Speaker 1: Thank you so much everyone who came to our live show. That was a really fun night. I'll say, what a blast. There were a lot of people there, guys, you guys, there were so many people. I was acting it well. We all walked on the stage and kind of looked up or like, oh, we're doing a show like this is it was theater. Yeah, it was a big theater, but then it was also just filled and man, the love was palpable. Yeah, it was so fun to just feel like we all were part of this community. It was it was really intense, like it was emotional and beautiful and fun. When we make it what thirty seconds without you crying, Danielle was, I don't know long, It is not that long. I think I walked out and immediately started to crying. It was pretty awesome, And thank you also for being our first live audience. Like you know, we overall we're really happy with the way it went, but of course we are critical of ourselves and there were some bumps and some some bruises, and uh, we're trying to put together what exactly we wanted to look and feel like moving forward. But we're so appreciative of all of you. Guys who were there, and the feedback that you've given us and the things you loved. I mean, writer, hands down your opening, which I don't want to ruin for people who haven't you know, been to the live show. But my goodness, did you ever start us off with a bang? And then I feel like really will and I let you down for the rest of the war because you really started written part that. I think that and then the Blue Angels fly over in the middle. Those two we're by far the coolest parts of the show. That was totally spontaneous, that was gonna happen. When we saw Danielle in half that didn't go as well, and that was weird. The Magic Country, I just don't know. We're just stick with coin tricks. It was very weird. And by the way, David Copperfield, I thought charged just way too much to show up in the middle of the show. Yeah. Crazy. Well, these are some things you missed if you weren't at our Lives show. So I do have good news for you though, if you missed our live show. We have new merch, new show merch. How you say it, it is new show merch? Is that right? No? I don't know Uh. It debuted at our live show and alcohone, but now it is available for all of you. It is a Pod Meets World was my idea shirt and it is so cute. It's in baby blue. Uh. There were only a total of four hundred made, so you know, get yours while you can. They go from extra small all the way to three XL and you can get it on Pod meets World show dot com. And thank you for coming up with the idea for the podcast. Everybody, what would we do without you? I don't know what we do. I don't know what we do. Danielle. You finished your movie. I finished my movie. It was so hard and it was so much work, and like you said, I mean, this will be no surprise, but it was everything exactly what you told me it was going to be. It was, you know, Danielle, you said you are there are going to be days where you are very far behind and you feel like there's no way we're going to finish, and then out of nowhere, you'll have a day where suddenly you're very ahead and everything's on track, and you don't really know how that happens. And that is exactly what happened on the first day we did, we had to wrap and we were behind. We had like two pages we didn't get and it got bumped to the next day. And then that next day somehow we ended up making up those two pages and we were you know, everything was fine. And then the next day you follow a little bit more behind than you have is like that pop up and and um, it was. It was really exhausting emotionally physically. UM. But I will say that we had, for the most part, a truly incredible crew who were all people that really wanted to be there. Um. It is very important to me that the sets that I work on, everyone feels respected and appreciated, and that even though it's really freaking hard and we're all in this, you know, in the trenches together, UM, you at least feel valued. And so I try to keep you know, the energy very calm and I want everyone to know that there, you know, even when there are mistakes. Because also when you're doing these kinds of low budget movies and people aren't getting paid truthfully what they're worth, um, you get very green people. And for a lot of people on our crew, it was their first ever movie. Yeah, it was my first movie. It was our script E. It was Script Dialogue's first movie. We had people in g and E who had never worked on a future film before. And um, I mean it's terrifying when you started out. But yeah, it is terrifying. And you know that makes things go a little slow sometimes because everyone and then also it means that there are some mistakes because there isn't a ton of experience necessarily, and you know, there were times we realized halfway through somebody was missing their purse, or somebody was in the wrong wardrobe or you know you've already yes, and so kind of kind of using multiple cameras, right, we did. We ended up using two cameras and that was not the end. That wasn't the intention when we first started, but we realized we were really able to get very valuable stuff with the second camera. Will came by to visit. Trina McGhee is one of the stars of the movie. It was so much fun to have her and to work with her again. And she she she brought to life this she's the mother of one of the of the lead actress and she was just it was so much fun to be with her. Um, and so Will got to come by and then it really it made me want to do it again. Every time I do that, every time I visit somewhere or something like that, it just make you miss it. It's and I didn't never when I was doing it. You kind of start taking it for granted after a while. And then it's been so many years. I mean, I haven't been on a movie so the last movie I did with two thousand six, So you know, I love being on set. I don't like being on set without something to do, you know, like that. So you know, even visiting a set, I kind of get like a little like, why am I here stuck on the sideline? But yeah, like I've always wished that, like I you know, I mean I still could, I guess, like just take on a crew job, you know, But I mean, I'm so what I would love to do. I would love to be a part of camera department. I would love to be a first A C. I just do not have the eye or the technical skill. I can't do it. But that would be my favorite job because when you're part of the camera department, you're with the actors, You're right in the heart of the action, really up close. I just think that's you're helping with the look of the film, and so it ends. It can be very creative because you have to engage, you know, if if the cameras moving, the whole department has to be like sort of doing a dance with and setting the shots. And if anybody is like you know, if you have somebody who can't pull focus in that situation, it will ruin the entire thing. Especially back in the day when you shot on film you wouldn't even know it until afterwards. Um yeah, I would always love to be a part of a camera department. But um yeah, man, I love I love film. I'm