My Blue Canyon Bigfoot Sighting - My Bigfoot Sighting Shorts Episode 5
One day, when tonight's guest, Les Baldridge, was 8 or 9 years old, he went deer hunting with his dad and brother. They went hunting in a place called Blue Canyon, which is a short distance southeast of Yosemite National Park. When Les’ dad would take him and his brother deer hunting, both Les and his brother knew that their dad expected them to be watching for deer, when he was driving the 3 of them to the place where they planned to hunt. Sometimes, Les and his brother would see deer on the way to their hunting spot, other times, they wouldn’t. If they didn’t see a deer, it wouldn’t be due to the two of them not keeping a sharp eye out. Watching as intently as they would, they’d see other things, besides deer, sometimes. They knew the wildlife, in the area, so none of the things they’d see would surprise them. One time, however, he and his brother did see something that surprised them. It was something they never expected to see and that’s what Les is going to talk about on tonight’s show. We hope you tune in and listen to him do that.

My big foot siding happened in a place called Blue Canyon in the Sierra Nevada Mountains, a little bit south of Yosemite and a little bit east. I was approximately eight or nine years old, which would have been seventy nine or eighty. I was with my dad and my brother. We were deer hunting. We were going to one of my dad's spots that he liked to hunt the most, which was up back on logging roads, and then once we passed that point, we would hit some other areas that were not really logging roads, and you had to have a four wheel drive that was capable enough to get back in these places, which he had an older international scout to come with the round headlights. So we were taken off back in there, and of course my dad was driving. My brother was in a passenger seat. He would have been fifty or sixteen at the time, and of course I was in the back. We didn't have the back seat installed at that time. Like when we go camping or hunting. My dad would take that out so we could put our supplies in there. I was sitting on the bench behind my dad, and the rule was whenever we're going to our spot, our hunting spot. You're always looking for deer. So on this particular day, it was sunny, it wasn't particularly cold, and we were off the logging road and we were going back on the road that was a little bit harder to traverse. We were going pretty slow. We were actually in a straight spot, and the hill to the left was going uphill and to the right was going downhill. So at this particular time, my dad and my brother were looking down hill and I was looking uphill, and I saw this thing come running and it was extremely fast. It was extremely big. When I say big, it was it was a minimum of nine feet tall. So it got to, like I said, a full run, and I'd say about three feet or so before the road, which was more like a four wheel drive path. But it jumped and it was effortless in movement. I could see it was kind of cineamentish brown color, reddish cinnamon brown color, and I could see the hair coming off the head. It was moving so fast though that I couldn't really see what the face looked like. The arms though, and the neck and the waist torso he could see hair on the legs. It was close enough that I could see muscles moving, which there was. The muscles on this thing were horrendously huge. Just the whole thing was huge. The hair was moving. You see the hair moving. Probably I want to say it was probably at least five inches on the arms. And it cleared the road, which was probably I want to say the road was probably nine to ten feet is just just a little bit wide enough on each side for the scout to go through. It lands on the other side of the road, and there was a lot of brush on that side of the road, because when it was coming from the top part of the hill across the road, there wasn't a lot of brush. It was actually kind of open, which is why I think it was moving so fast. There's a lot of brush on the other side of the road, so it went into that brush. I never saw it again. Well, we went probably I don't know, another fifty feet or so before were fifty ft one hundred feet or so before I could get my dad's attention because I couldn't speak, really, I couldn't get anything out. When he finally realized that I was trying to get his attention, he stopped and he looked around to me, and he can tell something was wrong. So he stopped and we started talking about what happened, and he knew I had seen something. He knew by the look on my face because we'd been in the mountains since I was old enough to walk, so I knew all the animals. I knew what they looked like, I knew what they sounded like. So he said, well, let's turn around and go back. So he backed up, and he asked me if we were in about the same spot, and I said, yeah, I think so. So my dad was a tracker. We're part Chaerokee Indians, so he could hunt or track basically anything in those mountains and he would trap. He was a trapper. He was a hunter. That's how we grew up. So he told me and my brother stay in the scout, don't move, don't get out, don't go walking around. That he would be back and he was gonna go see if he could track whatever I'd seen. He was going about forty five minutes, roughly forty five minutes, and he came back and he said that he couldn't see any sign of anything. He said he didn't see any tracks, he didn't see any anything like something big and disturbed. The ground anywhere. So we kept going that day and we would never really talked about it a lot. My dad never leaved in Bigfoot whatsoever. He never did at all. And he would tell me that all the years he had spen up there in those mountains and he'd never seen anything, he'd never seen any sign of anything like that, so he didn't think anything like that possibly existed. So it wasn't until later, when I was kind of grown up, actually that my uncle, which is his brother, he told me about