Speaker 3: Welcome to our of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage. Now here's Matt Jones looking back.

00:01:05
Speaker 4: I remember two Kentucky sports radio here at the KOs bar and Girl Wings day Dollar Wings all day. Starting right now, people are ordering ordering food. Nice to nice to see everybody here. The guy told me we looked it up. Monaicello's west of Danville. So if I can't take Danville as eastern Kentucky, I guess I can't take Monticello, so I will throw in. Uh, I think there's a world I could live in Hazard. Yeah, they have an Applebee's, so you know, I mean he got that. The wymt's there, so uh, there's a world I could do.

00:01:37
Speaker 5: Then see I I yeah, obviously I didn't grow up there, but just for me, a transplant in Kentucky, I don't consider anything west of Corbin or London, eastern Kentucky. In London, you don't consider Corbin. Eastern Kentucky.

00:01:51
Speaker 4: I consider co I don't consider London, although people in London get mad if you don't consider it.

00:01:57
Speaker 5: But I do consider Corb.

00:01:59
Speaker 4: I think when you get off the interstate, you're into mountains, right, and when and you get off the interstate in Corbin and go towards my house, yes, go through Barble. You definitely think Barbarable's eastern Kaituck. I do, but you don't make Corby. I don't make corpor you're talking Fred Chickens from there. It is from there.

00:02:18
Speaker 5: I think just that is kind of the bridge that the gateway to London.

00:02:24
Speaker 4: To me, London's the gateway. Uh huh, London's the bridge, and when you pass London.

00:02:28
Speaker 5: You're in both schools are thirteenth region.

00:02:30
Speaker 6: Do you think Montgomery County is eastern Kentucky?

00:02:33
Speaker 5: I do not.

00:02:34
Speaker 6: You don't think Montgomery Counties south.

00:02:36
Speaker 5: Of Montgomery County and east of Corbett in London, that's.

00:02:38
Speaker 4: But but you think Ashland is eastern Kentuck. Yes, but that's that's not south.

00:02:43
Speaker 5: That's true southeast of Mount Sterling, like I consider Morehead.

00:02:47
Speaker 6: Is all of Hill eastern. Yes, but not Montgomery.

00:02:51
Speaker 5: Not Montgomery County. Interesting, that's just me a transplant.

00:02:54
Speaker 4: One person writes, Matt, I just went back and put on an episode of Wrestlers and holy blank you.

00:02:59
Speaker 5: Didn't look good.

00:03:01
Speaker 7: Well that's nice, thanks a lot.

00:03:04
Speaker 4: I saw your pictures from Oxford there night and day. Glad you're doing better. I guess that's a compliment.

00:03:10
Speaker 5: Is a very much a compliment.

00:03:12
Speaker 6: A compliment I don't know, Holy blank though.

00:03:16
Speaker 5: What what did he do? You do? When you go back and you see your interact with Brian Kennison, Well, first.

00:03:24
Speaker 4: Of all, Brian Kennison, I get along very well. Now, the editing on the Brian Kennison thing was misleading. I've talked about this before. I won't go into it, but that conversation did not go as they act like.

00:03:37
Speaker 8: It was just the greatest shot of him sitting there crying.

00:03:41
Speaker 9: Watch the shots, walking away and hitting the golf shot is not a fair shot to me. What they left out the minute or two when I sat and kneeled and talked.

00:03:53
Speaker 5: With him, They left all that out that.

00:03:55
Speaker 6: I'm still not thrilled about that, but I was.

00:04:00
Speaker 4: I was probably a couple of times a little I don't, I don't I was meaner to him than I should have been, although you know so so we're much better now.

00:04:10
Speaker 6: That right, shitning, you know that was miss leading.

00:04:13
Speaker 8: You know I wasn't there in that moment was on Netflix.

00:04:18
Speaker 6: So all right, let's talk basketball.

00:04:19
Speaker 4: John Rostein went to UK basketball practice yesterday. He said a number of things, but I think he said the two most important things. He said, UK is an NCAA tournament team, and then he gave what he thought would be the starting lineup, he said, and it was the same starting lineup I said a couple of weeks ago, Lamont Butler, uh Kobe Kobe Brea, Jackson Robinson, Andrew Carr, and uh Amari Williams. I want people to understand some context.

00:04:48
Speaker 5: You.

00:04:48
Speaker 4: You know, when Cal was here, there were certain reporters that when they said something, you could feel pretty good it came from Cal. Right, So that would have been Seth Greenberg, Mike de Corsi. There was a time that Andy ca was that too. There was a time I was that. Honestly, there was a time Kyle Tucker was that there was kind of a notion of if this person talks, this is what Kyle thinks. I think in this era, I think there are a couple guys that are like that. I think Jeff Goodman has a very good relationship with some of our assistants that are on the staff, and so if Goodman says something, I'm gonna tend to give it weight. And then John Rostein, I think, is in a similar position because one of the assistants I think is good friends with him.

00:05:36
Speaker 6: So there's gonna be.

00:05:37
Speaker 4: A couple of guys. We'll figure this out over the course of the year. But are these sort of Mark Pope whisperers for lack of a better term. And I think Rostein is like that for one on the staff. So when he says I think this will be the starting lineup, Ryan, I feel good that as of today that will be the starting lineup. He also said that Colin Chandler, the freshman that it was a little older who had been on the Mormon Men, would definitely play and is a huge talent, which is coincides with some of the stuff i'd heard that like nobody mentions him, but that he might be our freshman that plays the most. What did you think of those comments? And do you agree with Rusty?

