<v Speaker 1>It's the Lapsed Fan Wrestling podcast special report. The Lapse
<v Speaker 1>Fan presents the Complete Hull Cogan, a real American story.
<v Speaker 2>We're brought to you by Garage Pierre Aws. I'm sure
<v Speaker 2>we're all incredibly eager as we turn the page on
<v Speaker 2>a new decade on the Complete Hull Cogan. It's nineteen
<v Speaker 2>eighty to hear more about where we left you last time,
<v Speaker 2>where the new year brought with it an arrest for
<v Speaker 2>Terry Boleya in New Jersey. Yes, yes, I mean, I'm
<v Speaker 2>I'm i I'm always I'm always in need of a
<v Speaker 2>Terry scandal, and there's plenty of them to get through
<v Speaker 2>as the Complete Hull Cogaan unfolds forever long, or however
<v Speaker 2>long that it takes wherever long. That was a Fordian
<v Speaker 2>slip right there. But for a guy who we've always
<v Speaker 2>said from the beginning was terrified of anyone shooting on him,
<v Speaker 2>perhaps it makes sense that he was packing heat even
<v Speaker 2>in his first real true year in the wrestling business.
<v Speaker 2>And maybe it does or doesn't connect to all the
<v Speaker 2>things we've been saying about some side quests or side
<v Speaker 2>hustles that he may be involved in, But that's all
<v Speaker 2>still to come on this episode because right off the top,
<v Speaker 2>there is some urgent, urgent TLF news to discuss. There
<v Speaker 2>are some urgent public service announcements that need to go out,
<v Speaker 2>and this is the time to do it. As we
<v Speaker 2>enter the new decade of nineteen eighty on the Complete Hulkogin,
<v Speaker 2>we're about to enter a new epoch as well. In
<v Speaker 2>TLF History US. On July twenty first, nineteen forty eight,
<v Speaker 2>twenty two year old Vern Gania Yes stepped off the
<v Speaker 2>ss America along with the rest of the United States
<v Speaker 2>Olympic Wrestling team in Southampton, England destination London, Wembley Stadium
<v Speaker 2>to be exact. Yes, in the nineteen forty eight Olympic Games.
<v Speaker 3>Spectacular of the United States of America, the massed ranks
<v Speaker 3>representing the country's greatest Olympic team. Finally as hosts came
<v Speaker 3>Great Britains, and the gathering of fifty eight countries was complete.
<v Speaker 2>The journey from Minnesota to London that year served as
<v Speaker 2>a symbol, if there ever was one, that Vern had
<v Speaker 2>arrived in a summer not to be forgotten. Oh yes, boss,
<v Speaker 2>I think it's time for us to follow in Vern's footsteps.
<v Speaker 2>I mean it's been it's been a long time coming.
<v Speaker 2>This summer is the summer of lapsed. S must summer
<v Speaker 2>of lapsed. But this won't be the Olympics, No, because
<v Speaker 2>these ain't no games. Brother, first weekend in August, WWE,
<v Speaker 2>of course brings the biggest party of the summer, a
<v Speaker 2>two night Summer Slam to US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis.
<v Speaker 2>And sure we'll be there watching through lapsed colored glasses, yes,
<v Speaker 2>but where will the real fans be that weekend? That's right,
<v Speaker 2>the sight of the first Monday Nitro and Postumania and
<v Speaker 2>the nostalgic jumbo beating commercial heart of a state once
<v Speaker 2>governed by Jesse Ventura, and that weekend side of not
<v Speaker 2>the lapsed fan live necessarily call it the Lapsed fam
<v Speaker 2>a unique intimate get together with your co chairs, part
<v Speaker 2>live show, part meet in great, part pilgrimage, as we
<v Speaker 2>gather between nights one and two of Summer Slam and
<v Speaker 2>Verne's backyard to take our nine Oh yes, all right,
<v Speaker 2>and this is going to be a happening, to say
<v Speaker 2>the very least, with planned special guests to help us
<v Speaker 2>see the history in and around Nitro, episode one and
<v Speaker 2>everything else. Lapsed fans love about Mini from Verns Lake, Minnetonka,
<v Speaker 2>mans to the Boxing and Wrestling Club, Ringring Wrestling Office,
<v Speaker 2>to the sets of nineteen seventy fours The Wrestler to
<v Speaker 2>the Ventura Uh campaign, Huh. I mean, listen, we've been
<v Speaker 2>we've been talking about Minnesota, and we've been talking about
<v Speaker 2>going to Minnesota for such a long time, and you know,
<v Speaker 2>there's you know, we were hoping WrestleMania was going to
<v Speaker 2>be there so we could go there then, but well,
<v Speaker 2>fuck it, let's just do it. Let's just do it
<v Speaker 2>for Summer Slam instead. They're gonna do that. Fine, we'll
<v Speaker 2>be there. We're gonna, We're gonna, We're gonna hit Mini.
<v Speaker 2>It'll be a lapsed pilgrimage that like Mary Ganya's lamb Chops, Yes,
<v Speaker 2>just hits different. And then but there's mores. How could
<v Speaker 2>an Englishman refuse? And just as Mike Bullard and Billy
<v Speaker 2>Taylor further forged the Mini UK connection in The Wrestler,
<v Speaker 2>so must we all. In Weekend from ae W, TLF
<v Speaker 2>comes to London, England, my hometown, our very first ever
<v Speaker 2>and most likely only live show outside of the United States. Yes,
<v Speaker 2>TLF live in London one night only two. That's the
<v Speaker 2>Friday night, the Friday night before aw All in August
<v Speaker 2>twenty eighth, eight thirty pm Local time. Downstairs at the
<v Speaker 2>Dome is the venue in the heart of Tufnell Park
<v Speaker 2>in North London. Tickets available now at Domelndon dot co
<v Speaker 2>dot UK. That's d O M E London dot co
<v Speaker 2>dot UK. We've been asked forever to do this, yes,
<v Speaker 2>never thought it would happen, but this just clicked into place.
<v Speaker 2>Like everything we've done from the very beginning here at TLF,
<v Speaker 2>it's all about laps, their dippity and I'll tell you
<v Speaker 2>you know what. The Royal family had better get some
<v Speaker 2>chastity belts on because we are coming for those assts.
<v Speaker 2>Oh my god, whatever's left of it by the time
<v Speaker 2>we get there. Right, UK EU fans, Yes, this is
<v Speaker 2>your chance, no excuses join us. You might ask yourself.
<v Speaker 2>It's not real though, is it? Yes? Tis you might?
<v Speaker 2>You might? You might be better off watching an episode
<v Speaker 2>of EastEnders and tickets will be limited, so again Domelndon
<v Speaker 2>dot co dot UK. Scroll down the calendar they have
<v Speaker 2>on the website to August twenty eighth and convert one
<v Speaker 2>more time for your co chairs and if you do
<v Speaker 2>buy tickets, be sure to email us at the Lapsed
<v Speaker 2>Fan at gmail dot com with proof of purchase and
<v Speaker 2>you'll get a shout out on these airwaves. Nothing excites
<v Speaker 2>us more than to hear it in your own words
<v Speaker 2>why you bought the tickets. Of course, you know what,
<v Speaker 2>don't be shy about emailing us audio clips. You can
<v Speaker 2>just record one on your phone explaining why you're making
<v Speaker 2>the track to see us in London, and we might
<v Speaker 2>share those as well. We'll be playing all the hits
<v Speaker 2>with your favorite Lapsed riffs, bromides some may say, and
<v Speaker 2>characters and to give this trek to London as much
<v Speaker 2>local flavor as possible. We're thrilled to be partnering with
<v Speaker 2>Kenny Macintosh and the fine folks at Inside the Ropes.
<v Speaker 2>For years has been doing successful evenings with style interview
<v Speaker 2>with ends with many of wrestling's most interesting characters on
<v Speaker 2>stages across the UK. Kenny sort of liked the James
<v Speaker 2>Lipton of wrestling in some ways. He's interviewed them all
<v Speaker 2>on stage, from Brett to Sean to Foley to Hayman
<v Speaker 2>to Jericho to Goldberg to Sting and fact just hosted
<v Speaker 2>Kevin Ash on the very same stage that TLF will
<v Speaker 2>be taking over on August twenty eight. But Kenny's never
<v Speaker 2>faced a challenge like this. No, it's part of LAPS five,
<v Speaker 2>It's part of a Lapsed Fan Live in London, one
<v Speaker 2>night only two. Kenny has agreed to sit down and
<v Speaker 2>probe the rogues gallery of lapsed characters, many from beyond
<v Speaker 2>the grave, including but not limited to, lapsed Vince lapsed,
<v Speaker 2>Hogan Laps, Davy Laps, Nash, lapsed, Funk laps, Jesse Laps,
<v Speaker 2>Dusty lapsed Barnett, lapsed Fritz and Yes, to bring it
<v Speaker 2>all full circle, lapsed Vern. As Kenny put it when
<v Speaker 2>I was talking to him recently, as it sunk in
<v Speaker 2>what we were asking him to do, quote, I can
<v Speaker 2>go up there and interview the ghost of Hulk, Hogan
<v Speaker 2>or whatever. Yes, Kenny, Yes you can. Yes, you can.
<v Speaker 2>Just be ready for the challenge. Yes, because, unlike the
<v Speaker 2>wrestlers you've interviewed in the past on stage, TLF characters
<v Speaker 2>traffic in the truth, the truth that's hidden in plain sight.
<v Speaker 2>And and uh and and they they they traffic in in.
<v Speaker 2>They TRAFFI a lot of so before warned this TLF
<v Speaker 2>plus Inside the Ropes collapse is likely to bring a
<v Speaker 2>new wave of demand for tickets from Inside the Ropes
<v Speaker 2>well earned fan base, and I'm sure many of them
<v Speaker 2>have no idea what they'll be in for it downstairs
<v Speaker 2>in the town. Absolutely not, absolutely not. We're ready to
<v Speaker 2>baptize them in the Church of lapsed right boss, Oh, listen,
<v Speaker 2>all are welcome time for some reverse colonialization. Perhaps listen,
<v Speaker 2>it's about time. And that's not all boss. I don't
<v Speaker 2>know if you're aware, but costs a lot more money
<v Speaker 2>to get over to London and give the people what
<v Speaker 2>they need than it does to just drive over to
<v Speaker 2>Times Square for an afternoon as we did last summer.
<v Speaker 2>That's what I've been told. But we feel this is
<v Speaker 2>it the chance to go all in on an insane
<v Speaker 2>August Brother. But as we pencil out margins, like Mark
<v Speaker 2>Shapiro taught us to do right a TK yes, yes, indeed,
<v Speaker 2>we thought, how can we update any from a P
<v Speaker 2>and L perspective? TKO teaches us go where the guaranteed
<v Speaker 2>site fees are, to only go where you're guaranteed to
<v Speaker 2>be in the black, regardless of how many tickets you sell,
<v Speaker 2>and yes we'll sell them all. But let's not shirk
<v Speaker 2>our fiduciary duty here. We've been taught it would be
<v Speaker 2>downright negligent to turn down Saudi guarantees just because their
<v Speaker 2>oil infrastructure is being bombed every day. Absolutely because we
<v Speaker 2>might get held hostage on the tarmac, or because huthy
<v Speaker 2>rebels are launching missiles towards Saudi cities, or because people
<v Speaker 2>might die. How can we be sure we touch down
<v Speaker 2>in jolly old England, not in the red, and still
<v Speaker 2>manage a highly necessary pilgrimage to Wembley itself, Announcing here
<v Speaker 2>the return of the pre COVID Sit with your co
<v Speaker 2>chairs sweepstakes for adw all in. Yes, we're buying three
<v Speaker 2>tickets right next to each other. Yes, one for me,
<v Speaker 2>one for JP. Will the third be yours? Are you
<v Speaker 2>keen mate? Are you all in lapsed style? I mean,
<v Speaker 2>can you handle it? We've done this once before for
<v Speaker 2>WrestleMania and it was a smashing success. Shout out to
<v Speaker 2>Tom in Australia if you're still out there, And we
<v Speaker 2>were going to keep it going right but COVID canceled
<v Speaker 2>Mania that year. We were going to do it and
<v Speaker 2>it just never made total sense for us to bring
<v Speaker 2>it back until now. We're willing to wager that there's
<v Speaker 2>a mysterious benefactor out there that will cap this weekend
<v Speaker 2>in this summer brilliantly for the lapsed fan. So in
<v Speaker 2>addition to our live show Friday and ed in London,
<v Speaker 2>watch soon for an eBay auction that will give you your
<v Speaker 2>chance to bid on a seat next to the co
<v Speaker 2>chairs in Wembley. Let us together hear the echoes of
<v Speaker 2>Davy on crack phoning Brett on the eve of SummerSlam
<v Speaker 2>and the jubilation as he sat down on Brett's sunset flip,
<v Speaker 2>creating a lasting memory that, thirty three years later beckons
<v Speaker 2>us to answer some subtle but powerful call from across
<v Speaker 2>the ocean. Yeah, the memory that that so many people remember,
<v Speaker 2>but probably not Davy, right, So let's do our part
<v Speaker 2>never remember that, And likewise from Minneapolis. Turns out, getting
<v Speaker 2>space in mall of America ain't cheap, folks, And this
<v Speaker 2>being the first Lapsed Fam event, and our desire to
<v Speaker 2>make this something special and home style, as Verne would appreciate,
<v Speaker 2>we're not necessarily putting public tickets on sale for this thing.
<v Speaker 2>Rather we ask that you get on the list so
<v Speaker 2>to SPA by sending fifty US dollars to us via
<v Speaker 2>PayPal the lapsed fan at gmail dot com. Just type
<v Speaker 2>that email address in a PayPal and send include a
<v Speaker 2>message if you could listing your name and email address,
<v Speaker 2>and we'll be in touch on the specifics of when
<v Speaker 2>and where to be that weekend. Who knows, there might
<v Speaker 2>even be more to it than Mall of America. And sorry,
<v Speaker 2>not sorry if fifty dollars sounds deep, But unlike other
<v Speaker 2>events we've done, in this case, there isn't, ironically from
<v Speaker 2>Minnesota a third party footing the bill. Yeah, hey, for facilities,
<v Speaker 2>operation and equipment. I believe it's in overall. Yeah, not
<v Speaker 2>in this game. It's all on us somehow foot the
<v Speaker 2>bill for facilities, operation, equipment, insurance, everything else. So we're
<v Speaker 2>trying to make it pencil out. We're going to Minneapolis,
<v Speaker 2>as you've already said, not because we want to stuff
<v Speaker 2>our pockets, but because we got our hearts set on
<v Speaker 2>Mini when the city was expected to host wrestle Mania
<v Speaker 2>forty one yep. And when ww yanked that away like
<v Speaker 2>so many we said fuck Vegas and haven't gone her
<v Speaker 2>with Mania since and probably won't again, and they're feeling
<v Speaker 2>that this year, they're feeling the ramifications of precisely what
<v Speaker 2>we forecasted. We promise, Okay and many it will be
<v Speaker 2>a premium live experience, Yes it will. So if you're
<v Speaker 2>so inclined, please even consider giving more than fifty to
<v Speaker 2>the Minneapolis effort, because there are so many things we
<v Speaker 2>could do for this, this unique type of event. None
<v Speaker 2>of them, of course, are free. And the more you
<v Speaker 2>put in the kiddy, the wider the scope our imagination becomes.
