're all just meowing
<v Speaker 1>and uh, that's yeah, that's it. There's no like voice lines.
<v Speaker 1>It's a weird one.
<v Speaker 2>I don't know.
<v Speaker 3>Huh odd okay.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, practice that's how I'm like, I don't really know
<v Speaker 1>what to do with this one.
<v Speaker 2>I also just don't have the energy for a lot
<v Speaker 2>of these.
<v Speaker 1>Anymore, where it's like I'm I'm not like like jumping
<v Speaker 1>to play mugenics myself just because the look is not
<v Speaker 1>my thing right now. So that's part of it where
<v Speaker 1>it's like if I was into this and was bummed
<v Speaker 1>out because someone I thought was real shitty was in
<v Speaker 1>there and I was hearing their mews a bunch, I
<v Speaker 1>get it, Like I get people like being like, oh
<v Speaker 1>this sucks, but also I just don't have the energy
<v Speaker 1>for it and don't really know what to do about it.
<v Speaker 1>I guess go ask them to patch out these mews
<v Speaker 1>that don't really amount to much.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, I I actually I don't know what to do
<v Speaker 3>about this crub because I just it's huh okay, yeah
<v Speaker 3>fuck Zionists still uh huh.
<v Speaker 1>But like there's a there's a fun like it's like
<v Speaker 1>there's like this list of all the people in there,
<v Speaker 1>and you go from one name of the next, and
<v Speaker 1>it's such whiplash. It's like, oh my, how do like say, Obviously,
<v Speaker 1>now these people were in a booth together or something.
<v Speaker 1>They probably just recorded themselves on a phone and texted
<v Speaker 1>the things to the team, like, that's probably what this
<v Speaker 1>amounted to. I don't think they got rivers Cuomo like
<v Speaker 1>at a day rate or something like that. It's bizarre,
<v Speaker 1>but the game, it is like, this is the kind
<v Speaker 1>of thing where it's like this game is just immediately
<v Speaker 1>a smash success, and a big part of that is
<v Speaker 1>people have been looking forward to it for a very
<v Speaker 1>long time, and Binding of Isaac has had a lot
<v Speaker 1>of years to build up a lot of good will
<v Speaker 1>where people are just like, this is one of the
<v Speaker 1>best games ever, and yeah, I think still a little
<v Speaker 1>surprise at this game is just skyrocketing right out of
<v Speaker 1>the gate.
<v Speaker 3>I mean Binding of Isaac had longer legs than I
<v Speaker 3>initially anticipated it having, Like I didn't think I bounce
<v Speaker 3>off of the game very quickly grubbed because I just
<v Speaker 3>hated I would looked and was not a fan of it.
<v Speaker 3>But that game has had such a long life, even
<v Speaker 3>for streamers that are trying to just break apart every
<v Speaker 3>single aspect of the game. I'm wondering in the Mugenics
<v Speaker 3>voice acting controversy, could it be something that the devs
<v Speaker 3>had asked people of many years ago and just had
<v Speaker 3>that sitting around before they knew that these people were poopy.
<v Speaker 1>Definitely, But I think there's something like of now those
<v Speaker 1>people are kind of like tweeting about it or talking
<v Speaker 1>about it on their content, So it's like it feels
<v Speaker 1>like it's a little bit of a oh these.
<v Speaker 2>People are are They're.
<v Speaker 1>Getting their audience to go play this game, which is
<v Speaker 1>also like the one of the metas right now, that
<v Speaker 1>seemed to be the thing that helped Dispatch right they
<v Speaker 1>like got really attached to the critical role people, and
<v Speaker 1>that seemed to roll that game into an immediate success
<v Speaker 1>because they just played to that audience. And people are
<v Speaker 1>kind of seeing some some similarities here. But again, like
<v Speaker 1>I'm not personally keeping up with this all that well.
<v Speaker 1>I just thought I would throw it out there and
<v Speaker 1>acknowledge that it's happening.
<v Speaker 2>Again, it's it's just me, hows so.
<v Speaker 1>And I don't think that these people are making any
<v Speaker 1>real money from this game, Like it all mostly seems
<v Speaker 1>like just favors to the developer. And if they were paid,
<v Speaker 1>like how much would you be paid for him? You know,
<v Speaker 1>I don't know one hundred bucks. Like it's hard for
<v Speaker 1>me to get two worked up. Although I don't want
<v Speaker 1>to hear Ethan Klein yelling in a game.