so happy for I have. I have a new goal. My new goal is I want to be in a lifetime movie. Right so much the world I am throwing it out into the world. I think that would be one of those fun suggest Hallmark. Okay, yeah, let's like a Christmas movie. That'd be fun too, Like, I think that would be great. They do other stuff than Christmas, but Hallmark is. One of the things I really like about Hallmark movies is that they are really branching away from just romantic relationship storylines. They're really like doing more and more like things about siblings or things about. Okay, so the sibling story with you too. If we can't sell it a sitcom with a multi camera, we will take it to Hallmark and make it take it time. We'll do a Hallmark movie. I saw a Mark movie version with the two of you planned siblings, and I'll direct it down. I'm also I never do this, but I'm going to. At the very very start of our show, here are wonderful executive user Jensen carp sent me an email from the group of emails we get and he's like, you have to read this one in the air because it makes me sound awesome. Okay, let's start this way we're doing to thank you. Let's hold on. Let's welcome everybody to Pod Meets World. As I read this email, it says, just showed my daughter a picture of Leonardo DiCaprio from Titanic Days and she said he kind of looks like Corey's older brother. You're welcome, will love Tess and lil Age six. Oh yeah, my friend, that's right. Leonardo Caprio from Titanic. That's all I gotta say. I can leave now. By the way, I'm gonna just walk out. I actually think you are more attractive than Leonardo DiCaprio. Wow. Yeah, I mean, don't get me wrong, Leo. In the nineties I had a humongous crush on you, absolutely, but you have aged beautifully and you are so handsome. I think you're selling yourself the tiniest bit short by by thinking it's very sweet. Yeah, I think I think you could do better than Leo, and so does test age things. Thank you very much. There's your ego boost for man. I'll say I'm turning red here, which I according to my twenty three and me, I am unlikely to blush. So I'm amazed that I am. This is great. Well, I we are doing another Q and A episode because, for one thing, we had so many questions that we didn't get to last time, and truthfully, we get thousands of questions in our email every month, and some of the things you guys ask are just things that will come up in our recaps, so we're not gonna, you know, answer those during a Q and A episode Because there are things like about season three or season four, and we will get to them when when they come up. But others are things that we think, yeah, this might as well be a good time to talk about it. I will say that the number one question that came out of our last Q and A episode was Danielle, what happened with the catfish guy who showed up at your school? Yes, the story to the end, we just moved on to something else. I was like, and then he showed up in my school anyway, and then we just like moved on to something else, and everyone was so I will finish that story. So, yes, the guy showed up at my school, and the school he said that he had been sent by my family and was there to pick me up. And the school knew right away that something was wrong because I wasn't at school that week. I was on set on Boy Meat's World, and they knew that anybody who was there to pick me up would know my work schedule and that wouldn't be there, so they knew something was up. So they called my parents and they said, this guy has been you know, this guy showed up and is here to pick you up. And we then started like an investigation. We went to the police. The police looked up the address where he had been sending me mail. Turns out it was a p O box. It wasn't a home address, so we didn't know where he lived, but they were able to figure out his work address, and a police officer showed up at his work with like, I don't know what the version of a cease and desist is, but it was basically, if you ever contact this person again, we're gonna not quite a restraining order exactly, not quite a restraining order, but you were and we're putting like it's here at work. It was kind of a big deal. Um, and yeah, And then I didn't hear from him again for a while, and then years later I started getting yeah, and then his name's Jensen Gard. Years later I started getting kind of odd fan letters again, and my mom's like spidy sense just started tayling, and she was like, I just, for some reason have a feeling this is the same guy. He had switched up his technique or his tactic. He wasn't writing to me as a little girl anymore, but he Um. I think he was saying he was like a prince of somewhere and that he wanted he wanted me to be his princess. And I just remember my mom reading one of the letters and going, I don't know, I think we should say, let's see the ring. Maybe we should at least contemplate it. Um. But I think she just kind of like sense that maybe it was him. But then, you know, I think I sent him a whole lot of money to help him get out of prison, so I apparently I saved I helped save him. You know, that can be really scary. It can be really scary with that. You guys remember the story about the weird fan letters that I started getting that I didn't find out about til years later. Oh didn't, so Sherman told me when we were when I was in my twenties, because they ended up keeping it from a at the time. But they started I started getting the letters, and Disney like intercepted them and brought them to the producer's attention. And there was a series of letters where this guy was describing people's daily lives, like telling you know, in the letter, he was like, so, dear writer, this person wakes up at this address this time, goes to this word. And what they realized was that this they wanted me to kill them. This guy was like asking me to become like a hit man for him and was like listing out people's daily schedules in order for me to kill them. It was so where think you were going to find the time? I don't know, and me like why did why? What was you know? And I think the writers at the time they were like, there's something about Sean Hunter as this sort of like sort of troubled outsider that this guy thought maybe like he or me, I would be the person to go, but you could be murders for him. So weird. I never knew about at the time, but they apparently they collected all these letters and then they had a big discussion about what to do about it, and I think they did end up referring the person to the police event, but I never got them, so I don't. I don't talk about mine because mine's very recent and I don't want to encourage it. I don't blame you. You know who else got some weird letters? Jonathan Taylor Thomas, Oh, I'm sure. Oh, I couldn't even have mad when when he had that amount of fame. Um, quickly, they are not my stories to share, so I won't do it. But if we are ever lucky enough to get Jonathan on this podcast, as I guess I, I don't even know if he'd want to talk about it, but boy, did he ever get some And he's such a quiet He was such a quiet, unassuming kid that it's you