<v Speaker 2>So there you have it, the summer of lapsed and
<v Speaker 2>maybe the last time we fly to fans. Things probably
<v Speaker 2>won't line up this perfectly for us ever. Again. Yeah,
<v Speaker 2>we've talked about the torch for years, haven't we, boss, Yes,
<v Speaker 2>indeed we at the Olympic torch, or hul Cogan's torch,
<v Speaker 2>ll the pro wrestling torch torch for that matter. So,
<v Speaker 2>as Verne and the rest of his compatriots did in
<v Speaker 2>nineteen forty eight, let us journey from Many to Lon
<v Speaker 2>this summer and see to it that the torch remains
<v Speaker 2>forever lit, no matter where it may pass. From there,
<v Speaker 2>you have your marching orders, bitches. So hulk Hoven got arrested,
<v Speaker 2>didn't he nice pivot We concluded with the precise language
<v Speaker 2>from the indictment, which you're co chairs. As a result
<v Speaker 2>of the support of wonderful listeners, we have Patreon and
<v Speaker 2>great sponsor support from folks like our pals over at
<v Speaker 2>Garage Beer, which of course is it's just rocking the house.
<v Speaker 2>I mean, you just see people sending us messages like
<v Speaker 2>you know, I don't do this. Podcasts don't convert me usually,
<v Speaker 2>but goddamn it, I went and found a Garage Beer
<v Speaker 2>because you keep talking about it, and it's the best
<v Speaker 2>beer I've had in years. These are real testimonials. Even
<v Speaker 2>think we're lying, Do you think we're right exactly? They
<v Speaker 2>thought they thought we were lying. It's unbelievable, folks. I mean, look,
<v Speaker 2>if they get it to support the lapsed fan, they
<v Speaker 2>know what they're doing. It's not complicated like you. We're
<v Speaker 2>probably the only individuals within within the I wouldn't say
<v Speaker 2>in but you know, surrounding the wrestling world. Who aren't
<v Speaker 2>you gonna fucking bullshit you. It's the fastest growing beer
<v Speaker 2>brand in the United States for a reason, and it
<v Speaker 2>all kind of started at the same time they made
<v Speaker 2>a decision that TLF is worthy. Yes, crisp, crushable brood
<v Speaker 2>for good times. Garage beer, no nonsense, four percent abv lagger,
<v Speaker 2>just ninety five calories, three grams of carbs, two cry
<v Speaker 2>favorite varieties. You got classic in lime. I think you're
<v Speaker 2>sipping on a classic. Am I right? Yes, indeed is
<v Speaker 2>beer finder locator at Drink Garage beer dot com. It's
<v Speaker 2>very simple. This is how the world works. I don't
<v Speaker 2>know where folks have been drive conversions with your co chairs.
<v Speaker 2>Big thumbs up to sponsorship, big thumbs up to TLF
<v Speaker 2>approved livation. That's what adults do. Apparently, I ain't hearing
<v Speaker 2>any man children engaging with garage. I only hear the
<v Speaker 2>real men engaging. Garage is always open, folks. Other orphices
<v Speaker 2>are always open as well. Because it's a Realmerican story
<v Speaker 2>here in the complete hull Cocin. So it needs to
<v Speaker 2>be a real American beer, and it's gonna be a
<v Speaker 2>real American summer when your co chair is fucking Tara's
<v Speaker 2>gonna be a fiery path across two continents. For Christ's sakes.
<v Speaker 2>Fuck this, that's enough. We're going for it. It's it's
<v Speaker 2>it's gonna be you know, come on, boss, it's gonna
<v Speaker 2>be the most painful summer of your life. All right.
<v Speaker 2>We're gonna be ripping, ripping holes from left to right.
<v Speaker 2>Both Neither side of the pond is safe. That's so true,
<v Speaker 2>all right, And I ain't afraid to fucking tell you you're
<v Speaker 2>gonna you're gonna feel it even if you don't fucking show,
<v Speaker 2>if you don't want the balls, the show doesn't matter.
<v Speaker 2>You're gonna fucking feel it. You're gonna feel. You're gonna
<v Speaker 2>sit down like, oh ship, what was that? Right? Right?
<v Speaker 2>Because we're gonna be there, wow, thundering away. Wow. We
<v Speaker 2>sit around like, man, what if we went to London?
<v Speaker 2>Won't the being nuts? We get all these great listeners
<v Speaker 2>in the UK over the years? Man, what if we
<v Speaker 2>went to Mini all this stuff we watched the Wrestler,
<v Speaker 2>the Death of the A w A. What would it
<v Speaker 2>be like to just like stand on these sites and
<v Speaker 2>look upon these moments. Go to Robbinsdale High for ships. Yes,
<v Speaker 2>it's like, yeah, but who's ever gonna go? Why would
<v Speaker 2>you ever go? And I'll tell you why? Yeah? Right?
<v Speaker 2>So you know it's funny, you know I did I
<v Speaker 2>did a trip like this last summer. I think I
<v Speaker 2>might have talked about it on the show. When you know,
<v Speaker 2>uh uh uh uh I did. I did because I
<v Speaker 2>went to the I went to the fucking hotel in
<v Speaker 2>Saint Louis. I was like, you know, my wife and
<v Speaker 2>kid were going to Saint Louis to go see one
<v Speaker 2>of my wist's clients. And I'm like, well, shit, I'm not.
<v Speaker 2>I'm never going to go to Saint Louis and Alabama, Like,
<v Speaker 2>that's not on my fucking radar. It's not I think
<v Speaker 2>I want to go to those places. So I'm gonna
<v Speaker 2>fucking go. Yep. You know, you find opportunities like that,
<v Speaker 2>get it done. You know, we might fuck around and
<v Speaker 2>find out and transition into uh pensioners, retirees and just
<v Speaker 2>you know, go on little uh go on little city trips.
<v Speaker 2>Got to get to that peanut festival in Dothan, R exactly.
<v Speaker 2>Fuck this, man, I'm having to Doan's now become a
<v Speaker 2>thing that I got to do for some reason. Your
<v Speaker 2>co chairs are getting active, and the block is hot.
<v Speaker 2>The block is hot from one coast to the other,
<v Speaker 2>all right. I don't know, I don't I don't understand
<v Speaker 2>why folks thought that this was some kind of sleeping
<v Speaker 2>giant situation, and they may still do. And it's fine,
<v Speaker 2>it's fine, it's fine. Listen, you know what again, you'll
<v Speaker 2>you'll be awakened by the beast speaking about awakened by
<v Speaker 2>the Beasts, as are my eyes opened to the possibility
<v Speaker 2>of the Marvel Carney Universe. Journey under the cinemat as
<v Speaker 2>iron Man two is now available for EP tiers and
<v Speaker 2>above at patreon dot com. Slash the Lapsed Fan your
<v Speaker 2>cinema companion piece podcast hosted by the Boss. And it's
<v Speaker 2>really it's really sinking its claws at me. As we're
<v Speaker 2>chronologically through all these Marvel movies. We're just and you know,
<v Speaker 2>we're just picking up and we are we are, you know,
<v Speaker 2>as well as we'll talk about as we get there.
<v Speaker 2>You know, the Marvel, the Marvel has has divided their
<v Speaker 2>their movies in phases. Okay, they have phases, and we
<v Speaker 2>are we're you know, we're pretty close. We're gonna uh,
<v Speaker 2>we're about halfway through. Actually we're halfway through phase one,
<v Speaker 2>all right, and so that's gonna be you know, we're
<v Speaker 2>getting to because the first Avengers movie was the end
<v Speaker 2>of phase one. So it's gonna be very, very, very exciting.
<v Speaker 2>That's kind of what I like about this journey to
<v Speaker 2>you know, is that it's not just like you're building
<v Speaker 2>up to to one. I mean, you know, you're not
<v Speaker 2>building into one movie like there are chapters in it,
<v Speaker 2>like you you build up to an Avengers movie and
<v Speaker 2>then you wait and you build up to the next one.
<v Speaker 2>And that's what I like about it. It's not like
<v Speaker 2>we have to wait till the very end of the
<v Speaker 2>journey to meet the Avengers, right, you know, and and
<v Speaker 2>and visit that. No, we get it. We get it
<v Speaker 2>very soon, very very soon. So it's it's great. It's
<v Speaker 2>gonna be a lot of fun. And listen, learning shit
<v Speaker 2>as we go along. I'm I'm never I admit it
<v Speaker 2>every time, you know, there's always something that I'm that
<v Speaker 2>I'm learning us as I'm researching these things, something that
<v Speaker 2>just didn't I don't even think to to consider in
<v Speaker 2>the making of the movie, kind of the drama going
<v Speaker 2>behind the movie. So it's it's a lot of fun.
<v Speaker 2>And you know, if you're missing out, you know, that's
<v Speaker 2>that's that's your problem. It's a rough look, it's a
<v Speaker 2>rough look, if you're missing out because we don't ask
<v Speaker 2>much of you, and that's what you need, that's where
<v Speaker 2>you need to be, honestly to complete the uh the
<v Speaker 2>lapsed experience. A lot of labor goes into that and
<v Speaker 2>it's a passion project and long made it continue. And
<v Speaker 2>just like the complete Hule Cogan unfurls out before us
<v Speaker 2>setting our destiny, so too does the Marvel Carney universe.
<v Speaker 2>And yes, it makes a lot of sense because there's
<v Speaker 2>no more Marvel Pro wrestler than Hull Cogan. I mean, yeah,
<v Speaker 2>it's true. I mean that as the years we saw
<v Speaker 2>copyright Marvel at the end of our wrestling shows exactly.
<v Speaker 2>I mean, forget the wrestling shows. Talk about the toys.
<v Speaker 2>The toys that always fucking confused me when I was
<v Speaker 2>a kid. I didn't understand. I thought, I actually I
<v Speaker 2>for a long time, I never made the connection between
<v Speaker 2>the Incredible Hulk and Hulk Hogan because I'm like the
<v Speaker 2>immortal Hulkgan. It's a totally different thing, right, you know,
<v Speaker 2>And and so you know there is there is very
<v Speaker 2>much intertwined and uh, you know, given up. The Hulk
<v Speaker 2>is also a very prominent, a prominent feature within the
<v Speaker 2>entire Marvel Cinematic universe, and therefore we'll be in the
<v Speaker 2>Marvel Karney universe. Love it very exciting, very fun. And
<v Speaker 2>also you know, again this was planned before Hogan died,
<v Speaker 2>so we're talking lap serendipity as always to the max,
<v Speaker 2>to the max. It's like, oh, yeah, I just planned
<v Speaker 2>to do a cinematic journey that covered you know, the
<v Speaker 2>first Marvel Incredible Hulk movie. Yeah, before I even knew
<v Speaker 2>that that Terry Boley was going to pass away. Right,
<v Speaker 2>that's the kind of you know, that's what we're on man.
<v Speaker 2>That that's yeah, that's that intangible that propels the engine
<v Speaker 2>that has been TLF one on a dozen years now,
<v Speaker 2>is just that when we sense it the universes. Yep, yep,
<v Speaker 2>you sense that for a reason. I was just talking
<v Speaker 2>recent unversing. Oh you're under that, Well, I guess I
<v Speaker 2>might as well kill Hall Cooke. That's totally fine. It's
<v Speaker 2>just like we get these we get these signals from
<v Speaker 2>the universe. I was just talking to the other day about,
<v Speaker 2>you know, the live calls that we do for ww
<v Speaker 2>pay per views on Patreon dot com, Slash the Lapsed
<v Speaker 2>Fan and the Boss Index and how you know, you
<v Speaker 2>really don't watch ww week to week. You barely care.
<v Speaker 2>You're like that last lapse fan in captivity, like I
<v Speaker 2>always barely care. No, it's like I don't, I really
<v Speaker 2>don't care. It doesn't even it doesn't even cross my
<v Speaker 2>mind except for if if a video comes across my feed, right,
<v Speaker 2>you know that's about it. And it's unique because who
<v Speaker 2>where else but here would somebody with that disposition towards
<v Speaker 2>pro wrestling still have a podcast to talk about it
<v Speaker 2>if they don't watch it. And it's like, well, that's
<v Speaker 2>that's laps, that's laps lenses and the Boss index about
<v Speaker 2>who's worth pushing and who's not worth pushing, and and
<v Speaker 2>how disconnected that take you usually is from like the
<v Speaker 2>latest conventional wisdom on social media in the IWC, and
<v Speaker 2>then time and again it's like it just yeah, exactly,
<v Speaker 2>because if you don't pay attention to that, if you're
<v Speaker 2>not constantly in this swirl of contrarian forced opinion, then
<v Speaker 2>you can you can call balls and strikes like the
<v Speaker 2>Boss does and say Dominic's the guy, and ever since
<v Speaker 2>he said it, god damn it. One one person questioning
<v Speaker 2>it after another is falling like dominoes yep, and I
<v Speaker 2>and I'm sitting here with my arms folded waiting for
<v Speaker 2>Jacob flot two to get a match at WrestleMania, let
<v Speaker 2>alone a headline match. I'm waiting. Maybe it'll happen, So waiting. Hey,
<v Speaker 2>it might listen again. I am I'm I'm fully expected
<v Speaker 2>to uh yet my words. If it happens, I'm I'm
<v Speaker 2>I'm all for that. So still waiting, still waiting. So yeah,
<v Speaker 2>that's if you want to really tap like the base
<v Speaker 2>nerve system of what makes pro wrestling tick from the
<v Speaker 2>perspective of what activates pro wrestling fans, you need to
<v Speaker 2>be on our ww premium live calls on Patreon dot
<v Speaker 2>com stae Labs. True, you're not going to get a
<v Speaker 2>perspective like in anywhere else. It's what you need if
<v Speaker 2>you want to still kind of follow wrestling without being
<v Speaker 2>tortured by the experience of watching modern wrestling for his
<v Speaker 2>long and drawn out and pre programmed as it can seem.
<v Speaker 2>Sometimes even in the wake of these unreal shows, it's like, man,
<v Speaker 2>I just feel even more pathetic watching this thing that
<v Speaker 2>I know is being called spot for spot on the
<v Speaker 2>headset by fucking Jason Jordan or Robert Rude. That's the
<v Speaker 2>thing that's just so it's like, guys, what are we doing?