00:06:14
Speaker 5: The thing about Chandler for me, because the last thing I remember hearing about channel like he was still behind, he still had a ways to go because he was off for a couple of years. So for him to last thing to say that he's gonna play, that tells me this dude could be a star someday.

00:06:26
Speaker 4: I think he's playing, and I think he is gonna be I think by the end of the year he's the guy that you go I'm not gonna say he's the X factor. I still think the X factor is just Jackson Robinson become a superstar. But I think he will play. You're around now. This is part of why I wanted to have you on today, Marow. You're around, like you know these guys on the team much more than I do. Who do you think are going to be the best players this year? From the things you hear on the ground of that level.

00:06:56
Speaker 7: So, I think Andrew Carr hasn't really gotten you know, talked about a lot. We hear about how efficient he is. You know, you know, Mark Pope came out here and talked about how he's so efficient.

00:07:07
Speaker 6: So I think he ross Stein said that too.

00:07:09
Speaker 7: By the way, I think he's gonna be one of the leading scorers with him in Jackson Robinson. I think Travis Perry is kind of being floated under the radar in terms of what he can do on the floor. I think he's a gonna be one of the best three point shooters in the country. We saw this, We heard similar things with Ree Shepherd last season. We're kind of hearing that kind of float back up about Travis Perry, Colin Chandler. I haven't heard much about Colin Chandler. I don't know your guy Rossel Steen, you know, I don't know if he was there just at one practice, and Colin Channeler is just having a good day. Like I don't know, it's just one practice. It's hard to tell, you know.

00:07:43
Speaker 6: So who do you think it would be our best player from what you hear? Jackson Robinson? Yeah, Jackson Robinson.

00:07:49
Speaker 4: If you were to predict top scores, you go, I would go Robinson won car too.

00:07:54
Speaker 6: Is that what you would say? Absolutely?

00:07:55
Speaker 5: I think Brad Brad is gonna have games, but he may have twenty four to twenty five and then maybe six or seven the next night. But I think he's a guy that could really, you know, one.

00:08:03
Speaker 4: So would you say that you feel like those three guys if you're gonna say, like last year, our three best scores tended to be Reeve Shephard dilling Ham to the extent we have that this year, is it Robinson car Brea in your mind?

00:08:18
Speaker 7: I believe it's it's Robinson car for sure. And then the third option. It just depends on the night because you have different players, so many Pope system has so many different weapons on the team. Travis Perry, you can't forget about kerk Crisa. He's I feel like he's gonna be a big playing that six man role.

00:08:36
Speaker 6: So we don't talk about o tag.

00:08:38
Speaker 7: He doesn't get talked about.

00:08:39
Speaker 5: He say his name, Oh Otega alway, right.

00:08:43
Speaker 4: Otaga Ahway. He's gonna play a lot because he's a good defender. So I think you're gonna see him.

00:08:47
Speaker 5: Play a lot. And I don't. I don't know a lot of the inside stuff. But one guy did tell me that he's the one guy that can get to the basket. Like we talked about, you know, we got the shooters, He's the one guy, like a Joe Crawford that if you can, you know, be strong to the basket. He's that the one backcourt guy that can do it.

00:09:03
Speaker 6: So I was glad to hear him say it was a you know, a tournament team.

00:09:07
Speaker 4: I I don't think there's ever been, and you all can can tell me if you disagree. I don't think there's ever been a Kentucky team in the history of our school that we have no idea how good they're gonna be less than this one.

00:09:23
Speaker 6: I mean I have no clue.

00:09:25
Speaker 4: I have no clue if we're gonna be top five to ten, top twenty five on the bubble.

00:09:32
Speaker 6: I'd be surprised if we missed the tournament.

00:09:35
Speaker 4: But I have no idea Ryan, how good we're gonna because first of all, we haven't seen any of these people play. And unless you're a big time college basketball player, you literally might not have seen more than one game from any of the dudes. I mean, our best players came from BYU, Wake Forest, San Diego State, Drexel.

00:09:59
Speaker 6: Oklahoma, Dayton.

00:10:01
Speaker 4: I don't know how much you watch those teams play. You have no idea, but you just I think, like Ryan, you have no idea how these guys are gonna.

00:10:09
Speaker 5: Be twelve new players, new players.

00:10:12
Speaker 10: First time they're on campus is when Pope got here, And except for Travis Perry, we weren't recruiting the freshman we had, so we didn't really follow them either.

00:10:22
Speaker 7: And you can't look at their stats because they're from the previous season, because they're coming from a different school, it's a different system that that you're looking at. So, like I said, you don't, we don't know what it's gonna be.

00:10:32
Speaker 6: We have no idea.

00:10:34
Speaker 4: And I think that's what's gonna make the Blue White Game and the first two exhibition games so interesting is for most of ours fans, I would say ninety five percent of our fans, with the exception of maybe Lamont Butler, who they watched in the tournament run to the title game, most of these guys Ryan no one has seen play.

00:10:53
Speaker 5: Nope. That's why there is so much interest in Big Blue Maddens and the Blue White Game and these exhibition games. Usually, you know, don't get a lot of it focus and attention. We are going to this time. We want to see these guys play. How good are they?

00:11:04
Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm excited about it too, But I also you know, when that team gets on the floor to play Duke, I just how long do you think it's gonna take before people recognize these guys Like I'll give you an example. I was that, Uh, there was a player who walked in this bar last week during during the football game.

