<v Speaker 1>Hey, everybody's Tuesday, March twenty fourth. Welcome to the Giant BombCast,
<v Speaker 1>Episode nine one hundred and thirty three. I'm your host,
<v Speaker 1>Jan Ohoa joining me COO Captain of the ship. That's right,
<v Speaker 1>he's got his esports jersey on for the only sport
<v Speaker 1>that actually matters, pod racing.
<v Speaker 2>Co Captain of the Ship, Jeff gra I'm happy to
<v Speaker 2>be here, Jan, thank you for having me.
<v Speaker 1>Fantastic. We have the man out on the streets. He's
<v Speaker 1>leading parades, stealing toilet seats, stealing all of our hearts.
<v Speaker 2>Dan reichert, you.
<v Speaker 3>Gotta get me if I pass tragically and young, you
<v Speaker 3>gotta give me a as funeral.
<v Speaker 2>Okay, I would do.
<v Speaker 1>I would give you all sorts of funerals, especially a
<v Speaker 1>jazz funeral.
<v Speaker 2>Uh, thank you, I want that.
<v Speaker 1>Speaking speaking about funerals, he is there to usher you
<v Speaker 1>across the river sticks and he's he doesn't have any ores.
<v Speaker 1>He just got hockey sticks. Jeff Beckler.
<v Speaker 4>Oh, nothing like being introduced with the word funeral. He
<v Speaker 4>called Karen, you were lining there, can't find it. Nevertheless,
<v Speaker 4>happy to be here?
<v Speaker 2>Uh, speaking about happy to be here, he's not because
<v Speaker 2>he's the bird boy of my This is my angry guy,
<v Speaker 2>unhappy face.
<v Speaker 5>I'm man, it's too crowded in an Epcot today? Does
<v Speaker 5>that bug you even if you're not there? I mean,
<v Speaker 5>I mean that was I was projecting, you see. It
<v Speaker 5>was a method acting in.
<v Speaker 2>The shoes of himself.
<v Speaker 1>When I got lost in the scene. Wow, oh my god.
<v Speaker 4>When you're not there to see what the lines are like.
<v Speaker 2>No, there's people sell things like that.
<v Speaker 5>Actually, that will just like like a clock you can
<v Speaker 5>put in your robe, but instead of telling you the time,
<v Speaker 5>it just tells you the wait times for the theme
<v Speaker 5>park rides that you're why, I'm just like, he's just
<v Speaker 5>heard a psychopath and to be a serial killer.
<v Speaker 2>But I find it intriguing.
<v Speaker 5>I was, I was just gonna say, you know, sorry, y.
<v Speaker 1>You know, sometimes you find out answers uh to questions
<v Speaker 1>you didn't know you had. But hey, I'm happy for everyone.
<v Speaker 2>Boys. How's it going? How are thanks monitoring the situation?
<v Speaker 2>You know?
<v Speaker 6>I'm just out here kind of arms folded, just looking around,
<v Speaker 6>seeing what's going around in the world.
<v Speaker 5>Don't like it?
<v Speaker 2>Not a fan?
<v Speaker 1>Are you talking about the lines at Epcot or a
<v Speaker 1>different Disney, Yeah.
<v Speaker 5>Don't worry.
<v Speaker 2>They're gonna send an ice to help with this.
<v Speaker 5>Flying this week, let's go.
<v Speaker 3>I was, I was at the airport yesterday. Oh boy, Yeah,
<v Speaker 3>there's some stuff going on.
<v Speaker 2>There, especially, I guess that is what I'm hearing.
<v Speaker 3>The cool New Orleans was four hour lines right before
<v Speaker 3>I went. I guess, uh, yeah, it got better. They
<v Speaker 3>opened up pre check again and all that. It so
<v Speaker 3>so I got pretty lucky there with with the people
<v Speaker 3>I went with, But it was real bad the day before.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, I was.
<v Speaker 4>I can't say I disagree with you. It appears to
<v Speaker 4>me that we are getting the bad ending, right.
<v Speaker 6>Yeah, we made some choices early on, and someone remembered
<v Speaker 6>those choices, and now we're paying the price.
<v Speaker 4>You know, maybe it wasn't our choices directly, but it
<v Speaker 4>does seem like the world is receiving the bad ending.
<v Speaker 4>Maybe we restart a different save and kind of load
<v Speaker 4>that ship up, and yeah, you can get.
<v Speaker 5>I mean, the bad ending is how we got a
<v Speaker 5>link to the past.
<v Speaker 2>Though.
<v Speaker 6>That's true, right, we know you the hero to die,
<v Speaker 6>m what that's the that's the link storyline where you
<v Speaker 6>guys read your high role historia.
<v Speaker 2>You guys are embarrassing. I look at the pictures. I
<v Speaker 2>look at the pictures.
<v Speaker 3>I own it. I own all those eld very nice illustrations. Yeah, yeah,
<v Speaker 3>the LD the Lord does not matter at all.
<v Speaker 1>Well, I mean, other than the state of the country
<v Speaker 1>and the overall world burning around us. I'm happy to
<v Speaker 1>be here talking with you gents. Absolutely, Yeah, I look
<v Speaker 1>forward to it. I was on the plane Monday and
<v Speaker 1>I was like brimming with excitement of like, oh this
<v Speaker 1>stuff to talk about, games, to talk about stuff. I
<v Speaker 1>want to talk about Gang. I know that I personally
<v Speaker 1>may have somewhat of a Bay Area accent, and I
<v Speaker 1>may bend the English language to my own uses.
<v Speaker 2>Sure, for sure you use that. You know I had
<v Speaker 2>to get involved with that, to get involved with Gang.
<v Speaker 1>Yan Kugler has an interesting regional Bay Area accent that
<v Speaker 1>I'm not one hundred percent where it comes from. I
<v Speaker 1>know where he comes from, right, but in my friends
<v Speaker 1>also from the same area in Oakland, I'm like, huh, interesting.
<v Speaker 6>J And you guys are delivering some pretty cool people.
<v Speaker 6>Ryan Kugler. I've been telling you, I've been texting. I
<v Speaker 6>can't stop doing impressions of Ryan Kugler to myself around
<v Speaker 6>my house.
<v Speaker 2>That's my new book.
<v Speaker 5>To get that.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, yeah, got a shan which I had to bring
<v Speaker 2>it to a theater.
<v Speaker 6>And then Alyssa Liu at the same time as just
<v Speaker 6>the best person to ever live. It's like you guys
<v Speaker 6>are delivering out there. So thank you Bay Area.
<v Speaker 1>For these people we appreciate exactly and I'm hoping to
<v Speaker 1>leach off of that energy. And because I'm on the
<v Speaker 1>other side of the Bay of like, please give me
<v Speaker 1>that I need it. But I bring all this up
<v Speaker 1>to say and that I don't think in my head
<v Speaker 1>the Southern California skater surfer drawl or accent. I always
<v Speaker 1>thought it was dramaticized and over exaggerated in media.
<v Speaker 2>No, I am dead wrong.
<v Speaker 1>We were invited to Kaso Fest and that was held
<v Speaker 1>in Long Beach last weekend. And for folks that don't
<v Speaker 1>know Kaso Kasso, it's made by the same company that
<v Speaker 1>originated Ninja Warrior, so it's Ninja Warrior with skateboards. It's
<v Speaker 1>really fucking sick. They've been doing in Japan for a
<v Speaker 1>couple of years and this is like the first event
<v Speaker 1>they had in the States. There was a game that
<v Speaker 1>they showed off, which is why we were there, or
<v Speaker 1>I was there we'll talk about that video coming out
<v Speaker 1>this week.
<v Speaker 2>It's really fucking shuke.
<v Speaker 5>I'm excited.
<v Speaker 1>But they had announcers going off because you know, when
<v Speaker 1>you're watching Ninja Warrior or MXC Tokeshi's Castle, the commentators
<v Speaker 1>are big part of it. And I was surprised that
<v Speaker 1>they just had the commentators yelling the whole time and
<v Speaker 1>blasting it out to the whole festival because it was
<v Speaker 1>two dudes, two skaters, and man just loved how they
<v Speaker 1>spoke because it was like, yo, JB, big Boyfly is
<v Speaker 1>grinding the rail.
<v Speaker 5>He's good.
<v Speaker 2>I love it.
<v Speaker 1>And then the number one thing they kept saying is like, yo, bro,
<v Speaker 1>I hope he sends it.
<v Speaker 2>Send it, brother, send it? Send that.
<v Speaker 5>Can you give me?
<v Speaker 2>Can you look? I'm old?
<v Speaker 6>Can you help me really understand when I'm supposed to
<v Speaker 6>be saying send it?
<v Speaker 2>Like? Is it when I want someone to do something cool? Yeah? Yeah,
<v Speaker 2>when someone's going for it? Yeah yeah, when someone's going
<v Speaker 2>for it. I hope he sends it all right, yeah,
<v Speaker 2>like I'm not gonna be able to pull this off?
<v Speaker 2>No no, no, no, no, he sends it that sentence.
<v Speaker 4>I think you'll you'll know when the time is right
<v Speaker 4>to say it. I think from the depths like it.
<v Speaker 1>Like if Dan or Mike is playing a soul's game
<v Speaker 1>and like you you they're in the zone. Okay, and
<v Speaker 1>you think this is or if you are running and
<v Speaker 1>this is the run, you would say you send it,
<v Speaker 1>finish it off, you got it.
<v Speaker 2>When I'm beating up Crimson Desert, I'm about to send it.
<v Speaker 2>Here we go, Well, perhaps just understanding it, but you'll
<v Speaker 2>get there. Yeah, yeah, you'll get there. Okay.
<v Speaker 5>Cool.
<v Speaker 3>Speaking of this of the Run, people should watch the
<v Speaker 3>most recent episode.
<v Speaker 2>Yes, yeah, I think so.
<v Speaker 3>Really really a lot of things coalesced at certain points,
<v Speaker 3>heightened drama in different forms.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, I was very happy.
<v Speaker 3>Good phone of friends, Oh.
<v Speaker 2>Good Yeah, good is of many definitions.
<v Speaker 5>Got Yeah, that was not sending it.
<v Speaker 1>You're right, You're right, No he doesn't. But yes, definitely
<v Speaker 1>please check out This is the Run. Who wants to
<v Speaker 1>Bill a Millionaire? Last Saturday? But yeah, video coming out
<v Speaker 1>of my time at Caso, Oh man, it was just
<v Speaker 1>a fucking love skating gang. They gave me a skateboard
<v Speaker 1>and I was like, can I get grip tape or
<v Speaker 1>trucks anywhere here? And they were like, plately, no, We're
<v Speaker 1>only giving you the board. You figure everything else out, idiot, Like, that's.
<v Speaker 5>Half the battle.
<v Speaker 2>But i just want to.
<v Speaker 1>Fucking shred But I'm I'm gonna send it. I'm scared
<v Speaker 1>my ankles are going to turn into dust.
<v Speaker 3>Jane, this sounds like a recipe for ending your running dreams.
<v Speaker 2>You're right, You're right.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, that sounds like up an ankle and not being
<v Speaker 3>able to run.
<v Speaker 5>Yeah. Are you a skater in another life?
<v Speaker 2>Have you?
<v Speaker 4>Did you come up two streets?
<v Speaker 2>Yeah?
<v Speaker 6>Among us, I guess, I'm sorry. I think between you
<v Speaker 6>and Jan, you guys are the most skater coated among us.
<v Speaker 4>Between Sure, I did that for a little bit, and
<v Speaker 4>then I did, like the inline with the plates on
<v Speaker 4>the inline. That's fun, and now it's just uh, you
<v Speaker 4>know ice.
<v Speaker 2>Uh.
<v Speaker 1>With the original giant bomb skate deck that we sold,
<v Speaker 1>I took the one that we in the office, and
<v Speaker 1>I thought, oh, this would be fun to take a
<v Speaker 1>picture of as doing a kickflip. So I stayed way
<v Speaker 1>too long at the CBS Old CBS office after hours
<v Speaker 1>trying to nail a kickflip without trucks. So just the
<v Speaker 1>flat skate deck, no grip tape, and take a picture
<v Speaker 1>of it and nailed it. I still had it then.
<v Speaker 1>I don't think I have it anymore. Okay, yeah, you.
<v Speaker 2>Boys tricky with it.
<v Speaker 1>I I sent it as a skater say.
<v Speaker 4>Sorry to interject one more scathing Uh. Nick Henry from
<v Speaker 4>c NET producer fame Tremendous Skateboarder.
<v Speaker 2>Do you remember him? You might have?
<v Speaker 4>He was in long haired dude looks like looks like
<v Speaker 4>the Jason Uh not sure, it looks like the guy
<v Speaker 4>from Days and Confused, the dude who gets paddled like.
<v Speaker 5>That guy.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, of course all the time. Yeah, of course it's
<v Speaker 2>a great film.
<v Speaker 5>Yeah.
<v Speaker 4>Anyway, Nick, tremendous skateboarder would really it was very shy
<v Speaker 4>about it, and then all of a sudden.
<v Speaker 5>You would just like, hey watch this and just like
<v Speaker 5>tear it up.
<v Speaker 4>You know, like Tim Robinson who's just like shadily a
<v Speaker 4>great skill.
<v Speaker 2>Oh yeah, he's like a skateboarder. He's nasty. Dan.
<v Speaker 1>You will understand this because when you and guy no,
<v Speaker 1>not the popcorn guy, when you and I were understanding
<v Speaker 1>I don't understand popcorn when we were at WrestleMania.
<v Speaker 2>Was it two years ago?
<v Speaker 5>Now?
<v Speaker 2>Yeah?
<v Speaker 1>I just remember the different wrestle media people just being
<v Speaker 1>a culture shock because of like I'm just used to
<v Speaker 1>games media and seeing the film.
<v Speaker 3>Because they're very serious journalistsos and video gun off versus
<v Speaker 3>those guys that come from Columbia.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah yeah, yeah, totally not objectifying any female wrestlers there.
<v Speaker 2>They have a chance press no press.
<v Speaker 1>Uh interesting group of dudes there, right, uh lady, yeah
<v Speaker 1>yeah uh, but but skater media people are fucking punks.
<v Speaker 1>Parentheses positive because everyone is kind of like shoving everyone
<v Speaker 1>else to get out of the way so they can
<v Speaker 1>get their shot, and everyone's nick It's like supreme stickers.
<v Speaker 3>It's great, yeah, jan, but is it like a mosh
<v Speaker 3>pit unwritten you know code where it's like if one
<v Speaker 3>of them got knocked down or drop their camera and
<v Speaker 3>be like, who whoa we got to pick this up?
<v Speaker 3>We got you know, we gotta make.
<v Speaker 1>Sure totally yeah yeah, but I will move you out
<v Speaker 1>of the way or get in the way of your
<v Speaker 1>shot to get sure to get mine.
<v Speaker 2>Very sick.
<v Speaker 1>Also, skaters, it's just so funny to talk to them.
<v Speaker 1>Everyone's so oddly friendly. As soon as I told some
<v Speaker 1>dudes I was next to, it's.
<v Speaker 2>Like, oh, you're from the Bay, you ever bomb a hill.
<v Speaker 1>Brother, No, I don't bomb hills because that's too scary.
<v Speaker 1>Oh Ship, do you know Steven no last name? No
<v Speaker 1>illusion that steven S. I have to explain. The payer
<v Speaker 1>is kind of big dude. It's like, oh Ship, I
<v Speaker 1>mean like he bombs hills all the fucking time.
<v Speaker 2>Have you ever met him?
<v Speaker 5>No?
<v Speaker 2>I haven't. Oh fuck anyway, anyone else.
<v Speaker 4>Have you ever see uh you ever see that movie Airborne?
<v Speaker 2>Yes?
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, right back, yeah that one?
<v Speaker 6>Yeah, yeah, with what's his name, Seth Seth Green?
<v Speaker 2>Yeah right yeah Green Black is in it.
<v Speaker 5>Yeah. I think we had a little hill in our
<v Speaker 5>neighborhood that we also called Devil's Back, but rode our
<v Speaker 5>bikes out at it partecularly that it was cool.
<v Speaker 2>It is.
<v Speaker 4>It is seemingly like inaccessible, Like I think I have
<v Speaker 4>like a four eighty copy of Oh Buddy, I got
<v Speaker 4>it on.
<v Speaker 5>My my Plex server.
<v Speaker 2>I'll hook you up, don't worry. I need that. I
<v Speaker 2>need that.
<v Speaker 5>Okay, yeah, you get my hands on that video. It
<v Speaker 5>was definitely like a Hollywood video movie for me or something.
<v Speaker 5>Man just rented that all the time.
<v Speaker 2>Watched it all the time on TV. Yeah.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, and there's a big hockey part of it too,
<v Speaker 4>that I always found ridiculous. Uh huh uh tremendous move.
<v Speaker 1>Also, there was a mosh pit, of course, because it
<v Speaker 1>was kind of a music mini music festival. Uh. And
<v Speaker 1>there were children in the mosh pit too, and uh.
<v Speaker 1>All the adults were respectful of the children, but the
<v Speaker 1>kids were not. Because I didn't get this on camera,
<v Speaker 1>but a kid just was saw everyone moshing and thrashing
<v Speaker 1>and thought, oh, I can actually hit hit people.
<v Speaker 3>And then Mike NAUGHTI have you ever been in the
<v Speaker 3>mosh pit?
<v Speaker 5>No, I see them, man, I'm like, where do you
<v Speaker 5>see them? Bud concert? Yeah, I'm a concert. Have you
<v Speaker 5>seen a moshpit? Iron Maiden? There was one the one time.
<v Speaker 5>It was not the strongest one.
<v Speaker 2>You're the youngest guy there. You could kick some ass. Yeah, right, Mike,
<v Speaker 2>I can relate.
<v Speaker 3>I go to some concerts ocasionally with like you know, Bancos,
<v Speaker 3>to a lot of metal shows and stuff. And I
<v Speaker 3>found myself in the crowd of a knocked loose concert
<v Speaker 3>them and the guy was very clearly he was bigging,
<v Speaker 3>like saying like.
<v Speaker 2>I want a mosh pit starting. I want a circle
<v Speaker 2>pit starting right here.
<v Speaker 3>And this guy was very aggressive and very angry and
<v Speaker 3>I definitely am of the age.
<v Speaker 2>Was like, well, I'll just show myself to go to
<v Speaker 2>the bathroom.
<v Speaker 4>They did that wall of death thing, right, don't they
<v Speaker 4>do that thing where they like split the things.
<v Speaker 2>I got the fuck out of there. Yeah.
<v Speaker 3>I went back and I was talking to a security
<v Speaker 3>guard and a Meddle year shirt about Metal year for.
<v Speaker 2>That old so much better. Yeah. So did this kid die?
<v Speaker 1>No, this kid did a full on haymaker to a
<v Speaker 1>dude's nuts and.
<v Speaker 2>Then he died.
<v Speaker 5>Died.
<v Speaker 1>The parent look mortified and then like lifted his child out. Meanwhile,
<v Speaker 1>the guy's keeled over, but he's still trying to He's
<v Speaker 1>like still like, no, it's cool.
<v Speaker 2>But school was trying to mosh. Yeah.
<v Speaker 5>Sometimes you see like other humans do things and it's like, man,
<v Speaker 5>it's wild. We're like the same thing.
<v Speaker 1>I think that every day totally boys. Uh, everyone else
<v Speaker 1>doing well. I guess it was someone's birthday over the weekend.
<v Speaker 1>It's someone's birthday right now. I talk about the weekend,
<v Speaker 1>and then we're getting to today.
<v Speaker 2>Grub.
<v Speaker 6>Come on, I spent my birthday, So I spent all
<v Speaker 6>Saturday painting the bedroom and then we woke up on Sunday,
<v Speaker 6>and I'm using the word we loosely didn't like the
<v Speaker 6>color of the bedroom, So then I spent all my
<v Speaker 6>birthday and changing into a different color. You could do
<v Speaker 6>that now, Yeah, it turns out like because there's primer
<v Speaker 6>built in it was shine. It was like actually a
<v Speaker 6>really because we were going to do a secon layer anyhow,
<v Speaker 6>and that just turned out to be the second but
<v Speaker 6>you know, the second layer.
<v Speaker 4>But did you go from dark to light or light
<v Speaker 4>to dark?
<v Speaker 6>It was it was kind of a tannish brown and
<v Speaker 6>we kind of went to an equivalent dark green and
<v Speaker 6>it worked fine, Like it's you can't tell it. Yeah,
<v Speaker 6>we should have pushed charter for gray. Yes, listen, I
<v Speaker 6>made my voice in my opinion clear.
<v Speaker 5>I was not.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, no one.
<v Speaker 5>I in the kind of person who has to be
<v Speaker 5>deeply unsatisfied with the current state of a room to
<v Speaker 5>be a time to paint its.
<v Speaker 2>I just almost never going to want to care that much.
<v Speaker 2>I don't know.
<v Speaker 3>I meanwhile, I don't if you quizzed me on like
<v Speaker 3>ten rooms in my house and what color the walls are,
<v Speaker 3>I would fail.
<v Speaker 2>That quizz Yeah, I get I get that.
<v Speaker 3>Actually I don't know what color they're like, here, green,
<v Speaker 3>I'm looking at him. Do you ask me right now
<v Speaker 3>what color the bedroom wall is?
<v Speaker 6>You know it's uh. Steph's love language is acts of service.
<v Speaker 6>I'll just say that I considered this an act of service.
<v Speaker 2>I was really nice girl.
<v Speaker 6>I was doing my part to contribute to making the
<v Speaker 6>house feel more home home Homie for her part. And
<v Speaker 6>then I was happy with the color. I think it
<v Speaker 6>looks great, So it was. I felt pretty satisfied.
<v Speaker 2>When we're done.
<v Speaker 6>We still got to put all the furniture back and
<v Speaker 6>peel down some tape and stuff like that.
<v Speaker 5>But yeah, yeah, that was That was good.
<v Speaker 6>And then I had a chicky biscuit. She made me
<v Speaker 6>a chicken biscuit, which is like one of my favorite
<v Speaker 6>homemade meals. And then and then you know, I got
<v Speaker 6>a She got me a metal detector for when we
<v Speaker 6>go to the beach. I can bring it to the bar.
