Mmmm, hello, ladies and germs, it is what day? Is it? Tuesday? During the twenty first day of summer? M Yeah, Solstice solely three hundred and sixty five days took until E three. It's less than less. I'm sure. I'm sure it's less now, but I just around the corner. I didn't even look at what the dates are next year, but I know they're announced. They're always announced. Yeah, you can't get out of E three without being reminded of the next D three. Yeah. Though, everyone walking out of the show that I was walking alongside, every time they saw the dates on the door, people would look at it and turn and go, that's bold, that's ambitious. Yeah, oh you canna do it again next year? Huh Okay, Yeah, it was a real weird Did it say Santa Monico on it? No? Okay, Yeah, going back to the hangar, right, welcome to the Giant Bob cast. We're back from ME three. That's right, as you can probably tell. That's right. It's a lot of energy in this room, that's right. That extra day helped. Let's go that's right. Energy. Oh yeah, my hair says energy, does it? Yeah? This is this? I did not stop moving after E three and had all other stuff going on, and and basically today is the first day after that. So are you just delirious at this point? Yeah, yeah, something like that. Cool, Yeah, yeah, basically channel that. Yeah, this, yes, but it's all into this. And then then tomorrow I go off to get cavities filled and they're gonna get drugged up and yeah yeah yeah yeah, and then I've got a crazy weekend after that of yeah, go and play just doing stuff. Yeah, things are happening. Probably should have planned this a little better, but Jason is unloading things from boxes as we speak. The truck. The truck, yes, giant bomb truck. Month, yeah, we actually yourself a giant bomb truck. I'm sorry I inflected that incorrectly. We literally just unpacked that, Like what was laying on top was on the podcast gear, so we put that in here and then hit go. Yeah, and this is a ramshackle set up. As soon as we finish, I'm gonna go help Jason. I feel I feel bad for Jason Fingers, Yes, totally. Yeah, he wanted to be here and we wanted his input on some stuff. But it's got a lot of heavy liftings too. Hopefully there will be an audio file at the end of this thing. Yeah, well you know fingers crossed, Yeah, recording on two places. Yes, you jest about the name, But I wore this hat, yeah, through the airport. This quality Giant Bomb store dot Giant Bomb dot com, and you can acquire a hat like this for yourself. It's the newest hat. Someone referred to it as a dad hat because it's got the because the bills flat curved brim that's what cool kids were. Because I used to get flat brimmed hats back in the day, flip and that gets so now it's cool flat flat brimmed, is it? But I think that I think that that is kind of also, I feel like that's it's been like that for a minute, so we're kind of do Maybe you're actually just ahead of the right right and bring it back right now. It's ironically cool, but it's just going to be cool. That says. That says baseball to me. Yeah, curved brim, Yeah, definitely, this is the newest one. What is this is Zaxoni? Kind of fun? Katie? What the Giant Bomb retro font I don't know what the fuck you're talking about? The fuck is a zaxon. The Giant Bomb retro cap is what you're wearing. We did the we did the logo hats were flat brimmed. We offer it best ways, Like that's the Giant Bomb logo hat, also available at store giant bomb dot com. Well maybe the maybe that kind of script font on that flat brimm one would be a little less threatening. But I wore this to and from and accidentally or like trying to test it. No, I just want you know, I didn't want to do my hair just to okay, get on an airplane, so just threw a hat on. I always put my hoodie like I take it off in the airport and put it in my bag before I go through. You have to, I mean, I have to take this off in security and stuff. But well no, I'm saying, like, not because of security stuff, because it says bomb on it. Right. Yeah, So I thought, surely this font is whimsical and weird looking enough that it will be fine. Yeah. Also, what the fuck? But who in their right mind would wear anyway enough security related things happened between here and there that I don't think I will do that against store. Do ont giant bomb dot com for all your jiant on merchandise needs where to the airport have a good time? I thought, surely ud they play a role in the purity theater. What's did they point out the bomb part or they didn't say a word about you said you've been randomly selected? Totally got the full on. No really, yes, Cavity Waitt did take you into a different room. No no, not that work. No, but they did fully check everything ahead. That might just be you just look shift could have been I was also super late. Okay, so I probably looked nervous because I was already breaking about missing my flight. Anyway, I don't know. Yeah, I have had to go the exact opposite way with uh with items with items from store dot giant bomb dot com, Okay, exactly. That's pretty much how it goes. It turns out most of the items we sell say bomb. It's weird. It's weird, right, Yeah, I'm just gonna get a bunch of nuke dot com branded stuff. That's a that's a good call that I want to find the nuke dot Com logo from the fake nuke dot nuke dot Com we put together for time Trotters, because that was a good ass logo that has to be out there somewhere. Yeah. We had a fake website built for that at one point. Uh. Anyway, I remember that. Yeah. I got a bunch of stroopwaffles from a fan in Germany the game three, and I had no idea what a strop waff You never had one before? Oh my god, they're so good. Yeah. So I put it in my luggage and I took it back and they had to put me through the thing and not me. They just took my baggage and everything and we're padding down specifically the stroop waffles, like with the little pads or whatever, and I was like, what the fuck is the stroop waffle? Is he just like having me transport something super illegal right now? But they are dangerous contraband it turns out they taste really good. Two wafers with plastic explosive between. I'm sorry, it's more fun to say that. That's one of the best food items on the plane. It's super good. I got yelled at though, because when they were swabbing down the stroop waffles, I reached into my bag that they were that they yeah, because there was a granola bar there, and I was like, I'll eat this granola bar while they're checking my stroop waffles, and the guy yelled at me like, hey, you can't do that granola bar. You can't. That's yeah, you definitely can't do that. Indeed, well that's why you should drive. If you can bring whatever the fuck you want. You want to bring a car load of knives to Los Angeles, yes, pack them in a car and drive him there. Think of Jinga, Yeah, you could bring giant Jenga. Actually, my understandings of giant Jenga was brought on a plane. What's giant Jenga was. Yes, that he brought his personal That's a lot of weight and we thank him for it. Yeah, that's a heavy bag to carry on an apple. Yeah, well he flies enough that I'm sure he checks every bag for free always. Oh yeah, that's fair. But I don't know. John Drake did check baggage on his way back to San Francisco. He's on my flight. Okay. He got some gifts in return for bringing Jinga, Yes he did. Yes, Yeah, his bag made it back with some ex drivers and yeah, congratulations to John Drake for that. Oh man, there were like six times between like say, the Thursday before and now that I thought, Man, I should have just driven with those guys. Yeah. Uh, there's a certain allure to it. Yes, the drive is a freedom, Yes, there there's a real freedom of just like fuck it, man, if we want to stop for an hour, we can. Uh. We certainly did not on the way home, at least we stopped him. It's really being it's being locked into that drive back, I think is more than anything. What does it for me? The drive back is actually way better? Why because as you are done okay, yeah, and you have like a little bit of time ahead of you, and like the things are easy on the drives. Just get home, that's the thing. It's a little too much time for me though, Yeah, Like I just want to get home after six or seven hours in the car in front of you, when you really want to be home. I think I just you know, like the seats are comfortable, just comfortable enough, and it's just like I'm gonna sit in here and it's air conditioned and there will be semi loud rap music being played and we'll go fucking ninety miles an hour and stop at truck stops and just eat garbage. And yeah, it's actually throwing a comedy album or something. Yeah, it's it's not bad. The drive is in that specific context is not bad considering, but but it's faster to fly. Like actually, on some level driving is super dumb, but it is less stressful. God X was a fucking nightmare. And there's also that morning. Yeah, I got straight through. Really, I was like, wow, this is amazing. I left super early thinking to be bad, and I just went straight through. It wasn't terrible. But getting into the airport, huh. Like getting off the freeway and trying to get into the airport was like pushing thirty minutes for me. Like we just sat and sat in shitty La traffic. Anyway. E three travel stories. Yeah, right, now we're back. We are what are we talking? Picking up the pieces? I know post E three everything has changed. We's live stream for twenty out twenty twenty five hours last week. Sounds right, I haven't put it all together. Ballparky, Jeff, You're on every second of that, right? Yeah? Yeah, I guess I was. Actually now that you make me sound like a real dick, you know, I think it's impressive. Yeah, I'm tired, and I was on like five of them maybe, yeah, yeah, yeah, we did all those interviews, and this is it's weird coming back. Like three's only what five days old at this point, right, and I don't know what to talk about because we talked about everything there was like it's the sleep privation and well, actually it's the lack of food at some point. It's just like I'm eating where I can, I'm sleeping where I can, and just kind of getting through it at some point, like you can only stay sharp and with it for so long. And now, like I said, with this being kind of the first day, like thinking back to E three, I'm just like it's just a blur. I just like, oh, well there was the resident evil thing that happened that for whatever reason, that's the first thing that comes to mind, Like Zelda and all that. Oh yeah that was there too, right, Yeah, yeah, the Nintendo is making a new legend of Zelda. Well yeah we knew that going in. You you talked to Ed Boon, yes, like twice, yes, yeah, yeah, I could. I could just go to the appointment calendar here it's I'm gonna go to last week's calendar to look at what we did because I've already yeah, uh yeah, I guess we should just kind of wrap stuff up. Let's kind of go through stuff that we didn't get a chance to talk about much last week or things we've done since then. Yeah, I played through that Resident Evil demo because it's on psnight So the the PS four one you like, non VR Okay, yeah, you played it on NDR. I guess you guys talk about that sum on one of the E three or one of the night show wrap ups. Right, Yeah, I wasn't blown away. It's what what is that? It's like there's indecent a prology demo thing, but it's not very good. Well, I mean what is that game? Like? Like there's some first right, Also that demo is not in the game. Oh I know that. So and also there's no combat in that demo, like like just just by the by the numbers. That thing is such a like rudimentary adventure game. Like like if you look at if you look at the like the mechanical points right throughout that demo, it's the fuse. It's yeah, it's like it's totally like go here, find a key, go here and lock this cabinet, get a thing out of this cabinet to plug ins? Who thing that three more times, and then that's the end of the demo. It's it's super straightforward and like stripped down to the mechanics. There's like almost nothing to it, but not particularly scary. I don't think there's some there's some other like alternate paths. Just really there's a couple you know what I've actually know that I think about it. I don't think I ever went upstairs. Yeah that's the second ending. Oh okay, yeah, you turn the power on, if you put the fuse in there, you go up there and you press a button and that opens up a secret thing. Maybe I should the same, but it's the exact same thing. The guy, the bearded guy punches you or whatever. The bearded guy punches you. That's when I think about resident Evil. That's why I think about Yeah, it's their burden. Yeah, the helicopter flies over, drops the rocket launcher, and you get to blow up the bearded guy and I'll punched you at the beginning of yeah yeah sure, uh yeah. That that thing is really strange. The reaction to it seems really negative. I wonder if they thought that this was going to be like their pt moment of like, hey, we're making this like first person horror thing and you know that did such such ganging busters when PT came out. We're gonna make good on that. What did PT come out like two years ago? It was after something video Game Awards. I think it's kind yeah, sort of yeah, okay, because I know I looked at Already seven when they announced it, going like, oh they you know, they certainly didn't miss how popular PT was. But then I was here and right before this podcast that Already seven has been in development for a very long time. Sure, I bet, yeah, but you wonder, like, you know, it certainly could have changed direction in that time as well. But but yeah, hard to say. You just feel more like a proof of concept even like yeah there's no also like yeah, yeah, there's no combat, there's it's there's not scary. I thought there was some decent atmosphere, like I was the Mannequin falls over. Well do you think do you think you're playing in the middle of like a crowded like loud show floor head and headphones on. There was the Sick Puppies were playing next to Warwoke band, So maybe that hurt. But I was in a dark room with a VR headset on and headphones. Okay, I mean I don't think it was terrible. I just I was disappointed. Yeah I don't. I don't think it's a good demo. But I do think the atmosphere is to get scared pretty effective and like uh like resonable. Yeah, you know, I played through that remake recently, that HD remake remaster, and yeah, like a jump scare I'll get me or Silent Hill, you know, the psychological stuff that'll scare me. The first person does it for me more than anything. I never finished PT because he's pretty scary. Yeah, didn't. Nope, the things. I'm still way more intrigued by this than I would have been if they kept going down the sixth route. Absolutely, that was so bad. That goes without saying that had to happen. But yeah, what do you think the odds are that this has any connection at all to the previous games. I didn't even see a single hint of a character name or umbrella or anything. I think they've they've said that it's it is same universe and all that really stuff, but not necessarily the same characters and and that sort of thing. Wesker will wind up being the bad guy, sure, or the good guy. Maybe maybe you're Wester's dead. I shot him with like three rockets into his eyeballs while he was in avall camp. Yeah, yeah, totally. He's like, it's definitely the Jerry Wesker. It's Wesker's dad. Wait, doesn't there's a kid in Weser's father just let's spreading that around? Okay, yeah, yeah, isn't Wesker's kid actually in six? Okay, yeah that's a real uh yeah, I forgot his name, but yeah, yeah, he's totally in his name, right, Yeah, it's like, yeah, Sly Wesker. He jumps on rooftops crazy. Uh yeah. The premise of this is you're like following some reality show crew that showed up at this supposedly haunted house. Like that's what you're finding videotapes of. It's like their footage that got left around the house because they've all been gruesomely murdered. Well, you know, they wouldn't need to have a resident Evil that really follows closely in the footsteps of the previous games because Umbrella cors out this one, right, that's that's that's the one for fame, the real resident Evil seven. Yes, as I like to call it Resident Evil is so real. They didn't put the words Resident Evil on the title. In this territory, it's it's just it's just Umbrella Corps here, and then in Japan it's Biohazard Umbrella Corps. So the US maybe they decided it's one of those things. I mean, I knowing nothing about the game, having not played the final version and having not seen it in quite some time, but but having some inkling of what it is and how it's been received thus far, you have to wonder if the US team was like, yeah, we're not putting the fucking r E name on that because this fucking trash. I mean, they've done a lot of weird side things in the past that have been fucking trash. But they were fine, it's keeping the name on them in But maybe they've learned their lists. Yeah, I don't know. Yeah, I'm gonna probably try playing that game tonight and see how it goes. But that's what is it PC. It's a competitive multiplayer shooter. President Evil is esports. You know, didn't five had some of that? Uh that was co op? Yeah, I don't think even even six they did happen. Yeah, Well, there was also that other previous games, Operate Operations, Operation, Operation Records City, there's three sixty standard Shooter. Yeah, yeah, not great following those hot footsteps. Yeah, I will certainly give this a shot on account if there's nothing else out this week. But uh, mighty number nine, then we'll get to that, will we. I love Mega Man. We don't have to. Am I the only one that's played that game. I'm gonna start it the final version. Yes, it is not good. Thing is you can say that at full volume. We're friends here. I don't think it's good. Okay. Are people surprised though? Because I like to be original pitch, like, oh, it's gonna be like a new MegaMan, you know, with everything but name. And then a second that footage started coming out of it. I was like, there have been like MegaMan games that were bad games, you know, like that's it's not like MegaMan is some instant indicator that this thing is going to be awesome, so you know, yeah, like, hey, we're gonna make a new MegaMan game. Like all right, I didn't but even that later segan but did not necessarily like Mega Man nine or ten, I like tons of respect for him, that it's great that they made them, But at some point I'm just like, ah, you know, it's not really I don't really like Mega Man four, that's you know, yeah, you know it's a good game. Mega Man one, you know it's a great game. MegaMan two, you know it was an all time still a really good game, Mega Man three, everything, it's pretty good. People don't talk about it. Sure, fine, okay, some people really like Mega Man X. They were kids. Then X is definitely where they lost me. Pretty good Battle Network those aren't those were Battle Network. Mega Man is a great game, but it's not it's not a side scroller. Yeah, it's a weird card. It's like the hard collecting tactical combat that's that is a legitimately cool franchise. But again, they made one or two of them. You're like, this is great, and then they went the Pokemon route of like what if we had Blue Moon and Red Sun? And you're like, fuck you. But he kept making them. Uh And at some point it's like, you know what, I respect these from a safe distance. I am no longer interested in seeing more of these. It is actually like shocking how much our views on Mega Man a line, because yep, it's like Dan Dan was telling me earlier he thinks that Mega Man X is the worst, that basically that whole sub series is like pretty much garbage. Remember you were telling me earlier they thought it was total trash boy, and I was like, oh, you know, I don't really I'm not really into those games, but I'm just delirious. Say, I don't remember saying that at all. Guns and Roses were the bosses, yeah, Dath mcwhalen, God, they were. Yeah, they were in a lot of games back to the Mega Man the X five they were also all the bosses are named after guns and Roses. They were, they were, They were bosses in Chronic Triger two, right, I don't know. I'm pretty sure it was the voice of Claire from Resident Evil was the capcom like localization manager or whatever that made the MegaMan X five bosses guns and Roses because her boyfriend at the time was a big G and R fans, because she did it as a little tribute for him. Pretty sure, you don't you fight Axel and Slash and Crona Sugar? Pretty sure? And a long time since I played that, I mean, I could look it up. You know, why are you number nine? It looks pretty bad. So what do you do? Is is it just like a trade of Mega Man game? Do you beat bosses and get their power? Okay, I've only got I've only beaten two bosses, so I haven't really tried out their power as much yet. Can you slide? Yes? Kind of? So you got a dash move on our one. Okay, so that's like X yes, which you used to absorb the powers of every enemy you come across. There's even little goober guys. There's a Slash, but also an Ozzie and a Flee, Right, that's what it was. Not that, that's right. It was a bunch of different Okay, yes, a bunch of aging rock stars. Lee was not that old came out if you wanted to say, now, either would either a Slash that matter? Yeah, they were all. Slash has been aging for decades. I know in the literal sense they have all been aging or whatever. But I mean in a very real way, sure Slash was. Some people start up advanced anti aging clinics where they take a bunch of weird drugs to stay young. Slash has been doing the opposite of that. Why would he do that? I don't know. I don't really have a good answer