00:00:02 Speaker 1: Welcome back to Bachelor Happy Hour. 00:00:04 Speaker 2: It's Cheerity and I am here with Rachel and we are recording on April third. We are so excited because we are interviewing some more guys from Taylor's caz. We can't wait to show them off to you guys. So let's not keep you guys waiting and get right into it. 00:00:19 Speaker 3: We have thirty two year old physical therapists from Miami, Florida, Kevin. Welcome to Bachelor Happy Hour. We are so happy you're here. 00:00:26 Speaker 4: Thank you very much. I'm excited to be here. 00:00:28 Speaker 1: Yeah, oh my goodness. 00:00:30 Speaker 2: Okay, we've been kind of just starting off with just assessing and checking in with all of you guys and kind of just getting a feel of how you guys have been feeling for the past few weeks with obviously everything that's going on the news. 00:00:43 Speaker 1: So how are you holding up? 00:00:44 Speaker 5: Then? 00:00:45 Speaker 1: Walk us through that. 00:00:46 Speaker 4: I mean, definitely overwhelmed, to say the least. It was a lot worse obviously once the news dropped. It was like, you know, NonStop phone blowing up and this and that. But it was, uh, it's yeah, it's a lot, it's it's a lot of just a lot of stuff. A lot of social media. You know, I'm not really used to like huge social media presence or anything like that, but it's calmed down over the last week or so, and now I'm just kind of just anxious, like waiting for the next step, like what's gonna happen, What's going on? You know, I just it's I'm just nervous and excited for what's to come. 00:01:22 Speaker 6: Yeah, No, totally understandable. 00:01:24 Speaker 3: I feel like there is that nervousness, but also it's fair to have a little bit of disappointment with kind of everything that's happening. 00:01:30 Speaker 6: Are you feeling that. 00:01:33 Speaker 4: I have, you know how many and especially being kind of the only one for Miami. Miami is it's a huge city, but it's also you know, this big so everybody kind of knows everyone, and it's it's it's it's its own little bubble. So I had so many people just excited to just see me on the screen, you know. 00:01:49 Speaker 6: And it's kind of watch parties. 00:01:51 Speaker 4: Watch parties, this and that, and I'm like, yeay, can we watch together. I'm like, yeah, you got to stand in line behind everyone else, like my mother's priority. I gotta watch it with her. 00:01:58 Speaker 6: Yes, But so. 00:02:00 Speaker 4: Yeah, it's a little disappointing not giving them that satisfaction, let alone like my own satisfaction that yeah, totally. Yeah. 00:02:09 Speaker 1: Okay, walk us through how you. 00:02:11 Speaker 2: Got onto the Bachelorette, Like, how did that journey start? 00:02:15 Speaker 4: Okay, so journey started. So I've been single for a few years now. 00:02:18 Speaker 6: I don't want to talk about it, but anyway, we're going to talk about all. 00:02:22 Speaker 4: We're talking about. That's exactly why we're hearing to talk about that. So I don't know how this casting came up, but somebody sent it to me, or multiple people send it to me, and I kind of just had it sitting there, you know, like for a week or two almost, and one day I got home, I'm like, f it, let's just let me just let me just send in an audition. And I got a call the very next day, and here. 00:02:45 Speaker 3: I am, Wow, Oh my gosh, what was that process? 00:02:49 Speaker 4: Like? 00:02:49 Speaker 6: Did it take months. 00:02:50 Speaker 1: For you to get there? 00:02:51 Speaker 4: Oh my god? 00:02:53 Speaker 6: Or what was that like? 00:02:54 Speaker 4: It was exhausting, to be honest with you, it was almost like a part time job just getting all the requirements for this. Yeah. Yeah, it's a lot of information. Every day's a new thing, and being on East coast and them being on West coast. I would get emails at like ten pm, yeah, like hey have this done? End of day. I'm like, it is the end of day. Yeah, yeah, Like I got my Jammi's. 00:03:17 Speaker 1: On, I'm ready. 00:03:19 Speaker 4: So like that was that was a little difficult. And you know, there's so much information that that they needed for me, and I didn't even know half the information. I had to like dig. 00:03:28 Speaker 6: Deep, like blood type? 00:03:30 Speaker 4: Can I blood type? Right? 00:03:33 Speaker 6: So for security, unborn. 00:03:35 Speaker 4: Child's name, what do you want this? And that, Like they want to know everything that I don't even know. So yeah, it was. It was definitely a long time, and it took I would say a month and a half to two months, and so yeah, it was like just a long process. To be honest with you. 00:03:50 Speaker 2: Did you know anything like about her like once she was in zero things? 00:03:54 Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, zero things. I had a bunch of my friends just text me like, oh my god, it's gonna Taylor And I'm like, oh my god, who is that? I have no idea. And so they were telling me about all the drama surrounding her and this and that, and like you know, obviously it's like the elephant in the room. You can't ignore it. But I just had no idea. I was like, look, it's gonna be fun. I'm just gonna go with an you know, open mind and then just enjoy the experience. Like I went for the experience and then whatever happens happens kind of thing, because once you get closed off, you're just not enjoying yourself. Yeah. 00:04:26 Speaker 3: No, I feel like it's a good way to go into it, kind of open minded. Did you research her at all? Like, were you aware of the main thing? 00:04:32 Speaker 4: I tried not to research her, but it was impossible for the few people that I did tell about this process for them not to tell me not to like it was exactly. They're like, you know, she's this, this, this, and she has this is that. I'm like, okay, okay, okay. It was it was kind of you know, it was it was it was bound to happen. 00:04:51 Speaker 3: Yeah, did you have any hesitations with some of the things that you heard? 