00:00:01 Speaker 1: FT Live postgame show, Game five is done, Let's talk about it. The show is presented by Fox one bron Krazinski Krats and we watched rookie Treya Savage look like he's been there before. 00:00:15 Speaker 2: That was one of the most impressive rookie performances ever. 00:00:19 Speaker 3: Yeah, one of the best performances of forget rookies just like anybody ever. 00:00:27 Speaker 4: I mean, he went out and just dominated. 00:00:29 Speaker 3: And you know his numbers when he faces the team for the second time, he's what three to oh now with us basically under. 00:00:37 Speaker 4: A sub two. 00:00:38 Speaker 3: I don't know how much lower it fell tonight, but Treya Savage is the real deal for the Blue Jays if he's obviously with pitchers, it's always if they stay healthy. But this is somebody they can build on. I mean, this is a guy they can legitimate. This is the Remember when they had Alec Manoa and everyone's like, oh, this is a guy that can I mean, this guy is filthy. 00:01:00 Speaker 1: More World Series strikeouts than regular season straight he starts, I know. But the point is Kratz that he looks like he belongs in the postseason from the jump, and you often see rookies look a little shaky when they're thrown into the mix like this in the postseason, let alone the World Series. That's just not the case with this dude. Did you hear at one point, I think Berducci said most swings and misses in a World Series game since pitch tracking began in two thousand and eight. So he was fooling hitters who are already really going through it. The Dodgers offense is slump city right now, and the lineup change did nothing not. 00:01:43 Speaker 5: To change the subject to their hitting. But this is a really good hitting lineup. I get it. They were not good tonight, but like you're talking about three Hall of famers that you have to navigate through at the top of the order tonight three of the top four. I don't know where Will Smith up, but I liked the move of moving Will Smith right behind show. Hey, it's like you gotta throw strikes. So to me, I I just it was so impressive what he did tonight. 00:02:12 Speaker 4: Well Smith went through it tonight, and I'm gonna say that right now. 00:02:14 Speaker 2: Will Smith. 00:02:16 Speaker 4: Well Smith went through it defensively. 00:02:19 Speaker 1: Do you hear them freaking out about that one being called the passball? 00:02:23 Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean they kind of went over that a little bit, but Will Smith went through it tonight defensively. That was that was not his best performance defensively. But I mean Grant, I mean Snell. Snell is hard to catch. But wow, I was, I was just I just I can't get over. First of all, your savage is really good what we've seen. And two, the Dodgers can't hit, like the if Freddy Freeman and show, hey don't hit. I know Kik hit the one homer, but other than that, there is nothing going on in this line. There is no pressure. They don't even put pressure. Smoll said it best when he said, these are been easy innings. There have been no stress. Those were no stress innings. 00:03:03 Speaker 2: You know who can hit? The Blue Jays? 00:03:06 Speaker 3: Yeah, well the Blue You know what the Blue Jays did and krats sorry, but they attack you early, like first pitch, like they're like, what do we talk about, Blake Snow Like if I'm a lefty and I'm barger and I'm these guys, I'm not I'm want three swings, I'm not taking one. 00:03:21 Speaker 4: And what did they come out doing? 00:03:22 Speaker 3: They were like first strike whack, first strike whack, and they knew that. Snell said, what do you say, I need to make better for pitches my fastball. So and in their mind they're like, as soon as he throws that heater, he they scared him right off that heater early he was the first one homer and then the third one. He threw one for a homer, and before he knew it was two nothing, the game was over. And then Snow was like curveball, slider, curveball, slider, curveball, changed. 00:03:44 Speaker 4: Up curball, curveball, curveball. 00:03:45 Speaker 3: I mean except Andre Simonez everyone else. He got everybody with breaking balls. 00:03:51 Speaker 1: It's a nightmare first inning Kratz. They even threw a couple of challenges on him. They just did not want him to leave the field. John Schneider with the double first inning challenge. 