<v Speaker 1>Tendo podcast.
<v Speaker 2>Everybody, it's so nice to have you all here.
<v Speaker 1>My name is wood Over, there is Bingle, and if
<v Speaker 1>I yell loud enough, we just too me.
<v Speaker 2>And we also have joining us today, Logan Logan Plant
<v Speaker 2>from IGN.
<v Speaker 3>What's up, guys, happy to be here.
<v Speaker 1>So happy to have you.
<v Speaker 2>Hate to take the moment away from you immediately, but
<v Speaker 2>I need to let people know what's happening because it's
<v Speaker 2>gonna bother me to no end.
<v Speaker 1>One chat.
<v Speaker 2>I need you to let me know if you hear me.
<v Speaker 2>Two bingals trying to cover his microphone. We have a
<v Speaker 2>we have a live switcher. I bought this new upgrade,
<v Speaker 2>Thank you, Patreons. I bought this new upgrade for the show.
<v Speaker 2>It was very expensive and it automatically switches cameras and
<v Speaker 2>I gotta tell you it was the biggest pain in
<v Speaker 2>the neck to set up. And it's essentially working. I mean,
<v Speaker 2>it's throwing to Bingle every now and then because it
<v Speaker 2>hears me, like if I if I talk really loud,
<v Speaker 2>it's on me. But it's also cool because even with
<v Speaker 2>Logan coming in through discord here, it knows to cut
<v Speaker 2>to him when he talks.
<v Speaker 1>So give that a shot.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, it cuts right to me, and then it likes
<v Speaker 3>to hang on me when I'm done for a couple
<v Speaker 3>of seconds.
<v Speaker 2>Well that's good because I want to Nope, wait, talk again.
<v Speaker 3>Oh yep, okay, come back to me. Yep, okay, I'm
<v Speaker 3>not listening school. I think it's cool working it out, but.
<v Speaker 1>I like it.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, it's also cool because it's feeding back through to
<v Speaker 2>you so you can see all the cuts as well.
<v Speaker 2>It's really good, and everyone in chat says it sounds good,
<v Speaker 2>so other than one person that said no sound just
<v Speaker 2>to annoy me, but yeah, no, it seems like it's
<v Speaker 2>all working. So I'm going to try my best to
<v Speaker 2>let my head not think about the fact that something
<v Speaker 2>is auto cutting through the episodes. I can actually pretty
<v Speaker 2>much relax.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, that's the whole point.
<v Speaker 2>King, Although it removed all capability from me in the
<v Speaker 2>way of actually controlling audio, so if there is any
<v Speaker 2>audio issues, we're screwed for the day.
<v Speaker 1>Logan.
<v Speaker 2>I'm gonna shut up about that. I'm actually gonna do
<v Speaker 2>one thing before I talk to you, and that's this.
<v Speaker 1>Logan. How are you feeling today? Good?
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, I mean it's it's nice to finally be on
<v Speaker 3>we bonded over my Mario and Luigi Brothership review like
<v Speaker 3>eight months ago, and yeah, it's been a long time coming.
<v Speaker 2>I know we've been talking about this for a while.
<v Speaker 2>So for those that don't remember or didn't see it,
<v Speaker 2>Logan over here, who is just on the camera because
<v Speaker 2>my switcher is. I told you it's gonna bother me,
<v Speaker 2>which is fine, you preditful. I'd love to see you
<v Speaker 2>when I'm talking to you, to be honest. Yeah, Logan
<v Speaker 2>gave Mario Brothership a five out of ten in his
<v Speaker 2>IGN review, and then it was I was playing Mario
<v Speaker 2>and Luigi and I was like, this game is a.
<v Speaker 1>Five out of ten.
<v Speaker 2>But everyone was so mad at you for your five
<v Speaker 2>out of ten because mid as hell, well it was mid.
<v Speaker 2>We felt that it was mid that and that is
<v Speaker 2>a five out of ten for IGN. Isn't as mediocre
<v Speaker 2>is the.
<v Speaker 3>Idiocre, which pretty much means mid, right, It's kind of
<v Speaker 3>the same.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, it's the same thing.
<v Speaker 2>And so in my review when I when I started
<v Speaker 2>to realize I really resonated and agreed with your review,
<v Speaker 2>I was like, wouldn't it be a trip if I
<v Speaker 2>got the guy from IGN to join my video to
<v Speaker 2>join forces and we joined double Down on the five
<v Speaker 2>out of ten and you were more than happy to
<v Speaker 2>do it. And it was one of the more interesting
<v Speaker 2>and unique reviews I think I've done because of that.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, and we formed our own brothership because of that video.
<v Speaker 3>That's so true.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, we really got along like a house on fire.
<v Speaker 2>I mean, I cut a lot out of the video,
<v Speaker 2>but we were I was staring at your background wall
<v Speaker 2>there when we were making the video and just looking
<v Speaker 2>at all the stuff you've got, and it I would
<v Speaker 2>cut to it and show it, but I can't.
<v Speaker 3>I can cut to it. I can cut to it
<v Speaker 3>myself for you. It is a mebo CRT and Majora's mask.
<v Speaker 2>Breath that's a really cool Zeta stuff. And then of course,
<v Speaker 2>over your left hand shoulder there too, or at least
<v Speaker 2>our left hand from where we're looking, is an NVC,
<v Speaker 2>which is a Nintendo Voice Chat, which is your podcast
<v Speaker 2>now that you're now the lead the lead anchor.
<v Speaker 3>Of Yes Yeah I Am. Last time we talked, I wasn't.
<v Speaker 3>I was a panelist, but then I took over full
<v Speaker 3>time in February of this year, and it's I mean,
<v Speaker 3>it's been so much fun. Like we went to New
<v Speaker 3>York to cover the Nintendo Switch To Preview events and
<v Speaker 3>that was really fun, going hands on with Mario kur World,
<v Speaker 3>Donkey Kong Bonanza. I went to San Francisco to talk
<v Speaker 3>to Doug Bowser for the opening of the Nintendo San
<v Speaker 3>Francisco store, which is really cool. So it's been a
<v Speaker 3>crazy year, Like in the eight months since we've talked, like,
<v Speaker 3>it's just been a whirlwind. So yeah, happy that I
<v Speaker 3>can come on and talk about switch to with you now.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, it all exploded really quickly for you, which is
<v Speaker 2>so cool, and I love seeing it. I love it
<v Speaker 2>because it was like seeing my boy from IGN at
<v Speaker 2>that point, you know, blowing up within the within the
<v Speaker 2>IGN acre system. And the other thing is that's cool
<v Speaker 2>is that you know, this podcast is our little podcast.
<v Speaker 2>Here's a little independent podcast. And in the charts on
<v Speaker 2>the Apple Charts, you know, we always ride like top fifteen,
<v Speaker 2>top ten somewhere around there, which is really awesome, but
<v Speaker 2>we're always knocked out by the big podcast, you know,
<v Speaker 2>your IGN, your giant bombs, your your kind of funny
<v Speaker 2>stuff like that. And the only other Nintendo podcast that
<v Speaker 2>was above this one in the rankings was Nintendo Voice
<v Speaker 2>chout from IGN. So now that you're the lead of it,
<v Speaker 2>it feels not only more like an actual healthy rivalry
<v Speaker 2>that like it's like a brother ship rivalry. But I
<v Speaker 2>feel like I feel like my boy is the one
<v Speaker 2>that's above me, which makes me feel better about myself.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, no, it's it's been awesome seeing all the Nintendo
<v Speaker 3>podcast years included especially with like that Switch to Bump,
<v Speaker 3>like I've seen oh You and awesome Christa like they.
<v Speaker 1>And Christoph friends of the show.
<v Speaker 2>I don't know if you know. They've been on the
<v Speaker 2>podcast a couple of times. We did in person episodes too,
<v Speaker 2>and love them so much. They keep blowing up because
<v Speaker 2>everything they say on their podcast is getting clipped online
<v Speaker 2>and they're always referred to as like Nintendo x Nintendo
<v Speaker 2>management or x Nintendo execs or like some And every
<v Speaker 2>time Kit gets on social media's with a post and
<v Speaker 2>he's like, okay, so we want execs were we were
<v Speaker 2>in public relations.
<v Speaker 1>But yes, we did say that.
<v Speaker 3>If people love running with those those headlines, they love it,
<v Speaker 3>and every time I see one, I'm like, I know
<v Speaker 3>this is gonna be an excerpt from the Kidd and
<v Speaker 3>Chrystal podcast. And they're like the only ones that had
<v Speaker 3>that inside knowledge that are talking about and they have
<v Speaker 3>really good stuff like around the Switch two launch, they
<v Speaker 3>had an episode that was like the five Biggest Blunders
<v Speaker 3>or something, and what happened internally like that episode is
<v Speaker 3>really great too. Not just pump up their show. We're
<v Speaker 3>here to pump up our shows.
<v Speaker 1>But that was real good.
<v Speaker 2>I mean, yeah, to say today credit because I love
<v Speaker 2>them so much. I mean they were in public relations,
<v Speaker 2>they were in like marketing, so they really know how
<v Speaker 2>to push and promote things, right, So they they're so
<v Speaker 2>good at pushing and promoting their own work and their
<v Speaker 2>own podcast and getting their clips out there. I'm so
<v Speaker 2>envious of it. Yeah, I higher them certain, all right, well,
<v Speaker 2>good to have you. And also Bingle, how you doing.
<v Speaker 1>I'm doing good?
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, how the how was the riding hot? Yeah, it's
<v Speaker 2>very hard. It's been hard.
<v Speaker 1>It's insane outside.
<v Speaker 2>Okay, So there's a lot of things. So I want
<v Speaker 2>to essentially do the show as normal with you Logan
<v Speaker 2>and just go through our like normal doc and I
<v Speaker 2>just want I want to get your input on everything
<v Speaker 2>that we would be talking about normally. And you know,
<v Speaker 2>the headline is the two headlines and Nintendo's raising the
<v Speaker 2>price on the switch, and Nintendo is getting sued by Brazil.
<v Speaker 2>But before we talk about all of that, another reason
<v Speaker 2>why we jumped on getting you back on the show
<v Speaker 2>was because a couple of weeks ago, IGN once again
<v Speaker 2>got into a little bit of hot water with audiences
<v Speaker 2>online for their review of the Nintendo Switch too. Now,
<v Speaker 2>I'm gonna profess preface this for you a little bit
<v Speaker 2>because it wasn't your review. Uh it was for one,
<v Speaker 2>and I'm sure there's only so much you can actually
<v Speaker 2>say about it and the seven out of ten that
<v Speaker 2>IGN gave it since it wasn't your review, and I'm
<v Speaker 2>not looking to get you fired, but.
<v Speaker 1>I do want your thoughts.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, I do want your thoughts on that seven out
<v Speaker 2>of ten and then ultimately I would love to know
<v Speaker 2>what you actually write the Nintendo Switch two.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, no, I think that. So Tom Marks reviewed it.
<v Speaker 3>He's our executive reviews editor over at IGN. He edits
<v Speaker 3>all of my reviews that I write, and yeah, I
<v Speaker 3>just like for a little peek behind the curtain as
<v Speaker 3>much as I can say, Like, I think what people
<v Speaker 3>don't get is like when one person writes a review,
<v Speaker 3>like we're all talking about it. We're all like reading it,
<v Speaker 3>editing it, giving opinions, talking about things like there's a
<v Speaker 3>ton of thought that goes into the number that people
<v Speaker 3>just see on social media. And that's why I like
<v Speaker 3>that you invite me on here to talk about it.
<v Speaker 3>Would because a lot of people don't actually read the review.
<v Speaker 3>They just see the score and say, oh, classic ign
<v Speaker 3>it's a seven out of ten. It was like, no,
<v Speaker 3>lots hours and hours and hours of thought and nuance
<v Speaker 3>went into that article and even that number, and so
<v Speaker 3>Tom gave it a seven out of ten, and I
<v Speaker 3>think really just kind of the core conceit of the
<v Speaker 3>review is that we're kind of in an era where
<v Speaker 3>console upgrades are starting to feel like phone upgrades. Like
<v Speaker 3>this is a switch. It's it's a better Nintendo switch,
<v Speaker 3>and that's still a very good thing, and seven out
<v Speaker 3>of ten means good, but it just doesn't have some
<v Speaker 3>of those bells and whistles that were typically used to
<v Speaker 3>getting from a brand new Nintendo console. I see that argument,
<v Speaker 3>and I completely agree with it to like the large
<v Speaker 3>extent that the switch to is just a better switch.
<v Speaker 3>It has some downfalls. The battery life is really really rough,
<v Speaker 3>the mouse controls are cool, but not the most comfortable
<v Speaker 3>for extended periods of time. So right now, I think
<v Speaker 3>that's a fair score, and I'm not too far off
<v Speaker 3>from that personally either.
<v Speaker 1>Wow. I love that.
<v Speaker 2>Wow you so I got to say, when we found
<v Speaker 2>the Mario and Luigi brother ship thing, you did the
<v Speaker 2>same thing. When I asked you a question, you would
<v Speaker 2>beast mode through a reply and it's it's like a
<v Speaker 2>well edited review on the fly with no like vocal mistakes.
<v Speaker 1>I don't know how you do that.
<v Speaker 2>It was actually kind of challenging to edit around it
<v Speaker 2>because you would talk for so long and all of
<v Speaker 2>it was so good.
<v Speaker 3>I got, hey, well, that's that's good. I think that's
<v Speaker 3>a good criticism.
<v Speaker 1>That's good.
<v Speaker 2>Is that media training or you just like really good
<v Speaker 2>at talking in the Gift of the Gab.
<v Speaker 3>I did go to I did go to school for
<v Speaker 3>journalism and did someone really radio class?
<v Speaker 1>Yeah? I did. Wow.
<v Speaker 3>I guess to do what I'm doing. You at Washington
<v Speaker 3>State University, the Edward Rmurow School of.
<v Speaker 2>Communication, which is when did you graduate?
<v Speaker 1>Twenty twenty? In the pandemic? How old are you? Twenty seven?
<v Speaker 1>Woll You're good, You're good. I let you're good, damn good, like.
<v Speaker 3>My resume.
<v Speaker 1>I find it really interesting.
<v Speaker 2>I mean, I actually think it's good to learn about
<v Speaker 2>the people that actually work at IGN and put face
<v Speaker 2>to the name, which is another reason why I did
<v Speaker 2>it in the Mario and Luigi video. All this is
<v Speaker 2>the way I liked doing it because people don't really
<v Speaker 2>realize or think about And we've talked about this before.
<v Speaker 1>I'm going to get back to what you said about
<v Speaker 1>the switch to score.
<v Speaker 2>Think about the fact that when you get all these
<v Speaker 2>IGN reviews, you get like a three out of ten here,
<v Speaker 2>seven out of ten there, and it doesn't really seem
<v Speaker 2>to sync up. It's like, oh, but you gave this
<v Speaker 2>to this and this to that.
<v Speaker 1>IGN.
<v Speaker 2>It's the individual people working there reviewing it. That's the
<v Speaker 2>name of the game when it comes to big publications
<v Speaker 2>like that, is that multiple people there. They take different reviews,
<v Speaker 2>they do different things.
<v Speaker 1>And if you really want to learn.
<v Speaker 2>About a specific score that a person working there is giving,
<v Speaker 2>just like yourself, you can actually click on your name
<v Speaker 2>on like IGN and you can see all the other
<v Speaker 2>reviews that you've given things, which is what I did
<v Speaker 2>when you gave Mario Brothership a five out of ten.
<v Speaker 2>I went through and looked at all your other Nintendo
<v Speaker 2>Switch game reviews, and I agree with all of them.
<v Speaker 2>I can't remember them all off hand, but you said
<v Speaker 2>Jamboree was the best Mario Party, Endless Ocean sucked. Everything
<v Speaker 2>you said. I was like, yeah, this guy gets it.
<v Speaker 3>I agree with and Less Ocean did suck. Yeah that
<v Speaker 3>game sucked.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, that was a four out of ten feet What
<v Speaker 2>does a four meana?
<v Speaker 1>Ign? Bad? It means bad bad.
<v Speaker 2>That's another thing too that you taught me is uh,
<v Speaker 2>it's weird how IGN does it a little bit? In
<v Speaker 2>my opinion, I'm not speaking for you. You do a
<v Speaker 2>number rating, which most people in their head, they have
<v Speaker 2>like a idea of what a number means to them, right,
<v Speaker 2>and seven is borderlining in my mind, borderlines on like
<v Speaker 2>average to mediocre. But to IGN, a seven is good, right,
<v Speaker 2>It's like that that's the actual word used that's tied
<v Speaker 2>to seven is good.
<v Speaker 3>Yes, it's good.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah.