some things that had happened when they were back in the interior what I call the interior of the Sere and Nevada mountains where people just don't go. They were back there trapping, and some things that happened that he couldn't explain, such as they had a little, tiny, little trailer and actually my dad wasn't with him at this time. It was just him and the dogs, and he said the dogs blew up and the trailer was being shaken violently. And we're talking about a man that's six two, roughly two hundred and forty pounds at this time, and a man that it wasn't scared of anything. He's passed away now, but when he was telling me this story, I was looking at him in as eye, and I knew that something had happened. He couldn't explain in that. I think he knew though, what it was what had happened. So this area of the Sierra Nevada Mountains is called the Blue Canyon. There's an upper and a lower, and it's not to be confused with on the north side of Yosemite. There is actually a place called Blue Canyon, but this is not that one. This is on the south side of Yosemite. This is near Shaver Lake, Huntington Lake, Tremor Springs, Pulch Camp Camp four and a half on the Upper Keynes River. These are the places that we called home basically when we were up there hunting. The second time that something happened, I was by myself. I was back in a place we called the Horseshoe and it's kind of hard to get to which got to hike in. There's no trail that goes back into that. It's just you gotta know what your way through the brush. Basically, this is near Dinky Creek, so we're back in there. My brother and dad are off hunting in another area. I took off by myself, and I had a thirty thirty with me, and so I'm back in there. I get in there, I didn't really feel all that easy as I was going in, says it takes a good probably forty five minutes to an hour if you're walking in and you're trying to hunt your way in, which is what I was doing. So I'm going taking my way through, and I get back into where I can see what we call the horse shoe, and we call it that because the mountain goes up and on both sides it looks like a horse shoe and it's got you know, the granite, you know, things of that nature. And I get back in there and there's no sounds whatsoever. There's no birds, there's no bugs, there's nothing. Everything went dead, silent, and you hear about the stinch and the stink and the smell of a big foot. Some people will say it smells like a wet dog that had the got sprayed by a skunk. Times that by about twenty and that's kind of what you're smelling. So I'm sitting there and I'm being as quiet as I can be, and that's when the hair on the back of my neck stood up, and that little inner voice said, you're not supposed to be here. So I did not. I walk out. I actually backed out. I didn't turn around and or you just just start walking out. I actually turned around. I backed out of this place. I was so scared. I didn't know what to think. And again, you know, get back to camp, having a talking about the day over our dinner, and Dad had a pretty good chuckle when I tell him about that one. And my brother really didn't have a lot to say about it. I never did really know if if he if he ever believed or didn't believe, or I didn't. I didn't know what he thought, so he really didn't have a lot to say about it. He'd just kind of smiled. That'd be about it. But that was about the end of that one. Later on, which later on would have been this last dear season, we both live in central Oklahoma. Now we're approximately an hour and a half east of Oklahoma City. We both lived way out in the country what I call the sticks. And after deer season, I was over his house, my wife and I we were having a dinner. We're doing something and I think we're watching a football game, so My brother comes walking over to me with his laptop in his hand, and I noticed he's got a look on his face that I've never seen before in my life. And he said, you know, I got something on this that I need you to look at. I need you to tell me what you think this is. So he does. He puts his laptop up and he starts bringing up his game camp pictures. So he's going through and we're seeing deer, We're seeing all the normal animals that we would normally see, you know, raccoons, deer, some birds, you know, things that squirrels, things of that nature. Now, my brother is six foot one and he put this camera, this particular camera. It's on the back part of his property and he's six one, so he put the camera at his chest height. He didn't want animals to be messing with it. So he gets to this part where it's not pictures, it's actually a video, and you can see dust coming in front of whatever this is in the video. But the dust is coming and then you see about five to six inch long hair and you can see that whatever is in front of that camera, it was at a side angle, and then it stops in front of the camera and turns it's Torso and you can see it's not even quite at chess level yet. It's not there. It's below what a chess level would be, and you can see it just kind of leans down slightly, and again you can see the hair. You can see the long hair. It's a little shorter because we're talking about Torso now. But it turns again and then just walks out of the view. And I firmly believed that he got a Sasquatch bigfoot on his game cam. And this was just last year season Central Oklahoma. It was an amazing thing to see because I mean we watched I made him play it to me probably fifty times. We slow moded, and it was completely amazing because it reminded me so much of what I had seen when I was a little kid. As far as the hair, of course, it was black and white, it wasn't color. It was you know, a game camp so but as far as the hair, the length of it, and to be honest with you, the mannerisms of how it moved reminded me so much of this. Well, I know it was a bigfoot what I saw when I was you know, back in seventy nine or eighty, and I know that's what it was, So those were my bigfoot experiences.
