Pole question from hour one, what are we going with in our two seaton? 00:03:18 Speaker 6: Yeah, we got a few of them up there right now, which is worse on the court? Too many players are not enough? 00:03:23 Speaker 7: Not enough? 00:03:24 Speaker 6: Has seventy six percent of that vote. How do you like your hot dogs? Seventy four percent of the audience have two toppings or less, over three or more, three or more is a little busy, I think, uh, and are you going to be buried in your favorite team's gear that's at eighty percent? 00:03:38 Speaker 2: No, okay, Marvin wants to be buried in his Rip Hamilton jersey. And does your wife know this? 00:03:47 Speaker 8: She does? 00:03:47 Speaker 3: Now, okay, she's listening, Fritzi, what do you want to be buried in? 00:03:52 Speaker 8: I want to be buried in. 00:03:54 Speaker 9: Not. 00:03:54 Speaker 4: I wouldn't wear Broncos or Aster or anything like that. I just wonder something respectful, not in a tucks or anything like that. Really giving any fuck these more big conversations that we have. How much I like that, I'd have to give that some thought. But I would not wear like an l Way jersey or something that would be very weird. 00:04:08 Speaker 3: I think sweatpants. 00:04:10 Speaker 8: Probably sweatpants for sure. 00:04:11 Speaker 4: Yeah, right, but I guess you can do sweatpants. You can have like Broncos Zubaz pants. And now I'm starting to spill into what I said I wouldn't do. But I think it would be weird if I had like a Carl Mechwenberg jersey and just some kind of Peyton Manning John Elway Bronco outfit on. 00:04:24 Speaker 3: I think it'd be weird if you didn't have that on? 00:04:27 Speaker 6: What is it the sweatpants like the body beach gym or whatever. What are the ones that you wear that? 00:04:33 Speaker 3: What's that Gold's gym? 00:04:34 Speaker 7: Go? 00:04:35 Speaker 3: Yeah, you've been wearing those around. 00:04:37 Speaker 6: It's I'm going to be impressed, Like, no, I know, multiple colors. What about you, Seaton, I'm a cremated guy. Oh yeah, I don't want to be buried. I want to be cremated. Pay do you prepay? I've possibly I'm going to just burn it up and spread it somewhere. 00:04:54 Speaker 3: But do you want to be wearing something when you get cream aated? You know? 00:04:57 Speaker 6: I got it's similar to Todd. I hadn't really thought of that. What I'd like to be burned up with? Okay, it very well could be a sports jersey though. 00:05:04 Speaker 3: What about you? 00:05:06 Speaker 10: I would guess suit and tie, old school classic, Yeah, I don't know, yeah, yeah, suit and tie. 00:05:11 Speaker 3: I guess, yes, hud. 00:05:13 Speaker 4: What if if you have that belief whatever you wear, that you're buried and that's what you're gonna be wearing forever in heaven? 00:05:17 Speaker 8: Does that playing too? 00:05:18 Speaker 11: Like? 00:05:18 Speaker 4: Is this whatever you're picking that's gonna you're gonna have your wings and that's gonna be your thing. 00:05:22 Speaker 8: And whatever you do for the rest of eternity, it's gonna be in that. 00:05:25 Speaker 12: Yes, Marvis, So that means I'm gonna be fresh at the Pearly Gates. Yeah, Saint Peter's gonna be like Rip Hamilton YouTube. That's right. 00:05:33 Speaker 7: Yes, I wish I could tie my own tie for my funeral that I know how to. I know, Papa not believe me. 00:05:39 Speaker 2: I'm going against that. The funeral director is good at tying. Yeah, thats gonna. 00:05:44 Speaker 10: Be a side job for me because I'm really good at tying ties. I would work at a funeral home. 00:05:48 Speaker 2: I got a friend who runs a funeral parlor, and it's weird. Then I did my family tree and I realized that somebody in my family tree, great great great grandparents, they ran a funeral home. 00:06:03 Speaker 3: I didn't even know anything about this. 00:06:05 Speaker 2: And when you're around like my friend, his name is Kevin, and I can't help but ask him about this, and he's, you know, every day, you got to come in and you got to be, you know, very nice, and you gotta have that reverence and you know, I'm so sorry, you know, And he always looks impeccable the way he's dressed, great hair, and uh, I just I don't know if I could do that every day where you're going to work and you know, you know people are going to be sad unless you have, you know, celebration of life, you know, when somebody's seen in their eighties. 00:06:40 Speaker 3: Yes, Paul. 00:06:40 Speaker 10: And if you own a funeral home, there's no down season. There's no no season where you could take a month off. It's not like you work in a resort. 00:06:49 Speaker 3: It's not like tax season. And then all of a sudden, nobody does nobody. 