[SPEAKER_02]: Welcome to the Forty K-Lorecast.
[SPEAKER_02]: Welcome to the Forty-K-Lorecast with me, John Brassani and Brad Jester.
[SPEAKER_02]: This guy.
[SPEAKER_02]: And today's cast, we're going to finish up our coverage of the Fissuous Sassinorum with a deep dive into each type of a sass and used by the Imperium, you know, with a specialized in how they're created.
[SPEAKER_02]: And a couple of other fun lore stories about them.
[SPEAKER_00]: Fun stories being horror stories.
[SPEAKER_00]: Lovecraftian.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: I think there's a vindicator, that's how that bad.
[SPEAKER_02]: So we got maybe one that's not on the, well, actually, we've had, they're all only one of the, the Everest stories are just nightmare sounds.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: Some of them are actually pretty cool.
[SPEAKER_02]: Anyway, as always before we begin, please like and comment on the cast.
[SPEAKER_02]: It does help us out a lot.
[SPEAKER_02]: It is increasing our audience size.
[SPEAKER_02]: We're constantly ranked in the top five and I think UK Australia and Sweden on and off because you guys just seemed to batch us and then not listen us for a while.
[SPEAKER_00]: We're really hoping to,
[SPEAKER_00]: really get into the, the break dancing Larkas from Australia.
[SPEAKER_02]: So, oh god.
[SPEAKER_02]: And then you actually in the U.S.
[SPEAKER_02]: were still, I mean, we're at top fifteen because it's in the U.S.
[SPEAKER_02]: but we could be better.
[SPEAKER_02]: And that's really done primarily by getting new listeners.
[SPEAKER_02]: So, the, all you got to do is like and leave a little comment.
[SPEAKER_02]: Also nice.
[SPEAKER_02]: Just so you know, I do read the comments and they, some of them are quite funny, like the person who point out they thought Brad was saying the sky, instead of this guy, the whole time.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_02]: And also, but also somebody just will write snarky things and I read them and they make me laugh.
[SPEAKER_02]: So go for it.
[SPEAKER_02]: But speaking of interaction, we also have a discord.
[SPEAKER_02]: I think we made that pretty clear.
[SPEAKER_02]: This is a fifty first time I've mentioned it.
[SPEAKER_02]: But anyway.
[SPEAKER_02]: The discord is there.
[SPEAKER_02]: The link is in the show notes.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's a really great community that you can be part of.
[SPEAKER_02]: We're talking everything from, you know, episode discussion, episode questions, episode criticisms.
[SPEAKER_02]: Believe me.
[SPEAKER_02]: We're I'm happy to receive them.
[SPEAKER_02]: But also beyond that, more forty-k in general.
[SPEAKER_02]: There's people in there who are new to modeling, new to painting, who are looking for advice.
[SPEAKER_02]: There's people who are just showing off what they've done.
[SPEAKER_02]: People talk about video games, you know, books, video games, anything.
[SPEAKER_00]: Please.
[SPEAKER_00]: There's discussions about, yes.
[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, and I am, unless, no, I mean, there's I am in there every day, unless something like is going on, I'm just too busy, but I'm usually in a multiple time today.
[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm like, you know, it's, yeah, Brad's reading in the corner like a weirdo.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's odd that you do that.
[SPEAKER_02]: I don't, it's fine.
[SPEAKER_02]: Anyway, but so if you're looking for a Forty K lower community to be part of and chat more questions, jump on it.
[SPEAKER_02]: We'd love to have you there.
[SPEAKER_02]: Also, this link in the show notes to our Patreon.
[SPEAKER_02]: Hopefully, you all can tell that the audio has improved a lot over the last, you know, maybe ten episodes or so.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's really thanks to our patrons.
[SPEAKER_02]: We have people who've committed money to us, who give us, and it's a huge asset.
[SPEAKER_02]: We used it to buy new microphones, actually hired some, an audio engineer to clean up some of our audio so that when I decide to just turn my head away from the microphone and speak, I just took Brad out.
[SPEAKER_02]: He was, that was mid, Dr. Pepper.
[SPEAKER_02]: Without that one in your nose.
[SPEAKER_02]: That was carbonation in the nose.
[SPEAKER_02]: That did not feel good.
[SPEAKER_02]: Did it?
[SPEAKER_00]: No, it did not.
[SPEAKER_02]: Anyway, but it was a good giggle.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I just did not realize microphones are directional.
[SPEAKER_02]: And I realized that around episode forty.
[SPEAKER_00]: So anyway, even though the microphone specifically has a thing that says directional microphone on it.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's all right.
[SPEAKER_00]: Those are words.
[SPEAKER_00]: So for those of you who have spent every episode, I spend in the in order to amount of time.
[SPEAKER_00]: Aligning myself perfectly.
[SPEAKER_00]: Also, I want you to point it.
[SPEAKER_00]: I want to point out.
[SPEAKER_00]: Not only do I spend time fixing my microphone, would you switch the microphones this week?
[SPEAKER_00]: By the way, you took my perfectly aligned microphone and maybe your microphone.
[SPEAKER_00]: And you also made my chair so high.
[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_00]: Is that I cannot touch the ground?
[SPEAKER_02]: Sorry, this is funny.
[SPEAKER_02]: So two things.
[SPEAKER_02]: One, Brad's totally wrong.
[SPEAKER_02]: I put the microphones in a closet and pull them out.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's a fifty-fifty shot.
[SPEAKER_02]: He got the same one as last week every time.
[SPEAKER_02]: The more funny thing is, Brad sits in my desk chair while we do this.
[SPEAKER_02]: I am six foot four.
[SPEAKER_02]: I realized that my chair is a little bit low.
[SPEAKER_02]: So I raised my chair up this week because to kind of help with my lower back, I can feel more comfortable.
[SPEAKER_02]: I didn't raise up that much, but Brad's feet don't touch the ground right now.
[SPEAKER_02]: So he's like a little kid sitting in a high chair and his feet are just dangling and swinging.
[SPEAKER_02]: And it's really been entertaining because he could just press the button to lower the chair and he's not doing it on principle because Brad seems to want to will himself taller.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's working.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's totally.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's any day now.
[SPEAKER_02]: Any day now.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm about to hit a growth spread.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: Fifty something that that's what you should have as the people in their fifties.
[SPEAKER_02]: They've randomly get taller taller and healthier.
[SPEAKER_02]: Anyway, speaking of bread, bread is a coach of forty gay.
[SPEAKER_02]: He's not just a giant, Laura fan.
[SPEAKER_02]: He is that too.
[SPEAKER_02]: But this is what Brad does.
[SPEAKER_02]: If you're looking for help within Forty K either, to kind of just learn the game as it beginner, understand maybe just kind of improve your list building and prove some little facets to the end that you think you're struggling in.
[SPEAKER_02]: Or if you are an experienced player and you want to kind of cross that Rubicon from like a three and two GT to four and one or even to five and no, Brad coaches, he's a lot of experience coaching people on that.
[SPEAKER_02]: We probably should mention them like that you've been coaching for a while.
[SPEAKER_02]: This is not a thing.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, you really like it, but also you have a lot of experience with it with all these areas.
[SPEAKER_00]: So if you want to reach out to him, you can email him at old man Brad, FortyCadGmail.com.
[SPEAKER_02]: Or you go to our website, the FortyCadLorecast.com, click his link there.
[SPEAKER_02]: So anyway, with that, let's jump into the assassin.
[SPEAKER_02]: On the last episode, we discussed kind of the history of the assassins and some of the basics of, like, how a person ends up as an assassin with a scola progenium.
[SPEAKER_02]: On today's cast, we're going to start off with the actual making of that person into an assassin and then the individual assassin schools and temples.
[SPEAKER_02]: So starting off with like, what an assassin is.
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, let's talk about the beginning of it though, because they don't start making an assassin until they've effectively
[SPEAKER_00]: Some I broke in the psyche.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: So they have to start with a scarred individual because, in to give them their credit, even though this is a nightmare thing, the way they do things because magic exists.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, helps.
[SPEAKER_00]: They need this to happen for their program to work.
[SPEAKER_02]: Exactly.
[SPEAKER_02]: And the challenge you want to do with assassins is they are
[SPEAKER_02]: a singular fighting force.
[SPEAKER_02]: You have to ascend a sass and out.
[SPEAKER_02]: Now there are stories of some of them that do that do change their mind partly through the, you know, there are sassants and there's still humans at a certain point.
[SPEAKER_00]: And they're also horribly scarred.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, so there are some that term of the most part, they get sent out completely on their own to do something.
[SPEAKER_02]: And this is one of my favorite parts of actually assassins before we dive into the individuals is, and it, because when you forget about, you start reading them, they are super soldiers, individual super soldiers, like the stuff of movies.
[SPEAKER_00]: because the thing is that these casserole ninjas and whatnot, but a lot of these assassins, cough cough calis, are super wildly skilled, their computer hackers, they can convince you and everything that they'll beat you in poker, James Bonstein.
[SPEAKER_02]: Exactly, because the assassins have to go out as this fully self-sufficient force.
[SPEAKER_02]: You can't, I mean,
[SPEAKER_02]: The Imperium kind of knows they exist, but do not even officially part of the Imperium.
[SPEAKER_02]: So, at the example, I usually say, you can't be in a chimera, riding across a battlefield, and there's just a cowardice standing next to you.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's like, oh, it's camping.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's gotta be soldier-eric.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's who you have to believe, they're just another soldier, or more often than not, they're soloing, which is what's really cool, which is more of, I mean, to get into British construct in GW, is James Bond.
[SPEAKER_02]: Although more Leon.
[SPEAKER_02]: And if you don't know what Leon is, go watch it.
[SPEAKER_02]: Professional.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's wildly more Leon.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: Then it is James Bond.
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, it's it is both.
[SPEAKER_02]: We didn't sense it's a little bit above because Leon depends which assess which part of the tries may not sit the movie is called Leon and ever but the US.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's only the U.S.
[SPEAKER_02]: to call the professional.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's ever lost in the world.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's called Leona.
[SPEAKER_02]: If you didn't know that, there you go.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's because they realized that you called it Leon.
[SPEAKER_02]: Americans wouldn't have gone and seen it.
[SPEAKER_02]: Also incredible film.
[SPEAKER_02]: But this was the idea.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's what that's what I mean.
[SPEAKER_02]: But that's what they have to have the killing prowess of Leon.
[SPEAKER_02]: But they also have to have the skills of a James Bond.
[SPEAKER_02]: They are some of the best of the first thing they actually teach them to do is how to drive.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's they have to be able to grab an any vehicle in the Imperium and drive it.
[SPEAKER_02]: Really at a pretty impressive rate because it could be a driving it like, hey, I can drive anything.
[SPEAKER_00]: We'll pull that back.
[SPEAKER_00]: Sometimes you need to drive a vehicle and or a ship and go, you need to locate anti aircraft firing.
[SPEAKER_00]: You can't just be, I know how to drive a shuttle.
[SPEAKER_02]: But you also need to be able to drive a large thing.
[SPEAKER_02]: I have people say, hey, can that guy actually drive that?
[SPEAKER_02]: You have to drive it with genuine experience.
[SPEAKER_02]: So they can blend in.
[SPEAKER_02]: You have to figure out like, hey, which pedal is the clutch?
[SPEAKER_02]: What's crazy about this is they end up with skill sets that actually the rest of the imperium would just use these guys as a pilot.
[SPEAKER_02]: And that's just what they can do on what I would call tearing craft.
[SPEAKER_02]: They also can have to be able to fly space craft.
[SPEAKER_02]: Remember, in the Imperium, this doesn't exist.
[SPEAKER_02]: In the Imperium, you have people who fly space ships, people who drive trucks, people who drive motors, it's all separated.
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, unless you're in the work for Eisenhower.
[SPEAKER_02]: Fair enough, I assume, does have the one guy who can fly.
[SPEAKER_02]: But even that, it's not everything.
[SPEAKER_02]: I would think the assassins just hop on some things.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I'm just saying.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I'm just saying.
[SPEAKER_02]: Like the assassins, because they have razor scooters, still existed.
[SPEAKER_02]: They could use a razor scooter and get around better than anyone's ever seen.
[SPEAKER_02]: So the assassins are this just super pilot.
[SPEAKER_02]: The other example, this is Obi-Wan Kenobi, where you know, when he's as a pilot, where he's just, yeah, I can just, whatever, watch this.
