<v Speaker 1>He'll be don't be beer, it's the Internet. You're busy.
<v Speaker 2>Let's do this for July twenty sixth, twenty twenty four.
<v Speaker 2>For the next hour or so, let me help you
<v Speaker 2>sort through the world of gaming on Game This Morning's
<v Speaker 2>Live with me Jeff Grubb. Today, somebody wake up to
<v Speaker 2>more husseying because soul reavers back first, please join me
<v Speaker 2>and welcoming today's co host and Game This Mornings.
<v Speaker 1>It's Jordan Midler. Everybody, Jordan, how are you doing.
<v Speaker 3>I'm good, brother. It's been a long time, and the
<v Speaker 3>last time I saw you you were just about holding
<v Speaker 3>on wrangling games journalists on tack couch all kicking off.
<v Speaker 2>That's right, you were. You were being taller than everyone expected,
<v Speaker 2>is what you were.
<v Speaker 1>Doing at that time.
<v Speaker 3>It was a rude, disheartening thing because I thought, I
<v Speaker 3>felt like, I feel like I shook myself in such
<v Speaker 3>a way that it conveys the height. But everyone it's like,
<v Speaker 3>you're fox tall and unexpected. But I'm not wreakishly tall
<v Speaker 3>to where it becomes a thing like I feel like
<v Speaker 3>you get to like six five six sex, it's like,
<v Speaker 3>holy shit, look at the size of that.
<v Speaker 2>Anyone will talk about when you walk Yeah, when you
<v Speaker 2>walk out. So yeah, that's got to be annoying. But yes,
<v Speaker 2>you're it was the unexpected hide that you had to
<v Speaker 2>deal with. The Mike Manatti dealt with a similar thing.
<v Speaker 2>Does that disappoint you as well that you had to
<v Speaker 2>do with Oh, that's kind of be a Mike Manatti situation.
<v Speaker 3>No, I feel like I spent a lot of my
<v Speaker 3>life in a Mike Naughty situation. No, No, I want
<v Speaker 3>to say X later. I was in a room with
<v Speaker 3>Mike Manatti at that Star Wars thing, which we can
<v Speaker 3>finally talk about next week, and all he wasn't listening
<v Speaker 3>to one thing about that game. He was just playing
<v Speaker 3>the fucking It's a Small World music in his head
<v Speaker 3>because it was Disney time. The next day, uh huh.
<v Speaker 3>I was on a plane flying home to Great Britain
<v Speaker 3>when I saw a tweet from him being like sixteen
<v Speaker 3>and a half hours done in the park, and I'm like, motherfucker,
<v Speaker 3>what are your bones made of that you can still
<v Speaker 3>be walking after that long?
<v Speaker 2>Well, to be fair, he was on recently on a
<v Speaker 2>round of steroids for a health issue, and that he's like, listen,
<v Speaker 2>I'm on the tail end of that, but that's still
<v Speaker 2>helping me.
<v Speaker 1>He says he's.
<v Speaker 2>Worried that he will return to being mortal the next
<v Speaker 2>time he goes to Disney, So.
<v Speaker 3>He's got to stay on it. He's got to stay
<v Speaker 3>on the fucking.
<v Speaker 1>He's got to get back on the juice.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, gotta get the gimmicks absolutely real quick. I got
<v Speaker 2>breaking news here. It says over here VGC starts a Patreon.
<v Speaker 2>What's going on over here?
<v Speaker 3>That is what's the first I've heard of?
<v Speaker 1>It was too hot for OnlyFans, is my first question.
<v Speaker 3>Look, Jeff, VGC is all about novel gimmicks, so we
<v Speaker 3>thought a subscription service for a video game website. Why
<v Speaker 3>don't we try and do something like that. No Patreon
<v Speaker 3>dot com slash Video Games Chronicle as your one stop
<v Speaker 3>shop for essentially more VGC. What we were really keen
<v Speaker 3>to do is not take any of the VGC stuff
<v Speaker 3>and then hide it away. So all of your VGC news, reviews, opinions,
<v Speaker 3>they're all still there on VGC. But if you want
<v Speaker 3>more podcasts, more videos, more of us, you can support us.
<v Speaker 3>And also, if, like a lot of people have said
<v Speaker 3>in the past, I love VGC, I would happily send
<v Speaker 3>them some money. We do a lot of good work.
<v Speaker 3>You can do that there, and if you've already heard
<v Speaker 3>enough of me, you don't need to listen to the
<v Speaker 3>new podcasts, although I would highly recommend it. This month
<v Speaker 3>we are starting a new retro gaming podcast, which is
<v Speaker 3>the number one thing we've been asked to do because
<v Speaker 3>Christillion and Andy Robinson are old af We have a
<v Speaker 3>short list of guests that we're going to drag on there,
<v Speaker 3>and you are on that list obviously, because I can
<v Speaker 3>just put you through in a call and I can
<v Speaker 3>say talk about the netty Rosie, and that's so Patreon
<v Speaker 3>dot com, Slash Video Games Chronicle. We've somehow juped our
<v Speaker 3>very nice friends across the industry to shout out for us,
<v Speaker 3>so we appreciate it greatly. I won't go on about it.
<v Speaker 3>I understand that there is tons of things asking for
<v Speaker 3>your money, and there's tons of Patreons, and there's people
<v Speaker 3>have never had less money thanks Obama, So people have
<v Speaker 3>to be kind of consented what they pay for. But
<v Speaker 3>if you choose BGC would very much appreciate it. Patreon
<v Speaker 3>dot com, Slash Video Games Chronicle. I'm not quite at
<v Speaker 3>the Greg Meller point of being the greatest of all
<v Speaker 3>time at plugging patreons. But I need to you're getting
<v Speaker 3>to build up those.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, yeah, you're You could see the momentum building. You're
<v Speaker 2>already a on a trajectory to surpass him, for sure.
<v Speaker 1>I did.
<v Speaker 2>I just subscribed while you were talking. It's asking me,
<v Speaker 2>do you want to send a message to the team.
<v Speaker 2>I'm just send nudes. All right, there we go submit.
<v Speaker 3>I'm happy to Yeah this this nice Xbox.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, nice Xbox Slash shirt. I like that a lot.
<v Speaker 1>That's good stuff. I remember when I was like the thing.
<v Speaker 3>My god, I mean, Microsoft can't put out games, but
<v Speaker 3>their merch is unbelievable. Yeah, really nice soft t shirts.
<v Speaker 3>And on the back of it it has like the
<v Speaker 3>list of things that came in the three sixty box
<v Speaker 3>and dead pos But yeah, I love to come on
<v Speaker 3>an Xbox three sixty box. But yeah, petreon dot com
<v Speaker 3>Slash Video Games Chronicle because.
<v Speaker 1>Video Games Chronicle.
<v Speaker 3>Everybody vedie Old Games Canonical because Slash VGC went to
<v Speaker 3>a Christian podcast called Vetty Good Questions, so we can't.
<v Speaker 1>Get VGC too. There you go, the sequel to Very
<v Speaker 1>Good Christians.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, everybody like Jordan said, everyone's asking for money all
<v Speaker 2>the time, but just put your money where your mouth this.
<v Speaker 2>There are gonna be a lot of people that they'll
<v Speaker 2>be like, pay for video game content. That's crazy, get
<v Speaker 2>out of here. I'll never do that. And those people suck.
<v Speaker 2>We got to make up for them. We've got to
<v Speaker 2>make up the difference the negative energy that they're putting
<v Speaker 2>out there and uh, actually help out.
<v Speaker 3>So what kind of many energy drinks I have to
<v Speaker 3>pay for? Exactly?
<v Speaker 2>People don't understand that, right, They don't understand that's what
<v Speaker 2>fuels this whole thing and how expensive that habit is.
<v Speaker 2>Absolutely uh but but yeah, we VGC is a service everybody.
<v Speaker 2>I use it so often on this show. If it
<v Speaker 2>went away, I would honestly almost have a panic attack
<v Speaker 2>because the behalf of the news would be gone. Yes,
<v Speaker 2>can we put that in quote?
<v Speaker 1>Something? You absolutely can put that. That's a box quote
<v Speaker 1>right there.
<v Speaker 2>All right, everybody, let's let's explain what we do here
<v Speaker 2>most weekdays. I Jeff Garb will help you's your gaming
<v Speaker 2>life back together. That includes breaking news and maybe even
<v Speaker 2>some of our own original report. Anyway, before I'm gonna
<v Speaker 2>stop it there. I never do this but stop it.
<v Speaker 2>I might sound tired because I had moths in my
<v Speaker 2>pantry last night and I spent I was from like
<v Speaker 2>I got done with a little bit of work and
<v Speaker 2>then I came downstairs to do like I for like
<v Speaker 2>the think I forgot to turn off YouTube or something
<v Speaker 2>or fucking restream broke and I came downstairs and I'm
<v Speaker 2>like sitting there and stuff's like I got some of
<v Speaker 2>the show when you come upstairs. I'm like, okay. I
<v Speaker 2>come upstairs at like eight pm and uh to like
<v Speaker 2>look at this. I'm like, okay, what's going on? And
<v Speaker 2>she's like got everything out, like a bunch of stuff
<v Speaker 2>out of the pantry. I still do to get most
<v Speaker 2>of it.
<v Speaker 1>Out of there. She's like, yeah, like if you look
<v Speaker 1>up there, there's like.
<v Speaker 2>Twelve moths like kind of nesting in the top corner
<v Speaker 2>of our pantry. I'm like, well, that's not great. And
<v Speaker 2>we looked into that and it's like, no, you've got
<v Speaker 2>to fucking take care of that now or that's your
<v Speaker 2>entire fucking life.
<v Speaker 1>So I spent.
<v Speaker 2>From eight pm until two am last night taking everything
<v Speaker 2>out of the pantry, checking everything, throwing out about half
<v Speaker 2>of the food because we saw like the little like
<v Speaker 2>just evidences of whatever bug stuff, and through half of
<v Speaker 2>it out and cleaned off the rest and have it
<v Speaker 2>under a blanket somewhere hidden. And the pantry is completely
<v Speaker 2>empty right now, making sure that nothing else is going
<v Speaker 2>to happen in there. But that was that was shitty.
<v Speaker 2>So I'm tired. I'm a very tired boy over here, Jordan.
<v Speaker 2>So we're going to get through this drugs day together,
<v Speaker 2>all right.
<v Speaker 3>I'm hyped. I've had so much caffeine. I'm pretty pretty good.
<v Speaker 1>All right. That's the energy I need to keep me going.
