And we're gonna get to the art of the mixtape. But you know, I heard Isaac Lolohecrown say something in his update, Isaac, I do listen. 00:02:15 Speaker 2: Isn't that crazy? That makes one of us? I heard you mentioned the name Russell Wilson. Yeah, did you see him for the Savannah Bananas over the weekend? No, he was looking at he took marge and in charge, he. 00:02:26 Speaker 1: Took it at bat grounded out. But you know, he has a nice cut, multiple sport athlete back in the day. He's looking like me in two thousand and two, and a lot of people are physique right now. People were saying he looked very Kirby Pucket rest in peace, very Kirby Pucket esque. And I want to just ask you guys, right out the gate is a baseball uniform, if snug, the least flattering uniform in sports. Ask Chris Christy and tell me what you think I mean. Spots playing the video right now on our YouTube feed. Rust Honestly, hey, it's off season. Though in his defense, you see any fighter when they're not in training, any football player when they're not game ready, they don't all walk around, you know, at that playing weight. 00:03:14 Speaker 2: You know what I mean. And I'm not one to judge. I'm not mister Ripplepecks. 00:03:18 Speaker 1: I'm say, one bad weekend, I'm tipping his scales over two hundred bills easy. 00:03:22 Speaker 2: I'm gonna call you mister ripple Pecks. 00:03:23 Speaker 1: Now it's my new But this guy, yeah, this guy thinks he's slim, good body, right to sta. But it did make me think though, that, my goodness, if you wear a snug baseball uniform for a charity event or something like that, it really is like, it's so unflattering. Unless you really are a slender, slim guy. 00:03:44 Speaker 3: It looks like you're gonna pop the buttons. 00:03:46 Speaker 1: Dude, everyone looks like Bartolo Cologne in a baseball uniform, even if you're unless you're like again, super slim. The weakest part of that story because my brother and sister were there at that Savannah Banana game at Yankee State. They welcome the Great Bam Tino Tino Martinez in front of fifty five thousand New York Yankees fans, and he's there in the same uniform. He's looking pretty good. You know, he's older now and he's waving. Everyone's pumped areas World Series champion Yankees legend. 00:04:19 Speaker 2: Give it up for Tino Martina. 00:04:21 Speaker 1: Oh Bamtino. He goes up there and he's taking pitches. He's playing for the Bananas. And who's pitching like someone from the Clowns or the Warriors or something. He's taking pitches hardy animals. He strikes out on three pitches. 00:04:34 Speaker 2: Let's hear it for Tino. That's it. 00:04:38 Speaker 1: You don't groove one for the Yankee legend who's there giving up his own time for the Bananas. I find that to be absurd. Let the guy get a hit. What are you trying to get your rock soft striking out an old guy groove on Patino the way like Gino was grooved one in his last step out. 00:04:53 Speaker 2: No, dude, this isn't real. I get it. 00:04:56 Speaker 1: The Bananas don't always win. It's not like the Globetrotters, so they're playing in their and their best. But he's the guest of honor, he's the guy that hit World Series home runs at Yankee Stadium. You don't groove them one, just that of courtesy based on the popularity of the Savannah Bananas. Before we get into hey way, I don't want to dump on it. My family said they had a blast before we get into it. You know, quote real baseball. We'll talk about the Phillies making moves, the Red Sox making moves, mean, while the Mets are still sitting on their thumb. We'll get to baseball. We'll get to NBA playoffs. We're gonna get to all this stuff. But I do have to ask. A year ago, I posed a question to you, and I want to know if your mind has changed. No, he hasn't, Okay, I said to Coven a year ago, and I'm curious with the krawn Isasagloone Crown and Danny g think. I said, with the popularity of the Savannah Bananas, you see a listeners coming out to the game now former retired Legends Broadway performances on the field. That was pretty cool, right, it was insane. They did a hold on Latin Sketch over the weekend at Yankee Stadium. They sell out everywhere they go. 00:05:58 Speaker 2: I know. 00:05:58 Speaker 1: So when you see the popularity of the bananas, I give him so much product. And I said, Cavino, you have the opportunity to take part in a Savannah bananas bit on the field where you throw out a first pitch or taken a bad or do a little song and dance or something with the Savannah bananas, or throw out a first pitch at a Colorado Rockies game. 00:06:17 Speaker 2: What are you picking? 00:06:19 Speaker 1: The MLB is still the MLB and is still more of an honor MLB something I grew up with Savannah bananas. I'm not going to say it's a fad, but you know, it's just the thing right now, could last for the rest of our lives, and I wish them all the best. I hold my ground. I stick with major League Baseball, real baseball opportunity because it says a lot more to me as a kid that collected the cards, as a kid that loved baseball wanted to play in the big leagues. Isasa Glome crown you on stilts throwing out a first pitch or the Colorado Rockies in front of two thousand people? Yeah, he's saying in front of two thousand people for the Rockies, or in front of fifty five thousand packed at a Savannah Banana in. 00:06:57 Speaker 2: A crowd of kids and families and everyone's having fun. 00:07:01 Speaker 1: It's still like, do you want to be at the circus or you want to be part of something legitimate. 