00:02:40
Speaker 1: Yeah.

00:02:40
Speaker 2: Good for coffee spills one. Yeah, Big Mike Wu runs his place. Before we get into your words of wisdom, i'd give you credit moments ago when we talked about my dude, Juan Soto talking about all the joy he's playing with for the Dominican Republic and then as a met he's sort of like you when you show your hand, when you when you show people you're capable of. I think that's why we get this heartened with music bands too. Sometimes you're like, I.

00:03:05
Speaker 1: Know they can make hits, they make great songs. I've heard their other albums.

00:03:09
Speaker 5: I don't know.

00:03:09
Speaker 1: And you you were saying, men make this mistake all the time.

00:03:12
Speaker 3: They do. They set themselves a precedent. This is how I'm going to be on a daily basis. But what you're really doing is setting up expectations for failure in the future.

00:03:22
Speaker 1: You can't live up to that.

00:03:23
Speaker 2: Every singles every day, Yeah, five flowers every weekend. Yeah, you gotta set realistic expectations.

00:03:31
Speaker 1: You're right.

00:03:31
Speaker 2: And Wan Soto, he's playing at a real high level right now bringing all the excitement for the DR. Honestly, something is se don't bring that same excitement to the Mets, then you know, you know how he feels. Something as simple as the handshakes he'd give Peter Alonzo and Lindor like almost like a business shake. Congratulations on your double, Like I said, colleague versus his boys, his boys in the DR. Bring that excitement to Queen Soto. And with that said, let's bring some excitement with Mike, who runs his place.

00:04:00
Speaker 1: It's time.

00:04:03
Speaker 2: It's time for the guy that runs this place.

00:04:06
Speaker 6: Just for clarification, guys, Big Mike does not run this place.

00:04:09
Speaker 1: He is not in charge of everything. He has no power over really anybody here. He does not run this place.

00:04:15
Speaker 5: It's Big Mike's words of wisdom on a Wednesday.

00:04:19
Speaker 3: Dampire so quick to shut you down, he really is, And we've known each other for so long.

00:04:24
Speaker 1: What do you got for us today? Mike?

00:04:27
Speaker 3: Life will split your pants when you least expect it. The wise person laughs, finds a jacket and keeps walking.

00:04:39
Speaker 2: There you go, by the way, Not only is that words of wisdom, it's a real life story that happened.

00:04:43
Speaker 1: Yesterday, inspired by true life.

00:04:45
Speaker 2: Honestly, it's the best. I was like, years from now, that story's going to turn into like a whole different story. We're like, yo, and his whole ass was out and.

00:04:56
Speaker 1: Both cheeks out.

00:04:57
Speaker 2: It was crazy man. Yesterday Mike got up and which was like, Mike, did you just split your pants?

00:05:04
Speaker 6: He had a barbed wire tattoos.

00:05:08
Speaker 2: Were sticking out, and then he dipped out and like is he going to bust out his like sweatpants in his trunk, like his old sweatpants. And he came back with a jacket and he tied it around his waist, covering his ass like like he was a hot chick. So hot chick with a Megan Fox with a fatty.

00:05:24
Speaker 1: Walked in looking like a ninth grader.

00:05:26
Speaker 2: Yeah, And it did take us back to those days, back in the day when Ernie, you know, had an accident. Oh yeah, Ernie. Ernie would go down to the nurse's office, they.

00:05:36
Speaker 1: Said, Tom Miles Davis.

00:05:37
Speaker 2: They dip into the lost and found and Ernie would come back with a pair of like nineteen seventies checkered pants whenever they had left over.

00:05:46
Speaker 1: Man, Ernie got those pants. He had an accident.

00:05:49
Speaker 2: They've corrected this since, meaning, Danny g you'll see it soon, if not already. I know you have your little son CoA. They have every kid at the beginning of the year, bring up, bring in, back up, cloak and a big back in the day you were humility, you would bust out like pants from the seventies that they had lying around and Lost and found. Why did Mike come back back? Why didn't mikey come back to class with bell bottoms on you those those Rodney Dangerfield regular guy pants. You'd be wearing those checkered old school golf pants back into the classroom because you had an accident. So yesterday when Mike split his pants were like, was he gonna come back with a checkered golf pants?

00:06:26
Speaker 3: I had?

00:06:27
Speaker 2: And he came back with a with a sweat jacket tied around his waist. I have a question for you. It was so funny. I look good though I was rocking. Your wife must have roasted you though, coming back with you're ask sticking out.

