00:00:00 Speaker 1: You are listening to the Dan Patrick Show on Fox Sports Radio. 00:00:04 Speaker 2: Tonight the Calves and the Pistons, Lakers and the thunder The Lakers are fifteen and a half point underdogs tonight. The Calves are three and a half point underdogs against the Pistons. The Knicks in a great game against the Sixers without Joel and b going back and forth, Jalen Brunson doing what great players do when they need points. He came in and hit a couple of big baskets. Neither team led by more than seven points. Twenty five different lead changes. That's the most in an NBA playoff game in eleven years. Stat of the Day brought to you by Panini America. The Sixers went toe to toe, but only twelve points in the fourth quarter. Og and Anobi got injured with a round three minutes to go in the game, went to the locker room. No update yet on his injury. Looking ahead to Game three in Philadelphia, the Knicks are one and a half point underdogs in Philadelphia Spurs. With a big win last night, the Spurs are actually three and a half point favorites when the series goes to Minnesota. A little bit of a surprise there. All Rightie, Dylan. Poll question for the first hour the program is going to be what all right, Dan? We got a couple? This one is from Todd. 00:01:28 Speaker 3: When an NBA team falls behind by fifty points in a game, it's generally because the other team's just in the zone and playing great, or the team on the receiving end of the butt kicking gave up. 00:01:41 Speaker 2: I don't know if I can use the expression gave up. I mean that would denote they quit. That's a kinder way of saying they quit. 00:01:50 Speaker 4: How could you be an NBA team, especially in the playoffs and ever unless all your guys are injured and you're just playing all your backups, and even then it's all NBA players. One team should never beat another team by fifty points. That just seems like an insane amount of points to be ahead or to lose by. 00:02:05 Speaker 2: Okay, did Minnesota quit last night? 00:02:08 Speaker 4: I don't like to use the word quit either, but I don't know how it's not somewhat giving up or once you know there's no way of coming back, Why am I going to give full effort and possibly pull up lame and get injured. There's something going on there that should That's just crazy amount of points. 00:02:23 Speaker 2: So let in today's NBA you can get up by thirty and you can come back when you're down by thirty. 00:02:29 Speaker 4: That's thirty. Yeah, I had twenty more points of that. That just seems insane to me. 00:02:33 Speaker 2: Well, how many of those fifty point games have we had? 00:02:36 Speaker 4: Two of them happened like in the last week, which is in the playoffs. No, that's not even someone a tanking team losing by These are teams trying to get to the title. 00:02:45 Speaker 2: You think they quit. 00:02:47 Speaker 4: I'm saying that it raises an eyebrow that you would be down at any point of a game by fifty points in the playoffs especially. 00:02:54 Speaker 2: I don't know if you quit in a playoff game, maybe a regular season where you go you don't want to take me out, But if you still have your starters on the floor, then I can't accuse you of quitting. 00:03:04 Speaker 4: The thunderbeat the Wizards by fifty and you know, a couple of months ago, then you can wink at that. Or a team that's definitely trying to tank to get ping pong balls. But the again, these are playoff teams, so they've got to be decent enough to not ever lose to another NBA team by. 00:03:16 Speaker 5: Yes, pol First of all, Fritzi, your Broncos lost fifty five to ten in the Super Bowl, forty two ten in the Super Bowl, they did, and forty three to eight? Were those quit or was the other team dominant? 00:03:27 Speaker 4: I think that they were outclassed and the better team won and proved it. 00:03:30 Speaker 2: No, no, oh wait, wait did they quit? 00:03:33 Speaker 4: I don't think Lway ever quit. There might have been some other guys that could have stepped up a little bit. 00:03:38 Speaker 5: Yes, I actually have a real point now, Dan, you played basketball competitively. 00:03:42 Speaker 6: I did not. 00:03:43 Speaker 5: I think there's almost like a subconscious when things are going well for one team, it gets better and they get in bold and like we're killing these guys. Let's step on the gas. And the other team doesn't quit. They just maybe come to a realization this might not be our night and almost subconsciously step off the game. Does that fair in a basketball game? 00:04:02 Speaker 7: Yeah? 00:04:02 Speaker 2: I think you realize it's just not your night or it's their night, and you see guys hitting shots and you're like, they never hit those shots, But you have those nights. In the NBA, the players are so skilled that if you get on a roll, you get in the zone, then all of a sudden, you know, you can put up some pretty incredible numbers. But you're right. 