<v Speaker 6>I can try to bring it to Boston. That'll be fun.
<v Speaker 6>I'm gonna carry it through and.
<v Speaker 2>Just see what Ice thinks. Let's just do that.
<v Speaker 5>Yeah, I mean, what kind of beach are you metal detecting?
<v Speaker 5>And Boston, Mikey, what do you.
<v Speaker 3>Mean find your key back Alar're gonna grass, ye, hold on,
<v Speaker 3>grab something tight back, Alar.
<v Speaker 2>We'll find that yet.
<v Speaker 5>We're going and brace. We'll give you that boat to
<v Speaker 5>clamp bat like they did what they had the amputate
<v Speaker 5>people of the Civil War.
<v Speaker 4>All right, okay, nice visual, thank you anyway, I'm forty.
<v Speaker 2>It was nice. Happy birthday, Happy birthday, thanks guys. Today
<v Speaker 2>to other Jeff as well, you have to say fail,
<v Speaker 2>thank you. Oh sick one of those in a minute. Wow.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, getting old sucks, man. I don't know what else
<v Speaker 4>there's to say now. A metal detector though, So that's
<v Speaker 4>that's okay. Kind of mixed up for it a little bit.
<v Speaker 5>Yeah, yeah, I'm not.
<v Speaker 4>I'm very difficult to buy stuff for. I realized that same.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, same.
<v Speaker 4>I just got some new hockey equipment for myself and
<v Speaker 4>I called it a birthday.
<v Speaker 2>Hey go here we go, get the rolls. What's up.
<v Speaker 2>We'll get lobster rolls this week.
<v Speaker 5>Ever, and you wanted to buy this Kingdom Weight time
<v Speaker 5>sign for one hundred dollars, you could get a real
<v Speaker 5>time look at the wait times of the park. Keep
<v Speaker 5>in mind you also need a five dollar a must
<v Speaker 5>subscription to keep that going.
<v Speaker 4>That's insane that you need a description for the waytime.
<v Speaker 5>I just want, I want.
<v Speaker 6>To like when you're just doesn't the Disney app just
<v Speaker 6>tell you yeah, like but it's not fun.
<v Speaker 1>Okay, but the app follows you around though, versus a
<v Speaker 1>stationary clock.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, this, I guess just cycles. Okay, okay, all right?
<v Speaker 4>Yeah by that this morning, you know, I get text
<v Speaker 4>from the papoule who normally text me, and now people
<v Speaker 4>are just like writing the number.
<v Speaker 5>They're not even saying happy birthday. They're just like forty four.
<v Speaker 4>Down?
<v Speaker 5>Is there?
<v Speaker 1>Like so?
<v Speaker 4>And I just like hearted it, you know, what do
<v Speaker 4>you do? And they're like and I just thumbs down?
<v Speaker 2>You know?
<v Speaker 1>Are they doing like a like any punctuation with it,
<v Speaker 1>like forty four, like an emoji.
<v Speaker 4>Like plain text, not even like a gift of a
<v Speaker 4>forty four doing some sort of animal It's sick. I
<v Speaker 4>have the coolest, most interesting friends.
<v Speaker 1>Imagine you know what, everyone listening and watching live throw
<v Speaker 1>some forty four's in whatever chat you're.
<v Speaker 2>Forty fours?
<v Speaker 5>Wow?
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, more companies automatically wish me a happy birthday now
<v Speaker 4>than actually humans.
<v Speaker 5>The best.
<v Speaker 4>It's fine, though, because that's actually a clear indication of
<v Speaker 4>who I should unsubscribe from right now.
<v Speaker 2>Helpful reminder.
<v Speaker 4>It's like, oh cool this eye center that I went
<v Speaker 4>to eleven years ago, goodbye.
<v Speaker 5>I don't need your emails. Yeah, man, speaking of eye centers,
<v Speaker 5>Like I was going to go to the dentist this
<v Speaker 5>week and they're like, oh, hey, do you have a
<v Speaker 5>nu strenth card. I'm like yeah, it's it's this like
<v Speaker 5>oh we don't take them. Oh, I'm like so like
<v Speaker 5>yet goodbye forever. I guess I just like new dentists.
<v Speaker 5>You know how many years I've cultivated that one dentist relationship.
<v Speaker 5>He listens to my Disney podcast You Grow, and I
<v Speaker 5>was just like, on my own again, you know what
<v Speaker 5>you gotta do.
<v Speaker 3>You can't just like out of network, like there's like
<v Speaker 3>a networking out in work, Like you can't dustry.
<v Speaker 5>It gets weird.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, what do you think? What is it? My? Those
<v Speaker 2>were those words scare me?
<v Speaker 5>All right?
<v Speaker 4>Well you could barely make a sentence out there.
<v Speaker 5>Listen. I think like.
<v Speaker 2>VS Delta, like what do you have? I have? Should
<v Speaker 2>I say? What my insurance is?
<v Speaker 5>Is that?
<v Speaker 2>Okay cares? Yeah that's dock sing. But you're.
<v Speaker 4>Uh, I I think you should call your dentist friend,
<v Speaker 4>and you should collude, you should figure out a thing.
<v Speaker 4>That's how it works. That's the Americana is crime. So
<v Speaker 4>I endorse your colluding with your dentist and be like,
<v Speaker 4>come on, doc, let's work something out. Come on, I'm
<v Speaker 4>good for it.
<v Speaker 5>Do that. I may have already gone off on the
<v Speaker 5>wrong foot on that call because I was also called
<v Speaker 5>that was calling because I missed my appointment because I
<v Speaker 5>thought it was today, and then we're doing our meeting yesterday.
<v Speaker 5>And then I got think like, oh, you missed your
<v Speaker 5>appointment like that appointments tomorrow. Then I'm like, oh, no,
<v Speaker 5>it's not remember I remember you last week, Like, oh, guys,
<v Speaker 5>I might miss the BombCast. Well that I didn't. You're
<v Speaker 5>here here, here, I am, so I think they are.
<v Speaker 5>I think part of them was like, good Lee, we
<v Speaker 5>don't want you anymore.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, you might have used up all those favors there,
<v Speaker 4>Mike can blind.
<v Speaker 5>They know about my like they know about the like
<v Speaker 5>he put this crown here recently. He knows about it.
<v Speaker 5>He knows about my teeth situation. I got to explain
<v Speaker 5>this alter new guy. You gotta talk to him talk.
<v Speaker 3>They do a new extra. I'm in between Dennis right
<v Speaker 3>now too. You just got to get the new comprehensive
<v Speaker 3>extra thing. You gotta put your head in the thing
<v Speaker 3>and bite the little guy, and then you gotta do
<v Speaker 3>the bite wings like.
<v Speaker 7>The way to invest I just I had a good
<v Speaker 7>I mean, I already lost one dentance because he like
<v Speaker 7>accidentally broke his note compete and wasn't allowed to practice.
<v Speaker 5>For a few years. So I had to like go
<v Speaker 5>somewhere else. Yeah, he like broke off from like a
<v Speaker 5>dentist syndicate and his new office was nine miles away
<v Speaker 5>instead of ten.
<v Speaker 2>The cartels are very violent. You gotta watch that right
<v Speaker 2>right right, Yeah, Okay, I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Didn't need
<v Speaker 2>to get all up about tennis stuff.
<v Speaker 1>No, no, it's okay. This This is the band section
<v Speaker 1>is where we not but talk about miscllaneous.
<v Speaker 4>There's that there's something I know Larry David did this bit,
<v Speaker 4>and I do find myself aligning with him ninety nine
<v Speaker 4>percent of the time. What, No, I know, weird, but
<v Speaker 4>the birthday call, Like, I'm I'm sure that is the
<v Speaker 4>thing most people agree with. Like, I'm sorry, I just
<v Speaker 4>don't want to talk to anybody today. I'll answer call.
<v Speaker 6>Back of our I agree, but I don't. I disagree
<v Speaker 6>that ever, most people agree with that. I think that
<v Speaker 6>we might be on a little bit of an island
<v Speaker 6>and like we have a plenty of people that agree
<v Speaker 6>with us. I think a lot of people are like,
<v Speaker 6>I want to get mine on my birthday.
<v Speaker 4>Yes, I would rather impress me for sure, Like give
<v Speaker 4>me a text that that's great because the text is
<v Speaker 4>the thought, right, and that's all that matters. It's just
<v Speaker 4>the thought you called me. We're both wasting seventeen minutes.
<v Speaker 6>Which think about people posted on your Facebook happy birthday
<v Speaker 6>and even.
<v Speaker 4>Right, I mean that's yeah, but you know what, it's
<v Speaker 4>just such a it's so it begs you.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, it tells you to do it. Yeah.
<v Speaker 5>Right. When I had.
<v Speaker 4>Facebook, that felt like such a shallow gesture.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah.
<v Speaker 3>I used to do a fun Facebook gimmick where I
<v Speaker 3>would just change every day. I would change my birthday
<v Speaker 3>to the current day and see how many days in
<v Speaker 3>a row the same people would earn it wish me
<v Speaker 3>happy birthday before they figured it out. And most people
<v Speaker 3>just wouldn't figure it out. I think that twenty times
<v Speaker 3>in a row, done this every day of the week.
<v Speaker 5>Yeah, that was like getting birthday calls here. Yeah, you
<v Speaker 5>might believe it or not. It's just me, Well today's
<v Speaker 5>my day, motherfucker.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah.
<v Speaker 5>Some people too who frankly, like you know, they moved
<v Speaker 5>out of town, and I'm probably not going to get
<v Speaker 5>a call from him on any day but by birthday anymore.
<v Speaker 2>So I'll take it.
<v Speaker 3>Okay, all right, all right, you know I will call
<v Speaker 3>call my sisters and my parents on their birthday.
<v Speaker 2>Is that not enough? That's good? That's good. Okay, okay,
<v Speaker 2>that's good.
<v Speaker 3>It was it was your friend of mine, Mary Kisch's
<v Speaker 3>birthday also, yeah right, goaty. So it's celebrating with her
<v Speaker 3>and a bunch of a bunch of old game spot
<v Speaker 3>friends in New Orleans. And it was great. Had a
<v Speaker 3>good time there. Uh yeah, nothing nothing too crazy. I mean,
<v Speaker 3>just kind of bumming around New Orleans for a weekend
<v Speaker 3>in a bunch of spots. It's interesting because I I
<v Speaker 3>kind of took the lead because it was my sixth
<v Speaker 3>time there, so I kind of like put together the
<v Speaker 3>whole plan and like I like to like mix it
<v Speaker 3>up where it's like, okay, we'll do some fancy dinners
<v Speaker 3>and some kind of like dive places. And stuff, and
<v Speaker 3>it was another great reminder that like fancy doesn't always
<v Speaker 3>equal better.
<v Speaker 5>You know.
<v Speaker 3>The first night we went to this place, Brennan's in
<v Speaker 3>the French Quarter that you know very it's been around forever.
<v Speaker 3>They like invented the bananas foster and they'll tell you
<v Speaker 3>the whole story while they're making it and all this stuff.
<v Speaker 3>And it was very expensive, very expensive, and it was
<v Speaker 3>like it was objectively like good food for sure. But
<v Speaker 3>we went to a few places and it seemed like
<v Speaker 3>the universal favorite was this place I always go to
<v Speaker 3>go to called Coops un Decatur, and it is just
<v Speaker 3>a divey place. It doesn't take reservations. Our waiter was
<v Speaker 3>like this, you felt like David tel Like he talked
<v Speaker 3>like it. He yelled at us if any of us
<v Speaker 3>brought our phones out, he like berated us and things
<v Speaker 3>like that. He was like a And it was just
<v Speaker 3>gumbo and jambalaya, and it was like a fifth of
<v Speaker 3>the price of the fancier places, and it seemed to
<v Speaker 3>be the like runaway favorite from everyone. So it's like yeah,
<v Speaker 3>it's yeah, it's gonna try a variety of things, but
<v Speaker 3>sometimes you know, just go with like the little dive place.
<v Speaker 2>They'll be the best one.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah yeah, oh special shouts out to a GB member
<v Speaker 1>l Paolo Loco for a long list of Long Beach recommendations.
<v Speaker 1>Long Beach is cute, y'all. It's a nice little beach town.
<v Speaker 1>But he recommended this very grungy dive bar that's sold
<v Speaker 1>very fantastic pizza. And then I didn't because my brain
<v Speaker 1>is poisoned by San Francisco prices. I thought twenty dollars, Oh,
<v Speaker 1>that's gonna be a small pizza for one person.
<v Speaker 2>No, it was.
<v Speaker 1>It was like a medium sized pizza that I felt
<v Speaker 1>judged for eating by myself.
<v Speaker 2>Dude, Hell yeah, all right.
<v Speaker 1>Uh, you know, beaches have sand, and you know what
<v Speaker 1>else has sand? Deserts and a game that has occupied
<v Speaker 1>a lot of time on the internet, brow One Crimson Dessert,
<v Speaker 1>everyone's favorite game.
<v Speaker 5>We're all clamoring to talk about it today.
<v Speaker 2>Guys.
<v Speaker 1>I'm so excited to hear what everyone thinks. Uh, what's
<v Speaker 1>up to all my CDs out there?
<v Speaker 5>First, I just want to make clear that if you
<v Speaker 5>like this game and we don't, are not liking it
<v Speaker 5>is as you suspected, a personal attack on you.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, I want you to feel bad. That is what
<v Speaker 2>I'm going for.
<v Speaker 1>Especially if you have an anime avatar photo. Okay, of course, yes,
<v Speaker 1>definitely person it's bullying.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, what's everyone's investment profile at the banks in Crimson Desert.
<v Speaker 3>That's a real thing, Yes it is.
<v Speaker 6>It's kind of thing that would get me excited, but
<v Speaker 6>but it just doesn't function the way I wanted to know.
<v Speaker 2>Whatever. That's the story of this game.
<v Speaker 5>Boy. Yeah, I played three hours of this game Friday evening,
<v Speaker 5>which pretty short as far as launcho thingies go. Bad name,
<v Speaker 5>But anyway, go ahead, we'll try something else next time.
<v Speaker 2>We'll just keep cycling. Well.
<v Speaker 5>You know, there are so many things that I could
<v Speaker 5>get over or could be generous about.
<v Speaker 2>Like the heavy movement that you guys have talked.
<v Speaker 5>About before is absolutely there. Yeah, and it's even heavier
<v Speaker 5>than the games I equate that to, like some like
<v Speaker 5>like Assassin's Cree three or Red Dead Redemption two, and
<v Speaker 5>I can kind of get over that stuff I played
<v Speaker 5>games like that.
<v Speaker 6>They're also updating and changing this stuff constantly, so it
<v Speaker 6>feels a little bit different than it didn't even win.
<v Speaker 5>You played, Okay, Yeah, so that part's wild. The game does,
<v Speaker 5>in fact look really pretty sometimes I actually thought the
<v Speaker 5>combat felt pretty good and visceral.
<v Speaker 2>When I was doing that, it was kind of just.
<v Speaker 5>Quest design was a big thing that was really throwing
<v Speaker 5>me off. I even like in an MMO right, which
<v Speaker 5>is a very kind of like request kind of just hey,
<v Speaker 5>go talk to this person. I'll go kill this wreck,
<v Speaker 5>go talk to this person. Usually like a person would
<v Speaker 5>tell me to do that. It was really weird in
<v Speaker 5>this game, especially one of these games, to just kind
<v Speaker 5>of be in a town and just have the UY
<v Speaker 5>say go over there, someone's in trouble. I'm like, how
<v Speaker 5>do I know that? Okay, go there, like go talk
<v Speaker 5>to this kid now over there? Why am I doing that?
<v Speaker 2>Because kid game told me to? What game?
<v Speaker 5>Right? Then all this happened. Suddenly I'm in this you know,
<v Speaker 5>so it's doing all this and it kind of feels
<v Speaker 5>like a Skyrimore Witcher. Suddenly I'm in the sky and
<v Speaker 5>the Sweating Islands and they give me the god handability
<v Speaker 5>from Tears of the Kingdom and have me jump off
<v Speaker 5>and then for just like fifteen minut and it's kind
<v Speaker 5>of like Tears of the Kingdom except now I'm back
<v Speaker 5>on the ground. I don't know how to go up again.
<v Speaker 5>I could turn to a crow for three seconds. I
<v Speaker 5>have the god hand. It doesn't interact with anything. So
<v Speaker 5>you know, I'm going through the main quest and I'm like, yeah, like,
<v Speaker 5>this is obviously not doing a ton for me. The
<v Speaker 5>story is nothing. I don't even really know what's happening.
<v Speaker 5>I'm like a mercenary or I'm in a group. Most
<v Speaker 5>of my group's dead. And then a wizard summoned me
<v Speaker 5>to his library to be like, oh, there's many worlds.
<v Speaker 5>I'm like, oh, no, I'm multiverse and he's like, yep,
<v Speaker 5>in your world's in trouble anyways.
<v Speaker 2>Bye for now.
<v Speaker 5>A bird turn it to a hot lady, of course,
<v Speaker 5>and she said basically the same thing or I don't know.
<v Speaker 2>She was real cryptic and weird. Go ahead, Jan Mike.
<v Speaker 1>It sounds like you're describing a different type of ad
<v Speaker 1>for a game that I come across on mobile and
<v Speaker 1>a year whatever, like like a fake game of like,
<v Speaker 1>hey here's this bird, lady, you could do that thing
<v Speaker 1>that rips off this many things.
<v Speaker 2>It doesn't sound like a real game, was it. How
<v Speaker 2>did you do with the chimney sweeping combo? Do you
<v Speaker 2>nail it?
<v Speaker 6>Yeah?
<v Speaker 5>I mean that's the other thing too, Like the the
<v Speaker 5>controls are ridiculous, right, the UI the controls are bizarre,
<v Speaker 5>And again like I can kind of I can brute
<v Speaker 5>force that stuff. I could sweep the chimney, what have you.
<v Speaker 5>Even when I was like chopping down trees because I
<v Speaker 5>got an axe for me, He's like, Okay, this is
<v Speaker 5>maybe kind of neat. But then I was like, Okay,
<v Speaker 5>I'm gonna try to not do the main quest for
<v Speaker 5>a bit. I'm going to see if I can skyrim
<v Speaker 5>this just golf in direction. There's I saw a point
<v Speaker 5>of interest. I saw like this watch tower. So I
<v Speaker 5>go over to this watch tower. I climb up there,
<v Speaker 5>and there's all these people kind of like standing around
<v Speaker 5>and looking at it. You try to talk to them
<v Speaker 5>and they just give you a generic NPC dialogue, So
<v Speaker 5>I don't know what they're doing there.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, yeah, and not just that, it's like you do
<v Speaker 3>generic NBC's and then it'll pop up things like oh
<v Speaker 3>plus five trust gained with this guy and what does
<v Speaker 3>that do?
<v Speaker 2>Right?
<v Speaker 5>And then then like there's literally a pillar on this
<v Speaker 5>town with yellow paint on it. I'm like, well, what
<v Speaker 5>am I supposed to do with this. I try pushing
<v Speaker 5>it again, I try tacking, I try using my god
<v Speaker 5>hand or whatever on it, and nothing happens.
<v Speaker 2>So I'm like, okay, I guess then, and it's not
<v Speaker 2>to be here.
<v Speaker 6>And then it's not like someone tells you like, oh man,
<v Speaker 6>it looks like you don't have the thing, and the
<v Speaker 6>games UI that tells you where to go all the
<v Speaker 6>time doesn't pop it.
<v Speaker 5>Being like you do. You don't have the thing to
<v Speaker 5>do this. It's just dead.
<v Speaker 6>It's unreactive in a way that is bizarre for a
<v Speaker 6>game like this, right, and it.
<v Speaker 3>Is weird, like when you go to the tutorial section
<v Speaker 3>of the thing, where it's like it's literally like implied
<v Speaker 3>that there's a thousand pages of tutorials.
<v Speaker 2>I don't think it's applied.
<v Speaker 6>I think I looked it really, I think it really
<v Speaker 6>is around one thousand pages.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, it'll be like section three hundred is about life,
<v Speaker 3>section two hundred is about control, section four hundred and
<v Speaker 3>like there is page two twelve, two thirteen, two fourteen
<v Speaker 3>within that, you know.
<v Speaker 2>Ye.
<v Speaker 5>At this point, I'm like, okay, maybe it's you know,
<v Speaker 5>because there's all these question marks in the map, there's
<v Speaker 5>these side missions, so I'm like, okay, maybe it's a
<v Speaker 5>what's your three? Like the side missions are really detailed
<v Speaker 5>and good. So I get this wanted poster and I'm
<v Speaker 5>getting kind of excited. It's like, Oh, there's this lady
<v Speaker 5>who hangs around the church. She pretends to be in
<v Speaker 5>trouble and then she murders you. I'm like, okay, I'm
<v Speaker 5>gonna go like investigate the church, look for some clues.
<v Speaker 5>Maybe like she's what she sees me. She's gonna pretend
<v Speaker 5>she's hurt and lure me in. So I'm wondering around
<v Speaker 5>the church looking for her. Then I just go into
<v Speaker 5>the basement and I go at basement and there's a
<v Speaker 5>lady there and she just immediately starts running. I'm like,
<v Speaker 5>I guess that's her. So I just run after her
<v Speaker 5>and eventually like yes, I contact sensitive like grap order
<v Speaker 5>of the ground. And then now my she's just like
<v Speaker 5>ah minacit And now my only interactions are let her
<v Speaker 5>go or beat her.
<v Speaker 2>And I'm like, oh this, like I don't.
<v Speaker 5>Want to let her go. I guess she's probably guilty
<v Speaker 5>at least in this game's logic, right, doesn't seem like
<v Speaker 5>there's a ace attorney style kind of investigation mechanic here.
<v Speaker 5>So I guess I was gonna start punching her in
<v Speaker 5>the face until she lets me carry her to jai. So,
<v Speaker 5>you know, aside from the ick factor of that, I'm like,
<v Speaker 5>what did this have to do with? Why did he
<v Speaker 5>give me this information about her? It made it seem
<v Speaker 5>like I was going at like, you know, figure out
<v Speaker 5>who this lady was, when it just immediately was walk
<v Speaker 5>it to her vicinity and then chase her down and
<v Speaker 5>punch her in the face and take her to jail.