<v Speaker 2>Sure, yes, I get it. Yeah yeah, Oh, by I don't.
<v Speaker 3>We don't need to talk about that person.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, exactly. All right, let's see here our last story.
<v Speaker 1>Hideo Kojuma says he talked to Vince Sampella about making
<v Speaker 1>a metal gear shooter at Respawn.
<v Speaker 2>He says they talked a bunch.
<v Speaker 1>Of times, and he kind of was speaking during a
<v Speaker 1>video package at Dice twenty twenty six, uh, mentioning like
<v Speaker 1>that in a Remembering a Titan thing, he was like, Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>we had a bunch of conversations. There's a couple of
<v Speaker 1>things here. It's like this was probably never gonna amount
<v Speaker 1>to anything. And it's also an example of one of
<v Speaker 1>the things I always said, which is people are always
<v Speaker 1>talking to.
<v Speaker 2>Each other all the time about everything.
<v Speaker 1>So like when people like rumors pop up of like
<v Speaker 1>there was conversations around this, and it's like, yeah, people
<v Speaker 1>in the industry talk to each other all the time
<v Speaker 1>about everything, and they always say we should work together
<v Speaker 1>and what if we did this, and then that stuff
<v Speaker 1>is very cheap and easy to do. But also it's
<v Speaker 1>it's fun to imagine, like what a Respawn metal Gear
<v Speaker 1>shooter could have looked like that would have been really
<v Speaker 1>interesting to see.
<v Speaker 2>I would have loved that.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, and of course, you know, rest in peace once
<v Speaker 3>again to Vince Amberella. This would have been an interesting
<v Speaker 3>mix of these two worlds. I would have been very
<v Speaker 3>down for this, especially trying to adapt Kojima's sensibilities into
<v Speaker 3>a multiplayer shooter that is also supposed to feel good
<v Speaker 3>as a shooter.
<v Speaker 1>Right, Like it's like, you know, you think of Middle
<v Speaker 1>Gear Rising, and like, okay, take that, take that as
<v Speaker 1>those sensibilities put into a character action game. I'll take
<v Speaker 1>those sensibilities put it into a Titan Fall like so
<v Speaker 1>I could see that. I could see that working really well.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah you have to. I forget what it's called. But
<v Speaker 3>in Metal Gear Solid five, when you take out an enemy,
<v Speaker 3>you just stick them on a parachute and you, just
<v Speaker 3>like Pokemon, capture them away to your naval base or
<v Speaker 3>you're like flotilla. That'd be fun to just do to
<v Speaker 3>people after you get them or boop them. Any multiplayer shooter.
<v Speaker 1>Uh huh, absolutely all right, man, I could tell them
<v Speaker 1>sick jan Last time I looked at the clock, it
<v Speaker 1>was like eleven forty and now it's like twenty minutes
<v Speaker 1>just disappearing.
<v Speaker 2>I'm like, I have no idea where it went.
<v Speaker 1>All right, let's start wrapping this up. Then let's get
<v Speaker 1>to the poll question from yesterday. I'm going to bring
<v Speaker 1>up the latest results, which I have right over here,
<v Speaker 1>refreshing the page. Though, are you happy with the current
<v Speaker 1>state of Silent Hill. I think there was a time
<v Speaker 1>where you would ask this and everyone been like, I
<v Speaker 1>love those games and absolutely not, I will never be
<v Speaker 1>happy with the state. Well, eighty three percent of people
<v Speaker 1>respond to this now say they are happy with the
<v Speaker 1>state of Silent Hell. Seventeen percent are still true Silent
<v Speaker 1>Hell fans and say no, well, we'll see if that continues.
<v Speaker 1>You know, they had that town fall.
<v Speaker 2>I can't remember the name of the game, the one
<v Speaker 2>from Anna Pirna that's coming soon.
<v Speaker 1>They're gonna have us a Silent Held transmission after the
<v Speaker 1>state of play today, so we'll probably show up in
<v Speaker 1>the state of play and then tell us even more
<v Speaker 1>about that game.
<v Speaker 2>So maybe there's even more reasons the reasons to be excited.