[SPEAKER_00]: We, we, we, not even known.
[SPEAKER_00]: He's actually supposed to be a shitty pilot.
[SPEAKER_02]: And I'll still a really good pilot.
[SPEAKER_02]: Was he?
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: I didn't know that.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's a joke.
[SPEAKER_00]: Because Anakin was, was this great pilot?
[SPEAKER_00]: And Obi-Wan was a bad pilot.
[SPEAKER_00]: And then in all the movies and shows and everything, he's still a wildly great combat pilot.
[SPEAKER_02]: This is a, I like Star Wars.
[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know it as well as I guess I should.
[SPEAKER_02]: I thought I did.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's fine.
[SPEAKER_02]: Assassins are all huge.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's not subtle.
[SPEAKER_02]: But assassins are also some of the greatest spies in the world.
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, let's pause on that.
[SPEAKER_00]: I do want to go this because you're underselling that because sometimes an assassin has to get a shit ton of intel before he does his specific job because sometimes his job is actually to collect the information and then eliminate the assassin might be your press secretary for the next two months.
[SPEAKER_00]: doing a great job.
[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_02]: The best person who you ever had, you're sad twice when they murder you.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: One because I'm dying and also you are my best employee.
[SPEAKER_00]: You're so good.
[SPEAKER_02]: Are you going to continue to work after you?
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's like, can you pull, you have just do the, do the universal favor and continue being oppressed secretaries.
[SPEAKER_02]: There's never been anyone like you.
[SPEAKER_00]: At least tell everybody about my tough.
[SPEAKER_02]: But to that end, what assassins are incredible at is subterfue.
[SPEAKER_02]: So one challenge they do have is we were just discussing the best pilots, but they're not navigators.
[SPEAKER_02]: So they can't do warp travel.
[SPEAKER_02]: So they had to figure out a way to get on to a ship.
[SPEAKER_02]: One of them is not going to succeed.
[SPEAKER_02]: None of the supplies they ever saw.
[SPEAKER_02]: Everything we're saying, and actually even the colectus with his giant helmet probably isn't going to blend in too well of like, hello fellow kids.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: What is your helmet for directed murder?
[SPEAKER_02]: Not important, but for the other ones, they actually have to all.
[SPEAKER_02]: So, and this isn't just the colladious who's known for it, even the vented care and all them have to be able to blend into a society.
[SPEAKER_00]: It has to just hang out.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: He might also, the vending, it's a living care is actually
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, it's a harder time.
[SPEAKER_00]: The count is just better at it.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's the two of them.
[SPEAKER_00]: The vendor has to actually has to James Bond it up.
[SPEAKER_00]: because he might spend a long time figuring out where is exactly the best place to go.
[SPEAKER_02]: There.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: So blending in becomes a really key part of everything that the assassins do.
[SPEAKER_02]: Unlike the custos who in the eyes of the emperor who are nine foot tall, five hundred pound men with a cloak on.
[SPEAKER_02]: Hello.
[SPEAKER_02]: Hello, human.
[SPEAKER_02]: Jesus.
[SPEAKER_02]: Very average human.
[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I was just wondering, they're about the size of the men.
[SPEAKER_00]: They said they'll fall out.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's really sent to the whole.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, but green Hulk.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: And just when hey, man, blend in and just have a drink with your fellow workers.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to take up all the seats.
[SPEAKER_02]: Anyway, the assistant's door.
[SPEAKER_00]: Second shift.
[SPEAKER_00]: Just like you.
[SPEAKER_00]: You know what?
[SPEAKER_02]: No, you know.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: Good shift, though.
[SPEAKER_00]: Probably take up your numbers.
[SPEAKER_02]: But the assassins, they become this master of of spycraft.
[SPEAKER_02]: So they know how to create and utilize informants.
[SPEAKER_02]: They can infiltrate organizations as well as they can also hack and decrypt data banks because they need to be able to gather all this information because all more often than not, the assassins do have will get into it a whole
[SPEAKER_02]: guild based around information gathering, oftentimes to get to their final target, they'll have to do some of themselves.
[SPEAKER_02]: And so they have to have the ability to actually massive hack.
[SPEAKER_00]: They have to be movie hackers.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, do it instantly.
[SPEAKER_00]: Instead of the boring hacker, which is I sit forever, don't sleep and hang out.
[SPEAKER_00]: But their hacking is moving hacking where they have to do it now.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: And so what happens is as a result of this too, a cool side note to that is the assassins in all their information gathering will oftentimes uncover other things while they're doing it.
[SPEAKER_02]: So they're going to still focus on their mission, but that's the full get reported back to the inquisition.
[SPEAKER_02]: And so the single assassin mission can turn into much broader missions for the inquisition.
[SPEAKER_02]: Things like, do you use Gisler Colton investigations where they're still going to kill that Patriarch or the head of whatever is going on, but they now know.
[SPEAKER_02]: And he had to go back to the planet.
[SPEAKER_00]: He's one of my, it's just my one of my favorite series of books.
[SPEAKER_00]: Eisenhower and God, some of the things he got from Assassin.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: And like things he found out, you know what I mean?
[SPEAKER_00]: And he does his own thing, but we've already talked about that.
[SPEAKER_00]: Eisenhower and
[SPEAKER_00]: want to dinner alive, just hang, just kind of does whatever.
[SPEAKER_02]: And he gets what what we're trying to say is that the assassins are more than just a trained killer.
[SPEAKER_02]: Mostly one of them.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, one of them just is.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but the thing is is that that is a big deal though because that's why you also have multiple of the templates.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, we're going to talk about now.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_02]: Let's dive into the temple stand.
[SPEAKER_02]: So as we covered the last one, after the incident with Goge, the assassin temples got scattered around the galaxy.
[SPEAKER_02]: The weird thing is the school of Virginia still brings everyone back to earth, but I assume once they arrive on earth, they just get shipped off to another station and that sucks.
[SPEAKER_00]: Also, the fact that the matter is, these are supposed to be secret temples, and they literally have a bus schedule that goes to each one.
[SPEAKER_00]: So they are the least secret temples.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's one of the things where you probably could uncover it, but it's one of those things where it's like, it's really easy to find out where they are, but if you try to find out where they were, you die instantly, so you know just to not try and find out.
[SPEAKER_00]: feel like I could look at the bus schedule, but if I grab a bus schedule, I instantly get this type of indicator just sitting where you pick up the bus schedule.
[SPEAKER_02]: But we're going to dive into here, though, is that the growth of the temple.
[SPEAKER_02]: So right now, four of them are playable in the game.
[SPEAKER_02]: Another three plus exists in the lore only because there are six temples, but there actually was a seventh furry hot minute.
[SPEAKER_02]: And it's annoying because one of these three doesn't exist.
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm just a warning now.
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to complain very shortly about one of the temples, not exist, because the models freaking awesome.
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't want to play some horrors here.
[SPEAKER_00]: See, based on that?
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I'm just going to, well, I'll be honest.
[SPEAKER_02]: I bought the models.
[SPEAKER_02]: So they're on their way.
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to paint them up anyway and have them.
[SPEAKER_02]: And then just... No, that's real stupid.
[SPEAKER_02]: The brains look cool.
[SPEAKER_00]: And so the dreadnoughts and horrors here seem like stupid.
[SPEAKER_00]: The brains look cool.
[SPEAKER_00]: The hatebeaks.
[SPEAKER_02]: So let's dive into the assassins themselves and we'll start with the one that you don't know about.
[SPEAKER_02]: We'll start with the one that the space marines are most afraid of.
[SPEAKER_02]: The Venetum assassin.
[SPEAKER_00]: You know what, I read these notes and then I forgot that you started.
[SPEAKER_00]: So we're going to why the space Marines are so, you know what, screw this.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'll have a conversation myself.
[SPEAKER_00]: Why are this face Marines so afraid of the venom of assassins?
[SPEAKER_00]: Because they specialize in poison and tax.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, they're thing.
[SPEAKER_02]: And they have poison, quite a few space Marines.
[SPEAKER_00]: Of course they do.
[SPEAKER_02]: This, that is actually their main thing.
[SPEAKER_02]: Probably the most.
[SPEAKER_00]: Why are they're the problem?
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, because they're mostly around during the horse heresy.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: I don't even have anything for that.
[SPEAKER_02]: It just annoys me.
[SPEAKER_02]: It doesn't annoy me.
[SPEAKER_02]: I've made it awesome.
[SPEAKER_02]: So the Venetna Massassen, which, by the way, worse name ever, they really, they went with V-E-N-E-N-U-N, Venetna for the Venetna Massassen.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's sort of Venetna Massassen.
[SPEAKER_02]: It would have been less work.
[SPEAKER_00]: The poison guys.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, poison.
[SPEAKER_02]: We have poison assassins.
[SPEAKER_02]: These guys, what they do is they, their masses at cultivating and growing poisons meant to do a kind of whole range of topics.
[SPEAKER_02]: And the range of topics is,
[SPEAKER_00]: kill things, but still effectively they have two things though because I want to go into this because one is that they have poisons that can overcome people with poison immunity or resistance because their poisons are so toxic.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's not hard to overcome it turns out those I should work in the first place.
[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm like, what would you die from bad berries?
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: So we took these oysters and we let them just sit out for a day and then we gave it to a space marine and they all died.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: It was just like, it was just old, old clams.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: So, but we're milk.
[SPEAKER_00]: But also, they are masters of making people die would look like natural causes when they want.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: They're one of the people that are supposed to be able to eliminate leadership without unrest.
[SPEAKER_02]: And the note I made here is that for those of you who remember our Nergal episode, this is what these guys are doing the same thing in their temple that Nergal is doing in his garden.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yep.
[SPEAKER_02]: There's I'm gonna make the moment.
[SPEAKER_02]: I guess I'm making plagues per se.
[SPEAKER_00]: The a hundred percent are developing.
[SPEAKER_00]: They're like, hey, you're not supposed to do this.
[SPEAKER_00]: We're like, we're not at all.
[SPEAKER_00]: And then you take the elevator to floor three.
[SPEAKER_00]: You're like, this is everything that's on the bandwidth.
[SPEAKER_00]: You're like,
[SPEAKER_00]: No, just don't look at that.
[SPEAKER_02]: Now I will be honest, there's only not much of a purpose to them if you think about it because every other assassin guild is the master of getting really close to a target and killing them.
[SPEAKER_02]: These guys have to get really close to a target, pour something in their drink and then get away.
[SPEAKER_02]: So, I mean, I guess they try to do them up a little bit with some of the stories where like for example, there was an assassin who was supposed to kill a planetary governor.
[SPEAKER_02]: Like the story went wildly off the rails.
[SPEAKER_00]: To be fair, they all do this and they talk about it a little bit in the stories that what they could do.
[SPEAKER_00]: And it's actually something that they would be better at.
[SPEAKER_00]: They're really good at killing off without destroying.
[SPEAKER_00]: They could kill in a populace without fucking up the infrastructure.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's a which they don't do in a lot of the stories.
[SPEAKER_02]: They talk about it.
[SPEAKER_00]: They talk about it, but they just, but they actually doing the stories is like, they could just kill everyone and just repopulate it and just have, you know, if a high world rebelled, they to these guys could actually just come in.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, puts in the water supply.
[SPEAKER_02]: Everyone's dead.
[SPEAKER_02]: And like, but the water supplies is then unpoliced in the law because they made the talks.
[SPEAKER_00]: Exactly.
[SPEAKER_02]: They never wrote that story once.
[SPEAKER_02]: The stories are like, guys snuck into the imperial, actually, okay, so I did like one of the assassins had to go deal with her belly and planetary governor.
[SPEAKER_02]: So what she did was she actually set up a poison trap in every single one of their chairs and then
[SPEAKER_02]: created like an event that forced a council meeting and then when they all sat down with the council meeting, they all died.
[SPEAKER_02]: So that was kind of cool.
[SPEAKER_02]: The other one that they can talk that they did, you know, the Brad's point about the specialties, they could also time their toxins.
[SPEAKER_02]: So they would poison you knowing when you would die.
[SPEAKER_02]: So they'll get somebody who's like on their way to dig a meat with somebody and then they would die right in front of that person, despite being poisoned like a week or two.
