Speaker 1: Hello everyone, and welcome back to another fun episode of Bachelor Happy Hour. Now, Rachel, we've made it through another week in this quarantine, and I don't know about you, but I feel like I'm finally starting too. And I hate to say this, but like find my groove and acclimate to a new normal quote adapting, like an adapting yes. And you know, And it's funny because Garrett and I were just talking about this the other night. It's like it feels like it's been dragging on and on and like never ending, but it's also gone surprisingly fast. And I don't know if that's just because I am in such a routine. Of course, I've had my ups and downs, but I'm still trying to focus on the little things, my little winds for the day, and of course, week by week, I love recording with you. I love watching the episodes of Listening to Your Heart. I love recapping them together because it gives me something to look forward to, and hopefully for all the listeners out there, it gives you guys something to look forward to as well. And Rachel, like I said, we've been feeling these ups and downs. We've been going through the waves, through the emotions but I think we can agree that there are two major things that have definitely brought some joy and inspiration to us during this quarantine. Absolutely, Becca, I mean, I agree with you. I've definitely had my ups and downs, more ups and downs. Like like I say, if you had told me we were going to be doing this last year, I would have been like, I'm out. I'm out. I don't know where I'm going, but I'm out. But honestly, two things have just kept me saying. Besides my peloton, because that is giving me life every single day, we call ourselves the Morning Mob. We run at ten thirty Eastern time if you want to join us, But you guys are keeping me saying. The fans are listeners and of course listen to your heart. I'm so glad we have some new Bachelor content that's coming to us every single week. And I know last week we mentioned that we started our very own online communities with at Bachelor Happy Hour on Instagram and then also at Batch Happy Hour on Facebook and Twitter, and just seeing the outpour of support from you guys and talking to you guys through these platforms has really been more helpful and inspiring than I thought it would be. You know, It's like I think we're doing it for them, but I feel like they're doing it for us. And I know that we just love hearing your stories and getting your feedback, and now more than ever, it's important to just spread love. And we want to thank all of you for reaching out and continuing on this journey with us, giving us that sense of normalcy that we need through all of this. And the second thing that we also mentioned is listen to your heart, which you all know. We're loving this show. We can't wait to recap it for you guys and talk to contestants and some of the celebrity judges. It's just really been a lot of fun. And we had a new episode last night, so that means we get to break it all down on the podcast today. Oh yeah. Like I said, one of my favorite things during the week's giving me through this And we've been having so much fun with the show, and I keep saying, but week by week it is growing on me so much like at first I didn't quite know to expect. I'm sure a lot of the listeners and viewers out there were like, we don't know how this is going to work. But now that we've actually gotten into the performances and seeing the judges and of course more of the drama. I am so invested. I love it. I keep saying this, but I want to be a guest judge on season two, if there is a season two, because I am so invested. We blame Garrett. We blamed Garrett. I don't know if the listeners have heard the story, but I blame Garrett because we were asked. He was also very drunk when we were to be guest judges and he's like, Noah, like, we don't need to be on TV. We're good, and now we watch it back week by week and he's like, damn it. I wish I would have said, yes, I'm because it's an experience. It's just an experience. And I think for him, like he's like, I don't know music that well, and I think he would have felt bad judging. But like you said, it's just fun, Like it's lighthearted, and I love the fact that we pair familiar faces from the show with artists and like people who have been in that world to give a different sort of feedback and viewpoint on the performances. I mean, I love it. So this week we have two special guests on the show, and one of them is Savannah who is involved, you know, as you've seen in a lot of the drama in this last episode. And then we also have the amazingly talented and I'm so excited Andy Grammer, who you will see as a guest judge on next week's episode. Both of them are joining us in just a little bit. But before we have them on, of course, we have a lot to digest and talk about this week's episode because it was a wild one. And Rachel, I mean, where do we start? As always, we start with Chris Harrison's That's how each episode pops off, right, Like Chris Harrison comes in and drops a bomb. So he comes in, and honestly, I was thinking this have we ever seen this before? Where Chris Harrison is basically like I'm paraphrasing, but he was like, you ain't gotta go home, but you got to get the hell out of here. I feel like that's what he said. But he says, if you're not a couple, you have a few moments to figure your shit out, and if you're not a couple, then you have to go home. I feel like maybe that happens in paradise around fantasy suites, but this happens. I mean we're only on episode three at this point. He's basically like, you ain't got a connection, you got stick out. But I love it because I felt like it was towards that this is the essence of the show, right, it's about couples making music together. We don't need anybody the stragglers. Yeah, and you do see people scrambling and everyone's like, oh shit, Like what do I gotta do to stick around? I will say though, I appreciated the way Gabe kind of handle it and he was like, Okay, I don't have a super strong connection. I kind of have one with this girl. Let's see where it goes. And obviously it didn't go anywhere. Unfortunately he went home when she turned him down. But I like, how you what's the phrase like cut the fat or trim the fat orally on to really get to what this show is about, and that's forming connections for in a relationship and making hopefully beautiful music. But I thought, I think it's so interesting that you bring up gay because it was true. Gabe could he gave his rose to Ruby last week, so he could have just said, Okay, Ruby and I are going to work this out and we're gonna keep moving forward. But he was very honest with himself and with Ruby and with Savannah, and was like, this is the only Savannah. You're the only person I can actually see a connection with. It's either you or I'm going home, which you don't really see that on another Bachelor franchise shows. You see pitty roses, pitty kisses, pitty hugs. You know, it was nice to see, like you said, Gabe just trimmed the fat. Yeah, in this case was himself, which treads himself. But I appreciated the honesty and every time we watched the show or watch a Bachelor show where I was like, who's here for the right reasons? And I felt like he was, like he took it seriously and it unfortunately didn't work out for him, but like he wasn't messing around, which I appreciate. I know. I feel like if there's a redemption rose, like, if they allow people to come back, it should go to Gay because he did it the right way. Even though it sent him home, it was right. So yeah, we see Gabe go home. He eliminates himself because Savannah's just basically like, I just see you as a friend. But you could tell that was really hard for her. She was really upset. So I can't wait to actually talk to her about that a little bit. Yes, she handled it well. So Gabe goes home, Ruby goes home, and Ruby's like, I didn't get a fair shot, and I'm like, well, Ruby, he came in the second week that you know, people had already made their connections. You gave us love as a losing game last week. We appreciate you for it, and maybe we'll see you on another show. I don't know. So then we get into the meat of it, the drama, and I have to hear your take on this, Julia, Savannah Brandon Sheridan like love Rectangle, whatever, love Square, I love Quadron. I okay, I have so many notes, And come on, I just Juel and I said this in the podcast last week. Julia is starting to rub me the wrong way, and that grew exponentially in this episode. And I have such an issue with and we're going to dive into