for that. Ques he'd pickled all his internal organs and alcohol for so long, he should he should be fine for decades. He's on the Keith Richard's diet, or was having all this blood replaced? Sure? On a basis, yeah yeah, so so like every enemy in that game, when you shoot him a few times, they will start glowing one of like four colors, and then when you dash into them you will just absorb them. That sounds more like Kirby than MegaMan. Well, but you're not getting a power from them. Those four colors represent like, hey you go a little bit faster, or hey your shot is all the more powerful. Uh, what's one of the other two? One of them is armor, like you can take a little more damage, and the fourth one, if you do enough of them, you will get an item that you can pop to refill your health. Do they have energy tanks? Still not that I've seen. No. Okay, But like the fundamentals are fine. You move like, the movement is snappy, you know, like the dash move feels pretty good. But like the level design is super boring and uninspired. The entire visual style looks terrible. Like it it looks like Yeah, it looks primitive in not a fun retro throwback way, but in it just a like I hate to use the word like incompetent, that it's just like badly executed. Like it looks it would look pretty underwhelming on a three sixty, I'll put it that way, right, Like, if this came out last Gin as a downloadable game, you would go like, this doesn't look great. Yeah, you know, bad art is bad arte regardless. Yeah, cool art personally like cool art, all right, I wouldn't That's the next retro Kickstarter could bear. That's looking more promising at this point. Actually, I think it's always Yeah, but that does look but they're both made by the same developer, so yeah, yeah, I don't know. Yep, I don't know. Yep. I saw a number of people saying, hey, just play Shovel Night today if you want a Mega Man throw back, because that is a really good game, which recalls Mega mane in a lot of smart ways. Yeah, it's just feel flat and lifeless and dull and like not particularly fun in any way. The levels are kind of how I felt about it when I played it, Like it was like last year. At this point, it was just like this doesn't seem like it actually needs to exist. Like, I get why people might have put money into it thinking it did, but boy, yeah everyone was wrong. Also, the launch appears to be a complete mess. Like a lot of backers they are getting keys for different platforms, are having one problem after another of keys not working. Sound like the Hedgehogs making fun of them. Yeah, that did the publisher of the game like process all those keys through a third party reseller site and now that's that's they're all from G two A. Yeah, I had a new story of but I don't know that we really need to get into it. Hey it's a bad launch. Yeah, hey, it's a bad lunch. Three point eight million dollars raised, but nobody seems to have had any kind of high hopes by the time this thing actually made it to market. Yeah, they thing it was just plagued with delays and delay after delay, and like they ran a second Kickstarter saying like hey, we're gonna do voice acting now and all this stuff. Yeah, I've given one dollar to Kickstarter and that was for the John Drake tracker, but I never wound up actually downloading that. Is that on iOS? Is that a functional thing? Right now. You could say, assume it's still there. Yeah, I wouldn't see why wouldn't be. But okay, but yeah, seem when he worked out there, I got a USB key with John drake cartoon face on it. It's good. Yeah that like PC and Linux builds of the game quote unquote, so the utility or a game, sure, it's both there. There are multiple modes, so there's like a first person anyway. I can't. I can't. I do not want to get into this. Do you want to get into the new Trials game? Because I heard Yeah, I played the first five or six levels of Trials of the Blood Dragon and God announced during the ubsoft press conference. Yeah, released it's existence minutes later months ago. It really I had completely forgotten about it, but I got it, got rated something, and a logo leaked out or something, and you're like, oh man, that's the Trials logo and the Blood Dragon like the holy shit Like sounds like great but a good, weird, dumb idea, but it's like they took the worst elements of both games and put them together instead of the best, and it's pretty fucking bad. Yeah. Uh that sus So it's somebody who really has likes trials in the past. Yeah, So you know, the funny thing about trials is that they are able to extend their tool set in really creative ways, and sometimes through DLC they have done, you know, different things, or the user level creator has it led to a lot of really imaginative stuff. This has on foot levels that are terrible. Everyone loves about trials, like it's a pretty good bike with good physics and bike shit. Yeah, the bikes and trials feel really good when you try to adapt any of that that tool set into people. I mean, it's not like the person controls like the bike or anything like that, does it not? Because that unicorn in I can never remember the name of that last Fusion DEALC super Awesome, Max fun Time blah blah blah, like that unicorn strong together, epic, yes, fucking whatever. Fail That unicorn was an epic fail boom. Yeah. Yeah, but yeah, that thing the unicorn like would like you, it would rare back. But it felt like you were just tilting the bike back right, So it felt like trials. When you're on foot, it doesn't feel like that. Really, it doesn't feel like trials. It feels like a jump really, Yes, there's a jump, but like they tried to make an actual stick in any direction to shoot, and there are guards that will try to shoot you, causing you to basically like wreck quote unquote. So it doesn't feel at all like trials, but it feels like trash. Does it feel like like a shadow complex? No, it feels like fucking trash. Like it is like you were still kind of getting to an end of a level and completing a level, so checkpoints, Yeah, you're still running past the checkpoints. It still makes the checkpoint noise, but yeah, you are kind of shooting things. There will be things blocking your way and you'll shoot these weird alien pus bags or whatever. And uh, it's real terrible like it. You know, like granted it doesn't feel like the bike, so it's not you know, it probably could be worse. But like the platforming, you know, the movement, the jumping, all that other stuff just feels fucking terror. Is that stuff that's in the main progression, Like you have to play these levels? Yes? Uh? And so I got to like level eight, which was like the second on foot level, and was like, you know what, I'll play more of this because we'll record something with it. But I'm not going to subject myself to more of this right now. Yeah, is what's the what's the remainder? Is it just bike stuff? Like there are bike levels, it's spike stuff with Remember how Trials Fusion had a ton of like dialogue and stuff it would lay out to you that would be really repetitive if you were trying to be really good at a level. They doubled down on that, so it's like way more story stuff that just gets yelled at you while you're riding a bike, and all of them, like the voice acting is real bad? Is it Michael Bean? He's like he's a narrator, but he's not. He's dead. You're playing as his kids. Okay, is it actual Michael Bean? Or maybe I don't know, you know he was he was Yeah, yeah, so you're playing as his kids. The son is the biker, the girl is the daughters. The shoots stuff those sometimes you get to shoot stuff while you're on the bike, which is not unfun, but it's yeah, are there tricks and stuff like they weren't like that. But you'll have levels where you'll like rad race up to something and then have to hit like R one to activate something. And then you'll suddenly be in like piloting this really slow eight wheeled six wheeld uh tank thing or something, which you know tries to have the bike physics, but it's just rotten, you know. I think the writing and attitude of it is just kind of crappy. Like Blood Dragon was clever and parts of it were really funny, and then I think the later I got into Blood Dragon, it's it was like, Okay, I've kind of maybe had enough of this tone. I get it. No, I get it. I feel like you see that tone so much more now. I think bro Force had that right, Yeah, I mean you totally you do see a lot more of it now. So, yeah, the parody of action movie where it's like this is Vietnam War four. Yeah, fuck fuck off, Like it's just it. It doesn't play. It doesn't read as funny, it doesn't read as like entertaining or unique. It's not it's not inspired like it right, yeah, but even I think, but even I think fark right Blood Dragon, Like, by the end of it, I was like, all right, no, you're you're You've thrown together so many different references to other things that like, it's just it works by a sheer inertia, but the actual stuff that's there was was maybe real thin. This starts out thin and gets thinner as it goes, so it's just like but also it's like a weird mess of like you almost see this like you know, like Tim and Eric ish sort of thing, like you finish a mission and it just dumps into some weird inform virtual for a few seconds and then you know, glitches out into something else. You like, all right, I don't really that didn't necessarily that what was there didn't fit with everything else you're going for, But also I would like to see more of that than everything else you've done. Both parts are always really funny. In the old games, where you would cross the finish line and then some dumb thing would happen to kill you or launching into the sun or whatever it was, it was a little different. It was such an afterthought in the different thing because like a little gag. It's not like like rapping. They didn't they didn't allow any of that to meddle with the fun of the game, which was right always on point. So yeah, like that stuff just kind of comes off as like this, you know, sub davy force kind of thing. It just just feels a little out of place. So yeah, the ridings kind of a mess. Also, like all that stuff gets in the way of the thing that you that makes you like playing trials, and that's like you know, ghost races against leaderboards and all this other stuff. They've reworked the leaderboard to be like it ticks down instead of up and you get a score at the end that I think, I imagine it's just like time remaining plus faults or whatever. I mean, the timer takes down. Yeah, from the start of laws, we have like seven minutes to complete a level at least, it's a ton of time. Yeah. Yeah, it's maybe in the later levels that becomes a problem. It was not a problem start from the beginning. If it runs out or I've never run out, okay, so I don't actually know how that would go. But it just seems like that that's not a meaningful change. That's a weird change. Maybe they wanted to slide scores into it to make it more arcady, because your score then filters into this fake Pokemon thing that upgrades and evolves over time for what for whatever reason, Like why not sure? Okay, And yeah, it's just it's all over the place, and like the you know, as soon as you finish a level, it'll drop into this FMV stuff that you'll then have to cancel out of if you want to retry a level because you're trying to beat someone on the leaderboard, because that's how you play trials. Like all that other stuff becomes so immensely cumbersome. So like having these levels be filled with story where you've just got literally it's a character that it looks like not exactly but is is Sergeant Slaughter okay, but is named General Ryback. I don't know what the real wow. Very confusing. Uh So it's you've just got like that character or the the other sibling or other stuff just barking at you this whole time. And if you're restarting from checkpoints, you get to hear it all again. It's not especially funny the first time. Yeah, we start restart restarting. None of those jokes are great the first time. So like going back and have and do like listen to all this shit drone on again. I it just doesn't work. It just doesn't work. I kind of like that stuff infusion when it was like this weird disembodied computer lady voice. Yeah, talking about by the end of it, you were like interested in maybe piecing the thing together. But even then, like kind of once you got to a certain point with that stuff, or once you got to a point where you were caring about the leaderboards, that stuff's yeah bad. Be nice if you could turn that stuff off. Yeah, I imagine you could. There might be maybe this volume control over that stuff. But it's it's just clumsy. It's poorly constructed. Its feels like a it feels like the last DLC for Trials Fusion, you know. It feels like something where they're like, hey, we've extended our tool set in some really stupid ways, and why don't you check it out as like a fun little thing we threw together in the editor or whatever, but like as a separate fifteen dollars product. It's just like it's it's fucking bad. I feel for red Links, you know, like they got acquired by us off. They must be under some pressure to keep shipping Trials games, right, I guess I don't know, but like they put them out, and they put them out a lot more frequently now than they did when they were into But maybe this this is a thing that just came organically from, like you know, the Blood Dragon end of things. Like I get the idea of like, hey, let's let's follow up on blood blood Dragon, but let's not make it a far cry game, and let's find another franchise to Blood Dragon afy or something like. I think that's actually a kind of a cool idea if you do it right. Just need to practice a little blood Dragon. Yes, yeah, totally, okay, totally, that would absolutely work. No blood Dragon. Yeah, an o blood Dragon would be Fantasy Zombie you Blood Dragon, Raymond Bloo Dragon. These are all great, beyond good and blood Track huh Okay, they don't make two. They make the Blood Dragon one person one with the neon filter, right, I mean, like you know that it's to their credit. You couldn't just make another Trials game, right, No Fusion. Fusion already felt to me like, all right, maybe there's one too many Trials games out there, right, like the tricks and stuff. The Evolution is the best one. Yeah, So I think Evolution maybe was the peak of the series, and the Fusion felt like more of that, except for the trick stuff, which didn't quite come together. Like you wanted. Yeah, I I totally understand why you would go down that road and try to make the trick stuff a thing and make it matter. But I yeah, ultimately I think that was a step back. And you know, since they added more and more DLC and Trials, it just kind of it got away from me. I was just like, you know what, I'm not I'm not into this. They put out like six six deals packs for Fusion, plus that awesome max stuff, Like, there are scores of levels in that game if you just want to let it. I haven't seen. Yeah, because I kind of fell away from Trials Fusion well for most of the DLC came out, so so as you and other people on Twitter and stuff were saying this thing is not so good, I was like, you know, maybe I's just go play more, play more of that. I play the levels and Fusion that I didn't do. Instead, You're better. That's a better just core game. It's better at achieving its goals. Even if it's maybe not the best Trials game in the franchise, like Trials Fusion is still quite good. Yeah. Yeah, totally absolutely so. Yeah, this thing just like you know, I get the impression that, like I see why it would come together. And I feel like, oh man, everyone's heart really was probably the right place. It was just like, let's do this blood Dragon thing because that was like a fun moment, and Trials is like a good way to do that without going into full production on a big elaborate thing. And and you know, Trials is really good too, and Trials this goofy in a way that could be similar, but just none of it meshes, none of it. It's it's astounding how poorly this thing comes together. So yeah, play Trials Fusion. If you're gonna play Trials or go back even further, you know, that's fine too, if you if you unless you've already played those levels to death. Also, if you have a questionable downloadable game, put it out during directly three three during three Yeah, good call, good call, good time to just slip that out of the door. Yeah, I guess we'll do video with both of those games this week, probably just too, you know, yeah, yes, just to make them a matter of public Record's gonna say, I'm I'm not around most of this week with all my tooth business and other stuff, but I'll play Mighty. You guys want to if you guys want to play some trials with the Blood Dragon be my guests. All right, sit down and play it against But yeah, you don't have to. I don't think you You could just not, you know. I actually I want to hear one of trials. Yeah, but I just want to try Mighty number nine. I'm not expecting much for me. I felt like I needed some closure on the whole saga. Yeah you know, it's been so long. Yeah, I mere so many questions, right. That type of curiosity is totally totally understandable. That is separate from recommending that someone actually paid for it. Did you guys see blood Stained at all? I saw some. I watched over the shoulder of some people playing it. I did the same. He was the show. Yeah they had was there? Oh yeah they hat? Oh okay, good they had at least one. I think it was only one Kiosk in the Xbox booth too. Anyway, I didn't. I didn't see it whip. What sort of a game is it? It's it is totally the Symphony of the Night successor three D graphics, but still the same kind of two D a game play. It looked okay, yeah, looks I get moved well, but then against Mighty number nine moves. Well, it's just yeah, yes, there were there were watching that. I'm hopeful that it looked all right visually like it looks it looks Okay, does it looks like Castlevania? You said there was three D models? Enough? Is it like that weird Lords of Shadow where they had the three D models but it was two D? Not quite? I'm not sure, not quite. There was that one. This is a full on three DS Castlevania game. It's two D. This is full on platforming, right, game was that one? But they are they pulled, but they are pulling in all they were There was that side scrolling Castlevania in the game. It was there's work shadow in between. It was like Lords of Shadows. So that one three one? Yeah, yeah that game three? Now I know what you mean. Okay, yes, yes it is. It's it's like, no, this looks a little snappier and tighter like TWODI. Castlevania would have been as opposed to do that, the weighty attacks and everything. Yeah, yeah, this looks like it plays like those classic Castlevania. Okay, but remember when Lords of Shadow was really good and then they put out two more and they were terrible, was it? No? Really don't. I don't remember when Lords of Shadow was good. The first one's good now the best start great game though maybe one of the worst starts. Not great press why a lot? Yeah? Yeah, does do some stuff for you. Yeah, there's some stuffed up Yeah, it's a good game. Did just think a good game called sock? Uh? What else is going on? Don't I play anything else? I played over watching Doom? I No, I played some Zakaria Zacharia pinball. I don't know how to pronounce that. It's a company that made pinball machines in the eighties. They put out a pinball or acade like application that is free on Steam, and then all of their thirty eight tables that they've made are available for purchase. It's not really access right now, and the physics are a fucking mess, and the tables are often not great compared to some of the greatest tables that are available digitally out there. But it's trying so hard to come up with a thirty eight tables choke, and it's just not happening. On on some level, it's neat that it exists at all, But the whole thing's kind of crazy something something thirty eight chambers yes, nope, nope, not even even even it's not even right number nope. So yeah, I played a little bit of that. It's kind of a mess. But do they have a red Sox table? No? There you go, Yeah there that's yeah. Okay, you've done it. Congratulations, Dan, Did you finish do No? I got to the part with the BFG in the laser room, okay, and I was just so tired or something, and I knew to jump on top of the thing and then to the side, but then I couldn't figure out what to do. And I'm tired, and I died a few times. I got stuck. I'll do this some other I got stuck for a few minute there too. That I've seen some people call, oh, you don't you just don't know, You'll just no, yeah, tell me no, No, you don't get to know where else can I find this out out the game? Fact stuck. I've seen some other people say that room is kind of not I had trouble. It's kind into that room. Really, yeah. I had trouble on the other end of it of trying to get into the There are things you need to shoot in that room, but they don't necessarily look like things that can be shot. That explains it. N you'll you'll figure it out. It's real good with the mouse and keyboard. Yeah, I found that out immediately, that that was not a problem. But yeah, still playing couch d Yeah, well it's gotten more elaborate every day, it seems. And now this big reclining chair thingy and I stack up a bunch of books for the mouse pad, and I just bought an aluminum mouse pad for better support. And then I bought a new ottoman where you can take each cushion out and flip it over to be a tray or a cushion, and I put that on my lap when I'm in the reclining each chair, and I put the keyboard on top of that, and it's it's a whole thing. You should probably just buy one of those fucking sick esports