Speaker 1: Reality with the King is hosted by me, Carlos King. I'm an executive producer who have produced some of your favorite shows from the Real Housewives in Atlanta, New Jersey and my own creation, The Love and Marriage Franchise and Bell Collective. Every episode we recap reality television from the Real Housewives Franchise to The Bachelor or Selling Sunset, in addition to celebrity guests, whether in the unscripted space or scripted as well.

00:00:35
Speaker 2: Thank you all for joining us on this emergency episode. You have Dustin Ross and myself where we are going to talk about what has been trending on Twitter since last night, and that is the Basketball Wives situation that happened between Jackie Christie and her daughter Chantelle. I said, before we get into that actual moment, you and I have been watching Basketball Wives for so many years, the Miami version, the La version.

00:01:10
Speaker 3: They decided to collapse both and just make it into one.

00:01:14
Speaker 2: And Jackie Christi to me, is like the face of this new sort of like reboot.

00:01:19
Speaker 3: If you will love the show.

00:01:21
Speaker 2: And what I want to talk to you first about is what are your thoughts on this season overall? Because I'm fully caught up this is one show that I have made sure to maybe not watch live because we tape our show on my day, so I do watch it the next day. But Basketballise this season has been appointment television.

00:01:43
Speaker 4: It absolutely has it. Not just this season, Carlos last season as well. They're on a two season run and two seasons high. There were things I like and things I didn't like. But it's been good nonetheless. And last season I really took a pause and was like, Okay, Basketball Wives again, this shit was good.

00:02:01
Speaker 5: Brooke was there last season.

00:02:03
Speaker 4: The ladies looked like Basketball Wives like we remember them looking, you know what I mean? It just was good last season and this season has been good too, So I haven't missed an episode. I've watched Basketball Wives, even through the weird pandemic episodes where they were filming in two houses. I've watched Basketball Watch Miami from season one, episode one. I watched Basketball Wives La from season one episode one. And I've definitely kept up with the new iteration of the show. So hell yeah, I remember every Yeah.

00:02:36
Speaker 2: When you saw that Jackie Christie's daughter was joining the show, what did you think we were expecting? Because Dustin, when I interviewed Jackie Christie. No one knows this, so this is my first time saying this. Okay, exclusive exclusive, you guys get Tuesday exclusive. I interviewed Jackie Christie. This is no live rain drops. I interviewed her ten minutes before the trailer came out.

00:03:08
Speaker 5: Wow, okay, okay.

00:03:11
Speaker 2: And in the trailer we saw the sort of friction between her and Chantelle, her daughter, and we saw how the trailer ended with Jackie, you know, doing that and it faded to black. So I'm on the way to the interview to see the legend Jackie Christie, and I'm watching the trailer and I could tell that Jackie just watched it too. If you watch my interview with Jackie, you know, Jackie's a fire, cracking all those things. But I could tell she was. She was in a different space, a different kids space. And that's why, guys, if you watch my Jackie Christie exclusive, you would see a woman that wasn't to me herself.

00:03:58
Speaker 3: It was a fun interview.

00:03:59
Speaker 2: She was right, but she was very careful with her words, and she also just she was very distracted. And I do believe it was because when you're filming, you don't know what's going to be shown. And I think her surprise was the fact that, oh shit, this is about to go down. But Dustin, when you saw the trailer and you love her daughter was joining the show, what was your initial thoughts?

00:04:29
Speaker 5: This is a recipe for disaster. That was what I thought.

00:04:32
Speaker 4: I knew it was only one place that that could go her being cast on this show, and that was straight to hell. Remember Chantelle, this is not her first appearance. First of all, Chantela is absolutely beautiful, right, that gorgeous, beautiful girl. She's articulate, she knows how to express herself clearly, and you can understand the words that she's saying. And she arrives at the point of her conversation, whatever the point is, she gets there right, So we appreciate that. She also has a beautiful, beautiful baby boy that we got to see this season.

00:05:07
Speaker 5: She's married.

00:05:08
Speaker 4: Now, this is a new version of Jackie Christie's daughter. This is Chantale and the fullness of her personality. Right, But I remember when Chantelle was on the show previously.

00:05:19
Speaker 5: We all know.

00:05:20
Speaker 4: Jackie has a checkered past with a lot of rumors and allegations and shit. When it comes to her relationship with her oldest daughter, Takari and also when it comes to her relationship with Chantale. And I remember when Chantelle appeared on Basketball Wives and had a full sit down with Laura Govin where she was discussing her relationship with her mother and discussing her mother's character and speaking negatively about her mother to Laura. And last season, Laura Govin actually apologized to Jackie about having that conversation and filming that scene. This isn't the first introduction we had to Chantale, nor is it the first introduction had we had to Chantelle having a problem with her mother.

00:06:00
Speaker 5: So I already.

00:06:02
Speaker 4: Knew when I saw her being cast, I saw no positive outcome whatsoever.

00:06:10
Speaker 5: Yeah.

00:06:10
Speaker 2: No, I knew that if you got her daughter on the show based on the scenes that Dustin has outlined. Because what we're no stranger to if you are true Basketball Wives fans is Chantell has been on the show before. Chantelle has always made accusations that she didn't have the best childhood. Chantale spoke, they were in a therapy session, right Dustin, with Chantale, the other daughter and Jackie. They were talking and of course I'm paraphrasing, but Chantelle felt that Jackie wasn't present as a mother. Jackie felt, you have a great place to stay, your Grandma's down the hall or whatever.

00:06:55
Speaker 3: You know, you have food on the table, you have everything.

00:06:57
Speaker 2: And Chantelle's gripe at that time, this is years ago, was we didn't feel like you were a present mother.

00:07:03
Speaker 3: We wanted you, we didn't want the material.