<v Speaker 2>All right, Yeah, most weekdays, Hi, Jeff Greb will help
<v Speaker 2>Peter gaming life back together. That includes breaking news and
<v Speaker 2>maybe even some of our own original reporting. For all
<v Speaker 2>these topics, I'll get the input of a bona fide
<v Speaker 2>expert who will make me look smart. If you are
<v Speaker 2>watching live on Twitch, welcome. You can always listen to
<v Speaker 2>the show later on podcast feeds by searching for Games
<v Speaker 2>Mornings or fine the RSS on giant bomb dot com.
<v Speaker 2>You could also catch the show later with chapters in
<v Speaker 2>timestamps on YouTube.
<v Speaker 1>Hello YouTube.
<v Speaker 2>All right, we have a lot to get into, so
<v Speaker 2>let's start the morning mess with Soul Reaver remasters seemingly
<v Speaker 2>confirmed by a statue at comic Con. This is from
<v Speaker 2>Georgia at GameSpot. Remasters of Legacy of Kane Soul Reaver
<v Speaker 2>one and two have seemingly been confirmed by a statue
<v Speaker 2>shown off at San Diego San Diego Comic Con, spotted
<v Speaker 2>by a user on reset Era. A statue of characters Resi,
<v Speaker 2>Razio and Kane was displayed at San Diego Comic Con,
<v Speaker 2>and the and the and the plat card excuse me
<v Speaker 2>in front of it says Soul Reaver one ampersand two remastered,
<v Speaker 2>along with a QR code with the dark Horse Comics logo. Recently,
<v Speaker 2>dark Horse Comics announced that Legacy of Kane Soul Reaver
<v Speaker 2>the Dead Shall Rise comic that's coming out. So this
<v Speaker 2>statue suggests that announcement of remasters could be eminent.
<v Speaker 1>Uh.
<v Speaker 2>This is something that I think that they're probably saving.
<v Speaker 2>But maybe the merch person didn't get the memo that
<v Speaker 2>they weren't supposed to announce it or something like that. Jordan, Uh,
<v Speaker 2>this is something I feel like was going to happen eventually.
<v Speaker 1>That's where we're at with remasters and remakes. Uh.
<v Speaker 2>Still a little surprising to see, Hey, it's here and
<v Speaker 2>could get announced at any moment. What do you think
<v Speaker 2>you ever have any love for the soul reaver blood
<v Speaker 2>omen legacy of Kane series.
<v Speaker 3>And not personally, but obviously congrats to to mur Husse
<v Speaker 3>and that's the rst day for him. They can finally
<v Speaker 3>shut up. He won't, but he can. I think this
<v Speaker 3>is hilarious of all the ways for things to get announced,
<v Speaker 3>Like you're probably the same as me. The month leading
<v Speaker 3>up to Comic Con, I am under hella and bargoes
<v Speaker 3>because so much is going on. I checked home, my
<v Speaker 3>my emails and stuff. There was nothing to do with
<v Speaker 3>this like it. You would think that someone would do
<v Speaker 3>like a run round of the of the birth and
<v Speaker 3>goal that I don't. I don't think that's announced the
<v Speaker 3>same And Nintendo got stung with the same thing because
<v Speaker 3>that Lego Madio set announced because it was just sitting there.
<v Speaker 3>I wonder if this is real. Who can say if
<v Speaker 3>it's remastered is coming? But this is great. I want
<v Speaker 3>us to get to the point where every series that
<v Speaker 3>should be remastered to at least PS four standards and
<v Speaker 3>forward so it's accessible. Right has happened, like we need
<v Speaker 3>we need infamous, we need resistance, like just get through
<v Speaker 3>all of them. But yeah, this is this is great.
<v Speaker 3>I wonder I wonder how different they'll be if it's
<v Speaker 3>like a if it's the tom Raider approach of like here,
<v Speaker 3>is it exactly how it was, it just looks better,
<v Speaker 3>or if it's we've made this a bit better controlling,
<v Speaker 3>a bit better feelings, so it's how you remember it being. Well, see,
<v Speaker 3>I'm surprised it's not just being confirmed to be honest.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, I know, right, Well, that does suggest maybe there's
<v Speaker 2>there could be some weirdness here still, where maybe there's
<v Speaker 2>something that was in the works and isn't like Soulrey
<v Speaker 2>for under uh the play on Empire or whatever the
<v Speaker 2>fuck it's called now, the Embracer group. So maybe it
<v Speaker 2>was something they were working on and they pulled the
<v Speaker 2>plug on it because they don't have any fucking money
<v Speaker 2>over there.
<v Speaker 3>That would be amazing, Well, it wouldn't be amazing, it
<v Speaker 3>would be tenable by much. Imagine that's not she exists
<v Speaker 3>in the game's concept.
<v Speaker 1>Right yeah, right, Like, well, let's not throw that out
<v Speaker 1>as a possibility.
<v Speaker 2>It could be happening here now. The most likely scenario
<v Speaker 2>is it is happening. It's coming. They haven't announced yet.
<v Speaker 2>Lexi and Chats. This sounds like a games Come announcement.
<v Speaker 2>Easily that could be the case. I could see that,
<v Speaker 2>but it's it's definitely a weird scenario. I also wonder
<v Speaker 2>what this will look like. I imagine tomb Raiders probably
<v Speaker 2>the right level of remaster here. Maybe you do tomb
<v Speaker 2>Raider Plus where it's like, yeah, we're gonna kind of
<v Speaker 2>recapture exactly what it looked like and then make some
<v Speaker 2>minor improvements here and there.
<v Speaker 1>Because I think those games really could use that.
<v Speaker 2>I tried to go back to the Dreamcast version of
<v Speaker 2>Soul Reaver maybe a year ago, two years ago, and
<v Speaker 2>I just could not click in any way with it.
<v Speaker 2>It's like, Okay, this just isn't gonna work. As someone
<v Speaker 2>who did not play it at the time, I'm trying
<v Speaker 2>to go back and see what TAM's always talking about,
<v Speaker 2>and it just wasn't working for me. So it's like, Okay,
<v Speaker 2>do something just facilitate people that are coming to it new.
<v Speaker 1>But I don't.
<v Speaker 2>I'm not expecting anything much more than that. This is
<v Speaker 2>not gonna be the big Boy Metro Prime sort of
<v Speaker 2>remaster and you know, obviously that has an advantage game
<v Speaker 2>that came out a few years later, even.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, we'll see.
<v Speaker 2>Does games Games Come sound right to you for this
<v Speaker 2>or do you think maybe they just like, hey, this thing.
<v Speaker 1>Got revealed, we should just get a press release out.
<v Speaker 3>Prior to that shit happened. Yeah, games Come, But it
<v Speaker 3>depends like they'll probably make a judgment call of how
<v Speaker 3>much has this actually like pushed through to the people
<v Speaker 3>who are trying to talk to, like how many people
<v Speaker 3>are reading stories about comic con statues. Yeah, games called
<v Speaker 3>maybe feels right. It all depends, like people went remaster
<v Speaker 3>and remake heavy like a couple of years ago. It
<v Speaker 3>depends what the kind of money propossession as bought it
<v Speaker 3>now to actually make the changes because to the vast
<v Speaker 3>majority of people, like on the scale of destroy all humans,
<v Speaker 3>where do you think a new A Legacy of Cane
<v Speaker 3>remaster goes? Like, Man on the Street, do we know
<v Speaker 3>anything about Legacy of Kines?
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, I don't know.
<v Speaker 2>I mean honestly, yeah, I think it's like might have
<v Speaker 2>pretty similar name recognition to destroy all Humans, but maybe
<v Speaker 2>even less in some ways because it's quite a bit older.
<v Speaker 2>So yeah, man on the street. I think you've talked
<v Speaker 2>to one hundred people, uh want? Honestly, you'd probably have
<v Speaker 2>to talk to a thousand before you talk to one
<v Speaker 2>that know knew at Soul Reaver is kind of the
<v Speaker 2>situation that it's in now. Now that's said that that
<v Speaker 2>only matters up until a point because you announce it.
<v Speaker 2>And what happens in these situations is you announce it
<v Speaker 2>and then you turn to the side because why is
<v Speaker 2>that man over there screaming? And it's tamor Hussein, And
<v Speaker 2>then his excitement gets a lot of other people excited.
<v Speaker 2>That's often how these things work. And I think that's
<v Speaker 2>totally a probably to happen here. But you know, and
<v Speaker 2>there will be a lot of people in his situation.
<v Speaker 2>They'll be gladly, will be like, here is an explainer
<v Speaker 2>about why this series matters. I still don't that doesn't
<v Speaker 2>like suddenly turn it into a massive thing, but I
<v Speaker 2>think it's a start. Now, how big of a.
<v Speaker 1>Start is that, Jordan? Is it the kind of thing
<v Speaker 1>where this leads into a new Soul Raver?
<v Speaker 3>Not in today's money, not a chance in today's money,
<v Speaker 3>because how much how much.
<v Speaker 1>Custom makes something like that? That's so extreme. Yeah.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, maybe maybe when money was free a couple of
<v Speaker 3>years ago, but not now. This is probably just a
<v Speaker 3>Embracer looks at the back catalog, does a maths problem
<v Speaker 3>of how much would it cost the versus how much
<v Speaker 3>would we get back? We own all the rights to it,
<v Speaker 3>Let's just get it done. Maybe it's like a small
<v Speaker 3>team while they while the bigger part of the team
<v Speaker 3>works on something else, Like it had a Crystal d
<v Speaker 3>logo on it. But is that just because they are
<v Speaker 3>like the part of Embrace or that owns it. A
<v Speaker 3>doubt Crystal Deer actually working on it, right, yeah, so
<v Speaker 3>god no, it's like they across a million different things
<v Speaker 3>at the minute.
<v Speaker 2>They I'm trying to do they end up selling Crystal Dynamics.
<v Speaker 2>I'm trying to remember in it.
<v Speaker 3>I think that's still part of the family.
<v Speaker 1>It's still right because yeah, right, okay, so yeah.
<v Speaker 3>Because there are they they're working on. Are they working
<v Speaker 3>on is it fable or they're.
<v Speaker 1>Working on They're they're helping with Perfect Dark.
<v Speaker 3>Yes I know it was some long running Microsoft joke, yep,
<v Speaker 3>but yeah, there in that stage.
<v Speaker 1>So people be like, no, people say that's in good shape.
<v Speaker 1>It's like, oh, yeah, that's fine.
<v Speaker 3>Sorry for Twitter clippers. Look, I'm wearing a fucking Xbox
<v Speaker 3>Life T shirt. I've spent more money on the Xbox
<v Speaker 3>than he's protected them than you have. He's a made man, everybody.
<v Speaker 3>I have an Xbox see these x right here, And
<v Speaker 3>I had this before you did. They shipped it to
<v Speaker 3>me from their house.
