00:00:00 Speaker 1: You are listening to the Dan Patrick Show on Fox Sports Radio. 00:00:04 Speaker 2: We did it. We made it to a Friday. 00:00:06 Speaker 3: It's a meat Friday at that time, to play ball Chicago hot dogs, chili dogs, crab dip hot dogs, ballpark nachos, sausage and peppers, peanuts, cracker jacks, and many helmets with ice cream in it. 00:00:26 Speaker 4: Nobody at all? 00:00:28 Speaker 2: Yeah, who is this the greatest day ever? 00:00:31 Speaker 5: Yeah? 00:00:32 Speaker 3: But see, I thought we needed a morale booster. This was actually planned because I thought we were going to be nominated for a Sports SEMMI and then that was Scene's coming over and the other. So I had planned this because I thought we were going to be nominated for a Sports Emmy and then we weren't. And then Dylan goes, should we still do that? I said, yes, yes, let's still. We need it. We need it. It's a great day. Lots of recap from last night. We got games coming up later on tonight. Your phone calls always welcome every day and eight seven to seven to three, DP Show operator Tyler is sitting by. He'll take your phone calls. Stat of the Day brought to you by Panini America, the official trading cards of the Dan Patrick Show. By the way, exciting news as well. We lost our partnership with Treger. I mentioned that last week after ten years, which is an eternity in this business to have a partner for ten years. They were a great partner, but they decided that they were moving in a different direction. We respect that. And as soon as I said that, my sales team had three different companies reach out to be the new grilling partner for meat Friday. And we'll let you know about that. Very excited and oh no, Jomo, yet, no, no, no, I got to make sure that we finalize this. But there was a grilling company and they said, hey, we never thought you guys would be free agents. 00:02:08 Speaker 2: And we're all in. 00:02:10 Speaker 3: And there's two other companies that we're talking to. We'll have a meet Friday, a grilling partner coming up next week. All right, let's see pull question, play of the day, stat of the day, all of that forthcoming the first hour brought to you by the great folks at Zkliner. As the back room guys will tell you, since they do most of their work while they're sitting in my z cliner engineered with RESTful sleep in mind, making it an ideal bet alternative. A healthy life starts with a healthy night's sleep. Visit z cliner dot com slash Dan Patrick today to find. 00:02:45 Speaker 2: Z Cliner at a store near you. 00:02:48 Speaker 3: All right, recapping last night, Purdue over Texas at the buzzer, Iowa Nebraska. What a strange finish that was, Illinois surprising Houston by ten and Arizona looking my Arizona Wildcats dominating Arkansas one oh nine to eighty eight. So we have basketball coming up tonight, and I have some points spreads for entertainment purposes only Duke minus six and a half against Saint John's, Michigan minus eight and a half against Alabama, Iowa State minus three and a half against Tennessee, and Yukon minus one and a half against Michigan State. Now looking ahead to the Elite eight odds, I was curious you got Iowa and Illinois another Big ten matchup. Big ten's having a really nice tournament and really nice year when you factor in Indiana football, and now you've got Purdue advancing. Purdue is getting six and a half against Arizona, Iowa getting six and a half against Illinois. 00:03:50 Speaker 2: Satan, what's the first hour poll question today? 00:03:53 Speaker 6: Got one here from Paul after last night's games, which is worse. Too many players on the court, are not enough players. 00:03:58 Speaker 2: In the court. 00:04:01 Speaker 6: Uh wow, that's a tough one. 00:04:03 Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, Pollie. 00:04:04 Speaker 7: So I went Nebraska. I was making the comeback. I think there's like fifty eight seconds left. I was get ready to inbounds and there's some shuffling of players and then you see a baseball pass and then the announcers say, what happened. 00:04:19 Speaker 2: Here's Fred Hoiberg, the Nebraska head coach. 00:04:22 Speaker 4: Yes, Marvin, I have the sound too of the play by play, O, Katie. 00:04:25 Speaker 2: Yeah, let's let's let's do that. And then we'll have the coach. 00:04:28 Speaker 1: Marcus Lawrence, you put all that Look at this pass? 00:04:31 Speaker 2: Oh my goodness, oh goss. 00:04:38 Speaker 6: Well now it was a major defensive blake down there. 00:04:43 Speaker 8: Well, they just don't guard bul Garris and he's waving for it. 00:04:47 Speaker 2: How about the vision there? But you'ved in jail trying to get back in the play. 00:04:51 Speaker 7: Wait a minute, I think Nebraska only had four defenders on the floor. 00:04:56 Speaker 3: Stan Van Gundy with the catch there. But here's Fred Hoiberg, Nebraska head coach, on having only four players. 00:05:04 Speaker 9: For rink about fifty eight seconds left, they had that deep all the Avarro for the bucket. 00:05:09 Speaker 10: I think there were four players on the court. 