00:06:53 Speaker 6: Yes, I knew a dude who was a funeral home and we would be out at like, oh, so and So's ninetieth day and it was like, you know, the basement of a Knight's of Columbus and it's like a big event or whatever. And he would walk around there and like you'd be standing at the bar whatever he go by. It be like a lot of money in here, dang dude. Yeah, it's like you have to have a twisted sense of humor. You don't have to, but I bet it helps to have a pretty ques. 00:07:17 Speaker 2: I think you when my brother had one of my brothers had a stroke. When we're picking out my mom's coffin and my brother had a stroke, And we make the joke with him now that the funeral director who was going to help us get a coffin for my mom was sizing up my brother to see what kind of coffin. Yeah, he's you know, he's looking at my brother Bill like you know, having a stroke or a seizure right there in front of us. And we joked that he was going, I don't know, he looks like he's about five to ten. You know, I think that casket, Yeah, I think that'll work. Yeah, Paul. 00:07:55 Speaker 10: Just like shirts and suits, coffins have normal size and extended longside. You want a long coffin because if you were six three, yeah, but if you put in for a long coffin, I think that will help your height on the way out. 00:08:08 Speaker 2: Yeah, because I want to make a statement there. You know, it's like, man, he was tall, a lot taller in a thought in person. You know, you know when they do where am I going to be in the rotunda? Like when they do that, you know, viewing. 00:08:21 Speaker 7: The viewing the line outside. 00:08:24 Speaker 3: But Todd, there might be a Denver Bronco casket. 00:08:26 Speaker 4: Like that probably is. There's all kinds of sick things out there, but there was working in that field. Would that make you appreciate being alive more? Or would you become someone that'll be just really depressed and it would just be horrible to go about your life in that field. I know you can make money and there's no off season all that, but I don't think I could. 00:08:42 Speaker 8: Like you said, I don't think I can do that. It's very morbid, awful thing. 00:08:45 Speaker 3: Somebody else to do it. 00:08:47 Speaker 8: Somebody does have to do it. 00:08:48 Speaker 12: Yeah, yes, Mark, Well, you have a public viewing, like right here in the man Cave where people make the pilgrimage to come pay their final respects to you. 00:08:57 Speaker 2: Out on the basketball floor, I'd like it out by the three point line, like a couple of feet deeper, at least have my head and my hands would be on the other side of the three point line. I don't want it like Kevin Durant where my foot's right on the line, you know, and then somebody say that it's not a three pointer. Okay, Uh, welcome to the program already in progress. Uh did I get to Jay in Delaware? 00:09:25 Speaker 3: Jay? Did I did I talk to you. 00:09:29 Speaker 11: Here? 00:09:30 Speaker 3: Dan? 00:09:30 Speaker 13: Uh? 00:09:31 Speaker 3: Well, I was. 00:09:34 Speaker 14: Good a lot of change the topics here. Well, I was I was carolling. 00:09:39 Speaker 15: Mainly about the Sweet sixteen, but I wanted to throw a real quick marbor that brought up the uh Camden Yards, the town that I'm from. We had the farm team for the Orioles, and my favorite thing there is the crab Riese. Sweet sixteen has absolutely delivered and I can't wait to see Arizona and Illinois in the finals. 00:09:59 Speaker 13: That's gonna be one hell of them. 00:10:00 Speaker 3: All Right, Well, thank you, Jay. 00:10:02 Speaker 2: Yeah, I know we get caught up in a Cinderella And if you want to say that Texas was a Cinderella or I was a Cinderella, Okay, it's hard to say that when you come from the Big ten or the sec that you're a Cinderella storing. It's like somebody was trying to convince me a couple of days ago, could you can be a Cinderella story. Because they weren't mentioned as the best odds to win the title. I go, there are number two seed, and I brought that up to Danny early yesterday. 00:10:29 Speaker 3: He's like, no, we're not a number two. You know, We're not a Cinderella story. Let's see how. 00:10:38 Speaker 2: About Patrick in New York. Hi, Patrick, what's on your mind today? 00:10:42 Speaker 14: Well, hey, hey Dan, how's it going great? Hey, I am from New York. But actually it's big in to New York. We don't want to get that because he was not in New York City. I got a I got an elevator pitched for you. Okay, it's about your you know you lost your sponsored trager. 