00:07:05 Speaker 4: Admittedly, right now, the bananas simply have more peel. 00:07:14 Speaker 3: Yeah, my love, he'll be here till Tuesday. 00:07:19 Speaker 2: Why but he's got a peel life cow without banana. 00:07:24 Speaker 5: By the way, Rich, it's not exactly fair to Rockies and their fans. They approximately average twenty eight thousand fans a game. 00:07:31 Speaker 1: You know, I should say the Mets exactly should I should say my Mets Where tickets are now six dollars, it's more expensive to get a Taco Bell crunch raft. 00:07:40 Speaker 6: That it is to go to a city field. Yeah, I think that's an indictment on Taco Bell, though. 00:07:43 Speaker 1: They're both in honor, but one holds a lot more credibility as simple as that. But all the credit in the world to what they've built. It's amazing. It's fun for the family. But yeah, Russell Wilson looking a little thick in that yellow pinstripe uniform, Tino Martinez, they should have grooved them one. But either way, enjoy it. It's getting kids involved. And we'll talk more baseball here on the show. And by the way, shout outs to Derek Klenna. We're not going to talk more about the clip here, but look it up for yourself if you haven't seen that kid. He was a Tony Award, a Tony Award nominee, so he's a Broadway star and he was also a big time pitcher in his high school college. 00:08:20 Speaker 2: Come up, did you see this guy? He did like a whole song and dance of Disney songs in Broadway hands he's on the bananas now, and yeah, he's on the bananas. 00:08:28 Speaker 1: And then after doing this whole ridiculously beautiful performance, hops on the mound and starts throwing ninety mile an hour heat. Incredible if you haven't seen it, it went viral over the weekend. Definitely worth the watch. But you know what it does. It really does it forces the MLB's hand to be more entertaining. And I think we've seen a little bit of that with the WBC and everything we're witnessing this season. You know, more theatrics, more fun. It's baseball. I think at this stage of the game, if you go to City Field to see the Mets, there should be a chance they pull you out of the crowd to put you on the team. You know, I wouldn't be surprised. I think that's the next move. And I just saw Juan Soto and Luis Robert Junior are both saying they have tightness and stiffness and their day to day. 00:09:07 Speaker 2: What are we doing? 00:09:08 Speaker 1: This might be the this might be and Danny g I know the lead should be the Phillies fired the manager and the Red Sox fire the manager. But in my mind the bigger lead is yet the Mets have not well. 00:09:19 Speaker 5: I do like the angle of the what can you do in life for six dollars? 00:09:24 Speaker 1: Well, I think they tie together actually, because it's all the bottom dollar, right, It's all the bottom line, And if you're trying to pack the stadium, in order to do that, you have to tell the bananas to play there, or have six dollars tickets to see the Mets because nobody wants to go because of the product you're putting out there. I think when they're getting hit in the pocket like this, they're forced to fire their manager and eventually it's gonna happen. So today Rob Thompson of the Phillies fired Don Mattingly. One of my heroes is the interim and he should be the coach former coach of the year with flow. So don Mattingly, Donnie Baseball is the head coach, interim head coach in Philadelphia. Alex Cora obviously fired a whole staff fired in Boston till before May, sort of unprecedented, unprecedented, and Mendoza probably next. So are you surprised that they went before Mendoza. It's bound to happen because you can't go the rest of the season charging six dollars for tickets, and the only way to get people back in the seats is to prove that you're shaking it up and that you're willing to shake it up and do whatever it takes to put results out on the field to get people to come back and pay regular price. 00:10:36 Speaker 3: Especially when you have the Knicks in town, who are going to be sold out at the Garden tonight trying to snap that to two tie against the Hawks. Rich. 00:10:44 Speaker 5: I know you've seen over the past twenty four hours, forty eight hours all the different memes saying this is six dollars and whatever, this ticket is always how about this. 00:10:54 Speaker 3: Though, this is really crazy? 00:10:56 Speaker 5: You can buy eighty eight tickets to tonight's met to the Nats at Mets on four point thirty for the same price as one ticket to Hawks and Knicks tonight at the Garden, eighty eight Mets tickets is the equivalents. 00:11:10 Speaker 3: That's crazy. 00:11:11 Speaker 2: It's terrible. 