<v Speaker 5>So yeah, I don't know.
<v Speaker 2>Just a three hours in, my impression was not good.
<v Speaker 2>It was not good.
<v Speaker 5>I'm a bit baffled. I'm a bit baffled, Fellas.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, yeah, I saw someone in the chat to say
<v Speaker 3>that they are fifty five hours in and still getting tutorials.
<v Speaker 2>Great.
<v Speaker 6>Yeah, of course with this much stuff in here. Yes,
<v Speaker 6>so I want jen, you were going to say something, okay,
<v Speaker 6>I often.
<v Speaker 1>Well, I was gonna ask Dan Grebb, I want to
<v Speaker 1>know how much playtime y'all have. I have about the
<v Speaker 1>same as Mikey, and it just definitely is not for
<v Speaker 1>me because of how heavy and.
<v Speaker 2>Clunky it is.
<v Speaker 1>It feels like what my experiences of playing an MMO
<v Speaker 1>is if there is absolutely no one else around.
<v Speaker 6>And to be clear, the update does address some of that.
<v Speaker 6>I don't think it changes enough to change your opinion
<v Speaker 6>on that. I think it's gonna change change some people's opinion.
<v Speaker 6>I think the way you're talking about it is how
<v Speaker 6>I feel.
<v Speaker 5>I don't think the update would affect you.
<v Speaker 2>Sure, Okay.
<v Speaker 3>To me, it's a lot of like everything I complained
<v Speaker 3>about with Red Dead two is here times ten in
<v Speaker 3>this game. But even at my most or I hate
<v Speaker 3>Red Dead two, I did acknowledge there were really great
<v Speaker 3>things about it.
<v Speaker 2>It's craft story and things like that.
<v Speaker 3>It's a crafted work like it's it just was not
<v Speaker 3>for me at the time, and I did kind of
<v Speaker 3>come around on some of that, and I definitely don't
<v Speaker 3>hate that game now. But this is like all the
<v Speaker 3>worst parts or the parts that I hated the most
<v Speaker 3>initially about Red Dead two without any of the redeeming
<v Speaker 3>qualities of it.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah.
<v Speaker 3>To me, it's like, you know, you'll occasionally see those
<v Speaker 3>clips of like some really shitty looking things that's not
<v Speaker 3>even really a game where it's like, hey, I made
<v Speaker 3>this entire game, oh man toast. Yeah, yeah, Yeah, it's
<v Speaker 3>just and it's like some GTA looking thing that doesn't
<v Speaker 3>even look like a playable game or anything, but it's
<v Speaker 3>oh graphically well, look at this, it felt like it
<v Speaker 3>was made by AI. Like every element of it just
<v Speaker 3>seem like a bunch of standard off corners, a bunch
<v Speaker 3>of ideas that we're just kind of thrown in in
<v Speaker 3>no quality. I mean, it's not like it's poor. If
<v Speaker 3>it works, the game works, not like the big jankie
<v Speaker 3>glitchy mess or anything like that. It's just it's slighty
<v Speaker 3>quantity over quality for sure.
<v Speaker 6>Yeah, I think you guys have touched it on, like
<v Speaker 6>a lot of the things that have Like, as I've
<v Speaker 6>played twelve to fifteen ish hours now, I'm trying to
<v Speaker 6>like I'm like in I think I'm at the beginning
<v Speaker 6>of chapter four. It's starting to open up more. I
<v Speaker 6>think the big thing for me is every single thing
<v Speaker 6>I've done up to this point has felt so thoroughly
<v Speaker 6>thoughtless from the developer side, so undesigned, never considering what
<v Speaker 6>it's like to actually be the person playing this, because
<v Speaker 6>they just want to add that thing from the game
<v Speaker 6>they just played.
<v Speaker 5>They just played Zelda.
<v Speaker 6>They're gonna add that thing. They just played Red Dead,
<v Speaker 6>They're gonna add that thing. They just play Assassin Screen,
<v Speaker 6>They're gonna add that thing. It's that over and over
<v Speaker 6>and so even once I do start like getting off
<v Speaker 6>the Beaten pat that main quest is garbage trash.
<v Speaker 2>It's really very, very bad.
<v Speaker 6>Like it hasn't gotten better at one point, Like like
<v Speaker 6>you get to a boss fight eventually. The bosses are
<v Speaker 6>frustrating because they'll attack you and you'll try to dodge roll.
<v Speaker 2>Like in any game, and.
<v Speaker 6>You have to like preload the role because if you
<v Speaker 6>don't preload before he attacks, you're not gonna be able
<v Speaker 6>to roll out of the way in time because the
<v Speaker 6>game just is bad to play. And then the thing
<v Speaker 6>you learned from that boss fight is one of the
<v Speaker 6>most insulting upgrades I got in a game where it's like, hey,
<v Speaker 6>if you get hit, now you can do a roll
<v Speaker 6>away after taking damage. It's like that was the big
<v Speaker 6>thing here that I want you to know game that
<v Speaker 6>feels terrible to be like, hey, take some damage and
<v Speaker 6>then roll away. Make it easier for me to avoid
<v Speaker 6>damage video game, that's what feels good. Yeah, And it's
<v Speaker 6>just that that's like I'm like, okay, I'm at this
<v Speaker 6>boss fight. Now I'm still feeling this way. I need
<v Speaker 6>to probably get off the speeding path, let me go
<v Speaker 6>try some other stuff. And then I'm like, okay, let
<v Speaker 6>me go cause some mayhem in this world. And then
<v Speaker 6>so oh, this crime and punishment system is also just
<v Speaker 6>it's broken in terms of being an enjoyable thing to
<v Speaker 6>interact with. Where the way it works is you could
<v Speaker 6>do crimes, you could bump into two guards, getting scrapes
<v Speaker 6>with them, just you know, pick up someone else's belongings
<v Speaker 6>or whatever. Actually I've only been able to do that
<v Speaker 6>recently because you can't steal in this game unless you're
<v Speaker 6>wearing a specific item of clothing a bandana, so that's
<v Speaker 6>also strange. Whatever, But so you cause mayhem, and the
<v Speaker 6>game's just like, okay, well we're gonna you did something illegal.
<v Speaker 6>We're just gonna charge you a fine, and that means
<v Speaker 6>the money is gonna get deducted from your in game
<v Speaker 6>account over here, and it's gonna like go into the negative.
<v Speaker 6>So if you want to buy something or purchase something,
<v Speaker 6>which eventually I really needed to because I need to
<v Speaker 6>get into this place that had if you go inside
<v Speaker 6>you're going to get attacked unless you go buy a
<v Speaker 6>ten silver piece of clothing or buy a ten silver
<v Speaker 6>like sort of note from the governor saying you're allowed
<v Speaker 6>to be here. And I'm like, okay, well I have
<v Speaker 6>four right, let me go and do that. And I'm like, wait,
<v Speaker 6>what is that negative sign? And it's just like the
<v Speaker 6>game thinks, here's a good idea. No matter what you're
<v Speaker 6>doing across the entire world, once you go to a
<v Speaker 6>vendor to sell something, they're gonna know you owe money
<v Speaker 6>to the government for breaking the rules somewhere else four
<v Speaker 6>hours ago. That that creates such a putative cycle of
<v Speaker 6>why would I try to do anything fun in this
<v Speaker 6>game because it might punish me and I all it
<v Speaker 6>does is sort of curb my desire to try different things.
<v Speaker 6>There is no like upside of like, okay, I got punished,
<v Speaker 6>let me see if I can maybe get arrested and
<v Speaker 6>then infiltrate the jail get my stuff back. The game
<v Speaker 6>doesn't have any of that. It is so thoroughly thoughtless
<v Speaker 6>that when I do get to the point now where
<v Speaker 6>I'm at where I'm like, I need to go explore
<v Speaker 6>this world and see what's around the corner. My faith
<v Speaker 6>that what's going to be around the corner is like
<v Speaker 6>that is going to that it's going to be worth
<v Speaker 6>it is so low that it's sort of it's broken.
<v Speaker 6>The magic of the game that might have might exist
<v Speaker 6>for other people.
<v Speaker 1>Have there been any interesting like plot points or quest
<v Speaker 1>lines grub that I hold you through at all?
<v Speaker 2>I mean, the plot might be the worst thing.
<v Speaker 5>I mean the main character Cliff clearly, Yeah, he's part
<v Speaker 5>of me. These guys saw Clyde, they thought that was
<v Speaker 5>something I did. Yeah, boy, And I mean, you know
<v Speaker 5>a lot of people say, oh, stick with it, it
<v Speaker 5>gets you know, you'll like it more. And I'm sure
<v Speaker 5>the game maybe gets more interesting after a while. And
<v Speaker 5>every time people do that line, oh, the game really
<v Speaker 5>picks up at their so and so hours, especially when
<v Speaker 5>it's ten or something. I have I have personally never
<v Speaker 5>played a game that I didn't like at all, and
<v Speaker 5>then if they're playing for a while, I was like, oh,
<v Speaker 5>I now I see it. I played games that I've
<v Speaker 5>liked the bit and then have gotten better for sure,
<v Speaker 5>Like Foul Fantasy thirteen gets thrown around a lot like
<v Speaker 5>that game doesn't really start till twenty hours in Yeah,
<v Speaker 5>I mean a lot of that game is still there
<v Speaker 5>in the beginning, and you get it. So I bet
<v Speaker 5>the people who there's a lot of people in chattyman like, oh,
<v Speaker 5>stick with it, it gets so much better. I bet
<v Speaker 5>you liked the game at hour three to some degree
<v Speaker 5>as well more than I did.
<v Speaker 2>Yes, right, yeah, in a different way. And I did.
<v Speaker 5>But you know, you know, even just aside from the
<v Speaker 5>kind of absurdity of being like fifteen hours and it
<v Speaker 5>gets good, I just don't think I am at a
<v Speaker 5>level where it could get much better. I don't know,
<v Speaker 5>there's there's just a it's difficult because when you find
<v Speaker 5>a game as somewhat repulsive as this and I don't know,
<v Speaker 5>like like, oh, I just don't get this at all,
<v Speaker 5>it is sometimes hard to like almost come to grasses.
<v Speaker 2>Like, man, why why are people really like right? What
<v Speaker 2>kind of about that? What is the grace? This game
<v Speaker 2>has gotten some grace?
<v Speaker 5>And there's a part of it's like, boy, I live
<v Speaker 5>in an era where I'm defending Mario sixty four. It
<v Speaker 5>feels like sometimes this game has just given this a
<v Speaker 5>lot of grace for just a I don't know, a
<v Speaker 5>mountain of flaws that to me are difficult to see pass.
<v Speaker 6>Yeah, and that like, I'm like going into this conversation
<v Speaker 6>recognizing that people have are pretty sensitive around this game
<v Speaker 6>for whatever reason, and people are allowed to be. I
<v Speaker 6>have definitely been sensitive around games that I've really enjoyed
<v Speaker 6>that I feel people didn't get, so I understand that.
<v Speaker 6>At the same time, this is a podcast where we
<v Speaker 6>come in and talk about video games and it's not
<v Speaker 6>just us pland around being chuckle Fox being like, let's
<v Speaker 6>entertain you with the game I'm playing. Sometimes we're gonna
<v Speaker 6>be critics and say this game is bad. I think
<v Speaker 6>this is a bad a poorly made video game. I
<v Speaker 6>think it's a bad video game. But I you know, again,
<v Speaker 6>twelve fifteen hours in somewhere in there, my time run
<v Speaker 6>Steam is kind of all over the place because I
<v Speaker 6>left it on one night, but twelve to fifteen hours
<v Speaker 6>in and it's, yeah, I might like a two out
<v Speaker 6>of five right now. I strongly dislike what I've played,
<v Speaker 6>and it like, I've seen some stuff and I've done
<v Speaker 6>a few things like you ride on horseback and then
<v Speaker 6>if you jump off the horse off a cliff and
<v Speaker 6>then jump well the horses in the air, you get
<v Speaker 6>a huge amount of height and it looks cool, it
<v Speaker 6>still doesn't feel good. I've seen people fling the tree,
<v Speaker 6>do the tree flinging thing where you get the you know,
<v Speaker 6>the wrappling hook hand thing that Mike was talking about.
<v Speaker 6>You go to the top of certain trees and you
<v Speaker 6>can sort of wind this thing up, pull back, and
<v Speaker 6>it flings you in the air. I've not done that yet,
<v Speaker 6>but I had the same sensation of looking and I'd
<v Speaker 6>be like, it looks cool, but it looks like it
<v Speaker 6>feels kind of like the way the floating feels and
<v Speaker 6>the rest of the game, which is sort of stunted
<v Speaker 6>and not as fun as you would expect it to feel.
<v Speaker 6>It's just kind of across the board. I think this
<v Speaker 6>game doesn't quite understand why it's doing the things it's doing,
<v Speaker 6>and that has led to a soup, a sloppy mess,
<v Speaker 6>that is I would call just straight up back and.
<v Speaker 4>So I'm sorry to cut you off, mikey. I So
<v Speaker 4>I don't I've not played this game. I've seen a
<v Speaker 4>lot of it, and I and I've really just been
<v Speaker 4>watching from the outside looking in right and I and
<v Speaker 4>I what I've seen fidelity wise, right, production value wise,
<v Speaker 4>I'm like, oh wow, this game like looks kind of tremendous,
<v Speaker 4>but I do feel like, like my gut tells me
<v Speaker 4>like it sits in this weird sort of space of
<v Speaker 4>like having such a strong uh you know, optics and
<v Speaker 4>fidelity on one side, and then the other element of
<v Speaker 4>all the other elements that you look for in a
<v Speaker 4>comminent game are just not there, Like how did this?
<v Speaker 4>How do you think this happened?
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, this game right, and that's what those are.
<v Speaker 6>Just the tools are there now, Like this thing is
<v Speaker 6>all the sliders maxed out, even the visuals, Like, yes,
<v Speaker 6>technologically it's impressive. I think from a visual sort of
<v Speaker 6>aesthetic point of view. It is also really difficult to
<v Speaker 6>look at the lamp. If you ever have the lamp
<v Speaker 6>turn on your on your hip and you're running, the
<v Speaker 6>shadows from that are flicking around in a way that
<v Speaker 6>I'm like, is this not causing problems for people? Like
<v Speaker 6>this is make I'm having a hard time looking at
<v Speaker 6>the screw without my eyes hurting. There's ten thousand leaves
<v Speaker 6>blowing across the screen as particle effects. It's like you,
<v Speaker 6>I get it, but the effect is sort of beating
<v Speaker 6>me over the head to the point where it's maybe
<v Speaker 6>not having the intended effect. If there was an intended
<v Speaker 6>effect that you come across fields of bushes sort of
<v Speaker 6>whipping in the wind, and I can, like, if I
<v Speaker 6>look at them pro second too long, I could see
<v Speaker 6>that they're all synced up and animating the exact same
<v Speaker 6>way that gives it the super artificial feel it is.
<v Speaker 5>John.
<v Speaker 2>I just I just think it's like because they could.
<v Speaker 6>I don't ever think they consider whether or not they
<v Speaker 6>should on any choice in this game at any point.
<v Speaker 3>And to the point of the graphics, I feel like
<v Speaker 3>if there was an award we gave out for most graphics,
<v Speaker 3>most graphics.
<v Speaker 2>Yes, you know, without a doubt.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, It's it's interesting to see because, like I feel
<v Speaker 1>like a game that came from a similar region, like
<v Speaker 1>Stellar Blade or Lies of P is like aping off
<v Speaker 1>of a specific type of game, but it's doing it
<v Speaker 1>very well. Like Stellar Blade had a very deep combat
<v Speaker 1>system the further you went in, and you know, scantily
<v Speaker 1>clad ladies. For sure, Lies of P Fantastic Souls game.
<v Speaker 1>I put it up there with uh the other ones.
<v Speaker 1>This feels like one of those Mark gimmick Bloody Mary's
<v Speaker 1>that you order at a restaurant that are like stacked high,
<v Speaker 1>like a.
<v Speaker 3>There's milkshakes with fourteen gram crackers.
<v Speaker 1>Like this totally appeals to someone, but sometimes I just
<v Speaker 1>want the milkshake or I just want the bloody Mary.
<v Speaker 6>One last point for me, and this is my positive moment.
<v Speaker 6>I did have a cool, like open world, weird moment
<v Speaker 6>where I am traveling by horseback over kind of the
<v Speaker 6>top of a hill and my little mini map pops
<v Speaker 6>up with like fifteen red dots.
<v Speaker 5>Being like there's enemies all over the place.
<v Speaker 6>I'm like, no, I don't see anything that's weird, and
<v Speaker 6>I'm gonna just keep going, like I wanna is this
<v Speaker 6>a bug? Let me turn around? Turn around, like looking
<v Speaker 6>to see if I could see anything. And I'm kind
<v Speaker 6>of waiting there for a second, and then I started
<v Speaker 6>to notice. I'm like, wait, are those like five bushes
<v Speaker 6>crawling at me? And it was the bushes came to
<v Speaker 6>life and started attacking me, and it's like, okay, they
<v Speaker 6>were kind of moving like the guys in Princess Mininoki
<v Speaker 6>that have the kind of the bushes on top of
<v Speaker 6>them when they're going to kill the pig got or whatever.
<v Speaker 6>It's like that was a cool effect that was actually
<v Speaker 6>pretty neat and I just stumbled across that.
<v Speaker 2>I don't know what those guys were, if there's a
<v Speaker 2>quest ever.
<v Speaker 6>Involving them, but it's like that was a neat thing
<v Speaker 6>to just sort of see in the open world as happenstance,
<v Speaker 6>and I could see if people are finding more of
<v Speaker 6>those than I am, Like if they're rolling the dice
<v Speaker 6>by playing this game and their dice are coming up
<v Speaker 6>better of like finding the kind of good stuff that
<v Speaker 6>might be hidden in there, They're probably gonna end up
<v Speaker 6>having a better time than I did. But for me,
<v Speaker 6>that was like one moment out of twenty five that
<v Speaker 6>I thought were really bad.
<v Speaker 1>Well, going from a game that has perhaps too much
<v Speaker 1>to another game that has an obscene amount of things
<v Speaker 1>going on in it. Poh Kopia, this is still the
<v Speaker 1>game I'm playing a bunch that I'm.
<v Speaker 5>Going back to now that I'm kind of putting Crimson
<v Speaker 5>Desert down.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, yeah, I don't know if anyone has any more
<v Speaker 1>expanded thoughts. I just continue to have a pleasant time
<v Speaker 1>with this. We'll get to some Pokemon news later that
<v Speaker 1>has kind of like made me sad about Pokemon again.
<v Speaker 1>But this for the meantime at least is preserving those
<v Speaker 1>positive Pokemon vibes.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, it's for this one.
<v Speaker 6>It's like, you know, the exact opposite of my experience
<v Speaker 6>with that other game, where it's like, oh, you could
<v Speaker 6>just tell that they thought about every decision and how
<v Speaker 6>this is going, how the player can get the most
<v Speaker 6>enjoyment out of it, and what about what about when
<v Speaker 6>a person was in the middle of something then they
<v Speaker 6>had to put the game down and they took longer
<v Speaker 6>to come back than you thought that were going to
<v Speaker 6>and they forgot what they were doing. What can we
<v Speaker 6>do to make sure that they remember, Well, let's just
<v Speaker 6>have all those cute Pokemon that they're looking forward to
<v Speaker 6>seeing again come up and remind them right away and
<v Speaker 6>point things out in a way that's like cute and
<v Speaker 6>not quite annoying, but it's also like a kind of
<v Speaker 6>an urgent reminder. It's like, oh, yeah, great, you're keeping
<v Speaker 6>me on top of these tasks that I definitely still
<v Speaker 6>cared about.
<v Speaker 2>Thank you so much.
<v Speaker 5>Game.
<v Speaker 6>That's very thoughtful, and that's how I feel about everything
<v Speaker 6>in that game. It's like, that was very thoughtful.
<v Speaker 2>I wrote credits on this one, actually, Yeah, and it's.
<v Speaker 6>A fourth, the fourth biome you were done or five
<v Speaker 6>four or five biomes, it's it's uh yeah, that's play
<v Speaker 6>four or four four is the last.
<v Speaker 2>Okay.
<v Speaker 5>It took me I think twenty five hours to go
<v Speaker 5>through the campaign like that, and it was it felt
<v Speaker 5>breezy as hell for that kind of a thing. Man,
<v Speaker 5>Like the setup of it again, each of these biomes
<v Speaker 5>kind of having like the base stuff of like you know,
<v Speaker 5>get the habits at level, what build that Pokemon center,
<v Speaker 5>but then each one also kind of revolves around you
<v Speaker 5>gameplay thing like you're gonna learn how to cook and
<v Speaker 5>throw a party, or you know, you're gonna have to
<v Speaker 5>learn about electricity and bright lighting up the town.
<v Speaker 2>And that all felt really good and you.
<v Speaker 5>Know, I love that. You know, I could see myself
<v Speaker 5>maybe something really getting into like I'm going to really
<v Speaker 5>build up these towns and really get into the nitty
<v Speaker 5>gritty here, but just sort of completing these objectives, building
<v Speaker 5>up the towns enough, somewhat sloppily just to kind of
<v Speaker 5>meet the objectives. Yeah, building bridges kind of haphazzoly where
<v Speaker 5>I need to go. That was still good enough, and
<v Speaker 5>that got me through the game into a sort of
<v Speaker 5>satisfying conclusion and kind of just again put me on
<v Speaker 5>that really good loop or like you know, I do
<v Speaker 5>all this stuff and then like right before I turn off,
<v Speaker 5>I set up some of my bigger construction projects. Then
<v Speaker 5>when I get back to that next day, those are
<v Speaker 5>done and WHENNY for me, so gosh, yeah, it was
<v Speaker 5>really good for that campaign experience, and in some ways
<v Speaker 5>that campaign it almost is like this jactatorial for setting
<v Speaker 5>me loose. If I wanted to go back to these
<v Speaker 5>zones or go to that big open area and just
<v Speaker 5>really build things up from scratch, like I really think
<v Speaker 5>I understand basically everything I really need to about this game.
<v Speaker 2>Now. I wish I was wired to like build an
<v Speaker 2>island or design an island elaborately and nicely, because I'll see,
<v Speaker 2>you know, friends across games media making really cute islands.