<v Speaker 2>How can we look ourselves in the mirror? Like we
<v Speaker 2>tell ourselves that these athletes have like this sort of
<v Speaker 2>like intangible, unique, almost magician like skill set to pull
<v Speaker 2>off these illusions, and they're just waiting for the ref
<v Speaker 2>to tell them what to do next. That that's part
<v Speaker 2>of why it's like, you know, talent. I even laugh
<v Speaker 2>at the whole you know, whether whether whether you call
<v Speaker 2>it a work or not a work, you know that
<v Speaker 2>the whole Tom Brady Logan Paul thing, because I'm always
<v Speaker 2>like because I'm like, you know, also not like you know,
<v Speaker 2>the guys on the football fielder are thinking on their feet,
<v Speaker 2>you know, the ability to control Q. They're literally waiting
<v Speaker 2>for it. And this is like something WW decided is
<v Speaker 2>the way the business was going to work. It's not
<v Speaker 2>like it's been that way forever, right, And people get
<v Speaker 2>on us for saying historic better? How can it? How
<v Speaker 2>can that be better? How can that system of running
<v Speaker 2>a wrestling match be better than when these men and
<v Speaker 2>women knew how to take it in a certain direction
<v Speaker 2>based on what the people were telling them how can
<v Speaker 2>they think of think of it like this too. I
<v Speaker 2>mean we're talking about we're talking about the end of
<v Speaker 2>free will. That's correct in the wrestler, that's what we
<v Speaker 2>mourn the loss of across all verticals in life. Not
<v Speaker 2>just is it is it you can't even it's even
<v Speaker 2>more no, but it's even more relevant now in the
<v Speaker 2>state of the world and stuff like this whole idea,
<v Speaker 2>you know, like you're you're the freedom to to to.
<v Speaker 2>And the thing is is that these these these these
<v Speaker 2>wrestlers nowadays, they don't even know that that it's that
<v Speaker 2>it sucks, you know, it's what they know. This is
<v Speaker 2>how they know how to wrestle, and it's like, that's
<v Speaker 2>not how it used to be, and that's not the
<v Speaker 2>way it should be. I think, for your elf, go
<v Speaker 2>out there fucking make up a match on a fly.
<v Speaker 2>It's a you know what, I think it's worse than
<v Speaker 2>you know, I know, I know Steamboat what he didn't
<v Speaker 2>criticize Savage for having to plan out the their match
<v Speaker 2>move or move somewhat, But like, this is even worse
<v Speaker 2>than that, because you're not even you don't you'ren't even
<v Speaker 2>at the helm, you aren't even fucking at the steering wheel.
<v Speaker 2>You're letting somebody else dictate what you're going to do
<v Speaker 2>in the ring. Might as well take a nap, have
<v Speaker 2>a sandwich in the middle of the match. We certainly do. Yeah,
<v Speaker 2>damn right. So yeah, that's that's a place to be us.
<v Speaker 2>If you want to not be caught by surprise when
<v Speaker 2>the wrestling business evolves as it does, you need to
<v Speaker 2>be with us for our monthly premium live calls. WrestleMania
<v Speaker 2>is coming up. We get some special plans in mind
<v Speaker 2>for that. It's you got to be there, and WrestleMania
<v Speaker 2>does not feel special this year, so the live call
<v Speaker 2>has to feel extra special, you know how that kind
<v Speaker 2>of thing goes. And if they God help them, if
<v Speaker 2>they do Saudi Arabia next year and we're anywhere near
<v Speaker 2>the kind of geopolitical situation we're in right now, what
<v Speaker 2>a delicious thing that'll be to watch them force those
<v Speaker 2>men and women to pretend to not be hard five
<v Speaker 2>to go over there under active fire. You know, I
<v Speaker 2>just I just let's let's send the target to them, right,
<v Speaker 2>that's a good idea, Yeah, right, right. They have been
<v Speaker 2>canceling some things in and around Saudi like f one
<v Speaker 2>I heard and some other things like some boxing matches.
<v Speaker 2>So I mean, by next year, who's to say, by
<v Speaker 2>next spring, who's to say? But I'm it's just they
<v Speaker 2>reap what they sell, man, that's all I'm gonna say.
<v Speaker 2>Like they're sweating it every day because they you know,
<v Speaker 2>they just had to take it. They had to take
<v Speaker 2>the bag, and so whatever, it's what we got, we got.
<v Speaker 2>We know what we're on. We're on that Summer Slam tip.
<v Speaker 2>We're doing Summer Slam live shows now that Mania Tired,
<v Speaker 2>Summer Slam Wired. You heard it here first Many. Let's
<v Speaker 2>fucking get it a new place, a new you know, like,
<v Speaker 2>how fun will it be to compare a stadium w
<v Speaker 2>B show to a stadium AW show in the same month.
<v Speaker 2>I'm I'm I'm very excited. I know that. That's the
<v Speaker 2>thing that I'm I'm flabbergasted about. It's the same fucking month,
<v Speaker 2>same fucking month. That's incredible. We always into Many, we
<v Speaker 2>always going to do London, and it's like never never
<v Speaker 2>did it aligne in a way where it's like we
<v Speaker 2>got to actually do them both this month and then
<v Speaker 2>fuck it, like then we just well, we've done it
<v Speaker 2>all at that point, both the same year, let alone
<v Speaker 2>both the same month. Right. Yeah, So there's a lot
<v Speaker 2>of buzz right now, folks. There's a lot of energy
<v Speaker 2>going on at TLFHQ, a lot of big moving pieces,
<v Speaker 2>and you want to be a part of it, because
<v Speaker 2>this is probably our last chance to really create an
<v Speaker 2>explosion like this. Ye look forward to it. Not up,
<v Speaker 2>not up. I'm just going to reiterate the very brief
<v Speaker 2>indictment against Terry Buley that I because this is this
<v Speaker 2>is I need, I need a refresher out of the
<v Speaker 2>Superior Court of New Jersey, Law Division, Criminal Somerset County,
<v Speaker 2>the State of New Jersey versus Terry boleya defendant stamped
<v Speaker 2>I think January thirteenth, the Grand Jurors of the State
<v Speaker 2>of New Jersey for the County of Summerset, upon their oaths,
<v Speaker 2>present that Terry bowleya on or about the third day
<v Speaker 2>of January nineteen eighty Happy New year, Hum Boss Jesus Christ.
<v Speaker 2>He doesn't waste any time the ownership of Bedminster, County
<v Speaker 2>of Somerset aforesaid, and within the jurisdiction of this Court,
<v Speaker 2>knowingly and unlawfully did possess in a motor vehicle, a
<v Speaker 2>certain firearm to wit a handgun without first having obtained
<v Speaker 2>a permit to carry the same.
<v Speaker 1>Wrestling podcast, he's the Lapsed Fan Wrestling podcast with Jack
<v Speaker 1>and for Seo mjpisaro.
<v Speaker 2>He's gotta calm down with that ship. I mean, then
<v Speaker 2>then he ends up with a handgun in the right
<v Speaker 2>when after his divorce or whatever, he's clap, he's clapping
<v Speaker 2>it on his teeth. He's thinking about shooting himself in
<v Speaker 2>the head, thinking about taking his life. I mean, like,
<v Speaker 2>say all you want about caricaturing this guy. He was
<v Speaker 2>strapped his whole life, Okay, And I'm not saying he
<v Speaker 2>had an arsenal at his house, but this guy always
<v Speaker 2>had a gun. And I don't know, no, apparently I can't.
<v Speaker 2>There's always someone coming after him. You know, why would
<v Speaker 2>that be. He's just a pro wrestler on a heel.
<v Speaker 2>Bro you're telling me you didn't have the gun before
<v Speaker 2>anybody knew who you were and you were just breaking in. Well,
<v Speaker 2>what do you mean, Well, what are you talking about, Broiler?
<v Speaker 2>Exactly what? I just have a gun. So we're going
<v Speaker 2>to tell you what we can what we can about
<v Speaker 2>this incident because Unfortunately, our most intrepid efforts to retrieve
<v Speaker 2>public records from the state of New Jersey came up
<v Speaker 2>relatively empty. There was the indictment document that we just
<v Speaker 2>read to you, which I don't think has ever been
<v Speaker 2>surfaced publicly before. That came as a result of TLF
<v Speaker 2>public records requests. Again, that kind of thing is only
<v Speaker 2>made possible by your support and the support of great
<v Speaker 2>sponsors like rogbyer Powering fueling the ability for the complete
<v Speaker 2>hulk Coogan to go to the next level each and
<v Speaker 2>every time. But we're advised from the public records folks
<v Speaker 2>there that with the exception of that document and the
<v Speaker 2>dismissal document that I'm going to read here in a
<v Speaker 2>little while, no other records exist. There's no police reports,
<v Speaker 2>there's no CAD file, there's right you know, there is
<v Speaker 2>a record's retention schedule in every state. You don't keep
<v Speaker 2>records forever, especially ones that haven't been digitized or weren't
<v Speaker 2>generated in the digital age, so you have the right
<v Speaker 2>legally to dispose of them once they've sat there for
<v Speaker 2>a certain period of time. And we are advised by
<v Speaker 2>officials and official correspondents that the records related to this
<v Speaker 2>arrest from nineteen eighty have been destroyed. Of course, that
<v Speaker 2>made me say brother immediately, and that also made me say,
<v Speaker 2>we know that there are no shortage of legal eagles
<v Speaker 2>out there in the TLF solar system, particularly even in
<v Speaker 2>the Tri State area. So perhaps this does nothing but
<v Speaker 2>up the ante for folks to get innovative in how
<v Speaker 2>they may pursue said records. Because one thing I have learned,
<v Speaker 2>you know, looking for records all these years, is that
<v Speaker 2>you know, just because somebody tells you who's supposed to
<v Speaker 2>be the custodian of the records that they don't exist anymore,
<v Speaker 2>doesn't mean that copies aren't still in existence somewhere. Right.
<v Speaker 2>There's all kinds of different ways that files can be archived,
<v Speaker 2>and all kinds of different iterations and subdivisions of government.
<v Speaker 2>Oh yeah, the attorneys involved could have kept copies. Who's
<v Speaker 2>to say, but consider this the call out to the universe. Fortunately, though,
<v Speaker 2>and this didn't get a whole lot of play, although
<v Speaker 2>it was right there in his book. In his first book,
<v Speaker 2>Hulk Cogan did talk about this arrest, because, as we've
<v Speaker 2>talked about, as far as I can tell, his first
<v Speaker 2>book was simply an exercise in let me try to
<v Speaker 2>stamp out every little thing that's ever been said or
<v Speaker 2>insted about me that I considered negative or bruising to
<v Speaker 2>my reputation, and let me, you know, spend a little
<v Speaker 2>yarn about each and every one of those so that
<v Speaker 2>you can see it in a way where I'm not
<v Speaker 2>such a shady character, right, and then where misunderstandings were replete.
<v Speaker 2>And you can just tell by the totally random nature
<v Speaker 2>of his first book in terms of what makes it
<v Speaker 2>in there, you know, sometimes like six paragraph chapters just
<v Speaker 2>to swat away some other scandal. It's so yeah, it's
<v Speaker 2>such a weirdly like a weird layout for the book.
<v Speaker 2>It's so weird because again, yeah, like you said, you've
<v Speaker 2>got sometimes you got these chapters. You got like regular
<v Speaker 2>length chapters. Sometimes you have chapters that are just like
<v Speaker 2>you know, like you said, like a paragraph or two
<v Speaker 2>And why is this in here right right? Or why
<v Speaker 2>did you make a separate chapter for why not just
<v Speaker 2>fucking inserted into another chapter? Like why you know it's
<v Speaker 2>it's it's it's weird. It's weird. But as we've been doing,
<v Speaker 2>and as is our custom, will turn to the boss
<v Speaker 2>to dramatically render the you say, the chapter or the
<v Speaker 2>passage from Hogan's first book about yes, this arrest, which
<v Speaker 2>did make the papers. So this is not something that
<v Speaker 2>he's That's another thing I've noticed about him. And when
<v Speaker 2>I say that, you know, swatting away scandals, he very
<v Speaker 2>rarely volunteers anything in these moments of you know, these
<v Speaker 2>moments of truth, these moments of candor, and you scratch
<v Speaker 2>the surface and say, oh, actually, there was something that
<v Speaker 2>was made public about that. This isn't right, you know,
<v Speaker 2>this isn't him copying the things that nobody knows about.
<v Speaker 2>And this was another This was in some local papers
<v Speaker 2>in New Jersey, just a couple of lines in your
<v Speaker 2>typical court column that lists, you know, the many people
<v Speaker 2>who got arrested or in dieted that week, and it
<v Speaker 2>just says Terry Boulet. The newspaper accounts make no mention
<v Speaker 2>or notice of the fact that he's Hull Cogan or
<v Speaker 2>a wrestler. And so at the time, I'm sure most
<v Speaker 2>people reading had no idea what hul Coogan's real name was.
<v Speaker 2>That that would not have been the easiest thing to
<v Speaker 2>find out in nineteen eighty and so I'm not even sure,
<v Speaker 2>you know, until digitized newspaper archives became the thing in
<v Speaker 2>the past decade that people really even knew that this
<v Speaker 2>was ever published to the outside world. But he certainly did,
<v Speaker 2>and so in the damage control moment, I'm sure he
<v Speaker 2>brought up a lot. I'm sure he bought up a
<v Speaker 2>lot of those newspapers, oh god, at the time, and
<v Speaker 2>burned them all. Iye out go around fucking the papers. Brother,
<v Speaker 2>well the PA. Let me put it this way, if
<v Speaker 2>you think this didn't have something to do with the
<v Speaker 2>Wild Samoans, you got another thing coming, boss. Take it away.
<v Speaker 2>You know, everything has to do with the Wild Simoans.
<v Speaker 2>And I flew back to Tampa, packed up my car,
<v Speaker 2>and headed for New York. Before I left Florida, I
<v Speaker 2>picked up the Wild Simoans off of SICCA and they
<v Speaker 2>were gonna wrestle for Vincent Man two and the Simons
<v Speaker 2>were close friends of mine because of all the time
<v Speaker 2>we had spend together in Florida and Alabama. So we
<v Speaker 2>had good time on the trip north. Then we got
<v Speaker 2>to a point on the road in New Jersey where
<v Speaker 2>the signs were kind of confusing, especially for somebody who
<v Speaker 2>had never been up that way before. I pulled my
<v Speaker 2>car over to figure it out. And when I did that,
<v Speaker 2>a New Jersey state trooper came over and by it
<v Speaker 2>came by and saw me with my car all full
<v Speaker 2>of boxes and stuff. It must have looked suspicious or something,
<v Speaker 2>because he pulled onto the shoulder behind me and asked
<v Speaker 2>me for a driver's license on a Florida license, of course.