00:11:12 Speaker 1: Six six dollars for a Mets ticket or six dollars and thirty nine cents for a Taco Bell crunch Trap Supreme. That's the that's the viral me. Yeah, we said that. It's also or you know, I just got two tacos a because it's Taco Tuesday. Much better deal for under six dollars. Yeah, and you get way more food. A Taco Bell vent they drink is the same price as a Mets ticket. So therefore, to put the seats, to fill the seats, I should say they're going to have to fire their manager, because that's the only thing that's going to send the signal to the fans like, hey, we're trying to salvage to season. Here, Hey we fired Mindoza. We need you to come back, and maybe that light's a spark for the rest of the team. It's really embarrassing at this point. Here's a question to feel these have done it the red sign. If the Red Sox have done it, the Mets are going to have to do it, and it's unfortunate to Mendoza, even when you got guys on the team like Soto saying it's not his fault. 00:12:05 Speaker 2: Everyone's falls on the players. He's doing his job. 00:12:08 Speaker 1: Every player is saying the right thing, and they're vouching saying Mendoz is a great leader, is doing everything right. But if we all know, and I think we could all agree on a couple things. If gms in front offices make more day to day decisions than they used to when we were kids, right, Like a lot of managers talk about how front office folks are actually putting their input on lineups, roster moves, bullpen moves. So if the manager doesn't even have full control and the players are playing like ass on the field, the manager's sole job seems to be to fire them up. 00:12:40 Speaker 2: And if they're nine and nineteen. 00:12:43 Speaker 1: I'm gonna say this, and I need you to see if I'm just being a homer, being that I'm a New York Mets fan. If the Mets finish this season with like sixty seventy something wins and they're way under five hundred, couldn't you argue it's the biggest discret of a professional sports season in the history of sports, based on payroll, based on based on expectations like there's Has there ever been a team with a with a payroll like that in a major market that under delivered that much? 00:13:13 Speaker 7: Here? 00:13:13 Speaker 1: Have there been teams that stalled in the playoffs. But would it be the biggest letdown of a team in the history of sports. 00:13:19 Speaker 2: In the history of sports, No question. Think of another one. 00:13:24 Speaker 1: You can't because because of the payroll and the superstars that they got, if they I. 00:13:29 Speaker 5: Would say the other one that comes up, and not necessarily because of the money, but because of the lineup is when Carl Malone joined the Lakers thinking it was gonna win a ring. 00:13:36 Speaker 1: Oh no that, but they made the playoffs and just lost the finals. They made the finals from to the Pistons. 00:13:41 Speaker 5: Correct, yeah, correct, But if yeah, if your high payroll can even crack the playoffs. 00:13:46 Speaker 2: Dude, when teams like the Nationals and the Marlins are you know, a handful of games better than you, and these are teams that like have no resources compared to you, it's really embarrassed. 00:13:57 Speaker 1: Professional baseball tickets for six bucks. They're begging people to come because the fans are that frustrated with the team. My daughter's cheerleading competition tickets were eleven bucks, so they put that in perspective. 00:14:10 Speaker 2: Like you said before, did you sit next to Belichick or the competition? It's weird. Bill Belichick was there. It was weird. Cavi Heno Belichick. He was cheering on his daughter. Bill is cheering on his golf. 00:14:20 Speaker 1: We've said it. We're the same guy. I guess I was wondering why he was there. Mets First Nationals. The cost to get to the game and back on the subway six dollars. Solve to get there and back at six dollars, the tickets are are six dollars. Is a twelve dollars night out to see the Mets, which sounds great and all, but it just goes to show you how pathetic they are and how done the fans are at this point with the team. So, man, I feel sorry for you Rich And I'm telling you the fact that the Mets did this and the Red Sox did this all before May, it only makes things harder for the Mets. Not fire Mendoza, Well, Phillies, their fans got to be at least pumped that you make a big decision like that. 00:15:06 Speaker 2: As my buddy Rob Parker, you know, the MLB bro him self here at Fox Sports Radio. 00:15:12 Speaker 3: Uh huh ah. 00:15:14 Speaker 1: Rob Parker reminded me yesterday that last time the Phillies shook it up with a big managerial change, Remember they got rid of Girardi and what happened. They went to the series. I knew that they were struggling, said make a move, and at that time Joe Girardi was a hot commodity. 00:15:31 Speaker 2: Struggling and they moved on. And you've seen it before. 00:15:35 Speaker 1: Team's total vibe could change based on leadership, and the Red Sox are pulling. They pulled the trigger. Same with the Phillies. If the Mets stigma Mendoza, it's just like fools move the fans have no faith, don't you want it? Like Danny, we always talk about this, like in any sport, when management and ownership just sits there doing nothing. What confidence that give the fans that they care? 00:16:00 Speaker 5: But then there's the other question, because all of us fans are always like, get rid of this person, get rid of that person. Who do you replace him with? You're the Mets fan, I know you have that Korea dude, the bench coach. He's like a rising star in. 00:16:12 Speaker 1: Kara is a rising star. Others are saying, should Beltron get his shot? And then others are saying, Alex Cora passed on the Phillies job. 00:16:20 Speaker 2: Alex Cora, I. 00:16:22 Speaker 1: Mean a guy that's been proven options there and he's respected in New York. He's apparently been talking to Boonie and what are they talking about? Maybe how's coaching in New York? Who knows what they're talking about? 