<v Speaker 1>That's right.
<v Speaker 2>And I got the printer of me hugging it that
<v Speaker 2>the other fans use against me sometimes.
<v Speaker 3>So yeah, ignore the fact that it's not plugged, and
<v Speaker 3>that's not relevant book. I'll plug it in when it
<v Speaker 3>has games. But yes, I think that's like a small
<v Speaker 3>kind and a small kind of a money making opportunity.
<v Speaker 3>And you know, stick these on PlayStation Xbox, stick them
<v Speaker 3>on Steam. They'll chug along for as long as you
<v Speaker 3>need and you never have to touch them again because
<v Speaker 3>we're not going to get into the stupid possession again hopefully,
<v Speaker 3>where like this gen of stuff is just completely inaccessible.
<v Speaker 2>So yeah, right, And it's the kind of thing where
<v Speaker 2>I think we are past the point where you could
<v Speaker 2>just start up one of these casually at one of
<v Speaker 2>these companies to be like, hey, here's an ip we have,
<v Speaker 2>let's just put a team on that it is. They're
<v Speaker 2>so strapped in every way. Obviously, as you mentioned, obviously
<v Speaker 2>cash is one thing, but like just time, the amount
<v Speaker 2>of time it takes to build something like this, to
<v Speaker 2>commit a team to making a soulary for when it's
<v Speaker 2>so such an unsure bet at this point, it's just
<v Speaker 2>not gonna be. They're going to say it's not worth
<v Speaker 2>it now. I think we'd be in a better healthier
<v Speaker 2>place in the industry if it's like they could find
<v Speaker 2>a way to make it worth it, like dial down
<v Speaker 2>the knobs where you need to to still make a
<v Speaker 2>game like this. I think that would be great if
<v Speaker 2>we were there. But these companies just are so afraid
<v Speaker 2>of doing that because if you don't look like you're
<v Speaker 2>keeping up with the Joneses in terms of visual fidelity
<v Speaker 2>or the amount of content or whatever the hell else
<v Speaker 2>you are, you're going to feel inadequate, and people and
<v Speaker 2>gamers might hold in on that. You never know when
<v Speaker 2>they are going to suddenly be like, oh, this is
<v Speaker 2>a cheap piece of crap, and I'm going to be
<v Speaker 2>very mad about that.
<v Speaker 3>Visual fidelity not the problem anyway. Have you heard about
<v Speaker 3>Star Wars Outlaws? Yeah, looks good. Honestly, it looks good
<v Speaker 3>enough to me. Yeah, I legally have to hold my
<v Speaker 3>tongue by would just say chill out next week that
<v Speaker 3>as I'm I can say that that as a mountain
<v Speaker 3>of content coming that will perhaps change your mind, and.
<v Speaker 2>It's not and it's not just the travelogue to Disneyland
<v Speaker 2>this time.
<v Speaker 1>So yeah, Actually.
<v Speaker 3>It was so funny because when we went through that,
<v Speaker 3>like they took us to the front of the queue,
<v Speaker 3>and all these American people were like, who are they?
<v Speaker 3>And as all these teacher lists people pet Bill obviously.
<v Speaker 1>Turn them south. I'm going an imagineer. I built this.
<v Speaker 3>Ride actually bell all of Disney Line and Walt Disney.
<v Speaker 3>Let me tell you about my political views anyway. Story
<v Speaker 3>number two.
<v Speaker 2>Almost no one on Steam has Concord on their wish list.
<v Speaker 2>This is from a Renee Leclair at Game Reactor. Earlier
<v Speaker 2>this week, we reported that Concord had a somewhat underwhelming
<v Speaker 2>open beta on Steam over the weekend, with only two
<v Speaker 2>thousand players at its peak. And it's not as if
<v Speaker 2>the news about Sony's Hero Shooter is experiencing a particularly
<v Speaker 2>positive turn. According to Insider Gaming and a bund I Think,
<v Speaker 2>actually originally came from another site. It's reported that the
<v Speaker 2>game is ranked very low on Steam's list of most
<v Speaker 2>wish listed games, with only four and twenty six wish lists.
<v Speaker 2>It holds a spot at number seven hundred and ninety
<v Speaker 2>three on the Steam wish list leaderboard. For comparison, here
<v Speaker 2>are the five other upcoming games and the respective number
<v Speaker 2>wish The number of wish lists. Blackmith Wukong has five
<v Speaker 2>hundred and sixty four thousand a wish list. Stalker two
<v Speaker 2>has two hundred and seventeen thousand, Frostpunk two as one
<v Speaker 2>hundred and thirty four thousand, Space Marine two has one
<v Speaker 2>hundred and seven thousand, and Marvel Rivals has sixty nine thousand.
<v Speaker 2>It should be noted that wish listing is not an
<v Speaker 2>indicator of how many people have pre ordered a game,
<v Speaker 2>but only how many people are following it. But of
<v Speaker 2>course it is a pretty decent indicator. It's also a
<v Speaker 2>huge into the algorithm for Steam, so there's there's like
<v Speaker 2>actual ramifications to people not wish listing. It's much less
<v Speaker 2>likely that the game will pop up in front of
<v Speaker 2>you on Steam, which will then mean let fewer people
<v Speaker 2>we'll wish list it.
<v Speaker 1>It's kind of a death spiral sort of thing, So yeah, listen.
<v Speaker 1>I played Concord Jordan.
<v Speaker 2>I thought it was fine and also was like, I'll
<v Speaker 2>probably there's some very good chance I'll never play this again.
<v Speaker 2>But I was like, I'm sure it'll find its audience.
<v Speaker 2>And now I'm not so sure. This seems real bad.
<v Speaker 1>I don't know.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, I played Concord also. I thought it was fine.
<v Speaker 3>COO enjoy the like we play the I played at
<v Speaker 3>a PlayStation where we're like sett into teams, which is
<v Speaker 3>always going to like color you experience because it's like
<v Speaker 3>it had a bit of the teamwork. Everyone was shouting
<v Speaker 3>and like having fun and stuff like that, so not
<v Speaker 3>representative of someone just playing themselves. I thought the gunplay
<v Speaker 3>was like fairly good, but there's just something. There's a
<v Speaker 3>weird like death mark above this game where like nothing
<v Speaker 3>is going for it, like Roller yesterday, and everyone was like,
<v Speaker 3>what are you doing announcing a controller for this, Like
<v Speaker 3>do you know what it reminds me of? And this
<v Speaker 3>is a really perhaps unfair comparison because we've not seen
<v Speaker 3>it release, but this is Destruction all Stars all over again.
<v Speaker 3>Like this is like a big Sony backed game that
<v Speaker 3>is going to land and you know back in the
<v Speaker 3>day they would have tried to get seventy for this,
<v Speaker 3>and it's just going to go nowhere. Like I don't
<v Speaker 3>know how they position it. They need to essentially force
<v Speaker 3>it onto people's ps fives, Like there has to be
<v Speaker 3>some engineered like if there was some geo event, like
<v Speaker 3>if the pandemic, if the pandemic happened a week Concord
<v Speaker 3>came out, it would maybe have like a split Gathian
<v Speaker 3>honeymoon pedio. It's not even going to get uh.
<v Speaker 2>I mean honest, if you like the stench of death,
<v Speaker 2>it feels like it's just walking like it feels like
<v Speaker 2>it was born and it's walking directly down the stairs
<v Speaker 2>into its like mausoleum into its grave and just is
<v Speaker 2>going to be dead.
<v Speaker 1>Uh.
<v Speaker 2>And I I get it to a point where it's like, yeah,
<v Speaker 2>another one of these. I feel that way too. I'm
<v Speaker 2>not gonna play this, but it's like I just didn't
<v Speaker 2>know that that's like how everyone felt. It's it's surprised
<v Speaker 2>me that we got to this point like where it's
<v Speaker 2>like one of these can come out. It looks expensive enough,
<v Speaker 2>it plays good enough, and you actually know what reminds
<v Speaker 2>me of the most other than what you mentioned is
<v Speaker 2>what what what did the game with the Saints after
<v Speaker 2>Saints Row four was the game they did.
<v Speaker 3>Aw Agents of Mayhem.
<v Speaker 2>Agents of Mayhem is whatever reminds me of is hey
<v Speaker 2>a team that knows how to make games and put
<v Speaker 2>a bunch of like elements together and they and they
<v Speaker 2>made what is extensibly a big blockbuster video game that
<v Speaker 2>in any other time before Agents of Mayhem came out
<v Speaker 2>would have just automatically done well enough. And I remember
<v Speaker 2>when that game came out and I was looking at
<v Speaker 2>the MPD chart and it's like that then like launched
<v Speaker 2>it like sixteenth on the chart or something like that,
<v Speaker 2>and it was like, oh, that's not good. That's every
<v Speaker 2>other game like this always just automatically and something in
<v Speaker 2>the top five.
<v Speaker 1>It had a little bit of.
<v Speaker 2>A marketing budget, it looks expensive. They just like go
<v Speaker 2>there automatically and like no, suddenly that's over. And it's
<v Speaker 2>been like that since, where it's like that is a
<v Speaker 2>huge risk now because you could end up in an
<v Speaker 2>Agency Mayhem situation. Now I think we've done that with
<v Speaker 2>multiplayer games. These multiplayer games like that have a lot
<v Speaker 2>of budget behind them, look like they should just find
<v Speaker 2>an audience.
<v Speaker 1>The audience is kind of.
<v Speaker 2>Busy and over it, and that that's maybe more scary
<v Speaker 2>than anything else, because I mean, the agents mayhem thing like, yeah,
<v Speaker 2>we could see its problems here. It's like, I don't know,
<v Speaker 2>I feel like someone should care about this game.
<v Speaker 3>Are we looking too much into the Steam element of
<v Speaker 3>this completely forgetting that it's like mainly a place it's possible.
<v Speaker 2>But it's just like, I mean, there's a reason they're
<v Speaker 2>putting the game on on Steam day one.
<v Speaker 1>There's a reason that they do this.
<v Speaker 2>And it's because what Look what happened with Hell Divers two,
<v Speaker 2>and look what continues to have with that happened with
<v Speaker 2>Hell Divers too. While the people will point out like
<v Speaker 2>it's it's player numbers have dropped a lot, sure, it
<v Speaker 2>still has way more players, seemingly on Steam than it
<v Speaker 2>does on PlayStation. So now, of course, I think maybe
<v Speaker 2>the argument there is Hell Divers two feels very much
<v Speaker 2>like the game the PC audience, the Steam audience would
<v Speaker 2>be into, and Concord maybe does not. I I don't
<v Speaker 2>know here, if I were them, I would be shifting
<v Speaker 2>into can we just make this game feel like it
<v Speaker 2>has a decent launch so and not like try to
<v Speaker 2>win people over in the long term and be some.