<v Speaker 2>But my car had Tennessee tags because I bought it
<v Speaker 2>when I was working for Jerry Lawler in Memphis. He's
<v Speaker 2>still driving the car that he quote bought or Jerry
<v Speaker 2>and Jerry bought for him. Get that and these you know,
<v Speaker 2>I don't know. But it's also it's a license plates
<v Speaker 2>or Tennessee tags. But you know the registrations in Georgia.
<v Speaker 2>It's like it's all fucking it's all crazy Tennessee tags.
<v Speaker 2>Why is he talking about the ed Boulder run here?
<v Speaker 2>Because I bought my So the cop, getting even more suspicious,
<v Speaker 2>asked me for a registration. I said yes, sir, went
<v Speaker 2>around to the other side of the car. I got it, dude,
<v Speaker 2>I got it. I'm registered, prog. I knew my regisration.
<v Speaker 2>Let me get out of the car and run on
<v Speaker 2>the sterior of the other side. You stand there and
<v Speaker 2>do nothing. I can't reach over brother, no, of course,
<v Speaker 2>not to get well. He's already outside of the car, though,
<v Speaker 2>is he's looking on the street signs or whatever. He
<v Speaker 2>had my registration when I was, which was in the glovebox.
<v Speaker 2>It's great details there, Terry really appreciate the details as
<v Speaker 2>if you know, most people keep their registration in their
<v Speaker 2>glove box. If the registration wasn't in the glovebox, it'd
<v Speaker 2>be worth pointing out right exactly. But when I opened
<v Speaker 2>the glove box, I had a gun, and the cop
<v Speaker 2>freaked out, Yeah, I'm gonna get my registration officer hold
<v Speaker 2>on like he doesn't know there's a fucking gun in there, Like,
<v Speaker 2>oh shit, I forgot I got a piece, Because what's
<v Speaker 2>a cop afraid of when you make a move like
<v Speaker 2>that that you have a gun. And he opens the
<v Speaker 2>glove box and there's a gun in there. Uh uh.
<v Speaker 2>He pulls up and it said get on the ground,
<v Speaker 2>So me and the two Samoans had to get face
<v Speaker 2>down on the snow. I was wearing a T shirt
<v Speaker 2>and no jacket. I was freezing cold out. My hands
<v Speaker 2>were handcuffed behind me and I had to lie on
<v Speaker 2>the snow for it seemed like forever. The funny thing
<v Speaker 2>is I never fired a gun in my life. I've
<v Speaker 2>never owned one either. This is my mind. Brother, it
<v Speaker 2>came with a card. Dude, Well it is Tennessee. Yeah.
<v Speaker 2>Well the wrestler was in Florida. I heard that I
<v Speaker 2>was going to New York. They told me I had
<v Speaker 2>to buy a gun to protect myself. Oh my god, that,
<v Speaker 2>you know what. Honestly, whether or not that's true, I
<v Speaker 2>don't care that's sound. I was just having a discussion
<v Speaker 2>about this with my parents because I, you know, just
<v Speaker 2>the idea, and I get it to a degree. But
<v Speaker 2>I also don't get it because I I drive in
<v Speaker 2>New York all the time, you know, and so I'm
<v Speaker 2>always laughing when when people are so scared to go
<v Speaker 2>into New York City. Oh my god, drive again. You
<v Speaker 2>go in New York City, You're gonna get shot. Yeah,
<v Speaker 2>it's oh my god, like taking consider the fact they're
<v Speaker 2>taking consideration the fact that there are millions of people
<v Speaker 2>who live in New York City who don't get shot. Yes,
<v Speaker 2>I know how many people take the subway every day,
<v Speaker 2>and yes, if every people, if people, if so many.
<v Speaker 2>If as many people get shot as you think they did,
<v Speaker 2>there wouldn't be much of a city left. Well, and frankly,
<v Speaker 2>they're remembering the New York of the seventies anyway, exactly exactly,
<v Speaker 2>but further, like, yes, it's not that someone got pushed
<v Speaker 2>onto the tracks by someone who should be institutionalized. It's
<v Speaker 2>that forty million people didn't get pushed onto the tracks.
<v Speaker 2>That kind of right, you know exactly. Of course that's
<v Speaker 2>going to happen more in New York. There's just so
<v Speaker 2>many more people there, sure, sure, but it doesn't excuse anybody.
<v Speaker 2>I'm just saying, like, I know exactly exactly what you're saying,
<v Speaker 2>and you can see Terry, mister Tampa boy being horrified,
<v Speaker 2>easily horrified, absolutely absolutely, you know, brother, not even Tan
<v Speaker 2>up there, dude, I'm sure you know. I'm sure he
<v Speaker 2>wasn't carrying a gun because he was afraid a drug
<v Speaker 2>dealer might rob him. I'm sure that was not part
<v Speaker 2>of the calculus, which is great, and I'm happy that
<v Speaker 2>I can, of course, I set that to rest. I'm
<v Speaker 2>glad that not more and more and more comes out
<v Speaker 2>than indicates that he might basically be Jay Z before
<v Speaker 2>he became a rapper. Yeah, thet a gun to protect
<v Speaker 2>that sounds like it, right, It's not like here in Florida,
<v Speaker 2>they said, Oh no, then it's not like here in Florida.
<v Speaker 2>And New York fans are crazy. If you're going to
<v Speaker 2>be a bad guy, the fans might try to kill
<v Speaker 2>you if they catch you in the parking by yourself.
<v Speaker 2>You're going to need a gun to scare them with.
<v Speaker 2>I think. I think the the fans are more likely
<v Speaker 2>to kill a Heel of the South than they would
<v Speaker 2>be in New York. That's what I agree. I agree.
<v Speaker 2>I agree because they know that Bruno's going to take
<v Speaker 2>care of it up in New York, so it's fine.
<v Speaker 2>So I went out and bought this little twenty two
<v Speaker 2>caliber Pea shooter and took with me to New York.
<v Speaker 2>But I haven't even taking it out of the out
<v Speaker 2>of the Western Auto box. I just tucked it into
<v Speaker 2>my glove compartment and forgotten about it. Well I didn't,
<v Speaker 2>So it's in a box. It's like, does he mean box? No, No,
<v Speaker 2>he's saying he didn't even take it out of the box,
<v Speaker 2>like out of the box at a camp, like he
<v Speaker 2>had not opened the gun yet. So it's in a box,
<v Speaker 2>in the glovebox. Why would the cop care? That's a
<v Speaker 2>weird detail, Terry. I don't know what you think, or
<v Speaker 2>I don't know what you think. You're counteracting by saying that,
<v Speaker 2>but it makes me even more suss Damn. I just
<v Speaker 2>talked to my glove compartment forgotten about it. Well, I
<v Speaker 2>didn't know was that it was an automatic one year
<v Speaker 2>sentence in New York and New Jersey if you were
<v Speaker 2>caught with an unregistered firearm interruptive. If you buy a gun,
<v Speaker 2>do you think that there's any fucking chance that you'll
<v Speaker 2>forget where you put it?
<v Speaker 1>No?
<v Speaker 2>The only thing in my mind would be is so
<v Speaker 2>where I left it and put it? And if I
<v Speaker 2>brought it with me in the car, I would know
<v Speaker 2>exactly where it was. I'm trying to figure what it
<v Speaker 2>makes him guilty of. If he admits he purposely headed
<v Speaker 2>in there, that's you know what I mean? It somehow
<v Speaker 2>serves him to say that he forgot it was in there,
<v Speaker 2>And I don't really really know why. I mean, maybe
<v Speaker 2>maybe because I don't know, but maybe because there's other
<v Speaker 2>ship in the trunk, you know, maybe he's trying to
<v Speaker 2>expand that Uh, that Tampa pipeline. I doubt that stopped
<v Speaker 2>up the coast, up the coast stop they stop the
<v Speaker 2>the the New York connection, brother, you call none of
<v Speaker 2>the Florida Russell's. I never mentioned it, so they're maybe
<v Speaker 2>they're pulling a rib on you. I'll turned off, and
<v Speaker 2>Ceca said, help me out here, God, state troopers. I
<v Speaker 2>just bought the gun. I didn't even I didn't know
<v Speaker 2>a thing about this law they have here also, and listen,
<v Speaker 2>I don't know about buying guns. So this is if
<v Speaker 2>you buy a gun, like you can leave the gun
<v Speaker 2>store without it being registered. Listen, I know, listen, gun
<v Speaker 2>laws are are fucking wonky. I'm aware of that. So
<v Speaker 2>maybe that is the case. But to me that just
<v Speaker 2>to carry it, it seems weird to me to carry
<v Speaker 2>it in public. I think pretty much every state requires
<v Speaker 2>a license. I mean, but like to leave, you're right,
<v Speaker 2>So to leave the store, you're technically carrying the weapon.
<v Speaker 2>You would have to get some kind of a license.
<v Speaker 4>No, I.
<v Speaker 2>Don't know. I mean there's some recent law that may
<v Speaker 2>have changed that, But back then, I highly doubt that
<v Speaker 2>in nineteen eighty that Terry could walk into a gun store.
<v Speaker 2>Maybe maybe you could. I don't know. Yeah, I've never
<v Speaker 2>bought a gun, so I really don't know how. I mean,
<v Speaker 2>I know it's easier than buying a house. I know
<v Speaker 2>it's easier to buy a gun than to buy a house.
<v Speaker 2>So yeah, probably carrying a steal firearm was generally illegal
<v Speaker 2>without a permit, according to this quick scrape of things
<v Speaker 2>in nineteen eighty and Florida. But whatever, you know, I'm
<v Speaker 2>sure I'll be wrong about that, but it's the point stands.
<v Speaker 2>Why do you need a gun? Pal? I know I'm
<v Speaker 2>still waiting for a good reason. And those of these
<v Speaker 2>were very protective of the wrestling business, and smoans weren't
<v Speaker 2>allowed to speak English. Oh my god? Were they well
<v Speaker 2>known up in New York? Did like? Did it matter
<v Speaker 2>at the time? You'll protect the gimmick even if you're
<v Speaker 2>not well known, bell, I guess there are supposed to
<v Speaker 2>be headhunters, savages who pulled chickens apart with their bare
<v Speaker 2>hands and ate raw fish, not civilized people who could
<v Speaker 2>explain that they'd made a mistake. Why were they in
<v Speaker 2>your car? Then they needed a ride? I don't know
<v Speaker 2>about you, but I'm going again. I pick up savages
<v Speaker 2>all the time. Why were these islander savages in your car?
<v Speaker 2>They had to pretend to the cop that they didn't
<v Speaker 2>speak English, so they didn't put their foot in their mouths.
<v Speaker 2>That's probably what he's getting at. I mean, I mean,
<v Speaker 2>you know, I also like, not my fucking car. I'm
<v Speaker 2>not fucking saying a word. I don't want to say
<v Speaker 2>a word to the cops either, but I don't have
<v Speaker 2>the luxury of lying about whether I speak English to
<v Speaker 2>protect again exactly, so when the cops was often seeking
<v Speaker 2>they could, they wouldn't talk. I beg them, but they
<v Speaker 2>wouldn't say a word. Never forget that. Yeah, right, So
<v Speaker 2>I wasn't down, so I wasn't damn anyway, the cops
<v Speaker 2>took us all to this makeshift police station. It's a
<v Speaker 2>makeshift police station. I guess they just set it up
<v Speaker 2>like a pop up store. It was like a pop
<v Speaker 2>up store, right, And they just fucking like take a
<v Speaker 2>tent or something out like makeshift police station on the
<v Speaker 2>side of the road and handcuffed me to a piepos
<v Speaker 2>side And again I was standing in the snow and
<v Speaker 2>freezing my ass off. Finally, a couple hours later, they
<v Speaker 2>hauled me into the station let me make my one
<v Speaker 2>phone call, and I called vincig Man Senior. When I
<v Speaker 2>told him what happened, he said Jesus Christ and called
<v Speaker 2>Grillamond Suit, a four hundred pounds headliner who definitely had
<v Speaker 2>no juice in Jersey, yeah right, who was a partner
<v Speaker 2>in the promotion and lived in that part of Jersey. Meanwhile,
<v Speaker 2>the cops threw me to a cell, locked me up,
<v Speaker 2>and then two samoans sat outside all night like a
<v Speaker 2>couple of puppy dogs, little puppy dogs, waiting for a
<v Speaker 2>Grilla Mont Suit to call in some favors. Finally, it's
<v Speaker 2>like a cartoon. Seriously, it really is like this is
<v Speaker 2>like dumb and dumber, you know they Meanwhile, finally the
<v Speaker 2>cops got a call, and the next thing I knew,
<v Speaker 2>I was free on my own recognizance. All I had
<v Speaker 2>to do was come was come back there once a
<v Speaker 2>month for six months to be with a probation officer.
<v Speaker 2>Apparently Grilla Mont soon it had come through for me.
<v Speaker 2>So I was probably the only person during all nineteen
<v Speaker 2>seventy nine who got caught with an unregistered gun on
<v Speaker 2>the state of New Jersey and avoided that mandatory Jailsens.
<v Speaker 2>I'm sure you were. I'm sure the only one, Terry,
<v Speaker 2>the only one who fucking avoided that Jaelsen, and certainly
<v Speaker 2>no one who's hooked up and could avoid it either.
<v Speaker 2>It was fucking New Jersey. Listen, listen, it's New Jersey.
<v Speaker 2>I mean if if I imagine, I can only imagine
<v Speaker 2>that it was much rougher before, you know, back then,
<v Speaker 2>so before I lived there, and when I lived there,
<v Speaker 2>it was a corrupt enough state as it was. Yeah,
<v Speaker 2>so I think I think there are a lot of
<v Speaker 2>people who got on. Oh looks like this job is
<v Speaker 2>gonna take about three times longer and ten times more
<v Speaker 2>money than I thought. It would be a shame if
<v Speaker 2>no one uh addressed it from here. Yeah. The thing is,
<v Speaker 2>you know what we could do was you know, if
<v Speaker 2>you I'll tell you these things go away. This is
<v Speaker 2>going to be very complicated, but you know these things
<v Speaker 2>they you know, they go away if you got the
<v Speaker 2>right uh, you know, the right amount of dollars. It's
<v Speaker 2>not a pocket, not hidden it at all. Like they
<v Speaker 2>think they're being coy about it, like you know, you
<v Speaker 2>just totally cop copped. You know, a bazel end would
<v Speaker 2>fraud fucking right, person. All right, listen, you know these
<v Speaker 2>are these are very very complicated things, and you know
<v Speaker 2>we gotta stick to we gotta stick to the law. However,
<v Speaker 2>if you'd bribe me, if you'd offered me some money,
<v Speaker 2>I'd gladly just throw under the rug. I knew, however,
<v Speaker 2>was coming. I thought, wait, well, maybe we can find
<v Speaker 2>the prosecutor.