00:06:39
Speaker 3: I don't know what you're talking about.

00:06:40
Speaker 2: Man, you know the opposite, Mike, can you read it one more time? We'll get a winner. The numbers eight seven seven, Read it Fox.

00:06:47
Speaker 3: Remember if you can repeat this back word for word, verbatim, there's a prizing store for you, prize pack.

00:06:53
Speaker 2: Okay, let's go. Let's hear it one more time.

00:06:57
Speaker 3: Life will split your pants when you at least sticks the wise person laughs, finds a jacket and keeps walking.

00:07:07
Speaker 2: I love how Mike try to deny it too. When it happened, oh Rich, Like, honestly, I had no idea, no idea. Have you ever had a quote wardrobe malfunction, like not not saying like your niple popped out at the super Bowl, but have you ever had like a like in a moment where about any cravits. When he was rocking those leather pants and his old package came out on stage, he was what.

00:07:28
Speaker 7: Do you call it free bawling or yeah, he was going commando right and he wasn't Also, whoa I feel like we've.

00:07:36
Speaker 2: All been somewhere where it was like a spillage of food, Like you're like within within minutes of being at a restaurant he got sauce all over yourself on a big date night, or or again you split your pants. Or I remember one time when I was a teenager, Remember when the karate kid got all that spaghetti spilled on himhen he was at that really fancy flight.

00:07:54
Speaker 1: I remember that.

00:07:55
Speaker 2: I remember as a kid, I slipped in the mud once on our way to like we're all going to like the roller skating rink to try to meet girls, and on my way to my friend's parents car, I did like a whoa like slip backwards, fell in a pile of mud. It happened. Sometimes happened. Yeah, the pants split mic was classic. You should always have some sort of backup something though in your trunk.

00:08:17
Speaker 1: For sure.

00:08:18
Speaker 3: I'm gonna start doing that now.

00:08:19
Speaker 2: Yeah, at least Mike had a jacket. Was so fine, and they were like leave they were like LEVI jeans.

00:08:24
Speaker 3: No, they were good. Split him.

00:08:26
Speaker 2: His ass was out yesterday, all right, So lucky he had a lucky He uses dude wipes so eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox, if you could repeat Mike's words of wisdom word for word, verbatim, We'll hook you up with a CNUR prize pack, some Nerve footballs, Mini Nerf balls, and some koozies and cool stuff like that. Well, let me uh, let me transition seek to uh something I'm excited about. We talked about March being here, which means madness bro which means the March Badness started Baseball World Baseball Classic. And if that wasn't enough, I have been pulled in.

00:09:06
Speaker 1: It's official.

00:09:07
Speaker 2: You know, call me a fool, call me a sucker, but I now want to watch flag football in Saudi Arabia. Tom Brady trash talking with Logan Paul has somehow pulled me in because remember like a week ago that there was like a sit down interview and Tom Brady questioned Logan Paul's athleticism, like yeah, you do WWF stuff. Ww that's cute. We assume like there's some there's some reasoning behind, there's some gimmick in this, some gimmick involved some some you know, we did debate like whether or not Logan Paul was a great athlete compared to guys like Tom Brady.

00:09:46
Speaker 1: Well, I mean talk about age.

00:09:48
Speaker 2: Talk about flag football versus NFL football is a big difference. But Tom Brady is now leaning in and he's talking smack.

00:09:57
Speaker 3: That's what Logan Paul is. He's an entertainer. He has own a lot of skills in those combat sports.

00:10:04
Speaker 2: But the actually he's I.

00:10:07
Speaker 3: Don't know, I just don't know. I don't know.

00:10:09
Speaker 7: If he's got the.

00:10:10
Speaker 1: Big boys, you're lucky you won't get hit.

00:10:13
Speaker 2: So obviously you hear Gronk right talking about it. He's a letter, he's being diplomatic about the whole thing. And then Tom Brady comes into the cut and you hear all those beeps. All those beeps are Tom Brady calling Logan Paul the B word. And I think that smack talk does add to the intrigue, to the fun of this flag football. This I guess tournament right in Saudi Arabia.

00:10:35
Speaker 3: Oh, to be fair, it may no longer take place in Saudi Arabia. Were talking about bringing it back to the States. With everything going around in the world. I mean, I think anytime you're more invested. That's why we love twenty four to seven so much. The more you know the backstory, the better you are.