00:04:21 Speaker 6: I mean the. 00:04:21 Speaker 2: Wizards though, anytime they lost this year, it felt like they were losing by at least twenty five to thirty points. But they're not any good. That was kind of their plan. So I don't think they quit. I think that it's basically before they started, they knew they didn't have a chance to win. But a playoff team, I don't know if you go So at what point do you say we're gonna stop trying? Like what's the point spread? That's what I'd be curious with your logic, todd Of, that's. 00:04:53 Speaker 4: A fair question. 00:04:53 Speaker 2: Okay, do you get to twenty seven points, twenty nine, thirty one, thirty three? 00:04:58 Speaker 4: It's definitely a point that happens before the coach would like it to happen. 00:05:02 Speaker 3: Yes, Dylan, putting myself in that situation, and maybe I don't have the killer instinct, but if we're down forty I'm probably not gonna try very much. A rely, you know, am I really sprinting up and down the court At that point you're down forty points, that's that's my line. I think forty is a number where I am quitting. Yeah, it kind of sums up your work ethic exactly. Yeah, just enough. 00:05:23 Speaker 2: I'm always down by forty points. Yes, you're just enough, Yes, Paul. 00:05:26 Speaker 5: But in the NBA, you could lose in the first quarter or like lose the first quarter thirty to eighteen. You're still in that game. Yeah, there's so much room. And if you look at the Timberwolves, they got better as the game went along. They scored twenty eight and a third and thirty two in the fourth. Now was it over over ish? Yeah? 00:05:45 Speaker 2: Yeah, one thirty three to ninety five is the final? Was San Antonio over the Timberwolves? And the Knicks get by the uh embeidless seventy six ers eight one oh two. You know you're trying to depend on Joel Embiid but he can't. And everybody says the following, Man, if the Sixers get healthy, well they're not going to be healthy. They're healthy ish, but it's rare. You know, when they're healthy, that's when it's rare. Paul George, I give him credit. He's playing well. I thought load management was supposed to help you when you get to the playoffs, like Luca load Management or Austin Reeves load Management, Embeed load Management. That okay, now you're ready to go. Load management I don't think means anything. I mean, I get it. These guys want a day off, for two days off. I understand that you want to week off. Do I think Luca's actually you know, hurt, Yes, I do. The people I think have questioned was he going to Spain to see the mother of his two children while he was doing rehab over there? A lot of players go to Germany. Kobe would go to Germany get blood work done. Now that's where I think some of these NBA reporters were like, well, okay, wait a minute. Luca was quick to point out, boy, they have great medical care in Spain, but there's a lot of there's a lot of medical procedures that are done outside the United States, and I know all about it. Going to Panama for stem cell, You're like, they don't do this in the United States. What's the reason for that? And then you know, you find out my kind of stem cell that I'm going through is different than what they have. It's some of the best medical facilities in the United states, a lot of things going on in Germany, a lot of things going on in Japan, a lot of things going on in Turkey. But yeah, Luca now he's back. Now the question is can you get him at the tail end of this series? 00:07:52 Speaker 8: Yes, Marvin, Now, going back to Joel and Beat in the load management term, playing thirty eight games doesn't mean you're load managing. 00:07:59 Speaker 6: That means your hurt. 00:08:01 Speaker 8: If you're playing sixty eight, sixty nine, seventy games and you're missing every back to back, that's load management. 00:08:09 Speaker 2: But they are planning back to back, that is load management. They're not going to have him play back to back. 00:08:14 Speaker 8: You're right, But the rest of the time, the thirty eight games doesn't mean load management. Like that's thirty of those games. I was hurt. Have you seen him like lumber up and down? 00:08:23 Speaker 2: No? Oh, I know, I get it. It's like he's running in waste deep water. And do I think they can still win the series? I do, but I just don't know. As soon as I saw Embiid was out, I thought the Sixers will win this because it's just weird. It It's just I've I've been around this game for over fifty years. You just go that that doesn't make any sense. But sometimes you get that team that goes, okay, now we know he's not going to be there. It's not how many minutes is he going to play? How effective is he going to be, It's just you know, Maxi has got to be better. Yeah, what was he nine for twenty three? And he's a