00:01:55
Speaker 3: How with feeling?

00:01:55
Speaker 2: Good morning, guys?

00:01:57
Speaker 3: What up?

00:01:57
Speaker 2: Fellas here.

00:01:58
Speaker 1: He is a good, good buddy of mine. There is Big Brady Quinn. Big Brady.

00:02:02
Speaker 2: Oh, let me tell him it's a great friend. Great dad. Wait, wait to raise your kids. Good guy.

00:02:08
Speaker 4: Right, it's been one hell of a morning for us so far. I've got one one child as the I've been telling you guys.

00:02:16
Speaker 3: The flu is running rampant throughout our.

00:02:18
Speaker 4: House, and one woke up with the coming out both ends and that was followed up by our three year old.

00:02:25
Speaker 3: I'm not sure what my wife was doing.

00:02:27
Speaker 4: But somehow he fell near her and he's now at the er getting stitches in the back of his head. So really, yeah, it has been quite the adventure for us this morning.

00:02:37
Speaker 5: So that's man, well, I hope.

00:02:40
Speaker 3: Meanwhile, that's not where it stops.

00:02:43
Speaker 4: Meanwhile, the old meat wagon had a hip replacement yesterday, so of course.

00:02:50
Speaker 3: Trying to be a good friend.

00:02:52
Speaker 4: When I go to pick him up, they said he'll be staying with you right for the next twenty four to forty eight hours.

00:02:58
Speaker 3: I go, excuse me, They're like, no, he he needs.

00:03:01
Speaker 4: Someone to like make sure he's good, helping him with his mess making he doesn't fall. Because so now he's even bunking up here for the next I guess one more day.

00:03:12
Speaker 2: At this point, it is what's going on over there? Get your hip rusting.

00:03:22
Speaker 3: No good deed goes unpublished.

00:03:24
Speaker 1: We gotta We got a kid in the e r which is which is uh scary in itself, and then you got the wagon.

00:03:31
Speaker 2: With a bump.

00:03:32
Speaker 4: Fine, It's just he's got a decent cash in the back of his head. Fortunately, we had a good friend down the street as a doctor. He came by before he went to the hospital.

00:03:39
Speaker 3: I said, yeah, he was. Honestly, he goes, I.

00:03:41
Speaker 4: Think it'll need stitches, but uh, he goes, they could go, but he's like, they'll probably use stitches.

00:03:46
Speaker 5: So man, shorter straight. You know, you gotta make shorter straight. You don't want them, you know.

00:03:53
Speaker 2: That was it? The girl? Is it a girl? It's a boy? The boys? It might not be that bad? Can all right?

00:04:00
Speaker 5: Because I was about they called him Kamina at the hospital and rich no, no, no, no, no oh. I thought that was both his kids. Just a mix up. Oh, okay, it's a fun story. That was that was you took us off the red No, it wasn't off the rails. It's a it's a true story. So so, uh yeah, you just got to make sure that the stitches are as straight as they can possibly beat. You gotta think about them like into the future. Like I'm an expert on stitches for your kids, you know what I mean. So you just got to make sure that like the one kid, it was a boy, he split his forehead open and chrisch had a plastic surgeon come to the hospital and't do it just so it would be a straight line. And it didn't have like the whole tremendous zipper look to it on air. So yeah, how many stitches? Oh it was it was he went to a skull too. He Keno Keno did it. I don't know, it's too long ago. But then Penn kicked through a window like she used to lay on she had this like little play area she lay on her back.

00:05:04
Speaker 2: Well that happened recent too, remember, yeah, not too long ago.

00:05:06
Speaker 5: So and and we have to go back and get that revised. At some point she did a job on that one. So yeah, man, kids, man, we were just talking about this off the air.

00:05:19
Speaker 2: I mean, who needs sports? You got kids? That's true.

00:05:26
Speaker 3: We were one guy who might not be coaching sports anymore.

00:05:29
Speaker 1: Is Steve Kerr, right, Yeah, that's uh way to get us back. Look, man, uh, Steve Kerr has pretty much had the Warriors in hospice for the entire season. I mean, like, just listen to him talk whenever he's talking in interviews. It's true, It's true, whenever he's talking in interviews. This year he declined an extension because he wanted to see where things were at and whatnot. But you hear him talk during the course of the year and he says, well, you know where we're dynasty that's ending. Okay, Well, way to provide optimism. Jimmy Butler gets hurt.

00:06:05
Speaker 2: You know.

00:06:05
Speaker 1: Draymond Green even said it. Anything that could go wrong has gone wrong.

