<v Speaker 3>Well, Night of Champions has come and gone now without
<v Speaker 3>a little bit of controversy, and we'll talk about that
<v Speaker 3>in a moment. But I thought overall it was a
<v Speaker 3>decent show. I i'd say thumbs up. There were some
<v Speaker 3>weird things, things that you've probably heard me critique in
<v Speaker 3>the past, but overall, the booking was pretty solid. I
<v Speaker 3>didn't get every prediction correct. I think I missed one
<v Speaker 3>and that was Jacob fat I dropping the United States title.
<v Speaker 3>I did not see that coming, but it makes sense. Actually,
<v Speaker 3>I don't hate it. I only hate it because selfishly
<v Speaker 3>it made me. It stopped me from having a perfect
<v Speaker 3>prediction record for this show. But other than that, I
<v Speaker 3>thought it was The decision was fine, and we'll again
<v Speaker 3>we'll dive into that as well. But I want to
<v Speaker 3>thank everybody for joining me here on the ww podcast
<v Speaker 3>for this official Night of Champions review on this Saturday night.
<v Speaker 3>It came to us this pl He came to us
<v Speaker 3>at one pm Eastern time at least where I was,
<v Speaker 3>of course in the United States, so kind of a
<v Speaker 3>weird time, but I don't mind it. You know, even
<v Speaker 3>if you're busy during the day, you can still kind
<v Speaker 3>of listen to it in one ear and keep one
<v Speaker 3>eye on it, and that's kind of what I did.
<v Speaker 3>I didn't watch every single second, but I caught them
<v Speaker 3>a vast majority of it, so I'm able to obviously
<v Speaker 3>be here and talk to you. But those of you

<v Speaker 3>the event, and I guess I'll start from the top
<v Speaker 3>because I want to make sure I go in order
<v Speaker 3>and don't miss a match. This was a pl that
<v Speaker 3>had more matches than usual, and don't worry, guys, we're
<v Speaker 3>getting Royal Rumble next year. There, I'm as excited as
<v Speaker 3>you are, I don't know Saudi is there. There's a
<v Speaker 3>dark cloud constantly hanging over these events. It's I know
<v Speaker 3>that there's study obviously the Iran situation, which actually has
<v Speaker 3>nothing to do with how Saudi views the United States,
<v Speaker 3>and the relationship between the United States and Saudi is
<v Speaker 3>really not affected in either way regarding what happened. And
<v Speaker 3>it seems like right now things are pretty quiet in
<v Speaker 3>the Middle East. Of course that'll change and always does.
<v Speaker 3>But beyond that, I mean, there's just something about the
<v Speaker 3>Saudi every time we hear and you guys, I would
<v Speaker 3>think most of you agree, think not. You know, I'm
<v Speaker 3>not for sure saying that, but I would imagine most
<v Speaker 3>of you hear Saudi. Event you're all from Rial Saudi Arabia.
<v Speaker 2>You're like a god.
<v Speaker 3>It's this knee jerk reaction to oh God, yeah, and
<v Speaker 3>you roll your eyes like they're going to Saudi again.
<v Speaker 3>It's something about it. And I know that the government
<v Speaker 3>doesn't treat their people, or didn't. They're they're getting better
<v Speaker 3>in some areas, but treat their people well. And there's
<v Speaker 3>obviously some some questionable moral and ethical decisions done a
<v Speaker 3>by the Saudi government and it is one big propagandist
<v Speaker 3>show a lot of times. And you saw the big
<v Speaker 3>advertisement in the middle of the ring that said Saudi
<v Speaker 3>season or something Saudi Arabia season or I don't know,
<v Speaker 3>something like that. It's like, hey, come to Saudi, you
<v Speaker 3>know where you know you'll only be forty eight percent
<v Speaker 3>oppressed as a woman. I mean it's anyway, So there
<v Speaker 3>is that. But Royal Rumbol comes to Saudi next year and.
<v Speaker 2>Wompwomp. I don't know. I can't.
<v Speaker 3>I can't shake the Saudi event feeling. It just it
<v Speaker 3>just is not leaving me. It's unfortunately just seared into
<v Speaker 3>my brain now, my brain chemistry of just I hear
<v Speaker 3>Saudi event and I go, ugh, it'sin Saudi. Nothing against
<v Speaker 3>the Saudi people. I have nothing against the people. The
<v Speaker 3>crowd was loud, although not for Jade. We'll talk about that, yes,
<v Speaker 3>But all right, so let's get into it, guys. Let's
<v Speaker 3>start with Cody Rhodes versus Randy Orton for the King
<v Speaker 3>of the Ring tournament final. What was on the line, well,
<v Speaker 3>being King of the Crown, King of the Ring, but
<v Speaker 3>more importantly a tangible prize here of the person the
<v Speaker 3>victor getting a shot at the World Championship at SummerSlam. Now,
<v Speaker 3>when I say world chap I should have said the
<v Speaker 3>undisputed Championship, I e. John Cena, who ended up winning.
<v Speaker 3>As we know, so this match, this was this was
<v Speaker 3>a lot of fun and Randy Orton was the fan
<v Speaker 3>favorite I would say by seventy five to twenty five percent,
<v Speaker 3>and a great match. Cole tried to bring up some
<v Speaker 3>of the past with legacy, and that was fine. He
<v Speaker 3>did pull on the past of these two and brought
<v Speaker 3>up the record of eight and three or seven and three.