00:04:55 Speaker 4: Of course, of course, it's hard. It's impossible not to ignore like, yeah, these these you know, act usations and these allegations and stuff like that. It's because it's you know, it's it's right there. It's blown up. But like I said, I had to just it was. It happened a while ago, so I don't really I don't know anything about her, and it's things you see on the internet is not really what it is in person and in real life. So I kind of had to, you know, have that mentality for it and just had to do my best to kind of ignore that and clean slate when I walked in. 00:05:25 Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, okay, So take us to night one. What was that experience like getting out of the limo? What fears did you have coming in? 00:05:33 Speaker 4: I know, Oh, my guys, probably the most nervous I've ever been in my entire life. 00:05:40 Speaker 6: Yeah, crazy, it really is. 00:05:43 Speaker 4: There's this there's this quote from Mike Tyson. He says, everybody has a plan until you get punched in the face. Me stepping outside of that limo was me getting punched in the face. 00:05:54 Speaker 6: It is such a good way to put it. You think you're going to be. 00:05:56 Speaker 4: So absolutely, I'm like, I'm gonna crush it. We're going to do this this that the second she said something, I'm like, uh and then she. 00:06:03 Speaker 6: Goes off scrip. It's like, which that wasn't in my line? 00:06:07 Speaker 4: What is that that. 00:06:08 Speaker 3: Happened to me, and I just said the line I was supposed to say, and it didn't make. 00:06:11 Speaker 4: It just didn't make any Thank you. 00:06:16 Speaker 6: We're doing my. 00:06:17 Speaker 1: Line and. 00:06:19 Speaker 4: In practice this this is the one one thing. Then you say something. 00:06:23 Speaker 6: So you went and you're nervous. What were the guys like walking into the living room. 00:06:28 Speaker 4: Oh man, we had such a blast, like we all got along so well. 00:06:34 Speaker 1: Everyone is saying this. I'm like, it is clearly true. 00:06:36 Speaker 3: I'm like, wait, yeah, no, it it's crazy. 00:06:38 Speaker 4: It's like almost to a fault, you know what I mean, Like, yeah, we're just like it's like everyone love each other else like growing out and stuff, and you know, like producer kind of like, hey. 00:06:47 Speaker 6: Uh do you want to talk to the girl? 00:06:49 Speaker 4: Yeah? Here, like hey, hey you guys, are there great some tequila sodas? 00:06:57 Speaker 6: You know what I mean. I stayed at that bar, so I feel you. 00:07:02 Speaker 4: Yeah, it tipped her well, so I kept on coming. 00:07:04 Speaker 6: Oh my gosh. 00:07:07 Speaker 4: But yeah, we all got along so quickly, and it was just it was almost like a natural friendship with all of us. 00:07:12 Speaker 1: Yeah. 00:07:13 Speaker 3: Perfect, Well we have to go back to your. 00:07:18 Speaker 6: Oh we're on the same page. We are absolutely not. 00:07:23 Speaker 3: You got to walk us through your dating history. 00:07:25 Speaker 4: Okay, so I had my first kind of real relationship was my high school girlfriend. That was around what five years or something, and that was obviously my first relationship. So I was just like, oh, is this a girl? This is fun? You know, like this is just new, so new and exciting and all this stuff. So that obviously didn't work out. It was just an immature relationship, you know. It was just you know, high school, early college things like that. And then shortly after that didn't work out, I met someone else and that was more of the sort of mature relationship. Obviously, how mature can you be when you're still in school living with your parents. But it was like the early twenties towards mid to late twenties relationship. So that's where I kind of like actually learned a lot from being in relationship. And then that didn't work out. It was like just a weird time in my life going through boards and parents were getting divorced. It was like a lot of stuff happening, and then I just I just kind of couldn't deal with things. It was one hundred percent because I wasn't ready. And then since then I've been single and I've kind of just like worked on myself, you know, had therapy a few times and this and that, and then just like learned about what I am and who I am, you know, and then created this perfect human package. You see before you. 00:08:47 Speaker 2: What were some I guess qualities or things that you were looking for or you are looking for when you went into doing the bachelorette, Like maybe I learned from previous really relationships that you were like, I want this instead of. 00:09:02 Speaker 4: That, right, Yeah, And of course it's impossible not to compare to previous relationships. It's just a natural you know, we didn't do that. I don't know if I like that, but I think one of the main things is is laughter and humor and you know, being able to laugh through the shitty moments. I'm sorry, excuse me, excuse my friends. Good Christ Christ anyway, So I'm just kidding. 00:09:39 Speaker 6: We're gonna know, the whole thing is just okay. 00:09:44 Speaker 4: And so basically just laughed at all those shitty moments. Every relationship is going to have, you know, downfalls and pits and falls and all that kind of stuff. So being able to come back to the end at the end of the night and just laugh with your partner is I think so important. So for me, I find partners that we have like similar personalities and humor as well as you know, maturity, able to be an adult, but you know, don't don't stress the little things and like make a joke out of things, like life is so short. Laugh a little please. You know, many people I see in like relationships that just don't smile. It's exhausting to watch, and I'm like, dude, just laugh, smile, please enjoy it. You're not here for long, you know. And that's like a huge quality that I look for. And sometimes, you know, I've been on plenty of dates in the past that it's like I'm like, I'm gonna throw out some of my best jokes, you know what I. 00:10:35 Speaker 3: Mean about some of those shades. So before the show, just not on the apps. 00:10:40 Speaker 4: On the apps, So I was on the apps for probably one to two years. I haven't been on it on them in two years or so because it was just like it was like the same thing over and over again. I don't really find the substance