00:05:12 Speaker 11: Like you say, what happened the first that one Myronett, you know, put that one on me. It was a miscommunication, and you know, I'm the head coach. Put that one on me. 00:05:19 Speaker 12: There's some confusion online about if that's the rules, you're supposed to have five guys on the court where deeper the officials supposed to hold the ball before the ball was put A good. 00:05:28 Speaker 11: Question, Robin. I've never been in a situation like that. I know they always count to make sure there's not six. I don't know the rule on that with with four, but yeah, I mean again, it was a miscommunication and you know, unfortunately it happened. But that you know, as far as the rule, I've never been a part of anything like that. 00:05:46 Speaker 3: So yeah, and you know, I give coach credit. Whether it was his fault or not, he was going to fall on the sword there. You don't want to blame one of your kids. And you know, it was a great year for Nebraska, you know when you consider that that is a football school and what they did with basketball, and they were a good team from start to finish, and we thought it was going to be a great game. It turned out to be a great game going against Iowa. And it's just tough to end that way because if I said to Nebraska fans at the beginning of the year, hey, you're going to go to the Sweet sixteen, but you're going to lose in dramatic fashion and you're going to lose to Iowa, you're still signing up for that. But this is your hated rival. And give credit to Iowa. They hung in there. They just lingered. They just lingered long enough, and they end up picking up the win, all right, eight. 00:06:39 Speaker 2: Seven to seven to three. 00:06:40 Speaker 3: DP Show email address, DP at Danpatrick dot com, Twitter handle the DP Show. Well, the Big Ten is making a statement when you consider football and basketball. You've got a couple of teams that can advance. Couple more Big Ten teams that can advance. Tonight, Michigan State, Michigan. If I'm Greg Sank the SEC and I'm watching this, and I go, okay, all right, you're kind of piling on. 00:07:04 Speaker 2: Here a little bit. 00:07:06 Speaker 3: You know, we can take Michigan or Ohio State winning a national title in football. Now, Indiana and then we got basketball basketball dominating and a couple SEC teams bounced, certainly with Arkansas. It was a great run for John Kelli Peri. But here's the hard part. You know, you're not going to have Acuff back next year. He's going into the NBA. That's the hard part. Because John has never had a problem recruiting, and we've talked about this. I've talked about this with him. Can you get players who are going to stay for two years or three years? Because I think the wave of the future is these kids are going to make enough money to stay in college that they're not going to leave early and maybe be a second round pick or not get drafted. They might stay if they can make five hundred thousand dollars or somebody makes seven hundred and fifty thousand dollars and they'll stay an extra year, or maybe they'll stay for two extra years. Your mid majors are going to lose their players, you know, their star player that might appear on the radar, then all of a sudden, you know, these big schools will swoop in and pick them up. You know, John still needs to be able to get that core that can be there the next year. You want to have a Cuff. He's a tremendous player and he was wonderful throughout the tournament. The last tournament run I can remember for somebody like this, Steph Curry at Davidson. I think Steph scored a hundred points in the tournament. Acuff had around ninety. I think he surpassed his eye on Williamson's debut with the NCAA tournament. But he's a great coach when you think about it, and look what's happening so far with March Madness. I mean, Tom Izzo, one of the greatest coaches of all time. Patino, you can make an argument there's no greater coach strategy wise and ex'es and oh than Rick Pattino. And that's incorporating NBA and college. His ability to do what he does every place that he goes is really remarkable, unmatched. But you have you know, Danny Hurley's got a couple of titles there. There are a lot of high end coaches who have gotten this far. And the tricky part is North Carolina is sitting there open and you wonder what coach in the NCAA Tournament might end up at North Carolina because it feels like, and I was told this yesterday, North Carolina wants to get out ahead of the Kansas situation because if Bill self steps down, who could then fill that void? And North Carolina knows you're kind of on the clock. You want to make sure you get your guy. You want to get your guy before that opening happens in Kansas. By the way, Bill Murray's son, Luke Murray, he's the offensive coordinator basically for Yukon basketball. He's going to take the BC job. Now that's e me because yesterday I had Dan Hurley on and I should have asked him, now, are you prepared to lose Luke? And you know it was rumored there. I got caught up and ran out of time and when we got done, I made it. I should have asked him about that, because you know, you have this odd you know, this tournament run, and you're going to lose a really, really, really valuable person on that coaching staff. It's inevitable. But then you know, I got the heads up that he was probably taking the BC job and I didn't ask, So that that's on me. 00:10:43 Speaker 2: Yeah, See, Dan Hurley, had you. 00:10:44 Speaker 6: Asked him, probably would have started rubbing his eyes and say, I just you know, players come and go and they just I you know, I got to deal with what I could deal with. I can only control so much. 00:10:55 Speaker 5: You're right. 