<v Speaker 3>They said both, and that's fine too, that's all good.
<v Speaker 3>I just wish it was reserved for when somebody turned
<v Speaker 3>on the other. And yes, we saw the look from
<v Speaker 3>Randy Orton at the end of the match, which maybe
<v Speaker 3>it's a foreshadowing of him turning on Cody and rko
<v Speaker 3>ing him and then you start a personal feud.
<v Speaker 2>It's very possible.
<v Speaker 3>I just wish that when they first locked up the
<v Speaker 3>first time since Cody Rhodes has been back, I believe
<v Speaker 3>in a one on one match, I was hoping it
<v Speaker 3>would be something of a personal feud because there's just
<v Speaker 3>so much groundwork already laid for that instead of just
<v Speaker 3>this exhibition matchup that was they're forced to face each
<v Speaker 3>other because of their advancements in the tournament bracket. Again,
<v Speaker 3>I'm only complaining because I feel like we we didn't
<v Speaker 3>get the full story we could have instead of just
<v Speaker 3>oh it's Cody and it's Randy. They haven't fought in
<v Speaker 3>a while, and oh they were in that legacy thing
<v Speaker 3>a long time ago, instead of just imagine the incredible
<v Speaker 3>video package you could put on on that and everything else,
<v Speaker 3>and we still may get that. But nonetheless, this match
<v Speaker 3>was still very good, crowd solidly behind Randy Orton. Cody
<v Speaker 3>didn't get booed, although his again, his reactions from the
<v Speaker 3>crowd were just about a quarter of what Randy Orton
<v Speaker 3>was getting, so it wasn't like Randy or Cody was
<v Speaker 3>turning heel. Although during the match when Randy had the
<v Speaker 3>faux injury with the superplex early in the match, Cody
<v Speaker 3>did go after the back and target the back of
<v Speaker 3>Randy Orton in a way that the announcers actually pointed
<v Speaker 3>out and said, now this is a little bit different
<v Speaker 3>from Cody here going after the back and doing torture
<v Speaker 3>racks or whatever he was doing on on Randy Orton
<v Speaker 3>on the apron, and that was a little bit more
<v Speaker 3>aggression than you've seen from Cody.
<v Speaker 2>So is and are there.
<v Speaker 3>Hints of Cody possibly turning at some point in the
<v Speaker 3>near future. I wouldn't say this is definitive proof, but
<v Speaker 3>if you're looking for anything, you could put this in
<v Speaker 3>your bag of evidence that, especially with the announcers explicitly
<v Speaker 3>pointing that out, it's something to think about. And then again,
<v Speaker 3>at the end of the match with Randy, you're thinking
<v Speaker 3>about him turning. So somebody's turning at some point. It's
<v Speaker 3>just a matter of does Randy now get involved in
<v Speaker 3>the match at SummerSlam with Cody and Sena or does
<v Speaker 3>Cody just turn? And now we got two I mean,
<v Speaker 3>I don't know, but there is something I hope coming
<v Speaker 3>down the line between Randy and Cody.
<v Speaker 2>Now.
<v Speaker 3>Neither are retiring anytime soon, so that's good. It's not
<v Speaker 3>like John Cena, who you know, you've only got X
<v Speaker 3>amount of time. You got to make it happen quick.
<v Speaker 2>So there is that.
<v Speaker 3>But all right, so let's get to a little bit
<v Speaker 3>more here. The finish was Orton and Cody taking turns
<v Speaker 3>trying to slam each other's heads into the exposed turnbuckle
<v Speaker 3>that Randy Orton did did use. He tried to utilize
<v Speaker 3>the turnbuckle. Cody ended up pushing off an RKO attempt,
<v Speaker 3>shoved Orton into the exposed turnbuckle, and Cody followed up
<v Speaker 3>with the Cody Cutter or the the not the Cody Cutter,
<v Speaker 3>but the Crossroads for the victory. So again, I wouldn't
<v Speaker 3>say that that's a heel turn either. That's something that
<v Speaker 3>Randy did to try to gain an advantage that Cody
<v Speaker 3>just used at his disposal. Turnabout's fair play, So that's fine.
<v Speaker 3>That's not really a heel move. He just did what
<v Speaker 3>he should have done if you're trying to win the match.
<v Speaker 3>And the other good thing is only one one kickout
<v Speaker 3>of Cody's finish, only one Crossroads was kicked out of.
<v Speaker 3>I did not like that the RKO was kicked out
<v Speaker 3>of as good as the cell was from Cody in
<v Speaker 3>that match, and that was a great cell on the RKO.
<v Speaker 2>I'll give Cody credit on that.
<v Speaker 3>That's as good of an RKO sell that you will
<v Speaker 3>ever see ever. And the RKAO is not hard to sell.
<v Speaker 3>But there's a smoothness, a silkiness to it that when
<v Speaker 3>you hit it just right and the person sells it
<v Speaker 3>and bounces perfectly, and Cody nailed it. You could not
<v Speaker 3>have done it any better. A video game couldn't have
<v Speaker 3>made that any better. You couldn't have aied it or
<v Speaker 3>animated it in any way to improve the cell. It
<v Speaker 3>was perfect by Cody, So I'll give credit where's due there.
<v Speaker 3>And again I never critique his wrestling, it's always on point.
