Why Choose to Study Radiography at University Los 2

<v Speaker 1>So my name is Amy Morgan and I'm about to
<v Speaker 1>go into my second year of therapeutic radiography. So I
<v Speaker 1>decided to go to university. One for the experience. Two
<v Speaker 1>because even though I've changed my mind slightly over my
<v Speaker 1>career choice, they all require a degree to practice. It's
<v Speaker 1>a different experience to be able to go to university
<v Speaker 1>and even just the pride of having a degree. Therapeutic
<v Speaker 1>radiography is the study and curing of cancer using radiotherapy.
<v Speaker 1>We use radiation to kill cancer cells and hopefully give
<v Speaker 1>that patient the best chance of survival. Even though there's
<v Speaker 1>only seventeen of us, we do mix with another group
<v Speaker 1>and there are about eighty of us in our physics
<v Speaker 1>and our biology lectures, so it gives us a bit
<v Speaker 1>more of a chance to interact with other students. We
<v Speaker 1>get to go on placement, so obviously we do have
<v Speaker 1>time outside of university, but we have the facilities as
<v Speaker 1>well of having a virtual simulation and we call it
<v Speaker 1>vert here, so it gives you the opportunity to practice
<v Speaker 1>ready to go on to placement, how to move the equipment,
<v Speaker 1>and we also use it for our practical assessments so
<v Speaker 1>that our lecturers can see whether or not we are
<v Speaker 1>competent and safe to work outside. My time mostly whils
<v Speaker 1>I'm at university is spent a mixture between being at university,
<v Speaker 1>being with friends, and being at home. So I think
<v Speaker 1>the thing I'm enjoying most about the course is the
<v Speaker 1>people I get on particularly well with about for other students,
<v Speaker 1>we spend a lot of time together, We have a
<v Speaker 1>lot of fun both inside and outside of university. I
<v Speaker 1>think they are friends that will have for the rest
<v Speaker 1>of my life and they'll definitely know who I'm talking about.
<v Speaker 2>Going to university isn't just about doing a course more
<v Speaker 2>than just doing your UNI words, because it really helps
<v Speaker 2>you get to know new people. When you're picking a
<v Speaker 2>UCCEs pick something that you love, something that you're good at,
<v Speaker 2>and something that you think is going to be useful.
<v Speaker 2>No matter what course you do, it's not so much
<v Speaker 2>about what specific subjects you learn in that course. It's
<v Speaker 2>about the skills that you developed during the course.