00:10:51
Speaker 2: It's really it like you need a little backstory, like, yeah, of course we know who Logan Paul is. Of course we know Tom Brady. But when you start seeing like what they're about, when you know owe them a little more personal, when you hear them talking trash, you you feel more invested. Anything that gets you to feel more invested is good for the sport, good for a game. And I think there's intrigue here because also, uh.

00:11:12
Speaker 1: Well, what's the who's the guy that's the.

00:11:13
Speaker 2: Number one fan of our show? He used to host pros Versus Joe's. Oh, Petros our number one fan. Oh he loves our, She loves petrust in money. Yeah, we love Petros. Loves both nice fellas, very funny guys. Petros. That was a great show he used to host. Remember pros Versus Joe's great And you would get an idea of what a regular buffoon would look like if he tried to just play one on one against an NBA retired star or someone try to run a route against. I don't think it Ogan palls that regular buffoon by any means. By what means he deep Floyd Mayweather junior. He's doing moon salts off the top rope in WWE. His athletics levels to athleticism. His athleticism is off the charts, which is why I think it is interesting to see a forty something you a mid forty closer to fifty. Tom Brady verse in his physical prime logan Paul, this is not tackle football. This is not college or NFL. This is flag football. And I see my daughter and my kids play flag football. Now right there's teenagers that I'm not sure if they know how to rap and tackle or do anything, but when you're playing flag football, it's about athleticism, jumping, leaping speed.

00:12:20
Speaker 1: These kids Calabasas high.

00:12:22
Speaker 2: School, there's different skill level involved, there's different skills, a different skill set avoiding, you know, just someone ripping your flag out like Danny. There's a you know, not just my little kids playing flag football. When I walk on that field, I see the teenage division and there's kids that are making Odell Beckham junior type catchers and they're flinging the ball without the pads, without tackling. With all that, I think you're seeing teenagers and young high school kids like showing off a different skill set. It's flag football. It's not NFL football, it's not tackle football. So not only that, there's so much momentum with flag football, party is growing. It's exciting they.

00:13:02
Speaker 1: Should put it in the.

00:13:04
Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean maybe, well, I think that's I think that's part of it though, Like we've also accepted, like, yeah, fight football is pretty cool.

00:13:10
Speaker 1: You know what it's like.

00:13:11
Speaker 6: Remember we saw the Pro wiffle Ball League guys throw to the MLB broadcaster's former MLB players and they were having trouble with the pitches. Because it's different. It's obviously similar, but it's different.

00:13:23
Speaker 2: I'm not listen, I believe I'm I'm brainwashed to believe that Tom Brady could do anything. I'm a Tom Brady fan, I really am. I think I think I like this Tom Brady better than the player Tom Brady. I feel like he's a motivational, like really good dude, like a role model to young people growing to see the human sign of Tom Brady, you know, flaws and all. I think Tom Brady's a did you see him on that car ride with his kid that's gone viral too, I don't know, Just like you said, he's been more humanized that happened even before he was out of the league, So it's hard for me to think, oh, come on, do you think Logan Paul is going to compete with Tom Brady? But then again, I'm Brady has the most accurate arm, probably in this whole tournament, but he's also almost fifty. Logan Paul is fast and quick, and whoever they team him up with, there is also the catch there, like like, who's Logan Paul partnered up with? Kay Rain says that Paul is six to around two hundred pounds and and time that four seven forty. He's that fast. He's a good athlete. We downplay because he's at social media buffoon, but Logan and Jake Paul are both athletes. It's undeniable. I think that he could compete, and I think a lot of decent athletes could probably compete and hold their own, but I don't think that they could compete on an elite level. I think, like you knows, as your boy Macho man and Randy Savage said, the kream does rise to the top here. I think he can compete, but I don't think he wins. Do you remember when Tyson Fury, who I've ever metched Meyer. He's going to be getting back in the ring out of retirement, right, Remember he fought was it Inganu?

00:14:58
Speaker 1: Yeah?

00:14:58
Speaker 2: Who Frances and Ghanu is a lifetime UFC former champion.

00:15:02
Speaker 1: Like a big man.

00:15:04
Speaker 2: When he boxed against Tyson Fury, I remember the sentiment was, I mean, Tyson Ferry's gonna whoop his ass and Gon who's a bad man.

00:15:11
Speaker 1: But he's a UFC guy.

00:15:12
Speaker 2: Tyson Fury is a heavyweight champion, one of the best of the last fifty years arguably, and Gan who like it was a draw argument Tyson Furry got to win, but you could argue that.

00:15:22
Speaker 1: Was a draw.