00:06:08
Speaker 2: This year. They were a thirty seven win team.

00:06:10
Speaker 1: Steph came back for the postseason, but he wasn't really healthy, and so he's just sort of had this doom and gloom fatal reality to what the Warriors are nowadays. And so Draymond Green spoke on his podcast yesterday about the potential of Steve Kerr walking away and had this to say, I've never.

00:06:31
Speaker 6: Been so uncertain since early in my career on what happens next. But I'm truly at a loss now because you just don't know what direction will be. What Steph, myself Steve shared a moment and what could be our last time playing with Steve as our coach. I'm happy we got to share that moment and like he didn't miss the moment.

00:06:50
Speaker 2: It was a big deal.

00:06:52
Speaker 3: I hope he's our coach next year.

00:06:53
Speaker 6: You want my opinion, and I think, nah, just because it just feels like that. It felt like that was it. Also, I hope I'm on this team next year. We also don't know that, And man, it was what a run. It's been so lucky to have had for twelve years. Steve as my coach. We shall see.

00:07:09
Speaker 3: I don't know.

00:07:09
Speaker 6: She's gotta stay ready for whatever it is and roll with the punches.

00:07:14
Speaker 2: Yeah, that's a wrap. He's Yeah, he's not coming back.

00:07:18
Speaker 1: And there was a report that came out from ESPN where it talked about controlling owner Joe Lacob and apparently team sources indicated that Lacob wanted to hear Kerr express a hunger to continue executing the nitty gritty detail gritty daily job, not a reluctant acceptance that he should continue coaching purely out of loyalty for Green and Curry and that sentimentally of riding out this era. That's why if Kerr decides he wants to return, there's a desire for management for him to sign a multi year deal. Team sources set, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera. It just it just feels like he knew it, he had it. He probably felt it before the season started, and the way the season played out, you know, it's a end of the end of the road, end of the era, end of a dynasty for the Golden State Warriors.

00:08:06
Speaker 4: I mean, I think the dynasty feels like it's been over for a little bit. Now, is that fair to say?

00:08:10
Speaker 2: Yes, in his career, but this was like.

00:08:15
Speaker 4: Yeah, they've been competitive, but they haven't been how most people look at defining a dynasty. I mean, if you look at, for example, the accolades of Steve Kerr, the first coach in NBA history to lead his team to sixty seven or more wins in three consecutive seasons. Right, obviously he's won multiple championships and he's got the most wins in franchise history for Golden State. I look at this and I go you know in your minds what has happened of late, because early on it felt like they kind of had their big three with Steph, Clay and Raymond, and then they added KD at one point two and it feels like, well, that's an easy situation to win in. But where's this kind of falling apart from him? I mean, is this a situation where you feel like he's done done or he's just done with Golden State they need to do a revamp and he moves on to coach elsewhere.

00:09:04
Speaker 1: I've seen that he has said that he does not want to coach anywhere other than Golden State. If he does coach, and you know, before he took the job, he was a great broadcaster on TNT. He was awesome, and so I wonder if maybe he just looks at this and says, why go back to the grind of that in an unfamiliar place when I can you know, go broadcast or just walk away for good, or who knows, maybe take a front office role. I mean we've seen coaches do that before. Pat Riley Brett think he.

00:09:32
Speaker 3: Initially he initially had a front office role.

00:09:35
Speaker 4: Yeah, when he first retired, I mean got into I guess post a career or afterlife of basketball.

00:09:43
Speaker 5: I'd say media probably is the natural progression for Steve Kerr. Sounds like he's just worn down and worn out. I mean, this team went thirty seven and forty five this year. To your point, Q, they weren't very competitive this year. They have a lot of storylines, as you mentioned, Jonas playing out with injuries and things that could go wrong for them go wrong. Yes, what's changed. I mean, I just think that they've gotten to a point of where it's been a run and it's probably looking as though it's run its course. Whatever it is that they were doing early on, the vibrance of it, the newness of it, the uncertainties of it. You know, they say, when you're looking up at the top of the mountain, it looks way different than when you're looking down. I personally don't want to come down off of a mountain. If I'm able to get to the top of it. They've climbed to the top of it. They did create a dynasty. They do have four titles. I mean, he's done just as well as a head coach as he even did as well, probably did better as a head coach than he even did as a player on one of the greatest basketball teams ever, you know, assembled i mean he's made what six finals in eight years at one point, well he went to five in a row. Yeah, I mean start pretty that's what's crazy. Pretty pretty phenomenal run for him. But sometimes things just you know, it's like once you lose it, sometimes it's just it's just gone. And I think that that's what you're seeing with you know, with this Golden State team. I think you also got to look at the idea that other.