00:04:01 Speaker 5: I mean back back to back challenges and the old the old mid section tag finally got him out of it. But man, like you, you just you go into it with a game plan of oh, I'm definitely gonna use my fastball, and they said three pitches in, no, you're not. If you do that, it's going to be a really short night for you. Credit to Blake Snow because we're not going to talk about it much after this one hundred and fourteen pitches. He did awesome. His first three not so much. 00:04:34 Speaker 4: Oh you know what, he did awesome. He got my luck. He got my luck. He got my luck on the last hitter of the game. 00:04:42 Speaker 2: Sixteen. 00:04:43 Speaker 3: Yeah, what a what a way to end my betting season in the positives in the regular season and in the positives in the postseason. But yes, you're right, Blake Snow was not the problem. 00:04:56 Speaker 2: It's one run, Tracy, Your Savage was the problem the. 00:05:00 Speaker 5: Whole Dodgers' offense. 00:05:01 Speaker 1: Can other teams hit that? Or is this just tip your cap? The slider and the splitter were so on. There was also I mean, there was a ton of chase. But I'm like, is this chase from an offense that's going through it or chase from a team that's looking at. 00:05:16 Speaker 2: Really a picture? I'll almost joke. 00:05:17 Speaker 1: But for the first time, you Savage didn't have his splitter last time around against the Dodgers. 00:05:23 Speaker 2: Oh shit, what's this? They didn't have it last time or he didn't have it. 00:05:28 Speaker 4: He had it tonight. 00:05:29 Speaker 2: He really had it. 00:05:30 Speaker 5: I liked what Dave Roberts said. Dave Roberts said in the one in between any talk. He said, I gotta see more aggressive swings, and because they really looked like they were flailing, So is you Savage's stuff that nasty tonight? That it was just like they were taking a slider because they thought it was going to break out of the zone and then it just is that twelve six slider and then they think the splitter is going to be the heater every single time. I mean it was, it was some. There were some flailing swings there, swings you don't normally see from the Dodgers. 00:06:06 Speaker 1: No, it's just crazy how he did this with almost no experience and you just jumped into the post. 00:06:13 Speaker 3: Sometimes what you don't know is the best thing. Sometimes if you just don't know, it's the best thing. 00:06:19 Speaker 2: I wonder if teams are going to try to replicate this. 00:06:22 Speaker 4: You gotta have special people with special stuff. Remember John lay John Lackey was a rookie. 00:06:27 Speaker 3: I remember he started Game seven in the World Series two thousand and two, was on the same team Donald. 00:06:34 Speaker 4: Remember those guys. 00:06:35 Speaker 3: But you got to have a special, special guy that was able to do this and start. I know there's been relievers that have come up fin again, right fin again with the Royals, that one year. But it's hard to find rookies, especially with no big league experience, like he had to come in and do this. But they nailed the makeup, they nailed the stuff, and man, the Dodgers gotta just they gotta, they gotta. I don't know if they if take take the day off, don't touch a bat. 00:07:02 Speaker 4: I don't know. Find a voodoo, I don't know. 00:07:05 Speaker 3: Something I find anything as shaman when they go to Toronto, I mean anything they can find to try to get their bats going. Because right now the Blue Jays not only is there their pitching dominating, but they just look like the better team. The Blue Jays look like the better team. 00:07:19 Speaker 6: In every past they d They play tight d Yeah, Barger made a great play in the bottom of the six and then actually I mean ran the bass as well as soon as he saw something. 00:07:30 Speaker 3: But they put But the Blue Jays put the ball in play, which we always talk about. 00:07:33 Speaker 4: They put the ball in play for power. 00:07:35 Speaker 3: They run the bases, they don't make mistakes defensively right they're pitching, they throw strikes, they don't walk a ton of guys. This is a really good team. They had the best record in the American League for a reason. I just think everyone looked and said, well, the Dodgers are the Dodgers. Eventually, they're just gonna just figure out away. But right now, the Blue Jays one through twenty six, it look like the better roster in this World Series. 00:07:56 Speaker 1: And we give the contact credit. We see plenty of that. So we're tied for eleventh. 00:08:01 Speaker 3: In Homer's I said, they contact with power, especially in this and they you know what, and you can't. 00:08:06 Speaker 4: You can't. 00:08:08 Speaker 3: You can't quantify this. And I think this is why it drives analytics people crazy. They get big hits, man, they just get they. 00:08:16 Speaker 4: Just right crats. 