00:00:01 Speaker 1: You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio. 00:00:04 Speaker 2: It's a Dan Patrick Show here on Fox Sports Radio. He's LeVar Arrington. That guy's Brady Quinn. I'm Jonas Knox in for Dan and the guys. You can hear us weekday mornings before Dan and the Dan Nets on Two Pros and a Cup of Joe every weekday morning, six am Eastern time, three o'clock Pacific. But we have you covered here on The Dan Patrick Show until the end of this hour neon Eastern time, nine o'clock Pacific. You can listen to the show on the iHeartRadio app. You can find us on hundreds of affiliates all across the country. If you're listening on the podcast, we appreciate you doing so. You can also watch along on YouTube as well too at two pros FSR. That is at two pros FSR. As we are waxing poetically here on this Tuesday morning talking all things NBA with the playoffs and Steve Kerr and what the hell is going to happen there, Billy Donovan just walked away from the Bulls job. He has resigned as head coach. So now we continue. 00:00:58 Speaker 3: The journey on. 00:00:59 Speaker 2: We're gonna helpful to catch up with our guy Bruce Feldman here who does a deep dive before the draft to get the feedback from scouts executives about what the feeling is on some of these prospects with the NFL Draft coming up, and Bruce really connected and does a really good job of gathering this information like a true deep dive if you're a football nerd and you want to find out the ins and outs of this draft, like he's, He's broken down just about every angle and every position there is so looking for. 00:01:29 Speaker 4: One of the coolest things Bruce does is he's got the Freaks List that usually comes out before every college football season, and it's basically he kind of paints out a light on just the freaky athleticism you'll see from a lot of the different players. Could be strength, it could be a movement, could be explosion, whatever it is. He finds a way of tapping into that talking to a lot of the different college coaching stafs, et cetera. But this time of year, what's need is he then applies that same approach talking to a lot of the NFL teams and some of the coaching stabs and some front office folks about what they see in these players, and so a lot of that stuff. You know, if you follow them for the college game, you'll see some of the same names pop up too. 00:02:08 Speaker 5: That are that freaky athleticism that you're looking for the next level. 00:02:11 Speaker 2: So let's welcome in. He is Bruce Feldman. You see him on Fox, you can read him at the Athletic best Selling Author, and you can get him on x at Bruce Feldman CFB. 00:02:22 Speaker 3: Bruce, Thanks so much for the time. How are we doing doing great? 00:02:25 Speaker 6: Good to be hon with you guys. 00:02:26 Speaker 2: Thanks for having me absolutely all right, So what goes into the anonymous NFL Draft Intel? So, like, tell when does the process start for you? And how long does it take you to gather this information to put this together? 00:02:39 Speaker 3: Because it's awesome. 00:02:41 Speaker 6: Yeah, thank you. It really starts at the combine. I go every year. I love going to it. And you know, as you guys know, it's like a lot of college coaches are now coaching in the NFL. Wasn't that long ago, like Mike McDonald was, you know, I think Brady and Hour around him when he was Michigan's defensive court, you know, and it's like, so you see a lot of that. So it's helped me where you know, I know, it's a ton of guys now who are working in the NFL, and so I start really just kind of talking to different people at the combine, but really it ramps up over the last two weeks because at the combine, honestly, at that point, unless you're unless they're the scouts, that they're the really the position coaches. I'm not sure how much digging they've done some interviews, but that's you know, like it really picks up over the really in the last two weeks. And so you know, one of the best guys I talked to for this, it's a DV coach I didn't get. We didn't end up sinking up till Sunday morning, and by that point a lot of the piece was written. But I was like, all right, we got to make room for this guy, because it's just there's just a ton of great insight that these guys have on things. And it's interesting because like there'll be more than a handful of guys like Keldric Faukus certainly won't fits in this category where their twenty twenty four film is better than this twenty five film. You know, it's just how guys are used. There's just a lot that goes into it. It's not you know, they're not always going to be right, but their perspective is really fascinating to hear about Bruce. 00:04:10 Speaker 4: Who are you most curious or maybe even excited to see where he gets drafted coming up starting Thursday? 00:04:19 Speaker 6: You know, I'm interested to see what where Jeremiah Love goes. You know, I'm not just saying it because obviously he's another name gun now, but like to me, he is so much better than anybody else at this position. You look at what you know, he had less carries in the last two years combined than Ashton Genty did in his last year. 00:04:40 Speaker 3: At Boise State. 