00:15:24
Speaker 2: What if Logan Paul shocks us and whoops Tom Brady? Flag football? Would that be disappointing for everyone or everyone? Or is that good?

00:15:31
Speaker 3: It's disappointing, but it's it's unlikely. But it's flag football. It's not actual football.

00:15:39
Speaker 1: So Tom Brady's excuse, like, well it's not football.

00:15:42
Speaker 3: Well you're asking you, you're saying that'll be tom Brady's excuse, like he's gonna need one. I don't think he's gonna need one.

00:15:48
Speaker 2: I think he's he's got faster his I think it's I think Tom Brady's forty is better now. He's better now than it was at the combine, right when he was younger.

00:15:58
Speaker 1: Who could run a faster route and be more thought at it? Right now?

00:16:00
Speaker 2: I'm being serious, right flag football? Gronk or Logan pol me, big.

00:16:05
Speaker 3: Mike, All right, I'll take myself out of it.

00:16:10
Speaker 2: Do you think Gronk or Logan Pohl could run a better route in flag football? Well, run a better route or run a faster round, a faster route catch though you got to catch the ball too. The difference is, you know, Gronk obviously could barrel over a few people and take that hit, which is unnecessary, unnecessary in flag football.

00:16:25
Speaker 1: So I get what Rich is saying, like it might be well, yeah.

00:16:28
Speaker 3: But has been running routes his entire life.

00:16:31
Speaker 1: You could argue a Tyree.

00:16:34
Speaker 2: You could argue a Tyreek kill would be the best flag football player of all time, because if speed and catching a ball is the number one skill in running routes, there's no tackling, there's no breaking tackles, the no you know, no yak yards after the catch. It's simply flag football. I'm so intrigued. So if they didn't pump you up. Maybe I did a little bit because now I'm so intrigued to see, well, the greatest NFL players and some of these legends. We'll just athletic influencer types compete. Play football is the wave of the future. Man, gonna be a thing, all right. I want to get a contestant giveaway price here, see if they can get Mike's words of wisdom, and then we'll get to midweek Major with Io Salmon a little bit eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox. This is for a Coveno on Rich prize pack. We do this every Wednesday. If you could repeat it word for word.

00:17:23
Speaker 3: You win.

00:17:25
Speaker 1: Who do we got? Let's go to Matt in Pennsylvania.

00:17:28
Speaker 3: Yo, Matt hey.

00:17:28
Speaker 2: Man on Coveno on Rich. What up, buddy?

00:17:31
Speaker 8: How you doing?

00:17:31
Speaker 1: Hey, Bud?

00:17:34
Speaker 8: I am I ready to just go?

00:17:35
Speaker 5: Or hold on?

00:17:36
Speaker 2: You know, let it, let it, let it establish your music mirror name. You're sorry, I'm sorry whenever you're ready.

00:17:41
Speaker 8: Buddy, Life will split your pants when you least expect it. The wise person laughs, finds a jacket and keeps walking.

00:17:51
Speaker 2: You. All you gotta do, all you gotta do is really just listen and repeat Mike's wisdom and then you go, you want a prize he gets, you.

00:18:00
Speaker 1: Get their football.

00:18:01
Speaker 2: Not as easy as he made it.

00:18:02
Speaker 1: You get coozies. You can strip up one word and you lose. You know, Fox Sports Radio goodies. Matt, appreciate you listening about anybody. Yeah, Matt, hang on the lotet. Great job.

00:18:12
Speaker 2: And we do this every Wednesday plus midweek Major which is coming up. And again, Rich, I hate to give you the old cliche, but styles make fights, right, Styles and matchups or everything and fighting and in flag football and everything that we witness and you mentioned in Ghanu Fury. Remember what happened to in Ghana when you got in the ring with Anthony Joshua. He got his ass beat like big time, like bad. He looks silly, you.

00:18:39
Speaker 1: Know, I'll be honest.

00:18:40
Speaker 2: You mean, I saw something once and I'm not saying this will always happen, but just to show you, if you take someone out of the element in which they dominate just a little bit, it might make a difference. I've seen I've played in like some charity events where I've seen Major League Baseball players playing like a charity softball game and they like pop up because it's not you know.

00:19:00
Speaker 1: Their game. It's not their game.

00:19:01
Speaker 2: So you like like you would think, like, oh, come on, you get you know, you put mookie bets or someone in a mookie Bets is a bad example because I think that guy could do anything right. Yeah, but you take someone out of their specialty and I'm not quite sure there's dominant as you think, well, that's what makes this interesting, that is what makes it fun, all right, but props I want to give props.