<v Speaker 3>But that RKO cell was just as the as you
<v Speaker 3>know the kids say today, Chef's kiss is great. I
<v Speaker 3>just didn't like the fact that it was kicked out
<v Speaker 3>of because can any finishers be protected anymore? Is there
<v Speaker 3>a single finish that's not kicked out of it at
<v Speaker 3>least once anymore? But the good thing was steps here
<v Speaker 3>only one of the.
<v Speaker 2>Crossroads were kicked out of.
<v Speaker 3>So but then Cody Rose he did win after twenty
<v Speaker 3>minutes long match, but match that, you know it was,
<v Speaker 3>it was really good at the pacing was really nice.
<v Speaker 3>They weren't trying to go one hundred miles an hour,
<v Speaker 3>just two professionals in there having a B plus match
<v Speaker 3>just great. So all right, we then had Byron interviewing
<v Speaker 3>Cody in the ring. Cody praised Orton and said he'd
<v Speaker 3>been a mentor to him, and Orton didn't look pleased
<v Speaker 3>as he stood on the ramp and said Cody said
<v Speaker 3>it was an arduous path and that he and Jay
<v Speaker 3>and now Orton will face either Punk or Johnson at SummerSlam.
<v Speaker 3>This is the next line I don't like. Okay, we
<v Speaker 3>could do without this, Cody, We could do without this,
<v Speaker 3>he said, quote I understand the reaction of fans when
<v Speaker 3>I face beloved characters. Are you e fing kidding me?
<v Speaker 3>But he said he was born to do this, and
<v Speaker 3>he said he'll be the champion blah blah blah at SummerSlam. Okay,
<v Speaker 3>you mean you guys know what I'm going to critique here?
<v Speaker 3>What are you talking about? Beloved character? I know what
<v Speaker 3>he's saying. He's saying, Hey, listen, I know you guys
<v Speaker 3>like me, and I'm gonna face other good guys, other
<v Speaker 3>baby faces. So I just I have to do it
<v Speaker 3>because I'm trying to win a championship. So don't hate me,
<v Speaker 3>Please don't hate me. I have to face other good
<v Speaker 3>guys too that you also like. So maybe if I
<v Speaker 3>acknowledge that up front that you like me more over
<v Speaker 3>those other guys.
<v Speaker 2>That's what he's saying.
<v Speaker 3>Instead of just letting the chips fall where they may,
<v Speaker 3>we have to expose the business. And he also calls
<v Speaker 3>them beloved characters. Are you I need to go on,
<v Speaker 3>I need to go uncensored here because this is the
<v Speaker 3>stuff that Cody and mister suit and tie just cannot
<v Speaker 3>stop himself from mister, you know, break the fourth wall
<v Speaker 3>because no one's ever done it or something, when in fact,
<v Speaker 3>we want to repair that wall. I want that wall repaired.
<v Speaker 3>I don't want anyone to ever acknowledge the fourth wall.
<v Speaker 2>Again.
<v Speaker 3>It's not new, it's not revolutionary, doesn't push anything into
<v Speaker 3>a more real sense of you know, reality. It's not
<v Speaker 3>something that is again groundbreaking. When people talk about you know,
<v Speaker 3>kind of kind of meta stuff and beloved characters, what
<v Speaker 3>do you is this a Disney special?
<v Speaker 2>We don't talk. We don't say beloved characters. That's what
<v Speaker 2>you say.
<v Speaker 3>In like a a documentary done ten years from now
<v Speaker 3>with somebody doing a voiceover, you don't do it for
<v Speaker 3>somebody in the ring. In an active program with these people,
<v Speaker 3>Cody and more importantly just wwe can we get a
<v Speaker 3>little bit of sense of respect here as fans to
<v Speaker 3>try to make us engaged here? Okay, moving on, there's
<v Speaker 3>more of that coming, more critiques. So if you like
<v Speaker 3>a little bit of negativity, man, I'm I'm your guy.
<v Speaker 3>I know some of you write reviews about how negative
<v Speaker 3>I am. Some of you are just you love it
<v Speaker 3>so much. Where you're gonna get it, You're gonna get it.
<v Speaker 2>But I actually do have a lot of good stuff
<v Speaker 2>to say. I really do.
<v Speaker 3>So the next match, I have to say this, in
<v Speaker 3>particularly the video package into this match of Ria Ripley
<v Speaker 3>and of Raquel Rodriguez for the street Fight, well done.
<v Speaker 3>The video package got me six times more interested in
<v Speaker 3>the match than I ever thought I was going to be,
<v Speaker 3>because Raquel has been essentially a non personality since she debuted.
<v Speaker 3>She was big on showing off her you know, lat muscles,
<v Speaker 3>and you know all of her toned or perceived toned
<v Speaker 3>a back, and that's pretty much all I knew about her.
<v Speaker 3>And you know, those promos that I had kind of
<v Speaker 3>forgotten about that were matched together in the in the
<v Speaker 3>video were well done and it made me understand what
<v Speaker 3>was going on here and how Ria and Raquel did
<v Speaker 3>have a relationship, a genuine friendship to begin WWE and
<v Speaker 3>how you know, Raquel upon a return turned on Ripley,
<v Speaker 3>and then Ripley returned the favor.
<v Speaker 2>And here we go.