00:16:35 Speaker 5: And this time you need a guy who gets fired up, Rich, Yeah, because Mendoza. 00:16:39 Speaker 2: Is just he's a chill and up. He's a great guy. 00:16:42 Speaker 1: Right, That's the thing, Like you know, you don't No one says this in a way where it's like, Yo, Mendoza, I hate the guy. 00:16:48 Speaker 2: Seems like a really good dude. 00:16:50 Speaker 1: But if you're not firing up this particular group of twenty six men, then dude. 00:16:55 Speaker 2: You gotta go bring back Charlie Manuel. 00:16:57 Speaker 3: He's eighty two. 00:16:58 Speaker 4: What do you do? 00:16:59 Speaker 2: What do you do it? 00:17:00 Speaker 7: Dad? 00:17:00 Speaker 3: Rich? 00:17:00 Speaker 1: Are you gonna let your kids suffer and try to be Mets fans? Are you gonna let them root for the Dodgers and just call it a day? 00:17:07 Speaker 2: I think I might. 00:17:09 Speaker 1: I feel like that Mets are just forcing your hand. I feel like they are. I was trying to I was trying to do the balance. Like you know, guys, dad grew up a Mets man, but you collect the Dodgers too. I have friends that are telling me, why are you torturing them? They live in LA, they're LA kids like this, Like what you know? It could affect their confidence. It really could because rooting for the Yankees, as you know, a nineties kid growing up, those are my formidable years as a high school and college kid. 00:17:37 Speaker 2: I feel like it gave me a lot of confidence. Oh my god. You know what the grossest thing would be. 00:17:40 Speaker 1: What if I deferred them to Uncle Steve over here and been like, my son's name is Ben. What if I'm like Ben Benny barrels Man, like Ben Rice. Your name could be Benny Barrel, Benny barrels Man, like Ben Rice, Ben a Ross. But my point is, like, I feel like it does impact your psyche a little bit. It makes you feel a certain way, Like, you know, if you're a Chicago Cubs fan from back in the. 00:17:59 Speaker 2: Day, lovable losers. 00:18:01 Speaker 1: You know, if you're a Red Sox fan who hadn't won all those years. There's like an attitude about you, right an underdog sort of attitude. If you're if you're growing up a Mets fan right now, you kind of like are like a letdown. Like if you live out here, you want to provide your kid with that sort of mentality if you don't have to, Like if you live out here in LA and you're a Clippers fan, I'm always like, well, look at you, like what what? 00:18:23 Speaker 2: How? How'd that happen? 00:18:26 Speaker 1: I feel like it does mold your personality somewhat. So Rich has a choice to make because we're living out here in Los Angeles, they're little LA kids. Rich forcing upon his weak ass Mets right now is not doing them any good. But are there other things that you'd rather pay six dollars for than Mets tickets at this point? Because you really can't get much for six dollars nowadays. I'm not that guy. That's a fair weather dude. But I was thinking about taking my kids down to Anaheim on Friday night to go see the Mets Angels, and I firmly believe they don't really deserve my support right now. I know that sounds like, oh me, like I don't know. I feel like a lot of people would feel that way. Like, so I'm gonna drive two hours in traffic down to down to Anaheim to watch the Mets Angels when the Mets are doing nothing to make moves for a team like is what one of the top parental moves? Like you never reward bad behavior and they're putting some bad product down on the field. 00:19:16 Speaker 6: Why are you running with your presence? Those tickets might be even cheaper. Yeah, let's go, Rich, come on, I'll drive. 00:19:23 Speaker 2: It's we can say we might be able to like sit actual on the bench. 00:19:27 Speaker 6: For two dollars for fifty bucks. 00:19:30 Speaker 5: I was going to ask you, is somebody in our YouTube chat asked what are the premium seats going for? Like obviously six dollars? 00:19:36 Speaker 2: Is that the opotions? 00:19:37 Speaker 1: But I'd bet you know what, my guess is under one hundred because usually realistically, if you sat on the field level at City Field, buck fifty probably like you know, one hundred and fifty bucks or one twenty five, two hundred something like that, you know. 00:19:48 Speaker 2: Good seats. 00:19:49 Speaker 1: I can't imagine them being one hundred. Now, right, Mets Nationals? What a trash game? 00:19:54 Speaker 2: That is? Man? Rich. 00:19:58 Speaker 6: We can go to so the series is coming up May first. A third, right, we can go for upper level seats between ten and sixteen bucks per ticket. 