[SPEAKER_00]: They can also make it so that they poison everybody around that person.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: Now, as I said, they were, the model exists for Horace Harrisy.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's okay.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's not great, but it's okay model.
[SPEAKER_02]: And then they went away.
[SPEAKER_02]: This is largely because of the fact that you don't, they don't really make sense in Forty K. Warfare, which is exceptionally violent.
[SPEAKER_02]: This subtleties not there.
[SPEAKER_02]: But I was thinking about a way we could make a rule for them.
[SPEAKER_02]: So the challenge is that that style's kind of hard to play the tabletop unless GW wants to bring back the old that's a Malay talk rules.
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, for just a second, I'm gonna let you do this.
[SPEAKER_00]: But I need to do this.
[SPEAKER_00]: Boo.
[SPEAKER_00]: Bad John.
[SPEAKER_00]: This is a tell them your idea.
[SPEAKER_00]: This is a great idea.
[SPEAKER_00]: Boo.
[SPEAKER_02]: This is a great idea.
[SPEAKER_02]: If I have a venom assassin on a five plus before the game starts, I can kill one of your leaders.
[SPEAKER_02]: No more Lord for you.
[SPEAKER_02]: I want that rule.
[SPEAKER_02]: Just.
[SPEAKER_02]: If anyone in GW is listening feel free to release that rule.
[SPEAKER_02]: But after you release that rule, make sure none of the complaint emails come to you.
[SPEAKER_02]: Make sure it goes to us because that with this rule is a great idea.
[SPEAKER_02]: This rule is a great idea.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm the only person that has our email.
[SPEAKER_02]: One on top of GW made this rule and you work for GW and you wrote this rule, you make sure that there's no way.
[SPEAKER_02]: You think people were mad about this.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_02]: You think you're mad about the vote.
[SPEAKER_02]: And roll this one's worse.
[SPEAKER_02]: So anyway, from there, I'll move into the next one that doesn't have play, but has a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a
[SPEAKER_02]: Venice in hygothic apparently means empty, which by the way, I love and GW does that when they write in the book, oh, in hygothic, this word means empty.
[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, none of us speak hypothesis.
[SPEAKER_00]: They're using these guys though.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: And so the reason it's called empty is because their presence has always felt but never known.
[SPEAKER_02]: They are effectively the far seers of the assassins.
[SPEAKER_02]: The precox.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, they're the precox.
[SPEAKER_02]: But they're the precox.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's weird.
[SPEAKER_02]: I actually read a couple different codexes on this to make sure I got it right.
[SPEAKER_02]: They're not psychic, though.
[SPEAKER_02]: their, their Necron pre-cock, where they're just massive supercomputers that are able to process things.
[SPEAKER_02]: They actually call their cult info sites.
[SPEAKER_02]: Not the best name.
[SPEAKER_00]: They're basically, I mean, they're more cyberpunk or shadow.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: Very much so.
[SPEAKER_00]: They plug into supercomputers and they download insane amounts of information in from that information.
[SPEAKER_00]: They start making predictions.
[SPEAKER_00]: Super computer style of what's going to happen.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: The two descriptions I saw them that I liked the most were, they were the inverse of a servitor, where we're doing all this stuff you do for a servitor, we're just shutting it a bunch of computers.
[SPEAKER_02]: And this somebody, but instead of like using it to kind of remove their soul, it's the ops, it's actually to do them up, or if you like, add Mac, there's a super tech priest who's able to just run numbers at a level no one else can.
[SPEAKER_00]: For all the channels, there's out there.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's generous.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, but it was cool.
[SPEAKER_02]: It was cool.
[SPEAKER_02]: It was crap.
[SPEAKER_02]: I just, I'm just now I go play.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's the place.
[SPEAKER_00]: I have seven other players to play.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: I was going to say it wasn't that it's level.
[SPEAKER_02]: Saying it wasn't the commercial success as an insult to both those words.
[UNKNOWN]: True.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: Also the games, the video games also feel terrible.
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, yes.
[SPEAKER_02]: The idea was good.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's a cool setting.
[SPEAKER_02]: It is.
[SPEAKER_02]: But anyway,
[SPEAKER_02]: These guys do have the Hevehora's Heresy model.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's, again, they even have some rules, but even the rules are a stretch.
[SPEAKER_02]: And they're just because, honestly, the vanus assassin belongs in the lore.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's where it makes... Super awesome, the background.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's pre-game shit.
[SPEAKER_00]: If you're talking about the game itself, it's pre-game stuff.
[SPEAKER_00]: You learn things from Venice, and then you go to war.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, the Venice actually, but we were talking about my idea.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's when I roll the five plus to eliminate something.
[SPEAKER_02]: The Venice would be like, oh, yeah, you're home and get some a pre-game move.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's what that's, that's how Venice would know where you're going to be.
[SPEAKER_02]: Exactly.
[SPEAKER_02]: Venice are, the lore and them is nuts because what they're actually used for, primarily, is to support the other assassins, because every assassin mission is inherently secret.
[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, they to be a fair.
[SPEAKER_00]: I really think that the Vanna should be in my opinion of the law.
[SPEAKER_00]: Vanna should be the overarching people that tell the other citizens what to do.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, well, and it to some ways they do to a point.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but you're right.
[SPEAKER_00]: They provide information.
[SPEAKER_02]: I think they should be the ones giving the missions.
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, I completely agree.
[SPEAKER_02]: You think that's worth it.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's worth it.
[SPEAKER_00]: And go, this is a problem.
[SPEAKER_00]: We need to send EverStar account.
[SPEAKER_00]: We need, we need to, I have figured out what's going to happen.
[SPEAKER_00]: And we are going to stop it before it's time.
[SPEAKER_00]: And that's the whole point of the assassins is taking care of problems for the Imperium.
[SPEAKER_02]: They should be trying to do it.
[SPEAKER_02]: Instead, they kind of do it on the other, you're talking about them being above the other assassins.
[SPEAKER_02]: They're actually below them.
[SPEAKER_02]: What happens is the other tests are granted a mission and then it's the job of the vanist to help them figure out.
[SPEAKER_00]: They use them all the basics.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, it's it's very something like war of the potential roadblocks, war of the likelihoods of success, you know, who do you have to manipulate?
[SPEAKER_00]: Literally, you're your your support team that use them as
[SPEAKER_00]: support info, but I feel like these guys should be the instead of below, they should be above.
[SPEAKER_00]: In my opinion, I just don't understand in the lore how these guys aren't sending the other assassins out.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, they should be in charge of your community, right?
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, the other thing to is I also do laugh, come with the assassins.
[SPEAKER_02]: So this is the assassin group who have more knowledge than any other assassin group.
[SPEAKER_02]: I guarantee you, they want to murder ninety percent of the imperial leaders.
[SPEAKER_02]: They're just like, oh, shit.
[SPEAKER_02]: They get to see all of them and just conceive it and go, yeah, we're going to lose all of these words.
[SPEAKER_02]: They also should be more involved with Gilman.
[SPEAKER_02]: Like if you're talking about like taking on because the whole thing they talk about is they just use them for the assassin missions.
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm like, maybe these guys could figure out what the tyrannids are.
[SPEAKER_02]: Like what's a tyrannid battle plan?
[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, they could just look at the information and figure it out.
[SPEAKER_02]: Exactly.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's where they belong.
[SPEAKER_02]: But instead, they're used to kind of support.
[SPEAKER_01]: They should be full on Lord and in charge.
[SPEAKER_01]: We'll be right back after a quick break.
[SPEAKER_02]: Now we're going to go into the one that irritates me.
[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, they use the thing.
[SPEAKER_00]: One, why?
[SPEAKER_00]: Why?
[SPEAKER_00]: One more.
[SPEAKER_00]: Why?
[SPEAKER_00]: Is this not just the most sold model?
[SPEAKER_02]: And it looks awesome.
[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_02]: So this is the Adama's temple.
[SPEAKER_02]: Now, if you're wondering why we're so excited, it's because most people haven't seen it unless you happen to click into horror's heresy, the Adama's temple assassin is a ninja, just a full-blown eighty.
[SPEAKER_02]: Like they went
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, I'm so excited to pick this guy up.
[SPEAKER_02]: It is so badass.
[SPEAKER_02]: Not only does he look like an eighties ninja, but she W wrote him to be an eighties ninja.
[SPEAKER_02]: They are the swordsmen of the assassins.
[SPEAKER_02]: Their history is the oldest, like everything all this.
[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, like eleven century Hassan Isaba.
[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know who that is.
[SPEAKER_02]: Look it up.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's fun.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, like that's where they go.
[SPEAKER_02]: They are masters of melee combat and covert exercises.
[SPEAKER_02]: They stalk their prey for weeks, months, years.
[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, honestly, I don't care.
[SPEAKER_02]: They're ninjas.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's so cool.
[SPEAKER_02]: Assassin's Creed.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's ninjas.
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, nobody wins.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's Assassin's Creed dressed as eighties ninjas.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: The model is in a full blown eighties ninja.
[SPEAKER_02]: They come out of the darkness.
[SPEAKER_02]: They stabbed their opponent and they retreat back into the darkness.
[SPEAKER_02]: And they rock.
[SPEAKER_02]: Now I get it.
[SPEAKER_02]: They probably got replaced by the ever soar because it does the same thing.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but it does do it is cool.
[SPEAKER_02]: No, not at all.
[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, and if you have a certain nightmare,
[SPEAKER_00]: Ninja Assassin is fun and cool.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and it's also the GW.
[SPEAKER_00]: Also he's guys weirdly have full control of their regular dudes.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, although the funny thing on this is it's also rumored that their temple might not exist anymore.
[SPEAKER_02]: No one explains why, which I assume the ever source ate them.
[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
[SPEAKER_00]: They also went around him.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, because the truth is as cool as these guys are, is this because I was born in the eighties, but I was born in the seventies.
[SPEAKER_02]: We both kind of love this stuff.
[SPEAKER_02]: These are really, really good swordsmen in an era of last cannons.
[SPEAKER_00]: What?
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I mean, they also, they don't have the ability to just murder people with thought, which a couple of the other.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, the other ones are a hair, more powerful than they are.
[SPEAKER_00]: Ninja versus dude that just makes you die by being close to him.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, well, it's just they have a sword and a pistol, which is the exact same armament of the colladious and the ever sword.
[SPEAKER_02]: Except one of those can shape shift and the other one is the most powerful combat creature in the galaxy.
[SPEAKER_02]: But they don't look as cool.
[SPEAKER_02]: So I'm standing by the Adamus Temple.
[SPEAKER_02]: Just looks cool.
[SPEAKER_02]: So from there, I actually were going to jump the last one we're going to cover is what have been the seventh temple, but it didn't go great.
[SPEAKER_00]: This is stupid.
[SPEAKER_00]: This is all right.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's dumb.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's dumb, but the story is dumb, but I like the story a lot because I like the stories of when I'm like when ad mech try to do something and just blows up how planet and that's what this was.
[SPEAKER_02]: So
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, this is a great story.
[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know what you're talking about.
[SPEAKER_00]: They tried to chip people into being assassins.
[SPEAKER_02]: No, the mayorious tried to, it's worse than that.
[SPEAKER_02]: The mayorious temple decided that recruiting an assassin would just was too hard.
[SPEAKER_02]: We're going to genetically engineer them.
[SPEAKER_02]: All of them, all of what the third or fourth Jurassic Park movie, where we're just going to start adding random shit.
[SPEAKER_02]: So they decided to make a hybrid that was both, you know, they could kill an individual, but also could take out like an entire swath of enemies all at the same time.
[SPEAKER_02]: And the best way to do that would be to mix human mutant and Zeno DNA.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, now I do know I know this isn't possible.
[SPEAKER_02]: This is not possible for God.
[SPEAKER_00]: They tried to combine a bunch of DNA and then chip them.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, they're like, yeah, the South Super Dangerous and then we'll put a mind control chip in them.
[SPEAKER_02]: Obviously, my theory is that this probably came out.
[SPEAKER_02]: These guys came out like the nineties.
[SPEAKER_02]: It was about the area.
[SPEAKER_02]: So right the height of change.
[SPEAKER_02]: Ninja Turtles.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's what this was.
[SPEAKER_02]: This was two, this was Ninja Turtles.
[SPEAKER_00]: Heroes and a half shell.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's what this was.
[SPEAKER_02]: There we go.
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, we could totally generate energy.