this conversation between her and Savannah when Savannah's on the line, But I have such a problem with somebody basically talking shit about somebody else, saying that they're fake and that like their intentions aren't here when literally, Julia, at the last row ceremony you fled out said I want to roast from Brandon. If I don't get it from Brandon, I don't know what I'm gonna do. We saw how that went down. You didn't get a roast from Brandon, and then you made out with Sheridan two seconds later, and now you're talking crap about these other contestants. It's like you're doing what you're talking about, and I have such an issue with it. Nell on the head what she's accusing other contestants of doing, not being here for the right reasons, just doing things to stay week by week. Are you not doing that with Sheridan because you're jealous over every single move that Brandon makes it doesn't involve you, And then you're you're pulling Shardan along and it's so sad. I mean, yeah, there was Julia. I mean, starting with the basics, Julia is a ham, which stands for hot asthments. That is what Julia is. I get. I cringe. I get frustrated every single time she's on the screen because it's such a roller coaster, an emotional roller coaster, and it's like, what do you want? Just say you want Brandon. Brandon has clearly at this point we see him say, I feel like I haven't given this relationship with Savannah a fair shot, so I want to go all in and see if we can make it work. Now, Julia wasn't privy to that conversation, so she's watching it on the outside, so we as the audience, see that Brandon and Savannah are trying to give it their all to see if there's really something there. Meanwhile, Julia is labeling it as fake and she's like, you're doing You're giving so much PDA And I'm like, well, there are a couple. Why are you watching? Why are you watching what she doing? And we've seen this in any other show, any other Bachelor, Bachelorette, Bachelor, and Paradise show. Like the more somebody fixates on another person or another relationship, like that's when the down roll downward spiral happens. And that's what we're seeing happen with Julia. But she doesn't want to admit it. She's so fixated on a separate couple that she's not even focusing on like what she's really there for. She's just talking smack on Brandon and Savanna. I was gonna say, Shardan, there's just like it's just such a mess. And I don't think Julia truly knows what she wants. I think she wants to try and stick around for a little bit longer and like work the right angles to do so. But I don't think in this situation, I don't think it's Savannah or Sheridan who's being fake. I think it's Julia that I agree with you. What I find interesting about Juliet is Julia thought she had after that rose ceremony, because you know, she keeps referring to that night he told me, you know that he was glad I got a rose because I'm still here in the morning, and that morning he reassured me the same thing. So Julia really thought Brandon was for her, and that's why she was like, hey, Savannah, girl, I'm just looking out for you. He is so indecisive because she thought Brandon was going to come to her, and then when the flip the script flipped, she was like, well wait a minute, now, this isn't this isn't how it was supposed to go down, so you know, she played herself basically, so but I know we have so much to talk about and dive into when it comes to that drama, So we'll save that for Savannah because we get to hear it actually from the horse's mouth, you know, she can give us the details, so then we see so I think, what just backtracking a bit when Chris Harrison also comes in and tells them, hey, only couples have to stay. He also lets them know you're going to be doing live performances and you're going to be doing them in front of celebrity judges and also Bachelor Nation cup. So they're all excited and they're realizing, wait, now we're taking it up a notch. We've actually got to perform with each other and other people are going to critique and judge us, which we see Jamie break down from that and her nerves basically get the best of her, which I feel like we're starting. You know, I like Jamie. I like her a lot actually, but I can see that she's twenty one at the same time and how she had those things, and that's what we touched on last week. Like Jamie her age, is starting in the show, and she just I think she just doesn't have obviously just doesn't have as much life experience performing experience as some of these other people, other contestants, and like, and she's amazing. Like when she actually performed, she like she took over and the judges loved her, the audience loved her. Like she's so good. I think she just needs to build up that self confidence and have a little bit more faith than like, no, sometimes you're gonna fall flat on your face, You're not going to have the greatest performance. But she's so wrapped up in like ruining her performance for Trevor, which is like I get that, like, yes, you are a people and like you guys both want to shine together and build each other up. But like, she just has needs to have more faith and confidence because she's awesome when she opens up her mouth and sings. She's so good. Somebody just maybe needs to like sneak in some CBD oil before she does that her nerves a little bit Kari and sponsor on the show. But I will say I do appreciate all the dynamics for getting when it comes to musicians and artists, because not everyone is super confident. A lot of people have their insecurities for various reasons, and so it is nice to see different sides of it. You know, as wonderful as we think that she is, she's still suffering with her with her own insecurities, which we see come out later in the show. So I know you're excited, Becca, because we had two dates this week, and one of them is with your girl. So I am so curious as to what you thought about Danny and Becca's day with stylist rebecc can make because there's there's there's a lot to get into with that one. There is, and they had a first like when they first walked into this lovely mansion with all the clothes around their their excitement was so cute, and that's whatever. I'm like, Oh, they're cute. And then about two minutes later I crossed that out and I was like, this is awkward friendship, and like, God bless them for trying, for trying to see what what could potentially work. I just don't think Becca was feeling it when they were in that hot tub. I was like, Oh, she is not into Danny. And fast forward to their actual performance. You still just feel a friendship and that's really it. Yeah, I guess no, no spark, and I kept wondering, why have we seen Becca? Why haven't we seen Danny? Got it? Got that? That was all that was my note. Got it totally understand. Don't need to see them anymore. We can move on from Danny and Becca. I feel like we needed that day just to see why we hadn't seen them on camera yet. So then Natasha and Ryan get a date and it's at the House of Blues and we see Chris Lane. It's a Chris Lane performance. And then we see Lauren Lane formerly Lauren Bushnell. So it's cute to see them together as a couple their newlyweds. M what did you think about Natasha and Ryan? Do you think they mesh? Well? No, oh I don't. I don't. I And Rachel, I know you love Ryan. I feel like he's your guy that you're rooting for. I just don't think and I wrote this in my notes because I think that they just seem odd together. Like Natasha and I'm all about strong women and like being like women can be the strength backbone to a relationship. But I just don't see them meshing together like it just feels off to me, and I don't know what it is. And I kind of saw that in the performance and we'll get to that and Jason Moranz touched on it too, where like Natasha could take off. I just I think that it's another thing where it feels like more of an alliance, were like they like each other enough to try and like stick around another week and to do what it takes to slide by. But I don't think like there's this relationship that would actually last outside of this. Yeah, I one hundred percent agree with you. It is something is off. But I love Natasha because she's stunning and her voice is amazing. But I always feel like she's performing when she's having a conversation with Ryan. She's on, She's performing. Everything she does, she's on and they haven't even hit the live stage yet, So I think that's what it is. Too. We've seen another side of Ryan when he was with Jamie, and he was very endearing and honestly, the best he sounded to me was when