00:04:41 Speaker 2: Uh. 00:04:42 Speaker 6: You know, there's a fair One of the personnel directors I talked to in the NFL was like, man, I didn't think he was Bijan, but then you look he runs, you know, with more violence. He is that explosive. He's a he's a great pass protector. He could be a receiver, Like I just think he's he's a phenom. I'm an old player. It's not to say there aren't going to be other good running backs in the draft, but I just think, I know, running backs typically are not going in the top five range unless people think they're really special. I think he's really special, and I don't think this is a you know, I'd say there was like three guys outside of him that I feel like, really really confident in rbl Reeves from Ohio State. I like David Bailey, you know, but then it's really really on love. I just think he's going to be such a fun player to watch in the NFL. 00:05:31 Speaker 7: I think it's a great segue to the LB position. Rbs are not generally very highly valued. We had this conversation on the show. Maybe I don't know, maybe yesterday, maybe last week, Bruce, but I'm curious, is the linebacker position off the ball linebacker position, because I know you're high on on Lorenzo Styles. Is is that a position that's becoming a luge repick versus being a priority pick in the early round. 00:06:06 Speaker 6: Yeah, I just think we're not seeing as many guys like that, LeVar. It's like the game has changed a lot. But then you talk to coaches in the NFL and they're like, you know, and this comes up a lot when we're talking about edge rushers too, where it's like now guys are running the football to run the football, They're not just running to set up the run. So it's like as you know, it's like it's it's pretty cyclical, but like sunny styles. I mean when you see him, he looks just way different. I mean he was actually a safety for a little while in Ohio State, but just you know, crazy range and athleticism, like he was as much of a freaksless guy as I've had really good player has grown into the position. You know, I don't want to say like some of the thundersman was stolen by r Bell Reese because he's just had such a spectacular first season as a starter. But then you talk to coaches and they're like, you know, there are other good off all linebackers in there, right, It's just his traits are crazy, you know, to see what he can do, and you start to sit back and wonder, Okay, how does this guy, you know, how will he be utilized? But then there's you know, there's guys I've talked to her like, you know, there's probably it's not a bad draft for linebackers. Yes, he is the headliner, but then you get some really other you know, good guys. Jacob Rodriguez was the guy a Texas Tech had a fantastic twenty twenty five season. They spent a lot of money on the D line. He was able to roam the ball like finds him or he finds it at at an incredibly high rate. You know, it's just it's it's very I think there's gonna be guys you can get in there. Jake Goldey started his career out at Central Arkansas, went to Cincinnati, really high level guy, Cea Allen from Georgia, really productive player who ran better than people thought. Like it's a I think it's a it's a pretty good draft. But you have one guy who I think people look at and go, oh, he's really intriguing, just because the length and the athleticism is off the charts. 00:08:05 Speaker 2: Bruce Feldman, reporter for the Athletic Fox College Football Insider with us here on the Dan Patrick Show. It is two pros and a cup of Joe filling And for Dan and the guys here on FSR, I'm curious so Fernando Mendoz, Obviously it's a foregone conclusion at this point. 00:08:20 Speaker 3: He's going to go number one. Over all of the Raiders. 00:08:22 Speaker 2: Have you in talking to anybody, was there pushback on Yeah, we're not sold on him because of this. It seems like he says all the right things you know, last year when as well as could possibly go. But what sort of flaws have people discussed with you in Fernando and potentially his fit at the NFL. 00:08:43 Speaker 3: I too, Here's going to. 00:08:43 Speaker 6: Be a little bit of you know, it's going to be a learning curve. 