chairs. No, that's aw much of those three in for a second. Yeah, those guys had a booth at E three because yeah, because why wouldn't you like lapdog and lapboards and all this stuff. And I don't want to spend one hundred and fifty dollars. I sat in one of those chairs before or E three, because some of the companies showing PC games must have done a deal with them to be like, hey, well we'll use your chairs for our demo. What I don't know, they weren't terrible. Yeah, there was this moment of just like, I care. I'm trying to care more about my posture. My chair at home is not quite great, and this one's actually not so bad. What makes them gaming chairs? They're like speakers. No, it's they it's the way they market it. It's all just like this is a high performance chair for assholes, and like and that's how they do it, and tactical, no scope, right, yeah for twenty I hear your APMs go up by twenty Oh totally. Yeah, if you're sitting in that chair. I think some of them can be affixed with some sort of butt kicker speaker that fucking rattles your ass. Wait, so it's like a activator. Yeah yeah, so it's one step for d box in the home exactly. Yeah, okay, but you know, I don't know, I don't know. I sat in one of those chairs and was actually like pleasantly surprised, like this chair isn't shit, which is weird. Because that's what it looks like. But uh, yeah, I don't know. I don't know. Three huh yeah, all right, I guess that's what we've been doing. So do you have any news or anything? Should we just get into should take a break and then yeah, we needn't take we will need to take a break. Some stuff happened, but nothing really super newsworthy. Super Sell got bought for over eight billion dollars by ten cents of course, yeah, who else? Right, they're not going to get any more of my money? So so no, done, we have we have you know, we'll get to this. We have an email waiting perhaps sparks some clash royal discussion, but it's good, yeah, awesome, Well but didn't actually I think it'll be some discussion that you'll be happy with. But also they were super Sell was not a private company. They had already right, they had already been through released like one round of acquisitions YEA and Vivendi raised as steak and Ubisoft recently is really yeah, I didn't see that. I think it's twenty percent now or something. I'd have to go checks. Totally happening, But I don't know if we really leaned into that speech that Eve Gimo gave at the end of the Ubisoft thing, the running video. Yeah yeah, well we are free. Yeah that he brought everybody on stage. We are the family company. Do not. This is a really fuck man, really sinister undertone to that whole proceeding keep dancing. This might be the last time I'll be up here saying these things. Yeah. Yeah, that whole end of that, I hope not. You just look at the whole end of that and go like that has to be what why that all exists? Right? I felt I felt very bad for him when I saw that. Yeah, but what are you gonna do that? That's a weird situation of India is terrifyingly huge. Right, they aren't fucking nice matter factory. They're gonna buy you be Soft and make them publish Half Life two. How do they have some much money? What do they think? They're like they're like a universal or they still like a century They're like a century and a half old conglomerate that has their fingers and like everything you can think of, Okay, not just video games, I'm gonna okay media right more than that, even like I think they're they're in like like infrastructure and public works and all kinds of earlier today GOMU report of the Vivendi up to twenty point one percent of you be soft. That's a fifth of the compounder. Yeah, is that point one significant? Like that puts them over from some threshold or something I don't I don't actually know. So they are the Canal Plus Group, which is a French media company, French pay TV company. They are the Universal Music Group, which is you know, that's you know music, their Daily Motion, thank you very much. So if you're looking for bootleg wrestling videos, if you want to watch formula yeah, m hm this yeah, okay, And then I think the Canal Plus group. Actually, if you break these major pillars down into like larger of their game lofts, now, Vivendi ticketing seems like a ticketmaster style business they run in France telecom Italia. But hmm, maybe it's just if you break down Canal Plus into its component parts, it sounds like a lot larger than it is. But uh yeah, actually looks like they are pretty much just media at this point. Okay, Yeah, looking at this list of their assets. Radionomy they used to own NBC Universal, right, there was that they don't anymore. Some kind of s used to spin out Blizzard, Yeah they Yeah, Activision Blizzard was a subsidiary of theirs that they spun out. Yeah, because there, Yeah, there was a whole rough patch. Activision has had a couple of pretty fucking rough patches throughout its like long and storied career. Like they at one point they at one point games that were Activision games came out with the word mediagenic on it that they rebranded at some point, and then it's some when they brought the Activision name back and it was like fuck, yeah was that what was that? Like late nineties earlier was like way precolled duty right, yeah, like way prey. I like looking on Atari twenty six hundred boxes and seeing the same Activision dude, Yeah, that stuff is super especially because the lineage of Activision is what, like, weren't they like disgruntled Atari where they were spun out of Atari and stole all of Atari's ideas and made better versions of Atari's games. There's legal action. Yeah, and they put their names on the games, which Atari definitely wouldn't do, which is why Adventure has that hidden Easter egg. And yeah, they you know, there's like you look at there's a game called Avalanche that is just Kaboom before Kaboom was kaboom just because they knew what was being made and something like that. I don't, I don't, I don't know. Darcnoid and Breakout one of those title made those. No, well, title made Arcanoid, Breakout Atari made Breakout right right. But yeah, Mediagenic was a holding company in eighty eight. Oh wow. Uh, and they continued to publish stuff. That was when they were doing like stuff for the like the NES stuff like that. So that was even way way like pre Bobby Codic and then yeah, that whole era, the packaged goods era of Activision, right. Uh, well, I mean Codek was in there. Bubby Codic has always been okay, So what happened was it was Mediagenic fucking tanked, and then Codic was part of an investor group that came in and took over as a part of that. So that's that's when he kind of came into the picture. And then he kind of became the the head of Activision Blizzard, uh, post the Vivendi merger, so like Vivendi had its own game license, like Crash Bandicoot was a universal like a Vendi Universal game. They they had Sierra, So that's how Sierra is now an activision brand, and that's how Half Life is somehow caught up in this stuff. They published that game, and yeah, I don't know. The whole thing is just a fucking mess. Every corporation at some point you just dig it all back. It's it's they're all fucking messages. A lot of handshakes, back room deals, a lot of golf getting played, a lot of people getting stabbed. Yep. Also that Mountains of cocaine, right, No, I don't know anything about. Yeah, a lot of weird business stuff going on though. Yeah, in the wake of e three solidations and such. In lieu of the news section, because like we said, there's not much, we're gonna revisit the the movers and shakers of the three yes, and kind of see where we're at, see what we thought of things, all right, more DBox talk. Yeah, we are gonna build the list. We're gonna build a list and what number are we shooting for? Ten? The top ten games. We're gonna build a list, an ordered list of ten Yes, and informal, totally officially official accurate giant bomb cast. Yeah, best in case those fuckers out east want to do something similar, but I don't want to. I don't want to speak for them things of E three Yeah and so yeah, well, I guess let's try to set the rules here. This is just software, uh, and we don't care if it's playable or not. This is not like something we're just like coming out of the show. What are the ten things that you want to see more of, want to play more of? You know what got you hyped? Should we get some layups? First? Zelda, the Legend of Zelda, Breath of the Wild. Let's not be too hasty. Okay, Oh, come on, it's gonna be our. We're gonna build a big list here and then whittle it down. So what are the laps? What does that call the legend of the Breath of the Wild? Wild? Just breath of the Did I started doing the same thing you did of calling it breath of the Wind? I've seen some other people doing that too. So yeah, So we have a list here of one hundred and seventy games turned seventy one games on our three twenty sixteen concept page, which is not complete on account of I just added one to it, rip Coil the wind Jammer's style, and Tron like the R game that uses oculous touch. So I'll try to fill in some gaps if we if we notice any big holes here in this list, but I've got a list up here so we can at least kind of look through that stuff this way. Is Ambo eligible? Nope? Okay, a lot a video game? Well yeah, so yeah, this will be based on fucking obviously perfect science, at least scientific process. And do you have I understand you have a lot of experience ranking things. I am a scientist. I build lists for a living. Uh so I'm looking over here. What do you guys think about Injustice too? I might I'm gonna. I was thinking about including that on this list, as it seemed cool. A provisional list, A provisional list. I didn't see it of close. I just saw that trailer last week. Yeah, it's kind of it's it's very similar to the previous game, and I happen to like that previous game. I did, you know, Like we said, Jason's busy unloading things, but I did solicit his top three things of the show. Yeah, Justice not one of those. Okay, all right, All right, Uh, what what do you have? He's got God of War. Yeah, yeah, I think that's I think that makes our long list. That's that's a contender for sure. Yeah, he's got Tech and seven down. I would I would certainly put that. I would include that on this long list. And then to hear him describe this, it kills me that I didn't go see it. But he says Absolver is a huge thing for him. Yeah, yeah, that sounds awesome. It's the thing that Devolver Digital announced the week before. It is I thought it was a one on one fighting kind of it's not a fighting game. It's like kind of third person, behind the back looking melee combat, and I thought it was mainly gonna be a one on one kind of martial arts focus thing. But he said there's some straight up brawling, just like you fighting hordes of guys as well. Is it like those Naruto games that he loves? No, I don't think so. He described Actually I just read his description. A three D brawler, slow, deliberate souls combat, set in a Journey esque multiplayer environment, staggering amount of customization to your move set, and strings of combos, Lots of potential here, Like he was saying like like you can be fighting alongside other people and not know if there are other people or not, Like they could be they could be AI, or they could be real people, and you like mote back and forth like Journey style. Like that sounds elaborate, Like I was gonna put this in the same ballpark as four Honor as being this kind of like wide battlefield more but really focused on kind of the one on one combat. But yeah, this this sounds like maybe it's it's a little bit larger than that in some cases. Anyway, that's his stuff, which you think about wild Lands, Ghost Recon wild Mind. I never played that demo I played because as of the Ubisoft press conference, I was still under embargo, although like actually made the rounds with the Xbox booth and they had that same demo I played on the show floor, so it's not like they were trying to keep that thing under wraps or whatever, but they just I don't Yeah, that demo that I played would not look anywhere as good as the press conference footage, right, And generally I would give them because it's like games like a year away, I would give them the benefit of the doubt. And say like, of course they got a year or left, they're gonna right, it'll shape up a lot. But then again, UBISOFTO is kind of a track record. Yeah, it's showing concept footage and they're not quite hitting the targets. So it sounded kind of like maybe it was just a little dicey across the board. It worked, but it was super guided, Like we had a guy in our kind of networked headsets telling us what to do, and the AI largely kind of didn't fight back. If he would take us to a camp, andy like I'm like, all right, send your drone out and go around and tag all the enemies. Now, all right, player one, you draw beat on that guy and blah blah blah, and he would like set up these scenarios. Just seemed like a four player Far Cry game kind of yeah yeah, yeah, which like has merits. Yeah, Like the stage demo they showed, I thought it looked pretty awesome. Yeah that that if that's what the final product ends up going for, then that that still could be cool. And like, you know, maybe their AI is just not ready yet or whatever they were showing in that demo, like the systems aren't in place enough for it to work and practice yet. But I don't know that i'd be comfortable putting it on the list purely because the demo didn't quite match up to what they shown on stage. Yeah, all right, but Horizon Zero done? Yeah, yeah, Yeah. I came out of the three saying like, yeah, if I could take one of these games home and just play it. Yeah for the weekend following three. I came into the three with that pretty big on that game, So for sure it looks pretty great. Yeah. Is Death Stranding eligible? Yeah? I think so. I just don't think I would put it on there. Yeah, okay, I saw that game. Agree, it doesn't look like a game, right, that's all these all these like people giving it like best of the Three awards and stuff, and I'm like, what are you what are you putting a ribbon on? Like's nothing? But you know, baby, if we do this list at all, it is specifically because the whole concept is dumb, you know, like like this is the you know, the I'm not saying it's not eligible, I'm just saying, like, what, what's But like, coming out of the show, if you're like, what are the best things of E three? The things that you want to see more of Slash. Talk about Slash like that's a definite top ten, that's that's the top on three for me, that that is like a meaningful edition. But top ten to three you're you're you're a fool uh tarts games. I can play right now or learn more about definitely top three. Okay, alright, alright, and that cont I'm very curiously game. See. I mean, yeah, yeah, they am. Also they will come when that's all any of us want to know about. It's just there's nothing to know about yet, you know, like they I'm not convinced that what they showed was actually anything the first place. Yeah, I thought I saw some wording out there implying that that trailer didn't necessarily have much of anything to do with the game. They will make sure. I don't know even the title the yeah, okay, yeah, you wouldn't announce a fake title, because then you're branding something that doesn't I think it was it was something about what he said about Mormon Redis and how he had like been gracious enough to lend his time to that trailer or something. Maybe not him like I do. There's like posters that say Norman Yeah, I guess it would be insane to announce this game with his image all over it and then not have him in the final game, right, But who knows? No. I the when when Mark McDonald was on the couch talking about some of the interpretations he had heard for that thing, as that whole trailer just being like, you know, his story with Konami of having his baby ripped away from him and all the stuff like that, seems like it's just more of that, Like it seems more like that than an actual game. But but we'll see, all right, I'll write it down. We'll have that argument later, U rafe, I haven't seen it. Still, it's talk to the creator quite a bit, and his heart seems very much in the right place. Yeah, I don't think I realized that was at E three. It was across the street. It was a weird It was the Volver lot. Yeah, let's see here, Halo Wars two. Anyone play any of that time. I saw the demo. It's Halo Wars all right, so you you kind of know what that is, right, Okay, Okay, Yeah, from the footage I watched, it looked like more of that. Yeah, you guys played sieves, women drinks is like one of my big biggest games coming out of that show. Is they didn't show it or that demo didn't have a lot in it. Yeah, but what I saw, I sure, yeah, we we we did a four player like let's let's move the ship around, right. I think that stuff looks cool. I didn't play it, but I think that stuff look looks cool. And if they extend that sort of thing to other realms of the Tyrant universe, like finding a treasure map and doing a quest on an island with your buddies. They did say that that stuff was in the game. Those are big part the game. Yeah, that's the kind of stuff that I want to see that games could potentially be amazing. Yeah yeah, okay, I'll write that down. I'm just gonna write down res infinite here was that was there to ten Fall two? Yeah? Yeah, totally like like that is that may actually be the top of my list, that might actually be it. I don't I don't know, I you know, we got to think about it a little bit. But uh, Battlefield one mm, I actually it looked like a fine battlefield game that I think. I was actually a little underwhelmed that it just looked like a good Battlefield game. Can we just put Weed on the list? Yeah, I mean it was we is we to products, That was Microsoft is getting into the business. That's that's true. Actual is literally again, I'm just gonna write Weed down here, but we'll have to revisit that at some point. Yeah, I think Battlefield one looked kind of like it looked very beautiful and like kind of standard. You know what that thing is you're looking to go like, oh, well you have a tank class. Now that's they're making some changes that will be super meaningful to people who played Battlefield. But and you know, the Zeppelin stuff, the armored train stuff sounds fascinating, but I yeah, it kind of just looked like another Battlefield game. Yeah, especially for all their lip service about it, like oh this this change and setting is like totally gonna like, yeah, I stopped Snoop Dog run into that wall. He could do that in Battlefield Hardline. He could do that in Battlefield four. At the end, there's been zero So yeah, the one I saw he was O and three. I think that was the second round. Okay, I'm pretty sure the first round the people were saying he was O and O, which is maybe my favorite thing about the three. Yeah, congrats to EA, while just a special call out here, congratulations to EA for maybe having one of the dumbest fucking things I've ever seen happen at E three. Uh Ever, like it really worked out, and I like, congratulations, you made people talk about your fucking dumb thing. And on top of that, I'm sure all those people posted to Twitter saying come walk look at me played battlefield hashtag battlefield hashtag ad zac efron really wants to Winny how many followers to snoop have Probably quite a few, sure, so just you know, yeah, awareness building campaign, why not? Why not? You made an E three moment that we'll live on forever and maybe that's more important than precious moment. Uh So, fucking yeah, congratulations. I want to play more forts the Horizon three. Yeah that was that looked super good or any I didn't actually play it. Yeah, I just watched you guys think of recorps like maybe a little more shootery focused. Yeah, that's I had a meeting with was there actually and something I forgot? Okay, some of the arms take back everything I said. So it was it was weird knowing mighty number nine is coming out because seeing him in there doing that, because then I was like, wait a minute, how many different games does he have? His finger was kind of a lot for a while. Yeah, Like he's busy. He's busy providing concepts to everybody, Right, he's laid down for the concepts. What if there was a gun? I don't know, what if what if you could what if instead of Mega Man you had a core that you put into different what if you put the power into the concept? Yeah? So I watched them do a demo with that. Yeah, that looks cool, that looks all right. I got a weird Okay, it's something about the font work or something like that. But if you told me that that game was like a stealth sequel to Perfect Dark zero and said like, this is these is the continuing advantures of Adventures of Joanna Dark, I would actually totally buy that. It's an obviously completely different game, but there's just something about the look of it, and it's it being this kind of like b tearish sort of thing that just I don't know, something about it just like reminded me of of Perfect Dark Zero. That's probably not a good thing, But bring in unity all right, just like you can see a lot of Triple A console games being made on Unity. At some point, it's actually not a Triple A game here? Is that? I guess? But is it not? Does that disqualify it? I think when we think about Triple A, it means big budget, sixty dollars, big ass game. You're saying Banjo because we nuts and Bolts. Not a Triple A game. I'm saying, it's part of that vanishing tier of games that were often great, genre classic, some of the best games ever made. But uh, but you know sometimes that happens, right, and