00:10:55 Speaker 6: Father wouldn't have allowed that. 00:10:56 Speaker 3: I know, But I should have still asked the question, even though I probably know what his answer would be. I still should. But he's going to stay on with Yukon. Oh look at Marvin all decked out in his husky gear. 00:11:09 Speaker 9: Come on, you gotta stay ready to have to get ready. Okay, come on, Oh you're ready game day. You're always ready, Come on always okay, And I'm gonna die in this, okay, bury me writing this? 00:11:20 Speaker 2: Really? 00:11:21 Speaker 5: Yes? 00:11:23 Speaker 2: Okay, like that's a verbal commitment. 00:11:26 Speaker 4: I'm signing a letter of intext. 00:11:27 Speaker 2: Okay, all right, so I'll bury you in that. 00:11:32 Speaker 4: Oh absolutely, okay, all right, no questions? Is rip Hamilton? 00:11:35 Speaker 2: Oh it's a rip Hamilton Jersey. 00:11:36 Speaker 4: Come on now, okay, come on, came out the wound ready for Yukon. 00:11:41 Speaker 3: A nice pull up jumper fifteen footer by Hamilton, come off the screen. Yes that's true. Set me a pick, I'll hit the fifteen footer. 00:11:49 Speaker 7: Yes, Paul would be more cool to be Khalid Leman am a little more niche. 00:11:52 Speaker 9: Jersey At Champ Sports in nineteen eety eight, they weren't selling Kalid element dress. This is forty nine dollars. In nineteen eighty eight, Kalid hell on me. Was me a second round pick of the Bulls. 00:12:04 Speaker 7: Yeah, he played like six months for the bull so he did. 00:12:06 Speaker 4: And he's built like Kirby Pucky. 00:12:08 Speaker 2: Yeah. 00:12:08 Speaker 9: Yeah, undersize and overweight. 00:12:11 Speaker 4: But he got busy. 00:12:13 Speaker 3: And he was a really good college player. He was a fun college player, got busy off the court as well. 00:12:20 Speaker 2: Then he get pulled over. 00:12:21 Speaker 4: Yeah, well it was a long time ago. 00:12:25 Speaker 3: Back when you weren't allowed to get pulled over with. I met a guy yesterday and he was showing off his car, beautiful BMW station wagon, and uh, I said, man, this is really nice. He said yeah, there's only one problem. It smells like pot. I said, well, don't smoke in the car. He goes, no, we rent this out and somebody smoked pot so it kind of absorbed in the leather. They lease it out and I go, if you get pulled over, you're in trouble. 00:13:00 Speaker 2: Get reeked. 00:13:01 Speaker 3: And the guy go, I don't smoke, but I drive this I've been driving this car for three weeks now, I'm like, does it get you know, the fine Corinthian leather, I get gets absorbed there in the carpet. I don't know how much they're smoking there, but somebody maybe got hot boxed in that. I don't know how I got from. I don't know a to Kalid La mean to this once again, this show nonscripted. 00:13:28 Speaker 2: Yes, Paul, I was. 00:13:30 Speaker 7: Wondering one thing about college basketball. Do you think the schools that take these one and dons would prefer not to take the one and dons and have guys that stay? Like you asked Danny Hurley yesterday, do you want these big names or you want guys for years and years? He's had years and years like ioways got a bunch of twenty one year olds on the roster. 00:13:48 Speaker 3: Yeah, produced same way. Yeah, do you get that experience? And I still believe in that it's nice to have that freshman, and but we've seen you gotta have other players. You can have the freshman. I gotta have, you know, some juniors and seniors in there because of these moments right now, March madness, because we've seen, you know, these freshmen and they're only there for six months, and they may be approaching it that way that it's not the end of the world if they don't win a title because they're going to the NBA. It's the end of the world to these Purdue kids who are gonna I've been there three or four years, or the Nebraska players who have been there three or four years. 00:14:32 Speaker 9: Yes, Marv, it's a fine line. You want a really good college player, but you don't want an NBA prospect. You don't want somebody that, man, he can go into lottery. You want somebody you know what, if he got out, he'd be a late first at best, maybe second rounder. 00:14:45 Speaker 3: But you know what happens, though, Marvin, is these kids have so many people talking to them. It's like, man, you gonna you're gonna be a first round draft pick. You know, at worst you'll be a second round draft pick. So they believe that, and then you'll find a lot of these guys and it's only two rounds. I mean, the draft used to be like eight or nine rounds. But now you know, you got to decide, am I really ready to go or do I need another year? Hey, I can stay another year. Because they're gonna pay me x amount of money, yes, Martin. 