00:11:01 Speaker 3: Yep. 00:11:02 Speaker 14: I just I'm a very small company. I'd like to throw it out there. I'm the maker of the Patrick. My name's Patrick, and the only that's well, what happens here is Dan, is you some here around the country, and I build barbecues and people's backyards and we'll call it to Patrick. 00:11:22 Speaker 3: Well, thank you Patrick. 00:11:25 Speaker 2: We're on the verge of maybe securing a new made Friday grilling company. So we're excited about, you know, getting somebody. We sad that, you know, we said goodbye to Tregger. That was ten years. But coming up next week, I think we're going. I said, I have to have a grilling partner, and I have to have the grilling partner that I you know, love, and I'm putting my name behind it because I want to have that when we go to the draft in Pittsburgh. I have to have my grilling partner by then. Yes, PAULI, we're not becoming vegetarians. No we're not. That is a no, no, no we're not. But thank you, thank you Patrick for the elevator. Pitch Billy and Ioway Billy, what's on your mind today? 00:12:11 Speaker 11: Good morning Dan and your entire crew. Thanks for taking my call. I love to watch on Peacock. I have a couple of quick comments. You guys got jobbed by the Emmys. You guys are tremendous. Never losers, only tew the funeral segment. This is awesome. It's the one choice in life we don't have. And then I have a quick stat of the day. 00:12:31 Speaker 9: Okay, thanks for the music. 00:12:46 Speaker 3: I love that one. 00:12:47 Speaker 11: My two freshmen from my fighting A line, I'm Mercovich and Woggler since the seventy two to seventy three tournament and it got double doubles by freshmen in the same game. 00:12:58 Speaker 2: That's your stat of the day. Thank you, Billy and IOWA. Stat of the Day brought to you by Pennine America. David Murkovich and Keaton Wagler. They had double doubles first freshman duo to do that since freshman became eligible in nineteen seventy three. 00:13:26 Speaker 9: So the day stat of the day, that bus stat of the day, stat of the day here comes that what stat. 00:13:35 Speaker 16: Of the day? 00:13:38 Speaker 2: Darius Acuff Junior, the third from Arkansas, had eighty eight points. Those are the most points in a player's first three NCAA tournament games career games since Steph Curry had one hundred in his first three games in seven eight tournaments. 00:14:00 Speaker 17: Startup a day, startup to day, stat of the day, stat of the day, status to day, status to day, status to day. 00:14:10 Speaker 8: Startup food. 00:14:11 Speaker 3: Did you pump up some volume on that stat of the day there, Marvin. 00:14:15 Speaker 12: And kind of went up on his own, like, yeah, well, we don't have a live band in here, all right to give it that feel. 00:14:24 Speaker 3: Yeah, well, you did a great job, all right. How about we take a break. No, no hot dogs now, Todd, you got one hot dog per hour? 00:14:35 Speaker 4: Yeah, but they have this year they have the nine to nine challenge, ding nine nine nine. 00:14:39 Speaker 8: Why can't we do something? 00:14:40 Speaker 2: Do you want to have one now? One more now and then none for the rest of the show. 00:14:44 Speaker 4: That's not a fair deal at all. I thought we would do like one every commercial break you have one? 00:14:49 Speaker 3: No, you get one per hour, Okay, laying the Marvin. 00:14:54 Speaker 12: You said one hot dog, You didn't say sausage and peppers. 00:14:58 Speaker 2: Sausage and peppers at this top break, next hour, push it sausage and pepper's next hour. 00:15:06 Speaker 13: Yeah. 00:15:07 Speaker 6: See can I trade my crab dip access no later for another hot dog? 00:15:13 Speaker 8: Now? 00:15:13 Speaker 3: Oh okay, I'm just trying to say, I'm just trying to order in the cord here. Let's go. Don't turn something great into something bad? 00:15:22 Speaker 8: Why is there no room for negotiation? 00:15:24 Speaker 3: I like what we's scene's going with that. 00:15:25 Speaker 8: He wants to trade up and get something. 00:15:27 Speaker 3: How about we take a break. We're back after this. 00:15:30 Speaker 1: Be sure to catch the live edition of The Dan Patrick Show weekdays at nine am Eastern six am Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio w app. 00:15:39 Speaker 7: Paully Fools go ahead with Tony Foodsco. 00:15:42 Speaker 17: Yeah, as everybody knows, we're the hosts of the award winning Polly and Tony Foodsco. 00:15:45 Speaker 8: Show. 00:15:46 Speaker 17: But instead of us telling you how great we are, here's how Dan Patrick described us when he came on our show. 00:15:51 Speaker 2: Quick, knowledgeable and funny opinionated. 00:15:55 Speaker 1: What what are you doing interrupting our promo? Yeah, he wasn't talking about you. You took those clips totally out of context. 