that I was looking for. But also it's it's I know, and not to say that like I hated bad girls, like they were they were all genuine like like nice girls, but there was a lot of a lot of fake girls on superficial. Yeah, very very much. So like they're they're they're posting their gucci either fend either this or that. I'm like, you live with your parents still? Why are I don't understand, Like where's this coming from? Like I can't afford you next, you know. Yeah, it's like not you know what I mean, Like it's if that's what their focus is on. 00:11:31 Speaker 1: It's like you want more, like you need it. 00:11:33 Speaker 4: Of course I want like a chill girl that I don't have to, you know, wine and dine every single night. Of course I'd love to wine and dine. But like it's not that's not that shouldn't be the sole purpose of relationships, right, and unfortunately Miami has that you know, that aura about it. I know, I know, like why am I here? But I'm a Miami boy through and through. I can't even I can't even lie. 00:11:58 Speaker 1: You have no you have no like desire to move. 00:12:02 Speaker 4: This is so I don't mind moving, but this will always be like my home base. So like I'll always have a home here. You know, this is where all my family and friends are This is where my businesses have been. It's like it's one of those that will always have, like the center, the nucleus is going to be Miami for sure, and it's hard to beat. You know, It's Miami at the end of the day too. 00:12:22 Speaker 3: Yeah, Miami is fun. But I also love when I get to leave Miami. 00:12:26 Speaker 4: I get that. I totally get that. 00:12:30 Speaker 2: Yeah, have been longer than a week there, so I'm like. 00:12:34 Speaker 6: I don't think I could go a week. 00:12:35 Speaker 1: Yeah. 00:12:36 Speaker 4: Yeah, but when you visit, you're going to like the beach or like downtown. I feel like, you know, you're going to like the really crowded areas with all the thinky going on. 00:12:45 Speaker 2: It's I want to know what it's like, not as like visiting, and I. 00:12:49 Speaker 4: Feel like it's way more chill than that's what everyone says. 00:12:54 Speaker 1: Everyone's like the people that live in Miami are. I was like, it's so chill, and I'm like, is it? 00:12:58 Speaker 4: Yeah, no, exactly. It is like I haven't been to the beach and I don't even know how long it's not. 00:13:03 Speaker 6: I feel like I feel it. 00:13:05 Speaker 3: So you said you have a couple of businesses there or. 00:13:08 Speaker 4: Just my business, Yeah, tell us about that. So I did. I did work for a clinic owned by a surgeon or Peter surgeon for like four years or so, and then I started doing like clients on the side and this and that. But then I was working like fourteen hours a day and like, I had no time to I've said, I said, like like twenty five thousand times. Please ignore that. It's also a Miami. 00:13:33 Speaker 6: I do it all the time. 00:13:35 Speaker 3: Yeah, I rested on myself back and I'm like, whoa. 00:13:39 Speaker 4: Oh no, So I had no time for anything. I had my weekends and I was like exhausted on the weekends. So I kind of built up enough of my side gig to just quit my job. I quit my job a year and a half ago November, and made that my full time and now I have, you know, I'm building my clientele and it's been the best decision ever. You know. Congration, Thank you so much. 00:14:04 Speaker 1: It's awesome, very huge to be your boss. 00:14:08 Speaker 4: Man. I could take time off whenever I want, date on TV, just embarrass myself in four k We've done it. 00:14:18 Speaker 3: We've all been there. What's it like to do on your time off? Now that you have so much time to yourself? 00:14:25 Speaker 4: I mean, schedule is still a little busy, but I do have uh so I typically obviously I have to go to the gym. That's that's an essential. That's a that's a break, make or break thing. Uh you know, I have to I can go paddleboarding. I haven't gone paddle boarding in a while. But running is the worst thing ever. But now I have to do it because I'm doing this high rocks thing. Don't don't ask. 00:14:46 Speaker 6: It's horrible climbing rocks. 00:14:50 Speaker 4: No, it's like this workout competition. I don't think Miami has any rocks to come. I know our biggest mountain is the hill at Tropical Park is what we call it. It's literally like a twenty foot little hill. 00:15:01 Speaker 6: It's competition. 00:15:04 Speaker 4: Yeah, it's it's no no rocks, no rock. It's called high rocks. 00:15:12 Speaker 6: H y R o X got Okay. 00:15:15 Speaker 4: Yeah that was like running and exercises and stuff like that. But it's I'm just doing it. 00:15:20 Speaker 1: It's like a tournament. 00:15:22 Speaker 4: No, it's more like a timed competition, like everybody starts at the same time, and then it's like you race against time and whoever is the best time. I don't even know if we went anything. I have no idea bragging, right, Yeah, I guess so, and you know, knee pain. But yeah, but anyway, Yeah, I like to do any outdoorsy thing, and you know, I play Xbox every once in a while. But eat, I love eating so big. Yeah dude, Oh it's bad. That's partially the reason I work out so much is so I can eat so much. 00:15:53 Speaker 1: Oh I love. I mean that's that's called balance, right. 00:15:57 Speaker 4: That's life, right, Yeah, smile, eat and work out. 00:16:00 Speaker 6: That's it's your favorite thing to cook? 00:16:04 Speaker 4: Uh So I'm I'm very I'm a very simple man. I'll cook chicken, steak, all the meats, put it in rice, pasta, whatever, and burrito things like that. Yeah. So I could do the same thing every single day. I just kind of meal prep big meals and it's nothing crazy amazing. 00:16:26 Speaker 2: Okay, Well, I feel like this is a good segue for us to go into our game. 00:16:29 Speaker 4: Yeah there's a game. 00:16:31 Speaker 1: Yeah, all of that. 00:16:32 Speaker 2: Basically like yes, rapid fire prompts. We're going to get to know your personality, so have fun with it. 00:16:38 Speaker 1: Give us something. Oh no pressure, yeah, no pressure. 