00:00:00 Speaker 1: All right, welcome in the local totalleters KSR postgame show Ryan lemon in for Matt Jones with Telephonic Systems Controller Comptroller Billy Rutledge. Look, that was tough. I mean we're gonna sit there and talk about it for the next hour. That was That was tough, man. That was a hard one to take. You had the number one team in the country, the undeniable best pro program in college football history for the last couple of years. You had him on the ropes, you had him at home, the crowd was going crazy. Just couldn't get the ball to bounce your way one time and just couldn't get the ball in the end zone. You know, it was a great game. It was a good game to watch. But when the game was over, I felt like I felt so defeated because that was that that win could have changed, could have changed everything for Kentucky football. It would have been, in my opinion, one of the top three wins in the history of the program. Maybe some would argue the biggest win in the history of the Georgia had won forty one regular seasons games in a row. Georgia had beaten Kentucky what fifteen times in a row. Georgia is the king of the hill and you had them. Defense played great. I mean, the Kentucky defense was awesome, but so was the Georgia defense. So a lot of people probably see that score and think thirteen to twelve, that must have been an awful, ugly game. No, it was awesome. Both defense has played so good you held Billy told me this stat before we started that Georgia in the last five years has only scored under twenty points three times on the road. Correct, only three times on the road have they scored under twenty points in the last five years. Who they played those three games? Billy, all three times at Kentucky, all three times at Kentucky. What the other games were? Sixteen points? I think in fourteen points tonight you held them to thirteen points. If you had told me before the game Kentucky was gonna hold Georgia to thirteen points a night, I thought for sure they would win. Just couldn't get it in the end zone. The bless Alex Rayner. Without him, we wouldn't scored it. We've got zero. The guy is kicking him from mars. Tonight he kicked one fifty five yards a school record the first one he hit bially, I think it was the KSR bump. You know, he was on the show Friday out there at Country Boy Brewing. He was there for the Scott County Humane Society. He was holding a puppy most time he was there, he was a KSR bumping And think he got to say so. Yeah, So it was tough. I mean that was a tough one. You heard Mark Stoops tonight on his postgame show. You could hear the dejection his voice. Man, I mean he's he's hurting, just like we're all hurting. I've heard. It was a tough locker room, you know, guys hanging their heads, some tears because they wanted it. They wanted to prove us all wrong. They wanted to prove that they what we saw against South Carolina was just that one game a year that were they just lay an egg. They wanted to prove they were a better football team than that. The defense had a lot to prove that they were not the team we saw playing against South Carolina. The offensive line, they wanted to shut us all up from talking about them all week and how bad they played against South Carolina. And they did the Kentucky offensive line. Tonight they're playing against NFL guys. Those Georgia guys are all gonna be in the NFL next year, and they played great. They were awesome. They did a great job blocking up front for dsk Dino Suma Karngbay, he was awesome. He's supposed to be our backup. I don't know how you can take him out of the lineup now, but what he did tonight against Georgia, I know Chip trained him, is probably gonna be He's our number one guy. But Dino has earned the carries, He's earned the touches, especially what he did tonight. Billy, what was your take on everything? 00:03:58 Speaker 2: Incredibly proud by their fa and their response after what I'm sure it was a really tough week after that performance against South Carolina. I mean, man, if one thing could have gone the Cat's way, if they could recover a fumble, that'd be great, no kidding. If that it picked six and early in the game would have stood, that could have been the momentum case exactly. But I think we'll all remember this game for the decision to punt at the end. 00:04:22 Speaker 1: Well, that's what we got to get to. I mean, I know We'll probably get a lot of calls about it. That is the number one topic online, It's the number one topic on social media. Should they have punted with? Was there three minutes left? Three and change? Real? Three? Okay? And it's fourth down and seven, eight, eight, and Kentucky opts to punt to give Georgia the ball with three minutes to go. I have seen I mean, it's fifty to fifty online. Fifty people think it is the wrong call. Percent of the people think it was the right call. Before we get into Billy, what's your take on it, I. 00:05:05 Speaker 2: Think at a vacuum, I could see the argument you don't have three you have four timeouts to stop Georgia with if you include the two minute warning. Very true, and it's a defense that has done pretty good. 00:05:17 Speaker 1: Yes, all game really good. 00:05:21 Speaker 2: But we're not in a vacuum and you're playing the number one team in the country. You're across midfield, and I think to be able to beat somebody like that, you've got to have the balls to go for it on fourth and eight. And honestly, I'm not too mad if they don't get the fourth and eight, because even if they allowed a touchdown, Kentucky would still be a one possession game. 00:05:43 Speaker 1: So I'm pretty torn. 00:05:45 Speaker 2: But at the same time, I'm pretty frustrated that the offense didn't have a chance to get that first down. 00:05:51 Speaker 1: If how Mummy was the coach here, he would have let him score. There are coaches that believe that you're down by eight and you just go down the field. You just go down score, then you score, get a two pointer, and you tie it up. Here. My take on it is, I was, I was shocked Stoops didn't go for it. I mean I really was. I thought the way he has coached his whole time here, and like you said, Billy, you had the number one team in the country, on your home field, on the ropes, and you had the ball, You're in control of the game. I was, honestly, I was shocked. 00:06:27 Speaker 2: But how like he's known for being conservative like this, like his legacy, people might look back at this game. They will and overall this is Stoops and how conservative he is, they will. So you're shocked that he didn't go. 00:06:41 Speaker 1: For I was shocked. I thought just that there was three minutes was the fact where it was in the game three minutes left. 00:06:50 Speaker 3: I was. 00:06:50 Speaker 1: I just thought for sure they would go for it. 00:06:53 Speaker 2: Well, the problem was they stopped running because remember on that point, great, I mean DEMI was great. Rock Vandergriff had a ten yard run. It was second and seven, and you're only twelve fifteen yards away from being in field goal range and you go incomplete and complete. 00:07:08 Speaker 1: And I'm a guy that wants him to throw to number six every single play, I mean every single play. But you're right. They tried to throw a couple of times, had two incomplete passes. When Dino Suma Karmbay was just killing it, I mean he looked like Chris Rodriguez, Benny Snell, Ray Davis there for a while. The guy was awesome. Why not put the bonnie's hands and let him pick up some more yards and then then you're looking at maybe a fourth and one or a fourth and two instead of a fourth and eight. And I guess that I hear correctly. Coach Stoops, when he was talking to Tom Leeds said if it was a shorter distance, he would have absolutely gone for it. 00:07:48 Speaker 2: That he did say something like that, he would have gone for it if it was less than fourth and eight. 00:07:54 Speaker 1: That's that's what he called fourth and eight. Well, so I don't know what if it was fourth and five, fourth and four, fourth and three, I don't know, man. I just felt like if once you gave the ball back to Georgia, you weren't going to get it back. And your defense has played great, but also you had allowed two long. 00:08:09 Speaker 2: Drives in the second half. That's try two eleven play drives in the second half. Carson Beck started looking like the top draft pick that he was. So, yeah, I'm a little frustrated. 