00:16:02 Speaker 17: Oh yeah, well after this promo, I'm gonna take you out and beat you. 00:16:06 Speaker 3: Let me put this into context. 00:16:08 Speaker 1: Shut up. 00:16:09 Speaker 17: Yeah, anyway, just listening to the Pauli and Tony Fusco Show on Iart Radio Apple podcasts. 00:16:13 Speaker 3: Oh wherever you get your podcasts. 00:16:15 Speaker 2: Yeing did a little research during the commercial break, and I found a Broncos casket right now for twenty ninety five dollars todd when. 00:16:27 Speaker 4: You're whatever, you can get the one with the sound effects when they're doing third down. 00:16:34 Speaker 7: I'll buy it for you. I'll buy it for you. 00:16:36 Speaker 3: Facebook Marketplace, No, no, no, dang it no, I only get my my quarteruroys on Facebook. 00:16:42 Speaker 7: You're being buried in quoteroys for sure. 00:16:43 Speaker 3: Yeah, no doub about it. Probably so, probably so yeah, Paul. 00:16:47 Speaker 10: We also did a little research about death and we talked about if you own a funeral home, is there a slow season? 00:16:52 Speaker 7: There is? Guess? 00:16:54 Speaker 10: According to the CDC, the highest mortality month is the United States and a low mortality month. Who wants to guess the mortality game. 00:17:04 Speaker 3: All right, Todd. 00:17:07 Speaker 4: The highest mortality month I'm gonna say is December, and the lowest I'm going to say is June. 00:17:14 Speaker 3: Seaton, I'm gonna go kind of opposite. 00:17:16 Speaker 6: I think the I think more people die in the summer, less people die in the winter. So I'm going to go like a January July situation, January July, Marvin. 00:17:27 Speaker 12: I think a lot of people die in January for sure, and in the July is the least deadliest. 00:17:35 Speaker 2: So January and July most to least. I'll go December. Most all go January least. Some pretty good guesses. The highest mortality month January, the lowest August. People are getting ready for school, too. 00:17:56 Speaker 7: Busy to die. 00:17:58 Speaker 10: Back to school, back to school shopping rarely happened January. Twenty percent more die in January than they do in August traditionally. 00:18:06 Speaker 6: Man, that's really a statement on on like New Year's resolutions. Yeah, yeah, trying to die. They're going to kill you twenty percent more likely to kill you. 00:18:15 Speaker 4: Yes, Todd, Oh, you might have died sooner, but you wanted to get to that next year. And just to say that you're work a little bit longer, and you're made it past the ball going there. 00:18:22 Speaker 2: Yeah, let's let's keep him alive until January so we can, uh, you know, get those odds those numbers up. 00:18:29 Speaker 3: Yes, Paul. 00:18:29 Speaker 10: Didn't the great comedian Betty White die like a month before her hundredth birthday. Yeah, they had this whole special plan. I love that weird weirdly that she just like, I'm. 00:18:39 Speaker 3: Out, Dick Van Dyke, mate made it to a hundred. He's still with us, Yes, he's still with us. 00:18:45 Speaker 7: We haven't had him on. 00:18:46 Speaker 2: No, we It's been a long time since we've had Dick van Dyke. I would have had Betty White on. I thought she was she was a pissa and I thought she was she was hot in a strange way. Yeah, yeah, nineties hot. Yeah, yes, you're a big Julie Andrews guy. Oh, Julie Andrews. That first my first girlfriend had a crush on her. See, that'd be I don't know what I would say if I saw Julie Andrews, because I remember seeing her and I was probably seven or eight years old. 00:19:16 Speaker 3: Sound of music. 00:19:17 Speaker 2: Oh, I didn't know what those feelings were, but I had feelings. She was spectacular. And then you give me Mary Poppins, come, oh. 00:19:28 Speaker 7: Poppin all right? 00:19:28 Speaker 2: Yeah, popping and Lockin', yes, Bali. 00:19:32 Speaker 10: Dick Van Dyke, the famous comedian actor, just turned one hundred in December. 00:19:36 Speaker 7: Yeah, there's a study. 00:19:38 Speaker 10: Actually, this guy had a statement, I can't find the college that comedians. He noticed the trend of comedians living way longer like uh, Carl Reiner mel Brooks all in the nineties. Dick Van Dyke Betty White that the comedy is the mitigating factor. 00:19:57 Speaker 2: Yeah, but they always feel like they're very depressing. P when you're around comedians, they're they're kind of dark. 00:20:04 Speaker 10: Yeah, but don't they overcome it with comedy. Maybe I don't deal with it. 00:20:08 Speaker 3: I don't know. 00:20:09 Speaker 7: Laughter is the best medicine. 00:20:11 Speaker 3: It is. I just made that, yes, Todd, I. 00:20:15 Speaker 8: Think laughing and the ability to make other people laugh. 