<v Speaker 2>And then I am literally in a din of iniquity
<v Speaker 2>where there's mud on the floor that I've yet to
<v Speaker 2>clean up even though I know how to, and I
<v Speaker 2>just keep jumping over it and holes in the ground
<v Speaker 2>because I wanted to get an item that he never.
<v Speaker 6>TV with where the g's giant bomb for at stream
<v Speaker 6>when you come back from packs at some point, Okay,
<v Speaker 6>we'll do a multiplayer stream where we maybe have each
<v Speaker 6>of us with a mesh cast and he's sending like
<v Speaker 6>us working on our own houses, and then we'll have
<v Speaker 6>chat vote for who has the best house at the end.
<v Speaker 1>We're gonna do Yeah, I've just learned about the mouse
<v Speaker 1>mode recently, Dan.
<v Speaker 3>It's awesome circumstances when you're in a certain mode with
<v Speaker 3>that game, it's like, all right, this is mouse time.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, seeing the mouse stuff work well here is just
<v Speaker 1>got me hankering gang for like maker, Yeah of course, yeah, yeah,
<v Speaker 1>that'd be great someday, someday, someday, some day you're all
<v Speaker 1>in trouble.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, yeah, I'm not ones. Yeah, just go get good
<v Speaker 2>to Patrick again. Leave us out of it. Yeah.
<v Speaker 5>By the way, like this is a game that, like,
<v Speaker 5>you know, I do not have any expectations for the story,
<v Speaker 5>and I'm not going to be like wow, like this
<v Speaker 5>is some really deep super juice stuff. But it did
<v Speaker 5>for what this is, they made, They made a lot
<v Speaker 5>out of it. They got they got a lot of
<v Speaker 5>value out of storytelling in this Pokemon Minecraft, Like just
<v Speaker 5>the kind of decisions that they made with what is
<v Speaker 5>going on in this world and why things are the
<v Speaker 5>way they are, even some of the like you know,
<v Speaker 5>oh you found a note, you're learning things. It has
<v Speaker 5>some of the best note storytelling since Resident Evil.
<v Speaker 3>It's also a great entry point to someone who doesn't
<v Speaker 3>really know a lot about Pokemon, where it's like, I
<v Speaker 3>don't really know I've seen a slow poke. I could
<v Speaker 3>point him out in a police line up, but like,
<v Speaker 3>I don't really know his gimmick or anything. Yeah, and
<v Speaker 3>now it's like his personality.
<v Speaker 2>I know.
<v Speaker 3>Now it's like, Okay, he's oh, he's very tired all
<v Speaker 3>the time, and for some reason, if he yawns big,
<v Speaker 3>it rains. And so now I got to figure out
<v Speaker 3>how to make this guy get a hundred point yawn
<v Speaker 3>and he's right.
<v Speaker 2>It's all very charming to me.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, I'm now just walking around to friends in real
<v Speaker 1>life just staring at them dead in the eyes.
<v Speaker 2>Like yawn for me. Yeah, that was a thirteen.
<v Speaker 1>Damn well, Mike, speaking about Resident Evil, you've been playing
<v Speaker 1>Resident Evil zero.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, yeah, Resident Evil mood, and you know, I bet
<v Speaker 2>you wore.
<v Speaker 5>There's a handful of them I haven't played yet, and
<v Speaker 5>I would really like to play all of them.
<v Speaker 2>So, uh, I was just like, which one do I
<v Speaker 2>want to play?
<v Speaker 5>I'm always curious about Zero because whenever people talk about
<v Speaker 5>that game, I feel like all I ever hear is, well,
<v Speaker 5>the inventory management is tough because you know, you don't
<v Speaker 5>have the item boxes and you just drop the items
<v Speaker 5>and you have the two people.
<v Speaker 2>So it's like, Okay, I get that, what else about
<v Speaker 2>the game? There's a whole game here? What else is
<v Speaker 2>going on?
<v Speaker 1>You know?
<v Speaker 5>The game I was always looked like it's a sister
<v Speaker 5>game to the Resumee one remake, and I like that
<v Speaker 5>game a ton, So just something in that style I
<v Speaker 5>thought would be would be fun. So yeah, I've I'm
<v Speaker 5>like seven hours into this now, so pretty deep. And
<v Speaker 5>it starts in the train, and like the whole the
<v Speaker 5>train section is pretty cool because at first show like
<v Speaker 5>a train, How does that work for res Eevil? Somehow
<v Speaker 5>they managed to make it not super backtrack even though
<v Speaker 5>you are going kind of back and forth this train,
<v Speaker 5>but it's like an upper level and they do some
<v Speaker 5>fun stuff with like oh, this character's trapped in this room,
<v Speaker 5>but he's gonna use like the surface elevator to send
<v Speaker 5>the key down to the other character.
<v Speaker 2>So you know that's like just a couple hours, and
<v Speaker 2>then I was in.
<v Speaker 5>This training facility that basically looks a lot like the
<v Speaker 5>Spencer mansion, so then suddenly very similar. But you know,
<v Speaker 5>the big gimmick of this one is that you do
<v Speaker 5>have the two characters at all times. You can make
<v Speaker 5>them follow each other, or you can keep one in
<v Speaker 5>one place. Sometime you kind of have to have them
<v Speaker 5>separate places for puzzles, right, So it's it's both interesting
<v Speaker 5>because like, the other one can't help you shoot enemies,
<v Speaker 5>and that can help, but it also really does make
<v Speaker 5>it more difficult because you are managing the inventory, the health,
<v Speaker 5>uh right, and all this side of stuff for this
<v Speaker 5>other character, and sometimes it's kind of dangerous to just
<v Speaker 5>have them follow you to a dangerous place. So you
<v Speaker 5>go through this dangerous section trying not to shoot everything
<v Speaker 5>because you're gonna way sorry, Ammo. And you switch to
<v Speaker 5>that other character you kind of have to kind of
<v Speaker 5>get them into that same location as well. And on
<v Speaker 5>top of that, this game has some of the some
<v Speaker 5>of the harder enemies I see in Resime. Well, there's
<v Speaker 5>this leech zombie specifically that is just this bullitz sponge,
<v Speaker 5>like the best way to kill them is throwing these
<v Speaker 5>Molotov cocktails, which are not easy to come by. You
<v Speaker 5>got to like throw three of those things at them,
<v Speaker 5>and they don't even necessarily damage, uh stun him so
<v Speaker 5>you can get back at you. So it's so kind
<v Speaker 5>of like lining up with what I heard about the game,
<v Speaker 5>where like, oh, it's kind of it's it's a it's
<v Speaker 5>a bit more embrace.
<v Speaker 2>It's kind of difficult, and it's probably might be the
<v Speaker 2>hardest resudual I played, but like it's still so freaking
<v Speaker 2>gorgeous because it has that amazing pre rendered back. Yeah,
<v Speaker 2>that's your pre.
<v Speaker 5>Rendered artist at that time, we're working on those games.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, I started already one remake on steam Deck and
<v Speaker 3>it's still like, how the funck was this? I know
<v Speaker 3>it's the like remaster of the remake, but it's still
<v Speaker 3>like it. That was one of those games that you
<v Speaker 3>would see screenshots of like a candle in the GM
<v Speaker 3>and be like, how the fuck are they making it
<v Speaker 3>look like that?
<v Speaker 5>Yeah, it looks so freaking good. You know, it still
<v Speaker 5>plays like that game as well, So it's still a
<v Speaker 5>ton of fun kind of crawling, you know, scratching and
<v Speaker 5>clawing your way through this mansion, like, oh, I can
<v Speaker 5>go into this room and there's like a tough zombie there,
<v Speaker 5>but also the item I need. It's, you know, just
<v Speaker 5>that basic resident evil loop is so really good. It's
<v Speaker 5>sometimes the two character stuff it is neat, like, you
<v Speaker 5>know again with that kind of dumb waiter moment, stuff
<v Speaker 5>like that, Rebecca Chambers is cool bad Chris and Rebecca Chambers. No,
<v Speaker 5>it's Billy, Billy the fuck is Billy. He's an original
<v Speaker 5>character in this one. He's got a tribal tattoo and he's, oh,
<v Speaker 5>maybe he's killed twenty three people. They're very specific about
<v Speaker 5>the number. There was a funny moment where like this
<v Speaker 5>number every time. It's not just he's killed people's he's
<v Speaker 5>killed twenty three people. At what point, like after a
<v Speaker 5>sober moment, Rebecca's like, Billy, I have to ask you something.
<v Speaker 2>I promise I won't judge you. Is it true that
<v Speaker 2>you killed twenty three people?
<v Speaker 3>So, Mike, I feel like you and I have talked
<v Speaker 3>about this were you know you we've played Residue Wove
<v Speaker 3>been a fan for a long time. But it's like
<v Speaker 3>Rebecca Chambers specifically is a character that I've heard about
<v Speaker 3>since the first fucking game. I don't think I've ever
<v Speaker 3>seen her in the game, like you never played.
<v Speaker 5>As Chris, right, yeah, yeah, yeah, because she's she's the
<v Speaker 5>Barry of the Chris campaign residue the.
<v Speaker 3>Very eight hundred times I've never seen Rebecca.
<v Speaker 5>There's that in like the weird picture of her playing
<v Speaker 5>basketball you find in the in the two games and
<v Speaker 5>in nine.
<v Speaker 3>Right, yeah, I've seen the live action her putting on
<v Speaker 3>a headband and smiling from the intros a bunch of times.
<v Speaker 2>The other funny thing is like the villaid of this game,
<v Speaker 2>it's he they plucked.
<v Speaker 5>It feels like they plucked him from another gabe, Like
<v Speaker 5>he looks like a villain from one of those PS
<v Speaker 5>two Castle Vadia games, so amazing crazy.
<v Speaker 2>It looks like a fucking like Alu card. There's something.
<v Speaker 2>He's the bad guy.
<v Speaker 5>It's so weird, Like the cuts, you know, Rebecca, this
<v Speaker 5>billy guy doing Residevil stuff. There's this vampire looking dude
<v Speaker 5>standing on a cliff with like is it.
<v Speaker 6>The guy in the white robes that also kind of
<v Speaker 6>has a tribal like a Cyan travel trouble tattoo in
<v Speaker 6>the arms or is that someone else?
<v Speaker 2>Does he looked like Alou Card.
<v Speaker 5>Yeah, yeah, it might be him. I don't remember his
<v Speaker 5>tattoos situation. I think he's wearing a last cooat though. Sure, yeah, okay, yeah,
<v Speaker 5>but yeah. So I'm still actually having a really good
<v Speaker 5>time with it. Definitely been some difficulty, spikes, tough enemies.
<v Speaker 5>There's like now there's like baboons who are have zombie
<v Speaker 5>viruses around, and you know you gotta shuck in them
<v Speaker 5>and face a few times to take care of that.
<v Speaker 5>And now I know I'm close to the end because
<v Speaker 5>I've I'm going into an underground facility of some kind
<v Speaker 5>right last I'm going to course. So now we're almost
<v Speaker 5>at the end, folks, We're gonna take a quick bricky break.
<v Speaker 5>We still got more games to talk about, and we
<v Speaker 5>got the news on the other side of this.
<v Speaker 2>We'll see you right after quick break.
<v Speaker 1>I'm sending at the break, and we still have plenty
<v Speaker 1>of games to talk about. Going from Resident Evil zero,
<v Speaker 1>which isn't actually a co op game, to a game
<v Speaker 1>that surprisingly does slay the Spire too. Grub, Chuck, Mikey,
<v Speaker 1>and our dear friend Bailey check this out last Friday
<v Speaker 1>on UPF. What would you guys think.
<v Speaker 5>Care's what Jeff thinks, because Jeff, you've not really spent
<v Speaker 5>much time with single players late as fire.
<v Speaker 6>Right, Yeah, I kind of wish someone would have told
<v Speaker 6>me about this game. And here's the thing. It's like
<v Speaker 6>something what about when I was like, hey, should I
<v Speaker 6>just learn on the multiplayer stream? And I'm glad I
<v Speaker 6>didn't because we were it was so fast paced. I'm
<v Speaker 6>glad I had the foundation.
<v Speaker 2>But the game is so easy to learn, it's so playable,
<v Speaker 2>it's so like, oh I get this.
<v Speaker 6>If you've played any sort of card game, any sort
<v Speaker 6>of rogue Light, you're gonna get it very fast.
<v Speaker 2>And then it's just very.
<v Speaker 6>Satisfying to do the like can I optimize this turn?
<v Speaker 6>Which is one of the key elements of a very
<v Speaker 6>good turn based rogue Light. So I do think of
<v Speaker 6>like into the breach, very different like fundamental genre, but
<v Speaker 6>the idea is you have a certain amount of like energy,
<v Speaker 6>a certain amount of things you could do on this turn.
<v Speaker 6>Can you manipulate things in such a way so that
<v Speaker 6>you are taking zero damage and doing maximum damage? And
<v Speaker 6>that's what Slaves Spier is, I guess at its core
<v Speaker 6>as well, at least as far as I played it
<v Speaker 6>so far, and I thought it was really satisfying.
<v Speaker 2>And it's like, you know that there's a game optimized
<v Speaker 2>a way of playing these.
<v Speaker 6>Cards in front of you, and when you feel like
<v Speaker 6>I think I might have got at that turn, I
<v Speaker 6>feel like I did the best I possibly could have done.
<v Speaker 6>That's a super satisfying thing. And it's so rapid pace
<v Speaker 6>that you're gonna get to that moment pretty frequently. And
<v Speaker 6>then when you make mistakes, it's it's great because you're
<v Speaker 6>going to learn from them. You're like, oh, I should
<v Speaker 6>have done it that way, and then you just add
<v Speaker 6>that to your base of knowledge and go on. It's
<v Speaker 6>like you could just see why this game is so
<v Speaker 6>revered because it's so refined in the things it does well,
<v Speaker 6>and those things are.
<v Speaker 2>Very just make for a very good video game.
<v Speaker 5>Yeah, And that was my first time doing the co op,
<v Speaker 5>which is new and Slave aspired too, and that was
<v Speaker 5>that was fun and I like that there both was
<v Speaker 5>some synergies we could do, but largely we were kind
<v Speaker 5>of able to just sort of do our thing and
<v Speaker 5>not have to like stop consider what the other person
<v Speaker 5>was doing.
<v Speaker 2>Yes all times, and like I.
<v Speaker 6>Could do I did like the tank thing the tank
<v Speaker 6>thing was like it was one of those ones where
<v Speaker 6>it's like that was a brief moment where it's I
<v Speaker 6>could consider like what you guys were dealing with and
<v Speaker 6>what I was dealing with, and it's like I tried
<v Speaker 6>it at first, and it kind of like wrecked me
<v Speaker 6>because it was doubling the damage I was taking and
<v Speaker 6>having the damage you.
<v Speaker 5>All were taking.
<v Speaker 6>And it's like, okay, that's pretty good math, right, because
<v Speaker 6>it's half damage for three people double damage for one person,
<v Speaker 6>you usually gonna be a pretty good exchange.
<v Speaker 5>But I like to play the game.
<v Speaker 2>I don't want to be dead.
<v Speaker 6>So then I got one that's like it doubled my
<v Speaker 6>the defensive stuff that I was doing, so everything that
<v Speaker 6>I was laying down that's defensive was being doubled. So like,
<v Speaker 6>all right, in this moment, now it's the time to tank,
<v Speaker 6>and it's like, okay, all these things I'm synergizing with
<v Speaker 6>myself and then giving you guys a slight buff and
<v Speaker 6>that felt pretty good without me having to be like,
<v Speaker 6>you guys think I should do this. It's like no,
<v Speaker 6>I know this is the right move, and I could
<v Speaker 6>just do it and give you guys a boost there.
<v Speaker 5>Yeah, and you know, I like the different characters and
<v Speaker 5>they all kind of feel different. It was fun that
<v Speaker 5>we were each one of them. And I'm the guy
<v Speaker 5>who kind of as a pet and you can sort
<v Speaker 5>of play cards through buff that pet, and I kind
<v Speaker 5>of got into this build that I really like where
<v Speaker 5>I also can get these soul cards in my deck,
<v Speaker 5>and the soul cards are just like, oh, you draw
<v Speaker 5>this card, will now play that and draw two more cards.
<v Speaker 5>And I kind of got into this rhythm of I'm
<v Speaker 5>making a lot of these soul cards, and I have
<v Speaker 5>a card that each time I use a soul card,
<v Speaker 5>my pet gets more health, and then I have another
<v Speaker 5>car that turns that health in the damage. So just
<v Speaker 5>you know, I had this really good build with a
<v Speaker 5>lot of synergies going, and it just felt good playing that,
<v Speaker 5>seeing what you all were up to, occasionally peaking your characters,
<v Speaker 5>and you know, even when we kind of did this
<v Speaker 5>stuff in between fights, like okay, there's four relics. Everybody
<v Speaker 5>pick a relic and there's two people with the same rocks.
<v Speaker 5>They're gonna literally pay per scissors rock for it.
<v Speaker 2>Good stuff. It's well considered.
<v Speaker 1>Uh, slay this fire for as much as I enjoy
<v Speaker 1>the game. I do think parts of it are kind
<v Speaker 1>of ugly, and looking at this next game we're about
<v Speaker 1>to talk about, this game is very ugly. Mister Grebb,
<v Speaker 1>tell me about Mister Sleepy Man.
<v Speaker 2>I uh, okay, one, Dan and Mike should go play
<v Speaker 2>mister Sleepy Man. Right, a Western sleepy Man. I think
<v Speaker 2>all you guys will probably enjoy it.
<v Speaker 6>This is a three D platformer where you play as
<v Speaker 6>a little sleepy guy who is to sleep the entire
<v Speaker 6>time you're playing, but he runs around. Uh he could
<v Speaker 6>talk to characters, they talk to him. He just makes
<v Speaker 6>snoring noises. That's what the talking button does.
<v Speaker 5>That's fun.
<v Speaker 2>You you get like a pillow and stuff and that's
<v Speaker 2>your your attack.
<v Speaker 6>It has it's a very dreamlike quality game. There's two
<v Speaker 6>feet two Fee is a character who is just a
<v Speaker 6>big head with big teeth and he hangs over you
<v Speaker 6>while whilst mister sleeping man is sleeping, and the twof
<v Speaker 6>he just talks.
<v Speaker 2>He just won't stop, he won't shut up.
<v Speaker 6>Uh, And you kind of like, all right, you'll deal
<v Speaker 6>with that, and you run away from because you don't
<v Speaker 6>want to have him talk anymore. But he's still talking
<v Speaker 6>back in that room you left him in. It is
<v Speaker 6>it has that dreamlike quality of like weird stuff is happening.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah what Yeah, I was gonna say this is like
<v Speaker 4>a rug Rats like and character design looks like guitar room.
<v Speaker 2>Man. I'm looking at the images, so.
<v Speaker 6>It definitely is like, this feels like a weird PlayStation
<v Speaker 6>one game. And I kind of can't give a higher
<v Speaker 6>compliment in this moment my life where I am like
<v Speaker 6>so desperately missing those games and like we are we
<v Speaker 6>are in a worse place as a society.
<v Speaker 5>Because we didn't get those games anymore. This is like, oh,
<v Speaker 5>it delivers.
<v Speaker 6>One of the first things I did was is laid
<v Speaker 6>down a banana po on trip someone cool. You can
<v Speaker 6>do that in a lot of games. Glad that's here.
<v Speaker 6>But then it's like you could pick up anything. Well,
<v Speaker 6>can I pick up.
<v Speaker 2>This cash register?
<v Speaker 1>Oh?
<v Speaker 6>I committed a felony. I should get I should start
<v Speaker 6>running the games like, okay, yeah, get out here. You
<v Speaker 6>did a felony, check mark, You're gonna get that.
<v Speaker 2>It's cool.
<v Speaker 5>There's a VHS filter.
<v Speaker 6>That kind of applies an even like even more dream
<v Speaker 6>like quality to the visuals that I thought was really
<v Speaker 6>well done. Yeah, I'm just I'm really into what this
<v Speaker 6>is doing. You get the Pellow case and that works
<v Speaker 6>as like a little hover thing like Zelda and stuff.
<v Speaker 6>It feels good to play, It's got like a good
<v Speaker 6>movement set, and then it has ideas. It's not just
<v Speaker 6>a three D collector like collectithon platformer. It is that,
<v Speaker 6>but then it's like, you know, go mess around in
<v Speaker 6>the world and accomplish some objectives on this list as well.
<v Speaker 6>So I think it's gonna have kind of a little
<v Speaker 6>bit of something for everybody. I like this playing it
<v Speaker 6>on steam Deck. I think you guys would all really
<v Speaker 6>enjoy it.
<v Speaker 3>And I want that too, because I feel like a
<v Speaker 3>couple times in recent months I've thought that like there
<v Speaker 3>is a new kind of indie three. It's like Big
<v Speaker 3>Hobs a Demon Tides were ones that like I was like, ooh,
<v Speaker 3>this seems up my alley, but just got things were
<v Speaker 3>kind of off on them that made me not love them. Sure,
<v Speaker 3>I'm in the mood for this. I'm looking for this,
<v Speaker 3>and like, I like everything I'm seeing and hearing about this.
<v Speaker 6>I think that yes, like you start the game by
<v Speaker 6>you got to go get the controller, you have to
<v Speaker 6>pick up the cartridge, put it in the N sixty
<v Speaker 6>four like thing, hit the button, turn on the TV,
<v Speaker 6>and that's fun, and then the game really starts.
<v Speaker 5>They know what they're making.
<v Speaker 2>I think, Dan.
<v Speaker 6>The thing I'm always worried about with those games, yeah,
<v Speaker 6>is it's trying to be that is it getting just
<v Speaker 6>close enough and then coming up short so that I
<v Speaker 6>can't help but making the comparison, and that's not what
<v Speaker 6>not really what this one's doing. It is like suggesting
<v Speaker 6>all those things and then kind of being its own
<v Speaker 6>game in a lot of different ways that are key
<v Speaker 6>to making it feel like this is just going to
<v Speaker 6>stand on its own and be its own thing.
<v Speaker 2>So I think it delivered. Hey did we say pillow
<v Speaker 2>weird in the Midwest?
<v Speaker 5>Apparently?