know, yeah, dealing with that kind of stuff at that age. It's just something the idea that you even have to put that on your radar, that you have to deal with with people that are unbalanced. I was so stupid, like when I started driving, and so this was when I was eighteen, because I moved out of my parents house and was living in Manhattan Beach, and people would go to our live studio audience tapings and then pull their cars off of a lot and park off to the side and then wait for us to drive. And then I got followed home a couple of times, and at least one time I actually got off on an off ramp before my off ramp and then stopped at the red light at the end of the off ramp and it was just me and the car behind me that had been following me, and I got out of my car and walked up to the driver's side and there was two guys and they rolled down their window and I said, this is not cool. I know what you're doing. I've seen you been following me from all the way from back there. What are you doing? You want to see where I live? And then what this is scary? And they were like, we're so sorry. I really apologize. I know the stupid like what talk about Chris and just like just so you're invincible decisions you make at that age. But yeah, like I would never do something like that now, but oil boy, I was a real maroon back in the day. All right, Um, so our second top question that we were asked, and I will say the second question. The second question we'd like to ask is do you story you know the story of that. I've never heard that. Bugs Bunny used to say, it's in the Looney Tunes, And it was because you couldn't say the word more on television back then. They thought that the word moron was you know, like a real insult or you know, just a or something. Yeah, I was like, so instead he called everybody maroons or whatever, or maybe I have heard that. I don't know. Well, this is honestly, it's become a very controversial subject on the hard Meats world. It is honestly maybe bigger than what is it Llama pet Writer recently mentioned a certain popularity he has on the internet and he said Jeff rather than Giff. It is Jeff, thank you. So the three of us are all and complete agreement. That the three because are in complete agreement that it is Jeff exactly. Now, to be fair, the creator has also said that both are acceptable. But it is supposed to be Jiff and it doesn't come from graphics like people think o that would be the hard g It doesn't come from that, he said. It is supposed to be from in a Jiffy for the fast pace and the shortness of the image. So it is Jeff. It is not pronounced gift if you want to say gift. They have said that now both are acceptable. However, if you come for Writer one more time and say what he says Jiff like the penut butter, and you make fun of him one more time, I'm gonna find where you live and I'm gonna follow you off. I'm gonna follow you home, and they're no, Mobby's not gonna do that. But it is Jeff, guys, Yeah, it's Jeff. There's so they're very quick. Story. Um, Gene Roddenberry, who created Star Trek, went to a Star Trek invention and he stood up in front of everybody and between the Star trek uh fans there is a break between trek eas and trekkers, and so he stood up and said, I want to welcome all you trekkers here. Are trek hes here, And somebody stood up and said it's trekkers and he looked at him and he said, it's trek ease. I invented the thing. So it's that same kind of thing. It's like when the inventor says it's called a Jeff. If you find the comment first, you get to name the comment. That's the way it works. So it's that same kind of thing. Yeah, it is Jeff. I'm sorry to ruin all of your lives, but it's Jeff. Anyway, let's get into some questions. I thought this was a really interesting question, and I, well, I don't know how much the three of us all know about it. You guys probably know more about it than I do. But the question was, it's usually the case our residuals still good money for you guys, And I thought, that's really interesting that we've never really explained how residuals work, what residuals are. How much do we even know how residuals work. It's truthfully, we don't know. We just trust the system that the system is working. Right. That's not a very smart thing to do, especially at least in the animation world. You have to fight and hunt down a lot of your residuals sometimes so forever. I mean, this is a very going to be it could be a very long winded answer that I don't want it to be. But for every different type of production, film, streaming, TV, animation, commercials, there are their own set of rules for residuals. And then it's also different based on the budget of all of those things, right like low budget indies, ultra low budget, low budgets all there. They all have their own specific title and and they are you know, they get their titles based on exactly how much money is going into the production. Um, depending on what that is, that your residuals could be different. Just speaking to our experience with Boy Meets World, UM, I think the way residuals work is that the first time in episode airs, you you know, you well, we get paid our weekly salary or our per episode salary, and then the first time it airs you get that payment, not that the first time you've been paid for When reruns you get paid almost the same amount. Again, if it's on network, if it's network, well that's what I'm saying for us with Meets World. It also depends on the network. Depends on Yeah, because if it was cable as opposed to network network at the time, like if it's aired on Disney Channel, that we'd get less money than if it aired again on ABC. But when we were on Boy Meats World from to two thousand, yes, our reruns until we went into syndication, our reruns were only on ABC, right, yes, right, because it wasn't shown anywhere. It wasn't anywhere even really had reruns at the time. I don't think they ever did reruns. Wasn't it just if we had if we had an episode that didn't like we There was times where we didn't have a new episode, but they'd still put up an older Boy Meats World. Wouldn't they do that? Also, what would happen during the summer they didn't have the show? No, I think during the summer of t G I F always tried to do something else. It was like Summer Splash or ABC this that they did not they saved the show. I mean that was the idea. It was that that was why you wanted to have enough episodes to have a syndication package that they could sell other local which was every episodes, because then you would have enough episodes that it would be a worthwhile investment for a local channel to purchase the rights to play that those episodes as a package. Um, so you would always want the thing. All of this is pretty antiquated now, I mean it's it's totally and and so the way it used to work is that basically sag the Screen Actors Guild. You know, the idea of the whole idea behind residuals was that you could only have to work a few times a year, Right like if you did a commercial or you did a TV a guest star on one show, that that would sustain you by uh continuing to pay you