00:20:17 Speaker 4: My grandma Judy, I don't know where she read this one when she just came up in something she always said to me as a little kid, laughing is like an internal workout, just like you would do weights or something at the gym for your look better externally. But the something about laughing you're giving your insides exercise or work. 00:20:30 Speaker 8: I thought that was very interesting? 00:20:32 Speaker 3: Was she the funny one in the family? 00:20:34 Speaker 8: Was very fun I don't know how I see what you did? 00:20:38 Speaker 3: Questioned about my grandmother. 00:20:39 Speaker 7: I just died. 00:20:41 Speaker 18: Yeah. 00:20:42 Speaker 2: See, we're giving ourselves in inner workout. 00:20:46 Speaker 8: Judy Goldste she knew what she was talking. 00:20:48 Speaker 3: Oh man, they talked about Judy Goldstein. 00:20:51 Speaker 8: She was very funny. 00:20:52 Speaker 3: Yeah, not intentionally. 00:20:53 Speaker 8: She was just kind of out there. 00:20:54 Speaker 2: Kind of like David in Ohio. Hi, David, what's on your mind today? 00:21:01 Speaker 13: Hey Dan, happy to meet Friday. 00:21:02 Speaker 14: Nobody. 00:21:04 Speaker 13: You guys are talking about death earlier. 00:21:07 Speaker 15: And I would want to be buried by the Pittsburgh Steelers so they can let me down one last time. 00:21:14 Speaker 3: Yes, yes, Paulie. 00:21:15 Speaker 10: If you're a Steelers fan, you have four Super Bowls in your lifetime, I don't see room for complaints. Yeah wait, I'm sorry, six super bowls in your lifetime. 00:21:23 Speaker 2: Yeah, if you're a Browns fan, then you could say that. I don't know if they're fixing to trade Miles Garrett they ask him to restructure his contract, but I I don't know. It feels like some analysts are taking this running with it, and it just feels like maybe something's there, which I would be surprised, because I would feel good about the Cleveland Browns with the draft picks and you've got a really good defense. Mel Kiper said, they're not interested in ty Simpson because they have Schudoor Sanders. Melo is going to die on that hill with Shudoor Sanders. But I don't want you to reach and you know, if ty Simpson isn't your guy, or you're not completely convinced, then don't do that. Use that pick when somebody can actually make your team better. And maybe you're going to you know, reinforce your offensive line and then maybe you get a true assessment of shoud or Sanders. But you still got the Deshaun Watson elephant in the room. And if he's healthy and you're paying him forty four million dollars, then play him like you've already gotten over the moral compass of how could you bring in this guy? 00:22:38 Speaker 3: So play him. 00:22:39 Speaker 10: Yeah, Paulie, I'm looking at the article about Miles Garrett's contract tweaks. They're tweaks, you know, they're just dates of when he gets his money that helped the team cap wise, Okay, and people are taking that and making leaps. 00:22:52 Speaker 3: Okay. 00:22:54 Speaker 2: I mean I did a little bit, but I thought they should have trade traded him before he got you know, got forty million dollars dollars because you weren't going to win. And look in that division, I don't know what Cincinnati is going to give you. Baltimore has a new head coach. Pittsburgh we're still not sure about. And maybe Cleveland can be, you know, an eight win team, a nine win team, but I gotta get I got to figure out, you know, is it Dylan Gabriel, Shadoor Sanders, is it Deshaun Watson? If you got three, then you don't have one, and that would concern me. Craig and Louisville. Hi, Craig, what's on your mind today? 00:23:30 Speaker 16: Hey? 00:23:31 Speaker 19: Dan six time caller, longtime listener five. So I've got three rapid fire questions for you about your funeral? What song would you have played at your funeral? Which Danette would you want to give your eulogy? And could Marvin be a pallbearer? With this little hand? 00:23:54 Speaker 2: Would I want Marvin to be a pallbearer? What I want Paul to be a Paul bearer? 00:24:02 Speaker 7: By default? 00:24:03 Speaker 3: See what I do? Paul Bear Todd will not give my eulogy. 00:24:08 Speaker 8: I try to cheer everybody up a little bit. Maybe they wouldn't laugh, but I would try. 00:24:13 Speaker 3: Oh you would? You would go for the humor, I would. 00:24:15 Speaker 4: I think I think you would appreciate that, because you always make people laugh and feel better and make people's dreams come true. 00:24:20 Speaker 8: That should be the tone of it. 00:24:22 Speaker 2: I was thinking of asking Will Ferrell or maybe Sandler, Will Ferrell, Darius Rucker playing a song. 00:24:33 Speaker 7: A star studded affair. 00:24:34 Speaker 10: Yes, would you have the funeral in Los Angeles to make it more convenience? 