Episode 86 - Emperor's Children pt 2 - the Horus Heresy to Modern Era
On today’s cast we conclude our coverage of the 3rd legion of the Space Marines, the Emperor’s Children. We open with Fulgrim having to clear his possession by the daemon blade. From there we move over to the Fulgrim’s ascension to Daemon Prince. After that we cover the descent of the legion into just partying in the warp. From there we move to the hilariously uselessness of the Emperor’s children at the siege of terra (they did more for the loyalists than the traitors in function). After this we jump to the Emperor’s children post heresy with a focus on Lucius and Fabius Bile. We then close with the return of Fulgrim to the materium and the game of 40K.

[SPEAKER_03]: Welcome to the Forty K-Lorecast. [SPEAKER_02]: Welcome to the Forty Kaylorcast with me, John Barsati and Brad Chester. [SPEAKER_02]: This guy. [SPEAKER_02]: But today's cast will continue our dive into the Emperors Children, starting with the outset of the Horace Heresy, and that kind of about modern Forty Kay with them. [SPEAKER_02]: For those who are new to it, Forty Kaylorcast, a weekly podcast, folks in the lore of the Forty Kay universe, releasing every Monday at seven PM Eastern Time. [SPEAKER_01]: I love a father areas. [SPEAKER_01]: A few other areas, everyone. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, it's because I don't know. [SPEAKER_01]: Forty K. Lord cast after dark a few other areas. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, there's some random things that are there because I'm it's called future proofing bread. [SPEAKER_02]: It's called future proofing like we're recording this now in like in May, twenty twenty five, but so maybe listening to this and like [SPEAKER_02]: February, twenty twenty six and there's some different stuff there. [SPEAKER_02]: So I'm just trying to, you know, hedge my bets. [SPEAKER_02]: For those of you who enjoy the cast, please like and subscribe as always. [SPEAKER_02]: Also, please join our discord if you're looking for a place to interact. [SPEAKER_02]: It's a completely free server with everything really forty-k related. [SPEAKER_02]: The cast obviously is a big part of it, but so is video games, literature, et cetera. [SPEAKER_02]: It's designed to be a place that not only interact with us, but other other people who like the cast and about [SPEAKER_02]: topics that kind of distant encompasses the Forty K universe and all its different realms so we have thousands of people currently in there as it is today I think we're close to eight thousand right now with a lot of interactions so if you're looking for a place to come on give it a shot [SPEAKER_02]: Big shout to our mods who will stop naming so they don't get, you know, hunted down and kidding. [SPEAKER_02]: But big shout out to our mods for all their help. [SPEAKER_01]: Um, it's a very well happened bad. [SPEAKER_01]: If you just keep putting out your information, it's never backfire. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, exactly. [SPEAKER_02]: Maybe we should, maybe we should. [SPEAKER_02]: I should start with that be a fun one. [SPEAKER_02]: On today's cast, Brad reads the personal email addresses of all the mods of his scored. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, as then I just go, what I thought it was going to be a great idea. [SPEAKER_02]: This is where people can reach out to you guys directly. [SPEAKER_02]: Like, this is what was, am I not helping? [SPEAKER_02]: So let's get into the cast then. [SPEAKER_02]: quick recap from last week are originally known as the third legion the emperor's children were drawn from like the nobility classes of the conquered terror and they function similarly in a way to the nighthouses to focusing on marshal prowess perfection their goal was to show themselves to be the greatest warriors not the not the most depressed conquerors or anything to actually be the best the most exemplary i would actually argue that [SPEAKER_02]: of all of the fallen legions. [SPEAKER_02]: They were the one that the Emperor actually liked the most. [SPEAKER_02]: Emperor liked Horace the most, but I think he liked the Emperor's children the most of the fallen legions. [SPEAKER_01]: They didn't put up the biggest numbers because they were also big deal on style points. [SPEAKER_01]: That is a real thing. [SPEAKER_01]: They wanted to conquer perfectly with grace and style. [SPEAKER_01]: They didn't want to be crude. [SPEAKER_01]: Like they really didn't like, for instance, how the space was to have things or the dark angels because they thought they both of them were just [SPEAKER_01]: you know, non-precise hammers just derping about. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, exactly. [SPEAKER_02]: So what was nice for them is that they did write a little bit of a problem in which trays in the infinite stole all their gene seed, fun story though, but right afterwards they found full-groom their primarck. [SPEAKER_02]: full-groom, raised in a dying world, like a lot of the primarx were. [SPEAKER_02]: After uplifting its world, he discovers the beauty that exists in the galaxy, because he's able to, for the first time, see art, read literature, see paintings, like I already said art didn't I, but anyway, you guys, you all can get the point. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, he gets all these things. [SPEAKER_01]: I have to say that we've covered this a little bit in the last one, but Fulgrim is one of the primarchs that until he became the fall, he actually made his plan, and like significantly better. [SPEAKER_02]: He didn't just con- Oh yeah, he actually improved Kamo's quite a bit as opposed to cough cough ball. [SPEAKER_02]: But thanks. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, thanks. [SPEAKER_01]: In the thing, this is until he gets corrupted, too. [SPEAKER_01]: One of the biggest things I actually like about the early stories of Fulgram. [SPEAKER_01]: He's into art and beauty, but also he really values artisans. [SPEAKER_01]: People that are great at their craft, be it weapon masters, armorsmiths, you know, all of these things, great builders. [SPEAKER_01]: He has all of that. [SPEAKER_01]: So it's not like he just has, you know, a couple guys making paintings. [SPEAKER_01]: He had really, especially on his command ship. [SPEAKER_01]: He had everything there. [SPEAKER_02]: Well, that's actually, that's a great question. [SPEAKER_02]: Another key piece of this was his best friend being Ferris Manus. [SPEAKER_02]: So to Brad's point, it wasn't, it was perfection in everything. [SPEAKER_02]: So Ferris Manus is, you know, the prime mark of making weapons basically. [SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if you're in Vulcan does then, but that's a side note. [SPEAKER_02]: Important part here is that Fulgram meets Ferris Manus. [SPEAKER_02]: They become best friends and eventually this best friendship turns to hostility when Fulgram turns toward Horace. [SPEAKER_02]: At the same time, Slon Ash has been infiltrating his legion pretty aggressively and twisting and turning them into kind of, into being more her things, taking their strive for perfection and kind of perverting it into a twist and demented version of like, first what really is not really true, abudient anymore, but just endless amounts of excess. [SPEAKER_02]: That's how I, how I like to look at it is, they're from [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, they change, she changed it so much. [SPEAKER_01]: I just, sorry, I jumped all over that, but just I, I think that out of the legions, I mean, you could say, you know, more terian and the deaf guard encompassed her go, but they kind of get forced on them. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that this fall is my favorite fall because [SPEAKER_01]: They didn't mean to go to chaos. [SPEAKER_01]: They slowly because of their pride in all the faults that they had. [SPEAKER_01]: It came into Selenash and they just represented Selenash so well in the Lord and in the end of the game. [SPEAKER_02]: Well, the way I like to look at is that they move from being obsessed with perfection, to being obsessed with excess. [SPEAKER_02]: And those are two very different things, but come from the same place. [SPEAKER_02]: It's one became I care about how other people view me. [SPEAKER_02]: Other one became I care about what I receive. [SPEAKER_02]: And so, anyway, moving quickly to the end, Esteban, three happens that they kill half the legion. [SPEAKER_02]: Esteban five is the big one. [SPEAKER_02]: And on Esteban five, the Trader legions turned it finally, you know, spring the trap. [SPEAKER_02]: And Fulgrim, the last thing he does is he and Ferris Manis have a duel. [SPEAKER_02]: And during this duel, Fulgrim [SPEAKER_02]: Kind of kills him and by kind of what I mean is, Fulgrams had a demon sword that he got from the lair. [SPEAKER_02]: Many while back at Fuliz, Linesh corrupted Zino race. [SPEAKER_02]: and while standing above Ferris Manis, the demon sword itself just swung his arm, because it was sick of Fogram's delays and cut Ferris Manis' head off. [SPEAKER_02]: In doing so, Fogram stood there and saw his best friend to capitated, saw all the space marines all over the planet fighting, and became despondent, and the demon inside the sword offered him salvation. [SPEAKER_02]: and so Fulgram took it and the form of salvation he got was to have the demon possesses body and Fulgram be trapped inside the body just screaming trying to get out. [SPEAKER_01]: I would have more juice with this if this wasn't foreshadowing the first of several basically possessions that happened. [SPEAKER_02]: It's, it's, I will, I'll disagree. [SPEAKER_02]: He actually doesn't get possessed that much that often. [SPEAKER_02]: He gets kind of controlled. [SPEAKER_02]: He's only only two. [SPEAKER_02]: Right. [SPEAKER_02]: Well, continue on. [SPEAKER_02]: There's, well, we'll get. [SPEAKER_01]: There's like, there's times that you can argue with it. [SPEAKER_01]: There's a big time when we can argue when or whether he actually broke free or he. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, there's, there's like, repossessed multiple times in this first deal. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, because he's like, man, I was good all along. [SPEAKER_01]: We'll get to do it. [SPEAKER_02]: We'll get to it. [SPEAKER_02]: All right. [SPEAKER_02]: So let's take off then. [SPEAKER_02]: So back to today, to today. [SPEAKER_02]: So immediately after Esteban five, now a full-groom returns the vengeful spirit and requests an audience with Horace, just two of them. [SPEAKER_02]: Horace is like super happy about the success. [SPEAKER_02]: He's looking at Esteban five and saying, you know, this is incredible. [SPEAKER_02]: And he's giving full-groom all this pride. [SPEAKER_02]: At which point the demon who's possessing Fulgram says the Horace actually I did that because Fulgram lacked the capacity to do what was needed and but basically don't worry I've taken control now and that he was in lockstep with Horace the next few plans so Horace this is a weird moment for Horace because he immediately recognizes what he's talking to is not Fulgram but it is obviously a body of Fulgram [SPEAKER_02]: And so, of course, he, but he doesn't know anything about demonic possessions. [SPEAKER_02]: So he just asks the demon or the phlegm in front of him, hey, where is phlegm? [SPEAKER_02]: And the demon says, oh, don't worry, he's trapped inside my body and his screams of agony are actually quite fulfilling for me. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that was not the correct answer he was going to give. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: And Horace is just staring at this because he doesn't know what to do because Horace while giving himself over to chaos doesn't really understand chaos. [SPEAKER_02]: And so he's worried that if he just kills this thing in front of him, which he could have done easily, he'd kill Fulgram. [SPEAKER_02]: So he makes a vow privately and by privately, I mean in his own head to himself. [SPEAKER_02]: So the most private one you could possibly make, that he will free Fulgram from this imprisonment. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he puts that on this calendar for a future date. [SPEAKER_01]: Also to be fair. [SPEAKER_01]: This is the Diet Coke version of Fulgram, because while being possessed, this demon is not even remote. [SPEAKER_02]: Let's get to that. [SPEAKER_02]: Let's get there. [SPEAKER_02]: We'll get there. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, I'm saying Horace realized this also, not only is someone possessing his brother and he'd like to do something about it, but this is also Diet Coke, Fulgram. [SPEAKER_01]: So moving forward, he's like, I don't really like. [SPEAKER_02]: What I can like is that we have a bunch of listeners who be like, but I like Diet Coke. [SPEAKER_02]: Why does this have to be the bad version? [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I would actually really call the R.C. [SPEAKER_02]: Cola Fulgram. [SPEAKER_02]: You know, I think Diet Coke people like people at the Diet Coke's lovely. [SPEAKER_02]: I like on R.C. [SPEAKER_02]: Cola or something, but it's like some sort of you guys drink in Ohio. [SPEAKER_02]: You know, that's here. [SPEAKER_02]: You know, all anybody in saying clown posse if I'm with the Michigan was Fago soda. [SPEAKER_02]: And then I moved here and I was like, and I go to a grocery store. [SPEAKER_02]: I see Fago and I'm like, why is that in a grocery store? [SPEAKER_02]: And my wife's like, well, of course, it's Fago and I'm like, Oh, [SPEAKER_02]: In saying clown posse must just be from here. [SPEAKER_02]: I thought it was in saying clown possees soda. [SPEAKER_02]: I thought they made that soda. [SPEAKER_02]: And so I'm in like, you know, the major grocery chain. [SPEAKER_02]: I'm seeing a large collection of what I believed was the insane clown possees soda going. [SPEAKER_02]: Did I just move to a place where everyone listens to insane clown possees? [SPEAKER_02]: This could have been interesting. [SPEAKER_02]: Anyway, fun side note of the day. [SPEAKER_02]: So many jambilos. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, won't be the last side of the side note today. [SPEAKER_02]: All right. [SPEAKER_02]: So shortly after this moment, all the primarks who took part in the Esteban massacre, join Horos in the vengeful spirit, and those who work present kind of promoting via hologram. [SPEAKER_02]: And I do want to actually find a joke on that. [SPEAKER_02]: My brain, my first read this, you know, this is many, many years ago. [SPEAKER_02]: Now, in like, it's twenty, twenty, five. [SPEAKER_02]: The thought of this happening. [SPEAKER_02]: When the writers were doing this hologram in, I'm sure they were thinking, it's like, perfect, like, sci-fi holograms. [SPEAKER_02]: We're like, the magnet's holograms just staying there. [SPEAKER_02]: It's clean as hell. [SPEAKER_02]: But I keep thinking about like, a Zoom teams or Google meets call that we're all in. [SPEAKER_02]: We're like, you know, [SPEAKER_02]: Angron can't find the mute button, you know. [SPEAKER_02]: So much noise in the back there's just so much noise in the background guys like can't get to so could someone mute Angron please you know how farious is like like where are you except would be all fairies so it be curves like curves where are you and he's like he's like in like a duck to like sneak up the murder or he's murdering someone like you're watching him actually kill somebody while on the call like that's now thanks to the era how I view this moment you know or someone's [SPEAKER_02]: Someone's like, someone's using to ask man, two thousand, like type thing, they didn't know how to change it, because like the kid got in there ahead of time or, you know, so, so, anyway. [SPEAKER_02]: So the primarics, but the more important part of this story is all the primarics who are present enter the room. [SPEAKER_02]: Lordgar is one of them. [SPEAKER_02]: And remember, Lordgar, unlike everyone else, knows everything of everything else, because he wrote the book on it. [SPEAKER_01]: Second to be fair of the episode to be fair. [SPEAKER_01]: He also wrote the book on worshiping the Emperor that they still use to this day. [SPEAKER_02]: They just- That is true. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: He does have two books and they're very different. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: It's a weird dichotomy. [SPEAKER_01]: But I mean, he walks into the room and effectively goes, oh, look, demon possessed. [SPEAKER_01]: Just immediately. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: Just so Lord Gawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawaw [SPEAKER_02]: Horace steps in between them and Lordgar to his credit just goes, because Lordgar just goes whatever. [SPEAKER_02]: And assumes that Horace doesn't, the Horace thinks he's trying to kill Fulgram. [SPEAKER_02]: And he doesn't, and it's not until Horace says to him, you know, I know, leave it alone. [SPEAKER_02]: At which point, Lordgar to his credit gets super pissed off and walks out of the room. [SPEAKER_02]: And the reason he does though is interesting. [SPEAKER_02]: Lordgar, you know, [SPEAKER_02]: Lord God loves Chaos Corruption, loves it more than almost any other Prime Mark. [SPEAKER_02]: But what Lorgar knows is that in order to be chaos corrupted, you have to be weak. [SPEAKER_02]: It requires a weak soul for a chaos entity to take over your body. [SPEAKER_02]: And so his viewpoint was too full. [SPEAKER_02]: One, he first thought that, you know, no one's aware that we have a demon present, so I'm going to go walk that things, but. [SPEAKER_02]: And then two, Fulgram doesn't deserve to be here with us if he was able to be this easily possessed by a demon. [SPEAKER_02]: But anyway, actually, no, so the last thing, the one more thing. [SPEAKER_02]: Lord guard then after realizing Horace won't let him do what he wants to do, says, OK, I'm going to leave now. [SPEAKER_02]: This is the program. [SPEAKER_02]: But I'm going to go figure out your true name. [SPEAKER_02]: And when I come back, I'm going to banish you forever. [SPEAKER_01]: There was also a lot more of the plan coming on because Lurgar went, I'm also going to come out with a plan to backstab you eventually because I'm comically evil and wild by far my least favored primar continue. [SPEAKER_02]: It's not saying much. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, is he really wildly your least favorite primar? [SPEAKER_01]: I don't even put him in the running. [SPEAKER_01]: I like when I talk about who people I don't like. [SPEAKER_01]: I like, well, yeah, you don't count. [SPEAKER_02]: That's fair. [SPEAKER_02]: That's fair. [SPEAKER_02]: You might. [SPEAKER_02]: Lower guard is just I like. [SPEAKER_02]: I like. [SPEAKER_02]: Lower guard is from a plot narrative standpoint. [SPEAKER_02]: He doesn't really. [SPEAKER_02]: He's in these critical for it. [SPEAKER_02]: Where is like me? [SPEAKER_00]: Jesse. [SPEAKER_02]: Is he or his arabas? [SPEAKER_02]: No, Lord Garth. [SPEAKER_02]: Lord Garth's critical, arabas takes over a little bit more versus Jagadai Khan. [SPEAKER_02]: If we removed all Jagadai Khan from every that ever happened, what's the, it's not, his stories are good. [SPEAKER_02]: I'm not saying the books aren't well written and the stories about him are good, but he's so non-critical into development of the narrative. [SPEAKER_01]: I really want to play you with a seventh edition, white scars, ally, tau, detachment. [SPEAKER_02]: Anyway, to end the concave, Horus gives each prime mark their marching order. [SPEAKER_02]: And each of them are basically have to go out, solidify the war effort in one way or another, and then join him for the final assault on terror. [SPEAKER_02]: The Emperor's children, he gave a very simple task to, because they're not really, they don't really have a true primar. [SPEAKER_02]: And he knows this. [SPEAKER_02]: He just has, go to Mars and help the dark mechanic in their war against the mechanic. [SPEAKER_02]: So that, you know, we solidify this space. [SPEAKER_02]: And the demons and infuse for, Fulgram says, yeah, absolutely. [SPEAKER_02]: And makes zero effort to do that whatsoever. [SPEAKER_01]: All I have to say is in my mind, all I saw was Guardians of the Galaxy, and Full Group gave the rocket wink within. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it just goes, yeah, going to Mars for sure. [SPEAKER_01]: And he's like, you just winked at me when you did it. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'm definitely going to Mars. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: One hundred percent what I'm going to do. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you're like, so you're definitely not going there. [SPEAKER_02]: Okay. [SPEAKER_02]: Got it. [SPEAKER_02]: So. [SPEAKER_02]: Demon Fulgram decides that he wants to go to a mining world called Prismatica. [SPEAKER_02]: Why was it called Prismatica you ask? [SPEAKER_02]: Because it mind a very special crystal there that was extra reflective and shiny. [SPEAKER_02]: Like a prism, not all GW naming mechanics or winners, guys. [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, let's be honest, it's prismatic a five and at least they're not mining on obtaining. [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, it's okay. [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I'm sure this is all, this falls into the iron hands thing. [SPEAKER_02]: Well, he's got hands of iron. [SPEAKER_02]: So what does name ourselves that? [SPEAKER_02]: But the reason that demon wanted to do this was it wanted to take these crystals and build a giant structure out of them, because they're so reflective. [SPEAKER_02]: It was a giant temple of mirrors that you could walk through for nothing but self-adoration. [SPEAKER_02]: But as they're doing this journey, the Legion starts to get a little suspicious of their leader. [SPEAKER_01]: So, let me side on this because this is the story is actually pretty cool. [SPEAKER_01]: However, [SPEAKER_01]: He's wildly not full-grip, and every thing that he does, and it takes him so long to recognize this. [SPEAKER_01]: And you're just like, dude, come on, man. [SPEAKER_01]: Like, when you hover your mouse over the full-grip, it says clearly not full-grip on his title. [SPEAKER_02]: They're holding down alt so you can see all the pieces and it's just like, yeah, demon. [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, interesting. [SPEAKER_02]: So yeah, so it's with Legion, it's not noticing that Fogam's off because normally like he's hanging out with him, he's laughing and cheering and joining their company. [SPEAKER_02]: Like he was, Fogam was a very active leader, not, I mean, probably on par with Lehman Russ. [SPEAKER_01]: And it's also wildly a charismatic guy. [SPEAKER_01]: And he wasn't just his warriors. [SPEAKER_01]: He was involved with all the artists in the Mason, you know, everybody that he had on his ship, all these people he brought. [SPEAKER_01]: He was had his fingers in everything and all of a sudden he just didn't do any of it. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: Fogram now, all of a sudden, it's like a loner. [SPEAKER_02]: Like he's wandering around elsewhere, not interacting. [SPEAKER_02]: And the truth, like the other one, too, they talked about is he used to take a big part in all of their traditions and all their customs. [SPEAKER_02]: You know, like all of these guys, especially when they get uplift off of like camos, and some of the ones who came from Terra, they've got these like ways that they have like big meals and all that stuff. [SPEAKER_02]: Fulgram will take part in them because of course the demon doesn't know them. [SPEAKER_02]: When the demon possessed Fulgram, it didn't take over his mind to the inverse. [SPEAKER_02]: He just took the body and shoved his mind and his thoughts down into the lookout. [SPEAKER_01]: It's kind of my figure when they don't recognize it because he's just going, hello random citizen, is he walking down the halls and I'm like, it's like those comedies where the aliens are trying to act as people. [SPEAKER_02]: It's like, hello earthling. [SPEAKER_01]: What are you doing? [SPEAKER_01]: It in my mind, he's just got the Steve Bushemi. [SPEAKER_01]: Hello fellow students. [SPEAKER_01]: You're like, so like everybody realized that's not full good, right guys? [SPEAKER_01]: Okay, I just want to make sure we're on the safe bench. [SPEAKER_02]: The last little piece that that kind of, as I was pushing it over the edge, he gets really short tempered with his legion. [SPEAKER_02]: And what he's never been before. [SPEAKER_02]: He would, Fulcrum would always, because he wasn't one like the scorer criticized, because he was a noble. [SPEAKER_02]: He would inform them of any mistake they made. [SPEAKER_02]: And, but he would then, but his goal is to show him his superiority by saying, this is what you did wrong. [SPEAKER_02]: Here's what I would have done. [SPEAKER_02]: You should have been trying to do it that way. [SPEAKER_01]: said folk him just a dick he's just yelling at people screaming at them and it's probably let's go a little bit farther he was a dick but he was he was a tyrant dick he was starting to lord over people not in a noble way in a I'm a warlord and I've grabbed power and you should all be subservient [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and I think what where this really came to a big head, uh, get it in a second is when Lord Commander idle on is one of his top Lord commanders starts protesting when they're on Prismatic. [SPEAKER_02]: I'm saying, we were told to go to Mars. [SPEAKER_02]: We're nowhere near Mars. [SPEAKER_02]: What are you doing? [SPEAKER_02]: Like, we shouldn't be here. [SPEAKER_02]: We need to go help the war effort. [SPEAKER_02]: And Fogram starts screaming at him, accusing him of mocking him and challenging his knowledge and his this. [SPEAKER_02]: And I don't want to start back and down pretty quickly. [SPEAKER_02]: Like, well, I didn't, I just, you know, what the hell? [SPEAKER_02]: And then Fogram cuts his head off. [SPEAKER_02]: And then holds his head above a bunch of wine. [SPEAKER_02]: And then everyone drinks the wine, which is just weird. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, oh, compared to, I'll say back to that. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, look, whoa, you're current. [SPEAKER_00]: It's weird now. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, weird now. [SPEAKER_01]: Once we get down the road, like you would be like, I can't believe they did that. [SPEAKER_01]: And right now, they'd be like, why? [SPEAKER_01]: Because it's so lame and not even a big deal. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: And in like seven years, this is going to be like total normal. [SPEAKER_02]: Fun not to an idol on. [SPEAKER_02]: He did after cutting his head off, make Fabius Biles, so it back on in reanimatum. [SPEAKER_02]: And then I don't want to weird character. [SPEAKER_02]: We don't actually talk about him very much because he's a very strange character in Forty-K lore, because he kind of moves all over the place in power and knowledge, because it's some point. [SPEAKER_01]: Let's be honest, he got ridden by multiple authors, that's why. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and so some authors, a very version of Idleon post having his head cut off, was no change, and some of them were like, oh, he's basically like a person. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: So anyway, [SPEAKER_02]: Lucius though starts noticing the primarks really different and he and he starts being a more strategic at it. [SPEAKER_02]: Lucius's big thing was that he started beating the primarks when they were dueling and like Lucius is that that's swordsman in the Legion. [SPEAKER_02]: Pumpkin game too. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, but that's the point like like but the full-groom used to beat the crap out of him. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: Lucius is dancing around and playing with him to a point where Lucius starts getting concerned, he's going to endure the primarkin sparring. [SPEAKER_02]: That level. [SPEAKER_02]: Around the same time, Lucius starts having these dreams showing the primarkin trapped in a pain. [SPEAKER_02]: So he decides he gets a few of them together of his brothers together and they capture Fulgrim and knock him out. [SPEAKER_01]: How you do this? [SPEAKER_01]: This man is horrific. [SPEAKER_01]: Because he's like, again, the diet coke of Fulgrim. [SPEAKER_01]: It works. [SPEAKER_02]: But like R. C. Cola, stop. [SPEAKER_02]: Lots of people drink diet. [SPEAKER_02]: You drink diet Pepsi and you're like, oh, it's the diet Pepsi. [SPEAKER_02]: I was like, Dr. Pepper. [SPEAKER_02]: I drink diet Dr. Pepper. [SPEAKER_01]: If this is from Dr. Evil, he calls him the Diet Coke of Evil. [SPEAKER_01]: Come on. [SPEAKER_02]: I know that, but I know I'm just still giving you the whole. [SPEAKER_02]: Let's call it really is. [SPEAKER_01]: But I'm just saying that like this plan is terrible. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: It makes no sense. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he's like, hey man, let's get like two or three of us. [SPEAKER_01]: You're like, shouldn't follow him just completely wreck us when we try to jump on his back like children getting on dad. [SPEAKER_01]: You're like, yeah, hundred percent. [SPEAKER_01]: But they instantly knock him out. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, good, it's with nothing. [SPEAKER_02]: And they take in the Fabius Bial, and Fabius Bial has this great plan. [SPEAKER_02]: And we're going to cover Fabius Bial later in this cast, but Fabius Bial's plan is, of course, simply let's just torture him until it gets better. [SPEAKER_02]: That's his whole plan. [SPEAKER_02]: as they begin the torture, full-groom just goes, no, no, guys, it's cool. [SPEAKER_02]: It's me, full-groom. [SPEAKER_02]: Don't worry about it. [SPEAKER_02]: And he informs them all that he actually freed himself a while ago. [SPEAKER_02]: And he used this knowledge to banish the demon inside of into the painting. [SPEAKER_02]: And what Lucius's dreams were about was actually the demon in the painting, trying to trick all of them to knock full-groom out so that the demon could repossess him. [SPEAKER_02]: The bread's point, this makes [SPEAKER_02]: Absolutely no sense. [SPEAKER_02]: And this is now full-grams words. [SPEAKER_02]: I think any one of us who's read this book and read this story goes. [SPEAKER_02]: So basically the torture worked perfectly. [SPEAKER_02]: The demon got upset. [SPEAKER_02]: You repossessed it. [SPEAKER_02]: But rather than say, hey, thanks guys for saving me because I gave my soul over to a demon. [SPEAKER_02]: You had to go with, I was in control the whole time. [SPEAKER_02]: Really? [SPEAKER_02]: Then why are we on prismatic of five? [SPEAKER_01]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_01]: Like the, one hundred percent he did not gain control and do his stuff. [SPEAKER_01]: You were sad you got possessed. [SPEAKER_01]: Just say thank you to your most loyal of people in religion and embrace it instead of going, dudes, I already was escape. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm fine. [SPEAKER_01]: It's a master plan. [SPEAKER_02]: You're like, no, no, no, no, you're an idiot. [SPEAKER_02]: So at this point, Fulgram retakes control of his legion and they begin [SPEAKER_02]: sort of doing weird stuff. [SPEAKER_02]: That's the same that was thought of. [SPEAKER_01]: No, I ever as children fans, I know I'm shedding all over. [SPEAKER_01]: Fulgram when he's doing this. [SPEAKER_01]: However, that was a terrible plan and a bad story you're telling his next plan is actually legit. [SPEAKER_01]: He's got layers on layers of this plan. [SPEAKER_02]: It works really well. [SPEAKER_02]: This one does work actually works perfectly if I'm being honest. [SPEAKER_02]: Pettarabo. [SPEAKER_02]: So Pettarabo, Prime Mark of the Iron Warriors, was kind of always the odd man out in this trader campaign. [SPEAKER_02]: He just wanted to go stick at the local door. [SPEAKER_02]: All of the other ones, Conrad curves, yeah, of course, chaos. [SPEAKER_02]: Angron, yeah, of course, chaos. [SPEAKER_02]: Mortarian, it was a bit more of a tragic story, but yeah, chaos, same with Magnus, yeah, chaos, Lorgar, yeah, chaos. [SPEAKER_02]: I'm missing anyone now. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, Horace obviously, chaos. [SPEAKER_02]: I'm gonna hold them, right? [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: Right, didn't miss any. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that's all them. [SPEAKER_02]: Petarabos, the weird one. [SPEAKER_02]: And so Petarabos kind of like just actually taking this revolution seriously. [SPEAKER_02]: He's again, we're gonna wage a war campaign, do all this stuff. [SPEAKER_02]: But Petarabos also does have a little bit of an inferiority complex within all these legions. [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, sorry, I forgot about alpha legions. [SPEAKER_02]: All right, also, alpha legions is alpha legion. [SPEAKER_02]: Like they weren't a chaos. [SPEAKER_00]: Legion, they were just they like, man independent. [SPEAKER_00]: They were neutral. [SPEAKER_00]: They were great Jedi. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, so anyway. [SPEAKER_02]: Fulgram goes to Petarabo and says, Hey, I got some good news for you. [SPEAKER_02]: I've got a way to actually make you guys, you're in your legions perfect. [SPEAKER_02]: You'll never lose, you'll never fail. [SPEAKER_02]: You know, basically, you'll stop being second-fiddle to everybody else. [SPEAKER_02]: Just come join me because there's a special weapon within the eye of terror called the angel exterminatus. [SPEAKER_02]: Help me get this weapon and we can power our legions to a level known as ever seen before. [SPEAKER_02]: So Petarabo, who's an idiot, says yes. [SPEAKER_02]: They travel to an Elder Crone World that would destroy during the creation of Sloan Ash. [SPEAKER_02]: Fun important notes can jump up later. [SPEAKER_02]: They're being pursued this whole time by a group of survivors of this fun five, which there's more survivors of this fun five than you'd expect. [SPEAKER_02]: But anyway, on a ship called the Sissa Fiam, which was just a star to use who were on a suit. [SPEAKER_02]: We covered this by the way guys, as you mentioned, some of us are going to cover. [SPEAKER_02]: We covered in like episode three or four, but I'm not going to sit there in episode eighty six and say as you remember an episode and episode and episode a year and a half ago, I would definitely do that though. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, so I just come this way. [SPEAKER_02]: Guys, we're going to recap some stuff pretty quickly. [SPEAKER_02]: I'm keeping it shorter, but just letting you, we're going to recap some stuff so people don't have to go and listen back to an episode from like a year and a half ago where I didn't like the audio as much. [SPEAKER_02]: This other group of, of a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I've got it, John. [SPEAKER_01]: Everybody wears this visus on a suicide mission to get revenge. [SPEAKER_01]: And also, the ship was on a suicide machine. [SPEAKER_01]: Huh? [UNKNOWN]: No. [SPEAKER_02]: So upon reaching the Crone World, the planet is vacant. [SPEAKER_02]: Pedarabo immediately is suspicious and starts moving forward really slowly, like basically trying to fortify his position as they're going because he knows that there's that this shouldn't be vacant. [SPEAKER_02]: Soon as they breach the innermost inner sanctum, the Eldar protectors wake up. [SPEAKER_02]: And this is one thing that happened a lot of Crone Rolls. [SPEAKER_02]: Any sort of spirit host that were there, they were all incredibly dormant, but should they detect slenash, they would wake up in attack, in order to protect whatever relics they had there. [SPEAKER_02]: So out of nowhere, [SPEAKER_02]: They're under both Petarabo, his legion, full-groom, and his legion are under attack. [SPEAKER_02]: That's the full legion with them, obviously. [SPEAKER_02]: But a large number of them are under massive attack from, yeah, it's a pretty heavy duty elder at this point, too. [SPEAKER_02]: These are all very motivated spirit hosts. [SPEAKER_01]: Go back to what happened before they went down because this is so comically awesome on this. [SPEAKER_01]: I made something for you. [SPEAKER_02]: Just wear this. [SPEAKER_02]: Well, it's just random too. [SPEAKER_02]: So fine. [SPEAKER_02]: Before they go down to the planet, fullroom walks of the Pettarabo and you know, says I gave you a gift, which I assume came or came or off with the skill of, hey, I made you this wear it. [SPEAKER_02]: And it was a cloak with a special stone in it called the Mao Gator stone. [SPEAKER_02]: And of course, Petrava puts it on. [SPEAKER_02]: That stone is not decorative at all. [SPEAKER_02]: It's instead meant to sap the life and energy out of Petrava and transfer it over to Fulgrin. [SPEAKER_01]: In my mind, there's just an actual visual, like, tether going straight to Fulgrin down from him. [SPEAKER_02]: Well, and what's interesting is they talk about the entire time they're together. [SPEAKER_02]: Peter Abund notice is that Fulgram and his legion look odd. [SPEAKER_02]: It's the term they were sweating light. [SPEAKER_02]: They were just it was energy like a light kind of just shining off all of them. [SPEAKER_02]: It looked weird dim. [SPEAKER_02]: It probably was the that the stone he was wearing sucking his life force out of watch it going to them. [SPEAKER_02]: So, Pettarabo doesn't fully trust Fulgram. [SPEAKER_02]: He trust him enough to put on the cloaky gave him and keep following. [SPEAKER_01]: And go into a dark alley with him. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Hey man, meet me behind the building in the alley. [SPEAKER_01]: Don't worry. [SPEAKER_01]: Also wear this when you go back there. [SPEAKER_02]: And could you hop in that ice bath right there and just keep your kidneys cold? [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: All right. [SPEAKER_02]: So out of nowhere, of course, Fulgrim attacks Petarabo. [SPEAKER_02]: And with his life force just sucked from him, Fulgrim has beaten their living hell out of Petarabo and knocks him to the ground. [SPEAKER_02]: Fulgrim tells Petarabo that the weapon he's searching for is actually himself, Fulgrim. [SPEAKER_02]: And he was going to ascend to a perfect being by using Petarabo to get him there. [SPEAKER_01]: So Fulgrim has a cool speech, by the way. [SPEAKER_02]: It's like, oh, it's a good speech. [SPEAKER_02]: Petarabo is not about that. [SPEAKER_02]: And decides to use his remaining strength to stand up and confront Fulgram. [SPEAKER_02]: And he takes off the cloak and his gift and throws it across the room. [SPEAKER_02]: That was his great move. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: Anyway, at the exact same time, the sesame crew attack. [SPEAKER_02]: They basically let [SPEAKER_02]: full-groom and pederavo take a little bit of a beating from the elder and they shoot and they kind of swoop in to kill as many of these traitorist artists they possibly can. [SPEAKER_02]: One of them though, while standing there shooting around looks down and sees the malgatar stone, just kind of there on the ground and decides just to shoot it. [SPEAKER_02]: For no real reason, just sees a glowing rock. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm getting my chin together here because I'm gonna rage just a second. [SPEAKER_01]: Just a tiny one. [SPEAKER_01]: Why is the slow-sucking gem made of cheap glass? [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: It takes one boulder shot and he destroys this soul-sucking stone. [SPEAKER_01]: Really? [SPEAKER_02]: It's just a completely have another piece that so couldn't pederabo have just broken his hand. [SPEAKER_02]: He might have accidentally broke it with his hand. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, we threw it across the room. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, if you throw it against a wall, it would have shattered. [SPEAKER_02]: So anyway, that happens and suddenly all [SPEAKER_02]: It's weird. [SPEAKER_02]: Apparently the energy transferred to Fulgrim wasn't permanent. [SPEAKER_02]: So as soon as the stone breaks, all the energy comes out of Fulgrim and goes right back into Petarabo. [SPEAKER_02]: And Petarabo gets up, picks up his Warhammer and just decides to beat Fulgrim to death. [SPEAKER_02]: And he does. [SPEAKER_02]: He actually kills Fulgrim with his Warhammer, sort of. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, well, this is where I think it's a cool, cool plan though, because this was Fulgram one of the entire time. [SPEAKER_01]: But he had to be here. [SPEAKER_01]: I think he had to have that much power juiced up in this place for his ritual because he ascends into a demon primer. [SPEAKER_01]: He jumps up, transformed into what he is now. [SPEAKER_01]: A forearm purple snake that looks amazing on the table, it's pretty cool. [SPEAKER_01]: uh... he he shows up in his new form and that's what he wanted to be in the first place he needed this he needed his old by the way struck down he needed to be here with the power this is all ritualistic on this [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, the way it's described is that he shed his mortal shell, because he became, now, don't forget, the Lair, who were the ones who corrupted in the first place were a reptilian race, so that he, it's almost like, Fulgram now has become a Lair. [SPEAKER_02]: He is now a reptile. [SPEAKER_02]: He has shed his skin and now he is a new version of himself. [SPEAKER_02]: So upon achieving this goal, quick little side note, full-groom just teleports out. [SPEAKER_02]: He just does, he's, like, him and his, entirely just go, just go dooses and disappear. [SPEAKER_02]: Petarabo can't do that. [SPEAKER_02]: He has to flee. [SPEAKER_02]: And two Petarabo's, you know, credit as they're trying to flee a black, this whole plant has no black hole. [SPEAKER_02]: And he can't escape the gravity of the black hole. [SPEAKER_02]: So he says iron warriors never move backwards. [SPEAKER_02]: They always move forward. [SPEAKER_02]: He turns his fleet around and shoots itself into the black hole. [SPEAKER_02]: And then obviously he doesn't die here, so it's a good move. [SPEAKER_02]: But I also want to point out, the next time Petra was sees Fulgrim, he doesn't beat there for living hell out of him. [SPEAKER_02]: He just sees him like the later, the bridge, the vengeful spirit, take together. [SPEAKER_02]: And Petra Robo doesn't just pick up a thunder hammer and beat the hell out of Fulgrim. [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, makes me to be, to be fair, he is a giant form lizard now. [SPEAKER_01]: And Brutarabo has not ascended at this point. [SPEAKER_01]: And I mean, [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, it's still work. [SPEAKER_02]: I don't know. [SPEAKER_02]: There's a level. [SPEAKER_02]: Yes. [SPEAKER_02]: Have some have something. [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, also a program could have been like, hey, man, don't make it weird. [SPEAKER_01]: Just let it happen. [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, I'm sure it's what it's for. [SPEAKER_02]: We're staying like, hey, man, come on. [SPEAKER_02]: That was like six months ago on the way. [SPEAKER_02]: He's still upset about it. [SPEAKER_01]: I got to bring up whole shit. [SPEAKER_02]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_02]: So after shedding his mortal form and ascending, Fulgram goes into the warp to join up with the forces of Slanesh inside. [SPEAKER_02]: He pops out of the warp for like little kind of events, but they're really all, they're all anti-climactic events that are done [SPEAKER_02]: for it is more for the writers to kind of show how much power, full-gramid got. [SPEAKER_02]: And so what I call anti-climactic, what I mean is like, for example, he's doing a battle with, I want to say it was actually the salamanders. [SPEAKER_02]: And in this battle, he actually blows up a thunderhawk with his psychic powers. [SPEAKER_02]: He was never that likely, likely, power before. [SPEAKER_02]: The House Knights of Daven, who were, it was a night world. [SPEAKER_02]: He actually corrupted all of them. [SPEAKER_02]: to being agents of slenish. [SPEAKER_02]: So he does a lot of a lot of these little things, but they were all like not like critical to the war effort. [SPEAKER_02]: Like those things never happened. [SPEAKER_02]: The story wouldn't matter. [SPEAKER_02]: They're written as a way if you're reading the novel full-groom, which is a good novel. [SPEAKER_02]: And some of the other ones that he just appears in, you just see how much power he gains from being this close to slenish. [SPEAKER_02]: But there is one pretty big one he's part of. [SPEAKER_02]: And this involves Lurgar. [SPEAKER_01]: So, hold on, hold on. [SPEAKER_01]: Let's give this a little thing of why it's set up. [SPEAKER_01]: Hey, all this stuff that Fulgram's doing, Horace, not super cool with it. [SPEAKER_01]: Since he went, hey, man, go over here and he went, yeah, got it. [SPEAKER_01]: And then did everything but go over there. [SPEAKER_02]: That's a fun part. [SPEAKER_02]: So the Horace Harrisy lasts, I believe, seven years, correct? [SPEAKER_02]: and seven years on like day five of the Horus Heresy, Horus told Fulgrim to go to Mars. [SPEAKER_02]: Fulgrim never goes to Mars ever. [SPEAKER_02]: Not one. [SPEAKER_02]: In fact, I actually not'll wear correct me. [SPEAKER_02]: Guys, feel free to correct me and go to disagree. [SPEAKER_02]: I don't. [SPEAKER_02]: I'm not aware of Fulgrim ever going to Mars in the history of whatever. [SPEAKER_02]: I don't think he's ever even been there. [SPEAKER_01]: If you're a by it, he's right. [SPEAKER_02]: I don't think he's ever been to Mars. [SPEAKER_02]: Anyway, it's just a funny note on that one. [SPEAKER_02]: We'll be right back after a quick break. [SPEAKER_02]: So Horus is getting pissed and just says someone, go get Fulgram. [SPEAKER_02]: In Lorgar being the most apt to chaos knows where he is. [SPEAKER_02]: And it says, I'll go get him. [SPEAKER_02]: I know where he's at. [SPEAKER_02]: And Lorgar goes to basically what is effectively the den of Slonesh and finds Fulgram there. [SPEAKER_02]: Happy as a clam. [SPEAKER_02]: It explains to him, hey, [SPEAKER_02]: Horace says you got to go, you know, basically anyone who has a kid, it's the, hey, it's time for bed. [SPEAKER_02]: Let's go. [SPEAKER_02]: And a full game just goes, nah. [SPEAKER_02]: I'm not tired, dad. [SPEAKER_02]: I'm not tired. [SPEAKER_02]: This is, and actually to me, it's quit it. [SPEAKER_02]: Full game literally calls the Horace Harrisy boring. [SPEAKER_02]: Orin, which I love that is moved like, yeah, nah, I'm not about that boring stuff. [SPEAKER_02]: Because instead of, to be fair, as you love to say, fullgrams haven't the time of his life. [SPEAKER_02]: He is over in, he's learned about the great game, which is like the endless war between the gods of chaos. [SPEAKER_02]: And he is on team slenish, have an a party. [SPEAKER_02]: He is taking land and messing with stuff. [SPEAKER_02]: He's causing nothing but problems for the other chaos gods. [SPEAKER_02]: And in return, Slonash is giving him anything and everything he could ever want. [SPEAKER_02]: You know, just name it, I'll create it for you. [SPEAKER_02]: This is awesome way better than going back to the material and having like fight space marines. [SPEAKER_02]: That crap sucks. [SPEAKER_02]: So he goes, no. [SPEAKER_02]: And tells Lord Gard a piss off. [SPEAKER_02]: Let's see how to taunt him a second time. [SPEAKER_02]: But Lorgar actually wasn't there to do Horace's bidding. [SPEAKER_02]: He was there to enact his own plan. [SPEAKER_02]: And that plan he wanted to enact was actually to kill Horace and supplant him with himself. [SPEAKER_02]: More in that in a second. [SPEAKER_02]: So while Fulgrams waxing and waning about like how boring the material is and how it doesn't want to go anywhere, Lorgar's associate Lack sneaks up and speaks Fulgrams true. [SPEAKER_02]: Demon name. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, my favorite part about this and I'm going to call you out as I love it. [SPEAKER_01]: I love the fact that you said associate like he's like a junior executive in the law firm. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, I'm going to have here is [SPEAKER_01]: That's a very good point. [SPEAKER_02]: I do write these notes like either before work or after work and unfortunately you are dead right on that one because that's how I write because it work I will use those terms and so on. [SPEAKER_02]: Fine. [SPEAKER_02]: Anyway, but yeah, so Leic does this and in some ways he doesn't really possess Lord doesn't really possess Fulgram, but he now gains full control of Fulgram. [SPEAKER_02]: Fulgram is enslaved to him. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, it's the again. [SPEAKER_02]: Of course. [SPEAKER_02]: So, Fulgram snaps to and him and his entire legion go to the meeting, which is on Ulnar. [SPEAKER_02]: Olonor is going to be the great staging ground for the final assault on terror. [SPEAKER_02]: Once there, Lorgar's plan was to have Leic order full-groom to surprise attack Horace from behind and kill him, because then the chaos gods would choose Lorgar to be the champion. [SPEAKER_01]: There's a small problem with this in his logic, and that problem is, Lorgar sucks a tornado. [SPEAKER_02]: He's no one would ever do this. [SPEAKER_01]: No, he literally goes taking over from Horace and everybody went seriously dude. [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, like, you're not even a top. [SPEAKER_01]: We're super busy here. [SPEAKER_01]: Like, we're not even acknowledging that they are doing this. [SPEAKER_02]: There are eight of us on this team, and you don't make the top ten. [UNKNOWN]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: So whatever, but what ends up happening is that Leic did knew this plan was a terrible idea and didn't want to get murdered by Horace. [SPEAKER_02]: So Leic had released Fulgram like weeks ago at this point. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, like as soon as they went into the material. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: They were like, hey, man, you still got to go back to Horus, but. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: So Lord guard launches his great plan and phlegm just basically stands there and waves at him. [SPEAKER_02]: Like, no, and I think Lack may have given him the middle finger. [SPEAKER_02]: And then a very, very angry Horus beats the ever-living ship. [SPEAKER_01]: He put seven different finishing moves. [SPEAKER_01]: There's a arcane on it, nowhere. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Old Hogan leg drop. [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, he's pummeling him. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, probably. [SPEAKER_01]: Nineteenth out of the eighteen prime marks in the handhannability and he's facing. [SPEAKER_01]: Crine juiced up. [SPEAKER_02]: Yes. [SPEAKER_02]: It doesn't go well. [SPEAKER_02]: To his credit, Horace doesn't kill him. [SPEAKER_02]: He just banishes him, which I did like as Lord God then gets banished. [SPEAKER_02]: So he turns to his legions. [SPEAKER_02]: He says, OK, we're out of here, guys. [SPEAKER_02]: And the entire legion just turned in pointed Arabists and say, no, we're going to hang out with him instead. [SPEAKER_02]: So Lord God has to go into the warp by himself. [SPEAKER_02]: I think his dad even stayed behind. [SPEAKER_02]: Right? [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, because he had to get core fair on even was like, no, like I'm out. [SPEAKER_02]: Like I'm out. [SPEAKER_01]: Airbus is just twisting his comically evil mustache. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: So, Father, how did you not see this one? [SPEAKER_01]: Largar literally said him to all of the planets with plans to do stuff and he didn't see this one. [SPEAKER_02]: Come on. [SPEAKER_02]: Let's lower. [SPEAKER_02]: So now let's go to the siege of terror. [SPEAKER_02]: And this is a fun one to me because by the time they get the siege of terror, the emperor's children are a tactically useless army. [SPEAKER_01]: No, no, no, no. [SPEAKER_01]: They were worse than tactical uses because they actually interfere with the plans. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: And eventually let's have some fun. [SPEAKER_01]: The ball. [SPEAKER_02]: Let's get there in a minute for the first part to the best. [SPEAKER_02]: So the first thing happens is full groom. [SPEAKER_02]: is on the bridge of the vengeful spirit, everybody else. [SPEAKER_02]: And he's just bored. [SPEAKER_02]: That's what he is. [SPEAKER_02]: He finds his entire thing boring. [SPEAKER_02]: But he looks over. [SPEAKER_02]: And he sees that Angron is losing his mind over not being the first one down to being able to fight. [SPEAKER_02]: And just goes, well, this could be fun. [SPEAKER_02]: And wanders over to Angron or slithers over to Angron. [SPEAKER_02]: And starts talking to him about all the glory and combat he's missing out. [SPEAKER_02]: And it McMahon is it basically saying, like, oh, is it because you and your lesion would suck at this? [SPEAKER_02]: And so, but luckily, you know, the night lords are down there, you know, and oh, look, look, the deathguard are really doing great. [SPEAKER_02]: Good for more tearing. [SPEAKER_02]: I'm so happy that he's down there doing this, because if we'd sent you, there's no way it would have succeeded. [SPEAKER_02]: And, and gross. [SPEAKER_01]: Yet I remember he gave him the actual line of [SPEAKER_01]: Don't worry, those legions are basking in the glory of this. [SPEAKER_02]: Yes. [SPEAKER_02]: I forgot about that part. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: Angron, to the, he does this until Angron gets so upset that he starts ripping apart his own ship and destroying the ship to which point they have to take Angron and shove him over into Conrad Cursus secret labyrinth in his ship, which he also pseudo destroys, by the way, an Angron of he really didn't suit a strike. [SPEAKER_01]: He did wreck it. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I think, like Angron took this can of soda and shook it to the highest level, possibly could be shook. [SPEAKER_02]: The next part, though, is that once that happens, he's still bored. [SPEAKER_02]: So, Fogram slithers over to Pedro Robo, who's there overseeing the entire battle plan and decides to bother him. [SPEAKER_02]: And they start asking about, like, why are you resisting all the gifts of chaos? [SPEAKER_02]: It's such a showing off all the cool things he has. [SPEAKER_02]: Like literally showing off, like, he's like shadow boxing and doing karate and yelling, hey, hey, better, I'm gonna check this out. [SPEAKER_02]: I can also do this now. [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, and check this out. [SPEAKER_02]: Look, I could do two back flips now. [SPEAKER_02]: Like this is the, or holding up his sword showing, saying, look how shiny my sword is. [SPEAKER_02]: You could have a shiny sword too. [SPEAKER_02]: Just join chaos. [SPEAKER_02]: Useless crap. [SPEAKER_02]: And everyone finally just has enough. [SPEAKER_01]: I like the, in my mind though, Puerto Ravo has like seven hundred screens up that he's. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, complete. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, giving information, you know, giving different tactics to each and every one and the entire time. [SPEAKER_01]: programs behind him, just poking, going, dude, but seriously, I could throw this ball over those mountains over there. [SPEAKER_02]: I have a young child. [SPEAKER_02]: I've had tried to have conversations when he needs to tell me something. [SPEAKER_02]: That's what that was what the writers when they wrote this, that writer had a child, a young child or had multiple young children, in a sense, where it's like when they want to tell you something. [SPEAKER_02]: That's exactly how I view the program at this point. [SPEAKER_02]: So eventually, everyone, [SPEAKER_02]: Just says that's it, get him out of here. [SPEAKER_02]: And they tell him, all right, full-groom emperors children, you're turned to go, go down there and lay siege the castle, which they promptly do, not even in the slightest. [SPEAKER_02]: They just, they land, look at the giant wall filled with guns, primarks, force fields, and other stuff, and just go nah and walk the other direction into the horde of unprotected human beings. [SPEAKER_01]: You have to use what I always use when I'm describing this. [SPEAKER_01]: Everybody was attacking the most fortified place in the galaxy and the Emperor's children invaded the gap. [SPEAKER_01]: You basically went to the mall with people folding shirts and they just went, why are you here and went sucks to be you. [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, you had the entire public's worth, but there's a massive populace who are surrounding the Emperor's castle and their solution was like, oh crap, it's a giant war over there. [SPEAKER_02]: Let's all just go this other way. [SPEAKER_02]: And they all went that way. [SPEAKER_02]: Like, hey, it's kind of nice over here. [SPEAKER_02]: You know, obviously there's orbital bombardments happening, but [SPEAKER_02]: It looks like these guys really just care about that Emperor dude. [SPEAKER_02]: Let's just keep going this way. [SPEAKER_02]: And suddenly, a hundred thousand plus space marines come roaring at them, screaming with chains swords and everything else ready to do some hardcore killing. [SPEAKER_02]: So the cities of Terra at this point start to resemble like the Eldar world's just before the fall, but with demons added to it. [SPEAKER_02]: There is torture, mutilation, terror, or unleases population. [SPEAKER_02]: The Emperor's children do so much of this that it actually creates a gap in reality, where demons, demonets primarily burst through and become present on terror for the first time in history. [SPEAKER_02]: They're descent into this depravity, did get stalled momentarily, because Abadhan, with resurrected idalon, convinces [SPEAKER_02]: Fulgrim to go back to the actual battle and fight. [SPEAKER_02]: So Abad on his crew could sneak in below, you know, for that we talked about this on in the Cijatera. [SPEAKER_02]: It feels mutually, by the way. [SPEAKER_00]: Fulgrim is there. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, well, because Fulgrim originally was like, no, but this is more fun. [SPEAKER_02]: But they inform him the place they're going to do battle is where Rogledorn is. [SPEAKER_02]: And that was a duel that Fulgrim wanted because Rougal, probably of the primarx there, it's Rougal and Sanguenius were the two best fighters and Fulgrim once some of each of them actually. [SPEAKER_02]: So cool thing about this story is this is actually one of the ones I liked a lot. [SPEAKER_02]: A full-groomed for this takes the lead to back and actually turns himself back into human form. [SPEAKER_02]: He's not a snake when he fights rogule. [SPEAKER_02]: And this is I expect because he wanted like to you wanted Dorn to lose to the lesser version of himself. [SPEAKER_02]: Problem for a full-groom, Dorn can throw down, guys. [SPEAKER_02]: Dorn is a badass. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: Don't worry, guys. [SPEAKER_02]: We're getting close to a cast where Brad's got to accept the fact that Dorn is one of the best fighters of all the Browns. [SPEAKER_02]: It's just true. [SPEAKER_02]: So they go back to the gate. [SPEAKER_02]: They're fighting Dorn obviously does appear and should have mentioned that. [SPEAKER_02]: And these two start having a duel. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, here's the throw it's on on this because it's a big deal. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I say a big deal too much, but whatever. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm never going to change. [SPEAKER_01]: Hi. [SPEAKER_01]: Dorn's winning this fight, but full-groom again, his primary power is regeneration. [SPEAKER_02]: He's demon primary power. [SPEAKER_02]: He always had it, but with a demon primary, it's even almost grotesque. [SPEAKER_01]: Right. [SPEAKER_01]: He's just instant regenerating everything that's happening to him. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: Dorn is wrecking him, actually. [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, cutting big holes in him blasting, doing a lot of damage, but every single time they're just instantly heals. [SPEAKER_02]: But the flip side is, Fulgram can't seem to harm Dorn back because Dorn is that bad of a fighter. [SPEAKER_02]: I also put out Dorn had like, I don't know, twenty hours earlier, single handed a greater demon by himself. [SPEAKER_02]: So, you know, up in space. [SPEAKER_02]: So, there are a stand still. [SPEAKER_02]: But while this is happening, Abadon's secret plan of attacking under the fortress, Discovery's eat was a trap, the entire time, and it fails miserably. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's a full-groom because of his, like, various detects this and goes, oh, so this battle's not gonna end. [SPEAKER_02]: All right, we're going back to the pile, guys. [SPEAKER_02]: And it just, it actually gives Doran the middle finger and leaves. [SPEAKER_02]: in the middle of their duel. [SPEAKER_02]: He sends a few guys into Kill Dorn, who don't wrecks by the way. [SPEAKER_02]: And then him and his legion go back to the civilian population. [SPEAKER_02]: I just start grabbing every single person they can and loading them onto their ships and head to the audience. [SPEAKER_02]: It was deansly millions. [SPEAKER_02]: But he does this well before the Emperor jumps the eventual spirit. [SPEAKER_02]: The Emperor's children just go out. [SPEAKER_02]: Like we're good. [SPEAKER_02]: We're going to get our own thing and they all leave. [SPEAKER_01]: Let's recap that though. [SPEAKER_01]: How much did you help the siege of Terra? [SPEAKER_01]: And you're like negative forty because you screwed up the plans. [SPEAKER_01]: You didn't follow anything. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it was. [SPEAKER_02]: He did more for the siege of Terra than Jakarta Condon. [SPEAKER_02]: Jagged icon remember Jagged icon was standing on the fortress and everyone said just stand here. [SPEAKER_02]: We've got this he went. [SPEAKER_02]: What if instead of standing behind the force field? [SPEAKER_02]: Me and all my buddies run out through a gate to go fight. [SPEAKER_02]: I think it was more tearing up. [SPEAKER_02]: It's tearing up. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, only to get our asses kicked so bad that Sengwinius has to fly down from the gate and pick me up and bring me back, but all my dudes still died. [SPEAKER_02]: That was better for the the trader forces than all of Fulgram did combined. [SPEAKER_02]: Anyway, coming forward, the next stage kind of in the Emperor's children's story is about a couple hundred years after the siege of terror. [SPEAKER_02]: All the traitor legions eventually end up back in the eye of terror. [SPEAKER_02]: And once they get there, a new thing begins called the Legion Wars. [SPEAKER_02]: And this is because the legions as they're, you know, no one really wants to go back to the eye of terror except for a couple of them. [SPEAKER_02]: Most of them just, they're all supposed to go though. [SPEAKER_02]: They're being pursued at this point. [SPEAKER_02]: The ultramarines, the space was in the dark angels. [SPEAKER_02]: Dark angels are at full strength, by the way, and are just hunting them down. [SPEAKER_02]: So there's really nowhere to go, but the one place those guys can't go. [SPEAKER_02]: So they all end up there. [SPEAKER_02]: When they get there though, they're pretty badly beaten up. [SPEAKER_02]: They've lost really a lot of their ability. [SPEAKER_02]: There are no cloning worlds anymore. [SPEAKER_02]: They're pretty jacked up. [SPEAKER_02]: So they begin having, like, you'd expect an internal war over power and resources. [SPEAKER_02]: And this is known as the Legion Wars. [SPEAKER_02]: You know, loot equipment, get slaves, whatever you can do. [SPEAKER_02]: The issue, though, initially, [SPEAKER_02]: is that the emperors children are not beaten and broken at all. [SPEAKER_02]: They're straight. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, total fortune because they just bail. [SPEAKER_02]: They're like, yeah, we're just gonna grab all these things. [SPEAKER_02]: And so while the other regions were fighting, the emperors, the emperors, the emperors, Legion were conquering. [SPEAKER_02]: So all these years, legions then get back and discover pretty quickly. [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, crap. [SPEAKER_02]: I now have to fight other trader legions and one of them is grossly overpowered. [SPEAKER_02]: You but good news is jealousy and envy. [SPEAKER_02]: are the key parts of the, of the, of the Emperor's legion at this point. [SPEAKER_02]: That's right, of the Emperor's children at this point. [SPEAKER_02]: So while they had the most slaves, the most resources, the most everything, they were the least unified of the trader legions, except for maybe the world leaders at this stage. [SPEAKER_02]: It's something that we're going to cover that later, guys, but that's the only one I could, I could see. [SPEAKER_02]: And so the interesting thing happens in the warp at this point. [SPEAKER_02]: The Legion Wars begin in earnest and what happens a lot of the legions who can kind of sequester themselves into the pockets of the warp that are most protected by their gods. [SPEAKER_02]: You know, the deathguard guys go to where Nergal is, world years to corn, thousands of disease. [SPEAKER_02]: This kept them a little bit safe, but not massively. [SPEAKER_01]: And it's a big deal on this, the because of the fact that when you're in the full zone of your God's area, you were so much more powerful. [SPEAKER_01]: So like these, right, more is we're kind of handling the neutral zones most of the time. [SPEAKER_02]: That's a great point. [SPEAKER_02]: If you try to pursue me, if you're powered by corn and you pursue me until at the realm of zzege, not only does corn's power stop affecting you, so your power level goes down, but my power goes up because I'm close to zzege, so you can't actually come into those regions. [SPEAKER_02]: Um, but during this time, the interesting thing is this is actually becomes the second founding of the chaos space. [SPEAKER_01]: So accidentally because what you have is a whole bunch of chaos would be lords. [SPEAKER_01]: Chaos lords and demon princes start to just get war bands. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, also the old rules for creating a war band were fantastic. [SPEAKER_01]: This is twenty years ago, but whatever. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but that you start to form these war bands and they kind of like when we did the road trader, there's a huge difference between some of the war bands where [SPEAKER_01]: You know, we're not doing much stuff. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: It was show on the Eric, Mike, Mike and Bob, like, oh, okay. [SPEAKER_02]: We're over. [SPEAKER_02]: It's like a high school click. [SPEAKER_02]: Like, yeah, yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: We're going to be best buds for life. [SPEAKER_02]: Like, yeah, your life's going to be over like three weeks there because there's a real group coming. [SPEAKER_01]: And others are just gigantic. [SPEAKER_01]: They're based their legend, excise. [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, because they're getting all these. [SPEAKER_01]: Because again, we still have the trader, guardsman and everything else. [SPEAKER_01]: You had all this that they're kind of just absorbing, depending where they're going. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and it's a super, I think it's a really cool era because what you do get is it becomes the chaos, like war bands become like, like, pluralities. [SPEAKER_02]: It's whatever, whoever can bring the most success, whoever is the best leaders, the best this, begins to grow and grow and grow, because these are, this is, you know, true anarchy, they're living in. [SPEAKER_02]: Whoever can provide the most and most success wins, until someone, of course, unseats them. [SPEAKER_02]: And some legions come out of this, decently, okay, because they happen to have one or two leaders within their legion who have such a powerful cult of personality that they can raise massive people behind them. [SPEAKER_02]: Typhus is a really, we cover this with Typhus, really an example. [SPEAKER_02]: Like, effectively, the entirety of the deathguard got in line behind Typhus. [SPEAKER_02]: Avidon, once he finished his little soaking pilgrimage, [SPEAKER_02]: Obviously, to complete turns around, but not only, as she avidons the most extreme example, because he not only converts over his legion, what was left of it, but other people that convert from their legions to his legion, are among for some people, but again, big following. [SPEAKER_02]: That being said, the Emperor's children didn't have that. [SPEAKER_02]: The only really had a couple leaders. [SPEAKER_02]: Full groom is completely out of the picture at this point. [SPEAKER_02]: He couldn't be happier. [SPEAKER_02]: He's back. [SPEAKER_02]: He's hanging out with Slinash and her greater demons, and he is just absolutely the, I think, for this moment and time in the entirety of the, the material, the immaterial, there is no one happier than Fulgrin. [SPEAKER_02]: This was the best, best thing that ever happened to him, A one plus. [SPEAKER_02]: It was like when Gilliman got the newest version of Excel. [SPEAKER_02]: So, he just says, his Legion, and I'm like, you guys can go, you know, F off. [SPEAKER_01]: And everybody gets super, and this is where they start getting super focused on the thing that makes them who they are. [SPEAKER_01]: So they just started ignoring everything else. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: And when ends up happening is over time, the small warbans, if you don't have that cult of personality leader, you just died. [SPEAKER_02]: because you do a raid campaign into someone, and then that person would either come get revenge, or another larger group would see you do it, and would come counterattack you. [SPEAKER_02]: So with a jukari deal with all the time, but remember that jukari or immortal, these guys are not. [SPEAKER_02]: So it creates a little bit of a problem, and the jukari also may have cloning technology. [SPEAKER_02]: So they're in a bit better spot. [SPEAKER_01]: It's crazy because members should go from the most powerful to smaller bands and a lot of them got killed, but the guys that were left, you had some super powered. [SPEAKER_02]: And we're going to get there anyway, because one thing I actually, I realized we just skipped over it. [SPEAKER_02]: It's my mistake. [SPEAKER_02]: So the reason that the, the Emperor's children fell off, it's actually a very funny story. [SPEAKER_02]: They came in and they got it. [SPEAKER_02]: Remember, as we said, they had all these slaves, they'd all this power. [SPEAKER_02]: Over the course, the Legion Wars, they just used them all up. [SPEAKER_02]: Like they just, they had, you know, they said, they've, hey, we've got, you know, ten billion slaves. [SPEAKER_02]: He fast forward like, like, a, a, a hundred years. [SPEAKER_02]: Hey, what happened all your slaves? [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, we tortured and murdered all of them. [SPEAKER_02]: Does anyone know we can get a hundred billion new ones? [SPEAKER_02]: No, man. [SPEAKER_02]: Russian. [SPEAKER_02]: It's going on here. [SPEAKER_02]: So anyway, they, that's what happened there. [SPEAKER_02]: So they become actually at this, at the, around like this is, I think I'm going like, like, early eighth edition writing. [SPEAKER_02]: I think they were the smallest chaos Legion. [SPEAKER_01]: Kind of because they got really banded up. [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I could go into world leaders on that because they were super warbanded. [SPEAKER_01]: But, but the thing is, is that when world leaders broke up, they just joined other warbands. [SPEAKER_01]: The Zerkers and stuff did. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: And so ends up happening to the emperor's children war bands are actually are interesting to me because they're not the same as everyone else. [SPEAKER_02]: Every author chaos war band or at this point, they're really more factions and some of the bigger ones. [SPEAKER_02]: They're trying to achieve things. [SPEAKER_02]: They're saying, we're gonna conquer land. [SPEAKER_02]: We're going to do something for Mike. [SPEAKER_02]: I'm gonna go spread play. [SPEAKER_02]: I'm gonna do. [SPEAKER_02]: They all seem to be very interested in doing things that had like longer term goals. [SPEAKER_02]: The emperor's children once were mostly short-term goals. [SPEAKER_02]: It was. [SPEAKER_01]: The chaos got of access, but also basically a media gratification. [SPEAKER_01]: What they didn't have long-range goals? [SPEAKER_01]: What? [SPEAKER_01]: That's crazy, John. [SPEAKER_02]: It's all they were doing was just like, hey, let's just have these horrifying actions towards slash, gladiatorial pits, pain in torture centers, basically it's the true car. [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, that's what they built. [SPEAKER_02]: It was effectively common with more camera. [SPEAKER_01]: He also your real bummed as always when you aren't allowed to die because the laws of physics don't apply here in the warp and you're like, hey man, it would be cool if I didn't get horribly murdered every day. [SPEAKER_01]: That's better than somehow I'm not dead. [SPEAKER_02]: That's actually a good point. [SPEAKER_02]: So, but let's talk into a couple of the key ones here who did rise a legion. [SPEAKER_02]: The first one will do is Lucius, Lucius probably, I think he's the oldest model character for Ember's children, right? [SPEAKER_02]: For sure. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: So Lucius, the Eternal, as an Ember's children, the original, was a garbage leader. [SPEAKER_02]: He didn't really care about the success of his legion, only his own personal glory. [SPEAKER_02]: as a slenash leader of the Emperor's children, he's the best thing ever. [SPEAKER_02]: And Lucius and his warband. [SPEAKER_02]: become focused in one thing and one thing only. [SPEAKER_02]: That's bloodletting. [SPEAKER_02]: They would descend upon worlds using the material, not to capture, but to just slaughter. [SPEAKER_02]: They would make planet fall and just start killing anything in every, they could find until just like we talked about on Terra, they killed enough that demonets of slenash could be burst out of like the, like just, [SPEAKER_02]: piles of bodies and would join in the slaughter until the entire planet has been murdered. [SPEAKER_02]: At which point they weren't done, then they would build gladiatorial pits and have internal fights, either emperors, children, emperors, children, emperors, emperors, demons, demon versus demon. [SPEAKER_02]: It was just a party, you know, and that's how it was. [SPEAKER_01]: through a grave in a planetary orbit. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, Lucius, this was his jam. [SPEAKER_02]: He would, he couldn't have been happier. [SPEAKER_02]: Because first, he's just ripping through people yelling his kill count out as he's just tearing down the street. [SPEAKER_02]: And then afterwards, he's just seeing, all right, who wants some and stand the middle of a gladiator that's seeing how many people are demons, he can lock their heads off of. [SPEAKER_02]: because and chaos is loving him. [SPEAKER_02]: The stories are the demons from inside the warp. [SPEAKER_02]: It was kind of like watching prime time sports, seeing Lucius play. [SPEAKER_02]: So they're just cheering them on. [SPEAKER_02]: They're super into him. [SPEAKER_02]: especially by the way slenesh herself. [SPEAKER_02]: But as we've said before, the Empress Children now are full of jealousy. [SPEAKER_02]: Other Lord commanders within it don't like how popular Lucius is. [SPEAKER_02]: One of them names Sirius Cyrus. [SPEAKER_02]: Sirius Black. [SPEAKER_02]: Sirius Black. [SPEAKER_00]: Sirius. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: Is a Cyrus. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: Cyrus decides. [SPEAKER_02]: I'm sick of everyone talking about how great Lucius is. [SPEAKER_02]: Watch this. [SPEAKER_02]: So he challenges Lucius to a fight. [SPEAKER_02]: And Cyrus kills me. [SPEAKER_02]: It just beats a crap out of him. [SPEAKER_02]: The whole time they're fighting Lucius for some reason doesn't take it seriously. [SPEAKER_02]: And he's giggling while Cyrus is actually blending some pretty heavy blows on him. [SPEAKER_02]: At the end of the fight, and I'm sorry to kind of ruin this part, but I can't tell you the story without giving you a way that this really cool part of this fight. [SPEAKER_02]: At the end of the fight, Lucius decides to unveil his secret weapon, which is a spinning double back flip stabbed to face attack. [SPEAKER_02]: That's what it was. [SPEAKER_02]: It's like, if you guys ever have the same hand, we're old. [SPEAKER_02]: But it used to be with a lot of like fighting games. [SPEAKER_02]: There were combos you could put into the controller that were just unblockable. [SPEAKER_02]: And people who knew how to do those would actually mess with you and let you kind of beat them down like less than like thirty percent health. [SPEAKER_02]: And then it would just, all you'd just hear is then clip a bunch of buttons together suddenly and then you got just wrecked. [SPEAKER_02]: What was he going on Neo Geo? [SPEAKER_02]: So my name is Killer Henskiller Henskiller Henskiller Henskiller Henskiller Henskiller Henskiller Henskiller Henskiller Henskiller Henskiller Henskiller Henskiller Henskiller Henskiller Henskiller Henskiller Henskiller Henskiller Henskiller Henskiller Henskiller Henskiller Henskiller Henskiller Henskiller Henskiller Henskiller Henskiller Henskiller Henskiller Henskiller Henskiller Henskiller Henskiller Henskiller Henskiller Henskiller Henskiller Henskiller Henskiller Henskiller Henskiller Henskiller Henskiller Henskiller Henskiller Henskiller Henskiller Henskiller Henskiller Henskiller Hens [SPEAKER_01]: Wait for it. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I'm Bo Breaker. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, Bo Breaker. [SPEAKER_02]: We are old. [SPEAKER_02]: So many of our listeners have no idea. [SPEAKER_02]: They have the replica of YouTube videos to see what the hell we're talking about. [SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, well, this is awesome because well, things are going to go badly because there's a thing called the armor souls that we're going to talk about. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: So afterwards, Cyrus actually, he does get some praise, but he falls really ill pretty quickly. [SPEAKER_02]: And over a few weeks, like all of his hair starts to fall out in clumps. [SPEAKER_02]: His eyes change color. [SPEAKER_02]: His skins are just looked dead. [SPEAKER_02]: Even the armor that he wears begins to change. [SPEAKER_02]: He used to have an armor that was like, you know, adorned with like symbols and stuff. [SPEAKER_02]: Now it looks like demons laughing. [SPEAKER_02]: It's all you see on his armor. [SPEAKER_02]: And the last thing that happens to him is he starts to notice these dark lines appearing all over his skin all over his body everywhere. [SPEAKER_02]: And eventually those dark lines become scars head to toe. [SPEAKER_02]: and he begins screaming out in agony. [SPEAKER_02]: It's probably the last night screaming and screaming. [SPEAKER_02]: And over the course of the evening, his screams turn into laughter. [SPEAKER_02]: And finally, the laughter stops. [SPEAKER_02]: And from where he was, outwalks, Lucius, because Selenash was not willing to lose such a great toy. [SPEAKER_02]: So she resurrected Lucius in Cyrus. [SPEAKER_01]: And this half, the best part about it is this keeps, he has everyone that he'll eventually do. [SPEAKER_01]: He does this to his opponents. [SPEAKER_01]: And they become part of his armors screaming for ever trapped into the armors. [SPEAKER_02]: It's actually Lucius to me is one of the coolest characters of all of chaos because of this because, yeah, you can't kill him. [SPEAKER_02]: But if you kill him, you curse yourself. [SPEAKER_02]: And I want to point out, there's a neckron this happened to. [SPEAKER_02]: There was a neckron warrior, I think, or a neckron something that killed Lucius with a face blade. [SPEAKER_02]: that necrons necridermus actually melted away and a very happy Lucius just stood up from inside of it. [SPEAKER_01]: That's what this is one of the things I want animated because Lucius's armor is constant moving, screaming faces everywhere on the armor like they float all over it. [SPEAKER_02]: because it's got to look so bad at that. [SPEAKER_02]: It's the trapped souls of everyone that he's now taken over, which has made him by the way, a lot even nastier in combat because now he is not only, well, can he not die, but if you kill him, you actually give yourself one of the worst deaths imaginable. [SPEAKER_02]: And you juice him up and it's power level. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's Lucius is cool. [SPEAKER_02]: New rules. [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, the codecs is behind me. [SPEAKER_02]: They're fine. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, he's jamming and he's so much better than you. [SPEAKER_02]: Yes, but it's just the problem is when you tell a story like this, [SPEAKER_02]: Does it come up? [SPEAKER_01]: I know, but he used to be terrible. [SPEAKER_01]: He was just on the one on the board was not even worth. [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, bring it. [SPEAKER_02]: Wait a minute, cool model. [SPEAKER_02]: But he honestly, like the old model I didn't really care for. [SPEAKER_02]: I'm literally looking up. [SPEAKER_01]: They, they, they've juiced everything up quite a bit now. [SPEAKER_01]: He looks cool now and they gave him some power level budget. [SPEAKER_02]: All right. [SPEAKER_02]: So he rerolls hits and woes and he has ten attacks at strength for minus one sustained. [SPEAKER_01]: He's literally AP three damage three. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, but that's six attacks, six attacks, precision, strength eight, A, B, three, flat three damage. [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, that's good. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that's a rock. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I guess, I guess, end of a character is full at full rerolls to hit and wound. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, you know what, I'll fight first. [SPEAKER_02]: Fine fair enough. [SPEAKER_02]: It's pretty good. [SPEAKER_02]: All right, he's good now. [SPEAKER_02]: All right. [SPEAKER_02]: So let's talk now about though, one of the most independent bodies, at least until very recently, [SPEAKER_02]: in all of the chaos factions, Fabius Bile. [SPEAKER_02]: Fabius is actually funny to me because Fabius, at the very start of the siege of Tara, just left. [SPEAKER_02]: Let's straight up when Nat and walked out to the point where, so we're let Fulgram got pissed off and Fulgram put a price on his head because he was so mad that Fabius just would have banned in him. [SPEAKER_02]: So at the moment. [SPEAKER_01]: He was being hunted by both loyalist and traitor legions and he basically just went from [SPEAKER_01]: Mad Scientist Laboratory, a Mad Scientist Laboratory, doing weird shit. [SPEAKER_01]: The better part is, he kept outsourcing his work. [SPEAKER_01]: He started contracting with all the other legions and went, I can make your guys better. [SPEAKER_01]: How, what are you gonna do to them? [SPEAKER_01]: Don't worry about it. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: And, um, Fabius is a kind of, you know about it. [SPEAKER_02]: Well, Fabius is cool as hell, because Fabius actually is a believer in the original imperial truth. [SPEAKER_02]: He didn't believe in chaos. [SPEAKER_02]: Like, he knows existed, but that's, that's, that's, that's stupid power. [SPEAKER_02]: Science is where it should be. [SPEAKER_02]: And what he does is he pursues mostly cloning technology to kind of master the world. [SPEAKER_02]: The first thing he goes about in this cloning technology is recloning all the primarks, all twenty of them, but he doesn't do a very good job of it. [SPEAKER_02]: We covered this in the Abidon cast that like he actually created a horse and Abidon beat the Evelyn bits out of that horse and kill the room. [SPEAKER_01]: Abidon also tracked down [SPEAKER_01]: all the other. [SPEAKER_02]: And murdered all of them. [SPEAKER_02]: All the one. [SPEAKER_02]: And right. [SPEAKER_02]: What the actually one, one does escape. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: And but they, they even need to talk about it. [SPEAKER_02]: That the other clones were like incredibly mutated, which makes sense because they were all made of warp. [SPEAKER_02]: You can't clone warp. [SPEAKER_02]: You can clone jeans, but you can't clone warp. [SPEAKER_02]: And so, Fabius after this little one goes, yeah, that doesn't work. [SPEAKER_02]: And throws it in the garbage. [SPEAKER_02]: And decides instead to perfect humanity. [SPEAKER_02]: I make something new called the hobo novice or new man. [SPEAKER_02]: And it's, I hate the name, but I love what he does with it. [SPEAKER_02]: So, Fabius and his retinue. [SPEAKER_02]: I've got this. [SPEAKER_01]: Fabius is written who leave the eye of terror, making him traveling the galaxy, but I love how they do this because they start going to settlements, telling everybody that they're healers and scientists, and they can help push forward the advancement and the well-being of the citizens of this planet. [SPEAKER_02]: and everyone, and so all the citizens will say, sure, this is great, and he would inject them with his special serum. [SPEAKER_02]: And this turns them into [SPEAKER_02]: These new men are massively stronger, massively more intelligent than regular humans, and puts them on par with space marines almost. [SPEAKER_02]: But it's violent. [SPEAKER_01]: Wait a second. [SPEAKER_01]: I think that that serum might have had some bad stuff in it too, because it's super [SPEAKER_01]: Pumps up, you're greed, you're hatred, you're violence. [SPEAKER_01]: It takes everything that's bad and times by a hundred in all of these superjuice stuff. [SPEAKER_02]: The hernismant, it makes an entire species of supervillains. [SPEAKER_02]: It's how I look at it. [SPEAKER_02]: Like that's like they're all over it. [SPEAKER_02]: An entire populist turned into space marine level strength supervillains. [SPEAKER_02]: So this to me reminds me. [SPEAKER_01]: He keeps leaving to the best part. [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, he always does this to everybody. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: And then he just mic drops and just cruises away. [SPEAKER_02]: Well, because he leaves for you see the bad stuff. [SPEAKER_02]: It's a bit of a trope because it comes up a lot in fantasy where some like evil merchant comes to town. [SPEAKER_02]: And he brings like, like, flying wares and everyone who buys in the merchant, it's actually cursed. [SPEAKER_02]: That's what he's doing. [SPEAKER_02]: And so these new men [SPEAKER_02]: appear they're massively stronger massively intelligent but fast forward a few within a few weeks to level in a few months and they all become kind of many dictators that you can't do very much about because they can murder anyone who gets anywhere near them and they're also light years intelligent. [SPEAKER_02]: So one of the fun stories about this is that the inquisition spends a lot of their time tracking these things down, because exterminating the planet will work to a point, but there's so intelligent that a lot of them can escape. [SPEAKER_02]: And then they can get somewhere else where they can, if it's more than a couple of them, I assume they can breed. [SPEAKER_02]: Because they call them new man, but I think it's not gender-specific. [SPEAKER_02]: If I'm being honest, it's not clear. [SPEAKER_02]: He just juices up the poppy. [SPEAKER_02]: That's my name. [SPEAKER_01]: I think if he keeps going world the world, trying a new version of what he's doing. [SPEAKER_02]: He's always trying, he's aware it doesn't work correctly, but he's totally fine with just testing it out. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, he's like test one thousand two hundred and three. [SPEAKER_01]: Okay, let's do it. [SPEAKER_02]: Oh crap one thing we've got to mention sorry guys another we mentioned that the reason this this is important about the convoy important. [SPEAKER_02]: Fabius is such a master of genetics because he is cursed genetically his life spans very very short because he basically just the case that's a human being. [SPEAKER_02]: So what he is pretty crazy. [SPEAKER_02]: Yes, so what he does is he clones himself constantly and then he's able to transfer his consciousness into these clones. [SPEAKER_02]: It keeps them all in a lab. [SPEAKER_02]: And at first, whenever he would die, he would flip into one of his clones. [SPEAKER_02]: But now he's actually able to transfer his consciousness almost in an instant. [SPEAKER_02]: So he's becoming less of an immortal and more of a perpetual. [SPEAKER_02]: Because no matter if you kill him, he just pops up somewhere else. [SPEAKER_02]: randomly. [SPEAKER_01]: And he's also, and he's got labs across the galaxy. [SPEAKER_02]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_02]: So over the past ten plus millennia, Bial has risen. [SPEAKER_02]: And there's actually some cool stories about this where some, there was one, I forget who it was, be killed Bial. [SPEAKER_02]: And then like you fast forward, like a month or two later, he's fighting in some sort of gladiatorial event. [SPEAKER_02]: He looks over and he sees Bial in the stands, just waving at him. [SPEAKER_02]: And he's like, I, [SPEAKER_02]: physically stood over his dead body. [SPEAKER_02]: I know I killed him. [SPEAKER_02]: And it begins within the inquisition, because the only thing that wasn't even knows he can do this. [SPEAKER_02]: They're trying to figure out, is there more than one bio? [SPEAKER_02]: Who are we killing? [SPEAKER_02]: Because what they think is they're killing clones or stand-ins or whatever it is or body doubles. [SPEAKER_02]: But in reality, they are actually killing him, but then he is being a risen elsewhere all over the place. [SPEAKER_01]: And he's perfecting his craft or per fib you're giving the air quotes right now. [SPEAKER_01]: The other legions pay for him, but one of the bigger things is a lot of apothecaries have left their legions to come work with bile because as messed up as he is, he is cutting edge. [SPEAKER_01]: There's a reason why we have an entire faction called creations of bile. [SPEAKER_02]: And let's talk about them for a little bit. [SPEAKER_02]: Because yeah, over the last ten millennia, ten plus millennia, bile has risen from this side figure to a full blown leader. [SPEAKER_02]: And Brad's thing is talk about it's called the consortium. [SPEAKER_02]: It's a bunch of apothecaries who come together and they formed what's almost a mini-legent. [SPEAKER_02]: Like, Fabius bile is part of the Emperor's children. [SPEAKER_02]: But the creations of bio for a while, I actually think weren't even. [SPEAKER_02]: The new codex they are now. [SPEAKER_01]: He could show up in any, he could show up in any. [SPEAKER_01]: You could use to be able to take one unit that famous bio would buff up. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: And so these guys have traveled all around the galaxy kind of to working with bio to get what he wants. [SPEAKER_02]: And my bio really, really wants us. [SPEAKER_02]: People give me bodies. [SPEAKER_02]: So I can keep doing experiments. [SPEAKER_02]: And in return, I'll give you technology. [SPEAKER_02]: It's either genetic technology. [SPEAKER_02]: Also, he has a lot of weird weaponry, too. [SPEAKER_02]: That's all pretty gross. [SPEAKER_02]: But let's talk about a couple of quick things that have come up with bio recently. [SPEAKER_02]: One of my favorite ones was when he went to Salmnes, which those who've read any of the trays and books know, that's where trays and the infinite lives. [SPEAKER_02]: Very long story short there. [SPEAKER_02]: He ends up trading. [SPEAKER_02]: Two trays in the infinite. [SPEAKER_02]: His full-groom clone, that's somehow survived, Abadon's Purge, and the Harley Quinn's who were trying to murder him. [SPEAKER_02]: It's a pretty cool tray. [SPEAKER_02]: He's like, oh, those guys over there who are trying to murder me. [SPEAKER_02]: You take them at this big dude here, and exchange, he gets back. [SPEAKER_02]: I think with an enough gene seed, to make like, eighteen thousand new space marines, original gene seed. [SPEAKER_02]: So no one has this obvious except for trays in. [SPEAKER_02]: Cool as hell. [SPEAKER_02]: Later, another fun. [SPEAKER_01]: Let's go. [SPEAKER_01]: I'll say this is the cooler one. [SPEAKER_01]: He rolls into Comarong and goes up to the homoculuses, the Covins. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: And just goes to the cover to the thirteen scars and goes, I want to apply for the intern position. [SPEAKER_01]: And they just teach you about that. [SPEAKER_01]: They know. [SPEAKER_02]: Well, they did like the cut of his gym. [SPEAKER_02]: Let's call it the most straightest man. [SPEAKER_02]: They were like, oh, this guy, this guy knows how to torture. [SPEAKER_02]: Let's test it. [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I feel like the apprentice program to joining, you know, a homiculic oven is not a, I'd like to join the oven, you know, it's probably more like, let's see what you got. [SPEAKER_02]: And they're like, wow, this guy can sew some flesh together. [SPEAKER_02]: While there with them, what his real goal wasn't just to learn to be a better torture, it was the perfect his new man, even better. [SPEAKER_02]: And he gets to a point with the Himalayas, where he gets enough of that information. [SPEAKER_02]: And he stages a pretty big escape. [SPEAKER_02]: This is, I think, around the, like, there's quite a few, he has three novels by the way, guys. [SPEAKER_02]: And he then escapes, causing a bunch of chaos behind them and gets pursued by them. [SPEAKER_01]: Don't spoil this one because the books are pretty [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, so I'm not good at, you know, good point. [SPEAKER_02]: I'm not, these are fairly new. [SPEAKER_02]: All of these are all pre-new books. [SPEAKER_02]: A Fabius Bile for those who like to read the has three novels. [SPEAKER_02]: And obviously, I don't love the writing in them candidly, but the stories are really good. [SPEAKER_02]: You just, I, there's some time, there's some novels you read where you just kind of go, and skip the paragraph, just calling it space. [SPEAKER_02]: But these ones are very, very, the stories are really good. [SPEAKER_02]: And the end is really cool. [SPEAKER_02]: The very end of the third. [SPEAKER_01]: Or say the end makes it worth it in the third novel though. [SPEAKER_02]: Well, it's a lot of stuff because yeah, and there's a lot and they're novels that do a good job of kind of giving you some insight to some backstory of things that have happened. [SPEAKER_02]: So yeah, Brad's got a good point. [SPEAKER_02]: I don't want to ruin the end of of what is probably twenty hours of reading for people to be like, Oh, yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: So anyway, it does end in a really cool way for Fabius Bomb. [SPEAKER_02]: Let's close out. [SPEAKER_02]: Actually, it's kind of a soft close here, guys. [SPEAKER_02]: I want to jump back into full-gram real quick. [SPEAKER_02]: Does not much to really jump into yet as we said. [SPEAKER_01]: There will. [SPEAKER_01]: He just came back. [SPEAKER_01]: He's there's going to be a lot more lore. [SPEAKER_01]: Emperor's shoulder book just came out. [SPEAKER_02]: I'm full-gram is back. [SPEAKER_02]: I'm literally holding the Emperor's children codex. [SPEAKER_02]: There's nothing. [SPEAKER_02]: I got this for this episode. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: There's nothing in here on full-gram. [SPEAKER_01]: New. [SPEAKER_01]: It's. [SPEAKER_02]: I'm so excited. [SPEAKER_01]: I think we're getting a new tournament season by the time this comes out, it may or may not be out. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: And they usually put forward in the lore and I think we're going to get some more full-groom lore there because he is taking part in a lot of stuff going on right now. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I mean, there's some, there's some, again, in the code X, I'm saying, well, I'm talking one record that like I have it open in my hands. [SPEAKER_02]: And I'll be at, it gets got some good stuff in here, but we haven't really discussed why Fulgram has a model yet. [SPEAKER_02]: I saw it's like that the Warhammer hasn't discussed it yet, because all we know about Fulgram was that he was back in. [SPEAKER_02]: hang it out. [SPEAKER_02]: The only thing that he really did more recently was when Gilliman was resurrected. [SPEAKER_02]: So, oh, he did kill Gilliman. [SPEAKER_02]: That was a big part of his day. [SPEAKER_02]: And that was his last kind of action within the material. [SPEAKER_02]: After killing Gilliman, he goes and hangs out. [SPEAKER_02]: Once Gilliman's reborn, he does appear, but not physically. [SPEAKER_02]: He actually telepathically speaks to Gilliman, telling him that he's going to watch and wait, and his swing Gilliman makes a mistake. [SPEAKER_02]: Fullgram's going to come strike. [SPEAKER_01]: Yep. [SPEAKER_01]: So this says when you're basically at your weakest and you're most want to. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, then I will be there. [SPEAKER_02]: And that's, and now we as a model, so maybe you know, again, maybe if you listen to this cast like twenty twenty six, you might be like, yeah, John, we've all read that book. [SPEAKER_02]: I don't know why you're talking about this. [SPEAKER_02]: We're making a new cast by that, but that's all we really know. [SPEAKER_02]: Fulham is back. [SPEAKER_02]: He has a model which traditionally means he's going to get a novel. [SPEAKER_02]: It's kind of hitting me with a lion got one novel. [SPEAKER_02]: I think the Gilman got multiple novels, but he deserves that. [SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if it's marked here, but they'll move the lore ahead a little bit. [SPEAKER_02]: I'm excited because bringing back the Emperor's children. [SPEAKER_02]: That's what noise marines are, which we haven't really covered here because it's like a, I don't know how many of us talk about them. [SPEAKER_02]: They have some kind of cool unique models, which is awesome. [SPEAKER_02]: They've got some very unique and cool rules, which are also really good. [SPEAKER_01]: Our mentors and the infractors are all things new models too. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: So it's a really good Legion. [SPEAKER_01]: Flott Flottless Blades. [SPEAKER_01]: There's a lot to talk about with the Indians. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I think from a competitive standpoint, they're a very interesting army and painting and pink is always easy. [SPEAKER_02]: So it's actually an easy color to layer on. [SPEAKER_01]: So I tell them about what's happening. [SPEAKER_02]: Here we go. [SPEAKER_02]: There, everyone here Brad gets sad. [SPEAKER_02]: It's because Brad saw the bottom of the notes. [SPEAKER_02]: So I already ran it. [SPEAKER_02]: All right. [SPEAKER_02]: So next week, we are going to just start doing our sandcastle building. [SPEAKER_02]: We're going to jump into Imperial Fists. [SPEAKER_02]: People have been asking for a while, I've been saying, yeah, we'll do it. [SPEAKER_02]: I wanted to do some chaos after this. [SPEAKER_02]: We'll do ample Imperial Fists. [SPEAKER_02]: But we're also going to add to that the Black settlers because can't do one without the other. [SPEAKER_01]: So we're going to spend probably the most famous successor chapter. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that's what I'm trying to think of successor chapters. [SPEAKER_02]: I don't think there's anyone that would even like, right? [SPEAKER_02]: There's no body even. [SPEAKER_01]: Because the black, the black killer had, I mean, maybe the flesh tears, but still not it. [SPEAKER_02]: But the black Templar, I mean, I could have sworn they got, they even had their own like a box. [SPEAKER_02]: I'm pretty sure that they had it. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: They have their own box. [SPEAKER_02]: They have their own book. [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, it's right. [SPEAKER_02]: They have their own book too. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: So no one has that. [SPEAKER_02]: There's no other successor chapter that got their own book. [SPEAKER_02]: And not like the weird like something we got in the eighth edition random book, like they have legitimate books. [SPEAKER_02]: They had one in ninth, I have another one in tenth. [SPEAKER_02]: So we're going to be doing, yeah, starting off with Imperial Fists. [SPEAKER_02]: Once we get to the end of Imperial Fists, they'll move into black Templars because they, you know, not really one of the same. [SPEAKER_02]: But until then, this has been John Barsati and Brad Chester. [SPEAKER_02]: See you guys next week.