00:08:17 Speaker 3: Like you watch these games and don't you have the feeling like Ernie Clement comes up first and third and smells carving everybody. You know, he's gonna put the ball in play and hit the sackfly er, you know. Or Andre Simenez off the lefty yesterday just flays the ball over the shortstops head for k not. Like they just come up with these hits and they're just bone crushing for the Dodgers because it's two outs and RB they just don't leave the guys on base. 00:08:44 Speaker 5: That's the key. They Yeah, But why Why did they come up with the hits? Why did they come up with the hits and the Dodgers didn't tonight because the Dodgers were swinging and missing. Teams that don't come up with the big hits rarely is it because man, we just we ground into a lot of double plays. No, it's usually the fact that you're swinging and missing. Maybe not with two outs, maybe not in that situation, but you're not getting the runner over when the guy's on second and he advanced there on a wild pitch. Putting the ball in play is such a such a superpower in the game now. Before it wasn't a superpower. Before it was like you're supposed to put the ball in play. I've heard AJ say it countless times. I hated striking out. Striking out was embarrassing, like you don't want to strike out. And I think the game has allowed it to be a little bit more okay. And the Blue Jays are like, no, you know what, it's not okay. We're gonna go ahead and do this as a team. And they've done it and they haven't shied away from it, and it's got them one win away from a World Series. Championship. 00:09:55 Speaker 1: I also saw some people pointing out strikeout numbers heading into this game, being close with the the Dodgers. In the Blue Jays, there was an eighteen ninning game or half their lineup was out, and that struck out a lot. So let's wipe that start away, please. But I do want to bring up to Oscar Hernandez and his defense. This defense MLB nine inning twenty five shown off swaggy cards. But in this case, we got to talk about what happened with Tao in right field? 00:10:22 Speaker 2: Should he be diving for. 00:10:24 Speaker 5: That base ball? 00:10:25 Speaker 4: The ball can't give by you? 00:10:26 Speaker 1: Okay, too many mistakes defensively and with someone like him, do you think he should be playing it safe more often? 00:10:34 Speaker 5: Okay? Just Matt Matt Holiday rule. People say, oh, you know, I don't know if he's going to be good in left field or not. Matt Holliday played left field for a long time, and Matt Holliday, the best thing that he would do he kept the ball in front. Anything in the gap is when he was more aggressive anything down the line. What he was he was making sure he was taking that deeper route where he's going to make sure he behind the ball The reason you don't die for that ball in tail is because there's nobody packing you up. And he knew it as soon as he dove instead of trying to take that route. And it's it's just something. I mean, you got to make that decision. And I'm not saying I'm a good outfielder. I'm saying the fundamentals there. That was a very much like last year. The Dodgers were like, Oh, we knew this team was gonna not make some fundamental plays. We just had to put the ball in play. That was an unfundamental play by a right fielder that unfortunately for him, he's not the best right field he's a left fielder playing right field. He's got a good arm. 00:11:37 Speaker 1: Massive difference in right fielders between the Dodgers and the Blue Jays defensively. 00:11:42 Speaker 3: But yeah, he tried to make a play. He can't fault the guy. He shouldn't have done it. No, but he tried to make a play for his pitcher. Okay, funny and led to another run. 00:11:51 Speaker 4: But again that's the. 00:11:52 Speaker 3: Why they lost. 00:11:53 Speaker 4: They lost because they can't hit. 00:11:57 Speaker 3: What is it in the last twenty nine innings and this is including win they had to win in extra innings. They're hitting one sixty eight in twenty nine nings with twenty nine punchouts in four runs. That's in over three games worth the action. I mean they did win the game because Freddy hit the home run. Well were They're one swing away from this series being over in the next ter inning game. I mean, I want to ask you about it that it would have been. It was an as it would have been an ass all time ask kicking by the Jays. If they win the eighteen inning games, then do do what they just did. People believe they look like and