<v Speaker 3>It's like there's like review inflation, I think because there's
<v Speaker 3>so many games that come out every single day, Like
<v Speaker 3>hundreds of games drop on Steam every day, and those
<v Speaker 3>games range anywhere from like one to ten, but most
<v Speaker 3>of like the high profile games that websites and YouTubers
<v Speaker 3>actually review are usually going to be in the upper
<v Speaker 3>end of that scale, and so people get this idea
<v Speaker 3>in their heads that seven is on the lower end
<v Speaker 3>of the scale, when it's not. It's it's seven, like
<v Speaker 3>it's closer to ten minutes one significantly.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, yeah, you're not wrong.
<v Speaker 2>It is seven, and that's what we've got here. I
<v Speaker 2>suppose should have shown this from Tom Marks. So the
<v Speaker 2>official tagline to the ru I mean you can read
<v Speaker 2>the whole review of the article, or that the review
<v Speaker 2>is quite lengthy here, but the tagline is good. The
<v Speaker 2>note switch to is a vital upgrade over the original switch.
<v Speaker 2>It's that the only way you've been able to play
<v Speaker 2>games for the last eight years. But improvements that of mostly
<v Speaker 2>playing catch up and big price jump made this sequel
<v Speaker 2>system about as exciting as a long overdue phone upgrade
<v Speaker 2>in the larger scheme of things. And he said it
<v Speaker 2>was good, and I mean, he's not inherently wrong, and
<v Speaker 2>I feel like I don't think he's wrong at all. Actually,
<v Speaker 2>I don't know why I said it like that. I
<v Speaker 2>feel like, if you're not like a giant Nintendo fan,
<v Speaker 2>that was just so excited to lick Mario's boots one
<v Speaker 2>more time, you know what I mean, Like it is
<v Speaker 2>kind of just good, and it's kind of just like
<v Speaker 2>it's also the hard way and the and the console
<v Speaker 2>he's reviewing. He's not reviewing like the experience of playing
<v Speaker 2>Mario cot on it or like cybopunk on it. It's
<v Speaker 2>just the actual system in itself is good.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, exactly. I just like looviewed against every every handheld everything,
<v Speaker 3>Like it's its place as a console in the marketplace,
<v Speaker 3>not in the Nintendo bubble, which a lot of Nintendo
<v Speaker 3>fans can be in sometimes, like you said, and like
<v Speaker 3>our review says, like if you just had a switch,
<v Speaker 3>this is huge, But otherwise, like if you have a
<v Speaker 3>PS five or an Xbox Series X, it's just adding things.
<v Speaker 3>That is, it's kind of playing catch up in that way.
<v Speaker 3>It has HDR now, it has four K support, it
<v Speaker 3>has a ten ADP screen like it's playing Ketchup in
<v Speaker 3>a lot of ways. So I think it's totally fair. Yeah,
<v Speaker 3>I think that seven is fine. And yeah, I'm kind
<v Speaker 3>of right there with Tom.
<v Speaker 2>Okay, No, I mean I think it's a valid opinion.
<v Speaker 2>Like we actually were talking about it, like last week
<v Speaker 2>or the week before. I came yeah, and then I
<v Speaker 2>was like, initially I was like seven, seven, come on,
<v Speaker 2>ign And then I was like, I would give it, well,
<v Speaker 2>hold on. As soon as I started thinking about it,
<v Speaker 2>I was like, you know, I'd probably give it an eight. Honestly,
<v Speaker 2>for me, i'd give it an eight and how much
<v Speaker 2>I'm enjoying it. But I mean, seven, eight, they're right
<v Speaker 2>next to each other. Like, am I gonna like pooh
<v Speaker 2>pooh on someone for liking it just a little bit
<v Speaker 2>less than me? And that's even if I'm thinking as
<v Speaker 2>none of the Yeah, a lot.
<v Speaker 1>Of people do.
<v Speaker 2>And that's even if I'm thinking about it just as numbers,
<v Speaker 2>let alone good.
<v Speaker 1>What's an eight?
<v Speaker 2>What's what's the word for eight?
<v Speaker 1>That's great? Great?
<v Speaker 3>Eight is great?
<v Speaker 2>No, I would say great. Personally, I would say great,
<v Speaker 2>but I'm not gonna poo.
<v Speaker 1>Poo someone to the reviews or what five is? Like
<v Speaker 1>mid mideocres? Six is okay? Seven is good? What is six? Okay?
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, you got it?
<v Speaker 1>Seven is what is good? Eight is great, nine is
<v Speaker 1>excellent and is a masterpiece amazing, and ten is what masterpiece? Yes?
<v Speaker 3>So not perfect? A lot of people think ten means perfect.
<v Speaker 3>It doesn't matter.
<v Speaker 2>So what would a switch to have to be for
<v Speaker 2>you to give it masterpiece?
<v Speaker 1>Damn, I don't know.
<v Speaker 3>I've never reviewed a console. I've never assigned a number
<v Speaker 3>to a console in a formulae like that.
<v Speaker 2>I thought it was weird that you didn't do the
<v Speaker 2>review for that one because you're a Nintendo guy there, right.
<v Speaker 3>Not necessarily like we didn't necessarily have those like defined roles.
<v Speaker 3>Anyone can like review a Nintendo game. My host the
<v Speaker 3>Nintendo Podcast, I review a lot of the major Nintendo games,
<v Speaker 3>but it's not like my defined job to review everything Nintendo.
<v Speaker 3>But I did do Mario Kart World at the same time,
<v Speaker 3>so Tom was working on the console review while I
<v Speaker 3>reviewed Mario Kart World.
<v Speaker 1>What did you give Marica World eight? Great? Okay, I
<v Speaker 1>would agree with that. I agree with it. I agree
<v Speaker 1>with that. Actually, yeah, you're so.
<v Speaker 2>You're so smart and wise and beautiful.
<v Speaker 3>Thanks. Yeah, this is a great platform for getting the
<v Speaker 3>good ign review scale word out to the public.
<v Speaker 1>I love this.
<v Speaker 2>I mean I I when I create content and when
<v Speaker 2>I approach conversations online, even like controversial ones, I always
<v Speaker 2>feel like I try and be really unbiased, and I
<v Speaker 2>try and actually like break things down and maybe make
<v Speaker 2>people realize where they're kind of falling. For a lot
<v Speaker 2>of the online hysteria that gets, you know, spun up
<v Speaker 2>into knots and uh yeah.
<v Speaker 1>So I'm trying to cut through it.
<v Speaker 2>And I think here where it got spun out was
<v Speaker 2>there was people could you know you compare it to
<v Speaker 2>other things. And I think where it got spun out
<v Speaker 2>is that IGN also gave the PlayStation Portal an eight,
<v Speaker 2>and that was that was a sticking point for a
<v Speaker 2>lot of people because that honestly doesn't make sense on
<v Speaker 2>paper to me, I even unbiasedly that that the switch
<v Speaker 2>to could be a seven and the Portal could be
<v Speaker 2>an eight. I don't really get that, But that would
<v Speaker 2>be like if I was if I was the one
<v Speaker 2>reviewing it, not so much because Tom Marks didn't do
<v Speaker 2>the I don't know who did the portal review, but
<v Speaker 2>that was someone else. Yeah, So it's just different people
<v Speaker 2>in different opinions, which again, that's where I would break
<v Speaker 2>that down. I'd be like, well, whoever did the portal
<v Speaker 2>review must have obviously really liked it and thought it
<v Speaker 2>was great.
<v Speaker 1>What what would you give the portal I've never used it.
<v Speaker 1>I couldn't tell you that's a safe answer if you
<v Speaker 1>had to guess.
<v Speaker 3>I'm not gonna do that.
<v Speaker 2>Nothing official on the record.
<v Speaker 1>No, Yeah, I used That's fine. I know, I know.
<v Speaker 1>I'm playing with you.
<v Speaker 4>No.
<v Speaker 2>I think a lot of people just took took that
<v Speaker 2>weirdly because the portal just isn't It doesn't really work
<v Speaker 2>that well for a lot of people. It doesn't work
<v Speaker 2>in general. It's really sketchy. It's also it's a streaming device.
<v Speaker 2>It's something that like you know you have. On one hand,
<v Speaker 2>ig In in this review is like it's a long
<v Speaker 2>overdue phone upgrade. You're kind of like almost belittling it
<v Speaker 2>in a way, not really because they're right, but you
<v Speaker 2>know what I mean. Whereas with the portal, which is
<v Speaker 2>literally just something you need a PlayStation five to work with,
<v Speaker 2>they're like, this is great, it's an eight, and I think.
<v Speaker 3>It's an accessory. The portal is like an accessory to
<v Speaker 3>something else, and the switch is a dedicated console. It's
<v Speaker 3>different expectations for restrings my opinion.
<v Speaker 1>That's true. No, and yeah, that's true.
<v Speaker 2>And I'm just explaining where I think the the Yeah,
<v Speaker 2>the sticking point on people getting upset with the seven
<v Speaker 2>out of ten came from just the the optics of that.
<v Speaker 2>But I do agree with you. I agree with you.
<v Speaker 2>We're best friends, brother.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah it is. I'm not trying to You're Luigi just
<v Speaker 3>following right behind us in the charts.
<v Speaker 1>I'm Mario.
<v Speaker 2>I love that. I'm Luigi. That's he's my favorite. Yeah, great,
<v Speaker 2>you do feel like a Mario.
<v Speaker 3>I play is Mario because I'm basic and boring so well,
<v Speaker 3>like Mario Kart World Mario's How total are you?
<v Speaker 1>I'm too tall? I'm six two, so I can't really
<v Speaker 1>be Mario. Oh that's that sucks. You're so tall? Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>what the hell? Look, nobody knows.
<v Speaker 3>That's what I always get in. Yeah, how tell are you?
<v Speaker 2>I'm six one? Yeah, you're tolder than me. That's why
<v Speaker 2>I'm like, you kind of have to be Luigi.
<v Speaker 3>Now, okay, Yeah, but I think he's more than I
<v Speaker 3>think that's closer to like, while Luigi.
<v Speaker 1>He is, I don't, I don't know.
<v Speaker 2>Definitely, yeah, definitely total than everybody else. How high can
<v Speaker 2>you jump?
<v Speaker 1>Not that high? I can jump.
<v Speaker 2>I can jump pretty high. Well, Luigi can jump high.
<v Speaker 2>I used to get a ghost.
<v Speaker 3>No but if I if I had a vacuum, I'm
<v Speaker 3>sure I could suck a bunch of them.
<v Speaker 2>That's where I was going with, do you ask me
<v Speaker 2>if I could dunk?
<v Speaker 3>I did ask you if you could?
<v Speaker 2>Uh, well, what's the relevance of that other than the
<v Speaker 2>basketball Mario game?
<v Speaker 3>You said you could jump high, So I'm wondering if
<v Speaker 3>you couldn't anything up.
<v Speaker 2>I just want to know, No, I can't if the
<v Speaker 2>hoop's low enough. If I have an Apple box to
<v Speaker 2>jump off of.
<v Speaker 1>All right, we I am, I'll be, I'll be. I'll
<v Speaker 1>be Luigia, I like Luigi. Do you want to?
<v Speaker 3>I feel like before we move on, please you should
<v Speaker 3>go watch you go watch the review, because I'm not
<v Speaker 3>Tom Marks. I didn't score it. He has way more
<v Speaker 3>thoughts on this. And we also started doing this new
<v Speaker 3>thing at the end of our IG interviews where we
<v Speaker 3>do kind of one on one interviews like this with
<v Speaker 3>the person that reviewed the thing, so you can put
<v Speaker 3>a face to the name like in our reviews. Because
<v Speaker 3>that's like we introduced that I think earlier this year
<v Speaker 3>because everyone just kind of thought IGN was this disembodied
<v Speaker 3>voice like you're saying, and so I think that we learned,
<v Speaker 3>Like talking to you about my Brothership review, a lot
<v Speaker 3>of people in the comments were like, oh, this dude
<v Speaker 3>does like Nintendo. He's not a total hater, and so
<v Speaker 3>like we've kind of taken some of that idea and
<v Speaker 3>ran with it. It's been in the works for a
<v Speaker 3>long time to add these like post review interviews in
<v Speaker 3>our video reviews on YouTube, so you can get to
<v Speaker 3>know the reviewer a little bit more afterwards too.
<v Speaker 1>I like that. Yeah, that's a great idea.
<v Speaker 2>I'm definitely an advocate of that when it comes to
<v Speaker 2>when it comes to any major article that has several
<v Speaker 2>different reviewers working for them, but specifically with ign and
<v Speaker 2>just because you're my boy now and I don't like, don't.
<v Speaker 2>I don't want people to I don't. I'm hated to
<v Speaker 2>defend you.
<v Speaker 3>Well, thank you would I appreciate it.
<v Speaker 1>No, I don't know what I was saying.
<v Speaker 2>No, I agree, and I yeah, definitely go and actually
<v Speaker 2>watch the review and listen to the review. And yeah,
<v Speaker 2>not every reviewer at ign A is a conglomeration of
<v Speaker 2>the same person.
<v Speaker 1>That's a word, right, Yeah, Well it's not all the same,
<v Speaker 1>all different individuals reading stuff. It's what they're trying to.
<v Speaker 2>Convey logan you you're smart and wise. Should we talk
<v Speaker 2>about Nintendo getting sued or Nintendo raising the prices of
<v Speaker 2>the switch? What do you want to talk about first?
<v Speaker 3>Will both sound a lot worse than I think they
<v Speaker 3>actually are, So why don't we start with the last two?
<v Speaker 2>Well, you got to make it all as click click
<v Speaker 2>bag as possible. You know, have you had a chance
<v Speaker 2>to talk about any of these on your podcast yet?
<v Speaker 1>Not these two?
<v Speaker 2>No? H So here's Nintendo is getting a taste of
<v Speaker 2>their own medicine with a switch to lawsuit, which is
<v Speaker 2>a very bitchy title, I guess more than any proof.
<v Speaker 2>So I actually have my personal trainer is from Brazil
<v Speaker 2>and he actually sent me this and he was like,
<v Speaker 2>he sent it in Brazilian. Really if that's even the
<v Speaker 2>language Portugal Portuguese, thank you Brazilian, Brazilian, that's a Brazilian wax.
<v Speaker 2>I think No, I think I think it is Portuguese. Actually,
<v Speaker 2>I think he did actually message me and he was like,
<v Speaker 2>you'll have to translate this from Portuguese. Let me see,
<v Speaker 2>let me see. Actually, yeah it's in Portuguese. But yeah,
<v Speaker 2>Brazil is sewing Nintendo like the the country is suing nintender.
<v Speaker 1>And bingle.
<v Speaker 2>You said it, I'm gonna try and find that the
<v Speaker 2>sweet spot in this article. But you were saying it's
<v Speaker 2>because of the the.
<v Speaker 1>The them basically, uh, Nintendo being able to lock you
<v Speaker 1>out of its online services. Uh. The someone in I
<v Speaker 1>guess Portugal said that just it goes against consumer rights
<v Speaker 1>and they're fighting against that. I can get you the
<v Speaker 1>name of it, so it says here ProCon sp.
<v Speaker 2>I don't know who that is. We can see skipt it.
<v Speaker 2>What is that I don't know believes that Nintendo is
<v Speaker 2>violating consumer protection rules by canceling subscriptions and denying access
<v Speaker 2>to online services, including the E Shop. While Nintendo has
<v Speaker 2>stated that the breaking of a console is only done
<v Speaker 2>if someone uses piative software, the ability to do this
<v Speaker 2>to customers who already paid for the switch to and
<v Speaker 2>as services is not sitting right with representatives in Brazil.
<v Speaker 2>Nintendo has no legal presence in Brazil, so ProCon sp
<v Speaker 2>had to contact the company's US headquarters to discuss the matter.
<v Speaker 2>In response, Sintendai appointed a law firm to deal with
<v Speaker 2>the case, which includes a change in Nintendo's bricking policies
<v Speaker 2>and even appointing a representative in Brazil. Nintendo now has
<v Speaker 2>twenty days to respond to pro con SP's request.
<v Speaker 1>Let me quickly look up. Uh they are Consumer protection Foundations.
<v Speaker 1>Oh sow polo. I'm probably butchering that. Basically, they enforced
<v Speaker 1>consumer a federal law that guarantees strong consumer rights for Brazilians.
<v Speaker 2>Logan, what is your take on all of that?
<v Speaker 1>I want to know.
<v Speaker 3>It takes, honestly kind of boring. I feel like, I
<v Speaker 3>don't know, people are freaking out so much about this
<v Speaker 3>whole switch getting brick thing if you break the license agreement,
<v Speaker 3>and it's so in line with just what Nintendo does.
