My name is Marcus Stewart. <v Speaker 2>I have Kyle Hilliard here. Hello. <v Speaker 1>Hello, how's it going? Ey doing good? Can't complain. I'm <v Speaker 1>asking something to our list of things to talk about, Marcus, <v Speaker 1>I think I think you see it right. <v Speaker 2>I do see it. I see a Google doc being <v Speaker 2>updated in real time. It's very exciting for audio listeners. <v Speaker 2>You would not believe the words that Kyle just typed. <v Speaker 2>It's yeah, it's fine. I love building this up bigger <v Speaker 2>than what it actually is. <v Speaker 3>Uh. <v Speaker 2>Someone else who was bigger than they actually are on camera? <v Speaker 2>Charles Hart? <v Speaker 4>Hello, I mean, aren't we all bigger than we actually <v Speaker 4>are on camera? <v Speaker 2>I mean, I don't know if you watched a video version, <v Speaker 2>but we have a tiny disclaimer on the right that <v Speaker 2>says actual size. <v Speaker 3>Okay, okay, yeah you guys, but I but it doesn't <v Speaker 3>apply to me. <v Speaker 2>You're saying, no, no, no, no. We have a tinier disclaimer <v Speaker 2>your box specifically. <v Speaker 3>That's intuitively it's smaller. <v Speaker 2>Wouldn't they Would this be a funny gag if you <v Speaker 2>if we did do that on our windows, where it <v Speaker 2>was like a rear view menu our mirror where says <v Speaker 2>objects closer than they might appear. Would that makes sense <v Speaker 2>with that play? <v Speaker 1>Yeah? <v Speaker 3>I think well, it depends on the screen you're watching <v Speaker 3>it on, though, right. <v Speaker 2>A lot of our listeners do have like wall size <v Speaker 2>TVs that they watched this and watched this on that <v Speaker 2>probably right, Yeah, surely is like sitting down to watch <v Speaker 2>a movie and they throw on like the. <v Speaker 1>Game Informer show. Yeah. <v Speaker 2>I like to think that we're the distraction, like when <v Speaker 2>you know, some people watch a movie and play a <v Speaker 2>game at the same time, or a TV show in <v Speaker 2>a game. I think I like to think that we're <v Speaker 2>that but to a movie. So you watch a movie <v Speaker 2>and then you're also watching the Game Informer show try <v Speaker 2>the same time. <v Speaker 1>I've certainly considered going to see like kids movies with <v Speaker 1>my young daughter, and I'm trying to remember if I've <v Speaker 1>ever popped in a podcast like on an air, I <v Speaker 1>don't think I did. I think I always give the <v Speaker 1>movie my full Would it be too loud? Noise canceling AirPods? <v Speaker 1>You know, you got it. You're good to go. <v Speaker 3>What's a movie that you would like? You want to <v Speaker 3>see it so little that you would podcast over it. <v Speaker 1>But you're playing to see that I paid to see? <v Speaker 3>Is that that's what? That's what this context is, right? Yeah, <v Speaker 3>you're saying this is at home. <v Speaker 1>No, I'm saying like going to a movie theater, Like <v Speaker 1>my kid wants to go see a movie, and I'm like, okay, <v Speaker 1>I'll take you. But but like I wanted to watch <v Speaker 1>it so little that I popped in a podcast. I <v Speaker 1>don't think I ever crossed that line, but I think <v Speaker 1>I came close for sure. <v Speaker 3>But is there, like, is there an example of the <v Speaker 3>type of I just don't know what movie you're so <v Speaker 3>disinterested in. <v Speaker 1>Let's see, there's one I'm looking up. The only thing? Okay, <v Speaker 1>there was this movie that came out in twenty nineteen <v Speaker 1>called Wonder Park. It was an animated film. Me Lacunis <v Speaker 1>does the voice of an animal in it. I slept <v Speaker 1>like for sixty percent of it, Like it was just interminable. <v Speaker 1>It was terrible, terrible movie. <v Speaker 3>Don't even recognize this movie. <v Speaker 1>You're gonna say that sounds vaguely. It does not exist. <v Speaker 1>It made no impact on the pop culture consciousness and whatsoever. <v Speaker 1>But me and my daughter were there and we were <v Speaker 1>watching it. <v Speaker 2>Is there as a parent, Kyle? Is there when you <v Speaker 2>taking a kid to a movie and you have no <v Speaker 2>interest in that, You're just doing it to make them happy? <v Speaker 2>Is there pressure to stay awake for at least enough <v Speaker 2>of it if they want to talk about it afterwards, <v Speaker 2>Like you want to be able to sort of like <v Speaker 2>react alongside them, Like, yeah, I love that part. <v Speaker 1>I guess I don't want to. You don't want your <v Speaker 1>child to think you don't care about the movie that <v Speaker 1>they're excited about. You want to be excited about the <v Speaker 1>things your kids are excited. <v Speaker 2>About, which is why you slept through sixty percent of it. <v Speaker 1>There were a couple of movies that were great naps <v Speaker 1>that you know, Yeah, does she like grill you afterwards? <v Speaker 2>Like were you paying attention? You're like, yeah, totally, I <v Speaker 2>love that one part. <v Speaker 3>I feel like when you see movies with kids, you're <v Speaker 3>like did you like it? And you're like, yeah, what'd <v Speaker 3>you think? It was good? <v Speaker 2>And like that's all yeah. <v Speaker 1>Fun. <v Speaker 3>Talking about the movie Wonder Park. I look it up <v Speaker 3>on Wikipedia, a bunch of uh these characters have alternate <v Speaker 3>you k. Voices? <v Speaker 2>Who's me? <v Speaker 3>Melakuni is? Like, the main cast is the same, which <v Speaker 3>is Jennifer Garner, Matthew Broderick, Mila Coon Meelacoon is sorry, <v Speaker 3>John Oliver is the same, but he does have a <v Speaker 3>British accent, so that tracks all right, Keenan Thompson gets <v Speaker 3>swapped out? <v Speaker 1>What why? Yeah? All right, you guys, this is this <v Speaker 1>is from the IMDb trivia for Wonder Park, so grain <v Speaker 1>of salt. I love IMDb trivia, but you can't take <v Speaker 1>it at face value. It's a lot of made up stuff. <v Speaker 1>But this is like this basically will stand in for <v Speaker 1>a review of Wonder Park. You guys ready, okay? Yeah. <v Speaker 1>This film has no credited director. The Director's Guild almost <v Speaker 1>always refuses to allow a film to be released without <v Speaker 1>a credited director due to various legalities and contractual obligations. <v Speaker 1>How the filmmakers of this film were allowed to release <v Speaker 1>a film without a credited director remains unclear. What's the Okay, <v Speaker 1>Now I'm infinitely more interested in this movie. Now, Now <v Speaker 1>you gotta go watch a Wonder Park. It does credit <v Speaker 1>someone named Dylan Brown on IMDb. <v Speaker 3>On the Wikipedia, it says Brown was fired near the <v Speaker 3>end of production. Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon Movies subsequently did <v Speaker 3>not include a director's credit in the completed film. <v Speaker 2>So he must have done something. Yeah. <v Speaker 1>So when you go to the movie, it doesn't say <v Speaker 1>directed by, it doesn't say it such and such a film. Okay, <v Speaker 1>it just has redacted redacted. <v Speaker 2>Okay, so it's like he must have done something bad, right, <v Speaker 2>because it's like if he just got let go for <v Speaker 2>like business reasons, they would probably still credit him. So <v Speaker 2>he must have done something like, oh, we have to <v Speaker 2>cancel you basically right. <v Speaker 1>Yes, yeah, Well so wonder part go check it out? <v Speaker 2>Directed by question Mark? Well, yes, you know who's uh. <v Speaker 2>I'm trying to find a segue to this about redacted <v Speaker 2>directors who might be living in shame and infamy now <v Speaker 2>and tie it back into video games. We've been playing. <v Speaker 2>I've been playing games that I'm not ashamed to talk <v Speaker 2>about that were directed by people that are probably credited, <v Speaker 2>that are credited. Yeah, one of those video games, Kyle. <v Speaker 2>I'm excited to get your take on. This just came <v Speaker 2>out in Early Access this week. It's called Questmaster, which <v Speaker 2>the easy pitch for this is remember Super Mario Maker. <v Speaker 2>Remember how when that came out, everyone said, wouldn't it <v Speaker 2>be cool if they did this for like Zelda, like <v Speaker 2>if you could just build your own Zelda, And then <v Speaker 2>the Questmaster just says, yeah, we got that, we can <v Speaker 2>do that. This is a game that I forget the <v Speaker 2>first time I saw it. It was like, I think <v Speaker 2>it was last year at an indie showcase, or it <v Speaker 2>might have even been like a Nintendo Direct, but it <v Speaker 2>might it was something, but I remember I kind of <v Speaker 2>filed it away and be like, that looks interesting. I <v Speaker 2>want to I want to check that out. It's a <v Speaker 2>game that specifically apes a link to the past, specifically <v Speaker 2>just sixteen bent and I even just like just the pixels, <v Speaker 2>but just like the art direction, like the animations to <v Speaker 2>like your little character swings the sword in the same <v Speaker 2>sort of like flurry that link does. A lot of <v Speaker 2>the character designs are kind of that squat link to <v Speaker 2>the past style, you know, just like the even the <v Speaker 2>sound effects and you know, not the same sound effects <v Speaker 2>of course, but they sort of like harken back to <v Speaker 2>the Link to the past, so it's very much like <v Speaker 2>build your own Link to the Pass. I've been playing <v Speaker 2>a bit of it over the last couple of days, uh, <v Speaker 2>building some dungeons and as well as playing other people's dungeons, <v Speaker 2>because of course you can upload your creations online and <v Speaker 2>have the world judge and rate them, and it seems <v Speaker 2>pretty cool so far. It's got some rough edges sort <v Speaker 2>of like a reminder of it being in early access, <v Speaker 2>and some some weird bugs I've run into, but as <v Speaker 2>of now it seems promising. So what's interesting is that <v Speaker 2>this game isn't just like a level editor like there <v Speaker 2>does seem to be like a single player component to it. <v Speaker 1>That was my first big question. Is there, like is <v Speaker 1>there like a campaign, you know, is there a goal <v Speaker 1>or anything like that. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, Because you wake up in your little house like <v Speaker 2>classic Zelda style, you can pick one of three different characters. <v Speaker 2>You can either be a male or female or I <v Speaker 2>think it's. <v Speaker 1>A dog person. <v Speaker 2>I can't tell if it's a dog or a rabbit, <v Speaker 2>but it's like a fluffy, yeared, furry anthropomorphic thing. But <v Speaker 2>you pick one, you go through the sort of like <v Speaker 2>Zelder rigamarole of going to get your sword and training <v Speaker 2>with the weapon smith to like, hey, this is how <v Speaker 2>you do a spin attack, and this is how you <v Speaker 2>do this. There are different vendors in the town, some <v Speaker 2>of which aren't currently available in early access, and then <v Speaker 2>there's like a big castle that you can't get to <v Speaker 2>early on because there's guards blocking and they're like, hey, <v Speaker 2>you gotta go do stuff first where we can let <v Speaker 2>you in here. But the game directs you pretty quickly <v Speaker 2>to go to the level editor, which is its own shop, <v Speaker 2>and it's like, hey, come here and just make a level. <v Speaker 2>And there's no real tutorial to it, so it is <v Speaker 2>a lot of like just hovering over icons and reading <v Speaker 2>the tool tips figure out, okay, like how do I <v Speaker 2>actually do things? So there's that sort of like that <v Speaker 2>kind of rough period where you're just kind of clicking <v Speaker 2>things and just seeing what things does. But things are <v Speaker 2>divided into tabs in a pretty organized manner. But yeah, <v Speaker 2>it's just like you're just laying out rooms, you're setting, <v Speaker 2>you're putting enemies, you're placing traps, you can even place <v Speaker 2>some you know, you're placing chest items, weapons, and just <v Speaker 2>building your own dungeon. And it works like just as <v Speaker 2>like a mechanic. It works pretty intuitively. Like I was playing, <v Speaker 2>I was switching back between playing with a controller for <v Speaker 2>just like the running around doing Zelda stuff, and then <v Speaker 2>mouse for actual level editor, and like jumping in and <v Speaker 2>out of the editor is really smooth, like you can <v Speaker 2>just you can go from like I'm gonna put a <v Speaker 2>room down, put some stuff, and then immediately just jump <v Speaker 2>in and play it and then immediately go back to <v Speaker 2>the editor. Pretty It's pretty snappy, which I like, but <v Speaker 2>I it's someone that's never really aspire to. I feel <v Speaker 2>like I've thought about making my own Mario game more <v Speaker 2>than I've ever thought about making my own Zelda game. <v Speaker 2>And maybe because I feel super intimidated by Zelda, like <v Speaker 2>the idea of trying to make you know, because Mario <v Speaker 2>you're making an obstacle course, right yeah, and Zelda you're <v Speaker 2>like trying to think ahead of how players will think <v Speaker 2>and how they will react to unlocking things like that <v Speaker 2>seems hard. <v Speaker 1>It is. <v Speaker 2>I have found that as I've been laying things out <v Speaker 2>where I'm just like, what do I want this to <v Speaker 2>be exactly? And then on one hand, sort of replicating <v Speaker 2>just like the Zelda formula of like well, if I <v Speaker 2>put this weapon here, I need to have something in <v Speaker 2>this room that immediately teaches you how to use it <v Speaker 2>before you move on. And then also like just this <v Speaker 2>common sense like like oh, I'll put a trap door here, <v Speaker 2>but oh wait, if I put a trap door, then <v Speaker 2>I need a floor beneath it. Probably that it drops <v Speaker 2>you in, right, because you can you can build like <v Speaker 2>as many floors to a thing as you want. So <v Speaker 2>it's been I've learned as I like started, I put like, <v Speaker 2>I've only made one dungeon so far, piece of crap, <v Speaker 2>and you can actually there's an mngt out now that <v Speaker 2>you can watch where Kyle and I took a tour <v Speaker 2>of it. But it's it was enough to sort of <v Speaker 2>like get my feet wet, and then it gave me <v Speaker 2>a greater appreciation for like the design process of these games, <v Speaker 2>at least more than I already had were just like, yeah, <v Speaker 2>how do you I wonder if they started at the <v Speaker 2>end and working reverse because I felt like once I <v Speaker 2>laid out a bunch of stuff, it wasn't until I <v Speaker 2>started editing of when I ran through it it's like, okay, <v Speaker 2>I put there was I built one room where it <v Speaker 2>was like a long kind of like corridor, like a <v Speaker 2>narrow corridor, and I was like, I'm gonna put a <v Speaker 2>boomerang at the end, and then I want something in <v Speaker 2>the middle that's just gonna like screw you over that <v Speaker 2>you have to get pass get to the boomerang. So <v Speaker 2>I put because there's a grid layout two that you <v Speaker 2>can put to help make laying things out easier. And <v Speaker 2>so this like room was like three grid or three <v Speaker 2>squares wide, and in the middle square, I just put <v Speaker 2>the collapsible floor tiles that you know, you step on <v Speaker 2>you just fall through it. But it's kind of hard <v Speaker 2>to see unless you're paying attentions. It's like, oh, I <v Speaker 2>bet the person that would come in here, they would <v Speaker 2>bline it to the to the boom rangs. There's no <v Speaker 2>other threats in there. And then there's gonna fall on <v Speaker 2>the floor and that's gonna be funny. And then they <v Speaker 2>have to figure out they have to go around the perimeter. <v Speaker 2>And then I was like, but you know what'll be <v Speaker 2>even funnier if you put those what are those blades, <v Speaker 2>you know, those like spinning blades Kyle that when you <v Speaker 2>enter room, as soon as you approach them, they just <v Speaker 2>kind of fly at you. <v Speaker 1>Yeah. Yeah, they like they like, right, I know what <v Speaker 1>you're talking about. Yeah, I laughing though at you. Your <v Speaker 1>primary design focus being this would be funny. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, I mean it's kind of like I don't know <v Speaker 2>if you guys played a lot of Mario Maker, but <v Speaker 2>like I feel like that was like the motivation from <v Speaker 2>like not only like is this cool, but also wouldn't <v Speaker 2>it be funny if like they're gonna think this is <v Speaker 2>this and they're gonna get completely screwed over and it's <v Speaker 2>gonna it's gonna make me, it's gonna make them really upset, <v Speaker 2>but I'm gonna be laughing on the other side. And <v Speaker 2>that's why I took four of those spinny blades and <v Speaker 2>I just put them in the corners of the room. <v Speaker 2>And there's not enough space in this room for for <v Speaker 2>really a way for you to maneuver around them, So <v Speaker 2>as soon as you get in, you're just like assaulted <v Speaker 2>by them, and by the time you get out you <v Speaker 2>have maybe like a heart left and they're like, this <v Speaker 2>is like a bad design and it's funny. But then <v Speaker 2>when you have to do it over and over because <v Speaker 2>the one downside, though, I think it's necessary that every <v Speaker 2>time you edit while you're playing it, it resets the <v Speaker 2>room back to the beginning. So if you have the <v Speaker 2>boomerang and decide, oh, I need to change something, then <v Speaker 2>you have to go get the boomerang again because it <v Speaker 2>just puts everything back where it was, So you have <v Speaker 2>to keep that in mind as you're like running through it. <v Speaker 2>You're like, oh, if I change something, then I'm gonna <v Speaker 2>have to do all those sequence of events over again, <v Speaker 2>or unless I feel like skipping through it. What's also <v Speaker 2>cool is that you can do some like light programming, <v Speaker 2>where you can edit the logic for how things work. <v Speaker 2>So for chest, you can you can just put a <v Speaker 2>chest down, or you can set it to where it <v Speaker 2>appears when you fulfill a certain condition. So some of <v Speaker 2>them are like, oh, this chest only appears when you <v Speaker 2>kill everything in the room, or this chest only appears <v Speaker 2>when you light the torches, or and there's even you <v Speaker 2>can set it by sequence. They're like, okay, if you <v Speaker 2>do if you sit. I still haven't really messed around <v Speaker 2>with this, so I'm not entirely sure how it works. <v Speaker 2>But my suspicion is just like, oh, if you act, <v Speaker 2>if you have three different switches in the room, you <v Speaker 2>can assign like one, two, and three to them, saying <v Speaker 2>that this is the sequence they need to be activated <v Speaker 2>in for the chest to appear or whatever reward because <v Speaker 2>you can it doesn't have to just be chests. You <v Speaker 2>can have like heart pieces or money or any sort <v Speaker 2>of reward just be tied to that. So that's kind <v Speaker 2>of fun. And it's again it's sort of that peak <v Speaker 2>behind the curtain of like, oh, yeah, I guess that's <v Speaker 2>probably how they do it when they're actually making these <v Speaker 2>games Nintendo. <v Speaker 1>I mean like it just gives you, it just sort <v Speaker 1>of makes you think about it from a new perspective. <v Speaker 2>Right yeah, And also trying to replicate what I've seen <v Speaker 2>in Zelda games, like oh, when I beat a boss, <v Speaker 2>I want a heart piece to appear in a room. <v Speaker 2>How do I do that? And then they're like, oh, okay, <v Speaker 2>this is how you did it. Or I want the <v Speaker 2>little teleporter that warps you back to the beginning. I <v Speaker 2>want to place that there and place it at the entrance. <v Speaker 2>And there's so many things to play with, and it <v Speaker 2>seems like there's a lot more you can unlock from <v Speaker 2>what you get in the beginning, because I've played a <v Speaker 2>couple of the user creator levels, which you're at least <v Speaker 2>the top rated ones are infinitely better than the garbage <v Speaker 2>I made, But they have a lot more stuff to <v Speaker 2>play with than I currently have available from. Like there's <v Speaker 2>different themes you can have, so you can even from <v Speaker 2>like a broader sense, you can change the theme of <v Speaker 2>a dungeon, so like I have like a grassy one, <v Speaker 2>and the only other one I have unlocked is like <v Speaker 2>a kind of a fiery themed one and it changes <v Speaker 2>the music and everything too. But there was a couple <v Speaker 2>of ones I saw it was like, oh, this is <v Speaker 2>like a castle. I don't have that one, okay, And <v Speaker 2>then other just sort of like kind of like classic <v Speaker 2>Zelda mechanics. I haven't seen anything that I haven't seen <v Speaker 2>in a Zelda game necessarily. It just seems to be <v Speaker 2>like their versions of like oh, conveyor belts or you <v Speaker 2>know what are the weird the pulling the chain lever <v Speaker 2>thing or the one level I played, they had a <v Speaker 2>pretty elaborate like the light the the floor tiles that <v Speaker 2>light up like you have to fill you have to <v Speaker 2>light up all the tiles without stepping on the same <v Speaker 2>one over and over again. So like somebody made like <v Speaker 2>a pretty elaborate version of that. And and like some <v Speaker 2>bosses that I haven't seen. You only have two bosses <v Speaker 2>that you can place in a room at the start. <v Speaker 2>But it seems cool so far, Like I'm gonna mess <v Speaker 2>around with it some more. Like I said, there was <v Speaker 2>some bugs stuff, like I've had mechanics break on me <v Speaker 2>that we're working fine before, Like I had one instance <v Speaker 2>where I had a boss key because in this game, <v Speaker 2>and I don't even remember if you had to do <v Speaker 2>this in Link to the Past. Maybe it's been too <v Speaker 2>long as I played it, but you have to carry <v Speaker 2>a boss key all the way to the boss door, <v Speaker 2>Like it doesn't just go on your inventor. You have <v Speaker 2>to physically pick it up and walk it to the door, <v Speaker 2>Which I was like, has that ever been a thing? <v Speaker 2>Has it just been that long since I played like <v Speaker 2>Linked the Best, like a Minish Cap thing. <v Speaker 1>I don't think so I played Minish Cap like in <v Speaker 1>the last year or two. I don't remember that. <v Speaker 3>Maybe it sounds vaguely familiar. It's probably does. Yeah, it <v Speaker 3>does sound familiar. <v Speaker 2>Okay, I was wondering if I was just like this. <v Speaker 2>It makes it harder because you have to when you <v Speaker 2>fight something, you have to put the key down, kill it, <v Speaker 2>and then pick it back up. And you only have again, <v Speaker 2>at least from what I have, you can only have <v Speaker 2>one like item equipped at a time, or not even equipped, <v Speaker 2>you just carry it. So like if I have bombs, <v Speaker 2>I can't even have the boomerang and my inventory, like <v Speaker 2>it just switches out that slot and then you have <v Speaker 2>to go. <v Speaker 1>That's got to be just a just an idea to like, <v Speaker 1>let we got to simplify, right, We can't let everyone <v Speaker 1>have access to every idea in every room or else. <v Speaker 1>Your head's gonna explode, right, Like, we gotta limit you <v Speaker 1>in some way, maybe just to just to get you <v Speaker 1>get in the hang of how we could do this. <v Speaker 2>Maybe maybe or and maybe it's an maybe it's something <v Speaker 2>that does expand as you played more of the game <v Speaker 2>and they give you more things to play with. Or <v Speaker 2>maybe it's just an early access thing, you know, like <v Speaker 2>they'll they'll expand upon it over time and it's hard <v Speaker 2>to tell, but it was it was interesting seeing those <v Speaker 2>limits of like, Okay, I don't remember like linked at <v Speaker 2>a passing mislimiting, but okay, but there were times where <v Speaker 2>like like there was a time where the boss key <v Speaker 2>wouldn't let me carry it. Like I picked it up <v Speaker 2>and it was like just floating in the air, so <v Speaker 2>I could only throw it and not carry its. I <v Speaker 2>was just picking up and throwing it across the room. <v Speaker 2>But then I just said screw it and then just <v Speaker 2>spawned the boss key in front of the boss door <v Speaker 2>because I just wanted to fight the boss that I <v Speaker 2>put down. But it's it's fun, Kyle. I really want <v Speaker 2>you to play this because I would love to do <v Speaker 2>a thing where we each create, like we each really <v Speaker 2>try to create a good level and make each other <v Speaker 2>play it and see if we can get three just <v Speaker 2>as two Zelda fans trying to see who can make <v Speaker 2>a better dungeon. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, that'd be fun. <v Speaker 1>I did want to shout out just as we're talking <v Speaker 1>about it. Last year, I never got a chance to <v Speaker 1>try it, but there was a game called Super Dungeon Maker, <v Speaker 1>which is very similar. It was it was a dungeon <v Speaker 1>creator inspired by Zelda, and it came out on Switch <v Speaker 1>and you know, like looking on Steam, it it's it's <v Speaker 1>you know, it's positive it's got like positive user reviews <v Speaker 1>and stuff like that. So like, if you're interested in <v Speaker 1>this as a genre, that's another one to check out. <v Speaker 1>Super Dungeon Maker. <v Speaker 2>Okay, yeah, I don't think I've heard of that one <v Speaker 2>some want to look at. Is it still like sixteen <v Speaker 2>Big Graphics too or. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, yeah, okay, I think it was one. It was <v Speaker 1>one of those games that we all run into where <v Speaker 1>I think I got a code in like early November <v Speaker 1>or something, and I was like, I was like, I'm sorry, <v Speaker 1>but I have a million things I kind of have <v Speaker 1>to play first, you know, it's just outs in that <v Speaker 1>time of year for us. <v Speaker 2>Yeah. I will also say the thing I've enjoyed the <v Speaker 2>most and maybe the most interesting about playing other people's <v Speaker 2>levels is that when you play enough Zelda games, and <v Speaker 2>we've talked about this in our majorits mass Super Replay <v Speaker 2>cow where you can get through a lot of those <v Speaker 2>dungeons because if you keep a lot of the sort <v Speaker 2>of like tenants in mind of how Nintendo designed Zelda games, <v Speaker 2>like you've always said, like, you know, if you're overthinking <v Speaker 2>then it's probably wrong. But when you're playing other people's levels, <v Speaker 2>that goes out the door. He's like, I don't know <v Speaker 2>what this person had in mine, right, maybe it is <v Speaker 2>is this stupid I overthink this, you know, yeah, like <v Speaker 2>maybe they just have like weirder sensibility. So I've been <v Speaker 2>running into things where it's like I can't assume I <v Speaker 2>have to almost turn off my Nintendo brain unless they're <v Speaker 2>trying to replicate that logic. But there's been plenty of <v Speaker 2>instances where it's like, oh no, this is you just <v Speaker 2>had a weird idea here, and either it's fun or <v Speaker 2>it's like bad, but you kind of respect the weirdness <v Speaker 2>of it, you know. <v Speaker 1>This dungeon, I feel like the designer was just doing <v Speaker 1>stuff that they thought were funny. <v Speaker 2>I just walked into a room and then just a <v Speaker 2>bunch of fireballs. <v Speaker 5>Just just. <v Speaker 1>I didn't even know that was a mechanic. <v Speaker 2>Okay, the door locked behind me and there's no way <v Speaker 2>out which you could do I. <v Speaker 3>Think, like just billing floor tiles and it just said balls. <v Speaker 2>I've been thought about that. Charles meant to try it <v Speaker 2>next time I get in there. <v Speaker 3>I did, By the way, look it up. Carrying boss <v Speaker 3>keys is like a DS Zelda era things like Phantom House. <v Speaker 1>It's funny because I played Phantom Araglass in the last <v Speaker 1>month because we did it on replay when Marcus is <v Speaker 1>out of town. <v Speaker 2>Reso. <v Speaker 1>Okay, but I don't think I played. I didn't get <v Speaker 1>to any dungeons. We just played like an hour near <v Speaker 1>the beginning. So yeah, I'd forgotten about that. <v Speaker 2>It's been a while, but yeah, that is a Questmaster. <v Speaker 2>Like I said, it's out on Steam right now in <v Speaker 2>early access. No idea how long it's going to be there, <v Speaker 2>but it seems cool. If you're a Zelda fan and <v Speaker 2>or like if you're like a Mario maker person and <v Speaker 2>you happen to like Zeld, I think this is really <v Speaker 2>going to be up your ally. So excited to see <v Speaker 2>how that comes together over time. Charles, you have been <v Speaker 2>air dropping into Fortnite lately with its new season. I'm <v Speaker 2>not going to attempt to name the season because they <v Speaker 2>all sound like Bible chapters and I don't know the <v Speaker 2>logic behind them. <v Speaker 1>Of five verse three. <v Speaker 3>Oh, okay, that's what you're saying. I thought you meant, <v Speaker 3>just like the title, the title of this season is Wrecked, <v Speaker 3>and I was like, that is decidedly not a Bible. <v Speaker 1>I thought it was a book of me. <v Speaker 2>So that was the one and ones I was taken out. <v Speaker 3>Yeah it was. It's uh, Chapter five season three, I <v Speaker 3>believe as well. We're okay, okay, would. <v Speaker 2>You bet money on that? <v Speaker 1>Yeah? A lot? So wait wait you said Chapter five <v Speaker 1>season three. Yeah, so Fortnite five three is like how <v Speaker 1>we could refer to it and three three? <v Speaker 3>Yeah, it's it's Uh. I don't need to talk about <v Speaker 3>super long because if you're playing Fortnite, you already know <v Speaker 3>about it. But uh, it's cool. <v Speaker 1>Why would I feel about it, Charles? If it's a <v Speaker 1>good you know? <v Speaker 3>So the thing that the main thing this season does <v Speaker 3>is it brings like cars back into the uh limelight, <v Speaker 3>I guess. So, so what's. <v Speaker 2>General not the franchise cars? <v Speaker 3>Correct? <v Speaker 1>I mean fortnite you don't know is Lightning McQueen and <v Speaker 1>his game. I did see a meme that was like, <v Speaker 1>this is what Fortnite feels like now, and it was <v Speaker 1>someone just like poorly animating a bunch of what's his name, <v Speaker 1>Lightning Lightning McQueen. Yeah, like Lightning Queen's going back and <v Speaker 1>forth across the and they were just like spaming and <v Speaker 1>they're like that's what Fortnite is now, And I'm like, all. <v Speaker 3>Right, one of my favorite Lightning Queen video game memes <v Speaker 3>because there's so many we all love the ball is <v Speaker 3>one of him wearing the like generic helmet from Skyroom <v Speaker 3>and saying cuchow and it's like a breath like. <v Speaker 2>From the anyway, that's got to be an actual mod <v Speaker 2>at this time. <v Speaker 3>I hope. So the thing in this game it brings <v Speaker 3>cars back in the limelight. So when I started playing, <v Speaker 3>which was chapter three, I think chapter three, season three, <v Speaker 3>you could with any car you could pick up like <v Speaker 3>reinforce tires and you could put a cowcatcher on there, <v Speaker 3>which would like helps you ram stuff. And so it <v Speaker 3>was like a pretty regular part of my like Fortnite <v Speaker 3>routine of like me and whoever I was playing with, <v Speaker 3>the first thing we'd do is find a car and <v Speaker 3>then we get tires in the cow catcher, and that <v Speaker 3>would just be like a big source of armor and <v Speaker 3>like it's just a good way to enter a firefight <v Speaker 3>or get out of one quickly. It was just always <v Speaker 3>the first thing I did. And then when the new <v Speaker 3>chapter started, so like at the end of the year <v Speaker 3>chapter four started, they took out the tires and cow catchers, <v Speaker 3>so there's still cars in the game. It might not <v Speaker 3>have been immediately the chapter, but they have since taken <v Speaker 3>out wheels and cow catchers, so cars to me have <v Speaker 3>been a lot less important, especially because the wheels let <v Speaker 3>you go off road, and so much of the game <v Speaker 3>is off roads. If you get a cool car and <v Speaker 3>you have the off road tires, you can basically go <v Speaker 3>wherever you want. So it's just been a while if <v Speaker 3>that wasn't the case. And now they've brought those back <v Speaker 3>in like new forms, and then they've also added like <v Speaker 3>turrets to go on top of cars, and it's not <v Speaker 3>a Mad Max crossover, but it's like it's like a <v Speaker 3>Mad Max crossover. It has all those same fee as it. <v Speaker 3>And I would be shocked if, like I'm surprised there <v Speaker 3>isn't already like a Furiosa skin in the shop. They Max, No, No, <v Speaker 3>I mean. <v Speaker 1>That's a Tom Hardy license now, and even he's I <v Speaker 1>don't think he's coming back, you know as as Mad <v Speaker 1>Max ever, really, and no one wants to touch Mel <v Speaker 1>Gibson with anything, like if Mad Max isn't Fortnite, it's <v Speaker 1>just like generic leather jacket guy, it's like what it <v Speaker 1>would be at this point. <v Speaker 3>And they, I mean they do, like they have Marvel <v Speaker 3>characters and the other other characters that appear in movies <v Speaker 3>and other things where they're not like specifically the actors they. <v Speaker 1>I mean, but Mad Max is a cinematic character, right, <v Speaker 1>like this his you know, he's not like a guy <v Speaker 1>that exists in comics and novels and animated shows. It's like, <v Speaker 1>you know, he was invented for the movies. <v Speaker 3>But yeah, there's any. <v Speaker 2>Video game Mad Max that's just a dude kind of like. <v Speaker 1>Eric leather Jack, you know, take that model. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, but so the cars. The other nice thing about <v Speaker 3>it is you used to have to like go you'd <v Speaker 3>see the car power up, you'd walk over to it, <v Speaker 3>you'd swap out whatever is in your inventory for the thing, <v Speaker 3>and then you chuck it at the car and then <v Speaker 3>it gets the power up. Now there's like crates on <v Speaker 3>the ground. You can just drive your car through them <v Speaker 3>and then they like immediately get the upgrade. So it's <v Speaker 3>a lot more seamless, like made with cars in mind. <v Speaker 3>And yeah, it just rocks. And I played one game <v Speaker 3>of it so far and I drove around a car <v Speaker 3>and I crashed into other cars. And you can put <v Speaker 3>turrets on the back and you can switch your seats. <v Speaker 3>So I was driving around, I hit a car. Guy <v Speaker 3>gets out of the car, and I was like, I'm <v Speaker 3>gonna switch up to the turret and shoot this guy. <v Speaker 3>So now was shooting him. But then he ran and <v Speaker 3>got in the driver's seat of my car while I <v Speaker 3>was stuck in the turret, and then just drove the <v Speaker 3>car away with me still in it. And then he <v Speaker 3>ended up killing me. He really truly out me. But <v Speaker 3>if it was still cool, it's still fun. <v Speaker 1>That's that's some real like Halo strategies right there, you know. Yeah, <v Speaker 1>that's good. <v Speaker 2>Oh no, continue. <v Speaker 3>I was gonna say, there's also a Fallout crossover in <v Speaker 3>this Battle Past, which I don't have, but they added, <v Speaker 3>uh oh here, I'll be right back. <v Speaker 1>You guys keep talking about Fallout. This is this is <v Speaker 1>this is the spot, Marcus. <v Speaker 3>I'll try to time it. I'll try to time it properly. <v Speaker 3>So one of the things is in in the battle <v Speaker 3>pass there's power armor, which is very cool. I was <v Speaker 3>kind of disappointed because I would have liked for power <v Speaker 3>armor to be like a weapon or like suit in game, <v Speaker 3>because they do that. <v Speaker 1>Like it's like functional in some way. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, it's not like there's just a dude named power Armor. <v Speaker 2>In Fortnite, John Power Armor. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, John Power But yeah, you can get that. And <v Speaker 3>I think there's two colors, as there often is with that, <v Speaker 3>so that's cool. And then also in the game, they've <v Speaker 3>added a new type of like potion. I guess it exists. <v Speaker 1>A potion. <v Speaker 3>It's like healing item. I'm kind of vamping. I'm just <v Speaker 3>trying to see if Kyle will maybe pop in just <v Speaker 3>like the perfect time. But who knows when he'll pop in, <v Speaker 3>And maybe it'll be now, and maybe. <v Speaker 2>It'll be be putting on his power Armour. <v Speaker 3>I'm depending on his power armor, how much speed he's got. Oh, <v Speaker 3>there are also like super fists. They're like mechanical fists. <v Speaker 3>I don't know if they're supposed to be like related <v Speaker 3>to the power armor. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, I was gonna say, I think of like is <v Speaker 1>that a fallout thing that I've forgotten? <v Speaker 3>But you can like uppercut as like a movement option, <v Speaker 3>and you can do these like fist punches in the <v Speaker 3>air to like propel you in certain directions. I think <v Speaker 3>that's unrelated fallout. But there's also now you can get <v Speaker 3>Nuka Cola in the game. <v Speaker 1>Whoa look that was perfect, Charle, What I have Nuka <v Speaker 1>cola from Jones Soda, which I don't know if I've <v Speaker 1>ever had a Jones soda, but they they sent us <v Speaker 1>some and I said I would try it on the podcast. <v Speaker 1>That's what They're like, can we send you some? And <v Speaker 1>I was like, I'm probably not gonna write a review <v Speaker 1>of Fallout Soda, but I'll try some. So I wanted <v Speaker 1>to try some on the podcast. So that's that was <v Speaker 1>Did you plan that, Charles? Did you even know what <v Speaker 1>I was getting? Yeah? <v Speaker 3>I mean I assumed. I assumed you had a It <v Speaker 3>made sense. <v Speaker 2>You just thought you looked like a Fallout Soda guy. <v Speaker 1>I went through all the trouble of getting like a <v Speaker 1>can opener or whatever, you know, like a bottle opener. <v Speaker 1>But it definitely says twist off there. <v Speaker 3>So that's where it's like, that feels like a Fallout <v Speaker 3>story of like a guy that travels twelve years to <v Speaker 3>find a can opener to open his perfect bottle of <v Speaker 3>nukacola and then it was twist off the whole time. <v Speaker 1>Are you guys Fallout got people? Yes? Okay, it's supposed <v Speaker 1>to be blue, ye, like it should be blue? Right? <v Speaker 2>Well, what flavor is it Is it just Nuka cola <v Speaker 2>flavor or is it a different. <v Speaker 1>Jones special release, which you know that's not cannon, so <v Speaker 1>we can just ignore that. But then it's Nuka Victory <v Speaker 1>Cola peach mango flavored soda. But I mean, I feel <v Speaker 1>like I just I don't know. I think of Nuka <v Speaker 1>is being blue. <v Speaker 3>But there are on the fall At wiki, there's other <v Speaker 3>flavors of CoA cola. Oh there is, so there is. <v Speaker 3>There is orange Nuka cola for. <v Speaker 2>Audio le mango. <v Speaker 3>I'm on, I'm on the Fallout wiki. Control f peach, <v Speaker 3>not seeing anything, all right. <v Speaker 1>It's tasty. It's peach mango soda. They know what they're <v Speaker 1>doing over there, Jones. It's good solid. Yeah. <v Speaker 3>Do you feel like you are recovering some health and <v Speaker 3>then maybe some shields over time? <v Speaker 2>I do? <v Speaker 1>Actually, yeah, we got a whole Yeah nice, we should <v Speaker 1>hold up. Oh there's a QR code in the cap. <v Speaker 1>But yeah, I don't drink a lot of so these days. <v Speaker 1>But yeah, this is good. It's fun. Hey, it's Fallout stuff. <v Speaker 1>You know, everyone loves Fallout now the TV shows Hot. <v Speaker 2>The color reminds me of the the Buffalo Wings soda <v Speaker 2>I drank on I think it was the Secro Super replay. <v Speaker 2>When we're doing the Hot Wings Challenge. I had one <v Speaker 2>week where I four I four went the Wings and <v Speaker 2>just said I'll drink some nasty Buffalo wing soda instead. <v Speaker 2>Was it bad? It sounds bad. It wasn't as bad <v Speaker 2>as you would think, but it wasn't something I would <v Speaker 2>like drinking my free. <v Speaker 3>Time, right, So I did look it up. Nuka Cola <v Speaker 3>Victory is what that bottle was, Kyle. That is a <v Speaker 3>specific Fallout thing that is orange. Oh cool, Well that's fine. <v Speaker 1>So they did get the right color, but just not <v Speaker 1>not a flavor from that. I mean, they just tried <v Speaker 1>to make a good flavor. I guess they know they <v Speaker 1>don't want to make a pockule of slavored soda. Hey, <v Speaker 1>it's a cannon now and the QR code you scan it, it <v Speaker 1>takes you to Amazon to watch the show. So yeah, <v Speaker 1>like a free month of Prime to watch it or <v Speaker 1>it seems like that'd be useful. <v Speaker 2>But that's fun. <v Speaker 1>That's a cool thing. Fallout soda. <v Speaker 3>There you go, just like in Fortnite available. <v Speaker 2>Now also a skin. I don't know, I guess is <v Speaker 2>it is it all? Is that the extent of the <v Speaker 2>Fortnite or a Fortnite, the fallout stuff in Fortnite. <v Speaker 3>As far as I know, it's just it's just the <v Speaker 3>power Armor skin and the Nuka Cola. <v Speaker 2>Man, it seems weird, and I guess maybe they couldn't <v Speaker 2>have known how successful the show would be, but like <v Speaker 2>I would imagine this has been in the works, like <v Speaker 2>before the show came out, So it's almost weird that <v Speaker 2>there wasn't like Ella Pernell's character as like a scanner <v Speaker 2>or something, or like the yeah. <v Speaker 3>When it's when it's like battle passed, this is about <v Speaker 3>the extent of it. There's usually like you'll get the <v Speaker 3>main battle passed and then like a special like featured <v Speaker 3>skin that's also like a tie in and that have <v Speaker 3>like their own separate quest that unlocks like halfway through. <v Speaker 3>I believe this season that's Magneto. Magneto's in Fortnite now, <v Speaker 3>and that'll. <v Speaker 2>Be cool so he can just instantly win, right because <v Speaker 2>all the guns are made of the metal, that he <v Speaker 2>could just take those away from people. <v Speaker 3>I think there is like a magnet I saw in <v Speaker 3>the trailer. He had some kind of like magnetic ability, <v Speaker 3>and he does have a taunt where he like takes <v Speaker 3>a gun apart into all its pieces. <v Speaker 1>Does Magneto canonically like is he quick enough to like <v Speaker 1>control bullets? Right? <v Speaker 2>Yeah? <v Speaker 1>He has his bullets fire at him a lot of times. <v Speaker 2>Okay, Okay, can he can? Can he hold a player <v Speaker 2>up and kill them by sucking the iron out of <v Speaker 2>their blood? <v Speaker 3>I haven't played as him yet, so I don't want <v Speaker 3>to make any promises, but probably. <v Speaker 1>Yes, can Charles? Let me ask you another question, since <v Speaker 1>you haven't played with him yet, but can you make <v Speaker 1>him move a chest piece? Just a little tiny bit, <v Speaker 1>just like the tiniest little. <v Speaker 2>Bit, and then people get really excited. <v Speaker 3>I do think what he can do is if you <v Speaker 3>can if you can get someone in a chair and <v Speaker 3>tie them up, which is not a thing in Fortnite, <v Speaker 3>but if you do it, I think he can move <v Speaker 3>a quarter but just like really. <v Speaker 1>Slowly through their skull. <v Speaker 3>I mean yeah, I mean if you aim at there, <v Speaker 3>but just like really slowly. <v Speaker 1>Right, gotcha? <v Speaker 2>Right? Is this just comic book Magneto then't Ian mckillan <v Speaker 2>or Michael Fastbender Magneto. <v Speaker 3>I'm pretty sure it's just for Magneto. Just so much, <v Speaker 3>so much googling on this show today. <v Speaker 2>This is journalism. <v Speaker 3>This is journalism. Yeah, just just pretty standard comic book <v Speaker 3>Magneto cool. <v Speaker 1>No, that's good. That's what it should be in Fortnite. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, the equivalent of this would be, uh, there's a <v Speaker 3>season where Gerald from The Witcher, he was like the <v Speaker 3>Magneto equivalent, so he had some like specific quests you <v Speaker 3>could do to unlock him. And then doom guy was <v Speaker 3>in the battle pass. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, Charles, I'm sorry. Did you did you call him Gerald? <v Speaker 3>Is it Gerald? <v Speaker 2>Yeah? <v Speaker 1>Garyl I don't see. <v Speaker 3>I don't hear it set out loud very often. <v Speaker 1>No, Gerald is Arnold's friend from Hey Arnold after him? <v Speaker 2>Okay, that's a different. <v Speaker 1>Guy, Gerald. Who's the actor. I'm sorry, this joke is <v Speaker 1>the Helmsworth who's playing him now? <v Speaker 2>Liam? <v Speaker 1>Liam Hemsworth plays Jared's Henry Cavill played Gerald. <v Speaker 3>That's really good. <v Speaker 2>About himself. <v Speaker 3>I default to soft geez like I I never don't <v Speaker 3>read it as Jeff. I know a lot of people <v Speaker 3>prefer GIF, but I I am always like it feels <v Speaker 3>like I'm translating into another language when I say Giff. <v Speaker 2>Well, Jeff is technically the correct one, right, we just <v Speaker 2>all choose to ignore it. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, but I mean I don't want to be the <v Speaker 1>guy and it's graphical right Like, but the creator says, Jeff, yeah, there's. <v Speaker 2>No right now. Jeff to me is that's peanut butter. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, sure, I don't mean peanut butter. So like, I'm <v Speaker 3>fine to replace that jiff with my personal jiff. Anyways, <v Speaker 3>we can talk about other video games. I completely derails <v Speaker 3>with Gerald. <v Speaker 2>It's okay. Some might say that show got derailed after <v Speaker 2>season three, so or right. <v Speaker 1>I never I think I made it one episode in <v Speaker 1>the season three and I was like, well, I'm done <v Speaker 1>no more. <v Speaker 2>For me, Happy trails, Andrew Gavel, go make. <v Speaker 1>Your Warhammer dream project or whatever. Oh he's got to <v Speaker 1>be he has to do that before he dies. Officially, <v Speaker 1>I think that's he's doing something some more. He's like <v Speaker 1>executive posting some Warhammer thing. Yeah, okay, cool, Good for him. <v Speaker 2>Good for him. Hopefully he doesn't get fired or screwed <v Speaker 2>over in some way. It seems to happen to him <v Speaker 2>a lot. I've been playing an older game, but I <v Speaker 2>got to it for the first time for a trip <v Speaker 2>to a secret event that I'll be able to talk <v Speaker 2>about in the coming days. But I played mar versus <v Speaker 2>Donkey Kong the remake the game that you review, Charles, <v Speaker 2>and like quite a bit. I was on a you know, <v Speaker 2>a long plane ride to LA had a good four <v Speaker 2>and a half hours to kill, and I'd forgotten that <v Speaker 2>I owned this game, honestly, and I was like, you <v Speaker 2>know what, this is a good time to I'm in <v Speaker 2>a mood for something like this. Someone has never played <v Speaker 2>this series at all, and then wound up just like <v Speaker 2>blowing through it in a way that I wasn't really <v Speaker 2>anticipating I would. And I think a lot of that <v Speaker 2>is like half of that is that a lot of <v Speaker 2>it's easier than I thought it would be. For like <v Speaker 2>two thirds of it, it's really not to like the <v Speaker 2>last couple of worlds that it started to become a <v Speaker 2>thing where I was like, on occasion having to resist <v Speaker 2>the urge to audibly curse on a crowded plane, like loudly. <v Speaker 1>Speaking of a game where you have to carry keys, right, <v Speaker 1>there's a lot of key carrying. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, yeah, yeah he doesn't. Sometimes he can throw the <v Speaker 2>keys too. But then the keys are like, weirdly, they're <v Speaker 2>really like attached to you, because the moment you leave <v Speaker 2>them alone, they're like you have twelve seconds to get <v Speaker 2>back to this ky and it warps back like they're <v Speaker 2>really clingy, these keys. But yeah, I enjoyed it. It's <v Speaker 2>a fun little puzzle game. And it's like, I don't know, <v Speaker 2>I have anything profound other than add to that it's fun. <v Speaker 2>It gets it's weird because it goes from like pretty <v Speaker 2>breezy and fun to suddenly being like really frustrating towards <v Speaker 2>the end because of the like having to fail and <v Speaker 2>redo sometimes a very tricky sequence of events again, and <v Speaker 2>then when the thing that killed you was something either <v Speaker 2>you hadn't figured out yet or a lot of times <v Speaker 2>I got screwed over because the platforming is more like stiff, <v Speaker 2>and not in a bad way, just in a way <v Speaker 2>that it needs to be for this style of game <v Speaker 2>than a traditional Mario game. But my brain was like <v Speaker 2>for a long time stuck on traditional Mario platforming physics. <v Speaker 2>So I would be trying to run and jump and <v Speaker 2>do all these things like oh, I could hop around <v Speaker 2>to stage with ease, and it's like, no, that's not <v Speaker 2>what this game is. So I would throw myself. I <v Speaker 2>would pretty much play myself a lot, and I was like, oh, <v Speaker 2>I took this jump in a way that I really <v Speaker 2>should not have and now I fall into a spike pit, <v Speaker 2>and the last like thirty seconds of assembling things a <v Speaker 2>certain way to get to where I need to be <v Speaker 2>have been undone, and now I got to do it <v Speaker 2>all again. And then it's becomes that like it's I <v Speaker 2>guess it starts to getting a little tedium territory, like, well, <v Speaker 2>I know what to do here, I just have to <v Speaker 2>do it all again and then get past the one <v Speaker 2>thing that I am stuck on and then I'm good. <v Speaker 2>And then a lot of time and you're also on <v Speaker 2>a time limit too, so it's just like it gets <v Speaker 2>it gets pretty pretty intense there towards the end, in <v Speaker 2>the way that I was like not expecting. <v Speaker 3>Did you do the plus worlds or just the first. <v Speaker 2>World I've not done the Plus Wars. I one hundred <v Speaker 2>percent of all of the regular worlds. I would not <v Speaker 2>leave the the Boss fights against Donkey Kong unless I <v Speaker 2>was like doing it, because you can only one hundred <v Speaker 2>percent of them if you take zero damage. <v Speaker 3>Yes, that sucks. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, And there were some. The worst one was the <v Speaker 2>the ice one where you're slipping. You're like slipping around <v Speaker 2>because like and Ice Worlds in general kind of annoying <v Speaker 2>me a lot of time because it feels like you're <v Speaker 2>out of I mean intentionally you're out of control, but <v Speaker 2>it's kind of like it can very easily veer into <v Speaker 2>like this is just not fun, you know, And the <v Speaker 2>Donkey Young fight kind of veered into that. And again, <v Speaker 2>if I wasn't so obsessed but like, I need to <v Speaker 2>beat him without taking damage, I could have beaten him <v Speaker 2>like within the first run, but I was like, no, <v Speaker 2>I have to not get hit because I've one hundred <v Speaker 2>percent everything else. I have to keep the streak alive. <v Speaker 2>So I was there for probably like thirty minutes trying <v Speaker 2>to beat him without taking it and wanting to scream. <v Speaker 2>At multiple points. It was an old lady next to <v Speaker 2>me that occasionally would glance over and be like, what's this, Oh, <v Speaker 2>what's that? What's the Donkey Kong game he's playing? Is <v Speaker 2>that the game I grew up with? I'm just speaking <v Speaker 2>for this woman. <v Speaker 1>Kids say this, no, no, no, no, but in her eyes <v Speaker 1>she's probably be like, that looks like the game I <v Speaker 1>played in nineteen eighty three or whenever Donkey Kong came out. <v Speaker 2>I think it was eighty five actually, but actually I know, <v Speaker 2>I think it was eighty three. <v Speaker 1>No, Doc y Kong, it's probably like eighty probably eighty one. <v Speaker 2>Mario Brothers was Supermarke, but it was eighty five. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, and Doc or Kong was a couple. <v Speaker 2>Of years before that, right, right, video game Crash here. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, save Crash I did brought us back into the lightness, <v Speaker 1>back into the the lightness. <v Speaker 2>I don't know what I'm saying, but yeah, I have <v Speaker 2>not played the Plus Worlds. I don't know if I will. <v Speaker 2>I'm kind of like burned app, but I've had my <v Speaker 2>fill of it. After I wrapped it up, I was like, yeah, iking, <v Speaker 2>I'm done here. <v Speaker 3>If you were, I was. I was asking because the <v Speaker 3>Plus Worlds I found particularly frustrating, where like the First Worlds, <v Speaker 3>I was like, Okay, this is kind of like a <v Speaker 3>slow increase in difficulty, but I'm still having fun. And <v Speaker 3>you get to that and it's like, oh, that was <v Speaker 3>kind of hard, and then the Plus Worlds are just <v Speaker 3>like all that I I turned on. There's like a <v Speaker 3>casual mode in the game where when you die, you <v Speaker 3>just kind of bubble back to the last place you <v Speaker 3>had your feet on the ground or there's like a <v Speaker 3>checkpoint flags. I just did that for all the plus <v Speaker 3>worlds because it's like, I know I could beat these <v Speaker 3>if I spent long enough on them, but I'm not <v Speaker 3>trying to prove anything to anyone, and I just kind <v Speaker 3>of want to get through them, so I might as <v Speaker 3>well turn on the easiest mode. <v Speaker 1>But yeah, that's an option. Yeah, yeah, that's a good point. <v Speaker 1>Was that a twenty twenty three game or was that <v Speaker 1>that was this year? <v Speaker 2>That was like February. <v Speaker 3>January February, Yeah, yeah, yeah. <v Speaker 1>Do you think that'll be like on your at the <v Speaker 1>end of the year, you'll look back on it, both <v Speaker 1>of you guys, like as like one of your faves <v Speaker 1>or just like a just a nice little puzzle game <v Speaker 1>that was sort of Cotton Candy, probably Cotton Candy. <v Speaker 3>Yeah. <v Speaker 2>Maybe if we have like a best remake see the <v Speaker 2>best remake Slash remaster discussion, it will come up, but <v Speaker 2>only because there and Rebirth. <v Speaker 1>Will just like lift its hand up. I was gonna say, amazingly, <v Speaker 1>Stabs Donkey called in the chest like like the Smash Brothers. <v Speaker 3>I do wish that they, like Nintendo would come up <v Speaker 3>with some better like naming convention for like this and <v Speaker 3>thousand Year Door. Other than it just being like, well, <v Speaker 3>it's the one on switch, so you know it's the <v Speaker 3>new one. It's not called like My Versus Donkey Kong <v Speaker 3>remake or like you just know the year it comes <v Speaker 3>out in, so you're that's it. But like, yeah, I. <v Speaker 1>Wonder what there reasons for that is, because you know, <v Speaker 1>because it's like like thousand Your Door. I didn't think <v Speaker 1>of that either. That they just called it Paper Mario <v Speaker 1>thousand Your Door. And it's like if you ask them, <v Speaker 1>they're like, yeah, I mean there's one game that exists <v Speaker 1>and we put it on a new platform. Like do <v Speaker 1>they feel that way about Mario Versus Donkey Kong? I <v Speaker 1>don't know. <v Speaker 2>It just thown me too that they both came out <v Speaker 2>the same year and they're both two thousand and four games, <v Speaker 2>so both of them twenty years later got remake slash remasters. <v Speaker 3>There's also a Super Mario RPG, which I guess is <v Speaker 3>different Seven Stars. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, yeah, that at least has a different name technically, <v Speaker 1>which it was kind of like it's just the name <v Speaker 1>that everyone called it. You know, no one said ever <v Speaker 1>said Super Mario RPG Legend of the Seven Stars. <v Speaker 2>Only real one. <v Speaker 1>You're right, I'm sorry. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, yeah, it's fine. And it's like it's fine that <v Speaker 2>it's fine. <v Speaker 1>Basically, it's like. <v Speaker 2>I had my fun with it. It was cool to <v Speaker 2>be like, oh, I know what these are now after <v Speaker 2>that was a one of my biggest gaps in like <v Speaker 2>Nintendo franchises with that series. So it's like, okay, yeah, <v Speaker 2>I get it now. And it got me like mildly cure. <v Speaker 2>So like, no, maybe I'll look up one of the <v Speaker 2>like the WIU one or the three Yes ones. I <v Speaker 2>wonder if I would like those or not, Like does <v Speaker 2>it get better from here? I don't know, but yeah, <v Speaker 2>I have my fun with it. It was a good, good <v Speaker 2>little playing game. Uh, Kyle, speaking of playing old games, Uh, <v Speaker 2>you've been playing Mad Max, the hottest game of twenty fifteen, right, <v Speaker 2>I think that's what it was about, right, the Avalanche <v Speaker 2>Mad Max Open World game. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, I'm using I would type it in, but I'm <v Speaker 1>using a different mic and it picks up my keyboard <v Speaker 1>a little bit too much. Can yet it was quick. <v Speaker 1>That's I do I forget. I mean, certainly I'm not <v Speaker 1>alone like it. It's probably I bet if you look <v Speaker 1>at the Steam stats, I bet there's a bunch of <v Speaker 1>people picking up Mad Max right now, you know, twenty fifteen, <v Speaker 1>I was right, September first is perfect. Yeah, that was <v Speaker 1>a game. It came out and I still had a <v Speaker 1>copy right like, I had a copy on Xbox, and <v Speaker 1>it was nice because I booted it up and it <v Speaker 1>actually had pulled my save from the cloud from like <v Speaker 1>twenty fifteen, so I didn't have to go through like <v Speaker 1>the tutorial. That was like the choice. It is like <v Speaker 1>do I play the tutorial and refamiliarize myself or do <v Speaker 1>I just jump in at what was ultimately like two <v Speaker 1>hours in and bypassed a lot of tutorial but be <v Speaker 1>a little lost. And it worked out like I actually <v Speaker 1>I got my I got my handle on it pretty quickly, <v Speaker 1>and I had got I hadn't even gotten far enough <v Speaker 1>to get all the tutorials like I was. I learned <v Speaker 1>how to like choose new abilities and stuff like that. <v Speaker 1>But I mean, I think it goes without saying that. <v Speaker 1>This is completely born of going to see furiosa Mad <v Speaker 1>Max saga, which was fantastic. It's so great. <v Speaker 2>You saw it, right, marcuz I did. I got to <v Speaker 2>see it at the Chinese Theater in Hollywood's cool. It's <v Speaker 2>the first time I've ever actually been inside of there. <v Speaker 2>So but that was like, that's not an imax though, <v Speaker 2>right it is? Oh it is oh nice, Yeah. <v Speaker 1>That'll be for pay four dollars to get nothing. And Charles, <v Speaker 1>you just watched Fury Road for the first time. <v Speaker 3>I did. I had never seen it, and people talk <v Speaker 3>about it like it's the best movie ever, and I thought, <v Speaker 3>I thought it was Okay, it was good. <v Speaker 1>I will say it is a movie that I really <v Speaker 1>liked the first time I watched it, But every couple <v Speaker 1>of years I'll rewatch it, and every time I watch it, <v Speaker 1>I appreciate it, like more and more and more. Like <v Speaker 1>it's last time I watched it was like it is <v Speaker 1>a weird place to site, but it was like a <v Speaker 1>long flight and I was like, I don't really want <v Speaker 1>to play a game or like read a book or <v Speaker 1>anything yet. And I put that on and I was like, <v Speaker 1>this is it's like a bad setting to like watch <v Speaker 1>it on a little behind the you know, headset movie, <v Speaker 1>but like it is so visual and entrancing that it <v Speaker 1>just pulled me in like so much. Yeah, and Furiosa <v Speaker 1>is different, Like Fury Road is very clean, of like <v Speaker 1>point A, point B, and there's gonna be a lot <v Speaker 1>of stuff that happens along the way, and Furiosa is like, <v Speaker 1>this is one character's lifespan, let's watch the whole thing. <v Speaker 1>And uh yeah, I just but yeah, and like the game, <v Speaker 1>it was nice to have that game to go to, <v Speaker 1>you know, of like this isn't like I'm not like <v Speaker 1>sucked in. I don't think I'm gonna put like fifty <v Speaker 1>hours into the Mad Max video game. I don't think <v Speaker 1>I've rediscovered some classic. But like watching that movie, it <v Speaker 1>was just like it just totally enveloped me of like <v Speaker 1>I want to explore more of this world. I want <v Speaker 1>to be in this world. And the cool thing is <v Speaker 1>is like even though the director, Georgian Miller, has kind <v Speaker 1>of he's like a I don't know. He recently had <v Speaker 1>a comment and he was like, oh, I'd love if <v Speaker 1>Fideo Kojima made a Mad Max game because they're like <v Speaker 1>best buds. Now, George Miller is in Death Stranding. <v Speaker 3>Did you know that chart that. <v Speaker 1>He's he's if you remember the most recent trailer for <v Speaker 1>Death Stranding two, it's like him and am I am <v Speaker 1>I just talking? <v Speaker 3>I don't think I've seen the trailer. <v Speaker 1>For Day Okay, so wait, he's in the se not <v Speaker 1>the first tame. Yeah, so there's they're like it's him <v Speaker 1>and quiet are like looking at a body on a table. <v Speaker 2>Oh that's him. <v Speaker 1>That's George Miller. Like he's not acting, he's not performing, <v Speaker 1>but they scanned him and put him in. You always <v Speaker 1>know George Miller because he wears glasses and he always <v Speaker 1>has like Grandpa like like glasses us holders. Yeah, like <v Speaker 1>he like he can take off his glasses and wear <v Speaker 1>him around his neck like that's like his If Chris <v Speaker 1>Nolan has a scarf, George Miller has glasses holders. <v Speaker 2>Like that's like the cold cher thing. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, but like you know, so like that, some people <v Speaker 1>saw that as like just sort of him being negative <v Speaker 1>about the twenty fifteen game, and he did say some <v Speaker 1>negative things. He was like, yeah, I didn't quite come <v Speaker 1>together the way we wanted. And then like Corey Barlog, <v Speaker 1>you know, the God of War twenty eighteen God of <v Speaker 1>War two director was working on a Mad Max game <v Speaker 1>for years and years that fell through, Like I would <v Speaker 1>love to know what happened there, like this it has <v Speaker 1>this weird history with video games, but they did get <v Speaker 1>one out in twenty fifteen, and it's like fun, it's <v Speaker 1>like a good excuse to drive around the Mad Max wasteland. <v Speaker 1>And like the main antagonists of the game, Scrotus I <v Speaker 1>think is his name is is in Furiosa. He's one <v Speaker 1>of the kids. He's one of uh I can't remember everybody. <v Speaker 1>He's the big one, right, No, he's the small the <v Speaker 1>small the kind of like snivelly guy. Yes. Yeah, so <v Speaker 1>he's the main antagonist of the game. And then and <v Speaker 1>then further on that the we're not gonna do Furiosa <v Speaker 1>spoilers if you haven't seen yet, but there is there's <v Speaker 1>a scene where a character presents Furiosa with a car <v Speaker 1>and like and then they like, you know, they pull <v Speaker 1>the curtain off the car. That character is supposedly Chum <v Speaker 1>Bucket from the Mad Max game, who is in the <v Speaker 1>car with you the whole game. He's like the one <v Speaker 1>fixing the car in the back seat and stuff like that. <v Speaker 1>It's like a cameo. And then you go to gas <v Speaker 1>Town in the game and stuff like that, and it <v Speaker 1>looks very similar like it's all treated as like is <v Speaker 1>all cannon right, which is like weird. I'm really going <v Speaker 1>off on a tangent here, and I apologize everybody, But like, right, <v Speaker 1>like there's the Game and there's Furiosa, and they're kind <v Speaker 1>of like interconnected lore. But then, like if you look <v Speaker 1>back at the history of these films, which I'm not <v Speaker 1>an expert, I haven't really I've passively watched the first three. <v Speaker 1>I love Fury Road, I love Furiosa. That's kind of <v Speaker 1>where I'm at. But like those movies play really fast <v Speaker 1>and loose with cannon characters will reactors will play different characters, <v Speaker 1>similar characters in different movies. Like there's a gyrocopter pilot <v Speaker 1>and the second and third movie that are supposed to <v Speaker 1>be two different characters played by the same actor, and <v Speaker 1>like and like Furiosa technically gets recast. You know, there's <v Speaker 1>a