00:15:15 Speaker 5: Yeah. 00:15:15 Speaker 9: The worst part is watching a kid that was projected to go lottery and look, there's thirty kids that were being told, hey, you're a lottery pick. There's only fourteen lottery picks. So after pick fourteen, it's like, oh my gosh, what am I doing here? I could have been back in school making money, especially now with nil. 00:15:32 Speaker 3: All right, we'll take a break to meet Friday. Morale is high, and we'll get to your phone calls coming up. We'll settle on our pole question as well. Robbie Hummel, who has done an unbelievable job as an analyst for March Madness. He was there on the call with the Iowa Nebraska finish and Robbie will join us a little bit later on, but your phone calls will get to those. Settle on our pole question or back after this on The Dan Patrick Show. 00:15:58 Speaker 1: Be sure to catch the live edition of The Dan Patrick Show weekdays at nine am Eastern six am Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app. 00:16:08 Speaker 10: Paul Fools Gohea with Tony Foosco. 00:16:10 Speaker 12: Yeah, as everybody knows, we're the hosts of the Award winning Paully and Toni Foosco Show. Yeah, but instead of us telling you how great we are, here's how Dan Patrick described us when he came on our show. 00:16:20 Speaker 3: Quick, knowledgeable and funny, opinionated. 00:16:24 Speaker 1: What are you doing interrupting our promo? 00:16:26 Speaker 13: Yeah, you wasn't talking about you. 00:16:28 Speaker 9: You took those clips totally of context. 00:16:31 Speaker 12: Oh yeah, Well after this promo, I'm gonna take you out and beat you. 00:16:35 Speaker 2: Let me put this into context. 00:16:37 Speaker 1: Shut up. 00:16:37 Speaker 12: Yeah, anyway, just listen to the Paully and Tony Fusco Show on Iart Radio, Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts yee. 00:16:46 Speaker 3: Age seven to seven three DP show email address dpat Danpatrick dot com Twitter handled a TP show settled in yesterday. Get ready to watch the Pirates in Paul's schemes against the. 00:16:57 Speaker 2: Mets, And that ended quickly. 00:17:00 Speaker 3: As far as Paul's schemes, he didn't get helped out by his team, certainly his center fielder. He gave up five earned in two thirds of an inning as the Pirates got roughed up eleven to seven. That's the shortest outing by a reigning Cy Young winner and his team season opener in baseball history. 00:17:21 Speaker 2: No not yet. 00:17:22 Speaker 3: Previous low was three innings, shared by Tim Linsecum and Clayton Kershaw. Start of the Day brought to you by Panini America, the official trading cards of the program. Okay, this is what I don't understand. It felt like that it should have been an error on O'Neill Cruise, the center fielder for the Pirates. But Okay, doesn't get his glove on the ball. He does start, he breaks in and then it goes over his head. Now India converted short stop that now he's playing. He was a six seven shortstop, so now he's in the outfield. But Schemes gets tagged with all of these earned runs. I think his ZRA is now sixty seven point five. 00:18:13 Speaker 10: That's not gonna hold. 00:18:14 Speaker 2: I think it'll go down from there. But he's on pace. 00:18:18 Speaker 3: But I'm watching and I'm going, well, can't you have an error in judgment? Can can the official scores say that's an error in judgment by this center fielder? Skeens shouldn't be should not have been tagged with all those runs. 00:18:34 Speaker 2: Yes, Paul, you. 00:18:35 Speaker 7: Guys played baseball. It always felt like an error was a play. That's his routine gets blown by the fielder becomes an error. You know, O'Neil Cruz goes in and goes out, and if you look at it, I think he would have caught the ball handily if he went out. According to MLB, misjudgment is not an error, so it's a triple. An error is in physical misplay, and there's not physical misplay on that play. 00:19:01 Speaker 2: I got a problem with that. It looked like an error. It's an error in judgment. 00:19:06 Speaker 10: You should. 00:19:08 Speaker 3: I got a lot of things to answer the commissioner whenever he joins us again, I'm gonna ask him about error in judgment. By the way, yesterday we were ask about our favorite ballpark food, and. 00:19:21 Speaker 2: Mine's really simple. I'm not a nacho guy. I'm not. 00:19:24 Speaker 3: It's basically a hot dog and a beer. Like if you happen to grill the hot dog, throw a little mustard on there. Give me a beer, draft beer. I'm good. I am good to go. You know, here's something I learned yesterday that a lot of stadiums don't like doing draft beer because there's so much you know, about thirty percent that is wasted just from people trying to pour the beers not pouring them correctly. And therefore they don't like to do draft beer. But I didn't realize that. I would think you would have people who be experienced in but no, there's there's a lot of spillage there is that that that's what they would say. But yeah, just give me a hot dog. I'm good, some mustard. I don't need anything else there, Todd, what did you well? You love everything at a ballpark. 