<v Speaker 3>Easy to understand, Easy to understand. And this match lasted
<v Speaker 3>fourteen minutes longer than I thought it would with Ria
<v Speaker 3>beating Raquel. Now we did have as expected, Roxanne Perez
<v Speaker 3>get involved. We knew that was going to happen. Some
<v Speaker 3>of these spots here of you know, the Rhea's face
<v Speaker 3>getting slammed into the steel steps was looked great, you know,
<v Speaker 3>it looked great to the point where I was it
<v Speaker 3>was kind of looking like she actually hurt. You know,
<v Speaker 3>the table spot here of riptide off the top of
<v Speaker 3>the table that was on the top rope that the
<v Speaker 3>referee was holding.
<v Speaker 2>Which I'm totally fine with.
<v Speaker 3>I'm not going to hammer the referee for you know,
<v Speaker 3>kind of I don't know, breaking character or not, you know,
<v Speaker 3>getting involved in with something he shouldn't know. No problem
<v Speaker 3>with that at all. Safety first, my friend. And he
<v Speaker 3>was holding that table steady as he should have. I
<v Speaker 3>mean that that was good instinct or unless it was
<v Speaker 3>already planned, he was going to hold it whatever. That
<v Speaker 3>was a yes, sure, that was good stuff. Now the
<v Speaker 3>rip tide off the top with Rodriguez getting pinned and
<v Speaker 3>Ripley winning made total sense to me. Ripley wants to
<v Speaker 3>be back in the title picture. She should be. Do
<v Speaker 3>I want her to be in me ediately a champion?
<v Speaker 3>Probably not. She doesn't need the belt. She actually has
<v Speaker 3>gotten to the point in her career where she doesn't
<v Speaker 3>need the belt. I wouldn't mind another run or two,
<v Speaker 3>but I don't need Rhea Ripley anymore as women's champion,
<v Speaker 3>at least right now. I don't feel like she needs it.
<v Speaker 3>I feel like she needs to be outside of it
<v Speaker 3>even a little bit longer. If you want to build
<v Speaker 3>up to a later in the year title run, that's fine,
<v Speaker 3>where she can defend it at WrestleMania. You know, she's
<v Speaker 3>still young enough where she has I guess at least
<v Speaker 3>a good five years left in her of her prime
<v Speaker 3>if she wants to. But I'm not at the point
<v Speaker 3>where I'm saying, hey, Riha Ripley, and oh man, they
<v Speaker 3>really need to give her the belt. No, She's a
<v Speaker 3>made woman. She is the face of the women's division,
<v Speaker 3>so I'm sure she also loved the fact that she
<v Speaker 3>had to wear you know, head to toe clothing or
<v Speaker 3>latex or whatever she was wearing because of.
<v Speaker 2>The the you know, the the.
<v Speaker 3>Requirements per the Saudi governments of how women need to
<v Speaker 3>dress in public, and that does not exclude performers. So
<v Speaker 3>rear Ripley, I'm sure was just you know, thrilled with that,
<v Speaker 3>and same with Jade Cargill, both of them that are
<v Speaker 3>very much on the side of look at my body,
<v Speaker 3>and I've gone over that many times that I actually think,
<v Speaker 3>is that again the a detriment to the women? I actually,
<v Speaker 3>to me, I like the fact that you you know,
<v Speaker 3>you have the matches that are focused on the action
<v Speaker 3>the women, the moves, the story, not like hey, yeah,
<v Speaker 3>you know, look at this, look at that, Like that's
<v Speaker 3>whatever all the women were trying to move away from.
<v Speaker 3>That's what the whole women's evolution revolution was about, is
<v Speaker 3>moving away from that stuff because it does nothing but
<v Speaker 3>objectify and it.
<v Speaker 2>Just says what it is.
<v Speaker 3>I mean, especially when you've got a predominantly male, eighteen
<v Speaker 3>to forty year old audience. Have you met a guy
<v Speaker 3>have your meta dude that's not again a straight dude
<v Speaker 3>with women? Especially when they see attractive women. Are they
<v Speaker 3>they don't care about visuals at all? Well, of course
<v Speaker 3>not so, even when they're watching wrestling, and I want
<v Speaker 3>to watch wrestling. Hey, I'm a straight married guy, but
<v Speaker 3>I'm not blind, and I honestly don't watch wrestling for
<v Speaker 3>any of that. I watch it for wrestling to get
<v Speaker 3>involved in stories, to just decompress from my day. And
<v Speaker 3>I'm not asking for women to wear potato sacks or
<v Speaker 3>to wear that all the time. Some of you will
<v Speaker 3>take that away from what I'm saying. I'm not, but
<v Speaker 3>I'm saying though that just generally, I think that when
<v Speaker 3>it's focused on stories and ability and characters and getting
<v Speaker 3>emotionally involved in a story, that's where the money's at.
<v Speaker 2>That's where the.
<v Speaker 3>Money has always been for pro wrestling. Okay, we again,
<v Speaker 3>Rea wins here, and again good match.
<v Speaker 2>Good effort on both parts. Here.
<v Speaker 3>Ro Cal Rodriguez had a really good night and maybe
<v Speaker 3>the biggest match of her career. Do I dare say
<v Speaker 3>that Ria Ripley's biggest match ever? I'm sorry, Rodriguez racl
<v Speaker 3>Rodriguez is the biggest match ever.
<v Speaker 2>Maybe. Okay.