he was singing Gravity with Jamie, and I haven't seen that same I guess like I just haven't seen that same artistry since he was with Jamie. And so I don't know. Maybe Natasha makes him she is a powerhouse. Maybe she makes him feel a little insecure. Not sure, but I a one hundred percent agree with you. So we get to the live performances. This is what we've all been waiting for. We hear people singing around the house, we hear people practicing. Oh can I just fall like speaking of people practicing, if I had to watch Brandon and Savannah sing that damn song one more time sharing that one microphone? Can we get them too? Please? Can we get them too microphones? I said at first, I don't even think they sound good. But I was like, I cannot And it's not Savannah, it's Brandon. I have huge issues with Brandon. I was just like, we get it, we get it. They're singing, Julia's listening Sheridan's alone. Okay, stop, but onto the live performances. I And this is why I wish I was a guest judge, because I feel like I don't know if I like put on my Simon Coal hat and like felt like my judge side come out. But I will say I don't know who's picking up the songs. I don't think it's the couples. I think they're just in these songs to sing. Yeah, some of them I have issues with. I don't this is gonna be I'm gonna get so much flack for this. It's gonna be a very unpopular opinion. But like the backstor Boys song, we could have picked such a better one. People like something with more depth and power, and I felt like some of the songs. Some of the songs were great. Some of the songs didn't necessarily do it for me, but I felt like they were a safe performance song to do for like this first round of performances. Yeah, I'll actually agree with you. I wasn't a huge fan of the song choices either. I really well, especially the well we'll get into live performances. We'll give like a yay or nay if we liked their song or not. Okay, so our girl first live performance, I mean, can we talk about setting the bar high? Rudy and Matt. I feel like this is the first time we've really seen Matt sing. They were amazing together, very very good performance. The judges clearly liked it as well. I didn't think they were they were more perform warming then I felt like they were had that romantic connection. It was like, we work well together, we're a team. We know they like each other, but that didn't come across in the performance to me. So starting note, and this is something that I wrote in my notes before they got on stage, you kind of see Rudy a little bit get in her head, have the nerves come out. And the first thing I wrote was, Rudy, don't let me down because I want I did not want her to get into her head because I like, it's no surprise like she's I think one of my favorite singers on this show. She just she has a voice like velvet and so beautiful to listen to. No, I thought that they did fine together. I thought it was a good performance. I thought like Rudy carried it. Yes, Matt like he has a great voice, he had the guitar. But I felt like she stole the show in that one. Yeah, but I think it was designed for her to steal the show. So I actually appreciated the role that Matt played in it, and I thought he sounded amazing and I was like, oh, maybe we're really hearing from at this time. I thought he played his part, and I think that's sometimes in a relationship and as a duet, you have to play your role. So to me, they did that really really well. Um Chris and Bree. It's like, I feel like we don't spend time much time on Chris and Brie because we're like, they're in love, they're in sync. It's a safe bet. Yeah, like, oh, you know going into it that like there's going to be that connection, Like them, out of anyone, is the strongest couple. M I do lovely on Bridges. So the song choice for that, I was like, yes, I loved that song, and yeah, you could feel it. I mean like you could see fresh off the bat that like they're into each other. It was a safe not I don't want to say a safe because I feel like that like diminishes like their relationship and I'm not saying that at all. Yeah, but we know that they're getting roses, they're going to go on to the next week. They're fine. And I think it was Chris who said it's about the relationship first and then the music, and so they might not have had the strongest performance out of everyone, but they definitely had the strongest chemistry. And even Jojo was like, oh my gosh, the way you Chris look at Bree, like, find you a man that looks like that's the meme, right, find you a man that looks at you the way that Chris looks at Bree. Periodly, even Jordan was like, yeah, yeah, that's it. You got it. So on the next performance, because we're going in order, I realized that I had been tapping my foot and smiling and kind of grooving, and then I stopped when it came to Bethman Daniel, I just I wasn't. I was like, songs off, I'm not moving anymore. So first of all, didn't like the song that they saying, Hey Ho by the Luminears was it wasn't a fan of them together. They sounded like they were singing two different songs. M what did you think? Because voice is great, yes, good. So before the judges even and chimed in and gave their take, I wrote friendship and friendship that's what it felt like. And I felt for me they just didn't align. Like Danny, I felt like he was like smiling, so happy, go lucky, but it was like he was putting on that extra performance, like he was putting on the act to be like, yeah, we're so good, I'm happy, and it just like you could feel it was off. You could feel like there wasn't anything more in there, which is obviously just like from their date anyways, nothing nothing to write home about with that performance, obviously because we don't see them going on to the next week, which like you could have called it. Yeah, Savannah and Brandon, they sang I want You to Want Me by Cheap Trick. Didn't like the song choice for them. M I didn't either. There's no depth to that song. It's just it's very baseline, over and over, repetitive, like I didn't feel it didn't stir up any sort of emotion, and I think that was because of the song choice to not. I mean, we'll get into like their relationship, but the song choice itself just wasn't up on what is it like on par with some of the other choices. It was like fever like. When I saw them, I was like, are we sing a fever again? Or are we singing I Want you to Want Me? It didn't. It just didn't resonate with me. Jojo and Jordan I thought it was interesting because they said that it looked like Savannah wasn't into it. That's how what I get from Brandon. He is more into holding that guitar and playing that guitar more than he isn't connecting with Savannah in the duet. Also, he makes really cringey faces when he sings, and it bothers me. I'm sorry, I know that could be a part of him singing it. Fuck the cameraman, you know, the cameraman are ruthless. There's one point where he makes a face. I'm making it for you because you can see me Becca. It's like this, and the camera zoos in on it, like just in case you didn't see, we're get a closer in this snow either time made about this face snow and he's attractive, but it was like, oh well, reach you said it last week on the podcast, just in the way he performs in his voice. He said he's very theatrical, and you start to see that now in his performance and appearance, like he so Brandon for me, I don't think he's the strongest singer in the bunch compared to some of these other people. I feel like he's just not on their level necessarily. Like I think he can sing, he can hold a note, that's fine, but like you're on like a musical singing show, and I don't think it's on par with like Rudy or Julia. Now, I feel like he kind of forces it when he performs. When he sings, I feel like going along with the theatrics. I feel like he just pushes, like he's pushing through to the next note. Now, people, I was in choir back in the day, so I don't really know all that much what I'm talking about, but like there were times where like my choir teachers like, don't push so hard, don't push so hard, and I felt like that's how he is when he sings. Yeah, no, totally agree with you. At find me to rewind to the part that I'm talking. I'm a screenshot and sing it to you. Julia and Sheridan as long as You Love Me, a classic by the Backstreet Boys. What did you were you impressed? Because the first time we saw Julia and Sheridan saying, we were like, wow, that sounded like it was a recording. What do you think this time? The song choice did not do it for me? I okay, and listen, people, I know