00:20:13 Speaker 14: I narrowed it down to hot dogs and Nacho's. I also mentioned something that wasn't part of an actual baseball stadium. 00:20:19 Speaker 10: I went with concessions. I went off the board with something I had at a basketball game. So I thought it was amazing. 00:20:25 Speaker 2: But that was at the Timberwolves Mavericks. 00:20:28 Speaker 14: Yes, I had no idea that you can get mac and cheese with slices of hot dog in the cup of mac and cheese. 00:20:33 Speaker 10: I was like, in Heaven, I'm like, this is a thing. I got my Mountain Dealer. I got my mac and cheese with hot dog in it, went to my seat. 00:20:39 Speaker 2: What about you Marvin ballpark food? 00:20:42 Speaker 9: So I went to Camden Yards about ten years ago, had the crab cakes there my one seat. I know, is it kind of a cheat code? But from then on out, I was like anytime I would go there, crab cakes. 00:20:53 Speaker 3: I remember going to pack Bell now Oracle Park and they had sushi and they had craft beer. This is when craft beer just came out, and I was like, like they might have had Red Hook on tap and I had sushi. I'm going not your normal experience at the ballpark. 00:21:18 Speaker 6: The I P A and a whatever role. 00:21:22 Speaker 3: Yes, I have a spicy tuna role plase and something a little happy. 00:21:28 Speaker 2: Yeah, give me the berry bones role? Please? People up in arms about Netflix. 00:21:37 Speaker 3: I was listening Mad Dog yesterday on his Mad Dog Radio. 00:21:41 Speaker 2: Oh was he? 00:21:42 Speaker 3: He was apoplectic of Now, Okay, I don't want Jameis Winston involved in the broadcast. 00:21:48 Speaker 2: I get it. It's a one off. 00:21:50 Speaker 3: You know, maybe they're gearing up for, you know when when he retires he'll be an NFL analyst. 00:21:56 Speaker 5: Uh. 00:21:57 Speaker 3: He's you know, quirky and maybe he'll be successful as an analyst. But you start to look at everything. You know, Barry Bonds was there, of course, and everybody's like, oh, you want to hear from Barry Bonds. 00:22:09 Speaker 2: I don't. I mean, you know, what's he going to tell you? Now? 00:22:16 Speaker 3: The thing is that when he said I was a great teammate. And I said to myself, as I'm listening to this, I said, no, you weren't, because Barry told me that he wouldn't share information with his teammates because, as he said to me, they could be on another team next year. 00:22:34 Speaker 2: So not a good team. 00:22:36 Speaker 3: And if you're going to have bonds on, you don't need to ask about steroids. But I would certainly want to ask about Jeff Kent, his teammate who's going into the Hall of Fame and Barry's not. 00:22:46 Speaker 2: But I looked at Netflix, ays, Okay. 00:22:49 Speaker 3: They're going to try really really hard, and they did, and they brought out all the shiny objects that they have and comedians and wrestlers and look at all the things that we do. 00:23:00 Speaker 2: I get it. 00:23:01 Speaker 3: And they're only going to do two more events affiliated with Major League Baseball and they weren't equipped for this now getting the right people to do it who do this on a regular and that's why NBC. NBC gets the best schedule in football because they have the best technical people and then you have the best broadcasters there, so it's no great surprise there. 00:23:26 Speaker 2: They do it better than anybody. But Netflix. 00:23:29 Speaker 3: This isn't what they do well, but they wanted to give their best, show you what we can do, and then down the road, Netflix is going to be involved in more sports. But like I didn't, I don't want to standalone game on Netflix, but I do like a standalone opening day. 00:23:49 Speaker 2: But I know it didn't end. It didn't ruin my day, mad Dog. 00:23:53 Speaker 3: Who's you know the gatekeeper from Major League Baseball Island going crazy, going Chris, It's okay, It's just one game. And then he's he's ranting about the canoes out in McCovey cove like this is this is We're done with this. This used to be a thing like ten fifteen years ago. I'm like, it's okay. You know who has been out there in the canoe? Buddha in San Francisco. Buddha joins us, Now, good morning, Buddha. What's on your mind? 00:24:28 Speaker 8: No body? 00:24:31 Speaker 15: Felice Dia de Lass gotta ds is Super Bowl. I'm on nose re seeds, Bonjoe de France Champagne from the campaign DP. You gotta admit. Calling in at two pm instead of six am is nice. Total game changer, man, This is awesome. Wait where are you in France right now. 00:24:51 Speaker 8: I'm in Paris and I'm waiting to get on a train to go down to Leone and I'm gonna go to Schatza, mister pop, and I'm gonna get on a cruise liner go down the Rhon River and learn some things and do some side visits and get ready for your great picking trip. 00:25:04 Speaker 5: Dan, you know what I mean. 00:25:05 Speaker 3: When I retire, You're gonna hook me up. I'm going great picking and uh in south of France. 