say, man, there's a huge upset in an. 00:12:32 Speaker 1: Ass one right, it was a yami complete game and four others in favor of Toronto, but instead it's three to two. I do want to ask you about the eighteen inning game. Quick shout out to the two thousand plus watching live right now. It's cool if you subscribe to us. Just a little ask, just a three second ask. That's all baseball the way it should be covered. That's the back of some of the new shirts on foul Territory shop dot com. That's all two hundred and eighty thousand subs, just trying to get to more trying to get this out to more humans working hard two shows a day. Okay, eighteen in a game. Do you think it affects one team differently? It doesn't even matter anymore from a couple of matter. 00:13:09 Speaker 3: But what do we say at the time, It's the World Series? 00:13:12 Speaker 4: You move on, right? 00:13:13 Speaker 3: Remember in twenty eighteen when the Red Sox lost the eighteen. 00:13:16 Speaker 4: In a game and it was like, oh the Dodgers, of all the momentum. 00:13:18 Speaker 3: What happened? The Red Sox came back and won the series quickly. Well, this is the same thing we saw it. It's flipped around. The Dodgers won the eighteen in a game on a walkoff Homer and the Blue Jays have done exactly what the Red Sox did too. 00:13:31 Speaker 4: And flipped it. 00:13:32 Speaker 3: It's it's pretty amazing. And also, I don't want to hear about they talked about tonight, the team that the sweep in the seven game, the rest, the rest, the rest? 00:13:41 Speaker 2: How about this? 00:13:42 Speaker 3: The Blue Jays are better, playing better right now? Like, what's the rest have to do with the fact they swept and the Blue Jays had to play seven? Trust me, if it was up to the Blue Jays, they would have liked to have swept too and had the time off. 00:13:51 Speaker 1: Yeah, not playing Bonanza the American League Championship series. Yeah yeah, they had to hustle in that one, and they both had multiple days off. 00:13:59 Speaker 2: That's not a thing. 00:14:02 Speaker 1: When the road team takes Game five in the series is noted. At two, Jason Stark posted that team win has won five fifteen of the last nineteen. 00:14:12 Speaker 2: Doesn't turn anything to you. So you win that game five, take a three too. 00:14:17 Speaker 4: Imagine Johnson two oh man. 00:14:20 Speaker 1: I was saving that for the end. But what did Magic Johnson's social media admin say. 00:14:26 Speaker 3: The series is tied to two crowds. A team that wins tonight really takes control of the series or what did he say? 00:14:33 Speaker 2: It was something like that, I'm getting it for you because Kevin. 00:14:36 Speaker 4: Whichever team's win take control. 00:14:39 Speaker 1: I'll read it for the last but the series being two to two, Game five is very important. Whichever team takes wins takes control of the series. And then Kevin Gossman, who is a pitcher on the Blue Jays in this current world series, posted something from Zoolander Kids. It was a really funny movie from back in the day, and it's Will Faire All going absolutely right, And. 00:15:03 Speaker 4: That's not will Fair. Let's move on right right, Yeah, it's not will Fare. It's got to dar leak my balls. 00:15:10 Speaker 5: Got's gotta be This has gotta be at least twice its size. 00:15:16 Speaker 4: Yeah, you can dare leak my balls? What is one of the all time. 00:15:21 Speaker 2: Great ballpark for ants? 00:15:23 Speaker 4: What is this. 00:15:26 Speaker 3: Anyway? 00:15:27 Speaker 4: Hansel is so hot right now, It's so hot. 00:15:30 Speaker 1: I'm crying while we're just silly for a moment. I was in tears at one point when it appeared that late in the game the dream was over. 00:15:39 Speaker 2: Louis, I don't know. 00:15:43 Speaker 4: He can't. 00:15:44 Speaker 2: He's gonna be rusty on. 00:15:47 Speaker 1: Yeah, he might start think he's pitching aside tonight after the game crass. 00:15:53 Speaker 5: Hey, hey, I need to I need to get some work in. I needed to get work in. Somebody stay after And hey, Kirk, can you run down to the bullpen and catch my catch my my flat ground? 00:16:09 Speaker 2: I have one for you. 00:16:10 Speaker 1: Serious, back to serious. George Springer has missed the last couple of games. He almost pinched ran tonight, and that sounds like. 00:16:18 Speaker 3: That was that was to get bow off his feet, just to see where he was at. I don't I don't think they play him. I I mean they're gonna he's gonna fight like Kell Toby in the lineup on on Friday Night. 