<v Speaker 3>They want you to experience their products and their games
<v Speaker 3>exactly how they want. So what this is like if
<v Speaker 3>you hack your switch, they're gonna brick it. So I
<v Speaker 3>guess just don't hack the switch. I've never done it.
<v Speaker 1>I don't know.
<v Speaker 3>Maybe another ory person ask about this, because this doesn't
<v Speaker 3>bother me at all. I'm not sure if there's a
<v Speaker 3>case here. I don't know enough about it to know
<v Speaker 3>if this is going to lead to Nintendo changing anything.
<v Speaker 3>But I think people have really made a mountain out
<v Speaker 3>of the mole hill with the whole switch bricking thing.
<v Speaker 3>I was it best by the other day and playing
<v Speaker 3>the Donkey Kong Binhansa demo on the switch to demo
<v Speaker 3>Kiasa that they have there, and I talked to the
<v Speaker 3>checkout person and he's like, did you get a switch too?
<v Speaker 3>And I said, yeah, did you? And he said no.
<v Speaker 3>I just can't get past the idea that I don't
<v Speaker 3>actually own my switch to and Nintendo's leasing it to me.
<v Speaker 3>I'm like, okay, well, you're gonna miss miss out on
<v Speaker 3>some amazing Nintendo games over the next eight years. So
<v Speaker 3>I don't know. This stuff doesn't bug me at all.
<v Speaker 3>But I've never been one to tinker and break and
<v Speaker 3>break and have Nintendo consoles.
<v Speaker 1>And also Nintendo's not the only one who does this,
<v Speaker 1>like Sony and X and Microsoft have the ability to
<v Speaker 1>break consoles. They've done it in the past. But and
<v Speaker 1>it's not really technically a brick. It's an online uh,
<v Speaker 1>like they just deny you access to online from that
<v Speaker 1>particular console.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, yeah.
<v Speaker 1>Uh.
<v Speaker 2>The the not owning the console thing is bizarre to me,
<v Speaker 2>But I know it's not exclusive to Nintendo, but it's
<v Speaker 2>to the person who you met who said they weren't
<v Speaker 2>going to buy it for that reason. I don't know
<v Speaker 2>if they're aware, but literally every video game they buy
<v Speaker 2>is the same, Like every video game comes with a
<v Speaker 2>ula or whatever that you're essentially waving off your rights
<v Speaker 2>to actually owning the game, Like you don't own anything.
<v Speaker 2>You just you're licensing to play it. Because if you
<v Speaker 2>owned it, then you could do whatever you wanted to it.
<v Speaker 2>You could sell it, you could mass produce it, you
<v Speaker 2>know what I mean, you could like change it.
<v Speaker 1>You don't.
<v Speaker 2>You can't do that because it's not yours. That's why
<v Speaker 2>when you buy a game, you're buying a license to
<v Speaker 2>the game. You're not buying like stocks in the game.
<v Speaker 1>Also, the same thing happened with the WIU when you
<v Speaker 1>hacked hacked it or the switch one like so many people. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>this is nothing new.
<v Speaker 2>I mean, it's it's a new concept to me.
<v Speaker 3>M oh I was gonna say, I do think like
<v Speaker 3>the one issue that could come from this is if
<v Speaker 3>someone hacks their switch Nintendo bricks it, and then they
<v Speaker 3>like sell it used on eBay or something, and then
<v Speaker 3>somebody buys like happening. Yeah, yeah, so that is an
<v Speaker 3>issue from this. I don't know what the workaround is
<v Speaker 3>there because that's not fair for that new user who
<v Speaker 3>essentially got scammed by somebody. So that seems like a
<v Speaker 3>fringe case, but it is happening, which totally sucks.
<v Speaker 2>I feel like the the switch to needs to unboot up,
<v Speaker 2>be alive, this switch to his bricks, like it needs
<v Speaker 2>to say something on like startup, because that's what's tricking,
<v Speaker 2>Like Walmart is they turn it on and the like
<v Speaker 2>put a game in or whatever, or they mess around
<v Speaker 2>with it, like, oh it works because you kind of
<v Speaker 2>have to go to the e shop you have to
<v Speaker 2>go online. But if something on boot up was like
<v Speaker 2>this like an error code or something like this can't
<v Speaker 2>go online and then it boots up, that would help.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah.
<v Speaker 2>I was gonna say, it is news news to me
<v Speaker 2>that I don't own the console, that I'm licensing the
<v Speaker 2>console too, Like apparently that isn't something that's new in general,
<v Speaker 2>but it's the first I'm hearing about it because I
<v Speaker 2>always thought, like, when it comes to hardware, you do
<v Speaker 2>kind of own it. But I guess, yeah, I guess
<v Speaker 2>if you owned it, it'd be the same thing. Then
<v Speaker 2>you would be allowed to modit, you would be allowed
<v Speaker 2>to recreate it and resell it. So you are licensing
<v Speaker 2>a console. I mean, it's probably always been that way.
<v Speaker 1>It's also like very similar with like that. Johnt remember
<v Speaker 1>the John Deere suit. I don't know if you ever
<v Speaker 1>heard of it? Practice the tractors, no, tell me about it,
<v Speaker 1>fay Well, people weren't able to repair it. They John
<v Speaker 1>Deere wouldn't allow people to repair it stated they didn't
<v Speaker 1>really own it. I think they might have lost that lawsuit.
<v Speaker 1>I'm not sure, but there was a whole big thing
<v Speaker 1>around it. So they had to like send it back
<v Speaker 1>in or something. Yeah, you have to give it back
<v Speaker 1>to John Deere. Well, I don't know about that now.
<v Speaker 2>But before that's interesting, what about other tractors?
<v Speaker 1>Was it only John die?
<v Speaker 2>So if you guys John Deere, what happens with when
<v Speaker 2>you buy a car. You're not licensing a car. You
<v Speaker 2>own the car, right.
<v Speaker 1>I think, I don't know.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, you own the car. Yeah, you can do whatever
<v Speaker 3>you want to the car.
<v Speaker 2>That's interesting because the car is like.
<v Speaker 3>Now, I don't know, eventually when cars gets to electric
<v Speaker 3>and they'll be like, oh, sorry, you went over the
<v Speaker 3>speed that we're.
<v Speaker 2>Gonna or they tried to try like a Tesla own
<v Speaker 2>you own a Tesla. When you buy a Tesla, I
<v Speaker 2>guess so, because that's like fifty grand and then Nintendo
<v Speaker 2>will like this five hundred the console you don't own.
<v Speaker 1>This tell me any dealer or mechanic that'll touch a
<v Speaker 1>Tesla to repair it, I have not met.
<v Speaker 2>You have to be a license you have to be
<v Speaker 2>like I guess the issue is I'm thinking out loud logan.
<v Speaker 2>I guess the issue is with a console, you then
<v Speaker 2>turn around you buy software, so if you mud, you
<v Speaker 2>can then get all the software for you.
<v Speaker 1>You buy a car.
<v Speaker 2>It's not like they're gonna It's not like Hunter is
<v Speaker 2>selling you anything.
<v Speaker 1>It's an electric car. Yeah, possibly, I mean, I don't know.
<v Speaker 1>Does Tesla have like locked features behind certain I mean
<v Speaker 1>maybe like it would be illegal to like, I don't know.
<v Speaker 1>I don't know.
<v Speaker 2>Is there like there's games on a Taesla, But I
<v Speaker 2>don't see a way of.
<v Speaker 1>You getting Can I change my my horn and download
<v Speaker 1>different horns from their shop? Don't But they don't.
<v Speaker 2>They're not selling horns, they're not selling extra games. So
<v Speaker 2>I don't think that. Yeah, I think it's different. I
<v Speaker 2>don't care. This is a weird thought experiment. I don't
<v Speaker 2>know what we're talking about.
<v Speaker 1>I I personally like I I think, like when it
<v Speaker 1>comes to hardware, I think if you buy the hardware,
<v Speaker 1>you should be able to you know, kind of you
<v Speaker 1>own it, whatever it is. But if you're breaking like
<v Speaker 1>the piece of hardware, like to get into the hardware
<v Speaker 1>and just basically circumvent all the stuff that they have,
<v Speaker 1>like all the protections or whatever, just so that you
<v Speaker 1>can upload, Like, yeah, I think they deserve or preserve
<v Speaker 1>that right to you know, pull access, because in a way,
<v Speaker 1>they're not really breaking it, they're just getting rid of
<v Speaker 1>your online.
<v Speaker 2>I guess I'll say for Logan because I know my
<v Speaker 2>thoughts are pretty clear on the podcast, but I probably
<v Speaker 2>should say it to you so that you know I
<v Speaker 2>agree with what you said earlier. The only reason to
<v Speaker 2>hack this thing or to mod this thing is to
<v Speaker 2>get games for free.
<v Speaker 1>Is for piracy.
<v Speaker 2>So of course it's in Nintendo's best interests to lock
<v Speaker 2>all of that down. And sometimes when I say that,
<v Speaker 2>people are like, oh, you're defending the million dollar company.
<v Speaker 2>It's just it's any company, just anyone ever, any individual
<v Speaker 2>person would want to do the same thing, right, Like
<v Speaker 2>if they're trying to sell you something. They don't want
<v Speaker 2>you to get that something for free. It's really yeah,
<v Speaker 2>just how.
<v Speaker 3>It is, Ye do exists in this walled garden, and
<v Speaker 3>that comes with pros and cons, and the pros or
<v Speaker 3>that they make great games, like specifically for their hardware,
<v Speaker 3>but then the cons are you're gonna play it the
<v Speaker 3>way they want it to, kind of like the Mario
<v Speaker 3>cart update. I think we're going to talk about it
<v Speaker 3>a little bit like that's just that's always what goes
<v Speaker 3>with them.
<v Speaker 2>I mean we may as well doctail into that. I
<v Speaker 2>think we exhausted that. We could probably finish it by
<v Speaker 2>just saying I agree with you. I'm not sure where
<v Speaker 2>that goes. I mean different countries laws are different, but
<v Speaker 2>I can't imagine that really going anyway here in America
<v Speaker 2>with someone suing for that. So I can't imagine Brazil
<v Speaker 2>is any different unless they have any like pre existing
<v Speaker 2>cases or anything they can pull from in the past
<v Speaker 2>that has happened in the country in this way. But
<v Speaker 2>I can't imagine that there is.
<v Speaker 3>Sometimes and will not lose this too.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, I'm gonna guess that too.
<v Speaker 2>But sometimes when there's a similar case that has set
<v Speaker 2>a precedent, if they can use that in the case,
<v Speaker 2>it gives you a leg up where otherwise you wouldn't
<v Speaker 2>normally have. But I can't imagine what a similar case
<v Speaker 2>would be in this In this case, all right, we're
<v Speaker 2>going to docktail into what Logan mentioned here Mario cut World,
<v Speaker 2>I hate sorry, Mario Cutt World's hated change shows Nintendo
<v Speaker 2>still doesn't get online games. This is from Polygon. I
<v Speaker 2>agree with that title one hundred percent. I've been thinking
<v Speaker 2>about making a video about Nintendo's online infrastructure in their
<v Speaker 2>video games and just how much it sucks. Like every
<v Speaker 2>single online game that they have, they mess it up
<v Speaker 2>in some way, usually a major way where you just
<v Speaker 2>essentially just can't play games online with your friends. Seems
<v Speaker 2>to be the reoccurring issue, and they just did a
<v Speaker 2>really weird update to Mario cutt World that if you're
<v Speaker 2>not playing it or you don't understand it, it does
<v Speaker 2>take a little bit of explaining. I actually I was
<v Speaker 2>watching my friend Bob's podcast last night and he didn't
<v Speaker 2>quite get it, and I had to call him after
<v Speaker 2>the podcast and it took ten minutes to break down
<v Speaker 2>what actually had happened. Logan, do you mind if I
<v Speaker 2>explain it here real quick and just rant for like
<v Speaker 2>two minutes for ye all right, so and correct me
<v Speaker 2>if I'm wrong here being on any of this. But
<v Speaker 2>essentially with Mario cart World, right up until this recent update,
<v Speaker 2>there was really two modes that people were playing online.
<v Speaker 2>Because we're not going to count the Battle mode because
<v Speaker 2>no one really did that.
<v Speaker 1>It was Knockout Knockout.
<v Speaker 2>And it's not even Grand Prix Versus because already off
<v Speaker 2>the rip, Nintendo didn't give you Grand Prix online for
<v Speaker 2>who knows what reason you could.
<v Speaker 3>They never have, they never have.
<v Speaker 1>That's not new really. Yeah, and eight the Lux you
<v Speaker 1>just picked four courses and then you get you get
<v Speaker 1>a score at the end of the roads, so silly.
<v Speaker 2>Well, yeah, so you had knockout privately though you had
<v Speaker 2>knockout to it, and then you had the Versus mode,
<v Speaker 2>so knockout to it. Let me explain knockout to it
<v Speaker 2>because I think it's important here for reference. Knockout to
<v Speaker 2>It has you racing to five or six different courses
<v Speaker 2>in one shot, trying not to get knocked out along
<v Speaker 2>the way. When you get to the course, you rate
<v Speaker 2>the course right or do you kind of just go through?
<v Speaker 1>Yeah? At the very end of.
<v Speaker 3>The last lap. Yeah, the final section of.
<v Speaker 2>So you do a final one at the end one
<v Speaker 2>lap of the last one, then versus mode. Up until now,
<v Speaker 2>it was you would go to start a new map,
<v Speaker 2>it would give you a selection of three maps. If
<v Speaker 2>you picked one of those three, you would race to it,
<v Speaker 2>and then you would do one lap on it, right, Yeah,
<v Speaker 2>which is essentially just a mini knockout mode at that point,
<v Speaker 2>and you're not really getting the three laps. So what
<v Speaker 2>people would do as a workaround once they realized they
<v Speaker 2>weren't getting full three laps online, which is the Mario
<v Speaker 2>Kart experience really, I mean, you want the three laps,
<v Speaker 2>you want to hit that final lap, you want to
<v Speaker 2>get faster every lap, you want the strategy of like laps.
<v Speaker 1>Right.
<v Speaker 2>What they would do as a workaround is they would
<v Speaker 2>hit the random button. Because the random button would pick
<v Speaker 2>a random map in the world, and because it's not
<v Speaker 2>close enough to race too, you would just teleport there
<v Speaker 2>and do three laps.
<v Speaker 1>So it was the workaround. Yeah.
<v Speaker 2>So up until a few days ago, if you were
<v Speaker 2>to play online, everybody was doing random yeah, because everyone
<v Speaker 2>wanted three laps. Nintendo, for whatever reason said oh you
<v Speaker 2>found a workaround. Okay, so now this random button is
<v Speaker 2>just going to select from the three close by that
<v Speaker 2>you have to choose from anyway, right.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, it only randomized those three maps.
<v Speaker 2>It only randomized those three maps, essentially removing the ability
<v Speaker 2>of doing three lap races online and just giving you
<v Speaker 2>the mini knockout mode and just minimizing the options you
<v Speaker 2>have to play games online in Mario cut yep, is
<v Speaker 2>that right?
<v Speaker 1>Logo? Did I get that right? Yeah?
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, I still think that there are those Random still
<v Speaker 3>has three laps in there, but it's just much lower
<v Speaker 3>odds now because they've thrown in all the intermissions. So like,
<v Speaker 3>if you take all the intermissions that exist in Mario
<v Speaker 3>Kart World, it's like over one hundred. But then there's
<v Speaker 3>only thirty tracks that are traditional three laps, So if
<v Speaker 3>you're hitting random, the odds of getting just traditional course
<v Speaker 3>are significantly lower.
<v Speaker 2>Have you tried playing online after this new update? Has
<v Speaker 2>it affected your experience?
<v Speaker 1>Yeah? It sucks up.
<v Speaker 2>It sucks because it's just it's the same, it's more
<v Speaker 2>of the same, and it's a less it's less option.
<v Speaker 1>Well that and like you're not getting ranked anymore, and
<v Speaker 1>I'm mostly I'm I'm not playing ranked world versus and
<v Speaker 1>getting the points up. I'm just playing with like my
<v Speaker 1>friends list now or or on a stream.
<v Speaker 2>Well, when you when you play with a friends list,
<v Speaker 2>you can force a three lap.
<v Speaker 1>Right, Yes, you can go for whatever you want. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>it doesn't make any sense.
<v Speaker 2>It already sucked that the that the workaround to even
<v Speaker 2>hitting a three lap was hitting a random button that
<v Speaker 2>was already done, That was already something worth complaining about.