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, pillow?
<v Speaker 3>Whatever every wanted to say said and say the word,
<v Speaker 3>here we go. I'm gonna say pillow.
<v Speaker 2>Pillow, Pello what he pillow?
<v Speaker 5>Wait again?
<v Speaker 3>Wait, this is an Ohio thing?
<v Speaker 2>Then this this was Michigan for me, Pellow.
<v Speaker 5>Okay, that you're I still uh still understand what you mean, Chuck.
<v Speaker 5>Did you have other people say pillow uh in Michigan
<v Speaker 5>when you were there?
<v Speaker 2>Am I doing that too? Pillow? Yeah? I mean, do again, Mike.
<v Speaker 5>I think.
<v Speaker 1>You're you're splitting the Let me please read Pillow. I
<v Speaker 1>feel like now you're you're on top of it. Is
<v Speaker 1>why I like chimneys.
<v Speaker 5>Milk milk, I say, milk.
<v Speaker 3>Okay, you're doing this weird stuff. You're putting ease where
<v Speaker 3>there should be eyes. Yeah, okay, okay, I like it,
<v Speaker 3>Like you say, Michigan, come on here, Yeah, come on the.
<v Speaker 2>This game has a bingo Papadopolis looking dude in it. Yeah,
<v Speaker 2>you leave him out of that. You know, this is good.
<v Speaker 2>This is good. He's like floating in the sky. He's
<v Speaker 2>got a top hat. It's a good look.
<v Speaker 4>There is a Nickelodeon element to this too. Yeah, I'm
<v Speaker 4>very much into.
<v Speaker 5>Yeah, it's legitimately funny.
<v Speaker 2>It's so yeah.
<v Speaker 6>Yeah, there's there's a lot of good stuff in this.
<v Speaker 6>So people should go check out this Pillow game.
<v Speaker 1>Fantastic. Last game we have here on the docket is
<v Speaker 1>another visually distinct game, and I've been seeing this tear
<v Speaker 1>up the streets and the internet streets.
<v Speaker 2>Screamer.
<v Speaker 6>Yeah, so this is an anime arcade style racing game,
<v Speaker 6>and I've like started to realize after we were talking
<v Speaker 6>about Captain Subaso a little bit, a little bit of
<v Speaker 6>jan but we could be in a world where we
<v Speaker 6>get that, you know, the predator handshake of anime and
<v Speaker 6>arcade games sort of like, hey, we can bring these
<v Speaker 6>things back in a way. So the controls are the
<v Speaker 6>real star here, the way that you can actually control
<v Speaker 6>the game. Have you got any of you guys played
<v Speaker 6>it other than me?
<v Speaker 5>I'm interested though, yeah, I mean the actual release date
<v Speaker 5>is still a couple of days.
<v Speaker 2>Oh way, there's an advanced version that that I got
<v Speaker 2>on Steam. So it's a dual stick racer.
<v Speaker 6>So you basically steer the front part of the car
<v Speaker 6>with the left stick and you can drift the back
<v Speaker 6>part of those car with the right stick, so like
<v Speaker 6>it kind of like careams, oh ever so lightly to
<v Speaker 6>the left when you use the left part of the stick.
<v Speaker 6>But if you kind of you know, pair that up
<v Speaker 6>with a little bit of braking, a little bit letting
<v Speaker 6>off the gas, and then the right stick, you can
<v Speaker 6>really slide into these turns to the point where it's like, oh,
<v Speaker 6>I am always actively engaged and thinking about the best
<v Speaker 6>way to control this car around corners. Then there's a
<v Speaker 6>boost system where you're like shifting gears upward. You're not
<v Speaker 6>really shifting gears for the car, but you're like building
<v Speaker 6>up this boost meter by shifting higher and that's like
<v Speaker 6>hitting L one and you can do that at certain
<v Speaker 6>times when you reach certain speeds until you get to
<v Speaker 6>the high high gear. You spend a certain amount of
<v Speaker 6>time in that highest gear and now you have a boost,
<v Speaker 6>and then that boost sets off a QTE where if
<v Speaker 6>you can triangle shrinks and if you get it in
<v Speaker 6>the green before the yellow part, you get a boost
<v Speaker 6>that lasts twice as long. So there's all these elements
<v Speaker 6>working in conjunction with one another, and it creates this like, Oh,
<v Speaker 6>I am on the edge of my seat just trying
<v Speaker 6>to make like handle this car because there's so much
<v Speaker 6>going on, and I really like that element. I'm not
<v Speaker 6>loving the anime style of this one. I think, you know,
<v Speaker 6>as someone who finds this particular kind of anime to
<v Speaker 6>be a little bit generic, not super generic. It has
<v Speaker 6>some characters that stand out, for sure, but it's like
<v Speaker 6>I would like, you know, seventies or eighties style or something,
<v Speaker 6>this just looks like any other video game to me
<v Speaker 6>in a lot of ways. I'm skipping a lot of
<v Speaker 6>the story because it's kind of getting the way of
<v Speaker 6>what I'm enjoying from this game. But I can, like,
<v Speaker 6>I think the presentation is good enough, especially for anyone
<v Speaker 6>who might be into these characters or this storyline that
<v Speaker 6>they do have going on.
<v Speaker 5>Yeah, that's that's kind of my Yeah, I love arcade
<v Speaker 5>racers and I'm you know, desperate to see a big
<v Speaker 5>one pop off again, you know, the anime aesthetic. I
<v Speaker 5>think it's fine, but I don't know how much storyline
<v Speaker 5>cut scenes I need in my racing game. A little
<v Speaker 5>bit of it is fine, Like I like a Ridge
<v Speaker 5>Racer type four where you have like the weird talking
<v Speaker 5>head guy giving you like a pep talk or like
<v Speaker 5>being pessimistic about your chances before and after every race.
<v Speaker 5>I don't know if I need like to feel like
<v Speaker 5>I'm watching a TV show before and after every rate,
<v Speaker 5>and it is.
<v Speaker 6>Like I do think that that's kind of the side
<v Speaker 6>of the line it falls on where it's the presentation
<v Speaker 6>is a little bit overbearing. It's a little bit too much.
<v Speaker 6>Like you skip a cut scene and then there's another
<v Speaker 6>cut scene you need to skip like right after that.
<v Speaker 6>It's one of those. But I'm not holding that against
<v Speaker 6>it all that much. I'm into what's happening here. It
<v Speaker 6>definitely feels like they had an idea, Like it's it
<v Speaker 6>doesn't feel like they had the biggest budget in the world,
<v Speaker 6>but they made the most with the budget that they
<v Speaker 6>do have.
<v Speaker 2>And you can kind of see through that.
<v Speaker 5>A little bit.
<v Speaker 6>You could see the seams here and there, but again
<v Speaker 6>not to the point where I thought it was detrimental
<v Speaker 6>to my experience. I'm you know, I'm not going to
<v Speaker 6>say I'm over the moon about the skin the way
<v Speaker 6>some people are, but it definitely has it's worth trying,
<v Speaker 6>except for maybe that that price. I think I think
<v Speaker 6>it's like it might be sixty dollars and seventy hours.
<v Speaker 3>Was this advanced access thing was like seventy Yeah, I.
<v Speaker 5>Think it was seventy for this advanced access one.
<v Speaker 6>Yeah, So like that price is a bit much, And
<v Speaker 6>that's where I think the presentation sort of like tries
<v Speaker 6>to justify that to people, like you're getting this big,
<v Speaker 6>cool story, and some people think will be won over
<v Speaker 6>by that. But if it's if it does get in
<v Speaker 6>the way for you like it did for me, I
<v Speaker 6>do wonder if that price maybe should come down before
<v Speaker 6>you check it out.
<v Speaker 1>Listen, I see a Corgie and some of these screenshots,
<v Speaker 1>I'm game. Also know we need more action Arcadie sports
<v Speaker 1>games across.
<v Speaker 2>Yes, yes, yes, and if their anime, so be it.
<v Speaker 2>At this point, it's kind of how I feel. Definitely,
<v Speaker 2>that's the deal with the Devil, So it couldn't be
<v Speaker 2>it very much.
<v Speaker 3>Like I know, it's always hard to do re releases
<v Speaker 3>of like NBA Jam and Blitz and all that stuff
<v Speaker 3>because of like all the players association stuff and everything.
<v Speaker 3>But like, could you do it with like, let's say
<v Speaker 3>it's not current NBA stars, but could you just like
<v Speaker 3>get Muggsy Bogues and spud Web and fucking John.
<v Speaker 2>And everything just their likeness and stuff. Yeah, you just
<v Speaker 2>couldn't get team.
<v Speaker 3>It's like when they got Lawrence Taylor for Blitz League, right,
<v Speaker 3>you just get teams and stuff because yeah, okay, the
<v Speaker 3>teams are important. Even not as a sports guy, I
<v Speaker 3>do kind of like it helps the actual teams. It
<v Speaker 3>feels real, you know, sure, and then they go up
<v Speaker 3>against my Yetti and the Beastie Boys, you know.
<v Speaker 2>Oh of course. Yeah, yeah, folks, that does it for
<v Speaker 2>video game talk. We're gonna go straight into the new
<v Speaker 2>This is Jeff Like, you sound like we're gonna jump
<v Speaker 2>in there. Yeah, as I sought myself, I was like,
<v Speaker 2>I was gonna like be allowed to asshole. I'm like,
<v Speaker 2>you know what it was? It is I felt that
<v Speaker 2>coming a little bit of Yeah what he said during
<v Speaker 2>the break.
<v Speaker 5>Come on, I'm fucking pissed off about diet my Diet
<v Speaker 5>Green Tea changing his thing to zero sugar green tea.
<v Speaker 1>You know that.
<v Speaker 2>I like the zero sugar stuff. It's just a branding change.
<v Speaker 2>It's meaningless. Like what, like, whose job had to be.
<v Speaker 5>Justified by being like, we're changing the name of the
<v Speaker 5>diet green tea lipped in?
<v Speaker 2>I bet those actually do sell better right now? You
<v Speaker 2>know what, let's take that again.
<v Speaker 4>I like it.
<v Speaker 2>This is Jeff rub with the news and Jeff Grub. Yeah,
<v Speaker 2>I have some news here. Let's get into it.
<v Speaker 5>Uh.
<v Speaker 6>Nintendo is reportedly cutting switch to production this quarter as
<v Speaker 6>US demand dips. This is reporting from uh Bloomberg Muchizuki
<v Speaker 6>over there, who's uh often has stories like this.
<v Speaker 2>Uh.
<v Speaker 6>Nintendo is reportedly cutting its plan and switch to production
<v Speaker 6>for the current quarter from six million to four million
<v Speaker 6>consoles due to lower than expected demand in the US,
<v Speaker 6>a trend expected to continue into April.
<v Speaker 3>Well.
<v Speaker 6>The console is still extremely popular in Japan. US sales
<v Speaker 6>have slowed significantly down about thirty five percent compared to
<v Speaker 6>the original switches first Christmas. Now, real quick, it is
<v Speaker 6>worth pointing out that that number does it really line
<v Speaker 6>up to all that well with the data that we
<v Speaker 6>do have from Circana. Matt Piscateel came out and so
<v Speaker 6>he laid out, like when you line up the launches
<v Speaker 6>through for the first nine months, the switch To has
<v Speaker 6>sold faster than everything except for the Game Boy Advance.
<v Speaker 6>It's twenty nine percent faster than the PS five, it
<v Speaker 6>is forty five percent faster than the switch it is,
<v Speaker 6>let's see here a thirty percent faster in the PS four,
<v Speaker 6>thirty four percent faster than the Wii.
<v Speaker 8>It is.
<v Speaker 2>It has sold extremely well.
<v Speaker 6>So one of the problems seems to be a lot
<v Speaker 6>of the people who wanted to buy this thing have
<v Speaker 6>already purchased it, and now now maybe they are struggling
<v Speaker 6>to to that next group of people. And then that
<v Speaker 6>is also reflected in the Circanda report where in January
<v Speaker 6>and February the switch To sold less both in terms
<v Speaker 6>of dollars and units than the PS five, but that
<v Speaker 6>was that was before Pocopia, so Pacopia could sort of
<v Speaker 6>be like, oh, now we are seeing that switches are
<v Speaker 6>selling out at stores switch tos that is.
<v Speaker 5>So things could change at the same time.
<v Speaker 6>I bet they have a lot of switch tos in
<v Speaker 6>the supply chain and cutting this is probably smart for them,
<v Speaker 6>because you know, let it sell first.
<v Speaker 5>Yeah, it's the timing is a little bit weird because
<v Speaker 5>you know, I almost expected the leaner times to be
<v Speaker 5>in December when you're only really big games less say
<v Speaker 5>Prime four and Pokemon Za were also switch one games. Yeah,
<v Speaker 5>January February, not much, what's happened. That's when a lot
<v Speaker 5>of the grumbling was going on, like, ah, switch to
<v Speaker 5>really slow. But you know, now Pocopya has happened. It's
<v Speaker 5>a switch to exclusive and it seems really popular and
<v Speaker 5>it's got all this buzz. You think that would help.
<v Speaker 5>There's other circumstances in the US right out right everybody,
<v Speaker 5>you know, luxury products or maybe not a priority for people,
<v Speaker 5>you know, software wise, beyond Potopia, it's going to be
<v Speaker 5>probably a little slow.
<v Speaker 2>Again.
<v Speaker 5>I bet that they're not expecting huge US sales for
<v Speaker 5>Tomadacci Life, that Yoshi and the Mysterious Book game is
<v Speaker 5>not going to be something that's going to do gangbusters.
<v Speaker 2>We don't know when fire Emblem is, but you know,
<v Speaker 2>we don't have.
<v Speaker 5>The big Mario game or a big Zelda game or
<v Speaker 5>Smash Bars or anything like that announced or on the horizon.
<v Speaker 5>Even the mainline Pokemon is not this year, so you know,
<v Speaker 5>maybe they're kind of looking ahead and they're looking at
<v Speaker 5>their software lineup, and I don't know, do you think
<v Speaker 5>this is an indication Jeff, that that big Mario game
<v Speaker 5>everybody's hoping is coming last year still isn't.
<v Speaker 6>Maybe that's reading too much into it. You're right, it's
<v Speaker 6>probably that would probably be us reading too much into it.
<v Speaker 6>But you got like, you're right late late at the timeline.
<v Speaker 6>I bet this decision was made before all the Pocopia
<v Speaker 6>data came in, and I bet they had their expectations
<v Speaker 6>from for Pacopia and that's what factored into this decision,
<v Speaker 6>and that probably is way less. Excuse me, In fact,
<v Speaker 6>we know that's way less than what that game actually
<v Speaker 6>did because the games sold out physically, they didn't print
<v Speaker 6>enough copies of that, so now they weren't expecting it
<v Speaker 6>to do as well as it did. But then you would, yeah,
<v Speaker 6>you would say, okay, if they have something coming up,
<v Speaker 6>you know, after the Mario movie to sort of answer, hey,
<v Speaker 6>what can Mario fans get after that Mario movie when
<v Speaker 6>they're really excited. To me, this says they're gonna say, hey,
<v Speaker 6>go get Super Mario or yeah, Super Mario Brothers. Wonder
<v Speaker 6>you know, switch to edition and all this other stuff
<v Speaker 6>that we're kind of updating for you instead.
<v Speaker 5>Right, gets the Galaxy one and two button, Like you know,
<v Speaker 5>I went to best Buy and like that's the thing
<v Speaker 5>like outside like a sign for is Galaxy one plus
<v Speaker 5>two Bundle? Like in their mind they have released the
<v Speaker 5>movie tie in game already.
<v Speaker 2>It was that thing. Yep.
<v Speaker 6>I think you know, this is the kind of thing
<v Speaker 6>where you pull back by two million from six million
<v Speaker 6>to four million, and you could ramp things back up
<v Speaker 6>eventually if you need to. But they are their trend
<v Speaker 6>is so far ahead already that it's like if they
<v Speaker 6>kind of just ride and sell the same amount that
<v Speaker 6>they have been, they're gonna they're gonna be mostly fine.
<v Speaker 2>Uh.
<v Speaker 6>And they have not pulled the Zelda and the Mario
<v Speaker 6>levers yet they'll get to their Super Smash Brothers Lever,
<v Speaker 6>they'll get to all those eventually, and that sort of
<v Speaker 6>you know, uh makes them will have them reassess everything.
<v Speaker 6>But in the meantime that this is saying that they
<v Speaker 6>are probably the games that they've announced are probably the
<v Speaker 6>ones they're going to have for the next little bit
<v Speaker 6>next quarter. At least, it says Mario Tennis Fever's fault
<v Speaker 6>is that the name of that game, Mario Mario Tennis Fever,
<v Speaker 6>is definitely I think indicative of kind of like a mistake.
<v Speaker 6>Like I think that that shows that Nintendo kind of
<v Speaker 6>didn't really get like the best way to reach out
<v Speaker 6>to the audience and put out something exciting. That game
<v Speaker 6>was the one of the worst selling Mario Tennis games
<v Speaker 6>in Japan, ever, I.
<v Speaker 5>Think, if not the worst, Like I think, like, help, no,
<v Speaker 5>it doesn't seem like that really made it, you know,
<v Speaker 5>again to be to give us some slacke. There's also
<v Speaker 5>a switch one game, so people who really want to
<v Speaker 5>play that game, they need to upgrade.
<v Speaker 3>So everyone loved it, it just they didn't need to
<v Speaker 3>switch to for it.
<v Speaker 2>That's after what.
<v Speaker 6>I heard Mike say, Verbato say, uh, we'll see I
<v Speaker 6>think that Pacopeia sircount of report will probably tell a
<v Speaker 6>different story, and then maybe things move.
<v Speaker 2>From there, all right.
<v Speaker 6>Epic Games is laying off over one thousand employees due
<v Speaker 6>to quote Fortnite downturn. Epic Games is laying off over
<v Speaker 6>one thousand employees, about twenty three percent of its workforce,
<v Speaker 6>due to a downturn in Fortnite engagement. According to CEO
<v Speaker 6>Tim Sweeney, the company is shutting down Fortnite's rocket racing,
<v Speaker 6>ballistic and festival battle stage modes. Sweeney stated that despite
<v Speaker 6>Fortnite still being successful, inconsistent engagement and the cost of
<v Speaker 6>being quote the industry's vanguard. Which what do you guys
<v Speaker 6>think that means?
<v Speaker 5>Yeah, do they get billed by the industry for their
<v Speaker 5>fan carpets or was.
<v Speaker 4>That me that that's imploying that there's some sort of
<v Speaker 4>like tax it makes It's like a very specific here,
<v Speaker 4>I'll tell you guys, machines. It means that they were
<v Speaker 4>suing people on behalf of everyone in the industry for
<v Speaker 4>their hero work.
<v Speaker 2>Is what they think they were heroes.
<v Speaker 6>So all the work that they did to sue Google
<v Speaker 6>and Apple cost them a ton of money, and they
<v Speaker 6>did that for everyone.
<v Speaker 2>And they did that for everyone. They say they're the
<v Speaker 2>good guys.
<v Speaker 5>Of course it's tim Sweeney's up in that tree.
<v Speaker 2>See they bought them all. Yeah, did tim sweeney take
<v Speaker 2>a pay cut? Tim Sweeney's worth nine point three billion dollars.
<v Speaker 5>No, And like you know, they're also this is also a.
<v Speaker 6>Company that spent tons of money trying to make the
<v Speaker 6>Epic Game Store compete with with Steam. And that meant
<v Speaker 6>spending a bunch of money, not not just on like
<v Speaker 6>giving away free games, which has seemed to work somewhat,
<v Speaker 6>but publishing a bunch of stuff exclusively to the Epic
<v Speaker 6>Game Store that actually didn't move.
<v Speaker 2>The needle at all. That they you know what, I
<v Speaker 2>would describe what.
<v Speaker 6>Has happened over there as poor management, making a lot
<v Speaker 6>of big bets, spreading out that money away from Fortnite,
<v Speaker 6>the Fortnite money kind of away from Fortnite, and that
<v Speaker 6>money not getting any return on investment.
<v Speaker 2>And now the people who make the game are paying
<v Speaker 2>the price that we're for this industry. But they increased
<v Speaker 2>the price of e books so we could all help
<v Speaker 2>keep the lights on, pay the bills. We're to pay
<v Speaker 2>their bills.
<v Speaker 5>I mean, there's got to be some sort of money
<v Speaker 5>in the bank when it comes to Epic Games and
<v Speaker 5>the billions and billions and billions that they made. The
<v Speaker 5>racing thing said they close. Is that the stuff that
<v Speaker 5>the Rocket League people made.
<v Speaker 3>That's been in there question and the festival stuff? Is
<v Speaker 3>that the harmonic stuff?
<v Speaker 1>Like?
<v Speaker 3>Is that like all they've a big stuff alongside the
<v Speaker 3>lego stuff like Lego, the racing and the music stuff.
<v Speaker 3>So is it like they're keeping the Lego and getting
<v Speaker 3>rid of the other stuff.
<v Speaker 2>That's all?
<v Speaker 5>It sounds like latform it's been so weird there, like
<v Speaker 5>because yeah, it seems like none of that really took off.
<v Speaker 5>I don't know how many people are playing that Lego
<v Speaker 5>thing and they're either the Disney billion dollar investment thing
<v Speaker 5>is still coming. They're weird in Fortnite and Metaverse. I
<v Speaker 5>bet that's gonna do fantastic. I bet everyone's gonna be
<v Speaker 5>really happy at the before I.
<v Speaker 2>Mean that thing.
<v Speaker 6>I bet what they like use that they leveraged that
<v Speaker 6>deal to put stuff like the Simpsons back and Fortnite.
<v Speaker 5>It will make a lot of money.
<v Speaker 6>Whatever they're supposed to be making, as like the Bespoke
<v Speaker 6>deliverable for this massive.
<v Speaker 2>Investment that, Yeah, what what does that look like? Does
<v Speaker 2>anyone care? And you know, I think.
<v Speaker 6>At a certain point games weren't meant to last forever
<v Speaker 6>like this, Wait, like what are we building towards? Like
<v Speaker 6>what do we think we're still going to be playing
<v Speaker 6>Fortnite in twenty years?
<v Speaker 5>Like what?
<v Speaker 2>Like? What are we doing exactly?