00:08:47 Speaker 3: Now. 00:08:48 Speaker 6: It's fortunate they signed Kirk Cousins, but I think one of the coaches I talked to said, you know, he really only threw from under center like three snaps, so the footwork will will be an adjustment. But we've heard great things about his work ethic and his intelligence. The other things that I think bothe really well for him is he he's incredibly resilient. And you see them as like he threw a pick against Iowa late in the game, tough place to play, bounce back, immediately throws, you know, leads him on a touchdown draft, throws a pick six at Oregon next series, comes back, leads him on a touchdown draft. We remember the great you know play to beat Penn State at the end when they were look like they were going to lose that game, take some take some big shots against Miami and finds a way to you know, run the ball in from ten yards out when uh, you know, Signette was thinking of of kicking a field goal. I just think that that the toughness, because nobody doubts that he will stand in the pocket and take big shots. I think from a the one maybe the biggest pause. I think people look at us the first pick of the draft, and typically I think people are saying there's some elite, wow trait and and I don't know if people like his arm. I don't know if they you know, it's not Josh Allen's arm. But there's only a few of those out there. It's like justin Herbert and and you know, my homes and I don't know how much deeper the list goes. But like I had one personnel director who's pretty eye up. It was like, you know, because I asked him. I was like, he's in the same draft with Caleb and Drake May. And he was like, you know, Drake May's you know, really talented. Drake May had you know, some growing to do when he got there. He said, I feel more confident about Fernando coming out than I did about Drake. 00:10:32 Speaker 3: That's it. 00:10:32 Speaker 6: I didn't like Drake, but I really like Fernando. The more he's seen, the more he's heard. But again, you know, the offense is a little different and there's going to be some learning curve, but he's got time and we know he's a really good, you know, good student. We'll see you know. It's quarterbacks are the hardest thing to evaluate coming out of college for NFL teams, and I can see why. You know, it's like, it's not a good draft, but I can see why the why the Raiders have to take him. 00:10:59 Speaker 7: Do you have hard feel lends towards Mendoza? Do I know sure you didn't make it personal? 00:11:07 Speaker 6: No, for me, I. 00:11:10 Speaker 7: Mean for those who don't know you. You are a hurricane, right, you are? 00:11:13 Speaker 6: You guy? I went to Miami, but you know you're not. 00:11:16 Speaker 7: You're not a hurricane event. Okay, I was just making sure you know. 00:11:20 Speaker 3: You might have it might have hurt your feeling. 00:11:23 Speaker 4: He's giggling now, but there is no one worse than Bear and Bruce sat the course of the season as things went on. Okay, obviously, Chris Felika the Bear and Bruce to Miami guys. I want to ask you this, Bruce, where would you put Mendoza, knowing what we know now about the quarterbacks who are draft eligible for next year, where would you rank him among that group? 00:11:44 Speaker 6: A good question, you know, because we that like I feel like, we get to this time of the year and it's always like, wait till you see who's going to be next year. Well, the next year class turned out to not be very strong right now. The guys we thought might be good weren't. But this is a going to feel it's a deep group, you know, like Dante more a lot. I think he made a smart move by staying at Oregon to get more time on task and more reps and physically develop. Very intrigued by arch I think he grew a lot as the year one on. I remember there was a lot of you know, inexperience around him, and I think that was a smart move by him. Leonoris Sellers, this is year three of it's a you know, Leonoris is really big, really fast, strong arm, really smart, love all that. But it's the third year in a new system, you know now, so and we'll see how it works. With Kendall Bryle's there at South Carolina. But he's really talented, you know. I think there's a bunch of dudes, you know, like Brady. I don't know how you feel about this, but like he get car I think we all love him. I mean, and think there's a ton of talent. Is if they have a really big year, does he leave already? You know? 00:12:51 Speaker 4: I mean it's two years of starting and I would go and say his tape is better than anyone else that I would. I mean, I know people think it's biased because I'm notre Dame. It's just I've watched all these kids. There's no one in my mind who translates better than him based on what I've seen as far as the ability to make all the throws, to layer throws, to drive throws, but also to create. Like if you just think he's a pocket passer, that's where he's gonna get you because he's gonna create. He's gonna try to find ways of escaping and then hitting you downfield. And that's why if they have the season I think they're going to have this year, he'd be hard pressed not to. But I can understand why you'd want to stay back again as well. But he's in that category of guys, like I'm running down names, well, Trinidad Chambless. You didn't mention him yet, Brent Soresby, I know he was part of the article. We haven't mentioned him yet. I mean when you go to Jade mayavt U. 00:13:42 Speaker 6: See physical trades, Yeah, it's Trinidad is a little smaller. I think he's smaller than people see, you know. 00:13:48 Speaker 5: Like and he plays bigger than his size though. 