00:08:21 Speaker 1: Well that year, right, that's what we're all gonna talk about, and we're all gonna remember this game. For the punt on fourth and eight with three minutes to go, and you had the ball, and you know, there's one touchdown scored in the whole game. That was it one touchdown, but. 00:08:35 Speaker 2: A reminder against the number one team in the country and a team that's lost one game in the last three years. Yeah, all those straight regular season wins that this team's won, and Kentucky had a chance to do it. 00:08:46 Speaker 1: This George has lost what was the stat twice in the last three years, and both times it was the Alabama in the playoffs, never in the regular season. I do want to give a major shout out to our fan base. We were a little worried during the pregame show cause we kept seeing a lot of red and we were getting reports that the tailgate was not as maybe what it was for the South Carolina game. Dude, our crowd was awesome. They were loud. They were loud from the very beginning and and Zion Childress set the tone early in the game. We had two big tackles and our crowd got on their feet and unless I think they stand on their feet the whole game after that. So if you went to the game tonight, man, kudos to you because you guys were loud, you were into the game. If you're on the way home, now, give us a call. Eight five nine two O two two eight seven. That's the Clark's Pumping Shop phone number on KSR and is also our postgame phone number here tonight on the Local Tot Leader's KSR postgame show. So we're gonna we're gonna dissect it. We'll give you your chance. It's tough, man. I mean, I've done a lot of these postgame shows when Matt's been on the road after a tough loss, and this is up there with one of the toughest ones not be you know, herth went in a funny billy last week. I was not upset that they lost. I was upset how they lost. I've completely flipped this game. I'm not upset how they lost. I'm just upset they lost because it was right there. Yeah it was. I was there for the LSU game in O seven. I was not there for obviously the Cotton Bowl game. And no, it's Sugar Bowl. Sugar Bowl game in nineteen fifty one, and they beat Oklahoma, and I think they beat Ole Miss when they were number one in six nineteen sixty four. There have been three times Kentucky's beat a number one team fifty one, sixty four, O seven, almost twenty twenty four. Almost billy. 00:10:41 Speaker 2: But you gotta be optimistic. Maybe they play like that again the rest of the year you get back to that bowl. 00:10:45 Speaker 1: Well that's that's that's the question we'll have all this week on KSR. Where are you now and your thoughts about this UK football team? How do you feel about this UK football team now? Because last week you didn't feel very good about them. You're already wanting to sell your season tickets. Think they're only gonna win three games all year, maybe four. There's this awful blah blah blah, they stink blah blah blah. Okay, where are you now? A week later? That's gonna be the topic of a lot of us talk about all week on KSR and the KSR pre Show, starting our own Telephonic Systems Comptroller Billy Rutledge and Shannon T. Dude. All right, we'll take our break. We'll open up the phone lines eight five nine two ah two two eight seven local toilet deeers KSR Postgame Show. We'll be right back. All right, Welcome back, Ryan Lemane for Matt Jones, who's up in Milwaukee with Mario tonight with the ESPN Big Dogs. Matt did had a tweet said that on that interception, said he, I guess must have screamed out loud and made some noises, and of course the people in the party are looking at like, what is wrong with you? That happens? You know you're watching a game, You're into something to have a big play like that. Eight five nine two to eight seven. We got phone lines are full. So what we'll do. I got a bunch of text messages. We'll do a text message in a call? How about that? That a text message in a call? Ok, people I think are maybe too mad to call, but they'll text me. This one says Section two twenty seven was on their feet all night. Crowd was great all night. Are we worried about the offense? No touchdowns in two straight games? Granted against good defenses, but eight quarters without a touchdown? Billy, that's got to be concerning a little bit, Yeah, maybe a little. 00:12:32 Speaker 2: Did your opinion change at all when you saw South Carolina almost beat LSU today? 00:12:37 Speaker 1: I was pulling for South Carolina. I kept thinking, Man, Okay, they're better than what I thought, They're better than the America thought, and they're gonna beat LSU and the that loss won't look as bad. And then they couldn't hang on. Got up seventeen, got up seventeen, then nothing on LSU at home, and then blew it. Not even Darius Rucker could help them today. All right, it's go to the phone lines. I know we have a lot of people. We're gonna let you just talk a little bit. So who we got first? Billion? I go ahead? 00:13:03 Speaker 4: Ian, Hey, Ryan, This is Ian from regionally from Potoka now in Paducah. But I here, here's what's frustrating, and if you give me just a second, the past two games are an exact reflection of why some of us have been frustrated with smart stoops for a long time, and that is because last week we I think historically seen stoops overlooking opponent because next week it's going to be a big game. And previously it's always been you know, poop state teams, and we've been able to squeak out a win it's no big deal. But South Carolina was a different thing, understand So this week we obviously show up and we play like the team that we are supposed to be. And yet the conservative play calls that he has consistently shown that he will do time and time again lead us. We're right there, we are right there, ready to just take it, and we don't do it because we just don't make the right plate calls. You know, all we had to do was run the ball instead of make three straight pass plays to and just kick a field goals. All we had to do, Yeah, and don't do it. 00:14:30 Speaker 1: Appreciate the phone call. I think Ian summed up what a lot of people are feeling right now, just that frustrat you can hear in these voice couldn't ability He's just frustrated. Man, It's not really mad, you're frustrated. So that goes with this text I wanted to read. It wasn't the punt in the end of the game. It was that they tried to throw it on second and third down. Yeah, and that's when you're having so much success running the ball and have had zero success throwing the ball. I know they completed one to bury on in the second half, but Day didn't get any any completions in the second Have you got three catches in the first half. The Georgia secondary guys are NFL guys also, so it's you gotta go with what works. And putting the ball in Demo's hands and even with letting Vandergriff run, those are two best offensive plays all game. 00:15:22 Speaker 2: Yeah, in a credit to this offensive line and going out there and being able to run block the way that they did. Right, You're right, they really showed us something after a week of just what was brutal from the media. But I'm I'm sure they weren't happy with at all how they played South Carolina last week. 00:15:35 Speaker 1: You know, you're right, we need to give that offensive line some credit because we were all hard on them all week long and they showed up and played great against Like I said, guys that are NFL guys on the other side. All right, who's next, Billy Phoenix? Phoenix, go ahead, Phoenix. 00:15:52 Speaker 5: A first time long time? 00:15:54 Speaker 1: Is this the Phoenix that I know? Probably not? Okay, all right, Hey, it was a great game tonight. 00:16:02 Speaker 5: Uh. 00:16:02 Speaker 6: I don't really had much complaints about it. It really exceeded my expectations. But one of the complaints I got right now is we got to do something about not calling blue and white on defense. We need the whole crowd screaming in unison instead of half the crowd screaming blue, half the crowds screaming white. I mean, we need everybody screaming their heads off, all all on defensive possessions. It's driving me crazy. So you all got some pool with the UK people. 