<v Speaker 3>We then have Sammy's ain and carrying Cross with Sammy's
<v Speaker 3>Ain coming out first, and he is wearing you know,
<v Speaker 3>the headdress and all that. I got to get the
<v Speaker 3>official name of what that is, but he was also
<v Speaker 3>wearing Palestinian colors. He's very outspoken on which side he's
<v Speaker 3>on in that whole conflict. Okay, I'm only bringing that
<v Speaker 3>up because Sammy's Ain is very vocal about it and
<v Speaker 3>he makes it very much known on Twitter about where
<v Speaker 3>he stands. Okay, very much pro Palestine, very much anti Israel.
<v Speaker 3>It's very clear. There's no discerning or interpretation needed to
<v Speaker 3>know and understand where Sammy Zain's priorities, and you know
<v Speaker 3>his love lies certainly with Palestine. So I'm only saying
<v Speaker 3>that now. It's controversial because it's a pretty controversial time
<v Speaker 3>topic for him to do that, but he comes out
<v Speaker 3>anyway and crowd likes it. Crowd loves it. Sammy's Ain
<v Speaker 3>big fan favorite here. And the match with Carrying Cross,
<v Speaker 3>I don't think it was awesome. I do think that
<v Speaker 3>it was slow for the first like sixty percent, and
<v Speaker 3>I was worried that Carrying Cross was going to have
<v Speaker 3>a stinker, even with a guy like Sammy's Ain who
<v Speaker 3>can wrestle anybody. I was a little bit concerned carrying
<v Speaker 3>Cross felt. I mean, he wasn't picking up the pace,
<v Speaker 3>and I don't want one hundred miles an hour match,
<v Speaker 3>but it felt very much like carrying Across at times.
<v Speaker 3>For the again, for a little more than half of
<v Speaker 3>the match was just kind of moving in slow motion
<v Speaker 3>too much, too much, and he like maybe he didn't
<v Speaker 3>know what to do next. I felt that he looked
<v Speaker 3>a bit not confused, but a little bit misguided on
<v Speaker 3>what to do or how to put the match together.
<v Speaker 3>That's my interpretation for the first half. Okay, But then
<v Speaker 3>things picked up and we eventually did get a Samy'saine
<v Speaker 3>victory after Cross hit Zane with a running clothesline, Cross
<v Speaker 3>backed up for another and then Zane followed up with
<v Speaker 3>a Halluva kick and got the three count Haluvia kick
<v Speaker 3>might be one of the might be a pretty protected finish.
<v Speaker 3>I don't remember a ton of people kicking out of
<v Speaker 3>the Halluva kick. I mean, I know he faced Roman
<v Speaker 3>Reigns and everybody else, but at least lately, the Halluva
<v Speaker 3>kick is pretty damn pretty damn protected. I mean just
<v Speaker 3>not all the time, but one of the more ones,
<v Speaker 3>so Carring Cross loses here. The announcers Cole did bring
<v Speaker 3>up and Barrett did bring up the fact that, hey,
<v Speaker 3>social media has got a ground swell behind him, and
<v Speaker 3>now it's time to see if the fans chose right.
<v Speaker 3>Essentially is what he said. It's time to see if
<v Speaker 3>you fans know what you're talking about. Carring Cross has
<v Speaker 3>to deliver. That's essentially what he said, paraphrasing, of course.
<v Speaker 3>And I would say Carrying Cross did, but not overwhelmingly.

<v Speaker 3>spotlight shined on him here. Yes, he dropped the belt
<v Speaker 3>because of the interference from not just Tomatanga Toga Loa,
<v Speaker 3>but who I can't say his name, the brother, the
<v Speaker 3>tall brother from Japan, and so now you got to
<v Speaker 3>build him. But then that leaves you with, well, Fatu
<v Speaker 3>at a bunch of momentum. But now the spotlight is
<v Speaker 3>going to be off Fatu and on you know, so
<v Speaker 3>I feel like it's too quick. They're they're rapid firing
<v Speaker 3>introducing people and it doesn't give time for anyone to
<v Speaker 3>breathe and build and you know, fans to choose who
<v Speaker 3>they want to get behind, and yeah, that kind of thing.
<v Speaker 3>And so again I could be totally wrong on that,
<v Speaker 3>but I think the pace in which they're introducing new
<v Speaker 3>talent is a little a little bit fast. Fatu losing,
<v Speaker 3>I was wrong, But Solo Sokoa here winning in the
<v Speaker 3>fashion he did. I mean, it's just part of the
<v Speaker 3>course for Solo. That's the only time he ever wins
<v Speaker 3>is seemingly with interference. So yeah, and that's fine. So
<v Speaker 3>he's gotten more people behind him. I feel like it's
<v Speaker 3>turning into a little a mini version of the nWo,
<v Speaker 3>when it was to the point where it felt like
<v Speaker 3>everyone was joining and it was watered down and no
<v Speaker 3>one seemed to it wasn't a big deal when anyone joined.
