<v Speaker 1>I got to say that the whole experience of tonight,
<v Speaker 1>I'm glad that you were here. That was a good
<v Speaker 1>thing for us to get to watch this together. It's
<v Speaker 1>been kind of disappointing. And for disappointing, I was really
<v Speaker 1>happy that our one guy who was a gen xer
<v Speaker 1>won the super Bowl, but it wasn't much of a.
<v Speaker 2>Game they put it on, man, they beat them down.
<v Speaker 1>The commercials weren't really that great.
<v Speaker 2>Marsh's not good the show.
<v Speaker 1>I mean, I typically I haven't really had much interest
<v Speaker 1>in NFL for a while now, and I watched the
<v Speaker 1>super Bowl for the commercials and it was a disappointment.
<v Speaker 1>But there were some that were pretty good. Yeah I
<v Speaker 1>think so. Yeah. Fourth mentioning, Yeah, yeah, here's my thing.
<v Speaker 1>Here's I got to say this. I got to give
<v Speaker 1>this list, and you tell me if I've missed any here.
<v Speaker 1>It is crazy the amount of retro commercials we had
<v Speaker 1>for this one, right, So we had Wayne's World. Yes,
<v Speaker 1>we had Pizza Hut with the old style tablecloth on,
<v Speaker 1>the guy from the Office's jacket and the pac Man,
<v Speaker 1>the tabletop pac Man. Right. We had Edward scissor Hands.
<v Speaker 2>Oh yeah, I.
<v Speaker 1>Forget it, and that was had that kid that's going
<v Speaker 1>to be in the New Dune, which is also an
<v Speaker 1>eighties deal. Right, you had the Paramount several Paramount commercials
<v Speaker 1>which had Beavis and butt Head and several of the
<v Speaker 1>other old school folks. You've now here's the thing CBS
<v Speaker 1>Original shows what did we see over and over again? Clarice,
<v Speaker 1>which is Silence of the Lambs again from the eighties,
<v Speaker 1>and The Equalizer, which is like something like this old lady. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>it's an old lady. It's eighties, wasn't it. It was
<v Speaker 1>the equal It was it was no that was even later,
<v Speaker 1>like the back in the eighties. There was a guy
<v Speaker 1>is this Yeah, he was this old dude, like old
<v Speaker 1>white dude, not Queen Latifa at all. Clinton absolute opposite
<v Speaker 1>of Clint Eastwood. Okay, yeah. The Equalizer nineteen eighty five
<v Speaker 1>to nineteen eighty nine, starring mister Edward Woodward not at all,
<v Speaker 1>Queen Latifa Edward Woodward, Yeah, who made I think his
<v Speaker 1>final appearance in Hot Fuzzz, which was a good movie anyway.
<v Speaker 1>Then we had two of the folks from the seventies
<v Speaker 1>show in a commercial with Shaggy nineties right, right, well
<v Speaker 1>two thousand, you know quick enough, Right, we had the
<v Speaker 1>retro H and R Block dancing commercial.
<v Speaker 3>Right.
<v Speaker 1>We had the bud Light commercials where they went back
<v Speaker 1>to all of their old retro like all of those.
<v Speaker 2>Legends, right, red Light legends.
<v Speaker 1>Then we had Sesame singing the old classic Welcome to
<v Speaker 1>My Neighborhood. Right, and then you had Dolly Parton singing
<v Speaker 1>nine to five.
<v Speaker 2>I didn't really understand what that commercial was about. It
<v Speaker 2>was retro, but.
<v Speaker 1>It was something about like, you don't have to work
<v Speaker 1>nine to five, you can work five to nine. Some
<v Speaker 1>weird I don't. You couldn't get it either, Okay.
<v Speaker 3>So it's crazy how many of those book they're definitely
<v Speaker 3>appealing to our age bracket.
<v Speaker 1>I would say, yeah, and the and again. It boggles
<v Speaker 1>my mind. The only gen Exerpt on either one of
<v Speaker 1>these starting lineups was born in nineteen seventy seven. The
<v Speaker 1>next guy on his team. It's eight years younger than
<v Speaker 1>he is. The next oldest guy's eight years younger.
<v Speaker 2>He is incredible.
<v Speaker 1>Mean, most of these guys weren't even born when the
<v Speaker 1>Super Bowl shoffle happened.
<v Speaker 2>Tom Brady has been to ten Super Bowls.
<v Speaker 1>He's won seven. It's crazy, it's shocking.
<v Speaker 2>It is crazy, really really incredible.
<v Speaker 1>Feat by him.
<v Speaker 3>So, okay, so we're gonna talk about.
<v Speaker 2>Our favorite commercials.
<v Speaker 1>Sure, do you want to touch the halftime show first, though, Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>let's talk about apps show. Okay, Listen.
<v Speaker 2>I'm the first one to say I'm not caught up
<v Speaker 2>on current music, so I didn't really know.
<v Speaker 3>I did recognize a couple of the tunes, you know.
