<v Speaker 1>Welcome in everybody to the Non Tendo podcast episode. I <v Speaker 1>don't even know. Honestly, I'm in my basement the new <v Speaker 1>studio set, but I'm joined by Oh, someone's so beautiful, <v Speaker 1>someone's so sweet and loving and caring. <v Speaker 2>Someone who was available today. <v Speaker 1>Someone who was available to do the podcast, My wife, <v Speaker 1>Kimberly Toon. Can we get a round of applause by <v Speaker 1>every single person in the room. Oh, that's just you <v Speaker 1>and me. That's just you and me today. All right. <v Speaker 1>I'm very excited to do today's episode because we have <v Speaker 1>a lot to talk about. I'm only a little annoyed <v Speaker 1>that every episode has become about the Switch two leagues. Yeah. <v Speaker 1>I think we sound good. I think I can take <v Speaker 1>these off for a second. I like, No, they're very comfy, <v Speaker 1>they're very nice. I sleep in them. <v Speaker 2>You do not plastic? <v Speaker 1>Ah. Yeah, it feels like every episode we're doing lately <v Speaker 1>is about the Switch two leaks, which. <v Speaker 2>Is a little like the biggest news. That's the big thing. <v Speaker 2>There's no like a huge game coming right now. <v Speaker 1>I mean the new. <v Speaker 2>Zelda's like what next week? It's not comparable at all. No, <v Speaker 2>it's not the console. <v Speaker 1>I mean, you know about this is the thing is, <v Speaker 1>this is the good, the good bit, This is the <v Speaker 1>exciting bit. And I wasn't a content creator really. I <v Speaker 1>mean I was, but like I wasn't really covering it <v Speaker 1>like this when the switch was coming out, So I <v Speaker 1>don't remember what that was really like as far as <v Speaker 1>leaks or anything. But yeah, this is the exciting bit. <v Speaker 1>Hold on before we continue, just want to double check <v Speaker 1>that everybody in chat it sounds good, audio sounds fine, <v Speaker 1>Kim and I level sound fine. Let me know if <v Speaker 1>Kimney's to be louder. I'm doing this all on my <v Speaker 1>own because Ham is in La California in England. No, <v Speaker 1>so he's gone to California with his fiance Dolly. They're <v Speaker 1>doing Twitch Con and Mike Carr is back in the shop, <v Speaker 1>so there was no going to the studio now. So <v Speaker 1>it's me and me and Kim in the room. But <v Speaker 1>everyone says it sounds good, sounds great, Okay, good. I <v Speaker 1>appreciate you guys a lot. Yeah, this is the exciting bit. <v Speaker 1>Because we were coming up to the reveal of the <v Speaker 1>switch to when do you think it is? So we've <v Speaker 1>been talking about it recently and the rumors are according <v Speaker 1>to some industry people that have been leaking information that <v Speaker 1>Nintendo were going to reveal it before the twenty six <v Speaker 1>of this month or if they don't, which I always <v Speaker 1>love the ore. There's always an end or there's always <v Speaker 1>they're either going to reveal it this month or later <v Speaker 1>or another time. But the ore was early October. <v Speaker 2>Okay, that's still not that bad. No. <v Speaker 1>Essentially, they're trying to say that there's a big Tokyo <v Speaker 1>game show and this month and they just don't want <v Speaker 1>to reveal it during that. Okay. So but the thing is, <v Speaker 1>we get the new Zelda coming out on the twenty six, <v Speaker 1>and I mean we're only a few days away. We're <v Speaker 1>like half what about half a week to week away. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, it's a little lesson a week. <v Speaker 1>I almost feel like what they really reveal it right <v Speaker 1>before releasing a new Zelda? I mean, is that is <v Speaker 1>that going to help the hype is gonna get in <v Speaker 1>the way, it's going. <v Speaker 2>To get in the way. I think they're going to <v Speaker 2>do it after Yeah. <v Speaker 1>It feels like it feels like an after that. <v Speaker 2>When was that thing going to open in Japan? Because <v Speaker 2>wasn't that the rumor? <v Speaker 1>Oh no, that wasn't the rumor. We were telling you <v Speaker 1>about that after the episode, because Ham and I came <v Speaker 1>to some little theory and eyads that we were like, oh, <v Speaker 1>what if they reveal it maybe with the museum. That <v Speaker 1>was just us. <v Speaker 2>I feel like that's kind of a good idea. <v Speaker 1>I mean yeah, because it's all right, I mean it <v Speaker 1>makes sense. <v Speaker 2>Here's a new thing, and also here's another new thing fun. <v Speaker 1>Yeah. No, I agree. Yeah, but as as it tends <v Speaker 1>to have and we've seen it before with the switch <v Speaker 1>light and other like PlayStation Pro even is a good example. <v Speaker 1>Right before these companies reveal something, it starts getting leaked <v Speaker 1>and we're and we're seeing it again here with what <v Speaker 1>looks to be the Nintendo switch to design shell three <v Speaker 1>D mock up, all of it coming out of the <v Speaker 1>manufacturing place that is that is working and designing it, <v Speaker 1>as well as all of the specs of everything that's <v Speaker 1>in the console. <v Speaker 2>Isn't that exactly what happened with the Pro one? <v Speaker 1>Uh? Yeah? Yeah? The manufacturer Do you mean the PlayStation <v Speaker 1>five Pro? No? <v Speaker 2>No, no, the switch with the old lead. <v Speaker 1>Leaked that. Yeah, it's always the manufacturer. It's either the <v Speaker 1>manufacturer leaking it or like someone people pay too close <v Speaker 1>attention to stuff like this, and industry insiders and business <v Speaker 1>insiders realizing, Oh, this company that makes switch console hardware <v Speaker 1>is ramping up production this order. You know, stuff like that. <v Speaker 2>I care that much. That's kind of fun to pay <v Speaker 2>attention to that type of stuff. <v Speaker 1>I mean, I only feel bad because as a content creator, <v Speaker 1>I have always tried to do something different every week <v Speaker 1>and keep things fresh, and to keep going on about <v Speaker 1>the same thing is like, but every week it is <v Speaker 1>something new, And I'm trying to follow the leads of <v Speaker 1>things that actually look legit and not just speculate on <v Speaker 1>on random. <v Speaker 2>People fortune enjoy the stupid leagues that aren't. <v Speaker 1>Actually the stupid leagues are fun when they're like over <v Speaker 1>the top and we can laugh at them a little bit. Yeah, <v Speaker 1>those are fun, But no, this one looks legit. I <v Speaker 1>messaged a spawn wave. I message some other people that <v Speaker 1>are close to stuff like this, and I'm like, are <v Speaker 1>we actually believing this? It's usually my first go to, <v Speaker 1>and I forgot Spawn's exact words, but it was something like, <v Speaker 1>I mean, be hesitant about anything, but yes, it's looking <v Speaker 1>likely that this is the switch to And as the <v Speaker 1>title suggests, looks a little boring. Oh but that's good. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, you don't really. I was trying to think about it, like, <v Speaker 2>how would you make it look different? <v Speaker 1>Exactly? Not stupid exactly. I actually ran into this issue <v Speaker 1>when I was making my switch to mock ups. Yeah, <v Speaker 1>because I realized when I was designing my perfect switch to, <v Speaker 1>it's just going to look like a switch. <v Speaker 2>Otherwise it's look like a kid's toy. <v Speaker 1>Yeah. So I had the designers, I'm like, can you <v Speaker 1>please make it look a little futuristic? Can you make <v Speaker 1>it look a little like rounded and bubbly? And they did, <v Speaker 1>And I think the mock ups are great, but ultimately <v Speaker 1>they look a bit goofy. Yeah, but I was just <v Speaker 1>trying to come up with a way where they would <v Speaker 1>look different. Actually it it'd be interesting if I pulled up, Yeah, <v Speaker 1>the ones that I don't I'm different, I'll try and <v Speaker 1>find them. Yeah, pull those up. But before that, let's <v Speaker 1>let's just dive in. Let me let me think, hold on, <v Speaker 1>because my mind's racing a mile a minute. I think <v Speaker 1>we've covered everything with no ham there's not going to <v Speaker 1>be any voicemail. We do have a sponsor today, but <v Speaker 1>we'll get to that later. For that, which is these <v Speaker 1>wonderful headsets provided by Turtle Beach. Very nice, brand new <v Speaker 1>out of the box. Actually, the only reason I'm not <v Speaker 1>wearing them is because we can't connect two at the <v Speaker 1>same time, only one, and I only really need it <v Speaker 1>to check the audio levels. And I think we sound <v Speaker 1>really nice. Yeah, we sound really good. But if it <v Speaker 1>was weird blocking you out? Okay, all right, let's take <v Speaker 1>a look at this switch to leak with the pictures <v Speaker 1>and everything. Bdbbb boop. So here it is. Okay, so <v Speaker 1>this is a retweet because the retweet has all the specs, <v Speaker 1>and we'll look at that in a second. But let <v Speaker 1>me let me go to the pictures here. So yeah, again, <v Speaker 1>no way of knowing a hundred for sure if this <v Speaker 1>is the full thing, if this is the real thing <v Speaker 1>that we're looking at here, let me just make sure <v Speaker 1>that our audio is coming through. Yeah, it sounds it <v Speaker 1>looks good to me. Hold on, okay, yeah, it's good. <v Speaker 1>You know what I should do. I should pull the <v Speaker 1>chat up on my phone so that I can see <v Speaker 1>the chat at all times, because I can't see it. <v Speaker 2>I know. <v Speaker 1>Well, I've also lost the chat right now, sorry, everybody, <v Speaker 1>give me two seconds, all right, we got it good. <v Speaker 1>I'm just gonna leave that there, all right, So yeah, <v Speaker 1>take it with a grain of salt. But this is <v Speaker 1>looking like what the switch too looks like. So right <v Speaker 1>here you might be able to already tell what I <v Speaker 1>mean by a little boring because we're just looking at <v Speaker 1>the switch. We we're just looking at the switch. <v Speaker 2>Kind of The buttons are a little bit different, so. <v Speaker 1>They're actually not the only difference here. There's two differences. <v Speaker 1>One you can't tell on its own, but there's a <v Speaker 1>size comparison. It's bigger. It's actually looking like about an <v Speaker 1>eight inch screen, whereas the current O lead switch has <v Speaker 1>a seven inch screen. And then the other difference is <v Speaker 1>on the right hand side, there's an extra button here. <v Speaker 2>I saw that. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, So like we've got the capture button on the left, <v Speaker 1>the home on the right, and then just an extra <v Speaker 1>random button. <v Speaker 2>Do the trigger buttons on the back look a little <v Speaker 2>bit wider. <v Speaker 1>To you so we can click through to that because <v Speaker 1>the trigger button, there's the there's the shell on its own. <v Speaker 2>Oh um, that's definitely a button then, because. <v Speaker 1>Yes, but also something that's interesting here. And I don't <v Speaker 1>know if you were part of this conversation or you <v Speaker 1>were there for this episode, but we talked about how <v Speaker 1>the rumors are, and this is why I do like <v Speaker 1>covering all the switch rumors, because we have pieced a <v Speaker 1>lot of this together, even through the podcast over the months. <v Speaker 1>The joy cons are magnetic. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, yeah, that's a cool addition. <v Speaker 1>I do like that they do actually click in. Someone <v Speaker 1>in chat said I thought this was confirmed fake. No, <v Speaker 1>I haven't seen anybody confirm this as fake. As far <v Speaker 1>as I'm aware, We're still leaning towards these being real. <v Speaker 1>But I'd be interested to know if anyone in chat <v Speaker 1>has any like actual evidence or anyone that's actually proved <v Speaker 1>this to be fake. So magnetic joy cons I think <v Speaker 1>are awesome for a lot of reasons. We've talked about this, <v Speaker 1>but structurally on the original switch, the joy con rails <v Speaker 1>are a weak point. Yeah, they get really loose, they <v Speaker 1>can snap off. I should have grabbed my switch, but <v Speaker 1>one of mine is so loose to the point now <v Speaker 1>where I can just push it off. I don't have <v Speaker 1>to press the button. But also, like, if you snap them, <v Speaker 1>they will break, whereas these, if you snap them they'll <v Speaker 1>come out, They'll come a post, which is what the point. <v Speaker 2>Is for kids. Like, Yeah, it's gotta be a pain <v Speaker 2>in the butt when your hands are small to try <v Speaker 2>to like. <v Speaker 1>And it's also it's going to add to the futuristic <v Speaker 1>feel of this thing, especially because we saw a console <v Speaker 1>use magnetic joy cons already and like later on the <v Speaker 1>table and as they push the joy cons closer, they <v Speaker 1>jumped and they snapped in and it was kind of <v Speaker 1>like sick. It's kind of cool. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, I like the magnetic thing. I think all that <v Speaker 2>really matters with this is the specs, because well, yeah, <v Speaker 2>that's exactly it. It looks we will get to that, <v Speaker 2>but that's exactly pretty much. I mean, there's a couple <v Speaker 2>of differences. <v Speaker 1>So, yeah, these triggers are almost the same, except what <v Speaker 1>the hell are these little like side buttons. I don't know. <v Speaker 1>They're so quirky. I don't even understand how Yeah, I don't. <v Speaker 1>I really don't know. It's so strange. What's chat saying here? <v Speaker 1>They might be real still, based on the comments, I <v Speaker 1>think it's pretty clear nobody has a clue. Yeah, I <v Speaker 1>heard a developer confirmed it was real. Man, It's so <v Speaker 1>it's so interesting. <v Speaker 2>It's yeah, it's like fifty to fifty at this point, <v Speaker 2>and honestly, if it is real cool. I mean it <v Speaker 2>looks nice. <v Speaker 1>Oh here's another difference. Oh there's two USBC slots, so <v Speaker 1>there's one at the top and one of the bottom. Okay, <v Speaker 1>other than that, everything's the same, Like the card slots <v Speaker 1>in the same spot. The buttons are in the same spot. <v Speaker 1>You say, why. <v Speaker 2>Why you can put a headset. <v Speaker 1>And no, I mean there's a lot of nice reasons <v Speaker 1>to have two. One is you can obviously charge it <v Speaker 1>while plugging something else in, which is usually only really <v Speaker 1>help fall on like handheld PCs, because you can charge <v Speaker 1>it and also have a controller plugged in, or like <v Speaker 1>an extra monitor plugged in. I don't really know what <v Speaker 1>you could do with a switch without getting to conspiracy <v Speaker 1>theory before we actually talk about what is essentially well <v Speaker 1>supposedly confirmed here. I did see someone theorizing imagine if <v Speaker 1>they made a screen attachment that you could attach to <v Speaker 1>the top and you could turn it into like a <v Speaker 1>DS or three DS and then they and then they <v Speaker 1>released DS and three DS games on the Antendo switch online. <v Speaker 1>That's why they can't because there's only one screen, right, <v Speaker 1>But if you could do two screen, yeah, and you <v Speaker 1>know how when they released like Nintendo switch online and <v Speaker 1>they released it within an E S controller, and then <v Speaker 1>the sixty four released with a sixty four controller. If <v Speaker 1>they did a DS or three DS, they could just <v Speaker 1>release a screen and that would be there. <v Speaker 2>That'd be so cool. <v Speaker 1>And then you could also play WEU games. <v Speaker 2>Oh yeah, there's a lot of options there. <v Speaker 1>It's interesting. It's a little goolf fee, but it's interesting. <v Speaker 2>I don't know how that's going to look once. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, it might look a bit silly. So here is <v Speaker 1>a size comparison that I found someone dead. <v Speaker 2>Yeah that's a way bigger screen. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, much bigger. So, I mean I think this is <v Speaker 1>a regular switch here six point two inch screen compared <v Speaker 1>to this eight inch screen. But then even compared to <v Speaker 1>the O lead, which I think is this screenshot. <v Speaker 2>That's still a significant difference. Yeah. What heavy is this <v Speaker 2>gonna be? <v Speaker 1>I don't think it'd be too much heavy to carry around. <v Speaker 1>I don't think it'd be too much heavier. Yeah, I <v Speaker 1>I when I was building my perfect switch, I did <v Speaker 1>my One of my main things was I didn't want <v Speaker 1>a bezel because I feel like a bezel just looks <v Speaker 1>so dated. <v Speaker 2>I do think it looks like an old flat screen. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, I mean, it's got a bigger bezel than the <v Speaker 1>O lead did. But the trade off is even with <v Speaker 1>the O lead's bezel, this screen is bigger. <v Speaker 2>It is. It's a bigger screen, and maybe that's why <v Speaker 2>they bigger, because they're like, well, we don't want to <v Speaker 2>take that part off, so we'll just make the screen <v Speaker 2>a little bigger. <v Speaker 1>I also think there's something about the rail system on <v Speaker 1>the old switch that's so ugly, and something about this <v Speaker 1>new magnetic like enclosed, it's a little bit cleaner. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, looks like a little tablet. <v Speaker 1>Oh, the buttons on the joy cons are bigger. Okay, <v Speaker 1>so if you're playing one handed, that not as like <v Speaker 1>like a tiny and nubby to try and click. And <v Speaker 1>here's a back of comparison to a old. <v Speaker 2>It doesn't have a kickstand or that's the kicks. <v Speaker 1>No, it's got a kickstand like the new one where <v Speaker 1>it's like this whole. <v Speaker 2>Plate bed because those other ones break. <v Speaker 1>It looks just like an old switch, but but larger. <v Speaker 1>So where are the specs? All right? Here are the specs? <v Speaker 2>Now? <v Speaker 1>Honestly, a lot of this is going to mean nothing <v Speaker 1>to you and me. Oh yeah, because we're not I'm <v Speaker 1>not going to know what we don't understand computers. What <v Speaker 1>you can have said. There's a few things, there's a <v Speaker 1>few fun things we can take out of this, but <v Speaker 1>mostly as far as we know, it's supposed to have <v Speaker 1>this a similar level. The power is like a PlayStation four. <v Speaker 2>Now I'm noticing one thing immediately. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, hit me, hit me. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, I know you know what that means. <v Speaker 1>Well I don't, but you I know a lot of things. <v Speaker 1>But you go, yeah, well that's part Yes, that'd be <v Speaker 1>sick if they bring that back. Actually, but that's part <v Speaker 1>of my theory. I was going to talk about if <v Speaker 1>you do bring DS games to the console. Somehow, a <v Speaker 1>lot of DS games used the microphone, like Phantom Alglass <v Speaker 1>you needed to blow into. <v Speaker 2>The microphone, Cooking Mama games. Yes, yeah, a. <v Speaker 1>Lot of games, so you wouldn't need a microphone. Yeah, <v Speaker 1>and that's another a little bit of evidence of it. <v Speaker 1>Could we could, But you're right, I mean, even if <v Speaker 1>we don't go down that rabbit hole of conspiracy theory <v Speaker 1>about DS, they could just make a new games. <v Speaker 2>With microphones because that was a fun thing. <v Speaker 1>Yeah. And also right now, with the switch, we've had <v Speaker 1>to use a crappy mobile lap anytime we wanted to <v Speaker 1>play games online, like you want to play Splatoon. You <v Speaker 1>got it down the mobile app, link your games and <v Speaker 1>talk to people that way. If there's just a microphone <v Speaker 1>built in, you can just load into a splittooen four <v Speaker 1>lobby and talk into your switch, which is way I <v Speaker 1>hope they do it, because the whole reason they did <v Speaker 1>it the other way was they have this whole like <v Speaker 1>child friendly thing. But I think it's time to move on. <v Speaker 1>Just let us talk to people natively in the games <v Speaker 1>and a build in microphone. That's how PlayStation does it. <v Speaker 1>I don't know. You've never probably never seen me play <v Speaker 1>Call of Duty on PlayStation, but you'll load into a <v Speaker 1>card lobby and you'll just hear like a husband and <v Speaker 1>wife arguing because they don't realize their controller is recording <v Speaker 1>their whole conversation. <v Speaker 2>Get off the cord. <v Speaker 1>So good. So yeah, that's the kind of stuff we <v Speaker 1>can take from this. You and me. <v Speaker 2>A living that looks like it makes any sense to me. <v Speaker 2>The cooling fan, that's nice because it does get really <v Speaker 2>hot when you're playing dual calling. <v Speaker 1>I don't even know if the original switch didn't have <v Speaker 1>a dual calling fan, I don't know, but it also <v Speaker 1>has an NFC read A chip, which we can uh, <v Speaker 1>we could have assumed so you can use ambos. <v Speaker 2>Well, yeah, they're not going to get rid of the ambos. No, <v Speaker 2>especially with the new animal crossing coming out, you have <v Speaker 2>to have. <v Speaker 1>I mean, they use that technology for several things. But <v Speaker 1>also if it's backwards compatible, you have to I saw <v Speaker 1>people in the comments like it's time to give up <v Speaker 1>on NFC readA. We don't need it, but we do <v Speaker 1>because if you want to do backwards compat, if you <v Speaker 1>want to be able to play Tears of the Kingdom, <v Speaker 1>you're gonna need to use your ambos like you would <v Speaker 1>on a switch. <v Speaker 2>Now, personally, I think the plastic figurine ambos are a <v Speaker 2>bit dated. I think the little cards are fine. <v Speaker 1>You don't well, I don't want to call I don't <v Speaker 1>want a toy are you talking about? <v Speaker 2>I don't know. <v Speaker 1>They're just so expensed. Well okay, let me let me <v Speaker 1>let me put this to you. What if they release <v Speaker 1>ninten Dogs with nin ten dogs and ebos, and you <v Speaker 1>buy a little Nintendo. <v Speaker 2>You buy little dogs, but you're gonna want to leave <v Speaker 2>them in the park. <v Speaker 1>You buy like a little sheep of dog. Uh, huh, <v Speaker 1>you're gonna when you but listen, you scan it in <v Speaker 1>the game, and that's your dog, and then you can <v Speaker 1>take your dog with you where you go, and every <v Speaker 1>time you scan it back in, it's like it's say, <v Speaker 1>all the memory of your dog onto the little nintendog, <v Speaker 1>and then you can take it to a friend's switch, <v Speaker 1>put your little nintend dog on the switch, and it <v Speaker 1>loads in your dog with their personality in their switch <v Speaker 1>for a playtime. <v Speaker 2>That's cute. <v Speaker 1>But still no, not still, come on, that's so good? <v Speaker 1>How did that not win you over? <v Speaker 2>I would love abos man. They take up so much room, take. <v Speaker 1>Up more room. If they're all little doggies, take up <v Speaker 1>more you're gonna buy Yeah, I don't know. Sorry, sorry <v Speaker 1>to tell you that. A lot of this other stuff, <v Speaker 1>I'm actually not too sorry because I'm sure ninety percent <v Speaker 1>of you also look at this like it's the matrix code. <v Speaker 1>But essentially, all we need to really gather I think <v Speaker 1>is it's going to have like the power of a <v Speaker 1>PlayStation four. <v Speaker 2>I'm just hoping it's good competition for the stream deck <v Speaker 2>and stuff, because those can run so well, and that's <v Speaker 2>kind of where they need to go with it. It <v Speaker 2>needs to be as powerful as those, and I don't <v Speaker 2>know if that's possible. <v Speaker 1>So I'm so glad you said that, Kimberin, because that <v Speaker 1>leads me to my point of I'm glad it's boring. <v Speaker 2>Yeah. <v Speaker 1>Oh, I don't even know where to begin with this. <v Speaker 1>But when we were all trying to think of what <v Speaker 1>Nintendo would do next, I think as Nintendo fans, you <v Speaker 1>always kind of your brain goes to, like, what wacky <v Speaker 1>thing will they do next? Like, yeah, because growing up <v Speaker 1>after the Super Nintendo, which was essentially just the NES <v Speaker 1>but more powerful, you had the sixty four, which was <v Speaker 1>had a wacky controller, and it went to you know, <v Speaker 1>three D graphics, which that was a great jump. Then <v Speaker 1>it was like GameCube, which is like a portable cube <v Speaker 1>you could take places. Then it went to the Wi <v Speaker 1>which came with a motion control stick, then the Wiu, <v Speaker 1>which came with a tablet, and then even the jump <v Speaker 1>to Switch was also completely different. It was a hybrid <v Speaker 1>console with these joy cons you could snap off. It <v Speaker 1>was like a hybrid of all their consoles in one. <v Speaker 1>So then you always think about what's next, and I <v Speaker 1>think a lot of us was picturing some like new <v Speaker 1>crazy Nintendo toy gimmick thing. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, but that's not really where least right now. <v Speaker 1>It's not really where we need to be. <v Speaker 2>Any of those things are very indicative of the time. <v Speaker 2>Think about like what they looked like compared to like <v Speaker 2>what toys looked like. <v Speaker 1>Then that's I agree. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, And they're competing with like the stream Deck what's that. <v Speaker 1>Other one, steam Deck rock ally on all of these <v Speaker 1>emerging hands and they. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, and they're all like really really beefy, and they <v Speaker 2>can run a lot of stuff that's kind of just <v Speaker 2>what you need to do right now with a console. <v Speaker 1>I agree. <v Speaker 2>I also, though, am hopeful that they will at some <v Speaker 2>point revisit the VR situation. Yeah, it's like the only <v Speaker 2>one that's not doing it right now. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, I think that's a whole investment, and I don't <v Speaker 1>think I want them to focus on that. <v Speaker 2>No, but at some point I would like some VR <v Speaker 2>Nintendo games. <v Speaker 1>I think that would beyond. <v Speaker 2>That would be I was thinking Mario Party or that <v Speaker 2>Mario d DR game from the was that the GameCube? <v Speaker 1>Yeah, I guess, uh, But yeah, I don't want them <v Speaker 1>to make some whacking thing because the thing they just <v Speaker 1>did sold like one hundred million units. Yeah, and I <v Speaker 1>think just do that again, but better. <v Speaker 2>They just need to make the thing that's really good. <v Speaker 1>Yes, better. <v Speaker 2>You don't need to if it was crap like I'm sorry, <v Speaker 2>like the we you if it was duty, then you <v Speaker 2>know you got to make a whole new thing. But <v Speaker 2>the switch was really good. They just need to make <v Speaker 2>it run better. Basically. <v Speaker 1>The other thing too, is a lot of people are <v Speaker 1>looking at this and thinking it looks more boring than <v Speaker 1>it is because this is just a Matt Gray probably <v Speaker 1>designed to be like the original switch. It's not going <v Speaker 1>to it might look it could be white, it could <v Speaker 1>be multicolor. <v Speaker 2>Is they're going to release a ton of colors like <v Speaker 2>they did with the last It. <v Speaker 1>Could be anything like, we really don't know what the <v Speaker 1>coloring is gonna look like. Yeah, I mean obviously they <v Speaker 1>went red and blue last time. Yeah, maybe they go <v Speaker 1>with different color. It's hard to beat red and blue <v Speaker 1>because they did. They did all the color swap joy <v Speaker 1>cons and none of them really hit like the red <v Speaker 1>and blue. <v Speaker 2>No, I don't think anything's going to sell like, so you've. <v Speaker 1>Got you got black, red and blue, and white. I <v Speaker 1>feel like still ye. <v Speaker 2>People, because it goes with all the other consoles. <v Speaker 1>But we'll see what they do with it. We'll see <v Speaker 1>how it looks. <v Speaker 2>I'm wondering if it's going to be easier to put <v Speaker 2>cases on these, because if that's possible, they could do <v Speaker 2>their own cases. <v Speaker 1>Like what was so hortd to put cases on the <v Speaker 1>old ones to unscrew everything? Oh, you meant, that'll still <v Speaker 1>be hard. <v Speaker 2>But if you could just snap something on there, well you. <v Speaker 1>Can snap something on. You can snap something on. There <v Speaker 1>was plenty of places that made snappy suit. <v Speaker 2>They didn't really come out with anything. It was like <v Speaker 2>third parties. <v Speaker 1>Well they didn't, ye know, That's what I'm saying. Maybe <v Speaker 1>they should maybe, I mean they with the The only <v Speaker 1>other example I can think of is with like the <v Speaker 1>two DS Excel or something. You could just switch out <v Speaker 1>the face plate and they released some separate face plates <v Speaker 1>for that. Yeah, maybe that could be interesting. I think <v Speaker 1>what this is best comparable to as well for reference, <v Speaker 1>I think because Nintendo, again, every every console they do <v Speaker 1>is so different. I think comparatively, the closest example of <v Speaker 1>Nintendo history we've had to this before is when they <v Speaker 1>went from DS to three DS. So if anyone's like, oh, <v Speaker 1>just doing a more powerful console probably isn't going to work. <v Speaker 1>They should have done something more fancy or something more gimmicky. <v Speaker 1>The jump from DS to three DS was quite literally <v Speaker 1>just a more powerful console in the same format. It <v Speaker 1>was clamshell. It had a top screen and a bottom screen, <v Speaker 1>and the three DS had improved internals, improved graphic capabilities, <v Speaker 1>and also had three D that you didn't need glasses <v Speaker 1>to wear. Now hopefully there's no three D in this <v Speaker 1>one doesn't seem to be. That would be wild, but <v Speaker 1>that's what I can mostly compare it to. And it <v Speaker 1>makes sense because that was a handheld and this is <v Speaker 1>also a handheld as much as it's a home console. <v Speaker 1>So yeah, it's just like that. It's just it's taking <v Speaker 1>the same thing that already worked, example the DS, but <v Speaker 1>making it capable of doing more example the three DS. <v Speaker 1>The only other time I think that's happened in the <v Speaker 1>home console space comparatively really and truly is either the <v Speaker 1>Any to the Super Nintendo, because it was quite literally <v Speaker 1>the same thing pretty much, or possibly Super Nintendo to <v Speaker 1>sixty four. Now, the only thing there is the sixty <v Speaker 1>four huge jump from well, it was a graphic jump, <v Speaker 1>but it was still a console you put a cartridge <v Speaker 1>into It's just the controller was so wacky. Alexa stop <v Speaker 1>sorry about that. I'll finish this thought. So this actually <v Speaker 1>also goes into my video where I was talking about <v Speaker 1>my theory for the Switch too, because I said, what <v Speaker 1>would they call it? Yeah, and the only other time, <v Speaker 1>and I predicted it in the video, I was the <v Speaker 1>only other time I think they've done a console where <v Speaker 1>it's the same thing but more powerful for a home console. <v Speaker 1>Is any s to Supernintendo and the and the and <v Speaker 1>the Switch. I really see it as a Nintendo going <v Speaker 1>back to their roots and starting a whole new generation <v Speaker 1>of something that has all of Nintendo's history baked into <v Speaker 1>one console. So if they're going to do a sequel <v Speaker 1>of that console and make it the same thing, what <v Speaker 1>do they call it other than the Switch two, which <v Speaker 1>is the easy go to super Switch? <v Speaker 2>Yeh, super switch is cute. <v Speaker 1>I still think super Switch is on the table. <v Speaker 2>You could call it switch to but make the two <v Speaker 2>the eyes put two eyes and switch. <v Speaker 1>Oh maybe that gives me we you or me? But <v Speaker 1>but will you? I don't like it because the we <v Speaker 1>you like. I don't want this to be anything like <v Speaker 1>the Wi You stay away from the wind say it. <v Speaker 2>Like, just put the two eyes, because then you don't have. <v Speaker 1>To put a switch to with two eyes like the Wii. <v Speaker 2>And they just make the eyes a different color. Maybe <v Speaker 2>it is cute. <v Speaker 1>I'm just scared because I don't want it to do. <v Speaker 1>I don't want because also, here's the thing. Here's why <v Speaker 1>the Wi You failed because everybody thought it was attachment <v Speaker 1>for the switch. Sorry, they thought it was an attachment <v Speaker 1>for the Wii, like a tablet you put on your <v Speaker 1>original me. And if they if they just yes, if <v Speaker 1>they just call it the switch with two eyes, I'm <v Speaker 1>just worried people would think, wait, is this like an <v Speaker 1>upgrade to the original switch? Is this is kind of <v Speaker 1>but is it like is it a switch but bigger? No, <v Speaker 1>it's a whole new thing with whole new games. That's <v Speaker 1>the confusion. <v Speaker 2>But it's backwards compatible and it's basically the switch. <v Speaker 1>Yes, but you did, but so was the Weiu. So <v Speaker 1>you do not want that. <v Speaker 2>Confusion a different console. <v Speaker 1>The Oh you're not understanding what I'm saying. <v Speaker 2>I'm not. <v Speaker 1>Let me start again. The Wi You failed because the <v Speaker 1>marketing was terrible and the name was too close to <v Speaker 1>the Wii, so people thought it was an attachment for <v Speaker 1>the original Wii and didn't realize it was a whole <v Speaker 1>new console with new games. So if you call the <v Speaker 1>switch the switch to but you don't make it obvious <v Speaker 1>and it's like two little eyes and it looks like <v Speaker 1>it could be a switch, the same thing is going <v Speaker 1>to happen. I'm scared. I just want them to make <v Speaker 1>it so obviously different with either a two or a <v Speaker 1>whole new name. Yeah, but the two I think is cute. <v Speaker 1>It's cute. <v Speaker 2>It's easier than adding a number on the end because <v Speaker 2>the number on the end kind of feels old. <v Speaker 1>Score. We could do a pall we get asked chat <v Speaker 1>if they like the two eyes, the number two, or <v Speaker 1>super switch more. <v Speaker 2>I'm saying, like switch pro Max, that's kind of fun, but. <v Speaker 1>Stop switch pro Max will instantly make everybody think it's <v Speaker 1>just a pro switch. <v Speaker 2>It sounds like a NERF gun. <v Speaker 1>It sounds dumb. Don't they're joking? That chatter is joking. <v Speaker 1>I promise you they're having a goof and a gaff. <v Speaker 1>All right, we gotta do a little sponsor read everybody, <v Speaker 1>and then we're not only going to probably keep talking <v Speaker 1>about this because I have a lot to say but <v Speaker 1>I also want to and Kim even shared this with <v Speaker 1>me this morning, but it was already on the Google sheet. <v Speaker 1>We want to talk about the Power World getting sued <v Speaker 1>by Nintendo, because that's super interesting. I also made a <v Speaker 1>video about that. You made a video, Well, I made <v Speaker 1>a power video where I talked, Yeah, but I talked <v Speaker 1>about how similar they were and that Nintendo was probably <v Speaker 1>gonna suit. <v Speaker 2>I was shocked that they hadn't sued already. <v Speaker 1>Well, me too. That's my video, all right, guys, So <v Speaker 1>bear with me here for one second while I do <v Speaker 1>this sponsored and then we'll get back to it. This <v Speaker 1>is a brand new sponsor for the show, for the podcast, <v Speaker 1>and we haven't had many lately, so oh boy, I <v Speaker 1>appreciate it so much. I'll say that the plan initially <v Speaker 1>was to take all of these to the studio and <v Speaker 1>have everybody wear them for the episode. So I've been <v Speaker 1>putting off doing this until we can get to the studio, <v Speaker 1>but put it off no more so me and Kim <v Speaker 1>are gonna wear them their Turtle Beach headsets. You guys <v Speaker 1>probably know about Turtle Beach. You've probably heard about Turtle Beach, <v Speaker 1>but did you know that they're sponsoring this episode. Today's <v Speaker 1>episode is brought to you by Turtle Beach, the number <v Speaker 1>one brand in gaming headsets and accessories. Then new Gen <v Speaker 1>three Stealth six hundred headset picks up so much crystal <v Speaker 1>clear sound, it's basically cheating, basically cheating. You know, I <v Speaker 1>you know what I can do? I can you know <v Speaker 1>what I set up? I set this up. Woop, don't <v Speaker 1>look poop there you come? <v Speaker 2>Uh? <v Speaker 1>You know I play Valerie every night? Yeah, well, Scoot <v Speaker 1>used to play Valorante with us and he'd never wear <v Speaker 1>a headset and he would always die and we never <v Speaker 1>knew why. And then one day we found out he <v Speaker 1>wasn't wearing a headset, so he didn't have the audio <v Speaker 1>awareness of where people were walking. <v Speaker 2>Oh, so he. <v Speaker 1>Was always like, where where did I die from? And <v Speaker 1>then we found out later he wasn't wearing a headset. <v Speaker 1>So imagine wearing a headset but also wearing a headset <v Speaker 1>with crystal clear sound and being able to hear those <v Speaker 1>footsteps stomping around you as if someone was wearing still <v Speaker 1>toad boots right next to you on your hardwood floors. <v Speaker 1>There ain't no way you're getting shot from behind. I <v Speaker 1>like that you're just staring at the Bierrea. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, it's very nice be yeah. <v Speaker 1>So yeah, you'll hear everything, every footstep, every load, every <v Speaker 1>enemy sneaking up on you. The headsets are so comfortable, <v Speaker 1>and they really are. I also have these big gauges <v Speaker 1>in my ears, these sixteen mil gages five and eight <v Speaker 1>halves inch. I don't know what it's called in America. <v Speaker 1>And usually when I wear headphones without changing out the pads, <v Speaker 1>it hurts my ears. But these are so comfortable, even <v Speaker 1>like out the box, I don't have to do anything. <v Speaker 1>It even says it feel like you're wearing a marshmallow <v Speaker 1>cloud pillow on your head. I know. Best of all, <v Speaker 1>Turtle Beach has Stealth six hundred models for PlayStation, PC <v Speaker 1>and Xbox, including cross compatibility and Bluetooth, so one headset <v Speaker 1>for all of your systems. Whether that's good, I know <v Speaker 1>it's good. Some of them, well, these are wireless and <v Speaker 1>they have a little dongle going into the laptop and <v Speaker 1>you can flick the dongle to be Xbox or pieces, <v Speaker 1>so you could put that doungle in your Xbox and <v Speaker 1>go Xbox. We obviously it's and it was plug and play, <v Speaker 1>like I didn't do anything. There's probably like software and stuff, <v Speaker 1>but I didn't do that on the laptop. I just <v Speaker 1>plug and played. H Whether you're a casual gamer or <v Speaker 1>you haven't touched grass in weeks, Wow, I don't know <v Speaker 1>why this ad read is going so hot. Turtle Beach <v Speaker 1>has the right headset for you. For a limited time only, <v Speaker 1>our listeners get ten percent off their entire order when <v Speaker 1>they use code. I just realized I didn't put it <v Speaker 1>in the description. Oh, and I have to. <v Speaker 2>How are you going to do that? <v Speaker 1>I'm gonna have to run over there and put it <v Speaker 1>in the description. <v Speaker 2>Room quick? <v Speaker 1>Do you want to read the rest of this for me? Where? <v Speaker 1>Come sit here? <v Speaker 2>Oh? <v Speaker 1>God, and just read this line, this, this chunk of <v Speaker 1>this paragraph. <v Speaker 2>Okay, did you read the ten percent off part? Okay? <v Speaker 2>For a limited time only, our listeners get ten percent <v Speaker 2>off their entire order when you use code insert code <v Speaker 2>because you didn't put it in there at Turtle Code. <v Speaker 2>Beat him ups, Nintendo, You fool code Nintendo at Turtle <v Speaker 2>Beach dot com. Ten percent off your order at Turtle <v Speaker 2>Beach dot com with promo code Nintendo. Okay, they're pretty nice. <v Speaker 2>Mine don't work right now? Because you can only do <v Speaker 2>one at a time unfortunately, per console. <v Speaker 1>But they are nice. <v Speaker 2>I have other headphones and they're not quite as. <v Speaker 1>Soft as these, so these are kind of cool. Mm hmm. <v Speaker 2>Anybody got any theories about the switch? He's gone, now <v Speaker 2>let's talk about it. I don't have anything, sir, I'm trying. <v Speaker 1>Man. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, once you got you got anything else? Any theories? <v Speaker 2>You're good, you got it. <v Speaker 1>I needed more time, but you went saying anything. <v Speaker 2>I don't have anything, and that was it. <v Speaker 1>Okay, thanks Turtle Beach for sponsoring. Sorry that was a <v Speaker 1>little bit of a mess. Yeah, just a little That's <v Speaker 1>what happens when I have to do it all on <v Speaker 1>my own. Okay, let me think, is there anything else <v Speaker 1>I need to we need to talk about as far <v Speaker 1>as those leaks go on, I don't think so. Do <v Speaker 1>you guys have any thoughts? <v Speaker 2>Oh? <v Speaker 1>Will they add any more personality into the UI? Somebody asked, so, <v Speaker 1>like the home screen and everything? That's another thing too. <v Speaker 1>We haven't seen this thing turn on, and I feel <v Speaker 1>like the seeing the home screen is also going to <v Speaker 1>be a big like the next gen sort of feel yeah, <v Speaker 1>because I think I think when you put them next <v Speaker 1>to each other, you're going to immediately notice the size difference, <v Speaker 1>hopefully a better quality of just like product, the difference <v Speaker 1>because I feel like, you know, you look at the <v Speaker 1>DS and the three DS, you even look at them <v Speaker 1>on paper like a model of them, but then you <v Speaker 1>hold them, the three DS just feels like a better build, <v Speaker 1>like more quality. So I hope, just like holding this <v Speaker 1>new console is going to feel like, oh, this is <v Speaker 1>the new one for sure, but it's going to look <v Speaker 1>bigger and then hopefully the UI. <v Speaker 2>I see people asking about the DOC too, did they. <v Speaker 1>Didn't talk about that anything. There's no current leak on <v Speaker 1>the dock I did actually see. I did actually see one, <v Speaker 1>but I'm ninety percent huh, no, you don't. I'm ninety <v Speaker 1>percent sure that that it was fake, the one that <v Speaker 1>I saw. The dock leak, no no word on it, <v Speaker 1>no word on it at all. But that is also <v Speaker 1>another element that is going to make this thing look <v Speaker 1>and feel like a new thing is how the dock looks. <v Speaker 1>Because the whole image you have of the switch is <v Speaker 1>usually like the marketing image, is it either next to <v Speaker 1>its dock or docked. So if the DOC looks futuristic, <v Speaker 1>if the dock looks different. I'm really hoping and I <v Speaker 1>don't know if they're going to do it. But the <v Speaker 1>idea I had in my video was that the dock <v Speaker 1>would be like a mount essentially that you would place <v Speaker 1>the switch on top of and it wouldn't cover the screen, <v Speaker 1>and then the screen could display things like the time <v Speaker 1>or news or the weather like like random like it, <v Speaker 1>and you could theme the clock like you could get <v Speaker 1>like a Zelder clock or a Mario clock, or maybe. <v Speaker 2>Like oh no, you don't need a battery life thing <v Speaker 2>because you're charging it. But yeah, I didn't like that <v Speaker 2>it slotted into the dock because it gets scratched. <v Speaker 1>That's also it does scratch the screen sometimes. Yeah, but <v Speaker 1>that wasn't a huge issue in the end. But I mean, <v Speaker 1>why not just have it be open faced? Let me <v Speaker 1>see if if I can pull up my my renders. <v Speaker 2>I just saw the thing. <v Speaker 1>No, for some reason, my scroll up on this mouse <v Speaker 1>isn't working, only my scroll down. So if I go <v Speaker 1>past it, give me a second. What else is chat saying? <v Speaker 2>Better E shop? That's that's a given. Mm hmmm, because <v Speaker 2>that's not great. <v Speaker 1>Here we go I found them. Yeah, yeah, so this <v Speaker 1>was one of my mock ups. Which again it was. <v Speaker 1>It was more I wanted them to just like make <v Speaker 1>it rounded so that it looked different. But I'm glad <v Speaker 1>it doesn't have these like ugly gaps. <v Speaker 2>Oh yeah, I think the round looks like a little <v Speaker 2>kid's toy. <v Speaker 1>Though, yeah it does. <v Speaker 2>You know, you are right, those little baby tablet, which <v Speaker 2>is fine. They I think they should make one for <v Speaker 2>little kids, you know, but uh, a separate one. <v Speaker 1>I had like bigger grus on the back and triggers, <v Speaker 1>but that didn't really happen. <v Speaker 2>I kind of like the ones you did, though, I <v Speaker 2>do want. <v Speaker 1>To like those. I like the back of this. <v Speaker 2>Uh. <v Speaker 1>And then that was the doc my idea for I. <v Speaker 2>Think that's a nice idea because it's slimmer and it <v Speaker 2>you know, it doesn't scratch up the screen. <v Speaker 1>So it didn't quite hit that one. And then this one, <v Speaker 1>Oh god, I know this one is the one I <v Speaker 1>used in the thumbnail because it's so like different looking, <v Speaker 1>so silly. This I really stressed. Can you please just <v Speaker 1>make it look like super thin and like really rounded, <v Speaker 1>because I just wanted it to look I wanted it <v Speaker 1>to just get people to click on it. Yeah, it <v Speaker 1>wasn't really supposed to look how I thought it would <v Speaker 1>end up looking, because it's it's so ugly. <v Speaker 2>That one looks like it would dock into a keyboard. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, that looks like a tableat I do like the <v Speaker 1>dock here dark. <v Speaker 2>Is kind of cool. I feel like it's a bit wide. <v Speaker 1>But yeah, but yeah, that was my little mock up. Yeah, <v Speaker 1>all right, we could probably talk about that all day. <v Speaker 1>I mean, I had other thoughts as far as, uh, <v Speaker 1>it's just what this new thing can mean for the <v Speaker 1>ecosystem of switching and tender, But ultimately my thoughts are, yeah, <v Speaker 1>I mean, it looks a little boring. I honestly, I <v Speaker 1>kind of wish it had something else going on, something <v Speaker 1>a little bit extra personality to it. <v Speaker 2>It will have personality once it's ye shown. <v Speaker 1>I think the fact that it's the I'm just saying, like, <v Speaker 1>if this is it visually, this is what it looks like. <v Speaker 1>It is a little SEMy, which is almost a little disappointing. <v Speaker 1>But really, all I think they needed to do and <v Speaker 1>care about them doing, is boosting the internals, yep, and <v Speaker 1>making it as powerful as possible on the inside. And <v Speaker 1>now it doesn't need to be a PlayStation five pro. <v Speaker 1>It just needs to be more powerful, so that Nintendo's <v Speaker 1>own fun experiences can look and play better than ever. <v Speaker 1>Because also, like you think about some PlayStation four games, <v Speaker 1>like Last of Us was a PlayStation four game. Imagine <v Speaker 1>getting a Zelda game made on a console that was <v Speaker 1>capable of making Last of Us. Yeah, now we're getting somewhere. <v Speaker 1>Now we're cooking. <v Speaker 2>They just they need the bigger games and stuff, and <v Speaker 2>they need to be able to run them properly. Because <v Speaker 2>watching you try to play Alan Wake on that was <v Speaker 2>quite sad. <v Speaker 1>Alan Wake, the one he did the remaster, Yeah, like <v Speaker 1>the remaster, Oh my god, that Alan Wake switch remaster, <v Speaker 1>which honestly legitimately looked worse than the original three to <v Speaker 1>sixty version. Insane. <v Speaker 2>I was excited too, because I've never played it and <v Speaker 2>I wanted to play it. <v Speaker 1>That's not the way to play it. I'd rather get <v Speaker 1>it on steam Deck for you. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, all right, we. <v Speaker 1>Can move on from that, because I would literally talk <v Speaker 1>about it all day. Let's talk about unless anyone in <v Speaker 1>chat wants me to keep going, because. <v Speaker 2>I'm just seeing people wanting a dep pad in like <v Speaker 2>certain little things would have been nice. <v Speaker 1>It would have been what else is chat saying? Chat's <v Speaker 1>on it right now. Oh the price. <v Speaker 2>Oh yeah, the price. <v Speaker 1>So I think actually someone did leak the price and <v Speaker 1>or at least the rumor is four hundred dollars, which <v Speaker 1>I like that as well. I'm actually glad it's not cheaper, <v Speaker 1>which is an insane thing to say. But let me <v Speaker 1>explain my rationality here. <v Speaker 2>It's not going to be cheaped out on the intern I. <v Speaker 1>Actually have a video coming about this, Okay, but yes, <v Speaker 1>that is it. Yeah. So there's a couple of things here. <v Speaker 1>First off, at four hundred, that would still put it <v Speaker 1>as the most current gen console available, the most current <v Speaker 1>release console on the market, and it would still be <v Speaker 1>cheaper than the competition. Yeah, still be cheaper than the <v Speaker 1>Steam Deck, still be cheaper than the PlayStation and the Xbox, <v Speaker 1>so that alone is still a plus. Next, the Switch <v Speaker 1>kind of had to be three hundred because Nintendo didn't <v Speaker 1>have the trust of gamers back then, because after the <v Speaker 1>w U fiasco. Yeah, and even with the Switch being <v Speaker 1>as awesome as it is and how awesome we know <v Speaker 1>it is now, if it had came out with the <v Speaker 1>price tag of four hundred, a lot of people wouldn't <v Speaker 1>have been able to afford it or buy into it <v Speaker 1>or have the trust to buy it. So they intentionally <v Speaker 1>designed the switch to be in their eyes, profitable and <v Speaker 1>make sense at a three hundred dollars price tag, which <v Speaker 1>men at launch, its internals were already pretty outdated. Yeah, <v Speaker 1>and then we had to battle through eight years because <v Speaker 1>we had this affordable, cheap switch, which is great and <v Speaker 1>it got the job done. But now that we have <v Speaker 1>the trust, now that we know that we're going to <v Speaker 1>get all these great games from Nintendo and that third <v Speaker 1>party companies are looking at actually making games for it, <v Speaker 1>being able to give those companies and Nintendo more power <v Speaker 1>to work with to be able to us as gamers <v Speaker 1>invest in extra one hundred dollars into this console that launch, <v Speaker 1>so that the next eight years is filled with so <v Speaker 1>many better experiences than we would have got otherwise. For <v Speaker 1>Nintendo to even spend one hundred more dollars on the <v Speaker 1>internals to make it a more powerful console, I would <v Speaker 1>rather that one hundred times over. Yeah, Like we paid <v Speaker 1>an extra fifty dollars just for an OLED screen and <v Speaker 1>it made such a big change, It made a huge difference. <v Speaker 1>I would easily plan pay another fifty dollars just to <v Speaker 1>get a better CPU or a better GPU, or get <v Speaker 1>something that you know, like games like Hogwarts Legacy load <v Speaker 1>screens that took like five minutes. Had we got to <v Speaker 1>I know like it. It's it's I know it's a <v Speaker 1>little silly to be like, I'm glad it's not three hundred, <v Speaker 1>but prospectively, the experience for the next eight years is <v Speaker 1>going to be made so much better and that console <v Speaker 1>is going to be able to hang on so much <v Speaker 1>longer if we invested extra hundred dollars into it. And <v Speaker 1>maybe I'm wild for that, but that's how I feel. <v Speaker 1>King game says, don't play Tachia on Switch would I <v Speaker 1>actually started it the other night, and I know why <v Speaker 1>you're saying that it runs like crap. No, the game's <v Speaker 1>actually great. I'm so No. Yeah, I'm annoyed because it <v Speaker 1>looks so ugly and it runs so laggy. I'm going <v Speaker 1>to get it on Steam and try again. I would <v Speaker 1>thirteen hundred people watching, whoa A lot of people are <v Speaker 1>here right now and just two hundred and thirty likes. <v Speaker 1>Come on, guys, smash it. I mean I'd be down <v Speaker 1>analog triggers. Yeah, stuff like that would be nice, but <v Speaker 1>I'm not too worried. About all of that, all right? Yes, fo, <v Speaker 1>this is a fine investment for a console. This is <v Speaker 1>coming from Zachary for the next five to eight years. <v Speaker 1>Would you want to be stuck with it only being <v Speaker 1>able to buy a TV for three hundred? Yeah? No, <v Speaker 1>that's a good point. And four hundred again, really, isn't <v Speaker 1>that bad for a console that's gonna last us that long? <v Speaker 1>Again when you compare it to places like Xbox and <v Speaker 1>PlayStation or even other handheld market game consoles on the <v Speaker 1>market Steam Deck right now, No, but it's I actually <v Speaker 1>don't know, but I think it's like five five fifty <v Speaker 1>or something. <v Speaker 2>What was the one that was eight hundred dollars there. <v Speaker 1>Or like all of all of the rog allies and <v Speaker 1>the all of those ones are always eight hundred plus. <v Speaker 1>The reason for that, so explain that quickly is the <v Speaker 1>rug Ally and everything. They're just handheld PCs that companies <v Speaker 1>like Rugga making. But rog doesn't sell games, so their <v Speaker 1>only sale they can make is on the console, so <v Speaker 1>they can't afford to take a loss, whereas places like <v Speaker 1>steam Deck, like Steam Games, they sell games, switch they <v Speaker 1>have their own games, they sell games, so both those <v Speaker 1>companies they do take a loss on their console. For <v Speaker 1>three hundred dollars for a switch, probably every sale loses <v Speaker 1>Nintendo money. That's crazy. But then you got to buy Zelda, <v Speaker 1>and you got to buy Mario, and you got to <v Speaker 1>buy X, Y and C. So so those companies can <v Speaker 1>make their consoles cheaper. It's the same with PlayStation and Xbox. <v Speaker 1>Like a PlayStation even the PlayStation pro costing seven hundred dollars. <v Speaker 1>To actually build a PlayStation pro would probably cost over <v Speaker 1>a grand, but they take a loss because I know <v Speaker 1>you'll buy their game games. <v Speaker 2>Yeah that makes sense. <v Speaker 1>All right, that's what I mean. I can literally talk <v Speaker 1>about this all day. I can keep going and going, <v Speaker 1>but it's already almost been an hour, and I do <v Speaker 1>want to talk about power. <v Speaker 2>Well, let's discuss your little game that you very long time. <v Speaker 1>Oh lastly, this isn't technically about the switch, but a <v Speaker 1>lot of people noted that a lot of developers went <v Speaker 1>to Nintendo of America on like the sixteenth, and like <v Speaker 1>Limited Run Games went and a bunch of other developers, <v Speaker 1>and again I know what Like at this point this <v Speaker 1>information is almost like nothing compared to a switch leak. <v Speaker 1>But this is all the kind of stuff that hints <v Speaker 1>towards they're showing people something like because Nintendo keeps everything <v Speaker 1>so close to their chest until final moments, So if <v Speaker 1>they're risking it by showing people things and other companies, <v Speaker 1>it's not going to be much longer. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, all right, So I'd say within the month in <v Speaker 2>that case, if they're showing the developers already. <v Speaker 1>We're going to see the switch to officially from Nintendo <v Speaker 1>within a month, I feel, all right. Nintendo, with the <v Speaker 1>Pokemon Company, have filed a patent infringement lawsuit in the <v Speaker 1>Tokyo District Court against Pocket Pair Incorporated. The law suits. <v Speaker 1>The lawsuit seeks an injunction against infringement and compensation for <v Speaker 1>damages on the grounds that Power World, a game developed <v Speaker 1>and released by the defendant, infringes multiple patent rights. Nintendo <v Speaker 1>will continue to take necessary actions hold on, I got <v Speaker 1>it ooops boom boom boom. I get paranoid that I'm <v Speaker 1>playing sound, but I know that I'm not okayre Nintendo <v Speaker 1>will continue to take necessary actions against any infringement of <v Speaker 1>its intellectual property rights, including Nintendo brand itself, to protect <v Speaker 1>the intellect intellectual properties it has worked hard to establish <v Speaker 1>over the years. That's the cliff note there of the <v Speaker 1>law suit, I want to talk about that. I actually <v Speaker 1>want to bring up I did this on stream last night, <v Speaker 1>but I want to bring up my YouTube video because <v Speaker 1>I had comparison. You should direct comparison, which is really <v Speaker 1>should I do that? <v Speaker 2>Now? <v Speaker 1>Let me do that? Now pull it up? <v Speaker 2>Just make sure it's muted or whatever. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, I know up. Although I would be interested before <v Speaker 1>can you are you logged in? A logged in here? <v Speaker 1>I would be yeah, no, you give me locked in <v Speaker 1>the nontendo. I'm gonna while I look for this. I'm <v Speaker 1>actually going to set up a pole and ask people, Uh, <v Speaker 1>do you do you think nintender will win this lawsuit? <v Speaker 1>Should I do yes, no, and it'll get settled out <v Speaker 1>of court, or just yes and no? <v Speaker 2>How did you yes and no? <v Speaker 1>Or do they have grounds for a lawsuit? Do you <v Speaker 1>think nintender? Do you think Nintender? <v Speaker 2>Well that's a pretty easy poll. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, I do. Okay, over, we'll win this. No, you'll <v Speaker 1>be surprised actually, because a lot of people online seem <v Speaker 1>to think this was a misstep by Nintendo and that <v Speaker 1>they shouldn't have done this. Interesting, it is interesting. <v Speaker 2>I apparently they've responded to the lawsuit. So do you have. <v Speaker 1>They have responded, do you have? Yes? But I wanted <v Speaker 1>to show that after I showed the comparisons. <v Speaker 2>Oh my god, that one's the worst one, the one <v Speaker 2>in the thumbnail, the. <v Speaker 1>One of the sheep. Hold on, I'll go back there <v Speaker 1>can Yeah, I don't think that that's in the video, <v Speaker 1>but I don't know where. Yeah, all right, so this <v Speaker 1>is my video. You not even the powerld actually steal <v Speaker 1>from problem. I mean, I gotta be honest and hear <v Speaker 1>me out here. Chat. Let's let's have a conversation, because <v Speaker 1>I know a lot of people do think that Nintendo <v Speaker 1>shouldn't have done this and that Powerwell did not steal <v Speaker 1>from Pokemon. I really do feel like they did. They did. <v Speaker 1>I really do feel like the evidence is just right there, <v Speaker 1>like direct rips. Yeah. I know a lot of people <v Speaker 1>And this was in talking about how Nintendo stole from <v Speaker 1>Dragon Quest because they had a lot of similar monsters <v Speaker 1>as them, and while they were very comparable as far <v Speaker 1>as like oh you have a bat, you have a bat, <v Speaker 1>we have a bat, you have a dragon, we have. <v Speaker 2>A direct direct copy of their mind. <v Speaker 1>They did even look like similar as like themes, but <v Speaker 1>they didn't literally take assets like the eyes of the <v Speaker 1>sheep here. Yeah, there's like, actually I might have photoshopped <v Speaker 1>the sheep. <v Speaker 2>I don't. <v Speaker 1>I think I might have photoshop sheet for the thumbnail. <v Speaker 1>But there's other examples just like that in the actual video. <v Speaker 1>But I don't want to speak because one that was. <v Speaker 2>Like exactly the same. They just changed the color or something. <v Speaker 1>No, yeah, there's definitely some good examples in this video. <v Speaker 1>Let me just find let me just find it, let <v Speaker 1>me just find the moment. <v Speaker 2>Also, partially, they're probably mad because it looks better than <v Speaker 2>the new Pokemon games they've been shitting out. <v Speaker 1>You think Pokemon's mad, Yeah, I think shows I think <v Speaker 1>Pokemon's definitely mad. <v Speaker 2>I don't know if that's why I would be mad <v Speaker 2>if somebody made a better game than money. <v Speaker 1>So here's here's some comparisons before we get into closer ones. Yeah, <v Speaker 1>so you can see they both have a locario. <v Speaker 2>I think they can't really say anything about these ones. <v Speaker 2>I think these are different enough. They they unless they <v Speaker 2>stole the rigging, and like how they move, they look <v Speaker 2>different enough. <v Speaker 1>These ones, I will concede, look different enough. Yeah. My <v Speaker 1>only thing is the only thing is I'm actually not <v Speaker 1>sure if they are different enough. Because here's the thing. <v Speaker 1>You take one isolated one, yeah, out of context, and <v Speaker 1>you're like, oh, look they have they have a Liacario <v Speaker 1>Pokemon that has the same color scheme and same design <v Speaker 1>and is also based on the same Pokemon. Are the <v Speaker 1>same historical figure or whatever is he? Yes? <v Speaker 2>Is he based off of like Egyptian? <v Speaker 1>Yes, they're both based on a Nubis. Oh, I'm pretty sure. Okay, <v Speaker 1>I think it was a Here's the thing. One isolated <v Speaker 1>incident is fine. But when you can when you can <v Speaker 1>play a game that's a creature collecting game and almost <v Speaker 1>each of the creatures in the game represent and reflect <v Speaker 1>a Pokemon character, at what point are you just playing <v Speaker 1>a game that is alternate Pokemon Because other Pokemon creature <v Speaker 1>collector type games make whole new designs, whole new creatures <v Speaker 1>that look nothing like Pokemon. At what point do you <v Speaker 1>have this many that look the same that it is <v Speaker 1>just like like Wish Wish knockoff Pokemon. Yeah, you know, but. <v Speaker 2>Those are just some companies that do that. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, but not but who name one? <v Speaker 2>Well, like older games, I don't remember who specific. <v Speaker 1>There's there's so many creature collecting games that create their <v Speaker 1>own designs and they aim to be like a Pokemon game, <v Speaker 1>but they're but not all of their creatures represent a <v Speaker 1>Pokemon that you can name by looking at it. Yeah, <v Speaker 1>like if you can look at this and go that's <v Speaker 1>the Carrio, you can look at this and say that's Google. <v Speaker 2>That's the problem why you get to the point where <v Speaker 2>it's they're like, hold on a minute. <v Speaker 1>Like other creature collecting games, you could maybe go that <v Speaker 1>that kind of looks like this. So that kind of <v Speaker 1>looks like that, but not for every single one. <v Speaker 2>This is like a one for one almost. <v Speaker 1>This is almost like you don't even have to give <v Speaker 1>this to a Pokemon fan. You can give this to <v Speaker 1>someone who's like. <v Speaker 2>This is like one of these activity things really draw <v Speaker 2>a line. So the one that's the same guy, Yeah, <v Speaker 2>I like the little penguins. <v Speaker 1>I do like the little penguin. Again, though this is <v Speaker 1>this is a similar thing. There's no I would away <v Speaker 1>with this. <v Speaker 2>This is fine. <v Speaker 1>There's no straight up stolen assets here. However, again I <v Speaker 1>want to stress it's yet another piplop. It's another Pokemon, <v Speaker 1>it's another You can look at it and be like, <v Speaker 1>that's obviously piplo. <v Speaker 2>Yes, but if you look at Piplo like, that's just <v Speaker 2>a penguin. It's not a unique design. You know, this one, <v Speaker 2>I think. <v Speaker 1>You can get away. I disagree with that though, because <v Speaker 1>at that point, at that point, what is anything. <v Speaker 2>I'm just saying about, At that point. <v Speaker 1>How can anybody defend It's like animal crossing characters are <v Speaker 1>just people. You have another game with people, and you're <v Speaker 1>gonna achiev people and you're like, oh, but they're just people. <v Speaker 1>But they look exactly like animal crossing characters. But they're <v Speaker 1>just people. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, but this is this is but this is sometimes <v Speaker 2>are quite lazy, and I feel like you need to <v Speaker 2>admit that a little bit. <v Speaker 1>Pokemon penguins aren't blue about. <v Speaker 2>That, and penguins are sometimes blue. I just you know, <v Speaker 2>some of these penguins, some of these Pokemon just look <v Speaker 2>like animals, like some of them are just birds. <v Speaker 1>You know, personally, I disagree with you. <v Speaker 2>I think he's different enough. I think this one. <v Speaker 1>I think he's different enough. If this was an isolated <v Speaker 1>but when each of them you can look at them <v Speaker 1>and be like, that's pipl up, that's it's a. <v Speaker 2>One for one is the problem they shouldn't. <v Speaker 1>But also there are so many ways to design a pokemon. <v Speaker 1>You don't have to also make yours blue white and yellow. <v Speaker 1>You don't need to have the yellow feet, the yellow beak. <v Speaker 1>You don't need to have this little spiky design just <v Speaker 1>moved to his instead of above his nose. You don't <v Speaker 1>need to have. <v Speaker 2>I didn't even notice the spike was the nose. <v Speaker 1>You don't need to have the same oval blue eyes. <v Speaker 1>You don't need to have the same batman white mask <v Speaker 1>around the eyes as well. You don't need to have <v Speaker 1>the same blue overcoat that the other one has. Ye, <v Speaker 1>it's the same design anyway, we'll keep going. <v Speaker 2>Man, he stole his face on that. <v Speaker 1>I know. We have other examples here. We have Zebra <v Speaker 1>or Zebra whatever the hell it's called Zebra Strike, I <v Speaker 1>don't know, and their version is obviously colored swapped, but <v Speaker 1>it has the same Goku kind of slanted eyes, I <v Speaker 1>don't know what kind of eyes you call that, and <v Speaker 1>the same overall design in general. <v Speaker 2>That lightning bolt on his head is the same, like <v Speaker 2>it's the same shape as. <v Speaker 1>Again, it's just another like isolated. If this was the <v Speaker 1>only one, fine, But when every pal appears to be <v Speaker 1>a pokemon, you're kind of just creating your own Pokemon game. <v Speaker 1>This is where I start getting more they've actually stolen <v Speaker 1>because the other ones are not theft. Well, I think <v Speaker 1>there is a there is a lawsuit that it is, <v Speaker 1>but it's not straight up asset theft, whereas this is <v Speaker 1>it's the same face, it's the same mouth flipped upside down. <v Speaker 1>But on top of that, it's also to add insult <v Speaker 1>into injury on a similar style of creature, a big, fat, tired, <v Speaker 1>lazy creature. I mean, you could argue small as it <v Speaker 1>is probably based on a big bear or a big <v Speaker 1>cow or something kind of like that, whereas we just <v Speaker 1>straight up have a cow here. But you know, it's <v Speaker 1>same dimensions. You have this big, round, choppy head with <v Speaker 1>pointy ear type things, and then big body continuing on <v Speaker 1>to what I think is probably the worst one in <v Speaker 1>the whole thing. Oh no, because they've straight up just <v Speaker 1>taken the face. It just took face. They took Berserker's face. <v Speaker 1>But again, on top of that, to make it even <v Speaker 1>worse as sot injury and the insult whatever, it's on <v Speaker 1>a cat. <v Speaker 2>It's on a cat that looks like one of the <v Speaker 2>other cat Pokemon. There's a pink one that looks like, Yeah. <v Speaker 1>But they could have put it on literally any other Pokemon. <v Speaker 1>I would have noticed, you still would have noticed. But <v Speaker 1>they decided to put it on a big hairy cat. <v Speaker 1>Like it's the same mouth, the same amount of teeth, <v Speaker 1>the same yellow eyes, and the same white slits, and <v Speaker 1>even the same outline, the same black outline on all <v Speaker 1>of it. That is, in my opinion, that is, in <v Speaker 1>my opinion, straight up theft that. <v Speaker 2>The face is. Yeah, you've directly copied the face. <v Speaker 1>And also even putting it on a cat, even though <v Speaker 1>I know it's a different kind of looks like they <v Speaker 1>traced it. <v Speaker 2>Uh. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, it looks like they stole the asset. Yeah, it <v Speaker 1>looks like they somehow got the coat and stole the asset. <v Speaker 2>That one's crazy. <v Speaker 1>This one's crazy. But you know what makes this one <v Speaker 1>even worse. Pals in this game don't have They don't <v Speaker 1>all have weapons. Some of them have weapons. A few <v Speaker 1>of them actually have a weapon on their own. They <v Speaker 1>gave this pal, specifically the one that's a clone of <v Speaker 1>decide I a weapon. Do you want to guess what <v Speaker 1>weapon they decided to give this clone? I don't know, <v Speaker 1>worried They gave it a bow and arrow oh that feels, <v Speaker 1>which is the same weapon that the decided I actually uses. <v Speaker 1>So again, you'll you can point to this pal and <v Speaker 1>be like, that's the Pokemon. I like, yeah, there's there's <v Speaker 1>there's too many, there's too many, and it's like the <v Speaker 1>same design. You can't even argue this isn't the same design. <v Speaker 1>And then there was I talk about how they're not <v Speaker 1>all straight up like one for one clones, but some <v Speaker 1>of them take elements of one and they put it <v Speaker 1>or to and put it into another. <v Speaker 2>This one was my favorite. There was just the same, <v Speaker 2>just different. <v Speaker 1>This is my favorite part of the video. I'm going <v Speaker 1>to turn sound on for it actually, just because of <v Speaker 1>the joke I make here. Okay, I can't hear it. <v Speaker 1>I'll just say what it is. Essentially, cinder Race is <v Speaker 1>the name of the Pokemon, and Verdash is the name <v Speaker 1>of the pal. And I said, all they did here <v Speaker 1>is replace Race with Dash, which I said, is an <v Speaker 1>ironically fast way to end up in court. Yeah. Oh, <v Speaker 1>wasn't that right? Oh wasn't I telling the truth? And <v Speaker 1>then finally we have the shiny lux ray that was <v Speaker 1>in the trailer, but they decided they decided to remove <v Speaker 1>it from the game last minute because they thought they <v Speaker 1>would get sued. And then people data mind the game <v Speaker 1>and they found a I don't know what is what poke? <v Speaker 2>Is that a mewtube it? <v Speaker 1>I don't know what that's out of my Pokemon knowledge, but. <v Speaker 2>It looks I think it's me too, like mewtwo. Yeah, sorry, <v Speaker 2>oh that is It looks like something from dragon Ball. <v Speaker 1>But then in the in the game code, they found <v Speaker 1>the file of that Pokemon that that looks exactly like. <v Speaker 2>Oh, they're not winning. <v Speaker 1>I I know. I feel like this is a weird <v Speaker 1>battle to have because I feel like I'm bang in <v Speaker 1>my head. I made a video about it, so I <v Speaker 1>got a lot of comments about this, and I feel <v Speaker 1>like I'm banging my head against the wall when I <v Speaker 1>try and explain it. <v Speaker 2>It's a version. <v Speaker 1>Oh it's the white version. Okay. I feel like I'm <v Speaker 1>banging my head when I try and explain it because <v Speaker 1>I and I try to explain this on stream. But <v Speaker 1>you know how some people have face blindness and they <v Speaker 1>can't tell people apart, or they're like tone deaf and <v Speaker 1>they think they can hear music and they can't. That's me. <v Speaker 2>I know. <v Speaker 1>I feel like there's some phenomenon that's happening here when <v Speaker 1>people look at these POWs and the Pokemon equivalents and <v Speaker 1>they just don't see it. I because I think it's <v Speaker 1>so obvious and you can make a creature collecting it. <v Speaker 1>So people are coming out in defense of Power World <v Speaker 1>because they're like, this sets a bad president. If Nintendo <v Speaker 1>consue any indie game for making a creature collecting game. <v Speaker 2>It's not about the game itself, it's about the character <v Speaker 2>they stole that. <v Speaker 1>There are so many Pokemon clone games out there. Ten <v Speaker 1>ten is one that released recently. There's and ten ten. <v Speaker 1>Teen ten literally takes the old school Pokemon top down <v Speaker 1>format to a t Like you go to a professor, <v Speaker 1>you pick one of the three Pokemon. It's literally a <v Speaker 1>Pokemon clone never suit because their Pokemon designs are so different. <v Speaker 1>They're so different. But what makes this even worse, on <v Speaker 1>top of the fact that straight up, even what we <v Speaker 1>just looked at baseline, they've stolen assets and they've stolen <v Speaker 1>designs from Pokemon, what makes it worse is it's Pokemon <v Speaker 1>with guns. And for Nintendo, that's where the damages come <v Speaker 1>into play. Because Nintendo stress and they try so hard <v Speaker 1>to remain a family friendly image and Pokemon is the <v Speaker 1>world's largest franchise and they own a third part ownership <v Speaker 1>into it. And if they're their creatures are seen holding <v Speaker 1>guns that look that looks very bad on them, and <v Speaker 1>it can be confusing to people that are older. Maybe <v Speaker 1>they don't really understand the difference, but in general, it's <v Speaker 1>just a bad look. And you're creating your own version <v Speaker 1>of Pokemon and putting gun in their hands, and Nintendo <v Speaker 1>just doesn't like that. Now, Like, I really don't know <v Speaker 1>what anybody expected. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, it's like Disney. If you do like Mickey Mouse <v Speaker 2>holding a gun, they're gonna get you. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, it's just there actually is a game coming out <v Speaker 1>that looks like Mickey Mouse holding a gun. <v Speaker 2>But oh no, I look forward to the see. <v Speaker 1>Well, Mickey Mouse's World is free to use. <v Speaker 2>Now, right, No, Sein but Willie only. <v Speaker 1>Well here's Power's response, and I am curious what Chat's <v Speaker 1>thought on this is. Where are we at the poll? <v Speaker 1>Five and sixty eight and sixty four percent say yes, interesting. <v Speaker 2>It's kind of hard to beat the allegations at this point. <v Speaker 1>Oh, we're not beating these allegations. West grew regarding the lawsuit. <v Speaker 1>This is from Power World yesterday, a lawsuit was filed <v Speaker 1>against our company for patent infringement. We've noticed, we received <v Speaker 1>notice of this lawsuit and will begin the appropriate legal <v Speaker 1>proceedings and investigations into the claims of the patent infringement. <v Speaker 1>At this moment, we are unaware of specific patterns we <v Speaker 1>are acute of. And this is why I wanted to <v Speaker 1>read this second. I know, but people defend it, and <v Speaker 1>I honestly, I feel like, even in the comment section <v Speaker 1>of this video, I'm gonna get roasted, but I can't <v Speaker 1>not see it. Come on, sir, that we're incused of <v Speaker 1>infringing upon and we have not been notified of such details. <v Speaker 1>I'll say too as well that while they never said <v Speaker 1>we have Pokemon with guns, the online general marketing that <v Speaker 1>was derived by consumers was, oh, this game's Pokemon with guns, <v Speaker 1>and they never once shut it down and were like, hey, <v Speaker 1>we're not associated with Pokemon at all. Please don't say <v Speaker 1>that they. <v Speaker 2>Loved that, yeah, because that's more. <v Speaker 1>That's how they got number one on Steam because they <v Speaker 1>were Pokemon with guns. This wasn't happening otherwise. <v Speaker 2>Now, like you. <v Speaker 1>Could have made any creature you could have made. If <v Speaker 1>your creatures looked like anything other than Pokemon, and they <v Speaker 1>had guns. Maybe there would be some interest there, but <v Speaker 1>not nearly as much. Yeah, they relied on that marketing <v Speaker 1>to make money. Uh. Pocket Pair is a small indie <v Speaker 1>game game company based in Tokyo. Algol as a company <v Speaker 1>has always been to create fun games, will continue to <v Speaker 1>pursue this. Yeah, they're talking about their amazing success, which <v Speaker 1>I am happy for them that they had great success. <v Speaker 1>It's just. <v Speaker 2>If your character designs were different enough, this wouldn't have <v Speaker 2>even come up. Because the game is good, The. <v Speaker 1>Game is fun, and the thing is, the game is <v Speaker 1>so different to Pokemon games. They give you so much <v Speaker 1>that Pokemon doesn't. And that's why I loved it, and <v Speaker 1>that I promise and guarantee you. That's not why they're <v Speaker 1>being sued, Like Nintendo is not suing them because of <v Speaker 1>how you play the game. It's the fact that they're <v Speaker 1>they're suing them for intellectual copyright infringement. Yeah, which is <v Speaker 1>a completely different thing because like I could, I could, <v Speaker 1>I can't, but I could set out tomorrow and make <v Speaker 1>a a two D two D three D platformer where <v Speaker 1>you shoots bubbles at at cows and then and collect <v Speaker 1>their milk to drink. But if my characters looked exactly <v Speaker 1>like Joel and Ellie from Last of Us down to <v Speaker 1>the at the exact models and even sounded the same, <v Speaker 1>I would be suited in a second. It doesn't matter <v Speaker 1>the game's different characters. Yeah, we apologize to our fans <v Speaker 1>and supporters for any worry or discomfort that this has caused. <v Speaker 1>As always, thank you for your continued support of Power <v Speaker 1>Oled and Pocket Pair. I see avenues where this gets <v Speaker 1>settled out of court. Yeah, but if it gets settled <v Speaker 1>out of court, Nintendo will still have to be happy <v Speaker 1>with that settlement, which will which will mean they would <v Speaker 1>have to stop selling the game or remove any characters <v Speaker 1>that resemble Pokemon characters. That's going to be all the characters, <v Speaker 1>not all, but most, if not like half. I'd be <v Speaker 1>interested in actually going through the full library and yeah, <v Speaker 1>and removing any that I feel don't look like a Pokemon, <v Speaker 1>but a good chunk of them would have to get <v Speaker 1>removed for sure. A lot of the main ones too, <v Speaker 1>I mean, because even some of the main ones used <v Speaker 1>in the main marketing were all Pokemon clones. I haven't <v Speaker 1>been looking at chat and I'm interested to see what <v Speaker 1>they think about it in a second here. So I <v Speaker 1>just googled pow World, and this yellow guy was one <v Speaker 1>of the main ones. And I don't know who we <v Speaker 1>want to argue he looks like but I think the <v Speaker 1>color scheme is like electro Buzz or something. <v Speaker 2>Right, Yeah, somebody was talking about the elector Buzz one, so. <v Speaker 1>He's one of the main ones they marketed. This little <v Speaker 1>cat looks a lot like God, I can't remember any <v Speaker 1>of these Pokemon names, but I mean, I don't know <v Speaker 1>if we want to say that looks like a palm <v Speaker 1>or not. That's just a monkey. That honestly is just <v Speaker 1>a monkey. I'd say that's probably fine. I don't know. <v Speaker 1>I don't have to tell you wats the that's literally just <v Speaker 1>got a Pokemon in it. Oh, here we go comparison <v Speaker 1>for you there. <v Speaker 2>I mean, he's I don't know, it's pretty. That one <v Speaker 2>looks more like a cat. <v Speaker 1>Be honest, I prefer the. <v Speaker 2>No. <v Speaker 1>I like Lucaria more than that one, but I do <v Speaker 1>like I like the new electro buzz in powered a <v Speaker 1>lot more. It actually looks pretty sick. I wonder if <v Speaker 1>there's like a all all pal pal world verse Pokemon. <v Speaker 1>I wonder if anyone's made like a thing. Oh yeah, <v Speaker 1>I forgot about the vixen. What's her name? Oh I <v Speaker 1>don't know, because she was similar. And then they both <v Speaker 1>had this Lakai Lakai thorpe. They both had this tangler evolution. Sorry, <v Speaker 1>I'm so bad at Pokemon names. Yeah, both had the sheep, <v Speaker 1>both had I would be really interested to know how <v Speaker 1>many were actually like pretty pretty one for one comparable. <v Speaker 1>I mean this one feels like shameless. No, yeah, that's <v Speaker 1>pretty bad. So I'm interesting to see what what definitely <v Speaker 1>what chat thinks. But also how. <v Speaker 2>This Oh there's the yeah you get away with that one. <v Speaker 1>I feel like a broken record. Yes, this one you <v Speaker 1>can get away with. But it's tougher. It's definitely tougher. <v Speaker 1>This is essentially just a vulpics that they've given a <v Speaker 1>charm men to Tale two. Other than that, it is <v Speaker 1>literally I mean like eye shape, no shape, mouth shaped <v Speaker 1>like little like tough on the belly. I mean even <v Speaker 1>like the way it's standing. Look at the way it's drawn. <v Speaker 1>Oh shoot, I mean that's like the same design though, <v Speaker 1>I mean you're an artist. Yeah, they stole the pose. <v Speaker 1>They stole the pose, they stole like the body shape. <v Speaker 2>I mean say that enough of the rest is different, <v Speaker 2>but the body shape is exactly the same. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, I mean there's just I feel like there's so <v Speaker 1>many that's exactly the same. So I my official stance <v Speaker 1>on this is is, uh, I really do feel like <v Speaker 1>Power World. This is my favorite comment. What the yellow <v Speaker 1>pal who is Power's antagonists? Actually Mustard? He's pretty good. <v Speaker 1>That's pretty funny. That's from that's Chat of the day, <v Speaker 1>right there, Director of rec I'll give you Chat of <v Speaker 1>the day. Hit me up, I'll give you the shop cut. <v Speaker 1>My official stance on this is I've set this from <v Speaker 1>the start. They borrowed way too many designs from Pokemon. <v Speaker 1>In some situations, they straight up literally did take assets <v Speaker 1>from Pokemon, whether it was mouth shape, eye shape, or <v Speaker 1>body shape. They're too many that are too similar to Pokemon. <v Speaker 1>I get that the game is different, but I do <v Speaker 1>not blame Nintendo at all, especially with the added sult <v Speaker 1>in the wound that they gave them guns, because it's <v Speaker 1>it's a little too much. It's a little too much <v Speaker 1>for Nintendo to ignore. And I understand that they're suing <v Speaker 1>an indie company, and like I I'm sorry about that, <v Speaker 1>but like at what point is it okay to sue <v Speaker 1>someone from stealing from you when, especially when that indie <v Speaker 1>company just made probably over a million, if not more <v Speaker 1>like a bag, Like I can't imagine they made a <v Speaker 1>lot of money, So they might they might be indie, yeah, <v Speaker 1>but it's not like they're coming after an indie company <v Speaker 1>that you know, has sold ten copies on Steam. They're <v Speaker 1>coming after an indie company that that has shown the world. Hey, <v Speaker 1>if you take Pokemon designs and you do something insane <v Speaker 1>with them, like give them guns, you can be the <v Speaker 1>number one seller on Steam. And that's what Nintendo was like, <v Speaker 1>we can't have that happen, Like, people can't just steal <v Speaker 1>us stuff off and make a ton of money like that. <v Speaker 1>And if they don't make an example out of someone, <v Speaker 1>I think it's just going to keep happening. <v Speaker 2>It's making an example out of someone, and because it <v Speaker 2>was successful, they. <v Speaker 1>Can now if now, if these designs didn't look anything <v Speaker 1>like Pokemon at all and people still called it Pokemon <v Speaker 1>with guns and Nintendo came after them, I'd be a <v Speaker 1>little bit more to be like, well, you don't own <v Speaker 1>creature collecting, you know, like you can't sue them for that, <v Speaker 1>but I feel like they have enough. I honestly feel <v Speaker 1>like they have enough. Yeah, I feel like I'm defending <v Speaker 1>myself because I people the comments on this podcast can <v Speaker 1>do my head in sometimes. As much as I love <v Speaker 1>all of you, but I've legitimately seen people online defending <v Speaker 1>Pow World and thinking that this is insane, and I <v Speaker 1>just don't think it's insane. I think it makes sense. <v Speaker 2>I think because it was so successful, they have to <v Speaker 2>set an example and go, you can't steal our designs <v Speaker 2>and you can't give them guns. That's not what the <v Speaker 2>company wants. So even if they said a out of court, <v Speaker 2>it's the case is a big deal. Right now, people <v Speaker 2>are talking about it, and that's what you want. <v Speaker 1>I agree, So I mean this a lot will scare <v Speaker 1>people off. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, exactly, which is even if Disney did the same ship. <v Speaker 1>Yeah. Someone in chat said, and this is a good point. <v Speaker 1>This is from Tom, and I thought about this, but honestly, <v Speaker 1>I just wanted to attack this from a from an <v Speaker 1>intellectual property standpoint of the characters, because I even gave <v Speaker 1>the gameplay a pass. But if you do really want <v Speaker 1>to look at the gameplay, you do you do use. <v Speaker 2>Poke bulls somebody said that in the chat. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, they call them pal bowls, but I think they <v Speaker 1>call them do they call them? I think they are <v Speaker 1>called bulls. I'm not sure I could be. I could <v Speaker 1>be making it. <v Speaker 2>They can sue them. <v Speaker 1>That might have been my brain just calling. <v Speaker 2>Them for that game mechanic alone. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, that game mechanic could be included there. Pretty damn. <v Speaker 1>I didn't want to go into this avenue just because <v Speaker 1>I feel like there's enough of a case without it. <v Speaker 1>But there are definitely elements of the gameplay that could <v Speaker 1>be included in the lawsuit, including creating pokey balls essentially <v Speaker 1>and throwing them at Pokemon once once they're weak enough, <v Speaker 1>throwing poka bulls at them, and then having like a <v Speaker 1>random chance of them breaking out and blah blah blah. <v Speaker 2>So camp in that game, all of. <v Speaker 1>That stuff, I'll give a pass because it's not like <v Speaker 1>Nintendo owns. <v Speaker 2>Camping that you're adding on too. <v Speaker 1>I know, but I'm sure they've they've intellectually copyright claimed <v Speaker 1>and have ownership of certain catching. <v Speaker 2>Mechanics and pokeable mechanic. <v Speaker 1>Is I doubt that they've they've trademarked camping. <v Speaker 2>No, but I'm saying, like the elements that they've copied. <v Speaker 1>The camping. It's also very different. <v Speaker 2>I mean, I'm saying like, at a certain point, you go, <v Speaker 2>you've copied our designs, You've copied all these mechanics. The <v Speaker 2>ball is like the end all. <v Speaker 1>Really the bull the ball doesn't help. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, all kind. <v Speaker 1>Of nails the coffin, to be honest, but Palsphere is <v Speaker 1>what it's called housephere, which is literally just pokey ball <v Speaker 1>ball pal bawl, housephere pal round. <v Speaker 2>Even their company needs pocket Pal. <v Speaker 1>I know at that in my video. I said that <v Speaker 1>in my video that the Japanese name for Pokemon is <v Speaker 1>pocket monsters. That's how the company started. Pocket Pal, right, <v Speaker 1>pocket monsters, pocket Pal, the powers are the monsters. Pocket <v Speaker 1>Pal is pocket monsters. They even took the name. I really, <v Speaker 1>I'm sorry. I really can't get behind anybody that thinks <v Speaker 1>that there's not a case here or that they didn't <v Speaker 1>steal and that wasn't the intention from the start. <v Speaker 2>I know it's kind of a serious situation, but I <v Speaker 2>do think it's really funny. And they're like, we have <v Speaker 2>no idea why we're being I know, I know the specifics. <v Speaker 1>I'm so glad you're with me on this. <v Speaker 2>It's news to us. <v Speaker 1>It's just like you were going a different direction at <v Speaker 1>the start of this conversation. So I'm glad that you're <v Speaker 1>here with me. But I do love the way you <v Speaker 1>love it. They they typed it like they went home. <v Speaker 1>We're gonna have to look into this. What are you <v Speaker 1>what are you referring to. <v Speaker 2>What I just made? <v Speaker 1>A game? Video game? Yeah, that is definitely how as <v Speaker 1>at this moment, we are unaware of the specific patterns <v Speaker 1>we are accused of infringing upon just Pokemon. I think <v Speaker 1>that is the pattern just Pokemon. I think that's what <v Speaker 1>you're it's what you're accused of. <v Speaker 2>It's yeah, it's it's it's going to be an interesting. <v Speaker 1>It's just a pr statement. Well it obviously, of course <v Speaker 1>it is. They know. It's just that they have. <v Speaker 2>To arguably more successful than a lot of the recent <v Speaker 2>Pokemon games that came out. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, that's that's embarrassing. That's another Yeah, that's embarrassing. I mean, <v Speaker 1>that's Nintendo's fault. <v Speaker 2>It is. <v Speaker 1>But at the same time, that is not that. <v Speaker 2>You imagine somebody copies your ship and they do that <v Speaker 2>doesn't better. <v Speaker 1>I would be interested to see sales figures between the <v Speaker 1>two games and how much each of them made. <v Speaker 2>There's a lot of reasons for them to be upset, <v Speaker 2>but that's a big one. <v Speaker 1>M Let me see here what they're being sued on. Patents, <v Speaker 1>so gain mechanics, not copyright design? So the ball the <v Speaker 1>suit on patent? Wait, no, but the patent their character? <v Speaker 1>But it is the patent? <v Speaker 2>Is is that a patterner? Is that intellectual property the characters? <v Speaker 2>Do they patent? That would be a lot of patents <v Speaker 2>to have. <v Speaker 1>If they're suing them and not suing them for the designs, Well, <v Speaker 1>I don't understand what we're doing here. <v Speaker 2>I don't know if they have grounds to sue them <v Speaker 2>for the designs. There may be some shitty little loophole <v Speaker 2>where they can't. But the ball, maybe they can see <v Speaker 2>about the ball. <v Speaker 1>Let me let me read what it says. Did they <v Speaker 1>say the specifics? No, But it just says file to <v Speaker 1>patent infringement lawsuit. You can own a patent for designs. <v Speaker 2>But do they own them for Do you know how <v Speaker 2>many pokemon they'd have to patent. <v Speaker 1>Infringes multiple patent rights? <v Speaker 2>Yeah? <v Speaker 1>But that those those designs are definitely patent, are they? <v Speaker 1>I don't I don't think this. I don't personally. Let <v Speaker 1>me cut personally. I don't think this says what they're <v Speaker 1>doing over well, No, it could. It could be the designs. <v Speaker 1>It could be the gameplay mechanics, it could be both. <v Speaker 1>But I don't think we can roll out it's not <v Speaker 1>the designs because it says multiple patent infringements. <v Speaker 2>Characters are IP. Yeah, okay in all actual problem. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, but you can own a patent for those characters, <v Speaker 1>can you not? <v Speaker 2>I don't know. Because there's so many of them. <v Speaker 1>I would be I understand what you guys are saying <v Speaker 1>and how this is worded. I would be shocked to <v Speaker 1>my core if a large part of this lawsuit isn't <v Speaker 1>focused on, if not primarily, but even in part, how <v Speaker 1>similar they look to Pokemon, and how damaging that is <v Speaker 1>to Nintendo's pattern. <v Speaker 2>It can be multiple lawsuits too, and this is just <v Speaker 2>the one. <v Speaker 1>They could be multiple. This could just be the first. <v Speaker 2>A lot of times they stacked they when they go <v Speaker 2>to court, they're like and another. <v Speaker 1>Thing this, you know Nintendo didn't invent spherical objects, said Ryan, No. <v Speaker 2>But no, not throwing them at an animal and catching it. <v Speaker 1>That's kind of there. I think that they were being <v Speaker 1>I know it's funny. Well in that case, the last <v Speaker 1>thing I'll say is, if it's not about the characters, <v Speaker 1>which I still think it is, it could really only <v Speaker 1>be the catching mechanic that they're sewing over, which is <v Speaker 1>is I think I think can't be only because is <v Speaker 1>Powell really the only the only game that's ever come out, <v Speaker 1>at least half successfully, that had captured mechanics like that? <v Speaker 1>Did you all? Because in ten ten, for example, you <v Speaker 1>have cords that you throw at the Pokemon and then <v Speaker 1>they get caught in the card. Now, at what point <v Speaker 1>are we pulling hands and being like cord slash bowl. <v Speaker 2>It's mechanics they can't but it's not similar enough. <v Speaker 1>If that's the only thing that's suing over. <v Speaker 2>That, it's going to be maybe that's the only thing <v Speaker 2>they can do over. I don't know. We'll find out <v Speaker 2>when again. <v Speaker 1>Stop playing with my balls. Copyright designs are easier to <v Speaker 1>do than patent designs. What does that mean is the <v Speaker 1>audio issue on my end? I don't know. Is there <v Speaker 1>an audio issue? They didn't patent over a thousand characters. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, that's what I'm saying. That's a lot aso. <v Speaker 1>Why not? <v Speaker 2>What do you mean why not? That's a lot of paperwork. <v Speaker 1>What do you think they don't have time? <v Speaker 2>I don't know. <v Speaker 1>You think in that giant. <v Speaker 2>Working on game mechanics, so they should be working. <v Speaker 1>On something largest franchise. Do you think they don't specifically <v Speaker 1>own Pikachu in everything as element? <v Speaker 2>I guarantee you the first is copyrighted. <v Speaker 1>That's insane of you to say that. <v Speaker 2>Why think that they would. <v Speaker 1>Only be bothered to copyright the individual Pokemon to begin with? <v Speaker 1>And then what they got they got to look. <v Speaker 2>At their games? What do you mean they got lazy? <v Speaker 1>Question? They control They have a plushy for every single Pokemon. <v Speaker 1>To even do that, they have to file a patent <v Speaker 1>right for the Pokemon to make the let alone every <v Speaker 1>uh every other like third party collaboration that makes like <v Speaker 1>soap with Pokemon on it. <v Speaker 2>I certainly hope they have the rights to their characters <v Speaker 2>makes otherwise. <v Speaker 1>They need to have the design for the Pokemon on <v Speaker 1>the Pokemon cod that. There's no way that a thousand <v Speaker 1>is too many for the world's largest franchise to be. <v Speaker 2>I don't know how many Pokemon there are, honest. <v Speaker 1>As long as people don't recreate Pikachu that's fine. But <v Speaker 1>if they want to recreate like Wulu, they can go <v Speaker 1>for it. That's I don't know, in your insane chats insane, <v Speaker 1>that's insane. I guarantee you every. <v Speaker 2>Single I'm not saying they don't. I'm just saying. <v Speaker 1>Every single Pokemon. <v Speaker 2>I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't. <v Speaker 1>It's one hund to like every your. <v Speaker 2>Mic is off. They're saying, did you touch something. <v Speaker 1>And every color? Yeah, my mic? I think I hit <v Speaker 1>my mic? <v Speaker 2>Okay, fix the No, I. <v Speaker 1>Don't think I can. Maybe I did. I don't know. <v Speaker 1>Do you fix that? <v Speaker 2>Ever? <v Speaker 1>Since I slammed this mic one day? <v Speaker 2>Uh, your mic is cutting out? It's broken. That's probably <v Speaker 2>a sign to get out of him, is it? <v Speaker 1>Okay? I apologize, hold on, let me try and fix <v Speaker 1>it real h give it a go. You talked to <v Speaker 1>him for a second, but. <v Speaker 2>You think chat? Did they copyright everybody? Did they remember? <v Speaker 2>Did they forget? <v Speaker 1>Hello? Did you guys at least hear me on Kim's mic? <v Speaker 1>I still think it's not really working. <v Speaker 2>No, they're saying it sounds worse. Yeah. <v Speaker 1>I turned it off for a minute and then I <v Speaker 1>was only coming through your mind. <v Speaker 2>Smack it again, Maybe you'll fix it? <v Speaker 1>What happened to it? Ever since I knocked it? It's <v Speaker 1>been a pain. <v Speaker 2>Well here just oh, I can't move it? Testing well, <v Speaker 2>lean over to this one, lean over all? <v Speaker 1>Right, sorry about that, I mean Kim's mic. Now my <v Speaker 1>mic is just not going to work. I think it's <v Speaker 1>probably time to go out of here anyway. I also <v Speaker 1>want to stress that UH can when I am married <v Speaker 1>and I lost because I leaned into like getting argumentatively <v Speaker 1>goofy with you. You know why a lot of these <v Speaker 1>people aren't married. I swear to God, Haim and I <v Speaker 1>will have little tiny exchanges for like a minute or <v Speaker 1>maybe even like half a second in an episode, and <v Speaker 1>then every comment will be like, oh my god, they <v Speaker 1>hate each other. Oh my god, what was so rude? <v Speaker 2>I think it's. <v Speaker 1>Angry eyebrows we need. I don't know, I don't know <v Speaker 1>what it is. I'm golfin and gaffin. We're having a <v Speaker 1>good time. I also could completely be wrong, and maybe <v Speaker 1>they haven't patented every single pokemon. It's fine, I'm wrong <v Speaker 1>all the time, but that would be insane if they <v Speaker 1>don't own the right to every individual pokemon and they've <v Speaker 1>just like not bothered because there's too many. <v Speaker 2>That's what I'm saying. <v Speaker 1>Do you know how long it takes a design one <v Speaker 1>longer than it takes to file a pattern? <v Speaker 2>The reason they're just not even trying. <v Speaker 1>They have lawyers for that. They have, like, there's thousands <v Speaker 1>of people that work for these companies. All right, anyway, keys, <v Speaker 1>we love all you guys so much. At big, big, <v Speaker 1>big thank you to Kim for actually making this episode awesome. <v Speaker 1>You did so good. You really really really helped me. <v Speaker 1>Thank you so much.