00:19:21
Speaker 1: Okay, Cara Logan.

00:19:22
Speaker 2: Paul, he's in the game of antics and getting people to watch and marketing events. He's good at that. Tom Brady calling him a bee leaning into it. You gotta give him credit for this, and it's like angry competitive tom Brady and it's like, yeah, yeah, look at Paul. You're all the credit to Tom Brady honestly, not that he needs anymore. But the guy's awesome. He's great. I tip my hat to Tom Brady because you're right, Rich. Now I'm pulled in even more. Thank you, Tom, Well, thank you Tommy. Here's what we got coming up midweek major Sammy, Sammy.

00:19:57
Speaker 1: Oh way, I have last point, Rich.

00:20:00
Speaker 2: Trash talking always works, Yeah, always works, that's true. You know if you want people to be interested, talk some trash. It always the drama level of things, especially in today's world, always builds intrigue. People love drama.

00:20:13
Speaker 1: Dude.

00:20:14
Speaker 2: Hey, I'll give you a one sotal low five for that one. All right, I was Sammy boy is gonna be doing Midweek Major next. I know he's got his stories lined up. 00:23:48
Speaker 8: Say, that's summit.

00:23:49
Speaker 5: We definitely madre cn our score Midweek Major.

00:23:55
Speaker 6: Ah yeah, all right, to give our boy Sam, who's filling in for spot Spot speed of recovery there at home. He's gonna have about nine minutes, which I feel like is two minutes too long.

00:24:08
Speaker 1: But first we rolled the two big red love dice to the main studio. I just rolled an eleven, So good luck there, Rich, you beat that, Dicky do it all one first? All right? You got three back acking in you can't win.

00:24:22
Speaker 3: You got.

00:24:24
Speaker 1: Rich is busy on his phone over there. Who are you texting?

00:24:27
Speaker 3: Rich?

00:24:28
Speaker 1: I asked him the same thing earlier today.

00:24:31
Speaker 2: Angry Mets fans talking about soda.

00:24:33
Speaker 6: All right, and now the most famous person besides Brian Bell of Weezer from Iowa City, Iowa what Iowa Sam?

00:24:41
Speaker 2: Yeah, say boy Sam Sam Sam Sam Tip, Sam Sam Sam Tip.

00:24:47
Speaker 7: I didn't know that about Weezer Sam back into that. Guys, Uh, let's start with baseball. I believe you touched on this briefly yesterday. Let's start with baseball. Actually, no baseball for you. That's what Major League Baseball said to Atlanta Braves designated hitter Jerikson Profar this week after he failed a second performance enhancing drug tests in the past year. Profar tested positive for exagenous testosterone and its metabolites. Here's what Profar is missing out on as part of his upcoming punishment, which takes effect Friday, banned one hundred and sixty two games in the regular season, no postseason play, no participation in the upcoming World Baseball Classic, and fifteen million dollars of his salary forfeited.

00:25:30
Speaker 2: Profar not so good Midweek or major. Oh, this is major. This is shame on you, Profar. This is fool me once. He can't be fooled again. This dude was suspended last year and sacrificed a lot of money. This is the entire season, sacrifices an entire year's worth the salary he had. I think it was like total over twenty something million dollars. He doesn't get to represent in the WBC like, what a fool dude? Like you got once and you do it again. My goodness, this guy deserves everything he's getting. It's a shame, but he deserves it. Any confusion maybe, like remember wasn't a Fernando Tatist Junior that when he got he got caught, he said.

00:26:12
Speaker 1: Oh, is a hair product or something tainted meat?

00:26:14
Speaker 2: For sure? Yeah, I feel like there's gotta be Remember when Ryan Garcia got caught and he said, no it was It's not true, it's bad burrito.

00:26:22
Speaker 3: Yeah.

00:26:22
Speaker 1: Is is he denying?

00:26:25
Speaker 3: He has?

00:26:25
Speaker 7: He said he'd never willing or like, you know, do that knowingly putting something illegal, using something illegal in his body.