00:16:29 Speaker 4: I just I don't know. 00:16:31 Speaker 3: I like the way the defense lines up with I KF. And I like the fact that Bobashet swinging the sally. I mean he is swinging that. 00:16:39 Speaker 4: Thing right now. 00:16:42 Speaker 3: George line Drive, I said, he's gonna play if he wants to. But I just really like with Bow as the d H and then you have I KF as a second baseman, that's a solid defense. 00:16:50 Speaker 1: They even left I KF got hot first date of the World Series, made it six to one. 00:16:56 Speaker 4: Eight, It's still it still goes back to this George hit lost. 00:17:01 Speaker 1: Wait but question question they might not need much offense in the next one at Yama motive, which we'll talk about in one second, but real quick, Kratz, you're John Schneider. George Springer goes up to you and says, I'm good to go, which George Springer would say even if he's at two percent. But he goes, I'm good to go. Is he in your starting lineup for Game six? If you think he's technically good to go but will not be himself swinging the bat. I mean, you tell me difference between a knee issue and a side issue. 00:17:35 Speaker 2: They're calling it side. 00:17:36 Speaker 3: It's oblique, right, It's got to be an oblique. 00:17:39 Speaker 5: I'm sure he got some type of some type of numbing agent to try to go and hit with it. And I need to see him hit to make the decision. I need to see him hit. If I like what I see, he's in the lineup. He's in the lineup. I don't know how else. I don't know how else to say it. Sorry, Gosmin, you might not have the best defense out there. George is gonna He's gonna get some swings off. That's that's it. I don't see. I don't see any way around it. That's not why they lost the eighteen inning game because he was out. They would have won that had he had an opportunity to hit again healthy. So if he can swing it, he's in. Okay. 00:18:25 Speaker 1: Let's officially spin it forward. The Blue Jays lead the series three to two. First off, what are flights like for each side? 00:18:34 Speaker 4: Dodgers are veterans. I'll be fine. The Blue Jays are living it up right now. 00:18:39 Speaker 2: They're raging on the flight I. 00:18:40 Speaker 4: Don't know they're raging, but they're they're they're living it up. We've had are they might better? What are they both flying tonight because some teams waiting until the next morning to fly out. 00:18:49 Speaker 2: Fly tonight. 00:18:50 Speaker 3: I mean I would rather fly and get there. I was always my thing, like, just get me there and then if I can get my sleep, if I need to fall sleep on the plane, and then when I get there and sleep instead of I'm gonna stay another night in a hotel or even at home, and then I just always wanted to get there. But with the flights right now, the Blue Jays are feeling it. I mean they're not having a full rager, but they're feeling it. And the Dodgers are like, ah, we're gonna look around. We got all these veteran dudes. We don't have a lot of young kids. We got all these veteran guys. Just got Yamamoto in game six. Hopefully he continues to pitch the way he has and then he got glass now and hopefully a full little bullpen for game seven. 00:19:26 Speaker 5: I've been on both flights. Yeah, I've been on both flights. I've gone I've been going home down three to two in Kansas City, and it's so it's so crazy, like it felt like a normal flight. It felt like a normal flight. You're down, you're down three two. We knew what we had in the bullpen, we knew who we had, like we had confidence in our team. I went on a flight up three two into Houston and I remember hearing I remember hearing guys talking about, Hey, we're gonna invite this this person to La. Yeah, we're playing the Dodgers. Is gonna be so sick the Yankees, the Yankees versus the Dodgers. It's gonna be something. Oh man, this is gonna be so great. Let's go to this place, almost like putting the cart before the horse a little bit. And I've gone home down three to two, and then LC Yes. So it's like it's you feel those feelings, but the team that figures out how to make sure you just play this next game and not look ahead to game seven or what the ring's gonna look like or anything like that. Sometimes these game six is can be laughers. 