[SPEAKER_02]: We could, we could mix humans and Xeno DNA.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm just saying this, this whole temple is so stupid.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's me.
[SPEAKER_02]: I just like the story because I like how the story ends as well.
[SPEAKER_02]: So anyway, they successfully pull it off one time with a assassin who's for some reason League and Strasse.
[SPEAKER_02]: So it's German for whatever reason we decided I was like when GW decides to add a new language to their repertoire and said it like we go English Celtic Latin Greek now we're adding a German League and Strasse which might I don't speak German maybe it translates.
[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know
[SPEAKER_02]: I hope it translates into Teenage Maintenance Journal.
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, that'd be really great.
[SPEAKER_02]: Anyway, so he this is this person was a mix of victims of female.
[SPEAKER_02]: She was a mix of human.
[SPEAKER_02]: They don't say what mutants.
[SPEAKER_02]: I think they need abhuman and tyrannid DNA.
[SPEAKER_00]: Because why not?
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it went so well.
[SPEAKER_02]: It went so it was perfect.
[SPEAKER_02]: Actually, no no problems.
[SPEAKER_02]: Anyway, League of Strauss realizes that she's the greatest being who's ever lived and it's just going to go and decide she's going to topple the Imperium and take it over.
[SPEAKER_02]: So everyone says, yeah, you can't do that.
[SPEAKER_02]: So then she flees some remote planet.
[SPEAKER_02]: The story here, there's a lot, but there are, this, this, the world's worst.
[SPEAKER_02]: This encompasses multiple books.
[SPEAKER_02]: So when I say we're going to do a long story short, oh, I'm under sawing that.
[SPEAKER_02]: The assassins guild she was from, the meoriest temple decides they have to go destroy the evidence of what they, of what they made.
[SPEAKER_02]: So they convinced demons and world leaders to attack the planet.
[SPEAKER_00]: By the way, why not?
[SPEAKER_02]: The planet was full of people.
[SPEAKER_02]: He was a human settlement.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, which then triggers the Imperium, who send the Imperial fists with Lysand.
[SPEAKER_00]: Or say they said, Lysand, which is a real deal.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, Lysand was he the current head of the office.
[SPEAKER_02]: This chapter has to tell me the Imperial Fest goes over there with them.
[SPEAKER_02]: He single-handedly kills League and stir-strasse after she wrecks a bunch of fists.
[SPEAKER_00]: So why summon a bunch of why?
[SPEAKER_02]: Why?
[SPEAKER_02]: No idea.
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I think it was planned.
[SPEAKER_02]: This is a sentence covering their tracks poorly.
[SPEAKER_02]: Like, well, it's just wrong.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's a simple doctor evil.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: Doctor evil had dark had better plans.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: It was a complete waste.
[SPEAKER_02]: But the part of the story I like is that afterwards, the imperial fists were super pissed off and they find out what had happened and just went back and they don't explicitly state the imperial fists wiped out this temple.
[SPEAKER_02]: They wiped out this temple completely and then the imperial fist went to last winter each other assassin killed and told them I'm not covering your shit.
[SPEAKER_02]: Don't ever do something like this
[SPEAKER_00]: And they all probably said, that's the dumbest shit.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, they're really bad.
[SPEAKER_02]: This is the easiest thing to agree to.
[SPEAKER_02]: So we're not going to mix tyranny in the end of one of us.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm still not going to stab myself in the face today.
[SPEAKER_00]: Anything else you want to tell me?
[SPEAKER_00]: Not part of my daily regiment.
[SPEAKER_02]: But I from there, let's jump into some of the actual playable assassins in the in Forty Kay.
[SPEAKER_02]: And we're going to go most normal to least normal.
[SPEAKER_00]: You know, I'm so angry that you made me talk about that.
[SPEAKER_00]: I like that.
[SPEAKER_00]: There's so terrible.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's so funny.
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, okay.
[SPEAKER_00]: A back to vindictus.
[SPEAKER_02]: Because it will make us seventh temple.
[SPEAKER_02]: vindictus my least favorite assassin though.
[SPEAKER_02]: Look at the most boring.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's why it's it's the vindicate.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's the least everything else is sci-fi.
[SPEAKER_02]: They're not like they're abilities are sci-fi, but they're not sci-fi.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's just a sniper.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's just a really, really good scenario.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's the best sniper to ever live.
[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, they are in the same levels of marksman.
[SPEAKER_02]: We can do all they like to have.
[SPEAKER_02]: They can shoot.
[SPEAKER_00]: I have, I'm going to pull this back in the game.
[SPEAKER_00]: They're my least favorite assassin in the lore.
[SPEAKER_00]: Vinda cares set up a series of events.
[SPEAKER_02]: They're your least favorite in the lore, too.
[SPEAKER_00]: Kind of, yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm just, I know you.
[SPEAKER_00]: But I'm saying, they are pretty cool.
[SPEAKER_00]: You want to say least favorite, it's still pretty cool.
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh yeah, they're all.
[SPEAKER_00]: The vindicare's will put a series of events together to get someone to sit in a chair on Tuesday afternoon and they shoot them through a vent.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: From five miles away.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: The only issue I have the vindicare is some of their stories get a little bit stupid about a vindicare sitting still for six years waiting for somebody.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's an actual story.
[SPEAKER_02]: No.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's a cool story.
[SPEAKER_00]: We're hammered plus.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to do you show the vindicare story is fantastic.
[SPEAKER_00]: They have a whole thing where again, he sets up an entire series of events for one person to be sitting in one spot.
[SPEAKER_00]: They can pick them off.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: And it's completely, they have no idea why they're there.
[SPEAKER_02]: So the issue and a browser before, I take a real issue when you try to take something sci-fi and then pretend that the laws of physics apply.
[SPEAKER_02]: And they do a bunch of these things.
[SPEAKER_02]: Like I said, the vending care sitting still in the exact same place for six years.
[SPEAKER_02]: The one that I love here is they, and this has written down in two codexes.
[SPEAKER_02]: they're able to slow their heart rate down, all the way down to one beat per minute, which my father teaches medical school, I know I have friends who are just cardiology, and friends who are cardiologists.
[SPEAKER_02]: Cardiologists have a good term for this.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's all that sees a cardiologist.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's dead.
[SPEAKER_02]: When your heart's beating at one beat per minute, the term we use for that is,
[SPEAKER_02]: dead because nothing else because your body wouldn't function.
[SPEAKER_02]: This is not.
[SPEAKER_02]: Do you know what seems.
[SPEAKER_02]: Jim seems to not listen what the heart does by the way, because it's the same way they were like, oh, they're heartbeat at twice of twice time, beats for a minute of normal, normal heart.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, Brad's does that sometimes.
[SPEAKER_00]: Things you take offense to are the most random.
[SPEAKER_00]: You're like demons exist this and that you're like one of our beats.
[SPEAKER_00]: Screw you.
[SPEAKER_02]: I have the things if they tried to explain to me the demons work because the way the modic my the way of mitochondria works here to you because then I get super mad.
[SPEAKER_02]: They just say there's an alternative to mention things live there on their evil.
[SPEAKER_02]: I can't argue with that.
[SPEAKER_02]: You know, but when they sit there and say the vindic hair is specially trained, he can lower his heart rate all the way down to one beat per minute.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's like, yeah, that would, you would die.
[SPEAKER_02]: Like, that's not, it's not like that Turkish shooter isn't he's calm, but he's still standing.
[SPEAKER_02]: You know, like, what are we talking about here?
[SPEAKER_00]: One of my favorites is the fact that
[SPEAKER_00]: The vindicare's James Bond wishes Q had as much shit.
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, the vindicare equipment is not cool.
[SPEAKER_02]: So, okay, let's have some fun.
[SPEAKER_00]: He has all, he's, he has James Bond level of stuff.
[SPEAKER_02]: He does.
[SPEAKER_02]: Unfortunately, we're going to start with Sinskin.
[SPEAKER_02]: So Sinskin, Sinskin, it's again, they tried to explain it, just leave it alone, they tried to explain it.
[SPEAKER_02]: So
[SPEAKER_02]: that all of the assassins have a suit that has nothing called sin skin in it.
[SPEAKER_02]: They're just varying levels of which one there is.
[SPEAKER_02]: Sin skin is special.
[SPEAKER_00]: What's the top thing it does?
[SPEAKER_00]: Make sure immune applies.
[SPEAKER_02]: It does do that, actually.
[SPEAKER_02]: It does.
[SPEAKER_02]: Since skin covers your whole body in a special membrane, it's why it was going to end just so it add, it becomes form fitting.
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to be honest, it was, I looked up when it came out.
[SPEAKER_02]: It first went to introduce the game in, in, nineteen eighty seven.
[SPEAKER_02]: So it's a little bit stupid and buy a little bit.
[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, exceptionally stupid because somehow it like you're immune to poison the vacuum of space.
[SPEAKER_02]: Apparently it will recycle carbon dioxide in the oxygen for you so you can be underwater or in space.
[SPEAKER_02]: Everyone, I'll have to say his nanotechnology.
[SPEAKER_02]: It is one hundred percent nanotechnology, but syndiscans.
[SPEAKER_02]: So the vindicare has been called syndiscan.
[SPEAKER_02]: Now all that, this is how the vindicare can sit really still, because theirs also has chameleonic print capabilities.
[SPEAKER_02]: So the, when there's syndicans, can't pick it up at all.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's not, this isn't like the predator where there's like a little bit of a shimmer.
[SPEAKER_02]: He's gone.
[SPEAKER_02]: You could actually walk into him and not know he was there.
[SPEAKER_02]: He's that well blended into the surroundings.
[SPEAKER_02]: So that part's actually pretty cool and that's how they're able to set themselves up where they don't have to, they could understand that a crowd, for example, but they could hang off of the building or a pipe.
[SPEAKER_02]: In some cases, they're hang upside down for weeks on end because of their low heart rate.
[SPEAKER_02]: Gravity apparently also doesn't apply.
[SPEAKER_02]: If they're coming, it just plays pretty awesome though.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that's going to the helmet.
[SPEAKER_02]: Their helmet makes the space marine helmet look like a kid's toy.
[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, they can see, there's a space marine, every medium, normal, night vision, thermal, everything.
[SPEAKER_02]: But it actually has a better readout.
[SPEAKER_02]: Wind, because they're going to shoot a bullet pretty damn far.
[SPEAKER_02]: The pressure system, so they can actually see, so they can actually see the potential trajectory of any bullet they're going to fire.
[SPEAKER_00]: So you're saying night fight doesn't apply to them?
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, not them, not space marines.
[SPEAKER_02]: I do love that night, fight a plight of space marines and guard equally.
[SPEAKER_00]: But they have one of the things they talk about, and I don't know if this is canon, but they supposedly, with their helmet, can see into, they can detect the work.
[SPEAKER_00]: They can't really see into the work.
[SPEAKER_02]: But they get into the work's presence.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: Because you can't, the whole thing is that you're not supposed to hide from them.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and so I might be there how it might actually be a little see into the work a little bit just a kind of see thing behind walls.
[SPEAKER_00]: So I really make it like a life essence kind of thing.
[SPEAKER_02]: But one of my favorite parts about them is actually their rifle, which is the X's rifle, which carries special rounds.
[SPEAKER_02]: So every single vindicar is sent on a mission.
[SPEAKER_02]: They've got their rifle, which has a bunch of standard bullets in it, but then I don't know why, but they do.
[SPEAKER_02]: They carry three special rounds, just one of each, because the vindicaris are supposed to only be sent after one target.
[SPEAKER_00]: I know, but like you just send them with a more than a bullet.
[SPEAKER_02]: How about a backpack?
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: Anyway, but the three rounds are cool as hell.
[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, the shield breaker round is also, yeah, I'm using that one all the time.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, you should make more of these.
[SPEAKER_02]: The shield breaker on you shoot it.
[SPEAKER_02]: And as it as it's going through, it detects out the front of a force field.
[SPEAKER_02]: If it detects a force field in front of it, it actually shoots energy in front of it to blow.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's a tiny hole in that force field.
[SPEAKER_02]: So the bullet goes through.
[SPEAKER_02]: And remember, most of the things that have like a force shield around them are not doing that with an armor on the inside.
[SPEAKER_02]: So this basically does is removes your armor, then hits you with a giant bullet.