00:07:05
Speaker 2: Things, and Jackie was like, I thought, that's what you wanted, which Dustin, I want to dissect there. I think for a lot of parents, especially in our community, when you do grow up with lack, you do overcompensate it when you have children by giving them everything. And I do believe that what Chantal was trying to tell Jackie at the time, this is not this week's episode.

00:07:31
Speaker 3: God, we were talking.

00:07:32
Speaker 2: About years ago because we have to get the backstory to understand where things led up to the altercation and tells gripe to me was always about Jackie not being a present mother to her and that's all I got from it. Yes, she did talk about some colorism, how she felt that her oldest sister was dark skinned and at the time was not, in her words, in shape, and she ed that Jackie. She said to so Laura that Jackie would have the oldest daughter run on the treadmill and Chantaba have to watch her sister do it. And she said that to Laura, but she did not, and you're talking, I'm wrong, Dustin. She never said those things to Jackie's face.

00:08:17
Speaker 5: We never saw her say them on the show.

00:08:19
Speaker 4: We never saw her say them to Jackie's face, but we did see her express that there was some problems or a rift in their relationship. Obviously, and listen the shit show that we saw last night, because that's what that was. That didn't just come out of nowhere. That type of behavior, right, that type of communication that we saw last night is rooted from something. So whether I agree with what she said or not, I do recognize that it's coming from somewhere. There's a problem, a serious problem somewhere in their relationship.

00:08:50
Speaker 5: But heard what you just asked.

00:08:52
Speaker 4: Yes, that is what happened back when we previously saw Chantel on the show.

00:08:58
Speaker 2: So Raindrops, the reason why wanted to bring that up is because I'm trying to start the history of what the television show audiences I've seen, and that was it.

00:09:08
Speaker 3: Now I'm going someplace with that.

00:09:10
Speaker 2: So again, that's the only thing we saw with Chantelle's presence on the show was accusations of colorism and accusations of Jackie being an absent mother. Fast forward to Chantelle being a full time cast.

00:09:25
Speaker 3: Member this season.

00:09:27
Speaker 2: The season started off with Jackie being this doting grandmother and.

00:09:33
Speaker 3: Chantelle have this very interesting dynamic.

00:09:36
Speaker 2: Albeit you know, they they it's not joyous, but it wasn't dark, but they were They were fine. Everything appeared to be fine and Dustin I'm trying to reflect on where.

00:09:57
Speaker 3: Did things go from from.

00:10:00
Speaker 5: Bad to hell?

00:10:02
Speaker 4: Well, listen, first of all, based on this season, I can't tell you. I think that what we saw was Chantelle come on this show with an agenda. Chantel came on this show to challenge her mother in some sort.

00:10:15
Speaker 5: Of way, whatever way it was. She came on this show to embarrass her mother.

00:10:19
Speaker 4: If conflict did arise, I don't think she set out to sort of start anything, but if it went there, she was willing to take it to hell and cross boundaries of disrespect.

00:10:29
Speaker 5: That were shocking to watch. Right.

00:10:34
Speaker 4: We also saw her she broke a lot of black codes, you know what I'm saying.

00:10:38
Speaker 5: With the way that she kind of engaged with her mama.

00:10:40
Speaker 4: This season letting these people have strong opinions about problems between you and your mama. Letting these girls sit up here and not only have an opinion, voice the opinion, and then challenge and confront your mama about some shit between you and her. When they're by girls, I mean Britney Renner okay, and the girl Denise right, both of them set up there all seasoned and disrespected the fuck out of Jackie Christy in front of chantal. Listen, I've been upset with my parents before. I've had tough conversations with my parents before. But that shit right there, letting somebody cuss your mama and your daddy out, Carlos, I love you with all my heart, bro, and you know I got your back to the end, But me being your friend does not look like me cussing your father or your mother, you know, for the sake of our conversation out if you had a problem with them, That's not what friendship looks like. You have a respect and a reverence for other people's parents. That's just black code. That's the way it worked. Also, when you do have an issue with your adult you and you're an adult child and you have an issue, that you want to discuss that may be kind of tough to talk about with your parents. There's a way that you do it, you know what I'm saying. There's a way that you do it. There's a way that you can say things and assert yourself and do all of those things without crossing certain lines of disrespect.

00:12:02
Speaker 5: And I don't care what nobody says.

00:12:04
Speaker 4: Jackie Christy has irritated the fuck out of me from day one of my introduction to her on Basketball Wives La.

00:12:11
Speaker 5: She has gotten on my last nerves.

00:12:13
Speaker 4: Great TV, polarizing figure, can't take your eyes off of her, but she's gotten on my last damn nerves. Okay, However, right is right and wrong is wrong. And Chantelle Christy sitting on that television screen last night, calling her mama all kind of bitches and holes, telling her mother that her man getting on a woman a woman level with her mama, telling her that's why your man is gonna leave you and he don't love you, talking about her own father, telling her her kids don't love her. All that shit was unnecessary. I didn't like her calling her Jackie, Okay, I didn't like that. I didn't like her getting up and again I'm not saying that she doesn't have a valid reason to be upset with her mom.

00:12:55
Speaker 5: It's okay to be upset with your mama.

00:12:57
Speaker 4: But what we saw last night that was so typically associated with white people. Shit, you know what I'm saying. She was on there acting like one of the fucking Menindez brothers last night. What's next? You know what I'm saying, how far are you gonna go with this? Getting up, chasing your mama down hallways, cussing her out? And I'm gonna tell you one more thing, Jackie Christy, don't mind showing her ass on that camera cussing whoever, however the fuck out wherever? She held back all season and she never engaged with her daughter in that way on the show. She disengaged and was walking out of scenes. That's not anything we've ever seen from Jackie Christie before. And I don't have children, but you can't tell me that was not her saying, you know what, I'm not finna do this with my.

00:13:45
Speaker 5: Daughter on TV.