00:11:28
Speaker 2: Teams catch up.

00:11:30
Speaker 5: I mean, hello, everybody's not going to just sit there and just keep kids in the ring. Like other teams catch up and they're in the West, They're not in the easiest of conferences to maintain a level of dominance there in the West, and that's where where all the juggernuts are. So i mean, you know, teams have caught up and they it's kind of run its course.

00:11:55
Speaker 1: It's also why that last title they got against Boston in twenty two was pretty important, especially for Steph Curry, because there was a thought, you know, they won the first one, but while the Warrior or the Calves were banged up because Kyrie was hurt and everything that was going on there, and then Kevin Durant got there. They won the other ones, but in twenty two, Steph was the guy who rallied them when they were trailing in a game in Boston that would have put the Celtics up three to one, and then he iced it and won that and it just felt like that was really, that was it, and that was the last one to conclude what's been an incredible run that changed the NBA, changed the way people play basketball.

00:12:35
Speaker 2: I thank you guys.

00:12:37
Speaker 5: Here's the question, right, because I think there was a definitive moment at the end of this season. Obviously they all hugged Steve curses. I don't know what's going to happen next. You got Draymond weighing in on his podcast. He says this is the most uncertainty he felt the question has to become one. I think we all would agree that the window, the proverbial window is closed.

00:13:03
Speaker 4: Oh yeah, for this the oldest state team, it's been closed. It's been closed for about four years.

00:13:07
Speaker 2: Okay, so for four years.

00:13:10
Speaker 5: If we're going to say boarded up four years it's closed, then this this has to be a rebuilt, Right, So what does a rebuilt look like? That's what I would ask, what what does that look like? Do you keep Draymond? Do you keep Steph Curry?

00:13:24
Speaker 6: Like?

00:13:25
Speaker 2: What is it a total blow up?

00:13:28
Speaker 5: It sounds like if you're bored and shut a window, then everything in there has been condemned, right, So why not just do a total rebuilt?

00:13:36
Speaker 4: And let me be specific, I'm saying it's been over because if you look at the way they started off, it's their own standard. When you go to five straight NBA finals, when you win three of those five, Like, to me, that's the standard that you've left for yourself. And that's what we consider a dynasty. That's what Steve Kerr, Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, and even KD Like, that's what they're gonna be known for, like that series of it. To Jonas's point about twenty twenty one, twenty twenty two, that's kind of been the outlier. Like if you go back to the year before the Bubble Boys season and really since then, they'vee either missed the playoffs or they've struggled to even get to the conference finals. So you know, it's kind of it's kind of been over with the exception of that one year. And so to answer your question, you know, is it a.

00:14:24
Speaker 3: Rebuild yet, it's a rebuild.

00:14:26
Speaker 4: But I think the hard thing for Golden State fans is it feels like they've been trying to get that back.

00:14:32
Speaker 3: They've been trying to rebuild, and I don't know if.

00:14:35
Speaker 4: You'd say it's a lack of development, if they've just missed on how they've gone about constructing the roster to be able to get the most out of them. If you want to give credits everyone else and say yeah, they've caught up, They've they've mimicked what we started doing back in twenty fourteen and through that twenty eighteen, you know, series of time or span of time, and that's what they've we've gotten to and now it's it's more difficult. We've got to find a different way of winning. Maybe you chalk it up to that, But if I was being critical, I would say that I don't know that they've ever been able to reclaim a lot of the magic they found in first constructing the roster that led them to that.

00:15:12
Speaker 3: Early success with Steve Kerr, and.

00:15:14
Speaker 4: I think they've he struggled to find that, and in struggling to find that, it feels like at times, you know, injuries have played a Porsche a part of it, obviously, but also you know, not having the same piece as they once had. You know, I don't think they've ever really been able to replace Klay Thompson, and I don't know that you can find, you know, other guys that can really do what Katie was able to do during that series. So it's going to be a rebuild. In my mind, it's just a Steph and Draymond want to be a part of it.

00:15:41
Speaker 1: Why don't we just do this full circle and bring back Mark Jackson, you know what I mean? Like he was there when they first got there, trying trying to get this thing going. I mean he put the foundational pieces in place. While you're being funny, I mean all seriousness. Yeah, and that's the team he kind of built. Kuri just took it over.