<v Speaker 4>Now.
<v Speaker 2>He just died in January. His name was Dave Lynette
<v Speaker 2>and he passed away. He was ninety anyway, so he
<v Speaker 2>wouldn't remember. But what did it come down to? With
<v Speaker 2>the best I don't remember this shit? What are you
<v Speaker 2>talking about? There had to be like especially once he
<v Speaker 2>hit it big, like that was the guy? You know? Somebody? Yeah,
<v Speaker 2>I'm sure somebody was. He's out there. The arresting officer
<v Speaker 2>is out there. I remember that guy. The arresting officer
<v Speaker 2>is out there. But because we can't get more than
<v Speaker 2>just these sort of bland indictment documents, we don't even
<v Speaker 2>know what his or her name was that made the arrest.
<v Speaker 2>The officers out there, they want to tell their story,
<v Speaker 2>and we want to talk to them about what it'll
<v Speaker 2>take to get that story. Okay, it's very simple, but
<v Speaker 2>come June of nineteen eighty the following had been filed
<v Speaker 2>in the same court where Terry Bully had been indicted.
<v Speaker 2>It's order of dismissal under Rule three twenty eight, upon
<v Speaker 2>application of the pre Trial Intervention Program for an order
<v Speaker 2>to dismiss the above caption complaint and or indictment or
<v Speaker 2>accusation for possession of a handgun without a permit, pursuant
<v Speaker 2>to Rule three twenty eight, upon the recommendation of the
<v Speaker 2>Director of the Program that such dismissal be granted, the
<v Speaker 2>consent of the defendant to such dismissal appearing below, and
<v Speaker 2>the prosecutor having been notified of such application. The Court
<v Speaker 2>having considered the report of the pre Trial Intervention Program,
<v Speaker 2>concidering the defendant's participation, and noting that the defendant has
<v Speaker 2>released the complainant from any claims which might arise from
<v Speaker 2>failure to prosecute this matter in the ordinary course. It
<v Speaker 2>is on this day, June twenty third, nineteen eighty one.
<v Speaker 2>So this didn't go away until June of eighty one.
<v Speaker 2>Wow ordered that the complaint or indictment recusation BN is
<v Speaker 2>hereby dismissed without cost to the defendant, and it is
<v Speaker 2>further ordered that the Clerk of Somerset County Court b
<v Speaker 2>and is hereby directed to mark the court record complaint
<v Speaker 2>dismissed matter adjusted. Hereby consent to the entry of the
<v Speaker 2>above order. Judge Arthur S. Meredith and Attorney for the defendant,
<v Speaker 2>William J. McDonnell. It looks like to me I can't
<v Speaker 2>quite make out the prosecutor's name there, but again, I'm
<v Speaker 2>pretty sure that David Lynette was running the whole show
<v Speaker 2>back then, and of course signed by Terry Bowley as well.
<v Speaker 2>One little crumb that was posting on Facebook at one
<v Speaker 2>point during in some discussion about you know the times
<v Speaker 2>when Terry Boley lived in and around Connecticut when working
<v Speaker 2>for the WWF. In this first run, Guy writes he
<v Speaker 2>reported to the third floor of the Administration building where
<v Speaker 2>our office, the probation department was located. While I was
<v Speaker 2>speaking with him and taking some information, I called my wife, Beverly,
<v Speaker 2>who was in the prosecutor's office on the fourth floor.
<v Speaker 2>She came down her hold colder, hold colder inside your
<v Speaker 2>autograph for her. I'll post it. Yeah, So he posted
<v Speaker 2>the autograph that Hulk Hogan signed for his wife when
<v Speaker 2>he came in to check in with probation. Wow. Wow,
<v Speaker 2>pretty funny and again funny. This is how This is
<v Speaker 2>the final response from the state to us in reference
<v Speaker 2>to your request. The Somerset County Prosecutor's Office conducted a
<v Speaker 2>good faith search but was unable to locate any records
<v Speaker 2>responsive to your request. Please note the file was destroyed
<v Speaker 2>pursue it to our record retention schedule on the day
<v Speaker 2>that you submitted your request. No, I'm kidding, but I
<v Speaker 2>find that credible that it was destroyed. I just I've
<v Speaker 2>retrieved older records before of this type, so I hold
<v Speaker 2>out hope. And indeed, Terry bully getting started in a
<v Speaker 2>most New York fashion at the Wolfstling Federation. And Jesus
<v Speaker 2>if you think that's the only time Gabrilla Monsoon came
<v Speaker 2>through for Hulkogan in nineteen eighty, no, I do invite
<v Speaker 2>you several times. Just stay tuned, all right. But he's just,
<v Speaker 2>you know, Terry Bullay is just becoming part of the community, boss.
<v Speaker 2>That's what it comes down to. Of course, of course,
<v Speaker 2>he's you know, he's setting down roots and he's you know,
<v Speaker 2>learning the local customs, like the legality of carrying a
<v Speaker 2>handgun in your glove box and opening it when the
<v Speaker 2>officer asks for your registration. But eventually he settled in
<v Speaker 2>and around. As far as we can tell, his first
<v Speaker 2>home up in the New York Territory was west Haven, Connecticut.
<v Speaker 2>We talked a little bit about this last week, and sure,
<v Speaker 2>fortunately for us, upon his passing, or maybe it's even
<v Speaker 2>before this, there's a big Facebook thread in one of
<v Speaker 2>these west Haven community groups. Remember when Hulk Cogan lived here? Wow,
<v Speaker 2>And a lot of people do. And so here here
<v Speaker 2>we go. I kind of started with someone posting apparently
<v Speaker 2>Hulk Cogan lived in west Haven from seventy eight to eighty,
<v Speaker 2>which is not true. It's seventy nine to eighty. Did
<v Speaker 2>anyone run into him or heard of someone running into him? Yes,
<v Speaker 2>someone responds, between seventy seven and eighty two. No, Terry
<v Speaker 2>Hulk the Samoans seventy seven and eighty two. That's fucking hilarious,
<v Speaker 2>and many more. Oh yeah, I saw him. I saw
<v Speaker 2>him when he when he moved here in seventy two. Yeah, yeah, big, yeah,
<v Speaker 2>he was always there. You know, I saw him a
<v Speaker 2>lot of you know, he was around a lot. You know.
<v Speaker 2>I went to the matches back, you know, seventy three,
<v Speaker 2>seventy four where I saw him down in New Haven
<v Speaker 2>a couple of times. You know, it was big, big, big. Well,
<v Speaker 2>now it makes sense why Elvis saw him wrestle, Yeah, exactly,
<v Speaker 2>wondering about that he saw him wrestling, Yeah, saw him
<v Speaker 2>wrestling in New Haven. Apparently you think wrestlers are you know,
<v Speaker 2>liars about reflecting on the particulars of the past. Like,
<v Speaker 2>there's nothing like a local fucking you know what I mean,
<v Speaker 2>local yokel who's never left the town. Oh yeah, full
<v Speaker 2>of lies, full of lies about who when, what, who, when,
<v Speaker 2>where and how? Well. The best part is, too, is
<v Speaker 2>that not even that they're that they're lying. It's that
<v Speaker 2>there their memory is wrong, right, But they are so
<v Speaker 2>adamant that their memory is not wrong that they will
<v Speaker 2>argue till, you know, till death, because no one right
<v Speaker 2>they've ever told the story to has given enough of
<v Speaker 2>a fuck to actually be like, that doesn't make any sense,
<v Speaker 2>That doesn't lie up. He wasn't here, He was down
<v Speaker 2>in a you know, he wasn't down in Dothan at
<v Speaker 2>the time. The fucker's Dothan, I mean Dothan. You don't
<v Speaker 2>know what you're fucking talking about? What you're talking about exactly?
<v Speaker 2>Someone wrote, Yes, between nineteen seventy seven and nineteen eighty two,
<v Speaker 2>Terry Hulk, the Samoans and many more wrestlers lived in
<v Speaker 2>apartments on Sawmill Road, Pilgrimage. Walmart is now. We go
<v Speaker 2>to that Walmart one of these days. Yep, I managed
<v Speaker 2>the CBT bank where Subway is now, and all the
<v Speaker 2>guys were customers of mine. Wow, what if Terry inquired
<v Speaker 2>about a part time job? It said, bank poss Can
<v Speaker 2>I get these guys are making? Bro, I just got
<v Speaker 2>to look at everyone's files. Dude, Yeah, I know who's
<v Speaker 2>who's making?
<v Speaker 4>What you know?
<v Speaker 2>Dude? You're right with that. No, you can't see other customers,
<v Speaker 2>bank accounts, well the rest. All right? Brother? Well how
<v Speaker 2>about this, dude, how about you let me see the
<v Speaker 2>wrestlers anyway? Can I do that?
<v Speaker 4>No?
<v Speaker 2>All right? Well how about if I got a job,
<v Speaker 2>If I got a job here, could I see the records?
<v Speaker 4>No?
<v Speaker 2>No, you can't. What if I have a gun in
<v Speaker 2>my glovebox? What if I what if I aim the gun?
<v Speaker 2>I have my glove box at you. We haven't really
<v Speaker 2>explored this, Terry, like packing heat, like pointing guns at people.
<v Speaker 2>I don't think we've we've talked about this enough. What
<v Speaker 2>if I threatened to kill you right then? Can I
<v Speaker 2>look at the files? Hell of a way to get
<v Speaker 2>the fuzz off your back, terry, hell of a way
<v Speaker 2>to not end up indicted again. And this guy is
<v Speaker 2>in New York for two months and he's indicted already.
<v Speaker 2>What a fucking warning, What a fucking dufus No wonder
<v Speaker 2>he was always so self conscious about being a country bumpkin.
<v Speaker 2>He goes to the big city and he's like already
<v Speaker 2>under arrest, right, I mean a little sought off shotgun
<v Speaker 2>for fuck's sake, Jesus well walmutter, Okay, yes. And all
<v Speaker 2>the guys were customers of mine. They were great guys
<v Speaker 2>and very protective of the girls who worked in the bank.
<v Speaker 2>In fact, funny story, we had a very violent robbery
<v Speaker 2>in April seventy eight. The next morning, all the guys
<v Speaker 2>showed up, sat down on the couches in the lounge
<v Speaker 2>and announced that they would all stay all days from
<v Speaker 2>then on to protect their girls. I had to kick
<v Speaker 2>them out as they were scaring the customers off. Good memories,
<v Speaker 2>Yeah sounds good. I mean, who's standing guard like crusher
<v Speaker 2>her dude? Right? Who are these Barrett fucking Baron Michel's Cluna,
<v Speaker 2>the West Haven dag here's a visual for you. The
<v Speaker 2>fuck are you talking about? Fucking uh Billy Graham soon
<v Speaker 2>the Morales. Let's fucking Petro Morales sitting around there? You
<v Speaker 2>here to make a deposit? Doesn't look like it. Good memories, ladies,
<v Speaker 2>great memories the girls they had to protect the girls
<v Speaker 2>in the front, ladies needed it. But and then she's
<v Speaker 2>a tough cookie. She doesn't take ship from anybody until
<v Speaker 2>someone points a gun at her, and then she folds,
<v Speaker 2>and then she's a Then she's a coward's Diane talking again. Worthless.
<v Speaker 2>I can't believe I believe she still works there. I mean,
<v Speaker 2>she just talks ship about everyone she's ever worked with.
<v Speaker 2>Everyone eventually becomes, you know, some sort of liability to her. Gosh,
<v Speaker 2>fucking fake phony athletes coming in that time. That's how
<v Speaker 2>much I think that they were going to be saying
<v Speaker 2>that I was safe because of them. They made they
<v Speaker 2>made it more dangerous. Seventy eight Bank branch in West Haven.
<v Speaker 2>Can you imagine how much it smell like cigarette smoking there? Oh?
<v Speaker 2>I mean I also picture it's being managed by the guy,
<v Speaker 2>you know, by the bank manager and friends Vetti Coyle. Yeah,
<v Speaker 2>of course that's where that guy. Yeah, that guy's fucking
<v Speaker 2>doing it.
<v Speaker 4>You know.
<v Speaker 2>It's all but guys coming in with those with like
<v Speaker 2>you know, with those fucking masks. Those Uh. The parking
<v Speaker 2>lot is still like smooth black pavement because it just
<v Speaker 2>got turned into pavement like ten years ago. Yes, it
<v Speaker 2>hasn't had enough time to just become a big pockmark
<v Speaker 2>piece of shit like every other stream. Yeah, so good memories.
<v Speaker 2>And also he writes, the rock also like to eat
<v Speaker 2>at the New England Food and Beverage on Beach Street
<v Speaker 2>where the yellow condo condos are now next to Stows. Okay,
<v Speaker 2>that's probably when he was training U with Tom Pritchern
<v Speaker 2>and company at the gym they had and the doors
<v Speaker 2>function Junior Gyman Wrestling podcast.
<v Speaker 1>He's a lapsed fan wrestling podcast with Jack and Carnacio
<v Speaker 1>M J.
<v Speaker 2>Psaro in Connecticut. Someone else writes, when we were out
<v Speaker 2>at Toad's place in New Haven one night, there was
<v Speaker 2>a little commotion and I looked at the bar and
<v Speaker 2>there was Hulk Cogan and two of his big buddies.
<v Speaker 2>He had wrestled and beat Dominic Denucci that night. We
<v Speaker 2>will document that match boss as we go forward here
<v Speaker 2>in nineteen right, and came in after the event. I
<v Speaker 2>was twenty. I said to my friends, I'm going up
<v Speaker 2>and meet Hulk Cogan. So I walked up to these guys.
<v Speaker 2>They turned around, and again, this is heel blassy Hogan.
<v Speaker 2>You can't picture these guys approaching It's wrong to picture
<v Speaker 2>these guys approaching cartoon superhero hul Cogan. You've got to
<v Speaker 2>picture right, like always looking drowsy, that heel right, all bloated,
<v Speaker 2>you know, maybe maybe wearing glass on glasses. Totally, totally.
<v Speaker 2>I it was twenty. I said to my friends, I'm
<v Speaker 2>going up to meet Hulk Cogan. So I walked up
<v Speaker 2>to these guys. They turned around and said, hey, Hulk,
<v Speaker 2>did you win? He said, I sure did, and he
<v Speaker 2>shook my hand, and that's basically all that happened. I
<v Speaker 2>turned back to my buddies, smiled, and walked back, and
<v Speaker 2>we continued to party and talk about what I did.