00:13:46
Speaker 4: Her being cast was not a good idea unless she was gonna come on here and give these ladies hell with her mama as a duo.

00:13:53
Speaker 5: We don't.

00:13:54
Speaker 4: It didn't look right. We didn't like seeing it. Nobody enjoyed it.

00:13:57
Speaker 5: Nobody.

00:13:58
Speaker 4: Nobody watched that scene and said, that's right, girl, talk to your mama like that.

00:14:02
Speaker 5: Nobody Carlos and my I mean no, I.

00:14:06
Speaker 2: Mean listen, okay, I mean, just like last night, I agree with everything you're saying. I don't know Chantill based on what I've seen. Chantill has trauma based on whatever her experience was with her mother, and I accept that that's her experience.

00:14:28
Speaker 3: What I realized through therapy and.

00:14:30
Speaker 2: Just talking to people working on these shows is you can grow up in the same house and have a different experience.

00:14:38
Speaker 3: Yeah, other siblings.

00:14:40
Speaker 2: Siblings can grow up in the same household and have a different experience.

00:14:44
Speaker 3: I'm with Dustin. My father and I.

00:14:47
Speaker 2: Did not have the greatest relationship growing up. I was very honest to you guys that you know I'm the first. I'm not the first gay person, honey, I'm the first one who came out.

00:15:00
Speaker 3: I was another story child. I'm the person. I don't don't have drama.

00:15:13
Speaker 1: This is reality with the King, and I'm Carlos King.

00:15:16
Speaker 3: Let's get back into the show. I'm the first gay person my family to actually come.

00:15:23
Speaker 2: Off the closet okay, and my father, being a very disciplinarian, extremely masculine, alpha black man, was was that. It wasn't the bate the greatest. But for the record, ever beat me for being gay. I want to make that clear. But we we definitely weren't close growing God. Despite all of that, I would never disrespect Gregory King Senior on any You can't pay me enough money to disrespect my father. I had a huge platform and I I can say what I want to say at my big age. I'm never going to talk crazy about my experience with my father.

00:16:08
Speaker 3: For anyone's money.

00:16:09
Speaker 2: No money can pay me to do that to my parents, my siblings, my niece and nephews. I mean, you could pay me for a few cousins to be exposed. But you know, but what I'm saying is this, as much as I grew up with my nine siblings and we all had a different experience with our father, I had a very tough one. However, I actually spoke to my dad and said, this is our issue. I'm in my thirties, Dustint, and my father said to me, I never knew you felt that way, and I'm sorry, and we've been good Man so Dustin's cooking in the sense of to Jackie's credit. For the past five episodes, Jackie has got up and left any sort of indication that there was going to be an altercation with her daughter. And I'm as much as I love the girls on the show, I am disappointed that no one said, guys, this is a family shit, and you have to stand up and say I'm.

00:17:17
Speaker 3: Not getting involved in this.

00:17:18
Speaker 2: Brittany, I don't know you personally, I love you, but I felt like you were trauma bonding with Chantale, and based on your own situation with your mother, I felt that you you added some hot soft Paprika Lori's garlic to the gumbo of mess that Chantelle is dealing with her daughter, and you empowered, I'm gonna call it, Britney, empowered Chantal to be disrespectful more to Jackie because and the reason why I had to bring off up to Steve, because I was going to some place with this Chantelle. If you felt that way about your mama, you had opportunity tying to say that five seven years, five seasons ago.

00:18:05
Speaker 3: You had opportunity to say that to her in the opening scene.

00:18:09
Speaker 2: To me, it wasn't until you were a gone by Brittany and Denise that you thought impover and the other girls were. Y'all were so mean to Jackie that whatever Jackie did as a parent is between her and Chantel. But y'all should never have gotten involved.

00:18:27
Speaker 5: Say Carlos, stay the funk out of it.

00:18:29
Speaker 4: Brittany, you made it and it wasn't your place, and somebody should have checked Brittany Renner the minute she ended up opening her mouth and opining on a situation between that mother and that daughter. I respect Brittany's personal story right, Obviously, she has a fractured and broken relationship with her mother, who she referred to as toxic and was visibly crying and shaken and affected by thinking about those experiences.

00:18:54
Speaker 5: Respect that give you room for that.

00:18:56
Speaker 4: That does not give you license to cuss Jackie Christie out because you mad at your goddamn mama. That was fucked up. That was wrong, and she had no place doing that. Not only did she have no place opining on it, she had no place standing up cussing Jackie Christie out trying to fight her because she had an opinion on something between Jackie Christie and her daughter Shantale that was completely out of line. That girl Denise too. That's why I was so glad when Evelyn checked her ass last week at that table. Finally, finally, somebody had to tell her to shut the fuck up. You got so much to say about something that you should not be involved in, and it's so infuriating to watch again. Jackie Christie Haint never been my favorite person on this show.

00:19:38
Speaker 5: But it's a way to do it. Chantale.

00:19:41
Speaker 4: You want to check your mama, you want to talk to your mama, you want to work your issues out with your mama on camera, do it, but do it with you and her. Don't involve these other women in this matter that is deeply personal to.

00:19:55
Speaker 5: Me, who don't like her, who can't stand her, and are using you. You such a market. We don't even realize how they're using you in.

00:20:02
Speaker 4: This case, and on a show where family daughters, children especially have always been the line that you don't cross. Evelyn and Jackie were at odds for years because the comments that Jackie made concerning Evelyn's daughter Snise. I was surprised by Evelyn having such a strong opinion.

00:20:22
Speaker 5: Oh, if Jackie come down here is gonna be war.

00:20:24
Speaker 4: Having anything to say, because Evelyn is so close with her daughter, so why would you even involve yourself in this shit that's going on between Jackie and Chantale.

00:20:32
Speaker 5: We'll give Brandy her credit.