00:15:58
Speaker 5: Yeah yeah, uh listen, that's that's cat what you just did, Jonas. But I will say about that, I think there's well because Mark jacksonly ain't coming back, I hear that the idea would what would possibly be to bring in who the coach from Florida if if they didn't bring Kerr back, that's.

00:16:24
Speaker 2: The Yeah, that's why I heard some of the reports. Yeah, that's what I heard. Man.

00:16:29
Speaker 3: Could you imagine him in the Bay Area?

00:16:31
Speaker 5: Man, that's what I heard. That's that's the rumor. That's that's so distracted. Stay out of those d ms.

00:16:37
Speaker 2: Man.

00:16:37
Speaker 4: That was gonna say, nobody safe, nobody safe.

00:16:43
Speaker 2: You be careful out there.

00:16:46
Speaker 5: You can coach some basketball, all right, if you had to put money on it.

00:16:50
Speaker 4: It's Steve Kurt Dune. Oh yeah see ye okay, so not in gold still, but like done done, this is it. He's not coaching anymore. No, he won't coach. I don't know that he won't coach. I mean because you can change your mind. It's no Predicting people is not an exact science. So no, but that's what I'm saying, Like you change, Jonas would go all.

00:17:11
Speaker 3: In on the one direction.

00:17:12
Speaker 5: He's done, right, Yeah, weha, because Jonas is like negative. You know, that was just doom and gloom.

00:17:20
Speaker 2: That was uncalled for. That was just very doom and gloom. What do you mean you came in here.

00:17:24
Speaker 1: I'm not a fence, right, you came it's not comfortable up there. Pick aside, how do you know that it's not comfortable riding of fence? Tried it, it's not comfortable. So I pick aside. He's done, gone, man up and vanished like a fart in the wind. It's over, Steve.

00:17:44
Speaker 7: Win.

00:17:45
Speaker 1: Let me tell you something for those of you, for those of you yahoo's out there, they're like, oh, well, hold on to this.

00:17:50
Speaker 2: So this is a freezing cold take.

00:17:52
Speaker 1: If he does join a team to coach a team, this will be deleted from the podcast.

00:17:57
Speaker 2: So he dies, I mean he dies.

00:18:00
Speaker 4: It's not like Jonas has made any grand proclamations before about Tony Romo's broadcasting credit.

00:18:05
Speaker 1: Right, this audience does need to hear the you know, I think they did, jails.

00:18:10
Speaker 3: I'm not sure Mark can find it, but I think they did.

00:18:13
Speaker 2: Mark. Do you have the Jonas Knox he loft that it wasn't something.

00:18:18
Speaker 4: About if Tony Romo is more than ten million dollars a year and his new contract or something.

00:18:25
Speaker 3: Along those lines.

00:18:25
Speaker 1: Jonas, you know what, and based on the current climate, I would say I was out of my time. So instead of criticizing, maybe we should give credit where credit is due.

00:18:35
Speaker 4: I don't know what you were head of your time for you said he wouldn't make more than that. He almost made double that.

00:18:41
Speaker 2: A real trendsetter.

00:18:42
Speaker 5: Yeah, well, let's hear him from him, like, let's get the words from him.

00:18:47
Speaker 2: You got it. Mark.

00:18:48
Speaker 1: By the way, if Tony Roma gets ten million dollars a year, I'm getting a sex change all right now, full disclosure. That sounds just like you, Like, that's not even a full disclosure. You weren't riding the fencil all that. Then, let me be clear on this.

00:19:01
Speaker 4: Maybe you're before your time in the sex change department, not after that.

00:19:05
Speaker 2: Maybe, Wind.

00:19:07
Speaker 1: But I would say this because I didn't think that Tony Romo was going to get the deal he got from CBS on his second time around to be a broadcaster. And I was wrong, And as it turns out, Tony Romo reset the market. And so now everybody thanks Tony Romo for that deal. So but look, that's completely taken out of context. And what we're not going to let some you know, some passing comment on a on a Sunday night radio show infiltrate this here professional broadcast to where you guys try and get me to go down a lane, I don't want to go.

00:19:38
Speaker 5: That was a rehearsed bit. It was not a rehearse pit. That was what you're saying. We rehearsed, not a rehearse bit. You looked in your mirror before you came in to do the show. You you rehearsed it, not like this is what I'm going to hit them with when Brady hits me with it.

00:19:51
Speaker 2: For anybody that recalls it was good.