00:16:42 Speaker 3: Okay, I'll start us off. So we just talked about how you're a foodie. Give us your most unhinged food take. 00:16:51 Speaker 4: Oh I've got one. Okay, Yeah, steak at a restaurant is so overrated. Hear me out, hear me out. So so so you're telling me, I'm gonna pay sixty dollars for this little plasito steak that is barely seasoned, barely cooked a minute on each side. It's just resting more for ten minutes and then they do a little a little spoon, a little spoon sauce. 00:17:24 Speaker 7: Drug. 00:17:25 Speaker 4: Yeah, the spoon, if you will, and then it's just like it's over. Everyone's like, like, that's great, that's good job. I'm happy for you. But I'd much rather have you know, like a you rascal with like you know, chimmi churi picco gayo and a taco. Anybody eat that up? You know, six bucks. It's just I think people like the steak idea because you know, it's expensive and it's like fancy and all that stuff, and especially in Miami, they're everywhere. Yeah, I think that's I think it's overrated because you can buy a steak for a quarter their price and make it at home. 00:17:57 Speaker 6: Fair. 00:17:57 Speaker 1: I agree with you, Yes, that one I do. I'm like the no seasoning is like, it's it hurts. 00:18:04 Speaker 2: I'm like, it does, it's we're paying eighty five dollars for this day. 00:18:09 Speaker 1: Amazing? 00:18:10 Speaker 4: Thanks? Great? 00:18:11 Speaker 1: Is there exactly. 00:18:15 Speaker 5: No? 00:18:15 Speaker 1: No, I get it. I get it. 00:18:18 Speaker 4: So yeah, I guess I'll take That's a good okay. 00:18:22 Speaker 2: The next one is what song makes you cry every single time? 00:18:26 Speaker 4: Oh my god, I think everybody already knows this. It's been all over the internet already. 00:18:30 Speaker 1: Oh really, what is it? 00:18:32 Speaker 7: Yeah? 00:18:32 Speaker 4: It was like one of my fun facts that they that you know, they decided to run with. 00:18:36 Speaker 6: Okay, we love the fun bags. Tell us what it is. 00:18:41 Speaker 4: So Dave Matthews band crash into me is it's like, that's a good one. It's such a good song. 00:18:48 Speaker 1: I've heard it. I just don't know. It's you have no okay, okay. 00:18:53 Speaker 4: But the reason makes me cry, it's oh man, we're going to cry now. 00:18:58 Speaker 6: If you start crying, so don't. 00:19:00 Speaker 4: I'm kidding on my own cry. But it just reminds me of a time like when I was when I was little, and I have this vivid picture in my head. I was on the couch and we had like orange curtains and the light was shining through the orange curtains. It was like kind of an orange glow on the floor, and I smell like my mom's cooking in the kitchen, and she would always play Dave Matthews band. You're seeing it right, yes, And and I could just hear that song in the background and it just reminds me of like, you know, simpler times, like every I didn't have a problem in the world, and all family was together and it was just like there was It was just one of those moments that I just want to cherish forever, you know. 00:19:37 Speaker 6: Yeah, that is so beautiful. 00:19:39 Speaker 1: I know. 00:19:41 Speaker 3: I think I don't want to ask another question about that when curtains visual, but I do. 00:19:46 Speaker 1: Have to have imag of course. Yeah. 00:19:50 Speaker 4: Sorry, sorry guys. 00:19:51 Speaker 1: Okay, it's okay. 00:19:52 Speaker 4: I hope you're wearing your waterproof mascata today. 00:19:55 Speaker 6: I always am always smart, smart out. Okay. It says you are yes man. 00:20:01 Speaker 3: What is the best yes you've said in your life so far? 00:20:05 Speaker 4: Oh? I would say the best yes was saying yes to going on a euro trip when I was twenty years old with one of my friends. Were a couple of my friends, and that just kind of unlocked the whole travel bug thing, and that just set my life up for just wanting to see new people, see new places, have new experiences and things like that. So I think that was probably the most influential. 00:20:30 Speaker 6: Yes, I would say in my life, where did you guys go? 00:20:34 Speaker 4: Oh, we went to like twenty countries or something. We toured in the trip. Yeah, we stayed maybe a day or two countries, starting in Paris, I mean starting in London, went to Paris on the ferry and then went all over. Oh. And it was the World Cup at the time, so we would watch World Cup games in their country and it was just the timing was excellent. 00:20:54 Speaker 2: It was so good that I say traveling is like the best thing that you could do the world. 00:21:02 Speaker 4: New perspective on life one hundred percent. I agree. 00:21:06 Speaker 2: Love Okay, the last one, what are the best three restaurants in Miami? 00:21:10 Speaker 5: Your? 00:21:11 Speaker 4: Oh god, your best three? This is hard? Yeah, my best three because I don't you know, I don't go out too much. 00:21:17 Speaker 1: Yeah, but. 00:21:20 Speaker 4: Uh Bar Taco in the Grove is one of my favorites because it's it's nothing fancy, it's just you get good food. Oh my god, they have these pork belly tacos. I could literally have thirty seven of them in one city. I could have all of them with a margarita, for sure. There's another one. I do love, The Grove. Coconut Grove is probably my favorite area in Miami, even though it's getting overpopulated now, but you know, that's Miami. And there's one called Berries in the Grove, which is like a good brunch spot, but they also have great pizza and it's like good mom and pop. Vivees that that'll be another one, and then I'd have to go with La Area, which is probably a staple in Miami as far as Cuban food goes. There are a ton of Cuban food restaurants, but I feel like Lahita has been tried and true since I was little, and they've been consistent forever, like other other places come and go, and this has just been the staple. 00:22:24 Speaker 6: Like when to my list, Like whenever there's. 00:22:29 Speaker 4: A absolutely, whenever there's a like a championship like the Miami Heat or Marlins or something, everyone always goes to La Area on Bird Road and everyone's just driving with their pots and pants. 