it's not Triple I it's true, that's true. So the shooting, I think everybody who came out of that stage presentation going like, wait, this is a shooter, right, but the shooter is all or the shooting is all walk on, Okay, it's there's not really much of an aiming component because you've got that doesn't necessarily make it sound better. But you've you've got a double jump and an air dash, like right out of the gate some books of things. So it's yes, do human Oh god, I don't think so. I don't know. Is it Sunset Overdrive but with more guns? Maybe not platforming looked a little suspicious. Yeah, just the way that the character impacted or did not impacked to the ground, I think I think it looks all right. But yeah, the combat stuff is a lot, a lot more about mobility than a you're not lining up shots, you're dodging shots. You know. It's more about getting around very quickly. And there's an elemental damage component to the combat because the enemies. The enemies will change their color alignment, which dictates what types of attacks they're doing, and then you have to change your your damage type to compensate. Okay, they showed a boss fight, but they're the main thing. Like, the thing that game seems built around is that whole idea of moving that personality sphere between robots, right, and they were showing any of that. Okay, all right, that's maybe at because I was gonna say, what sort of powers do you have? Because that games out in three months and that seems like the hook there, And they didn't show how or I even asked and they said that they weren't ready to talk about how that system works yet. Oh we took all that out right, it's in there, but they just didn't say and then the game is not an open world game, but they said it's open. Yeah, that makes and kind of nonlinear. It sounds like you have like a home base you go back to and you can kind of pick your nuts. Like some people are comparing it to Mega Man in weird ways, Like I could kind of see some of that. I've got a hot co concept for you, what if we made another Megama. It's a blue boy who's very sweet, and he's a friendly robot built by a kindly old man. And do you have a dog. Eventually we'll get there, not initially, because there's a good scientist and a bad scientist, yes, and they are warring scientists, and one has made many robots go crazy and become bad men, and you have made you the good scientist, have made the good boy the perfect robot. Can you tell from the names which one's good and which one's the bad scientist? I mean, yeah, absolutely, okay, Yeah, that one is like very just heavenly in his presentation, the other one mischievous. Oh okay, so it'srazy yeah, definitely definitely doctor rascally uh and he's got a rascal scooter. The he just rides through juristic hip deep water over and over again, which is the only nice thing he's ever done. Anyway, record looks kind of but I don't feel like I saw it. Yeah, for sure. I thought that looked really cool last year, and I hope that thing pans out yea. But yeah, all right, how about Dead Rising four? What'd you think? That looks really good? Yeah? Did you go see it on the floor. That's the thing that I watched some people play it and talk to a guy from Capcom Vancouver about it. It is a sequel, yeah, it is. Is it is in the chronology. It just happens to him again. Yes, Frank West actually ends up back in Willamette with another zombie outbreaks. Wait, but it's Christmas. Okay? I like that twist. Yeah, that's great. Yeah as also it's Christmas. H yeah he said, he said. You know, Dead Rising three is pretty good comparison in terms of it being an open world and there's vehicles and stuff like that. Also, the time mechanics like totally gone. Oh weird. I don't know. I had a real love hate relationship with those things. It was a nightmare. But it gave that game like a weird, very different identity, an urgency to those games. Yeah, I mean three had already softened that stuff a ton. Yeah he was still there though, so there was an aspect of that stuff. But they this this guy I talked, it made it sound like that stuff is just totally gone. I don't know if that looks good, but not to Gears Gears. I feel like they you know, I am, I am excited about Gears. I like that they confirmed that Horde mode is back, and I am interested. Interested in playing that game on your PC on my PC, absolutely yes, But at the same time, not top ten there not top ten material, like I am, I am ready for new Gears of War game. Fuck Gears of War Judgment. That was a a bad Gears of War game. It was especially after Gears of War three being like this, Like I felt like I was say what you will about the fucking meathead story that those fucking games have. But like that was a good crescendo of just like, oh man, he fucking he sat down and took the dew rag off everything. Everything came to a head and three and yeah, literally showed his whole head pretty excitingly. And but they left just enough of an opening to make you kind of want to know something about the nature of that universe. But what if you got to learn more about Baird. No, Baird is a piece of ship. Where did you get those goggles? He's the worst of the four. Ye he's a piece of garbage. He's the miss Basically, that's a pretty good way to put it. Fuck Baird. Yes, you don't fucking base a game around Baird. So whatever. The Mark's Phoenix's son, Sure, why not? That's a you know, a flash flash forward some time. Get a look at you know, it's a great reveal. What at the end of that demo? Bearded dads are kind Yeah, definitely you're the Dad's You're the Grappling Hook the Bone Commando two. Your dad is in the Grappling Hook. So that's gonna be pretty Oh shit, they did. Maybe I've spoken out of turn about the future of the Bone Commando franchise. I'm with you that that campaign demo looked good, but yeah, it looked like gears. Yeah, I don't know I would call it top ten, but like, I'm fucking more than ready for that. I hope or Mode is great. Hope that Hord Mode is outstanding, because that's absolutely some of the things that they said about Horde mode about you know, kind of wanting it to be more about moving around, determining where in the environment you want to make your stand as opposed to being about like emplacements and saying like you hold down this fort that we built for you. Uh. Seems very promising. So I have high hopes for Gears. But pray, pray. What is system It's a system shot game. They're making a system shock. Yeah. It sounds super cool and promising, but there's not a lot to go on there. Like Sean Elliott's working on that, and he was tweeting some stuff, some little factoids here, and there are just some nuts and bolt stuff about, like like oh, you can move all the way from one end of the station to the other and stuff like that. You know, just if you want to know a few little things about how that game flows. Yeah, read to really irrational. Yeah yeah, yeah, he's been at Arcane Austin for a while. Oh god, why is Chris Avalon is writing that game? Right? That's cool, pretty awesome, Yeah, because he is enormously respected as a game's writer. Yeah. I feel like the what they showed didn't necessarily like I want to know more but it was it was it was a neat like haunting trailer, but that's kind of all. It was Dishonor too. Yeah, that look good. I'm gonna put that on here. Okay, yeah, we're talking about it. Yeah, it looked like more Dishonored, which is because a lot a lot of people really liked Dishonored, so that's great for them. Like that game never quite clicked for me. Same here. I never beat it, Like I liked what they were doing, but I don't know if I liked playing. I thought I thought the Blink was something that just could have been playing that budget cuts Demobe makes me think about the Blink and Dishonored and how it could be done differently, like kind of like like, hey, I just want to see where I'm gonna end up a little bit better than Dishonored one did, and maybe they'll, you know, maybe they'll address that in some ways. But I thought that world was really cool. Yeah, the world designed world building stuff has always been pretty top much. You played Steep right, Yeah it's no good? Yeah that's who Yeah? Really yeah it's not good. Yeah sounds like yeah yeah, yeah, Quake Champions, I think there's way too many waiting sees on the Yeah, that's the sort of thing that like you tell people that Saber interactors making it, and you get a lot of oh oh again you not a little write that okay too fast? No, definitely not. But uh I have I have heard said that there are a lot of people there that would know what a new quake came should have. Right, But then there's also the hero like the ability stuff. Yeah, maybe a little questionable, but again, you know, it's kind of it seems sha quake con write that stuff off. Yeah, I that is. I I'm happy that they're making a new quake. I hope it's not garpege. The fact that it's PC only seems promising. Yeah yeah for now. None of us are that quick to put days gone on here. No, I know me, I didn't. I want to sure I'm not crazy here, Like I thought that did not look good and really at all. I think I think it just didn't tell it, Like, it didn't say enough about what that thing is other than just like you have guns and there zombies. This time the zombies kind of flow like water a little bit more and that's you know, interesting tech, okay, but nothing about that game looked interesting to me, and anyway, that's how I to need to see way more of that. Yeah, agreed, uh it Prentiss could be cool, you know, open open world game. Finally that whole like what if there was a zombie invasion? But I mean the idea that you're your bounty hunter that goes from kind of human settlement to settlement, taking jobs and going out and doing stuff that might be cool. I don't know, but they certainly could build a great game around that stuff. For that stuff, Watchdogs too, anybody anybody get a good feeling out of that. I'm looking forward to playing it. The tone stuff really rubs me the wrong way. I think. I mainly just want to run around to San Francisco in a video game. I'm excited to see a detailed San Francisco in the Yeah it's been a little while. Yeah, Mario Party Star Rush. Yeah, yeah, I actually have not seen anything about it that I love. Spaghettios. Yeah, spaghettios are great. Let's I'll take it out and get it. Okay, they're either way, but yeah, you go, meat balls given sometimes sometimes and I have not eaten spaghettio in a very long time. They're still good. Uh. Sometimes I would get a can with meatballs and the meatballs would have a metallic taste to them. Yes, you know exactly what we're talking trend, and that would be disgusting. Do you ever get the franks little like hot dog pieces? No, those are good, that's all right. That does spaghet? Yeah, I don't think they made those. When I was eating yeah Frank Franks and being sure, but it's great. I don't know chefs here, oh yeah, yeah, yeah yeah. Call of Duty Infinite Warfare, I don't think so I'll play it. It's nothing for me that the demo, like sitting down and seeing like a different, a longer level from that game, really turned me around on that game, like seeing the stuff that leads up to that stuff in space. I thought it was the best looking demo that they've had in a while. Ye, yeah, I think so. At least it has gotten me the most excited that a Call of dty game. And I think if you if you include Modern Warfare Remastered in that package too, I think that that I'm very there's that. Yeah I am. I totally want that and I don't really care. So I saw most of the first level of that game. Uh, it looks great, Master, Yeah, yeah, it's a great look at my statue. Yeah, can we just put that on the list maybe yeah. I mean but I think like that as a package is really exciting. But I can't say for sure how it'll come out because we don't We won't know about the Infinite Warfare multiplayer until until fucking Call of Duty Experience experience, until cot XP happens, where they'll have some announcements around that game there. But yeah, I don't know. I came away from that thing. I came into that thing going like, ah, man, fucking space, like it could be cool, but Titan Fall already kind of has that like what is what is this game doing differently? And seeing the grappling hook space knees, murdering people in space stuff, I was like, Okay, this this might this will probably be actually fun, but it probably won't make top ten. So Headmaster, the PlayStation VR soccer game, I didn't. I didn't look at it because I think we're gonna get a closer look at it here soon, and I totally knew I wanted to play it, so I was like, I'll just wait till after the show that things killers. It's really goofy. It's the mechanics are are well realized, but also it's like it's just funny. You don't have to like soccer. No, okay, no, you're heading soccer balls into goals over and over again and getting scored points and and then they layer. Not no, no, no, no, I'm I'm sorry. Not Headmaster, not head Lander. Oh we're talking about head Oh head Landers. Okay, I'm sorry. Is that headless astronaut thing like that? That is a cool games alright, but no Headmasters game. Yes, okay, it was a newer stuff than the GDC. I didn't actually see it, but it was. It was a cool proof concept for sure at GDC. Yeah, so I think that's I think that's really cool. Maybe it doesn't, maybe it doesn't stay on the list, but speaking things cool, super yeah, super Hot VR announced during E three. I don't know if it was actually there, but holy shite trailer. The implications in that trailer are fucking mind blow which for which for Super Hot VR, which is right separate right game. Yes, the idea that a second Super Hot game is in production and will be out like sooner, and it's a VR game and the way VR plays into super Hot. Yeah, like the story and universe of it means that that could be really fucking weird. That's like not that far off. It's not that far off. If it's gonna be another tight, like two three hour thing like super Hot was, then yeah, could could be pretty close. I mean, look and see if I can find I still need to play super Hot. It's great, it's really good. We're on the subject VR star trek Bridge crew man. I wanted to play that so bad. Yeah, we we tried to make it happen and did not happen. We tried to set that up. We should we should should call them. Yeah, I'm try and get a hold of them. But uh yeah, I think that that looks really cool. But I feel like I have way too many questions about it right now. I need to play it to to kind of to put it on this list. So I hope that that thing is as good as it could be, because holy shit, I hate to be that guy. But the fact that it's said in the movie universe is like a mild bummer to me. That's you know, none of the character voices will be the character don't care about the characters. I just want to I just want to work with l cars and VR. Yeah, that's that's a fair point. Like I want a bunch of classic ships in there. Maybe that's DLC, who knows the licensing will probably actually prevent that from happening. Battlefield we talked about Battlefield one Skylander's Imaginators. It's got a crash Bandicoot. It does creepy and weird played as crash Bandicoot. It's yes, he does he always have seorts. Yeah, yeah, a core part of the character to sign. Yeah, I never noticed that. It sounds like Alex Awston has some nice things to say about Mafia three. Yeah. The way the way they talked about that sounded promising. Yeah, the setting sounds great. Yeah. Yeah. It just sounds like they're really just leaning into that and really going for it, which is cool. Sounds awesome. I'm gonna put that on this list here, kind of think about it later. Paper Mario Color Splash. I'm interested. Yeah, I don't know if it's top ten. I mean, have you heard how it works? I played it? Oh you did? Okay, Yeah, it's cool. It sounds like it's not really Mario party, Mario No More Paper Mario. In the vein of like Sticker Star, it seems we're like, you're not leveling up and it doesn't have RPG mechanics, which is a bummer to me. But as soon as you start comparing it the Sticker Star, yeah, I kind of feel the same way. But the art design was really good in the dialogue and everything was really funny, So it will be worth playing, I think for the charm and humor and everything, but I might prefer the Mario Luigi series. Hey, guys, feel about Gwent the Witcher card game? That's all right? Yeah, I have to admire their ambition though, right well, specifically for getting that that three piece figureoa ad and then taking the entirety of the show to fucking paint it up. Hope they got their fucking money back. Yeah, like, oh sorry, we were supposed to paint this up here three days ago. That part was weird. But the ideas they put a card game up on the fig grow Up psych for grow Up, I don't Yes, I will totally play it, but I'm actually a little concerned. I'm slightly skeptical with coming coming from the company that is the poster child for taking too few activities and stretching them too thin across giant worlds. Like when you tell me that this like amazing little four hour thing is now being spun out into like like a giant thing, and the new step doesn't necessarily sound that great, like oh, you can plant some seeds and bounce on all. That doesn't sound like a big enough of a change. It could be, it could be amazing. I will totally play it, but I don't know for sure. Days x man Kind Divided. I played h I played that prior to the show. Yeah, I didn't, because you had played it and we talked about it. I hadn't. I didn't go look at its a lot of key asks for that on the floor. Yea, yeah, yeah, I did see it running on PC. They were showing that breach the breach mode thing there also, which is a separate mode that I kind of take it or leave it. I get why they're doing it, but I don't know that. I think that the story and that thing seems really good. But at the same time, it seems like they're making another day sex, like they're gonna iron out and smooth over some of the things, but like they're very much making that game, which to me is pretty exciting, especially because that games out pretty fucking soon August September, yeah, end of August, so we're you know, that's that's kind of right around the corner. I thought that looked really cool and and pretty close to done, but maybe it wasn't like a flashy thing, and they're their announcement of the breach mode thing like that kind of didn't really that didn't really do it for me, so I'd be okay leaving it off. You guys, don't You don't seem to be going nuts over this one way or the other. We already put Tech and seven on there, which, uh, Tech and seven is fun. I played a tag tournament too over last it was free, right, How is that it's a good tech game? Yeah? Yeah, it's fun. This Tech and seven though it adds supers and stuff that, like you know, when you are nearly out of health, you've got some moves you can pop off and like they're they're much more dynamic about showing big hits and crazy shit just zooming and slowing down. Just does any of that stuff feel street fighter esque? So Akuma totally does in a way that is like alarming, Like like they turned the kumas. It's a four button game, so it's not full but like a Kuma jumps more like a street fighter character than a tech And character. He has a fucking ex meter and super meter on screen. It's weird. Are you using like fireball motions and dragon punchs? Yeah? Te tech And has that stuff like you do dragon punches to do dragon punches with Kazuoa. Yeah, likes fist as a fireball. It's not there's not as much like projectile type of stuff like that's like Ogre laser blacks. Yeah. This this is the same deal, where like you can sidestep out of the way of the as fireballs just as you could you know, the lasers and stuff. I'm just super curious if any of the work that was done for in this. Yeah, I bet it had, probably right or at least like this was the test to figure out, like, hey, how would we make a Tech and Cross Street Fighter? It makes sense anyway. A Kuma feels really good in that game in a way that I would like to like, I would like to see Tech and Cross Street Fighter because of how they treated a Kuma, because of how a Kuma comes across like it feels like Street Fighter but also has this very like slower, more deliberate kind of animation style of something more like techn But it's fucking weird. If they made that game and if that was like some Street Fighter offshoot, it would be like Street Fight of the movie. And I don't necessarily mean that in a bad way anyway. I had Tech and seven this school, this story mode. It seems like it's leaning into it could be leaning into the dumbest shit that we love for Tech and all the ending movies and stuff, so they can spread that out across the full mode that we surprised how ready I for a new techn game because I haven't cared about Tech and the like since three. We watched a lot of Tech and endings over the weekend, and they're really the best fighting game endings. Yeah, they were sure. It's like there's some great concepts in Mortal Kombat endings, yeah, where like you know, Irax in the Desert, Yeah yeah, But but the execution on Tech and endings is really just especially like well a lot of that was because they were so unexpected though when they first started doing that stuff, because like one was pretty serious, no one way it was already okay, you know we have like fucking bears and other like the characters of Tech and you kind of gore into two and three is when they really started going for it, like, yeah, you'd get like you could get the odd anime ending when the rest of my cg just yep, man, that's crazy. Yeah, we happy few. I think that has to be on this nest like that is Dave Gemo was like an