00:19:53
Speaker 1: For anybody that recalls that Sunday night show, there was not a lot of rehearsal done. It was a wild well it's just supposed to be well, you know, I mean we would have people call in who were just butchered listening all over the country trying to avoid having to wake up for work the next day.

00:20:10
Speaker 2: Uh. Just it was a mess. Man.

00:20:13
Speaker 4: I fell out of my chair on the the It was the Vikings Saints in Minnesota.

00:20:17
Speaker 2: Stuff.

00:20:18
Speaker 1: Yeah, we yeah, we caught the uh that that uh it was Mark Marcus Williams who uh the tackled a ghost and then Stefan Diggs ran and scored and we're on there.

00:20:30
Speaker 2: Brady lost.

00:20:30
Speaker 4: I literally leaned back because I like I grabbed, I fell back out of it.

00:20:34
Speaker 3: It's sounding I choked on a cigarette.

00:20:36
Speaker 2: Kind of laughing. It was so bad. Yeah, there's a lot going on during that time slot.

00:20:41

Speaker 7: Caves By twelve with under four left, Mitchell top of the three point arc, Mitchell driving, scooping, storing.

00:23:29
Speaker 5: Tie out Torado, Donovan Mitchell doing what.

00:23:35
Speaker 2: Only Donovan Mitchell ten dow.

00:23:38
Speaker 1: There you go, Brady Calves Radio Network on the call. That is your tire ract Play of the Day. For over forty years, Tireracks' have been helping customers find the right tires for how, what and where they drive. Shift Fast and free back by Free Road has a protection with convenient installation options like mobile tire installation. Tyrack dot Com the way tire buying should be. You know, I was thinking about watching the NBA last night. I love Anthony Edwards. I love him. He might be my favorite player in the league because he's a bit of a throwback. He's not scared or intimidated of anybody, and you just feel like, even though Denver's probably gonna win that series and Minnesota is, you know, most likely not anywhere close to being a title contender, you look at Anthony Edwards you go, I don't know, man, like he's enough of a red ass where I feel like they've got they've got an opportunity.

00:24:25
Speaker 2: I don't know what.

00:24:25
Speaker 1: It's kind of like when Jimmy Butler was carrying the heat and you're like, man, they don't have that much talent, but there was something about Jimmy Butler that just gave you hope in that playoff run for a couple of years. I feel the same thing about Anthony Edwards.

00:24:36
Speaker 2: He's awesome.

00:24:38
Speaker 5: Well, he snapped out, I mean, he gave you thirty. He put thirty up on him and was playing super aggressive. But again, I think what it's going to come down to, It's obviously going to come down to what Rudy Gobert is able to do defensively for them, and Julius Randall being that complimentary he was last evening, I mean he put up I believe it was twenty four points he was able to get and they played good minutes thirty eight minutes for Randall, thirty seven minutes or what was it for Edwards? Forty minutes for Edwards, And you know what, go Bear. As long as he's ding up and he's getting rebounds. It's a nice mix. It's a nice blend, and for what it's worth, it's a lineup that matches up well. Style wise. They match up very well with the Nuggets. And again the reason why I say go Bear is you need to have somebody who has the type of defense prowless that he has to be able to work on the joker. Otherwise you just don't. You don't stand a chance at least make the Joker beat you from the outside. If he's having his way on the outside and the inside, then it you know, obviously, Murray does a great job of being able to help facilitate the floor where you know, you can open up the different spaces and the Joker can get involved. But if you can d him up and you can limit the joker. It gives this team an opportunity to make a series of it, and they were able to get through the game last evening. So it's a it's a one to one series now, and you gotta I mean, if you're a Minnesota Timberwolves fan, I don't think you come away from last night's game feeling as though.

00:26:27
Speaker 2: They can't do it.

00:26:28
Speaker 5: And if you're a Nuggets fan, you don't come away from last night's game thinking that you take this series for granted.

00:26:34
Speaker 1: God, you know how much better it'd be if it was a five game series and it was tied to one to one, because now you lose game three and you're up against it. Now we just speed up the clock, just speeding it up. But you know, Denver could lose Game three and then rattle off the next three in.

00:26:48
Speaker 4: A row, and it's like, all right, well who cares about that that matchup? That game compared to Cleveland doing America's work, just again, pushing down Canada. You know, they just can't seem to get ahead of us, all right, taking care of Toronto up two. Oh and then I was watching my mid my kids, they're really rooting for the Flyers. God, I have no idea why that sucks, but they were. They're all in on the Philadelphia Flyers.

00:27:13
Speaker 2: It's just what my pins doing, man, all right.