00:20:42 Speaker 2: On which side. 00:20:45 Speaker 5: The team that loses. No, Like like game six Game six in twenty fourteen, we beat the Giants like ten to two because one team's like, hey, you know what I'm not I'm putting everybody out there, and the other teams like, you know what, we're if we get behind it all, we're not gonna We're not gonna chase this game. We're gonna get set for Game seven. And in two thy eighteen Game six, we went in and we scored I think we scored five in the first inning against hung jin Ryu, and the Dodgers did the same thing. They didn't throw all their best pitchers in that game to get ready for Game seven. So I've seen it become lab I've been a part of ones that become laughers, just because there's a different kind of mindset for both teams. One team's going pedal to the medal. The other teams like foot like hovering over the break, like uh okay. 00:21:44 Speaker 1: But with all that said, Yamamoto, it's starting Game six for the Dodgers, coming off a complete game, coming off back to back complete games. Ken told us earlier today, it's a super loose team, and usually you take that with a grain of salt. Every team acts like they're so chilling loose. But Ken's covered a lot of baseball and he doesn't say that, Does that mean anything or is it just you're running into the starting pitcher? 00:22:11 Speaker 3: Is I guarantee the Dodgers are tighter in Game six and the Blue Jays are because the Blue Jays, no, no matter what happens, is on Friday, they get another game. And it's not Yamamoto, but it's just it's the human being factor of life. You know, in the back of your head, I got another game, no matter what happened. So yeah, the Dodgers can act the same and say we're tight, and in the back of your mind you always know. And if they fall behind early like they have been doing that, the pressure mounts and mounts and mounts and mounts. Because remember this was supposed to be the greatest team of all time. 00:22:42 Speaker 4: The Avengers were the Avengers. 00:22:45 Speaker 3: Were put back together to kill Thanos in the whole Major League Baseball and ruin the sport. And then these little Blue Jays come along and and but you know what I'm saying, Like, if they fall behind early in Game six, the press, you will they shoot when Fox goes into that dug out of the Dodgers, there's gonna be some. 00:23:05 Speaker 1: Early Dodgers got to play this like their Game seven, they got to This is why I'm curious if Yamamoto isn't CG Yamamoto right, like, if he's normal, but they drive up the pitch count and they get to him in the sixth then tie the game at two. 00:23:20 Speaker 5: Whatever. 00:23:21 Speaker 2: What's the bullpen plan? Roki Roki t Ladae is it? 00:23:28 Speaker 1: I mean, I was gonna say Otani's probably gonna pitch in game seven. 00:23:34 Speaker 5: He's yeah, But I don't. 00:23:35 Speaker 2: I don't feel a little about anybody in the Dodgers' bullpen. I don't. 00:23:39 Speaker 1: I was wondering if things would have changed from that eighteen inning affair. Kratz Garda, Henriquez, ain't it right now? 00:23:46 Speaker 2: He's not ready? 00:23:48 Speaker 5: No, And he was facing he did he did well the other night he was facing the other half of the Blue Jays bench, and Yallamoto's Yallamoto? 00:23:59 Speaker 3: Is it? 00:24:00 Speaker 5: They said in the game today that show he's available. Roberts said, he's available for game six and game seven out of bullpen. You might see, you might see three innings of show hey tomorrow Night three might be aggressive. 00:24:15 Speaker 2: But wait, wait wait, you. 00:24:18 Speaker 3: Just say you're gonna say yeah, but then you lose him as the DH right they're not gonna So you have three innings of show show they're gonna say that for game seven. 00:24:29 Speaker 2: I'm just saying, to take out his bat. 00:24:32 Speaker 5: You you have, you have a small circle of pictures that you're gonna use. You you probably go. You probably go Yamamodo. If he gets in any trouble, it's Rokie, and then you say, show, hey, you got the last two innings. Because they're behind, they're playing, they're playing from behind. Obviously they don't want to take out his bat. But you might see Roki for three because there's no game seven if Rokie, If Rokie's not in there, and Yamamoto struggling, I just don't see a world where Yamamoto struggles. He hasn't yet. So the Blue Jays have to pull another one out of their hat to be like, you know what, we saw what he had, and now we're gonna and now we got him. Even then, you saw tonight Blake Snell was losing and he threw one hundred and seventeen pitches. Yamamoto is gonna go one ten plus. 00:25:26 Speaker 2: Won sixteen pitches, but who's counting? 00:25:29 Speaker 3: But it was one sixteen I thought, So I'll tell you what who hasn't you know, he said, Yamamota hasn't struggled. Snell hadn't struggled before this. Joe Hey hadn't struggled before this. Glasnowheaden' struggle before there's now they're facing a different animal, the Blue Jays. 00:25:42 Speaker 2: Yamamoto had one ant start Philly. 