<v Speaker 3>Well, the League did say that Stunkle Steve Austin is
<v Speaker 3>about to be in there, so that could turn it around.
<v Speaker 5>Finally, that Millennial group, yeah they did, March six did. Yeah,
<v Speaker 5>So apparently the the rock band thing in there, like
<v Speaker 5>that's the way one part of it. Other rock band
<v Speaker 5>esque things are still there. It's all confusing. What's going
<v Speaker 5>on in there? Still I still play? Well, yeah, I guess.
<v Speaker 5>I mean you'll still play Roadblocks?
<v Speaker 6>Right.
<v Speaker 2>Roadblocks is from two thousand and six. It's a year
<v Speaker 2>old game. Literally. Yeah.
<v Speaker 5>I don't think it's out of the question to assume
<v Speaker 5>that it could be around.
<v Speaker 2>They would.
<v Speaker 5>I don't think it's a good thing necessarily, Okay.
<v Speaker 4>I guess what I want to say is that this
<v Speaker 4>comes at a cost of like the industry pointing its
<v Speaker 4>finger at this company, saying like they this is the
<v Speaker 4>monolithic sort of success story that you want to emulate.
<v Speaker 4>And now because of I think you've nailed a mismanagement.
<v Speaker 4>I don't think they get that anymore, right. I think
<v Speaker 4>right now a part of a club that you don't
<v Speaker 4>want to be a member of.
<v Speaker 6>Yeah, and you know a lot of those big bets
<v Speaker 6>that they're making. The mismanagement comes from looking at the
<v Speaker 6>chart two years ago, scene line go up and be like, well,
<v Speaker 6>the line keeps going up, right, and so we're going
<v Speaker 6>to be at this data point right up there up
<v Speaker 6>into the right here in a couple of years. And
<v Speaker 6>then engagement has dropped off because of course course it
<v Speaker 6>is has it's an older game, and the things that
<v Speaker 6>they put in there to get people excited to actually
<v Speaker 6>spend money on the game is targeted at a very
<v Speaker 6>specific millennial audience most of the time, not always, but
<v Speaker 6>most of the time, because those are the people that
<v Speaker 6>spend money. And so it's like kind of like the
<v Speaker 6>young audience is moving on to other things, different things.
<v Speaker 6>Also video games is so much about novelty, of course
<v Speaker 6>they're moving to onto other things. So engagement has dropped.
<v Speaker 6>So now they're like looking at a different trajectory and
<v Speaker 6>they're like Oh, the data point is now same. We're
<v Speaker 6>going to kind of be making the same amount of
<v Speaker 6>money next year, and the same amount of money might
<v Speaker 6>as well be fucking death because we have to grow.
<v Speaker 6>So that's it's a scary proposition when you start talking
<v Speaker 6>about the billions and billions and billions and billions of dollars.
<v Speaker 6>So this game is making and that not being enough.
<v Speaker 6>But well, of course it would be if they were
<v Speaker 6>trying to do it in a sustainable way, but that
<v Speaker 6>is not the business model, and that's never never been
<v Speaker 6>Tim sweeney'smo. It seems like an unreal engine. By the way,
<v Speaker 6>every fucking game of the world being made on unreal engine.
<v Speaker 4>Don't forget about that little more soul, Like every time
<v Speaker 4>a game's sneak is they got a thousand dollars.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, so just a weird thing.
<v Speaker 5>People a thousand people, that's a quarter of the company.
<v Speaker 5>It's on God the Murder Jesus.
<v Speaker 2>Getting a pretty decent severance.
<v Speaker 6>Relatively speaking, like even people in the United States where
<v Speaker 6>there are not those labor laws, like four months worth
<v Speaker 6>of severance. But I was thinking this and I saw
<v Speaker 6>Shreyer saying this on Blue Sky's Well, it's like man.
<v Speaker 6>That would have been a lot a couple of years ago,
<v Speaker 6>but this year where now there's a thousand people who
<v Speaker 6>are experts or many of whom are going to be
<v Speaker 6>experts in unreal engine, all looking for the same jobs
<v Speaker 6>at these companies that aren't really hiring. And that's on
<v Speaker 6>top of all the other people in this industry that
<v Speaker 6>have already been looking for a job for a while.
<v Speaker 6>The expectation is, on average, it's going to take a
<v Speaker 6>person that just got laid off from Epic about one
<v Speaker 6>calendar year twelve entire months to find a new job.
<v Speaker 1>It's not like anyone that's gotten laid off from any
<v Speaker 1>of the other companies has been able to find a
<v Speaker 1>job or a steady, reliable any like that. Talent pool
<v Speaker 1>is so crowded at this point.
<v Speaker 6>Yeah, it flips so flipped on its head from a
<v Speaker 6>couple of remember during the pandemic it was and any
<v Speaker 6>anyone can go anywhere and demand any amount of money.
<v Speaker 2>Start up a million news studios get funding right away.
<v Speaker 5>Yeah, yep, it's such a yo yo.
<v Speaker 6>And uh you know, of course the macroeconomic situation is
<v Speaker 6>not helping, and that's only looking gloomier by the day.
<v Speaker 5>So yeah, things are going to be rough.
<v Speaker 2>I say, hope a lot of these people are able
<v Speaker 2>to make.
<v Speaker 6>Their like their own studios and put out some cool
<v Speaker 6>friends Slop stuff and have huge success stories.
<v Speaker 5>That would be you know.
<v Speaker 1>But the worst part of that, though, Grub, is that
<v Speaker 1>then Fortnite will sell a skin of that friend slop
<v Speaker 1>game that is more than the Actually still.
<v Speaker 6>They'll they'll steal the ideas, right and just put it
<v Speaker 6>into Fortnite. That's what they've always done.
<v Speaker 2>Lord developers, you have the opportunity the funniest thing ever
<v Speaker 2>right now. Yeah, welcome to lot Nite. All right.
<v Speaker 6>Pokemon Champions gets confirmed release date and Switch to launch update.
<v Speaker 5>There's there's a lot going on with this one. I
<v Speaker 5>will need help Jan, but yeah.
<v Speaker 6>Pokemon Champions, a competitive battling game for Nintendo Switch and Mobile,
<v Speaker 6>is coming April eighth. It features the familiar Pokemon battle mechanics, online, ranked,
<v Speaker 6>casual and private battles, and in game competitions. It's going
<v Speaker 6>to become the new not the facto, but that's the
<v Speaker 6>standard for the platform. Four The competitive scene adopted by
<v Speaker 6>the Pokemon company itself and will be used at the
<v Speaker 6>Championships this year. It shouldn't matter too much to most people.
<v Speaker 6>But there's yea again the luck going on with this.
<v Speaker 6>Players can you get like thirty free Pokemon or thirty
<v Speaker 6>free Pokemon slots unless you subscribe to something and then
<v Speaker 6>you've got to then you can bring in your own
<v Speaker 6>Pokemon from all this other stuff. Jan I kind of
<v Speaker 6>lost the threat pretty quickly on this. I think I'm
<v Speaker 6>getting the sense though that people are like, oh, this
<v Speaker 6>isn't exactly what I thought it was going to be,
<v Speaker 6>down to the way, like the way the battles work,
<v Speaker 6>where like they are getting rid of ivs and like
<v Speaker 6>individual values and they're getting like everything's going to be
<v Speaker 6>sort of flattened and be kind of similar.
<v Speaker 5>So I don't know, what do you think when you
<v Speaker 5>hear this stuff.
<v Speaker 1>So the losing of the ivy's part, I don't necessarily
<v Speaker 1>mind too much. And for the folks out there, ivs
<v Speaker 1>have always been this kind of hidden stat with all
<v Speaker 1>of your Pokemon. So people that go crazy for breeding
<v Speaker 1>Pokemon or shiny hunting, they would specifically seek individual values
<v Speaker 1>or stats that a Pokemon has that you kind of
<v Speaker 1>got to do some backdoor math. Now they've totally made
<v Speaker 1>it a little bit easier to track that with the
<v Speaker 1>most recent games. But the parts that are kind of
<v Speaker 1>bugging me a lot is the you are able to
<v Speaker 1>transfer Pokemon from Pokemon Home into the game, and so
<v Speaker 1>you could transfer theoretically Pokemon from Scarlet Violet, Sword and
<v Speaker 1>Shield Legends Archaeus into Pokemon Home and then and bring
<v Speaker 1>them into Pokemon Champions. But if you don't have the
<v Speaker 1>means to do that, you can go I forget what
<v Speaker 1>it's called scavenge for Pokemon or something and something like that. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>this is where it starts to get scummy in terms
<v Speaker 1>of micro transactions, because you can you'll get one free
<v Speaker 1>Pokemon that you can scavenge for and look for, but
<v Speaker 1>it's under a very limited time that you can actually
<v Speaker 1>use them. So, say you really want a cyther, you
<v Speaker 1>can pick to get that cyther, but it's there isn't
<v Speaker 1>define language as to how long you will have that cyther,
<v Speaker 1>so it could just be a week, could just be
<v Speaker 1>a season, or maybe a couple of days even But
<v Speaker 1>if you have victory points, you can choose that you
<v Speaker 1>can keep that cyther on your roster in your Pokemon
<v Speaker 1>storage box in Pokemon Champions for forever. But victory points
<v Speaker 1>are associated you win those from winning Pokemon matches, but
<v Speaker 1>it also seems like you also get those from spending money, yes,
<v Speaker 1>and so.
<v Speaker 6>That like what you're getting at here is pay to win, yes,
<v Speaker 6>or at the very least pay to win faster than
<v Speaker 6>a free to play a free to play player, And
<v Speaker 6>the question is how much faster it could be significant?
<v Speaker 1>It could be significant because victory points are look like
<v Speaker 1>they're going to be used not only to acquire Pokemon,
<v Speaker 1>but also to specifically train them in a specific way,
<v Speaker 1>like you want your Dragonite they show this in the
<v Speaker 1>trailer here to have higher special attack values or attack values.
<v Speaker 1>You can train them a certain way, but that takes
<v Speaker 1>victory points to do. The most messed up part of it, though,
<v Speaker 1>is to switch up their moves, which is a very
<v Speaker 1>integral part of battling, because sometimes you'll have a specific
<v Speaker 1>Pokemon have a more defensive move set, or a move
<v Speaker 1>set that really compliments other Pokemon on your party, or
<v Speaker 1>you're stalling a different team in some times you got
<v Speaker 1>to switch up the moves on the fly. To switch
<v Speaker 1>up moves, they also take victory points, and from the
<v Speaker 1>way from the subredits that I peruse, it looks like
<v Speaker 1>you're going to get two hundred victory points if you
<v Speaker 1>win a match, but it also may cost upwards to
<v Speaker 1>one hundred plus to two hundred to change a move.
<v Speaker 1>So if you just need to do like a small
<v Speaker 1>little adjustment to your team or your party, it's going
<v Speaker 1>to quickly add up. Yes, and this like thing of
<v Speaker 1>you know, getting different items, the different ways you recruit Pokemon,
<v Speaker 1>they all take and use victory points. So greb, it
<v Speaker 1>is going to be that thing where you if you
<v Speaker 1>were not using this premium battle pass or this premium
<v Speaker 1>membership they're talking about, you were going to have a
<v Speaker 1>little bit slower of a time to pick it.
<v Speaker 5>Up, Jean has said. In the chat, they stated explosively
<v Speaker 5>you can't buy VP, only earnt it. But there are
<v Speaker 5>other good transactions that they haven't detailed.
<v Speaker 6>Okay, and yes, they're like there was like a list
<v Speaker 6>of concerns I saw people have about pay to win,
<v Speaker 6>and I think it's fair to point out, like, you know,
<v Speaker 6>you do need to purchase the video games that people
<v Speaker 6>were talking about to like go get those Pokemon and
<v Speaker 6>the DLC. So there's a cost associated with just playing
<v Speaker 6>those games to get those Pokemon, but you do get
<v Speaker 6>a video game. When you do that, it's not just
<v Speaker 6>sort of access to these limited battles. I don't know,
<v Speaker 6>it's it's hard for.
<v Speaker 5>Me to get my mind around that. But yeah, this
<v Speaker 5>is all weird to me.
<v Speaker 1>I don't know if you'll ever you'll have seen the
<v Speaker 1>Fourth Matrix movie. Yeah, yeah, I remember little about it,
<v Speaker 1>but I did see it. You know when like Neo
<v Speaker 1>is like in the coffee shop and he's kind of
<v Speaker 1>like clicking back into the Matrix though of like, oh wait, no,
<v Speaker 1>I kind of see the code.
<v Speaker 2>Oh I remember everything. Yeah, right now, Yes, that's.
<v Speaker 5>Me right now, because I don't remember that scene. Damn.
<v Speaker 2>Because I.
<v Speaker 1>Even though there are these things that I don't like,
<v Speaker 1>there are plenty of things I started to see. I'm like,
<v Speaker 1>oh oh wait, well then let me ask you, Jane,
<v Speaker 1>how do you think this thing's gonna do. I think
<v Speaker 1>it's gonna do okay, uh Competitive Pokemon The VGC is
<v Speaker 1>a very niche scene, as is this, though could open
<v Speaker 1>it up more. It's gonna be on this switch one
<v Speaker 1>switch to it's eventually gonna be mobile, So I think
<v Speaker 1>it could do Gangbusters. It has the potential to do Gangbusters.
<v Speaker 1>I do need to mention though, Mikey, I know you
<v Speaker 1>don't like Mega evolutions. Okay, I know you don't as
<v Speaker 1>to why.
<v Speaker 2>I kind of forget, but they're adding new abilities for
<v Speaker 2>Mega for Alligator and Mega Meaganium that are gonna go
<v Speaker 2>crazy town bananas because.
<v Speaker 1>Yo Meganium gets Mega Soul, which means it can fire
<v Speaker 1>off solar beam in one turn.
<v Speaker 8>You don't gotta charge your turn, y'all, weather is gonna
<v Speaker 8>go crazy. I forget why you don't like Mega. I
<v Speaker 8>think it's self evident.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, I just keep talking.
<v Speaker 5>You'll get it eventually.
<v Speaker 2>Joll Meca for Ralligators gonna get dragonized.
<v Speaker 6>Y'all, Dan, you sound you sound like one of those
<v Speaker 6>clovicular or whatever he talks about bone smashing.
<v Speaker 5>Oh all right, yeah, yeah, go ahead.
<v Speaker 1>That being said, I mean it was a bombiton incentive
<v Speaker 1>to bring back Pokemonday Night Combat. Sure, this is what
<v Speaker 1>Seawn and I were waiting for, because this is going
<v Speaker 1>to be the means that the Pokemon Company is going
<v Speaker 1>to be eighth.
<v Speaker 5>Isn't that that's a couple of weeks son like.
<v Speaker 1>A look, so yeah, Seawann and I got to bring
<v Speaker 1>the the dust pans out the brooms. We're gonna sweep
<v Speaker 1>up the gym, get it all nice and tidy, paint
<v Speaker 1>several shades of different paint across the walls, and we'll
<v Speaker 1>be ready to fight y'all at home.
<v Speaker 6>All right, let's keep going your sega. Stranger than Heaven
<v Speaker 6>will headline an Xbox Partner event this week. They can
<v Speaker 6>feel like they just did one right and they're doing
<v Speaker 6>another one. Uh, last one was pretty good, and they're
<v Speaker 6>promising some cool stuff for this one. That's happening on
<v Speaker 6>Thursday at ten am Pacific one pm Easter, and it
<v Speaker 6>will have Stranger than Heaven from Rio Go Go to
<v Speaker 6>Go to Koo.
<v Speaker 2>Excuse me, of course I stumble on it.
<v Speaker 6>RGG Studio their next game, which was previously known as
<v Speaker 6>Project Century if you remember that. There will be an
<v Speaker 6>update for Stalker two, Heart of Chernobyl probably DLC if
<v Speaker 6>they're bringing it to this thing, and a new look
<v Speaker 6>at the expanse Osyrus Reborn, which is from Alcat, which
<v Speaker 6>is a like Beau is Outcat, the ones that did
<v Speaker 6>the Bulder's Gate enhanced editions.
<v Speaker 2>That sounds yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, that's that's them out Cat.
<v Speaker 6>Okay, Well, they're doing this and and people are starting
<v Speaker 6>to get pretty hyped up for this Expanse game because
<v Speaker 6>it looks mass effect to a certain degree.
<v Speaker 2>And uh yeah, I'm gonna be able to prove I
<v Speaker 2>said that question fiction and now actually I'm not sure. Okay,
<v Speaker 2>never mind. I don't know why. You know, it's just
<v Speaker 2>because he said, I'm like, that sounds right.
<v Speaker 5>They did Okay Trader, which people liked, and apparently the
<v Speaker 5>Path Fighter games as well.
<v Speaker 6>So okay, well, there seems like they're kind of upping
<v Speaker 6>their production value for this and they'll be able to
<v Speaker 6>kind of maybe prove it a little bit at this
<v Speaker 6>uh this you know, Developer director whatever they're calling it,
<v Speaker 6>Xbox Partner event. Yeah, there might be some surprises, but
<v Speaker 6>those are the three big things that will be there.
<v Speaker 6>They've done a good job with these.
<v Speaker 2>Beam Dog did the Dog. That's what it was.
<v Speaker 5>I was like, yeah, there's an animal name in that.
<v Speaker 5>People exact same thing.
<v Speaker 2>I gonna take my RPG card away.
<v Speaker 6>Now, Great Square Inox's partner at Google to put an
<v Speaker 6>AI chat in Dragon Quest ten.
<v Speaker 2>Let's go. Why what's happy? They never look eli Dragon
<v Speaker 2>Quest ten, I guest.
<v Speaker 6>Chatty Slimy as the AI companions in christ It is
<v Speaker 6>a slimy that will like pop up and like talk
<v Speaker 6>to you, like as you do things, and maybe give
<v Speaker 6>you suggestions about what you should be doing. And you
<v Speaker 6>can ask it questions, try to try to get it
<v Speaker 6>to say a slur. Everyone loves that. It's a good time. Yeah,
<v Speaker 6>they're they're partnering with Google on this. Uh, it's going
<v Speaker 6>to be in there.
<v Speaker 3>Can you all talked about the talking flower here?
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, give me the talking flower over there.
<v Speaker 5>I see he's ducked. He's ducked his responsibilities today. It's
<v Speaker 5>not even on the show.
<v Speaker 2>What was he doing? Yeah, he didn't put on the calendar.
<v Speaker 2>What the fuck?
<v Speaker 5>The chen shit boy? I just I hope this isn't
<v Speaker 5>coming from Fun Fantasy fourteen. Gosh about that. Yeah, it's
<v Speaker 5>They've had similar stuff in other games.
<v Speaker 6>Most famously, I think that Darth Vader Ai chappot in
<v Speaker 6>Fortnite that they did have to turn off.
<v Speaker 5>Because it was saying slurs.
<v Speaker 2>And we all see how great Fortnite's doing.
<v Speaker 6>Yeah, huh yeah, I mean this honestly, this one to
<v Speaker 6>me feels like square x people went to GDC. Google
<v Speaker 6>was there and they made the steal a couple of
<v Speaker 6>weeks ago, and it was happening.
<v Speaker 2>I don't know if I forget if we brought it
<v Speaker 2>up grub, but there was so much fucking AI.
<v Speaker 6>I definitely mentioned that that Google a I like, make
<v Speaker 6>a game with AI. Thing was jam packed, it was
<v Speaker 6>filled to the brand with developers there.
<v Speaker 2>So yeah, this is a it's it's it's dumb.
<v Speaker 6>I hope that like that, Like, I hope that they
<v Speaker 6>just make a better game instead of just saying, hey,
<v Speaker 6>talk to a chat out when you want to learn
<v Speaker 6>how to play our game.
<v Speaker 2>That's a dumb idea. I think, like, what what do
<v Speaker 2>you need to like parse out in a dragon Quest game?
<v Speaker 2>So Dragua soon is the MMO. That's the MMO one, Oh,
<v Speaker 2>that's the MMO. So like, yeah, like there's usually.
<v Speaker 5>A lot of things in these games, but I don't
<v Speaker 5>like you kind of you can explain how that works
<v Speaker 5>inside of your game.
<v Speaker 2>You can have tool tips, you can have a good yeah.
<v Speaker 5>Yeah, and this game's old exactly, it's I think it's
<v Speaker 5>getting its last major update soon, really, like last significant
<v Speaker 5>one I think I saw that was announced. Maybe, well,
<v Speaker 5>you know, you know what we used to do back
<v Speaker 5>in the day is we would ask the other people
<v Speaker 5>we were playing the game with because it's an MMO,
<v Speaker 5>I would be like, hey, friend, how do I turn
<v Speaker 5>off this thing? And then they would tell me, and
<v Speaker 5>then I would do it. I don't want to ask
<v Speaker 5>a fucking Slimy or whatever his name is and probably
<v Speaker 5>have him tell me the wrong thing. Anyways, Well, maybe
<v Speaker 5>you can get Chatty Slimmy to help you make some
<v Speaker 5>placeholder art for Crimson Desert.
<v Speaker 6>Like those developers did. They apologize for quote accidental inclusion
<v Speaker 6>of AI art and they promise a comprehensive audit.
<v Speaker 5>Basically, per Abyss.
<v Speaker 6>Left in some AI artwork that was very obvious. It
<v Speaker 6>looked like old AI art works. There was a horse
<v Speaker 6>with too many legs. Stuff that just doesn't happen on
<v Speaker 6>the stuff anymore. But then they came out they're like, oh,
<v Speaker 6>just snap, yeah, we didn't mean.
<v Speaker 2>To do that, was just placeholder, which no one really believes.
<v Speaker 5>We all mean that.
<v Speaker 2>Next thing, it's easy, yeah, yeah, I mean.
<v Speaker 5>I'm willing to like, I'm willing to give him a
<v Speaker 5>little bit of some good faith and be like, okay,
<v Speaker 5>you forgot to take it out, but this is why
<v Speaker 5>your temp art should just be a fusia and lime
<v Speaker 5>green checker box.
<v Speaker 2>So that it's obvious it's the temporary thing.