00:20:34
Speaker 4: Brandy did speak up throughout the season and say, yeah, I need to stay out of this. This is between the mother and daughter, and then Chanteal would argue with her or whatever.

00:20:42
Speaker 5: But that shit was fucked up.

00:20:44
Speaker 4: Brittany made it one hundred percent words. She was totally out of line speaking to Jackie Christie like that, totally out of line, even involving herself period, Totally out of line, completely, Chantel, You're entitled to your feelings about your mama. We don't know what happened other than what we saw on camera, and I'm gonna take your word for it, right because people do have real issues with their parents as an adult child. However, how the fuck ever, fucking Basketball Wives is not the stage to work that out on, and if you do so, choose to do it there, do it just between you and your mama. Y'all can fight and argue like cats and dogs within certain boundaries, of course, alone, but once you involve these other people just for the sake of a show, come on man, that was wrong, and I just I'm from a certain I just I'm just that just violated my personal the constitution of my blackness. You know what I'm saying, It violated it because we just don't do We do not talk to our parents about that. We just don't. We don't talk not about We don't talk to our parents like that. And then even if you lose control and the heat of the moment, if you into with your parents, you might get passionate like that and lose control. But the getting up, following her out of scenes, cussing her out, following Jackie down hallways, cussing her out, going downstairst, inviting everybody to discuss it, and then painting yourself the victim when you went up there and antagonize your mama.

00:22:16
Speaker 5: Let's not even talk about getting physical.

00:22:19
Speaker 3: Who knows? Well, yeah, who in.

00:22:23
Speaker 5: The fuck pushes they?

00:22:24
Speaker 2: Mama?

00:22:27
Speaker 5: When did we start doing that?

00:22:29
Speaker 2: And I think before that we get to that dust stat because I do want to harp on what you said too, because I agree with everything you're saying. Let the record show I'm with Dustin. I believe Chantelle's experience as a child. I believe her when she said this that has been her experience.

00:22:52
Speaker 3: The problem is this based on the structure of a TV show.

00:22:59
Speaker 2: Jackie Christie is the force multiplier, a legend, and she knows how to work those cameras and work the system.

00:23:05
Speaker 3: She understands what.

00:23:06
Speaker 2: This is and and Chantill, in my opinion, I do believe Chanteal wanted to expose her mother by any means necessary, because, in Jackie's defense, she kept asking her, well, baby, what is it.

00:23:24
Speaker 5: You don't know what it is?

00:23:27
Speaker 3: Yep, I think Jackie.

00:23:29
Speaker 2: To me, Jackie was like, they don't know what it is, so I'll give you the opportunity to say it. And I think Chantal Chantell doesn't have the best way of expressing herself to her mother. So unfortunately for Chanteale, a lot of people shockingly doesn't.

00:23:46
Speaker 3: And you're one of them.

00:23:47
Speaker 2: Two who are on Jackie's side because we saw Jackie leave the situation. We saw you, Chantel chase after your mother. Justin's right, My mama makes you rest in police, black woman. I've never called my mother Gail what.

00:24:03
Speaker 3: I've never called my mother by her first name.

00:24:06
Speaker 2: I was a mama's boy, dusted another story for you. I'm I'm be quit to sincial Mama's boy. One day, dust I'm nineteen years old and I had a cousin who had to live with us because he was in trouble child. All story short, my cousin, you used to steal my clothes, and I've always been fresh.

00:24:27
Speaker 3: So I'm nineteen years old.

00:24:29
Speaker 2: Working at the Touchy Fried Chicken and part time at missus phil Cookies at the east Land Mall in Detroit, Michick.

00:24:35
Speaker 5: Yes, uh huh huh, So, Dustin.

00:24:40
Speaker 2: I'm looking for my black leather jacket. I couldn't find it, I said, Mom, was my jacket? Oh, your cousin took it, dust It, I said, And you let him take my jacket?

00:24:55
Speaker 3: I and your son and you are my mother nesting?

00:24:58
Speaker 2: I know. I had a a hand on my throat by my father, Yeah, who choked me, put me down and said, don't you ever speak to your mother that way. I'm like teen, and I'm like, get off for me, And he said, you will never speak to your mother that way. And guess what, at nineteen years old, I never did.

00:25:19
Speaker 3: Was the first time and the only time.

00:25:21
Speaker 2: The constant words of bitch that Shantelle used to her mother.

00:25:29
Speaker 3: Was too much for me, if that's youall dynamics off camera, maybe it is.

00:25:39
Speaker 2: But again, Jackie is smart enough to know if that is y'all dynamics behind the scenes calling each other bitches, because that that may be your relationship. Jackie was smart enough, in the words of Meani, not to.

00:25:52
Speaker 4: Do it right if I did choke somebody, yeah, you know, I.

00:25:57
Speaker 5: I don't know. I'm a person who believes in sane what you have to say.

00:26:00
Speaker 4: If you have a voice, especially as an adult, you have a right to voice your opinion, even to your mother, right, But there's a way that you do it.

00:26:08
Speaker 5: And that what we saw last night, that just wasn't it. That was not cool.

00:26:11
Speaker 4: Chantelle was wrong as hell, and I don't know what she thought was gonna happen after literally provoking Jackie NonStop, and just the scenes that we saw those, you know that they shot way more than what we saw, right, So there was obviously more antagonizing going on, and you decided to push your mama.

00:26:31
Speaker 5: Jackie rocked her shit, as she should have.

00:26:35
Speaker 4: That's what happened to me when I saw Jackie here her, I was like, you know what, it's about time. It's about time, because you cussing your mama out like that, putting your hands on her, coming back to start more of an argument. When Jackie blew her shit out, I was like, now let's start the conversation.

00:26:55
Speaker 3: So let's talk about that. So what we saw rain dropped was.

00:27:01
Speaker 2: Jackie tried two times in her leopard pajamas too.