00:25:46 Speaker 3: Yeah, but Snell hadn't glasnow Hadden, shoe Hey, Hedden. I mean, y Almamoto's the one guy who's figured out the riddle to the Blue Jays. He's the one guy this whole entire, pretty much the entire postseason. Let's figured out the riddle. 00:25:58 Speaker 1: This looks like the best offense in base in twenty twenty five. It was can they adjust second time around against Yamamoto and do what they do, which is attack early? Yamamoto's planned last time around, I mean, unleashing that great curveball. Fastball was pumped more later in the start, right, a lot of splitters early. The thing with him is, okay, give me his game plan. You're his catcher. You know what he has. He's got a lot, and let's say they're all working. What how do you navigate through another CG Because you're gonna do something different. 00:26:29 Speaker 2: Right, Yeah, I'm not gonna do the same only to play make you really. 00:26:35 Speaker 5: Only they make you do something different. Hey, Jae, are you going in with a brand new game plan? 00:26:39 Speaker 3: No? Okay, how many this happened all the time, especially when we had the nineteen games in our division. You get back to back starts, and the pitchers always like, we got to change something. If they had really they really will, and I'm like, no, just do this now. In the first couple innings, We'll make a decision if they have changed their game plan. But no, you go into the game scene, just do what you did last time. It's probably gonna work again. No, they might not have the same control. And then they freak out. They're like, oh, they're saying something because you know, no, you're just not as good as you were last time. But then there's guys that can go out and dominate guys over and over again. 00:27:15 Speaker 1: Right, multiple pitches, even if he doesn't have one, he's got. 00:27:21 Speaker 4: Slider, cutter, curveball, two seem, four seam, sweeper, deeperopy, slutter cutter, all of it. 00:27:29 Speaker 2: Yep, and he's that's the modern picture. He's got it all. 00:27:34 Speaker 5: Is there any chance if you're the Blue Jays. You don't throw Gosman in game six? No, I'm just asking. I'm asking because you go for the Gen one game, which game is your best chance of winning? You have your best pitcher out there in that game. Just just a question. If you don't think of it as a Jays and you're just like no, never, then I don't think you're doing your due diligence. I don't think they do it. But you have to ask the question. 00:28:08 Speaker 1: So here's what's crazy. It's it's actually a good question. In most cases, it's not. But Kevin Gossman is no spring chicken and he's a very good pitcher, but he's even better when he gets extra rest. You can't do that, though, because the mental game in this series, like, oh, we're not going to pitch him. That's why it's a fun topic. Don't freak out right now, everyone, don't freak out. But Kevin Gossman often got extra rest this year and pitched much better on extra rest, including his last what six starts of the year. Velo is up in September because they took care of him. 00:28:45 Speaker 2: Blah blah blah. 00:28:46 Speaker 1: But it is a thing, right. I talked to Max Scherzer about this. Actually, in the past, he's still on. 00:28:54 Speaker 3: An extra day's rest. 00:28:57 Speaker 2: Where are we at. 00:28:58 Speaker 3: He through Saturday and he's pitching Friday. That's that's six days. 00:29:02 Speaker 2: So he's got he's on five. 00:29:04 Speaker 4: It's an extra day, so. 00:29:05 Speaker 5: That's six days. 00:29:07 Speaker 4: So you're fine, it's an extra day. 00:29:10 Speaker 1: You don't need a day on top of that. Crats Does that change your mind? 00:29:14 Speaker 5: I mean no, I don't. I don't care. I'm just I'm asking. I'm asking the question. To be kind of a naysayer, you have to ask. Don't just go status quo. Because let's say he throws a jam. Let's say he throws gives up one run nine innings and they lose one nothing. Are you sitting there going crap? We could have used that in game seven. 00:29:42 Speaker 2: Beabs and sureser game seven. 00:29:46 Speaker 3: Yeah, and the Savage might be available for an inning or two. I mean, you got everybody Trey Savage. 