591: 15 Transactions for Week 14

Thanks for tuning in. I know it's a different time of year. Most trade deadlines have passed, so buy and sell recommendations don't mean what they meant back in weeks like six or seven. I get it. I want to provide the most useful information as I possibly can on this show. So as we inch closer to the end of the Fantasy season, the transactions on this show and might call him over on Number Fire, they're gonna be far more waiver wire focused. I'll throw in some buy and sell recommendations that will help you know whether you should feel confident or not about certain players. But I know what you guys need. You need to know who to add off the waiver wire, not just for the current week, but up coming weeks as well, so you'll hear more players to add on today's show than usual. That's intentional, and I hope it makes it more useful. Your goal is to add as much value on your roster as possible, and Russell Gage has value right now in fantasy. He's finished in the weekly top twenty a wide receiver in PPR formats and three of his last five and he's hit at least at twenty five percent target chair in four of those games. In Week thirteen, he had a thirty percent target chair and he had twenty two PPR points that was a season high in bow statistics. Now, I will say from here on out, the Falcons don't have a great schedule for a guy like Russell Gage. That's at least according to my adjusted Fantasy points allowed methodology. All four games that the Falcons have through Week seventeen, they feature opponents who rank in the bottom half of the league and adjusted fantasy points allowed. But given his peripherals, given his production, Russell Gage should be added. Add kJ Osborne. Adam Thielen has a high ankle spring and at the very least he's probably gonna miss the Vikings game against the Steelers on Thursday night because there's a short week at the time of this recording, though I don't know officially how long he's supposed to be out, but either way, enter kJ Osbourne. He's seen twelve and a half percent of Minnesota's targets this season, and he's had some spiked weeks here and there of target chairs in the upper teens without feeling. For most of Sunday's game against the Lions, Osborne saw seven venteen percent of the Vikings targets. He also found the end zone and scored fourteen point seven PPR points, and according to Pro Football Focus, he ran just one fewer route than Justin Jefferson in that game. So he's worth an ad because this offense is not a bad one for wide receivers. He should see some volume. Sell Michael Pittman. Now again, I know that your trade deadline is probably already passed. I'm just giving Michael Pittman a shout here because I don't really love his schedule down the stretch. Over the last month or so, Pittman hasn't been this super dominant fantasy asset, but he's getting a lot of work in his offense. He has a twenty four point two percent target chair on the season, and he's coming off a game against the Texans where he had a thirty six point four percent target chair. He didn't find the end zone, but he still scored seventeen PPR points. The talent is there. I like Michael Pittman a lot. The volume's there. He's seeing a high target chair and he's seeing a lot of targets as well. It's just the schedule that's what scares me a little bit. Indianapolis gets a buy in Week fourteen, so he's not even usable this week. But in week fifteen they get New England. We know that New England's secondary is good. In week sixteen and seventeen, they get Arizona and Vegas, two teams that rank in the bottom ten as opponents for wide receivers. And that's according to adjusted Fantasy points allowed. Now, as I always say on the show, volume Trump's matchup, it's not like Michael Pittman is someone that you should drop because these opponents are tough. I'm just saying the temper expectations a little bit drop Carson Wentz. So obviously, if the schedule is bad for Michael Pittman, it's probably bad for Carson Wentz as well. And Wentz is rostered in seventy percent of Yahoo leagues right now when you strictly look at the fantasy playoffs though, so weeks fifteen through seventeen, Indianapolis has the toughest quarterback schedule in the entire league according to adjusted Fantasy points allowed. A lot of you probably have Carson Wentz in your team as your QB two. He's been a backup for you, But how much usability is he really going to have against some of these matchups? Because of that, I would rather use my roster spot on someone else ad Marquez Valdez Scantling. So MVS is still available in over eighty percent of Yahoo leagues. It seems like that number should be lower. He's seen target shares of thirty two percent and twenty and a half percent over his last two games, and we know he has big playability. He's seen a lot of air yards in that offense since his return from injury in Week nine. He leads the Packers and air yards, and from weeks nine through twelve they to buy last week. If you just look at weeks nine through twelve, he ranked third in the entire NFL in total air yards. And the Packers have a decent schedule in the playoffs too. They get the Ravens, who just lost Marlin Humphrey in Week fifteen, then