00:20:07 Speaker 1: I mean it is a wheel of a steal of a deal. R you know, when you realize why they're so cheap, it's so sad. 00:20:13 Speaker 3: Yeah. 00:20:13 Speaker 6: Affordability versus watching a winning product. Yeah, that's the debate because no one wants to go because the product's so bad. But they're a team that was expected to be so good. I don't want to be all over the place. But we talk over the years a lot about fairweather fans. What makes you a front runner? All that type of you know, sports talk, Right, is that being fair. 00:20:34 Speaker 1: Weather or is that not rewarding bad behavior? Bad behavior like product? Like if I'm like, you know, I was gonna bring my kids in the Mets Angels and go down to Anaheim and make a night out of It's interesting you say that because you could be the biggest fan of I don't know, fill in the blank. I don't want to call out like a PF. Chang's or something, right, but if you have bad service over and over again, you stop going. That's just how life works in a way. 00:20:55 Speaker 2: Right. 00:20:56 Speaker 1: With fandom, It's a little different though, because it's so part of your idea identity and your culture and your background and where you're from and your grandpappy And are. 00:21:05 Speaker 3: You truly supporting your team? 00:21:07 Speaker 5: Because that's the key word my mom taught us as little kids, Like the Monday after a bad loss for your NFL team, where your gear? Okay, and get in front of it, like if kids wanted to tease you or whatever whatever. I'm a real fan, and so I always made it a point to have my Raider gear on the Monday after a loss. After a big win, it's like more casual, because are you a fan supporting them in their roughest times or you just there for the good time? 00:21:33 Speaker 1: I agree, it's a test of your character, right what you only ride with them when things are high. That's why I asked the question because this is a great example today a compromise. I think you don't have to turn your back on the team, but you also don't have to like throw your money out of me. Maybe you could argue, like Rich, if you were a true fan, now is the time to support them, Like do I take the family down? And you know what's gonna happen. I mean, I'm not gonna sit in bed seat. So you talk about it's hard for you to support them when Soto doesn't he want to play. What I'm saying is, you know, I'd probably go get better seats, which means is it. Am I gonna spend the thousand dollars night for a for a team that is trash? 00:22:11 Speaker 2: Right now? 00:22:12 Speaker 5: It's hard, But later this season, if your team turns it around, you could say I was there when it was sucking at its worst. 00:22:20 Speaker 4: And here's one other positive note. The La Times reports that the concession stand at Angel Stadium that was closed because of rodent infestation is cleaned and is expected to reopen Friday against. 00:22:34 Speaker 2: Lily. First in line got perfect. 00:22:36 Speaker 6: That about the best time to go to the concession stand, right after it gets Ah. 00:22:39 Speaker 1: You know, it's like the press. It's like a hotel opening up. It's like we just got rid of the bed bunks. 00:22:45 Speaker 2: You want to be the first person find a book. 00:22:46 Speaker 3: Let's go. 00:22:47 Speaker 2: Let me ask you this, what are you thinking? You know, let's not play guessing games. I'll tell you. We can move on. So many other things to talk about. But I know med. 00:22:53 Speaker 1: Ticket prices because I used to have, like we used to have season tickets could be no you and I when we worked at SNY. I know the prices field level, you know, roughly behind one of the dugouts, five ten twenty rows up like good seats any given day would be one twenty five to one fifty minimum, right, that would be like sort of the gauge right now, you could sit right a little beyond first base, a little beyond first base before the grass of the outfield even starts like the end of the infield. Thirty seven dollars, So sad it is what or six dollars? 00:23:27 Speaker 2: As the story goes, is this the nineties? We're live from the Fox Sports Radio studio Covino and Rich and Mets tickets are six dollars now, which forces the hand as a business decision. 00:26:59 Speaker 2: We got to pack the sea. 00:27:00 Speaker 1: We got a fireman dooz at a show that fans were willing to do something for six dollars, Rich, would you rather buy Mets tickets? 00:27:06 Speaker 2: I looked it up. 00:27:07 Speaker 1: According to Ai hell Get Everson, you can get coffees and pastries. I said, what could you get for one hundred and six bucks? Used books toiletries, small toys, or specialty food items like deli bowls or chocol uts. Yeah, or anything at five below. That's what we can't answer you get when you ask ai, I'd rather get any of those things and sit through a Mets game right now, when when no one seems to even want to be on to win it. Amazon fines you could get a travel sized Sensini, toothpaste, dishwasher and cleaning detergents and magnets for five to seventy nine, or a toy car, two candles. 00:27:49 Speaker 2: A quarter pounds of chicken salad. At Ralph's. 00:27:50 Speaker 1: You can get two scented candles with a bamboo lid for under six bucks. You could get Yo yo toys, bad toys, and keychains for under six bucks. According to a city Field city Field and watch Wan Soto not play. 00:28:05 Speaker 5: Now you get two items at the dollar store because everything in there now is like two ninety nine. 00:28:08 Speaker 1: I buy that for a dollar, man, I could I could buy a five bucks. 