<v Speaker 2>What what do you think the mentality is on Nintendo's
<v Speaker 2>side to patch that out? Like, I guess they just
<v Speaker 2>really love the racing to the course thing they want
<v Speaker 2>people to experience pretty much that.
<v Speaker 3>The mentality is we spent eight years turning Mario Kart
<v Speaker 3>into an open world, and after less than a month
<v Speaker 3>people are already sick of that and just want to
<v Speaker 3>do the three lap courses. And he say, I don't
<v Speaker 3>think so, buddy, Like, no, we're turning that off, Like
<v Speaker 3>that's basically what this is.
<v Speaker 2>It's not sick of it though, it's the variety of you.
<v Speaker 2>You have that in Knockout, like we when we want
<v Speaker 2>to race through the world, we do Knockout, and when
<v Speaker 2>we want to do a three lap race, which is
<v Speaker 2>Mario Kart and what we grew up with. If we
<v Speaker 2>don't want to do it offline, we want to do
<v Speaker 2>it with our friends. And that was the option.
<v Speaker 1>It wasn't really even an option, like I said, it
<v Speaker 1>was a workaround. I also feel like I can't get
<v Speaker 1>enough practice or like even experience the course right, Like
<v Speaker 1>if I don't get my three lapses.
<v Speaker 2>It's over so quickly when you get to the court.
<v Speaker 2>It's like that you actually aren't doing the courses online.
<v Speaker 2>You're mostly racing the highway and doing one little lap
<v Speaker 2>of especially when you race to uh. I don't know
<v Speaker 2>what the new baby pop one is. It's like the
<v Speaker 2>really short beach one that you can each be whatever
<v Speaker 2>what was it logan.
<v Speaker 3>It's scoop a troop of beach the one.
<v Speaker 2>So when you do that one, by the time you
<v Speaker 2>actually get to the course, you then just in seconds
<v Speaker 2>yes stupid.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah. Now, I think that's something that would fix it
<v Speaker 3>for a lot of people, is if we could just
<v Speaker 3>get there and then do three laps, then maybe a
<v Speaker 3>Nintendo that's too long for an online race and you
<v Speaker 3>want to get more people in the lobby fast over
<v Speaker 3>to have quicker turnover time, but no, this decision stinks,
<v Speaker 3>and hopefully they're going to patch in like a classic
<v Speaker 3>mode or something at some point where you can do
<v Speaker 3>the intermission mode like they have it right now and
<v Speaker 3>versus race, or you can do Classic versus Race in
<v Speaker 3>public lobbies where you just do three laps, but I
<v Speaker 3>don't see them doing that. The online just feels really
<v Speaker 3>bare bones in general in Mario Kart World. It's just
<v Speaker 3>really disappointingly. You guys know that, like in Knockout Tour
<v Speaker 3>in public lobbies, if you can't join off your friend
<v Speaker 3>and join a public Knockout Tour, well, I also talk
<v Speaker 3>about that.
<v Speaker 1>That's how we have to play. Sometimes I gotta like
<v Speaker 1>try to join in on you. It's annoying.
<v Speaker 2>And I don't know if you know this, Bengal, but
<v Speaker 2>you can't do it with knockout to it why I know?
<v Speaker 2>So Kim and I discovered this. So my wife, Kim
<v Speaker 2>has been obsessed with Mario cutt. She loves it, and
<v Speaker 2>we got to the point where she's like getting better
<v Speaker 2>now and she wanted to erase people online. And the
<v Speaker 2>only way to actually get online with your friend and
<v Speaker 2>embrace other people was that I would join a versus
<v Speaker 2>lobby and then once I was in, Kim could join
<v Speaker 2>on me, which, to be fair to Nintendo, at least
<v Speaker 2>that's a way because in other games, I can't think
<v Speaker 2>of any offhand, but you can't even like in a
<v Speaker 2>Nintendo Switch Sports, if you want to bowl online with
<v Speaker 2>your friend, you literally can't buddy up with a friend
<v Speaker 2>and go play other bowlers online.
<v Speaker 1>You have to do NPCs.
<v Speaker 2>So at least this is a workaround where one you
<v Speaker 2>can search get into a game, the other person can join. Well,
<v Speaker 2>Kim was like, well, can we do knockout to it now?
<v Speaker 2>And every single time I joined a Knockout to a lobby,
<v Speaker 2>she couldn't join on me, And then I was like,
<v Speaker 2>what's going on? So then she tried it and I
<v Speaker 2>couldn't join on her, and I was like, what is
<v Speaker 2>this weird glitch? We're heavy When we were setting us switches,
<v Speaker 2>we were doing everything.
<v Speaker 1>And then it doesn't work.
<v Speaker 2>And then I googled it and there was a whole
<v Speaker 2>reddit thread from launch. You just can't do it. It just
<v Speaker 2>doesn't work. It just locks you out for some reason.
<v Speaker 1>That sucks, man, which is.
<v Speaker 3>Weird because like you can do it locally with two people,
<v Speaker 3>like you have two people on the same switch to
<v Speaker 3>you can pick online play two players, and then you
<v Speaker 3>can do a knockout tour together. And I've been doing
<v Speaker 3>that with my fiance a lot, and we've been doing
<v Speaker 3>that like every night since Mario kar World came out.
<v Speaker 1>It's super fun.
<v Speaker 3>But I can't do it with my friend across the
<v Speaker 3>country and join off of them.
<v Speaker 1>It just is not a choice. I know. The only
<v Speaker 1>way to do it online like with a friend too,
<v Speaker 1>it would just be create a room. That's it.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, but then it would be NPC's it would be
<v Speaker 2>still the rest of the slots, Yeah, you just or
<v Speaker 2>have to hold. And this is literally this is the
<v Speaker 2>conversation we have every Nintendo online game. It's you can
<v Speaker 2>do this, or you can do that, or you can
<v Speaker 2>do this, this or that. But none of them are
<v Speaker 2>going to give you exactly what you want, which is
<v Speaker 2>just playing online with my friends.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah. Yeah.
<v Speaker 3>Which it's a shame because I think there's one big
<v Speaker 3>exception to that, and I think that exception is Splatoon three,
<v Speaker 3>which finally got everything right for the first time in
<v Speaker 3>that series. But that game lets you join a friend
<v Speaker 3>and then match make. It's the only Nintendo game that
<v Speaker 3>does that. Nothing else.
<v Speaker 1>It's always joining off.
<v Speaker 3>With the weird Venu. It's like, Okay, can't they just
<v Speaker 3>take that lesson from Splatoon and glue it onto Mario
<v Speaker 3>Kart World?
<v Speaker 1>But no, apparently not.
<v Speaker 2>Is that is that a different team that makes Splatoon
<v Speaker 2>or something?
<v Speaker 1>It is there?
<v Speaker 2>You go, well, then, yeah, why can't they just take
<v Speaker 2>that model? And it's so many other things with Mario
<v Speaker 2>cott World too, Like Kim loves doing the open world
<v Speaker 2>and she more than anything wants to do co op
<v Speaker 2>open world with me. But as soon as you do that,
<v Speaker 2>it gets rid of all the piece witches, which makes
<v Speaker 2>the world empty.
<v Speaker 1>Which is arguably the best part. It's the best part.
<v Speaker 2>Like you can do you can find the little like
<v Speaker 2>collectible coins and the and the patches or whatever, but
<v Speaker 2>you can't do the piece witches together.
<v Speaker 1>I think it's I think they did it for it
<v Speaker 1>because during intermission during verse, right, yeah, versus intermissions or
<v Speaker 1>I'm not sure about knockout intermissions, but online, like what
<v Speaker 1>if you're in intermission doing a peace switch and also you.
<v Speaker 2>Get ripped, but you should be able to just join
<v Speaker 2>an online world with someone and that's it, Like you're
<v Speaker 2>not in some like.
<v Speaker 1>Mabby, That's what I was hoping for, Like yeah, or
<v Speaker 1>even when you create your own room, who cares it's
<v Speaker 1>your room? You dictate what happened.
<v Speaker 2>Exactly and logan I was talking about this before as well,
<v Speaker 2>but I had this vision before the game came out,
<v Speaker 2>once I learned like what the game was about, where
<v Speaker 2>like in the open world, you could have like all
<v Speaker 2>these different races and they were all online at the
<v Speaker 2>same time, and like maybe you don't like join up
<v Speaker 2>on them, but they just kind of like enter your world,
<v Speaker 2>even if they were like ghost races or whatever, and
<v Speaker 2>you could see them like in your world and you're
<v Speaker 2>like doing your your missions and your peace switches. Maybe
<v Speaker 2>you can like partner up with one and like trigger
<v Speaker 2>a race and be like, oh, do you want to
<v Speaker 2>erase me over to Peach Beach? And then like you
<v Speaker 2>can like do like a waypoint marker and you could
<v Speaker 2>race over that kind of like uh forts the horizon. Yeah,
<v Speaker 2>in that way, I thought that would have been so sick,
<v Speaker 2>but nope, you can even go online with your friends.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah.
<v Speaker 3>I think you're starting to see like a window into
<v Speaker 3>how hard it was for me to review this game
<v Speaker 3>for IGN. Because I love the game so much. I
<v Speaker 3>think it controlled so well, and the tracks are so great,
<v Speaker 3>and it looks amazing, and there's there's so much that's
<v Speaker 3>great about it. But then there's like fifteen little nitpicks
<v Speaker 3>that just really bring the whole thing down. Like it's
<v Speaker 3>a weird one. It's like I kind of thought that
<v Speaker 3>Mario Kart World was going to be this live servicey thing,
<v Speaker 3>and I use that term in a good way, like
<v Speaker 3>I thought nice support the game, really online focused in
<v Speaker 3>a really smart, fresh way. But no, instead it's like
<v Speaker 3>classically Nintendo like two steps forward, one step back. It's
<v Speaker 3>it's a weird one.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, I agree with you one hundred percent, and it
<v Speaker 2>goes even I'm going this is the last thing I'm
<v Speaker 2>going to say, and I'm going to look at this
<v Speaker 2>switch pricing update, but it goes more, even more for
<v Speaker 2>me into the eighty dollars of it all, because it's like,
<v Speaker 2>where is that eighty dollars and why are we paying
<v Speaker 2>eighty and then getting locked out of all these features
<v Speaker 2>and you're removing things you'll take literally with this new update,
<v Speaker 2>taking things away from the game, when when you've charged
<v Speaker 2>us so much for it, we should have every option
<v Speaker 2>in the world. We shouldn't be limited at all in
<v Speaker 2>my opinion.
<v Speaker 3>But yeah, and like, what weird thing about that though,
<v Speaker 3>is that everyone keeps calling it an eighty dollar game,
<v Speaker 3>which it is. It retails for eighty separately. But did
<v Speaker 3>you see the stat that said that eighty percent of
<v Speaker 3>switch to sold have been the bundle, So for eighty
<v Speaker 3>percent of Switch Too owners, yer cart was fifty dollars. Like,
<v Speaker 3>it's it's interesting that that's kind of how it's worked
<v Speaker 3>out now.
<v Speaker 2>So yeah, not you because you couldn't get a bundle.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, that's tough.
<v Speaker 2>I agree with that sentiment one hundred percent, and a
<v Speaker 2>lot of people do like to remind me when I
<v Speaker 2>bring it up, actually it's fifty Yeah, right now it is,
<v Speaker 2>but that bundle only lasts through full so at some
<v Speaker 2>point that's not going to be an option. So in
<v Speaker 2>my mind, I review it like an eighty dollar game
<v Speaker 2>because end of the day, it's an eighty dollar game.
<v Speaker 1>But you're right, then, say something.
<v Speaker 3>I'm monitoring the chat and somebody just said fifteen nit
<v Speaker 3>is worth two I g on points the curve is reel,
<v Speaker 3>not true. Reviews don't start at a ten, they don't
<v Speaker 3>you don't start at a ten. In dark Points, you
<v Speaker 3>don't start at zero and ad points reviews aren't mad.
<v Speaker 1>Sorry he gave math. Hell yeah, I love that. Okay, No,
<v Speaker 1>it was.
<v Speaker 2>It's a good point. It's a good point. It's a
<v Speaker 2>very good point. I agree with you one hundred percent.
<v Speaker 2>You start at one and you work your way up.
<v Speaker 3>No, you don't do that either, you.
<v Speaker 4>Know.
<v Speaker 3>You just you pick a number based on how you
<v Speaker 3>feel about.
<v Speaker 2>You start at five and you start swinging in a direction?
<v Speaker 2>Am I right on my right logan?
<v Speaker 3>You're wrong?
<v Speaker 1>Okay.
<v Speaker 2>Let's take a look at this pricing thing.
<v Speaker 1>All right.
<v Speaker 2>So this is a very short article Nintendo switched pricing update.
<v Speaker 2>It just says Vancouver, BC. So this is in Canada.
<v Speaker 2>By the way, I probably should have set that way
<v Speaker 2>earlier to everybody freaking out. However, it's not a good
<v Speaker 2>sign in January.
<v Speaker 3>No, you did it on purpose? Come on, you know
<v Speaker 3>you know so.
<v Speaker 2>I did in the title and the thumb. Now do
<v Speaker 2>it on purpose. I was going to make it clearer
<v Speaker 2>off the rip and not have people wait forty eight minutes.
<v Speaker 2>But I forgot, and it's okay. Vancouver, BC, June thirtieth,
<v Speaker 2>June thirtieth. Wait, oh, yeah, it's this what's no third?
<v Speaker 2>Has the already been three days since this news? I
<v Speaker 2>thought it was yesterday.
<v Speaker 1>Time's going by? Wait, what's the day to day? July third?
<v Speaker 3>Third?
<v Speaker 1>It is the third? Oh my god, fourth of July tomorrow.
<v Speaker 2>I'm telling you guys, do but don't have a baby?
<v Speaker 1>Did you do?
<v Speaker 2>You know?
<v Speaker 1>Do you know I have a baby? Yes?
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, congratulations so much. We haven't really talked since then.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, I didn't know if you knew. It's going great,
<v Speaker 2>except time is an illusion at this point. Kim's birthday
<v Speaker 2>was the first, and I honestly feel like that was yesterday.
<v Speaker 2>I don't know what happened to yest. I don't know
<v Speaker 2>what we did yesterday. I don't know where life was yesterday.
<v Speaker 1>Let me talk. Let me read this.
<v Speaker 2>Pricing for the original Switch family of systems and products
<v Speaker 2>in Canada will change based on market conditions. These including
<v Speaker 2>Switch O LED model, you know, Switch and Switch Light.
<v Speaker 2>It's probably also have clarified. This is for the Wit
<v Speaker 2>and even more weird, for the last generation of systems.
<v Speaker 2>So where you would think the price would come down
<v Speaker 2>on the last generation of Nintendo, they're actually going up.
<v Speaker 2>Although we're also guessing that let me get there. Other
<v Speaker 2>Nintendo products, including Amebo's and Switch online memberships, will also
<v Speaker 2>experience price changes. Please note the price change does not
<v Speaker 2>apply to Switch to systems, accessories, or software. Pricing information
<v Speaker 2>specific to the Canadian market will be shared at Nintendo
<v Speaker 2>dot com Forward slash on something something.
<v Speaker 1>On August first.
<v Speaker 2>So we actually don't know when the price change is
<v Speaker 2>going to happen, but logically, logistically the fact that they're
<v Speaker 2>saying is going to be a price change and not saying, oh,
<v Speaker 2>it's dropping. You know, we'll let you know what the
<v Speaker 2>price is in August. It's it's obviously a price increase.
<v Speaker 2>I for the life of me can't figure out the
<v Speaker 2>reason they do say market conditions. But it's in Canada,
<v Speaker 2>so I don't think we can apply the tariff situation here,
<v Speaker 2>and you would think that it's only getting cheaper to
<v Speaker 2>make original switches. So logan, do you have any kind
<v Speaker 2>of insight here? Ign you any whispers in your ear
<v Speaker 2>you can tell us.
<v Speaker 3>No, I unfortunately don't really have insight on this other
<v Speaker 3>than this is just the pattern we've seen for the
<v Speaker 3>last four or so years now, just across the console market.
<v Speaker 3>PS five has consistently gone up in other regions around
<v Speaker 3>the world. Xbox Series X has consistently gone up. We
<v Speaker 3>saw a price change there recently. It only makes sense
<v Speaker 3>Sintendo would follow closely behind. At least. It's just impacting
<v Speaker 3>last gen for now. And this isn't to switch to thing,
<v Speaker 3>but yeah, it is kind of a weird one.
<v Speaker 2>It's true, it is impacting last gen. And you're right,
<v Speaker 2>it's worth mentioning that Xbox just raised the prices on
<v Speaker 2>the new the consoles that are out.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah. No, I thought that was a while ago they
<v Speaker 1>did that.