<v Speaker 3>It's like, oh yeah, well, you know, it came to
<v Speaker 3>the point where, again this is not what I'm saying
<v Speaker 3>about the blood line, but with the nWo, where the
<v Speaker 3>nWo was now the establishment and WCW people that didn't join,
<v Speaker 3>and we're still fighting against the nWo were actually now
<v Speaker 3>the resistance, so it became just so big. Obviously it's
<v Speaker 3>now what's happening here, But it feels a little bit
<v Speaker 3>just kind of like it's not a big deal anymore
<v Speaker 3>of who joins the blood line, I mean outside of
<v Speaker 3>you know, outside of just the family. If somebody outside
<v Speaker 3>the family were to join it, Samy's in, I believe

<v Speaker 3>name of the bloodline because they're not family. So I

<v Speaker 3>We then have Oscar versus Jade Cargill in a Queen

<v Speaker 3>it was okay, crowd didn't give a damn. It's eight
<v Speaker 3>and a half minutes shortest match of the whole night,
<v Speaker 3>clearly due to just Jade's limitations. That's the only reason
<v Speaker 3>for this. They're hiding her weaknesses, which she's i mean,
<v Speaker 3>clearly still has. I know some people are out there
<v Speaker 3>saying that, you know, she just can't wrestle, she just
<v Speaker 3>flat out as a bad wrestler. I'm actually gonna come
<v Speaker 3>to the defense of Jade here from an in ring perspective.
<v Speaker 3>Notice I said in ring, I'll get to the other
<v Speaker 3>part in a minute. Jade, since her debut has been
<v Speaker 3>protected and coddled in a tag team for the vast majority.
<v Speaker 3>She had a few brief moments and the Area Rumble
<v Speaker 3>that were big, a probably career moment at Elimination Chamber
<v Speaker 3>when she came in and went after Naomi. They actually
<v Speaker 3>at WrestleMania had a very good match, and I said
<v Speaker 3>at that point, Jade Cargill has arrived, because it felt
<v Speaker 3>like she finally understood the in ring psychology. She kind
<v Speaker 3>of is starting to put all of it together in ring.
<v Speaker 3>And then she faces Osca here and this was not good.
<v Speaker 3>It was okay, Osca is still I mean, she's still
<v Speaker 3>really good.
<v Speaker 2>We know what Oscar is. And I wasn't expecting a.
<v Speaker 3>Five star classic here. Nobody was. But it was eight
<v Speaker 3>and a half minutes quick and the crowd didn't give
<v Speaker 3>two craps about this match. I mean, even the support
<v Speaker 3>for Oscar was pretty subdued. Oscar had clearly the majority
<v Speaker 3>support from the audience because of just her tenure and
<v Speaker 3>the flat out I think just rejection of Jade. And
<v Speaker 3>it's not because Jade was doing Botch after Botch after botch.
<v Speaker 3>Although the finish was sloppy, we all know that we
<v Speaker 3>saw it. She did Jaded and then she like fell
<v Speaker 3>all the way backwards to the point where her shoulders
<v Speaker 3>were on the mat after she covered Osca, and then
<v Speaker 3>she got the three count. Anyway, blah blah blah. Okay,
<v Speaker 3>I don't even care about that, I really do. I
<v Speaker 3>know some people are making a big deal about it.
<v Speaker 3>If you think I'm gonna I'm not. Jade generally in
<v Speaker 3>ring has been on an upward trajectory, and the announcers
<v Speaker 3>were trying to put her over that clearly all the
<v Speaker 3>hours she's putting in outside the ring or starting to
<v Speaker 3>show and generally, yes, this was a little bit of
<v Speaker 3>a bump in the road, wasn't the smoothest match, but
<v Speaker 3>generally she's been an upward trajectory in ring. I would
<v Speaker 3>I would concur with that. The problem is she feels
<v Speaker 3>I think that the crowd is disrespectful to her because
<v Speaker 3>she just put out a tweet. I want to I
<v Speaker 3>want to find what it said. I think it's very short.
<v Speaker 3>Jade Cargill was not pleased with what the crowd did
<v Speaker 3>to her at at the event here and she said
<v Speaker 3>quote and not a big quote here, but like period wow,
<v Speaker 3>period end quote. And it's clearly clearly directed at the
<v Speaker 3>fact that the crowd was just indifferent slash negative to her.
<v Speaker 3>And to that, I'll say, too bad. I'll say that
<v Speaker 3>too bad. Now, some people will scream racism that's our
<v Speaker 3>out there.
<v Speaker 2>Which is just ridiculous. It's ridiculous if.
<v Speaker 3>Anyone's screaming racism, I would say that, to be honest
<v Speaker 3>with you. If this match was held in a United
<v Speaker 3>States city, the crowd would have been slightly more interested,
<v Speaker 3>although not overwhelmingly in the corner of Jade. Okay, they
<v Speaker 3>may not have booed her, but they would have probably
<v Speaker 3>been just as quiet for Jade. Why number one, Oscar
<v Speaker 3>is a beloved character. To quote Cody Rhodes, the fans
<v Speaker 3>of respect her. Oscar hasn't really done anything to make
<v Speaker 3>herself a heal lately. She's got a lot more respect
<v Speaker 3>she's been here longer. People love the Oscar character generally,
<v Speaker 3>and Jade, we don't know who you are. See, that's
<v Speaker 3>at the core of this whole problem is you may
<v Speaker 3>think you're deserved some kind of reaction in your mind
<v Speaker 3>that you feel is a baseline reaction you should get.
<v Speaker 3>But why do you feel like you deserve that when
<v Speaker 3>your character has gotten nearly no development. What connection do
<v Speaker 3>you have with the fans that you think you should
<v Speaker 3>be eliciting a reaction from the audience that you feel
<v Speaker 3>is respectable. Again, in ring, you're slowly improving good. That's
<v Speaker 3>one part, I would argue. The more important part is
<v Speaker 3>an emotional connection to make them care about what you're
<v Speaker 3>doing in the ring. See, what you do in the
<v Speaker 3>ring is secondary. If they don't know your character and
<v Speaker 3>can connect with you, can or cannot connect with your character,
<v Speaker 3>then they don't give two craps about what you do
<v Speaker 3>in the ring, because why should they. They're indifferent to
<v Speaker 3>who you are. They don't even know who you are.