[SPEAKER_02]: So that's pretty effective.
[SPEAKER_02]: The next one they have is actually one of my favorite, which is the Hellfire round, which they did for a while, give these a death watch.
[SPEAKER_02]: Remember that fun period of two ohs, baby.
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, to everything.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: That sucked.
[SPEAKER_00]: So they held fire for a while with devs.
[SPEAKER_02]: With devs.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's like it was on mortal wounds.
[SPEAKER_02]: So the hell fire around is actually made to fight tear in it.
[SPEAKER_02]: It is an acid poison hybrid round.
[SPEAKER_02]: So also working space Marines.
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, let's go back to this.
[SPEAKER_00]: Why?
[SPEAKER_00]: Why is this around?
[SPEAKER_00]: Because this round effectively explodes and then explodes again because it has a effectively worldly dearly state
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, it's got a thousand little needles full of toxin inside of the bullet.
[SPEAKER_00]: In the whole reason, his turn is regenerated and they needed something to do damage and then continue to damage to stop the regeneration of the tar at the end.
[SPEAKER_02]: as we have, it goes in, the bullet explodes, these thousand, I don't know how is a thousand, and they're, but whatever, thousand micro needles pop out with a toxin inside, and then sort of spreading the toxin all throughout the being.
[SPEAKER_02]: It actually disintegrates them.
[SPEAKER_02]: So when we say toxin, I don't mean the poison that like, you know, the space Marines go down to.
[SPEAKER_02]: This is more of a, this is an acid that actually, it's so much.
[SPEAKER_00]: This is the poison.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, this actually eats them from the inside.
[SPEAKER_02]: So they're very effective against tyrannids.
[SPEAKER_02]: They use them heavily into things.
[SPEAKER_02]: So it's funny.
[SPEAKER_02]: Most of these are actually used for tyrannids because the shield break around is used against Zoanthropes.
[SPEAKER_02]: And then the hellfire around is used pretty heavily into things like hive tyrants, swarm, the swarm order to be shows shows up or even a carnifix.
[SPEAKER_02]: The last one that we're going to cover, the turbo penetrator around.
[SPEAKER_00]: The coolest of the rounds by the way.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's, you know what, you know, you didn't have the excitement in your voice.
[SPEAKER_00]: I am going to tell everybody what a terrible kind of track around this.
[SPEAKER_00]: Go.
[SPEAKER_00]: You know what a tankbuster missile is?
[SPEAKER_00]: They do that in a bullet.
[SPEAKER_00]: And it's awesome.
[SPEAKER_00]: If you don't think it's awesome, looking at you, John, you're wrong.
[SPEAKER_02]: I just think it should be cooler.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's kind of my thing.
[SPEAKER_00]: So if you think the tankbuster missile into a sniper rifle isn't cool enough because
[SPEAKER_02]: the one that actually eats a tear from the inside out's cooler.
[SPEAKER_02]: This dude shoots people in bunkers.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's true.
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, okay, let me rephrase it.
[SPEAKER_00]: A guy in it.
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think it's greener.
[SPEAKER_00]: He's sniped a guy in one of the seats.
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, yeah, that's where I guess my issue is more.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's on the tabletop.
[SPEAKER_02]: This round does nothing.
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh absolutely there's nothing.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm saying you're so serious.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, this should allow me and again because I'm I'm using the assassin episode.
[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, I spoiler.
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm building a I'm just like a period of army right now.
[SPEAKER_02]: So I do want a bunch of new rules for assassins just so it's broken.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's hell and everyone hates me.
[SPEAKER_02]: So I would like for my vinda care to be able to shoot embarked units.
[SPEAKER_02]: This is, yes, actually.
[SPEAKER_02]: Which, by the way, tell me how that wouldn't make sense.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's also, sure.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I should be able to say, oh, yeah, what's in that truck right there, you know, or what's in that land, Raider, my captain, cool.
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm shooting your captain in the face.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, in the face, he's dead by the way.
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm actually executing your captain.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's all I'm saying, the term of penetrating around.
[SPEAKER_02]: It just should be, it just should be better.
[SPEAKER_02]: In the lore, vindicators are actually probably one of the more prevalent in the stories.
[SPEAKER_00]: This is the easiest to write about because they're also not difficult to write the story about.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's a sniper.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's pretty easy.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's fairly, you can encompass this guy into a lot of stories because, well,
[SPEAKER_00]: You don't have to make up weird stuff as a sniper.
[SPEAKER_02]: And I like covering your stories because it kind of helps you for people who don't really read the lore that much on isn't how it insane these guys were.
[SPEAKER_02]: So one of my favorites was the one who is sent to kill a jucari pilot.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, the final.
[SPEAKER_02]: Now, this is the stupid one related for six years.
[SPEAKER_02]: So we'll skip that part of it and go through.
[SPEAKER_02]: This is, we say Drew Carrey Pilate, we're talking about a Drew Carrey who are the, probably the fastest moving being in the galaxy, flying their craft, which are the fast moving craft in the galaxy.
[SPEAKER_02]: And this guy shot one through the cockpit with a turbopeller while he was at full speed.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's cool.
[SPEAKER_02]: They've got aim.
[SPEAKER_02]: The other one, though, was the one who took out an entire Eldar advance.
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, he, he took out the advance because elder value elder and they especially value their higher ups.
[SPEAKER_00]: And this dude was sniping everybody with a big hat.
[SPEAKER_02]: He took out multiple X arcs and warlocks.
[SPEAKER_02]: And my favorite part of this story is that the elder then decided the new worry was he was in a tower so they brought support weapons over to blow the tower up and he just shot everyone who was going to operate that support weapon.
[SPEAKER_02]: So then the elder when we'll screw you we're sending our scouts in and with the scouts got there it was fully booby trapped and during the explosion he then escaped.
[SPEAKER_02]: So, vindicate, I like to kick out the shows.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, he can shoot, but he's also outsmarted, Eldar Rangers, and was able to escape in an explosion, and get Alla James Bond.
[SPEAKER_02]: So, I like the vindicate.
[SPEAKER_02]: I just want the rules to be better.
[SPEAKER_02]: I wanted to be more devastating, which no one else wants.
[SPEAKER_02]: I hate them on the board.
[SPEAKER_02]: I really like them in the Lord.
[SPEAKER_02]: You're incredible in the Lord.
[SPEAKER_02]: I just want them back.
[SPEAKER_00]: The Lord is very fun, but the game, it's a dude that shoots once and it burned it just.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's fair.
[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think you're wrong.
[SPEAKER_02]: I just still like him a lot.
[SPEAKER_01]: We'll be right back after a quick break.
[SPEAKER_02]: Now I'll move on to
[SPEAKER_02]: Ooh, the Caletus.
[SPEAKER_00]: Also people that used to have the Lord's always been great.
[SPEAKER_00]: In the game, the rules used.
[SPEAKER_00]: Rules are fine right now.
[SPEAKER_00]: But they had to rough ones for Caletus.
[SPEAKER_00]: No, I'm saying back and forth.
[SPEAKER_02]: Also, if you guys are looking to build Caletus, I'm just going to say it's going to cost you a lot more.
[SPEAKER_02]: And I almost never say this.
[SPEAKER_02]: Get the metal one.
[SPEAKER_02]: The new one is super tall and super thin and made of plastic.
[SPEAKER_02]: It will break.
[SPEAKER_00]: You go back not to the total to fit in your phone.
[SPEAKER_02]: Exactly.
[SPEAKER_02]: Not the first one.
[SPEAKER_02]: The second iterations, what I, it's actually what I have.
[SPEAKER_02]: I love it.
[SPEAKER_02]: I looked them up.
[SPEAKER_02]: You'll see there's three versions of it.
[SPEAKER_02]: It is the top of the line one.
[SPEAKER_02]: So usually I don't recommend metal.
[SPEAKER_02]: In the case of Caledus, I actually do.
[SPEAKER_00]: So Caledus are shape shifting assassins.
[SPEAKER_00]: They're old-ruled.
[SPEAKER_00]: Caledus are fantastic.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, but we're talking about what they are first.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: So they are, the Caledus are maybe the most feared assassin in the galaxy because they're the most, I think true to form assassin.
[SPEAKER_02]: They, they strike from anywhere because they actually shape shift.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, Paulie Morphin's a hell of a drug.
[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, it's literally.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, Paulie Morphin.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that's what they went with from a naming.
[SPEAKER_02]: Paulie Morphin.
[SPEAKER_02]: This was one of those.
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not gonna try today, guys.
[SPEAKER_02]: Let you w. This is the, um, uh, juice from a hay potter.
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, no, I was going to go with the Mitch headburg where you have to get the guy who has the name things.
[SPEAKER_02]: What's that?
[SPEAKER_02]: That's a freezer.
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going on break.
[SPEAKER_00]: I have to bring it up to the rule though, because remember when they had word in the emperors word in the air?
[SPEAKER_00]: Like people bring Caledus all the time.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, because the Caledus, the Caledus in the lower can actually can change shape and not just small change shape.
[SPEAKER_02]: It can actually like they can look like an orc.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's not massively changed.
[SPEAKER_02]: Like you couldn't go from a human to a war boss, but if you're a small Caledus, you could impress, you could impress, you could impress.
[SPEAKER_00]: Just all of a sudden, you know,
[SPEAKER_00]: kill his way up the chart.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: And goes, I'm now in charge of this particular fleet.
[SPEAKER_00]: And says we should move here.
[SPEAKER_02]: But Caledus is our, I mean, that this polymorphine gives him the ability to shape shift completely.
[SPEAKER_02]: And
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, one question is, how do you learn language?
[SPEAKER_02]: Tell whatever.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's probably pretty easy.
[SPEAKER_02]: The impersonate that wouldn't be hard.
[SPEAKER_02]: But an elder.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: But the impersonating an elder would be kind of tough because you don't action.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's not even the language.
[SPEAKER_02]: You couldn't do action in the movements.
[SPEAKER_02]: Exactly.
[SPEAKER_02]: Or trying to look like an orch.
[SPEAKER_02]: although which they actually did do.
[SPEAKER_02]: So I just rose.
[SPEAKER_02]: I said that and like they did it.
[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, or sorry, it's that's true.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: But anyway, we'll move moving moving on from from my mistake.
[SPEAKER_02]: You know, let's let's brush over that.
[SPEAKER_02]: The cowardice does use this, but they do is they use this ability to position themselves usually within the right right noon retune right now.
[SPEAKER_02]: right now usually use it to put this themselves within the retina of their targets and they could be doing this for a while like a weeks months getting closer and closer joke about the the press secretary yeah the press secretary it's like it's just the they legitimately will hold a job
[SPEAKER_02]: boring why I'm getting close and just being the best that anyone's ever seen and then suddenly committing murder.
[SPEAKER_02]: So let's talk about how they're able to do this because the first one is their their suit itself.
[SPEAKER_02]: So they've got this like
[SPEAKER_02]: super spandex, which made me think of the nutty professor with any Murphy for some reason.
[SPEAKER_02]: When I was writing this, but anyway, so the idea is as a college shifts in changes to suit does it with them, which gives them two tricks here.
[SPEAKER_02]: One, it allows them to get really close to their target, obviously.
[SPEAKER_02]: But it also allows them in kind of the aftermath of the murder to shift a get.
[SPEAKER_02]: So they could look like the press secretary we talked about earlier and then shift to like, you know, Ted from accounting and run out the building.
[SPEAKER_02]: And it was just the janitor and they just dissapear.
[SPEAKER_00]: And I was not thinking of the Incredibles and Edna for their super suit.
[SPEAKER_00]: Why are you not?
[SPEAKER_02]: It's not that way much better, right?
[SPEAKER_02]: I probably, I'm just, it always fits.
[SPEAKER_02]: It does always fit, you're right, and they don't have capes.
[SPEAKER_02]: So yeah, too for two.
[SPEAKER_02]: So the next one I do like is they have this weapon called a neural shredder, which does the table top just young.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: There's nothing for the how amazing this thing.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, also a shitty way to die.
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, the neural shredder just turns your brain into soup.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's what it does.
[SPEAKER_02]: And they carry this pistol with them.
[SPEAKER_02]: It doesn't have a tabletop.
[SPEAKER_02]: I wish it did.
[SPEAKER_02]: This is really critical because what it does is it actually eliminates memories.