<v Speaker 6>So I don't believe him because it's like, if you
<v Speaker 6>intend to take something, you got to make it obvious,
<v Speaker 6>because yeah, hundreds of people work on a game, right,
<v Speaker 6>you've got to make it obvious to anyone who picks
<v Speaker 6>it up in a second that hey, this needs to
<v Speaker 6>be filled in eventually, so we don't forget.
<v Speaker 2>But Practice Sandfall had this same pitfall and it's again
<v Speaker 2>Expedition thirty three.
<v Speaker 5>Did the exec sampa, Yeah, Larryan was very excited about
<v Speaker 5>this possibility of doing this until everyone's like, don't we
<v Speaker 5>don't want this. I don't understand this obsession that somehow
<v Speaker 5>this is a big time saver or is going to
<v Speaker 5>make like the pre production of a game easier putting
<v Speaker 5>in the AI slop because yeah, like you said, Jeff,
<v Speaker 5>it was weird how early AI slap it was. But
<v Speaker 5>if it's better, that's bad because then it's really going
<v Speaker 5>to just.
<v Speaker 2>Stay in there.
<v Speaker 5>It's going to be in there, right, and then you
<v Speaker 5>know it puts me in the position again with this game.
<v Speaker 5>We're now like everything I'm lit, like even the music right,
<v Speaker 5>which like maybe sounds good, but now I'm like this
<v Speaker 5>sounds kind of generic?
<v Speaker 2>Is the music in this game?
<v Speaker 5>AI? What is AI?
<v Speaker 2>Is that? AI?
<v Speaker 5>Is this?
<v Speaker 2>AI?
<v Speaker 5>The how?
<v Speaker 2>Yes?
<v Speaker 5>It sucks? Everything is question mark now and it's it's
<v Speaker 5>no way to live and.
<v Speaker 2>I can't have Mikey experiencing that. I don't want I
<v Speaker 2>don't want to live like that.
<v Speaker 6>Minecraft Dungeons is getting a sequel this year and it's
<v Speaker 6>coming to PS five and switched to mo Yang and
<v Speaker 6>Microsoft have announced Minecraft Dungeons to a full sequel to
<v Speaker 6>the game, like you do a new settings and stuff
<v Speaker 6>like that, but it's mostly gonna play like the first one,
<v Speaker 6>which was, as a reminder, a diabolo like it was
<v Speaker 6>a new venture RPG or action RPG that very well.
<v Speaker 2>I apparently it did. Of the spinoffs, apparently this is
<v Speaker 2>the one that did.
<v Speaker 6>I don't know if it's like extraordinarily well, but it
<v Speaker 6>did well, and then its fan base seem to really
<v Speaker 6>really like it, so I think they're kind of trying
<v Speaker 6>to play to them again and it's like, oh, I'm
<v Speaker 6>excited about this. I know I forgot to play this
<v Speaker 6>with my kids now that they're into Minecraft, So go
<v Speaker 6>play that first one and see if they're into it.
<v Speaker 5>Maybe get this one. I bet that was in a
<v Speaker 5>huge investment to have to make it, and making a
<v Speaker 5>sequel presumably be even easier.
<v Speaker 2>Now, Yeah, go ahead and make a second one, yep.
<v Speaker 6>And then which are four? And and new IP at
<v Speaker 6>CD project get fresh updates. Basically, they're just kind of
<v Speaker 6>saying they're a publicly traded company in Poland, they have
<v Speaker 6>to give updates to their investors about what's going on,
<v Speaker 6>how many employees they have, who's working on What's pretty transparent.
<v Speaker 6>Cyberpunk two has one hundred and forty nine people working
<v Speaker 6>on it, but there's almost I think four hundred or
<v Speaker 6>four hundred and fifty, maybe almost five hundred people working
<v Speaker 6>on which are four? Yeah, it's almost five hundred people
<v Speaker 6>working on which is.
<v Speaker 2>Their next haalf of a epic games layoff?
<v Speaker 5>Yeah right, Jesus, So.
<v Speaker 2>That which are four coming along pretty fast. They are
<v Speaker 2>super invested in.
<v Speaker 6>They've hired up recently where I think they've added like
<v Speaker 6>fifty people or something like that.
<v Speaker 2>And then they have a new IP code named hat Are.
<v Speaker 6>Which has twenty six people sort of kind of chipping
<v Speaker 6>away at that as well. So yeah, things happening over
<v Speaker 6>at CD project read They definitely kind of pulled out
<v Speaker 6>of the nose dive that was the launch of Cyberpunk,
<v Speaker 6>completely turned things around. Now they seem to be set
<v Speaker 6>up for the future, you know, once they shed stuff
<v Speaker 6>like that we're gonna do a multiplayer cyberpunk game or whatever,
<v Speaker 6>and they're not doing any of that stuff anymore. Instead,
<v Speaker 6>it let's focus on what you're let's get into what
<v Speaker 6>Cyberpunk's set up, and then we'll try one other new
<v Speaker 6>thing that's kind of where they're at.
<v Speaker 5>Yeah, I'm curious to see what the new thing is,
<v Speaker 5>you know, because they have fantasy, they have sci fi,
<v Speaker 5>so you know, I hope you see something like a
<v Speaker 5>bit more interesting or offbeat. You know, we've done the
<v Speaker 5>two video game genres now, although you could do more
<v Speaker 5>sci fi than just the cyberpunk things. I hope it's
<v Speaker 5>not just you know, like when Night Dogs like, here's
<v Speaker 5>our big new IP sci fi. All right, great, fantastic.
<v Speaker 5>Well we're doing a brand new IP spaceship sci fi. Huh,
<v Speaker 5>like I forgot this is just spaceship sci fi?
<v Speaker 2>Is there new IP? I'm gonna lose my mind a bit.
<v Speaker 2>I agree it's coming.
<v Speaker 4>Uh Uh.
<v Speaker 6>There was one other thing, Yeah, Red Storm Ubisoft studio.
<v Speaker 6>I think there was rumors they were closing down. Yeah,
<v Speaker 6>they have officially, like I don't know if it's official,
<v Speaker 6>but the more reporting that they are not working on anything.
<v Speaker 6>They were helping out on a bunch of stuff, including
<v Speaker 6>Siege and Brahalla and Beyond Good and Evil too. They
<v Speaker 6>have shut down almost entirely, and sounds like more than
<v Speaker 6>one hundred jobs.
<v Speaker 5>Will be lost. So cool things still happening.
<v Speaker 1>Over again, someone in Chad is saying PlayStation is shutting down.
<v Speaker 1>Dark outlag Games, the Jason Blundell studio.
<v Speaker 2>I'm not familiar.
<v Speaker 6>I guess I remember Jason Blendell starting up something. I
<v Speaker 6>don't remember what it was going to do though, interesting, Okay,
<v Speaker 6>dark outlag Games is a new first party PlayStation.
<v Speaker 2>And they ever published anything even, I don't think.
<v Speaker 6>Yeah, it was announced in March of last year, and
<v Speaker 6>it was you know, Jason Blendell was the Call of
<v Speaker 6>Duty zombies guy.
<v Speaker 2>So interest weird, weird, weird, weird, weird, weird man. I
<v Speaker 2>was Fair Games still not like I mean fair being
<v Speaker 2>put out of its.
<v Speaker 6>Misery Fair Games and Beyond Good and Evil too, right, Yeah,
<v Speaker 6>zombie games that just you know, stumble through the night.
<v Speaker 2>It's weird.
<v Speaker 5>Jan that does it for the news. I'm handling the
<v Speaker 5>show back over to you. Thank you, folks.
<v Speaker 1>We're gonna go take a quick bricky break and be
<v Speaker 1>back with emails and YouTube super chats read after.
<v Speaker 5>The is.
<v Speaker 1>These are the emails for the emails shine bomb or
<v Speaker 1>send send emails us at BombCast shine bomb dot com. Uh,
<v Speaker 1>send it or you can write in about any and everything.
<v Speaker 1>We appreciate it. And as I've been saying for the
<v Speaker 1>last what you know what a couple months, been getting
<v Speaker 1>a lot of emails in the inbox that we can't
<v Speaker 1>nearly read everything. So I appreciate all of them. If
<v Speaker 1>someone says a very nice thing, I try and pass
<v Speaker 1>that along.
<v Speaker 2>To the crew.
<v Speaker 1>We have so many emails that we don't get to
<v Speaker 1>all of them, even the ones that I've highlighted here
<v Speaker 1>in this doc. Once again, BombCast johnbomb dot com. If
<v Speaker 1>you you know, if you wanna, if you need a
<v Speaker 1>recommendation about anything, you want to ask us about anything,
<v Speaker 1>send an email in all right. First email comes from
<v Speaker 1>Matt from Essex, Connecticut sub dudes. Recently, Grubb has made
<v Speaker 1>several references to Dusty Baker creating the high five. Well,
<v Speaker 1>this is generally believed to be true. The history of
<v Speaker 1>the high five is actually more nuanced than that, and
<v Speaker 1>I'd like to shed some light on it. All right,
<v Speaker 1>not quite a correction, but let's learn. There reports that
<v Speaker 1>the high five was a popular greeting Amongst American gis
<v Speaker 1>in post World War two Japan, although it shouldn't be
<v Speaker 1>noted here that there are only anecdotal reports of this.
<v Speaker 1>It's hard to substantiate. The high five gesture can be
<v Speaker 1>seen in Jean Luke Gooddard's movie Breathless, where two characters
<v Speaker 1>high five each other in one screen. The low five
<v Speaker 1>or give me some skin, was a popular greeting Amongst
<v Speaker 1>African Americans dating back to the nineteen twenties. Given Burks's
<v Speaker 1>involvement in sports, it's hard to imagine he was not
<v Speaker 1>aware of that gesture. Or Dusty Baker, I think they,
<v Speaker 1>I'd say, I also want to call out the man
<v Speaker 1>Baker gave his high fives to Glenn Burke. Burke was
<v Speaker 1>a gay man playing baseball in the nineteen seventies. It
<v Speaker 1>wasn't out, He wasn't out, but he didn't hide it.
<v Speaker 1>He received this from This led to his early retirement
<v Speaker 1>from baseball in nineteen eighty. He suffered from health problems
<v Speaker 1>and eventually died from complications from AIDS in nineteen ninety five.
<v Speaker 1>Just want to shed some light on the cool history
<v Speaker 1>of the high five and the often overlooked Glenn Burke
<v Speaker 1>Matt from Essex, Connecticut.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, I appreciate that.
<v Speaker 5>Sounds like a bunch of cool people doing cool stuff.
<v Speaker 2>That's what I like. That's a good high five. I
<v Speaker 2>love high five this weekend. I can't wait, it can't wait.
<v Speaker 1>Last time we did it, we cause an explosion, that
<v Speaker 1>is true, and then we died. I think, yeah, we're
<v Speaker 1>not actually here, Dad, Yeah, yeah, all right. The podcast
<v Speaker 1>another Matt writes in Hey gang, I've been fortunate enough
<v Speaker 1>in my life to live in two of the best
<v Speaker 1>areas in the country for consuming hot dogs. That would
<v Speaker 1>be New Jersey and Chicago. Growing up in New Jersey,
<v Speaker 1>we had good Old Nathan's. I would get them spicy
<v Speaker 1>brown mustard and sauerkraut. And for everyone in Jersey who
<v Speaker 1>really knows, there's Rut's Hut in Clifton Holma the Ripper.
<v Speaker 1>It's a deep fried hot dog that bursts open when cooked.
<v Speaker 1>Thus it's signature name the Ripper. Yeah, they have their
<v Speaker 1>own to.
<v Speaker 4>You from your family thirty years before you're supposed to die.
<v Speaker 2>I had been there and it was awesome. I remember that. Yeah,
<v Speaker 2>hell yah.
<v Speaker 1>And they have their own homemade signature relish which is
<v Speaker 1>unlike anything you've ever had.
<v Speaker 2>Then.
<v Speaker 1>Living in Chicago, we have the world of famous Chicago dog. Yes,
<v Speaker 1>all those toppings are necessary and the relish must be
<v Speaker 1>Neon green Well. I could never pick a favorite. I
<v Speaker 1>would pose this question to you, what's your favorite style
<v Speaker 1>of hot dog? And if you had to pick a
<v Speaker 1>side to go with a dog, which a pickin? And
<v Speaker 1>why is it a kinish fuck ice Matt Costco style?
<v Speaker 3>Nothing on it?
<v Speaker 2>I'm the same, nothing, nothing, dang. I not a damn thing,
<v Speaker 2>not a damn thing.
<v Speaker 5>I just like a baseball park hot dog, steamed ones,
<v Speaker 5>really soft soft bun, and I just get the the
<v Speaker 5>Cleveland has a kind of spicy brown mustard that we
<v Speaker 5>use here. That's all I want on it. It's just
<v Speaker 5>that spicy brown mustard.
<v Speaker 2>That's it. That's perfection to me.
<v Speaker 3>At a ballpark, you buy the extra cheese that comes
<v Speaker 3>with the nachos, and the extra like little pouch and
<v Speaker 3>then you dip the hot dog just full like it
<v Speaker 3>really fits in there.
<v Speaker 2>It's good. Yeah.
<v Speaker 6>Uh, give me a Coney Island hot dog when I'm
<v Speaker 6>in Michigan, which is kind of looks like a staring
<v Speaker 6>hot dog, has some chili on there, some onions. Skyline
<v Speaker 6>chili dog is also very good. Chicago dogs are good.
<v Speaker 6>A foot long chili dog from Sonic is really good.
<v Speaker 2>There's a lot of good hot dogs.
<v Speaker 5>I don't know what if I get for a side
<v Speaker 5>for I think the side I would want for my
<v Speaker 5>hot dog is another hot dog.
<v Speaker 2>Honestly, yes, yeah, is that.
<v Speaker 5>On it?
<v Speaker 2>And on the side's great with the hot dog.
<v Speaker 5>Just like a bag of late like I would never
<v Speaker 5>forget Plaine lace chips, but that's what I would want,
<v Speaker 5>I think is with my hot dog, just plain lays.
<v Speaker 3>Yeay, guys are about to see each other in uh
<v Speaker 3>in Boston, and I think you all, in the various
<v Speaker 3>times you've known me, have seen me grow a lot
<v Speaker 3>in terms of food items and things like that. If
<v Speaker 3>any of you confront me with Sauer Kraut in Boston,
<v Speaker 3>I will try it. Okay, it's time and.
<v Speaker 2>That's what it was, right. That's not like anyone watching now,
<v Speaker 2>you some.
<v Speaker 3>Some Mirando can't show up on a show floor with
<v Speaker 3>a handful of sour crowd, except it's got to be
<v Speaker 3>vetted sour crowd.
<v Speaker 2>You fellas. Do you remember trauma? Dude?
<v Speaker 5>You had souer Kraut in Germany with us?
<v Speaker 2>I did? Yes, Oh that's right.
<v Speaker 5>Yeah.
<v Speaker 2>The restaurant, the pork Knuckle. Did I like it?
<v Speaker 5>Oh?
<v Speaker 3>The one with the weird waiter. Oh yeah, the one
<v Speaker 3>that weird.
<v Speaker 5>It was really weird.
<v Speaker 2>Wait did I like it? I think you liked it? Yeah?
<v Speaker 3>Well then yeah, confront me with it. Still it's mustard too, remember,
<v Speaker 3>big no, no, no no, And I am promised. I
<v Speaker 3>had mustard in New Orleans on the a on a
<v Speaker 3>fried Maloney's sandwhich, oh hell, it was good. I'm fine
<v Speaker 3>with mustard. I still just like like when I get
<v Speaker 3>a quarter pounder, when I got shake check at the
<v Speaker 3>airport yesterday. I just get a plane. I just I
<v Speaker 3>really do like meat and cheese. There's a simplicity to it.
<v Speaker 3>If it if it has ketchup mustard on it, Sure,
<v Speaker 3>I'm not gonna balk at it, but I do like
<v Speaker 3>a plane will balking. I mean, I won't throw it
<v Speaker 3>away like I would at any point in the first,
<v Speaker 3>you know, forty one years of my life.
<v Speaker 4>I got a question is are we are we counting
<v Speaker 4>sausages as hot dogs?
<v Speaker 2>Yeah? It's got to be in a bun oh like yeah, yeah,
<v Speaker 2>if it's.
<v Speaker 5>I had a chicken sausage the other day, just like.
<v Speaker 2>Though, was it? If it was a knife and fork situation?
<v Speaker 2>It doesn't count? Well never mind?
<v Speaker 6>I mean, so, I think what we're saying is should
<v Speaker 6>account for our hot dog count in our discord?
<v Speaker 2>Is what you're I think for everything? Should okay, shouldn't
<v Speaker 2>count in life?
<v Speaker 5>And should it count?
<v Speaker 2>All right? I'm gonna I'm gonna make a pulse, so
<v Speaker 2>we'll just get a chat. I don't think you can.
<v Speaker 4>I appreciate it. And don't you know, I know it's
<v Speaker 4>my birthday on the fucking pander.
<v Speaker 2>Just just be honest. Yeah, it should should have worked.
<v Speaker 2>I did everything right. I don't know I did everything right.
<v Speaker 2>I did everything right? All right?
<v Speaker 1>Gang James Wright Sin asking about something that I feel
<v Speaker 1>like we could.
<v Speaker 2>All attest to. What up bombers? How do y'all deal
<v Speaker 2>with burnout? Playing games?
<v Speaker 1>I have been playing games for thirty years, since I
<v Speaker 1>was like four more and more of these days I
<v Speaker 1>sit and can't find anything I feel like playing these days?
<v Speaker 1>What does the team here do to get over these days?
<v Speaker 1>Love y'all kisses on the cheek, I mean, James.
<v Speaker 3>On the rare oc currency, Like there's not new stuff
<v Speaker 3>out that I'm actively playing. Like, I think that's a
<v Speaker 3>great time to just be like, you know what, I'm
<v Speaker 3>not gonna start going through that Caslvania Dominans collection or
<v Speaker 3>I'm gonna go back to an old favorite. Should I
<v Speaker 3>haven't played O Karina in a while, you know, Like
<v Speaker 3>that's I love retro games, like they are perfect for
<v Speaker 3>when you don't have a new thing you're actively working on.
<v Speaker 4>I think this is I can sympathize that can relate James.
<v Speaker 4>I also am going through it a little bit with
<v Speaker 4>did where he's where like this kid plays so much
<v Speaker 4>Minecraft in Fortnite, and I'm like, you gotta do you
<v Speaker 4>gotta play something else every now and then, right, And
<v Speaker 4>he was sick over the weekend and I was like, oh, dude,
<v Speaker 4>you never played Ratcheting Clank Riffed Apart And the kid
<v Speaker 4>fucking tore through it in two days.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, because it awesome game. So for it is underrated people. Yeah,
<v Speaker 2>it's star. I think it's four and a half star.
<v Speaker 2>You can't just throw out five stars.
<v Speaker 4>No, No, were not animals. I think, like, you know,
<v Speaker 4>he it came out in twenty twenty one, which I thought,
<v Speaker 4>which I was just sort.
<v Speaker 5>Of like possible.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, oh god that's and and he just like he
<v Speaker 2>just like broke his brain. He was just like, how
<v Speaker 2>is this so good? How's this amazing?
<v Speaker 1>What?
<v Speaker 5>You know?
<v Speaker 4>It's like because you're looking at Minecraft all day, butt head.
<v Speaker 5>Like what do you think?
<v Speaker 2>Right?
<v Speaker 5>It's like, I mean, I get it's I get why
<v Speaker 5>they stick with these forever games. But god, I wish
<v Speaker 5>I could shake him loose a little bit.
<v Speaker 4>How I mean, he's he played through Odyssey, He's like
<v Speaker 4>he's he's up for it. I think he just needs
<v Speaker 4>to be like distracted.
<v Speaker 2>Enough, you know.
<v Speaker 4>And then it got me think, sorry jan question First.
<v Speaker 1>Well, backler, I'm curious, because I'm always curious with younger
<v Speaker 1>gamers and gimmicks and everything, how they feel about like
<v Speaker 1>two D games or do you does that like rank
<v Speaker 1>lower for them?
<v Speaker 2>For some reason?
<v Speaker 4>I think it's hitter miss. He loves Geometry Dash, which
<v Speaker 4>is like the one of the most popular mobile games
<v Speaker 4>around and quite honestly, there's a there's like a community
<v Speaker 4>that makes custom levels for that game. And there's this
<v Speaker 4>one game called Abduct, a one level called Abduction, and
<v Speaker 4>it is like wildly impressive.
<v Speaker 2>Just so you want to play that on the site.
<v Speaker 5>We should do a string where we play some of
<v Speaker 5>these mobile games.
<v Speaker 4>I mean, and he's filthy, he will, he is, he
<v Speaker 4>plays stuff. I'm just like, oh, how are you not
<v Speaker 4>flopping around on the floor. He there's one it's called Abduction.
<v Speaker 4>It was it was made by some creator. It's striking
<v Speaker 4>and unbelievable to the point where it's like, how did
<v Speaker 4>one person do this?
<v Speaker 5>It's amazing. I don't know.
<v Speaker 4>You know, he also came across anime titties in one
<v Speaker 4>of them, So wow, you know I told you guys
<v Speaker 4>that story, right yeah, yeah, yeah, so you know that
<v Speaker 4>was an interesting weekend. But yeah, but I think it's
<v Speaker 4>like distracting him from so oh So to answer your question,
<v Speaker 4>so John Trudash is definitely a.
<v Speaker 5>Two D thing.
<v Speaker 4>He liked wonder. Yeah, he's not against it, he's not
<v Speaker 4>above it. I don't think he's look anyone under twenty.
<v Speaker 4>I don't think puts stuff into genres and is like, well,
<v Speaker 4>I only play this, and I think they're just like
<v Speaker 4>is that you know what I mean. I don't think
<v Speaker 4>there's that kind of like, uh compartmentalization that maybe we
<v Speaker 4>do as we are so kind.
<v Speaker 2>Of yeas from everything, I think a bit not for me,
<v Speaker 2>you know, Like, yeah, I think I'm surprised.
<v Speaker 6>My kids have mostly been like no, no, if that's
<v Speaker 6>just another video game, then you know that they're not
<v Speaker 6>like blown away by Super Mario Brothers Story the way
<v Speaker 6>I still am, of course. But they play plenty of
<v Speaker 6>two D games, you know. ADDIE's One of ADDIE's favorite
<v Speaker 6>games is that Peak Unique Oo game, which just a
<v Speaker 6>two D exploration game stuff like that.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, I'm gonna I'm gonna give him this sleepy person game.