excellent showing yes I was super killer. Yeah, the only the only line. I'm not saying this is necessarily going to reflect badly on the game in the end. But the thing that gives me pauses that the apparently the game is nothing like that. Well, so that this is the playable, that's the intro, but you get thrown out and then it's generated when you're on the streets, so it's a it's a survival game once you get out there. Yeah. I heard somebody say it was like Serrire being hunted. I saw that comparison. But that game was, you know, conceptually cool, like I didn't play very well apparently, but that game had good ideas, like a better game like that, Yeah it could be cool. Yeah, it's it's a cool setting, cool world. Yeah. Yeah, that that intro was as they play around with the stuff of like being on the drugs, not on the drugs, and and all that sort of stuff. Yeah, I think playing with that could be really cool. I think this. I think that that game has to make the time. I'm I'm definitely very curious, so cool about that game. I assume we're not putting a Detroit on here. It doesn't seem like there's I don't know that I was and I don't think I'm curious to play it, but I don't think it's the top pack. Hear. I'm definitely gonna play it. Yeah, but hearing awesome talking about the demo, Yeah, it sounded seems like another one of those. Sounds like another Quantic Dream game. Yeah, Dragon Quest Builder. Did you guys take a look at that? Oh I didn't good. It seems really good. I really meant to go check. Seems like the first half hour of it. Yeah, like you're the only character that gets the concept of like building things. Yeah, you're the only character that understands the notion of putting things with other things to make new things. I like that and the dialogue that they wrote around that is fucking ridiculous. Uh in a way that I that was I found kind of endearing. I like its look, uh and I think it's it seems like a fun way to kind of do the minecrafty building thing. It gives you good reason to do it, uh. I was. I was pretty impressed with that game. We heard good things coming out of Japan when it launched. Uh And I'm I really want to play that game when it comes out. Uh. Inside inside there there was a I mean it was at the Price conference. I don't think it was in the booth, I guess, so, you know, like for some of these other games that we're getting into, it's I don't know anything about it. I don't want to know any more about it than I do, But I really want to play that because I loved Limbo. Yes. Yeah, the idea that the new game from the makers of Limbo is almost here is yeah, pretty exciting. This month it's next week, Oh god, it's it's next week on Xbox One and then the week after on Steam. Okay, cool, all right, all right, inside down we can have that conversation. There's that fee game that seems pretty cool. I don't think that's top ten. Look, yeah it looked Okay, I'm curious. Yeah, which one feel It's very purple, it seems very musical or weird creatures sound based at least a show that they devoted like a lot of times. I remember the logo, but man, I cannot picture for what the game looks like like the game the game is missing from my memory. I remember they got announced, I remember they're coming out, and got like, oh they're doing another like unraveled style deals. It's got kind of this hard edge or like kind of angular look to the art style. Okay, it's starting to come to me now. Trees and stuff, a lot of a lot of purples and blues, and you sound quite a bit in Mechanics. Clearly did not make it. I was gonna say Rhythm having mega mix, but that game is fucking out, fucking fuck this list. Go turn this podcast off and go buy Rhythm. Haven't Actually I started playing some of that three years yeah, yeah, yeah, it never played so much of those, but people told me if I like warrior Ware, I could play it. Yep. Really yeah, it's like a rhythm game. Warrior Ware kind of like it's like a micro game, elaborate mechanics like not not elaborate, elaborate setups for very simple mechanics. And one of the best wrestling games to come out in the last ten year. I'm sorry, one of the best wrestling video games to come out in the last ten years. There's wrestling. Yeah, yes, I'm gonna play that. There's wrestling. You already had me with Warriorware, but then he said wrestling too. Let's see here. Still kind of scrolling through here, I've got a couple of honorable mentions. Yeah, from all from the Focus Home Interactive okay, booth oh right, yeah, yeah, Farming Simulator seventeen. Maybe you've heard of it. Did you go to that appointment with those guys? You did? Yeah, I'm sure they will go into more detail on the Beast cast, But I thought, I thought all the games that they showed off their looks cool. Yeah. When I was talking to them about that appointment before the show, and I was like, yeah, okay, I mean, nothing else focused, but I don't know that you guys have a lot that's in our wheelhouse. And then they sent the game's list. I was like, holy shit, this might be the appointment of the show. Yeah, Space Hulk and the adult NOD game Space Hulk looks wild. It is a first person shooter. Yeah, and you sort of outfit your your guy before going into the mission, and you've got a party of two or three other guys and you walk real slow. It's like you're a mech. Is it real time? Yeah? And everything? Yeah, all right, because original Space Hulk for PC and three D or whatever was like yeah, by the guys who made Eye Devine Cyber Fine, fine, cibermancy are now making this. But the trailer they put out before he three looked really good. Yeah, it's I it's a wild looking game. And uh Vampire yeah, which I thought sounded cool. That's where it looked cool. It looked really good. Actually, Makers Life is Strange. Uh yeah, Vampire action RPG or something. I'm not sure that game is for me, but I think it looks really solid. But the one that really I think piqued my interest was the Surge, Yeah, which is sort of I mean sci fi dark Souls is what gets thrown around a lot, and I think that's an apt comparison. Yeah, but that's the same people that made Lords of the Fallen, which was a fantasy dark Souls. Yeah, it was Dark Souls. Someone's got to make dark Souls. Yeah, totally from is not gonna make dark Souls. Someone will fill the voids thirteen something anyway. Yeah, like Lords of the Fallen was my favorite U team map. Yeah, that game was like unapologetically dark souls. Like it looks like they're doing the no no, no, no, what's the Fallen? Who put out Lords of the Fallen? Surely Napco didn't put that game out because they also, this looks way different. It's really science fiction, all right. Not different in the combat. A little different in the combat. That's awesome footage of it. And it was all melee based, And yes, Namco put out Lords the s Yeah, but you can. So if you're fighting a guy all the all the enemies that I saw were so you're a you looked appeared to be some sort of uh, not a construction worker, but like a guy, like a like a loading doc guy. Everyone's wearing exo suits, but all your co workers, as they called them, have gone insane or something. So you're fighting them in their loader suits. And if the guy that you're fighting has a like, say a helmet that you want, you can target that part of his body you can target like arm leg head. Uh. And then if you do that and perform enough successful hits to it it his head flies off, and then you can loot that as as part of interesting your success. That sounds cool. Yeah, it's got a good look to it too. All Right, Well we're that's the end of the list. But there's a few games that I kind of glossed over. They're probably worth mentioning, Like Dawn of War three. Uh was there, That's all I'm saying. I didn't necessarily jump out at me in any way. The demo that I watched, Uh, Lute Rascals, this is kind of a cool looking thing. I don't know necessarily makes it onto this list, but I just wanted to say. Lute Rascals stated the K two is absolutely one not my thing. Yeah, they didn't show that at all obviously. Yeah, I guess they didn't really show much of it. Tacoma two, Uh wait, the sequel to Tacoma. You didn't hear. They're just jumping right to two. Facema looked really good. Mass Effect Andromeda, which I would love to see more of that game. You cannot believe we were coming out of E three with so many questions about that game, like like way more questions than answers. Yeah, just like when is it out? It's like Q one next year. Yeah, they said like fiscal this year. Yeah, it's kind of sorry they didn't go hard on that one. I show anything. And I like literally saw this going around in a tweet, So take okay, saw but they made it sound like they had gotten this directly from developers, that they have the like the choice of character is back, but that the female playable character will be the default this time. Okay, that was like the only piece of information I've been able to pick up. That's fine, that's that's I have a zillion other questions, right, but like it kills me. That was like one of the things I wanted to know the most about going. You know, show like it EA isn't such a weird spot. It's been a weird spot for years. When it comes to E three and what they choose to show and don't show, you know, it's showing stuff way too early, showing stuff like that, you are not showing stuff that you think they should be showing. I get the impression that they just focused on the sports stuff because that's like, you know, it's a big mainstream thing. And then Battlefield and Timefall, you know, their games for the holiday, the games they really want to get over to people like really, well, it makes sense plays plays to the mass market quite well, whereas like Mass Effects being a Q one game. That's the thing, though, I don't know when they'll start talking about it, like gas Calm maybe, or maybe they just do their own thing. Sure, maybe they just do their own streams or something. Yeah, but a lot of people Battlefield did that. Yeah right, yeah, yeah, yeah, don't give a fuck about They don't need to go to anyone else to say, please announce our game, right, They've got their own mechanisms in place so they can do on stage. Yes. Yeah, zac Efron comes out and goes, hello, I am the new default playable character in Mass spect Andromeda. I'm dying to know more about that game. But I feel like, because they didn't show that much, it's kind of hard to throw it. Absolutely. Yeah, I think that's that's the right move. But yeah, there, you haven't so any anything else that you feel like we have not brought up. Feel I feel like we're probably missing a ton of stuff. Like I played them looking over the appointment list. I played the climb with Oculus Touch. It makes way more sense with that stuff. I don't know that I would still say that it's like a fantastic game, but just jumping way hard. Let's go down the list here, Agents Mayhem. We played that. That's Agents and Mayhem is neat. Yeah, I have high hopes for that game. Yes, the like I think I agree with you. Coming out of that demo that like, the gameplay itself felt a little off. It was old, rough, like it hadn't been tuned or there's a lot of things. Yeah, I turned up the turning radius on on it a lot and it felt a lot better than it did by default. So there's that. But yeah, just in terms of just like how the weapons are hitting and not hitting and all that sort of stuff, just felt like it needed some work. But the premise seems sound. The mechanics of switching out characters and stuff seems like it could be cool. You know, it's cool down based abilities and stuff. It seems all right. Uh. It seemed like Alex was the only one that was super big on SIF six. I think he's the only one saw it, But he is the Civilization editor of giant bomb dot com CC is so yeah, uh, let's see, maybe that's it. Yeah, I'm trying to I'm trying to think, uh of other stuff, you know, some stuff that was there that we you know, we've seen another forms Pyre I think still looks cool. Pokemon, Yeah, Pokemon Moon do. We just wanted to like scrap this whole list and just have a vote over who the best starter is, top ten, Pokemon, top ten, Polo tie out. No, it's pop It's Poplo. He seems fine too. They all seem nice. The cat's name is the name of Okay Cat, and uh, they all seem fine. But I believe you mean hearing after the fact that people were talking a bunch of shit about Poplo. Really, I saw a lot of photo shops. I don't get it, Poplo, I don't get it. Makes you want to take up arms? Yeah, right, the fuck man, paplios her nothing. There's nothing wrong with Populo. He's pretty chill. I think that's all I got here, Jeff, would you buy it Poplo Amibo? No? No? Okay, all right, No, I love him that much, saying I mean, I don't want to buy any amibo ever, regardless, So that's that's really kind of like not not my thing, all right, So we have a list. So we have a list here, uh, you know, in our highly scientific uh uh decision making process where we mostly just wanted to talk about a bunch of games and will now form it into a meaningless list. I've got the official, totally official lists that we have spent a lot of time and thought on, legally binding, legally binding, actually official. Yes, put this on the back of your box. List. Here's what we've got. The Legend of Zelda, Breath of the Wild, Injustice Too, God of War, Tech and seven four, Honor, Absolver, Horizon zero, Dawn Death, Stranding, Strafe, See If the Eaves res Infinite, titan Fall two, Weed Force, the Horizon three you say, Dishonored two, Mafia three, We Happy Few, Dragon Quest, Builders Inside, and far Point. I think I just added far Point without talking to anybody. Actually, now I think about it, far Point's probably worth discussing, but I don't know that it. Maybe it makes the list because I think there were some things about it last year that I think looked cooler and seeing it this year as it's kind of forming up into another a full fledged product, I'm like, there might need to be a little bit more to it than this. I didn't get a chance to play it, but some people were saying it's like very linear and kind of shooting gallery is. So, I mean, it's it's the way the movement kind of works is is. Yeah. There, the it is kind of this corridor you're walking down and shooting things along the way. You know, it opens up a little bit here and there in some ways, but it's it is really about kind of that style of movement, which can be confusing to people if they haven't done a lot of VR stuff. Because some people saying, like I had to back up to shoot a guy because he got behind me. He's like, no, turn around and shoot him. Because you are the you are the you are the man with the guns. They can turn around and shoot the And yeah, they put it that new controller, the aim VR. Yeah, so it's it's gets the PlayStation aim VR controller. I think it's what they're calling it. I could I'm probably wrong on some order. They not make that enclosure anymore. I guess not making Yeah, I mean, they'll have to make more move controls because some one of those over here at one point and I think it's got lost in the move because no, it didn't get lost. Oh it's so yeah, okay it found home I seek. Yeah, So that thing seems really weird because it's like the only game that uses it is far Point. Maybe they have a bunch of stuff, yeah, I mean mine. Certainly there's probably room for the gun controller for use in VR, but it just seems like that that seems like a strange thing to have right right here now. But just gave my move navigation controller to goodwill, like this VR is that? Yeah, I'm just doing a lot of literally uses it. Yeah, I've never used that thing, and I thought the move thing would just be the two move controllers. I mean, we don't know for a fact, but generally speaking gets two move controllers. But the if you have the shell that you're putting a regular move controller into that demo last year, absolutely use that never even if you don't have a shell, you can just hold them in the gun shape. Yeah, goddamn it, time to go buy another one. I guess I don't like wait until wait until stuff gets like out there because my understanding is that the shelf live on the batteries and a lot of move controllers, so that maybe your old moves might not be great. I bought one when it came out, and it's stolen the box that sounds about right, Just probably open it and see if it works. But about my night moves, your nine moves are good anytime, any day, anywhere. No, no worries about the night moves. I've been working on them, all right. So that's how many what number of games we have on this very very official list one, two, three, four or five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten alone twelve, thirteen, eighteen, nineteen twenty, So we have to cut half of them. So we need to take a break and then start cutting. I have no idea how how deep into the show we are. I don't know anymore either. I don't have a clock over here up including the break where at one forty seven, wow, man, So it's probably like we're probably like one twenty in the podcast. We can go for a few minutes, all right, let's give it twenty minutes or something. All right, I'm gonna say maybe we cut weed from the list this early. Yeah, I don't know. It was a pretty big presence. It was a big it was. It was a really big part of the EA's entire press conference like revolved around it. It ran on weed. But I think that they could have used that time for mass Effect and Drameda. Like. Ultimately, I'm disappointed by how much weed was represented in the conference when they had so many other things they could have been showing. They could have shared the stage weed and mass effects. I think so, yeah, I definitely think so. Yeah. There's room for both. The mass effect universes is vast. They were a little too busy smoking at Andromeda show off mass effect. But I think we should I think we should cut weed. Okay, I mean, you know, nothing against any games that I would immediately cut the strafe probably it just pops into my mind. Yeah, maybe not. I didn't see it. It sounds cool. I really, it's really cool. I think you will probably like it a lot as as a fan of run based games and Quake based games. It is a run based game that is deliberately evocative of of Quake. Sounds pretty good, Yeah it is. It is pretty much your alley. Uh, in a lot of ways. Uh. I would probably keep it on this. I would probably put it, you know, maybe tennis or something like that. But well, we'll see where we get uh Injustice too. Yeah, I know you're a fan. Yeah, I like it, but you know, like it's I think it's I think it's a really cool looking game. But also, yeah, I don't. I'm not really a big fan of the comic book yes stuff in the first place. I think that they made a great fighting game last time. This scene was like they're kind of on that same track. I think it was a good game for sure, the first one, but when you remove the Mortal Kombat element and add comic book characters, I just instantly lost interest in it. And if this is more of that than sure, I don't know. It's it's a very similar fighting system. You can meet burn your dash now, which probably means absolutely nothing to you in a meaningful way. So so I get it. Uh, I get it, I get it. I'll cut it all right, Uh how do you? Okay, let's let's say, uh see, if thieves you guys, you guys feeling I really am curious about it in terms of okay, if this list is like how excited are you for this game? Based on what they said and showed, like that game is in my top like two three? Yeah, Yeah, okay, I'm gonna I'm gonna move that up to a different list, okay, where we put the games that are probably in the top ten. I think we could probably lose for It's the Horizon. I don't know. Oh man, that does look really cool. I agree, but like it's a it's another for the Horizon game and you your car is driving around. I guess so about it. Like I'm not even a big racing game guy as far as like serious real cars and stuff, but everything about that looked really cool. It looks so pretty and like all the variety of environments they showed, and I kind of actively well it actively disliked as harsh but like Force. So Rising two was a bit of a letdown for me, but from the setting and just there were other things about it. I just think it just didn't do it as well as the first game did. This game seems like it's a little more in the direction of how I want Rising. It's getting closer and closer to burnout. Yeah, yeah, yeah yeah. Having that helicopters like air drop the car in when they joined your game was really good. I also thought it was really funny when they were driving that Lamborghini on the beach at the end of Yeah right, yea, yeah, uh, I'm not I don't know that I'm ready to cut that. Yeah, I mean yeah, I think it looks great. Horizon zero Down, however, probably stays on our list. Yeah. I think that Zelda and God of War kind of slam dunks for the Yeah, I would say those all should be on the Yeah. Okay, so that's that's four of our ten. It might it might be easier to just build the list out of what we have right and eliminate stuff. Yeah, all right, so we've got four. I think titan Fall two has to be on this list, can't I can't, Okay, I can't not have titan Fall two on this list. I want I want to know the robot story. Yeah so yeah, for me, like the multiplayer stuff is largely a known quantity, but what they showed at the campaign see the mode they showed, the multiplayer mode they showed is is like a cool twist on some of some stuff, Like what what their load out screen says about the loadouts in that game, even if they didn't show the custom load out is very inviting. Uh, And yeah, I think that that story mode stuff has a lot of potential, Like I fucking really want to play more titan