wonderful player, but you know you got to put up forty. You got to have that. You know, you start to do the math and you go, okay, where are we going to get these points from. That's why when I watch Detroit, I go, okay, you know, Tobias Harris, if you can give you twenty five, all right, along with Kate Cunningham. But you start to do the math and you go, we got to get to at least one hundred hundred ten points in playoff basketball, at least that, and you start to go, where are we getting that from. That's why when I look at the Lakers, where are your points coming from? Unless Austin Reeves starts to act like Austin Reeves during the regular season, you're not going to get those points. And you got to be a great defensive team if you're going to be able to somehow stay in the rear view mirror of OKC because I expect them to play a great game tonight, Yes, Mark, and. 00:09:57 Speaker 8: Then the playoffs. It's a whole different ballgame where you say can you give me twenty five for one game? Rather than can you average twenty five? I can't depend on Tobias errors to average twenty five. He might give me a game a series where he puts up twenty five, but averaging that's a different animal. 00:10:12 Speaker 5: Yes, Paul Dan, I think you got to get at the love to Karl Anthony Towns twenty points, six of eight, economical as they say, ten rebounds, seven assists, only three turnovers. Nice game. 00:10:23 Speaker 2: He's supposed to be great. I just said in today's sports world. It's amazing how you have to give credit to somebody who's supposed to be great. Hey, gotta give him credit for that. Wait a minute, wait, Not every show that we do is great. Not every show. When I'm done, do I expect Fritzy to say, hey, great show. But I'm supposed to do well. We're supposed to be a really good show. It's not like, damn, you guys are okay today. Now I might say that to Todd like, all right, pretty good, Well some. 00:10:58 Speaker 4: Must need a pat in the back and sentence. And then if you don't say that. 00:11:01 Speaker 2: They did a terrible job. 00:11:03 Speaker 6: Well I know, I know. 00:11:05 Speaker 2: I walked by Todd was doing the toodcast yesterday. Dylan tried to entrap me. He's like, hey, you want to join us? No, I just kept walking. 00:11:14 Speaker 4: You didn't keep walking. You couldn't have gone. You were like, you're saying both getting out of that. 00:11:18 Speaker 2: You didn't even turn and look over. No, no, no, no, you just said nope, no, no, no. This is for America. This is not for me. You're an American man, I am an American. I'm a patriot. It's the most patriotic show out there. 00:11:32 Speaker 4: Yeah, I felt you don't want to be too associated with the content, and you're just I'm zipping by, which is. 00:11:37 Speaker 2: Understand yes, because I'll occasionally hear like a word or two then I'll go, now, not. 00:11:43 Speaker 6: Good for your brand. 00:11:44 Speaker 2: I'm not going to do it, but it is entertaining. The todcast available at dan Patrick dot com. The Gambling Podcast, The first show without the fired Larry Bad Larry, will be today later on today. It's going to be glorious, yes and without bad yep. 00:12:00 Speaker 5: Paul Dylan's on the Betting Podcast, and Dylan and I we almost always start our day talking about gambling in the morning when we get here, and like, as soon as I saw Embiid was out, I was like, did you bet on Philly to win? I wanted to. I wanted to because you go counter to what you think is gonna happen. 00:12:16 Speaker 2: I would have taken the points definitely, and I would have taken San Antonio as well. Yes, yes, dling ironically so the line. 00:12:27 Speaker 3: The line moved to plus ten and a half seventy six ers after Embiid was ruled out as originally plus six and a half. 00:12:33 Speaker 2: They lost by six right on the original button. I know, I don't know how they do it, Todd, but they do it. They're really good at that. 00:12:43 Speaker 4: I have got that. 00:12:44 Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah. 00:12:46 Speaker 1: Be sure to catch the live edition of The Dan Patrick Show weekdays at nine am Eastern six am Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app. 00:12:56 Speaker 9: Hey Is Cabino and Rip from Fox Sports Radio Now, in addition to hear ring us live weekdays from five to seven pm Eastern two to four Pacific on Fox Sports Radio. Now he's on Get up first take man, it must be nice. Thanks for carving out a couple of minutes for us, Vincent. 00:13:48 Speaker 10: Thank you for giving me the call. I thought you had forgotten my number. I don't get a fancy middle name. Thank you to Marvin for giving me some nice Michael Jackson there some this place hotel? 00:14:00 Speaker 6: I love it. 00:14:01 Speaker 2: Did you see the documentary on Michael Jackson? 