this is an unpopular opinion. I love Backstreet Boys. I grew up with BSB, but the song choice wasn't there for me. I felt like, again, it was very baseline. There was no depth to it. And yeah when we first heard them sing, when Julia first sang at the radio station last week, she blew me away like she was one of my top favorite singers. Just vocals like so freaking good and this like they did find performing, like the judges liked it. But it just it wasn't like I didn't feel it. I don't know, I was something missing for me. You know what I think it was. I think it was their version of it. You know, they started off slowing it down, and I was like, no, this is a classic, like you you I kept going okay when they were singing, and you know there's that one part there where they're like uh uh. They didn't even hit that that everybody sings that no matter where you are, And I just I didn't like that they slowed it down in the beginning and then sped it up to the normal beat of the song. I think that was a little off for me. I thought Sheridan though sounded great, it was Julia who was a little bit more often. We know that she's gone through some things this episode, so maybe she was just in her head. But what I was more focused on was Brandon. Brandon looked like he was like, that's the person I need to be singing with, because I feel like Brandon is navigating this like who can take me the farthest, who has the better voice? And I think he was watching Julia and he was like, you know what, I think we'd probably sing better together. Yeah, no, I agree, and they and the camera and cameraman he keeps panning this Brandon and you see him kind of standing behind Savannah and his face like he's is smiling, like trying to be like, oh, this is fine whatever, and you know inside he's like damn it, like it's just eating him up inside a little bit. Yes, Nady, cameraman, Dougie. It was definitely did you know You've getten in there? But yeah, it's I mean, they did find the audience loved it. Joe Jordan and Joejo really loved it. Like I think that was my favorite part when Jordan was standing up dancing in the background to it. Jordan loved the song choice, he didn't love the performance, yeah, exactly. So, I mean I think we just have to leave it to the backs for boys to do that when people yes, okay, so Ryan and Natasha. Natasha is amazing. I mean, like, let's just Ryan did. He might as well not even been there. And I hate to say that because I think he's insanely talented, but he's falling off to me every single week. I expected. I know it was her. The song was about the female voice, but Ryan did not anything to it. He looked at in his suit. Though. I like that their styles don't match. Their singing styles do not match, and you can tell that fresh off the bat. I also think Ryan, yes, he's talented, but he does anyone notice he sings so slow every time he performs. It's like I want him to like pick it up a little bit. And in my mind, I'm like, oh my gosh, she's gonna like miss the next sentence, like the next verse because he's like so slow. So I just want him to pick it up a little bit. Yeah he was. Yeah, it was. It is what it is. The judges called it. We all saw Natasha killed it. I'm expecting more from them next week. I hope that Ryan takes in what the judges told him this week and applies it to the next week. Last, but not least Trevor and Jamie. I was shocked there were the last performance. I thought we were going to get like a more powerhouse performance. UM. I thought Jamie sounded off and the performance it like I've heard her sing better. To me, it was so pitchy that maybe that's a choir term or an American idol term. I love it just didn't they didn't connect to me. But I will say her story and her journey to get from riding in her room to the stage was the most powerful part of her performance. M I think well, and I will say I think they went last because of her nerves. I think to like build it up into amp up, how nervous she actually was, Like they had to make her wait and be like, oh shit, we're gonna sing in front of not only the judges and this crowd, but like all of the other contestants too. UM. I think just between the two, I think Jamie, like much of these women in these in these couples, I think Jamie stole the show like Trevor did fine, but between the two, I think she held it a little bit better. UM. I just think like vocally she just she's she's amazing. I think she just needs some like fine tuning UM. And I think like sometimes too God, I'm like trying to act like I know what I'm talking about and I don't. But you notice like the fluctuations in the voice UM that like some vocal artists will do like to make it more I don't know, stylish, whatever you want to say, like pitchy maybe Um. There was just a lot of that for me in the song. And I don't know. Granted, like I'm not I don't listen to country, so I don't I don't know this song. I'm not gonna lie. I don't know it either. I know country fans are gonna come at me. But you know who Marion Morris is, Yeah, exactly so, And I don't know how she performs it if it's like very similar with like the ups and the downs and that fluctuation. UM. But there was just sometimes I think when there's too much of that in songs, it takes away from the song and the performance itself. Yeah, it wasn't. It wasn't. I thought Trevor actually did better um in this performance. But hopefully they'll improve to the next week and hopefully this is like what Jamie needed to get it out of her system, Like, Okay, I did it. I'm stronger than I think I can do this, and I have a strong support system. That's what I do like about their relationship. Trevor supports her and that's what she needs and she acknowledged that. So they're cute. They're cute together. Okay, So, Becca and I've given you our take and what we thought in watching it, But would you love to hear from somebody who was actually in the house, who was actually no other way to put it in the middle of the drama. So let's get back to one of the most jaw dropping scenes from last night, when Julia pulled Savannah aside to confront her about being quote disingenuous, which I feel like is a new Bachelor term. Becca. On your season, the guys kept using that. I'd never no credit. I didn't really watch the show a lot before, but I had never heard people use it as much. I thought, who do people even know what it means? Why? Why is everybody say It's like one person said it and now everybody is disingenuous? But I think it was on my season. It was either like Colton or Jordan who started seeing it, but I think they used the wrong terments that like disingenuine. Oh, it's probably Colton. There was like a toss up between disingenuous and disingenuine. So I'm hoping that on the podcast we have the correct term, which is disingenuous. It is disingenuous. I love that you recognize too, that so many people use that word on your season. I don't know if it made them feel smarter or what once they figured out the correct way to use it. But I don't know. I have so many opinions on this, and I know our listeners do too. So we decided to do everyone just a solid why might invite Savannah on the show to just go ahead and talk it out with us. So, ladies and gentlemen, please welcome Savannah McKinley to the show. Welcome to the podcast, Savannah. Now, we're so happy to have you on the show today. You know, we want to get a little bit of the behind the scenes, the tea, if you will, because last night's episode was just, of course wild. We saw everything go down, we saw the drama between you and Julia, and of course we have so many questions for you. So let's start and talk about what everyone wants to know and get into that comfrontation between you and Julia Savannah. Is she as nutty as she seems? I wouldn't say nutty. Nutty's probably not the word that I would use. I think Julia is Julia is just really strong. I think Julia is highly motivated, I think maybe opinionated, and the way that she comes across can seem a little aggressive. And so that conversation literally brings me back. I'm like, oh my gosh, because I know that her intention probably wasn't necessarily to attack me, but I also had a hard time figuring out what her motivation was. You know, like when you have a confrontation, it's either hey, I'm a friend that I lovingly want to get to the bottom of this because I think the way that you are is maybe hurting yourself or hurting others, or you've acknowledged something and you just you either want an apology or some sort of resolve, you know. And so this conversation was really difficult for me to