Fall two. It was a shame that that thing was fucking like three block two blocks away from the show most of the show, and it's like, man, I would much rather have been able to sit here and just fucking play titan Fall two for like an hour. But but there you go. I am afraid for we happy few really. Yeah, yeah, after we're hearing about the like procedurally generated seven, it could be awesome. Yeah, it's just one of those things that I feel like tip either way. Yeah, there are definitely a lot of questions about it. I love the style, Yeah, I love the concept. The drug stuff and everything seems really interesting. That sounds that sounds a little pessimistic. It's to me, I see what you're saying that, Drew. Wait, when I heard that seven, I don't, I don't. I don't feel like that's necessarily like a knock against it. It's just that what they showed is not representative of most of what you're gonna be doing, right, So I can't say for sure. Yeah, I think we're probably okay to cut far point from this. Yeah. Yeah, Which which is okay inside is that I don't know anything about that other than it looks like a limbo game. I know a lot about it. I'm not sure what I could say yet, wait for the review, I think, but I don't know. I think I think it's hard to keep on a list like this when we don't know anything. So yeah, yeah, that's and also it's coming out in like a week, and I don't know. This seems more like some point the spirit of our list. Yeah yeah, again science, science being what it is. Uh, this is just how it goes sometimes, all right, So what we've got left here, that's kind of We've got five games on our list. We're looking for five more. We have Tech and seven, four, Honor Absolver, Death Stranding, Strafe, Res Infinite, Fortza Rise and three, Dishonored two, Mafia three, we Happy few, Dragon Quest Builders. I would vote for death Stranding and Dishonor two. I could see Dishonor two being on this list. Really. Yeah that that that made an impact with me in a way that I thought not possible, considering even bearing in mind how you feel about the first Yeah, yeah, all right, in that context, I could see it. Res I likes a lot, like, uh, fucking, it's amazing that Res Infinite exists, Like everything about it is crazy and cool, and they're making a cool new VR only mode, but at the same time, like, I don't know, it didn't feel like they're adding. They're adding a new mode and it's playable in VR, and it didn't feel like a factor ATTY three because we've seen it much as Infinite is is very exciting to me. But but yes, it's not like the E three showing as well, Like you've been on board since the beginning, right, Sure, all they have to say was, hey, we're going to do a rez thing, and I'd be like, what is it? Is? A book? Put you in a suit? Is it a T shirt that won't fit me? Fine, I'm on board. Is it more fucking vibrating stuff and headphones? Okay, let's go all right? Uh tech and seven I'm pretty fucking cool. I didn't play it, but the stuff they showed and everything I'm hearing from humans, So I played that stuff they showed, which is the story mode. So like some people were worried coming out of that because they were like, wait a minute, do I hate Is there an other quick time events in the fights? And no, there are quick time events in the story mode, because that's they're making this cinematic, crazy thing that as you kind of playing tech in in the middle of it all. But at some point you're like hit down on both punch buttons and now I'm doing the Raging Demon and fuck everybody, and yeah, that's I'm super excited, especially after playing a tech tournament to this again a minute. Yeah, I could totally new characters. We'll see. Jason and I played it for probably about half an hour, which was nice. We got you know, we just kind of hid in a room in Namco's meeting room off to the side. They just kind of said like here, here's a second controller, sit next to this PC and play Tech and seven on a PC. I'm like, fucking cool. So that was that was a solid appointment. There was a solid use of time. I felt real good about that. Do you tell what was going on with the Devil Gene? No, No, there's just there's there's not enough uh you know, there's not enough story. The story mode only had that one fight from the Actually think I didn't really get too deep into anything past that. It was we just played a bunch of verses mode and was like, okay, there are a lot of characters. Some characters are gone. You know, I didn't I didn't see Eddie Gordo on that list about Tiger. I did not see Tiger. I did not see Christy Montero, uh Monteiro, much less dancing on this game. Yeah, well, you know, we don't know. Wrong has a fucking sick eye patch though, so, and there's a shot of him on the versus screen where you can kind of see underneath the eye patch. It looks like his eyes. Fine, cool, all right, it looks like I might might just be fine. I don't know. I don't know. I do I do enjoy some horn, Yeah, yeah, absolutely, So okay, well but how did that look? It looks good because like I okay, I mean, I guess fighting games have kind of plateaued. I just I think back on Techn's history as like a graphics show piece, right, like, yeah, yeah, they launched multiple PlayStations with a techn game that looked amazing. We know when you when you die, it still does the thing that I think they need just need to fucking breed out of Tech. And at this point, it's just like, come on something, You're come up with something else, come up with something else, that's also dumb, but just come up with something else. Have the characters explode. How awesome would that be if they just fucking blew up at the end and you're like, well, volcano was inside him the whole time. They were like six rubcages. Yeah, look, well we're kind of getting town to it here. Seven. So we're looking for three games out of fore Honor, Absolver, Death Strandings, Ray Forts, Mafia. We happy for you, Dragon Quest. How do you feel about Absolver? I think that game looks really awesome. Yeh, Jason co signing it gives me some hope for that thing that I was hoping I would have helped for. Yeah, so I'll let's put that up up here. I wonder, okay with two more death Stranding Yeah, yeah, gotta gotta keep that on. Come on. I think that that's like the fucking most crazy bullshit of the show, and I feel okay, like rewarding dumb shit. Yeah it was, I mean it was. It was the most cogima ass announcement you could possibly ask, and I liked every second. Just when you when you like, is it a game? Fucking no, of course, don't be stupid like you know, we're at no point or were you like giving these awards based on the game myself, and he was coming out with like the Michael Jackson light up. Yeah, but he walking ahead of it and didn't he didn't stick to it. Oh man, perfect. It's just just fucking amazing. Just what a dumb and fucking like in a Sony press conference that was like often very lifeless, like having that man walk down there and do that. It's like, yeah, all right, fuck yeah, I don't know that. You know, the day will come when everybody in this room will want to know about nothing but that game. Yeah, like that's all any of us are going to care about at a certain point in time. But there's just there's just not that much there yet. It's a dark since it's coming, and it's a it'll be a dark time for us all, but it is coming. All right, Well, we have one slot left for Honor Strafe forts Mafia. We happy few Dragon Quest builders would say straight for Mafia based on the general enthusiasm. I didn't see Mafia, but I would feel better if any of us had seen Mafia. That yeah, the description they gave made it sound pretty yeah with it being our list and none of us going to then, and the East Coast guy is going to the Mafia appointment. I feel okay cutting it. I guess that's not indicative of anything on our highly scientific list, but that's just how it goes. Sometimes I feel like I'm between Strafe and four. So for Honors, Neat, I played the it's I played the tutorial mission. Uh, there's I wish that transitions between stances were just a little bit faster. Uh, there's some neat ideas to it that I bet would work a lot better in a multiplayer setting. There's something that really rubbed me the wrong way about that, and I almost wonder if it's kind of that. You see a lot of Ubisoft games that have that art style where its realistic but doesn't really have its own styles, just kind of this lifeless thing like I think Assassin's Creed has that Planty Games has dudes. Yeah, it's just normal ladies doing dude and lady life stuff. Yeah. Yeah, it's you know, yes, interesting if they it, If it was Ubi Arts for Honor, that would be funny that I would be totally with you, that would be fucking awesome. That'd be badass. Yeah, for Honors, neat. I don't know that it's our our tenth game here, uh, and I have some hope for it. It seems where are we at ten if we kept Mafia? Uh no, we are at nine. We did cut Mafia, so we basically we have four games. We're trying to choose one when to go on? One to go on? Okay, Oh okay, yes, Strafe Forts. We happy for you, Dragon Quest Builders. I kind of want to say Strave FMV tutorial video and Strafe alone is fucking awesome. If you guys feel that good about Strafe, I'm okay with it. Sounds awesome. I wish I wish I hadn't seen it. Yeah you should, Yeah, yeah you will, you will. You will see Strafe someday and hopefully it will live up to what we're saying here. Like I said, that guy seems to totally be in the right head space to make a game like that. Yeah, all right, all right, that sounds good. I think I'm okay with that. Okay, I'm really really curious about we happy for you, me too, But there's not too maybe not enough to go on there? Yeah for us at this point, and Dragon Vest Builders, I I hope that I hope that game is fun for a good long time. It has a really strong opening. I really want to play for its yep. Yeah, yeah, all right. So that means our list is see if Thieves, Horizon zero down, the Legend of Zelda, Breath of the Wild, have it written here is wild And I'm still saying when God of War, Titan Fall two, dishonor to Tech and seven Absolver Death Stranding Strafe. All right, so how do we want to apply the science from this point on out? Let's talk about potential number ones. Yeah, okay, that's why where we have to start. I think Zelda and God of War like mine is definitely Zelda, but those two have to be in the conversation for number one, right, I would say Horizon Zerodon is number three. I would probably would. I might say Horizon Zerodon at the top number one, that's that's absolutely wow, that is that is my number one game, but I saw it or played, Yeah, that's that's probably where I would say. Zelda is a is a fucking amazing number two on that list, and then God of War is probably probably there. I might think that might that's for me, that's high for both of those, but I'm not. I don't know. I thought Zelda looked fucking incredible, like that's Yeah, the control stuff seems weird, but a lot of it had to do with the way they were showing it, like it was on that short time or there's a ton of stuff to do in there, and it was a super short timer, and like the lady that was standing by my demo kept like urging me to go do stuff that ultimately and turn out to be kind of a waste of time for a little fifteen minute demo. Awesome, So I just I didn't get as good a sense of that game as I wish I had. But yeah, I'm just going off of watching what they streamed. Yeah, stuff is probably a better show looking at that stuff and kind of talking to once again, like not being any three is a better way to absorb a game they're actually trying to go play it. I think that the controller stuff is weird, but I think that that'll all pan out when they have a new controller to show. Uh. So we might disagree on the order, but are we all okay? With the top three being Zelda, Gout of War and Horizon. Horizon is gonna be number one based on room. What else? What else we got on there? Titan Fall two, dishonor to Tech and seven, Absolver, Death Stranding, Strafe, Sea of Thieves. I feel like t was the only other one would be. I'm that conversation. Could see of Thieves over both of those games. Zel then Got a War, Yeah, I had maybe put it over Got a War definitely that God a War looks promising. But it's like, I don't, okay, So it sounds like we're saying Horizon zero don is our game of the show if we've got in this highly efficient half of this room. Seems pretty confident about that. I think it looks pretty cool to think it probably my number three. I played it for ten fifteen minutes, like it. It's awesome, okay, And it's a full game like they had the game they're running and it's almost done and or maybe not almost done. It's got like a year left. But okay, I won't argue Horizon at number one. It makes a good case about it. Yeah, I hope it's I hope it's filled out enough. I think it right? Absolutely? Is? He think? So? It's not like a far cry primal situation. Uh, I mean they're They're absolutely runs the risk of having half a dozen activities stretched over and over the world. If the side content is repetitive and dumb, then I will say that, Like you know, I hate to keep wheeling out the word emergent for games like this, But there were enough different types of the mechanical wildlife interacting with each other, even in the little thing that I played, And you've got enough different options, and even the way you can hack them and turn them to your side and stuff. It seemed like just the core combat is going to be really fun and varied in that game. Okay, so what about Horizon at number one Zelda at two? I think that that works for me. I think right, that makes a lot of sense. I think that makes a lot of sense. Brad's making a weird face. I'm not I'm not gonna fight about it. Yeah, I don't know. Let the science happen. The only other thing I'm worried about with Zelda, and maybe you guys got a sense for this from streams, is there all these new systems in there, and I don't know how many of those have been included because they enhance the game or belong there as opposed to just Hey, that's the thing. We took a lot of stuff, totally a lot of different games. Yeah you see that stuff and go oh they they look at other open world games. They looked at this like they has a very discerning eye. When I hope that, yeah, I absolutely hope. So this is this is them going in such a different direction that I could see them losing that eye. I think there's exactly what I'm There is a potential for this thing to go fucking way sideways. But I think if we just look at what they showed and like, do I want to see more of it? Like absolutely, yeah, I just don't want to play it on a WU Yeah yeah, after them there, maybe agree with you? Yep, three got a War or titan Fall. Like I'm trying to think of ones that would potentially be in that conversation. But I would kind of pus see it. I really like too. I could see see if Thieves and then God of War or see if these and then titan Fall and then they remember when that ship, that pirate ship ran on top of our pirate ship, yeah suncus, all right, okay? Or when I fell off the ship and you guys all had to drop the anchor to pick me up again. The ship, the ship that we were fighting just straight up like sailed on top of us, and we really do and like and I don't I hope that doesn't work against my case here, but like the idea of that game being like Pirate Destiny but like doing it right right? Yeah, no, I that's so cool first person. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I That's the thing is I feel like what they were showing it was just the ship stuff, you know, looked exciting, but this little thing I found myself definitely like wanting more of the thing. But okay, so let's put that at number three. You gotta get Out of War in here now, right. Personally, I'd go, I think it's it's got a war titan Fall, I would probably, I would probably put titan Fall here. But God of War is also fucking real cool looking, and also the shock of me being able to say that about God of War games here as well. Yeah, Like, it wasn't surprising that titan Fall two looks awesome. I think we all expected that to be great. But you guys are not big Gout of War guys, and I'm the opposite of a God of War guy. Into this I am a fun God of War guy in fact, but I'll blow it away by the first game, and it's nice to see it. Apparently the developers are fun Out of War guys as well. Yeah, he got Barlog coming back. Yeah, he made the best one. He's where to go from there. He talked for a very long time and seems to have thought very hard about how to make a new got A four game cool like he seems to have when we play that game in twenty nineteen, but it'll be very exciting in terms of the three impact and the three surprise. Oh yeah, yeah, I think gott a War takes this. Yeah, but what we expected that I didn't even even take into account the whole release date thing. I mean, that's you look at that Sony press conference and look at the number of games that you'll be playing this year that are on that list. It's kind of none of them. It's not many. No, no, okay, I think that game maybe a ways off, but even even stuff like Horizon and or E seven or next year. Yeah, okay, so that's our top five. We've got Dishonored, Teching Solver, Death Stranding, and Strafe Death Standing. Yeah, yeah, I would say yeah, he three impact surprise backer, like yes, like talking just a bun to fucking garbage, throw your screen and look at this fucking look at this fake horse shit. This is my favorite fake horse shit of the week. Yeah, yeah, no, totally, that's yep. I'm all for it. I'm for it. If we're if you're gonna lean into fucking E three and try to fucking call out, at some point you have to say, like, whatever, this is all garbage anyway, none of this is real or all of it's real. Who can say scientifically designed to maximize hype exactly? Yes, okay, what he's doing in that context. Sure, and then when it comes out and it's like a fucking match three pubble game. Actually, the hot twist is that it's gonna be a Norman Rita's pachinka. Yes, okay, all right, Uh, I would probably put Dishonored two behind that. Actually, I would go with the order we have here, Dishonored two Tech and seven Absolver Strafe Sun Good. Yeah sure, yeah, science fucking science man. All right. So here's our top ten, counting from ten to one, Strafe of Solve Tech and seven Dishonored two Death Stranding Titan Fall two, God of War, Sea of Thieves, The Legend of Zelda, Breath of the Wild, and Horizon zero down. That's a good list, yes, okay, yeah, that's a list of games that we're ad three that fucking I would love to play more of them, probably play all those some days. We're putting the stamp on it. That's final. Yeah, there's there's a there's the Giant bodcast Games of E three right, Yes, that that splinter cell out in New York wants to come up with a competing list than they're free to do, so you can put their heads together. Well they still can, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, that's the thing. Man. E three was weird, like you would every everywhere you turned your head. There were signs that E three might not be the best show for video games anymore, or or or that it just didn't seem that relevant. But like also software, like good looking software was all over the place. They showed Persona five gameplay here for the first time. You know, there's just little bits and pieces of the show that you're just like, the E three is probably gonna go away, huh or or within like three years, it's going to be something so different like they'll get the public thing right or something like that, but then what it's just packs right exactly? Then it's just another packs at that point. And it do developers want that? Do they? Do they have big press conferences around another packs? Uh? Probably not? But I think I think that stuff will have to change no matter what people will spread out. Sony already has its own show with PSX. They could just as easily do something similar mid year if E three wasn't really around, that would give them their E three style press conference room. And Torito's built their whole city, right, there's Torito City, you know. I think Microsoft will have to respond with some kind of event like thing at some point. Do you think they're in a place to do that. It's like the just the install base being what it is like to they Is there enough excitement around the Xbox brand to do that? I think, even even if it's not a public thing, even if it's a more press folkt thing, like if they brought back like you know, Exo six X seventeen, you know, if they brought bring back games stock, I think there's room for a Microsoft only event out there. I think Nintendo is obviously you know, played many of its cards in the direction of fuck E three or or hey are there, but the simultaneously, we're gonna build the biggest, most but we're gonna keep We're gonna hedge our bets and keep our booth just in case. But at the same time, like you know, they've got their own news to announce between here that will happen before there is another E three, and whether they do it in Japan or whether they do it at Games Calm, or they just have their own thing, like we'll see. But if they're really going to hit this March date for the NX and Launcheszelda simultaneously across both platforms in March, you know, they don't have a lot of time left to really get into the house and wise of what they're making and how much it's gonna cost and what parts it will come with and what parts you will have to buy separately. And the Space World, yeah wait till Space World. They should bring back fucking yeah, they should fucking bring back space We're not joking. Have a Space world. Have