[SPEAKER_02]: And so as we've discussed in the past, both tau or the crude and space marines never do this can eat someone and get their memories.
[SPEAKER_00]: This can't because they just make you.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, there's no memory to grab.
[SPEAKER_00]: They just crush your head.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, you're, you're, while you're staying there, your brain turns to soup and you collapse.
[SPEAKER_02]: Really good trick for an infiltrating assassin who maybe gets found out, being able to, to not only kill who found them out, but also remove anyone's ability to ever know they were found out.
[SPEAKER_02]: It is a big deal.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: Gems all on.
[SPEAKER_00]: Sorry, I, I melted down for just a second.
[SPEAKER_00]: because third is their face sword, which used to be so much cooler.
[SPEAKER_02]: Face sword used to be devastating, and it should be face sword.
[SPEAKER_02]: Phase thorns are awesome.
[SPEAKER_02]: So it's actually a necron weapon that was converted over for the call it is.
[SPEAKER_02]: It is so worth a power sword is just a sword that they just choose to make like an energy field that makes it sharper.
[SPEAKER_02]: The phase sword does what it sounds like it phases in and out of existence nor is your army or your army.
[SPEAKER_00]: You're it ignores your armor and cuts directly through you.
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, that's how it does in the table.
[SPEAKER_02]: What he actually does is it faces out of existence and then as you're halfway through it faces into existence.
[SPEAKER_02]: So now it's inside the armor inside of you kills you and then faces back out as you come through.
[SPEAKER_02]: So you're able to just slice and dice something like a term.
[SPEAKER_02]: This is one of the few times that someone should be able to kill a terminator and it's not doesn't break the law.
[SPEAKER_00]: is used to ignore involves.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, because there was, again, it went, hey, cool.
[SPEAKER_00]: Shield, I don't exist.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm now cutting through.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's not like involves and carried a massive amount of AP.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it was AP enough where you needed an involved and then you didn't get it in.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: So it didn't matter.
[SPEAKER_02]: They're very cool.
[SPEAKER_02]: The fourth one they do have though is actually more hilarious to me, which they're Joker coverage.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, they carry, well, it's worse that it's, it's, they call it the death card.
[SPEAKER_02]: What it happens is, I guess,
[SPEAKER_02]: their helmet records the death as they kill someone and then stores it on a little card or it's a coin they leave on the victim and when someone finds the coin it just plays on an endless loop with audio in full HD the person's dying screen as they remembered by the assassin.
[SPEAKER_00]: There's no reason for this, but none whatsoever.
[SPEAKER_02]: They just add this into the lore, and I'm like, yeah, I believe in that man.
[SPEAKER_00]: I killed your leader also.
[SPEAKER_00]: Screw you.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and I read it and I was like, yeah, I'm leaving that in.
[SPEAKER_02]: So...
[SPEAKER_02]: Now, just like the vinda care, the calis is skipping my place.
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, you're so mad about this one.
[SPEAKER_02]: Place a very heavily in in the lore in the stories and there's two main stories.
[SPEAKER_02]: One's the big one.
[SPEAKER_02]: Conrad curves.
[SPEAKER_02]: Not Conrad crews and people, so here's what I think guys, people pointed out to me in the discord.
[SPEAKER_02]: Hey, why is it going to keep saying Conrad Cruz?
[SPEAKER_02]: Like, like, time cruises.
[SPEAKER_02]: Is there a joke I'm not getting?
[SPEAKER_02]: Am I response was?
[SPEAKER_02]: Nope.
[SPEAKER_02]: I just read it wrong this many times.
[SPEAKER_02]: Like, I didn't know until someone pointed it out that it was hers.
[SPEAKER_02]: I've read that word.
[SPEAKER_02]: Thousand times.
[SPEAKER_00]: Twenty five, whatever.
[SPEAKER_00]: Thirty years ago when I started reading Forty K War.
[SPEAKER_00]: I read his name wrong once and just went, nope, that's what it is forever.
[SPEAKER_02]: So for all of you weep and infuriating, by calling him Conrad Cruz, sorry, no guaranteed will stop.
[SPEAKER_02]: So anyway, M Shen, hate that name, stalk Conrad during the Conrad as a parial palace and actually killed the Primark.
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm saying that really quickly because that we had a noise, Brad.
[SPEAKER_00]: I really, I want everyone to know that I'm giving the double bird to the screen.
[SPEAKER_00]: We're reading off of right now because this is so annoying because he's so cool, so crazy, but also so stupid about things.
[SPEAKER_00]: This assassin should have gotten snuffed out instantaneously.
[SPEAKER_00]: But the old Conrad decided he saw it in his future so he just had to let it happen because he already saw it.
[SPEAKER_02]: get his fair.
[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, the cow does technically kill Conrad curves, but doesn't really.
[SPEAKER_02]: He sits on the chair and watches watches her get closer.
[SPEAKER_02]: Like I have this vision of her like, I'm for like, sneaking around the room, hiding behind.
[SPEAKER_02]: And he's just, he's just sitting there waiting.
[SPEAKER_02]: Like, can you just hurry up and do it?
[SPEAKER_02]: Like, it's just I'm just I'm ready.
[SPEAKER_00]: Come on.
[SPEAKER_00]: He gives a speech before he gets killed.
[SPEAKER_00]: About how I knew that this was going to happen, because I knew my dad would turn against me and kill me.
[SPEAKER_02]: And you're like, and the cowardice is still just like sneaking around, bugs, bunny styles, they're out there.
[SPEAKER_02]: It bothers me so much.
[SPEAKER_00]: So anyway, I knew I was going to get killed.
[SPEAKER_00]: So I can't do anything about it because it was destiny.
[SPEAKER_00]: You're like, or you could just
[SPEAKER_00]: murdering the assassins.
[SPEAKER_02]: Let's have more of a fun one.
[SPEAKER_02]: There's another cowardice who is actually pretty small and there was an issue with the orcs.
[SPEAKER_02]: So the orcs were fighting space marines and they were using primarily walkers.
[SPEAKER_02]: So she actually used her shapeshifting ability the polymorphine to turn into what was probably a large Gretchen.
[SPEAKER_02]: This is actually pretty funny.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, she just as a Gretchen ends up climbing into the death thread that will save mech is hiding.
[SPEAKER_00]: and possibly excited at the same time.
[SPEAKER_00]: Because you're like, this is the best death of Gretchen's ever had.
[SPEAKER_00]: That was targeted by assassination.
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, that's true.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that she did assassinate a Gretchen so that she could then take his place.
[SPEAKER_02]: And she sneaks in and then while the big Mac is leading the death dread, she shifts back in her normal size, breaks out her phase sword.
[SPEAKER_02]: And it actually takes her a while, but does hack the big Mac into tiny pieces inside of his death dread.
[SPEAKER_02]: So, Caledus is kind of badass.
[SPEAKER_02]: Those are just the funs of them fighting non-humans.
[SPEAKER_02]: In reality, there's tons of stories of them just like imperial governors just dying as their wife kills them.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, like wife killing, taking control of enemy fleets, taking control of
[SPEAKER_00]: and any big troop movements to stuff like that.
[SPEAKER_00]: The catalyst is storyline wildly awesome as far as just with now, you know, things you can write about them, it's so cool.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, because the cowardice is to me, it's the most like, it's the most sci-fi traditional assassin because it's because of shapeshifting.
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, it's shapeshifting, but like you have to talk your way into things.
[SPEAKER_00]: Exactly.
[SPEAKER_00]: You're you're taking the place of the governor.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's like mission impossible shit.
[SPEAKER_00]: You have the mask on and you're
[SPEAKER_00]: You're making things happening.
[SPEAKER_00]: You're trying to make your get away.
[SPEAKER_02]: And they're all soaked.
[SPEAKER_02]: And they're, they're, they're also insanely athletic.
[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, that's the idea is they are insane.
[SPEAKER_00]: You're, you're basically going, hey, we, we can have Tom Cruise play a cowardice right now.
[SPEAKER_02]: These two short.
[SPEAKER_00]: Whoa, whoa, whoa, I take effect.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'll put on some bliffs.
[SPEAKER_02]: I think way.
[SPEAKER_02]: So now let's start the dark path of assassins with the co-axis.
[SPEAKER_02]: The dark path?
[SPEAKER_02]: We guess, darker.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I mean, yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: Sorry, my bad, my bad.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it gets a lot darker.
[SPEAKER_02]: So the co-axis are the anti-cycur assassin.
[SPEAKER_00]: And when we say getting dark, we went with tool.
[SPEAKER_00]: You could make movies about the first two assassins.
[SPEAKER_00]: All right.
[SPEAKER_00]: The first two game playable assassins.
[SPEAKER_00]: Now, we talked about, these are not movies people are making unless you want to terrifying your audience.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: So the co-lexus, so as we talked about, there's this is a silence.
[SPEAKER_02]: There is a gene called the periaging, which makes, it makes you anywhere from invisible to the warp all the way up through being what is effectively a black hole of warp energy.
[SPEAKER_02]: The co-lexus are only the latter part.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, let's say your mere presence can actually kill minor psychers.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: And so obviously, when they discover someone with the extreme version of the prior gene, they make them to collect the assassins.
[SPEAKER_02]: And by discover, they don't discover them.
[SPEAKER_02]: They're that grown.
[SPEAKER_02]: This is that the collect the assassins are
[SPEAKER_02]: a created assassin because this.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I mean, there was there was one person and then they went like, and then they went full blown phobias bio and just like, I just turned this up to a thousand.
[SPEAKER_00]: We barely find any of these people.
[SPEAKER_00]: So we should just make them.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: So the my favorite part about the collections is their pariah gene is so strong that they had to put them on a special planet when they moved the temple and the planet
[SPEAKER_02]: is listed as having no son, which is also as an asteroid.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's orbiting nothing.
[SPEAKER_00]: They can't have a run people.
[SPEAKER_00]: We talk about they, oh, no, if you're a psycher around a perigene, a collective, which is would be the strongest of them.
[SPEAKER_00]: regular people also, you're the stuff of nightmares to them, you just don't die from.
[SPEAKER_02]: But you will go insane being on the shirt.
[SPEAKER_02]: The other one, no, I love is that this temple of them, because we've got a temple where there are thousands, tens of thousands of them.
[SPEAKER_02]: It has to be put in a position so that no one is ever between the astronomicon.
[SPEAKER_02]: Because it's power, it's black power is so severe.
[SPEAKER_02]: It would actually obscure the astronomicon from the ships.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's how powerful this is.
[SPEAKER_02]: These guys are nuts.
[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, the sisters of silence are adorable compared to these things.
[SPEAKER_02]: It is... What are the elder?
[SPEAKER_00]: I call them.
[SPEAKER_02]: What's right?
[SPEAKER_02]: The two people, the two both two people.
[SPEAKER_02]: The two things are hate, and the most are demons, and the elder refer them as pure evil.
[SPEAKER_00]: Elder thinks that these basically are demons.
[SPEAKER_00]: I think that they might think of lower than demons.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, the elder have waged campaigns to go find the temple of the co-axis to destroy it.
[SPEAKER_02]: They are obsessed with removing these things.
[SPEAKER_02]: Because
[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, it makes sense for you to think about it.
[SPEAKER_00]: And it's the anti what they are.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, exactly.
[SPEAKER_02]: And Eldar, in the presence of one of these would die.
[SPEAKER_02]: And I actually don't know if it's soul could get this limesh.
[SPEAKER_00]: I think that you don't, you were so wouldn't even work in the spirit stone.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: It would just stop everything.
[SPEAKER_00]: You would cease to exist.
[SPEAKER_02]: They are.
[SPEAKER_00]: And the demons actually, they don't don't just listen to the game.
[SPEAKER_00]: In lore, a coluxis can just semi-holted demonic incursion.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: because it just ceases to you.
[SPEAKER_00]: See staff connection.
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, a lesser demons wouldn't a lesser demon would not be able to strike a collapses.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it would send in a unit of bloodletters and all of them would just go.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, there would be sent back in the warp.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, we talk a lot about in this cast about like tabletop versus lower rules.
[SPEAKER_02]: If you gave assassins, forty percent of the rules they should have in the tabletop, people would hate you.
[UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: I play demons.
[SPEAKER_02]: I have one model.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: I have this one model.
[SPEAKER_00]: You want to shake hands?
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: Your entire army just ceases the function.