00:16:31 Speaker 5: I'll just like see if you could help us out on that. 00:16:33 Speaker 1: Okay, appreciate it. Screaming at once, I appreciate it. I'm I'm gonna have a hard time saying anything negative about our crowd tonight because they were awesome. They were they were loud. I mean, You know when you're sitting at home and you hear how loud the crowd is coming through the speakers, you know that they what it's at the stadium is gonna be awesome. So our crowd. Uh, I was worried about our crowd after what happened last weekend, But Billy, I think they they showed out and prove to me that they still believe in this program, in this team. Well, you're right about Zion Childress. 00:17:05 Speaker 2: He made some huge plays in this game and set the tone, didn't They got everybody up. Yeah, and they got to see the light show during a game that when it mattered, right. 00:17:13 Speaker 1: Yeah, Zion Childress, he was on every play to start to get like George's first possession, Like he made a tackle for loss, he made another open field tackle, batted a pass down like he was. He was everywhere to start the game, wasn't he? 00:17:26 Speaker 2: And he was the one that had the interception that went back for a touchdown that was overturned. 00:17:30 Speaker 1: I believe. I believe so yeah that gosh, see that's the other player. But he's going to talk about too. Yeah, Yeah, it was close. 00:17:39 Speaker 2: I think it hit the ground, but it just goes back to Kentucky not getting a single break over the last two weeks. 00:17:45 Speaker 1: When is the ball going to bounce their way? Like Darren said this when he when he was standing here with us, it looked like there's been like seven or eight fumbles in the last two games, and every one of them went the other every other way, every one of them. All right, here's next, Allen, go ahead, Alan. 00:18:06 Speaker 5: Hey, how are you doing? 00:18:06 Speaker 3: Ryan? 00:18:07 Speaker 1: How are you Allen? 00:18:08 Speaker 5: Hey? Man? 00:18:09 Speaker 7: We were two plays away from upsetting one of the best teams in the last ten years. 00:18:16 Speaker 1: Yep. 00:18:17 Speaker 7: We were the called back fumble on the zion play and if the Eric Jackson would have picked up the fumble in the fourth quarter, that would have been a rap. 00:18:32 Speaker 1: You know, Alan, we appreciate it. We've not talked about that play. Georgia fumbles the ball. We have some players right there and they're busy complaining and looking at the ref and not falling on the live football. It rolls in Georgie's favor. Another role that didn't bounce Kentucky's way. Georgia falls on it nowadays, recover the fumble, they get the first a huge first down. In the process. We had guys that were right there could have fallen on the ball. M I'm kind of like you. It hurts more than it was so close. It does. I've always been and felt like even when I played and when I coached my boys and stuff, a close loss like this, man, it just eats at you, that loss like good South Carolina last week. Yeah, I was upset about it, but it didn't eat at me like this one Tonight's eating at me because you, like you had it a huge program changing when in your fingertips and just couldn't get the ball to bounce your way one time, or couldn't get in the end zone one time. Here's this is another text for my buddy Darryl. He said he didn't go forward on fourth and eight, but said he would have gone for it on fourth and seven. It's one freaking yard first half. You take shots before the half, nine seconds left, and you got a feel go out of it. That's true. They were kind of aggressive at the end of the first half set up another field goal. And how about Rainer. 00:20:01 Speaker 5: Six. 00:20:02 Speaker 1: It was six to three at half time, right, yes, it was three to three. It was six sixty three at half time. Rayner now only hit the fifty five yard er he hits the one right before halftime, comes out first driver of the second half, made a big field goal. Yes, dude, was awesome. That guy. You know he broke Austin McGinnis's school record. Dude, you know he's like in the Kicker Mount Rushmore here at Kentucky. So now's Rainer bumped off Austin McGinnis the Kicker Hall of Fame. 00:20:31 Speaker 2: Well, uh, we may forget the performance because of in a loss, but that guy has been automatic and U a little bit of a revenge for him. 00:20:38 Speaker 1: I think he came from Georgia. Originally, he grew up in Georgia, went to Georgia Southern, and then transferred here to Kentucky. Let's get another call. Who he got? Ethan, Ethan, go ahead, Ethan, Hey Ryan, Hey, Ethan. 00:20:52 Speaker 8: So, if you don't mind, I'd like to just talk greatly Mark Stoops here for a second. 00:20:56 Speaker 1: All right, don't cuss. 00:20:59 Speaker 9: Stoops were at the point where people are wondering. 00:21:02 Speaker 8: What you're biled is if you are in a position where you can make people completely forget about last weekend and have one of the biggest wins of not only maybe the program, but if not so his coaching tenure easily. You go for it on fourth and eight, even if you don't get it. Your defense has been rocking on all cylinders tonight, they get it on the fifty yard line versus getting it on the twenty. I don't understand. And didn't we last week go for it on fourth down on our own thirty. 00:21:37 Speaker 9: It just doesn't make any sense to me. 00:21:39 Speaker 1: I know. That's why I was kind of shocking in go for it, Tony, and I really was. 00:21:43 Speaker 9: And that's the thing We've had coaches in the past where I feel like, if it's that game in two thousand and seven is lsu we go for it because that is it's a once in a generational wine And at what point does something changed. He's on He's obviously on. 00:21:58 Speaker 8: The hot seat, so you think he if we go for it on fourth and eight and we don't get it, nobody fault him for that game. You can't say that he didn't give it his own yep. But now it's the complete opposite end. We're right back where we were last week, even though we just lost the number one team in the nation, but it it almost feels like we lost by forty. It's just the kick and the. 00:22:21 Speaker 1: Gun eightan great ethan great phone call, great phone call. And he's right about a lot of things that he said. Uh and you know, kind of echoed what I was saying about. I'm just you know the way he's been. I just I was so shocked that he didn't go for it right then. And it does hurt. I mean, there's no other way around it. You feel like you had like this win that could have. Just think how what this postgame show would be like right now if they'd won the game. I'd be down at Chas Bar. I'd probably be up on top of the bar with my shirt off and squirt and champagne on. People, we'd be celebrating. State Street would be rocking over there. But tonight then we're all Now tonight, we're all going home, hanging our heads down, listening to this sappy music, and all of us complain on the postgame show. How about this one. I gotta read you this one too, Billy. This is from Doug in section thirty. Okay, crowd was incredible, so much juice. I'm more frustrated than I was last Saturday, our coach not having the stones to try it and win the game. In plus territory. Is so Mark Stoops, not just the fourth and seven, but kicking a field goal with ten seconds left and a half on first down and not throwing one in the end zone before the field goal. That is true. Even Greg McElroy said, you know, why don't they just take a shot at the en zone here, He's still going to have time to get the field goal unit out and try go ahead and try the field goal in right before halftime. Yeah. 00:23:40 Speaker 2: I think Stoops talked about that post game as well. I think he went back to the numbers. Historically over the last three or four years, people just aren't completing passes in the red zone against that Georgia defense. Maybe you could say that's coaching scared, but you know, maybe they have a penalty and it's a ten second runoff. Then you get zero points and you're gutted going into the locker room. But it was conservative Stoops again, no matter how you look at it. 00:24:03 Speaker 1: Eight five nine two eight oh two two eight seven. Who we got next, Lance, Lance? 00:24:06 Speaker 10: Go ahead, Lance, Yeah, Ryan, everybody's talking about the fourth and eight on their side of the field in the fourth quarter. But I kind of want to reiterate what you just read on a message you got. I cannot believe we did not take a shot at the end zone at the end of the first half when we had ten seconds left. How do we not try to do something there? It was clear we were playing for a field goal the entire time. I don't understand that. 00:24:34 Speaker 1: Yeah, as successio as it was first down, might as well just take one shot, man, you got, you got Dane over there. Just throw of a jump ball in the corner maybe one time, and go for it, and then you still have time to come back and kick the field goal. 00:24:49 Speaker 10: Absolutely, throw a fade right to him or burying or something. 