a Space World, and to do it like the week before TGS or something, Uh, give people reason to go to Japan for an extra week yeah, well we're already here. We might as well just stay until TGS story. Yeah, conduct some interviews. Conduct interviews, I mean buy old video games and big beers and drink big beers. Uh yeah, yeah, man, big beer. So yeah, that's that's the thing is there's there was big stuff at E three, but everyone I ran into walking around the show floor, especially when I was on the show floor, like the I had a lot of people just go like, man, what is going on? This show was super crazy? Naught America is going to buy activisions booth right, yeah, you know, yeah, but whatever that it kind of doesn't matter. Like I I like E three because it's fun to just be able to see everyone all at once and all the other stuff. But you know, if it's not serving the purposes of the industry at large, then I like a big central video game celebration. Yeah, I refer to E three is video game Christmas, which I kind of like, Yeah, I guess I like the idea of that, but also like, at the same time, it's still a set of press conferences in a trade show, So at some point maybe that's the decision that has to be made. Like it's become because of the way people have covered it over the years. You know, we did it to ourselves by trying to live stream the press conferences ten years ago, fifteen years ago, ever, whatever. It was like then it turned into well, let's put these on Spike TV. And then it became like why are these press conferences so full of charts? Like, okay, well we're gonna be on TV. We need to sizzle more. And now we're at a point where Sony doesn't even bother speaking at their conference. It's like, here you go, here's an FTP log in with trailers on it. But we'll play them all right here too. Uh you know, I think that's probably too far in the other direction. But just mail us everyone simultaneously beta tapes of all the trailers. Yep. I was yes, And then we watched those tapes. Yep. They came out to do a crash bandicoot, not announcement, so give them a little credit. Yeah, I'll do those remasters. Those are probably fine, you know, but that's if whatever, if you care at all about a new Crash bandicoot, well, if you care about a new Crash bandicoot, good luck, because that's unless the remaster suddenly sells like a zillion copies. I doubt anyone'll ever make one. But I care more about ukulele than I would like a new Crash announcement. I gonna play the remaster. I'm gonna hold out for ukulele nuts and bolts. Okay, it's a good goal. Yeah, that's a good goal. I don't really base ukulele game whatever. All right, we've got our ten games. There were some games and we enjoyed them, and there you have it. All right, y'all, let's read a few emails emails. Yes, good, Yeah, you have come to the right podcast podcast at giant ball dot com. I'm all about communication. Oh yeah, yeah, you'd like to hear from the people. It's very port Yeah, electronic communicates. I've got a few for you here on my Google voice number. All right, let's just communicate. Let's wrap. I could just play voicemails that I get to that number. If you think I'm quite ready for that yet. Okay, if you pre screened these, no, but I can see Google's like shitty transcripts of like what oh wow, you should just read a few of those or someone from the eight one eight. This is dangerous? What the fuck is this phone number for to give Google some credit. That's exactly what their machine translation says. It said, so all right, working as intended. Congratulations Google, you've done it. Good stuff. Here's an email from Phil thanks for the fantastic E three coverage. One thing I noticed is several times during the big keynotes, you all said, Man, this reveal would have been so much cooler if it hadn't leaked in the last hour or day week. Do you all try to insulate yourselves from such rumors and they run up to E three? If not, how come? I mean, I mean it's we're supposed to cover a job that discover that stuff in some cases, and also it's impossible, but yes, a larger point, the larger point doesn't matter who you are. If you care about games and like read about games on the internet and stuff leaks, you were going to run into it. So you're totally it's a fool's errand to try to avoid that, like, I'm more wished that just like when things did leak, the reaction was a little more prepared or you know, instead of like, oh, we're gonna hold off to the press conference and do it and then and then insert a line in there that says like, well maybe you heard about it, like just you know, move past that and just get into as soon as it leaks, you've got your full package ready, yeah, or you know, which is hard depending on when it leaks, obviously, but you know, put your stuff out. Yeah, it happens. It's the leakiest E three I have ever seen by a country mile. Like ho, it just gets worse and worse, right, yeah, like how was anybody but whatever? Like Apple can't get to keep the new iPhone secret at this point, you know, like things are too connected these days. Yeah, too many people put their hands on things that don't care enough about maintaining secrecy. But I'm getting that, what is it? What you're going to be getting that? What is it? It doesn't have? That's a grade. You have summed up so many things about our society, Dan record, I think all of the above. How do you feel about buying a lightning a doctor for your headphones? I think that I think they've I think that's actually not the case. It sounds like that keeps going back the more recent case. Stuff that's leaked did have a headphone jack on? Really? Okay? Last I saw that was still missing. What is the big news that seems real? That was well, that had been the thing forever. Is that like, because if you notice, the phone is now roughly the thickness of a headphone jack. Yeah. Yeah, they were talking about making it even thinner by taking that out. Yeah, the presence of a headphone jack was the thing preventing that from going any thinner. So to get it thinner, they would just have a lightning cable and you would plug that in and then there would be a head that you would either buy lightning headphones, which I'm sure they would love to sell, or reasonable prices of course. Yeah, hephones, beats by Doctor Dre Yeah, I just got some bluetooth heaphones they work, oh yes, or Bluetooth phones of course. Yeah. I'm not going back to the plugging and stuff in. I want a better battery life. Yeah, that's also That was another argument, is that taking that jack out gives them more space for battery. Right. Of course, if you're going thinner, that's less battery. But I could also see at this point with the way the Google day Dream stuff is going, like I kind of want a mobile VR thing and I'm not you know, like I could get a gear VR, or I could wait and see what Google stuff is, which looks cool. It's just their their platform. There will be phones that the devices that will be kind of Daydream certified, and it is just a minimum spence for VR, and it's running VR on Android N basically, and they announced a bunch of games alongside it too. VR is part of that potentially. I guess they making their own oculous storefront. So it's sort of a different thing. It's a different headset. It's yeah, so there will be a different headset for this stuff. But I don't I don't know how that stuff will work together. No one. No one depends on which day you ask Oculus if they're shutting people out or letting people in, or who you ask, and vice versa is probably also true. I keep thinking about getting away from Apple and getting an Android phone because I do five things on a phone, you know, and it's like fucking post dumb shit to Instagram, post dumb shits, tumbler stuff you could do with any fucking shone. So I'm more open to the idea like VR might be a thing that makes me think about moving, or I might just go aft fucking and get another iPhone because I'm due and we still need to unify our phone plans at home, and we're gonna get new phones as a part of that. I think so might just be easiest just to get a get another iPhone. I will say that if I end up getting another phone, another iPhone, I'm going to get the bigger one. Really know, I will get the plus man after seeing because Alex has the bigger one, and having seen a couple of these bigger ones, and thinking about how I use my phone, which is to say, not ever like a phone, why not get the bigger screen still has to be in your pocket though, I got big pockets, man. Okay, you know, if this leads to gene shorts coming back in a big way, baggy shorts with big pockets, if big phones helps us get there, I want to help with that, Okay. I want to be a part of the solution that gets us back to me being able to fit a forty ounce of malt liquor in the pocket of my shorts. How many pairs of Jinkos have you owned? Zero? Really? Okay? I'm not a monster, Okay, but I hear big pants. I think Jinko's, and that's and that's something we all have to kind of fight against. I think if we want to kind of solve these problems and you know, kind of educate people like yourself. Think about these Jinko jeans those aren't they were very popular, insane or otherwise. It was the dicky kids in junior high that were this, huh like kids that will wear dickies also or just dickies. Dickies are They had a lot of wallet chain sound jinkos. Oh yeah, I'm junior eye. Dickys are kind of it's the word I'm looking for. Khaki's pretty. I guess I think dungarees kind of. Yeah, I guess yeah. Work pants, Yeah, work pants. I might have a loop on there. Stammer your wallet chain either way. Josh writes in from Niles, Michigan. What was one game that you had even the slimmest hope of seeing at this year's E three but was absent from the proceedings? For me, it would be left for Dead three. I had absolutely no reason to be expect an announcement. I love both games, and every year I get my hopes up just a little bit. Valve doesn't even go to Ether, Yeah, don't never expect a Valve game at E three. That's that's not that's your You are wasting your wishes. There's that one where Gabe showed up at what sony years ago, like they have they have gradually decreased their press turned on an old PC for the first time in years, and it still had a version of Steam installed that had the hey are you signing in from a PS three, I'll link your account. It still had that button on. God weird, I would say, probably a new Shadow of Mortar, which, right, yeah, it was going to be there. Yeah, yeah, that there was some voice actor stuff and some art stuff, like you know, I think that studio is still on accounted for, so I bet they are, doesn't mean still working on that. Yeah, Like Monolith was like kind of I don't know, how can I put it out? This sounds bad, but like in the client kind of or like they just hadn't put any out anything like Super Groundbreaking right long time. Yeah, and then that game came out and it was like holy shit, like they've still got it. But Red Dead Yeah with rock Star, I mean that would have had to have been a finished the party press conference thing. I wasn't really expecting it to be there. Yeah, but they said, like the slimmest hope. Yeah, yes, there there there is a path for that to show on a stage. But but yeah, yeah, I could see that. That's all that comes to mind for me. Yeah, I'm trying to think of any other you know, rival schools. No, I don't know. I mean, there are plenty of games if you just want to get off into fantasy sequel lands for Rezillion Games, Syndicate two, Clay Fighter Kickstarter launching it from the stage. We're proud to be working with the indebended developers of Clay Fighter. Yeah, Nathan write, So why was the Xbox One so big to begin with? Only three years since launch and they made one forty percent smaller? The three sixty s came out five years after the original and the E eight years, but those were not nearly forty percent smaller. The TV stuff, No, that's all still in though, it's all still in there, I think. I mean, I so I had the power brick. Yeah, the power brick is even in there and still that much smaller. I this was my hunch, and then so I took that like platform meeting with them at the end of the show, which is just hey, here's what's going on with the box and software and stuff, and Alert Panello was running that thing. He's like one of their head product guys, and he straight up said yeah, like yeah, we were conservative with this first model, like, well, they didn't want another red Yeah. I think. I think absolutely. The subtext is we'd it's given a lot of space. We took a billion dollars loss on a faulty console that we rushed to market. We were not going to take that chance again. Increasing conservative in their power specs and a lot of stuff across the Xbox One. It's like some of that is smart, but some of it is, you know, causing problems for them. Now it's both led to the Scorpio stuff in a way. Yeah sure. I mean the story of how they got to where that box is is kind of some like bad luck on their part. Yeah. Yeah, from what I understand, I pre ordered the S but apparently that's not coming out until December unless you get the two terabyte one. Yeah right, yeah, yeah, which you would want a big hard drive. I got the external of the two terabyte and that's what everything's on. So like I'm looking forward to just plug and get into my s and they're there, so you want So you're gonna wait till December and get one yes, and then you'll just be one full of full year away from a better Xbox coming out. You're gonna give it over and a half. Yeah, yeah, of course I don't. I don't understand. I feel like it want smaller. I feel like with the decisions you're making that the idea that the launch the launch price being four hundred dollars being the thing that finally trips you up is insane. Wait, the launch price or the Taugust price spend, it's an extra two hundred bucks one hundred, doesn't it? No, it's h is if there's the five hundred extra three hundred bucks. Yeah, the whole thing, the whole expend. So I looked on eBay and Xbox ones, you're going for like two hundred and fifty bucks. So if I can upgrade for fifty bucks, well you know that, you know the bottom is going to drop out of those prices as like as soon as those launch you and it's hit by the time you get to December. Trying to sell that thing will be a much different story than trying to sell it now because I was going to try to sell it right away after you three be thinking, I'm like, oh, August, I can go a month and a half that Xbox One. I don't play it anyway. And then when I heard December, well no, I need to hang on to it. See, like I agree as someone who has fucking been down this road. I I'm nodding my head every single thing you're saying about, yeah, I don't pay anyway, I'll do this. And then but the idea that then this, like this little bit of money, this tiny bit of money that's a good point is the thing that's tripping you up that part where I feel like it all falls apart, because like you've already committed to this fucking path of madness. The idea that this would be the thing that stops you seems preposterous. Spending five hundred dollars on something I'm not gonna play, is it? Crazy? Is also crazy less crazy if you are determined to sell your old Xbox One, which I would never do because like, why sell anything ever? Keep everything total ups now? I don't want anything, keep everything ever forever. Uh Yeah, So at that point, like you know, it makes even more sense to do it in August, because you will get more for that Xbox One than you probably will come December. Sell it in August. Will it offset that cost? I don't know, but you know that the bottoms Yeah, like you said, the bottom top out of the recently this says the two terabyte is three ninety nine, the one coming in August. Yeah, three ninety nine. Yeah, that's what I thought I had read, and that's what that's what this says. Are you saying it was five? Keep teaching? Is there? There are there are three. There are three skews, but the but the best one is four hundred. And the difference is that this the two terabyte I think is only available in launch quantity. They're not making the going forward. It'll be the other ones that they're putting out in December three forty nine for the one terabyte. So it's just one hundred dollars to ninety nine. Yeah, I'm gonna change my pre order. Okay if you can. Gladly. You want to buy an Xbox One, Nope? Anybody want to buy a next Nex one? Okay? I are I have too many of them already. Some creepy guy from Craig's list. Uh. I only bring this up because I like a surprising number of people wrote in asking me to ask. But I asked them in that meeting if this thing is fourteen nanimator nanometer, and they would not say it's straight up got it. We're not talking about that right now, which seemed like a weird response. I'm talking about the nanometers right now. I guess we'll tell you all about the Tara flops. If you want to get into numbers, we'll talk about those ones. That's weird. Uh yeah, I picked that thing up and handle it. It's a brick. The thing is dense over it feels heavy and thick, like it feels like you could bring it totally, that makes sense. This thing does not feel like that. It feels like it's packed full of shit. Cool. It's a it's a neat looking console. It's it's really it's one of the nicer looking consoles I've seen in years. They totally did the thing when I walked in there of like they had an old model Xbox One sitting on the table. Yeah, and they're like, oh no, yeah, it's just a shell. Here's the new one. So do we think that Neo is coming out this year. Still that I think that to be the word going around. Still highly possible, okay, but maybe not guarantee. There were some reports about that over the weekend, saying that yes, buying two consoles and two Wrestlemaning travel pick maybe the same month or two, and then getting ready for a new Nintendo platform. Oh yeah, it'll be following you and I'll buy a four KTV, So sure, why not wire you? I mean, be silly to buy the console and not get the TV. Apparently, yeah, yeah, apparently that's if you're not getting a four K TV, you're wasting your time. But at that point, new models of TV will be like three months away. Yeah, like you're you're better off waiting for Q one to buy a TV. I'll give announced in January. I'll wait on the TV. I'll get everything else. You're out of your mind. When the NX comes out, you're not gonna need It's true, games will be right there in your mind. Uh, let's see, Rodrigo writes in from Brazil. We all saw the strange trailer for Death Stranding at E three of the new Hideo Kajima game, where he apparently will have a lot of creative freedom. My question is, would you dare to be in the same position as Norman Ritas, would you allow Kajima to create a three model of your naked body and do whatever he wants with it? Kind of strange things are facing from this game. I would love for him to do that. Yes, mmm, likewise car Blanche, Yeah, yeah, let's do whatever he wants. Yeah, yeah, I don't think it. Wow, I degree of willingness use my fake body as thou wilt. I don't know that. I fucking I don't perform nightmares upon me. It's not the real me. I'm still over here. I don't trust him. Read it from your notebook. Fucking yeah, sure, why not? I like most of the games he's made quite a bit. I don't entirely trust him. No, that, and you're right, people here be out just a little bit. Yeah, I want him to go all the way with my hellish, polygonal body. Do you think that was actually Norman Rees's real physique? I have no, don't, I don't. I don't even I don't even really know who Norman. So he's on the Walking Dead he is, and that's down. He's come up so much over the last years. So I'm a but that's some fucking dude. I've never heard of him before. Oh is it really? It's awesome? Yeah, two lame things. I've never seen that movie. It was awesome when you were a teenager. Yeah, I don't trust anyone who's not a tea. It's like fight club at that thing of like at a certain point in your life, it's okay for you to go, Yeah, that's fucking badass, and then if you don't grow out of that, you're you have a problem. I've never heard of him before. Pt even how I didn't even know about him from Walking Dead Okay. Kyle from Ohio a reason Clash Royal blog post explained that they enjoy things that quote evoke strong emotion and so they will not add an option to mute emots or tone down strong cards. To me, the stance reeks of twitch chat is going to be twitch chat and everything else that's poisoning the gaming community. It seems to encourage people to be awful to each other and to dump more money into trying to get lucky and get an overpowered legendary to be competitive. I could handle awful people being trash on their own, but an endorsement from developers is the straw that made me quit this exploitative piece of garbage. What are your thoughts on the stance they have? Take just it's just emojis, right, it's not actual text. No, it's just it's there's four emojis. It's the king from class phrase like tears or like or thumbs up, red past, so it'll be it'll basically be their ha or like this, like like tears streaming down the face. So there aren't there are text emotes though, you're you're right, there's a well there's well playing good game which can be abused. But yeah, so so it oops thanks, uh and isn't there another one? There's six oops and thanks can be used in some super shitty ways. Yeah, totally all those kids along with those faces, but yeah, none of them are being used in you know, the abusive way. Like you know, I think the analogy to twitch chat is way off. Basically maybe maybe yeah, there's not switch chat is people being explicitly shitty. This is just people you using