<v Speaker 3>That's the problem, Jade. So no, you got exactly the
<v Speaker 3>reaction your character deserved because no one knows who you are.
<v Speaker 3>So there, I explained it pretty clearly for you, and
<v Speaker 3>she's I'm sure in private cussing the crowd out.
<v Speaker 2>Again.
<v Speaker 3>My assumption is that about how you know, we come
<v Speaker 3>over here and you know we bust our ass and
<v Speaker 3>we get that kind of reaction. But Jade, look, nothing
<v Speaker 3>is owed to you. I'm sure I don't know if
<v Speaker 3>anyone's ever told you that. In your life, no one
<v Speaker 3>owes you anything. You earn stuff, okay, and your character
<v Speaker 3>has not earned anything yet in the eyes of WWE fans.
<v Speaker 3>And yeah, Saudi was probably a little more harsh on
<v Speaker 3>you than if you went to an American city or
<v Speaker 3>you know, anywhere else overseas. But number one, it was
<v Speaker 3>kind of a cold match. Number Two, the fans respect
<v Speaker 3>to Oscar much more than your character. Number Three, we
<v Speaker 3>don't even know who you are as a character outside
<v Speaker 3>of just you're very proud of your physique. That's all
<v Speaker 3>we e fing know. So until that changes, until you're
<v Speaker 3>able to give us a little bit more to grab
<v Speaker 3>respond to other than relying on your one card that
<v Speaker 3>you've played, then maybe we will care more about what
<v Speaker 3>you do in ring and react appropriately to what you
<v Speaker 3>want us to react to. And even in the States,
<v Speaker 3>like her reaction. Again, she's had some decent moments Rumble
<v Speaker 3>elimination Chamber, yeah, but again after that, they didn't really
<v Speaker 3>do much. Jade has just been this intimidating figure that
<v Speaker 3>comes around and you know what she is. You know,
<v Speaker 3>she just comes in, does power moves. She looks like
<v Speaker 3>a million bucks. But then you scratch beneath the surface
<v Speaker 3>and say to yourself, why should I care? Why should
<v Speaker 3>I care what Jade Carhill does? And the minute you
<v Speaker 3>try to connect two brain cells together about why you
<v Speaker 3>come up with nothing because there is no reason outside
<v Speaker 3>of Again, if anybody want again, I'm sure there's people
<v Speaker 3>don't want to play the race card on this, go
<v Speaker 3>ahead and try it's because that's that's literally all there
<v Speaker 3>is left. And that's preposterous, of course, if anyone actually
<v Speaker 3>believes that. But I guess that if anyone's playing the
<v Speaker 3>race card, that is simply just them not wanting to
<v Speaker 3>admit the fact.
<v Speaker 2>That just she's just not a good wrestling character right now.

<v Speaker 3>She is held to the same standard that every other
<v Speaker 3>wrestler is in the eyes of professional wrestling, the eyes
<v Speaker 3>of professional wrestling fans. If you can't connect with us emotionally.
<v Speaker 2>We're not going to react.
<v Speaker 3>Why we are emotional beings. We care about what you do,
<v Speaker 3>if we care about your character, that's really that easy. Okay,
<v Speaker 3>I've said my piece on that, So like, wow, Jade,
<v Speaker 3>all right, So then we have John Cena and Cmpunk.
<v Speaker 3>This match went twenty six minutes, went twenty six minutes.
<v Speaker 3>These guys, I mean, they had an awesome main event here.
<v Speaker 3>I've really got to say. The pacing was what you
<v Speaker 3>thought it would be. There was the obligatory ref bump, Yes,
<v Speaker 3>ref bump, we got to count it. So the ref
<v Speaker 3>bump came when they were dueling chants for Sena, which
<v Speaker 3>happened all night, and they did a leapfrog spot that
<v Speaker 3>resulted in Sena hitting the ref. Punk hit the GTS,
<v Speaker 3>covered Sena for the pinfall, but the ref was down.
<v Speaker 3>A cameraman was positioned on stage and motioned Punk motion
<v Speaker 3>to the back, which again, Punk shouldn't have to do that.
<v Speaker 3>Shouldn't it be just a referee on standby. That shouldn't
<v Speaker 3>be Punk's you know, obligation. That shouldn't be his responsibility.
<v Speaker 3>That's on management anyway, it's pro wrestling. However, seth Rollins
<v Speaker 3>Music hit. He comes out with Breaker, Bronson, Reed and
<v Speaker 3>Paul Hayman. He's got the money to make briefcase. That's
<v Speaker 3>when the broadcast team pointed out that Rollins didn't bring
<v Speaker 3>a ref with him as normally happens with the money
<v Speaker 3>in the bank, cash him and then we had Punk
<v Speaker 3>dive onto both men here rather Rollins moving his jacket,
<v Speaker 3>took the briefcase from Hayman. Breaker and Reid come in
<v Speaker 3>the ring. Punk dove onto both men. He overshot them
<v Speaker 3>and then he took an awkward fall, but he didn't
<v Speaker 3>seem to be hurt. And then Breaker and Reed put
<v Speaker 3>Hayman through one of the broadcast tables or not Hayman,
<v Speaker 3>I should say not Hayman. Sorry, But Rollins stood in
<v Speaker 3>the middle of the ring motioned to the back. Referee
<v Speaker 3>Charles Robinson comes out, Sena knocked him down. A ringside
<v Speaker 3>comes in the ring, when face to face with Rollins,
<v Speaker 3>swung the briefcase at him. Sena ducked it, hit Rollins
<v Speaker 3>with an AA and Penta comes out, Yes, Penta and
<v Speaker 3>fought on the ramp with Breaker and Sammy Zaane comes out.