the Browns, and then they get the team that's allowing the most adjusted phantasy points per game to wide receivers. That's Minnesota. And if you recall, MVS already had a big game against the Vikings this year. He had a thirty two percent target share against them and he scored twenty two fantasy points. So he's not a bad ad off the waiver wire this week ad Jordan Howard. So look, let's be honest. The Eagles his backfield has been tough to figure out all season long, but on Sunday we did see Miles Sanders the pretty nice workload. He carried the ball career high twenty four times, but once again he suffered an ankle injury. Now, the Eagles fortunately have a bye this week, but has become a lingering issue for Sanders, and that's what makes Jordan Howard a little appealing right now. Sanders is and likely will be the lead back for the Eagles, but Howard was stealing work from Sanders in Week eleven against the Saints, and he was productive without Sanders for a stretch earlier in the season. In weeks eight, nine and ten games without Miles Sanders, Howard averaged thirteen PPR points per game. He had a running back rush are per game of forty six point four percent, and he carried the ball on average fourteen times per game. Most importantly, hid eight carries from within the opponent's ten yard line over this stretch. That's more than double any other Eagles player. Now, he's been banged up with a knee injury himself. That's why he didn't play this past week. But to me, aside from Miles Sanders, he has the most upside in the Philadelphia Bay, so he's worth a dart this week off the waver wire just in case Miles Sanders is not ready to roll in week fifteen, and honestly, Jordan Howard might just steal work naturally even if Miles Sanders is healthy. Ad Devonte Parker. The Dolphins got Devonte Parker back in Week thirteen. He ended up running a route on almost seventy five percent of two a tongue of Violo's dropbacks. He ran just five fewer routes in Jalen Waddle, that's according to Pro Football Focus, and he saw five targets and he caught all five of those targets for sixty two yards. He ended up having just a twelve point two percent target share, but in his five games prior to this one, he was averaging a target share per game of almost twenty five percent. Now, maybe that number is inflated a little bit because Jalen Waddle hadn't fully broken out yet, but it's a good sign regardless. Parker's still out there. In about half of Yahoo leagues, and your league mates may not be into him this week because the Dolphins have a bye, but when they come back from that buy they get the Jets, Saints, and Titans. Those are three very good opponents for wide receivers, the Titans in the Saints specifically, they rank in the top five this season and adjusted fantasy points allowed to wide receivers add to a tongue of ioloa. So along those lines, Tua works too. It's a plus schedule for Devonte Parker and it's a plus schedule for Tua. I mean, at the very least in Week fifteen, Tua gainst the Jets, and that's a team that ranks is the fourth best opponent for quarterbacks and adjusted fantasy points allowed. So if you've been streaming quarterbacks and you're looking ahead, I think that TUA makes a lot of sense. And again, not a lot of people are gonna be looking to add them this week because they have a bye. By Brandon Ayuk. So Brandon Ayuk had a pretty average performance, maybe below average performance on Sunday against Seattle. He caught three of his six targets for just fifty five yards, But on the plus side, he saw yet another twenty percent target share. That was his sixth straight game of hitting that mark. Across his first six games, his target shap per game average was eight percent. And like a lot of the players that I'm gonna talk about today, I'm calling Brandon Ayuk out because his playoff schedule is pretty appealing. In week fifteen through seventeen, the forty nine Ers get the Falcons, Titans, and Texans. Those are three very good matchups wide receivers when looking at adjusted fantasy points allowed. San Francisco has a top five schedule during these fantasy playoffs. So that makes Ayuk a nice by low, or to think of it another way, you should feel more confident in Brandon Ayuk versus how he actually performed in Week thirteen. Add Trey Lance. Look, some of you guys just need upside on your bench, specifically at the quarterback position, and I think that Trey Lance still has that upside. There's still a very very good chance, and I gotta be transparent about this, there's still a very very good chance that Jimmy Garoppolo just plays out the entire season as starter. But if that doesn't happen, that good schedule that I just talked about with Brandon Ayuk. That's Trey Lance's schedule. The Falcons and the Titans are top three teams and adjusted points allowed to quarterbacks, and the Texans are at That's mostly the result of gamescript. I mean, Jimmy Garoppolo himself could be a streamer through the playoffs, but we know that Trey Lance has tons of upside with his rushing ability, as we saw earlier this season against Arizona where he ran the ball sixteen times for eighty nine yards. So Lance versus Garoppolo is absolutely the ceiling play