the tools in shitty way. I don't know that I would call that abusive. It's it's but it's close. People should have the option, I think because I have never like I've played a lot of multiplayer games online, and I never ever get mad if I die in a call of duty, even if it's in a bullshit way or whatever. It's like, god damn it, all right, I never actually get mad when I lose, or I can tell I'm going to lose the thing in Clash Royale, I turn my phone over and put the screen down because I know the guy's like, just it makes me fury. People will just like spam the crime King or like or like if they'll defeat your push and take a tower really early on, they'll just say thanks or oos over over and shit like that. Like it is infinitely I get why that's infuriating. The bigger thing is just like this excuse that they put out is right odd bullshit that is I mean like emotions. Yeah, No, they want you to fucking get on tilt and buy cards. They want you to fucking go nuts and spend money. That's all they fucking want. That's all they've ever wanted. It was just it was just offensively disingenuous for them to come out. We feel like it's a game of highs and lows. Or whatever, like, yeah, that's a that's your game is a perpetual low because this makes makes the experience really shitty. I'm quickly turning a corner. Three was kind of a good purging sort of time period for me where I didn't I didn't get to play it much, so I suddenly kind of don't care it sucks. Yeah, I know, I know multiple people who straight up the lead of the game. After that block post came out, I was just like, okay, all right, this is yeah, like that's that's them showing kind of their vision for the game, and that vision for the game is fucking stack a grip yep, So this is the this is the kind of respect you have for your player based then okay, malt, I thought of a an E three thing that I didn't see that I wanted to see poke them on go yeah yeah, yeah, I guess I don't know that that was there. Maybe they had it on some but I mean that was the same I guess for an animal crossing and the fire and all the mobile stuff that you have going on that uh. I mean I didn't watch that held in Tendos stream, so maybe I don't think that stuff showed up at all. They had secret rooms. That's where they're was I am, I am super just like stumble into a door and they were congratulations, you found it. They made me go up some stairs. Yeah, should be a door northwest southwest yep. And then Mario there, Yes, Kanye was there. Okay uh. Steve writes in about the n X. When we first heard about the NX, it was said that it would have quote industry leading chips. Now that Project Scorpio and Neo are confirmed and are going to be significant booths over their early generation brothers, do you think this still holds true. It would be sad to see another underpowered Nintendo console release and get ignored again. That's not the reason why it gets ignored like this. I also have not heard much on the architecture of the NX. Do you think it will fall in line with the others with X eighty six. When you see the graphics, you will say, wow, that's all that matters. Yeah, GameCube. Please understand, I don't remember. Industry leading chips doesn't necessarily mean like top performing chips. It doesn't say anything at all about its performance. It merely says like, you know, hey, we're we're gonna be up around there with this stuff. Yeah, you know, it could say something about performance in the context of like the form factor they're putting it in, right, it's like, oh, other devices of this class, right exactly, it's competitive. They're competitive there with those sorts of devices, not necessarily with other consoles on the market, right, Yes, not necessarily with other consoles on the market today. So it means nothing kind of Yeah. I think what it means is that if you look at the last ten fifteen years of Nintendo hardware and then expect this thing to be some PS four killer, you're going to be very disappointed. Yeah. Yeah, if you're if you're approaching a Nintendo platform announcement and your primary hope is, man, I hope it's more powerful than the other guys, Like you're not you're not paying attention to what Nintendo does, yeah, or what motivates them, because that's that doesn't Actually, that doesn't really solve very many problems for them. That's not enough. That would not be enough to get third parties to make a switch just on power alone. They have to grow install based, make third parties want to make money on their platform. And last time they even kind of tried to compete was maybe the GameCube, yeah, because that was kind that was in It was like above a PS two below below an Xbox, and the way was pretty clearly not competitive. Yeah yeah, I mean the we was when they were like, well, we've got another way to do this and no one likes h yeah right, just like they're out there going like, no, no one likes VR. I mean, I would love to see online gaming, right, They've been doing this for a while. They're good at this. Yeah, you know, the idea of Nintendo games at the quality they're used to making games at running on amazing hardware is like kind of intoxicating, but like it's not. Yeah, you know, that's when realistic. That's you know, the like all of Nintendo's studios, uh, you know, making games on more powerful hardware than they've been working on, but not necessarily like some World Digger type stuff. That's that was Yeah, totally that was enough for me. It's like, okay, let's see Mario with you know, better hardware than they've ever had before. Its great, Yeah, I fucking really you'd see that thing at this point really needs to know exactly what that thing is. But I guess we've got a few months to go, Mike k in Portland. In recent weeks, you've talked on the show about Microsoft's efforts to merge the Xbox One and Windows ten platform, and also their efforts to resurrect Xbox three sixty games on the Xbox One via backwards compatibility. The other day, it finally occurred to me that if both these things continue, I might one day be able to open the Windows ten store and download all of my old three sixty games on my PC. Right, maybe, do you guys think it's remotely likely that Microsoft would ever put the dev time into making this beautiful dream a reality? How many last gent digital games do you all still have stranded on your old accounts? Hundreds at six to eight hundred, I would say, just on your three sixty Yeah, wow, that's a lot of games, like every single Xbox, like Arcade game Base, Its got a lot. But I don't know what the number is, but yeah, I would assume it would up around there somewhere. I don't know. I actually have no idea. Yeah, I would love it was it was something that, like just the conversation didn't necessarily go there. But when we had Phil, Phil Spencer on the show. Like, one of the things I was thinking of ahead of time was like, I wonder if they'll do backwards compatibility for three sixty onto the PC as they start to move towards this unification stuff. And then also the idea of like original Xbox games, Yeah, which would be fun to see resurrected and made playable again. I have to assume that there's no technical barrier there. Oh yeah, I mean works on an Xbox One. I think right if they if they figured it out there, they would be able to theoretically do the work and make it happen. I guess you'd run into a situation where the disks might not work because the formatting on the discs is such that they wouldn't necessarily read in the standard DVD arcade game right, But downloadable s crash theoretically work if you could authenticate it on your console. Yeah. Maybe, although at that point that's so many layers of distraction. I feel like it's like, Okay, well you need to have an Xbox One and put the disk in there once and then blah blah blah. But yeah, it would be awesome, Like there's I don't think anybody would disagree. That would be a great thing to have. Could they monetize it somehow? Yeah, it's it's it gives them a new way to sell those games. I mean, right now, you can buy a copy of Black Ops one for the three sixty for thirty bucks, and they're selling it on the Xbox Store, you know, and that's I don't think that's a great deal, but you can. You can do that, so yeah, you know, it gives them a path to sell more digital copies of three sixty games that they didn't have before. So I think that that would be I don't know if it'd be huge business, but I think it'd be cool if they did it. Yeah. I wonder if they'd have to go out and do that business work again. To get those games on another platform, you know, they had to go to the license holders or the rights holders. Yeah, I wonder all those three games to go on the Xbox One, and I'm sure that there's business involved in original Xbox stuff if they ever chose to go down that weird road. Yeah, uh, that would be awesome though. I would love to see that. Joseph as a question, I'm moving from Arizona to Washington, and I just packed up my Xbox One. Do I pack my connect or leave it here at my mom's house? Yeah? Pack it man. Yeah, you're moving to a new town. You're gonna want to make friends. What better way than the tan central spotlight? Sure? Leave it? Well, you were talking about selling yourself and I didn't bring it to a new town and sell it. Man? What getting anything that's not totally necessary that I use on a regular basis? For me, there's just as gonna be ready to move. He's he's the heat around the corner. I guess, so the heat. If he's fucking living the life, he's got a he has to hit the door and fucking skip town, skip town at a moment's notice. She say, But when you walk in your apartments, he has completely spartan damn near empty. It's like, oh, okay, all right, you're ready to fucking move. You're leading a double if not triple life. I'm expanding my Blue Right collection just to throw people off, because you can always walk away from a fucking blue ray collect collection. Especially now that that USB adapter is coming out. I feel like there's too much chance that somebody might think of something super cool to do with that thing on a pitch by it again, all right if you want. Didn't they drop the price on that thing or they said they're going to I don't know. Maybe that was in that meeting I took. I'd swear I saw they were dropping the standalone price on the connect. Yeah, I take it with you. I mean, if they want people to use Cortana on an Xbox One and build that ecosystem, they need to sell people microphone, sure for an effective price, And the price of the Connect as it is right now is still too high. Yes, so sure, maybe they got a warehouse full of them and they just want to fucking move. Probably. James from Toronto writes in I kind of hate to read this when Jason's not here to offer his input. Put anyway, you should check out Tongue of the Fat Man. This is not ranking of fighters. Yeah, sure, yep. The game may not be that great, No, man, it had the best name of any fighting game I have ever heard of. It's up there. I may even say the best name altogether. If you saw a restaurant called Tongue of the Fat Man, could you resist? Yeah? I think I probably could. I don't generally speaking, don't eat a lot of tongue, so beef tongues something to be said. I think they came out as Slaughter Sport on other platforms for yeah what I remember that name, but absolutely nothing else about it other than he's right that game. That name is amazing. I'll eat any part of an animal outside of eyes or a tongue. I mean, you don't count teeth. You're obviously not gonna eat teeth organs. Teeth is for soup. I don't eat organs, testicles. I don't want to eat testicles. So you'll eat any part of an animal except for like forty percent of the any part of the like scanner, meaty parts, not in either like goopy weird parts. All right, fair enough? Uh. That came and came out in various formats, Uh as either Mandou's Fight Palace okay, yeah, fat Man slaughter Sport, and Hung of the Fat totally remember reading about Mando's Fight Palace. It's another good name. Ship which platform was a Tongue of the Fat Man on? Sorry, I believe that was on the PC where it was Tongue of the Fat Man, and then it was Mandou's Fight Palace on the Commodore sixty four. It was fat Man in Japan at slaughter Sport on the Genesis. All right, Uh, you guts should play that next time you rank. I mean, we will rank every fighting game evirtually, so I'm sure you expect to see it. That is fair. Uh, let's see a couple more emails here before we go. Heather rights in as a Californian who lives just off the one on one between LA and San Francisco. I have to admit I was surprised to hear that you all take I five to E three every year. Since I live near the central coast, I just take the one on one everywhere. So my question is, out of curiosity, why do you take the five faster? Is it? Yeah? Okay, and it's just straight yeah? Yeah? Like how much take a nap? How much extra time would it take? Depends because it was one of one stuff like there's one and one this like Coastal Highway, right is it? I think the one there was a game spot car that took. Yeah, Like I've heard about taking that that Coastal one trip since I've lived out here. But is that part of that route or is that do they know? Well, part of it might be I don't know. It's been a long time since I've done that, because I always heard that was like a twelve hour drive or something crazy. Yes, that is because it's windy, it's you know, it's supped up, it's cliffs, it's scary, it's foggy, it's you're gonna die. So I'm not gonna take that one. Sure, I mean they'll tacos are on it. I don't. I don't really, That's the thing is, I don't know. I know there's an Anderson split pe On that didn't put the email in, but somebody wrote in who lives like right by that split Pea place? Yeah? Yeah, I would have to pull the email. There are no houses near there. Do they live like near close enough? It's the guy that about the sun Tan. I think they did not identify themselves as but yeah, split Pea then June, let's do one more email get out of here. It's from Michael. I forgot is it never eat pizza at the Chinese buffet or never eat the Chinese food at a pizza buffet. I think you just messed up. Just go for man, is gonna happen there? Oh my god, CEC's pizza they're amazing. SEC's pizza, little cinnamon things you can get with the ice on it. CEC's is fantastic, going like a student night. It's two ninety nine. I don't know if you need a student. I would not use any of the words you just used to describe ccs. CC's is amazing, Manfredo Sauce, it's oh my god. The Pizza Hut when I was in high school had a lunch buffet and they would have a dessert pizza just as part of the lineup, and it was just it was just a bunch of pizzas out and you just grab slices and just ate them, and then yeah, there would be the dessert pizza. There was just like covered in cinnamon, yeah, and frosting and stuff. And you'd have one of those and go, no, you have forty of those. And CC's also has pasta on the buffet, so you can get a bunch of penny pasta with Alfredo's saus and everything and a billion different types of pizza. It's the best. Wow. I don't know if there's a CC's pizza around here. There aren't. There are not, though you only see it on ads for Kansas City baseball games. You see I see a lot of adsc's pizza. Man, that sounds great, it's so good. Pizza, pizza, pizza buffets. Pretty solid, solid concept. But yeah, once you start mixing cuisines at buffet, the man, I started start getting nervous. I want the Chinese buffet that has French fries. I mean French fries usually. I mean anybody, anybody can open up a bag and throw some frozen fries and a fryer or that's yeah, that's not concerning. They have KFC buffets in Minnesota, and so you can here's one of those, one of those in the Yeah, there's one of those in southern California or central California, like Mercid or something like when when me and Alex were in a band, we played there and next door to the place we were playing was a KFC and we didn't know that they did this. We walked in going like, well, we got time to kill before the show, let's get somebody eat and saw the buffet when like fucking fuck, what the fuck? Man, holy shit, and just you know, the show was bad because we had eaten so much goddamn mashed potatoes and macaroni. The macaroni, it was just this gets honey. Yeah, just tear it. Just fucking outstanding. Yeah. I have a very high tolerance for pizza. It is very difficult for me to say that's a bad pizza. I'm with you. Usually when I say that's a bad pizza, it's because they tried to make it fancy. Oh. I love the fancy stuff. I don't. I like it, but when it starts to get fancy, that's when I want it done right. And there's a lot of pizza that aspires to be more than chain pizza that just fucking shits it up. I've had two bad pieces of pizza in my life. I don't like the fancy stuff. One of them is the place out where I live near there. If there's a pizza place, that is just complete shit. I've also got the Buffalo Wings. It's complete shit, and I have a very low bar for restaurants. The other one was I was walking around a bar district in Kansas City and a guy dressed as a giant piece of pizza had unmarked cardboard boxes and was going around and selling slices of pizza for a dollar a slice. And it was really bad. But he was dressed like pizza, so I figured he'd know something about pizza. He didn't. Well, life lessons learned. Yeah, good Snow, Uh, that was a bad email to take as far after past lunch time as we are. Get out of here and go eat foodzz bomb cast a giant bombs. I had me thinking about the Lee's buffet us late in the day. They don't want you don't want to go to Lee's A three probably they probably don't have anything there. They have actually just taken it all day anything past like one thirty to get anything very It just picked over and lukewarm at this point. Uh yeah, not a lot open for a lunch around three pm around here? What's that? Not a lot of them? Know? Yeah, Like two o'clock is the cut off for like ninety percent of the stuff around here, and then all the stragglers close at three. I have not eaten at all. I had. I know, I had a quest bar that I got at the gas station this morning. That's all s'mores I had never done before. Ten seconds, Yeah, yeah, it's perfect paper. Ten seconds. Well, this gas station keeps them fresh, so they don't stick to They don't stick to the rapper as much as other ones do, so you can really just what the thing that? How can you not eat breakfast? I normally absolutely do, but yeah, I just didn't have to. I'm hungry all the time. Yeah, but look at you. Why, you're in very good shape, so you have differences. I could eat all the time. Jeff, help me with this, because I saw you tweet something I think yesterday and I've been super interested in it. It's it looked like a I don't know if it's a corn dog necessarily, but it was like a chili cheese dogs. That's chili and cheese. That was the That was the truck stop where the Del Taco is. It's not a big chain like I can't easily get that. No, that was at the pilot station attached to the Del Taco. That looked very good. But yeah they have they have breakfast corn dogs there that are like pancakes with sausages, which is a great idea. I've never had it, but it seems like a be a great idea. And yeah, they had some other fucking hell food on their rollers. Lucky for you, Subway has got your back. Twenty four seven right down the street some ways, al right, chicken pick and ranch. I don't know. It's time for you to ask what kind of life you are trying to lead? A good one? Yeah? All right, well let's go make some potentially bad decisions. All right. That'll do it for the podcast this week. I don't know what's going on around here. These guys are back in New York. Yeah, they have the ability currently to record, yeah, and pretuce video game content. We do not. They have a they have a fully constructed and functional studio that thinks operational out there. Yeah, ours will get there slowly. Yes, over the course of the week. Yes. Uh, we'll play by your We'll see what happens. I'm gonna go get my teeth filled, all right? That sounds fun. Yeah, I would most hurt. I haven't had a cavity filled in like twenty five times. I have a museum of dental problems in my mouth. Just yeah, dude, don't you should not ask it. It's a horrifying story. Cavity. Has he ever told me which one I owe? The tongue thing? I wait, I don't think I've heard that. I got pictures of that. I thought the hollowed out teeth part. Oh that too, yeah, like all the shattering teeth. Yeah. Yeah. I have some cavities that they looked at and said like, ah, there's one or two here. You should get done soon or there will become root canals situate. If you're just cavities, you'll get the shot that do the nitrius. I mean, I don't know that they will offer that to me basically right for cavities. Yeah, most places will give you nitrius. I feel like these days, like cavities are like you come in and you might not even need the novocaine you'll want. Oh yeah, yeah, cavities are easy. Okay, all right, Like I said, yeah, it's been I was fucking like twelve or something the last time I had did anything with cavities. So when when they have to install a giant tube down the underside of your tongue because they severed your salvary duct while it's giving you a crown, and then you got to walk around with a tube down the underside of your tongue into your throat for a couple of weeks, it just sounds Thursday. Whatever. I give you that picture if you want, I definitely haven't heard that before. Let's move, Let's just get out of here. I can say, yep, let's get the hell out of here. We'll be back with a regularly scheduled and somewhat more normal show, same time next week