00:24:37 Speaker 13: Yes? 00:24:38 Speaker 3: I would. Yeah, like won't bring the funeral. 00:24:41 Speaker 7: To you you get some good celebs out there? 00:24:43 Speaker 2: Yes, I mean you might get some dry buys. Now people just say, hey, what's going on? They're barrying Dan Patrick? All right, I don't stop in. Yes, Todd, what if your sung rocket is casket. 00:24:54 Speaker 8: Like a wagon wheel? That would be kind of weird. Why you don't want them shaking up your whole thing? There? 00:24:57 Speaker 3: Thank you, Tod. 00:24:59 Speaker 2: This is the kind of humor that I start crying more than ever at. 00:25:04 Speaker 7: Your fuderal fans after you die, He's gonna be funny. 00:25:06 Speaker 3: Oh okay, yes, Marvin, So what song would you have. 00:25:12 Speaker 7: I don't know. 00:25:13 Speaker 3: I don't know. 00:25:14 Speaker 2: I'd have to leave that up to I mean, it may be amazing Grace. You know that Darius could sing that. 00:25:19 Speaker 3: You know, I don't. 00:25:20 Speaker 2: I don't want to Hooty and the Blowfish one. I got a little poppy. Yeah, time, time and time. You ain't no friend of mine. 00:25:34 Speaker 8: You don't have to worry about time anyone. What you doing? 00:25:36 Speaker 3: That's true? 00:25:37 Speaker 8: Thank you? 00:25:38 Speaker 3: Yes, Marvin. 00:25:38 Speaker 12: What about an acoustic version of Banging the Drum all day? 00:25:41 Speaker 3: Oh? 00:25:41 Speaker 2: Then I'd have to get Todd Rungren in. Oh, So I'm not gonna let Todd sing the Bang the Drum or Friday theme song. Yeah, it's a little too poppy, you know. I mean I'm looking for tears, you know, maybe maybe just like some subtle humor in there with Sandler and uh and will Well tag team action there, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. They're great together, you know. Put them up there and see it always funny. Yeah, it'd be nice. Yeah, let's see Bill in Houston. Hi, Bill, what's on your mind today? By the way, Todd goes, if I get buried in broncos casket, I go from mile high to six feet under. 00:26:22 Speaker 8: I think I would have to say that on the side. 00:26:24 Speaker 3: All right, fair enough, Bill in Houston joins us, Good morning. 00:26:27 Speaker 18: Bill, Hey, a quick Chicago style hot dog story that PAULI will appreciate that. Whenever I fly from Houston to Indianapolis, inevitably I have to lay over in O'Hare in Chicago, and I found a fabulous little eatery there that I can get near to the American Airlines terminal to get foot long Chicago style hot dogs that I can dream about every day. So now all my flights to the Midwest have to go through O'Hare. So two and then two quick questions for you, Dan days like today. Do you need one of those signs of ballparks I think used to have where it said no beer sales after the seventh inning and only two beers per customer. Do that with your hot dogs? 00:27:08 Speaker 3: Yeah? 00:27:08 Speaker 2: I should have that where it's only but I scene has already said, Look, I might have four or five hot dogs today, and it's a Friday. We had a rough day on Tuesday, and he's got all weekend to recover. Somebody just sent in Todd will be buried in a suit a three piece damn three piece. 00:27:30 Speaker 3: Damn three piece, but you didn't even have a three piece suit on like I did. 00:27:34 Speaker 4: It was some kind of linen thing that I got in I don't know where Lagoon and Negal or wherever I were. 00:27:39 Speaker 8: Laguna Beach and this guy was just not having it. 00:27:42 Speaker 3: But did you you spilt? 00:27:44 Speaker 4: Almost I was with my little cranberry juice and I'm in some club or bar and totally out of my element with the group that was there, and I kind of banged into him back and he's with this hot girl and he's got muscles coming out of every orifice, and he's like, damn three piece, Like, what's where you're going on? 00:27:58 Speaker 8: I'll get this week wrap. 00:27:59 Speaker 3: Out of week muscles coming out of his. 00:28:02 Speaker 20: Future hit like muscular ear lowers, every or He was just really like totally roided out. There was the worst possible human at the whole party to bang into. And I found this guy and almost spilled my cranberry juice on him. 00:28:15 Speaker 8: Damn three piece. 00:28:17 Speaker 3: Nick and Irvine, Welcome back, Nick. 00:28:21 Speaker 8: Thank you so much. 00:28:22 Speaker 21: Hall of Famer legend. 