00:22:40 Speaker 6: So fun. 00:22:41 Speaker 4: Yeah, it's a big cultural thing for sure. 00:22:44 Speaker 6: Yeah, love that. This has been so amazing. We've loved getting to know you. Is there anything you want. 00:22:50 Speaker 3: To leave Bachelor Nation with before we go? 00:22:56 Speaker 4: I want to tell Bachelor Nation to be easy, you know, take it easy on us, take it easy on Taylor. Let's just like to do that. I know, I know they like the drama and I understand. Hello, but yeah, I guess everyone does at some point. Let's just let's just have a good time. How about that. I just want to leave everyone with just have a good time and don't stress the small stuff. 00:23:19 Speaker 1: Amazing, I love it. 00:23:20 Speaker 3: And where can we find you on socials Instagram? 00:23:24 Speaker 4: Kevin Montero forty five And I don't really post on TikTok, but I think I think TikTok's high. 00:23:31 Speaker 6: I'm Kevin got to start the dance trends. 00:23:34 Speaker 4: Oh you have no idea already TikTok following up, Yeah exactly. We've got like twenty followers right now. 00:23:48 Speaker 1: Those are simple days before you guys blow up. 00:23:51 Speaker 4: So yeah exactly. 00:23:53 Speaker 2: But Kevin, thank you so much. It was such a joy talking to you. 00:23:57 Speaker 1: Wish we could talk. 00:23:59 Speaker 4: I know more questions. First off, I want to give my condolences to you, Rachel. 00:24:54 Speaker 6: Oh, thank you, thank you so much. I appreciate that. 00:24:58 Speaker 7: But also at the same time, you know, you know with this social media stuff, like I was scroll on social media and I know this is probably you know whatever, it is, like, you're a beautiful lady, like you don't need to listen to these dumb people online. 00:25:13 Speaker 6: Not cry at the time. 00:25:14 Speaker 1: No, actually, I love this. 00:25:17 Speaker 6: No, thank you so much. Thank you. 00:25:19 Speaker 7: I saw that and I was like, what is she even talking about? 00:25:22 Speaker 6: Like, no, thank you. 00:25:25 Speaker 3: It has been a wild journey. It can just be crazy being in this world and. 00:25:30 Speaker 6: You're about to be a part of it. 00:25:31 Speaker 3: So hopefully you know things people are kinder after seeing that. 00:25:37 Speaker 6: But thank you so much. 00:25:38 Speaker 3: That means a lot. That's very sweet, like very very yes, that was so sweet. 00:25:43 Speaker 6: Well, now getting into you, I. 00:25:45 Speaker 1: Know, good things going. 00:25:48 Speaker 6: Let's start off. 00:25:48 Speaker 3: We've been asking everyone at the top, how are you feeling about everything that is going on right now? 00:25:55 Speaker 4: Ah? 00:25:56 Speaker 7: This is this is a lot, Like I didn't know I signed up for this. I'm gonna be honest with you, like it's it's been a lot. Just trying to stay positive on my own because like you know, I am a positive Paul. Like I can't control I can't control the uncontrollables, right, Like, yeah, it is what it is, Like that's what's happening in the world. Is it is it bad? Yeah? Like it's it's not good. Like let's be real, like I truly believe, like going on this journey with Taylor, like she is a good person. Has she made mistakes. Yeah, We've all made mistakes, right, but she is a down to earth good person that has just made mistakes and it's just unfortunate, And you know, I wish everything good with all parties involved, especially those kids, Like those kids love their mother, Like come on, I have a mom, Like I float towards my mom, like every kid goes towards her mom, and you know, and she loves those kids, those kids love her. Like it's just this whole situation is unfortunate and it's just it's sad to watch. But you know, I know Taylor, and Taylor is a strong woman that will she'll she'll get through this like she is. It's got to be absolutely awful for her, and I feel for and I feel for all parties involved, and it sucks, but like at the same time, staying positive because I can't control anything, Like let's be real, like I can't. I can't call up ABC and be like what are you doing? Why are you doing this? It's like, you know, and it's just like they got to figure out what it is and at the end of the day, like we got to make sure those people, Taylor, the other parties involved, the children are happy, like you know, like they're in a good mental state, you know, because that's that's what truly what matters. Like at at the end of the day, if the show doesn't air, it doesn't air like we're these are people and people's lives that we're talking about exactly, so you know what it is, what it is, and you know I can't control anything. 00:27:56 Speaker 6: Yeah, So that was so beautifully well sized. 00:27:59 Speaker 2: Solutely Are you in you know some of the guys, I guess, are you guys in contact? How are you guys like supporting each other throughout all of this? 00:28:08 Speaker 3: Yeah, He's like, yeah, yeah, I want to be added to the group chat. 00:28:12 Speaker 6: I want to see whatever, please come on me. 00:28:16 Speaker 7: You know, there's always a big group chat and then there's smaller group chats. 00:28:19 Speaker 3: You know, yeah, like always always exactly are you in the smaller group chats as well? 00:28:26 Speaker 7: Oh yeah, yeah, I feel like I'm a voice of reason. I mean, some of my castmates are probably sick of me for this at this point of like like I am a positive Paul. Like from the beginning of when it happened, it's like like, come on, guys, just be we can't control anything. You can't sit here and call me be like oh man, like. 00:28:50 Speaker 6: Come on, yeah, is that what's happening? 00:28:53 Speaker 4: You know? 00:28:53 Speaker 7: When it first happened, I think a lot of people were down in the dumps. Let's not. Let's be real. Yes they were understood, but it's like we also have to understand, like Taylor's going through something hard. It's not just Taylor. It goes it's bigger than us. It's bigger than us, and those are people's lives, you know, And so it's like, but we got to stay positive. Like there's people that get paid a lot of money to figure this stuff out, and they'll get it figured out. They're good at their job, they've been doing it for years. These people are amazing. These people are great at what they do. 00:29:26 Speaker 3: Yeah, this positivity, I'm loving hearing it. I think your outlook is amazing. It's such a crazy thing because going through this experience is just insane, and then for it to not air or for it to just be in between you and the cast and not imagine that's like so crazy. 