00:27:10
Speaker 3: Does that they changed clothes? Jackie said, I'm keeping this on.

00:27:13
Speaker 5: Okay, she was hot.

00:27:17
Speaker 4: She wasn't even thinking about she was pacing in that room before we saw her. Jackie was upstairs mad than the motherfucker, chewing gum, cussing on the phone to somebody, you know she was.

00:27:27
Speaker 5: That's why she ain't changed.

00:27:30
Speaker 3: She didn't change cloth. Jackie said, I'm saying my room.

00:27:33
Speaker 2: The thing for me was the fact that again I'm like Dustin said, yes, they shot hours of rain jobs.

00:27:41
Speaker 3: We're only talking about what we saw.

00:27:43
Speaker 2: What we did see was one attempt of Jackie and Chantelle trying to talk about it, and Jackie said, I'm doing this for you.

00:27:52
Speaker 3: You want to want to want what is it?

00:27:54
Speaker 2: And Chantelle did not verbalize what the issue was because Jackie said, after Vegas, we're still beefing. I'm confused, what's going on, Talk to me, tell me it didn't happen. Then she proceees to go to dinner. And in my opinion, based on what I saw, was egged on again by the girls. And I'm rich on the Evelyn piece in the sense of, you can't say nothing about Evelyn's daughter before you see, you know, another side of her. Uh, you'll see the Liberty City side of Evelyn Lozado if you say anything about her daughter. And that's why I think for the audience justin it is kind of hard to digest them being real friends because the gold post is always moving all of those women. I'm gonna say it, none of us girls will ever talk about Evelyn's daughter and they know not to. But when it comes to Jackie's daughter, I understand she's a part of this show. But the same ruthe shall apply in sense of Chantelle. That'sha, Mama, I'm not getting involved in it. Pass the pork chop.

00:29:00
Speaker 4: Who the first person needs to play by them rules is Shantel Christie. Chantel Christie opened the door for that disrespect wide open for the cast to disrespect her mother and have an opinion and involve themselves in their business.

00:29:13
Speaker 5: Chantal did that. Chantale introduced that conversation.

00:29:17
Speaker 4: Chantal when she didn't check the first person that had something to say about her and Jackie beefing.

00:29:24
Speaker 5: She opened the door when.

00:29:25
Speaker 4: She started those conversations who discussed Jackie with those other women on the cast. She opened that door. Chantal did that, and she did it on purpose. It did not seem to me. I'm not even gonna be nice about it. Chantel wasn't there to resolved nothing. Chantel came on that show to embarrass her mother and to challenge her mother, which is why when Jackie asked her for more context her to go deeper, she was unable to because all she was focused on was the confrontational element.

00:29:54
Speaker 5: She wanted to confront Jackie and be the one that's my mother. I know her for real. She and fucking with y'all for years. I'm the one that's gonna come on this show and get her ass.

00:30:05
Speaker 4: That's what she did. That's what that was her m O coming on that cast this season.

00:30:11
Speaker 2: I'm reminded now, And this is why you guys have to make sure before y'all recap reality shows, you can actually watch everything.

00:30:22
Speaker 3: Anyways, I digress, So.

00:30:24
Speaker 2: I'm gagging rain drops because I with Dustin said he feels that Shanta came on the show to expose Jackie, and even with Jackie's like what's going on, she had nothing to say, but she would talk about her to the other girls. I'm reminded that remember when Chantelle told Brandy, oh, y'all think, y'all friends, she talks about you before we got here. My mama said this about you.

00:30:50
Speaker 5: Don't you like her? Now?

00:30:51
Speaker 3: Y'all cool?

00:30:52
Speaker 5: And I'm like, way mmm mmmm.

00:31:00
Speaker 3: So even when Jackie isn't, oh, my god's that said? Okay, guys, she.

00:31:05
Speaker 5: Had been holding that. She had been holding onto that.

00:31:09
Speaker 4: And remember, if you paid attention, Brandy kind of tried to deflect. Brandy never really took that bait, you know what I'm saying. And even Brandy she wasn't really responsible responsive rather to that, and Chantelle doubled down mention that again. She kept mentioning that to Brandy in that scene that Jackie talked about her to try to sway her to have a different, you know, position in the situation. All of that was intentional, and it reflected an aim of focus. You know what I'm saying, It reflected somebody who had a mission who came on this show to embarrass her mama. That's what she came on the show to do. And I don't have anything to say about why she's mad at her mom, because that's we weren't exposed to that, right, we haven't seen the things that happen again. Obviously she arrived at that point from something taking place. But what we saw is what I have something to say about. And I did not like that ship we saw. I did not like that, not actually for the first time in over a decade, right, I feel sorry for Jackie.

00:32:13
Speaker 5: Christie on TV.

00:32:16
Speaker 2: Tell me, well, let me let me get to the altercation. And I do, but Dustin, don't let me forget asking why you felt sorry for her. But what I do want to get to first is so the first attempt of a one on one between Jackie and Chantella failed.

00:32:30
Speaker 3: Chantaa has dinner.

00:32:31
Speaker 2: I felt she was aged on again by some of the girls, not all not all brittant Denise, thank you, and then she changes her clothes and goes back to see her mother and Jackie.

00:32:45
Speaker 3: I've watched this scene ten times.

00:32:46
Speaker 2: I wanted to make sure I look at the nuance, Jackie said, I'm giving you pretty much. I'm giving you the scene I'm giving. So what Jackie was doing is my daughter's on the show. I'm gonna say this, but I'm not saying Jackie said this to herself. But Jackie wanted to give her daughter a moment like get you get your TV moment on. You want to have a conversation with me, fine, and the and and you guys have to look at the at the at the nuances, Jackie asked her tell me what's wrong that opened the door and the floor for if Jackie has something to hide, in my opinion, she would not have said tell me what's wrong?

00:33:30
Speaker 3: What did I do? Tell me?