00:11:26
Speaker 5: Was here during the Kentucky Old Miss.

00:11:27
Speaker 4: Game, and no one knew and wow, and no one on our staff even new to get him to sign the board.

00:11:33
Speaker 7: Wow.

00:11:34
Speaker 6: And then when it was over, I had one person say that on the way.

00:11:36
Speaker 4: Out they saw the player really and sat in here and watch the game with a group of Kentucky fans and no one knew they were a player. So I think that's just what this scene is going to be, at least for a little while. Who's next?

00:11:50
Speaker 5: J Jay? What's up? Jay?

00:11:53
Speaker 11: Hey guys, good morning. Just kind of wanted to extend an invitation there to Ryan to stop by Saturday morning for breakfast at the tailgate at three thousand Frederick Street. Uh, because I know he'll be down there this Saturday. Looking forward to seeing him and Josiah come on down.

00:12:13
Speaker 5: Well, I don't know what he's talking about. What We're going to a game day visit at Kentucky Wesleyan this weekend? Oh yeah, so he want me to come by their tailgate. Sounds like before the game.

00:12:22
Speaker 4: So Who's I appreciate the call. Where are we on the recruitment? Who's leading? If I were to go on ks board and give my inside scoop, who should I say is leading?

00:12:32
Speaker 5: At this point? I think the leader might still be Handover, Hanover, Kentucky wesley and Mount Saint Joseph. Those are these three.

00:12:39
Speaker 6: When is the Mount Saint Joseph visit.

00:12:40
Speaker 5: It's next month. It's a I think that's at the final.

00:12:44
Speaker 6: Are those the hats that are going to be on the table?

00:12:47
Speaker 5: We need to throw a trancy hat out there just for the heck of it.

00:12:49
Speaker 6: Right, Well, they don't have a football team, so that's gonna hurt him.

00:12:52
Speaker 4: But all right, so handover Mount Saint Joseph, Kentucky Wesley Now Kentucky westleyn's your alma made? No, are you like, what are you gonna do to get them back in play? Don't you want him to follow your roots?

00:13:04
Speaker 5: I man, I ain't. Almost kind of teared up when Josiah's first offer came from my school, Kentucky Westlon. I thought that was really cool, you know, because they did it not because of I played there. They did it because he had a really great camp last summer. So I would love for him to go there. But I can kind of see where he's thinking already. Did he meet a girl? No, the girls here? Oh? The girls here? Yeah? Oh yeah, well.

00:13:31
Speaker 6: Hangover is that the farthest one away?

00:13:34
Speaker 5: No, Wesleyan would be I guess, okay, yeah, it's interesting.

00:13:38
Speaker 6: We'll see who's up next. Bob, Bob, how are you?

00:13:41
Speaker 4: Bob?

00:13:42
Speaker 12: Good? Morning gears.

00:13:43
Speaker 5: Arm, what's up?

00:13:45
Speaker 12: I made to correct something I told you last week. Perkins was in Sue Falls, not Sue's City.

00:13:51
Speaker 4: Okay, well, I appreciate you telling me. I want to make sure we get to the right Perkins.

00:13:57
Speaker 12: Uh, you're telling the football story. The best camps and Louisville was the Sheiks. They used to have a National Coaches Football Coaches Convention here at the Brown Hotel and all of meetings convened at the Cheeks. And that was a place on Thirteenth Street, probably to April. You had to knock on the door to get the attention to get in, but it was a great night spot.

00:14:25
Speaker 4: And about night spots on thirteenth Street, in Bobby, you never know what you're gonna say. Well, listen, I appreciate the call, and Bob will get ready during the off week. Maybe he's gonna be out at the clubs on thirteenth Street.

00:14:39
Speaker 5: I don't know. Sheeks on thirteenth Street.

00:14:41
Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't know what that is. Tell me about it. Tell me what Stockton mortgage is, because I do know what that is.

00:14:45
Speaker 5: Stocktor Mortgage, there are the number one mortgage lender in the state of Kentucky and they only do business the Kentucky. They do business outside of Kentucky. 00:15:10
Speaker 6: Some other underrated players.

00:15:13
Speaker 5: Mike hart Line, Mike Hartline senior year. People don't realize how good it really was. His numbers and what he did that year phenomenal.

00:15:22
Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, I think he is because he came on the end of that line that goes back to Lorenzen woods you know, but going back to couch Yep, Bonner, Lorenzen Woodson and then you get Mike Hartline, and people think he was a huge disappointment. But I would say for the next six or seven years, it would have been nice if we had Mike hart Amen.

00:15:42
Speaker 5: Go back and look what he did his senior year. I know he didn't get to play in the bowl game, but look what he did up to that point. He had a great, great season.

00:15:48
Speaker 4: When person rights, Bryan say, Montgomery County is not Eastern Kentucky is insane? Has he never been to court days?

00:15:55
Speaker 5: I have been to court days. I still just don't consider Mount Star in the mountains.

00:16:00
Speaker 6: I don't consider it's got mount in the name.

00:16:03
Speaker 5: Well so does Mount Washington.

00:16:05
Speaker 8: Yeah, we're in the mountains.

00:16:06
Speaker 6: Good point. We'll take a break and be right back. Who says Kentucky.

00:16:09
Speaker 5: Sports radio.

00:16:12
Speaker 6: Work? I'm back? It is uh Kentucky Sports Radio.

00:16:16
Speaker 4: If I'm nine two eight oh twenty two eighty seven, the text machine is seven seven two seven seven four five two.