00:25:13 Speaker 2: I got you. 00:25:13 Speaker 8: But I wanted to call in Dan because you guys are talking about the bo Jackson thing this week, and to all to all the people that didn't listen his welcome moment to the NFL after suffering his concussion and going to the wrong sideline and then Steve Berline getting bow back on track as he said, quote unquote with this concussion question, WHOA when's payday Monday? And it was like, oh my god, it was like giving him smelling salts man. But lastly, Dan, as far as the Emmys go, this show is not made. As someone mentioned to you yesterday, and to the Dan adds to the BRGS and to DP nation, win or loose, we celebrate as the shirt says, and the greatness of the DP show. It's been a sander for twenty years and we all choose to tune in watch listen daily. So any schmammy DP and I'll see it for the room. Who's got it better than us? 00:26:09 Speaker 2: Nobody? 00:26:11 Speaker 3: Thank you, Buddha, have fun over there. Buddha lives a pretty good life though now he's single and uh, traveling around over in France and check out some champagne bring it back to his restaurant gus in La. 00:26:26 Speaker 2: I guess. 00:26:29 Speaker 13: Good more than mister Perry, mister Patrick if courly courly got all from the game. Anyways, hope you boys are having a great day man, great kickoffs of the weekend. 00:26:43 Speaker 5: Boys. 00:26:44 Speaker 13: I was that Opening Day yesterday. I've never experienced an opening day, but it was arguably the greatest one. Everybody was there. I got Will Ferrell drive in in a Cadillag bull rider on the way in. That was great to see. It was. I told this to Tyler and I wasn't sure if I was going to mention it or not. But you know what, I'm a proud godfather today because my godson, you know, he discovered baseball last year and my god son's autistic and he's not full spectrum, but he is on the spectrum to where he doesn't really like crowds. So we were kind of nervous. But he loved the Dodgers. So it was, you know, sixty five thousand packed everything yesterday and to watch him to where he will not like crowds of fifteen people go nuts for every single run the Dodgers school yesterday. He was high fiving strangers. He is jumping up and down. He's like he's counting down the dodge of dogs that he's eating. He was loving everything. He was patriotic when the Jets flew over. Greatest day of my life boys thus far. To watch my godson just become a different person yesterday. That was one of the best things to see boys. 00:28:01 Speaker 3: Awesome. Thank you Gus, thanks for sharing. Have a great weekend. Ryan in Detroit, Hi, Ryan, what's on your mind today? 00:28:10 Speaker 5: Hey, good morning, Dan. A couple things for you. 00:28:13 Speaker 16: One, well, first, those first two games last night were awesome, and with Illinois in the later game, I just I wonder if they're onto something new with their recruiting strategy, getting all those Eastern European folks. And then the second thing I had was I just couldn't watch the games last night with Kevin Harlan without thinking about Fritzy. 00:28:40 Speaker 5: It's crazy. 00:28:43 Speaker 10: No Razorbacks want to talk about it. On nineteen free run for the Wildcats. 00:28:48 Speaker 9: This is college Basketball's March Madness on True TV. 00:28:52 Speaker 3: Thank you, thank you to Your face gets all red when you do your Kevin Harden get a lightheaded? 00:28:59 Speaker 2: Oh soon? And is I you know? 00:29:01 Speaker 3: I'm waiting for the game to come on and then boom, Kevin Harland sets the scene for where they are and I did think of you that are you imitating Kevin Harlan while Kevin Harlan is getting us ready for that? 00:29:13 Speaker 10: I did do that a few times. And the wife doesn't like it very much. 00:29:16 Speaker 2: It's a kid. 00:29:16 Speaker 10: You just watch the game and six. 00:29:17 Speaker 2: Still, but you do the theme music as well. 00:29:23 Speaker 10: A fifteen to three. 00:29:24 Speaker 4: Run for the hawk Eyes. 00:29:26 Speaker 10: This March Madness on TBS. 00:29:28 Speaker 3: Russell in Philly, Good morning Russell, what's on your mind today? 00:29:32 Speaker 5: Good morning Dan? During that six one seventeen, So, I'm watching the Purdue game last night. Amazing game, but those big guys are giving me a lot of Draymond Green fields. They were pretty dirty, pretty scrappy in there. And secondly, shout out to my Phillies swore. Bomb got a two day two runs shot. Boomb we got three run shot open to day one though, let's go go Berg. 00:30:04 Speaker 3: All right, did you see the story of the is it the Phillies player? Alex Baum? He's suing his parents. They mismanaged his money and he's suing them. So the Phillies third baseman, Let me see if I can. Uh, let's see. So he's suing, but it's going to be an awkward Thanksgiving. He is suing his parents for three million dollars, alleging that they funneled away muse his money while they were managing that. Uh. 00:30:36 Speaker 2: The lawsuit reportedly was filed Wednesday. 