different Anya Taylor Jones looks different than Charlie's thearreon <v Speaker 1>Mel Gibson looks different than Tom Hardy, and like, it's <v Speaker 1>a series that like plays loose with like story and lore, <v Speaker 1>and it's a lot of legend and there's like rumors <v Speaker 1>that the character of Mad Max and Fury Wro is <v Speaker 1>actually the child from The Road Warrior, and there's a <v Speaker 1>lot of evidence that points to that. But George Miller <v Speaker 1>like dismisses it and says, no, that's not the case, <v Speaker 1>despite having all these little seeds everywhere that like he's <v Speaker 1>this kid adopted the sort of the title of Mad <v Speaker 1>Max for Fury Road is sort of the myth that <v Speaker 1>surrounds it, and it like made me think of Zelda <v Speaker 1>in a way, and that there's like these recurring games <v Speaker 1>that always connect, but it's all like strange and nothing's <v Speaker 1>really confirmed, and like in Breath of the Wild you <v Speaker 1>can see all these names of islands that connect to <v Speaker 1>old games, but sometimes they're like misspelled and weird because <v Speaker 1>it's just this world that has existed for so long <v Speaker 1>that everything is like slightly out of focus and weird. <v Speaker 1>And it's something that I've come to like really love <v Speaker 1>about Mad Max. Like again not spoiling the end, but Marcus, <v Speaker 1>like the end of Furiosa, there's at least one element <v Speaker 1>that's left very much like we're not really sure what <v Speaker 1>happened here in a way I really like, and that's <v Speaker 1>really cool and weird, and so like I think, I <v Speaker 1>think my love for like the lore of Zelda, which <v Speaker 1>is something players take a lot more seriously than Nintendo, Like, right, <v Speaker 1>they are working. They are working from the end to <v Speaker 1>the beginning. They're like, we want a game where Link <v Speaker 1>can do all these weird things, and we'll worry. We'll <v Speaker 1>connect that stuff with you know, strings and everything later. <v Speaker 1>We're more interested in like getting players to a position <v Speaker 1>where they can play this thing. And I think George <v Speaker 1>Miller approaches like Mad Max that way, where he's like, <v Speaker 1>I want to make a crazy car chase movie out <v Speaker 1>in the desert, and I will just pull the things <v Speaker 1>that I like that I've created for Mad Max to <v Speaker 1>put that in there. Max doesn't need to look like <v Speaker 1>the same person. I'm not worried about that. What I'm <v Speaker 1>worried about is how cool it looks that they're racing <v Speaker 1>through the desert, you know, which is the end of <v Speaker 1>my Mad Max high Rade. Go see Furiosa. I'm so <v Speaker 1>I'm so scared that the Borderlands movie is going to <v Speaker 1>make more money than Furiosa and it's not gonna be fair. <v Speaker 3>I feel like when you first said, like before we <v Speaker 3>started recording, that you had like an idea of mind <v Speaker 3>connecting Zelda and Mad Max, I was like, I have <v Speaker 3>no idea what you're talking about. When I'm excited to <v Speaker 3>hear it, and that was a lot more coherent than <v Speaker 3>I was, a lot more like, uh, it was more <v Speaker 3>about like broad stuff as opposed to like this guy <v Speaker 3>reminds me of Tingle. <v Speaker 1>Oh. Now, so there are a lot of characters in <v Speaker 1>Mad Max that remind me of Yeah, it kind of <v Speaker 1>like I guess to go almost like back around again, <v Speaker 1>like Link or Zelda is sort of the video game <v Speaker 1>version of James Bond of like it's always a different Yeah, <v Speaker 1>it's a different Bond, but it's the same Bond at <v Speaker 1>the same time. Yeah, but that yeah, that and. <v Speaker 2>The continuity gets weird too there. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, the Bond continuity is really weird. But like Mad <v Speaker 1>Max is weird to me too, because another thing about <v Speaker 1>Furiosa is like the opening scene they show Earth and <v Speaker 1>it like zooms in in Australia. So it's like, by <v Speaker 1>the way, if you've ever like been unsure about out where, <v Speaker 1>if this is on Earth and it's in Australia, like <v Speaker 1>we're making that abundantly clear in Furiosa, which is which <v Speaker 1>is really cool. Charles, you should go see that movie. <v Speaker 1>It's good. <v Speaker 2>I should have you seen the other Mad MAXs or <v Speaker 2>was Fury Road here first? <v Speaker 3>Feiary Road was my first, but I under I understood <v Speaker 3>it well if I watched it with my girlfriend, who <v Speaker 3>has a hard time processing stuff when she doesn't feel <v Speaker 3>like she has all the pieces. So I was like, <v Speaker 3>this game, this movie gives me all the essential world <v Speaker 3>building I need. And she was kind of like, why <v Speaker 3>are they doing this? Who is this guy? Why is <v Speaker 3>this happening this way in a way that I get, <v Speaker 3>like if you had seen the other ones, I'm sure <v Speaker 3>this was like kind of like a socer No. <v Speaker 2>I mean I was gonna say, like, honestly, I like <v Speaker 2>to the point about the continuity, Like you do not <v Speaker 2>need to see those first three movies to understand or <v Speaker 2>appreciate Fury Road. <v Speaker 1>And like I said, there's a lot of little things <v Speaker 1>like Max has like a little music box and there's <v Speaker 1>one scene where he has a flashback to like a <v Speaker 1>child that are that's like very brushed off, but like <v Speaker 1>stuff that that movie is a Furiosa movie. Really, Max <v Speaker 1>is just this like weird co star that like, yeah, <v Speaker 1>I mean there, if. <v Speaker 2>You remember the poster, it's like prominently Furiosa. And then <v Speaker 2>Max is just like in the background driving but it's <v Speaker 2>like she's like looking at the audience and the poster. <v Speaker 2>You're like, oh, this is her movie. <v Speaker 1>You know that that That movie is summed up in <v Speaker 1>that scene where Max is trying to snipe somebody and <v Speaker 1>Furiosa like walks up behind him. She's like, let me <v Speaker 1>just take care of this, and he's like, all right, okay, <v Speaker 1>you take the gun, but you can put the the <v Speaker 1>gun on my face. Yeah, I'll help you balance. And <v Speaker 1>that's like that to me sums up that movie so well. <v Speaker 1>I love that. <v Speaker 2>I love that also so good. Shout out to Annie <v Speaker 2>Taylor Joy. Shout out to Crazy Hamsworth because they speaking <v Speaker 2>of a Hemsworth. He is amazing in that movie. He <v Speaker 2>is having the time of his life. No, yeah, he's <v Speaker 2>I mean that move. Those movies are so important to <v Speaker 2>like Australian culture that apparently he's been like fighting to <v Speaker 2>get in a Mad Max movie for a long time. <v Speaker 2>He he wanted to be Max in The Fury Road, <v Speaker 2>but you know they went with Tom Hardy, so like <v Speaker 2>that just has to be like that's like, you know, <v Speaker 2>we love him as Thor, but I bet for him <v Speaker 2>a child from Australia. <v Speaker 1>He's like, yeah, Thor is great, but I'm gonna be <v Speaker 1>in Mad Max. <v Speaker 2>It's funny because in the movie he more or less <v Speaker 2>plays like evil crazy thor. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, is George Miller Australian? <v Speaker 1>No, he's from Pittsburgh. Ah Okay, that was a terrible joke. <v Speaker 2>Yes he is. <v Speaker 1>He is absolutely like it is. It is such a series. <v Speaker 3>I really fell for that. <v Speaker 1>It is. Yeah, sorry, I like it's It was almost <v Speaker 1>rude to me, but it's like he he is Australia. <v Speaker 1>It's like him and bos Lerman like invented Australian cinema. Basically, <v Speaker 1>he invented Australia. Is what you're gonna say, Australia. Yeah. <v Speaker 1>The original Mad Max came out in seventy nine and <v Speaker 1>it was like one of the first I could be <v Speaker 1>wrong about this, so please feel free to correct me, <v Speaker 1>but it was like one of the first big Australian <v Speaker 1>like independent hit. You know. They were like, look, here's <v Speaker 1>this weird movie we made. By the way, here's Mel Gibson. <v Speaker 1>He's gonna be the biggest American movie star for like <v Speaker 1>the next ten years until he you know, throws it <v Speaker 1>all away Gray somehow. <v Speaker 2>I don't know what happened. <v Speaker 1>I don't remember, but yeah, no, he's he's mister Australia <v Speaker 1>for sure. Yeah, and Matt Max is like, you know, <v Speaker 1>they use guzzily. They don't use gasoline, they use guzzily. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, it's a got It's already Heros has already one <v Speaker 2>of its movies. I wish I could watch again for <v Speaker 2>the first time, like as soon as I left and <v Speaker 2>I went with a few media peeps, including a friend <v Speaker 2>of the show, Eric Van Allen. <v Speaker 1>Cool but yeah, we were all looking at each other <v Speaker 1>like that was great. <v Speaker 2>Right, I'm not the only one that's like beaming right now, <v Speaker 2>like Okay, we're all just like this is awesome. <v Speaker 1>And it did. It's a little long, but good. <v Speaker 2>It doesn't feel long though. And it's funny when you <v Speaker 2>told me we were planning to show that you were <v Speaker 2>had revisited the game. I thought about that game towards <v Speaker 2>the end of the movie because that was just so <v Speaker 2>like pumped up about like just these you know, the <v Speaker 2>action scenes, like man, I might have to fire up <v Speaker 2>that Mad Max and just drive around in there for <v Speaker 2>a bit because I only played like a little bit <v Speaker 2>of it, maybe. <v Speaker 1>Like the first couple hours back when it came out, <v Speaker 1>but didn't stick with it. <v Speaker 3>Uh. <v Speaker 2>I think I still have my Xbox like digital copy probably. <v Speaker 1>That's what I had. I just went downloaded. <v Speaker 2>Yeah. Yeah, So it was one of the things like <v Speaker 2>I wonder if I remember the time it reviewed like <v Speaker 2>kind of like average, like middling, kind of like. <v Speaker 1>It's like high sevens eights. Yeah, I think Game in <v Speaker 1>Former gave like a seven to five or something like that. <v Speaker 2>Yeah. Yeah, so I was wondering, like, oh, what this <v Speaker 2>removed from the high cause I was pretty excited for <v Speaker 2>that game when it was coming out, like if I <v Speaker 2>would just appreciate it more, and then also just being <v Speaker 2>carried by like the the high of Furio. So like, man, <v Speaker 2>maybe I'll stick with this and just just because I <v Speaker 2>have just to have new Mad Max content to enjoy. Yeah, <v Speaker 2>until when or if we get another film, you know. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, I don't know really like I was was it <v Speaker 1>was I joking beforehand. I mean, Jeorgan Miller, he's he's <v Speaker 1>seventy nine years old, like he's he's getting up there. <v Speaker 1>I hope he has another Mad Max in him. <v Speaker 2>I don't know. I mean, this one took forever because <v Speaker 2>he was supposed to film this like back to back <v Speaker 2>with Fury Road, but then it went into like development <v Speaker 2>hell for a while. <v Speaker 1>It was gonna be an animated movie for a while, <v Speaker 1>and then he made Three Thousand Years of Longing, which <v Speaker 1>is like a weird genie movie. I don't know if <v Speaker 1>you guys have seen that with interest Elbow. I know <v Speaker 1>of it, but it's odd. It's a weird one. That's <v Speaker 1>kind of all he does. George Miller makes it weird. <v Speaker 1>He never doesn't anything normal. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, you have their Happy Feet sequel, I'll tak it sure, <v Speaker 2>three feet this time, this time. If the penguin you're <v Speaker 2>set in the Mad Max were over in Nuclear Apocalypses, <v Speaker 2>mutated them to have three feet than one. <v Speaker 3>I'm there someone interviewing him about how He's like, yeah, <v Speaker 3>I've always felt that Mad Max and Happy Feet are <v Speaker 3>actually really similar because of the way it's about like <v Speaker 3>a journey for one place or another and they're going <v Speaker 3>over like what's essentially a wasteland. And George Miller was like, yes, <v Speaker 3>oh my gosh, you get it. <v Speaker 1>I could see that. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, it's really great. <v Speaker 1>Is George Miller familiar with Fallout? You know that? <v Speaker 5>You know that. <v Speaker 3>I don't know at this point, it's gotta be right. <v Speaker 2>I mean, maybe like now as of this year, maybe, <v Speaker 2>but do you think he's like, do you have opinions <v Speaker 2>about that waste their wasteland and stuff. I just just <v Speaker 2>dawn to me, like does he like fall Out? <v Speaker 1>I mean he has overlapped with the video game industry. <v Speaker 1>He was, you know, like I said, he worked with <v Speaker 1>Corey Barlog for a long time. Surely curly Corey Barlog <v Speaker 1>was like, have you heard of this Fallout franchise? Is <v Speaker 1>pretty cool? You know, But yeah, that's a good question. <v Speaker 2>Oh man, that's that could be a crossover right there. <v Speaker 2>You could see Mad Max pull up and fall Out <v Speaker 2>the TV show, Like he just drives up and picks <v Speaker 2>up now and they just going on an adventure together, <v Speaker 2>going to Australia. We still don't. I mean, there's nothing <v Speaker 2>saying they can't be in the same universe. The nuclear <v Speaker 2>apocalypse and and mad Max is pretty vague. Yeah, you know, <v Speaker 2>and they're so far away because all Australia in the <v Speaker 2>United States where Fallout takes place. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, that could totally be happening at the same time <v Speaker 1>for sure. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, who knows. Get a get get one of them <v Speaker 2>on a plane to go visit the other one, and <v Speaker 2>then that there's your game slash TV show slash movie. <v Speaker 1>It is something, We'll take it. <v Speaker 2>But that don't have to say just bring up the <v Speaker 2>Mad Max game. I wanted to talk about just video <v Speaker 2>game tie ins in general, because it's got me itching <v Speaker 2>that Furiosa has me itching to play, like I want <v Speaker 2>this as a video game. This movie in a way <v Speaker 2>that I haven't felt in a long time after seeing <v Speaker 2>a movie like I feel like even the best movies, <v Speaker 2>I walk away not thinking like, man, I wish this <v Speaker 2>was a video game, Like I didn't walk away from <v Speaker 2>The Iron Claw being like, well, I gotta fire up <v Speaker 2>W two K, so I got to create the von <v Speaker 2>Ericks and make this happen. <v Speaker 1>You probably had no positive feelings for I don't want <v Speaker 1>to do anything. Fine, I just want to sit in <v Speaker 1>my feelings. <v Speaker 2>It's like they're they're still alive in my game. I'm <v Speaker 2>going to create all of them. But yeah, I it's like, oh, man, <v Speaker 2>Like if this was like the two thousands, we would <v Speaker 2>have absolutely had a game for this, probably like just <v Speaker 2>ready to go right at the bank. We would have <v Speaker 2>like a disinterested Audia Taylor joy voicing over and they, <v Speaker 2>and it would have been the movie, but with expanded <v Speaker 2>missions of like oh, here's an original character or something <v Speaker 2>in between the actual like canon stuff. Maybe Chris Hemsworth <v Speaker 2>is into it, who knows, But it was like it <v Speaker 2>feels like, yeah, you almost forget, Like man, that just <v Speaker 2>used to be the standard. That's just what That's just <v Speaker 2>what always happen with any like blockbuster release. And now <v Speaker 2>it's like, I mean, movie adaptation games are like basically <v Speaker 2>done more or less at this point, and like the <v Speaker 2>best we get now are like, this is a game <v Speaker 2>set in this universe, but it's not retelling the movies. Yeah, <v Speaker 2>I mean, now we just get Fortnite skins. <v Speaker 1>That's like the new adaptation you know, well like weird apps, <v Speaker 1>yeah yeah, that's yeah, yeah, guest appearances and free to <v Speaker 1>play gotcha games. <v Speaker 2>And stuff like that. <v Speaker 3>It's not good. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, And I guess like, do you think there's still <v Speaker 2>a place for that now in the industry or do <v Speaker 2>you think we've kind of moved on from next now? <v Speaker 2>The closes as we get today is like I said, <v Speaker 2>you just take the franchise and make a game in it, <v Speaker 2>like the Star Wars Jedi games or whatever, where they <v Speaker 2>we do. <v Speaker 1>Get better games within franchises that we like as a <v Speaker 1>result of that, and it's like cost prohibitive to try <v Speaker 1>to adapt a film because films take you know, from <v Speaker 1>you know, obviously there's pre production and writing and stuff <v Speaker 1>that takes forever, but like from production to finish, it's <v Speaker 1>like much more condensed than a video game, you know, <v Speaker 1>so like we yeah don't. I still kind of have <v Speaker 1>a soft spot for them, though, Like I I'm trying <v Speaker 1>to remember the last one I've played, Like there's the best, right, <v Speaker 1>like I always I have a lot of affection for <v Speaker 1>Spider Man two. I remember loving Batman Begins so much <v Speaker 1>when it came out that I played through that game. <v Speaker 1>It's not a good game, but like I was like <v Speaker 1>very happy with it and like please to have an <v Speaker 1>excuse to go exist in the Batman Begins universe, I think, <v Speaker 1>I I think the last one I played there was <v Speaker 1>a Thor video game. When the first Thor game, Yeah <v Speaker 1>I remember, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. <v Speaker 2>That was the It's funny because it wasn't that one, <v Speaker 2>but the same year was the Captain America game, because <v Speaker 2>those those movies came out the same year in twenty eleven. <v Speaker 1>Right, and I remember was supposed to be solid. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, I played some of the cap game and I <v Speaker 2>almost want to say, I think that was the last <v Speaker 2>movie tie in that I can remember playing, and I <v Speaker 2>remember thinking like, oh, yeah, this is all right, Like <v Speaker 2>the throwing the shield and stuff felt like pretty good <v Speaker 2>and satisfying, and I feel like that was also maybe <v Speaker 2>like the last gasp for those kind of games where <v Speaker 2>those like Phase one MCU games. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, there was Lego Star Wars Force Awakens. <v Speaker 3>I was gonna say, my my obvious answer here is <v Speaker 3>there's a lot of Lego instances of this. Yeah, sure, <v Speaker 3>Force Awakens is probably the most like specific one, but <v Speaker 3>there's also like Lego Lord of the Rings. They did <v Speaker 3>Lego Pirates, but that's I think. <v Speaker 1>Did those come out alongside the movies though, Oh that's <v Speaker 1>a good point. <v Speaker 3>There was Lego The Hobbit that came out during when <v Speaker 3>those Hobbit movies were coming from and they didn't it <v Speaker 3>doesn't really it was like afterwards. But they did do <v Speaker 3>a Lego Avengers movie that like has some of the <v Speaker 3>other Marvel movies in it. <v Speaker 2>But yeah, that was like a PS four launch games. <v Speaker 2>I played that early on the PS four. That was <v Speaker 2>like one of the few Lego games that I ever finished. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, gosh, this is a weird one, but also I <v Speaker 1>think it was the can you know that? You guys <v Speaker 1>know that mobile game Cannibalt No, where you're like running <v Speaker 1>in on a city. It was like it was like <v Speaker 1>one of the early Endless runners. This was like before <v Speaker 1>the mobile market was like flushed with free to play stuff. <v Speaker 1>But that developer, if I could be wrong, but I <v Speaker 1>believe it was that developer made a Hunger Games mobile <v Speaker 1>game that was not free to play. It was like <v Speaker 1>a premium game. It was like five bucks or something <v Speaker 1>like that, and you were like cats running through the woods, <v Speaker 1>like tapping on, you know, enemies and attacking them with <v Speaker 1>their bow. And it was very much like an arcady <v Speaker 1>little thing that I actually was kind of excited about <v Speaker 1>because I like Cannibals so much, so I guess that <v Speaker 1>one counts. <v Speaker 3>I really like. I feel like a lot of these <v Speaker 3>answers are superhero games, but I there was a fulk <v Speaker 3>game that was I think it was for The Incredible Hulk. <v Speaker 3>I think it was two thousand and eight. I just <v Speaker 3>knew it because my cousin had it and then we <v Speaker 3>got it. But you just like, are the hul can <v Speaker 3>jump around the City's not the one that's on probably right, <v Speaker 3>it's not the one that's on like GameCube. This was <v Speaker 3>on like the Xbox three sixty. <v Speaker 1>Right, because Ultimate Destruction was pre MCU, so that this <v Speaker 1>was when this came out with the Edward Norton one. <v Speaker 1>I guess, right, Yeah, I think I think so, because yeah, <v Speaker 1>there was there was one for the the original. I <v Speaker 1>don't remember who was the actor that played Hulk was, <v Speaker 1>Do you guys know what I'm talking about? Oh? <v Speaker 2>Eric Banner? <v Speaker 1>Yeah, there was an Eric Banner really bad game act <v Speaker 1>because like, to go to a really bad movie, you <v Speaker 1>would play as Eric, come on, don't bad amount that movie. <v Speaker 2>That's a good movie. <v Speaker 1>Actually, full disclosure, I've never actually seen it, but I <v Speaker 1>just like the directors. But uh, that movie had a <v Speaker 1>bunch of stealth sequences and it was like the King <v Speaker 1>of like Metal Gears popular, we'll put stealth in our <v Speaker 1>game where like we want to play as the Hulk? <v Speaker 1>What are you doing? <v Speaker 2>What if you played it? What if he were Bruce Banner? <v Speaker 2>For entirely too much of this game? <v Speaker 3>Yeah it is. It's just called The Incredible Hulk two <v Speaker 3>thousand and eight. That's the game I have on my <v Speaker 3>three sixty right, Yeah, because. <v Speaker 2>It was like I said, all the all the Phase <v Speaker 2>one MCU movies got game because there's the Iron Man <v Speaker 2>game for the first film, too. <v Speaker 1>True, right, yeah, but you know what's wild there must <v Speaker 1>have it was. <v Speaker 2>It's always boggled my mind that there was never an <v Speaker 2>Avengers movie game, Like we got all the Phase one <v Speaker 2>film games, but like the at the time, the biggest <v Speaker 2>superhero film ever, Like, look at all these characters here, <v Speaker 2>and they never did a game based off of it. <v Speaker 2>I was like, how did that did happen? <v Speaker 1>Right? <v Speaker 2>Well, the lego thing was the comic book thing, Like <v Speaker 2>it wasn't retelling the movie at all. It was just <v Speaker 2>kind of capitalizing on the the popularity of the Avengers team. <v Speaker 2>But it was otherwise its own thing. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, you know it also came out like uh around <v Speaker 3>like Age of Ultron is when the Avengers Like. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, okay, got it weird? Yeah that was that must <v Speaker 1>have been it, like that that was the last the <v Speaker 1>last gasp of it, right was that that Iron Man <v Speaker 1>and Thor and Hulk and then that was Then it's done. <v Speaker 1>Then it just becomes cost prohibitive, Like it just gets <v Speaker 1>too expensive to try to rush out a game to <v Speaker 1>go alongside a movie that quickly. <v Speaker 2>Right, yeah, unless you're there like really early. And I <v Speaker 2>guess at this point it would have to be a <v Speaker 2>sure bed of like a like like the next Avengers movie. <v Speaker 2>If they were like, we want to game adaptation of <v Speaker 2>Secret Wars, then you would gring like that immediately because <v Speaker 2>you're like, oh, that movie's gonna do well. <v Speaker 1>Yeah it just it just is. <v Speaker 2>So a game's gonna do well probably or at least <v Speaker 2>good enough, depending on how much money you want to <v Speaker 2>put into it. <v Speaker 1>But all that being said, I do like where we <v Speaker 1>are now, where it's like I would rather get Insomniac <v Speaker 1>taking their time on Spider Man and Wolverine games, yeah, <v Speaker 1>and not have them worry about trying to rush it <v Speaker 1>alongside a movie or something, you know, and then the <v Speaker 1>games become their own thing and they get to so <v Speaker 1>it's like we get better games now. But yeah, I <v Speaker 1>would be lying if I said there wasn't something charming <v Speaker 1>about like the Summer Blockbuster that I was really excited <v Speaker 1>to go see in theaters, and then I would come <v Speaker 1>home and play the video game, the crappy video game <v Speaker 1>that wasn't as good as the movie. <v Speaker 2>You know, can I Or if you're watching X Men <v Speaker 2>origins Wolverragine the game was vastly superior. <v Speaker 1>Oh that's a good point. Yeah, it's one of the <v Speaker 1>few examples. <v Speaker 3>The movie I watched recently that for some reason I <v Speaker 3>wanted it to be a video game was Madam Webb <v Speaker 3>Web just got it on Netflix. <v Speaker 1>Felt like you were watching a PS two cut scene? <v Speaker 1>Is that why? Yeah, had like video game cut scene <v Speaker 1>energy where it was like insulting video game cut scene <v Speaker 1>just in the sense of. <v Speaker 3>They had to have put their resources somewhere else because <v Speaker 3>it's not going in the dialogue and writing of these <v Speaker 3>cut scenes, except that's all the movie is. And also <v Speaker 3>like iud have you seen this movie now? <v Speaker 2>Oh, I saw it in theaters. I paid money, but <v Speaker 2>I knew also knew it was bad. Like me and <v Speaker 2>a friend went to a like a late showing just <v Speaker 2>the kind of basically riff on it, like how bad <v Speaker 2>can it be? And oh, okay, that bad? <v Speaker 3>Yeah, there's I wanted to be a video game because <v Speaker 3>it has like I just know it would be a <v Speaker 3>terrible video game, but also like, no part of it <v Speaker 3>would really make a very good video game, like they <v Speaker 3>it would have to do that thing they do sometimes <v Speaker 3>where it's like you're not really like living through any <v Speaker 3>of the parts of the movie. You're just playing as <v Speaker 3>like Dakota Johnson in a weird platform or in between, <v Speaker 3>like what's essentially choked to the movie where she's like <v Speaker 3>I have to go back to my apartment to do <v Speaker 3>this thing, and then there's like a driving mini game <v Speaker 3>or something where there's like and then maybe a boss <v Speaker 3>battle at the end. <v Speaker 2>You just turn it into Indigo, or it's just like <v Speaker 2>weird like surprise like why platforming sequences and an otherwise <v Speaker 2>like realistic game, like they're exploring this force that you <v Speaker 2>left these kids in for three hours for some reason. <v Speaker 1>And then I mean that's that's like sixteen bit era <v Speaker 1>kind of stuff right where it's like, what this is nothing? <v Speaker 1>Now're like this was in the movie? What are we <v Speaker 1>doing here? <v Speaker 3>You know? If it was if it was good, it <v Speaker 3>would be like a life is strange because she's got <v Speaker 3>some kind of like future vision power thing, right, Yeah, <v Speaker 3>but it they'd have to like rewrite the whole thing <v Speaker 3>and make it like a good story. <v Speaker 2>They have to rewrite it, but be good, rewrite it, <v Speaker 2>but good. <v Speaker 1>Have you seen the edit I'm gonna start giving you guys, <v Speaker 1>just in general, just for just rewrite it, but make <v Speaker 1>it good, just be good. Have you seen Madame Webko No, <v Speaker 1>I was busy that day. Whenever it came to Netflix <v Speaker 1>or whatever, I'm I'm good. <v Speaker 3>I highly recommend it, like genuinely, it's so funny. <v Speaker 2>It's fascinating if you've ever been fascinated at train wrecks <v Speaker 2>of like how can this exist? <v Speaker 1>As I've gotten older, I try not to watch stuff <v Speaker 1>like bad, stuff that's bad, if that makes sense right. <v Speaker 1>It's like, oh, I'm gonna spend an hour and a <v Speaker 1>half watching this thing. I've heard it so bad it's <v Speaker 1>gonna be hilarious. It's like, well, you know, I could <v Speaker 1>watch something good. <v Speaker 2>I mean, it's so bad. It's a watch very person. <v Speaker 1>What'd you say? <v Speaker 2>Are you so bad? It's good? <v Speaker 1>Person? <v Speaker 3>Not really. <v Speaker 1>I certainly was at one time in my life that <v Speaker 1>you know, there's the joy of going to like a <v Speaker 1>theater with your friends, or like renting a cult movie <v Speaker 1>or something like that. But now that I'm just like <v Speaker 1>a dad, you know, who's trying to find any time <v Speaker 1>to do the things he wants to do. I try <v Speaker 1>not to waste it on things like Madam web But <v Speaker 1>you know, you guys convinced me maybe I should watch <v Speaker 1>Madam Webb. <v Speaker 3>It's I think. I think the last line of the <v Speaker 3>movie is like, and that's the best part about the future. <v Speaker 3>It hasn't happened yet, and then it goes to credits. <v Speaker 2>Doesn't make sense. <v Speaker 1>It's all it's like, I guess the best part is <v Speaker 1>the definition of uncertainty. It's one of those lines that's <v Speaker 1>supposed to sound more profound than it actually is. Yeah, <v Speaker 1>you take one step back and you're like, wait, why <v Speaker 1>is that a good thing? Though? Really? <v Speaker 3>Yeah, you didn't say yeah. And also she does, she does, <v Speaker 3>she does know what happens. <v Speaker 2>She's yeah, she's lying. Yeah, Yeah, she's speaking from a <v Speaker 2>place of privilege, just like yeah, for the peons that <v Speaker 2>can't see the future, Yeah, we should do go see <v Speaker 2>the movie, Kyle, and then we could do a spoiled <v Speaker 2>video and it's what we're getting at. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, and then pitch our video months later and Charles, <v Speaker 1>I'll assign you to furiosa fantastic movie that you're gonna <v Speaker 1>be grateful. Let you in and saw go see it <v Speaker 1>on the biggest screen you can find. <v Speaker 3>I'll be like, that wasn't bad at all. <v Speaker 1>It was all really good. <v Speaker 2>I was gonna say I had similar thought Charles about <v Speaker 2>watching a movie and wishing was a game when I <v Speaker 2>watched Avatar A Way of Water when I was getting <v Speaker 2>ready to write the The Avatar cover story last year. <v Speaker 2>I hadn't seen it up to that point, and there's <v Speaker 2>a scene where the guy I don't remember any of <v Speaker 2>those kids' names, but the sun is like swimming with <v Speaker 2>those the space whales, and I was like, I kind <v Speaker 2>of because it's like this looks so pretty and it's <v Speaker 2>so serene, or like, man if you made this like <v Speaker 2>a game of like an ab Zoo style thing, and <v Speaker 2>you're just like like, what if the Avatar game just <v Speaker 2>had this like just swim around with these space whales <v Speaker 2>and you're just talking to them and you're just in <v Speaker 2>this beautiful ocean and it's like Subnautica but without the <v Speaker 2>terror involved. And then like I kind of want that, <v Speaker 2>but the game doesn't take place in that part of Pandora. <v Speaker 2>So and then you played Endless Ocean and you were <v Speaker 2>kind of like, well, this is underwhelming. What if they <v Speaker 2>were too many space whales? <v Speaker 1>Is that what it's called Endless Ocean? I feel like, now, yeah, yeah, <v Speaker 1>is there an RPG in Endless Ocean or something. <v Speaker 2>I mean, it's probably got those words, like Star Ocean. <v Speaker 2>There's probably a star Osan game with the word endless <v Speaker 2>in it somewhere. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, there's some RPG with the word endless, infinite infinity <v Speaker 1>or something like that. There's infinite Undiscovery. That's the one <v Speaker 1>I'm thinking of. Yeah, yeah, I don't know. Maybe I'm <v Speaker 1>thinking of Star Ocean. Yeah, Star Ocean, Endless story Are <v Speaker 1>that's probably. <v Speaker 2>The name of one of them. <v Speaker 1>You nailed it. That's five years. That'll be a new game. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, alrighty, But I guess we're uh to sort of <v Speaker 2>like rap or wrap this up. I should say, I <v Speaker 2>I miss. I don't know if miss is the word, <v Speaker 2>but I guess I'm nostalgic. Yeah, kind of games like <v Speaker 2>if I we are better off now, Like I would <v Speaker 2>rather have the Guardians of the Galaxy that we just <v Speaker 2>got a few years ago than like a retelling of <v Speaker 2>the twenty fourteen movie. As much as I love that movie, <v Speaker 2>but like that game, it's like, no, no, just do <v Speaker 2>something original, don't even you know, you get to play <v Speaker 2>around with the license a lot more when you're not <v Speaker 2>beholding to the movie restriction and focus on. <v Speaker 1>What works in a video game structure as instead of <v Speaker 1>a movie structure. Yeah, that kind of thing. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, or in the case of a act, just a <v Speaker 2>strictly film franchise like Avatar of like, oh, it's a <v Speaker 2>new story, it's cannon to the universe, but it's its <v Speaker 2>own thing. Yeah, it's like more like I guess like <v Speaker 2>Mad Max is of like, oh, man, I wish I <v Speaker 2>had new Mad Max to consume that's canonical and like, oh, <v Speaker 2>there's that game there. You could go play that and <v Speaker 2>have like a decent enough time. So it's like, yeah, <v Speaker 2>I guess I could do that. Then technically just reliving <v Speaker 2>a story I'd already seen a game, but maybe some <v Speaker 2>twists in there, so like things are better now. But <v Speaker 2>it just like Furios has made me weirdly nostalgic for <v Speaker 2>those that in those old games. Yeah, And honestly, maybe <v Speaker 2>it'll come back around, because everything does. Eventually, it'll be <v Speaker 2>a fashionable game all someone will do an adaptation of <v Speaker 2>some whatever big blockbuster that's on the horizon, and then <v Speaker 2>it'll make a bunch of money, and then everyone else <v Speaker 2>will go like, wow, we should do that too, and <v Speaker 2>then it becomes and then the newer generation. It didn't <v Speaker 2>grow up at those games, but be like what an <v Speaker 2>whole idea video game movie, five nights at Freddy's two. <v Speaker 1>The game, the movie, the game. Then we're getting into <v Speaker 1>like street Fighter the movie, the game territory, now are we. Yeah, <v Speaker 1>they were head of the curve for what is inarguably <v Speaker 1>the worst street fighter game ever made? Right didn't they <v Speaker 1>do it? <v Speaker 2>A legend of chun Lee game? <v Speaker 1>Oh, like a single player kind of action game. Or <v Speaker 1>do you think Williams from Teking she had her own? No, <v Speaker 1>I mean that exists too, and that was awful. <v Speaker 2>It wasn't there? <v Speaker 3>Oh? <v Speaker 2>God, this up now? <v Speaker 1>I think you're right? Yeah, yeah, what's the worst street <v Speaker 1>fighter game? And do you count street Fighter the game? <v Speaker 1>Street Fighter the movie, the game. I mean it's a <v Speaker 1>street fighter fighting game. So yes, yeah, are you familiar <v Speaker 1>with this game, Charles? <v Speaker 3>No, but I'm not like a street Fighter Okay? <v Speaker 1>They because there was the terrible movie with John Claude <v Speaker 1>van Dam and they did a video game adaptation, and <v Speaker 1>if I'm not mistaken, Marcus, it actually hughes closer Mortal Kombat. Right. <v Speaker 2>It's like they use digitized actage tight act combat form <v Speaker 2>like a Street Fighter game and apparently it's awful. Right. <v Speaker 2>Have you seen the live action Street Fighter movie, Charles, <v Speaker 2>so I can give you another film assignment. <v Speaker 1>Watch that in Madam Webb and you'll be having a <v Speaker 1>great night. <v Speaker 2>That's true. <v Speaker 1>There you go. <v Speaker 2>All right, let's do some housekeeping here of course, thank <v Speaker 2>you for listening, and if you'd like to support the <v Speaker 2>show as well as Game Informer as a whole, you <v Speaker 2>can subscribe to a physical version of the magazine right <v Speaker 2>now for just nineteen ninety one. I <v Speaker 2>watched that at an airport I was waiting for my flight. Yeah, <v Speaker 2>you guys did an awesome job. And also I streamed <v Speaker 2>a X Defiant last week with the Charlie Willcalls, who <v Speaker 2>was front of the show reviewed Xifying for us, and yeah, actually, Kyle, <v Speaker 2>you know what we should do. We should stream that <v Speaker 2>mad Max game. Yes, we should do that. <v Speaker 1>I was thincond of like, when would we do that? <v Speaker 1>That's that's what that was my pause. <v Speaker 2>Yes, at some point do you talk about it? Maybe <v Speaker 2>want to look at that game again? <v Speaker 1>Yeah, boot it up. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, let's do it. We'll figure it out. And then <v Speaker 2>also we gotta do that quest master thing. We should <v Speaker 2>do that too. <v Speaker 1>Yeah. Are you already promised it so? Yes. <v Speaker 2>Be sure to also keep up with our awesome podcast <v Speaker 2>editor Matt Storm, a GA DJ Storm again, who makes <v Speaker 2>his show looking sound good each and every week. We've got three questions here, a couple <v Speaker 2>held over from last week, first of which is, oh gosh, <v Speaker 2>how do I pronounce this? Shifuju? Via Discord? That is <v Speaker 2>my best attentph asking what is the most important aspect <v Speaker 2>of a game for your own personal enjoyment? Gameplay, story, graphics, replayability, multiplayer, <v Speaker 2>or something else. I think I noticed answer for you, Kyle, <v Speaker 2>Oh yeah, what do you think it is? I was <v Speaker 2>gonna say story? <v Speaker 1>No, now, gameplay like pretty handily, Like if the game <v Speaker 1>is not like fun to control, like that's that's I'm <v Speaker 1>out at that point, you know what I mean? In fact, <v Speaker 1>I struggle with a lot of narrative games that don't <v Speaker 1>that sort of side like back seat sort of it <v Speaker 1>being fun to play, because which is like I understand <v Speaker 1>they have their story, that's the thing they want front <v Speaker 1>and center. But like if it's not fun to control <v Speaker 1>the character, you know, and like a walking stimulator or <v Speaker 1>something like that, I struggle with it, Like I want <v Speaker 1>it to play well and play fun, and then everything <v Speaker 1>else just makes that even better, you know what I mean? <v Speaker 1>Like if the story is cool, like I can, I can? <v Speaker 1>I mean some of my favorite games don't have story <v Speaker 1>at all, and they just feel really good to play, <v Speaker 1>you know. I mean, I think a lot of people, <v Speaker 1>as much as I love it, I don't think many <v Speaker 1>people cite Zelda's story as the thing that they love <v Speaker 1>about Zelda, you know. But like Breath of the Wild <v Speaker 1>and Tears of the Kingdom, it's just so fun to <v Speaker 1>exist in that world that if all the story was <v Speaker 1>stripped out, I think I would still have a fantastic experience. <v Speaker 1>Like narrative is just like extra extra additional confect you know. <v Speaker 1>So that's where I'm at. I'm gameplay guy myself. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, Charles, I think I'm also gameplay I do find <v Speaker 3>myself more nostalgic for like some of the games I <v Speaker 3>go back to the most often are like the Spider <v Speaker 3>Man games, and I won't even like I mean, sometimes <v Speaker 3>I'll obviously do full playthroughs, but a lot of the <v Speaker 3>times I'll also just like drop into a file I've <v Speaker 3>already finished and then just like swinging around the city <v Speaker 3>and fight crime for like an hour. So I think <v Speaker 3>I think that's it, But it's also like, I don't know, <v Speaker 3>it's a lot of things. I think that the main <v Speaker 3>thing I that like makes me like a game is <v Speaker 3>when I feel like all the pieces fit together very well. <v Speaker 2>So like in a. <v Speaker 3>Like if we're talking about like Breath of the Wilder <v Speaker 3>Twos of the Kingdom, I feel like it has a <v Speaker 3>lot of like the way that the gameplay and the <v Speaker 3>story are b balanced out where it feels like so <v Speaker 3>player driven that like I can feel like I'm just <v Speaker 3>doing the story for a long time and it feels <v Speaker 3>like I decided to do that, and then other times <v Speaker 3>I could just go and like fight stuff or look <v Speaker 3>for a certain item in the depths or whatever. I <v Speaker 3>think that's like what I'm talking about, like game philosophy <v Speaker 3>overall of like what I think makes a good game. <v Speaker 3>That's the main thing. Like also in Spider Man again, <v Speaker 3>I always talk about how I like Spider Man Mob's <v Speaker 3>morales as like one of my favorite, my favorite Spider <v Speaker 3>Man game. One of the things I like about that <v Speaker 3>game more than the first Spider Man game is I <v Speaker 3>feel like it does a lot better job of like <v Speaker 3>blending the narrative justification for some of the elements of <v Speaker 3>like Spider Man. The first twenty eighteen game has stealth sections, <v Speaker 3>but always feels kind of weird because it a lot <v Speaker 3>of that game feels like they're like, well, the Arkham <v Speaker 3>games worked really well, so we're gonna try to take <v Speaker 3>aspects of that. But I never thought of like Peter <v Speaker 3>Parker spider Man as like a stealthy dude, and a <v Speaker 3>lot of the mechanics there are just like you're just <v Speaker 3>kind of swinging around and sticking to ceilings or whatever. <v Speaker 3>Miles has the ability to turn invisible, so it always <v Speaker 3>made way more sense for him to like want to <v Speaker 3>be stealthy and be stealthy in that way as like <v Speaker 3>an example for a thing that really makes a game <v Speaker 3>work for me. <v Speaker 1>So I guess that would be a context, right. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, yeah, yeah, I guess I'm also gameplay. I think, <v Speaker 2>I think when I think about games that I like, <v Speaker 2>I think some of the best games I've enjoyed are <v Speaker 2>the ones where the gameplay was awesome but had minimal <v Speaker 2>to know story whatsoever. As much as I do love <v Speaker 2>story and writing and games, whereas the opposite when it's like, oh, <v Speaker 2>this is a really good story, but the game is <v Speaker 2>like the gameplay is maybe not even necessarily bad, but <v Speaker 2>just maybe minimal, is like I like those. I'm trying <v Speaker 2>to think of any games where it's like, oh, the <v Speaker 2>story is great, but the gameplay is like actively bad <v Speaker 2>and I have a harder time trying to come up <v Speaker 2>with any good examples outside of maybe last year deliver <v Speaker 2>Us Mars, which is the game that I reviewed, had <v Speaker 2>that problem where that was a game I gave, I <v Speaker 2>want to say, like a six point seventy five, and <v Speaker 2>it was almost entirely because the plot is like excellent <v Speaker 2>in that game, to the point where I wanted to <v Speaker 2>bring it up last year for like best narrative, but <v Speaker 2>I knew it was like I'm the only one that <v Speaker 2>played this game. It's not gonna. <v Speaker 1>I would argue all Telltale games have or had bad gameplay, <v Speaker 1>Like I don't like the gameplay of Telltale games. You know, <v Speaker 1>they feel stiff and weird and the qtas or I <v Speaker 1>feel out of place. But you know, the ones that <v Speaker 1>I pulled through and finished were, you know, because I <v Speaker 1>was getting pulled along by the story in spite of <v Speaker 1>being annoyed by the gameplay, but which was not many. <v Speaker 1>I didn't really get into the Telltale games myself. <v Speaker 3>That's that's kind of how I feel about like Ace <v Speaker 3>Triny games too, of like I'm not doing it because <v Speaker 3>I really like searching a background and clicking on this <v Speaker 3>stuff that stands out that's like a mostly story thing <v Speaker 3>for me. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, yeah, and the eight Turning games it's like bad gameplay. <v Speaker 2>It's just it's just kind of it's very minimal and limited. <v Speaker 2>It's good for what it's trying to do or what <v Speaker 2>it or it's all that it needs to do to <v Speaker 2>get its point across. But in the outside of like, oh, <v Speaker 2>this story is like Shakespearean, but the gameplay is just <v Speaker 2>like trash. I'm trying to I don't know, I haven't. <v Speaker 2>I don't know if I've played a lot of those games, <v Speaker 2>or maybe I'm just like because I feel like, like <v Speaker 2>what it's a story be enough to pull me through <v Speaker 2>and otherwise like miserable gameplay experience that it wasn't for work. <v Speaker 2>I don't. I don't know. Maybe not if it's like <v Speaker 2>if it feels like the game's actively fighting me. So yeah, <v Speaker 2>i'd say gameplay. I will say as a bonus, the <v Speaker 2>least the thing I care about the least out of <v Speaker 2>these options is replayability, because I rarely replay games. <v Speaker 1>Yeah. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, Usually I'm just want to multiplayer. <v Speaker 1>For me, multiplayers are knock against a game for me, <v Speaker 1>which is I don't I don't want to play it. <v Speaker 1>If it's got other people. Other people are there? <v Speaker 2>No, I'm good. Give these guys. What if it was <v Speaker 2>a Batman game where you could play co op and <v Speaker 2>you were the other bat kids. What if someone made <v Speaker 2>something like. <v Speaker 1>That, maybe I would play it for an hour and <v Speaker 1>realize that it's not for me? <v Speaker 3>Marcus? Why what if we just didn't even have Batman? <v Speaker 2>Though? <v Speaker 3>Wouldn't that make it better? <v Speaker 1>If? Insane? Although you could have the marketing beat of <v Speaker 1>Jeff Keeley exuberantly on stage proclaiming Batman is dead. <v Speaker 2>I forgot about that. Droid o Power via Discord asked, <v Speaker 2>is there a mental switch that flips when you realize <v Speaker 2>a game you were playing for fun is now a <v Speaker 2>game you're playing for work? If so, how does that <v Speaker 2>change the way you play? <v Speaker 1>Kyle? Was that sort of kind of lore line the <v Speaker 1>Laser Ice for you? <v Speaker 2>I know you checked it out kind of for work, <v Speaker 2>but you weren't planning to review it until you liked <v Speaker 2>it so much. <v Speaker 1>Yeah? I mean that was that is interesting that if <v Speaker 1>a switch flips, because I really didn't. I wasn't committed <v Speaker 1>to reviewing it until after I finished it. Honestly, I <v Speaker 1>think I might have said I might review this. <v Speaker 2>I think, yeah, like you implied, because you're like, I <v Speaker 2>think I'm going to finish this and I want to <v Speaker 2>talk about it. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, I mean, and that maybe I think the flip <v Speaker 1>that switches there is maybe like I'm like twenty percent <v Speaker 1>more motivated to finish it. But like, yeah, it's rare, <v Speaker 1>I think among us. I Charles, you've done it a <v Speaker 1>few times actually, where it's like you start a game <v Speaker 1>and you play it and then the review gets assigned. <v Speaker 1>Like that happens less. It's weirdly happened tills like twice recently, but. <v Speaker 3>That's because it's it's often like I'll I just don't <v Speaker 3>often have a lot of hours, like I operate hourly, <v Speaker 3>whereas everyone else is like salaried. So usually what happens <v Speaker 3>is I will get a game and I'll be playing <v Speaker 3>it in my free time to just like talk about <v Speaker 3>on podcasts or whatever, and then I'll like with Mario <v Speaker 3>versus Donkey Kong. I was talking to Brian about it <v Speaker 3>and I'll like, yeah, I'm like almost done, and he <v Speaker 3>was gonna review. He's like, oh, I have a lot <v Speaker 3>of other stuff going on if you want to just <v Speaker 3>review it, and I was like, yeah, I already like <v Speaker 3>finished it. It wasn't that big of a thing. I <v Speaker 3>I do have that switch flip and I always hate it. <v Speaker 3>He's going that like I don't know just that now <v Speaker 3>it's like so Marverus don Kong, it didn't. That was <v Speaker 3>fine because I was like I wanted to review, So <v Speaker 3>that was like a good example. It always feels weird <v Speaker 3>when I've like started playing a game and then it <v Speaker 3>gets to a point where it's like, oh, I like <v Speaker 3>this is this was a game for me for my <v Speaker 3>own free time. But now I've spent enough time with <v Speaker 3>it that I feel the need to like turn it <v Speaker 3>into a work thing, and that like takes like some <v Speaker 3>of the enjoyment out of it. Whereas I do, like <v Speaker 3>like I played I mentioned it like once really off <v Speaker 3>handley during a mic check. I played PUSHM this year. <v Speaker 3>I didn't talk about it anywhere. I played it on DS. <v Speaker 3>I really liked that it was just like a personal thing. <v Speaker 3>But when it does when I do realize it's a <v Speaker 3>work thing, what is that thing for you? Marcus? Is <v Speaker 3>that like a switch or you always kind of on <v Speaker 3>the prowl? <v Speaker 2>I feel like mentally maybe because doing this long enough <v Speaker 2>now where it's almost like unless it's something that's really <v Speaker 2>old that you're you know, you're just not going to <v Speaker 2>review just it's just too old, right, But if it's <v Speaker 2>something that's like relatively new, if it's something from this year, <v Speaker 2>I feel like that I'm always my brain is always <v Speaker 2>on call, for lack of a better terms of like <v Speaker 2>review stuff. Like everything I play, there's that nugget of <v Speaker 2>I could make this work in some way, either like <v Speaker 2>as an m GT or a stream or a review <v Speaker 2>or whatever it is. And then sometimes that's like it's <v Speaker 2>exciting when it's something that maybe a lot of people <v Speaker 2>aren't talking about and then you're like and then if <v Speaker 2>you're like really liking it, and you're just like, oh, <v Speaker 2>I don't want us to forget about it. I want <v Speaker 2>us to talk about this at the end of the <v Speaker 2>year because I'm having that much fun with it and <v Speaker 2>it wasn't on the docket until I started playing it. <v Speaker 2>So then it's like that exciting, like, oh man, there <v Speaker 2>have been several times I've messaged Brian but like, hey, <v Speaker 2>I'm just playing this, you know, just because I got <v Speaker 2>a coach just checking it out, but like we should <v Speaker 2>do a review for it. There was something this year <v Speaker 2>that I I did that for I'm trying to on it. <v Speaker 2>There was something I gave up. I think Indigo was that. Actually, <v Speaker 2>I don't think I didn't read the guy volunteered because <v Speaker 2>I was like, yeah, I heard about this and I <v Speaker 2>was just checking it out as I'd played the Steam <v Speaker 2>demo and I was like, yeah, we should do something <v Speaker 2>with that. <v Speaker 1>So yeah, there's I guess that's a recent one. <v Speaker 2>But there's also times where I'll do it and then <v Speaker 2>there I feel like that pressure to get it done, <v Speaker 2>or like the pressure that comes with with any work <v Speaker 2>assignment of like, Okay, now that I've turned this from <v Speaker 2>like a casual thing into an assignment, now I have <v Speaker 2>to get this done in a more timely manner than <v Speaker 2>if I was just playing it whenever I felt like it. <v Speaker 2>And then you know, the entire produ I'm like, Okay, <v Speaker 2>I gotta write the review, I gotta to maybe do <v Speaker 2>a video on it, I gotta talk about it, s <v Speaker 2>michaelherently on the podcast, a lot of good stuff, Like <v Speaker 2>whereas before I would have just kept it to myself <v Speaker 2>and internalize, I'm like, oh, yeah, it's cool, okay. So <v Speaker 2>then sometimes I do feel that like inherent work anxiety <v Speaker 2>that can pop up to just depending and I could <v Speaker 2>vary based on like how busy my workload already is, <v Speaker 2>right of, like, I we should do something with this, <v Speaker 2>but am I adding too much to my existing plate <v Speaker 2>by taking this on now? But then it's but then <v Speaker 2>the passion you just way up. But we should can't <v Speaker 2>let this, you know, can't let this lie. We gotta <v Speaker 2>talk about this, we gotta get this out there. Man, <v Speaker 2>it's gonna be cool. So I guess that's like the <v Speaker 2>biggest difference in going from like care free to okay, <v Speaker 2>for better or worse, all the work stuff that comes <v Speaker 2>with making this review game is now I'm now taken <v Speaker 2>that on. <v Speaker 3>You know, I think I think there's also a thing <v Speaker 3>for me. And again, I do want to know if <v Speaker 3>you guys relate to this, because I don't actually know <v Speaker 3>if this is a thing that goes away if you <v Speaker 3>still feel it. Sometimes I'm playing a game when I'm like, Okay, <v Speaker 3>I guess I'm gonna talk about this work. I guess <v Speaker 3>I have to think of a way to be smart <v Speaker 3>about it. <v Speaker 1>Oh yeah, Sometimes I'm just. <v Speaker 4>Playing it and I'm like, yeah, dude, I love Spider Man, <v Speaker 4>I love the I love I'm doing stuff and I'm <v Speaker 4>just not even thinking about it critically, and I'm like, <v Speaker 4>I guess I gotta, like, I don't know, form a <v Speaker 4>thesis statement. <v Speaker 1>Or yeah I have that I feel I need. Yeah, <v Speaker 1>you know, yeah, a thesis is a good way to <v Speaker 1>put it, like, because you want to have something to <v Speaker 1>grab onto if you're talking about a game, rather than <v Speaker 1>just being like, yeah, it's good, you know, yeah, a <v Speaker 1>little more than that. So yeah, no, you never get <v Speaker 1>over it. Yeah, look forward to that. <v Speaker 2>I think it's even more maybe nerve racking, when it <v Speaker 2>the more that you like it, yeah, or the more <v Speaker 2>I think it. Maybe the other way too, like Gus, <v Speaker 2>if you passionately love it or you passionately dislike it, <v Speaker 2>it feels like you can't just say like I hate <v Speaker 2>or I love this game. You want to be able <v Speaker 2>to convey intelligently why you enjoyed the thing so much, <v Speaker 2>whereas before you could just get away. But like, I <v Speaker 2>love this game, man, you got to check it out, <v Speaker 2>and then that's like the end. <v Speaker 4>Of it, you know. <v Speaker 1>Yeah. <v Speaker 3>Every every review I've done, I get to a point <v Speaker 3>in it where I'm like, I wish I could just <v Speaker 3>do like an hour long video essay of every part <v Speaker 3>of this game, and then everything will be on the <v Speaker 3>table and never know what I'm saying. But that's not <v Speaker 3>a thing we do. And also I don't want to <v Speaker 3>spend a month on everything. They were open to it, <v Speaker 3>if you want to do it, I don't have. I <v Speaker 3>have other things I should be doing. <v Speaker 2>What if we all just had super Eye patch? Wolfe's <v Speaker 2>work schedule, I don't know who is this. Oh, he's <v Speaker 2>like a really popular YouTube essay is he does some <v Speaker 2>really good video essays. Okay, he's got to leave you. Okay, <v Speaker 2>Well he's right to check him out. He's got some <v Speaker 2>great wrestling stuff too, but he does a bunch of <v Speaker 2>monch stuff. Last question Grant via discord. What would be <v Speaker 2>some adaptations of games to movies you guys would like <v Speaker 2>to see as either live action or animated. I would <v Speaker 2>love to see a live action Metroid movie or an <v Speaker 2>animated Gravity Rush movie. <v Speaker 1>There was that one. A Gravity Rush movie was in <v Speaker 1>the works at one point. I don't know if it <v Speaker 1>still is, but that's a fantastic answer. I would love <v Speaker 1>to see Gravity Rush. <v Speaker 2>Yeah. <v Speaker 1>Was that movie gonna be animated too? <v Speaker 2>I believe so. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, as it should be, But Yeah, I would still <v Speaker 1>like to see an animated Jack and Daxter movie. Like <v Speaker 1>the track record for that kind of stuff is pretty bleak. <v Speaker 1>Ratcheting Clank is not a very good movie. But like <v Speaker 1>the story of Jack and Daxter, I like quite a <v Speaker 1>lot more than Ratcheting Clank because it's like involves time <v Speaker 1>travel and stuff, and like, I would love to see <v Speaker 1>a story that takes the arc of the first game <v Speaker 1>in the second game, you know, like, I think that <v Speaker 1>would be a cool film. The third game, speaking of <v Speaker 1>Mad Max, very Mad Max inspired game, riding giant buggies <v Speaker 1>around the desert. The third one I could take her leave, <v Speaker 1>But the first two in particular, I would like to <v Speaker 1>see adapted at some point. I think that'd be fun. <v Speaker 3>Hmm. <v Speaker 2>This is getting harder because we're getting so many of <v Speaker 2>these now. It feels like, yeah, either they come out <v Speaker 2>or the left right, or either they've been greenlit and <v Speaker 2>may not ever see the light of day, or they've <v Speaker 2>actually come out. Yeah, I almost said it would still be. <v Speaker 1>Fun to see realized, you know. But that was that <v Speaker 1>has that comes and goes in terms of being existing. <v Speaker 1>Netflix is doing that now, right, was that the last <v Speaker 1>the most recent thing? <v Speaker 3>Right? <v Speaker 2>They got their hands on that, and that's still happening. <v Speaker 2>But yeah, it's like that, and I guess Halo we <v Speaker 2>can take off now because we got the show, even <v Speaker 2>if it wasn't the movie everyone wanted, but like, I <v Speaker 2>feel like that anyone wanted. If it's like BioShock and <v Speaker 2>Metal Gear or like the Two White Whales when it <v Speaker 2>comes to the video game movies, of like, it feels <v Speaker 2>like we've been hearing about bo forever and they never materialize. God, <v Speaker 2>I almost said doublely cry, but then I remember there <v Speaker 2>was that animated show in the two thousands. That's it's <v Speaker 2>like pretty pretty fun. I don't know if that would <v Speaker 2>work in live action, honestly. <v Speaker 3>Did they do ever do like a Horizon zero down <v Speaker 3>zero for the way? <v Speaker 1>I'm almost certain I think that's I think that's in production. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, that would be good animated. <v Speaker 2>I think that they Yeah, because I know Ghost of <v Speaker 2>Shushima is happening from PlayStation studios like the movie. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, I think God of More, Ghsa, Sushima, and Horizon <v Speaker 1>I think are all on track to have adaptations. I believe. <v Speaker 2>Okay, maybe man, this is why is man. I'm gonna <v Speaker 2>have to think it's an indie game since we're starting <v Speaker 2>to get into that. <v Speaker 3>Well now, oh yeah, give me, give me a Katana <v Speaker 3>zero animated show. That would be really good. I think. <v Speaker 3>I think my take on this is I really like <v Speaker 3>animated stuff, and I think I'm more interested in taking <v Speaker 3>some of these art styles to a different art style <v Speaker 3>than like trying to take it from its unique art <v Speaker 3>style to a live action in a lot of instances, <v Speaker 3>so like another good one. Uh, I played all through <v Speaker 3>these games in the same year, but like I think <v Speaker 3>would be interesting. I don't really know what that would be. <v Speaker 3>But also like Hollow Night, I think you could have <v Speaker 3>some really cool that one. Actually I want live action. <v Speaker 3>I want a Tim Burton Hollow Night movie. Okay, that's <v Speaker 3>my pitch. <v Speaker 1>I also, I really love the indie game in terms <v Speaker 1>of like a story, iconoclasts I love and I would <v Speaker 1>love to see an animated version of that. And the <v Speaker 1>creator of that game, his brother is a Hollywood director. <v Speaker 1>He directed the two Shazam films. Okay, yeah, there's a <v Speaker 1>character in Shazam two that is wearing an Iconoclass T <v Speaker 1>shirt as a nod to his brother. I don't know <v Speaker 1>if he's ever worked in animation or it would be <v Speaker 1>interested in animation. But that'd be fun to see those two, <v Speaker 1>like the sibling sort of get together and make an <v Speaker 1>animated movie based on this original property. And icono Class <v Speaker 1>is a very cool sort of it's all about like <v Speaker 1>religion and weird stuff, but it's got the colorful art style. <v Speaker 2>It's it's a great one. I think must that conversation <v Speaker 2>has to have happened around Thanksgiving or something, right. <v Speaker 3>I hope, so you know, yeah, that's the kind of <v Speaker 3>thing they would say. And then like one aunt would <v Speaker 3>be like, so are you gonna make an iconoglass movie? <v Speaker 3>You no like laugh about, Like, well, we've talked about it, <v Speaker 3>and that's like that just. <v Speaker 1>Like the idea of someone's aunt asking about Iconoclass. <v Speaker 3>You definitely wouldn't know the proper Now they'd be like, <v Speaker 3>so are you gonna get Zachary Levi for the next. <v Speaker 1>Is he gonna be? Is he gonna emerge from a <v Speaker 1>pool of milky white substance until you give him superpowers? <v Speaker 1>Just like in the game. <v Speaker 2>The Keeper of the Lore. Old aunt I thought, I <v Speaker 2>want a live action case of the Golden Idol, like <v Speaker 2>give me a knives Out style live action mystery, but <v Speaker 2>it's case of the Golden Idol. But then you also <v Speaker 2>make all the cast members like I don't know, maybe <v Speaker 2>you put like prosthetic makeup on them, but they look <v Speaker 2>as weird as those characters do in the games, like <v Speaker 2>that weird art style that the game has, or everyone <v Speaker 2>is just kind of gross to look at. Just just <v Speaker 2>do that, or like try to like get in the <v Speaker 2>ballpark of that look. But that would be cool. Like yeah, <v Speaker 2>just give me like god Rhian Johnson, just get let <v Speaker 2>him play Case of the Golden Idol and then let <v Speaker 2>him get ideas. <v Speaker 1>He might have. He's a video game guy. He plays <v Speaker 1>video games. <v Speaker 2>Oh yeah, he is? <v Speaker 3>He in your database, Kyle, he is. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, he was talking about God of War at one point. <v Speaker 1>It's a big Pokemon Go player. <v Speaker 3>Yeah. <v Speaker 1>He directed a Pokemon Go commercial in the middle of <v Speaker 1>the pandemic. Okay, okay, yeah, that'd be cool. <v Speaker 2>I want to see that. I like Case of Golden <v Speaker 2>Idol's story a lot again rules, I'm excited for that sequel, <v Speaker 2>so I just love to play that one. Yeah alrighty, <v Speaker 2>that will wrap up the show. Thanks for watching everyone. <v Speaker 2>We will be back next Thursday with another episode. I <v Speaker 2>guess I should have masked this earlier. Do we have <v Speaker 2>a lunch song. I just thought of that so much song. Yeah, okay, <v Speaker 2>then we have another launch lunch song from Charles, another masterpiece. <v Speaker 2>I enjoyed last week's song very much. Excited to see <v Speaker 2>what you guys got this one for those stick around <v Speaker 2>everyone for that's just Charles. <v Speaker 1>Like I don't. I don't want to claim any ownership. <v Speaker 1>This is Charles's project and he does amazing. <v Speaker 2>I look at you as like his manager. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, Kyle, this only we only played Charles long songs <v Speaker 3>when you and I are both on them. <v Speaker 1>I guess that's true. <v Speaker 2>Like you said, you're the manager. <v Speaker 1>I was like, who will take an executive producer credit? <v Speaker 2>I guess okay, Yeah, you're the quincy Charles is Michael Jackson. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, not like a George Miller, babe one executive producer <v Speaker 3>where it's like a normal executive producer. <v Speaker 1>What's that part of the show we're talking about? <v Speaker 2>It's fine, all right, Well, here is Charles's latest lunch <v Speaker 2>song and we'll see you next week. But in another <v Speaker 2>episode of the game Informer show, everyone bye, this is. <v Speaker 3>A song about becoming a vegetarian. <v Speaker 5>Fair to the gibb of face, no birders, no broaders <v Speaker 5>broadlys Ocay lass nodyname with Ball, A bad party to <v Speaker 5>be Margrat <v Speaker 1>Lunch time