<v Speaker 1>Sort of.
<v Speaker 2>Ongoing hobby. And I think they were beginning to make
<v Speaker 2>overtures in that direction by saying, hey, there's not gonna
<v Speaker 2>be a battle pass, right, They're like, this is We're
<v Speaker 2>not trying to be a game that owns your life
<v Speaker 2>or anything like that. It's okay again, I like hearing that,
<v Speaker 2>but that's still not winning me over with this. I
<v Speaker 2>don't know if I'm in their situation. I don't know
<v Speaker 2>what to do here.
<v Speaker 3>I can't believe it's not on PlayStation Plus day one.
<v Speaker 3>That seems like the most obvious thing. Yeah, in the world. Honestly,
<v Speaker 3>what this is like a kind of a cheat way
<v Speaker 3>to do it. But I don't think it would be
<v Speaker 3>the worst thing in the world if they were really
<v Speaker 3>really invested in this too. Along with Astro, just pre
<v Speaker 3>installed on PS fives going forward, so that when people
<v Speaker 3>get their PS fives they can have a look at Astro,
<v Speaker 3>they can have a look at Concord while other stuff's downloading,
<v Speaker 3>Like you need to force it into people's hands because
<v Speaker 3>when you look at it, you're like, what the fuck
<v Speaker 3>is this? Like I've I don't know what I'm doing,
<v Speaker 3>but if it's on your PlayStation and you can just
<v Speaker 3>be like, oh, I got I've got a shooting game
<v Speaker 3>to try as well as this like little platform or
<v Speaker 3>game that could be something. But I'm it's just a
<v Speaker 3>really strange situation. It's like Sony lucked into hell Divers
<v Speaker 3>being their live service head, and now that's live service
<v Speaker 3>game that they're really like putting their their effort into.
<v Speaker 3>They must know that there's like a kind of the
<v Speaker 3>word of mouth. The optics are under are absolutely terrible
<v Speaker 3>at the minute, and I don't know how you reverse
<v Speaker 3>course on that.
<v Speaker 2>No, yep, And once again, I'll say it every time
<v Speaker 2>a story like this comes up. Jim Ryan got out
<v Speaker 2>while the getting was good.
<v Speaker 3>My fucking mind.
<v Speaker 1>Jimmy knew the score, he knew what was happening. He
<v Speaker 1>was in the lead, and he left, and then you
<v Speaker 1>blew the lead after I left. Weird.
<v Speaker 3>I mean, it came into the Sony studios and they said,
<v Speaker 3>this game seems to look shit. I'm going home.
<v Speaker 1>It was gone, So I'm I'm gonna go have a biscuit.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, it's it's it's rough over there where you know,
<v Speaker 2>It's rough everywhere in games right now, but it's like
<v Speaker 2>PlayStation is supposed to be the one that seems to
<v Speaker 2>have it all figured out, and then they end up
<v Speaker 2>in situations like this because that's just how gaming goes.
<v Speaker 1>It's like, I.
<v Speaker 3>Feel pretty good about what they have after Concord.
<v Speaker 2>Definitely, but they have several other live service games also
<v Speaker 2>in the works, and it's like, who knows what's gonna
<v Speaker 2>happen with any of those. I think it'll be somewhere
<v Speaker 2>between Concord and how the average two going forward. Sure,
<v Speaker 2>but it's the fact that this happened once, it could
<v Speaker 2>happen again with another game.
<v Speaker 1>So yeah, it's rough out.
<v Speaker 3>There because I'm like super bowled in a lot while ago.
<v Speaker 3>I like basically jotted down what they have based on
<v Speaker 3>what I know and what you can like reasonably reasonably expect,
<v Speaker 3>and it looks great. They're just not at a point
<v Speaker 3>to talk about basically any of it, right. Yeah, Like
<v Speaker 3>there their twenty twenty six and twenty twenty seven are
<v Speaker 3>probably gonna be fucking fantastic, but it's just getting.
<v Speaker 2>There right and then and then that the the frustrating
<v Speaker 2>part is like we can have a couple of years
<v Speaker 2>that feel like they don't have a lot.
<v Speaker 3>It's like it's a weird year to put the PRO
<v Speaker 3>and I'll say it up, yes, oh yes.
<v Speaker 1>I am very curious to see what the messaging is
<v Speaker 1>around the PRO. When it comes to games, it's almost
<v Speaker 1>certainly gonna be some It's probably gonna be Spider like
<v Speaker 1>Spider Man, Like, here's like an updated version of Spider Man,
<v Speaker 1>because that's the shit you people buy. Yeah, it.
<v Speaker 2>The reality is, you know, we're gonna have a generation
<v Speaker 2>where it's like very possible that like Naughty Dog goes
<v Speaker 2>through the whole thing without releasing another game for this
<v Speaker 2>generation like that, that feels possible.
<v Speaker 1>That's not Yeah, I think they just about squeak it.
<v Speaker 1>But yes, exactly, it's on the edge. It's very close.
<v Speaker 2>That's why it's possible because you know, one cataclysmic thing happens,
<v Speaker 2>it gets pushed a couple like a year out, and
<v Speaker 2>then it misses this generation that you know. The point there, though,
<v Speaker 2>is it's like just these things are taking so long
<v Speaker 2>that we do get gap years like this where it's like, hey, listen,
<v Speaker 2>I'm more excited about Astrobot than anything else. But that
<v Speaker 2>is not what that audience was asking for mostly. So, yeah,
<v Speaker 2>Concord is still coming out August sixth or I'm sorry,
<v Speaker 2>it's like it's twenty six something like that. I think
<v Speaker 2>it's later in the month. Either way, people talk about, hey,
<v Speaker 2>maybe they should just delay it and change.
<v Speaker 1>Some things up. Do you think that could happen? Because
<v Speaker 1>I feel like maybe it's too late.
<v Speaker 3>It's just got to get out and at least try
<v Speaker 3>to make some money, like the count the count hold
<v Speaker 3>day any longer the closer, the longer you delay it,
<v Speaker 3>the closer you get the pods, the closer you get
<v Speaker 3>to like big game seasons. So no, it's got to
<v Speaker 3>come out of that's the same week I think that
<v Speaker 3>the PSBR stuff starts working on Steven, so I will
<v Speaker 3>be far too by looking at a lot of the
<v Speaker 3>anime tests and my very expensive headset to bother with Concord,
<v Speaker 3>I'm afraid.
<v Speaker 2>All right, let's do this next one here. Video game
<v Speaker 2>voice actors are going on strike over AI, saying enough
<v Speaker 2>is enough. This is from Claire Lewis at GameSpot SAG
<v Speaker 2>after members who work in video games have voted to
<v Speaker 2>strike due to concerns about AI. After more than a
<v Speaker 2>year and a half of unfruitful negotiations regarding the Interactive
<v Speaker 2>Media Agreement contract that many major gaming companies must stick
<v Speaker 2>to when creating big budget games. The strike will go
<v Speaker 2>into effect at midnight specific time on July twenty six,
<v Speaker 2>so that means earlier this morning.
<v Speaker 1>Any game looking to employ and.
<v Speaker 2>This is a quote, any game looking to employ sag
<v Speaker 2>after talent to perform covered work must sign onto the
<v Speaker 2>new tiered Budget Independent Interactive Media Agreement, the Interim Interactive
<v Speaker 2>Media Agreement, or the Interim Interactive Localization Agreement, reads the
<v Speaker 2>press release announcing the strike. These agreements offer critical AI
<v Speaker 2>protections for members. Sag after has been struggling to come
<v Speaker 2>to an agreement on AI usage and game development for months,
<v Speaker 2>specifically the use of AI in place of human voice
<v Speaker 2>actors and motion capture performers. In January, sag after signed
<v Speaker 2>a controversial agreement with AI voice software company Replica Studios.
<v Speaker 2>The agreement, which essentially approved AI voice acting and video games,
<v Speaker 2>was criticized by voice actors, many of whom claimed they
<v Speaker 2>were never consulted about the agreement. The convenience bargaining group
<v Speaker 2>sag after is currently negotiating with includes the following game Studios,
<v Speaker 2>Activision Line, The Light, LLC, Disney Character Voices Incorporated, Electronic
<v Speaker 2>Arts for mosa Insomniac, Lama Productions, Take Two Productions, Voice
<v Speaker 2>Works Productions, and WB WB Games. Excuse me, Yeah, this
<v Speaker 2>was always going to have to come to a head here, right,
<v Speaker 2>They were always going to have to like really make
<v Speaker 2>some we talk about every day on the show. Companies
<v Speaker 2>try to get away with with whatever they can get
<v Speaker 2>away with, and you know, that's just the way the
<v Speaker 2>whole system is set up. So that's the way it
<v Speaker 2>was always going to work. And they think that this
<v Speaker 2>is one that they eventually are going to be able
<v Speaker 2>to get away with, so they're going to push and
<v Speaker 2>push and push, and that leaves the voice actors with
<v Speaker 2>no other option other than to strike and say, hey, well,
<v Speaker 2>well let's see what you can do without us.
<v Speaker 1>And it's a.
<v Speaker 2>Gamble because the companies are going to be like, let's
<v Speaker 2>see what we can do without them.
<v Speaker 1>That's the whole point of this.
<v Speaker 2>But I think at the end of the day, the
<v Speaker 2>voice actors and capture performers are likely going to be
<v Speaker 2>proven right that the quality will dip because it's not
<v Speaker 2>actual people doing the work, not actual artists, I should say,
<v Speaker 2>people who actually understand performance and what that entails. And
<v Speaker 2>do you think that is something that these companies will
<v Speaker 2>give in on at some point.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, First of all, Solidadity forever up the strikers, And
<v Speaker 3>second of all, yes, they will eventually bend the knee,
<v Speaker 3>because these these actors are the lifeblood of these games.
<v Speaker 3>More and more, when these companies want to make their
<v Speaker 3>million million dollar Last of Us is in Spider Man's
<v Speaker 3>and the stuff that they can make him too, trans
<v Speaker 3>media and become franchises, et cetera, they need these people
<v Speaker 3>and AI is not there. Maybe it gets there eventually,
<v Speaker 3>but you can always tell there's always like like we've
<v Speaker 3>been doing CGI for like forty years at this point,
<v Speaker 3>and we're still at the point where it's like that
<v Speaker 3>looks a bit rough. So there's like there's a human
<v Speaker 3>element to these games now that you basically can't go without.