every time a company re aired it because they make more money off of airing a rerun. Right, they can still sell advertisers on the idea that they're showing content. But you as an actor of only you showed up that one day or that one week and did that one job. But they're making money off of your image and your content that you participated. And so the whole idea behind residuals is that writers, directors and actors, the creatives that help, you know, create the content, can continue to make money off of that content as it keeps making money in other contexts. And so you you continuously get checks in the mail that can be tiny, that can be I've gotten five cent checks, I've gotten two cent checks many times. Uh so, And and there's a there's a formula that they figured out that they've agreed to basically between the unions, like so the director's Guild, the Writer's Guild, the screen actors Guild, they have to make separate agreements with the content created are the studios and the networks as to how much they're going to pay whenever an episode re airs and in a different context. So in other words, it's cheaper for it was when we were on on on boy Leats World, the unions wanted to support the new cable industry because cable was brand new at the time, and so in order to help cable companies be able to afford content. The unions agreed to take less money than the networks would have to pay if they showed the same content. So if an air an episode of Boy Meats World aired all a network show, ABC, NBC, CBS and eventually Fox, they would have to pay a premium. They would have to pay a certain amount, and we would actually make good money if those episodes. It was almost equivalent to our original paycheck, I think. Um. And then they could every time they showed that same episode a second, or third or four it got less and less money away every time, I think, I think it almost have every time. But if a cable company decided to show our show, they could show an episode eight times without having to pay us back in the day, or or they could only pay us a little bit and that would allow them to show them episode eight times. Um. And so the cable industry of course got huge and became very powerful, and uh, it's became a little ridiculous that they could get away with pain very little on the residuals, so everything had to be renegotiated. And then, of course the next thing was streamers streaming. So for a while there streamers could show content without having to pay for any residuals. Now, there are some residuals structured into but it's still not great a lot less than network television used to be. And that's because you know, streamers don't show commercials often the same way that network I used to show commercials. A perfect kind of example, So last week I got a residual check. I did one episode of thirty Rock from the Sun in two thousand and I got a check last week for forty four dollars. Okay, So it's like, and I have that's the first one. About three or four times a year, I'll get a check that's a dollar or less for Law and Order when I was fifteen, because it do you remember the residual bar and was it the residual bar and burbank where is it's called residuals. And if you go in with a check under a dollar, or it used to be, if you went in with the residual check under a dollar, they'd hang it on the wall and they'd give you a drink. So there is like residual a little residual checks all over the place, which is kind of a cool idea. Yeah, that is a cool idea. Um, yeah. I mean I think the thing that that would we would say two people is, um, there's still some money coming in from residuals, but it is not even remotely enough to live on. It's diminishing returns throughout the years. That's yeah. But I think if you were on a hitch, I mean I think a show like Simpsons is still getting more incredible residuals. Oh yeah, Or if you were on um, you know, my guess is because something like Big Bang Theory is everywhere. You know, they probably got a very good but I remember somebody, But oftentimes I think, like when Friends negotiated that they got paid a million dollars each, I think they were. They might because they that was part of the negotiations that you buy us out per episode so we do not continue to get for the for the producers and the creators of the show. I mean, somebody once told me that Charles in Charge when it was when into syndications was worth three million dollars to the creators and the and the stars of the show. I mean the famous one was was when Seinfeld went into syndication and Larry David and Jerry Seinfeld split a billion dollars so I mean there's there's for the creators of the show, um and executive bruces of the show. It can be a lot of money, but I think it's still the case. It might not be with everything is different with streaming. Well, perfect example with with animation. When back in the day, you used to get a set amount of money for your session fee. You'd signed you sign a contract every time you went in to do every individual episode, even if you're a regular on the show, and you'd sign that and then you'd get residuals. Now, if you go do a regular session fee for something like a Netflix, the check is slightly bigger because they know you're not going to get the same residuals. So it's you're signing a slightly bigger uh day player check, you know, contract, but it's not breaking the bank, but it's like an extra like hundred fifty dollars or something like that. So it's yeah, the whole thing is different with streamers. And that's why every five or six years when new technology comes out, there's everyone's like, why is SAG going to strike again? It's like, well, because now this new thing has been invented that wasn't here before and actors are getting screwed, so they're gonna, you know, we have to negotiate because we should be able to get something from now you're showing our show at nauseum and we're getting nothing. So yeah, they need to be in a renegotiation. That does it happens like every decade? Well, I think that's everything you've ever wanted and nothing and everything you ever wanted to know about information. So what is a line from Boy Meets World that you have repeated the most throughout your life? If any? Wow, because I do cameo, I would probably have to say, lose one friend, lose all friends, lose yourself, or life's tough, get a helmet. Those two are the people that they want those the most. I would probably say this outfit with this hair, hello but bye? I am so I can see that. What was that from the haircut episode haircut hair today, goon tomorrow? When you guys are like, Topanga is not going to change at all. I think your Shawn says that, like to Panga, you know, she's she's not the type to care about appearance. And then I come out and I say this outfit with this hair, hello but bye, I'm so at them all. Her hair is five inches shorter. She can't totally change the person she is. I mean, my favorite line that I think about all the time, which I've loved to discover something that um that the fans look too, is is they want you to take the roles like That was one thing