00:14:04 Speaker 6: I have not seen the movie on Michael Jackson. I'm not sure if you know. 00:14:09 Speaker 10: Playoff season, no days off, no morning's off, but it is on the list. 00:14:13 Speaker 2: So it's a bio pick. It's not a documentary. 00:14:16 Speaker 6: Yes, it's a biopick. Ok, the first half of a biopick. 00:14:19 Speaker 2: All right, explain to me what happened last night, back and forth, twenty five twenty six different lead changes. But let's start with Philadelphia. How surprised were you going toe to toe without Joel Embiid. 00:14:33 Speaker 10: I wasn't surprised at all, to be perfectly honest. I felt like, when you get out of a seven game series where you come out of a three to one deficit, I have a saying, you're still wearing the perfume of the Boston Celtics, like you're nowhere near the emotional or physical capacity to deal with the next series in forty eight hours. So the blowt in game one wasn't very surprising to me. Game two, no, Joel Embiid meant that Dan they could not afford to play a slow game, and then we kind of forgot that Paul George, for all the. 00:15:03 Speaker 6: Things that he's not, he's still an. 00:15:05 Speaker 10: Incredibly skilled player who can carry you for stretches. I'm actually more or less surprised that Philadelphia did not win the game last night because of how they came out. They just ran out of gas in the last six six, five or six minutes. They had nothing left in the tank because of the physicality and the speed of the game. And now you wonder if this is a formula that they can replicate for Game three. Just being back home. 00:15:28 Speaker 2: Yeah, I think they had twelve points in the fourth quarter, but you know that it takes so much energy. And you're right about the quick turnaround losing in game one. I thought Philly was gonna win last night. But moving forward with Embiid, can Nick Nurse come up with a game plan where you're not sure day to day or game to game what exactly you have with EMBIID? 00:15:52 Speaker 10: That's impossible because Dan, you know it from being around these players. The series don't get easier as they go along. They don't get less physical, they get more physical. And if there is a vulnerable part of your body, let's say you got a bad hand, you know what they're gonna do to your hand. They're gonna whack your hand every chance they can because it's vulnerable, and they're gonna see how long you can go before you say uncle. And I think with EMBIID and getting nailed on that screen by Micheale Bridges, who's not the most you know, he's not the physically toughest dude in the world, and he nailed in Beid. So if you're Nick Nurse and he did some good things last night, I'm gonna say that, Dan, he did some good things, even in the fourth quarter when they were trying to get the ball of Jalen Brunton's hands and you got to see, Wait, dude, the Knicks have another guy that can create a shot late in the clock. I think if they have fresher legs, let's say they have a lead in the last four or five minutes. Embiid or know Embiid, I feel like defensively they found some things that they can counter to and then you worry about Embiid later. 00:16:52 Speaker 6: Like just I wouldn't say this. I would not make. 00:16:55 Speaker 10: Joe Well Embiid the focal and center point of my offense, knowing where he is or is and physically I'm going up and down the floor and I'm telling Joelle, come and catch up to us. 00:17:04 Speaker 6: When you catch up to us. 00:17:05 Speaker 2: Any update on ogn Andobi's injury, Dan. 00:17:09 Speaker 6: It's the New York Next. 00:17:10 Speaker 10: If the update is due at five o'clock. They will tell us at five oh one. They did the we don't know what you're talking about last night thing tell us when we were saying, hey, did you know that og you know, grabbed his leg and was limping off, and they were like, oh, we don't know about testing. 00:17:26 Speaker 6: We don't know anything. 00:17:27 Speaker 10: So they're not going to do anything or tell us anything until they absolutely have to. 00:17:31 Speaker 6: There's no practice today. 00:17:33 Speaker 10: They're going to shoot around tomorrow, but they're not going to tell us anything until the league mandates that they do at five pm this afternoon. 00:17:39 Speaker 2: Surprised that the Lakers are fifteen and a half point underdogs. 00:17:43 Speaker 10: Have you seen the Oklahoma City Thunder Daniel, I'm very curious what people believe about this thunder team. Like, once the shine of the possible seven seventy win thing flew off of them, we stop paying attention to them. And when we stopped paying attention to him, you looked at the roster and you're like, wait, everybody can defend, and everybody can defend the level up or a level down. 00:18:08 Speaker 6: You can use chet homegun at the realm. You can use chet home gun in space. 