00:24:52 Speaker 5: Just do something. 00:24:53 Speaker 10: Just get the fans some kind of excitement to show that you were trying to win this game instead of playing it safe. 00:25:00 Speaker 1: Lance. We appreciate it. I appreciate Mark's emotion after the game on the postgame show. You could tell he was hurting. You could tell he was disappointed, you could tell he was frustrated. It's not like we get in basketball the last several years, where the guy who was here was like, now I get to go home and feed my dog. Oh well, you know, I get to go home and watch Alaskan TV. No I want my coach to hurt, and Stoops is hurting. You know, a little house on the prairie, Little house on the prairie for what was that Alaskan show? Used to watch Alaskan bush Hunters or something. He said he used to watch. 00:25:36 Speaker 2: To add insult to injury. You know, there was a miss targeting call right before the decision to not go for it at the end of the first half. Huh, Stoops was screaming at the ref it was helmet to helmet content. 00:25:48 Speaker 1: I clearly forgot about that. 00:25:50 Speaker 2: I really don't know what targeting is. Yeah, we could spend a whole show on how refs don't even know what targeting is, I think. 00:25:56 Speaker 1: But McElroy he even said it there when they showed the replay, like, oh, yeah, you can tell it to his shoulder went right into the face mask. 00:26:03 Speaker 2: So then you're on the one compared to you know, middle of the red zone at that point. 00:26:09 Speaker 1: This is from my friend Sarah Hi Ryan, listening to the postgame show. Maybe I'm my loan on this, but I'm not sad. Do I wish we won? Yes, I don't get penny in the fourth, but also I have hope again about this season. After last week, I thought for sure we had no hope this way. I'm excited for what's to come. That's gonna be how we are I think this rest of the week. Where are you now with this UK football team? Where's your head now? What's you're feeling now? Those people who said they were going to sell their season tickets, I hope you didn't, and I hope you're gonna go back every home game now the rest of the year. People said they weren't gonna win more than two or three games. I hope you now realized that was probably a wrong prediction. Where are you now, Billy? Encouraged? Absolutely? I am too, absolutely encourage. Okay, where were you when you and Matt did this postgame show last Saturday night? Lost? 00:26:59 Speaker 2: Completely lost, embarrassed, defeated, Like, why are we playing the rest of the season? 00:27:04 Speaker 11: Defeated? 00:27:05 Speaker 1: I wasn't. I wasn't thinking negatively about the rest of the season, but I was feeling negatively about them for sure Saturday night. How just the effort was not there, The fight wasn't there, Dude, they came to fight tonight. The boys brought it tonight. From the opening possession, you could tell they came to fight tonight. 00:27:26 Speaker 2: Well, their manhood got tested, right, you had to respond, You had to respond after that last game. But you know, Florida may not have a head coach by the time Kentucky plays them. He still got Ohio Murray State a down Auburn team Vandy that got beat by Georgia State today sdy Louisville at the end. 00:27:48 Speaker 1: But speaking of Florida, you know they have called there's reports out there, a board of regents meeting, emergency meeting tomorrow morning. Oh you know what that's about. That can't be good for Billionnate your billy that that can't be they're getting together to give him a raise. Yeah, they were chanting fire Billy. I think in Gainesville fire Billy on their home field after Texas and m ran them off the field today. See how Florida may not have they have an interim coach when we play them, they have an interim coach this week. You want to take one more before we break whatever you want to do. Yeah, you're the producer, you are the telephonic systems comptroller. 00:28:26 Speaker 2: I appreciate whatever the title that was from Jemi this evening. So who we got Chris Chris, go ahead. 00:28:34 Speaker 1: Chris, Hey, what's up? 00:28:36 Speaker 12: Ryan Man? I was actually a country boy at the breakfast the other day and met you guys. I told you Kentucky was going to come to play. They came to play. 00:28:44 Speaker 13: Plus seven and a half is what I called it. 00:28:47 Speaker 12: And I tell you what, I took a lot of heat for this, but Vandergriff outperformed Bick tonight, totally outperformed Bick. It was Kentucky's game all the way through and through, and it was raining threes in Electionington and not on the basketball cover. 00:29:05 Speaker 1: Appreciate it, Chris, Yeah, a lot of threes. Nobody could get in the end zone their kicker and Alex Rayner just taking turns banging them in from everywhere. But yeah, for those of you who've bet Kentucky at least to cover DraftKings has to pay out quite a bit tonight. I think because I was one of those myself. Ability did you bet them to cover the Cats? Yeah? No, oh I did? He did, Yes, I did. Yeah, nice, Well, we talked. I talked myself into it during the pregame show when Adam Luckett said, you know, Kirby Smart's not one of those guys. When he gets ahead, he doesn't put his foot down the gas pedal, he kind of pulls it off the gas pedal, and then we all realize, well, they do have Alabama next, so maybe they're overlooking us a little bit. So maybe it could It'll be maybe just a three touchdown game and be uh, you know, be under the spread. That was my thinking anyway. Yeah, I didn't think it was gonna be thirteen to twelve. I should have bet the under. Everybody should have bet the under. All right, well, take our break, come back eight two eight zero two to eight seven eight five nine two eight O Cats. Ryan and Billy Cats lose a tough one thirteen twelve to Georgia. We'll be right back, all right. Welcome back Ryan Leman in for Matt Jones. Billy are sports here as well. The Telephonic Systems Comptroller. Kentucky lose a tough one thirteen twelve to Georgia. Number one Georgia, the overall best program in the country. Georgia the team that's won seventy forty one games in a row. The team has beat Kentucky fifteen times in a row. They lose by one point thirteen twelve. We'll go back to the phone lines. But I'm trying to read a lot of these texts that are coming in as well, because there are some really good ones, and I know people are more comfortable maybe texting their frustration and staying on the phone. So this guy says, Billy can't disagree with you, and Billy Moore man, all these basketball benies are showing their lack of football knowledge, griping about four and eight. You got three timeouts and the two menu at warning. It's a film position game at that point. You can't grip at him about being conservative there, and the same say he should have run the ball more. I'm team Stoops forever. He is UK Football now. 00:31:06 Speaker 2: I mean Stoops runs his program like an NFL team. His conservative play calling kept Kentucky in the game. And maybe that's to a t what the pun on fourth and eight was, But it's not a field position game at that point. 00:31:18 Speaker 1: You've got to win the game. Even if they score again, it's still a one possession game. And like we said earlier, and they were having some success running the ball, okay, so why did they throw it on second down and third down? Just go ahead and try to run the ball trying to get move the chains a little bit more. 00:31:35 Speaker 2: Both dsk and will Cox averaged over four and a half yards per carry tonight. 00:31:41 Speaker 1: Didn't even mention him. Will Cox was awesome too. Two scholarship running backs, and they they brought their lunch pail and played, I'm trying not to cuss, played really, really, really hard. They did. I thought we would see Gavin Wimson, mainly because of his running ability, but uh, you know, vandergriff was playing so well, I don't think you could take him out. And Demo and will coxwell, they were running the ball so well you couldn't take them out. So those two guys carried the lobe. All right, who's our first call of this segment? How about Seth a Georgia fan. Seth a Georgia fan? 00:32:19 Speaker 5: Is he? 00:32:19 Speaker 1: Is he calling rub it in? We'll see, all right, Seth, go ahead. 