<v Speaker 2>But but was he even Hulk Hogan. Yeah, we know
<v Speaker 2>that for a fact that he was Hulk Hogan. At
<v Speaker 2>this point, we just documented that last episode. As soon
<v Speaker 2>as he comes in in November seventy nine, they call
<v Speaker 2>him Hulk Cogan day one. I mean, but I guess
<v Speaker 2>my point is this, Yes, yes he is Hulk Hogan,
<v Speaker 2>but like you're gonna know who he was, Like, I
<v Speaker 2>don't know, this is this sounds it sounds like something
<v Speaker 2>he doesn't know where the fuck he is. Yeah, it's
<v Speaker 2>hard to say because from from all I can tell,
<v Speaker 2>in the seventies on a local basis, w w F
<v Speaker 2>was really on fire in their towns, every major city,
<v Speaker 2>Like people watched the TV religiously, they went to the
<v Speaker 2>matches religiously. That was part of why it was always
<v Speaker 2>such a laugh line when Vince Junior tried to claim that,
<v Speaker 2>you know, the predecessor hera to his was just smoke filled,
<v Speaker 2>you know, smaller arenas and things like that. It was
<v Speaker 2>like these guys, so it was bingo, bingo halls and bars.
<v Speaker 2>We didn't we didn't go into established Your dad used
<v Speaker 2>to run bars, Yes he did. He used to run bars,
<v Speaker 2>bingo halls and function halls and things. Gymnasiums, high school gymnasiums.
<v Speaker 2>We never we never did major arenas. We never did
<v Speaker 2>maticed the square, But what about the cap Center or
<v Speaker 2>the Philly Spectrum? Never never did, never did.
<v Speaker 1>No.
<v Speaker 2>We only did bars, bingo halls and function places of
<v Speaker 2>that nature. Function places, okay, function places, got it. We
<v Speaker 2>never we never wrestled on any garden or a spectrum
<v Speaker 2>or anything of of a of a multi thousand person nature.
<v Speaker 2>Here's somebody else. Terry Bulay, otherwise known as hul Cogan,
<v Speaker 2>lived on Claudia Drive, Cladai Clamydia Drive in an apartment
<v Speaker 2>and eight, quite frequently walking from his apartment to Denny's
<v Speaker 2>on Sawmill Road. Look at that I was friends with him.
<v Speaker 2>Fuck at that ate at Denny's often with him, and
<v Speaker 2>still still in today at his new venture. He recently
<v Speaker 2>opened Hogan's Hangout on Mandolaia A nuclear ward to Beach.
<v Speaker 2>After he left Claudia Drive. So I think he meant
<v Speaker 2>to say, yeah, he meant to write Claudia Drive. I've
<v Speaker 2>seen that before, Claudia Drive, Clauda in west Haven. After
<v Speaker 2>he left Claudia Drive in west Haven, he moved down
<v Speaker 2>a nor walk alongside I ninety five on the third floor,
<v Speaker 2>listening to twenty four to seven truck traffic. Because he
<v Speaker 2>was not with the w w FN Vince McMahon yea.
<v Speaker 2>At one point he tries to move closer to Titan
<v Speaker 2>Towers because as we're as we'll talk about eventually. I mean,
<v Speaker 2>when Vince first started going national and put the belt
<v Speaker 2>on Hulk in January eighty four, he was in the
<v Speaker 2>office like every week. He was basically busy, had his
<v Speaker 2>own office. Vince was building like the whole business around,
<v Speaker 2>consulting with his champion on a daily basis, you know,
<v Speaker 2>which is hilarious, Like can you think of Steve Austin
<v Speaker 2>moving to Connecticut and checking him with Vince every day
<v Speaker 2>about where the business is heading, and it's just fucking hilarious. Man.
<v Speaker 5>Oh hell, I brought a couple of graphs here, take
<v Speaker 5>a look at where we're going. And my damn ecel sheet.
<v Speaker 5>I've been coding Python because I'm the Texas Rattles snake
<v Speaker 5>side up down left right, twenty boss twenty sales by
<v Speaker 5>twenty sales.
<v Speaker 2>Pivot table.
<v Speaker 4>What So.
<v Speaker 2>Hulk recently was remarried. This guy writes to his third
<v Speaker 2>wife what another protege of his daughter and can be
<v Speaker 2>seen usually on Friday and Saturday nights, playing with his
<v Speaker 2>son and his newly opened Hogan's hangout. Oh he's talking
<v Speaker 2>about now, Okay, he's he's not saying. Hulk was on
<v Speaker 2>his third marriage back then. This guy, I still know him.
<v Speaker 2>I would what and carry okay Monday nights. He has
<v Speaker 2>had so many injuries. He's pretty beat up. Sometimes uses
<v Speaker 2>a cane to get around. Still very popular with the
<v Speaker 2>tourists as well, and with a gift shop as well.
<v Speaker 2>On the Mandolay app strip. You know about the gift shop, boss,
<v Speaker 2>I do, I do indeed get in there. Yes, I did.
<v Speaker 2>Still have my American made sure missed him, missed him,
<v Speaker 2>that missed him that time. That was it? That was
<v Speaker 2>your only chance, come to find out. Yep, exactly, I
<v Speaker 2>would have been it. Lots of people and kids love
<v Speaker 2>his life, like statue in front of for a photo
<v Speaker 2>op to set the record again. While a West Haven resident,
<v Speaker 2>he lived on Claudia Drive. Someone else writes, I worked
<v Speaker 2>at Racebook Pharmacy during high school I was heading out
<v Speaker 2>the door to do a delivery and Hulk Cogan was
<v Speaker 2>walking in. He held the door for me, and I
<v Speaker 2>recall easily walking under his arm and I'm not short.
<v Speaker 2>So there's your old Man Marley moment. Yeah, the big
<v Speaker 2>tanned arm and it's like January, you know, holding the
<v Speaker 2>door open. I believe he was friends this person ring. Yeah,
<v Speaker 2>it's more of a pung song pung song as he
<v Speaker 2>scowls in the distance. Oh god, he's a wind whipped face.
<v Speaker 2>I believe he was friends. This person rights with the landlord.
<v Speaker 2>He would come into the store periodically. But that was
<v Speaker 2>my favorite memory. Well, someone else rights, we have a
<v Speaker 2>picture of my mom with Hulk. She worked at the
<v Speaker 2>West Haven Police Department as a clerk, and he came
<v Speaker 2>in for a He came in for a permit. Wow
<v Speaker 2>ah and a permit? Might that be? Val took pictures
<v Speaker 2>and gave autographs to everyone. Someone else writes, Yes, a
<v Speaker 2>lot of the wrestlers lived on Hilton Drive over by
<v Speaker 2>behind Chick fil A. They tore it all down a
<v Speaker 2>long time ago. I fucking love this idea.
<v Speaker 4>Man.
<v Speaker 2>If I found out as a kid that there was
<v Speaker 2>an apartment complex in my area where all the wrestlers lived,
<v Speaker 2>I'd go crazy. I mean crazy, all want to live
<v Speaker 2>in the same area. It's nuts to me. I remember
<v Speaker 2>seeing on to the giant at the parking at the parcade.
<v Speaker 2>Had to be late seventies, someone else writes, someone else's
<v Speaker 2>Tito's Santana used to come into the Chevron gas station
<v Speaker 2>that I work over. That's Valero. Now. Someone else says,
<v Speaker 2>they all used to go to eats and sweets. Oh,
<v Speaker 2>I'm so there for days off lunches for these Oh, like,
<v Speaker 2>what is it like?
<v Speaker 1>Man?
<v Speaker 2>They're pulling up twelve forty five, one thirty, you know,
<v Speaker 2>and they step out of their cars. It's like, what
<v Speaker 2>the fuck Hogan Tito Samoans, fucking Hogan Tito and the
<v Speaker 2>Samoans getting lunch. Ough, I'd need to see that. I'd
<v Speaker 2>need to see that, all right. I'd love to hear
<v Speaker 2>what get like getting sandwiches or or or taking the
<v Speaker 2>drive down to fucking Newhaven go to Pepe's for pizza,
<v Speaker 2>waiting in line, Yeah, in gym clothes in public, know, yep, yep, yep.
<v Speaker 2>Fucking clowns. Someone else writes, I can still hear Betty
<v Speaker 2>saying he ate fifteen dozen eggs. Maybe she meant fifteen.
<v Speaker 2>Somebody rights he ate fifty eggs. That's so many eggs.
<v Speaker 2>I shaw him, I shaw him. It's so many eggs,
<v Speaker 2>fifty dozen. That's like, was it like beers for Andre
<v Speaker 2>and eggs for Terry was at the game. I mean,
<v Speaker 2>we're talking fifteen times nobody eggs. We're talking six hundred eggs.
<v Speaker 2>Six six hundred eggs was a big deal, No problem. Listen,
<v Speaker 2>I'd do it too if if I can, all right,
<v Speaker 2>I try to do at least once a week, seven
<v Speaker 2>freaking fifty cartons of eggs. Oh, someone said, fucking drinking
<v Speaker 2>it down. Wasn't there a gim? Someone writes an Orange
<v Speaker 2>they owsed to work out at. I thought I remember
<v Speaker 2>hearing if you were interested in getting into him muture
<v Speaker 2>wrestling there, No, Hulk, Hogan was Orange, That's what you remember.
<v Speaker 2>There was a gym. Someone mentioned a gym named Quest
<v Speaker 2>and someone said that that actually had a ring in it,
<v Speaker 2>So that's starting to make some sense. Someone writes, Dave
<v Speaker 2>Albert and Kenny Pasarelio had a gym and Orange. They
<v Speaker 2>were good friends, so he spent a lot of time there.
<v Speaker 2>It was across from the Old Bob's Discount furniture. Oh
<v Speaker 2>my god. Someone else saw Putsky there with Hogan. Can
<v Speaker 2>you imagine Putsky and Hogan going to get some like
<v Speaker 2>guam keys or something. I mean, you man, I mean
<v Speaker 2>the two of them trying to fit in a fucking door,
<v Speaker 2>you know, trying to come in like they couldn't do it.
<v Speaker 2>They couldn't do it. Putsky, especially around that time, he
<v Speaker 2>couldn't fucking fit sideways. For God's sake. Let's used to
<v Speaker 2>get that Polish food, brother, That's all I remembered. He
<v Speaker 2>used get all that cabbage, dude. Oh God was eat cabbage.
<v Speaker 2>Kilbosa and Pirogi's brother. I worked with the Kilbasa Auditorium.
<v Speaker 2>Dude in Saint Louis. Someone else writes used to live
<v Speaker 2>four door down from me from nineteen eighty one eighty
<v Speaker 2>when I lived on Greta Street in West from to say,
<v Speaker 2>from nineteen eighty one to nineteen eighty we listed it, okay,
<v Speaker 2>all right backwards? Some time there was condos at the
<v Speaker 2>end of the street. He shared the apartment with Brutus
<v Speaker 2>the barber, Beefcake so ed Leslie. Eventually he's we'll get
<v Speaker 2>to does join the heel blassy era Holkogan for some shots. Yeah, brother,
<v Speaker 2>you come up here, dude, money's good is I mean?
<v Speaker 2>The weather sucks, brother, and sometimes you get arrested, dude.
<v Speaker 2>But I'll lo than that. Brother. If you got to
<v Speaker 2>make sure you redister your weapon when you come up
<v Speaker 2>to what you gotta do? I cock? What fucking cock? Brother? Right,
<v Speaker 2>you're bringing David Schultz with you? Wait a minute. Also,
<v Speaker 2>Captain louel Bano and the wild Samoens lived in the
<v Speaker 2>apartment building, but Hogan who had more money. Oh my god,
<v Speaker 2>could you fucking imagine what a nightmare that must have
<v Speaker 2>been lou Albano and the fucking Samoans like that, It
<v Speaker 2>would be the loudest fucking apartment like it would be.
<v Speaker 2>What might I don't know what might louell Bano be saying?
<v Speaker 2>What might you hear him say in the middle of
<v Speaker 2>the night? Two four?
<v Speaker 1>Oh? I know?
<v Speaker 2>Coming out here we go. I just came over with
<v Speaker 2>me my doctor, doctor for puffick, and I'm going, oh,
<v Speaker 2>get myself, go to it. I'm new a new heaven.
<v Speaker 2>Go get that's big, big peach. I'm gonna have that
<v Speaker 2>by myself, and then I'm gonna go upstairs my bedroom.
<v Speaker 2>Maybe jerk off a little bit, take it up, and
<v Speaker 2>then I'll see what happens when I come up the
<v Speaker 2>next morning. Jerk off a little bit, not jerk off.
<v Speaker 2>Usually that's the beginning and end kind of thing. He's
<v Speaker 2>gonna do a little bit of it, not gonna not
<v Speaker 2>not total. Hey, hello, was that Rodney? Was that Rodney
<v Speaker 2>East Gavin or was it Rodney West Haven? What you
<v Speaker 2>fucking know about it? Bitch? Hashtag laughs, dude, fuck out
<v Speaker 2>of here, Jesus christ Leuel. Oh God, I mean I'm
<v Speaker 2>getting adds thinking about it, just like thinking about the
<v Speaker 2>fact that he you know, they lived among regular people.
<v Speaker 2>Animal house, oh and hawk House. I just picture the
<v Speaker 2>background being like the background of some of the skits
<v Speaker 2>they filmed, like in the earliest Coliseum video days where
<v Speaker 2>they had no production budget, and they're in like Vince's
<v Speaker 2>kitchen and you can see all this orange for mica
<v Speaker 2>in the background and like a yes, like a jug
<v Speaker 2>of senca. Oh, come on, folks, All the all the appliances,
<v Speaker 2>like the fridge are made to look like they have
<v Speaker 2>wooden exteriors for all. It's just and like just just
<v Speaker 2>imagine going inside. It's lou Albano's apartment. Okay, just think
<v Speaker 2>about what it smelled like in there. So much pizza
<v Speaker 2>and a mixture of pizza and sweat. Are a mixture
<v Speaker 2>of pizza and the sweat that like you get in
<v Speaker 2>the upper limits of your thigh right where it meets
<v Speaker 2>your cross.
<v Speaker 5>Oh what.
<v Speaker 2>Others agreed, that's all I get it. The guest commenter says, Hogan,
<v Speaker 2>who had more money, lived in a condominium. He was
<v Speaker 2>always at the pool. Someone else writes, my dad owned
<v Speaker 2>the Shell gas station on Sawmill Road. My dad fixed
<v Speaker 2>his car multiple times before we changed it into a
<v Speaker 2>convenience store. The car, that's it. That's quite quite an expansion.
<v Speaker 2>He then, yeah, we get the Yeah, what the combos
<v Speaker 2>they're in the trunk. No, we didn't get the nacho
<v Speaker 2>cheese once this week. Sorry, you just have the plane.
<v Speaker 2>He then came in a few times when I was
<v Speaker 2>playing plain cheese and the best. I love that cheese
<v Speaker 2>and cracker was always fucking that. Always what you go
<v Speaker 2>to snack at the C store from beef jerky, honestly
<v Speaker 2>go to snack, Yeah, honestly if they have them. I
<v Speaker 2>I if I'm feeling really really like daddy needs a treat,
<v Speaker 2>Like daddy needs a treat, I love, I love a
<v Speaker 2>convenience store. Breakfast sandwiches. Great answer. It's like you know,
<v Speaker 2>it's it's always on the lower level of breakfast sandwiches.