<v Speaker 3>This is probably a thing where the games companies also
<v Speaker 3>know this, and they're like, we're going to this fight
<v Speaker 3>is gonna happen. How can we get through it with
<v Speaker 3>we well lose this fight, what can we still get
<v Speaker 3>out of it? And I imagine unfortunately the resolution won't
<v Speaker 3>be exactly what the performers want, but it will be
<v Speaker 3>enough to like get them back to work. Yeah, I
<v Speaker 3>got the strikers.
<v Speaker 1>Yep.
<v Speaker 2>It's the story goes out and saying it's not clear
<v Speaker 2>exactly what games are going to be affected immediately, I'll
<v Speaker 2>just hit this next story real quick. Grand Theft Auto
<v Speaker 2>six is exempt from the game actor strike. This is
<v Speaker 2>from Ethan Gotch at Kotaku. This might illustrate a little
<v Speaker 2>bit about like how it's kind of difficult to navigate
<v Speaker 2>this for some actors, but they're going to try.
<v Speaker 1>Sag After.
<v Speaker 2>Game actors are currently on strike against some of the
<v Speaker 2>biggest companies in the industry over AI, but that won't
<v Speaker 2>impact the most anticipated games of twenty twenty five, Grand
<v Speaker 2>Theft Auto six. It's one of several indevelopment projects that
<v Speaker 2>is exempt from the labor actions. I can confirm GTA
<v Speaker 2>six is exempt. A spokesperson for the publishers involved in
<v Speaker 2>the dispute said, there's a basic a little note for
<v Speaker 2>games like this that sag After points out that just says,
<v Speaker 2>be careful, this is a struck company, but the game
<v Speaker 2>if you have an ongoing contract with the work on
<v Speaker 2>that game, you can do the work for that contract,
<v Speaker 2>but please think very carefully and maybe avoid signing new
<v Speaker 2>contracts to do new work. And we're kind of advising
<v Speaker 2>everyone across the board to do that. So like a
<v Speaker 2>game like that, I'm a little bit confused because it's
<v Speaker 2>like when just you t six the big one, shouldn't
<v Speaker 2>that shouldn't that be part of the strike? I don't
<v Speaker 2>know like what the strategy here is, but this is
<v Speaker 2>an example of just how a rocky of a path
<v Speaker 2>this is for some of these actors, and they're gonna
<v Speaker 2>have to check in with SAG after and be like, hey,
<v Speaker 2>can I work on this thing or not? Is this
<v Speaker 2>game like this company struck? Is this game's not struck?
<v Speaker 2>What does that mean? So we'll be a little bit
<v Speaker 2>challenging going forward, But either way, it's like the picket
<v Speaker 2>line is there and they're gonna be like, hey, don't
<v Speaker 2>cross it here or here. And that big part of
<v Speaker 2>that is it's early days, right, and we'll kind of
<v Speaker 2>see what this looks like in a couple of weeks.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah. I think obviously the first thing that the consumer
<v Speaker 3>audience to what we do thinks is okay, so what
<v Speaker 3>games does this fuck up? Which I understand that is
<v Speaker 3>a natural response to it. And Don Cheedo in the
<v Speaker 3>chat says that GT Sex might have had most of
<v Speaker 3>the voice lines by now they're they're yes for the
<v Speaker 3>big stuff, and that there's probably there's they're recording as
<v Speaker 3>much as they can right up until that has to
<v Speaker 3>go and be pressed onto discs.
<v Speaker 1>So ye, especially for a game that big.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, Yeah, all the people walking past and gone, hey
<v Speaker 3>what yo yo, I got a pizza here? That was
<v Speaker 3>a Miami person. Yeah, it's for stuff that I wonder
<v Speaker 3>if the the union that is kind of like, we
<v Speaker 3>don't want actors to get like a check against their
<v Speaker 3>name for stuff that they've already agreed to that they're
<v Speaker 3>already working on that once. If this actors working on it,
<v Speaker 3>the studio kind of has to like grind to a
<v Speaker 3>halt on it. And I don't know what the mechanics
<v Speaker 3>are for that obviously not been in that industry, but
<v Speaker 3>we both know voice actors that are now working on
<v Speaker 3>stuff that's like twenty twenty nine, someone was talking to
<v Speaker 3>me about a game that is they're working on a
<v Speaker 3>game that has planned as our next gen game, and
<v Speaker 3>I was like, what do.
<v Speaker 1>You mean, next shut up game? Don't tell me that
<v Speaker 1>I want to hear that shit.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, So it's a it's a strange situation. Honestly, when
<v Speaker 3>this came up, I was like, I bet even if
<v Speaker 3>g it was affected, Rockstar would be like, fuck you
<v Speaker 3>are still You're still coming to work, like.
<v Speaker 2>We're going to work with right, Yeah, they would try,
<v Speaker 2>And it's like then it would be up to the
<v Speaker 2>actors to not cross the picket line, right. So it's, uh, yeah,
<v Speaker 2>it's it's strange. I think it's it is going to
<v Speaker 2>be that. Like we saw this a lot with the
<v Speaker 2>recent film industry strikes of writers and actors or it
<v Speaker 2>was the directors and actors, directors and actors, and it's
<v Speaker 2>like there was a long list of production companies that
<v Speaker 2>were not struck and so that the actors were able
<v Speaker 2>to go do work for them, and some of the
<v Speaker 2>actors were able to get extra roles on those on
<v Speaker 2>those jobs so they could have some income coming in
<v Speaker 2>while they were dealing with the long period of not
<v Speaker 2>getting paid. And I think that this is an example
<v Speaker 2>of like, hey, no, you could still go get the
<v Speaker 2>complete your contract to get your money, but we want
<v Speaker 2>we still want to put a little pressure on even
<v Speaker 2>GTA six, so no new contracts, and that seems like
<v Speaker 2>a fair middle ground because I think sag After is
<v Speaker 2>probably not going to have as much money to shore
<v Speaker 2>up the lives of all of these voice actors in
<v Speaker 2>the way that they did for Hollywood actors, so it'll
<v Speaker 2>be like, Okay, yeah, we don't want to like ruin
<v Speaker 2>your income completely or like put you in violation of
<v Speaker 2>contract or something like that. And of course I think
<v Speaker 2>that that would be protected if it's an actual legally
<v Speaker 2>illegal strike. I don't think a rockstar would be able
<v Speaker 2>to sue them, but Rockstar might be like, hey, I
<v Speaker 2>hate hated working with you because you didn't come in
<v Speaker 2>just whatever, because a strike.
<v Speaker 1>I don't care about that. So you're right, maybe that's
<v Speaker 1>what's happening here.
<v Speaker 3>Give them a couple of these. Just stand there and
<v Speaker 3>give them a couple of these.
<v Speaker 1>Give them the birds. Yep, And then I saw it
<v Speaker 1>his bird.
<v Speaker 2>All right, Let's take a quick break when we get
<v Speaker 2>back a handful more headlines to get into here on
<v Speaker 2>this dregs day.
<v Speaker 1>Right after this.
<v Speaker 2>All right, here we are back at it with Jordan Midler,
<v Speaker 2>me Jeff Grubb. Let's get to this next headline, Steam
<v Speaker 2>Integration finally arrives on the ps VR two this August.
<v Speaker 2>This is from Alex Hopley at Game Reactor. Sony's latest
<v Speaker 2>foray into the VR world didn't exactly get off to
<v Speaker 2>the best of starts. For the price of more than
<v Speaker 2>a ps five, you could get a machine that has
<v Speaker 2>even less games on it. The headset didn't sell didn't
<v Speaker 2>sell well off the bat, but now a big change
<v Speaker 2>could be coming to Bolstert's library. Steam Integration will arrive
<v Speaker 2>on the PSVR two from the sixth of August, according
<v Speaker 2>to a new Steam page for the PSVR two app.
<v Speaker 2>This means that you'll be able to finally connect your
<v Speaker 2>Steam library to your headset, so long as you have
<v Speaker 2>a PC adapter that's also coming in August. That is,
<v Speaker 2>the adapter weirdly releases one day after the Steam app
<v Speaker 2>on the seventh of August.
<v Speaker 1>While this will allow you to play a lot more.
<v Speaker 2>VR games on your expensive headset, we're not sure whether
<v Speaker 2>it's enough to change or to attract new buyers. Also,
<v Speaker 2>a bunch of features won't work, like the eye tracking stuff.
<v Speaker 2>I don't know if that works.
<v Speaker 3>So it's like like rumble loads of really good stuff.
<v Speaker 2>Things that make that headset worth the price you have
<v Speaker 2>to pay for it won't work.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, I mean this is a band aid on the bleeding.
<v Speaker 1>It's not meant to reverse the situation.
<v Speaker 2>It's just meant to like, maybe we can get a
<v Speaker 2>few more of these headsets out of the warehouse. I
<v Speaker 2>think you are going to check this out, you said,
<v Speaker 2>though you're curious about this.
<v Speaker 3>I want to check out the weird stuff definitely. Like
<v Speaker 3>I've played all the like I have. There'sally ten the
<v Speaker 3>odd headsets in less house, so I'm not stock for
<v Speaker 3>ways to play Half Life Alex, but I want to
<v Speaker 3>see how it works. The PSVR two is currently like
<v Speaker 3>two hundred and fifty quid off in the UK today.
<v Speaker 3>People are like they are like trying to get it out.
<v Speaker 3>Clearly it's the biggest discount they've ever had, and it's
<v Speaker 3>very unsoony to discount or stuff like that, especially over here.
<v Speaker 3>So yeah, I'm glad they did this. It's a nice
<v Speaker 3>little it's like a sunset and move almost. It's just
<v Speaker 3>like we hardly knew you PSVR two. That prediction I
<v Speaker 3>made on this show that the biggest game they ever
<v Speaker 3>make for it was the launch game Horizon seems to
<v Speaker 3>have been absolutely correct. As soon as Astro had nothing
<v Speaker 3>to do with it, I was like, that's it. Uh huh,
<v Speaker 3>we are done right.
<v Speaker 2>I mean I had a pretty good idea that it
<v Speaker 2>wasn't gonna have anything to do with it but ahead
<v Speaker 2>of time.
<v Speaker 1>But I'm like, they'll probably sneak emode in and it's.
<v Speaker 2>Like, I don't know her VR never even spoke to
<v Speaker 2>that woman in my life like that situation, Like, Okay,
<v Speaker 2>we're done here.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah.
<v Speaker 2>I'm like I would always speculate, Hey, they they could
<v Speaker 2>do this.
<v Speaker 1>But it'd be really hard.