we used to always say. And of course because and I think it's probably because you're at a restaurant often where they deliver roles, and so you think about that line, but I don't actually say it. But that's one of my favorite lines. You have to You have two writer that I think are arguably too of the best comedy lines in our show period. I think I know one of them that you're gonna say, but I don't say. You know, I don't like which one the don't move Maybe maybe he doesn't see us. That's brilliant. That's one of my favorite lines. And I'll get as sick as I can get without actually dying, I think, is one of the other very clever very kids won't get it, but adults will kind of lines. Those are another one that I've often thought so dumb. It is what a scuba stand for something something creepy and andy. If I remember correctly, that's a Jeff Manel line. We have to ask him if he came up with that, because I think that that was a Manel line. Uh, we haven't done that episode on the questions to ask Minnell to so many things that have come up that will be like Minnell, will no, let's ask Minnell. Yeah, okay, So another question, were we encouraged to improv do it during rehearsals or taping encouraged as a loading Absolutely not. I was never told not to, so I kind of did a lot. I think that there was a word for word obsession on the show if you messed up a line or really you were told to improv. Will I wasn't told to improv, but I improved all the time, and they were. They would always keep the camera Like I could think of a number of scenes where I just threw stuff in and they usually kept it. But mostly you were throwing in like at the end of a scene, the beginning of the scene. I would button sound or like I would butt in scenes a lot, or I would do something in run through that they then wrote into The switch of the scot was something they did quite a bit again. You and Ben and Danielle had had a different acting experience on the show than I did. I was very much kind of left alone as I as we got later in the show, especially where it was just kind of like if I can get the laugh, go get the laugh. That was kind of what it was. You guys had the more dramatic kind of storyline, so I think they wanted to stick to that more. And then it was kind of like, now watch will go sneeze lottery tickets? You know, So it was I I was not encouraged is not the right word, but I certainly was not discouraged from IMPROVM as how I would say it, what do you guys know about the episodes that were banned from Disney Channel and will you be rewatching them? I tried to. It was so funny. The other day I was trying I was working on something for us and I was trying to remember all. I think there's four and I was trying to remember which ones they were. There's two I think that I have to do with drinking. Okay, there's one where Korey and to Panga are contemplating losing their virginity from from prom okay. And then there's one other and I can't remember what it was. Was it the honeymoon episode because they actually make love or is it because that was just such a terrible episode that they didn't want to air it on a television anywhere in the world. Um. But I think I can't think of what the fourth one is and I didn't want to google it. I've been I'm like, I'm not going to google it, and I want to see what it is. But does anybody know of are those streaming on Disney Plus or did Disney Plus not put those on either? I do not know the answer to this question. I don't know how many there are. I think it's four, but it also maybe five. Um, and I do think they were drinking, yeah, drinking related and sex related. And I don't know if they're on Disney Plus. So we do need to research it though, because I don't know when the first one is that will come to and if we're watching it on Disney Plus, we're gonna need to find it somewhere else. But not only that, but Disney would internally edit episodes. They would cut lines, they would cut beats. Now with other shows, because I know mash backwards and forwards and mashes ones, and they're cutting stuff out. Well, no, but I know that Disney when they re aired our show on Disney Channel would cut because maybe it was a scream episode. They probably cut the scream episode. They probably didn't air that on Disney Channel, right, I don't know, I don't know. You also know that when that there's different sometimes on cable syndication, there's different timing than there is on UH network. So so a network run was twenty three minutes plus seven minutes of commercials, So a UH cable run might have been short, just they might have short and no, because they didn't have they do have commercials on Disney. No, they didn't have commercials on Disney Channel. They don't. They did know they do, Okay, Um, But to answer the question, um, I mean I remember the drinking stuff very vividly, like you know, acting those episodes, um, and feeling challenged by them and discussing like how to play drunk and all that stuff of course. Um. And then I remember really not liking the prom episode. Yeah, we were taping it. I remember being very upset during that entire week. I was very upset with the adults on our set. The way that they were approaching this UM specifically because UM, we were not discussing UM safe sex. That the fact that we would not bring up Corey and to Banga using condoms or having a discussion about birth control at all, and yet the entire episode is about whether will they or will they not in the bedroom in the hotel room, and it was and I just remember being so upset. And then like three weeks and I brought it up. I remember talking to Michael about it and saying, like, can we talk about this, Like maybe you generationally don't understand that, but like we were growing up in the era of AIDS, this is something that we have to talk about, Like when you are discussing losing your virginity, you discuss who you know, how you're going to do it, and like how to be safe about it. And he completely blew me off and told me it was a ridiculous thing to worry about UM and that we don't even need to discuss it UM. And I felt at the time that that was incredibly irresponsible. And and then I remember like three episodes later, we were doing an episode where we made a joke about sharing razors, where Corey and like to pangas talk about sharing razors in college, and I remember during a note session, Michael Jacob saying, you know, I recently read that hepatitis can spread through razors? Are we being irresponsible by And I was like, I just remember being so pissed. I was like, oh, this is where now we're going to talk about, like us hepatitis. But for whatever reason, the notion of like discussing safe sex was off the table, even though the entire episode was about having sex. So I I remember being very upset during that episode and just generationally feeling that difference, like, oh, well, you know, it's not something that they were concerned with, And I felt like, you know, first of all, I remember being very uncomfortable all the sex conversation. I'm going the world like it was just weird, um, you know, And and it was so