<v Speaker 2>I mean it was a couple of months, but yeah,
<v Speaker 2>while and then PlayStations five, uh, PlayStation five jumps up
<v Speaker 2>into last year or this year as well.
<v Speaker 1>I can't remember time is.
<v Speaker 3>I can't remember exactly.
<v Speaker 1>It's I think it was like PlayStation lower their prices again.
<v Speaker 2>Uh I I doubt it. Maybe you can look it up.
<v Speaker 2>The Xbox definitely went up, and then the switch is
<v Speaker 2>going up, so it it probably isn't within without reason
<v Speaker 2>that the switch to might get a price increase at
<v Speaker 2>some point, right, Am I crazy for saying that, Like
<v Speaker 2>obviously a couple maybe a couple of years from now, But.
<v Speaker 3>It could be who knows what it could be, like,
<v Speaker 3>it could be whenever, Like this is it's it sucks
<v Speaker 3>because the answer for consoles used to be wait for
<v Speaker 3>a price drop, but now it's get it before the
<v Speaker 3>price goes up, and that like sucks for consumers, but
<v Speaker 3>that's the reality we're in. But like when the switch
<v Speaker 3>to pre orders were delayed and fortunately Nintendo came back
<v Speaker 3>with the same price for the console and just bumped
<v Speaker 3>up the accessories a little bit. But basically Bowser said
<v Speaker 3>at the time, but hey, we're not making any promises,
<v Speaker 3>like this could change in the future, and yeah, it
<v Speaker 3>sucks that it's that uncertain, but yeah, this is really
<v Speaker 3>random to me that it's just switch one. I don't know,
<v Speaker 3>inflation something. Maybe they're just trying to switch two prices down.
<v Speaker 2>I think that's I think that's definitely it, like if
<v Speaker 2>they have to increase their prices at least in Canada
<v Speaker 2>for right now. And by the way, this is just
<v Speaker 2>in Canada, but it is it is scheduled for August.
<v Speaker 2>As far as telling us information, I mean, Canada could
<v Speaker 2>have just got to it first, you know, yeah they could.
<v Speaker 2>It could be a price increase coming here in America.
<v Speaker 2>It could be coming throughout the world. But uh, I
<v Speaker 2>don't want to make anyone panic and have anyone rush
<v Speaker 2>out to get a switch to because I do think
<v Speaker 2>that they're going to keep that price at the price
<v Speaker 2>for as long as possible. Yeah, I don't think Nintendo
<v Speaker 2>wants to raise the price now. They want raise Imagine
<v Speaker 2>they raise the price before like Christmas. They don't immediately,
<v Speaker 2>people are going to be like, oh, I'll wait and
<v Speaker 2>see if this comes back down, and they're going to
<v Speaker 2>lose all the Christmas sales. So don't rush out and
<v Speaker 2>panic thinking the Switch two price is going to go
<v Speaker 2>up and try getting one now. But as Logan said,
<v Speaker 2>and as I agree, I do think at some point,
<v Speaker 2>I don't know if you said this, I'm gonna speak
<v Speaker 2>for you. I do think at some point the switch
<v Speaker 2>too might get a price increase, and at which point, yeah,
<v Speaker 2>it's it's definitely becoming more of a get it before
<v Speaker 2>it goes up rather than get it before it goes
<v Speaker 2>or before it goes on sale, which is kind of crazy.
<v Speaker 2>I mean, at least you have warning here, right, like,
<v Speaker 2>hopefully they give us one. Hopefully Canada gets warning, like
<v Speaker 2>on August they're like, hey, it's going to go up
<v Speaker 2>in a month, get it now while you can.
<v Speaker 1>Hmmm. I mean, I don't know. It's because it's also
<v Speaker 1>weird that it's the Switch one. It is weird.
<v Speaker 2>Well, I get I think it's I think if they
<v Speaker 2>had their perfect world, it would be everything. But I
<v Speaker 2>don't think they can raise the price on switch too
<v Speaker 2>right now, so I think finalites I agree.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, yeah, it's like when they came back like they
<v Speaker 3>I actually think that the price increase stuff was almost
<v Speaker 3>the best case scenario. Something had to go up, Like
<v Speaker 3>the consoles stayed the same, the accessories went up a
<v Speaker 3>little bit, and more niche stuff for super hardcore people
<v Speaker 3>like Amiba went up a lot. You can see I
<v Speaker 3>have a lot of Amuba behind me, so that hurt
<v Speaker 3>my wallet personally. But I think it was the right
<v Speaker 3>choice though, and I think Nintendo's gonna do everything they can,
<v Speaker 3>Like you guys are saying to keep Switch to the same.
<v Speaker 3>There was a quote from for Akawa a few months
<v Speaker 3>ago saying, like their priority is to get the switch
<v Speaker 3>to in people's hands this year. They want to kind
<v Speaker 3>of rocket start that install based with like fifteen million
<v Speaker 3>in the first year or something. Like that. So, yeah,
<v Speaker 3>I don't expect a price increase at the very least
<v Speaker 3>for the end of this year.
<v Speaker 2>You are doing a lot of really nice segues for
<v Speaker 2>me because we can jump right into the switch selling
<v Speaker 2>five million here, which apparently it didn't.
<v Speaker 3>Forget it.
<v Speaker 2>I was fooled by that. A lot of people were.
<v Speaker 2>Actually I saw a lot of people tweeting about it yesterday,
<v Speaker 2>which it's fair because it.
<v Speaker 1>Got like leaked from Nintendo themselves. Yeah.
<v Speaker 2>Fair, it's fair to get fooled by it until they
<v Speaker 2>corrected the record. I didn't mean to immediately jump to this.
<v Speaker 2>I was going to finish that conversation. But I think
<v Speaker 2>we did it right.
<v Speaker 1>What do you think? Did we do it? And we
<v Speaker 1>did it?
<v Speaker 2>Kakes job everyone, And I quote as Logan from IGN said,
<v Speaker 2>buy a switch to now because the price is about
<v Speaker 2>to go up.
<v Speaker 1>That is IGN's statement. No no, no, no, no no no,
<v Speaker 1>I take it back and take it back.
<v Speaker 2>I was. I g n is very the corporation, the entity,
<v Speaker 2>the public, the publication of IgM, whatever you want to say,
<v Speaker 2>is very nice. To allow Logan to come on the
<v Speaker 2>show and uh talk with me live actually with no
<v Speaker 2>edits So I appreciate that.
<v Speaker 1>Ign I'm not for three weeks.
<v Speaker 3>I'm just kidding.
<v Speaker 1>Because when we did the.
<v Speaker 2>The Maria Brothers thing We Want Live, we pre recorded
<v Speaker 2>it and I asked you a ton of questions that
<v Speaker 2>I wanted answers to that you were like, well, I
<v Speaker 2>can so I don't know if I should even say this.
<v Speaker 2>I cut out a lot of stuff.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah you did. It's like it was funny because it
<v Speaker 3>was the opposite experience for me because I interview like
<v Speaker 3>folks from Nintendo sometimes and I asked them stuff and
<v Speaker 3>they're like, we're not going to answer that, And then
<v Speaker 3>I got to be on that side when I talked
<v Speaker 3>to you.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, I was gonna I was gonna say more, and
<v Speaker 2>I just won't say more. But yeah, I cut out
<v Speaker 2>a lot of stuff, which is which was never intended
<v Speaker 2>to be in the video. I just wanted to know things,
<v Speaker 2>all right. So let's cut to this. Nintendo Switched to
<v Speaker 2>appears to have sold five million units in its first month. Uh,
<v Speaker 2>this is we can just cut to the chase here. Really,
<v Speaker 2>but I guess Nintendo leaked that they did five million
<v Speaker 2>switched to console sales, which I don't It's not true.
<v Speaker 2>They came out and said that it was it was
<v Speaker 2>a placeholder number that accidentally leaked, but it's not the
<v Speaker 2>actual number. They didn't tell us what the actual number
<v Speaker 2>is because I don't think they have any intention on
<v Speaker 2>currently telling us the actual number. All we know is
<v Speaker 2>what they told us a few weeks ago, which was
<v Speaker 2>they sold three point five million. Yeah, and for it
<v Speaker 2>is so or three days whatever it was. That's the
<v Speaker 2>whole story really. But where I guess, unless Logan you
<v Speaker 2>have anything on that, where I guess I would like
<v Speaker 2>to go with it is just how much do we
<v Speaker 2>think they've actually sold? Because if they've sold three point
<v Speaker 2>four or five in the first week, you would think
<v Speaker 2>the trajectory of that is higher than five million right now.
<v Speaker 2>But conversely, they might not have that many to sell.
<v Speaker 2>They just might have just ran out of switches. I
<v Speaker 2>know here in America it's pretty hard to get one
<v Speaker 2>right now.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, I think that it's going to be around five
<v Speaker 3>million whenever we do hear from them next. I don't
<v Speaker 3>know if these numbers are exactly real, because they came
<v Speaker 3>back and said that they weren't, but who knows, they
<v Speaker 3>could be lying to us, But I think it'll be
<v Speaker 3>around here, because yeah, that three and a half in
<v Speaker 3>the first four days or whatever, that's from multiple waves
<v Speaker 3>of pre orders and a ton of stock at launch
<v Speaker 3>that all sold out in those first four days. So
<v Speaker 3>I don't think the trajectory would be higher. I think
<v Speaker 3>five million sounds about right.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, I guess you're right.
<v Speaker 2>I mean, to me, I'm like three point five million
<v Speaker 2>a week, and then that leaves a million and a
<v Speaker 2>half for three weeks. But you're all right, there is
<v Speaker 2>a niche sure, huge surge of people picking up their
<v Speaker 2>pre orders. Yeah, it's very I'd love to know five
<v Speaker 2>million does feel around around I wouldn't say it'd be
<v Speaker 2>any higher than six even like six would be crazy.
<v Speaker 1>That's a lot.
<v Speaker 2>See, it probably is around five, to be honest. I'm
<v Speaker 2>really curious to see where this not do you want
<v Speaker 2>to do you want to do a crazy prediction logan
<v Speaker 2>on where it ends up, because they'll probably tell us
<v Speaker 2>after this year, either late this year or this year
<v Speaker 2>how much they sold in their first year. I don't
<v Speaker 2>know what you call it, not physical year, but like
<v Speaker 2>in twenty twenty five is what I'm saying, Like up
<v Speaker 2>through the holiday season, I'm gonna guess I'm gonna put
<v Speaker 2>I'm gonna say ten million. Is that crazy? After holiday season?
<v Speaker 2>To say ten million? If they can get stocks back
<v Speaker 2>out on the shelf and they push for holidays because
<v Speaker 2>you think about Pokemon too, like Pokemon's assistance seller, and
<v Speaker 2>then Detroid's gonna well that's not really like a system seller,
<v Speaker 2>but it's definitely something that's going to make people be interested.
<v Speaker 2>And then we have a new Zelda game, which we'll
<v Speaker 2>do it like million two million. I think Pokemon is
<v Speaker 2>that you keep forgetting. Everyone keeps forgetting. Age of Imprisonment
<v Speaker 2>is this year.
<v Speaker 1>Oh yeah, but that's like the Dynasty Warrior. Yeah, I know,
<v Speaker 1>but it still Zeld.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, it's kind of yeah.
<v Speaker 1>Kind of.
<v Speaker 2>I think Pokemon is the thing that's going to push
<v Speaker 2>it to ten million this year.
<v Speaker 1>What do you think, Logan, I think it beats that.
<v Speaker 3>I'll say twelve twelve million just through its first holiday.
<v Speaker 3>It's stock permitting. They sell everyone they're making right now.
<v Speaker 3>I think that's going to continue through Christmas, so I think, actually, no,
<v Speaker 3>I'll bump it up.
<v Speaker 1>I'll say thirteen. I'll say it beats the win.
<v Speaker 2>I was about to say, formost we you I love
<v Speaker 2>that we you and its entirety. I can't stick at
<v Speaker 2>ten million. I feel like I have to op the anne.
<v Speaker 2>Now what do you think, bingal play a number? Place
<v Speaker 2>your bets. So now it's like, do you hedge and
<v Speaker 2>do you vote against Nintendo and give a lower number,
<v Speaker 2>or do you go higher than maybe a reality just
<v Speaker 2>so that you can actually want out the two Nintendo
<v Speaker 2>people in the room.
<v Speaker 1>I say twelve million, that's good. Twelve twelve is good.
<v Speaker 1>You gotta take it Logan's original. Yeah, twelve twelve and
<v Speaker 1>a half million.
<v Speaker 2>I I don't like where I'm at at ten anymore.
<v Speaker 3>No, well, if you say fourteen, you'll just sandwich me
<v Speaker 3>in at thirteen, and yeah, one of you guys will win.
<v Speaker 2>Also, you gotta remember too, like I don't want to
<v Speaker 2>sandwich you in.
<v Speaker 1>It's not fair.
<v Speaker 2>I'll stick at ten. That was my first guess. I
<v Speaker 2>think you're I think I was playing it safe.
<v Speaker 1>I was scared.
<v Speaker 2>You saying twelve made me realize I was playing it
<v Speaker 2>too safe. I think you're No, you're saying thirteen. I
<v Speaker 2>think you're right. I'm gonna say, here's what I'm gonna do,
<v Speaker 2>because I'll win either way. I'm saying ten and I'm
<v Speaker 2>putting money on Logan. What No, that way I win
<v Speaker 2>either way. Either way, I'm saying Bingo is gonna lose.
<v Speaker 1>No, this is crap. Is crap? I like it?
<v Speaker 3>No, that's good.
<v Speaker 1>That hedge in my bets. What time are we How
<v Speaker 1>much time you got?
<v Speaker 3>Ten minutes?
<v Speaker 2>Ten minutes? All right, let's see what we can do
<v Speaker 2>in ten minutes, and then we'll say goodbye to you, and.
<v Speaker 1>We'll go a little bit longer.
<v Speaker 2>We'll wind it out a little bit because I had
<v Speaker 2>some more things on here. All right, then I'll let
<v Speaker 2>you decide Logan for the last ten minutes. Do you
<v Speaker 2>want to talk about Super Mario strikers coming too? The
<v Speaker 2>thingy switch to is overheating apparently is a thing I
<v Speaker 2>threw in the dock.
<v Speaker 1>Donkey Kong talk.
<v Speaker 2>I mean it was apparently made by Team Odyssey.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, okay, let's talk to you.
<v Speaker 2>Let's do that for ten minutes then, So essentially I
<v Speaker 2>wanted to talk about, like, are we actually excited for
<v Speaker 2>this thing? But it has now been confirmed everybody's suspicions.
<v Speaker 2>A lot of people already kind of guessed this one
<v Speaker 2>that Donkey Kong Bonanza was developed by the Super Mario
<v Speaker 2>Odyssey Team, which is in my opinion, pretty huge, even
<v Speaker 2>though whether or not it was as long as Nintendo
<v Speaker 2>were at the I mean, I've played it and I
<v Speaker 2>think it's awesome. But that's definitely great for optics as
<v Speaker 2>far as people that might have been on the fence
<v Speaker 2>about this one, because Mario Odyssey is probably the best
<v Speaker 2>three D platform of all the time, really good. Well,
<v Speaker 2>what did you rate that one?
<v Speaker 1>Logan? Do you remember? Did you rate it? You were
<v Speaker 1>even there at the time.
<v Speaker 3>I didn't formally review that one, but I would give
<v Speaker 3>it a ten if I did.
<v Speaker 2>That's a masterpiece. What did you.
<v Speaker 1>Chasee the Kingdom? No, but that's a ten.
<v Speaker 2>Also, God, best friends, I'm telling you. Breath of the
<v Speaker 2>Wild Tennis.
<v Speaker 3>Well, at the time, probably like when it came out
<v Speaker 3>and was new, I probably have given it a ten.
<v Speaker 3>But as the years have gone by, I have some
<v Speaker 3>significant issues.
<v Speaker 1>With that game.
<v Speaker 3>I still think it's great, but I like Chears the
<v Speaker 3>Kingdom way more than Breath.
<v Speaker 1>Well, great is an eight?
<v Speaker 3>It is great. Yeah, that is an eight. So yeah,
<v Speaker 3>that's probably what i'd give it.
<v Speaker 1>And like now, like eight years later.
<v Speaker 2>But on day one, that was I agree with all
<v Speaker 2>that people ask me all the time. They're like, do
<v Speaker 2>you prefer Breath to watch Head to the Kingdom, And
<v Speaker 2>people will say Breath of the Wild because they're like, oh,
<v Speaker 2>the first one, and Taste of the Kingdom was essentially
<v Speaker 2>just doc but like going back and playing Breath of
<v Speaker 2>the Wild after playing Teas of the Kingdom is challenging,
<v Speaker 2>to say the least. I don't Donkey Kong, So yeah,
<v Speaker 2>I mean, that's really it. I just want to talk
<v Speaker 2>about how excited we are. Has a logan. Has the
<v Speaker 2>information that this was developed by the Odyssey team heightened
<v Speaker 2>changed affected your excitement for this game at all?