00:29:46 Speaker 7: Yeah, I mean it's it sucks, right because you you pause your whole life to go on this journey. But like, man, am I grateful I went on this journey? Like, like how many people get the opportunity, Like someone told us while we were in the house, it's like it's harder to be on the show than it is to get into Harvard and I know these two they're not similar things, but like right, like is that true? 00:30:12 Speaker 1: I never do that. I love that let. 00:30:16 Speaker 6: Me through that front door. 00:30:17 Speaker 7: That is a crazy stat crazy. So it's like the like you have to be grateful for the opportunity and throughout this journey, like I learned so much about myself, Like there's a lot of things that I did in dating and stuff like that that now it's like, dang, like I can take that on further. Like you know, like you're in a like just imagine like friends asked me, like, oh, how is the experience? It's like when someone walks in from a date with the girl that you really like and they're just like, oh my gosh, I have the best day and you're like, oh, what's up? Yeah that's great. 00:30:49 Speaker 4: Yeah, you're like what is this? 00:30:52 Speaker 7: Like what am I going through right now? 00:30:53 Speaker 5: Right? 00:30:54 Speaker 7: This is like, oh, I'm so happy for you. It's like, ooh, I'm starting gaining feelings. I don't know if I'm. 00:30:58 Speaker 1: Really happy, but like exactly for you. 00:31:02 Speaker 3: Oh my gosh, wait, lou can you walk us through a little bit of your dating history and how you got here? 00:31:07 Speaker 1: Yeah, how did you end up? 00:31:09 Speaker 6: Tell us all about your axes. 00:31:12 Speaker 7: That hurts. Yeah, So the most recent one was in a relationship with her for a year and a half. She was older than I was. She was from Utah. I knew her growing up and she was in a relationship for I think ten years before we got into a relationship, so she thought she was going to get engaged and then right after that broke up and we got into a relationship. Was it really good? Yeah, it was great, but I think there was helling that needed to be done in that relationship because there was a lot of things that bled into our relationship. And don't get me wrong, it takes two to tango, right. There were situations where I wasn't ready to because there's another relationship before that that maybe I was healing from, and it just it wasn't the right time. And you know, it's tough. It's there was no bad blood or anything like that. It's just like, hey, this is this is not working out because it was like I just think being on your own is great, and that's what I've done going into the Bacheorette, right, and that that relationship was good, family was good, and I thought I was gonna get married to her. And it's just, yeah, I'm I'm dating to marry, like I'm not. 00:32:25 Speaker 1: I'm not messing. 00:32:29 Speaker 7: Yeah, I'm not playing around with people's hearts like that's that's messed up. And uh, the relationship before that, I was dating a girl and then she ended up going on a TV show and she ended up getting with someone on that TV show while we were still dating. 00:32:48 Speaker 6: So what's the TV show? Can you say? 00:32:52 Speaker 7: Big brother? 00:32:53 Speaker 5: WHOA? 00:32:54 Speaker 7: So it was live stream, so I saw it all. Watch this, yeah, watch It got dms from like twelve of your olds being like, hey, did you see this happen? I'm like, yep, sure did. 00:33:03 Speaker 6: That's my nightmare. I'm so sorry you went through that. I would have. 00:33:07 Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't even know. 00:33:08 Speaker 2: How you were finding out in real time? 00:33:11 Speaker 7: Correct? 00:33:13 Speaker 6: Can I say who it is? 00:33:14 Speaker 2: Sorry, I'll leave that. 00:33:16 Speaker 6: Yeah, okay, we will say who it is. 00:33:18 Speaker 3: That is so crazy And I'm so sorry you went through that, because going through a public relationship and the cheating it's insane. I've been there, so I'm so sorry that you had to go through that. 00:33:32 Speaker 7: It is what it is. But I learned, like you know, at the end of the day, I'm going to give her a lot of credit because man, she she was awesome. She was great, Like, there's a reason I got into a relationship with there in the first place, Like she was she was so nice. She was great with my family, great with hers, like I love being around her. Her friends were great. We had such good times together. It just it's just unfortunate and things happen like that, and it is what it is. And at the end of the day, like you just have to walk away from it. And it sucks, you know, but like you learn and you move on. And but like every relationships, there's a reason you got into the relationship in the first place, is because like you fell in love with that person and you wanted to do life with that person and everything. So like there's it's at the end of the day you walk away from It's like, yeah, I learned my lessons, but I'm not mad. I'm mad about that person or mad to that person. It's just like it is what it is, and you know it's going to lead me to a different path, which got me on the Bachsorette here. 00:34:29 Speaker 2: You know, so crazy, you know, did you did you apply or did you get nominated? 