00:27:16
Speaker 1: So there's there's two different So here's what's happening. I'm at Little League practice. I get a text from Brady and it's a video, So I got to make sure nobody sees that I'm checking my phone. I look at my phone and he's got his two daughters at the table and they're eating a bowl of e A s cereal and they've got the Flyers Penguins.

00:27:41
Speaker 2: Stupid. I don't know if many of my God, what you just did.

00:27:45
Speaker 1: Bro, They've got they've got the Flyers Penguins.

00:27:51
Speaker 2: Yes, I don't let him go.

00:27:56
Speaker 1: So they've got the Flyers Penguins. Game on and he's got them in Unison saying go Flyers. They don't like the Flyers. They don't know anything about the Flyers. All that they know is, hey, how can we screw over Aunt Jonas.

00:28:12
Speaker 2: I know this is what we'll do.

00:28:14
Speaker 1: We'll refer to we couldn't care less about just a yeah, just so we can get under his skin a little bit.

00:28:21
Speaker 2: But the Penguins. We took l the Penguins.

00:28:25
Speaker 5: Yeah, they look good at don't look good at? Oh boy, does not look good? Battle of PA two. That's like bragging rights. I don't like the way it feels. It does not feel really good at all. Sorry, there's only two more left. It'll be over.

00:28:38
Speaker 2: I mean, I represent the whole state.

00:28:40
Speaker 5: But when it comes down to, like, all right, now, you got Philly playing against Pittsburgh. You know I thrive on the west side. You know that's my deal. The west side. It's saeon, not the eastern side, the western side. And you know what, it's very disturbing when we're experiencing right now.

00:28:57
Speaker 1: It's also because you figure there's probably some NFL blowhards who are out there for the draft that are like, oh, we'll go see a Penn's game. They've got free tickets from their agent, and then they show up there and the Penguins defecate all over the ice for two games in a row in front of their fans, embarrassing.

00:29:15
Speaker 4: All right, go Flyers or something like that, and maybe I'll send you guys both.

00:29:21
Speaker 2: Some Flyers don't.

00:29:23
Speaker 4: But can we get back to Cleveland doing America's work? Continularly pounding down on Canada. I'm just saying it's been a bad run for the Canadians and any of their their teams. They're franchise, I mean, they they essentially have to just you know, worry about the CFL right now.

00:29:39
Speaker 1: I was thinking about this over the weekend. Normally, the Raptors were the NBA TV Opening Round game because there used to be, you know, one series got the NBA TV treatment. It was like back when you know, HD first came around, there was always one game on Sundays in the NFL that got standard dev because they're like, nobody cares about that game, and the Raptors always got that. Raptors Pacers was a staple on NBA TV for years. So at least they've graduated to the point to where now they're on Amazon Prime or NBC Slash Peacock. So I do think that that's a progress for the Raptors in their organization.

00:30:16
Speaker 2: Tang is it maybe?

00:30:19
Speaker 3: I just I just know Donovan Mitchellok's phenomena.

00:30:22
Speaker 5: Doesn't Raptors have a championship in more recent years than the Calves?

00:30:32
Speaker 2: Yeah, you got to bring up I don't know.

00:30:35
Speaker 3: We're talking about the Lords.

00:30:38
Speaker 4: The Lords start being anti patriotic in the United States Canada in every sport right now, Apparently you can't take pride in Cleveland doing what the rest of the American teams have done to Canadian teams.

00:30:55
Speaker 2: I'm with you, my gosh, my bad.

00:30:58
Speaker 4: But by the way, James Harden may have the highlight of the of the NBA playoffs.

00:31:03
Speaker 2: He's been.

00:31:03
Speaker 1: I think he's been much better than people expected. But I also think James Harden is one of those guys that you're going to look back on and say, probably maybe should have gotten a little bit more respect than he got because he was going on a scoring spree for a couple of seasons and people were sort of dismissing it as if, well, you know, it's just as we don't like this step back style of play, and the guy's putting up.

00:31:27
Speaker 3: He doesn't play defense?

00:31:28
Speaker 4: Who does he doesn't play defense? I mean a lot of guys a complete player like sure, but not a lot of guys shoot a bunch and then put very little effort into it.

00:31:39
Speaker 3: That being said, that game got tough to watch at one point.

00:31:43
Speaker 2: I think I.

00:31:43
Speaker 4: Watched six possessions or seven possessions go without a single player from either team doing anything other than shoot a three. It's like we've we've gone too far with this, Like can we just take an easy layup? I mean, we've got guys who are driving to the hoop with an easy bucket in their face and said kicking it back out for a baseline three.