00:16:21
Speaker 6: Five four Uh, Matt. One person rights, Matt.

00:16:25
Speaker 4: I look at the polls and it tells me someone is leading forty nine forty six. Who are the other five percent of people? And do you know any of them? That's a good question, do you I don't understand how anyone could be undecided? Like what else do you need to know at this point? Like it's not you know who these people are. One of them was the president, the other was a vice like you should know whatever you decide, Like, how would you not know? What are they going to say in the next month that would change your mind?

00:16:54
Speaker 5: You think there's people just don't want to give up who they're for, just trying.

00:16:57
Speaker 4: To maybe, But do you know, do you know any one that's truly like, I don't know what I'm gonna do.

00:17:02
Speaker 7: I think it's just out of them being scared nervous to make a change of decision, or you know, stay with their decision.

00:17:09
Speaker 6: They just Now do you vote, Mario? Are you a voter?

00:17:12
Speaker 7: I'm not a voter.

00:17:14
Speaker 6: Have you ever voted?

00:17:16
Speaker 5: No? I haven't. You've never voted?

00:17:18
Speaker 6: So have you thought about voting?

00:17:20
Speaker 7: Yes? I haven't been encouraged to vote?

00:17:22
Speaker 6: So you should. Do you know how to register?

00:17:26
Speaker 7: Yes? Get a lot of text messages?

00:17:29
Speaker 5: Yeah? Are you? Are you registered?

00:17:31
Speaker 7: I don't think I am registered?

00:17:33
Speaker 5: No? I think it is it.

00:17:34
Speaker 4: Too late in Kentucky? No, it isn't too late, or it is too late next week, next week, next week.

00:17:40
Speaker 7: I got some time.

00:17:41
Speaker 6: So why don't you register to vote?

00:17:43
Speaker 7: I'm gonna have to.

00:17:43
Speaker 6: Don't you want to register? Have your voice heard?

00:17:46
Speaker 5: Yep?

00:17:47
Speaker 7: Okay, I think it's about Tom all right?

00:17:48
Speaker 4: So why don't you You should learn to vote? So maybe that can be your next video, is you registering to vote?

00:17:59
Speaker 7: We can do that.

00:18:00
Speaker 5: Okay, there you go. See.

00:18:01
Speaker 6: Look we're using Mario to teach the UH to teach people how to vote.

00:18:05
Speaker 5: There is somebody, I think on this show that has said he's kind of undecided?

00:18:08
Speaker 6: Shandon, are you undecided?

00:18:10
Speaker 7: No?

00:18:10
Speaker 8: I didn't. I didn't say that.

00:18:11
Speaker 5: I thought you said that recently.

00:18:13
Speaker 8: Billy said that.

00:18:13
Speaker 4: No, Billy, Billy said, Billy did say he was undecided.

00:18:18
Speaker 6: Billy said he was undecided. Okay, so there you go.

00:18:21
Speaker 4: If I'm nine to twenty two eighty seven, I do. Can we talk a little bit of of of drama?

00:18:27
Speaker 5: All Drama's my middle name.

00:18:29
Speaker 6: So this I find this story crazy?

00:18:32
Speaker 5: All right?

00:18:32
Speaker 4: So let me You may not know who any of these people are, but there's a a two political reporters. One's name is Olivia Nuzzy and one is named Ryan Lizza. They were engaged to each other. All right, follow me, so far they are fiances and fiance Do you say fiance for both people?

00:18:51
Speaker 5: Yeah?

00:18:51
Speaker 4: Okay, so it's not a masculine and effeminine, it's just fiance. They are fiances with each other. Uh you may have seen Olivia does a profile on Robert Kennedy and I guess falls in love with him, and she ends up sending him saucy pictures and she ends up basically having a text relationship with him.

00:19:14
Speaker 6: So it comes out she has pulled off the campaign beat.

00:19:19
Speaker 4: It's a big story. Well, now, yesterday she sued him. The fiance okay, who looked to be the victim. She shooed him and said he found out and he threatened to blackmail me and give all of these pictures to the press. She's saying he found it on her phone and he threatened to send out the pictures. Now he says, I have no idea what she's talking about. I found out when everybody else did. And now it's going to court Ryan to determine did the fiance blackmail or not at that she sent these pictures to ninety nine year old Robert Kidnitt, I.

00:20:02
Speaker 5: Knew the story, but I know this backstory about the pictures. So my question is, how did the press get the pictures in if it didn't come from him source.

00:20:10
Speaker 4: Well, I don't think they've put out the pictures. They just put that put out that they had the relationship. Oh okay, but I don't think the pictures ever came out. Okay, but she's essentially almost alleging that he's the one that ratted her out.

00:20:25
Speaker 5: What do you think? I think. I think they're gonna have a hard time proven that.

00:20:32
Speaker 4: Well, what, Shannon, do you think that fiance was likely the one that ratted her out?

00:20:36
Speaker 3: Oh? Yeah, you know he was. He would even care, right, He's the only one that cared. He's true with the motive in the situation, so of course he did.

00:20:44
Speaker 5: Yeah.

00:20:45
Speaker 7: Well, I don't know, Mario, weird situation. I don't know. Yeah, I feel like the fiance.

00:20:50
Speaker 4: He has to If you were in the situation and you found out, would you want people to know or not.

00:20:59
Speaker 6: Say you're gonna say you're engaged?

00:21:02
Speaker 8: I was gonna say I would want to keep it private.

00:21:03
Speaker 6: I don't.