<v Speaker 2>You would need a dongle because you to connect it
<v Speaker 2>to the GPU and all these issues. And it's like, well,
<v Speaker 2>they solved all that, and they still couldn't get everything working,
<v Speaker 2>but whatever they did solve it enough to get the
<v Speaker 2>PSVR two to work on PC and now we're here,
<v Speaker 2>and it's like, yeah, to what end really, at least
<v Speaker 2>from PlayStation's perspective, because this is not going to lead
<v Speaker 2>to them selling more software, which was you know, it's
<v Speaker 2>kind of always the point with video game devices. It
<v Speaker 2>was like, yeah, you sell the hardware and then you
<v Speaker 2>want to sell a lot of software. You know, sell
<v Speaker 2>person at least three, four or five games so that
<v Speaker 2>it makes sense to all this effort you went through
<v Speaker 2>in research and development for a product like this. But
<v Speaker 2>I think that they are past that point of thinking.
<v Speaker 2>They are past the point of like this is going
<v Speaker 2>to be a going concern for us. In fact, I
<v Speaker 2>think they were past that point pretty early on after
<v Speaker 2>the PSVR two launched, And so it's always been what
<v Speaker 2>can we do to like kind of get this thing
<v Speaker 2>out of our system and then move on from it,
<v Speaker 2>And that's what this is.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, they'll get by your fresh to fy like accessities
<v Speaker 3>do make money for them. They make a ton of
<v Speaker 3>money off of controllers and stuff like that, Like the
<v Speaker 3>Due says Edge, as much as people made fun of
<v Speaker 3>it has made them a lot of money. I mean
<v Speaker 3>I have one right here, I have the paddles on it,
<v Speaker 3>but I don't use them for anything. Rather, I just
<v Speaker 3>like to click on them. Sure they've just got a.
<v Speaker 1>Nice Yeah you got the attention is you're kind of like, yeah, absolutely.
<v Speaker 3>But the VR is just a step too far. Like
<v Speaker 3>when you're asking console money for something like that, people
<v Speaker 3>aren't going to fuck with it.
<v Speaker 2>So yeah, people just see how they can use a
<v Speaker 2>controller R a big expensive controller, like like, O, hell, yeah,
<v Speaker 2>that's an investments I play so many games, I'm gonna
<v Speaker 2>use that on everything. And you just can't make that
<v Speaker 2>argument to yourself with PSBR two.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, it's increding. The chat PlayStation Portal rise up. Fuck yeah.
<v Speaker 3>The PSP, the PlayStation portal. It's one of the best
<v Speaker 3>things they've done in ages. You can make fun of it,
<v Speaker 3>but it works perfectly and my partners the PSP, I
<v Speaker 3>really enjoy it. As the PSP. It's the PlayStation portal.
<v Speaker 2>It's the PlayStation portal. I have the PlayStation portal too.
<v Speaker 2>It's called the Steam deck with Chiacky on. It has
<v Speaker 2>HDR support and all this shit. It's pretty cool.
<v Speaker 1>Try her try that sometimes.
<v Speaker 2>That's the thing no one does, is it attracts women
<v Speaker 2>and fans because I'm so cool. They're like look at me, like, hey,
<v Speaker 2>look at this guy with this chockey for deck on
<v Speaker 2>the Steam den.
<v Speaker 1>Is that shockey for deck you have over there, Yes, ma'am,
<v Speaker 1>it is.
<v Speaker 3>That's where the role screaming at yet summer getting fast.
<v Speaker 1>That's right.
<v Speaker 3>That's why you don't go to Jeff Show like any
<v Speaker 3>of the days, because you were just beating off of
<v Speaker 3>the women.
<v Speaker 1>That's right, That's what I had to do exactly. Just
<v Speaker 1>you go there one day, you get it. You know,
<v Speaker 1>you know what's going on there.
<v Speaker 3>All right.
<v Speaker 2>Bioshocked Netflix movie scaled back now a more personal film.
<v Speaker 2>This is from Eddie mccooitt Game Spot. Netflix movie based
<v Speaker 2>on the BioShock game series remains in the works, but
<v Speaker 2>it's undergoing significant changes. Producer Roy Lee Seddik San Diego
<v Speaker 2>Comic Con that the project is still alive, but has
<v Speaker 2>been reconfigured to become a quote, more personal film. Francis
<v Speaker 2>Lawrence Dunger Games is still on board to direct.
<v Speaker 1>Lee said. The recent changes at Netflix, where Dan Lynn.
<v Speaker 2>Replaced Scott Steuberts, the company's top movie boss, has resulted
<v Speaker 2>in the reduced budget for the BioShock movie. The new
<v Speaker 2>regime has to lower the budgets, we said, as reported
<v Speaker 2>by Variety, So we're doing a much smaller version. It's
<v Speaker 2>going to be a much more personal point of view
<v Speaker 2>as opposed to a grander, big project.
<v Speaker 1>I think there's a goddamn mouth.
<v Speaker 2>I think when you're thinking of BioShock, what you want
<v Speaker 2>is small and personal and not grand. This is a
<v Speaker 2>weird one that just makes me think this movie's probably
<v Speaker 2>never gonna happen, because that's the most likely outcome for it,
<v Speaker 2>even a video game movie.
<v Speaker 3>Right Yeah. And as soon as they posted this, I
<v Speaker 3>was like, what is it just we can afford one
<v Speaker 3>beg dotty sit, that's it. You're only going to see
<v Speaker 3>it from the tub half account afford the legs. Yes,
<v Speaker 3>that's a sad. A BioShock movie should be a slum dunk.
<v Speaker 3>I would have preferred like it maybe like a Bax
<v Speaker 3>say episode CDs or something like the lead up to
<v Speaker 3>the Faller Rapture or something like that. Like, I don't know,
<v Speaker 3>when you think about BioShock, do you think about it
<v Speaker 3>in this compartmentalized way?
<v Speaker 1>I do.
<v Speaker 3>When I think about BioShock one and two, it's like,
<v Speaker 3>oh yeah, lovely rapture stuff. Then it gets to Infinite
<v Speaker 3>and I just think I enjoyed playing that game. And
<v Speaker 3>then I was very quickly informed and made a way
<v Speaker 3>of how kind of shiked it was. And now we've
<v Speaker 3>just not heard anything about BioShock and so long. Like
<v Speaker 3>it's so that felt like at the time it should
<v Speaker 3>have been the biggest thing in the world. Like after
<v Speaker 3>Infinite it was like, Okay, we'll get one on PS four,
<v Speaker 3>get another one on PS five, let's just keep on.
<v Speaker 3>You have set up a world in which we can
<v Speaker 3>make literally infinite BioShock games, and then they went no thanks.
<v Speaker 2>The BioShock Infinite is another one of those cannon events
<v Speaker 2>like Agents of Mayhem, where it was like, this is
<v Speaker 2>the future of games, and it's setting every like setting
<v Speaker 2>everything up, and this is what it's gonna be going forward.
<v Speaker 2>And then it comes out and it's like, oh boy,
<v Speaker 2>that costs more than we were expecting and it didn't
<v Speaker 2>make as much money as we were expecting, and we
<v Speaker 2>can't do that again, and h and yeah. And I
<v Speaker 2>think that's the whole story of BioShock Infinite and explains
<v Speaker 2>like kind of like what happened with the studio afterwards
<v Speaker 2>and why it's taken so long to get back to that.
<v Speaker 2>And the weird thing is it's like, well, okay, so
<v Speaker 2>the next one, just have a rain in in a
<v Speaker 2>little bit, take a little bit less time, don't work
<v Speaker 2>on it for quite as long, have a smaller team,
<v Speaker 2>and it's like, no, we're gonna work on that next
<v Speaker 2>one for fucking forever. It's been like years and years
<v Speaker 2>and years of like hear in the background of that
<v Speaker 2>game's coming. Could get it out so soon?
<v Speaker 3>And have you seen the thing that we've all seen
<v Speaker 3>for all that game from ages and ages ago?
<v Speaker 1>I think so, I can vaguely remember. Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
<v Speaker 1>totally yeah.
<v Speaker 3>Do you think that game that game exists?
<v Speaker 2>I don't see the right. I don't know if the
<v Speaker 2>game that we eventually get is yet.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, all right, like Obama, yeah yeah, Obama references in
<v Speaker 3>this podcast.
<v Speaker 1>We need more. I don't think you've quite hit the
<v Speaker 1>quota yet. Yeah, right.
<v Speaker 2>I think this is a situation where it's like the
<v Speaker 2>thing that we eventually see is very different than the
<v Speaker 2>thing that we have we once saw.
<v Speaker 1>Because it's been so long, it's.
<v Speaker 2>Like maybe they reworked a lot of stuff. I don't know.
<v Speaker 2>I'm personally not ever like thinking about BioShock all that much.
<v Speaker 2>They have not given me a lot of reasons to
<v Speaker 2>think about BioShock. I thought Infinite was okay to play,
<v Speaker 2>and uh, kind of a cowardly game in.
<v Speaker 1>A lot of ways with the story. Uh, that doesn't
<v Speaker 1>I don't think that really is going to hang much
<v Speaker 1>of a chain around this next game. I don't think
<v Speaker 1>that matters so much because they can really just reset things.
<v Speaker 1>You give a fun new setting a trailer with a
<v Speaker 1>reworked pop song, and people will be like, Okay, what
<v Speaker 1>was it going to be?
<v Speaker 3>Was it going to going to be?
<v Speaker 2>I think I think if there's a point in time
<v Speaker 2>where it would have been a reworked like Michael Jackson songs,
<v Speaker 2>I think they're like, let's move ahead in time a
<v Speaker 2>little bit. But now they can't do Michael Jackson, so
<v Speaker 2>maybe something else from that era. Wham, It'll be a
<v Speaker 2>Wham song.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, like I really slow, like wake me up?
<v Speaker 1>Yeah.
<v Speaker 3>And then when it has thought it caused like boom yeah.
<v Speaker 2>And then and then it's like before you go go,
<v Speaker 2>it's like, oh my god, yeah there it.
<v Speaker 3>Is, George cool god rest. Absolutely it was a real one.
<v Speaker 3>I thought it just to pause. Please ghost tack today?
<v Speaker 3>What happened to MG? This podcast is on the internet right,
<v Speaker 3>just another pub and google Michael Jackson.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, there's a several documentaries about it. Yeah, listen. I
<v Speaker 2>don't have much of an opinion on it. I don't
<v Speaker 2>think about Michael Jackson all that much either, But I'm
<v Speaker 2>just saying a corporation is not going to be like
<v Speaker 2>let's use Michael Jackson's song.
<v Speaker 1>That's all alright, let's see here.