00:32:23 Speaker 5: Hey, Ryan, No, not calling the rub it in at all. 00:32:27 Speaker 14: Really, I'm in an awkward position because I'm a Kentucky resident, have been for a long time, but my first experienced college football was at Sanford Stadium. I heard Georgia fan but also cheer for UK as long as they don't play Georgia. 00:32:41 Speaker 5: My parents are season ticket holders at UK. 00:32:44 Speaker 14: That's the loudest I've ever heard that stadium. The night it was so loud my son got a headache and we had to leave in the first quarter. 00:32:51 Speaker 1: Oh wow. 00:32:52 Speaker 5: Yeah. 00:32:53 Speaker 14: I just want to say that, from like a co fan point of view, there's no reason Kentucky should hold their head tonight. You guys took the most talented team in the roster to the last play of the game. South Carolina was a fluke. That's just plain and simple. When the game gets out of hand and the ball bounces a couple different ways, it's hard to bounce back from that. And that's just football. If you've watched it long enough, you know that's true. As a George fan, I'm really glad we got a bye week next week before we go to Tuscaloosa. As a Kentucky fan, I couldn't be prouder of how the team responded. For those of you that are stoops and aaysayers, I just want to say the reason you keep him as your coach is the difference in mentality from last week to this week. 00:33:34 Speaker 5: This team was ready to play. 00:33:36 Speaker 14: This team dominated the line of scrimmage, the ball didn't bounce their way a couple of times. 00:33:40 Speaker 5: You all didn't get a couple of calls. That's tough. You played a more talented team. It is what it is. 00:33:46 Speaker 14: But there's no reason this Kentucky team can't win seven or eight more games. There's no reason that anybody in Big Blue Nation should hold their heads. As a co card carrying member of Big Blue Nation, I'm extremely proud of the team, and go casts the rest of the way, Go Dogs the rest of the way. What a wonderful game, wonderful environment. Don't hold your heads, That's all I got. 00:34:07 Speaker 1: Well, thank you, Seth. Appreciate the phone call. How about that? How about it? It takes a Georgia Bulldog fan to pull us up from our bootstraps and make us feel better about our team and ourselves and our coach and everything. That call alone made me feel a little better, Billy. How about you? 00:34:24 Speaker 2: You know Seth is just glad both teams had fun tonight. I wonder if he had a Blue shirt on under his Georgia stuff, just in case it went the other way. 00:34:32 Speaker 1: If his parents are UK season ticket holders, they're obviously UK fans. How'd he grow up a big Georgia fan there, how about this, When another texta came in, we won the Freddie Middle Eights, which is true. That's something that Freddy was very critical about when he would do the pregame shows with his over the years, not play well at into the first half and then not play well to open the second half. They scored on both possessions they scored to close the first half, they scored their first the second half, and if I'm not mistaken against Southern Miss, I think they did the same thing. So maybe we're Maybe that's one thing we can be optimistic about. We're playing better. Billy in the middle. 00:35:12 Speaker 2: Eight eleven play, sixty one yard drive, you kick a field goal, you go up nine to three in the third quarter, three number one team in the country. Yeah, and then you, I think, you get some goosebumps. You start to say, is this real. 00:35:25 Speaker 1: That's when I was texting my buddy and I texted him, I said, I can't let myself accept what's happening right now, because they were They're up nine to three, and you get excited, like, man, the defense is playing so good. We held Georgia without a touchdown for the whole first half. 00:35:40 Speaker 2: Then they convert on a second and twenty, they convert on a third and four, they get a field goal up, and then UK goes three and out and then Georgia. 00:35:50 Speaker 1: Finds the momentum. And I will say this to about our offense much better on third down. You said we didn't have that third and down third and four or we converted a lot of third down tonight. I don't know what the number is, maybe you can find it somewhere, but well, on third down, I felt like we were really nine of sixteen. I mean, that's better than what we usually get. That's pretty good. Yeah, heck yeah, he usually were like four of sixteen or something like that. What'd you think of Brock? I thought he played pretty well. I thought, uh, he didn't make any of the tentative throws that we saw him make against South Carolina. Maybe it's because he was playing Georgia. He knows those guys. He had little something extra that he wanted to prove to probably do the Georgia guys. But I thought he uh, I thought he you know, if I had to give him a grade, maybe a B. Made some good throw. He did make some good throws, made one costly mistake he made one bad mistake tripsack led to points for Georgia early in the game. And then you heard mclroy say, you know, he got a hold it with two hands, and he's back to he's holding with one hand and they knocked it right out of his hand. There, who's next, Matt, Matt, go ahead. 00:36:53 Speaker 15: Matt, Hey shout out to the teleponics and communications maestro Billy. 00:37:00 Speaker 1: Thank you. 00:37:02 Speaker 11: Two things I texted. I was at the game tonight. 00:37:05 Speaker 15: I texted a buddy in the third quarter and I said, I'm waiting for Kentucky to become Kentucky and I'm waiting for Georgia to become Georgia. And neither one happens. It was like neither one wanted to win the game. It was a weird thing to watch. And to your point earlier about the goosebumps, dude, I'm telling you, hair on my arms and legs standing up late in the game. 00:37:33 Speaker 11: It was crazy. So yeah, I was waiting on both to happen. Neither one did. It was almost likeneda. 00:37:39 Speaker 15: One wanted to win the game, but here we are. 00:37:42 Speaker 11: It was a fun game to watch, and yeah, that's awesome. 00:37:46 Speaker 1: All right. Appreciate it man, Thanks you very much. Yeah, that's what I think. He was kind of like what I was. I was like, I've a texted my buddies, and I'm not going to let myself accept what's happening right now, because you do start believing you're up nine to three and this one team in the country. Yeah, your defense is playing so well, you've kept them out of the end zone. I mean, surety, we'll get a break here there, We'll get a ball bounce our way one or two times. Just never happened. It just didn't happen tonight. Not tonight. 00:38:13 Speaker 5: No. 00:38:14 Speaker 1: Who's next, Bill, Jerry, Jerry, go ahead, Jerry, Hey. 00:38:17 Speaker 16: Yeah, Hey, Well, first off, I want to say that I think the coaching was a lot better this week than last week, because I think a lot of what happened last week was coaching. I think we had a lot better this week and gave you a lot of encouragion for the rest of the season. But for those who want to criticize stoops, you know, there at the end of the half, if you get a sack or tackling bounds and the clock runs out, then everybody's saying he's stupid for not kicking the field goal, and so he did a smart thing. And at the end of the game, it's not only was fourth and seven, it's fourth and seven. You had four timeouts, and everybody used to play analytics. You look at the analytics, the analytics would be you have a better chance of kicking putting the ball with four timeouts get the ball back about your own thirty than you did. Of what happened with the way the defense is playing, you know, but what's gonna that was the number one defense to the country. And what Step said the post game wasn't like been fourth and sixth. He was kind of like video like fourth and three or four they might have gone for it. So I mean, right now my view is is, uh, if they play acted tonight, they could win the rest of the games in their schedule. If they protected last week, they can except for Ohio and Merge State, they can lose in the rest of the games in their schedules. So you know, you gotta feel better about the rest of the season after night. Although it is you know, it. 00:39:28 Speaker 1: Is, it is really disappointing, Jerry, we appreciate it. So that's that, Like I said, Billy, that's the question we're gonna have all this week. Will the real slim shady please stand up? What's the real Kentucky team? Is it what we saw against South Carolina? Or is what we saw not against Kentucky? 