<v Speaker 4>I think that's got interest uh maybe Peak for him
<v Speaker 4>a little bit there, But.
<v Speaker 5>Yeah, I don't know, you know, I I do struggle
<v Speaker 5>with it. I do.
<v Speaker 4>I'm always trying to find like the like Astrobot is
<v Speaker 4>like the Peak, right. Sure he still plays that every
<v Speaker 4>now and then where he's just like, man, this is
<v Speaker 4>so Ratchet and Clank did it for him?
<v Speaker 2>For sure? He just blew through it in two days.
<v Speaker 2>I wonder what he would take it.
<v Speaker 5>I wonder what he would think of Demon Tides, that
<v Speaker 5>new indie three D platformer.
<v Speaker 2>It's really good. It's good.
<v Speaker 5>I know you don't like probably the art style and
<v Speaker 5>the characters in that one, Dan, right, but he's played
<v Speaker 5>so good.
<v Speaker 4>He's probably two years away from me letting him just
<v Speaker 4>blow through all the uncharted.
<v Speaker 2>Sure, that's gonna be fun.
<v Speaker 6>Narrative dissonance conversation, ready to go. He's doing a lot
<v Speaker 6>of people on screen.
<v Speaker 4>But it's just paintball, right, It's just a paintball game,
<v Speaker 4>lovely murder, just like you know the fun Mark simply has.
<v Speaker 5>Has dib checked out Psychonauts at all?
<v Speaker 2>Oh he did? He watched me play two?
<v Speaker 5>Is great?
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, he watched me play most of that game. But
<v Speaker 4>I don't know, you know, yeah, that that would be
<v Speaker 4>an interesting like I would really have to force him
<v Speaker 4>to stick with it for a.
<v Speaker 2>Little bit, you know, right right, More narrative happening there.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, there's a lot more going on. I think that,
<v Speaker 4>you know, I think maybe a couple more years.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, well yeah, well we'll see anyway to answer, uh,
<v Speaker 1>let's see who's whose email is this? H James James
<v Speaker 1>go check out a game that you used to really
<v Speaker 1>like or I don't know. The back catalog of stuff
<v Speaker 1>is insane.
<v Speaker 2>Right to take the time back and be like, okay,
<v Speaker 2>I'm not into games right in this moment. Now the
<v Speaker 2>you know, I'll go read a book. I've been putting
<v Speaker 2>this book off or forever. Go do that.
<v Speaker 6>And then once you get halfway through the book and
<v Speaker 6>realize you hate reading, go You'll be like, oh.
<v Speaker 2>It's time to go back to video games.
<v Speaker 1>Maybe it'll maybe it'll remember you don't know how to read,
<v Speaker 1>and then like, oh games, I can press a button
<v Speaker 1>all right. Kyle from Scotland right say, hey, guys, I've
<v Speaker 1>never played a Castlevania or Metro game before. As leading
<v Speaker 1>world experts, where would you all start with both series?
<v Speaker 2>Thanks Call from Scotland.
<v Speaker 3>Simply The Night and Metroid Prime one or Super Metroid.
<v Speaker 2>Is pretty good. Maybe zero mission zero mission.
<v Speaker 5>Zero mission is good and it's like it's a bit
<v Speaker 5>more it guides the player a bit more. So it's
<v Speaker 5>good starting there. It's on Nso the thing was simply
<v Speaker 5>The Night is that it's not easy to play that
<v Speaker 5>everywhere right now you want to get into uh, you know,
<v Speaker 5>other things like there's that they made that one collection
<v Speaker 5>for PlayStation right with Rondo.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, still it still baffles me.
<v Speaker 5>You can't play simply the Night on like Steam or
<v Speaker 5>Switch right now, but if thought that one, you could
<v Speaker 5>get that advanced collection and play like Ario Sorrow first
<v Speaker 5>and that'll still do you really well.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, a lot of like advanced ones.
<v Speaker 3>Are like up there, like Symphony is my favorite, but
<v Speaker 3>like that dominant collection in the advanced collection, Like, yeah,
<v Speaker 3>I played through those recently and it's like these are
<v Speaker 3>right up there.
<v Speaker 2>They're all good. They're all good for sure. Yeah. I
<v Speaker 2>think Simp that would be the one there. If not that,
<v Speaker 2>maybe Aria Metroid.
<v Speaker 5>You have some options if you want to do two
<v Speaker 5>D yeah, I think Zero Mission is a good place, sorry,
<v Speaker 5>or Super Metroid. And if you want to do the
<v Speaker 5>newest one, you can do Dread and that work. You
<v Speaker 5>can just do Dread.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, just get Dread.
<v Speaker 1>Dread that it's very slick, uh fantastic. All right, last
<v Speaker 1>email here, we got a little quiz and this is
<v Speaker 1>specifically a quiz for Dan. I guess you guys can
<v Speaker 1>chime in. Hey, I put together a little name quiz
<v Speaker 1>for Dan. You know a man who clearly has this
<v Speaker 1>whole last name thing figured out now, smiley face emoji
<v Speaker 1>rules are simple. Guess the country from the last name.
<v Speaker 1>Oh god, Okay, all right, we'll just rapid fire through these. Dan,
<v Speaker 1>there's ten of these, okay, okay, O'Connor, Ireland, Yes, Kim.
<v Speaker 2>Korea? Yes?
<v Speaker 5>Uh?
<v Speaker 2>Which one.
<v Speaker 8>You know?
<v Speaker 2>I think this? Uh Muller, Muller. This is Robert Mueller.
<v Speaker 2>And with that the two dots about the U Germany.
<v Speaker 2>That's that's cheating, all.
<v Speaker 1>Right, I mean okay, three for three so far, Dan
<v Speaker 1>Kowalski or the fanatics here Kowalski.
<v Speaker 2>Poland yes, this this we.
<v Speaker 5>Are peaking behind the curtain.
<v Speaker 6>Okay, Like he does know these things, he just like
<v Speaker 6>won't activate his brain when Italians, I.
<v Speaker 3>Told you my goal this year is to get on
<v Speaker 3>a game show. I need to stay sharp with this stuff.
<v Speaker 2>There we go, what's it's a game show? I've a
<v Speaker 2>nova spell it, I V A O v A.
<v Speaker 3>I've things I'm gonna go with Italy Russia.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, okay, Now.
<v Speaker 5>The BWEL thing, it's wrong all the time, be clear,
<v Speaker 5>not even closes sounding like an Italian surname.
<v Speaker 2>It's aowel.
<v Speaker 3>The last Letterwel it's gotta be Italian.
<v Speaker 2>It's not an absolute rule, but the Russian name sound Russian,
<v Speaker 2>and that was obviously I don't know what Russian last
<v Speaker 2>names are. Yeah, but like Autoshian last name always has
<v Speaker 2>the off in it, like yeah.
<v Speaker 5>Back when it happened to val has the vowels. It's
<v Speaker 5>a good chance to tell you're like all the time.
<v Speaker 5>And we said no, no.
<v Speaker 3>Advice, just like wow, it was just bad advice. You
<v Speaker 3>steered me wrong. That's why I had a perfect recording here.
<v Speaker 5>First name Vladimir?
<v Speaker 2>What could it be? What could it be?
<v Speaker 1>There was only a last name here, I know, uh okay,
<v Speaker 1>continue on Nakajima Japanese.
<v Speaker 3>Yes, that was a vowel Italian.
<v Speaker 1>You're the one who took that rule and ran to
<v Speaker 1>the moon with it. Jesus Christ, that's my friends. Papadopolis Greek. Yes, wow,
<v Speaker 1>uh ver tin ver Tanin oh oh oh, these last
<v Speaker 1>three I I.
<v Speaker 2>Wouldn't be able to do it.
<v Speaker 3>Sounds like Nordic, Denmark, Finland. Okay, I'm given points.
<v Speaker 5>That's that's yeah, better than.
<v Speaker 2>Uh Popescu Popescu, I wouldn't know this, dam Well, that's
<v Speaker 2>the vows that's got to be Italian.
<v Speaker 1>Uh, Austria, Romania, Okay, okay, okay, last one here uh
<v Speaker 1>Yawn's daughter, Yon's daughter.
<v Speaker 3>Nordic Finland, Iceland. Okay, I've been to Iceland.
<v Speaker 2>Okay, there we go.
<v Speaker 5>Very good, damn very good or close except for that
<v Speaker 5>it's Italy. One man, you just you just heard. I
<v Speaker 5>think he he took it in a way that was
<v Speaker 5>like the Italian blind. Yeah, I think he just doesn't
<v Speaker 5>see DAWs.
<v Speaker 2>Where's my wife? I'm married into an extremely Italian. They're
<v Speaker 2>so Italian, worse closely with the Vinty Caravella for.
<v Speaker 5>So long.
<v Speaker 2>Family.
<v Speaker 3>I go over there frequently.
<v Speaker 5>Yeah, that's that's the most.
<v Speaker 1>You know.
<v Speaker 4>We're here glazing you like, oh you're not as you know,
<v Speaker 4>brain dead as we thought, and then you just walk
<v Speaker 4>it back.
<v Speaker 2>Can I I have a quick game show as well,
<v Speaker 2>real quick. You guys can work together on this.
<v Speaker 6>I posted a an image into all the Stars are
<v Speaker 6>Here and our discord. I'm going to describe it for
<v Speaker 6>the audio listeners while you guys look at it. There
<v Speaker 6>is a lady with cutoff sleeves.
<v Speaker 2>This is an ad from a magazine, and I want
<v Speaker 2>you just to tell me what the ad is for
<v Speaker 2>oh you post it. Yes, it's a lady.
<v Speaker 6>This is a slightly different one. It's a lady in
<v Speaker 6>a magazine. She's got cut off sort of leather thing.
<v Speaker 6>She looks like, you know, maybe mad Maxie. Her hair
<v Speaker 6>is all like blowing back and she's looking down on
<v Speaker 6>the ground at something, and the background is kind of.
<v Speaker 2>A yellowish, deserty cloudy.
<v Speaker 3>Background I've seen a million times.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah. Okay, uh, Mike, you're asking is it a video game? Yeah? Okay, okay,
<v Speaker 2>it's for hardware. Okay, what I think this is a
<v Speaker 2>late game gear? Ad? Okay, I'll say any other guesses,
<v Speaker 2>all right, any other guess is from surf or for
<v Speaker 2>jan I was gonna say Ball's garana.
<v Speaker 4>Wait what it's for hardware?
<v Speaker 5>Yeah, for a piece of hardware. Like, yes, hardware is
<v Speaker 5>probably the best way to put it.
<v Speaker 2>It is now up on the screen for people watching
<v Speaker 2>the pod.
<v Speaker 5>It says we slammed when suddenly, my this.
<v Speaker 2>Is like that Yosi's Island. Fake at it? Are you
<v Speaker 2>like stupid?
<v Speaker 5>Is it like a like a what was that handheld
<v Speaker 5>game game?
<v Speaker 4>Dot?
<v Speaker 1>The engage engages at the end, Gage you guys like
<v Speaker 1>you guys are all like on like a pretty.
<v Speaker 2>No, it's a pretty virtual boy.
<v Speaker 5>It's virtual boy. Yeah, God, what can you see it?
<v Speaker 2>All right? Glare shitting it a little boy?
<v Speaker 3>I do think my favorite just aesthetic tone. Everything is
<v Speaker 3>like mid to late nineties e gm ads. Every time,
<v Speaker 3>every time I work with an artist and they're like,
<v Speaker 3>what what are you going for? I just like I
<v Speaker 3>send him an issue of game players in EGM like
<v Speaker 3>make it look like this, yeah, just everything to still
<v Speaker 3>be like that.
<v Speaker 2>I was gonna say, this is like a turtle Beach
<v Speaker 2>sound card, yeah, or one of those magnifying lenses over
<v Speaker 2>a game boy, the game boy, the big ass.
<v Speaker 4>I can't believe it was a virtual boy. That makes
<v Speaker 4>no sense.
<v Speaker 5>Makes sense?
<v Speaker 2>Man, You'll remember where were they called? Like earthworm lights,
<v Speaker 2>like the little quiggly one. Got a couple of them.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, those are so cool anyways, happening. That does it
<v Speaker 1>for emails BombCast giant bomb dot com. Thank you to
<v Speaker 1>everyone for sending your emails in apologies if we don't
<v Speaker 1>get to them. Uh, there is no favoritism happening.
<v Speaker 2>I promise you. I magic living in a wasteland and
<v Speaker 2>you come across a virtual boy like, so.
<v Speaker 5>What, I haven't had water in two woods.
<v Speaker 2>It's not gonna work. I tell you what.
<v Speaker 4>I would still be pretty excited a virtual boy here
<v Speaker 4>of all places.
<v Speaker 5>Cool.
<v Speaker 2>I could just plug it in.
<v Speaker 1>You could use it as like a cool like visor
<v Speaker 1>and maybe that's your new wasteland names like.
<v Speaker 2>Oh, that's allies that are left on Earth. Yeah, it
<v Speaker 2>also looks a virtual point now.
<v Speaker 4>The person was wearing sort of like a Mortal Combat.
<v Speaker 5>Yeah, it's like sub Zero mixed with the kid from
<v Speaker 5>Mad Max two.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah. Yeah, wow, I know what.
<v Speaker 5>Yeah, good thing.
<v Speaker 4>Magazines are dead right. No, No, I'm kiddingding.
<v Speaker 1>Folks at home, the show's not done yet. Because mister
<v Speaker 1>Manati hit me with some YouTube super chats if we
<v Speaker 1>have any.
<v Speaker 5>We do have some from randomly ROSSI. Mikey is the
<v Speaker 5>only one doing launch looks anyways. Why does anyone else
<v Speaker 5>even get us? Say?
<v Speaker 2>Look, these are my great great I don't think interest.
<v Speaker 2>I think we're a team. But we should come to
<v Speaker 2>decisions together, is what I guess.
<v Speaker 5>I'm I'm my big My big worry now is that
<v Speaker 5>Dan's gonna think lesson. Dan's gonna think that I'm like
<v Speaker 5>unleashing my army to get my way with Launch looks Now.
<v Speaker 3>No, no, it's a group thing.
<v Speaker 2>I support you, Mike. Look, Lonchiton didn't take either.
<v Speaker 3>Between the two, I don't know, they're both pretty rough.
<v Speaker 3>I don't think we need the word launch. I think
<v Speaker 3>we move away from launch. WHOA really release? There's new,
<v Speaker 3>there's other words we can play with. Oh okay, well
<v Speaker 3>let's see what else we can cook with the next
<v Speaker 3>one release. What's like the next game that this might
<v Speaker 3>happen for Pragmata.
<v Speaker 2>I mean I can't Pragmata. Maybe Pragmata soon. Yeah, yeah,
<v Speaker 2>we'll see.
<v Speaker 5>Slain MC also says only two hundred and fifty nine
<v Speaker 5>days until Mike Mnoni's birthday. Happy early birthday, buddy, thank
<v Speaker 5>you Slam.
<v Speaker 2>I thought it was weird. Nobody said it yet some
<v Speaker 2>of the bitch tick wid said, actual, happy birthday. JURF
<v Speaker 2>also forty four.
<v Speaker 5>Oh nice, is that this person's birthdays?
<v Speaker 2>Well? Cool, let's see some forty four is in chat again?
<v Speaker 5>Everybody four untim moral says when gunplus stream, I'll send
<v Speaker 5>him if I have to.
<v Speaker 2>This is like the Gundam's model kids, right, yeah, yeah, yeah.
<v Speaker 2>What what were we doing recently?
<v Speaker 5>Oh?
<v Speaker 1>The keyword stream and then people thought, oh I'd also
<v Speaker 1>watch a gunplug building stream.
<v Speaker 2>Oh okay, why not both? Why not both? Yeah?
<v Speaker 5>Just Rex says, I can't believe people are shocked this
<v Speaker 5>game the savage at best with time of Crimson Dessert.
<v Speaker 5>You could see for trailers that had no solar sauce.
<v Speaker 5>Looks like it was made in a lab. Uh yeah,
<v Speaker 5>I mean asked against, Like I want to give some
<v Speaker 5>benefit of doubt. I'm sure people were like I'm sure
<v Speaker 5>people were passionate and or do you know, trying to
<v Speaker 5>do good work. It looks some people like it, right, sure,
<v Speaker 5>so it's in. Hey it has sold well, Okay, you
<v Speaker 5>gotta get I'll give it that somehow.
<v Speaker 2>It's the marketing team. Whatever they did was an excellent job.
<v Speaker 1>You know what the motive for the marketing side. I
<v Speaker 1>like that they're also rolling with all the seven out
<v Speaker 1>of ten's on, like their ad campaigns on top of it,
<v Speaker 1>like the nine and like eight.
<v Speaker 2>Migsy says is Jeff Beckler the Gloomy Boy Games Media.
<v Speaker 2>Would you like that?
<v Speaker 1>Okay, it's fair, it's fair uh practice, Okay, Cocha chev Alway,
<v Speaker 1>Jeff grab blah blah blah, Dan Record and.
<v Speaker 2>The Gloomy by.
<v Speaker 5>The Skipper it just feels normal.
<v Speaker 2>Is that.
<v Speaker 5>Feels right? Like putting on a pair of jeans that
<v Speaker 5>have been broken in?
<v Speaker 2>Okay, chief, your officer.
<v Speaker 4>That's pretty good. Let's not press our luck here.
<v Speaker 2>I like it.
<v Speaker 5>Uh, Mixy's back, says Jeff Grubb. Will Commander Keene ever
<v Speaker 5>make our return? They announced then canceled that mobile Commander
<v Speaker 5>Keen game, and that's the last we've heard of that. Yeah,
<v Speaker 5>there was some mobile.
<v Speaker 6>Ports of Commander Keen games, so I remember checking those
<v Speaker 6>out after reading the Doom book, right Masters Doom, Right, Yeah,
<v Speaker 6>that's what's going on Commander King game.
<v Speaker 2>But yeah, I don't know. I don't think it'll ever
<v Speaker 2>come back. I want to play a Commander King games.
<v Speaker 2>See how that feels.
<v Speaker 5>Commander Ken exists because yeah, the the the people figure
<v Speaker 5>out how to do side scrolling on computer games, and
<v Speaker 5>originally wanted to just make a Mario three port, but
<v Speaker 5>the tennis and no, and then they make Commander Keen instead.
<v Speaker 2>It's awesome.
<v Speaker 5>And then Mixy says, was Mike looks not considered? Look
<v Speaker 5>I be there might not always be.
<v Speaker 3>Its a Pokemon game like I'm looking for rhyme was
<v Speaker 3>released now and seeing what we can work with release,
<v Speaker 3>at least.
<v Speaker 6>In my original point has always been, it doesn't need
<v Speaker 6>a name. That's stick that out Brandon, I yeah, Brandon
<v Speaker 6>on the site. All you want, guys, have fun, kuck
<v Speaker 6>yourselves out.
<v Speaker 2>Like I do, like I do, like Chuck's wife's idea.
<v Speaker 2>A new game. Wo dis yeh new game? Who is fun?
<v Speaker 3>That's better than any of the launch stuff?
<v Speaker 2>Not try that one? Would that be? And g w
<v Speaker 2>d see No I also want the Yeah, I don't mind,
<v Speaker 2>we just call it who is for short?
<v Speaker 5>Or something? Yeah?
<v Speaker 2>All right, any more, super chats mister Mananti. That appears
<v Speaker 2>to be it. Thank you so much, everybody appreciate it.
<v Speaker 1>Fantastic boys. We got an interesting week ahead of us,
<v Speaker 1>but it is still packed with things. Uh. Nine Lives
<v Speaker 1>of Mister Mistopha Fleas. The newest episode releases after the
<v Speaker 1>podcast today, Episode four Grub. Surely you remember what's happening.
<v Speaker 2>Now?
<v Speaker 1>All right, came mornings popping off Wednesday and Thursday, not Friday,
<v Speaker 1>Wednesday and Thursday. We're gonna send our boy to space,
<v Speaker 1>or he's gonna still be there in space, the space
<v Speaker 1>Ace himself.
<v Speaker 2>Dan Riker's blightening round game right.
<v Speaker 1>Having a real nice weekend back that was such a
<v Speaker 1>genuine cuss.
<v Speaker 5>Yeah.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, it's like stubbing your toe mad.
<v Speaker 3>It is fucked up because it is somehow both Blake
<v Speaker 3>Club and this is the run.
<v Speaker 2>Yep, you know we can see like what do you remember?
<v Speaker 5>Like how much can you stitch together week to week?
<v Speaker 5>That's gonna be a big point.
<v Speaker 3>I think the platforming stuff I will get pretty quickly
<v Speaker 3>again once I go back back to those levels. I
<v Speaker 3>think I'll remember certain things from the Space Maze. They're
<v Speaker 3>like all lefts, all rights. But like I have, I
<v Speaker 3>did draw out. I think it took a while of
<v Speaker 3>going through the archive of our stream and drawing out
<v Speaker 3>where I've been so far.
<v Speaker 1>So I've got some of that. But oh boy, that
<v Speaker 1>shit sucks. Yeah, yeah it doesn't. It doesn't look nice either.
<v Speaker 1>Voicemail Dump Truck is moved to Wednesday this week, folks,
<v Speaker 1>because some of us will be in transit on Thursday.

<v Speaker 1>haven't checked out the last Titter released last Saturday, go

<v Speaker 1>think this format of Titter being a game show, I
<v Speaker 1>really really like it's.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, I love it. I love it, And there's other
<v Speaker 2>ones we can do with that too. I think we
<v Speaker 2>should try the millionaires.
<v Speaker 1>We should try and get all five of us to
<v Speaker 1>do a family feud run I agree, and then we
<v Speaker 1>should switch off doing the fast money round at the
<v Speaker 1>very end.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, Hey, we're going to Millionaire packs.

<v Speaker 3>I'm like, I am okay going in blind on this
<v Speaker 3>because this seems like some Vinnie ass horseshit.

<v Speaker 2>on Yeah this one. Yes.
<v Speaker 1>If if it wasn't too late to change the name

<v Speaker 1>packs East back large. Does that code still work if