00:21:04
Speaker 8: I don't believe in trying to air stuff like that out.

00:21:07
Speaker 5: Yeah.

00:21:07
Speaker 8: Yeah, that's something you work out internally.

00:21:10
Speaker 5: All right. What about you?

00:21:11
Speaker 6: Right, you're because you're very vengeful.

00:21:13
Speaker 5: I think like.

00:21:15
Speaker 4: You're engaged you find out your fiance was cheating on you, Are you keeping it to yourself or I mean, you wouldn't put it in a magazine.

00:21:22
Speaker 5: But would you tell the world there is something to be said.

00:21:25
Speaker 6: I feel like you would tell the world like being.

00:21:27
Speaker 5: Vengeful, but you still don't want to air out your dirty laundry.

00:21:30
Speaker 7: But you emotional.

00:21:34
Speaker 4: I would want to keep it to myself Shannon properly. Would I see you Ryan as someone who would like throw it out?

00:21:44
Speaker 5: Well? I appreciate what you think of me. I mean, I think you're the nicest person.

00:21:53
Speaker 4: I know I've said that next to Larry, you're the nicest person on it. But I do think though, you would agree that when you are scorned you have a vengeful, avengeful side. Would you agree with that?

00:22:09
Speaker 5: I you know, I gotta be careful what I say here because I haven't done that.

00:22:14
Speaker 6: I understand that. Yes, but this is a fiance.

00:22:18
Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, well.

00:22:22
Speaker 6: Very Who's up next?

00:22:25
Speaker 4: TI?

00:22:26
Speaker 5: Tim?

00:22:26
Speaker 6: Go ahead, Tim?

00:22:28
Speaker 13: What's going on? I have a funny story from oxcor At first, I'll vote for Pikeville. I had somebody drag me to a concert there last fall.

00:22:35
Speaker 4: Hearty is I could live in pike The problem with Pikeville is the road to them. It is the road to the Mountain Parkway. Is just that that thirty minutes. But you're right, I could live.

00:22:45
Speaker 13: In Pikewell, yeah, good restaurants. You got to do a good Pike buildings. And if you have an arena that has as many people seats in it as your population, you're doing something good.

00:22:57
Speaker 6: I totally agree with that.

00:22:58
Speaker 13: Now, Oxford, real quick, but you were trying to set up on the porch after the game by the grove and I'm in the back of the UK crowd, you know, a bunch of about one hundred of us. As you said, we're hanging in congregate and waiting, and you're trying to get you know, set up, and there's a tailgate kit right next to me, a little cooler.

00:23:14
Speaker 5: I'll be brief twenty real quick.

00:23:19
Speaker 13: And she reaches in to pull out a drink because is this yours? I said no, I said, but I want to reach in and pull out a drink. Now that you did, she said, you've already taken over.

00:23:27
Speaker 5: We had taken over that little area. That's for sure. We'll take a break.

00:23:33
Speaker 7: TJ.

00:23:33
Speaker 8: Smith, personal injury attorney, called TJ.

00:23:36
Speaker 6: He'll make them pay.

00:23:37
Speaker 5: Now.

00:23:37
Speaker 3: More of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage.

00:23:40
Speaker 8: Here's Matt Jones.

00:23:41
Speaker 4: Welcome back Tucky Sports Radio here at KOs Bar and grail wingsday here on a beautiful day, beautiful day in Lexington. Tomorrow we are not here. We are on location with corn bread hemp. It's not open to the public. We're out in the fields where they grow the hemp. Yeure, we'll be out there and you guys, you can't come, but we will be there. And then Friday we are at Shady Rays eight nine twenty two eighty seven. Task a couple op in lines, by the way, go ahead, it's ask any Wednesday. I would like to ask the question.

00:24:13
Speaker 7: What's your question?

00:24:14
Speaker 2: Ry?

00:24:14
Speaker 5: You just got another box of shoes which you get every day.

00:24:17
Speaker 4: I don't get them every day, every single every day.

00:24:21
Speaker 5: With all your shoes you've got, how do you decide which shoes to wear which day?

00:24:25
Speaker 11: Like?

00:24:25
Speaker 5: Do you have some sort of set rotation like the system? What is your system?

00:24:30
Speaker 6: So I put the shoe first of all, Mario, you can tell them this and you've seen it.

00:24:34
Speaker 5: Ryan.

00:24:35
Speaker 4: They're all over my house. They are because I don't have enough space. So I put them in groups of eight. Okay, all right, So they're in groups of eight and every day I pick one of the eight, then move it to the next group, pick one of the eight, et cetera. Because if I didn't do that, you'd be like, what is it called the inaction of like the too many? So that's not the phrase, the inaction too many? But I move and pick one from each one. It's almost like a neurosis now that I can't go away from those eight And so like today I chose these from eight, and then tomorrow will be a different eight you choose from.

00:25:17
Speaker 5: So your groups of eight are strung out all over your house.

00:25:20
Speaker 6: Because I don't have enough space for them anywhere.

00:25:23
Speaker 4: But how do you pick the group? Ah, they just randomly have been put there. And then oh and then how do I go from group to groups? Yeah, well I pick this group. Then the next day is this one, and there's a rotation of the group.

00:25:34
Speaker 5: So you have a set rotation of your groups.

00:25:36
Speaker 4: Yes, and I know that sounds awful, but like this is the one thing, Like everybody has something they collect or interest, this is the thing I collect. I don't if I don't you know this, I don't spend money. No, I spend money on traveling and.