00:33:32
Speaker 2: And that's when Chattel said, it's a rhetorical question.

00:33:36
Speaker 4: Jackie, she said, it's a rhetorical yes or no question if it's a rhetorical question. But anyway, yeah.

00:33:47
Speaker 2: So I was like, your mother is pretty much saying to you your only show with me, you need this moment where you're on TV.

00:33:55
Speaker 3: I'm a og, I'm the face of this show. Where she is to me, what is it, I'm gonna give you a moment? What is it?

00:34:04
Speaker 2: And she she kept trying to egg herund and Jackie said, I would like for you to leave, because jackieaid at the beginning, I'm not gonna leave this high.

00:34:11
Speaker 3: I'm not gonna get.

00:34:11
Speaker 2: Up at this point, you leave, she exited. She tries to leave, Jackie does say the exit looks good on you.

00:34:23
Speaker 5: This time.

00:34:24
Speaker 2: She turns back around and then she calls her bad mother and and listen, I'm not a mother. I don't know what it would feel like to constantly be told by your daughter your bad mother.

00:34:36
Speaker 3: Jackie gets up and like, can you leave.

00:34:39
Speaker 2: That's when Chantelle first put hands on her and pushed her, and in my opinion, Jackie gave a reflex, and whether it was gave a reflex because remember Dustin when your black mother and mine did too, said I will slap you in the middle of next week, and I told I'm other, Mama is Monday, and I would like to live to see another week. I don't I don't want to go to Wednesday today, Mama, it's Monday. Please don't slap me in the middle of next week. I don't like Wednesdays. And my mama said, try me again. I won't and I'm sorry. I believe and for the black mothers in the group chat. Let me know, I believe that was a reflex, right or wrong.

00:35:26
Speaker 3: I get it. You should never put your hands your child, I understand that. And as a child, you should never put your hands on your mom.

00:35:35
Speaker 2: They both were wrong. But what I'm saying to you guys is Jackie got pushed by her daughter. And I never pushed my mother to know what she would do. But I'm pretty sure if I pushed my mother, I would be on I will, I will, I would be at Wednesday.

00:35:56
Speaker 4: Jackie got pushed by her daughter. After Jackie got cussed out relentlessly by her daughter, okay for a long time, got caught all kinds of again, bitches, dumb ass bitches, stupid ass, bitch, your bad mother, your man gonna leave you. That's the kind of shit that Chantelle was hurling at her mother, over and over and over again, right on camera. So this is gonna make the cut because this is crazy. Okay, So Jackie was I think dealing with all of that. We've never never seen Jackie not take an opportunity to defend herself verbally. Until Chantel came on the show. Jackie kept disengaging. Person can only take so much, and I think Jackie said, you know what you've grown. I'm gonna let you say what you have to say. But her putting her hands on Jackie was too much, and I believe it was a natural reflex for her to rock her shit the way that she did.

00:36:55
Speaker 5: Jackie robbed her as she should have. I don't think she was wrong.

00:37:01
Speaker 4: I think it's wrong to be violent with any adult, especially between a mother and child, father and child siblings.

00:37:09
Speaker 5: Those are the last people that you need to hit.

00:37:11
Speaker 4: But after she had already crossed so many lines of disrespect, Okay, saying the worst shit you can say to a person on the street, to your mama, and then you're gonna fucking push me.

00:37:25
Speaker 5: That was it.

00:37:26
Speaker 4: Jackie saw red and she locked in and laid her out. And then even after that, Chantelle throwing things at her mother, cussing at her, and then scrambling because she realized that she had just began gotten embarrassed on television. So she's, yeah, let me leave. That's a good idea of just saying random stuff. What you're gonna do, Jackie and already blew shit out. You don't have no power here, little girl, that's your mother okay, and she just reminded you that she's the mama and you the daughter in that moment, no matter how big your bark is, no matter how much cussing you on to do, she fizzled out because there was nothing substantive there to marrit what we saw.

00:38:07
Speaker 5: And that's why she got our mouth blew out. Simple.

00:38:12
Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, look, I when I saw that, Dustin for me, right, Look, I do believe they both were wrong. I'm not here to tell anybody how to react to something. Right, I too wrong, don't make it right to me, right, But what I will say is this, Dustin. When I saw that for the first time, and I saw that after we went off air last night, yeah, I got emotional because to.

00:38:43
Speaker 3: Me, it was sort of like.

00:38:48
Speaker 2: I would have been fine never seeing that image the day of my life. I would have been okay. Never seeing that. I just I would have been okay never seeing that, And it to me shows that unfortunately, that image would be out there for the rest of their lives.

00:39:10
Speaker 3: And what's sad is Chantell is raising a daughter.

00:39:14
Speaker 2: And that's why for me, as I spoke to you guys about whatever issues I have with my own father that were so passed now, but I had to let my issues with my father go in order for me to be fruitful in life. I couldn't hold onto the pain anymore. So I set him down in front of my mother and said everything I felt.

00:39:38
Speaker 3: Since I was five, and I released it. And I did it more so for me than for him.

00:39:44
Speaker 2: I'm grateful Dustin that he said I'm sorry, but I didn't need that.

00:39:48
Speaker 3: I needed to release it so I could move home with my life.

00:39:52
Speaker 2: I would have preferred for Chantelle to answer her mother so that she's able to release it.

00:39:58
Speaker 3: And because she is raising a dog her and being a mother.

00:40:03
Speaker 2: I don't know what that feels like, and I don't know what it's like to be a parent. But there's not an instructured manual one receives and how to be a parent. It's either innate, it's either you learn on the job. It's trial and error, but it should never result in physical violence, whether you push your mother and and the reflex. I feel sad for both of them, Dustin, because that image is going to be.

00:40:31
Speaker 3: Out there forever.