<v Speaker 3>I don't want to brag, but I think I've known
<v Speaker 3>the whole time, not in an official capacity, but the
<v Speaker 3>day this game was announced on April second, when I
<v Speaker 3>was at this switch to premiere event in New York,
<v Speaker 3>I was at the hands on event. I played it
<v Speaker 3>and I'm like, that's an Odyssey sequel. And then I
<v Speaker 3>interviewed Bill Trin in the next day and I was like, Hey,
<v Speaker 3>is the Odyssey team making this? And He's like, you'll
<v Speaker 3>have to wait to find out. But I have felt
<v Speaker 3>in my bones this has been an Odyssey team game.
<v Speaker 1>The whole time.
<v Speaker 3>I am unbelievably excited for this game, Like, I think
<v Speaker 3>it is going to be the best game that comes
<v Speaker 3>out on switch to this year from what we've seen
<v Speaker 3>so far. We just had a new preview go up
<v Speaker 3>on generarlier this week, and the preview loved it. He
<v Speaker 3>loved it so much. I love what I've played of
<v Speaker 3>it so far at the preview event that I went to,
<v Speaker 3>and at the Best Buy Kioska demo, which you can
<v Speaker 3>go play right now. But I love DK, I love
<v Speaker 3>Mario Odissey, like this I think is going to be
<v Speaker 3>really good.
<v Speaker 2>That would actually be a pretty good YouTube video if
<v Speaker 2>I went and found one of those Kiosks and did
<v Speaker 2>like a first impressions at the Kiosk.
<v Speaker 1>Actually, it's not a bad idea, I agree with you.
<v Speaker 2>I also went to the Nintendo Experience event. I was
<v Speaker 2>not invited, but I went and I got to play
<v Speaker 2>twenty minutes of Donkey Kong. And there's a certain feeling
<v Speaker 2>when you start playing it in the way that it
<v Speaker 2>controls and the way that Donkey Kong feels to move around.
<v Speaker 2>It feels like Odyssey, Like it feels like a sequel.
<v Speaker 2>It really does. It feels like a brand new Odyssey
<v Speaker 2>game that you've unlocked the playable character of Donkey Kong
<v Speaker 2>and he controls differently to Mario, and it's had a
<v Speaker 2>huge resolution and frame rate boost, although there was a
<v Speaker 2>lot of lag. I'm curious because since the Odyssey team
<v Speaker 2>was working on, you know, Bonanza. Yeah, does that mean
<v Speaker 2>the three D Mario game is going to be a
<v Speaker 2>bit for that is an interesting conversation. What do you
<v Speaker 2>think of that logan? Because I I can't imagine they
<v Speaker 2>were doing Odyssey two or a new Mario at the
<v Speaker 2>same time as Bonanza.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah.
<v Speaker 3>This is where it gets interesting because Nintendo's being very
<v Speaker 3>coy as usual about the actual names that are attached
<v Speaker 3>to Bonanza.
<v Speaker 1>We don't know any names.
<v Speaker 3>We just know. All they said at this event was
<v Speaker 3>it's being developed by the same team that developed Super
<v Speaker 3>Mario Odyssey. I think an outlet VGC pushed harder and
<v Speaker 3>got them to confirm it is in Tokyo, and that
<v Speaker 3>is where the Nintendo Mario team is. Is Nintendo Tokyo.
<v Speaker 3>That's the only studio they have in Tokyo. The rest
<v Speaker 3>is in Kyoto. But they also made like Captain Toad
<v Speaker 3>at the same time, they were making like three D
<v Speaker 3>World and they made Bowser's Fury, which is the smaller thing.
<v Speaker 3>So I think it's very likely that there's two separate
<v Speaker 3>teams at this studio. One is cooking on a three
<v Speaker 3>D Mario while one was making this. I don't think
<v Speaker 3>it means that three D Mario's coming this year. I
<v Speaker 3>think that would be silly to expect to giant three
<v Speaker 3>D PI. I agree with you here. I think there
<v Speaker 3>are million years into production on something.
<v Speaker 2>You you you get it, man, But do you want
<v Speaker 2>to do you?
<v Speaker 1>Do you want to do a podcast together?
<v Speaker 3>We're doing that right now. No, we got to keep
<v Speaker 3>this rivalry going.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, I know we need the rivalry.
<v Speaker 2>I By the way, I'm only going to say this
<v Speaker 2>because I'm petty and because you are always going to
<v Speaker 2>be above me. For the history of mankind. We were
<v Speaker 2>two and three the other day and I was two
<v Speaker 2>and you were three.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, be petty, put me in my place. Please that
<v Speaker 1>it was not.
<v Speaker 3>Like the day years published and like the day before
<v Speaker 3>we published, so ours was six days old.
<v Speaker 2>Uh. It could have been that, or it could have
<v Speaker 2>been the fact that I did some leaking of certain
<v Speaker 2>things and it got a bunch of article traction that
<v Speaker 2>I usually don't get. Yeah, yeah, okay, I are.
<v Speaker 3>You talking about some July direct do you think is happening?
<v Speaker 1>Was that?
<v Speaker 3>What that was?
<v Speaker 1>So in this uh.
<v Speaker 2>On this Odyssey, let's talk about the Odissey thing. July
<v Speaker 2>seventeenth release date? Are we excited? What everybody's excitement?
<v Speaker 4>Like?
<v Speaker 1>Oh?
<v Speaker 2>This is what I was gonna say. I do want
<v Speaker 2>to ask that. I know you have to go, but
<v Speaker 2>I want everyone to be very aware of what's happening
<v Speaker 2>right here. If this is aboutoped by Odyssey team, and
<v Speaker 2>it's as good as Odyssey was, and in general it's
<v Speaker 2>as good as the game as we think it's going
<v Speaker 2>to be. Think of the Switch one library and the
<v Speaker 2>best like five games, you would always put Odyssey in there.
<v Speaker 2>A lot of people might even put it in the
<v Speaker 2>first spot, if not top two or top three, like
<v Speaker 2>it really floats around there, depends on the time. That
<v Speaker 2>also came out in the first year of Switch one.
<v Speaker 2>This is coming out right now. I think what we're
<v Speaker 2>looking at right here is going to be like one
<v Speaker 2>of the best, if not the best game that this
<v Speaker 2>console will ever get. There's a good chance of that
<v Speaker 2>moving forward. I don't want to believe that king well
<v Speaker 2>in the best way. I'm not saying it's going to
<v Speaker 2>peak early, and I'm sure we're going to have a
<v Speaker 2>ton of other experiences, but top five, like we're getting
<v Speaker 2>one of the best ones off the rip.
<v Speaker 1>I feel, oh yeah, yeah.
<v Speaker 2>So I watched everyone's excitement. I agree, thank you some
<v Speaker 2>I agree with you agreeing with me. So what's everybody's
<v Speaker 2>excitement level? Logan, give me a out of an ign
<v Speaker 2>scale of one to ten. What's your excitement level for
<v Speaker 2>Donkey Kong Bonanza.
<v Speaker 3>I'll I want to attach that to it, but I
<v Speaker 3>will say personally, I'm a ten out of ten excited
<v Speaker 3>for this game. I think it's going to be unreal, Like, yeah,
<v Speaker 3>it's been We're so overdue for a Donkey Kong game,
<v Speaker 3>like and a three D one specifically, there's only been
<v Speaker 3>one ever and it's been ten years since the last
<v Speaker 3>like real DK game with tropical Freeze, so like, it's
<v Speaker 3>so time for this, and I think it's going to
<v Speaker 3>be really good.
<v Speaker 1>I'm thinking about Donkey Kong sixty four.
<v Speaker 2>My god, yeah, yes, Bingl, I'm guessing you're at ten.
<v Speaker 1>You love you love Monkeys, I'm a ten.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, I'm definitely A ten as well, and I think
<v Speaker 2>I may have hedged my bets on my excitement if
<v Speaker 2>it wasn't for the fact that I've literally played it
<v Speaker 2>and that twenty minutes that I played left me wanting
<v Speaker 2>so much more. Uh, it was an incredibly fun twenty minutes.
<v Speaker 2>The thing I did note while playing it is that
<v Speaker 2>all I did in that twenty minutes was smash like
<v Speaker 2>the A button like the whole time, I'm just smashing
<v Speaker 2>one button. I think that's the whole game. But it's
<v Speaker 2>still super satisfying. All right, Logan, I would talk to
<v Speaker 2>you all day, but you had a hard out and
<v Speaker 2>I don't want to I don't want to keep you.
<v Speaker 1>So how are you doing?
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, yeah, I think I got a I got a run.
<v Speaker 3>But thanks so much for the invite, and yeah, I'd
<v Speaker 3>love to come back again.
<v Speaker 1>Thank you so much.
<v Speaker 2>IGN's Logan plant that you can find on Twitter at
<v Speaker 2>Logan Jplant as is on the screen right now. Usually
<v Speaker 2>I would leave it on you, but it's auto cutting
<v Speaker 2>and I can't do any thing about that. And yeah,
<v Speaker 2>you can find him obviously his IGN reviews. He does
<v Speaker 2>a lot of Nintendo coverage, but most of all, I
<v Speaker 2>guess if you enjoyed this podcast episode and you loved
<v Speaker 2>listening to his sultry voice and seeing his very handsome
<v Speaker 2>face every time the order switcher decided to cut to
<v Speaker 2>him and not linger on me, you can actually go
<v Speaker 2>and watch him do his own podcast, which is the
<v Speaker 2>Nintendo Voice Chat podcast, which is I'm pretty sure the
<v Speaker 2>largest Nintendo podcast in the gaming space and online. So
<v Speaker 2>you really are missing out if you're not listening to it,
<v Speaker 2>you're missing out on Logan. If you're not listening to.
<v Speaker 3>It, Thanks so much, man. Yeah, you can find us.
<v Speaker 3>We're every Friday at six am Pacific on YouTube. The
<v Speaker 3>channel is IGN Games and we also publish on any
<v Speaker 3>audio service that you like to listen to. So yeah,
<v Speaker 3>come check us out.
<v Speaker 2>There you go, and if you are going to listen
<v Speaker 2>to it, listen to mine first. Just equal out, equal
<v Speaker 2>out the views there for me on the podcast charts.
<v Speaker 2>All right, Logan, thank you so much for hanging out.
<v Speaker 2>It was a lot of fun. We'll talk to you
<v Speaker 2>soon anytime.
<v Speaker 1>Bye bye.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, it's it's definitely gonna yeah. Okay, cool, it shouldn't
<v Speaker 2>throw to it now because there's no sound coming through
<v Speaker 2>there anymore.
<v Speaker 1>That's true.
<v Speaker 2>Okay, go ahead actually and hopefully not mess everything up,
<v Speaker 2>but you can yank out the HDMI, yeah, because then
<v Speaker 2>there's no way that it will cut to it because
<v Speaker 2>the audio is coming through HDMI. I think we're good,
<v Speaker 2>all right, Guys off the rip want to say thank
<v Speaker 2>you so much to Logan again. He really is so
<v Speaker 2>charming and we get along so well. He's like a
<v Speaker 2>more professional me. He's he's very well informed, very professional,
<v Speaker 2>very well spoken, very smart, and he's like he's he's
<v Speaker 2>honestly than me. If I had gone to school, i'd
<v Speaker 2>like learned how to be good at my job. I'd
<v Speaker 2>probably also be working for IGN. Actually I've never told
<v Speaker 2>this story, but I was offered to work at IGN once.
<v Speaker 2>Wait really yeah, very very long time ago, when I
<v Speaker 2>first moved to I can't believe I've never told this.
<v Speaker 2>It's a nothing story. When I first moved to North America,
<v Speaker 2>I was living in Canada after about nine months, and
<v Speaker 2>IGN legitimately emailed me and approached me. I was doing
<v Speaker 2>some like just I don't know what I was doing
<v Speaker 2>on YouTube at the time, and they wanted to know
<v Speaker 2>if I wanted to intern, and I don't know, like
<v Speaker 2>write some stuff. Or do research or something at IGN,
<v Speaker 2>which would obviously have had led to a career at IGN.
<v Speaker 2>I think a similar thing might have happened to is
<v Speaker 2>a lot of Piers Ign or was she ever ign?
<v Speaker 1>I have no idea, I'm not familiar. I don't want
<v Speaker 1>to speak out of turn. Yeah, anyway, that's what happened
<v Speaker 1>to me.
<v Speaker 2>And I was doing my own YouTube at the time,
<v Speaker 2>and it was like kind of taking off at the time,
<v Speaker 2>and I was trying to decide, like do I want
<v Speaker 2>to go and work for a for a publisher and
<v Speaker 2>like you know, have a boss and everything and do
<v Speaker 2>kind of what I'm doing now with a boss, or
<v Speaker 2>do I want to keep kind of piddling around doing
<v Speaker 2>what I'm doing now. And I, more than anything, I
<v Speaker 2>was just kind of nervous. I was like the uncertainty
<v Speaker 2>kills you.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah.
<v Speaker 2>Well, I was more like I don't know if I'm
<v Speaker 2>good enough for that because I wasn't really well written.
<v Speaker 2>I hadn't I wasn't really doing like in detailed reviews
<v Speaker 2>at the time, and yeah, I was just kind of scared.
<v Speaker 2>I was like, I don't know, and I just kind
<v Speaker 2>of like sat on the email and never replied. But
<v Speaker 2>that was almost me.
<v Speaker 1>You would have been an IGN reviewer. I could have.
<v Speaker 1>I might be you would have had that part done.
<v Speaker 1>That could have been my podcast. I'm very happy with
<v Speaker 1>the way that I turned out, and I'm happy that
<v Speaker 1>ah Logan. Logan's better for that job. Believe me, he does.
<v Speaker 1>He does a great job.
<v Speaker 2>The other thing I was going to say is the
<v Speaker 2>swish was pretty good.
<v Speaker 3>It's it's it was.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, it was doing a decent job.
<v Speaker 2>There was a couple of times, for some reason, it
<v Speaker 2>was just sat on me while Logan was talking, which
<v Speaker 2>bothered me a little and distracted me. And I wish
<v Speaker 2>I had a button to force it to go back
<v Speaker 2>to Logan. But uh, I think it did really well.
<v Speaker 2>I didn't know if you wanted me to do it,
<v Speaker 2>I would have just and then I would.
<v Speaker 1>Have held this. I think.
<v Speaker 2>I think now that you've seen it in action and
<v Speaker 2>you know how to do that, then maybe ye next time,
<v Speaker 2>that would be a good idea.
<v Speaker 1>I know I'm pretty comfortable doing it.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, that might be good, but yeah, I think it.
<v Speaker 2>I think, honestly, guys, that whole podcast was auto switched.
<v Speaker 2>Everything was autowch. No one pressed any buttons. I didn't
<v Speaker 2>press a single button this whole. The only button I
<v Speaker 2>press is I can cut the screen share here, which
<v Speaker 2>I need control of. And I actually like that I
<v Speaker 2>have control over it because now I'm not saying, like,
<v Speaker 2>hey Max, can you can you switch cut away? But
<v Speaker 2>now I can just blablet blah blah and it auto
<v Speaker 2>switches when we're on this here too.
<v Speaker 1>How cool is that? That's pretty cool? All right? Let
<v Speaker 1>me bring up chat.
<v Speaker 2>Uh, you could have been famous. I was so close
<v Speaker 2>to becoming famous.
<v Speaker 1>I really was. What is an IGN agent?
<v Speaker 2>I would work at IGN if, like, if this all
<v Speaker 2>went caput, I mean, why not, I'd work at IGN.
<v Speaker 2>I feel like that's honestly, the career path I would
<v Speaker 2>take anyway is like editing if I wasn't.
<v Speaker 1>Doing my own stuff. All right, guys, I hope you were.
<v Speaker 2>How day you leak DK Bonanza previews are out?
<v Speaker 1>I don't know if we did do that. All right.
<v Speaker 2>I got to get back on the track here. We
<v Speaker 2>had such a great episode. I don't want to get
<v Speaker 2>derailed too much. I do want to get out of
<v Speaker 2>here relatively soon, because you want to get home. But
<v Speaker 2>there is a couple of things that I think, oh,
<v Speaker 2>we got to do a bonus episode two. Yeah, well, bingle,
<v Speaker 2>let me see. Do you want to talk about The
<v Speaker 2>Perfect Dark getting canceled?