00:18:12 Speaker 10: You can use the aj Mitchells of the world at the rim or in space like nobody's uncomfortable at any point in the floor. 00:18:18 Speaker 6: And the Lakers have an older. 00:18:20 Speaker 10: Lebron James who can only give it to you in spurts, Like in Game one, he had a great game, but he gave it to you in spurts. It wasn't like he was flying up and down the floor. This wasn't Game one of the twenty eighteen NBA Finals where he emptied the tank and almost took out one of the greatest teams we've ever seen. He gave you twenty five efficient YMCA points. 00:18:41 Speaker 6: Oh man, I'm gonna get. 00:18:42 Speaker 10: On the break because because I'm at half court, you know, like that type of thing. 00:18:46 Speaker 6: There's only so much that he can do. 00:18:48 Speaker 10: And Luca's not coming back, and Austin reeves he didn't give you anything because he's still recovering from injury. 00:18:54 Speaker 6: The Lakers don't have many options. 00:18:57 Speaker 2: And it's weird how we will designate one of the great teams of all time. You know, if you three Pete then you're in the conversation. But if you win two titles, even then we can be grudgingly say, well, you know, they were really a great team. It took a while for people to acknowledge the Spurs' dynasty because you know, they weren't exciting. They were just a wonderfully coached, skilled team. And it feels like, Oka, see, you have to go out of your way to watch them or want to watch them. Now it's the postseason, you're kind of forced to, like, I'm more fascinated watching Steph or Victor or Joker than I AMSGA and OKC. But here they are again on the precipice of going back to back. At what point let's say that happens, At what point do they need or what do they need to accomplish where we go? You know what, you can put them in there with whatever team in the last fifteen years. 00:19:55 Speaker 10: It's funny, Dan, because in this era of parody, the way that we value eight great teams or great eras has to change because back to backs no longer exist in the way that we think of them. Right, the last team to go back to back was the seventeen eighteen Golden State Warriors, and it took for them to get Kevin Durant for them to go back to the back and break the game. And even by then, Dan, remember they went to Game seven in the Western Conference Finals against the Houston Rockets of James Harden and Chris Paul and it took twenty seven straight mysteries for them to get to the Farmers. And that was one of the single season greatest teams we've ever seen. And by the next year, someone in the league had the nerve to catch up. I think with Oklahoma City, I think there is something to that we don't watch them enough, we don't pay attention, and the conversation isn't fawning. It's about lou Dort sticking his leg out and doing the ww E stuff, which I personally don't like, right. I do not like the giving off the appearance that a player looks like he is trying to hurt people. 00:20:58 Speaker 7: Right. 00:20:58 Speaker 6: Then there is the Shaye Gilders. 00:21:00 Speaker 10: Alexander conversation where if you put your hand anywhere near his zip code, he's flailing all over the place like. It's not a pretty conversation to have, but you cannot deny their overall greatness, starting with Sam Presty and even Shay as the efficient ball player that he is. If and when they win this year, and we're gonna say, man, this is the first team to repeat since those Golden State teams, which will be the third team to repeat since the Miami Heat of Lebron and Dwayne Wade, then. 00:21:27 Speaker 6: We'll be able to say it. 00:21:28 Speaker 10: But I will say this about those Spurs teams Dan, they never went back to back, and I do think there's something about starting the year with the with the target on your back, going through the eighty two game gauntlet and not being able to avoid playing eighty two playoff games, and then playing another season of playoff basketball and coming back out on top. I will say that is a ballid criticism that they didn't go back to back, but I will still call them a worthy dynasty. 00:21:56 Speaker 2: We're talking to a big time Vincent Goodwill, ESPN, NBA. She your writer. He was there at Game three at the Garden last night. Do you walk along celebrity Road just to get a closer look at the celebrities? 00:22:09 Speaker 11: Dan? 00:22:09 Speaker 6: See? 00:22:10 Speaker 10: This is how disconnected Dan is from US common folk, because Dan is a member of celebrity row. When you are a regular peasant, they don't allow you anywhere near those people thirty minutes before the game starts. 00:22:24 Speaker 6: Like jay Z was at the game last night. Do you think they let us us cretans in the media anywhere. They're absolutely not. Well. 00:22:32 Speaker 2: They do have this holding area holding it's a green room that's right off the court, and then all of a sudden they go, okay, let's go, and then everybody goes out to their seats and then the game begins. 