00:34:34 Speaker 1: How did that work? 00:34:35 Speaker 4: Oh? 00:34:36 Speaker 7: Long story? Are you ready, yes, tell us. Yeah, Like throughout my life I've had like I grew up in Utah where all my friends got married at like twenty years old, and so their wives have always been like, hey, you should you know, you should get on the Bachelorette. You know, like we would love to see you on TV. You've got a good personality for it. You're loving, caring, all this kind of stuff. So my my friend's wives would always apply me. My friends would always apply me. And you know, I look back and I'm like, I was not ready. I would have just I would have just got out of that limo and pretended like I really liked the person and wanted to get married. But I just I wasn't ready at that age. I was in my twenties at that time, and I wasn't ready. And you know, this time came around, and you know, the opportunity came to me, and I had been out of a relationship for a year and a half and really worked on myself in a lot of ways of like I've loved lou Louis. Louis awesome, Like lou is pretty cool. 00:35:36 Speaker 3: It's so mach sure, you're so crushing, You've really done. 00:35:40 Speaker 6: The work, which is it? 00:35:41 Speaker 3: Well, I appreciate that you don't really see that. I think, especially in our franchise, it's rare. It's rare, and that is just amazing that this led you to this journey. So you said you're from Utah. Did you know Taylor going into Night one? 00:35:57 Speaker 6: You never? 00:35:57 Speaker 7: I knew about her. I knew about her like you like when I'm going over to my friend's house and there's what me, the single one, and there's ten other married couples with kids running around, Like what are they talking about? Real househives in Salt Lake City? And they're talking about super Lives. 00:36:13 Speaker 3: And Mormon Wifes, which I talk about all the time so much. 00:36:16 Speaker 7: Yes, so I'm just like, I'm just like, oh, I know who this person is. And also the same time, like if you guys don't know, like Utah is a bubble and uh, yes, So I I know Miranda from Super Lives and Mormon Wives. So I member back in twenty fourteen, Okay, so I've known her for twelve years now, so like, yeah, I knew about her. She'd be in her tiktoks and being her Instagram posts and all that kind of stuff and It's like I knew about Taylor. Did I know her personally? No, I didn't know who she was. So but yeah, I mean, if you live in Utah and you don't know who these girls are, like you are, I think you might be crazy because it's talking about everywhere. 00:36:58 Speaker 4: Oh my gosh. 00:37:00 Speaker 6: So if you knew Miranda, were you? I guess in the know? 00:37:04 Speaker 3: For I guess what was going on a couple of years ago with the swinging scandal, how Mormon wives came to be? Did you know all that going into Night one? 00:37:12 Speaker 4: Yeah? 00:37:13 Speaker 7: I knew it. 00:37:13 Speaker 1: You did. 00:37:14 Speaker 7: Let's let's let's be real. Youtuhet's a bad rap. And I'm someone that left Utah eighteen years old, and I learned a lot about myself. Like I learned, like, you know, I'd be in situations where I'm you know, I grew up in a very predominantly Mormon neighborhood with a bunch of white kids, and then all of a sudden, I'm playing basketball on a team where I'm the only white kid, and I'm with kids from the South side of Chicago, and you know, in Florida, and you know North Carolina, and you know Upstate New York and New York City, like some crazy background stuff, and I'm just like I learned a lot about myself. I'm like, damn, I really grew up in a bubble, Like I this is refreshing, this is awesome because I this is the only way. And then you get out and you're like damn, you know, like yeah, yeah, there's so much more out there, and it's like people need to get out and enjoy life and get around different people from different cultures and all that kind of stuff, because you learn a lot from it. 00:38:16 Speaker 5: So so growing up in Utah, like the like Mormons get they get married young, right, there's so much pressure in the Mormon Church to like get married young and start having kids. 00:38:30 Speaker 7: You come off your mission. You're to your mission and your mission. Presden's like, okay, next school is to get married. You need to get married. You need to get married. And it's pounded in your head, right, just pounded, and you know, and it's good for some people. Like all my friends are in the best relationships with the best women, Like shout out to all my friends wives. They are the best woman in the whole world. And they're going to be married forever. They have like five kids. I mean I'm thirty three and they've got like five kids, and I'm like, damn, what am I doing wrong here? Like you doing. 00:39:03 Speaker 1: You're doing everything correct. 00:39:05 Speaker 7: So these people get married young and they they you know, get married and they have they start having kids, but then they really haven't experienced life, and so you know, with social media and everything that's going on, they start to get curious. Right, They've never drank before, they've never had sex, they've only had sex with one person, so they start to get curious. And then you start drinking, and then some stuff gets involved, and like me knowing all this stuff of growing up in Utah, like it's just like being in college and stuff happening the same thing in college, but yeah, people are married, and do you do that when you're married? No, But like it's just like what the they're they're curious because they've never been around this stuff before, and you know, it's just you see it all the time. It's way worse than it used to when I was growing up. Like I have friends, my sister's friends younger than me. I mean they're all getting divorced. 00:40:02 Speaker 6: Like and wow. 00:40:04 Speaker 7: Yeah, So it's just like I think people just get pounded into their head, like you need to get married young, and then you know they get divorced because they're like, oh, there's so much out there, and you know, they just like they date for like three months, get engaged, and have a wedding three months later. So it's like a six month period where it's like they met each other and they're now married and you know, so I knew about all this stuff, and it's just like yeah, it's just like these people are curious and they want to do some things. Is again it goes back to like, yeah, were those mistakes. Yeah, but it's still as a Taylor bad person for doing those things? No, and there was other people involved in that. Are they bad people? No? They just were curious and made a mistake. 