00:39:43 Speaker 5: Yeah? 00:39:44 Speaker 1: I don't know. 00:39:44 Speaker 2: Maybe South Carolina's defensive line is that good. Maybe they just dominated Kentucky early and then that's football kind of like the caller said, that snowballs into a poor performance. But I think they showed me a lot responding like that. 00:39:58 Speaker 1: Didn't didn't they? To you Ryan? The old line definitely did. They responded to all the criticism. I think they had something to prove tonight and they did. I think our defense had something to prove tonight, and they did. Secondary. I don't remember any of the glaring mistakes or anything made some big legs. Zion children fromen We already talked about him. Ty Bryant had a massive play one time. Overall, how do I think the team? I think we may not play with. It's gonna be tough to keep a team out of the end zone in the SEC when you got Tennessee and Ole Miss and Texas coming up, But why not you could do that play that way against the other teams and win those games, and the defense could maybe win those games for you. Boy, you're right about Tennessee. Did you see their game tonight? Was it seventy one to nothing? Is that what it was? It was sixty five to zero. At a halftime. 00:40:48 Speaker 2: They actually asked Kent State if they wanted to go to reduced quarters in a running clock, and Kent State said, no. 00:40:56 Speaker 1: I kind of respect that. I don't want you to embarrass me. I'm gonna play. We're gonna play. We're gonna We're gonna We're gonna man up, We're gonna play you. I don't wanna send a message to my my, my players that I'm embarrassed and I want to try to get out here before you run up a bunch of points on us. 00:41:13 Speaker 2: It was thirty to nothing in the first quarter, and Tennessee went surprise on side kick. 00:41:18 Speaker 1: Oh did they really Well, that's why the Kent State was all coach was all ticked off. He was mad from them doing it on side kicking you up thirty to nothing. No, we'll play it out. We'll play it out. We're gonna kick you in the mouth. Oh, here's one more text. We'll take another phone call okay. Is there a reason Barryon is not returning punts this year like he did last year? I'm confused about that. I'm kind of the same way. I mean, I don't know if they're just trying to give him a break, trying to you know, when he's out there, teams don't punt to him, you know, they try to just get a fair catch all the time time or kick it out of bounds. I don't I don't have an answer for that, do you. I don't know. 00:41:57 Speaker 2: But the receivers have not lived up to their expectations this year. 00:42:01 Speaker 1: No I said. Dane had three catches in the first half. Barriyon I know, had one in the second half. Maclin had one in the second half. Fred Ferrier had one, but they called it out of bounds, all right? That was tough. That was another Why didn't it go our way? Tolls on the on the out of bound line? I don't remember. Did Anthony Brown Stevens catch any I think you had a sweep one time? That was a running, Yeah, that was a run. His next Billy Bones, Bones, go ahead, Bones, Bryan. 00:42:30 Speaker 3: I love ks. 00:42:31 Speaker 16: I'm a huge fan, but on to hurt some feelings and then I'm gonna pick you guys up by you bubal. 00:42:36 Speaker 3: What was your prediction for the What was your prediction for the game today? 00:42:40 Speaker 1: Your final score twenty seven to ten. 00:42:42 Speaker 3: I think, Okay, we're playing the number one team in the country. We're having an offensive line that's seventy five freshman, I guess, the best defensive line in the country, and we lose a one point game. Granted, we made a one mistake and got some calls, but even if at full strength, without our running back, without all of our alignment, we could have to play a perfect game to win that game, and we lose by one. Y'all better stand up, son. These freshmen showed out and showed off, and if they played like half of what they played with these freshmen, we're winning six or seven more games. Easy. Let's give what credit? Where credits do? We stood up? We showed out, and we showed them were not chumps. It's time to stand up, guys. Let's go. 00:43:31 Speaker 1: I hope there are more people like bones out there. I really do. They like they're now encourage of what they saw tonight and enthusiastic about the rest of the season, and not this stuff we had this past week, Billy, I'm gonna sell my season tickets. We're only gonna lead, We're only gonna beat the three steaky teams and maybe Van Dey four wins tops. I don't you know, I don't want to hear any of that anymore. 00:43:53 Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, that's I think probably the biggest takeaway of the game is them responding to that adversity. They didn't respond very well against South Carolina, and then you saw them come out and put on a performance like that. It kind of reinvigorates. I'm sure some that were ready to sell seasons. 00:44:07 Speaker 1: Yes, yeah, Well there was a lot of red inn there tonight, and it was because I think a lot of people sold their tickets. They didn't want to go. Shame, shame, shame. Don't you wish you'd have been there for that? As a heck of an atmosphere, heck of environment. Didn't on those wide shots they took, didn't didn't Crokerfield look beautiful? 00:44:21 Speaker 17: That did? 00:44:21 Speaker 1: It looked really did beautiful. It looked awesome. Right, did you take a break? We got to take one? We take another call? Uh, let me take one, all right? We got bo bo, go ahead, bo. 00:44:34 Speaker 13: What's going on? 00:44:34 Speaker 14: Round. 00:44:35 Speaker 1: How are you bo? 00:44:36 Speaker 13: Pretty good man, dude, talk about taking the prom queen to the dance and somebody else sneaking in and taking the last dance from you. 00:44:44 Speaker 12: Man. 00:44:45 Speaker 13: That was that was tough, man, That was real tough. 00:44:48 Speaker 5: But you asked the. 00:44:49 Speaker 13: Question earlier about how do you judge this team or how do you look at it? It's hard to judge at it looking at it from what the three games? You got a game that ends at halftime or a third order lightning delay last week and then this week. I mean, the defense played lights out tonight. But it's almost like last week they were looking ahead to Georgia. All the headlines were saying college game day coming to town. Yeah, and then you look at that. It's pretty hard to. 00:45:17 Speaker 1: See the night appreciate it, Bo. You know that's why it hurt. South Carolina beat us. They took our game day away from us. Then we watch them on TV and they go down seventeen to nothing, they go up seventeen to nothing on LSU. It just kind of made it sting a little worse for us. But I hope a lot of people are like bones in Bow that they're feeling better about the team about this season. You know, Florida winning at Florida, you should get that. You should be able to beat Auburn here at home, Vandy at home, Murray State, Ohio, Louisville at home. 00:45:52 Speaker 5: Now. 00:45:52 Speaker 1: I don't know about those other three games Tennessee, Ole Miss and Texas on the road. But by god, you just took the number one team added down to the last play of the game. I think you can compete against anybody. I think that's the mindset you have to have, some mindset you got to have. That's right, Billy, all right, we'll take this, is it? We'll our last break, Yeah, take last break. Last segment eight five nine two eight h two two eight seven Kats lose a tough one man thirteen to twelve to Georgia l rit Kroger Field. God bless all you fans were there because you made it a great environment for everybody. We'll be right back and wrap it up here on the Local Total Dealers KSR postgame show. Final segment, Local Total dotors KSR postgame Show. Ryan and Billy in for Matt. Got some great text messages, some great tweets, calls this or we got a full bank of calls for this final segment, So we'll try to do one text one call again. This is my buddy, Nick says, this reminds me of the Tennessee game when Stoops didn't go for it on