<v Speaker 1>Yeah? Actually, I'm actually really livid about the Xbox the
<v Speaker 1>whole I can't stand Michael Michaelsoft.
<v Speaker 2>Michael Michaelsoft. Yeah, let's talk about that. The other things
<v Speaker 2>we can do in the bonus episode. So in the
<v Speaker 2>bonus episode for patreons only, we're going to talk about Twinklink.
<v Speaker 2>Hell yeah, apparently a Banjo Kazui game was in development
<v Speaker 2>and got scrapped, and switch tos are overheating. Actually, there
<v Speaker 2>is one thing I wanted to show the on the
<v Speaker 2>main episode real quickly.
<v Speaker 1>I don't know if we're going to get audio Fire.
<v Speaker 4>Twentieth is the only arcane episode to make the list.
<v Speaker 2>Of base Okay, here we have the top twenty highest
<v Speaker 2>rated episodes on IMDb. I think like, oh, didn't you
<v Speaker 2>send me this? I did, Yeah, you did. But I
<v Speaker 2>wanted to show every everybody and now know why. Pretty soon?
<v Speaker 2>I think this is old time. I think this is
<v Speaker 2>just all time. So last week with Celia, we had
<v Speaker 2>a conversation about what is the greatest anime of all time?
<v Speaker 2>And I boldly, I boldly staked my flag, my attack
<v Speaker 2>on Titan flag.
<v Speaker 1>I don't know what they call their emblem.
<v Speaker 2>It has a name, my attack on Titan flag into
<v Speaker 2>the ground, And I said Attack on Titan is the
<v Speaker 2>best anime of all time. And then side note, I
<v Speaker 2>was just on TikTok and I saw this pop up
<v Speaker 2>Top twenty highest rated episodes of all time.
<v Speaker 4>These violence are necessary change, which is season ONELF.
<v Speaker 1>For anything ever? Yeah, just episodes?
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, episode three kind of surprising, and number nineteen is
<v Speaker 4>six Sessions episode all the Bells say in the season
<v Speaker 4>three finale, and number eighteen is savagery from Attack on Titan.
<v Speaker 2>So number eighteen is an attack on Titan.
<v Speaker 4>Episode season four, very accurate for the things that are
<v Speaker 4>said in this episode. And again at number seven.
<v Speaker 2>Number seventeen is an attack on Titan episode.
<v Speaker 4>Keen with Assault, and number sixteen is several into season
<v Speaker 4>one finale and surprisingly season two's finale is only a
<v Speaker 4>nine point five missed the list entirely, and number fifteen
<v Speaker 4>we have better calls.
<v Speaker 1>On I need to watch appearance on I've Never Seen
<v Speaker 1>in a Hard Place.
<v Speaker 4>Number fourteen and thirteen are two Clone Wars episodes from the.
<v Speaker 2>Final This made me actually stop watching Clone Wars for
<v Speaker 2>the first time.
<v Speaker 1>You never saw Clone Wars.
<v Speaker 2>No, I was like, I was like, oh, if it's
<v Speaker 2>that good, I should watch it. Like Attack on Titan.
<v Speaker 2>Apparently this is good too, And the first season is rough,
<v Speaker 2>like animation. I don't know what's happening with the story.
<v Speaker 2>It's all like childish and kiddy, and so I started
<v Speaker 2>googling it to make sure I was watching the right thing,
<v Speaker 2>and everyone's like, first season is rough.
<v Speaker 1>So I got to get through that.
<v Speaker 4>Oh, Arc Shaddared and The Phantom Apprentice, both with nine
<v Speaker 4>point eight ratings, and number twelve aots back in the
<v Speaker 4>list with from You twenty.
<v Speaker 2>Number twelve is Attack on Titan, of course years ago
<v Speaker 2>number eleven with the number eleven Attack on Titan.
<v Speaker 4>They're all good, Just so Manys of the Future, which
<v Speaker 4>probably contains one of the.
<v Speaker 2>Only, by the way, one hundred episodes of Attack on Titan.
<v Speaker 2>It's like the equivalent I guess of five seasons of
<v Speaker 2>a TV show.
<v Speaker 1>How many we're on this list? How many episodes? Oh what?
<v Speaker 1>How many episodes are on this list of Attack on
<v Speaker 1>t I don't know four so far. Okay, we're only
<v Speaker 1>at eleven, but there's only one hundred episodes of Attack
<v Speaker 1>on Titan. So like TV shows usually have like twenty
<v Speaker 1>episodes a season, right, so that's like five seasons. It's
<v Speaker 1>not crazy.
<v Speaker 2>I'm not saying it's like one piece where there's a
<v Speaker 2>thousand episodes, so like, yeah, eventually there's a lot they're
<v Speaker 2>gonna get.
<v Speaker 1>No, there's only one hundred.
<v Speaker 4>The craziest TV show plot twist of all time and
<v Speaker 4>the number ten.
<v Speaker 1>Ten's Attack on Titan. That's fine. This isn't this guy's opinion.
<v Speaker 1>By the way, this is This is.
<v Speaker 2>IMDb's rating from ninety thousand. This is for ninety thousand
<v Speaker 2>critic ratings. This has a nine point eight on IMDb.
<v Speaker 2>Ninety thousand people agreed with this or the war created.
<v Speaker 4>And a number nine with declaration of.
<v Speaker 2>Number nine is Attack on Titan. Wait, that's six six
<v Speaker 2>of them so far, six episode six of the top twenty.
<v Speaker 1>Okay, War number three.
<v Speaker 4>Is the Mandalorian season two finale, the Rescue and honestly,
<v Speaker 4>can we just a race season three and pretend this
<v Speaker 4>was the ending of the show.
<v Speaker 2>I agree with you, I didn't season Yeah, number seven better,
<v Speaker 2>I really have to watch better close.
<v Speaker 4>Calls, all point and shoot, it's better calls all going
<v Speaker 4>back to back here with soul.
<v Speaker 2>That's crazy. I really have to watch this show.
<v Speaker 4>On Number five is the very last episode of the
<v Speaker 4>Clone Wars with victory and death. The season one finale
<v Speaker 4>of Invincible just missed the top twenty, but the season
<v Speaker 4>three finale is actually in the top four before the
<v Speaker 4>top three. If you love movies and TV, hit that
<v Speaker 4>followup button.
<v Speaker 1>Helmy, get to check this guy out.
<v Speaker 4>Number three successions second appear.
<v Speaker 1>I don't know if there's any more Attack on tit.
<v Speaker 4>Number two better call sel in an execution and surprising.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, that's it. But six six of the top twenty
<v Speaker 1>we're Attack on Titan. So if that's six six episodes
<v Speaker 1>out of what one hundred one hundred episodes? Yeah, what's
<v Speaker 1>the percent of that? Um? Six or six six percent? Yeah, yeah,
<v Speaker 1>that's pretty easy. Six percent of the whole show was
<v Speaker 1>in the top twenty.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, and that's not discredit Like all the other episodes
<v Speaker 2>that probably are like nine stars or higher that I
<v Speaker 2>love that are probably in the top fifty if you
<v Speaker 2>looked at them, there's probably a bunch more in the
<v Speaker 2>top fifty. Attack on Titan is insane. That's what I'm
<v Speaker 2>trying to tell you, guys, if you haven't seen Attack
<v Speaker 2>on Titan, it is probably it might be the best
<v Speaker 2>thing you've ever watched. Like realistically, unless you've seen, unless
<v Speaker 2>you've seen Better Call Soul or Succession or whatever other
<v Speaker 2>shows are in here, there is a better than not
<v Speaker 2>chance if you watch Attack on Titan tomorrow, it'll be
<v Speaker 2>the best thing you've ever seen, even like just statistically,
<v Speaker 2>not even opinion based, I am recommending to you is
<v Speaker 2>the best thing you might ever see. You see those
<v Speaker 2>other than Better Call Soul in one episode or brow check.
<v Speaker 1>Course, there's like the memes of when like somebody puts
<v Speaker 1>on Attack on Titan in their in their like home
<v Speaker 1>with their dad, and like, what the hell is this
<v Speaker 1>and then like three episodes later that is glued to
<v Speaker 1>the freaking dude. There's so many memes.
<v Speaker 2>There's there's one of I see I think I've told
<v Speaker 2>this before on the podcast, but someone in a doctor's
<v Speaker 2>office getting bad news and the doctor's like, I'm so
<v Speaker 2>sorry you've lost all of your memory, and the guy's
<v Speaker 2>face is like.
<v Speaker 1>And then it cuts and he's watching I wish I
<v Speaker 1>could go in for a fresh start with that.
<v Speaker 2>It's like it's honestly like Oceran or a Time or
<v Speaker 2>Breath of the Wild, like what I would do to
<v Speaker 2>wipe and do it again. Although I feel like you
<v Speaker 2>enjoy it more the second time.
<v Speaker 1>Well, you get more of the nuance.
<v Speaker 2>So the second time you watch a tack On Titan
<v Speaker 2>is insane.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, because you know, you connect all the pieces, one.
<v Speaker 2>Hundred episodes, guys, and they knew how it was gonna
<v Speaker 2>end in episode one, and there are there are flashbacks
<v Speaker 2>to episode one later in the show that warp your
<v Speaker 2>whole vision of everything you thought.
<v Speaker 1>Also, when you're watching it and you get those flashbacks,
<v Speaker 1>you get the chills.
<v Speaker 2>You that the first and then when you go back
<v Speaker 2>and you watch the first episode raw, you're like, that's what.
<v Speaker 1>And then oh my god. Yeah yep.
<v Speaker 2>I will say for some reason, the first time I
<v Speaker 2>ever watched it, it was really hard to get through
<v Speaker 2>the first five episodes.
<v Speaker 1>Gory, no, just boring.
<v Speaker 2>Really yeah, I don't know why, I just the first
<v Speaker 2>five episodes there there Once you get the full scope
<v Speaker 2>and they tied it all back in and you go
<v Speaker 2>back and rewatch, it's addicting to see how they were
<v Speaker 2>setting it all up. But the very first time I
<v Speaker 2>watched it, I was like, where is this going? What's
<v Speaker 2>the hook? You don't really find out the hook until
<v Speaker 2>like episode seven. All right, um, sorry about that. Let's
<v Speaker 2>just do this and then we'll do the bonus episode.
<v Speaker 2>Xbox canceled the reboot of Perfect Dark and is shutting
<v Speaker 2>down the initiative. Rare's Ever Wild has also been canceled.
<v Speaker 2>I think it's insane that that's even like a little
<v Speaker 2>tagline that the ever Wild, because that's been going for years. Yep,
<v Speaker 2>ever Wild. I can't even remember what ever Wild was
<v Speaker 2>at this point.
<v Speaker 1>I'll give you, I'll pull it up, but I'm livid.
<v Speaker 2>I honestly have so many thoughts on this that could
<v Speaker 2>be a time to bring back reactum Ups, because I've
<v Speaker 2>been ranting on that channel for a while about Xbox
<v Speaker 2>and their terrible business decisions.
<v Speaker 1>Xbox. I don't even know where to begin. I don't
<v Speaker 1>even know where to begin. It's so disappointing. Xbox has
<v Speaker 1>been canceling first party games and just shutting down studios
<v Speaker 1>for the last what six seven years? Even more I know,
<v Speaker 1>I God, I don't know where to begin. Like this
<v Speaker 1>was supposed to be from twenty twenty, they released about
<v Speaker 1>talking about ever Wild. Yeah, I know, they just dropped it.
<v Speaker 2>Xbox has been so disappointing, Like three sixty was a
<v Speaker 2>great error. Then you went into Xbox One and they
<v Speaker 2>tried forcing the connect and everything, and there wasn't a
<v Speaker 2>ton of games on the console. Then going into Series X,
<v Speaker 2>they all was it one X next, Xbox one, Xbox
<v Speaker 2>one X, Xbox Series X.
<v Speaker 1>It's Series X, It's Series X. But the one X
<v Speaker 1>was supposed to be It's like the pro it is. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>so you know, I'm even forgetting it. Yeah it was one.
<v Speaker 1>It was one S and then one X.
<v Speaker 2>Okay, so uh going into the Xbox one generation, the
<v Speaker 2>game started really lacking yep. And where they tried to
<v Speaker 2>win us back as Xbox fans going into the new
<v Speaker 2>generation was they were like, we're bringing back like game
<v Speaker 2>development and our studios, and we're gonna be purchasing these
<v Speaker 2>I remember, I still remember. We're buying out these thirteen
<v Speaker 2>game studios. Was a big thing they did at some
<v Speaker 2>press conference and they bought these thirteen studios out that
<v Speaker 2>were supposed to be making games exclusively for them. Then
<v Speaker 2>a year or so after that, they brought out Bethesda,
<v Speaker 2>so they were buying out all of these companies to
<v Speaker 2>start putting out all of these games, and they're like,
<v Speaker 2>we've got ram making ever Wild, We've got a Perfect
<v Speaker 2>Dark in the works, We've got Fable coming, We've got
<v Speaker 2>all of these games coming, and then.
<v Speaker 1>Nope, that's it. And also Fable we got Fable got
<v Speaker 1>canceled before.
<v Speaker 2>I think Fable is still happening.
<v Speaker 1>No, I know that, but yeah, to get we were
<v Speaker 1>supposed to get a Fable Legends on Xbox One. I know.
<v Speaker 2>Those game studios really amounted to nothing. I think Arcane
<v Speaker 2>made a couple games and they were pretty average. Other
<v Speaker 2>than that, I can't I can't even list you. I mean,
<v Speaker 2>we got the people kind of liked that Indiana Jones game.
<v Speaker 1>I can't remember.
<v Speaker 2>Who did Bethesda make that Indiana Jones.
<v Speaker 1>I can't even remember. I don't it's a flash in
<v Speaker 1>the pan.
<v Speaker 2>But the point is we barely got anything out of
<v Speaker 2>all those acquisitions, and now they're shutting down the studios
<v Speaker 2>that they bought and shutting down like Perfect Dark and
<v Speaker 2>ever Wild.
<v Speaker 1>Wait didn't they show off Perfect Dark? Was it last year?
<v Speaker 1>I don't even know.
<v Speaker 2>I don't even know what's happening anymore.
<v Speaker 1>Because like I remember seeing that commercial and I remember
<v Speaker 1>going a bob and like, oh, this looks sick because
<v Speaker 1>I love perfect.
<v Speaker 2>Dark Xbox and I ranted about this on Reacting mops
<v Speaker 2>like I said, but they said, I think if Phil
<v Speaker 2>Spencer said he doesn't believe exclusive games bring people to
<v Speaker 2>a console, like they have lost that mentality completely. They
<v Speaker 2>literally have said exclusive games don't sell a console, is
<v Speaker 2>what they said.
<v Speaker 1>King last year. They showed it perfectly last year and
<v Speaker 1>then they closed it down so dumb.
<v Speaker 2>So they don't believe in making games for their platform.
<v Speaker 2>They seem to be giving up on hardware. There's some
<v Speaker 2>someone that helped start Xbox back in the day. I'm
<v Speaker 2>gonna misquote them horribly and I apologize. I saw an
<v Speaker 2>article a day or two ago they came out and
<v Speaker 2>publicly said that they're disappointed with the trajectory that Xbox
<v Speaker 2>is taken in the hardware space, and that clearly efforts
<v Speaker 2>like with the rog Ally reskin Xbox. It's I don't
<v Speaker 2>know why people are so excited for that. It's quite
<v Speaker 2>literally a rog Ally with an Xbox skin.
<v Speaker 1>I'm good.
<v Speaker 2>You know what would be good if Xbox actually made
<v Speaker 2>a handheld? Yeah, like an actual an held from Xbox.
<v Speaker 2>But they're just not interested in making hardware because they
<v Speaker 2>know it's not gonna sell.
<v Speaker 1>Aren't they making a new hardware like a new count God,
<v Speaker 1>I mean that could be what.
<v Speaker 2>They perfect doc what they making ever wild? Like, yeah,
<v Speaker 2>you're what do they make? All they do is release
<v Speaker 2>controller skins they relate. It's like Midnight Blue Xbox Controller Lava,
<v Speaker 2>Lava Gold Xbox. Because all they do is release Xbox controllers.
<v Speaker 2>I feel like I don't. And then and then they
<v Speaker 2>raise the prices on everything, Bengal, I'm yelling at you
<v Speaker 2>when it's cutting to you, Bingal.
<v Speaker 1>Well, my god, no, they raised They raised all the prices,
<v Speaker 1>and you know what, they even tried like they act
<v Speaker 1>like they can justify the price hike on their games.
<v Speaker 1>I feel like there there is no justification on anything
<v Speaker 1>that Xbox does now.