00:26:32
Speaker 2: So he's denying it. But and again it was a forty two million, three year deal through twenty twenty seven, and he lost half of it last year, I believe, and loses the entire thing this year. It's a damn shame, is what it is. Can you like, how do you sleep at night leaving that much money on the table? My sorry, it was by Flintstone Vitamins, I tell you how seriously. It's definitely major only because he's a guy that could have made an impact and Atlanta Braves fans got to be bummed because this is a guy that's a I was always a fan of profile when he was with the Padres. I feel like he was a great role player on that team. And Yo, tough luck, Braves, sorry bravo. And then you miss a whole year on top of it, not only are you letting your entire team down, your family, you're letting your whole self down. You're gonna look back at that stat line, your baseball car and look back his family, his kids, his grandkids, Grandpa.

00:27:20
Speaker 1: Pro far Papito.

00:27:21
Speaker 2: What happened in twenty twenty six? Oh, I mean, I'm doing better to share the news, but I got quot cheating again.

00:27:28
Speaker 7: Exogen Gampa, exogynist, justtostrone and it's metabolites.

00:27:33
Speaker 2: Seriously, dude, like he just ruined his whole stats and everything about it.

00:27:36
Speaker 1: I closed my eyes.

00:27:37
Speaker 2: I thought that was like real audio from the future.

00:27:39
Speaker 1: I'm sorry, I let you down. Ay ya, yai, Papito, I can't believe it.

00:27:44
Speaker 2: Horrible man, all right, it is horrible. Let's press on how he missed a year and a half. His creepy I don't love yess me. I would love to hear it being that he can't play for the next hundred and sixty two games. What about a weekend show here on Fox Sports Radio, Profar and his grandson b How does he? How does he justify that when his little grand kids are looking at the back of the car, I get that half the year he missed and then the other not to mention all that money you'll shaved our family, Grandpa. That's embarrassing though.

00:28:12
Speaker 7: All right, let's stick with baseball and talk about Max Clark, the number three overall pick in twenty twenty three, who has been working his way up the ranks for the Detroit Tigers. Apparently, this guy's drip really bothers people. Clark rocks several diamond chains as part of this drip, but his drip really bothers people when he's got the drops. Clark had a few drops Monday when his Tigers played the Braves in a spring training game. Clark was already getting a bit of guff from the TV broadcasters over his look, but then he dropped two fly balls in the first inning and people were just sick of his whole get up, giving him crap online. Apparently the chains, the chains he wears are making him a worse at baseball. That's what the critics would have you believe. After his rough outing, Clark brushed off the criticism. Max Clark, mister bling, leave him alone Midweek or Major.

00:28:57
Speaker 2: I think this is another major story. They don't compliment each other like that drip really stands out in a negative way when you make pair drops. Yeah, like you can't be you know, as they say in this article around this clip, you got to hit first, flex later, you know what I mean? Like this guy hasn't sniffed the big leagues and he's strutting around like that. And I hate to be that old school guy, but that those sort of antics would have never flown back in the day, Like I'm coming here with that kind of swag when you haven't proved anything yet. And not only did he prove, if anything, he proved that he's not a good fielder. And it's just it's a worse look when it's that flashy. Hees four diamond chains by the way, the Major listen, whatever you want to call it, style, drip, swag, branding, whatever it is, I feel like I'm fine with it. It's earned and it can't be a distraction. Those are two things can't be distracting and earned. I always think the funniest thing, and I think this is very relatable. Have you ever played pickup sports? It could be softball, basketball. The guy that comes out with all the extra gear, you better be good.

00:30:00
Speaker 1: You can't.

00:30:01
Speaker 2: You can't come to a pool, you can't go to a pool table at a bar, break out your own pool queue at a glove and then stink. You can't be a softball player with an elbow guard and stink like you got a Matt. This guy came out like he's uh Deon Sanders or something. He had four Like he looks like mister t and look at it. I'm not exaggerating, not joking, like it's ridiculous. Man, You've got to you gotta deliver.

00:30:24
Speaker 1: Maybe he got a deal on the home shopping network. I don't know.

00:30:27
Speaker 7: You guys are the bigger baseball experts than are better baseball experts.

00:30:30
Speaker 1: Than I am.

00:30:31
Speaker 7: Is it normal for a top five pick to still be working his way up? I mean, like to the there's a major league team.

00:30:38
Speaker 1: I think a number three pick number the a RELV for the Tigers.

00:30:41
Speaker 7: A couple of years ago. But he's you know, that's one of the reasons normal.

00:30:44
Speaker 2: I was saying why Kyler Murray chose football, Because in football and basketball, if you're a prospect, you are in the bigs. You make it to the big show quick baseball, sometimes the top pitcher, the number one.

00:30:55
Speaker 1: So I'm wondering, is it normal? Is he on the right trajectory? I think I think it is.