00:40:32
Speaker 2: And shall Tell's daughter, chan Tell's daughter has to grow up seeing her mother and her grandmama get into it, and and and her and Jackie's children have to see that, and Duck have to see it.

00:40:46
Speaker 3: And I do want to I do want to get to the dug things, Dustin.

00:40:48
Speaker 2: That's been a big debate on social media about Doug where a lot of people are saying two things, and I'll start with one, Dustin. Oh, before I do that, I want to get back to your thing. Why is it that you for the first time do feel sorry for Jackie?

00:41:05
Speaker 5: Because this is the first time. I'll go ahead, what was you gonna say?

00:41:09
Speaker 2: Oh no, you're saying the first time you felt sorry for Jackie in the history of her presence on the show.

00:41:15
Speaker 4: For sure, And it's because this is the first time I saw real, something that was real from her on a level where it was just straight up authentic, Right, Jackie not want to argue with her daughter and cuts her daughter out on TV.

00:41:28
Speaker 5: That was real.

00:41:29
Speaker 4: Jackie walking away from them scenes with her daughter to avoid those sort of verbal interactions with her daughter.

00:41:34
Speaker 5: That was real.

00:41:35
Speaker 4: This is the first time Jackie been on some Let's be real, Carlos. What makes Jackie good on this show is that she's always full of shit, right, lying about something, doing too much being delusion or whatever. This was the first time that I saw something that was relatable, real, understandable, and undoubtedly authentic from her and as a human being right with family that I haven't been happy with before, with challenges I've had, you know before, seeing that on TV.

00:42:06
Speaker 5: I felt for Jackie. I felt for her. I did.

00:42:09
Speaker 4: I felt for Jackie Christie. Another thing I want to say, I don't have anything to say about what has taken place, the occurrences that have taken place in the relationship between Jackie and Chantale. I don't have anything to say about Jackie's relationship with her other daughter, none of that. What I have an opinion on is what I saw on that TV last night, which I hope that siren that you hear in the background.

00:42:33
Speaker 5: When you hear you tell.

00:42:35
Speaker 4: But I literally just did not like seeing her cuss her mama out like that and push her mama on TV. It was not her being passionate in the heat of a moment in an argument. That was her continuously basically going after her mother, trying to start an argument and cussing her mother out, calling her by her name, all kind of shit, just being wildly dish respectful. That was crazy to me. I don't have kids, but I would raise my children to be vocal even when they were upset with me. Let me know how I hurt you, Let me know what made you mad, Let me know how you feel.

00:43:11
Speaker 5: We can talk about it. You know what I'm saying.

00:43:13
Speaker 4: But that shit that we seen, you dumb ass, bitch, you a whole, and all of that that we saw that was way too much. I can't remember what movie it was. I want to say it was The Brothers. You remember that movie The Brothers.

00:43:26
Speaker 5: Yeah, yes, one of the others. I think she uh.

00:43:30
Speaker 4: They were asking her, the daughter was saying something to her that was faster on. She was like, ah, that's a little too much me and you. And I never forgot that because that is certain lines that you just don't cross when it comes to your parents.

00:43:43
Speaker 5: You know what I'm saying.

00:43:44
Speaker 4: It's a way to let your parents know they pitched you off, but you don't call them bitches, wholes, motherfuckers and all that other shit. And you definitely don't do it on television where it's archived forever. That it was crazy to me. I did not like it.

00:43:58
Speaker 5: I didn't like seeing her push her mama and I was glad when Jackie popped her as that's how I feel about it.

00:44:05
Speaker 3: There's been a big debate on.

00:44:08
Speaker 2: Doug's involvement in all of this, or lack thereof, I should say, in addition to his involvement.

00:44:16
Speaker 3: Social media split Dustin.

00:44:17
Speaker 2: They feel like when Chantelle constantly says things like your husband is going to leave you, and she even told the girls that I'm gonna say it, you know there's issues there.

00:44:34
Speaker 3: I staid up to my mom and your kids don't like you.

00:44:41
Speaker 2: People are debating whether or not Doug is somebody that stands in the middle of the kids' issues with their mom in terms of is he involved or is he out of the picture with this?

00:44:56
Speaker 3: What is your take?

00:44:57
Speaker 2: Because as much as I love my mother, I still never articulated that I'm going to go against my dad or or or say things that would would would paint my father as if I'm on his side.

00:45:18
Speaker 3: And I heard I'm on my mama's side and not his, that that part was confusing to me.

00:45:22
Speaker 2: Do you think there's there could be something to where Doug just has been passive when it comes to this situation with the kids and Jackie or Jackie More importantly.

00:45:33
Speaker 4: I think that as it relates to what we saw last night, and as it relates to what we watch on Basketball Wives, it's a moot point what Doug has to say. Doug ain't on the damn Show outside of a guest appearance here and there over the years, you know, for the wedding or you know home scenes.

00:45:51
Speaker 5: Where she's talking to him in the kitchen.

00:45:53
Speaker 4: Doug ain't never been in the mix with the business on this show, even when it's his business. Because again, this ain't the first time that Jackie and her daughters or her relationship with her children has been mentioned or focused on or highlighted on this show, and Doug was not a part of the conversation, then Doug don't.

00:46:09
Speaker 5: Have nothing to do with this.

00:46:11
Speaker 4: We don't know what his position is, and it's none of our business because he's not a voice on this show.

00:46:18
Speaker 5: I think people would like to see.

00:46:20
Speaker 4: That because it would make it easier to understand and they would be able to say, well, the father is doing it right, but ultimately it's none of our damn business. And this is what I mean about the show going are further away from what we see on the TV. The dialogue about what Doug has to say is irrelevant.

00:46:37
Speaker 5: He's not a part of this.

00:46:38
Speaker 4: We're talking about the damn Show, unless he filmed scenes where they discuss it, or unless VH one creates a spin off where it is about Jackie's family and all the people that are all the players involved in these stories, our members, and we're watching it, then we talk about what other people had to say.