<v Speaker 3>He comes out out to the ring, fights Breaker and Penta,
<v Speaker 3>dove onto both men in the ring. Reid climbed in
<v Speaker 3>while seeing it was down, and Punk push read off
<v Speaker 3>the top rope seen it hit an AA on Reed,
<v Speaker 3>which got a big pop, and Cole explained that Scene
<v Speaker 3>and Punk didn't want the match to become a triple threat,
<v Speaker 3>so they worked together to keep Rollins out of it.
<v Speaker 3>It's logical, and here's the finish. Sena and Punk meat
<v Speaker 3>in the middle of the ring. Punk offered a handshake,
<v Speaker 3>Scena accepted it and then hugged Punk and then he
<v Speaker 3>made the mad face, the same face he made it
<v Speaker 3>the elimination chamber and he went for the nutkick. Punk
<v Speaker 3>blocked it. Scena slipped away after he went for an
<v Speaker 3>st Punk hosting hoisting up scenea for the GTS and
<v Speaker 3>Scena slipped away and then Rollin's hit Punk with the
<v Speaker 3>briefcase in a stomp and scene. It got to victory,
<v Speaker 3>so Rollin screwed Punk. It is apparently the narrative here.
<v Speaker 3>And I will say a lot of overbooking, yes, in
<v Speaker 3>these main events. That's another critique. I'm hearing overbooking, overbooking,
<v Speaker 3>over booking, and yeah, the ref bump and predictable six
<v Speaker 3>people coming out does get a little bit tiresome and
<v Speaker 3>a little bit too hard to follow, and it doesn't
<v Speaker 3>need to be that that, you know, complicated. But if
<v Speaker 3>the end result is just we're supposed to believe that
<v Speaker 3>cmpunk was screwed by Seth Rollins, then we know where
<v Speaker 3>they're going again. They're going to seemingly reignite Seth Rollins
<v Speaker 3>and Cmpunk. Not the worst thing in the world, I guess,
<v Speaker 3>but I mean I guess. It leads you to believe
<v Speaker 3>that CM punk is never going to capture the championship,
<v Speaker 3>and I don't know if he ever will. I don't
<v Speaker 3>know when CM Punk's getting another title shot here, I'm
<v Speaker 3>not sure. It also makes you wonder, if you know,
<v Speaker 3>John Cena, or rather Cmpunk's character look like a fool.
<v Speaker 3>How many people are going to pretend to trust Sena
<v Speaker 3>before and then get their you know, their ass kick
<v Speaker 3>before somebody doesn't trust Sena?

<v Speaker 3>Cena need to show in ring that he can't be trusted? Yes,

<v Speaker 3>and then Punk's like, you know what, you're a good guy.

<v Speaker 3>accept the handshake from Punk? What's the endgame there?

<v Speaker 3>But the the uh, the main event was fine. It
<v Speaker 3>actually it was good. A little overbooked, yes, but again
<v Speaker 3>Cmpunk was There's an out here that it was a
<v Speaker 3>ton of interference. Seth Rollins is the one that had
<v Speaker 3>the nail in the coffin for Cmpunk, and you know,
<v Speaker 3>it does make sense. I mean, seth Rollins is constantly
<v Speaker 3>talking about the hatred he has for Cmpunk, which I
<v Speaker 3>believe is genuine, so that does make sense too. And
<v Speaker 3>I didn't even think about seth Rollins truly cash again.
<v Speaker 3>I knew it was a possibility, but I didn't think
<v Speaker 3>that he would actually cash in, and he didn't. He
<v Speaker 3>teased it and we didn't ultimately get it. So there
<v Speaker 3>you have it. The review here for A Night of
<v Speaker 3>Champions again overall a good show. I give it a
<v Speaker 3>B minus. A show that progressed storylines. Now we're shooting
<v Speaker 3>quickly to Saturday nights. Made Event one in just two weeks,
<v Speaker 3>and then Evolution the next night, Evolution two the next
<v Speaker 3>night with an all women pl E. So that's going
<v Speaker 3>to be a I think a decent show should be.

<v Speaker 3>next night of being punkin nomics was pretty good, pretty
<v Speaker 3>damn good. Some good lines in there, and yeah he
<v Speaker 3>stumbled a bit in some of his words, but he's
<v Speaker 3>human and so but overall it was good. That was
<v Speaker 3>kind of the takeaway. There was the punkinomics and I
<v Speaker 3>thought that was really good. Yeah, it is entertaining. The
<v Speaker 3>last time these two are ever going to have a
<v Speaker 3>match together, and everything John Cena does is probably from
<v Speaker 3>here on out, the last time he's doing, Like every
<v Speaker 3>match he has with anybody is the last match he's having.
<v Speaker 3>So yeah, that will do it. And by the way,
<v Speaker 3>where the hell's our Truth they doing anything with him?