I remember rolling my eyes about all the like Corey to Panga virgin stuf. It's like it just felt so uh precious, outdated and also just weird to be talking about, like why are we obsessing over this um even at the time, and then um, and then yet if you're going to do a whole episode about it, to not discuss it responsibly felt really all. You know, Yeah, I think I'll probably have more memories. I remember also feeling very uncomfortable the whole week, um for similar reasons, But I don't necessarily have specific memories other than just kind of um ickiness um about the week. So yeah, I mean, I mean, yeah, I don't. I honestly don't remember the episode. And I think there's three episodes that and it says three that haven't been I did finally google three that weren't on Disney Channel, um, and that this is one of them. I think this is the one called if you can't be the with the one you love? Is that that that one? Season five? Um? I believe that's what they're talking about. But I mean I get them doing an episode about losing your virginity on problem not. I think that's a natural thing to kind of happen. Yeah, I mean, that's that's a that's a real issue too. I think bring up but not bring up the safe sex thing doesn't make any sense. But um, yes, promises promises you can't be with the one you love, So that's got to be a different one then, um Shawn's character one. Yeah, see again, I don't I don't know these episodes promises, promises, and then the third one is the Truth about Honesty. Mm hmm ah, no idea. So maybe maybe one of those is the is the and when I don't know that says you can watch him on Hulu. When Topanga used Cory's razor, he became on set, which I mean, that's literally the episode you're talking about, is the Truth about Honesty. We have them on DVD, so we will watch We will watch them if they're not on Disney Plus, we will watch them on DVD. I don't remember any of those episodes. Now another question, would you ever be interested in revisiting the Boy Meets World unit verse? I think now is probably a fine time to mention that a couple of years ago we talked very briefly about doing a totally weird offshoot of a Boy Meets World reboot that actually was kind of in the horror genre. It was it was such a fun idea and a fun script, and we were all going to be able to, you know, be producers or writers and actually we ourselves correct, we were playing ourselves, having been on a fictionalized version of a Boy meets World that we were calling something else. Um, but we were all involved. It was going to be really fun and it was going to be like Scream meets a Boy meets World ish reboot, and um, we took it pretty far. We got pretty far in the process. We actually sold the idea to a streamer who I will not mention, and then said streamer wasn't really sure exactly what they were doing with their their their network, if you will, and it ended up getting dropped. And then we took the idea to uh Sony, and Sony bought the idea and we were really excited. But then Sony and this other streamer couldn't work out the terms to let us go over to Sony, and the whole idea just kind of now lays their dormant in a puddle at our feet. So well, you said something, Danielle that I thought was amazing at the time, because we were talking about and reboots were big, and you said, you know what, it's never been done that I really want to do. I want to reboot the caste which is I don't want to reboot the show. I want us all the whole cast to get together and do a different project as different people, totally different show. I just think it would be I think it's kind of an interesting experiment, agreed. I think that is you take the cast of a show and you put them in a different show with different characters. You see if people would be able to accept them as other characters. And I think if they're different enough, it's cool enough that they would. But that idea always stuck with me, the idea of rebooting the cast as opposed to the show. I think that's great. And we knew that Writer really didn't have much of an interest in being an actor. So Writer actually ended up in a coma at the end of the first episode, which got him to just basically lay there very still exactly. So whatever this, whatever, this new version is of us rebooting the cast, Writer, you can be in a you can be in a coma, I think it. And you're just direct exactly perfect, all right. So yes, I think, like Will said, um, we have no interest in doing another Boy Meets World related show, but rebooting something where we all got to work together and we had agency in it and could have a say in it from a producing and writing and directing standpoint, I think, yeah, I mean, obviously, we all love each other and we love working together, and so we're always coming up with ideas and things that we could do. So you never know, maybe somewhere down the line you'll see You'll see us doing something. Um, someone wanted to know, can we get evidence that Danielle wrapped a bust of rhyme song during MTV spring break? I have a bet with my brother. I remember it. He says it never happened. We can't find it anywhere. Who is right? Did you? I most certainly did, and it was per Say What Karaoke during MTVS spring Break, and UM, it was so much fun. I mean, you guys know what a big hip hop head I've been for most of my life, and so when I got to do say What karaoke, I wanted to do that song and I did it. It was really fun. You cannot find it anywhere. I have no copy of it. I don't I I don't know where it is. MTV is very believe YouTube doesn't have it. MTV is very uh, they are very protective over their I P and I don't know, it's just not there. It comes up all the time that people are like, did I is that a fever dream. Did I dream that? And it's like, no, it really happened, but there is no evidence on it of it online. So I remember you talking to me about this. Isn't it true that one of the reasons like you didn't win or something that is because you were wrapping faster than Busta rhymes. Yeah, and it's not necessarily because I'm faster than Busta rhymes. It was the way the earpiece was in my ear and the way so I actually lost, Like I came in third place. I'm at Zappa, I think one or maybe it was the kids from Geeks freaksing Geeks, maybe they won something, but either way, I came in third place. And um, my performance was good, but in my earpiece and the way the audience was yelling and everything, the music actually started in my ear sooner than it started elsewhere, and so I was like I was, I started a little fast and then yes, I was rapping faster than Busta rhymes. Um, and I think that may have affected my my win, but yes I did it and it was really fun. And um, you win the bet with your brother, so that's very exciting. Um, do you still get Disney perks? Do you have to pay for Disney plus we get no Disney perks, and yes, we have to pay for Disney was I have a story about that. Actually, we used to be able to call up and say I want to go to Disneyland next week or whatever, and they would give us free tickets. Um. When we went to Disney World, they would fly us there for events