<v Speaker 2>Epic removes Fortnite from mobile app stores to prepare for
<v Speaker 2>its own store launch. From Sophie McAvoy at Games Industry
<v Speaker 2>app Is, Epic Games is pulling Fortnite and other games
<v Speaker 2>from mobile app stores ahead of the launch of its
<v Speaker 2>its own digital storefront on iOS and Android. In an announcement,
<v Speaker 2>the publisher said it would be ending distribution partnerships with
<v Speaker 2>mobile stores that quote service rent collectors without competing robustly, robustly,
<v Speaker 2>robustly and serving all developers fairly. Even if those stores
<v Speaker 2>offer a special deal on in our own games, they're
<v Speaker 2>just going back to doing their thing of like selling
<v Speaker 2>their their games and their own app And didn't you
<v Speaker 2>know they've done this before on Android and no one
<v Speaker 2>was like, no one cared. But I think there's a
<v Speaker 2>chance to get these stores onto like the play store
<v Speaker 2>and iOS store going forward. I think that's what they're
<v Speaker 2>hoping to do with like but with the help of
<v Speaker 2>regulators and so that could change things a lot. But
<v Speaker 2>either way that they're going to be able to sideload
<v Speaker 2>these things onto these devices that is required now by
<v Speaker 2>most regulation, and that's what Epic has always wanted, And yeah,
<v Speaker 2>I mean that's what they've been doing on PC and
<v Speaker 2>Epic Game Store always just feels like a big money sink,
<v Speaker 2>and I feel like on mobile it's got to be
<v Speaker 2>even more difficult to change people's behavior.
<v Speaker 1>Do you think this works this time?
<v Speaker 3>I kind of get into the mindset of someone that
<v Speaker 3>like that is in the kind of mobio gaming space, Like,
<v Speaker 3>does this affect those people the way that when something
<v Speaker 3>is only on Epic are only on steaden people gobsltly
<v Speaker 3>batshit and like the core gaming space or do people
<v Speaker 3>just not care?
<v Speaker 2>So it's I think it does affect them in the
<v Speaker 2>same way. It doesn't manifest in the same way where
<v Speaker 2>it's like in the console space or the PC space specifically,
<v Speaker 2>that people are actively thinking about the way that that
<v Speaker 2>makes them feel that they, Hey, I have my collection
<v Speaker 2>here and I want it all to be in the
<v Speaker 2>same place. And when you when you take that away
<v Speaker 2>from me, I have this like sort of like kind
<v Speaker 2>of reaction to that. I think that people on mobile
<v Speaker 2>are are a little frustrated by that, but then they
<v Speaker 2>just they just ignore it that they're like, yeah, that
<v Speaker 2>that also frustrates me. But my response to that instead
<v Speaker 2>is then that thing doesn't exist because it's all about
<v Speaker 2>like the path of Least Resistance. It's all about just
<v Speaker 2>like there's a million free games here in front of me,
<v Speaker 2>I'll just go get a different one. So I it's
<v Speaker 2>coming from the same place. It just manifests differently.
<v Speaker 3>I think, Yeah, I can't wait for all that stuff
<v Speaker 3>to be finished. I'm like a hit in tim Sweeney
<v Speaker 3>talk about fucking mobile.
<v Speaker 1>I'm just it's like every time it's like, oh, they're
<v Speaker 1>texting us, It's like, no, that's not what a tax
<v Speaker 1>is only what what are you talking about?
<v Speaker 3>Do you know what Tim Sweeney should do? And I'm
<v Speaker 3>not just saying this because I was at Diguel Extremes
<v Speaker 3>the other way show Climb a Tree. They should team
<v Speaker 3>up with Aguel Extremes and make a new Unreal Tournament.
<v Speaker 3>Come on now, starting today, my promise as vice president
<v Speaker 3>elect for Kamala Harris is to start a new Unreal
<v Speaker 3>Tournament foundation. We'll get a new game every year. It's
<v Speaker 3>gonna be great.
<v Speaker 1>What is this, Sean just put a new EMO into
<v Speaker 1>the chat?
<v Speaker 3>Is this is this? Some as frost Moth the Pokemon
<v Speaker 3>I'm glad you went for frost Moth and not venom off,
<v Speaker 3>because most people would go venom off, but we've went
<v Speaker 3>straight for throst Moth. Good good, good, good, good good.
<v Speaker 1>I don't have to put up with this ship. This sucks. Uh.
<v Speaker 1>Speak of Pokemon.
<v Speaker 2>The Pokemon Company banked at ten point eight billion dollars
<v Speaker 2>in retail sales last year. This is from William Dolan,
<v Speaker 2>and it Tindo life. The Pokemon Company has plenty of
<v Speaker 2>huge money makers thanks to Jordan Midler, who has spent
<v Speaker 2>most of that ten point eight billion dollars on merch.
<v Speaker 3>Uh.
<v Speaker 1>This does put it like in the top ten global licensers. Uh.
<v Speaker 2>And actually, like, for example, the Walt Disney Company has
<v Speaker 2>has made like sixty two point or sixty two billion
<v Speaker 2>dollars from similar retail sales, and then the Pokemon Company
<v Speaker 2>International's made ten point eight billion, and it's like the Disney, Well,
<v Speaker 2>Disney's got so many brands and Pokemon's just got Pokemon.
<v Speaker 1>And I'd like that ten point eight billion.
<v Speaker 3>You know, it's the name on the street as Pocket Monsters, undefeated, undefeatable.
<v Speaker 3>This is great news from my favorite media property, like
<v Speaker 3>the Lot everyone's known for the longest time. It is
<v Speaker 3>the most successful media property and the history of the
<v Speaker 3>human race.
<v Speaker 1>We have talked about it can't have breaks.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, and not just because of me, because of lots
<v Speaker 3>of people. But I I can't believe that they haven't
<v Speaker 3>opened more Pokemon exclusive retail locations outside of Japan, Like
<v Speaker 3>there's a couple of them, but the fact that there's
<v Speaker 3>none in America is unbelievable. So, speaking to people who know,
<v Speaker 3>or at least we're privy to conversations, there was chat
<v Speaker 3>about doing it in London. It seemed like because Pokemon
<v Speaker 3>as a brand is under game Freak and Creatures and
<v Speaker 3>Nintendo getting anything moving with it outside of their homeland
<v Speaker 3>is a nightmare. But yeah, I think retail locations, and
<v Speaker 3>I would bet money the universal is like, please God,
<v Speaker 3>let us make a Fame park because it will be
<v Speaker 3>the most successful theme park in the world.
<v Speaker 1>Yep.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, And they're like, just Nintendo, please just go to
<v Speaker 2>use your influence with the Pokemon company to make this happen.
<v Speaker 2>And you're one hundred percent right that those conversations are
<v Speaker 2>happening right now. Whether it's courting anything is who knows.
<v Speaker 3>Team up with Niantic make a version of go that
<v Speaker 3>only works in the park and make bigger and better.
<v Speaker 3>It's game over like it will be unbelievable. Sell kind
<v Speaker 3>of like so in the Star Wars Team Park, you
<v Speaker 3>can't dress up in like full costumes because people because
<v Speaker 3>they worry that kids will come up to them and
<v Speaker 3>be like, oh, you're fucking Manchoda, et cetera. But sell
<v Speaker 3>trainer like attire, sell the little poke balls for yourself.
<v Speaker 3>These millennial freaks me included, will go crazy for that shit.
<v Speaker 3>Like the meet and greets are just the character they
<v Speaker 3>like the Pokemon in the costumes. Japan already has lovely
<v Speaker 3>looking the Pokemon costumes. The Peakachus are so fucking cute,
<v Speaker 3>like the the Pokemon Team Park will be unbelievable when
<v Speaker 3>it happens, like it's going to be that Super Mario
<v Speaker 3>Park on steroids, on Mike Minotti's steroids. But they're very
<v Speaker 3>protective of Pokemon. There have never been more protected of
<v Speaker 3>Pokemon as a brand, as a franchise.
<v Speaker 1>So and and we'll see and part of them, part
<v Speaker 1>of them is right because they for as many mistakes
<v Speaker 1>as they might make with both Pokemon and the games,
<v Speaker 1>there is something that they like magical that they figured
<v Speaker 1>out with Pokemon. Like you mentioned like millennials, and it's like, uh.
<v Speaker 2>Millennials get made fun of for like, oh my god,
<v Speaker 2>they still talk about their Harry Potter house and stuff
<v Speaker 2>like that, and rightfully so, uh but but then if
<v Speaker 2>you start talking about those kids, they are making fun
<v Speaker 2>of them and be like, well, what's your Pokemon starter?
<v Speaker 1>All those kids are on board. Suddenly it is.
<v Speaker 2>Crossed those generations with ease, and it makes every other
<v Speaker 2>brand that has sort of struggled with that to uh
<v Speaker 2>to kind of look silly in a lot of ways.
<v Speaker 2>And obviously there's a lot of kids who are into
<v Speaker 2>fucking all kinds stuff Hary Potter, Star Wars and all
<v Speaker 2>that stuff, but Pokemon just gets them instantaneously.
<v Speaker 3>So just possed. Yeah, my little cousin who's like ten
<v Speaker 3>hard dods texts me pictures of herd like buying the
<v Speaker 3>same packs of cards that I'm buying, Like I'm sending
<v Speaker 3>our photos of like the Plush collection and when I
<v Speaker 3>went to the Pokemon Company and all that stuff, and
<v Speaker 3>it's all it all just works the same way that
<v Speaker 3>it's always worked. Like I think people mistake the fact
<v Speaker 3>that it's never been Pokemania ever again. But that is impossible, right.
<v Speaker 3>We actually kind of got close to it again in
<v Speaker 3>twenty sixteen. What happened that three year period when it
<v Speaker 3>really launched was like unlike that was like when Star
<v Speaker 3>Wars first came out. That's like unprecedented. It's still absolutely massive.
<v Speaker 3>The games like iven of the top ten selling Switch
<v Speaker 3>games or Pokemon games, like, I think you're going to
<v Speaker 3>see something really special in two years, because twenty twenty
<v Speaker 3>six will be the thirtieth anniversary of the franchise and
<v Speaker 3>they're going to do some mega mega shit for it.
<v Speaker 3>I am convinced, and I've said this elsewhere, that they're
<v Speaker 3>going to re release the original Pokemon cards and identical
<v Speaker 3>packaging to what they had when they first launched. All
<v Speaker 3>they need to do is put a stamp on the
<v Speaker 3>actual cards denoting that their thirtieth anniversary. So one fuck
<v Speaker 3>with the market in any way. But anyone who is
<v Speaker 3>fourteen below walks into like a Walmart and sees a
<v Speaker 3>standy of those and goes, oh my god, I used
<v Speaker 3>to buy those. Let me get a couple of packs.