00:40:50 Speaker 1: It's so wid Yeah. 00:40:51 Speaker 2: Can I ask when you were castid, did you know that it was going to be Taylor or did you find that out after you were already like officially like selected and you're like, okay, we're just waiting to find out her about the riad is like how did that? 00:41:03 Speaker 7: It was like real fast? Yeah, it was real fast, Like it was like I was in talks with people and then like a couple of days later, boom, it happened, and I was like, I'm stoked about this because like, I think Taylor's beautiful, Like Taylor is, she's hot. And I always said this in the house. They said, you know what, like if Miranda were to ever text me and be like, hey, Taylor thinks you're hot, she'd love to go on a date with you, one hundred percent. If you haven't dated in Utah, you don't understand because there's a lot of twenty seven, twenty eight, twenty nine, thirty year old woman with two to three kids that are beautiful that you know that you go on dates with here in Utah. There's just a different way of dating here in Utah then there is in other states. And if you don't know it, it's like, well, this is weird. And I've I've lived in other states, so it's like, yeah, I'm accustomed to what the dating life in Utah is. Is everyone married and divorced? No, yeah, but there are very beautiful woman in their late twenties that you know are divorce and have kids. 00:42:13 Speaker 3: So have you dated mothers or women with children before? 00:42:18 Speaker 7: Like fully dated like boyfriend girlfriend? Know, yeah, but I've gone on dates with girls like yeah, yeah, I have, and it's it's like you yes, Like it's I like it because it's like they are more mature and they know what they want right. And it's not everyone. You know, there's still people out there that are divorced and have kids and are just immature, but there are you know, there's a different thing when you start to have kids and you have these responsibilities. Is taking care of these little gremlins? Like there is that responsibility and you know what they I have dated people like that and gone on dates with girls like that, but like dated no, And you know, it's like you have to be open to those things as you get older because that's just how this is how life is. 00:43:10 Speaker 1: So just no, I'm like taking it all your life. I know this is crazy. 00:43:13 Speaker 6: I have another question for you. 00:43:16 Speaker 3: You said that you grew up Mormon. Have you left the church or are you still practicing? 00:43:21 Speaker 7: No? I left the church. I left the church. My whole family left the church at like fourteen fifteen, and I remember driving by our church in our neighborhood, the more in church. My dad was like, I'm so glad I'm not going there today. 00:43:32 Speaker 3: We all were, Wow, you guys all left together. I feel like you never hear that it's normally people leaving on their own. And then it's hard because the family is still in the church. 00:43:41 Speaker 7: Right yeah, And like my brother is baptizing the Christian Church, so he's gone over to be a Christian. My mom's husband he's also Christian. And then all of us else we're just nothing like me and my sisters, my mom, my dad, We're just here's here's my thing about religion. I when I left Utah, I was like because it was always pounded like the Mormon Church is always is the only true church and nothing else. And when I left Utah, I started going to like these Christian you know, meetups as athletes that they would do. I would. I went to a Presbyterian church. I went to a Methodist church because I'm curious. I'm just a curious guy and that's just who I am. Because of growing up in Utah. You were in a bubble and then you leave and you're like, man, what else is out there? Like I want to know, Like I'm here to listen. I'm open to anything, and that's just how I'm in life. Like I was in a church and we're clapping and standing up and I'm like, yes, this help me here, like this is fun? 00:44:41 Speaker 4: Yeah, like. 00:44:44 Speaker 1: Together like this. 00:44:48 Speaker 5: Yeah. 00:44:48 Speaker 7: So like I think everything is you know, like you just have to try it and be open to anything. I think the people in Utah are like, oh, the Mormon Church is the only true church. And I'm like there's just some much out there. 00:45:01 Speaker 3: Yeah, what do you practice now or do you practice at all? 00:45:05 Speaker 7: Not really? I know there's something up there and I know like there is a God, but it's just like what religion is true? You know, Like I think religion brings a lot of happiness to people, especially the Mormon Church, Like growing up in Utah, like my friends are so happy and their marriages are so good and their family dynamics are great, and growing up in the Mormon Church was like that for me. Like I was a good kid, you know, like for example, like I didn't drink for twenty one I didn't drink for twenty one years, like like that was you know, and then I turned twenty one and you know it's like that all happened. But like you know, like I was, I was a good kid man. I was home by twelve every single night. You know, I was never drinking, doing any drugs. Man, I still have this voice in the back of my head that's like, you shouldn't do that. Don't do that, don't do. 00:45:58 Speaker 2: So much trauma like religious, Yeah, a little bit of religious trauma, and I totally can't relate. 00:46:05 Speaker 7: Yeah, but it's good, it's good. I like it. I like it because it keeps me on a straight and narrow path to like not go down that way. And for sure, you know, there there's other people that are in the church that are like, I haven't seen this before, so they just go balls to the wall and it's just like like you're like, whoa. You know, it's like when they first get alcohol, it's like five shots within ten seconds, and it's like, Okay, you're blacked out. 00:46:28 Speaker 6: Now, Oh my goodness. 00:46:31 Speaker 3: Yeah, it sounds like you've just been through so much. And I mean, hopefully we get to hear more of your story because I could probably stay here for an hour and keep asking you these questions. But we are going to play a little game. If you're okay with that, We're gonna ask you some questions. It's all about you. 00:46:49 Speaker 6: It's very fun. 00:46:50 Speaker 1: It's your time to shine.