00:30:58
Speaker 6: Yeah.

00:30:58
Speaker 2: You could a lot of times you squander away, but you waste a couple of years along the way.

00:31:03
Speaker 1: Getting the reps. Right.

00:31:04
Speaker 2: I mean, yeah, but you don't need this sort of negative attention, right because it's all gonna come back to that. If a young player like this, even with all that iblack, he has the Bryce Harper remember when Bryce Harper used to wear it like that back in his college days. You know, you could make two errors like that and they're like, ah, man, get him next time. But when you're super flashy like that, you're just bringing so much more attention to yourself.

00:31:23
Speaker 1: Agreed, All right, guys.

00:31:25
Speaker 7: Big trade in the NFL today, the Chiefs have traded as sending All Pro cornerback Trent McDuffie to the LA Rams for four draft picks, including the number twenty nine overall selection in this upcoming NFL draft. The former Husky is entering the final season of his rookie contract and is expected to sign a long term deal with the Rams. And you know, the rams unofficial team building motto FM picks the Rams will make a trade with you and use the draft to do so. After all, they've only made one first round pick since twenty seventeen, that was Jared Version twenty twenty four. But several members of the Chiefs seem to be caught off guard by the move, including quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who simply wrote damn dot dot on twin the Chief's parting Ways of the Budding young Star Midweek or major.

00:32:04
Speaker 2: Major only because well really makes it major? Is is? I think how public Mahomes made it like damn didn't even this one word? It says a lot in my opinion, was that word again, damn damn damn damn damn because it seems like, wow, that's that's a tough loss. I'm mad about this. Like you want your guy, Patrick Mahomes. I'm not saying he has to be in the know of everything, but as the leader of your team, you also don't want to feel like you're the last to know, and you want to keep your players happy.

00:32:36
Speaker 1: I think it's not.

00:32:38
Speaker 2: I don't think it's maybe mid mid I'll tell you what, because listen, a lot of teams do this. They you know, he's a he's a star cornerback man. They got to look longer term beyond Kelsey and some of these guys, and maybe they're thinking, all right, Mahomes is going to be here for a while hopefully, So if we can get a ton of draft equity for a guy that's good.

00:32:57
Speaker 1: Maybe do it.

00:32:57
Speaker 2: I mean, the Rams are like win now that Chiefs are probably thinking we've won, Yeah, but you want to win again in a couple of years. I get that they get multiple picks, including a twenty twenty six first rounder, right, but those aren't always guarantees this guy's approven bona fide. I know you're playing around the salary cap and you're and you're looking at the future. I think it's a solid move for both teams. Really, all right, one more quick one. Let's do it.

00:33:22
Speaker 7: Guys. It's working out for Doug gollibin Green Bay.

00:33:25
Speaker 2: You're doing it, Dougie, you're doing I saw.

00:33:27
Speaker 7: This to quote hook last night The Green Bay Phoenix defeated Perdue Fort Wayne sixty four fifty six in Green Bay to win the program's first Horizon League Conference Excuse me got for CLEMP?

00:33:38
Speaker 2: There, I got for Clemp for Doug. Oh, but you're a best.

00:33:42
Speaker 7: So the Phoenix beat of Purdue Fort Wayne sixty four to fifty six in Green Bay last night to win the program's first Rising League Conference tournament game in five years. Doug's Phoenix so far have improved from four wins last year to eighteen this year and possibly more to come, including a solid twelve and eight mark in the league, good for a third place finish. The Gottlieb haters were out in full force last year, pitchforks and torches in hand, but many have since gone home. Doug Gottlieb can coach college basketball midweek or major.

00:34:13
Speaker 2: I think that's major, I really do. I think we see a guy bet on himself and he's doing big things over there. From four wins to eighteen wins. You know what I'm seeing in his future? Shit ching, you know you're proven that you could coach on that level. I think he's going to see a really sweet payday moving forward. I was gonna say, don't make any big real estate investments, Doug, because you're going to get a big gig somewhere, bigger soon.

00:34:36
Speaker 1: And yeah, grats to him.

00:34:37
Speaker 2: You know what, Sam, I can feel it in you that you you miss him yelling at you behind the scenes he miss It depends on the day you miss him putting you down.

00:34:43
Speaker 1: I get it.

00:34:44
Speaker 2: It puts today. But uh, you know, I'm happy to see his success eighteen. Yeah, that's big. I wish him will man, I'll be honest. I mean why because it was it was looking it was a yeah, but it was you know what, as I saw his quote, which is like, we're building this you could watch from or come here and be part of it. And you know what, good for Gottlieb. You gotta call it like it is. And he's doing well. So congrats, it's working like you said.