[SPEAKER_00]: But the doesn't sound fair.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's not just you can't attack me.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: If my model was in six inches of your model, your model has to leave the board.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yep.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: And it's a big deal.
[SPEAKER_00]: And they have the sponsor nightmare to get to where they are, though, is a lot of torture.
[SPEAKER_02]: Is it going, it's, they are a lot of torture.
[SPEAKER_02]: They are made from just, they take this pariah jene and these beings have a hatred of warp entities and psychers that
[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, world-eaters are actually a cooler.
[SPEAKER_02]: The test-sikers and these things are.
[SPEAKER_02]: But let's talk about my favorite part about them, which is actually their equipment.
[SPEAKER_02]: So first off, they also have a sense can suit, but for some reason, they were given the one that can phase in and out of reality.
[SPEAKER_02]: It feels like everyone should have had this one by the way.
[SPEAKER_02]: So everyone else, as we said, the Vindicare version of the suit allows it to camouflage really well.
[SPEAKER_02]: The colladious is one, helps it, it actually shifts and adjusts shape with them.
[SPEAKER_02]: The co-axis is one goes in and out of the warp, so they can walk through walls.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: Feels like that's the one you get every assassin.
[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, there's an X-Men with that power sound.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: It might be pretty good.
[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: They literally enter a little bit of the warp and then walk between the immiterium and the material, and then appear on the other side.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, also they're equipped with a very specialized grenade.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's also a dick move.
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, the Psycho grenades cool is hell.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but it's also a cyber.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, but I'm saying it's so wild.
[SPEAKER_02]: And these things in the lore, whenever they write in the lore about someone using a Psycho grenade, it is insane levels of devastation.
[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think I've ever seen one use a tabletop effectively.
[SPEAKER_00]: Fifth edition, you can use it.
[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, fair enough.
[SPEAKER_00]: Secret grenades are actually really good in fifth and with green heights for a big deal because they're all psychers.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's always funny when they were like when the Imperium weapon works against the Imperium model happens all the time.
[SPEAKER_02]: But anyway, all right.
[SPEAKER_02]: So what what this is is it's all right.
[SPEAKER_02]: I enjoyed this.
[SPEAKER_02]: It is a flashbang made up of what they call a my product.
[SPEAKER_00]: Whoa.
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, no flashbang that I don't know that sucks your soul on a video.
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, that's because what is made of.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's made of and this is what they call it a byproduct.
[SPEAKER_02]: An an air quotes here of the emperor's golden throne.
[SPEAKER_02]: All known as the ashes of all those psychers that just got sacrificed to the emperor.
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm throwing you a grenade of that when it explodes, it does give off a flash and a bang.
[SPEAKER_02]: Sure.
[SPEAKER_00]: And then it turns never flashbang of man that really hurt my head and I had to take some Tylenol later.
[SPEAKER_00]: Not as awful as what happened after the flashbang.
[SPEAKER_00]: It sucked to my soul.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's the best it would happen to you if I hit you with a flashbang.
[SPEAKER_02]: between your migraines and stuff.
[SPEAKER_02]: I think actually, that's, well, Brad's gone.
[SPEAKER_02]: I would give you my soul.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_02]: So when this thing goes off, it creates a black hole of warp energy.
[SPEAKER_02]: So any warp energy that's nearby gets sucked into it.
[SPEAKER_02]: If you take someone who's actually very, particularly attuned, that means that all the connections in their body that are, in fact, that they're cells together,
[SPEAKER_02]: all disappear.
[SPEAKER_02]: There's stories of other people tracing into a blob of mush.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's like when this thing goes off.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it just melts.
[SPEAKER_02]: It melts them and the fight these, but the reason these things are so cool is if you throw it and let's say there's like a siker amongst a bunch.
[SPEAKER_02]: It was like killing a bunch of regular soldiers.
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, I can't blow up and everyone around it would just go, hey man, that was kind of loud.
[SPEAKER_02]: Hey, where's the guy I was just fighting?
[SPEAKER_02]: And they just look down as a puddle on the floor.
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, those seem effective.
[SPEAKER_00]: Should we talk about their giant paper machine had?
[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: So the helmet on them looks super stupid and it just does.
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm sorry.
[SPEAKER_02]: It looks like it looks legendary.
[SPEAKER_02]: It looks like it looks like neck pain.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's what it looks like.
[SPEAKER_00]: It looks like just romically large.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: They have a parade ahead.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: You know, I mean, a giant head.
[SPEAKER_02]: on a tiny little body.
[SPEAKER_02]: That little body, this is the giant skull.
[SPEAKER_02]: What it does is, what it does is cool, though.
[SPEAKER_02]: So it's, it's, it looks stupid to shit.
[SPEAKER_02]: But what it does is cool is shit.
[SPEAKER_02]: So what it is, this giant helmet actually is able to
[SPEAKER_02]: can tort and control the pariah genes.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's probably only comes out of their heads somehow, whatever.
[SPEAKER_02]: Not important.
[SPEAKER_02]: Totally important.
[SPEAKER_02]: This is poor writing, but anyway, what it allows me is they can actually turn down their blank effect.
[SPEAKER_02]: So it'll this allows them to be in the presence, not necessarily a powerful cycle is, but at least have normal people and not just drive them all insane.
[SPEAKER_02]: They can turn them, they can control and turn down their pariah gene.
[SPEAKER_00]: But they can also.
[SPEAKER_02]: They can also turn to eleven and they have a focus beam out the front of it so they can actually effectively shoot.
[SPEAKER_02]: their prior gene energy out their skull into something.
[SPEAKER_00]: Depending on, they can use the cypress against them, which is one of my favorite rules that they used to have is you got to have more shots based on the cypress.
[SPEAKER_00]: I also like because you screw their energy because of the fact that you're blank, you're effectively a black hole.
[SPEAKER_00]: You pulled away their cypress, you get energy.
[SPEAKER_02]: And wasn't there a rule where like if a cypress was nearby, the cypress could only attack them, but couldn't use cypress powers.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: All of your psychics, all of your sprites, all of your everything targeted that.
[SPEAKER_02]: And he was immune to all of them.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yep.
[SPEAKER_00]: And it went away.
[SPEAKER_00]: But then there are done would be based on how many psychers are within X amount of bitches.
[SPEAKER_00]: And because they would basically steal all of the power and they'd throw it back at you as an effectively an energy vortex attack.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: And then, and that's true.
[SPEAKER_02]: There's the collects.
[SPEAKER_02]: Is this helmet they have?
[SPEAKER_02]: could kill a demon.
[SPEAKER_02]: Like a demon print sale just wipe them off.
[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, they're just, so the back of the warp, but it would affect the wiped them out with by shooting pariah jen at them.
[SPEAKER_02]: This is one of the few times that mankind has actually mastered pariah style technology better than Necrons have.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, because this, this, this should be a Necron weapon.
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, for sure, because I didn't use it as mass.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: And we're using, of course, as as one-off killers.
[SPEAKER_02]: So a couple of fun stories I like, because I like telling these ass-ins through stories about the collections.
[SPEAKER_02]: The first one was someone called the Revoker, who was a collectus assassin.
[SPEAKER_02]: This is just great.
[SPEAKER_02]: There was a revolt of psychers.
[SPEAKER_02]: Full blown cigarette, not one guy, not two guys, dozens, maybe a hundred of them.
[SPEAKER_02]: And the revoker just wiped them all.
[SPEAKER_02]: It was also super cool because they were talking a lot of shit.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, no one can even hear them.
[SPEAKER_02]: And they just dropped one guy off and he killed all of them.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, effectively when we are still powerful with our magic, no one can touch us.
[SPEAKER_00]: And a guy showed up with
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, you're gonna die bad.
[SPEAKER_02]: None of you can do.
[SPEAKER_02]: But my favorite story is this guy is Dronos.
[SPEAKER_02]: So there was, so there was a thousand sons sorcerer, a name of course, Zentaka.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's easy to pronounce.
[SPEAKER_02]: Who was raising an entire demon army and was surrounded by rubric high.
[SPEAKER_02]: So this was, this is, you know,
[SPEAKER_02]: psychic powers turned up to an eleven.
[SPEAKER_02]: No one can break through because between the rubric high and the demons, no one's got a chance.
[SPEAKER_02]: The problem is all of these beings use warp sight, so they dropped off one dude, Dronos, who just landed on the planet and just started walking.
[SPEAKER_02]: and just walk through everybody all the way up to Zentaku who couldn't see him and melted Zentaku's brain and then walked home.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yep, I just walked in my ceiling.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, duh, duh, duh.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's just an amazing story.
[SPEAKER_02]: And again, I wish I could have rules that my colectus couldn't be seen by demons.
[SPEAKER_00]: And before we go on to before we make it weird and dark.
[SPEAKER_00]: This part is ugly.
[SPEAKER_00]: I do want to point out that in the show notes, John slowly but surely started misbelling assassin.
[SPEAKER_00]: worse and worse until you could see that he gave zero shifts.
[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know why typing using four S's in a word is just hard.
[SPEAKER_00]: You just went.
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't even care.
[SPEAKER_02]: You know, no one sees.
[SPEAKER_00]: You started with ass and just went.
[SPEAKER_00]: I would have just pounded the keyboard.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I was written.
[SPEAKER_02]: I was written ass over and over again, but I was like, I'll accidentally do the Ron Burgundy and read it.
[SPEAKER_00]: If you send the exact movie so great.
[SPEAKER_02]: All right, let's let's end the cast by getting super weird the ever-saurus assassin.
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if people, you know, I'm actually, this is one of the ones I'm excited weirdly enough, because it's super creepy to talk about.
[SPEAKER_00]: But I don't, I don't most people, they don't know the lore really well, and they play the game, put it never started and they go, oh, it's good and combat, but they don't know the goddamn horses.
[SPEAKER_02]: The nightmare that an ever-saurus, so everything we've talked about of every assassin, and I'm including the one that had tyrannid genes at it.
[SPEAKER_02]: were based around a tradition of assassin, their stealthy, they sneak up, and then they use subtlety to kill their opponent, the sum level of power.
[SPEAKER_02]: The ever-sour is the inverse of this.
[SPEAKER_02]: The inverse-sour is a violent, loud murder machine.
[SPEAKER_02]: They don't just kill their target.
[SPEAKER_02]: They kill everything in between them and their target.
[SPEAKER_02]: They are used to send a message.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's what the, the ever sort of primarily is used to send a message.
[SPEAKER_02]: And before we explain what they are, I'll give you a really quick story of what an ever-sour can do.
[SPEAKER_02]: There was a Duke who was financing pirates.
[SPEAKER_02]: So, you know, to kind of, you know, raid his, you know, his competition to make himself look better.
[SPEAKER_02]: The Imperium discovered this,
[SPEAKER_02]: drop the one ever sore off, they killed the Duke and all three hundred and sixteen members of his family, plus guards at one point using a spoon and a point using a butter knife to kill them all.
[SPEAKER_02]: This is John Wick level of murder and they're not like subtle stabs them and then they then put them in the closet, stomach and find them.
[SPEAKER_02]: This members them with the spoon.
[SPEAKER_00]: You know, he's in forty seven.
[SPEAKER_00]: Anybody.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, he will pull murder.
[SPEAKER_02]: Like you have to do some serious cleaning after these guys.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's what we just sent vids to other people.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: Don't do this.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: So no one knows what the underlying skill set is for an ever sore.
[SPEAKER_00]: Like again, don't excel at hand the hand combat on your way back to Tara.
[SPEAKER_00]: Probably there.
[SPEAKER_00]: Be again.
[SPEAKER_00]: Hey, where's the midpoint be right?
[SPEAKER_02]: Right at the midpoint because this is what you don't want.
[SPEAKER_02]: So no one.
[SPEAKER_02]: My theory is I think that really ever source.
[SPEAKER_02]: I think I think just like they do with the collects us.
[SPEAKER_02]: I don't my guess.
[SPEAKER_00]: I think they don't think this.
[SPEAKER_00]: I think that they literally weed out.
[SPEAKER_00]: The most the fastest the strongest and the most unstable because you're getting a bunch of those Yes, it's never that again.
[SPEAKER_00]: The ship's a shit show.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I guess.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm a piece of the man grab all these people so you just literally go hey That guy's super strong super fast super violent and super unstable right?