00:30:40 Speaker 3: And uh, let's see, he opened up with a homer Uh yesterday. Let me see what else? 00:30:49 Speaker 2: Anything else in here that stands out? 00:30:52 Speaker 7: Yeah, Bomb and his attorney are saying that the parents froze him out of four different accounts. Of course, the parents are saying that they he he has full access to the accounts. He's also saying they took converted a size all amount of his money from those accounts for their own use. 00:31:11 Speaker 6: I think when you've made nineteen and you're wondering where three are, that's that's a lot of money. I mean, three million dollars is a lot of money anytime. Yes, but when it's you know, fifteen to twenty percent of what you've made, this significant. 00:31:27 Speaker 3: Allegedly, they have indicated they were billing their son for the management of his affairs at the rate of fifty dollars per hour. They are listed as the directors of the Alex Baum Foundation on his website. 00:31:44 Speaker 4: They just got to vote that foundation. 00:31:45 Speaker 6: By the way, all signs that they know what they're doing with that money and know how to take it. 00:31:51 Speaker 2: Yeah. 00:31:52 Speaker 3: Wow, how does that work when next time you see them, hey mom, hey ded or maybe you don't see them anymore. 00:32:01 Speaker 2: Yes, tod, I'd be bombed out if parents. 00:32:05 Speaker 13: Do. 00:32:06 Speaker 2: Speaking of bombing, yes, yes, Paulie. 00:32:09 Speaker 4: You always see these videos. 00:32:10 Speaker 7: There's one that's out there where a guy made the bigs and he got drafted and he got like a five million dollar bonus and his parents opened up this letter that he paid off their mortgage and the parents are crying, thanks for all those times you took me to practice and travel teams. Well, these parents just said, let's bypass that you're going to pay for our house and we'll tell you about it. 00:32:28 Speaker 6: Yeah, there's a huge difference between saying mom and dad, I paid off your mortgage or mom and dad saying, oh, you paid off our mortgage. 00:32:35 Speaker 2: Huge difference. 00:32:36 Speaker 6: Just trying to help you out by the way, you paid off our mortgage. Thank you, shouldn't I. 00:32:40 Speaker 3: They sent a letter to their son saying, hey, look at what you did for us. 00:32:45 Speaker 6: Just wanted to say that. 00:32:46 Speaker 7: I do think it's it's the idea of having a relative manager money that seems just like a bad decision in life. You would think that, well, who can I trust more than a relative? But if things will work, you could fire your business manager. You never hire somebody you can't fire. Right, Yes, accurate, thank you. Let's take a break here. 00:33:12 Speaker 10: What do you start yelling at your kid, who's gonna be thirty in August? 00:33:15 Speaker 14: One for four with a walk? Like, where's the money coming from? Got one for four with a walk? I don't ever I'm gonna be thirty. I gave you plenty of money. You stole so much of my money. You got to stop striking out. 00:33:30 Speaker 10: Like he's a little like he's a little No, no, I got your old man on my professional base. 00:33:35 Speaker 2: The bit is over? 00:33:36 Speaker 10: Is it over? 00:33:37 Speaker 2: It is over? Yeah, this bin is over? 00:33:39 Speaker 4: Okay, why are you trying to bunt? 00:33:43 Speaker 13: All right? 00:33:44 Speaker 5: Your back? 00:33:46 Speaker 10: I'm not nine anymore? 00:33:48 Speaker 6: Which is worth speaking to an adult that way or a nine year old that way? 00:33:51 Speaker 3: You gotta punt or speaking to Todd that way? And I get both ends of that. 00:33:58 Speaker 10: Who's gonna be thirty on August? 00:34:00 Speaker 8: Thank you? 00:34:00 Speaker 5: Ton? 00:34:01 Speaker 3: All right, let me take a break. Poll results from our one seaton, which is worse on the court? Too many players or not enough right now? Not enough has seventy six percent of that vote. We got a couple other poll questions up here too. Are you going to be buried in your favorite team's gear? 00:35:47 Speaker 4: Yes? 00:35:47 Speaker 5: Or no? 00:35:48 Speaker 2: Right now? 00:35:48 Speaker 6: Seventy seven percent of the audience say no, they will not be buried in their favorite teams gear. And how do you like your hot dogs? Three or more toppings or rote topics oops, three or more topics or two or less two or less has about seventy four percent of that bullet too. 00:36:03 Speaker 3: What role do the officials play in saying to Nebraska you only have four players? 00:36:08 Speaker 7: PAULI, I got a hold of a college, an active college ref, And if the college ref sees that there's only four players on the court, he is not supposed to warn the team. That would be helping one team over the other. So from a competitive standpoint, you wouldn't warn the team. Now, if they had six players on the court, you would ding them and give them a technical. But if a team has four players on the court, the ref has no responsibility to warn anybody officially. 