navigate because I don't think on what she said there was any intention of a resolve. It was just I think you are this way period, And I was like, I don't, I'm not really share what to do with that. Well, I don't think just from what we've seen, I don't know if Julia even necessarily knows what she wants or what she was hoping to get out of that. Maybe it was just to get how she was feeling off of her chest. But the part when she starts off that conversation and says, look, I wanted to send myself home or go home because of you, that in itself just kind of shows like where she's at, because like, you came on the show for a reason, whether that was to find a partnership, to grow musically and maybe booster care or do both, that's one thing. But to just want to go home because of a relationship that she says she doesn't care about or that she's not invested in, It's like that what you're saying isn't lining up with now what this conversation is about, and like why she's even having in the first place. And so, I mean, when that happened and she says I'm not into Brandon, I'm over it, did you believe her? No? Not at all? I mean, but to your point. If you have absolutely no emotional investment in what the subject is, it wouldn't even be a topic of discussion. So I wanted to go about that conversation when she started it that way, It's like, pluck, I can tell you're highly emotional about this. I can tell that your feelings are very strong, and so I never wanted to come off as hateful or rude. I really just knew that, like, this does mean something to you, So let's navigate around this so we can come to a conclusion. Do you feel like you came to a conclusion though, because I will say yeah, I will say you hint, she was on one level, and it was almost like you were so mature in not matching her there and just kind of calmly trying to talk to her about it, and then and you just answered the question. There wasn't a resolution. See if that had been me and she said I'm not here because or I wanted to go home because of you, I would have said, do you need me to help you pack? That's uh in that moment. But but Savannah, the way that you handled it and navigated it you like, I love that you. Just as Rachel said, sat there calling and you were like, well, why why is what I'm doing in my relationship affecting you so much? And it shouldn't be. And that's the thing, like if she's over Brandon, if she's trying to figure out whatever she is with Sheridan, like that should be her focus and shouldn't be. It just felt like she was fixating on it so much because she wanted something, and you know, like, yeah, we've all been there, We've all like wanted the thing that we can't have. But I think like it wasn't fair for her to come at you and call you disingenuous. How many we gotta count how many times the word disingenuous came up in that conversation, But it was that was like the buzzword of the house. Yeah, well, Rachel and I were talking to it on my season. It's when it kind of sort of like being thrown around, but it was I think it was used in correctly as disingenuine. So I'm glad that it's finally like the correct version of it. I feel like they should bleep it out like it's a curse word, Like anytime somebody, Yes, every time I hear that you PTSD when you hear disingenuous. So oh yeah, I mean I hear the autio clip in my heart's like, oh gosh, beat it out. Were you and Julia close prior to this conversation. Did you feel like you'll had a friendship in the house. I honestly no, um And I mentioned this in during that conversation out and know if it made it or not. But one of the things that was a constant for me is I would always say this, like, hey, I'm here to make people feel loved and feel welcome. That's really all I want to do. And as you see throughout the episodes, it's like that was my main goal. And so I'm not here to stir up drama. I'm not here to be rude. I'm that's just not who I am. Um And so I had told Julia in that conversation, I'm like, hey, you think this is a zero to one hundred thing. Yet you and I aren't best friends. And so the way that I have typically handled relationships is like I'll connect really well with one girl and like she's my girl, like so I'll know all the details of everything. And Julia was just never that, and so to me, it was a bit of a shock that she would expect me to confide in her and share my heart with her, if to be frank, like, she wasn't the nicest to me or the most open to me, whether or not that was a response to the way that you know, the way that I might have been, but no, like we weren't the best of friends. And so I think that whole conversation blindsided me because I'm a very stay in your lane, like I'm here to do my thing, find you know, my relationship, and stay in my stay in my lane, And it was just a tough conversation to navigate because I'm like, I don't get the whole I'm gonna feel a certain way because of you, but has nothing to do with hers in Brandon's relationship. I think that comes out on the show. I think your character comes out, especially how there were two things that really stood out to me in this episode. One, how you handled your relationship with Gabe and you could tell you were emotional about it and you but you wanted to be very honest with him and you didn't want to lead him on. So it definitely want to get your take on that. But then also something you said about your relationship with Brandon. You said, I gave you my first rose. You gave me your rose, and you have to create a strong foundation at the beginning, and I thought that we were doing that. So I think that gives us insight to how you are just as a person. You're very matter of fact and you know what it is that you want and you go after it and you don't be yes about it. So tell us about that conversation that you had with Gabe. How hard was that? Oh, y'all, Gabe, it was like the sweetest human on planet Earth. I swear we always joked and were like Gabe's house dad, because he was always the one that was like sitting there and giving like the best advice and like would listen to you. And I was like the shoulder to cry on. And so I just have the softest spot in my heart for Gabe, Like he's just a phenomenal man. And that conversation was difficult, but just because of the way that Gabe is, he allowed me to be myself. He never once said we can't mend this relationship if you don't pick me, or I'm gonna hate you forever. He was like hey, matter of fact, like this is where I am. I choose you. If you don't choose me, I'm not pressuring you to do so. And so it was almost this like freedom to share with him how much he meant to me, even though he knew like it probably wasn't enough to keep him. And I think that's something we don't see enough on the show, is that that level of respect where he didn't get upset. He just was like, I appreciate you telling me this, thank you, and now I'm going to remove myself if it's not like for the right reasons. That's something that Rich and I before I jumped on that we said about him, is it seems like even though it didn't work out for him, it felt like he was truly there taking this heart for the right reasons and being like, look, if I'm not gonna force it, I'm not just gonna try to find a relationship to make it week by week. And so, yeah, we didn't see enough of him. I would love to see more of him, but um, you know, for that that interaction, that conversation that had was had between you two, it was it was a good one. So thank you for that. No, overall like, we saw a lot of the drama go down obviously with you and Julia, but your experience overall while being on the show, what was that Like? The whole experience on the show is both of you know, it's such a rollercoaster, right. You have days where you're on top of the world, and then you have days where you just want to crawl a hole and cry, you know. And I think up until this episode, I was really confident, really excited to be there, really happy, and just I was happy just being myself. Like I think, Rachel, you just said, I'm really a matter of fact, like I know what's up. And it's interesting going into one of these experiences or going into this journey. I was like, I'm mentally super strong and I've got this. I know who I am. And then you get far enough along and you realize, oh my gosh, emotionally, I haven't been challenged like this ever. And I would say on set, like we're in a pressure cooker. This is like an accelerated thing. And so for me, it was a challenge to be able to identify my emotions and then speak to them really well. And you just you have your good