00:28:23 Speaker 16: Dan. 00:28:24 Speaker 21: I don't want to talk about your demise. You're gonna live forever, literally for all of us in our heart and our minds. Listen, Dan Dodger season has started, and it's unbelievable. It's like you can make up this stuff, but it's true. You know, Shohey is going for his fourth MVP in a row. Plus he's gonna have twenty to thirty starts, so I'm penciling him in for the cy Young and the envy me. 00:28:52 Speaker 2: Wow, Okay, when Babe Ruth have won, they didn't have it back then, they had the MVP. 00:29:02 Speaker 3: Did he ever have a season when he could have been the Cy Young and MVP. 00:29:11 Speaker 10: Checking because he really went. He only had like a two year overlap pitching and hitting semi full time his best year as a pitcher, Babe Ruth, hole, please. 00:29:20 Speaker 3: Did he win nineteen games? 00:29:22 Speaker 10: He won twenty three, okay in nineteen sixteen, twenty four in nineteen seventeen. And that's also the time he became a full time hitter. So nineteen seventeen he only hit six home runs that year. He was not a full time It didn't overlap full time. 00:29:44 Speaker 2: It's weird, what you know. It's like the triple double. No, let me go back to thirty thirty when you know players stealing thirty and hitting thirty home runs. And I forget who was Maybe it was Mickey Mantle if he said, if I knew this was a big deal, I would have done it every year. It's like the triple double with the NBA. I got to believe that. You know, Jerry West Oscar Robertson, Wilt, all of those guys back in the sixties, if they would have realized that would have been a big deal for a triple double, then you would have had more than one player. I mean, Oscar did it, but it's not like I and I remember, but it's not like I go, oh my god, he averaged you know, double digits and points, rebounds and assists because we didn't call it a triple double. 00:30:29 Speaker 3: But I don't remember. 00:30:31 Speaker 2: When I'd watch games, I would usually focus on just the points somebody was scoring, not rebounds and assists. And then all of a sudden, it felt like Russell Westbrook cracked the code, and he goes, I can average a triple double, I can win the MVP. And here's a six' five guard who's getting double digit rebounds and. Assists not a great, shooter but a great. Scorer and he won The he he won THE mvp because he averaged a triple. Double BUT i don't know IF i don't know If Larry bird, goes how many assists DO i? Have, hey you got? Nine you need one more for a triple? Double or magic would do magic to? Me would have averaged a triple double if he wanted, To like no, Brainer BUT i just don't remember anybody, going let me get double digits in all of. That when din't It Ricky davis who needed a rebound to get a triple? Double they took it away from him because he he kind of created a rebound for. Himself so it became a little bit of a. Thing but then like, Joker i'm surprised when he doesn't have a triple, double but then he, had you, know twenty twenty nineteen. ASSISTS i don't know if he, said you, know leave me in to go twenty twenty. Twenty, Yeah, paulie. 00:31:54 Speaker 7: Going back To Babe, RUTH i did some. Research we talked about this. 00:31:57 Speaker 10: Before according To Baseball, almanac he wanted to keep pitch with The, yankees but The yankees owner was afraid he would ask for way more money by doing two positions at an all star. Level Shoey otani has had thirty nine wins as a, starter he started one hundred. Games he's got one, shutout one complete game in his. Career Babe ruth as a pitcher was ninety four and forty. Six as a, starter he had one hundred and seven complete games and seventeen career. Shouts but again it's a different era of pitching styles. 00:32:28 Speaker 3: And, usage and he didn't Have Tommy john surgery. Either, no, yeah, Yeah, mark. 00:32:34 Speaker 8: You, See Babe ruth only has ONE mvp. 00:32:36 Speaker 3: Award, well but you couldn't win it back to back. Years that's. Insane so they had. Rules it's, like you, know you got yours? 00:32:44 Speaker 2: Now even one feels like now did They when did they start THE mvp, Though so it's really. 00:32:52 Speaker 10: Wonky there was AN mvp before he got, good then it went away as an, award so he had Seasons Babe ruth, like for, example nineteen twenty one he hit three seventy eight with fifty nine homers on one hundred and sixty EIGHT. Rbi nobody won AN mvp that, year so he wasn't. Eligible nobody was. Eligible they brought the award back in nineteen twenty, three and of course he won it hit three ninety three with forty. Homers then the award he was not eligible for it for the next few years because of the repeat, rule you, know like almost like the sixty five game. Rule now you couldn't. Repeat then by the time they brought the award back where anybody could win, it he was passed his. Prime, wow so he has ONE mvp over. 00:33:35 Speaker 2: All, right let me take a break once. Again sausage peppers at the top of the. Hour not, now, Okay, oh don't give me poudy faced. 