<v Speaker 2>But sometimes it's like those times you're craving Domino's pizza.
<v Speaker 2>You know it's not it's not good pizza. You know
<v Speaker 2>that it's not the best pizza. But man, sometimes you
<v Speaker 2>just want that. Or if you're a new Englander, you
<v Speaker 2>want your classic house of you know, enter town name,
<v Speaker 2>house of pizza, Greek style pizza. Uh, it's not good.
<v Speaker 2>It's not quality pizza, but it's greasy, it's oddly crunchy
<v Speaker 2>and airy, and it just works. Sometimes you're in the
<v Speaker 2>mood for that. But that's not a story. You're just saying, yeah, no, no,
<v Speaker 2>I'm saying in comparison, like you know, it's not it's
<v Speaker 2>not on the higher tier of of of breakfast ounches.
<v Speaker 2>But man, sometimes I will say, sometimes I'm just so
<v Speaker 2>fucking down. They're just so good. The only time I
<v Speaker 2>feel like I've missed my calling and not being from
<v Speaker 2>the South is when I realized, like the level of
<v Speaker 2>gas station cuisine, that that's possible out there. You know,
<v Speaker 2>I'll tell you, you know, if I I I I
<v Speaker 2>think about I think about sheets. Okay, I think about sheets,
<v Speaker 2>maybe I don't know, once a week, just as much
<v Speaker 2>as most people think of the Roman Empire, right, yeah, right,
<v Speaker 2>Because I'm It's like that was when I had when
<v Speaker 2>when I was doing Evil Dead all those years ago,
<v Speaker 2>and I went there for the first time and the
<v Speaker 2>director said, when you go to Sheets, you gotta get this,
<v Speaker 2>and it was this. It was a it was a
<v Speaker 2>cheeseburger wrap with you know, lettuce, tomato, all all the
<v Speaker 2>normals of you have in a burger. But then then
<v Speaker 2>you add inside the burrito basically fries and jalapeno poppers.
<v Speaker 2>It just un fucking real. I mean, it's a it's
<v Speaker 2>a heart attack. You know, it's a heart attack in
<v Speaker 2>your hand. This man, was it fucking It was just
<v Speaker 2>like it was stupid. It was just stupid. How good
<v Speaker 2>it was? Sheets? I love sheets? Sheets was good ship. Yeah,
<v Speaker 2>sounds like the best sheets since The Observer. Those fucking that. Yeah.
<v Speaker 2>The the gas station food is such a weird phenomenon
<v Speaker 2>and we just don't do it well up here at all.
<v Speaker 2>And honestly, like, yeah, we never did it like that,
<v Speaker 2>Like we never. It's a rarity. I mean, you get
<v Speaker 2>like a deli. Sometimes you'll get a deli and a
<v Speaker 2>gas station. You know, you can get like a sub
<v Speaker 2>or something, but it's just different. It's very very different.
<v Speaker 2>It's not a calling card. No, no, no, no, not
<v Speaker 2>at all. Yes. So this person says, my dad fixed
<v Speaker 2>his car multiple times before we changed it into a
<v Speaker 2>convenience store. He then came in a few times when
<v Speaker 2>I was there to buy cold cuts and groceries. Hell Covin.
<v Speaker 2>I think that sounds about right. They also note that
<v Speaker 2>Sargent Slaughter also came in a few times and bought
<v Speaker 2>gas on full serve. Someone else writes, when we were kids,
<v Speaker 2>we used to always go in there. I'm seeing your
<v Speaker 2>name and wondering if Scott is your husband. No, that's
<v Speaker 2>nothing to do with Okay, okay, how about the Duchess Diner?
<v Speaker 2>Almost every night. Late McMahon kept a lot of his
<v Speaker 2>stable on Coleman Road in the apartment. It's east of
<v Speaker 2>Glade Street. Jim Duggan is still around once in a while,
<v Speaker 2>and Steve Paradise is a New Haven drug dealer. Okay, okay.
<v Speaker 2>I played hockey in the Senior League and we would
<v Speaker 2>go to the seven to eleven. After the late game,
<v Speaker 2>Hulk Cogan and the Wild Samoans would park in front
<v Speaker 2>in a Lincoln consental and come inside and get fo Wow.
<v Speaker 2>I think he lived in the apartment the street. My
<v Speaker 2>grandfather's brother. This person Rights was the manager of concessions
<v Speaker 2>at the New Haven Coliseum. Back then, the coliseum was
<v Speaker 2>used by WWF for practice matches with the up and comers.
<v Speaker 2>Practice matches, butxice matches, rehearsal. They practice because what it's
<v Speaker 2>a real sport or something else entire because you need
<v Speaker 2>to know how to You need to know how to
<v Speaker 2>have the people and the guys in the back call
<v Speaker 2>your matches. So every once in a great while a
<v Speaker 2>wrestler would be fed at a table in his house.
<v Speaker 2>Hogan was not an up and comer at the time, obviously,
<v Speaker 2>someone else writes, then he moved Hogan to North Stamford.
<v Speaker 2>That must be the time he was going to Titan
<v Speaker 2>Towers or the predecessor. Titan Towers didn't really even open
<v Speaker 2>until the I think ninety one or the late late eighties.
<v Speaker 2>I worked at Giovanni's Country Market and made him six
<v Speaker 2>turkey sandwiches on wheat with mayo for his lunch. Thank
<v Speaker 2>god I didn't work at Burger King. Can we lay
<v Speaker 2>out for a second six turkey sandwiches for lunch? Yes, listen,
<v Speaker 2>I have no problem with it. I have no doubt
<v Speaker 2>about it, and I think it is fine. I am
<v Speaker 2>going to have not every day, but I'm going to
<v Speaker 2>have turkey sandwiches on wheat with Mayo for the entirety
<v Speaker 2>of the remainder of the complete hull Coching journey. That
<v Speaker 2>is mine. That is great clunch. There you go. I
<v Speaker 2>met his wife, Linda, and they would come in with
<v Speaker 2>the curly blindired baby in the stroller. Linda was beautiful
<v Speaker 2>and nice. He would I don't know about that. I'm
<v Speaker 2>not saying I don't know. She was nice, but that
<v Speaker 2>wasn't this time period that would have been. Yeah, I
<v Speaker 2>think people are people are people are people don't people
<v Speaker 2>don't remember well theough they're not. Yeah, they're commenting on
<v Speaker 2>when he lived in west Haven, right, with a lot
<v Speaker 2>of stuff after he left a w A. Right because
<v Speaker 2>he doesn't even meet her until he goes to j
<v Speaker 2>w A and certainly wouldn't live in Stanford until he
<v Speaker 2>comes back the second run. He would come in with
<v Speaker 2>other wrestler friends. Also. I used to wait on Gene
<v Speaker 2>Wilder and Gilner Radner also because yeah, because they would
<v Speaker 2>have lived there. He was, she was on Saturday Night
<v Speaker 2>LIVEE so that really Yeah, of course she died before
<v Speaker 2>was she still there? Eighty think seventies? I don't remember.
<v Speaker 2>I don't think. I think I forget when they when
<v Speaker 2>they when they get rid of the mall. The original
<v Speaker 2>cast wasn't just turkey that Hulk would have on the
<v Speaker 2>sandwiches back then? Yes, fortunately for us, upon his passing,
<v Speaker 2>and intrepid news station in West Haven did a quick
<v Speaker 2>little piece about Yes, locals memories of Hulk Cogan and
<v Speaker 2>they found a waitress that recalled waiting on him during
<v Speaker 2>this time period. That's right, And what do you think
<v Speaker 2>he preferred?
<v Speaker 4>Listen in Okay, he was tuna tuna, tuna platters and
<v Speaker 4>they won't eat healthy. Yeah, but tuna seemed to be
<v Speaker 4>his favorite at that time. He was big on tuna tuna,
<v Speaker 4>tuna platters and want to eat healthy. Yeah, but tuna
<v Speaker 4>seemed to be his favorite at that time.
<v Speaker 2>I don't know that they all eat healthy, but sure
<v Speaker 2>I can see him the platter, tuna platters, tuna. Oh yeah,
<v Speaker 2>tuna tuna. It's not like a piano tuner or you're
<v Speaker 2>talking about the fish. I mean you can get tuna. Uh, brother,
<v Speaker 2>you know what I'm thinking, brother's tuna platter? Brother, is
<v Speaker 2>that to think of that tuna platter. The platter, I mean,
<v Speaker 2>like what you know, I can, I can, I can
<v Speaker 2>picture you know there's a there's a diner I've been to,
<v Speaker 2>or that you have, like you get like salad on
<v Speaker 2>a salad, you know, like is that what that is?
<v Speaker 2>Are you talking about? You getting like tuna on a
<v Speaker 2>fucking like on a on like a.
<v Speaker 4>Regular soundladders and they won't eat.
<v Speaker 2>Help.
<v Speaker 4>But tuna seemed to be his favorite at that time.
<v Speaker 2>All right, So if we don't learn anything else from
<v Speaker 2>the complete Hull cokeing quote, he was big on tuna.
<v Speaker 2>It was big on tuna. Love that fish. Yeah, someone
<v Speaker 2>else rights many wrestlers lived in west Haven. There used
<v Speaker 2>to be sign picks of them hanging up in the
<v Speaker 2>seven eleven on saw Mill Road, next to the dunkin Donuts.
<v Speaker 2>Oh we need to go there. That's not the anymore,
<v Speaker 2>I guess. But as a little kid, the WWWF had
<v Speaker 2>a picture an autograph signing one day at that seven
<v Speaker 2>to eleven. Someone else writes met Big John stud King,
<v Speaker 2>Kong Bundy and Bobby Heenan at one of those events. Wow,
<v Speaker 2>you know they go back and forth a little bit
<v Speaker 2>a where that is my parents ran into him. Someone
<v Speaker 2>else rights at Denny's. He was flirting with my mom
<v Speaker 2>from across the dining area, and my dad stood up.
<v Speaker 2>Then he stood up, Terry did, and my dad hid behind.
<v Speaker 2>My mother sold on. Dude, right flirts brother, like you did,
<v Speaker 2>John Severans? Were you hiding? Brother? What's your what's your ick?
<v Speaker 2>Want some tuna? Dude? Feeling tune? And brother, you're big
<v Speaker 2>on tuna. I'm big on tuna. Yeah, you're big. You're
<v Speaker 2>big on Dana ball too. You're big on a lot
<v Speaker 2>of things, big tuna. Hey, hey, sweetheart, you're big on tuna.
<v Speaker 2>Wait wait till they wait, wait till the tour goes
<v Speaker 2>to al tuna? Think out of his mind? Wait, beg
<v Speaker 2>on tuna? We yeah, what are you? Brother? Begne tuna? Huh?
<v Speaker 2>Tuna is a code word. That's why he always ordered
<v Speaker 2>them like he thought she was like a connect or
<v Speaker 2>something and she knew what tuna ment. But this woman
<v Speaker 2>would bring him a tuna sand which every time she
<v Speaker 2>doesn't get it? Bro, you want too tuna? I thought
<v Speaker 2>she was Smith's art. And how are you bring me tuna?
<v Speaker 2>I gain? I brought you a tuna salmon? No, no,
<v Speaker 2>I thought you were bringing tuna. Bring me to nah.
<v Speaker 2>You know what now is bring me to the nah?
<v Speaker 2>You know what the naw is, dude, ball bring me
<v Speaker 2>to the nah? Did I brought you a tuna?
<v Speaker 4>He was vegan tunai tuna tunauna?
<v Speaker 2>Okay, was on tula just like some like half assed
<v Speaker 2>toasted piece of bread, Like how why is this five sixty?
<v Speaker 2>You know? And it's just someone back there. It's just
<v Speaker 2>like scooping up. It's like it's like right, It's like
<v Speaker 2>it's like like you know, in the morning, in the
<v Speaker 2>morning they get there. First thing they get there, they toast,
<v Speaker 2>they pre toast bread for saldwiches. All right, it's been
<v Speaker 2>toasting for like hours, all right, and all we do
<v Speaker 2>this slop on something tuna solad and just put the
<v Speaker 2>other piece of bread on. It's like not even they're
<v Speaker 2>even squish it down. It's like you get like a
<v Speaker 2>like an ice cream scoop of tuna in between two
<v Speaker 2>pieces of bread toast. You know, alright, I get the
<v Speaker 2>guy who's fucking tuna sandwich? What do you want?
<v Speaker 6>I mean, I know all right, the guy's fucking backing.
<v Speaker 6>You're big, big tona guy. Fine, the big tuna fucking
<v Speaker 6>and that's him right there, Marv. That's the silver tuna,
<v Speaker 6>the orange. Yeah, yeah, that's right.
<v Speaker 2>Someone else writes, uh, I was with Terry and spent
<v Speaker 2>time up at forty eight Claudia Drive, where he lives
<v Speaker 2>until he and Linda moved down to Norwalk into a
<v Speaker 2>third floor flat next to I ninety five. Still remain
<v Speaker 2>friends with him in Florida, only speaking people main friends
<v Speaker 2>with him, like what the fuck? Really? I don't know
<v Speaker 2>if I buy that. I don't know if I buy that.
<v Speaker 2>I know he's just because he'll say hi to you.
<v Speaker 2>What you each other? Exactly? Oh dude, Browler, Yeah exactly,
<v Speaker 2>thanks for coming to karaoke. You buy drinks? Brother? Can
<v Speaker 2>you follow me from kind of kids school? What Tennessee tags?
<v Speaker 1>What?
<v Speaker 2>Brother? The kind of Tennessee tax dude? Yep, brutus like
<v Speaker 2>I got Tennessee tax caught parking garage, think Tennessee tags?
<v Speaker 2>Not serving Tennessee tags in your bowler? Fuck Tennessee tags,
<v Speaker 2>ten tags, ten toes. Someone else twites, Yes, he used
<v Speaker 2>to be around the seven eleven all the time on
<v Speaker 2>Jones Hill Road, him and the other wrestlers hanging out
<v Speaker 2>of seven eleven. What is her film fourteen year old?
<v Speaker 2>What was the fucking Jane Silent Bob Forgot's Oh get
<v Speaker 2>his Jay had Boulder silent Bob. Go ahead, folks, do
<v Speaker 2>your magic, you know, type it in actually or offa
<v Speaker 2>his fucking silent Bob, type it in make it happen.
<v Speaker 2>Oh my god, fucking Christ. They were at Denny's across
<v Speaker 2>the street all the time. Someone else rights, uh, someone
<v Speaker 2>says in seventy six seventy seven, one of my classmates
<v Speaker 2>at Maloy School was the daughter of another wrestler, Tony Garia.