and then we would get the v I P Guest guide, like taking us to the front of the line. But like, I remember being able to go to Disney And I didn't take advantage of this too often, but I remember being able to go to Disneyland just by calling us, you know, the publicity department, saying hey, could I get tickets, and they would give me tickets um for me and my friends to go. I only did it a few times, but I remember when our show got uh got canceled, or when it was over. I went to New York to like the week after our show was canceled, and I had talked to somebody about getting tickets to go see The Lion King on Broadway, uh and the they didn't get back to me. And I remember the show in New York. I was calling to Pelicity department being like, hey can I yeah, yeah, right, we'll get back to you about that. Click. Never heard back, Like the just ended, no more Disney tickets, own more ability to see Broadway shows Disney Broadway Show, and I never heard back from the publicity department. It was like, literally the week after the show ended. I was in New York being like, hey, you know, Lisa whomever, like, remember those tickets we've done. Yeah, I'll look into that, right, we'll get back to you. Never. I still do some voice over stuff for Disney, so I still get some of the Disney perks. That's good. Yeah, I mean I direct for Disney, writer directed for Disney. They don't give them to the directors, they give them to the actors. Yeah, um, and yeah, you get like a certain amount every season. You'd be like, okay, you get you know, twelve free tickets or something. And so it used to be really fun because you could just call up and be like, Okay, me and three are my friends are coming, and they'd put your names down and get the very fun company to work for. My favorite, my favorite event was when you know, they shut down Disney after five PM during the holiday season for a couple of nights, Like there's like three nights where Disney employees and not actors, but everybody works in every aspect of Disney can go for the holiday for for it's like only open to Disney employees from five pm on during the holiday season for a couple of days. And that is so much fun because it's at night and the cark is, you know, at like twenty percent capacity. And I just remember like me and Ben running around because they would take us down in a bus when that would happen, and all the Boy Meets World cast and crew would go down together, and I just I just remember those. I have such fun memories because I felt like Disney Disneyland was ours, you know not. It was like it was like the whole park was was Disney people and Disney eployees. And we would get um an ornament to like a Disney special around when you left the park. Uh, And I did, and there was something magical about that. I did that all the way up into college. I remember going to those things and I still, yeah, I missed them. Yeah, no, there's great. One of my coolest memories ever in my life is Melissa jone Hart and I were shooting something for Disney and Disney World, and we had to shoot it at night, so we had the whole park to ourselves. That literally it was you had the Magic Kingdom. It was the two of us together, just walking around at like three o'clock in the morning. All the rides were working, everything was up because they were shooting stuff, and it was empty, so it was like, here's Disney World. It was so cool. It was awesome. No, I that is still so fun. I love those memories of us on those cast and crew knights. It was so much fun. That's the story Lee told actually about Lee and I on the bus together. Daniel Do you remember you and I doing one of those together? Do you remember? Because I had totally forgotten about this and then somebody sent me a clip of it. You and I were flown to Disney World for the opening of the Animal Kingdom. Oh, I do remember that, and you and I just hung out there for a bunch of days and a bunch of stuff, and it was just the two of us, and it was like Drew Carey and we were hanging out with Drew carry and he was throwing out us. Like Danielle will tell us about the animals and we were hanging out with everybody there. I forgot about that entirely, but yes, yeah, you and I did a whole big thing. It was a ton of fun. Yeah. We also did the anniversary of Disney World. That was a week long celebration and they flew us all out there and we were doing so much press. We were there for a while. Like that was huge event. That was cool. We had that. We had the Chicago Bulls private plane fly us here. Remember that. It was a little cabins and everything, and I just remember sitting there playing magic, the gathering with you in the in the plane as we were flying there. I only flew back, so it would have been on the flight. Okay, the only time because it was my first time on a private plane. Um. But yeah, I remember. I remember meeting Michael Jay Fox that week. We all sat there and talked to him. It was the coolest thing. Oh my god, it was like meeting my my hero. It was I was star strive speechless. It was one of the coolest things that ever happened. And he knew who we were like that he did because he knew be Remember Ben was like he was in Mr. Fox. Yeah, and he's like Mr Fox, He's like you guys, And we sat and talked with him, and then he was in the parade of the Hand of Us and I remember we kept making faces at each other and I was just like it was the coolest thing in the world. Fox knows who I am. Those are such good memories. Um. So this is from Tyler Eikenberg from the episode one oh two. In the water Fight, Amy is using a hose, which got him thinking about the show's plumbing. How much of a set was actually set up for plumbing. Were the sinks and toilets and showers actually working? Did any of the sinks work? No, they have to always add a water tank. You have their offset make it work. They will say do you want a functional sink? Do you need a functional whatever, and then they can make it work. But it's otherwise it's not working. I found out the hard way. Those toilets are fake. The walls are so incredibly thin, Like I don't think people realize that, Like, you know, they don't have fault they're not built to code. They're built So it's like the so all the like break is fake, all the style is fake. It's all just it's all fake and it's very thin, and if you could see the behind what you know, you're you're looking at very flimsy structures. Yeah. So is it common for sitcoms to shoot out of order like we did with the pilot in the first season? Um No, I don't know. I don't think to shoot in order of their season. Yeah, And I think we probably stuck with an order after the first season. I think it was during the and they were still trying to figure out which episodes to air, you know, for that's the thing. We probably shot in order, but they aired them in a different order, right, But I would say after that, after second season, they probably were in the order that we shot, I would have Yeah. So I don't know if we're going to know the answer to this question. Were some sets redesigned to look like different places? For example, the outdoor store