00:36:35 Speaker 3: And Paul, he sends out a text right as it's happening. It's like, what are they doing? There's only four players? And then all of a sudden you realize Nebraska can't do anything because the player who's going to come in can't come in. He tries to, you know, the official has to bring you in like a matre d And then all of a sudden you got I would go. 00:37:01 Speaker 2: Throw it in, throw it in, yues Todd. 00:37:04 Speaker 10: But an official can do that. 00:37:05 Speaker 5: I know. 00:37:05 Speaker 14: It's not manters like in football. Don't we see that all the time. If someone's up on the line like a receiver, offensive line or whatever. They have an opportunity to give them a little wave, like, you know, step back a little bit. 00:37:14 Speaker 10: They're not obligated right. 00:37:15 Speaker 2: Now, but they don't warn you. 00:37:17 Speaker 3: You you can check with them, but the official doesn't say. If CD lamb is lined up and he's off sides, they don't go, hey, CD back up. 00:37:25 Speaker 14: So the player initiates that with the official and asks, my good okay. 00:37:28 Speaker 3: But I don't even know if officials acknowledge that. It's weird when I watch that. When you have, you know, a wide receiver he's looking over and he's checking with the official. I don't know if I've seen the official go hey, thumbs up or you're okay. 00:37:43 Speaker 2: Maybe it's a head nod. 00:37:44 Speaker 3: But in that you know that instance, they will not tell you unless you ask. You cannot give them a heads up and warn them. Uh Jay in Delaware, Good morning, Jay, what's on your mind today? 00:37:59 Speaker 5: He d always know it's a weekend when I hear gussin Bud his voices on the line. 00:38:05 Speaker 3: By the way, hold on for a second, Jay, I gotta make sure that door to the kitchen stays closed because I'm smelling those hot dogs and I'm not gonna. 00:38:14 Speaker 2: Make it till the end of the show. Yeah, Paulie, Dan, you don't have to make it to the end. 00:38:19 Speaker 4: It's the boss. 00:38:20 Speaker 3: But if I can't make it, then everybody else can't make it. 00:38:23 Speaker 7: Because just like a baseball game, you don't wait till the ninth inning to have your first hot dog or sausage. 00:38:29 Speaker 10: Yeah, this could be an anomaly day. 00:38:31 Speaker 3: Well, Seaton's already said, Hey, I'm blown through the stop sign. I might have five hot dogs today. 00:38:36 Speaker 6: Respectfully, Dan, I'm making it another three minutes and then I'm having a. 00:38:40 Speaker 2: Hot so at the top of the hour. 00:38:42 Speaker 6: Correct. As soon as the show, this segment is over, I'm putting my headphones down and I'm going again a hot dog. 00:38:46 Speaker 3: Okay, I have Respectfully, I'm not Look, this is all about morale today. We had a rough week. If you want to have a mid show hot dog, to have midshow right now, I can't do mid show ice cream helmets can't do that. 00:39:08 Speaker 6: I can wait on that, Todd. 00:39:10 Speaker 10: That's fine, But what about top of the eleven o'clock hour? 00:39:13 Speaker 13: Top? 00:39:16 Speaker 5: All right? 00:39:16 Speaker 3: You can have one dog per hour? Okay, one dog per hour. 00:39:23 Speaker 6: It's like fasting right now, how about on the half hour. 00:39:30 Speaker 3: Back to do No the ice cream helmets have to wait until the very end. What's our nacho status the nacho nacho's last hour of the progress, Sausage and peppers. 00:39:43 Speaker 2: I mean you can't wait on that. 00:39:44 Speaker 6: Come on maybe our hour three's top of hour three Sausage and peppers. Got to do it? 00:39:49 Speaker 2: Okay, how about this top of. 00:39:54 Speaker 3: Okay hot dog coming up at top of this hour, top of neck Tour, Sausage and Pepper's greatest eleven thirty Eastern Time crab dip, and then we can have ice cream in our helmets at the end of the show. 00:40:14 Speaker 4: Yeah. 00:40:14 Speaker 2: Good plan, A good plan. 00:40:16 Speaker 10: Good management. That is, that's just good management. 00:40:20 Speaker 2: Thank you, thank you. Come up with once again. I had this planned. 00:40:25 Speaker 3: I thought, you know what, we're going to get nominated for a Sports Emmy and Friday, we're going to have a big blowout and we're going to have all of our you know, ballpark foods that we love. 00:40:36 Speaker 6: This is there seven times the sharm lucky number seven. 00:40:39 Speaker 2: This is the one we're doing it. 00:40:40 Speaker 3: And then because Dylan is shopping for all of this, he's getting our miniature helmets like he got you a Yankee helmet, Paulia Cubs helmet, Marvin A. Blue Jay's helmet, Todd an Astro's helmet, Mia Red's helmet. And I said, no, you know, and then he goes, since we didn't get nominated, should we have this? I go, no, we need this now more than ever I think. But he was buying all his stuff earlier in the week. Alrighty one hour in the books, two more to go. We always have five men on the floor with his team, Fritzy Ston Mark. 00:41:20 Speaker 2: Hot Dog Time, Guys 00:41:21 Speaker 3: Hot Dog Time, and five four three two one