<v Speaker 3>I heard that he put seven million dollars of.
<v Speaker 2>His own money into the show.
<v Speaker 1>It was okay, I didn't think his volume level was
<v Speaker 1>up high enough, right, Yeah, I mean in about two
<v Speaker 1>thirds into this thing, I said, I'm not a mixer,
<v Speaker 1>right professionally, but I would just say, turn up his
<v Speaker 1>microphone a little bit.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, And then he did this kind of weird thing
<v Speaker 3>when he was in the kind of the area with
<v Speaker 3>all the gold lights. And I told you that I'd
<v Speaker 3>have a buddy who would be motion sick. I would
<v Speaker 3>be motion sick watching them anyway.
<v Speaker 1>I actually I like The Weekend. He's one of the
<v Speaker 1>few artists that I like, which is probably because his
<v Speaker 1>music has a very eighties feel to it. But the
<v Speaker 1>halftime show, I mean, it was good songs that they
<v Speaker 1>didn't have the volume set right, and it was kind
<v Speaker 1>of weird. It didn't even make it down onto the field
<v Speaker 1>until the last song. Can we just say that Princess
<v Speaker 1>Purple Rain best of all time moment of silence for
<v Speaker 1>Princess Purple Rain halftime show, it was amazing.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, okay, all right, So we want to best commercials
<v Speaker 3>peong back and forth, back and forth.
<v Speaker 1>Sure, okay, So runner two runners up for me? All right,
<v Speaker 1>I'm gonna start with runner up. Runner up number one
<v Speaker 1>is the okios yogurt commercial, The Ugly Faces commercial. I
<v Speaker 1>like that one because Cole and I like to watch
<v Speaker 1>the Fittest on Earth, which is the CrossFit Games, and
<v Speaker 1>it had several of the guys from there. But I
<v Speaker 1>just thought it was funny people making their other faces. Okay,
<v Speaker 1>all right.
<v Speaker 2>Runner up number one for me, yeah is the I
<v Speaker 2>don't even.
<v Speaker 3>Know the guy's name he was in Hot tip time Machine.
<v Speaker 3>All it is him at Pizza Hut. Yeah, he's wearing
<v Speaker 3>a jacket that has the same design as the tabletop
<v Speaker 3>tablecloths from the old style Pizza Hut, and he's playing
<v Speaker 3>pac Man and eating pizza at Pizza shocker that I
<v Speaker 3>enjoyed the one where he's playing pac Man.
<v Speaker 1>Right. That is Craig Robinson, Thank you, who was on
<v Speaker 1>the office as well. Yes, hot tub time machine for me.
<v Speaker 3>But yeah, pizza pac Man right up my alley.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, okay, okay, So runner up number two for me
<v Speaker 1>is the Eminem's commercial. I thought that was pretty solid.
<v Speaker 1>I like that pretty pretty good commercial. I'm sorry for
<v Speaker 1>calling you Karen. My name is Karen. I'm sorry your
<v Speaker 1>name is Karen. I like that one too, That's great.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, commercial, that was a good one. Okay, I'm gonna
<v Speaker 3>go a little different than you. I like the bud
<v Speaker 3>Light Legends commercial.
<v Speaker 2>As runner up number two for me.
<v Speaker 3>Okay, you have the I Love You man, and you
<v Speaker 3>have the the football playing beer beers from like long
<v Speaker 3>time ago eight es.
<v Speaker 1>You ever bud Bowl and all those.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah.
<v Speaker 3>So anyway, I thought that one was pretty fun, and
<v Speaker 3>of course I like retro stuff.
<v Speaker 1>And winner for me is the Will Ferrell commercial. I
<v Speaker 1>thought it was hilarious. Oh okay. I him punching his
<v Speaker 1>fist through the glow, I thought was hysterical. I mean
<v Speaker 1>it was just absurd all over the place. And I
<v Speaker 1>loved it.
<v Speaker 2>Okay, that one was funny.
<v Speaker 1>Yah, I like that one. That was funny for me, though.
<v Speaker 2>The winner, I'm a sucker for these, you know me.
<v Speaker 3>I cry when I watched the Michael Jackson man in
<v Speaker 3>the mirror video the Toyota swimmer with no legs adoption
<v Speaker 3>from Siberia.
<v Speaker 1>I had that as my honorable mention. And we're midway
<v Speaker 1>through that commercial, I'm like, I can't swallow my cheeseburgers
<v Speaker 1>because there's a lump in month throat.
<v Speaker 2>I was like, this is the winner.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, that was a truly, truly great one. I would
<v Speaker 1>prefer funny to heart wrenching, but that was an amazingly good,
<v Speaker 1>touching commercial. Yeah, I'll tiebreaker goes to her for sure.
<v Speaker 3>Here you go.
<v Speaker 1>Love it. That's swimmer by the name Jessica Long Paralympic
<v Speaker 1>gold medal of swimmer.
<v Speaker 2>That one was great.