<v Speaker 2>It is, it doesn't make any sense. It's bizarreomy that
<v Speaker 2>they don't believe in creating exclusive games for a console.
<v Speaker 2>Anytime they make anything that's even close to an exclusive,
<v Speaker 2>obviously it cross releases on PC, but then it goes
<v Speaker 2>to PlayStation a few months later, if on day one,
<v Speaker 2>So they're getting rid of all of their games. There's
<v Speaker 2>literally no reason to buy an Xbox. Their whole marketing
<v Speaker 2>brand right now is everything is an Xbox. You've seen that. Yep,
<v Speaker 2>your phone's an Xbox, Your your tablet's at xraab with.
<v Speaker 2>So what's the so why even buy an Xbox don't.
<v Speaker 2>I say this, by the way, as a huge at
<v Speaker 2>Xbox advocate, as somebody who for the longest time didn't
<v Speaker 2>even want to stop buying PlayStation. I would have a PlayStation,
<v Speaker 2>but I would buy only exclusives, and I would buy
<v Speaker 2>all my third parties on an Xbox.
<v Speaker 1>I see a wall of three sixty.
<v Speaker 2>Games, There's a whole wall right there. You can't see,
<v Speaker 2>oh this off camera. I would buy those there because
<v Speaker 2>I liked achievements and I was in the ecosystem.
<v Speaker 1>It just got to a point where I was like,
<v Speaker 1>all right, Xbox.
<v Speaker 2>Just ain't it anymore. I'm going to have to start
<v Speaker 2>just buying it on PlayStation instead. When it comes to
<v Speaker 2>the non Nintendo Xbox wasn't.
<v Speaker 1>Microsoft, it would have been like Dreamcast, it would have
<v Speaker 1>been gone Xbox.
<v Speaker 2>I think one of Xbox's issues is they Microsoft has
<v Speaker 2>so much money to throw at things, it doesn't matter
<v Speaker 2>if they lose any So there's no like pressure on
<v Speaker 2>them to be good because they can mess up one
<v Speaker 2>hundred times and still be at one of America's one
<v Speaker 2>of the world's most richest companies.
<v Speaker 1>So from the years that I've known Microsoft or Microsoft right,
<v Speaker 1>from the years, I've seen how they do things. They're
<v Speaker 1>extremely anti consumer on everything, and they're pretending in my head,
<v Speaker 1>I can you know you can you know? Correct me?
<v Speaker 1>But I feel like game pass is going to be
<v Speaker 1>one of the worst things that ever happen to games
<v Speaker 1>if they really really start to get their hands on
<v Speaker 1>more studios, because I honestly like what we had rare,
<v Speaker 1>right they bought out rare? Yeah, what games do we get? None? No,
<v Speaker 1>see thieves.
<v Speaker 2>People in chat are saying like, calm down, Xbox shale
<v Speaker 2>and then listing like the game's Xbox are giving Hey,
<v Speaker 2>if you're trust me, if you're in the chat, you're
<v Speaker 2>an Xbox fan and you're happy that they just shut
<v Speaker 2>down Perfect Doc and Eva Wilde's You're one hundred percent
<v Speaker 2>allowed to have that opinion. But we are upset by
<v Speaker 2>it because we like Xbox, and we like rat and
<v Speaker 2>we like video games.
<v Speaker 1>It's just a I just think it's a bad thing
<v Speaker 1>for the industry overle it is terrible. Like I also
<v Speaker 1>like to give a lot of shit to Nintendo.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, by the way, if you're defending this in chat,
<v Speaker 2>and I see nor Beach is defending it, I don't
<v Speaker 2>understand how. I hope you've never said one bad thing
<v Speaker 2>about Nintendo. Because I'm sad insane.
<v Speaker 1>Here, I'm gonna go. I'm gonna circle back to I
<v Speaker 1>like to give a shit to Nintendo a lot. Uh,
<v Speaker 1>but I don't see Nintendo shutting down. I don't know
<v Speaker 1>how many studios did Nintendo buying shut down. I don't
<v Speaker 1>even think they did. They've done that, and they don't
<v Speaker 1>do mass layoffs of thousand plus people. Instead, they'll have
<v Speaker 1>the CEO way back when take a freaking pay cut.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah no, I agree that CEOs have taken then that
<v Speaker 2>to shield Nintendo. Their CEOs have taken pay cuts before
<v Speaker 2>to pay their employees. Someone in chat s j Man says,
<v Speaker 2>hot take firing employees like this is bad.
<v Speaker 1>I agree. Apparently some people in chat don't. I agree.
<v Speaker 2>So someone said barely any games we had Indiana, which
<v Speaker 2>I already said came to PlayStation five. Ole misted immediately avowed, which.
<v Speaker 1>Do we want? Do we It's okay, do we want?
<v Speaker 1>It's a seven out of ten out Outer world which
<v Speaker 1>I believe came out like ten years ago, but out
<v Speaker 1>of Worlds.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, yeah, it's pretty old. Yeah, I mean there's a
<v Speaker 2>sequel coming, which is exciting. It's probably the market player
<v Speaker 2>you can It's probably the best looking game I've seen
<v Speaker 2>from Xbox in a while. It's also eighty dollars. Why hey,
<v Speaker 2>I heard it's eighty dollars, which is fine, it's a game.
<v Speaker 2>And then the Medieval game, which.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, that Kingdom Come Deliverance.
<v Speaker 2>It definitely did happen. That wasn't That was everywhere?
<v Speaker 1>Oh me evil game. I'm appreciate.
<v Speaker 2>Maybe that is what they meant, but I think they
<v Speaker 2>meant that without the guy with the skull, the cartoon
<v Speaker 2>character skull guy. Medieval there was like a remake of
<v Speaker 2>an old PlayStation game.
<v Speaker 1>Oh are you talking about You're talking about Oblivion? No, No,
<v Speaker 1>I don't know.
<v Speaker 2>The game is called medi Evil. I'm pretty sure. Oh
<v Speaker 2>and they also said Doom, which obviously is not.
<v Speaker 1>It's out for everything. Yeah, everything.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, they might have been missing the point in what
<v Speaker 2>I was trying to say.
<v Speaker 1>Look, I grew up with Xbox though, like that was
<v Speaker 1>like my online days before, like after counter Strike, I
<v Speaker 1>was playing Halo two on the on the original Xbox
<v Speaker 1>with the Duke and then three sixty and then seeing
<v Speaker 1>this now with all the nonsense that they do, I
<v Speaker 1>don't know, this is one. It ain't the same company anymore.
<v Speaker 2>Two oh May Medieval was PlayStation, so I don't know
<v Speaker 2>what they meant.
<v Speaker 1>I don't know. I was confused.
<v Speaker 2>That Personal Set Perfect Doc was not a game. They
<v Speaker 2>mismanaged seven years and they only had a beta. Yeah,
<v Speaker 2>that's how game development works sometimes. Also with Xbox, that's
<v Speaker 2>definitely how it works because everything is mismanaged, including Halo
<v Speaker 2>was extremely to this day mismanaged. Polsh released is mismanaged Halo.
<v Speaker 1>Do you know how excited this is not.
<v Speaker 2>We're not giving a hot take, by the way, No,
<v Speaker 2>this is how. This is how things are and how
<v Speaker 2>ninety percent of the gaming industry and consumers actually see
<v Speaker 2>the situation. Like I was, We're not giving some crazy
<v Speaker 2>off pace take, Dude.
<v Speaker 1>They released Halo Infinite and it was poised to be
<v Speaker 1>one of the best like games, and then they dropped
<v Speaker 1>the ball by literally adding like what for a freaking
<v Speaker 1>playlists and only adding it way later down the line
<v Speaker 1>when all the high died off. Please, I don't even
<v Speaker 1>want to go into Halo. No, I agree.
<v Speaker 2>Also, out of Words is looking good, but it is
<v Speaker 2>obsidian and avowed was pretty average. So let's wait and
<v Speaker 2>see what it looks like when it comes out.
<v Speaker 1>Oh oh, out of okay, out of world the original
<v Speaker 1>out of Worlds we're talking about. And then there's out
<v Speaker 1>of Worlds too.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah looks good. Yeah, it does look good. I like
<v Speaker 2>the first Outwords might actually be a good one from Xbox.
<v Speaker 1>So the first one I really, Yeah, it was good.
<v Speaker 2>But let's wait and see, right, Let's wait and see
<v Speaker 2>a Fable even comes out, because if you want to
<v Speaker 2>talk about mismanaged, how long has that been in development?
<v Speaker 2>For Where's Legends, Where's Where's Anything?
<v Speaker 1>Fable? The last Fable game of out was about Fable three.
<v Speaker 2>The only reason I have any faith in Fable is
<v Speaker 2>that it's being developed by Playground. Okay, but that doesn't
<v Speaker 2>mean anything on the Xbox It's brand right now, because
<v Speaker 2>even three four three, yeah, three four three Studios couldn't
<v Speaker 2>even get out of Halo on the Xbox's brand with
<v Speaker 2>all of the money and resources in the world. So
<v Speaker 2>I really don't know what's happening at Xbox in general.
<v Speaker 1>I think maybe the direction is just all over the place.
<v Speaker 1>And also like if you're constantly cycling through teams, no
<v Speaker 1>one can get used to an engine. That was that
<v Speaker 1>was Halo's problem. That yeah, it was exactly Halo's problem.
<v Speaker 1>If you're going to go through hundreds and hundreds of
<v Speaker 1>developers and they're all getting used to a whole engine,
<v Speaker 1>you have to literally train them from the ground up
<v Speaker 1>to learn this new engine.
<v Speaker 2>Someone said, state of d K three, Where is it?
<v Speaker 2>I don't even know when that was supposed.
<v Speaker 1>To come out, But I don't know.
<v Speaker 2>People are mentioning Grounded two. I didn't even know that
<v Speaker 2>was a thing. Yeah, I know, yeah, Grounded two, ground
<v Speaker 2>to two is. I can't imagine Grounded one did very well.
<v Speaker 1>I think it did decent. I know a good chunk
<v Speaker 1>of people on my friends is, but it was never
<v Speaker 1>really something I went into.
<v Speaker 2>I tried playing it when it was in Beata, and
<v Speaker 2>I liked it, but no one wanted to play with
<v Speaker 2>me and the Spider Skid. I would play it if
<v Speaker 2>it came to switch, though. I wonder what the irachnophobia
<v Speaker 2>mode looks like Fable's never coming at this point. I
<v Speaker 2>Fable is one of my favorite game series of all time.
<v Speaker 1>I loved Fable two. I loved all three of them. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>all three was great.
<v Speaker 2>I played you know, I played three before the Internet,
<v Speaker 2>and I loved it, and I didn't I didn't know
<v Speaker 2>people were so upset by that game until life.
<v Speaker 1>I loved doing the Landlords with me too. It was like.
<v Speaker 2>I had no issue. I mean, I was probably like,
<v Speaker 2>what eighteen when it came out. I don't even know,
<v Speaker 2>maybe younger. I don't even know. I do remember being
<v Speaker 2>annoyed by the ending, but feeling like it was my fault,
<v Speaker 2>even though looking back it wasn't. The ending does this
<v Speaker 2>crazy time skip out of nowhere?
<v Speaker 1>Oh yeah, you're right.
<v Speaker 2>It's just like the game just ends before you're ready.
<v Speaker 2>And yeah, I just remember being really annoyed. I was like,
<v Speaker 2>wait what, But I played through a second time when
<v Speaker 2>I prepared for it. The next there's like a there's
<v Speaker 2>like a day count, like you only have so many
<v Speaker 2>days left near the end, yeah, and then it just ends.
<v Speaker 2>But it also is like it'll say you have one
<v Speaker 2>hundred days, ninety nine days ninety eight days. Seventy days
<v Speaker 2>was in the pause menu. No, it just it just happens.
<v Speaker 2>And then it's like, oh, wait, I have seventy days.
<v Speaker 2>I thought I had. You had like and then it's like,
<v Speaker 2>you have sixty five days. I'm like, wait, I just
<v Speaker 2>missed five days. You have twenty days?
<v Speaker 1>How many days do I have left?
<v Speaker 2>And then all of a sudden you have to get
<v Speaker 2>rich in the game, right, and like manage your kingdom.
<v Speaker 2>I just remember this is what I remember. I could
<v Speaker 2>be wrong, but I remember having something like seven days
<v Speaker 2>left and then the next day was the end of
<v Speaker 2>the game, and I was like, those days meant nothing,
<v Speaker 2>all right, cool? I really like Xbox. It's so annoying.
<v Speaker 2>I know, I'm a Nintendo guy, so maybe there's like
<v Speaker 2>a preconceived notion, but I always try and preface, preface
<v Speaker 2>any conversation about Xbox or PlayStation with I love Xbox
<v Speaker 2>and I love PlayStation. I'm disappointed by Xbox, and I yeah,
<v Speaker 2>even the execs that used to work at the company
<v Speaker 2>are disappointed by Xbox.
<v Speaker 1>You know they should be like, it is so disappointing.
<v Speaker 2>You look at what we used to have with Xbox
<v Speaker 2>to what we have now, they've lost complete sight of
<v Speaker 2>what makes gaming on their consoles great. They don't value
<v Speaker 2>first party exclusives. Most of the stuff they put out
<v Speaker 2>is average to bad, and they barely put anything out
<v Speaker 2>despite buying out loads of studios, and they they're seemingly
<v Speaker 2>giving up or making their own hardware as well.
<v Speaker 1>I think they're so salty about getting rid of Don Matric.
<v Speaker 2>I don't know what it is, but as a big
<v Speaker 2>Xbox fan growing up in loving Xbox one and loving
<v Speaker 2>Xbox three sixty, not Xbox one, but Xbox one, the
<v Speaker 2>original Xbox.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, and they do being an app.
<v Speaker 2>It was Dead Day one with Xbox one.
<v Speaker 1>I played Rise, I played Dead Rising three, I did two.
<v Speaker 1>I kind of liked that. I kind of liked it too.
<v Speaker 2>I tried to convince myself that Rise wasn't bad.
<v Speaker 1>I didn't play Rise.
<v Speaker 2>It was like two hours long.
<v Speaker 1>I I remember, uh, watching my cousin, I'm like, oh,
<v Speaker 1>I'll skip this one. Yeah, it wasn't. It wasn't the best,
<v Speaker 1>and uh yeah, I don't know. It's just I don't know.
<v Speaker 2>I want better. Halo sucked. I want a better Halo.
<v Speaker 1>Halo was terrible.
<v Speaker 2>I think they're doing a great job with Gears of
<v Speaker 2>War because I really liked the last Gears of War.
<v Speaker 2>No one else really seemed to it sold poor.
<v Speaker 1>You want you want my prediction Halo?
<v Speaker 4>What?
<v Speaker 1>We're not going to get a new like original Halo.
<v Speaker 1>We're gonna get Halo three remastered or remake. Yeah, yeah,
<v Speaker 1>maybe that's right.
<v Speaker 2>Well Halo Halo won remake because it's been twenty five
<v Speaker 2>years or something.
<v Speaker 1>No, they're gonna do three.
<v Speaker 2>We need to get out of here because you don't
<v Speaker 2>have much time. It's almost eight. Oh my god, I
<v Speaker 2>don't know if you even have time for the bonus
<v Speaker 2>episode we have timeless.
<v Speaker 1>Just do the go get out of here. I'm gonna do.
<v Speaker 1>I'll see you in the bonus. You know what I
<v Speaker 1>didn't do? Bingle, I didn't. You got to talk for me? Hello, Hi,
<v Speaker 1>I'm trying to talk now because you're playing the song.
<v Speaker 2>Where's yours?
<v Speaker 1>Oh? There it is? Wait? Hold on, wait, hold on, wait,
<v Speaker 1>hold on, what's happening? Wait? Hold on? Wait, hold on?
<v Speaker 1>Talk Hey? Oh hey, hello, I'm talking. I'm trying to talk.

<v Speaker 2>I was so caught up with with Logan. I never
<v Speaker 2>said where Kim was, did I or didn't I Kim
<v Speaker 2>had no sleep last night. It was it was baby
<v Speaker 2>night last night. We both had no sleep. But then
<v Speaker 2>because I had to work today, once it hit six am,
<v Speaker 2>I just went and slept on my own until like ten,
<v Speaker 2>and then Kim's mom came over to look after the
<v Speaker 2>baby like she does so we can do the podcast.
<v Speaker 2>And I told Kim, I was like, honestly, girl, if
<v Speaker 2>you just have to sleep, just go take a nap.
<v Speaker 2>So she's sleeping right now.
<v Speaker 1>So sorry.
<v Speaker 2>I wanted to have Kim. But hopefully next week stinky