00:28:13 Speaker 2: I could buy some marigold to the front yard. There you go, Danny g who we got? 00:28:17 Speaker 3: Uh, let's see Boise Bob wants to weigh in on your what bub. 00:28:21 Speaker 7: Rich all due respect to Isaac's diligence and getting hard hitting stories to us. But somebody needs to break the truth to you, my friend. They didn't cure a rat infestation. The rats heard that the Mets are coming to town and they decided to relocate back the job. 00:28:37 Speaker 2: Yeah, the rats are like, the Mets are infesting this place. We gotta go. That's funny, man, thank you. That's good. All right. 00:28:45 Speaker 1: So there's another story that we got to talk about, unfortunately, and it involves the art of the mixtape. I really want to just focus on that, okay, because I don't want to be I don't know, I don't want to be the guy that's talking like salacious headlines, especially when the people involved I haven't spoken out yet. I mean, Mike Rable did. There's a story today he's cured, by the way, what do you mean, I don't know. He went to something, he's background, he's cured. 00:29:18 Speaker 3: I missed the second half of the draft. 00:29:20 Speaker 2: Did you see. 00:29:20 Speaker 1: I don't know how recent this was, but there's footage of him shopping for like nightgowns at the airport and people are speculating on social media. The sleuths right, like, if you're in the doghouse. You buy nightgowns at the airport. Don't you go all out and buy a tennis bracelet or something nice like nightcown. 00:29:41 Speaker 2: He's buying an Ebenezer script nightgown. 00:29:44 Speaker 1: I have a female friend that every time, every time her husband does something really dumb, I'm like, sweet new watching Gosh, where'd you get that necklace? 00:29:52 Speaker 2: I don't know if that's a doghouse. Yeah, I don't know. 00:29:55 Speaker 1: If Hudson News peanuts are getting out of the Doghouse's. 00:29:59 Speaker 3: Story are going to lose oxygen. I swear, I'll be honest, definitely. 00:30:03 Speaker 2: That's why it needs to be. 00:30:04 Speaker 1: Addressed like by like George Stephanopoulos has to get to the bottom of interview both parties. 00:30:09 Speaker 3: This is no torpedo bat. 00:30:11 Speaker 1: We've said this before, not to beat a dead horse, but Vrabel seems like a great dude, and Diana Rassini has been nothing but a sweetheart to us. 00:30:19 Speaker 2: So I feel bad that this story won't go away. 00:30:22 Speaker 1: But now when you see that there was like a Spotify they're saying there was a Spotify playlist made. 00:30:26 Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I'm not here to speculate. 00:30:28 Speaker 1: The only thing I do want to say is I was impressed they put Papa Roacha on the playlist for that. 00:30:32 Speaker 2: I have to say, that's pretty cool. 00:30:34 Speaker 1: But there was a playlist with her name on it and his name on it, and it was made around the time when he was going through a four game losing streak with the Titans. Yeah, and the whole premise of the playlist like turn the page, like here's here's a positive playlist. You can make a playlist for a friend, You absolutely can. You made a playlist that I listened to it. Cavino had a playlist called falsett Tunes. Yeah, it's all the best songs in rock, pop and any and hip hop with Pharrell like anyone that has the falsetto voice. 00:31:08 Speaker 2: Yeah, a Lonjameroqui on that Bad Boy. 00:31:10 Speaker 1: You know any falsetto false sat tunes, some Michael McDonald. 00:31:14 Speaker 2: Yeah. 00:31:14 Speaker 1: I got one called My Fooaverites and it's all my favorite Foo fighters. I got one called the Summer Jams of the Summer and I just added the new Sublime on it. 00:31:24 Speaker 2: So I'm always making playlists, right. 00:31:26 Speaker 1: Remember the art I got one called the alt Vault that I'm real proud of, the the alt Vault. Yeah, I have a whole Des Rocks playlist that I love, so I'm always working at it. 00:31:36 Speaker 2: So yeah, benefit of the doubt. 00:31:38 Speaker 1: You could, you know, just be the type of person that shares playlists. 00:31:43 Speaker 2: I feel like I gave Mega Mixed ninety six to a lot of people. 00:31:45 Speaker 3: That was a good one. 00:31:46 Speaker 1: I had my finger on the button to make sure the DJ didn't interrupt the lyrics. 00:31:51 Speaker 2: Remember that move? 00:31:51 Speaker 1: Yeah, of course, and then Jack the Whack or someone like you would talk all over it and ruin it. 00:31:57 Speaker 2: That's true. 00:31:57 Speaker 1: So because of this story here to spread the gossip other than I do want to make the observation that the playlist is kind of weak. 00:32:04 Speaker 3: Rich will take his headphones off and be like, I nailed that post. 00:32:07 Speaker 1: Meanwhile I ruined someone's mixtape like Stix was on there. Did you see all the bands that were on this playlist? Sam Hunt, Beyonce? It was like all over the place. There was no you know, And that's why we want to talk about it. It's not about spreading gossip. It's a story that you're gonna see, So it's just kind of like our due diligence to mention it, but based off of it, we want to talk about the good old days when there was the art of the mixtape. 