00:13:51 Speaker 6: Yeah, and he just almost plays like a like a basketball player. He's like kind of just smooth, he moves and he's really accurate. I mean, I don't know, I mean he's Josh. 00:14:04 Speaker 5: He got paid a lot of money. 00:14:05 Speaker 4: Yeah, Like I probably have twelve guys that I think can have huge years that we're talking about consideration for like the first. 00:14:12 Speaker 5: Couple of rounds. 00:14:15 Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean look, CJ to me is the wildcard because he's still twenty. I know he's gonna turn twenty one soon. You just because he feels like he you know, it's a first year as a starter, but two years especially, you know, if they go into the playoffs, then you're playing fourteen games, you know, like that's whatever, twenty seven, you know, twenty six twenty seven games as a starter, Like, I definitely think he's a first round guy. Whenever he goes it's just like, does he go in this well, you know it's it's it's a crystal ball kind of thing. But there are so many guys we didn't even mention Keller goes to LSU Will he'd be a guy who ends up flashing. You know, he led Arizona State to the playoff. Sorsby's a trades guy, like I think, physically there's a lot to like we'll see how he you know, picks up the offense and and cleans up. But he's he's very talented. Everybody I know who watched him, they're go, oh, he's really intriguing because he's he's bigger than you think, he's probably faster than you think, and his arm has got plenty of horsepower. So let's see what he does at Texas Tech. I mean, you know we didn't mayava from you. Yes, you know he's got some ability to. 00:15:22 Speaker 4: So so take into account that, like all the guys that you've seen us far, Like how does that factor into Mendoza and like what he would look like, because that's what teams have to figure out that not necessarily for him because Las Vegas is going in that direction, but every single year teams have to figure that out for teams that are looking at ty Simpson or looking at whoever else would be considered for that next quarterback in this year's draft. 00:15:41 Speaker 6: Yeah, I think that, man, unless you talked yourself into Ty Simpson one year as a starter, they didn't really have a run game and it's kind of showed, Like ty Simpson, Garrett and nuss Meyer. I think those guys, they're both coaches kids, coaches who worked up at a high level who I think will be on NFL rosters for a long time. I just don't know if you would sit there and go, oh, we're gonna put the chips in the table now to take to trade back into the first round to take him before somebody else might when you know there's a big haul coming next year. Because even if like sixty percent of those guys that we just mentioned either don't get in the draft or don't like look really good in twenty twenty six, the odds are that like four of them will because we just mentioned like twelve and you know, unless there's a big injury with CJ. Carr, unless there's an injury with Dante More or an injury with arch I don't think people are gonna go Yeah, I don't feel as good about him as I do about Ty Simpson as one year starter. 00:16:49 Speaker 7: I gotta ask this just listening to the way you guys interacted on this topic in particular, guys, are I mean you cover pre anil Era, Now you're in the nil Era. Guys are not only being looked at as top prospects to go into the draft, they're being looked at as top prospects by other schools. So I'm curious for you where you're at now in your coverage and how you see things kind of unfolding. How much of a factor does that play into, you know, all of these conversations like we might not see one of these guys go into the draft next year because they might feel like there's a better opportunity to potentially I don't know what it is. Maybe it's win a national title. Uh, maybe it's the amount of money that they would get versus going into the league. I'm not sure, but that's where this is all going. How are you you know, how's that impacted the conversations that you have with this changing landscape of college football. 00:17:51 Speaker 6: Well, it's a real it's a real thing now, right, So now, Tye Simpson, it sounds like he did turn down considerable amount of money from Miami to put his name in the draft. Darien Mensa took the money. Darian mens is a guy we haven't mentioned yet, you know, being down at Miami like a week ago watching practice. You know, they feel like he's like a cross between Carson Beck and cam Ward and with the positives of both, which I think he's another guy in the discussion. But if you're getting four million dollars, you know for a year to be a college football player, there's not a lot of guys who are going to get that. I mean, like look at Sam Hartman. Sam Hartman probably got a lot more money and opportunity because he went to Notre Dame and then all of a sudden, people you know, like I don't know if anybody realized Sam Martin was a good looking guy when he was in the ACC but when he got the Notre Dame and he became a huge, high profile program. I think there's a lot of