00:29:55 Speaker 2: Yeah. 00:29:55 Speaker 5: If Trey Savage comes out in game seven and even gets three outs, is he the MVP? Oh? 00:30:04 Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean we got to see what else happens here, but it's still flat right now? 00:30:09 Speaker 5: Yeah? 00:30:12 Speaker 1: Okay, anyway, that was fun. We are going to continue this discussion tomorrow. We will talk Thursday, it's an off day, and then we've got a postgame show on Friday. But Thursday FT Live one o'clock Eastern time. 00:30:29 Speaker 4: I have some friends that are uh from Toronto. 00:30:34 Speaker 3: I saw him today and cratch, you'll love this because I think you might have played with the guy. And so I was mad at him because I was like, hey, get us a jet and I'll get us tickets to the World Series. And they said something they the guy, this husband and wife. The guy was like, oh, I don't want to go something. I don't yeah, excuse whatever. And I saw another buddy of mine is from Toronto and he was and they were, you know, oh you said, you know, the Dodgers are gonna winlah blah blah, you know what do you feel like now? And I'm like, well, I guess stick with it because I'm you know. But anyways, so they were giving me shit, right, and then the lady, the wife of the guy from one of the guys from Toronto, had a Blue Jays jersey on at the golf course today, like blue Jays like legit white home white. And I was like, oh, who's your jersey of and she goes, she turns around and it was Lowry, Brett Lowry, and she goes, do you don't even know that? She goes, I don't even know who was I bought this like fifteen years ago, and I don't even know why. No, she had no she literally had no idea. You had no idea. Didn't Did you play with him? Because he was kind of crazy person. 00:31:39 Speaker 4: I played. 00:31:39 Speaker 3: I know, I played against him. He was a little bit nuts, right, he had he was. 00:31:46 Speaker 5: Super talented, uber talented, a little bit nuts. She definitely got that jersey from him, from him, from him. 00:31:56 Speaker 2: No, they liked him out there for they loved him. 00:31:58 Speaker 5: For a while. 00:31:59 Speaker 3: From man, would you get it from him? 00:32:04 Speaker 5: She knew what she was doing. You don't get a Brett Lowry jersey if you're not a little crazy yourself. 00:32:11 Speaker 4: Wait, what she's married. 00:32:12 Speaker 3: By the way she was with her husband, I don't I don't hope you're not going where. 00:32:18 Speaker 4: I thought you just come. 00:32:18 Speaker 3: But anyway, he was gone, him and Aaron Hill and that whole crew. But she no, She's like, I went to a game and I bought it. It seemed the most popular guy, So I bought his. 00:32:30 Speaker 2: Jersey for a year or two he might have been he was, he. 00:32:34 Speaker 3: Was, but she's like, I forgot even who this guy was. 00:32:36 Speaker 1: And anyways, hey, if you ask me like name a you know blue jay from this time period of these numbers whatever, I would not have given you Brett last No. 00:32:44 Speaker 3: I know. That's why I was like, I think Krats might have played with this guy. But and then she's like, well who is I go, I know he played for the White Sox. He did, because he went from the Blue Jays of the White Sox and it didn't go but it was. It was just amazing that she had a Blue Jays Brett Lowry jersey on at the club after playing golf, and I was like, wow, this is a real fan here. 00:33:01 Speaker 2: We have one question before we go. 00:33:04 Speaker 3: Get it, rud dude. 00:33:05 Speaker 4: I looked. 00:33:06 Speaker 3: I did look. I went on the it's a Marriott. So I went on the Marriotte and they're still available. How much come on seventy something one hundred that's American because I made sure it was an American Americans seventy five hundred to eight thousand two bad there there was there was like three rooms of ail, three different price points available. There was, but they looked like it was. It wasn't a sweet or anything. It was just like a regular room. 00:33:35 Speaker 1: Well, the more that go, you can probably dynamic price it up, so it's probably yeah. 00:33:40 Speaker 3: But no, I did look because I was we were talking about my wife and I were talking about a dinner, and I looked it up and it was seventy seven to eight thousand dollars. 00:33:51 Speaker 2: Wow. 00:33:53 Speaker 1: FT was going to do the show there, but then we'd have the field in the background. 00:33:57 Speaker 3: And everything that would be Think about it if we did that, if we just got one of those rooms, we did the show live as the game was behind. 00:34:04 Speaker 2: Us, we'd get flagged. You can't do anything touch in the field. 00:34:07 Speaker 3: I mean when you're talking about we get flagg we're in our hotel room. 00:34:09 Speaker 1: We get in trouble for showing a freaking two second highlights.