00:32:02
Speaker 2: I just Hey, that's why, that's why you gotta appreciate SGA. Just mid range all the way. Yeah, like DeMar DeRozan on steroids, just mid range.

00:32:11
Speaker 5: But we just had that conversation on yesterday's show, right, Like Steph Curry has literally forced the evolution of the entire game. He's impacted the way the entire game of basketball is played. Now, people believe in the three ball and that is the new jump shot. Like at some point we're gonna look at We're gonna look at three point three pointers and say that's the mid line range.

00:32:38
Speaker 2: That's like to expand that.

00:32:42
Speaker 5: No, they're going to expand from where, Bro, do you see where some of these people be making the shots from. Like it's unconscious where people pull up Like you played bass? Did you play basketball growing up?

00:32:54
Speaker 2: Yeah? Like on teams like organized teams. Yeah, let me tell you something far far.

00:32:59
Speaker 3: Did you not hear that one? He dislocated?

00:33:02
Speaker 2: But that was a pip. But that was a pickup game, right, Thanks for bringing that up. You did that in a pickup game. You finished the pickup ripping the old styles in Monmouth, Illinois. That's crazy.

00:33:12
Speaker 1: My girlfriend at the time was awful and give me a bad pass, stepped off the curve.

00:33:16
Speaker 5: Next thing, you know, my kneecaps touching my shoelace. That's crazy, man. And you finished a pickup game with your kneecaps popped.

00:33:23
Speaker 2: It back end.

00:33:24
Speaker 1: They said, do you need anything? Do you need an ambulance? I was like, no, I need that basketball hit. The shot went to a bar. So anyway, right there in the old days, will you when you hooped in the old days, you come up? You got to make three passes. You know, you got to fight for position on the block. You know it was set up the office.

00:33:50
Speaker 5: Get a nice little flow, get a nice little movement, work it until you get a shot. Three pointers. Was like, that's like, you know, it's a bonus. If you had a two on one fast break. Could you imagine pulling up from twenty five, bro? And that's could you imagine having shot. Could you imagine having a clear path to the realm and you pull up, you shoot a three like, that's where the game is gone.

00:34:16
Speaker 2: It's no there.

00:34:17
Speaker 5: I guess the point I was getting to is if you shot a three pointer, your coach would look at you like, what are you doing?

00:34:27
Speaker 2: Why?

00:34:29
Speaker 5: Why are you shooting at least past the ball at least three times before you decide to make that dumb decision that.

00:34:37
Speaker 2: You just made shooting the ball.

00:34:39
Speaker 5: That's how basketball used to be, Right, you'd had one or two guys that they'd be like, all right, if he shoots it, I feel okay with it. But if that one guy, if the point guard came down or the shooting guard came down and shot it immediately, the coach would be like, what are you doing? You come down now? And it just seems like it don't matter. Why didn't you shoot that?

00:35:00
Speaker 2: What are you doing? Had a wide open laugh, What are you.

00:35:03
Speaker 5: Doing with your ass? I know that the guy was open on the block. Since your ass get over here, I'll give you another shooter. That's that's the Steph Curry effect. And and and it's crazy because I think that that's what turns the whole this era of time, because I mean, you want to say it's Lebron's era, but is it steps?

00:35:26
Speaker 2: I mean you brought the point up.

00:35:27
Speaker 5: Qu It's like kind of like you're looking at the way these playoffs are playing out. It's pretty exciting. I still like seeing people that can dunk. That's why we like Anthony Atwards because he not only dunks, he emphatically dunks, like he.

00:35:41
Speaker 2: Means what he's doing when he does it. You know, there's just.

00:35:44
Speaker 5: Such this you're the game has moved so far away from the rim that it just has taken on like this very.

00:35:52
Speaker 2: Very It's like a casual feel.

00:35:55
Speaker 5: It's almost like it's a shoot around, but it's a five on five shoot around.

00:35:59
Speaker 2: So it feels like I don't know, I.

00:36:01
Speaker 5: Just don't be feeling like it's anything less than a five on five shootout. Yeah, Origin Ass with Fowls Games Champ six, Thanks Steph. By the way to go Golden State, it is a two pros and a cup of Joe. Speaker 7: Sometimes you can't get to everything in the world of sports or entertainment. Good thing the guys are here to bring you in case you missed it.

