<v Speaker 2>Born Malcolm Little on May nineteenth, nineteen twenty five. He
<v Speaker 2>was the son of a Baptist minister. His family had
<v Speaker 2>been harassed by white supremacist a number of times, and
<v Speaker 2>apparently three of his uncles and his father were killed
<v Speaker 2>by white men. After his mother was institutionalized as insane,
<v Speaker 2>he grew up in foster homes. He was discouraged in
<v Speaker 2>school from wanting to be a lawyer because his white
<v Speaker 2>teacher said it wasn't a realistic goal for black people,
<v Speaker 2>quit school, drifted through menial jobs until he was arrested
<v Speaker 2>for burglary and sent to prison for ten years, But
<v Speaker 2>there he became a voracious reader and soon converted to Islam.
<v Speaker 2>He was the spokesman for the Nation of Islam until
<v Speaker 2>nineteen sixty four, when he had a falling out with
<v Speaker 2>the leader of the Nation, Elijah Muhammad. And having a
<v Speaker 2>falling out with the leader of the Nation of Islam
<v Speaker 2>resulted in him having numerous death threats and ultimately on
<v Speaker 2>February twenty first, nineteen sixty five, as he was about
<v Speaker 2>to give a speech to the Organization for African American
<v Speaker 2>Unity in an auditorium about four hundred people, someone in
<v Speaker 2>the audience yelled in word get your hand out of pocket.
<v Speaker 2>There was a commotion. Malcolm X and his bodyguards went
<v Speaker 2>to go quell the commotion, and three individuals approached him.
<v Speaker 2>One of them pulled out a shotgun and shot him
<v Speaker 2>in the chest. The other two pulled out automatic weapons
<v Speaker 2>and shot him several more times. There were twenty one
<v Speaker 2>gun shot wounds all over his body. They arrested three
<v Speaker 2>men for the murder. One of them was named talmoge Heyer,
<v Speaker 2>the other one Norman three x Butler. The other one
<v Speaker 2>Thomas fifteen x now Hayer, confessed to the murder but
<v Speaker 2>said that Butler and Johnson were not involved. All three, however,
<v Speaker 2>were convicted and given life sentences. As it turns out,
<v Speaker 2>Butler and Johnson were ultimately exonerated in twenty twenty one
<v Speaker 2>when it was discovered that the City of New York
<v Speaker 2>had hidden critical evidence in their case, and in July
<v Speaker 2>of twenty twenty two, Butler filed a case against New
<v Speaker 2>York City for forty million dollars for false im prisoner. Okay,

<v Speaker 1>All right, so let me tell you about John Parfumo,
<v Speaker 1>who was a British Secretary of State who in nineteen
<v Speaker 1>sixty one had an affair with a nineteen year old
<v Speaker 1>show girl, Christine Keeler. When I say showgirl, I mean prostitute.
<v Speaker 2>Here's the problem.
<v Speaker 1>He was married to Hollywood actress Valerie Hobson. She actually
<v Speaker 1>was in Werewolves of London and the Bride of Frankenstein.
<v Speaker 1>She's a well known actress, very pretty. But here's the
<v Speaker 1>big problem. Christine Keeler was already in a sexual relationship
<v Speaker 1>with a Soviet naval attache Egvanni Ivanoff. You get a
<v Speaker 1>British politician and a Soviet spy and you're sharing a girlfriend.
<v Speaker 2>That's big trouble.
<v Speaker 1>He lied to parliament about the nature of the relationship,
<v Speaker 1>saying quote no impropriety whatsoever.
<v Speaker 2>Not of sexual relationship with that woman.
<v Speaker 1>Yes. After mounting pressure and evidence, Perfumo was forced to
<v Speaker 1>admit that they did, and he lied. He was forced
<v Speaker 1>to resign his party lost and later she posed naked
<v Speaker 1>in a chair became one of the most iconic photos
<v Speaker 1>of the nineteen sixties.

<v Speaker 2>John F. Kennedy, the thirty fifth President of the United States,
<v Speaker 2>was assassinated while writing residential motorcade through Dealey Plaza in Dallas, Texas.
<v Speaker 2>Kennedy was in the vehicle with his wife Jacqueline Kennedy,
<v Speaker 2>Texas Governor John Conley, and Conley's wife. He was shot
<v Speaker 2>from a nearby Texas school book depository by former US
<v Speaker 2>Marine Lee Harvey Oswald. The motorcade rushed to Parkland Memorial Hospital,
<v Speaker 2>where Kennedy was pronounced dead about thirty minutes after the shooting.
<v Speaker 2>Conley was also wounded in the attack but recovered. Vice
<v Speaker 2>President Lyndon B. Johnson was sworn in as president later
<v Speaker 2>that day. Lee Harvey Oswald was ultimately apprehended eighty minutes
<v Speaker 2>after the assassination after he killed a policeman. He claimed
<v Speaker 2>his innocence maintained he was a patsy for the next
<v Speaker 2>two days until he was killed by Jack Ruby. And
<v Speaker 2>then Oliver Stone and Kevin Costner got involved back and
<v Speaker 2>confused everyone back and to the left. What else do