other opportunities to come with it, right, So it's not just the nil where oh, some big bunny boosters are funneling money to the starting quarterback now all of a sudden, it's like when when Caleb was at USC, when Bryce Young was at Alabama. I think from what I heard, the big money they were getting was corporate, right. It was one of them had like United, another one had you know, that's the Doctor Pepper money. I'm guessing you know, Dju who started out his career Clemson, former five star, probably ended up with a lot more money from from Doctor Pepper than he did, you know, in professional football at this point. And so I think there's going to be those guys who are like, oh I might be a fourth or fifth round pick. The other thing to keep in mind, and obviously you guys played football, you know, played in the NFL. Was when they're doing these nil deals. Some of these agents, the nil agents, they're taking twenty percent as opposed to what you were getting. You know what, you guys were probably paying your agents when you were in the NFL. So think about what the what the conversations and how they're being told about like oh, why you should come back? You know, well, there's a if I'm an agent and I'm getting this, you know, like my client is getting the same amount of money, but I'm getting twenty percent of it as opposed to three. Like where's their self interests going to be to try to motivate you to go play college football for one more year? You know they're going to shop you around, and so I think that factors in. I don't think it factors into it with all the kids, but I do think it factors into it with some of the kids because I've heard enough stories of that happening. 00:20:26 Speaker 2: He is Bruce Feldman college football reporter for The Athletic and you see him on Fox as well too. Get him on x at Bruce Feldman CFB, and I encourage you go to his ex handle. He's got the link to the article up there if you want a deep dive on prospects, position groups, feedback from scouts, from coaches, and anybody who's anybody in the NFL. All the feedback is tremendous. You do it every single year and it's awesome. 00:20:51 Speaker 3: Bruce. We appreciate you coming on with us man my pleasure. 00:20:54 Speaker 6: Thanks for having me. 00:20:55 Speaker 3: Bruce. 00:20:55 Speaker 5: Whe're you going to be watching the draft. 00:20:58 Speaker 6: I'm actually going to ship Haigo because the Athletic has a draft show that's in Chicago where Robert Mays. The show is with Dane Brugler, and so I'm flying there tomorrow morning. So it should be fun five hours. 00:21:11 Speaker 5: I mean, I stay out of trouble, brig Yeah, Bruce, trouble. 00:21:17 Speaker 3: Yeah. 00:21:17 Speaker 4: I'll just say, because you're a big steakhouse guy and then you like going out in the extracurriculum, I. 00:21:22 Speaker 6: Feel like you're the bad influence on all of us at that point. 00:21:25 Speaker 7: At that point, that's not true. I had a ainger for this, that one right there. I'm gonna leave it alone though it's too soon. Yeah, I did have a ainger for you guys on this. 00:21:35 Speaker 3: Bruce, thanks man. We'll do it again soon, my pleasure. Bruce. 00:21:38 Speaker 2: He is the great Bruce Felman with us here on Fox Sports Radio. I'll tell you if you go, it's not one of these well you just kind of flip through and he does a gives like some quick feedback. He goes positioned by position why certain uh, you know, scouts and executives prefer one player. 00:21:54 Speaker 3: Over the other. Like it's it's really awesome what he does every single year. So he's going to Chicago. 00:22:00 Speaker 7: Okay, now, Sedona, I had to do I had to do it too soon, I mean, just rude. 00:22:09 Speaker 4: You got to understand that I've been to Chicago with Bruce a few times, so you know, he likes to he likes to get after it. 00:22:16 Speaker 5: Let's have a good time. 00:22:18 Speaker 3: Yeah, I did. Okay, I didn't have. 00:22:20 Speaker 2: I thought we were going to be able to get get through a show without you know, somebody making a crack about Sodona and Diana Rossini. 00:22:26 Speaker 3: And you going away in I would cryptic. I don't know. I have to bring all that stuff off here. He does work for the Athletic. You got too much more? Oh well, it's too much going on right now, Bruce, you gotta babe. 00:22:44 Speaker 7: The way uh okay called uber eats uh. But while you're watching us on YouTube at two pros FSR, apparently you're gonna be able to watch Mike Tomlin on NBC because that is the reports that are coming out this according to Andrew Marshaan of The Athletic reporting that Mike Tomlin will join NBC's Football Night in America. I've seen that be a part of the pregame show that so I think Tony Dungee is out if I'm not mistaken, And so Mike Tomlin is going to be the guy there for NBC And it was just a matter of time before. 00:25:09 Speaker 3: He got a TV gig. 00:25:11 Speaker 2: There are some rumblings about Fox, but ultimately he goes to NBC there to be part of the Sunday Night Football program. 