<v Speaker 1>And it's like, even if that's not gonna hit, well,
<v Speaker 1>Blooper delivered a pretty good remake and you can kind
<v Speaker 1>of count on them to do that again with Silent
<v Speaker 1>Hill one, which they're doing next.
<v Speaker 2>All right, new poll question. Have you tried me? Jennis?
<v Speaker 2>Yes or no?
<v Speaker 1>With the results of that, talk about it on the
<v Speaker 1>show tomorrow here on giant bombs speaking a giant bomb.
<v Speaker 1>We're gonna have that talk over later later today after
<v Speaker 1>we have Abby Russell on the voicemail dump truck at
<v Speaker 1>the normal time. Look out for all that anything else
<v Speaker 1>we should mention jan.
<v Speaker 3>Quick look forward. Mario tennis fever went up earlier today,
<v Speaker 3>Grubb and Dan visited Princess Daisy at her bedside to
<v Speaker 3>make sure that she was okay passing on.
<v Speaker 2>Uh huh.
<v Speaker 3>We're gonna get to passionate.
<v Speaker 1>I someone said that the chicken crossing the road joke,
<v Speaker 1>the real punchline one which I never got it, like
<v Speaker 1>why did the chicken cross the road to get to
<v Speaker 1>the other side? And I was like, oh, okay, so
<v Speaker 1>it's just a bad joke. It's so bad for the
<v Speaker 1>other side. He's going to get hit by a car
<v Speaker 1>and die and he's going to go to the other side.
<v Speaker 1>And I did not get that for.
<v Speaker 2>Forty two years, So I think I'm just dumb. Yeah, exactly.
<v Speaker 3>You know, I'm gonna say that that is a newer
<v Speaker 3>interpretation of that joke.
<v Speaker 2>You think, so, I don't know.
<v Speaker 1>I hope so, because I did not get that that
<v Speaker 1>was a kid when I first heard it, and then
<v Speaker 1>you're just like lodging your brain in that same space
<v Speaker 1>where it's like, oh, okay, to get to the other side.
<v Speaker 1>It's a you know, it's a it's a non joke
<v Speaker 1>and that's what makes it funny. But apparently it's apparently
<v Speaker 1>there's meaning there.
<v Speaker 2>I don't know.
<v Speaker 1>All right, So we did the new poll question. We're
<v Speaker 1>talking about what's happening, Like you said, there's quick look,
<v Speaker 1>there's a grub snacks happening.
<v Speaker 2>Nine Lives went up. We'll have a new nine Lives
<v Speaker 2>next week.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, everyone has inspired me with all the premium content.
<v Speaker 3>I'm going to drop this after the Smell Down Truck
<v Speaker 3>is out. And this is not going to be a
<v Speaker 3>thing that I do every week. But I recorded myself
<v Speaker 3>listening to and selecting all of the calls for this
<v Speaker 3>week's episode, and there is.
<v Speaker 1>Sad fun and I may be a little bit zooted
<v Speaker 1>during it, but sweet.
<v Speaker 3>So if your calls do not make it on the show.
<v Speaker 3>I did listen to them, and I just it's a
<v Speaker 3>fun peek behind the curtain. I think for folks to
<v Speaker 3>know what goes into the selection process, So that will
<v Speaker 3>be for premium members only. I'll figure out where.
<v Speaker 2>That's a good time, Okay, fantastic, I love that. All right,
<v Speaker 2>with all that out of the way, we'll see you
<v Speaker 2>guys later.
<v Speaker 1>For the voicemail dump truck, Jan, thank you so much
<v Speaker 1>for hanging out with me today and talk about video games.
<v Speaker 2>Man, I really appreciate it.
<v Speaker 3>It's the only way to start a Thursday feel better grub.
<v Speaker 2>Thanks. Yeah, I'm hanging in there.
<v Speaker 1>I'm kind of like starting to get a little bit
<v Speaker 1>of a headache now too, so there's another one to
<v Speaker 1>add on top of how I'm feeling. But hey, I
<v Speaker 1>was happy to do the show. Thank you all for
<v Speaker 1>listen name, thank you all for watching. It's worth doing
<v Speaker 1>it for you because you're the best audience in gaming.
<v Speaker 1>Until next time, I have a good one. Take care
<v Speaker 1>of yourself and goodbye.