00:32:34 Speaker 2: I did mean. 00:32:35 Speaker 1: I want to ask you this, buddy boy, When Spotify or Serius X and Pandora Apple, when all these companies make the music so accessible to you, and that's the world we live in now, right, you got the iHeart Apple. Whatever the heck you'd consume your music, You could make it like a Spotify playlist like that in five minutes. Does that take away the love that goes behind a mixtape? Like if you made a girl a mixtape back in the day, I'm talking cassette tape or even like burning a CD, there was like almost like an effort. You would even put some artwork, like you would maybe write on it for her a little message. Will kids now ever understand No, how much a mixtape, I'm sure there's maybe an equivalent that I don't know of, But the effort's not the same. The amount of heart is not the same. The sequence in which you put those songs in, how they would blend and you would fade it in and out, not the same. The fact that you had to handwrite all the little songs there and you're sending little secret messages in the lyrics of those songs not the same. So, yeah, you know, maybe it's a casual friendly playlist. I'll give you some more bands that were on this one, and we're gonna go over the arts and rules of the mixtape, the lost art of the mixtape. 00:33:50 Speaker 2: What were some of your favorite memories about it? 00:33:52 Speaker 1: It was red Hot, Chili Peppers, Can't Stop, Last Resort, popa Roach, Welcome to the Jungle GNR. 00:33:58 Speaker 2: Remember the photograph that Remember. 00:34:00 Speaker 1: The Isaac Loan Crome mixtape he made for you, Remember it was You and Me two thousand and three. 00:34:05 Speaker 2: Yeah, that one had a single Ladies on. Yeah. Oh, Beyonce is. 00:34:10 Speaker 4: Outside your window playing it on a boom box holding it up like this. 00:34:14 Speaker 1: See the art of that, the art of the boombox and the I don't know, there was just something different. Your Eyes was also on the playlist, all the speaking of Beyonce, Break My Soul. Beyonce was also on this salacious playlist called Turning the Page, which has since been deleted. 00:34:33 Speaker 2: I'm pretty sure. 00:34:34 Speaker 1: So you know, it's it's a weird story. I'm not trying to lean into that. What we're trying to lean into now is based on that. The art of the mixtape and your favorite part about it, and maybe some other things that are just gone as a result of technology and time. Yeah, there were so many things, and you know what, we could talk about it after I Loo's update, Isaac Lohencron, what's going on? 00:34:57 Speaker 2: Man? All right? 00:34:58 Speaker 4: Fellas. The Philadelphia Phillies today fired manager Rob Thompson. Philadelphia, at nine and nineteen, tied with the for the worst record in the National League. Bench coach Don matting Lee was named interim manager for the rest of the season. Philly's president Dave Dombrowski first offered the job to recently fired Boston Red Sox manager Alex Cora on Sunday morning, but Cora declined. In the NBA, Boston Celtics president of basketball Operations Brad Stevens won the league's Executive of the Year award today for the second time in three seasons. In the NFL, the Athletic reported that the New York Jets hosted quarterback Russell Wilson for a free agent visit. The Baltimore Ravens are signing undrafted free agent quarterback Diego Pavia. Finally, this is an amazing story people out there, and you guys all probably vaguely remember this, but do you remember last December then New York Giants placekicker young way koop? 00:35:54 Speaker 2: Do this a great storry? I'm glad you brought it up. Yes, we do remember this. 00:35:57 Speaker 4: Yeah, he whiffed on a placekick in a Monday night football game against the Patriots, and that blooper wound up saving someone's life. A man out there named Mark Toothaker in Lexington, Kentucky, was watching the whiff and laughed so hard it caused a seizure. He was taken to the hospital. A CT scan revealed a tennis ball sized tumor on the left side of his brain. The tumor was surgically removed and he is cancer free. Can you believe that? 00:36:26 Speaker 2: Back, that's a pretty cool story. 00:36:29 Speaker 6: Ah wake, Oh so he almost killed him and then he saved him. 00:36:35 Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, that's a wild story. 00:36:37 Speaker 1: Wow. 00:36:37 Speaker 2: Thank you Isaac Low and Kron Isaac Low and Cron. Now the art of the mixtape. 00:36:42 Speaker 1: You know what, before we uh go out and say hey it to Big Poppy, Scott Fermeyer hit us up on the live chat. 00:36:50 Speaker 2: We're on YouTube. Up Scott, he goes. 00:36:52 Speaker 1: The next time a random female makes me a playlist will be the first time a random female friend makes me a play. You know, it is something guys were more likely to do for women because we try so hard to impress. 00:37:07 Speaker 2: So when a woman's doing it for you, it does say. 00:37:09 Speaker 3: A little more. 00:37:11 Speaker 2: So we'll reminisce anything in the vein of the mixtape. 