00:25:17 Speaker 5: And he'll do a great job. 00:25:18 Speaker 4: I mean, I think anyone who's listened to Mike Tomlin speak appreciates how he breaks down the game, how he doesn't really give you a bunch of what we'd call coach speak where he talks around what he's trying to say. He get articulates it very well and shoots you straight. You know, I think a lot of players who played for him I feel that way too. So I'm excited, Like this is a it's a big signing. 00:25:39 Speaker 5: It's good for to me, the. 00:25:41 Speaker 4: Product of the NFL of football to have guys who have had success to that level transition, go beyond TV, Go educate, go entertain, go inform people about the game. 00:25:53 Speaker 5: And like I said, I don't know how long he'll be doing this. 00:25:57 Speaker 4: This feels like it might be he does it for a year and then he'll get that next opportunity because he's just that good. 00:26:04 Speaker 5: But I'm excited to see what it pans out to be. 00:26:09 Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, it's a it's a natural for me. I feel like it's a natural move. 00:26:13 Speaker 7: It's a natural move for him to go to television because he is such an entertaining guy and people really really subscribe to, you know, what he brings to the table. So, I mean, I think that that's a is ultimately it's it's a good move for him, but I think that it it also maybe buys him a little time, you know, to figure out what if he wants to even come back to coaching to begin with, and how that you know, how that looks and you go from there. But you know, I think that's a natural progression for someone like coach Tomlin. 00:26:47 Speaker 3: Yeah. 00:26:48 Speaker 2: Now, I figure at some point, maybe we'll also get some news out of Pittsburgh as to whether or not Aaron Rodgers is going to be back. I mean, at some point you would think that would happen as well too. 00:26:57 Speaker 4: It sounds like Will Howard right now, is there QB one? From all reports, all indications, that's how they're going to handle things going into the season, right, which you know you'd probably like to have with the new head coach show, you'd like to have someone else there. 00:27:11 Speaker 3: But you know, I just don't get it. 00:27:15 Speaker 2: I mean, I confusing, Well, I would unless unless Rogers in them had a conversation he was like, listen, I'm going to be back. I just I don't want anything going publicly. I just trust me, I'm not gonna I'm not gonna stick you guys with, you know, a late decision to not return and have you go through free agency and all this stuff in the draft, and then ultimately tell you I'm not going to play. So maybe there's some you know, he's communicated that with them, and that's why they feel so confident that he's going to be back. 00:27:44 Speaker 3: But I just don't know. If that's the case, why not just announce it already. 00:27:48 Speaker 4: I mean, well, because this reason. I don't know how he was told when he was in Green Bay, but it's my understanding that he wasn't informed in a manner that allowed him to be able to prepare for them drafting Jordan Low trading back up to take Jordan Love. They caught him off guard, and I think for every player, you don't want to have to even put people in the situation where they have to lie to you or they have to say to you, hey, we weren't going to take a guy, but the right guy, ty Simpsony fell to us, so he felt like they need to take him. 00:28:17 Speaker 5: You know, maybe he doesn't want to be in that situation. 00:28:19 Speaker 4: So if that's the case, why not wait till after the draft when everything's pretty clear and decisive that point and you decide if we want to go back into that scenario for another year or two years, however Longeran Rodgers wants to play. 00:28:31 Speaker 5: But you know, look, in the long run, it might be the best thing for the Steelers. 00:28:35 Speaker 4: I mean, he knows Mike McCarthy's system to have a backup and Will Howard, if that's what he's going to be get all these reps as the guy, it's only going to benefit them moving forward, especially if Rodgers gets hurt, assuming he does come back. 00:28:51 Speaker 7: I think the Steelers are in a tough spot, man, and I don't I don't think anyone. 00:28:56 Speaker 3: Would debate that, Like where do you go from here? 00:29:00 Speaker 7: They've been trying to figure out their quarterback's position since Ben Roethlisberger was declining as the quarterback, So. 00:29:09 Speaker 3: You know, I don't know. 00:29:11 Speaker 7: I think that they have a Maybe they're not as far away from being a good team as they. 00:29:18 Speaker 3: Or maybe that icy. 00:29:20 Speaker 7: But for what it's worth, I mean, I look at it from the standpoint of where there's smoke, there's fire, and Mike Tomlin stepped away for a reason. That's why I'll say he stepped away for a reason. What that reason is is, you know, I don't know. It has yet to show itself, but I'm sure it will become a thing, and we might be talking about one of the reasons why it will become a thing. 