add Ricky Seals Jones. So Logan Thomas came back from his hamstring injury and he's played two games. In Week twelve, he had a seventeen point six percent target share against the Seahawks. His past weekend that number was seventeen point two percent, and against Vegas he had thirteen point eight PPR points. But unfortunately, Logan Thomas suffered a knee injury. At first that injury was thought to be an ACL, but on Monday it was announced that it wasn't an ACL, So that's good. At the time of this recording, I don't know how long Logan. Thomas is going to be out, but it sounds like he's gonna at least miss some time. So enter our old pal, Rickey Seals Jones. Now. Rsj's been dealing with a hip injury himself and he was inactive in Week thirteen, but he did get some limited practices in last week. So because of this Thomas injury, the football team may just push it with Seals Jones because he was effective without Thomas earlier this season. In four completed games without Thomas, Seals Jones average a sixteen point four percent target share per game and he scored eleven plus fantasy points twice, so he's a decent streamer. Ad Breshad Perriman, So you might be confused why you just heard Breshad Perriman's name because on Sunday he had one catch for five yards, But the Buccaneers clearly utilized him differently. You know, over the last handful of weeks, Tyler Johnson has been the number three wide receiver for the Bucks. He's run the third most routes, he's played the third most snaps. That was Breshad Perriman. In Week thirteen. He didn't do a whole lot while Mike Evans and Chris Godwin did, but that was likely because the Falcons put Ajterrell on him for the majority of the game. According to ESPN's Mike Clay, they did the same thing with Antonio Brown earlier this season. The same thing happened. Evans and Godwin had usable weeks. Ab had one catch for seventeen yards. The fact that Paraman saw a big bump and playing time is a great sign. He was on the field for eighty four percent of Tampa Bay snaps. He ran just two fewer routes than Godwin, and he ran three fewer than Mike Evans. I don't think he's gonna become some like plug and play option, but there could be some usability given the offense that he's in, especially in deeper formats, and especially because Antonio Brown is currently not playing ad Cam Newton. Now, look, I don't feel great about recommending Cam Newton after what he did the last time we saw this Panthers offense. I'm just saying that he is a viable streamer here in Week fourteen because the Panthers get the Falcons, and the Falcons defense is now second in adjusted Fantasy points allowed to quarterbacks. We've seen players like Taylor Heineke and Tu Toungue of Ioloa finished his top five options against Atlanta this season. So starting Cam Newton. Yes, it's incredibly risky, but there aren't many streamers out there and the matchup is definitely there. Add the Green Bay Packers defense. The Packers get the Bears this week. According to Fandals Sportsbook, they're twelve and a half point favorites and the over under in that game is just forty four. To put that another way, the Bears aren't projected to score a lot and the defense for the Packers should be in a positive game script. And the Bears offense has allowed three or more sacks and six of their last seven games, and they've a lot of top ten defensive performance in two of their last three. I mean, the bottom line is that this is a process play. You always want to play big home favorites for your defensive streamer. Buy the Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense. If you were considering dropping Tampa Bay in Week fourteen because they get the Bills, please do not. Not only has Tampa Bay's defense been solid in fantasy this year, but their playoff schedule it's arguably the best in fantasy football. In Week fifteen, they get the Saints. In Week sixteen, the Panthers. In Week seventeen, they get the Jets. None of those opposing offenses should scare you at all, and two of them, the Panthers and the Jets, they ranking the top five as opponents and adjusted points allowed. So hold on to the Buccaneers defense. The sixteen transaction this week that you can't get my fifteen transactions call him over on number fire dot com is to add Rashadpenny. Adrian Peterson out attempted Penny in Week thirteen eleven to ten. Travis Homer saw three touches as well in the ground, but Week thirteen marked the first time that Rashad Penny saw double digit touches in a game since Week thirteen and twenty nineteen. It's been two years. And in backfields that are so up in the air, like the one that we see in Seattle, I'm gonna go for the player who has the most potential, the most upside. Adrian Peterson was just cut by a team that needs running backs. That's telling, and Travis Homer didn't come close to the other two running backs and touches against the forty nine ers. Now, I understand expecting a lot from Rashad Penny is probably not wise, but I do think he's trending in the right direction. So if you won an upside play, I think he makes sense as an ad this week given what we saw in week thirteen. That's gonna do it for today's show, though. Thanks to all of you for listening.