fourth down. You know, he did say after the South Carolina game that he went with the analytics. That's why he went for it on fourth down. But from here on, Iany, he's gonna go with these gut I mean, I guess maybe he felt it didn't feel like it that it was gonna work for him. 00:47:04 Speaker 2: Well, he said it would have been if it was less than fourth and eight or fourth and seven, then he. 00:47:07 Speaker 1: Would have gone for it. So Matt says on Twitter, you guy, You guys have to add the tipped interception opportunity that went through Jordan Love's hands into the Georgia receiver's hands. Another example of why didn't the ball bounce our way? It did, went right through love It's hands, right into the Georgia guy's hands and he made the catch. All right, who's our next callerh Nick? Nick? Go ahead? Nick? 00:47:34 Speaker 18: Hey, guys, I don't know how to feel about this. I'm on one hand that our defense is really good. On the other hand, I don't trust our offense, so if we I feel like, if we get behind more than ten points to anybody, I'm not sure we're gonna be able to come back. Also, I'm a Steelers fan, so I watched twelve quarters of football and all I've seen is my teams go. I'd like to touch down tomorrow hopefully, but I'm I'm I think right now, I think we go seventy five. I'm way more optimistic than I was last week. I was one of those fans that sold all of my season tickets and now I kind of regret it. 00:48:16 Speaker 1: Shame. 00:48:18 Speaker 18: Yeah, I know I'll be back next year and I'll probably end up buying ticket buying trying to buy my tickets back. Yeah, yeah, but I'm I think, I don't know. I think, though it's crazy how much better run blocking we are than past blocking, but against the lesser teams who struggled to score, I think we could just maybe we can just run it and and I don't I'm not sure. I don't know how to feel about it. 00:48:44 Speaker 1: All right, Nick, appreciate it, Thanks for the phone call. Shame shame shame on Nick sold those season tickets. Now I wish as he had him back Billy, I don't think he's alone. Shame, shame, shame. This is from Randolph on Twitter. Stoop's coaching tonight may be frustrating, but he represents the closest we've come so far to beating Georgia. Even Stoops goes three to nine and gets fired after this season, then Kentucky is guaranteed to never get a win against Georgia ever again. Georgia. 00:49:10 Speaker 11: That didn't. 00:49:11 Speaker 1: Rich Brooks beat Georgia in O nine. That's the last time Kentucky beat him. When Morgan Newton went down there as our quarterback and Randall Cobbs scored a touchdown, two touchdowns, two touchdowns, Okay, and they beat Georgia with Rich Brooks in nine. Stoops I felt like though has definitely narrowed the gap. And Vince Merrill said on this radio show, many times we've jumped, We've crossed a lot of hurdles, We've done things this program has never done before, but we still have to prove we can go out and beat Georgia. Had a chance tonight, Billy, they sure did had a chance. Who's next, Steve, Steve, go ahead, Steve. 00:49:49 Speaker 19: Hey, guys, I just wanted to tell everybody tonight. You know Stoops made the right calls at halftime. Analytics say against Georgia, you don't take that extra shot at the end zone. You kicked the field goal, and that's why he said at fourth and seven he would have went for it, but fourth and eight he doesn't. That's analytics, So we can't be mad at him for doing the analytics when that's what we want. Also, the freshman off on the offensive line played much better tonight. Maybe they need to keep playing. They looked great. And the last thing to beat a team that hasn't lost a game in forty plus games, you have to get one of the bounces to go your way, the interception, one of the fumbles. I saw three plays tonight where on offense we got our helmets ripped off and we didn't get any face mask penalties, when the targeting penalty, when we got hit in the head. You need something like that to go your way if you're going to beat a team like a. 00:50:47 Speaker 1: Team like Georgia. You're right, You're absolutely right. Steve appreciate it. Yeah, this seth on Twitter says Georgia fumbing the ball forward for a first down and helps them win the game at so Kentucky Football. That's right. It's just see now things have gone, especially these last two games. Every bounce would go the other way or if there was a break, it need to be made. It was against Kentucky. 00:51:09 Speaker 2: I forgot about that. That was the last drive and they fumbled forward because they were and that's what. 00:51:16 Speaker 1: The un caller was talking about. We had a player was right standing right there that maybe if he was paying attention, could have fallen on the football, but he was kind of looking at the ref complaining. 00:51:24 Speaker 11: At the time. 00:51:24 Speaker 1: So all right, it's got another phone call. Who we got red? Red? Go ahead? 00:51:28 Speaker 16: Red? 00:51:30 Speaker 5: Hey, what's up? 00:51:31 Speaker 8: Guys? 00:51:31 Speaker 1: Are you red? 00:51:33 Speaker 11: I'm I'm all right. 00:51:36 Speaker 20: Look, I don't know how to feel about tonight. A little disappointed, but uh and I'm not a moral victory type of guy. 00:51:44 Speaker 11: But I think what. 00:51:45 Speaker 20: I'm the most disappointed about tonight, quite honestly. 00:51:48 Speaker 5: Is the callers. 00:51:51 Speaker 20: I mean, I mean, let's look in the mirror. Like last weekend. I mean, we thought there was a chance that we went three four games, we beat Murray stayed in Ohio. Yeah, like that was a legit chance, Like we were on the edge of the bridge. 00:52:06 Speaker 11: We wanted to. 00:52:07 Speaker 20: Fire Stoops like I'm disappointed in us, guys. I mean, are you kidding me? Like, we took Georgia, we had a chance to be Georgia. 00:52:16 Speaker 1: We lost by one point. 00:52:17 Speaker 20: Like I'm I am so frustrated that we lost this game, but I mean, come on, like, is there really a game on the schedule now, the fact that we took Georgia to the line that we don't think we have a shot to win, I mean, we one hundred percent. 00:52:33 Speaker 11: Need to make some changes. 00:52:34 Speaker 20: We need to you know, step up. You know, there's some things I would I would have done differently than Stoops, But I mean, come on, like, like, like, can we just look back seven days ago. 00:52:46 Speaker 5: And look where we were. We thought we. 00:52:48 Speaker 20: Were gonna we thought we could win three more games, and we took a team that had not has not lost a regular season game in forty one games, and we come to the wires. 00:53:00 Speaker 1: Amen. 00:53:01 Speaker 20: I mean, yeah, dude, I'm not a moral victory guy. Like this sucks, like sucks. I'm so frustrated we lost, but come on, let's get some perspective here, Like this is insane that anybody is upset and like like okay, like be upset for twenty four hours. I get it, But like, I hope that every UK fan in the world wakes up tomorrow morning and is really pleased with where we are. And if they're not, then you know, I don't know, Maybe they should take some more cornbread hymn for something. 00:53:36 Speaker 1: I have no idea, but come on now, read a good call. Let's go, let's go appreciate it. Yeah, great, great call. He's right. I hope there are more people. I hope most of the fan base Billy are like Red that can see the forest through the trees and see that this is still a good football team. They're as good as we thought. It was bad against South Carolina, but this is a good football team that can still win a lot of games this year. 00:54:01 Speaker 2: Yeah, offense is going to start scoring some touchdowns. You're going to have to if you're gonna want to win some of these. 00:54:05 Speaker 1: But he's right. I mean, you could be a Florida State fan, right, could be a Florida State fan or a Florida fan, that's right. This is from Patrick on Twitter. Majority of Big Blue Nation would be looking at this game differently if we won last week against South Carolina. Oh yeah, absolutely absolutely. If we had beaten South Carolina, game day would have been here, and you played Georgia to a one point game. You're thinking that maybe you can go ten and two again. Oh yeah, we can beat Ole Miss. We can win every game and maybe sneak up and beat Texas. 00:54:37 Speaker 2: Student's normally has a clunker, right, that was It was South Carolina. 