00:29:50 Speaker 2: I mean, maybe Rogers is in a place where he doesn't have cell service, doesn't have Wi Fi, doesn't have any of those things, and he's just trying to get away from everything, and they haven't been able to communicate with him, you know. I mean, there's a couple of years ago he was, you know, writing on the top of a camel smoking weed. So I mean, who knows he went down into a hole for a little while his off season. 00:30:09 Speaker 5: That's exactly what he was doing over there. It was riding on a camel smoking weed. 00:30:12 Speaker 2: Speculation, the potentially reckless speculation, but that was you know, that's that's the way. 00:30:18 Speaker 4: I can't wait till you get sued at some point someone, someone somewhere literally the reckless, reckless allegation. 00:30:27 Speaker 2: First of all, I'm team Aaron Rodgers all the way, we were. We were featured in We Were, You were featured in the Netflix documentary. We were featured in that. 00:30:37 Speaker 5: You were Why were you featured again? Were you saying some negative about it? 00:30:40 Speaker 3: No, we were just we were talking about where he was at, you know, he was gone. 00:30:43 Speaker 5: I thought that was speculation. 00:30:45 Speaker 3: Yeah, But the fact that we were in there, I think, I think tells you that we are. 00:30:50 Speaker 5: You saying we as nice. We were not in there. Your voice was in there, which you felt very good. 00:30:54 Speaker 3: Right, you were in there. That's ten dollars. That's ten dollars. 00:30:59 Speaker 2: Okay, explain all right, that's ten dollars, bro Explain, Explain why I just got docked. 00:31:05 Speaker 7: Ten dollars passive aggressive behavior. You just sat there and said that. 00:31:13 Speaker 3: We were on the show. We were not on the show, and you go to act like, oh, yeah, we're not going to talk bad about it. 00:31:20 Speaker 5: I'm going to define the fine differently. Okay, say that it is a self suck for. 00:31:25 Speaker 3: Oh okay, I'm okay with that too. I'm okay with self sup in. I don't I don't feel like that's justified. 00:31:35 Speaker 5: But I mean. 00:31:38 Speaker 3: He's typing it in. You a trouble player. 00:31:41 Speaker 5: Yeah, and you also lead us, by the way, with fifty dollars. 00:31:44 Speaker 2: Now on fine, although some of those are just ridiculous. But I don't want to I don't want to question the court at this juncture. 00:31:51 Speaker 4: But you have your opportunity to appeal. It's ten dollars up front and ten dollars if you're losing it. 00:31:55 Speaker 2: The whole the whole thing is rigged for anybody listening, This whole fine system is rigged to where Brady's the judge, jury and executioner. 00:32:04 Speaker 4: Roger Goodell. Yeah, and I handled the player of conduct policy. You guys are the players, and I'm run boy way. I do hold myself accountable. I'm next in line with thirty dollars in fines. So yeah, it's you guys could have got me on the second segment of today's show. I'll be very blunt, given all the things that are happening outside this show right now in my life, and the topic that you went completely audible from what we were supposed to talk about and went back to the NBA playoffs again. 00:32:30 Speaker 5: I almost got fined for that moment. 00:32:32 Speaker 2: I mean, it's just a cultural, natural flow of conversation here. I mean, just Jimmy Garoppolo might retire. I mean, you know, it'll be a shame, but he maybe sign. 00:32:42 Speaker 4: Him first off, Jimmy Garoppolo the Hall of Fame of Business in the NFL. Sixty four starts over one hundred and fifty million dollars earn. Yeah you heard that right, I love it. Sixty four starts over one hundred and fifty million dollars earned. What will he be most remembered for, though? We be most remembered for dating a an adult film star? Yeah, his time being drafted in New England, the guy that kind of replace Tom Brady. Right, Remember he was trying to knock on the door of TV twelve, the one let him in, yep, or with the San Francisco forty nine ers and making a super. 00:33:19 Speaker 2: Bowl adult film star because he like, of all the options that he had out there. He's just cruising around on a on a friendly date with an adult film star. 00:33:30 Speaker 5: He was a few plays away from being a super Bowl. 00:33:34 Speaker 3: Yes, that's I mean, But I don't know that people will remember that. 00:33:38 Speaker 2: No, they're gonna remember him with that uh with what's her name? With the battleships, just walking around getting ready to go to stud the A. 00:33:46 Speaker 3: Look, you're right though, you're not wrong, there are You're not wrong, a great career man. You are not wrong, brother. 00:33:55 Speaker 7: I wish I could say you were, and that's like very chauvin mistake or whatever. 00:33:59 Speaker 3: But you're not wrong. 