But Francisco Lindor was never that guy for me. He was always a guy that was just locked into everything. I watched Ken Rosenthal on Fair Territory says he's concerned about the Mets and like their rotation and stuff. Their rotation is doing it. I know Sanga had a stinker, but you know what, like this rotation is doing better than I thought they were going to do. Now are you asking me, are they going to continue to do that? I don't know, but a bright spot. Hey, j Perzinski's Luise Robert is killing it. So if this team turns it around, I think they'll turn it around offensively. I think the rotation is my question. If they turn it around offensively, I would say the fact that Luis Robert is killing it right now or is doing well right now, that's a good thing for the Mets.

Like it shows AJ swung at a lot of pitches out of the zone, but he could hit a lot of pitches out of the zone. He was able, he had a hit tool. Luis Robert has ridiculous power and if he just allows himself to only only swing in the zone. Way easier said than done. Believe me, I tried, you will like, you'll see just elite, an elite season out of him. So the Mets should be just about that. But they have to start winning games in a five game slid slide against the teams that they played against, not really it.

Every not every guy, but ninety five percent of the guys I played with when they signed a big deal, they tried harder because they wanted to justify I signed this big deal. Maybe Nimo wasn't wasn't right because you should get a hit if you know what's coming correct or it's tough to hit in the big days. I don't know one of the two, but either way, like I just I don't know. I think everybody makes a big deal out of the hole tipping. If you see somebody doing something like a base runner, they probably don't have it. There's way easier ways to just like discreetly, like you look to your right, okay, you know, more than jumping up and down that second base so everybody sees you. And if he is tipping, yes, there's plenty of ways. You don't have to do the Ryan Dempster like all the way through kind of thing. You can just you have to like he has to hold that grip at all times. I mean I know guys are given rookie a hard time. It's essentially a knuckleball, like sometimes he doesn't know how it's gonna go. It's not it's not a split where like some of these Japanese guys they can want to. I always talk about playing with Masa Massa here at Tanaka. He could like make he could make the splitter cut, he could make it run in on a arty, he could make it go straight down and you would see like different splitters from him. And it was based on where the chase zone is. This pitch is a forkball. Aj Aj and I both caught contrallers Jose Contrere's for a long time, massive hands, and he would just throw away in there and it essentially comes out with no spin. So to say, oh, he doesn't have control of that pitch, I have a hard time believing he's gonna have control of it, just because of the fact that the idea of a knuckleball, the idea of a forkball is you have to land it in the middle, throw it in the middle of the plate and hope it stays in that area. And so it's tough, like like it's tough for him to consistently throw strikes. But like Ajay said, if you land that John like you're cooked, because now all of a sudden, you think, oh, I do have to swing at it, and he's got ninety seven to back it up.

That's how you know somebody has your has your pitches, because there's that dude that all of a sudden just statues it. As soon as he has your pitch, he'll statue it until two strikes. It's just like out of the hand, nope, and it's like, wait a minute something. There's a lot of things in timing. As a catcher, you're watching the game, you're like, that looked that looked different than like an auto take. Sometimes you'll see Luisa Riyes, he'll just be like pitch will come in, he'll just go and not even swing. That's way different than I'm ready to hit, ready to hit. And all of a sudden, now his timing kind of just shuts down, and you're like, wait a minute, why did he know we were throwing the nastiest pitch in that count? Like then you think, okay, am I am? I calling too many of that pitch in certain counts. Oh, then you look at the hitter. You're looking the runner at second. You know he's picking his jersey, he's looking to the right, he's looking to the left. He touched the bag when he went back after Like, there's so many different things that you look at for a tip. But the guy struck out. Sorry, Michael Beer, it's a non story. If the guy strikes out, in my opinion, agreed.

They feed off of that veteran leadership, the fact that this dude goes out there and plays through injuries. Like I saw years ago him playing through pain injuries, not wanting to come out no matter what it was. I mean there was like two times I remember that he got sat and he was like he was pissed, he was stewing. So it's just better to have him out there in the lineup. If if the guy's gonna be pissed on his off day, he might as well just keep him out there. And so to lose both of them, their outfield wasn't necessarily great without them, and then you know, now to me, it's just gonna it's gonna test that depth and what does that depth look like, Garrett Mitchell, what is he going to be able to do for them? And then he said, oh yeah, I guess I did know what the play was. One of the first things you're taught as a base runner, well, you should be told player, if it's first and third and one out, don't let the second basement tag you. You stop, but you make them, especially if it's that chopper, you just stop and you make them try to turn the double play, because usually it's not. They're not going to turn that double play, right, So you do not let that guy. Remember Albert Bell when he smashed Fernandovinia that time, he was like, I ain't letting him tag me because it happened earlier in the game and his teammates got on them. So that time he said, well, he's gonna tag me and he ain't gonna get up and make the next girl. Right. So one of the first things you're taught as a runner is you don't let the second basement tag you on that chopper because it's you want to run from third to score, so you just stop, You almost give yourself up, and you make them throw it to first and then you get in a pickle or rundown, whatever you want to call it, and you're probably out anyways. But at least that run scores. So there's so many interesting and it was a really tough play too. I mean it was really tough play. I mean, I don't know if there's a second basement ever that makes that play right, because you're not flipping it to second because the runner going down the line is gonna be safe anyway.