00:25:50
Speaker 5: This, Yeah, that's it.

00:25:52
Speaker 6: My clothes.

00:25:53
Speaker 4: I don't spend money on anything else. These are the two things I spend money on. And it's just like for some people they collect baseball cards or stamps, or they collect candles or they but whatever. This is the thing that I have just sort of enjoyed collecting.

00:26:09
Speaker 8: Collect candles too. I've seen it.

00:26:10
Speaker 6: I collect candles all that.

00:26:13
Speaker 4: But you know, somebody sent me an article that's got me a little freaked out about the candles that basically says you shouldn't always burn scented candles in your house. It like puts some toxins out. And I don't even know if it's true, but it kind of freaked me out about it because I I used to do it all the time, and so I've kind of stopped. I don't know if it's true or not, Ryan, but like, I don't know. I don't want toxins. I mean true, I don't really drink and I don't really do anything that. Like my vice is diet coke, So I don't I don't know if I want candle toxins all in me.

00:26:47
Speaker 5: Now, do you have a special group of eight shoes that for like when you're going out shoes when you're dressing up, you have a special group.

00:26:53
Speaker 6: I have to pick one of those eights. You have to don't match. That's on me.

00:26:57
Speaker 7: Okay, so you don't divide them by color.

00:27:00
Speaker 4: No, no, it's random, completely, it's completely random, completely random, not based on all your nikes are together, or they would be cheating if they were. If they were, if they were, I'm just telling you this is uh, this is.

00:27:13
Speaker 6: One day, one person rights.

00:27:16
Speaker 7: Matt.

00:27:16
Speaker 4: You said the grades for the for the season so far seven games left. What is Kentucky's final record? All right, we all picked different different things at the beginning of the year. I think I predicted seven and five. At the beginning of the year, with a max of eight and four, I said, you'll drop one random one. It ended up being South Carolina. So now, Ryan, what will the record be at the end of the year. Knowing we're three and two.

00:27:44
Speaker 5: Now, I'm still hanging on eight and four. I still don't know if they can get.

00:27:48
Speaker 4: So you think they win all the games they're supposed to and beat Louisville and beat Louisville.

00:27:52
Speaker 5: Okay, maybe drop the Tennessee in the Texas game. I wouldn't have predicted that maybe this time last week, but I'm predicting it now, baby, all right, what about you?

00:28:01
Speaker 7: I'm going with Ryan eight and four. They get better every single game.

00:28:04
Speaker 5: Okay, that's what I'm going with.

00:28:06
Speaker 6: Shannon.

00:28:06
Speaker 8: I had eight and four as well.

00:28:08
Speaker 3: I think they beat Vandy, Florida, Auburn, and then actually I think I had them beat him beating Tennessee if you go back and look at it. Okay, so I don't know which games they drop, but I was still like eighting four as their final record.

00:28:21
Speaker 4: Yeah, so I'm gonna so I picked seven and five at the beginning of the year, so you would probably say, well, if you pick seven and five at the beginning of the year, what's what has changed?

00:28:33
Speaker 6: Because I picked us to beat South Carolina but lose Home Miss. I stick.

00:28:37
Speaker 4: I think I picked us to beat Old Miss but lose to Florida. Maybe what was mine. I'm gonna switch and go eight and for because I feel we're gonna beat Louisville the game. Florida still worries me a little bit, just because it's on the road, and and that worries me. I think Auburn's not as good as I thought they'd be. We're gonna win that one. We're gonna win Vandy, We're gonna win Murray. There's a part of me that still doesn't like the road game at Florida.

00:29:07
Speaker 6: I think we're gonna I don't.

00:29:09
Speaker 4: I think we're gonna get blown out in either Tennessee or Texas. But then I think Ryan, in that other one, we're gonna have a shot be competitive, to be competitive, and it be I think one of those two games, somebody's just gonna get us, because we get blown out at least one game every year. But I kind of feel like Ryan, one of those two, Tennessee and Texas will have a shot at whether.

00:29:30
Speaker 5: We win it or not. Which one of the two.

00:29:33
Speaker 6: I think it's more likely we have a shot at Texas.

00:29:36
Speaker 4: I think Tennessee is gonna be tough man their offense, and then you know their strengths are our weaknesses.

00:29:43
Speaker 6: Right They they they pass.

00:29:45
Speaker 4: Well, and then they got a great defensive line, and we've struggled with these defensive lines getting pressure. I feel like we'll do better against Texas, But I don't know.

00:29:54
Speaker 5: Texas still could be undefeated, number one in the country. Maybe they overlooked who's next. I wonder who Texas plays that next week.

00:30:01
Speaker 4: They finished the season that next week with like maybe A and N.

00:30:05
Speaker 6: No, I don't know. I'm not sure who they play. We can, we can look it up.

00:30:09
Speaker 5: Who's next?

00:30:09
Speaker 6: Shit, let's go to Madison, Madison? How are you, Madison?

00:30:13
Speaker 5: I'm done? Fine, man?

00:30:14
Speaker 12: How you doing today?

00:30:15
Speaker 5: Doing good? I got two things for you?

00:30:18
Speaker 4: One?

00:30:19
Speaker 5: Uh, what other teams do we have to beat in order to get ranked? Because I noticed I think.

00:30:28
Speaker 4: If we if we take care of our business Madison, if we well, obviously we're not gonna lose this week, we're not playing. If we then beat Vandy, Auburn, and Florida, then going into the Tennessee game, will certainly be ranked. We might be ranked before that, but I think we could be if we if we take care of the b our business, win all those games, and we're six and two going into Tennessee, I think we'll be ranked eighteenth, nineteenth, twentieth, something like that and going to Tennessee.