days, you have your bad days. But through and through, I think there are enough genuine people on that show or during the journey along for the journey with me that I was able to combide in and lean on, and so it was ended up being amazing. I wouldn't train for the world. Were you a fan of The Bachelor Bachelorette before you went on this show? I was so. Whenever I was preparing for, you know, filming, I realized that I had seen bits and pieces here and there. I've seen both of your seasons bits and pieces, and I wanted to know more about the culture and everything. So I actually sat down and I was working on something for PRETT, and I had my phone on this desk and I was working on something, and I watched y'all five hours worth of like YouTube videos from anything from like Jake Pavelka to Colton Underwood to like even the beginning of Peter. And it was so funny because I got all Bachelorette, Bachelor, Bachelor in Paradise drama, the highs and lows, and I was like, Oh, we're in for it, guys away right. I was like, oh man, I'm in, Like, let's do it. Yeah, Well, Havannah, we gotta wrap up. But I Rachel and I like to play games, and we don't have a full game today. But I want to know, honestly, during your dumb on the show, who did you think had the best voice and the worst voice? Oh? I can't pick yourself. You can't pick yourself as the best. Can you imagine? If I'm like me? Why not? Why not? Um? Okay? Oh gosh, I think best voice hands down as Rudy. I mean, girls, I never met Rudy, but I'm obsessed with her. This girl, y'all has pipes. She's just she's one of those like she could sing any genre, any key and like you would just melt. And she's equally as amazing on the inside as her voice portrays on the outside. So I would say best voice is her, by far. Um what was the other worst voice? Voice? Yo? All? Yes, I don't. I don't know if I'm necessarily gonna dog anybody, but um, can we talk about the Michael Todd moment? Because you worst voice? But I would say, like the funniest interaction with someone singing and how all that turned out. I'm so happy you brought this up because you were the one where he's like, I like your lips, and I was seriously cringing into my couch. I don't remember when I was drinking something like a margarite or something, and I almost like broke the glass because I was like, oh my gosh, hand you're like, thank you. You have been like but lips. Yeah, Like okay, Rachel, what would you have done in that moment? I feel like you're my sassy girl. That would have like put this man in his place or something. I honestly probably would have walked away without any explanation. I would have just left him there. No words would have been spoken, not an excuse me, nothing, just I would have walked away up and Lee I would have been like, I'm I'm like the weird awkward girls would have been like, you're making me feel weird right now, Like oh but dude, see I feel like I was more on your level with that, because you know, it's like a moment for it to sink in. I was like, oh my gosh, this is happening. Yeah, but it doesn't happen. Seriously. I think we always go through it where some guy is trying to hit on you and you're just like, how in the world do I shut this down as soon as I can, and it's just so awkward. But in this so much you can you could be like, oh, can you talk less and sing more? Or can I hear that song again? Can can I hear that beatbox again? Isn't that well? That's what I was kind of getting at Rachel. I was like when I asked him, I was like, can you beatbox? I'm like, okay, we can do that. And then there's you know, an exit plan here, no exit plan. I was like, Oh, we're in. When you're in? Who were you the closest in the house too? What you said? Who are you the closest with in the house? Oh, y'all? Becca is my girl. I liked she loves Beecca too. I really liked Secca like the beginning of intro package, Like she just sold me. She sucked me in right away. Oh I died. I called her immediately and I was like, what, that's just her? I mean, that is just her. She's genuine and she's so caring and she's just funny. She's hilarious. You did cry when she left, so yeah, I could tell you guys were close. Yeah, she's my girl. We're holding hands and it was one of those moments of like, you know, we did we did everything we could. We left it all out there, and I mean, she's a lifelonger for me. So oh, it's so great when you get that from the show. You're never expecting that. You know, you're on a love show, but the friendships that you make are forever if you're if you're lucky, you get a friend forever from the show. Yeah. Yeah, And that was something that I told Chris Sayerson. I don't know if it made it or not, but when we were sitting standing in the driveway when I first met him, and he's like, what do you expect out of the show, And I was like, honestly, my heart is open, my hands are open. I just want to make authentic connections and relationships. And he laughed and he's like that sounds a little sterile, don't you think. I was like, honestly, no, because I could walk through those doors and meet the love of my life, but I could also make the best friend of my life. And so it was so beautiful and you'll see how everything unravels, but on like the friendship side of things, like that absolutely happened with her, so I'm grateful. Well, I always say, like, even if you don't find love on the show, in you know, partnership, you still find love with your girls. So I'm happy for you guys. I can't wait to see kind of like what pans out from here. Now, before we let you go, I have to ask, So your first date with Brandon, you guys went to that cute little jazz club. What were your thoughts on? What were their names? Elaine and Mortier there were so yeah, y'all, they were so cute. I was so happy that they got a little bit of airtime because they were precious. So I've been looking forward to that date. I mean, obviously you don't know that when you're gonna get a date card or not. So it's always an honor and like a shock yard starts beating fast, like I just got a day guard. But walking into the Dresden was just it was amazing, Like it's iconic as we all know, and they are just they genuinely are so in love, Like no part of that was staged. It honestly was just they're beaming at all times, and they had this playful banter and they still poke at each other and she can tell the story of how they met, or she can tell like the little details about something funny that happened years ago. And so it was really cool that they came and sat down at the table with us and we got to ask some relationship questions to them because they still got it and they're amazing, They're so cute. I'm so happy that you guys were able to meet them and have them be part of the show. As you said, But I mean, it was so much fun having you. I mean, I feel like we can just talk for hours and I you know, maybe we'll chine after this and you know, get some more tea because I do want to dive in a little bit more. I mean, this is what all I'll say is, this is the episode that I'm on, so I know some things, but I don't know how it all plays out. So I'm like, I gotta know how can this happen? Yes, I'm a judge. We know this, Brian as a judge. Yes, we forget us because we have the incredibly talented Andy Grammar. Everyone he's a judge and we have him right now on the show. Okay, so just to start off, how are you doing in quarantine? How are you coping? What's new? Are you safe? Are you saying what's going on? I am safe and saying, you know, it's been two weeks now since we had our second baby in quarantine. My wife had a baby in the room and it was unbelievable and amazing, beautiful and and I know some people think I'm crazy. I caught her. I caught my baby in the tub. It was wow. Wait so this was planned and having like a spiritual, crazy, awesome quarantine? Ye wait, Andy, was the birth planned in the living room or was this like all of a sudden she had the Okay, man, it was really lucky because we had planned to have a home birth what we wanted to do, and then it happened to just be right during the quarantine. And then because people were afraid to go to the hospital, it's a homework started to be something that was like way more popular, and our midwife was saying that she had to get a new phone because everyone's calling her so much. But we had already planned to do it at home and it worked out. It was really cool. Oh my gosh, that's crazy. Well, I feel like this is the best time to have a baby because now you can both be home together. I mean, my sister had a baby back in September and she's like, this