00:22:44 Speaker 10: So you only someone like you would know that, Dan, go ahead and pull us behind the velvet rope and tell us more about this celebrity life. 00:22:53 Speaker 2: Dan, did you see Draymond and Charles Berkley last night? 00:22:58 Speaker 10: I did, and I like Draymond a lot. I will say this, Charles Barkley has become such a cartoon character on television. 00:23:09 Speaker 6: We can't be disrespecting the player that Charles Barkley was. 00:23:11 Speaker 10: Charles Barkley was a phenomenal player at every single level of his career. You can call him fat and out of shape, you can say all the things. He never won a championship, but that man was never less than a top three player at his position every single damn season that he played where he was himself, not one single season even in Houston. 00:23:33 Speaker 2: If you could have Draymond Green's career or Charles Barkley's career. 00:23:40 Speaker 10: Are the suspensions and sleeper holes included and the rings. I still say, give me Chuck, Chuck had fun. 00:23:50 Speaker 6: Give it. 00:23:51 Speaker 10: Chuck did the right Guard commercials. Remember those right Guard commercials that Chuck used to do that Marvin Hagler did, and Chuck was doing the Gatorade. If I could see that, he is me and I just want to be like Chuck. He went to Barcelona and the Olympics and all that stuff. Look, man, Charles Barkley was a terror from let's say nineteen eighty seven to nineteen nine. 00:24:13 Speaker 6: That ten year run was some of the best. 00:24:15 Speaker 10: Basketball at the power forward position that we've ever ever seen. And Draymond Green is a great champion. I think I'm gonna take the you'll take Chuck, I'll take Chuck. 00:24:31 Speaker 2: I happened to ask Reggie Miller the question of whose career Draymond or Carmelo Anthony. And yeah, Carmelo wasn't happy with me that I made that comparison. Apparently he said, keep my name out of your mouth, Dan Patrick. 00:24:46 Speaker 10: What did he send that message to you or on social media? 00:24:50 Speaker 2: Social media? 00:24:52 Speaker 6: Okay, so we're not going to talk about Carmelo Anthony. Then, oh, I don't care. 00:24:58 Speaker 2: I like Mello. I give me just your question to Reggie. And you know what Reggie said, He'd take Draymond Green's career. 00:25:07 Speaker 6: I could see. I mean, well, Reggie Miller had Carmelo Anthony's career. It was Reggie Miller, like. I get it. 00:25:13 Speaker 10: And when you get that close to like Reggie was to championships and you don't win because there's the supernova in front of you. There's the Michael Jordan of the time in front of you. He knows what it's like to be that. Let me go and be something else. 00:25:29 Speaker 6: I get it. 00:25:31 Speaker 2: Mello wasn't happy that I somehow put his name out there in the ether and. 00:25:37 Speaker 6: Mellow's apart of the media. 00:25:38 Speaker 2: Now I know. That's why I thought I have a sense of humor here. You know, there are days when we have to come up with content here. You know, I have to do three hours here. Sometimes you have to ask, you know, stupid comic questions here. 00:25:51 Speaker 6: That's all Dan, I get it. 00:25:54 Speaker 10: Would you like it's the age old question of would you rather be Robert or or would you rather be the man? And Robert Dory said, I'd rather be the man than be myself. 00:26:05 Speaker 6: I know what it's likes to be me. I want to be somebody else. 00:26:10 Speaker 2: Uh just remember us. So you know, you know you got big time. What shoes there are you wearing? Air Jordan's Uh. 00:26:18 Speaker 6: Not no, not right now. I am from Detroit. 00:26:21 Speaker 10: It is playoff time, so we we the Jordan rules are in place during playoff time. 00:26:27 Speaker 6: That's that's what this is. 00:26:28 Speaker 2: Dan, what's the hot shoe right now? 00:26:32 Speaker 10: I don't know what the hell the hot shoe is? Dan, I'm I've aged out of this. I only buy stuff that I'm like, I don't know what these kids are wearing now. Sometimes, Nike, you will send me a gift package and you know, all of that stuff, and I'll work out in them. But Dan, I'm you know, I'm washed. As the kids would. 00:26:48 Speaker 2: Say, well, what's Timothy Chalomay wearing court side? 00:26:53 Speaker 10: Okay, I'm gonna be honest with you, Dan, I had no idea who the hell Timothy's shallow May was until I moved to New York and saw him on the Jumbo Tron every night. 00:27:02 Speaker 2: Then you are or older than I thought. 00:27:07 Speaker 10: We did this a couple of years ago. We get where we guessed Vinnie's age, and that we. 00:27:10 Speaker 6: Found out that black don't crack. 00:27:12 Speaker 10: But that's also that's also where then I'm wearing a Stevie Wonder hoodie. 