00:38:01
Speaker 1: Guys, I don't know if you saw this, but there are some complaints about the current setup that the NFL draft has not about Pittsburgh or so much anything like that other than their awful hockey team at this point. But the NFL decided to shorten the time in between picks in the first round from ten minutes to eight minutes, which feels like, Hey, that's good for everybody that's going to speed this whole thing up.

00:38:24
Speaker 2: You're seeing other sports do it. We got to get to what we got to get to, etc.

00:38:27
Speaker 5: Etc.

00:38:27
Speaker 2: Etc. Baseball's got a pitch clock. I love it.

00:38:29
Speaker 1: I think it's awesome, but apparently not everybody loves it. Omar Kahn, the GM of the Pittsburgh Steelers, said he feels a little bit rushed. He prefers the ten minutes over the eight minutes. He said he and other gms have been talking more about trades in the days leading up to the draft because they know they'll have less time to work out trades while they're on the clock. Quote, you're making the argument they move the first round from ten minutes to eight minutes. So naturally we've been having more conversation to set parameters of what the value is if you move up to this spot or back. There's more conversation. But until we get there, I'm not sure how it's going to go.

00:39:05
Speaker 2: I don't all right.

00:39:06
Speaker 4: Look, if there's any round that you should be prepared for the most, it's the first rate got for so many scenarios. You've been talking about the trade value since the combine for some of these picks.

00:39:18
Speaker 3: I just it's such an excuse of any round.

00:39:22
Speaker 4: It should be the shortest of all of them, and then you can actually extend some of the others like that would make way more sense.

00:39:27
Speaker 5: I listen, in my mind, I was like, go to five, like boom boom boom boom boom boom boom boom. Let's go down to five because here's the thing, you know, and we might have stumbled onto something here, right, con saying that we've had to have leading up to prior to to make the news that much more significant and more relevant now versus once we get to the draft, have it done. Like you might even see the trades take place long before the draft even gets here, just because you don't have as much time once you get to the draft. I like it personally put the pressure on a little bit. It's also it used to be fifteen minutes. Back when you guys got drafted, it was fifteen minutes, right, was Yeah, it was fifteen minutes, and then in two I think two thousand and eight, they dropped it down to ten. So that was a drastic drop.

00:40:19
Speaker 4: But of course after I you know, waited forever in the green row. Well honestly that is forever. Fifteen minutes.

00:40:26
Speaker 5: Shows used to be thirty minutes long, right are they still thirty minutes long?

00:40:30
Speaker 2: So two picks is a show that's.

00:40:32
Speaker 3: Crazy, Buddy, we were there forever.

00:40:35
Speaker 2: It felt like dang. I think I literally had waited.

00:40:38
Speaker 4: The longest at that point in time of anyone in the green room.

00:40:42
Speaker 1: Yeah, it's uh, it's just not I don't see the arguments. I mean, it will turn and especially you know, to be to go back all the way to that time to where you had what was it?

00:40:55
Speaker 2: The first round?

00:40:56
Speaker 1: Was was or the They did the draft on one night and then they wrapped up everything on the next night.

00:41:03
Speaker 2: It wasn't so days. It wasn't spread out the way that it was.

00:41:07
Speaker 5: I made the point they this is horrible. I love y'all, believe me, I love y'all. It's just just take this with a grain of salt. But I said, they made it shorter so they could get in and out on the north shore. Pittsburgh. Oh, you gotta we gotta finish early. Like I wonder if there's gonna be a curfew. I mean, you know, hey, I'm sorry Pittsburgh, but hey, it's gonna be some wolves out. So if you if you are visiting Pittsburgh, I will say this, where you see all of the activities, do not venture out. I love Pittsblack dude, listen to what I'm telling you. If they tell you there's a party and it has a celebrities name on it, and it is Homewood or Manchester or the Hill District, there's a couple more.

00:42:06
Speaker 2: Stay downtown, don't do not.

00:42:10
Speaker 5: There's the touristy Pittsburgh, and then there's Pittsburgh. If you go into Pittsburgh, you're gonna get robbed. I'm just telling you right now, Jesus, I'm just.

00:42:21
Speaker 2: Telling you right now. Don't shot. No, I'm not calling it. I'm just telling you. I'm just telling you what it is. I don't see that on draft is about it? They should? They should have an over on draw. How many people? How many reported robberies? I don't see. I don't see that anywhere here.

00:42:35
Speaker 4: So your prediction for the twenty twenty six practice crying?

00:42:39
Speaker 2: All right, listen what I'm gonna tell you. The first pick Listen Carson Street, Wait where's he at? But the first wait where's he at? They go laugh till we gets shut, get stuck up,