00:46:56
Speaker 5: Why are we even discussing it? You know what I'm saying.

00:46:59
Speaker 4: Doug has nothing thing to do with that, and it's none of our business what his take is on that very personal family matter. Let's focus on what we seen last night, which was Chantelle cussing her mama out and then fistfighting.

00:47:11
Speaker 5: That's enough, That's how I feel.

00:47:16
Speaker 2: Yeah. So after the altercation, Chantell goes back to join the ladies and pretty much just says everything that her mother did to her. What I found to be interesting is she never once said anything that she did. In addition to that, she did not mention that obviously I pushed her, She did not mention that, you know, I said these things to her.

00:47:41
Speaker 3: She let all of the things go, and then you.

00:47:44
Speaker 2: Saw the girls sort of rally with her, and it's one of those things where we'll see what happens when since finale, but.

00:47:55
Speaker 3: That I didn't like that either.

00:47:57
Speaker 2: I don't like that because it's sort of like, I know that Jackie into our favorite person. I get that, but evidence have shown that there's two sides of the story and that yes, hug her and do all the things. That's fine, but I didn't like how Everlynn, I feel like Evelyn, even the argument on the beach, I just like Evelyn.

00:48:23
Speaker 3: This I Evelyn.

00:48:27
Speaker 2: Was definitely a contradiction throughout this whole saga. I love Evelyn. I think she's great for the show. If I'm basing it off of the character that I love since season one, that Evelyn who's still on business for her daughter, the Evelyn that I've watched since day one would have never chosen a side when it comes to a mother and a daughter.

00:48:49
Speaker 3: That would have never been the case.

00:48:52
Speaker 2: The bias was clear when she said I woke up crying for Chantala's.

00:48:57
Speaker 3: Like you.

00:49:01
Speaker 2: Like, let's have a real conversation. Your bias is showing here. It was a typic to me.

00:49:07
Speaker 4: Typically Carlos, when people who covet their children as much as these ladies have purported themselves too. Right, There's a softness or a gentleness that softens even the most tough exteriors when it comes to women who are mothers, right, or people who are mothers. You know what I'm saying, Like, I didn't see that when it came to Evelyn. It would have been different if Evelyn was like, Damn, I woke up crying for Chantelle and Jackie, and so I'm going to talk to Jackie today and have a soft, hard to heart mother to mother conversation where I say, hey, y'all gotta find some peace Jackie.

00:49:47
Speaker 5: You know what I'm saying, like whatever, whatever.

00:49:48
Speaker 4: That's different than saying I woke up crying for Chantelle and if your mother comes down here, it's gonna be a fucking war.

00:49:54
Speaker 5: That's totally different, And it doesn't align with.

00:49:58
Speaker 4: How Evelyn was about to flip tables and all kind of shit at Jackie overcoming she made that were grossly inappropriate about her daughter Shanese.

00:50:07
Speaker 5: It don't line up.

00:50:08
Speaker 4: And so to me, that means that you are using this situation as a way to get at Jackie, as a way to antagonize Jackie or fuck with her, and you're you're involving yourself. That conversation at the beach was crazy to me, crazy because it came from nowhere too, like where where is this energy? Even like I just I was surprised. So Jackie left in too, and Brittany wasn't I mean, Chantel wasn't even there. But it was about Shantale and so she got up and left. She won't even engage with them women for real, for real. After she had that dust up with Brittany, Jackie stopped really fucking with them when it came to conversations about her daughter or excuse me, like she always used to say my daughter. She always used to say it like it was TTEI. That's how she always to say daughter, like me and my daughter.

00:51:02
Speaker 5: But she did you remember that ship? My daughter? That's my daughter. That's what I can do that But I don't know you know what I'm saying. That was that ship. That was not cool to me. That wasn't cool to me at all.

00:51:20
Speaker 3: Nothing what the top of me?

00:51:21
Speaker 4: Please, my daughter is d O T T E. That's my daughter. Let me tell you something about my daughter. Me and my daughter, that's what she You ain't gonna talk about my daughter that's what that's what she would say.

00:51:39
Speaker 3: Hey man, hey man.

00:51:44
Speaker 5: My daughter, that's my daughter. That's what she would always do.

00:51:47
Speaker 4: But I don't know. That was just that was some foul ship to me. Man, I did not like seeing that. I did not like what I saw. That's what that's what s.

00:51:59
Speaker 5: You know? Oh God, because you like.

00:52:06
Speaker 3: So Dustin.

00:52:06
Speaker 2: At the end, we did hear the audio. Baby Jackie called her husband and said, look, let me tell you. Let me tell you what it is.

00:52:17
Speaker 5: Look just like said he was going to.

00:52:21
Speaker 2: Call up.

00:52:26
Speaker 3: That is funny. No, dust we're gonna talk about this.

00:52:29
Speaker 2: When they sat down for the last time and Jackie had her phone out and Chantelle said, are you recording?

00:52:35
Speaker 3: Yes, she goes, no, I was just checking sha chat.

00:52:46
Speaker 2: Tell you ate that Chattel has moments. I'm like not to be cute ship like, so you recorded that. It was sort of like, well, damn, Jackie, are you like what you said?

00:52:57
Speaker 3: Go call doug Hey, Dougie.

00:53:00
Speaker 5: So like that. That's what I'm saying.

00:53:01
Speaker 4: The way she could have did it without being grossly disrespectful like she was. Certain shit, you just you don't you don't be mean the old people and kids, you know what I'm saying, you don't fucking disrespect your parents and grandparents. It's just certain things you just don't fucking do in life. And what we saw last night was just somebody that didn't care about that.

00:53:23
Speaker 5: I did not like seeing that. I didn't.

00:53:26
Speaker 3: Yeah, no, I didn't either. So listen.