[SPEAKER_00]: And then hey, you're about to go to the shittiest assassins.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, the ever-saurus, the party time of horror.
[SPEAKER_02]: So let's just talk about what an ever-saurus, an ever-saurus is, and a bombination.
[SPEAKER_02]: They combine cybernetics, drugs, and psychological conditioning.
[SPEAKER_02]: I did put the note here, not the good kind.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: they are, they're cybernetics, so we'll start with the cybernetics, which do two main things.
[SPEAKER_02]: First, super strength and speed.
[SPEAKER_02]: Like any cybernetic would, you know, these guys can move build, and they can move buildings.
[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, they are, they're stronger than a spaceman.
[SPEAKER_02]: by a question.
[SPEAKER_02]: They have drug pops.
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, we'll get there in there.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: So, but that's the part one.
[SPEAKER_02]: Part two, they also can explode.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: Also.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: So that's a little helpful.
[SPEAKER_00]: That comes in the mixture that they give.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: They can actually explode.
[SPEAKER_02]: So I'm not not a great said, but where it really gets fun are the chemicals.
[SPEAKER_02]: The chemical enhancements that they put in these things, they actually can move at speed.
[SPEAKER_02]: The elder can't.
[SPEAKER_00]: Also, not super worried about the safety of the evasor and or let's reel that back again.
[SPEAKER_00]: We're talking about nightmare.
[SPEAKER_00]: All of the shit that they do, the evasor, all of it causes
[SPEAKER_00]: insanity pain.
[SPEAKER_00]: Hey, I'm going to give you this drug that makes you super strong and fast.
[SPEAKER_00]: What's it feel like?
[SPEAKER_00]: Have you ever put acid everywhere in your body?
[SPEAKER_02]: You said I could have sworn there was something I read one time that they they severed that for them, but they actually can't feel pain.
[SPEAKER_02]: The ever sort of cannot feel anything.
[SPEAKER_00]: when they first start doing, is they talk about when they, they have the one story where they're talking about.
[SPEAKER_00]: I might be making that.
[SPEAKER_02]: I could be mixing it out there, but for some reason I think there was something I read where they could be the same thing of it once you have that in your system who cares?
[SPEAKER_02]: It's fair.
[SPEAKER_02]: But what I like is there's two levels to the drugs they put in them.
[SPEAKER_02]: There's just a regular drugs that are in their system at all times.
[SPEAKER_02]: And then a special booster pack that they can trigger at a key moment, com had to actually speed them up even faster.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, they're going into vats and follow.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, where they go, yeah, they just go to a psychotic rage and just slaughter everything around them happens at one tenth of speed.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, basically for them.
[SPEAKER_02]: the other way.
[SPEAKER_02]: I do it.
[SPEAKER_02]: So there's a lot of pieces ever so that are funny.
[SPEAKER_02]: Another one that's funny is that the drugs that they're putting them on and make them this fast, this strong, that's everything are so toxic that they also have to go through genetic conditioning beforehand to improve their immune system.
[SPEAKER_02]: So they when they put the drugs when they put the drugs and then they'll just fall over and die.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's not like it's like, you know, they actually they're genetically conditioned to be able to handle a toxic load beyond anything else out there.
[SPEAKER_02]: You know, space remains could use that.
[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe that's the secret Jesus.
[SPEAKER_02]: And then once they get them with a higher tolerance for toxins, then they pump them so full of these horrifying drugs.
[SPEAKER_02]: They can do nasty things.
[SPEAKER_02]: By the way, these drugs, we get to an minute one of their key side effects.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's kind of hilarious.
[SPEAKER_00]: They're, they're not in forever.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: The last one they do don't know is the psychiatric conditioning, which consists of someone at GW saw Clockwork Orange and went, okay, let's just do that in reverse.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: Makes it easier.
[SPEAKER_02]: They are, they have no
[SPEAKER_02]: concept of compassion, humanity, even, but more importantly, give it more importantly, also no sense of self preservation.
[SPEAKER_02]: Because all of the assassins understand that their core with what their job is to do, and they may die for it, the ever-sours are at a whole different system here, like they're expecting to die.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's probably actually a step-up.
[SPEAKER_00]: Again, they have no anybody that's in between them and trying to do what they're supposed to do.
[SPEAKER_00]: if you might as well be a breadcrummer, a piece of paper, means nothing.
[SPEAKER_02]: So the part of the ever-saurus, that's more, it's a dark humor, but it's funny, is the way that they deploy them.
[SPEAKER_02]: So ever-saurus are all held in cold storage, and this is because of a couple reasons.
[SPEAKER_02]: One, the drug, yeah, they would just kill.
[SPEAKER_00]: I was just gonna say, one, oh yeah, remember the guys that we
[SPEAKER_00]: condition to have zero compassion for life at all in everything is nothing to them.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you probably should have those guys walking around.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, they're not because when you accidentally grabbed a piece of bread before them, you don't want them killing the entire cafeteria.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, remember earlier we talked about helicopter.
[SPEAKER_02]: These guys would be able to blend in license.
[SPEAKER_02]: They would blend in on a ship and pretend he part of the crew.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, they've ever just make kill the whole crew.
[SPEAKER_02]: So yeah, so they're stored in cold storage, but it's not just because they're they'll murder anybody.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's also because the drugs that they're on.
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, just kill them.
[SPEAKER_02]: They have a lifespan of like a couple months.
[SPEAKER_02]: So the half-inch you keep in cold storage to the point where there ever serves who are deployed, who are two to three thousand years old.
[SPEAKER_02]: They just been sitting in cold storage and having gotten a lot of forty two years.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, scoop them up afterwards.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, which is the crazy part.
[SPEAKER_00]: If you have zero life, you've never lived one day that wasn't just murdering shit or training to murder shit or
[SPEAKER_00]: Frozen.
[SPEAKER_00]: Fred was there.
[SPEAKER_00]: You got murder shit, training to murder shit, frozen.
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh yeah, what was before that?
[SPEAKER_00]: Horribly having drugs that were basically battery acid in your body.
[SPEAKER_00]: It being beat in the head until you didn't care about any life.
[SPEAKER_02]: But what I love is just the way that they're deployed, because, again, as I said, if you play on a table top, you may not realize how funny the ever-saurus, the ever-saurus sits in this pod frozen.
[SPEAKER_02]: They have a computer then, they just, they basically load into your brain what your target is, and then they fire the drop pod out of a ship onto a planet.
[SPEAKER_02]: The pod opens, defrosts you, and then you just go hunting.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's what the ever-sword does.
[SPEAKER_02]: If at the end of the mission, the ever-sword has not exploded, they then tag it, freeze it, repeat.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's what they do.
[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, their life is just off.
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, another really great example of how messed up the ever-saurus is the exceptional level of basic ass equipment that it carries.
[SPEAKER_02]: Everyone else.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I got to see if there's super special shit.
[SPEAKER_02]: I've got this incredible gun with specialized bullets.
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, I've got a phase when it was in and out of reality.
[SPEAKER_02]: I shoot
[SPEAKER_02]: the energy out of my face that melts the cipher.
[SPEAKER_02]: What's the ever sore has?
[SPEAKER_02]: A bolt pistol, a power sword, a smell to bombs, and it's a poison glove.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's not frid in Freddy Krueger's hand.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's what he has.
[SPEAKER_02]: And it's because that's all it needs.
[SPEAKER_02]: The ever sore is about as armed as a guard's man.
[SPEAKER_02]: Actually, no less armed.
[SPEAKER_02]: The ever story is actually less armed than an imperial guard sergeant.
[SPEAKER_02]: And he just so insane.
[SPEAKER_02]: And he gets to do all of the attacks.
[SPEAKER_00]: I suck so much.
[SPEAKER_02]: But there are awesome.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, there are awesome.
[SPEAKER_02]: So obviously, we weren't going to not talk about stories of them.
[SPEAKER_02]: And I've got a few of these that I just enjoy.
[SPEAKER_02]: The first one is Ganimus, who is sent to a high world to kill a Baron.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but he doesn't kill the Baron.
[SPEAKER_00]: We killed the Baron and sure.
[SPEAKER_00]: And he legitimately killed an entire regiment.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: Anybody that effectively got into eyesight of it.
[SPEAKER_02]: He killed just killed all of them.
[SPEAKER_02]: Regiment of Gartman on his way to the Baron.
[SPEAKER_02]: You got both of them.
[SPEAKER_02]: The other story is more funny, is rejured.
[SPEAKER_02]: So, rejured wasn't ever sore.
[SPEAKER_02]: This is one of the few times I used an execution force.
[SPEAKER_02]: This is newer lore, by the way.
[SPEAKER_02]: This was in, not a psychic awakening, what was the one I was a psychic awakening?
[SPEAKER_02]: Arxonvoman.
[SPEAKER_02]: Arxonvoman.
[SPEAKER_02]: Arxonvoman is an Arxonvoman, a fabulous bio kind of reappeared in the lore.
[SPEAKER_02]: They sent an actual execution force, which is multiple assassins out.
[SPEAKER_02]: And they had to go take out one of the, like, there was a chaos lord who was with Fabius Bial.
[SPEAKER_02]: And this chaos lord was just playing with them.
[SPEAKER_02]: Like, just ripping them all the shreds.
[SPEAKER_02]: They couldn't anywhere.
[SPEAKER_02]: And the ever sore launched himself.
[SPEAKER_02]: at the chaos lord and we say chaos lord of what part of this is in a being infused with the power of chaos so level chaos yeah this isn't just a sergeant this is a guy who's you know to the nines
[SPEAKER_02]: The Chaos Lord breaks his neck when he comes in, and then the ever-sour just goes, all right, and explodes, and kills the Chaos Lord.
[SPEAKER_02]: Problem solved.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I love these things.
[SPEAKER_02]: I love these things.
[SPEAKER_02]: They are one of my favorite things to play on the table top.
[SPEAKER_02]: You know, I, I always love the sessions.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: Like, hey man, how's your life been?
[SPEAKER_00]: Since I actually got into consciousness, I've been tortured in my whole life.
[SPEAKER_00]: You're injected with chemicals that give me nothing but pain.
[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm unfrozen to kill people.
[SPEAKER_00]: And then I immediately am frozen again.
[SPEAKER_00]: So my entire life has been the stuff of your worst nightmares.
[SPEAKER_00]: You're like, oh, cool.
[SPEAKER_00]: Continue on.
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, and I think with that, that's a good spot to kind of let me cover nothing parallel assassins for now.
[SPEAKER_02]: We made it dark enough.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, exactly.
[SPEAKER_02]: So we hope you enjoy as much as we have.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's been quite fun.
[SPEAKER_02]: Next week is actually going to be our fifty second episode, which means we're going to hit the one-year mark.
[SPEAKER_02]: So I think we're done.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's been fun, huh?
[SPEAKER_02]: I didn't even know.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I'm kidding.
[SPEAKER_02]: Let's have some fun with it.
[SPEAKER_02]: So, for all of you who've been listening so far, we'll probably do a bigger deal about next week.
[SPEAKER_02]: I just do want to thank you.
[SPEAKER_02]: We are about to hit across the one year mark.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's been like here.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, this is about to do one year.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's crazy.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's good.
[SPEAKER_02]: We've been a lot more successful at following being in a year.
[SPEAKER_02]: Let's put that way.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's a horrifying understatement.
[SPEAKER_02]: I just made that.
[SPEAKER_02]: Next week, we're actually going to jump into Deathguard.
[SPEAKER_02]: But we're going to do it the way we did thousands of songs, reading it from the, from the, about Typhus.
[SPEAKER_02]: Deathguard themselves, the stories, just most of the chaos armies, Tandy, very character focused from, from a writing standpoint, it's was easier actually to talk about the character and use them to talk about the force.
[SPEAKER_02]: So we'll be talking about Typhus, starting from the Horus heresy and then moving all the way through.
[SPEAKER_02]: Probably, it's like, I'm written it yet, so I'm just talking about two episodes.
[SPEAKER_02]: Typhus, go a ship.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and this way, it's nice too, because we've set the stage pretty well with like the thirteenth black crusade and some of the other stuff.
[SPEAKER_02]: Typhus plays a big role through this.
[SPEAKER_02]: So, but with that, it's been John Barsodian, Brad Chester.
[SPEAKER_02]: This guy.
[SPEAKER_02]: See you guys next week.
[UNKNOWN]: you