is just a really long maternity leave for me. So at least you're busy and have a new little bundle of joy to keep you busy. Yeah. And there's so much like mental intensity going on right now. I feel like, if you read the news or because it is, we're in like an unprecedented time. Yeah, I have my brain can't go that far into all that because it's just like I got a new little girl here. Yeah. Story like she's going to grow up and be looking through her baby book and like the story she can tell her friends. And she was born in your living room during the midst of a quarantine. That's like what movies are made of exactly. She's coming in with She wanted to make an entrance for sure. Oh yeah, Andy, I'm obsessed with her name Israel Blue. Oh if you hear it again, don't get mad at me. Beautiful, beautiful. I just and I'm so glad my husband isn't on the phone because he wants me to have an at home birth. And that's a point of confession for us. I'm terrified. Are you afraid of it? Why? Why are you afraid? Let's talk about it for a second. Okay, let's talk about it. Um of the pain. I think I'm a person who's like, can you just give me whatever medicine I need to get through it. I've had another friend who said it at home birth, and she speaks of how this is the most beautiful experience ever. I just I mean, is it beautiful? Pass screaming, that's the screaming past, drawing things around the roof. I was gonna say if I gave birth in my home, every time I would pass a certain area and be like, oh, that's the moment that you like tore my insides apart, or like, that's the moment where there's like this blood gushing out onto the carpet. Actually, oh yeah, I will say it's a little bit. It's a little bit that. But it's also the other side of like our house feels so magical, like, oh my god, that's where this happened. That's where the baby came into the world, is right there. That's there's some of that too. It feels like our house like got even closer to us. Yeah, but there's no judgment on anyone. All all have getting a baby out are valid and fair. I could say, you're making me see a better side of it. I will say that, Rachel, would you do it if you could get the drugs? Yes, if I could, Yes, for sure, for sure. I'm just picture like Dexter style where he puts down all of the plastic all over, like covering the walls, the floor of the tables. Like that's what I would need, is like full Dexter style, like to not have blood and juices get everywhere. Oh god, okay, that's question when I say, it's not like a bathtub, it's like a whole, Like you blow up this tub and it's like a it's like a small little pool that we put in our living room. Yeah. Well, congratulations, Yes, congratulations. Our listeners thought that we were only going to talk about you being on Listen to your Heart, and little did they know they're going to get like a full birthing experience with Indy Grammar Today didn't know that bonus at the time. On that show. By the way, it was so fun. Yeah, well, we want to get into your experience because I mean, I know Rachel had the privilege to meet you. I unfortunately wasn't there, which I'm bummed. Andy. I did actually see you perform in Minneapolis a couple of years ago at the Basilica block party. So when Rachel I was actually recording with Rachel, like the day before or the day of, you guys filmed Listen to Your Heart and you guys were both judges, and She's like, yeah, I get to beat Andy Grammer'm like I saw him a couple of years ago and you were phenomenal live. Yeah, that show was really good. I remember that one that was such a vibe. It was a corner of the festival. Yeah yeah, and you close it down, you try it down. It was the perfect ending to the weekend. Very very good performance. So when Rachel said that she was going to meet you and have you as one of the guest judges, I was like, damn, I wish I could be there. But how was her time on the show. I had a really good time. I was really impressed at the level of like talent, Like everybody's really good. All the voices were good, Like there was like a level of like a standard level of like, oh, everybody that's here and singing is really good. They're all really good. There's no doubt about it, you know. I was really impressed. Yeah, and that's something that Rachel and I have talked about. I mean, we knew that we would be covering the show and that you know, these people would come in and hopefully be good singers, but for some of them were actually blown away. So it's really fun week by week to hear them sing, to hear them perform together. But one of my favorite parts of now watching the actual performances is hearing your feedback that the judges feedback is something that's really I think special for me and you guys. The way that you listen and interpret these performances is on this whole new level, and you guys catch things that I, you know, just as a viewer, don't always see. So it's really fun to have you guys on as well. Yeah. Yeah, it's really you know, I've done I guess I haven't been a judge that much. I've done like performances on other singing competitions, like saying I think I'm an American idol a couple of times something on the voice, but I've never like actually sat in the chair and been like, oh, let me tell you some stuff that I've learned over doing this for a really long time and how I think it can help you. There's like a service element to it that I'm always into. It was really fun. Did you find a difficult though, to have to be in the judges seat where you have to like give your critique and then at the end of it, because we learned that this week in the episode that you have to eliminate one of the couples. Was that difficult for you? Not really? I mean part of being an artist is not part. Most of being an artist is a rejection. So it's like it's just like a part of it your story because because I've taken so much rejection in my life that if these people, these artists are putting themselves out there and they want to really know what being an artist is like, it's mostly people being like no kind of artist. One one has been like your voice han't been good enough. You're looking and good enough, you don't sound good enough, like go away, like okay, cool, Well now you're an artist, like welcome, you know, great passage. Can you please tell your story because I will. I mean, it was one of the most fascinating conversations I've had about your story of how you got started in the post it. Can you please tell that story. I feel like it'sn't just as so encouraging for anybody who's listening right now. Yeah, you know, so much of like I was saying, so much of being an artists or really any career is knowing how to just push through rejection and not letting someone else define what you're going to do, or who you are, or what your worth is. You know, I was practicing to go street perform it in Santa Monica. They have it's called Third Street Promenade, and you're allowed to go perform out there and people give you tips and stuff. And that's what I did for four years before anything happened for me. And I was tracticing in my apartment to go play on the street for no one. So, like, just for context, that is the lowest you get into music industry is to be practicing really hard to go play for no one. And I'm practicing my heart out and I get a knock at the door and I go open the door, and there's a sticky note on the door that says, your voice sucks. Give up the dream was that what? I don't know? There's nobody there. So basically the universe is telling you you should probably stop, you need to stop, and that It's like that. Stuff happens pretty consistently to the point where you just get thick enough skin where you're not being oblivious. You want to be self aware, but you do know that that's just a part of this and you got to push through it. And there's a lot of moments like that where you get to decide like, all right, am I gonna let some angry neighbor take me down? Or I'm going to just brush that off and keep pushing through it. And then the same thing happens when you got to the street and you're performing for you know, I'll play for eight hours and there'll be hours and hours where no one would care stop or drop any tips in. This is like the type of resistance that you grow accustomed to. And then now you know, I'll do like a national anthem and like half the people love it and half the people hate it, and the numbers are astronomical, and you've hopefully grown up, and you've grown up a resistance to taking it too personally. Yeah, I just love the story because it's it's applicable to almost