00:37:15 Speaker 1: You miss will reminisce a little bit. Plus again, Vaine, I did say, Vain. Leave the Faine out of this. We're gonna talk about secret meetings, Ty Simpson. This is a story about the rams. We'll get to Aaron Rodgers in the news, and we'll do a little preview of the NBA playoffs tonight and big poppy trivia all coming up right here on Fox Sports Radio. 00:37:38 Speaker 2: You will break myto you will breaks. 00:37:41 Speaker 1: No, I'm not gonna criticize talk smack about what was going on because I don't know the inner workings of people's relationships, right, And as Rich often says, people who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. 00:37:55 Speaker 2: Nobody's perfect, right. 00:37:57 Speaker 1: Yeah, it's like I will criticize this week as playlist. It really is bad because playlists have to have a flow. They have to have a flow, a rhyme and a reason. They're saying you can't. You're saying you can't go from Beyonce to the Papa Roach. Dude, it's so weak the more I look at it, because I was like, I was like, unless there's some inside joke between the two people, Yeah, the playlist involves you know, it is a shared playlist, so I guess both could participate on the Spotify thing. If you don't know what we're talking about, let's just say two big names in the news involved in a lovers what controversy, scandal on scandal uh or pat now making a playlist together and it's called turning the page. And the thought is it was made to get vrabel out of his coaching funk. And there is no rhyme or reason to the playlist. So got us thinking of like the lost art of the mixtape. I'll tell you also, by the way, you also have to name the mixtape. 00:39:02 Speaker 2: That was another thing. What do you call it? 00:39:04 Speaker 1: Yeah, but it had to have a I'll say this, the lost art of the mixtape is right up there with the lost art of on a date night going to Blockbuster and starting the a's and working your way to the disease of the new releases and really putting thought into what movie you pick. 00:39:21 Speaker 2: Now. 00:39:21 Speaker 1: I feel like you sit on your couch and you spend a half hour just being like no, no, you don't even make it past the menu. My wife and I joke about how many nights we have intentions of like you know, catching up a show or watching something, and you spend twenty minutes deciding what to watch. 00:39:35 Speaker 2: Then you fall asleep. You don't even get past the menu. 00:39:38 Speaker 1: That random person from high school that you hadn't seen in years on a Friday night at Blockbuster by a box of sour jacks and all that's trilled, Rice, Yeah, all that huge done? So any other memories you want to share? And the lost start of the mixtape hit us up at eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox. We are Cavino and Rich Life from the Fox Sports Radio Studio and it's time for our Ti Iraq play The Day He has Been Bane came up big against the Pistons from Beyond three, The Magic Closer to upsetting the one seed. 00:40:08 Speaker 2: Side out for DEAs He's attacking tops It had it poked away, got it packed stock had. 00:40:12 Speaker 1: Started two Now Paine pain Away three Polity Paint only make something out of nothing the magic Quinn ninety four eighty eight and you take a three to one series lead. That's courtesy of FM ninety six nine in the game, and that was our ti Iraq play of the day. For over forty years, Tyreck's been helping customers find the right tires for how, what and where they drive, shipped fast and free, backed by free road hazard protection with convenient installation options like mobile tire installation tire rack tyrack dot com a tire buying should be now. Yesterday you said you found nothing funny about Pavia not being drafted. I didn't think it was humorous. I didn't think it was something to laugh at. That a young man got left there hanging in embarrassment in front of his friends and family, is okay, Whether it was like deserving and all that, like, you know, we debated that, but a lot of people were laughing at his and I was like, that's kind of sad. 00:41:01 Speaker 2: He's a young man. 00:41:01 Speaker 1: I'm just making a point because you know, you don't like people laughing at I guess you would say an over the top collegiate athlete, are you how do you feel about laughing at obnoxious fans when their team loses. 00:41:14 Speaker 2: Yes, because you said obnoxious, because. 00:41:16 Speaker 1: The Pistons are on their heels, number one seed, right Orlando wins a playing game? Righto Orlando? You know I got rumor in the hallway here that weekend host VJ. Husky claims to be like the only true Pistons fan, and he was saying like, this is it for them their year? So people are like, oh, if they lose, is it wrong to the root against VJ Husky. 00:41:38 Speaker 2: If it's wrong, I don't want to be right. 00:41:41 Speaker 3: So he's gotta hate watching what ben Caro has been doing. 00:41:44 Speaker 1: Oh man, so this you know, we talked about one seeds usually having a pretty easy cakewalk. 00:41:50 Speaker 2: They got their backs against Wall. They could win three in to Rouw, but who knows. 00:41:52 Speaker 1: Listen, we got more Covino Rich and Big Poppy trivia coming up.