<v Speaker 3>They're right back in.
<v Speaker 2>Is that are they the ones that did or is
<v Speaker 2>this magic that had that like two hundred and fifty
<v Speaker 2>dollars collector set of like the really expensive original set
<v Speaker 2>of cards, maybe the name.
<v Speaker 3>So Pokemon had. Yeah, that was like they did that
<v Speaker 3>last year that the box turned into like an arena
<v Speaker 3>to play the trading card game they had. It was
<v Speaker 3>the same art, but they had gold borders and they
<v Speaker 3>were like slightly different. Yeah, they've re released those original
<v Speaker 3>cards a few times, but they've never done them in
<v Speaker 3>the exact same packet Yu gi oh has and that
<v Speaker 3>was a huge success for them, So I think Pokemon
<v Speaker 3>will do the same thing. I also think we get
<v Speaker 3>fill three D big scale remake of Red and Blue
<v Speaker 3>twenty six.
<v Speaker 1>Yes, I'm on board with that as well.
<v Speaker 2>Michael Michael O'Leary and Chat mentioned that it's unofficially official
<v Speaker 2>that the Pokemon is taking over the cinem since area
<v Speaker 2>of the Universal when that license runs out in twenty
<v Speaker 2>twenty eight.
<v Speaker 3>So, I mean, I love the Simpsons bagging off Ada.
<v Speaker 3>They need like, oh yeah, they need like us, they
<v Speaker 3>need a whole seting to take right.
<v Speaker 2>They don't have any room in Universal in La So
<v Speaker 2>or in southern California, so yeah, it'll be rough. But
<v Speaker 2>in the other areas and the one the park in Orlando.
<v Speaker 2>I'm sure we'll get.
<v Speaker 1>A bigger area. So there you go.
<v Speaker 3>I will be forced through the door.
<v Speaker 2>Uh yeah, that no one's forced you. Actually, that's just
<v Speaker 2>you walking through there of your own accord.
<v Speaker 1>Uh.
<v Speaker 2>That does it for the news everybody. We have a
<v Speaker 2>poll question that I will get up here in the second.
<v Speaker 2>While I'm doing that, Jordan Miller, why don't you tell
<v Speaker 2>people once again where they could find you on the internet,
<v Speaker 2>where they can give you some money and they should.

<v Speaker 3>the extended family is going to be on it. Fucking

<v Speaker 3>on the extended family of websites, et cetera, so you'll
<v Speaker 3>see all of them. Patreon dot Com, Slash Video Games Chronicle, Jeff,
<v Speaker 3>I can't stop sweating. It's so fucking warm today. Life.
<v Speaker 1>I'm never not sweating. Damn. Dann Record's like, oh I
<v Speaker 1>just don't sweat. I'm like, oh, fuck, you're salty, that right.
<v Speaker 3>So it was a long time coming, but a summer
<v Speaker 3>game fest, me and Dan finally really connected. Yeah, and
<v Speaker 3>I was like, oh, we'll talk for two seconds. We
<v Speaker 3>were speaking for like forty five minutes, talking about fucking
<v Speaker 3>wrestling all sorts of It was glorious. It was a
<v Speaker 3>real it was a real, real come to Jesus moment.
<v Speaker 3>He is a very in shape man. I could not
<v Speaker 3>believe how kind of spell and how would do you.
<v Speaker 1>Know what it is?
<v Speaker 2>Well, for first of all, he does take care of
<v Speaker 2>himself these days, he's running, he's out there. But it's
<v Speaker 2>it's the it's the invisile line. He can't eat with
<v Speaker 2>the invisil line. And so he says like he's like,
<v Speaker 2>I would always snack on Skittles and stuff and Star
<v Speaker 2>Wars because I just love that ship. But now if
<v Speaker 2>I want to do that, I gotta take this shit
<v Speaker 2>out and deal with all that. I'm like, oh, yeah,
<v Speaker 2>of course that would be the same thing for me, Like,
<v Speaker 2>because I'm just mindlessly snacking all day, I gotta get
<v Speaker 2>some invisil line in my life.
<v Speaker 3>No, he's a he's a he's a shoot very pretty man.
<v Speaker 3>And honestly, again to be able to talk with him was, oh,
<v Speaker 3>he's a great, fun sweet boy. We need to we
<v Speaker 3>need to find a way to all see each other.
<v Speaker 3>That's not just fucking summer game first, Like I'm going
<v Speaker 3>to come out for game awards.
<v Speaker 2>But go to the Olympics, Olympics esports in Saudi Arabia.
<v Speaker 3>I mean, I'm not going to call out on Saudi
<v Speaker 3>Arabia because I don't want beheaded.
<v Speaker 1>Sure if you want. Yeah, I think I'm pretty safe
<v Speaker 1>in my mind. Look, come get you all right. Here's
<v Speaker 1>the poll question, how do you feel about Battle Passes?
<v Speaker 2>One percent love them, twenty percent like them, fifty three
<v Speaker 2>percent dislike, and twenty six percent hate them. I was
<v Speaker 2>looking at the comments too. A lot of people are like, look,
<v Speaker 2>I most games.
<v Speaker 1>It feels like a chore. If I really am.
<v Speaker 2>Spending a lot of time on a game, anyhow, I
<v Speaker 2>like to have it, But no one loves battle passes.
<v Speaker 2>I feel like this is like the correct like bell
<v Speaker 2>curve for this though.
<v Speaker 1>Let me bring up the visual here for everybody.
<v Speaker 2>Where it's while this doesn't look great, the only one
<v Speaker 2>percent of them, of course they don't. We all know
<v Speaker 2>what's going on here. This is them just trying to
<v Speaker 2>extract more money from us. And it's the replacement for
<v Speaker 2>loot boxes, which would have had a much worse spell
<v Speaker 2>curve than this by a long shot.
<v Speaker 3>And like people are more fun. I preferred boxes. I'm
<v Speaker 3>not joking, no, I thought.
<v Speaker 1>And you're not alone. I know some people who do.
<v Speaker 1>But let's be real, it would have a worse bell
<v Speaker 1>curve than this.
<v Speaker 2>Like, yes, the hatred for those were off the chart,
<v Speaker 2>and I think that these companies are Okay, you know what,
<v Speaker 2>we'll settle for this, even though there's going to be
<v Speaker 2>some pushback like Concord.
<v Speaker 1>Like we're not gonna have a battle pass. We don't
<v Speaker 1>want to be that for you.
<v Speaker 2>I don't think that's going to get quite as much
<v Speaker 2>love as when people are like, we're not gonna have
<v Speaker 2>loot boxes. It's it's not the same thing. Most people
<v Speaker 2>have settled into accepting battle passes for what they are.
<v Speaker 2>All Right, A new poll question, have you ever played
<v Speaker 2>a legacy of Kine Slash Soulery for game?
<v Speaker 1>Yes or no?
<v Speaker 2>We'll discuss that on game on Giant Bomb on Monday
<v Speaker 2>Speaking a Giant Bomb later today and about an hour
<v Speaker 2>after this show ends, if you're watching live, we have
<v Speaker 2>anime party party, uh, a Demon Slayer. Demon Slayer Party.
<v Speaker 2>There's a Mario party game based on Demon Slayer. Basically,
<v Speaker 2>we're gonna play that.
<v Speaker 1>I don't know.
<v Speaker 2>Dan's made me, making me downloaded on my switch. That's
<v Speaker 2>what's happening today, So good luck to me trying to
<v Speaker 2>survive that.
<v Speaker 1>That'll be for UPF We'll have a BCR after that.
<v Speaker 2>Where we'll probably talk about some of these games we've
<v Speaker 2>been playing, including like Marvel Rivals, which actually did have
<v Speaker 2>some fun with uh.
<v Speaker 1>Just lower speed.
<v Speaker 2>It's all right, right, yeah I had fun. Like that's
<v Speaker 2>I mean, I'm not again another one. I'm probably not
<v Speaker 2>gonna play a lot more of.
<v Speaker 1>Magic.
<v Speaker 2>She was absolutely I crush, there's a good like that
<v Speaker 2>video is like me trying out a bunch of characters
<v Speaker 2>kind of getting wrecked a lot of times because I'm
<v Speaker 2>not sure how to use them, and then I got
<v Speaker 2>Magic and I held the point by myself for the
<v Speaker 2>whole last five minutes of the game.
<v Speaker 1>Basically it was so I'm like, okay, well that felt good.
<v Speaker 1>And that's where when you like, when you have moments
<v Speaker 1>like that, it's easy to be like, well that was fun.
<v Speaker 1>That was great.
<v Speaker 2>It's low stakes, is how I would describe that game, though,
<v Speaker 2>because that's not I'm not going to invest a lot
<v Speaker 2>of mind sharing too thinking about Marvel Rivals or something
<v Speaker 2>like that.
<v Speaker 1>It's also free to play, so it's gonna be there
<v Speaker 1>whatever if I ever want to play it. Really, what
<v Speaker 1>it made.
<v Speaker 2>Me do is be like, maybe I do want to
<v Speaker 2>go back to place more Overwatch, So we'll see that's
<v Speaker 2>the seconder.
<v Speaker 3>And then today they're like, oh, maybe we're bringing back
<v Speaker 3>sex be sex. Yeah, it's like, how about you bring
<v Speaker 3>back over Watch, motherfucking one? Take out all these new categories.
<v Speaker 3>I don't have a shit. Yeah there, I won't the
<v Speaker 3>same way they gave us a YU classic. I want
<v Speaker 3>Overwatch twenty seventeen.
<v Speaker 1>Come on, yeah, let's go. That would be great.
<v Speaker 2>Actually, all right, I think that is most of the stuff.
<v Speaker 2>We'll be back next week. We'll get jammed back here
<v Speaker 2>so I don't have to like try to make this
<v Speaker 2>website squeak across the finish line anymore. He could do
<v Speaker 2>all that work instead until then, though, Jordan, thank you
<v Speaker 2>so much for hanging out with me today talking about
<v Speaker 2>video games.
<v Speaker 1>I really appreciate it, man.
<v Speaker 3>Anytime, Darling. I love coming on the show. I love
<v Speaker 3>hanging about with you as it's always a pleasure, and
<v Speaker 3>I feel like more and more I see giant bombers,
<v Speaker 3>which is the collective term do doors this day, I'm
<v Speaker 3>afraid and the and the VGC audience, and they're in
<v Speaker 3>our desk card talking shit about me, so I can
<v Speaker 3>get anyway I go.
<v Speaker 1>Yep.
<v Speaker 2>I appreciate I appreciate you all out there getting on him.
<v Speaker 2>You stay on him. Keep Jordan Midler honest.