00:30:59
Speaker 14: And then another thing thing is y'all were talking about our basketball team.

00:31:05
Speaker 5: What what record do y'all see us ending? With?

00:31:09
Speaker 6: Ye again on basketball? I appreciate the call.

00:31:12
Speaker 4: I have no idea what our record's gonna be. I mean we'll make a prediction right before the season starts. But it could be it could be anything. It could be twenty six and five, it could be twenty one and ten, it could be I have no idea.

00:31:32
Speaker 5: No, especially when the SEC is really going to be strong and you know there'd be to be some tough road games. Are gonna have to go out and try to win, so I can add up to some losses.

00:31:41
Speaker 7: Yeah, I mean the record, you just don't really know. I don't know, man. It's like Matt said, you can go twenty five and ten, you know, nineteen and thirteen. We really don't know. We haven't seen them.

00:31:53
Speaker 6: I just I mean, I have no idea.

00:31:55
Speaker 4: I do think our non conference so part of it is you judge the non com So what are the losable games non conference?

00:32:04
Speaker 5: Duke?

00:32:06
Speaker 4: I think we beat Ohio State, So then you're looking at Duke at Clemson, at Gonzaga.

00:32:15
Speaker 5: Louisville is here, right.

00:32:17
Speaker 4: So Louisville is here, so that helps. So if you take the five harder games, you get Duke, you get Ohio State, at Clemson, at Gonzaga, and then Louisville. I think we go three and two in those games.

00:32:34
Speaker 7: I think we gotta get. I think we get.

00:32:36
Speaker 6: That's gonna be. I think that's gonna be a tough one.

00:32:38
Speaker 4: But what do you think you'll you think three and two would be successful in those games.

00:32:42
Speaker 5: Seeh, I would probably when we make our predictions, I'll probably go two and three. I think those three games, as you said, Duke Clemson and Gonzaga.

00:32:48
Speaker 4: Spinning Ohio State and Louisville losing the other three, I would say we beat Ohio State in Louisville.

00:32:54
Speaker 6: And we win one of those three. I'm not sure against which one.

00:32:57
Speaker 4: I don't know that Gonzaga is as good as they usually are this year.

00:33:00
Speaker 6: And that's not on their home floor.

00:33:03
Speaker 4: That's on that floor in Seattle, which will be it's not gonna be. They'll have more fans than we will, but it's not in and of itself right a home court.

00:33:13
Speaker 5: I just don't want to see, you know, a home loss to North Carolina Wilmington. You don't want those days to be gone. You know, we're with the.

00:33:19
Speaker 6: Team full of seniors. We're not gonna lose a game like.

00:33:22
Speaker 5: You and C. Wilbets. I don't think so easy to you. No, no, and now, like I said, I hope those games. You just don't lose non conference games at home in Kentucky, so that those days have to be over.

00:33:31
Speaker 4: I don't think we will Commonwealth causes. You know, the Blue White Game is coming and it is four in IL. You can find more at Club blueil dot com. Ticket member or excuse me, Club Blue members get twenty percent off tickets. There's still time to join. It is Club Blue nil dot com a unique first time experience where I think it's going to be very cool in that arena. It's gonna be just very cool having something at Memorial Coliseum.

00:34:15
Speaker 5: Very cool. Yeah, excited about that.

00:34:17
Speaker 4: When's the last time a UK basketball thing was a Memorial Cosseum?

00:34:20
Speaker 5: Is it? Is it that n I game paired the Perry Stevenson Game.

00:34:24
Speaker 4: I think that's the last time was that Perry Stevenson n I T game is the last time they had something there.

00:34:29
Speaker 6: We'll take a break, come back. Final segment. It's KSR.

00:34:34
Speaker 5: Working back.

00:34:35
Speaker 4: It is Kentucky Sports Radio a F I'm nine two eight, twenty two eighty seven here at KSPAR. Remember all week all not well, all weekend, all day tonight they have dollar wings through I think it's seventy cent boondless and then trivia is tonight, not the one hosted by me, but the other one which is a professional. So you will enjoy yourself for that. We had somebody here ask me and ask anything. If you could win all the rest of the games of the season, but you had to lose to Louisville, would you take it.

00:35:09
Speaker 5: Yes? Yeah, that means that includes a win over because you.

00:35:12
Speaker 4: Would win at Tennessee and Texas. You'd be nine and three, and I think you would make the playoffs. If you had beaten Texas, Tennessee and Old miss All on the road.

00:35:24
Speaker 6: I think you're in the playoff whether you lose to Louisville or not.

00:35:27
Speaker 7: I would definitely take that.

00:35:29
Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean it would stink losing to Louisville, but.

00:35:33
Speaker 4: You'd win at Tennessee nine and three, nine and three, if you did that, So, yes, I would take that.

00:35:39
Speaker 5: I would. It'd be a tough pill to swallow, to lose the last game of the year to Louisville, But at the same time, you're sitting there nine and three and thinking you might go to the playoffs. That doesn't come around very often. I'd take that.

00:35:51
Speaker 4: Not only would I definitely take it, I think it'd be really really good for the program.

00:35:55
Speaker 5: Oh, yes, that's it.

00:35:56
Speaker 4: Did you see the guy who is proposing a college football super league?

00:36:03
Speaker 5: Did you see this? Didn't see it.