00:35:07
Speaker 1: All right, that's all she wrote. Thank you. I was saying, let's say I was a glory crown for an update.

00:35:12
Speaker 10: Hey, Isaac hey Fellas, former Notre Dame head coach and lou Holtz, passed away today at the age of eighty nine. Holtz went one hundred thirty and two over eleven seasons as the head coach of the Fighting Irish, including wedding the national championship in nineteen eighty eight. The AFC champion New England Patriots are releasing four time Pro Bowl receiver Stefon Diggs. The Kansas City Chiefs trading all Pro cornerback Trent McDuffie to the Los Angeles Rams for four draft picks, including a first rounder. The Dallas Cowboys restructured the contracts of quarterback Dak Prescott, receiver c d Lamb, and left guard Tyler Smith in order to get under the salary cap. ESPN reported a short time ago the Minnesota Vikings are expected to release defensive tackle Jonathan Allen, finally Cavino and Rich. In college basketball, we have a women's Sun Belt Conference tournament brawl updates OH Today's clash between South Alabama and Coastal Carolina in Pensacola, Florida was marred by a wild fourth quarter melee that saw one of the referees get knocked out. During the fray, seven South Alabama players were ejected. One Coastal Carolina player was ejected. Despite that, South Alabama still wound up winning the game eighty to seventy back to you guys.

00:36:34
Speaker 2: Not's that it matters, but the referee that got knocked out women or men.

00:36:38
Speaker 1: I was a woman, Okay, I was a woman, would have been a little Okay, that's either way.

It's Chinese Taipei versus Australia tonight, ten pm Eastern.

00:38:56
Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't think Australia has a chance.

00:39:00
Speaker 2: No, probably not. Yeah, I mean, come on, you're probably right. I have two things I want to throw out there real quick. Talking to baseball. We're we're about to get started. I don't think overrated is the right word, because he's a great dude. It's such a great ambassador to the game, a young star, or as we love to say in baseball, we always call young player stuts. They keep rating the top one hundred players. I know MLB did, at ESPN did, I'm sure Fox Sports did it. And I just saw a glimpse of the top five. Otani and Judge are always gonna be one and two, and Wit he's always so so. Number four and five were Scooball and Sodo Bobby Witt Junior. I am certainly not taking anything away from this amazing young player. Dude's got a stick and a glow. But is it is he just like the hot player to put on that in that list, like you think Bobby would Junior look at I know, but you think he's the same level as the other guys. He's the third best player, you would think.

00:39:59
Speaker 1: Bobby would You know?

00:40:01
Speaker 2: That's that's a good question because I think it's trajectory. Might these lists put that in my brain that he is well like the trajectory? Like I looked up he had twenty something home runs two ninety five last year. Great glove, great all round player playing in Kansas City.

00:40:13
Speaker 1: I get it.

00:40:14
Speaker 2: But in my mind he's top ten. But forty years in the BIGS he had twenty three home runs, twenty three songs. He had thirty two the year before. He has one hundred and five total. So he's good for like, on average, twenty five thirty home runs. Yeah, and he's batting around. He's a three hundred batter. I just think that, Uh, he's got a good glove too.

00:40:31
Speaker 1: Though. Man, perhaps people are.

00:40:32
Speaker 2: Just hot on Bobby Wood Junior as maybe this is the year where he even gets next level. So hey, keep an eye on Bobby Wood Junior. And one of the clip. I wanted to play for you guys real quick. Did you hear Bob Costas have a flub with words? Take just take a listen, Bob Costas two.

00:40:48
Speaker 1: Great yes, six.

00:40:52
Speaker 6: Think someone's gonna cut that off and it's not gonna sound right.

00:40:55
Speaker 5: It's not gonna sound right too great Richards.

00:41:00
Speaker 1: Dick with the last name beginning with an.

00:41:02
Speaker 2: E to d yes, Saul yes, and thank you whoever edits that out. Thank you Bob Costas for that gem giving trim page tribby to two as he said, two great dicks ever Sall and Edinburgh. Any other dicks you want to after that?

00:41:21
Speaker 3: Rich An?

00:41:22
Speaker 2: The other you did say Big Johnson before Weber Clark. All right, we'll see you guys, manana.

00:41:28
Speaker 1: And it is the season finale of Oh it is.

00:41:32