looks similar to the ski cabin where Corey kissed Lauren, and the house party where Corey is drunk and dancing looks like the Matthews living room. Yes, the answer to that is yes. And I can give you definitive proof, and that is Jonathan Turner's apartment turned into Jack and Eric's apartment. So it was actually exactly the same set redesigned that used to do it all the time because you're you know, you're on a budget, so you build a set, you throw it in a in a shed somewhere, and then you take it out and you repurpose it for something else. So yes, I would not doubt at all that the Wilderness Store was something else. Yeah, that makes sense. I forgot about the apart the apartment switched all yeah. Yeah. What did the writer's room of Boy Meats World look like? Kind of just like an office room, like a pretty boring like one one big table, a folding table. This is a conference room, yeah, and then offices kind offices they had where people that writers would go off and write. And then the other than a few core people, the staff was changing every year. I mean there'll be four or five that were the same, and then they try new people that would come in or or they'd be interns or writers, and they always tic TACs, tons of food, tons of paper, airplanes, nerf guns. I mean it's like it's like a kid's room essentially. So yeah, So later in the show, when the show had more fans showing up to tapings, would they be given any context before the episode began feeling filming specifically thinking about during the times after Coreyan too paying a breakup. Would the studio audience have to piece together based on context that the relationship had ended. I remember them at certain times showing the episode before to the audience, Right, yeah, okay, that's what I thought, Yeah, okay. Would they would always give context? Our warm up guy would give a little bit of context. So since you've seen the last since the last time you may have watched boy meets well, here's what happened, and they would lead through so then this happened with this episode, and this happened with this episode, and now we're going to play for you last week's episode. So they would always get to watch the episode that preceded this one that they were about to watch films, so they had an idea of context. And they also, you know, it gave them thirty minutes of something to do in the audience, Um, while they were waiting for us to come out and start the show. Can we talk very briefly about how amazing our audiences were because you have to sit there sometimes for hours, watch the same thing over and over again, and they were engaged and loving and so amazing. Week after week we had the best audiences, So I really a big shout out because, especially when you're doing a sitcom, Um, the audience is another character, absolutely another character, and it was a character that showed up for us every single week. You kept us on our toes, you kept us active, you kept us happy. It was unbelievable. So everybody who came and supported us live, you were amazing and you really made it a better show every single week. So thank you for that. Absolutely. Well, this concludes our last Q and A episode. We have been asked already many times if we have anything that we can share from our first ever live pod meets World show, and uh, we do. We have some clips for you. We can't play the whole thing because part of what makes the live show special is that what happens in the room kind of sometimes sort of stays in the room. So there are some things that we just won't be sharing with you, but we do have some clips that we want you to take a listen to. So here are a few of those clips. Um. I did a question for Rider in Trina Um I think I love the show so much obviously, but one of the things that made me the most uncomfortable watching the show is especially as a kid, was that Angela and Sean would awkwardly just seeming like they made out so much, like just like in the background. I remember there was one episode where it was almost like an ongoing joke. They were like on the in the student union's called a student union by the way. I know that was a podcast joke, and you're just like on the couch and I think maybe you're one time um making out on top of Eric. And I'm just wondering, one how like how did you prepare for those scenes and then chapstick? Yeah? And secondly, is it like is it was it weird for you? Now? I know that you talked about in the podcasts they're being an age difference, so I'm not pointing out something that no one knows, But is it weird? Now? Was it weird? Then? I just wanted to It was not weird at all. It was like I remember thinking it was totally like now it seems weird to me, Like now I watched the show and I'm like, oh my god, yeah, because we are We're kissing all the time, and like the whole scenes where we're like kiss talk, kiss talk, and I'm like, well, this is like a huge part of the show and yeah, I don't know. But at the time it never girt. I don't know. It felt totally fine, like we were very each other. Yeah, we were cool. I mean it was something about us are it is always very comfortable with each other. So I never feel I always feel actually more comfortable in general when you're around. So so no, it's true, So you know, No, it wasn't. I would say your lips were a little dry sometimes that I remember, but overall he was very enjoyable. You know, comes out you heard it here first man, alright, chapstick on vest I think it's a little past the time writer. Hi, Hello, Hi, I'm Nicole. You guys are amazing and wonderful. Thank you so much. I brought my mom she watches it with me, so thanks. Um. So my question is, I know you all did that kind of crossover with Sabrina, with the whole time ball situation. So if you could have put your characters into a completely different TV show, what TV show would you want them to go into and why A question answer? Let's all say it together. Mash there's his Okay. I I wrote this thing once, and I think Sean would have been great on like a drama, like like a cop like a greedy cop show drama or something Austin's Creek were. But it basically was on that, you know, like that's what Boy became essentially. No, like I would like to see Sean like a really gritty, you know, I don't know, doing this the whole tag exactly catching all your hood came. Yeah. Well, I would think it would be really funny if the cast of Boy Meets World tried an episode of good Times. I think that'd be really funny. Man. I think to Panga would have like I would have loved to have seen Topanga in her lawyer dom, like on the practice or like something like that. Because even when we did Girl Meets World and it was like to pangas a lawyer and it basically met you saw her with a briefcase every now and then. Um, so I wouldn't like, I'd like to see Topanga talking lawyer. Did you ever get to do any lawyerly things? No, I got to I think I got to show up at the school at the classroom once, and like that's when Lee came back and I was doing something but it wasn't cool, lawyally, so yeah, I think like the practice to Penguin, the practice would have been fun.