00:36:05
Speaker 4: It's not gonna happen, almost for sure, but he's proposing a seventy two team college football super league that takes the four major conferences plus like five other schools Washington State, Oregon State, Memphis, maybe Boise State, and somebody else I can't remember who. The Notre Dame and those seventy seventy two teams would divide into six leagues, basically like soccer. They would divide into five or excuse me, six, twelve team leagues, and you would move up or down based on how you based on how you on how you played, and so you would play the eleven teams in your league, and then you'd have one permanent rival for us in probably be Louisville that you would play every year, and then the top two teams or three teams move up, and the top three teams move down, and you would base it and you would go up and down. And the theory is you would play against that are of your caliber and then move up or down accordingly.

00:37:04
Speaker 5: Do you like that or not? I think I kind of like it.

00:37:07
Speaker 6: It's how European soccer is done.

00:37:09
Speaker 5: Yeah, I think I do kind of like it. You know, like you said, you're playing a good competition every single night.

00:37:15
Speaker 4: Here's the bad thing about it, though, when it comes to recruiting. All the guys are going to play in that top twelve league.

00:37:23
Speaker 7: Uh huh yeah.

00:37:24
Speaker 4: Right, so like they're gonna have such an advantage in recruiting that I think it makes it hard. Even if you made that top league, you wouldn't necessarily have good enough players Mario to be able to participate in Yeah, I.

00:37:35
Speaker 7: Like it, but like I said, it might hurt recruiting. The good thing about it do you get to play teams that are on the same level as you you.

00:37:41
Speaker 4: Would you'd be playing teams that are very similar to you, and you would have a chance to you know, you could be competitive in all twelve games in.

00:37:50
Speaker 5: Theory, Well, how does it work in the soccer league? Is that generally will like people like that formula. Well, that's what they're used to. It's exciting.

00:37:59
Speaker 4: But the problem is the same six or seven teams win every single year, and so I think that makes it hard. But I think people like the able to move up and down and you would play different teams every year. You know, every year you'd play whoever happens to be in your league. SOFC and I you it'll ever happen because the SEC is not going to voluntarily break.

00:38:22
Speaker 5: Up too much money there, But it would.

00:38:24
Speaker 6: Be interesting to see who's up next? Hunter, Hunter, go ahead, Hunter.

00:38:29
Speaker 14: Hey, Matt comment a couple questions. First comment, Sorghum Festival in Springfield is this weekend if anybody wanst to come out.

00:38:36
Speaker 4: A lot of festivals and by the way, all around the state, these next two weeks are huge festival weekends all around the state. If you've never been to like a small town festival, you gotta go, especially on this bye week and the Sorghum festival in Springfield.

00:38:49
Speaker 7: We've been to it before.

00:38:50
Speaker 5: That is very nice, But go ahead.

00:38:54
Speaker 14: Last two things. Did you see the comments that Paul Finbaum made basically saying Kentucky is a subpar program and ole Miss should have never lost to him.

00:39:01
Speaker 10: Yeah?

00:39:02
Speaker 6: I know.

00:39:02
Speaker 4: I mean no offense to Paul, because I do like Paul as a person. He just says stuff because he has to, and I think every day he says stupider stuff just to try to be on. So, like, say, Kentucky's a subpar program, what is your standard for that? I mean, we have won, right, I think more SEC games than all but six or seven programs in the last you know what ten years?

00:39:31
Speaker 6: What subpar mean everybody us and below? I just I think that's silly exactly.

00:39:37
Speaker 14: And the last question I had is do you think there's a chance that we may get game day for at Texas or at Louisville. If it's a chance for a playoff.

00:39:47
Speaker 4: Will not be There's no chance we'll have it against Louisville. I appreciate the call, because you've got Alabama, Auburn, Texas, Texas A and m Ohio State Michigan.

00:39:54
Speaker 6: We will not have it for that.

00:39:56
Speaker 4: There is a world where if you beat Tennessee, you could maybe have it for the Texas game, Ryan, if they're number one and we went in like you know, seven and two or whatever, eight and two, but we're a long way away.

00:40:11
Speaker 5: Yeah, there is a world it could potentially happen, but you would have to beat Tennessee, I think to get that done.

00:40:15
Speaker 4: I mean, we missed our shot at game day. Game day for us should have been we should have beaten South Carolina. We had game day wrapped up right there was gonna be here. They've already acknowledged they were coming. If we beat South Carolina, Mario, that was our chance, and we blew a chance was right there.

00:40:30
Speaker 7: And we didn't. We didn't get the job done.

00:40:32
Speaker 4: I do like the game day is at Cal this week for Cal Miami. Did we talk about what they're calling the game?

00:40:42
Speaker 5: We talked privately, you didn't say it on the show.

00:40:45
Speaker 6: So it's Cal and Miami. They're calling it woke versus Coke.

00:40:50
Speaker 5: Which is actually kind of funny. It's kind of funny.

00:40:56
Speaker 4: Woke versus Coke to me is a funny very for those two programs. Who's neck, Donny, Donnie, go ahead, Dottie.

00:41:05
Speaker 15: Hey guys, nice talk to you. Montgomery County is eastern Kentucky.

00:41:13
Speaker 6: Wrong about it doesn't really get into.

00:41:15
Speaker 15: The mountains until you get the Bath County. Also, I wanted to mention a transfer because we talked. You talked about UNC Wilmington, UH players that played at Kentucky, Carlos tumor. And the last thing is the Sorghum Festival is Morgan County.

00:41:36