00:27:17 Speaker 6: My Spotify age is like sixty five. That makes me older than you, you know what I mean? 00:27:23 Speaker 2: Come on, I'm turning seventy next Friday. 00:27:28 Speaker 6: Man White don't crack it. 00:27:32 Speaker 2: So Michael Jackson or Stevie Wonder's career. 00:27:37 Speaker 6: Ooh, of course, that's that's Stevie, Stevie Wonder his career. 00:27:41 Speaker 2: Prince want Prince or Stevie Wonder. 00:27:46 Speaker 10: Stevie by a hair just because it's lower maintenance. Michael and Stevie had to go through all the labor of dancing and heels. Stevie was on the piano or on the on the guitar or on the RUMs. 00:28:01 Speaker 6: That's less pressure on my knees. 00:28:02 Speaker 10: Dan Well, Dan whose classic error? Would you rather have Stevie in the seventies, Prince in the eighties or Michael in the eighties. 00:28:15 Speaker 2: Mike was maybe the most famous person in the world during his run. I mean, Stevie was incredible, h and Prince had his run too, but nobody compared to Michael. 00:28:27 Speaker 6: Would you want to be the most famous person on that. 00:28:29 Speaker 2: I would not. Would you rather be Michael Jackson or have Michael Jordan's career? 00:28:37 Speaker 6: Oh, I've had. 00:28:38 Speaker 10: Oh, Michael Jordan's career absolutely, because Michael Jordan's in NASCAR now where he can just be himself, right And if nothing else, when Michael Jordan's performing, fans ain't fainting and trying to come on the stage and kissing me or break my neck. 00:28:54 Speaker 6: The only person I gotta worry about breaking my neck is Bill Lambier. I can avoid that. 00:28:58 Speaker 2: Thank you mention. Good to tell to you as always appreciate it. Dan, that's Vincent Goodwill. Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in the nation. Catch all of our shows at Foxsports Radio dot com and within the iHeartRadio app search FSR to listen live. NBA lottery coming up on Sunday. Kind of snuck up, honest, there's a lot of talent there. Let's see. Bucks owner Jimmy Haslin wants uh Yannis Uh? Does he wanted to make a decision here soon? Or let me see uh? Bucks owner wants the honest future. Oh, so he's saying the Bucks have to decide here soon what they're gonna do with Yannis doesn't this feel like a foregone conclusion that Jannis is not going to be there, that he's you know, they'll find a way. Uh see, if somebody wants to take him, what do they get in return? Uh? You still got music underneath me? 00:29:57 Speaker 6: Marvin? 00:29:59 Speaker 2: There you go? 00:30:00 Speaker 6: All right? 00:30:01 Speaker 2: Dealing with you? 00:30:01 Speaker 3: Updates, pull results, I will, Dan, So we have who is more sensitive Carmelo, Anthony, Draymond Green or Fritzy Draymond leading the charge? 00:30:13 Speaker 11: Yes? 00:30:13 Speaker 4: I did not would have winn that. 00:30:14 Speaker 3: Okay, Golden Tempo not running the Preakness is smart, lame, soft, but understandable, say. 00:30:22 Speaker 2: Lame, wow, wow? Okay. Who has the best odds for the draft lottery right now? 00:30:32 Speaker 5: As always? Washington, Indiana, and Brooklyn all have a fourteen percent chance for the number one pick. The next tier is Utah and Sacramento eleven point five. Then it's Memphis, New Orleans, Dallas, Chicago, Milwaukee, and then it gets into those one percent chants Golden State, Oklahoma City from the Clippers of course, Miami and Charlotte. 00:30:55 Speaker 2: Okay, Eric in Oregon, Hi, Eric, what's on your mind today? 00:31:00 Speaker 11: Hey? 00:31:01 Speaker 4: Dan? 00:31:01 Speaker 11: Just real quick on the whole whose career would you rather have Carmelo, Anthony or Draymond Green. I'm gonna take Carmelo, honestly, you know, all time scorer. You know, I think he's in the top ten. Paully might have to check, you know, obviously the Syracuse thing, and you know, quite frankly, you should keep his name in your mouth because I think it's an honor to be spoken by the great Salisbury Steak savory voice of the great Dan Patrick. 00:31:28 Speaker 2: Thank you, Eric Carmelo, eleventh all time scorer. 00:31:35 Speaker 5: Yeah, NBA history not counting ABA, And. 00:31:38 Speaker 2: I don't think there's a wrong answer here if Draymond Green and winning titles or being one of the greatest scores of all time, he also won a national championship at Syracuse. I wanted Reggie to answer the question because Reggie didn't win a championship, and I wanted to know Reggie was a great scorer, a Hall of famer. But what he look at it and say, I already did it where I didn't win. I would love to have known what it's like to win a championship or two, and Draymond won four. That's all. That's all this was. It wasn't criticizing, condemning, Mello's career at all. 00:32:15 Speaker 6: It was. 00:32:17 Speaker 2: You choose this or you choose that. It's a sophie's choice for sports. You gotta make a tough decision. Yes, what about who would. 