00:54:41 Speaker 1: That was the clunker. It's already over. Everything is positive from here on out. Who's next, Billy Dwayne? Dwayne? Go ahead, Dwayne? 00:54:49 Speaker 21: Welln you you just said it. This a Billy RS Florida postgame show. 00:54:53 Speaker 1: It is, That's right, it is. 00:54:55 Speaker 21: Yes, if we would have won last week and this week kind of happened, that's what we've been saying. But we didn't win last week, and this week we played with them one point. So I think we just need to keep looking forward. The game we had tonight, that's what we are. This is the team we are. We may have had. 00:55:17 Speaker 5: There was a. 00:55:17 Speaker 21: Couple of there was a couple of penalties that we should have had that didn't go our way. When we got the fifteen yard face mass penalty, when our guy got his face, got his helmet ripped off, and we got our faith mask penalty that should have been an off setting and it didn't happen. But now we've got to look forward and we can beat every team on the schedule the rest of the season. We can win out because there ain't nobody that we're going to play any better than Georgia the rest of the season. We played them to a one point game, and we had a chance, we had a chance to beat them, and it didn't happened. But we've got to look forward and we can win out the rest of the season and we can go to the playoffs. This team is good. We had a clunker last week, like you said, but we can win out and this team is mark for destiny, and we can win out, and we can win every single game left on our schedule this year. There's not a game left on our schedule other than Tennessee is going to be the hardest game left on our schedule. And then we can go down there and we can beat them, and. 00:56:33 Speaker 1: Dwayne, you got it going. Man, appreciate it. Thanks to the phone call. Dwayne's guys going to the playoffs. He's so encouraged about what he saw tonight. To heck, with that South Carolina game, you almost beat Georgia. You can win out and go to the playoffs. And if they went out, they would go to the playoffs. That would be a lot. I hope it happens. I hope it happens too. It would be awesome. That's a pretty tough road to climb. Daniel reeferd tweets insaidn't forget Brooks also beat Georgia in two thousand and six in Lexington. That was when we tore the goal post down beat Georgia, and we tore the goal post down in six and then went on nine and Athens and beat him with Morgan Newton his quarterback. All right, who's next? I got two more? Two more? I go ahead. 00:57:12 Speaker 17: Ian Hey, I feel like when you look at last week that they maybe had some speed off the edge against our old line, and I feel like that's what we struggle with because when you look at Georgia, I feel like we match up well against their play style. They're just a more talented version than us. So I was wondering what you guys think about that, and how many other teams on the schedule have a speedy type rush on the edge. And I'll hang out and listen. 00:57:39 Speaker 1: I I don't have that answer. I don't know, but you're right. South Carolina's got that freshman, that dude who lit LSU up today doing the same thing. The dude, if he was eligible for the NFL Draft, he'd be a first round pick this year. I think he's that good. Stuart, Yes, thank you, that's his name. You saw the video clip after our South Carolina game. We tripled timed him one time. He still got through and got to the quarterback. The dude is awesome. So I had to answer your question, Ian, I don't know who else has speedy ends like that that we're going to face coming up. That's a question for Nick and Adam Luckett and those guys that follow a little bit more closer than I did. 00:58:17 Speaker 2: There were a few injuries to the Georgia defensive line, so they were definitely not at full sex that's true, and I think they even had one to end the game. 00:58:24 Speaker 1: So a couple things I want to bring out before we get out here. Was being only one more call? Yeah, UK definitely in my opinion, won the line of scrimmage both sides of the football. I never thought I would have said that going into the game, but I think really Kentucky won the game up front, and that's why they were able to have a little success today. 00:58:49 Speaker 2: Well, that's part of the reason why we were so frustrated after South Carolina, because the talent is there, you know it. She just said, it's about the coaching staff putting them in the right positions to succeed. 00:58:59 Speaker 13: All. 00:59:00 Speaker 1: I think there's another good interesting stat The only time Georgia got into Kentucky territory, well, the first time was when Brock fumbled it and they recovered it on the twenty three. That was their first time they were in our territory, and like their offense didn't get into Georgia territory until like the second half. That's how good our defense was tonight. I don't know what happened last week against South Carolina, while they had trouble defensively and have made some mistakes, but that defense tonight, dude, they were awesome. The rainer, Dude, Dumas, Johnson, Dereck Jackson, JJ Weaver, those guys in the middle man, those linebackers, they were awesome tonight. And the guys up front, Silver Oxen Dine of course Big Dion who I'm missing Ripkey, Yes, he did. Those guys were all awesome, So all right, we have one more caller, Chuck. Chuck, you're our last caller. Bring it home for us. 01:00:00 Speaker 22: I'm I'm a younger Kentucky football fan, and I went to the game tonight, and to piggyback off what you said earlier in the show is talking about how the punt was. What we're gonna remember. I disagreed at the game. You know, I heard the Georgia fans can barking like I feel like they we earned a little bit of respect, not just from Georgia fans, but from football fans all across America. And even though we lost, it was a one point game, and I'm I got to say, I'm proud of it. I stayed the whole game. I stayed my Kentucky home. I stayed in my Kentucky home and gainst South Carolina, and I had to say, I'm proud. I'm proud of what we've come from just from last week. 01:00:44 Speaker 1: Chuck, that's a great call to end on. That's a great call, and I hope there's a lot more fans like you man that are that way, that feel that way. After leaving the stadium tonight, what at the end of the game, when when people were walking out, were people pretty optimistic, do you think? 01:00:57 Speaker 22: I mean they started walking out before we even got the ball back, and people they. 01:01:05 Speaker 10: Just gave they gave up. 01:01:06 Speaker 1: I mean, yeah, it's. 01:01:11 Speaker 5: Sad to see. It's sad to see. 01:01:12 Speaker 20: You know. 01:01:13 Speaker 1: Well, we look forward to having you back there next next Saturday at noon against Ohio. All right, brother, appreciate it. So to be safe going home. It's our last collar, Chuck. We ended up with some good colors there, Abilly, that last segment made me feel a little better about what we just went through tonight. In the the gut punch that we took from Georgia, losing one point one point one point to the number one team in the country. Point to the number one team in the country. You're that close to a program changing wind that could have changed everything recruiting, the national playoff scene, ESPN, what they were able to have led with that game all night, tonight, all day tomorrow. You were that close, that close, just couldn't get a break and just couldn't get it done, couldn't get in the end zone. Well, unlike last time, there's a lot to build on. There is a lot to build on, and somehow we've played eight straight quarters in the SEC and not scored a touchdown. That's got to change. Come on, Bush, So we won't be able to have a chance to score the SEC touchdown till the Ole Miss game we got Ohio, is there a bye week then? And then Ole Miss? Yeah, I'm not sure. I think there's a bye week coming up somewhere pretty soon. All right, that's gonna do it. We appreciate all our phone calls. You made me feel better. You guys had called in and kind of commiserated with all of us because it was a tough one. It's a tougher one for all UK fans that have to walk away tonight knowing you had a chance to make history. You came up one point short. So for our Telephonic Systems Comptroller Billy R. Sports, thank you for Buck Bona Vista, for the rest of our crew, for Coco Tucson, Ryan Leman signing off on the totity.