00:33:46 Speaker 8: Till another twenty. Minute, god this seems a little. 00:33:50 Speaker 2: Harsh all, right we take a. Break more phone calls coming. Up we're back after. 00:33:55 Speaker 1: This Fox Sports radio has the best sports talk lineup in the. Nation catch all of our shows At Foxsports radio dot com and within The iHeartRadio. App SEARCH fsr to listen. Live Se good morning if you're watching On peacock ALSO Nbc Sports. Network ben McCollum Of. Iowa he's forty four years of age and here you are on the cusp of a final four and at that. Age, NOW i just got there To. Iowa he had been successful In division. 00:34:25 Speaker 2: TWO i was At drake and then brought players with him To iowa From drake and at forty, four that's when it feels like you're ready for your next. Job, well it feels Like iowa's been his dream, job but you got there at forty. Four he's born In Iowa. City do you want to stay? There what If kansas comes? Open North carolina is open and it's not like it, was you, know Like Kurt farrens has been there At iowa for, Decades Mark Fewitt, GONZAGA i, mean those those guys are, Dinosaurs Tom, izzo like it just doesn't happen anymore where you're there for twenty. 00:35:10 Speaker 3: Years everybody's bouncing. 00:35:12 Speaker 2: Around by the, way if we're going to be critical of players when they, transfer AND i hear analysts, say, oh you know when it gets tough and then you decide you're going to, TRANSFER i want to know if you're going to say the same thing About Will wade going FROM Nc state after a year back TO. Lsu like two weeks ago he said he wasn't going. Anywhere now he's. 00:35:38 Speaker 3: There one. 00:35:38 Speaker 2: YEAR Nc state gave him a. Chance they you, know they were in the first four in the. Tournament and now he's going TO. 00:35:45 Speaker 3: Lsu so for. 00:35:46 Speaker 2: All this hand ringing of these kids and they don't persevere through tough times and they, transfer just make sure you have the same energy headed towards. Him and, look that's ON lsu that you want to bring him back with what he did while he was, there that's on. You are you trying to tell me there is no one else that you had to bring him? Back BUT i just want to make sure we are not saying two different. Things but you, know movement in college basketball is not judged. Equally loyalty always comes up, players, toughnesses, question administrators rush to claim, tampering and you know when it comes with. Kids but, wait does every right to make the move back TO. LSU lsu says every right to bring him. Back but just the next time when somebody talks about all these, kids it gets tough for him and then they, transfer they get out of a tough. 00:36:45 Speaker 3: Spot they should fight. Through that's the way we. 00:36:48 Speaker 2: Did. 00:36:49 Speaker 3: Well make sure you apply that same energy towards these. Coaches. 00:36:53 Speaker 10: Yampoline you know there's some people out, there congressmen and other heavyweights in college sports that want more rules about. 00:36:59 Speaker 8: Income. 00:37:00 Speaker 10: Freshmen you get five years of eligibility and you could transfer once on the. House and the second one is like the old days where you had to sit out a. Year what if they, said, okay but we'll do the same with, coaches and there's some rule that if you take a, job you can't leave after one year without some type of major penalty or major sit. Out the coaches would never sign up for, that so why would you institute it on the? 00:37:22 Speaker 2: Kids AND i think it used to be if you transferred in the, conference you had to sit out two, Years so they really were trying to make sure that you stayed and if you did, transfer you had to sit out a. 00:37:36 Speaker 6: Year, yeah that's part of my problem with that sort of like inconsistency that you're talking about with loyalty is that sometimes coaches leave and the way that that affects the players that are. Remaining oftentimes there's a player coming in that was just recruited by those guys and now that guy just. Left, well, wait NOW i have to get what re recruited to go to this other. School sometimes they don't take everybody with. Them AM i going to lose my? Scholarship? Now what if the end coming coach has his own guy that wants somebody. Else, now you, know there's a lot of dominoes to, Like, hey the guy's just chasing a new, patcheck what's wrong with? 00:38:07 Speaker 9: That or? 00:38:07 Speaker 3: Whatever it affects way more people than. That monica In, Raleigh Hi, monica what's on your mind? Today hello? Y'all happy Meet? Friday who has it better than you? 00:38:19 Speaker 19: Do?