every aspect of your life and when it really resonated with me, and then it just applies to what's going on to with these couples performing and you know, starting out or maybe way into their music careers at this point. So anyways, I just want everybody to hear that story because it's so amazing to me. Yeah, did you keep that posting? Ida? I asked the same. I wanted to be like framed now, and every time you look at it, it just pushes you to make even better music. No, I mean you know that's the other thing is in that moment, it wasn't as triumphant as it sounds now. It was hurt like hell, and you just have to believe for some reason that they're wrong. But it wasn't like it fueled me in a great way. Literally. I saw it and was, yeah, I'm gonna show you. I remember being like, Wow, I really mean, I'm gonna keep going. I guess slowly get better and better and better and better. Yet, I hope that person out there listens to you. Now and they're just like, damn it, I was wrong. I was so wrong, right, Yeah, And the truth is, you know, I don't know. I wasn't. I wasn't as good as I am now. So you know, someone can be judging you based on what you are at the moment, but they don't see your work ethic or where you're gonna go. So yeah, don't take it personally. Just keep putting the work. That's the idea. Maybe you were just performing a song or singing a song that they got broken up too over and they were just having a moment. Who knows totally exactly, there was like a trigger. Yeah. Well, and I want to ask you because we know that your wife is also a musician. You know, I went on the hole and looked on both of your instagrams and I love the ones off you performing together, especially in Quarantine you did the lovely one of I think it was Somewhere over the Rainbow that you performed, which was I think special together. And this is something that we've asked some of the other guests on our podcast, is if they've ever dated a musician before, and like, what's the key to making that work? So I want to know from you firsthand. I mean, is it difficult or is it something that really bonds you and brings you two together. I think it's both. It's like exactly down the middle, really difficult and then something that was really awesome and bonds you together. So we speak the same language when we listen to music. We have a lot of like elevated language around it, and it's really fun. And I think for us we found that being really specific about what we're doing right now in the moment is there's a lot of excommunication of if I want to show her a song, she will say, what do you want from me right now? You want me to be your wife or you want me to be like a critic, And that's actually that sounds crazy, but that's really helpful. So sometimes it gives me my life. I love it. Before you starts, it's so good. I'll do the same. Yeah, it was like you guys kind of know what hat you'll need to put on. Yeah, you really do have to put on different hats. And then also know that for many people, listening to a song is a fun time, it's like easy, but for us it's it's actually worked. So if you're sitting down at the end of the day, say can I tell you a song? Sometimes the answer is like now, now, right now, You're not gonna get what you want from me, and we're both gonna be bummed out and it's going to ruin a movie that we're about to watch. You know better and better at understanding when the right time is to share music of each other. M I think that's important because one of the questions we wanted to ask you was what's the trick? But I think you said it right there. It's it's hard to work together as a couple. I know that, like my husband and I've experienced that, and we too say which hat do you want me to put on? I'm a lawyer by trade, so I'm like, do you want me to be a lawyer right now? Or do you want me to be your wife? And you have to separate the two. Yeah, so helpful. It really is what advice would you give or do you have for the couples on the show, like moving forward trying to have this relationship but then also make music together. What advice would you give them? I hate One of the main building blocks in any relationship is vulnerability. So the more that you're able to share your ugly with somebody else, then that makes them share they're ugly, and then you have a tighter, deeper bond. So trust I think comes from vulnerability, So I would advise you to be couple, to be vulnerable with each other. Watching the performers when you were on as one of the judges, did you feel like some of them really were bond and really had that special connection, like you could see their relationship grow from here and after the show. Yeah, I think that's really hard to tell in the short terms, but some definitely had It seemed like they clicked a little bit better than others. But over a long period of time, it's it's hard to tell. Yeah, did you think any any of the couples were kind of fake and it just to make it through the next week? I'm sure, Yeah, definitely, Oh they were. They were ending artist is a really intense thing to be put through that that amount of pressure. I remember when I did Dancing with the Stars, and it's just a lot. It's like a lot of pressure and intensity to go through with someone else. It's you bond with them, it's pretty cool. Well, fortunately with the quarantine, the silver lining is that you have no choice. If these couples are together, they have no choice but to be vulnerable and show their ugly side, because I know I am with my husband. Oh yeah, I have no choice but to be a little ugly. Right now, before we let you go, what can we expect to see from you? And what new projects do you have gone on? Well, yeah, I'm writing a ton of music in this time. You know, we're we're kind of figuring out if I can't go around and play shows, what's my next move? And we got a lot of really cool ideas. You know, it's really fun for me to have kind of a laser beam focused on things. And up until this point this year, it's been all about how do I throw the best show possible that when you come to see it, you leave and you have to tell all your friends. And now that being is being put into other places. So I got a lot of things that must leave. None of them are are perfected yet, but for sure new music is coming soon. Good. Well, we can't wait to see in here. And it sounds like you're just getting so much inspiration from your new growing family, So we can't wait to see what's in stre with you. Um but I really thought I didn't know his music until afterwards, and then I started looking at his discography and I was like, oh wait, I know that song. Yeah, well two, I didn't realize that that was Andy Grammer. You know, he's he's great and his story that's why I wanted him to tell that post the story. It's just so inspirational. Even love that, the story of how he met his wife. I think they were friends. First there wasn't a romantic connection and then just like it but yeah, it's it's it came together. They weren't expecting it. I will say, it's fun to talk to him now because, like I said, I saw him perform a couple of years ago and he just had like this really special, fun, crazy energy, And now talking to him, I feel that, like I feel like who I saw on stage is also who we're talking into which is really cool to see. Yeah. Yeah, he came straight in like what's up, guys, how are you doing? You know, normally like new parents are like I'm exhausted up all night with the baby. Super chill. No, he came full gun to blazon and I love it. That's the energy we need during this quarantine. I need to channel some of that. And I thought it was really special that the contestants got to have him as a judge because his story is amazing and he really is all about perseverance and just like working hard, and that critique was great for the contestants to hear on stage, Like even when I was like, were you nervous? Did you feel awkward having a judge, He's like, no, nope, It's part of the business. Yeah, it's a rite of passage. And I like that because I think for some people, Even talking to Kesha last week, she's like, I hate judging people and it's hard, but to get the other side of things where it's like everyone goes through that. That's something that probably bonds everyone in the musician world, is you hear no at times and hopefully it can just build you up and make you stronger, and I think critique is a good thing, and so it's fun to hear his take on things. Yeah, you guys are gonna love him on the show. Yeah, can't wait. Can't wait to see you guys. Okay, you guys, that episode was amazing, per usual.