00:32:26 Speaker 3: You rather hang out with? Carmelo or Draymond? Forgetting recent events? 00:32:32 Speaker 2: I don't know. Mellow seems like a hang Yeah, I feel like that one's easier then. Yeah. Yeah, it feels like Draymond would always be like tense, you know, might be yelling at you, you know, while trying to have a sense of humor. Yes, marmon, Yeah, he. 00:32:48 Speaker 8: Might be one of those guys where I might crack a joke and he'll go, see, that's why your dad left dun wow. 00:32:55 Speaker 2: Yeah, someone who says the wrong thing a lot. I don't think. I think we'd run out of steam pretty quick. I would have to tee up Draymond if he said that that he's if he said, oh, that's why your dad left you and your mom, then I'd have to tee him up. 00:33:11 Speaker 6: Man. 00:33:12 Speaker 8: I was like, that was a little bit harsh. I was just cracking a little joke. Yeah, Oh we're friends. 00:33:17 Speaker 2: Yeah, Now it feels like Mellow you have a cigar, you know, he maybe would be mellow, and then we get past the awkward. Hey, why did you bring up Draymond in my career? And I say, Mello, we're past that, man, don't worry about that, Yes, Todd, and. 00:33:33 Speaker 4: Draymond has to be the set your attention and we know how that goes. How brutal is it to be with someone that feels like it's got to be all about them? 00:33:38 Speaker 2: Thank you, Todd. Absolutely nobody inserts themselves more when they're not supposed to, or they shouldn't. Than you enough about these guys? 00:33:50 Speaker 6: What about me? 00:33:50 Speaker 4: Look at my bad Newspair shirt. 00:33:53 Speaker 2: Yeah, Todd has his Chico Bale Bond's Bad Newspairer Shirtloopers. 00:33:58 Speaker 4: Maybe if you picked your nose, what's actually? If you what knows what's in a while, people wouldn't give you so much crud all the time? 00:34:02 Speaker 2: Crud? 00:34:03 Speaker 4: What of my favorite line? 00:34:04 Speaker 2: Crud? Tune in Saturday May ninth, as the Pistons faced the Cavaliers starting at three eastern. You'll find that on NBC and Peacock, which is where you also find this show. We were we stumbled last night, my wife and my daughters and I we stumbled upon the will Ferrell scene in Old School when he shoots himself with the tranquilizer dart. Oh my goodness, it was so good. And Sean Williams with his mullet. He he almost steals the scene from Will so that you know the guy who played Stiffler and I ask Will. I text him right after. I said how many takes did you have on that? And he said, not many because they shoot it. And then all of a sudden he has the dart affixed to his neck, his jugular, and so he said, not many takes with that. But oh god, I laughed so hard. And he's and he's pushing little kids out of the way and in his voice war he falls into the pool and then you hear that Simon and Garfunkel, Hello darkness, my old friends. Yes still, I. 00:35:20 Speaker 3: Was gonna say the sound of silence. And then when he's sinking at the bottom of the pool is one of the most well timed songs in the movie. 00:35:26 Speaker 2: I think, ever, uh yeah, Pully. 00:35:29 Speaker 5: I think my favorite line of Old School is when Will Streaking, his character is streaking, his wife and friends find him. He gets in the car and they start yelling him, and then he ends the scene with you think KFC still opened such a bow on that scene. 00:35:42 Speaker 2: But I love there's so many sneaky things in that movie. When he's streaking and he backs into the back seat with his butt right in front of those the women who are in the car, and uh so you see his you know, button backing into the back seat. But I asked him, I said, what was kind of holding you together? And he said, I had this pouch that I put everything in a little little sock of sorts, but he called it a pouch so he could run freely down the street. And he said there were actual people on the street there watching him who weren't in the movie. They're just seeing this grown man and Will's like six' four running down the. 00:36:30 Speaker 8: Street, Yes, marvin the frat pack as they were, called they put on some great. Movies was That, Zoolander Old, School, Anchorman, dodgeball they had a run right, There wedding Crash. 00:36:41 Speaker 2: Crashers, yeah they had some good stuff. Story he ran Into Tom, cruise told him about the film and, said gallo something for me, there and he's, like you're. Joking, no Because Tom cruise at that time or any, time would be unavailable for a comedy to do a, cameo and he first was going to Be Ben steller's, agent which was played by, McConaughey And Tom cruise, said how about a bigger role Where i'm the studio, Head and according To Ben, steller people, thought, well this is never gonna. Happen they're never gonna Let Tom cruise be in a movie because he didn't get paid really to be in the. Movie and he's awesome in that.