00:34:01 Speaker 2: And because there was a lot of people who saw her and recognized her but couldn't admit that they recognized her because they'd be outing themselves. You're basically, you know, outing yourself as somebody who partakes in that. And Jimmy Garoppolo is like, I don't care, hey, and we. 00:34:17 Speaker 7: Like them more after that, I mean adult film, but he was farmers need love too. 00:34:22 Speaker 3: I mean, they're people. 00:34:23 Speaker 2: If he was criticized having bad judgment, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera, why, I don't know. 00:34:29 Speaker 3: It's just jealousy. 00:34:30 Speaker 7: He's a good looking guy and you probably felt like he should be with somebody that wasn't in the industry where you could see them getting you know, tore. 00:34:39 Speaker 3: Out the frame. 00:34:39 Speaker 7: I mean, I get it, I get it. But you know that was the choice he wanted to make. And good for him for living in his own truth. 00:34:48 Speaker 3: I agree. 00:34:49 Speaker 7: Don't judge that man. She might do what others can't. You know, well, life is about being happy. That's what I probably would have been in Garoppolo for getting better. 00:35:00 Speaker 5: Off going to Sedona and just saying like that. I don't know that people would have Maybe they would have found out. 00:35:07 Speaker 3: I don't know. I don't think it matters. 00:35:10 Speaker 7: Like Dad, listen, I'm gonna leave. That would have you know, let's just go to break ball. But I like Jimmy Garoppolo. A good looking dude. He made it to a super Bowl. He dates how he wants to date. He got invites to Bunny Ranches due was doing it the way that he needed to do it. Whether you don't think, whether you think he did or he did, I don't care. I will always have fond memories Jimmy Garoppolo. So if you retire, my guy, enjoy your retirement. If you keep playing, then enjoy keep playing. But I have nothing bad to say about this man. 00:35:51 Speaker 2: And also he does have two rings because he wasn't backup with New England they won those Super Bowls. Yes he was, so you know that's not It's a fine career by Jimmy Garoppolo. Here's what else is outstanding in Cogny. Oh wow, the first time that Joe and. 00:39:04 Speaker 8: He's also the and he's the youngest who ever win Defensive Player of the Year in NBA. 00:39:08 Speaker 3: What a joke. 00:39:10 Speaker 4: Damn the Kevin Mintumbo never won an he never won Defensive Player of the Year where it was unanimous. 00:39:17 Speaker 8: No, this is Wendy's legitimately the first unanimous winner. 00:39:21 Speaker 3: I mean, what does he really have to do? He just stands there. Dang Jonas He's fourteen feet tall? What like? 00:39:31 Speaker 1: What? 00:39:31 Speaker 3: What is what is the real what what's the what's the skill set? What is he doing? He's just putting his hands up and he let. 00:39:40 Speaker 4: Me ask you this because I've had someone to ask the same thing before, because they were talking about Defensive Player of the Year at the NBA and they're saying like, hey, they only like a one trick pony, right. I said, well, isn't that similar to like a lead singer of a band that doesn't play any instruments, Like all they do is stand there and sing, right, Like, would you have any background info on on defending that? 00:39:59 Speaker 2: Well, they write lyrics. Wemby's not writing the lyrics. God wrote those. He said, you know what I'm gonna do. I'm gonna make you six feet tall and then stretch you out another foot and a half. 00:40:10 Speaker 3: And then just go stand some way. 00:40:13 Speaker 2: Yeah, just just stand him in front of the wind, in front of the rim, and just see what happens there. 00:40:19 Speaker 3: I'm gonna make these things stretch you out a whole other foot. Hey, you get one and I'll get the other. Let's until we get to seven five lay Tappy Party gets skinnier insteadier. 00:40:33 Speaker 2: He should be five ten three eighty instead he's seven six ninety four pounds. 00:40:38 Speaker 7: Hey man, they need to do it special special offering on Lappy Tappy's the wimbin Yamas. 00:40:44 Speaker 3: Yeah, but Tumble won it. 00:40:51 Speaker 4: But Tumble one defensive Player of the Year for like four times. But never unanimous, never unanimous. I mean there was some really good ballplayers when Matumbo was winning it. Well, think about this, like the glove Gary Payton, Yeah, Scottie Pippen was often. 00:41:08 Speaker 7: Scotty Pippen would have been, Yeah, as well as Michael Jordan, indeed Horace Grant. But that's you're making the points. That's probably why they couldn't get unanimous because they actually were. 00:41:18 Speaker 3: There actually were killers. 00:41:20 Speaker 5: No one plays defense, that's correct. 00:41:22 Speaker 3: Yeah, Yeah, he's one. That's what I'm trying to say. That's his skill set. He does something. You know what his skill set is is he can block jumpers, like like three pointers. 00:41:32 Speaker 5: Amza Morning was a part of those groups groups. 00:41:35 Speaker 7: I already blocked a shot in another arena one time, Yo dunk from behind the the backboard. The man is long. Laughy, Tappy's a winner. Hey pause, man, get out of here. 00:41:49 Speaker 3: Okay,