<v Speaker 2>They lived at the apartments at the end of Milloy Road.
<v Speaker 2>Such a lovely family. I believe they were from Auckland
<v Speaker 2>Island off New Zealand. Oland is in New Zealand. It's fine.
<v Speaker 2>Did you know the Hunters?
<v Speaker 4>No?
<v Speaker 2>Okay, they're going back and forth about other people. Uh,
<v Speaker 2>and then let's see, Okay, here's a good one. I
<v Speaker 2>was in that school at that time, and they all
<v Speaker 2>lived on Claudia Drive. So apparently when Terry lived in
<v Speaker 2>Claudia Drive, a lot off other wrestlers did too. I
<v Speaker 2>used to see them all the time. There was a
<v Speaker 2>couple of kids that I went to school that their
<v Speaker 2>fathers were wrestlers. That's something. Huh can you imagine?
<v Speaker 3>Wow?
<v Speaker 2>You got to send the kids to school, right, yep,
<v Speaker 2>of course that's crazy. Your dad doesn't what, of course
<v Speaker 2>was wrestler career day? Fucking Sergeant Slaughter walks in, Oh god,
<v Speaker 2>uh is what you do on the level? Turn hot,
<v Speaker 2>turn hot. I'm sorry, mister Slaughter, we don't. We don't
<v Speaker 2>name Colin school maggots, all the slim.
<v Speaker 1>What a great nick, what a great name, what.
<v Speaker 2>A great The Immortal slime, the immortal slime, and the
<v Speaker 2>Ultimate puke. He's the immortal sling, the immortal slime. Oh my,
<v Speaker 2>I would like to have seen how fucking he might
<v Speaker 2>takeing notes? Alright, what am I gonna call him? Mortals
<v Speaker 2>lie and the ultimate puke? What the fuck? Man? We
<v Speaker 2>had a weird We had a weird situation. We grew up.
<v Speaker 2>It was just like think about like just just picture him, okay,
<v Speaker 2>picture him during that era condensation face yep, the conversation
<v Speaker 2>and his eyes just like always fucking bugging out, like
<v Speaker 2>just like he is a psychopath. Psychopath. That's good stuff.
<v Speaker 2>Fl I don't know to tell you he was scary.
<v Speaker 2>You're not kidding. Oh, man, that's funny, all right. There's
<v Speaker 2>a couple of kids that went to school with their
<v Speaker 2>father's wrestlers. We used to see him at the seven
<v Speaker 2>eleven all the time. This guy love convenience stores. I'll
<v Speaker 2>stop on seven to eleven. You want anything, brutus on
<v Speaker 2>six pack rolling? We thinking six pack Sean. Sean was like, no,
<v Speaker 2>I'm all right. You would see him at the dairy mart.
<v Speaker 2>I even think Loue Albano lived there. At the dry
<v Speaker 2>martin it wouldt surprise me that I could see him
<v Speaker 2>sleeping in the back. I remember see Chief Ja Strongungbo
<v Speaker 2>as well. Someone said, Umm, yep. I worked at Stoppin'chopp
<v Speaker 2>and Orange just over the city line, and I'm sure
<v Speaker 2>everyone knows the store. I was brat bagging late one night,
<v Speaker 2>probably after ten pm. Not many customers were in the store,
<v Speaker 2>and this huge guy walks in and it was him.
<v Speaker 2>He went to the dairy section and got all dairy
<v Speaker 2>products and came up front to check out, and I
<v Speaker 2>got to bag his groceries for him. He was freaking huge.
<v Speaker 2>I'm five foot nine and at that time it was
<v Speaker 2>about one hundred and sixty pounds. He was twice my size.
<v Speaker 2>And probably a foot taller with arms like a beast.
<v Speaker 2>You're five foot nine, so you're saying he's eleven foot six. Okay,
<v Speaker 2>even he wouldn't say that. I was seventeen at the time.
<v Speaker 2>All I can remember him saying to me, in that
<v Speaker 2>distinctive voice of his, is thank you for bragging my stuff.
<v Speaker 2>And he shook my hand. I think his hand was
<v Speaker 2>three times the size of mind. I remember my front
<v Speaker 2>end manager, his name was Dennis, a very cool guy.
<v Speaker 2>He came up to me and said he could have
<v Speaker 2>had anything in the store he wanted, and no one
<v Speaker 2>would even attempt to stop him. That's true, exactly. I
<v Speaker 2>believe that. I don't believe he was champ yet, but
<v Speaker 2>he was getting close to being popular. I will never
<v Speaker 2>forget that night. That's that's see. That's the good stuff,
<v Speaker 2>these flashes of moments that you could have when it
<v Speaker 2>was so territorial. You know, it's the best part, the best.
<v Speaker 2>He lives in the community. These guys aren't flying to
<v Speaker 2>l A after Hartford. You know, he's going back to
<v Speaker 2>his condo. And if you worked in a store a
<v Speaker 2>restaurant around there, you'd see him all the time. I
<v Speaker 2>think that's fucking hilarious. I told him off. When someone
<v Speaker 2>says I told him off when I was a mechanic
<v Speaker 2>at Seers, everyone couldn't believe what I did, but I
<v Speaker 2>was ready to fight him.
<v Speaker 1>Wrestling podcast. He's a lapsed fan wrestling podcast with Jack
<v Speaker 1>and Carno, m J. Piso.
<v Speaker 2>You probably could have beaten him on the Hulk going
<v Speaker 2>to Sears is something too. They're trying to get something repaired.
<v Speaker 2>That's great. Yes. I used to see a lot of
<v Speaker 2>rustlers hanging out at the Debonair Motel back in the
<v Speaker 2>late seventies and early eighties. Hulk was one of them
<v Speaker 2>as well. It's under the job. Huh the Debonair Motel. Yep, Okay,
<v Speaker 2>I wonder what's going on there. I'm sure nothing untoward,
<v Speaker 2>just getting getting getting uh polished, getting some of that. Yes,
<v Speaker 2>that's right, that's it, that's it polished. Indeed, errat Rama
<v Speaker 2>r another another fucking hotel. He lived in another hotel.
<v Speaker 2>He gave us his address, Mack, you just have I'm
<v Speaker 2>moving another hotel. Brother. Oh, for God's sakes, Terry, you're
<v Speaker 2>living in another goddamn hotel. Brother. I'm not your brother,
<v Speaker 2>I'm your mother, mother or fine the mother. Hey, Terry,
<v Speaker 2>what's going on? Mother? Let me tell you something. Mother. Oh,
<v Speaker 2>here we go again, Terry. Shut the fuck up. All right,
<v Speaker 2>I'm tired. I'm tired. I'm tired. She's tired. You know
<v Speaker 2>what that means, Shut the fuck up. I'm tired. Like
<v Speaker 2>that's that has shut everything down in the Blay House
<v Speaker 2>since he can, since he was in diapers. I'm tired,
<v Speaker 2>Peter Pizza.
<v Speaker 1>Oh.
<v Speaker 2>All right, right right, I'll go make sure the pitching
<v Speaker 2>pitching mount in the backyard is ready for the season again.
<v Speaker 2>All right, I'll go out for a couple hours. All right,
<v Speaker 2>I guess you're tired. Gone, I'm going. I'll leave you alone,
<v Speaker 2>Leave you alone. Please, don't just don't divorce me. Ice cream,
<v Speaker 2>don't divorce me. We had bowl of ice creams from
<v Speaker 2>hershty sauce, simple man, poor guy Vanilla asked him a
<v Speaker 2>little bit of chocolate sauce, and you know, mus be
<v Speaker 2>a cock coroorcher and then I'll eat it anyway. That
<v Speaker 2>still silence at the slightest possibility that he's going to
<v Speaker 2>zigger zag in a way that infuriates Ruth because she's
<v Speaker 2>sick of his ship. Pete. I've had a night. How
<v Speaker 2>many times you heard that in the past ten year,
<v Speaker 2>thirty years? For what?
<v Speaker 5>Now?
<v Speaker 2>I guess you're done? Are you done again? I'm done.
<v Speaker 2>No one's been done more than Ruth. I'm done.
<v Speaker 4>You know what.
<v Speaker 2>I'm okay, I'm done. Down, goes Pete. I'm done. You
<v Speaker 2>clean up your own fucking mess. I'm going out. He does,
<v Speaker 2>and she has like a She goes and gets a
<v Speaker 2>tea at a diner. It comes, then it comes hard.
<v Speaker 2>I'm gonna get me some size of bye.
<v Speaker 1>You go.
<v Speaker 2>Shut the fuck up, Pete. She pulls up at this
<v Speaker 2>on the skyway next to Danny Brower. You gonna do it?
<v Speaker 2>I'm thinking about it. Got this damn me jersey barrier
<v Speaker 2>my way. No elseide a jersey barrier in his way.
<v Speaker 2>In nineteen eighty, Hulk Hogan Cogan huh fucking fucking blockade
<v Speaker 2>and in that fucking state. Someone else remembers drinking all
<v Speaker 2>the time at George and the Animal Steel when he
<v Speaker 2>was in town. Oh my god, someone says, I remember
<v Speaker 2>that when I first saw him sitting there talking and
<v Speaker 2>acting normal, I was confused. I'd be confused to so,
<v Speaker 2>it writes, I believe it. It's all entertainment. I still
<v Speaker 2>watch it all the time. New wrestlers, but still entertaining.
<v Speaker 2>Someone says, Okay, what's that gonna Okay, what's it gonna
<v Speaker 2>do with hul Kogate? All of a sudden, he's gonna
<v Speaker 2>have a can have a moment of a crisis of
<v Speaker 2>confidence about still liking wrestling, and someone else anyone recalled
<v Speaker 2>Dave Schultz doctor d He of the slapping around. John
<v Speaker 2>Stossel of twenty twenty fame taken swings at the west
<v Speaker 2>Haven Little League field four against Aaron Selner and a
<v Speaker 2>softball pitcher in nineteen eighty six. I remember he hit
<v Speaker 2>home runs off both after striking out against both as well.
<v Speaker 2>Sounds like some kind of a charity softball game. Boss.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah yeah. Surprice Health never participated in one of those,
<v Speaker 2>he being the home run over the trees kid. Yeah.
<v Speaker 2>Someone says, whats Haven Little League was promoting a wrestling
<v Speaker 2>event at west Haven High School. He was coming down
<v Speaker 2>from Morse Park to hit off a girl's pitcher. After
<v Speaker 2>a few swings, I asked if he would like to
<v Speaker 2>try to hit off a boys pitcher, and he agreed.
<v Speaker 2>Aaron Selner threw a few past him, I do not
<v Speaker 2>remember Schultz taking Sellner deep though. Yeah, well that's how
<v Speaker 2>it goes. That's those classic local lies. I remember he
<v Speaker 2>hit a ball that one about three quarters of a
<v Speaker 2>way across the basketball court. I was eleven and Aaron
<v Speaker 2>was twelve. Seemed like he hit a ball a mile
<v Speaker 2>off of the pitching god of Little League. To me, hmm,
<v Speaker 2>sounds like Terry heard about that and made that his
<v Speaker 2>own story. He used to come into my father's pharmacy.
<v Speaker 2>This is Terry at Campbell and Center. All the old
<v Speaker 2>school guys would come in. My brother and I had
<v Speaker 2>all their autographs lost to time. The wrestlers would stay
<v Speaker 2>at the Yankee Inn and would come into Ronan's Diner
<v Speaker 2>on the weekends for breakfast before going to the New
<v Speaker 2>Haven Coliseum for their matches. Someone else's hul Cogan and
<v Speaker 2>others lived at Rolling Ridge apartments on Molloy Road. A
<v Speaker 2>lot of places to go check out. They lived in
<v Speaker 2>the apartments on Sawmill Road. That's the big one. That's
<v Speaker 2>the one that Cayman comes up the most. Friend of
<v Speaker 2>mine's little brother was friends with some of their kids.
<v Speaker 2>They also would frequent the seven eleven. Oh god, we
<v Speaker 2>were going before WB became a thing someone else right.
<v Speaker 2>He lived in Stamford as well. He was around the
<v Speaker 2>corner from us. He had a beautiful property there in
<v Speaker 2>the waterfront. Must be gun Club Road later later after Yeah,
<v Speaker 2>someone said that had to be after he got his
<v Speaker 2>big break. Someone says he used to go I'm telling
<v Speaker 2>you and I was back in seventy seven. I remember
<v Speaker 2>him living there in seventy seven. He used to walk
<v Speaker 2>around with a mask on. He used to call himself
<v Speaker 2>Sterling Golden back then that he used to say w
<v Speaker 2>W was his super employer. I remember that too. Oh god,
<v Speaker 2>you know one time he shaved my legs. You know,
<v Speaker 2>one time he shoved the needle in my ass, or
<v Speaker 2>maybe I shoved it in his, one of the two.
<v Speaker 2>Those are the days he used to go to my
<v Speaker 2>uncle's garage on Columbus Avenue. My uncle had a wrestling
<v Speaker 2>ring inside his mechanic shop. That explains it. Oh my god,
<v Speaker 2>what what the fuck? I believe a few wrestlers lived
<v Speaker 2>on Grove Place in the shore. They would be down
<v Speaker 2>the beach all the time. I think it was the
<v Speaker 2>Wild Samoans and that crew. I remember, just big dudes
<v Speaker 2>with long, crazy hair. Someone else raised. Bob Backlan lived
<v Speaker 2>in that area. Also. I believe they used to wrestle
<v Speaker 2>somewhere in Hamden. If I'm not mistaken, he's growing up
<v Speaker 2>on Grove Place. My sister babysat for Bud Stefanski, a Nighthawk.
<v Speaker 2>I don't know what that's about. Okay, Yes, he lived
<v Speaker 2>at Rolling Ridge, they say of Terry with a lot
<v Speaker 2>of the wrestlers, Iron Cheek, Magnificent Morocco, mister Fuji, no
<v Speaker 2>Wonder Eddie Andandelman thinks Don Morocco is from Newton because
<v Speaker 2>he probably lived there at some point on this Ye.
<v Speaker 2>I heard he was a regular at Pizza Palace. Yeah,
<v Speaker 2>that's a safe pet. Bob Becklan was also a West
<v Speaker 2>Haven resident too. Yeah, he's never left Connecticut. That's true,
<v Speaker 2>Bob Backlin, that's true. When I was younger, an elderly
<v Speaker 2>neighbor who worked an Armstrong told me he used to
<v Speaker 2>see Hogan all the time. I forgot about this story
<v Speaker 2>till I saw this post. Someone says the wild Samoans
<v Speaker 2>lived in Hamden. Someone says my mom said he used
<v Speaker 2>to pop in Valley's Steakhouse often, where she worked. Most
<v Speaker 2>of the wrestling stars did at that time. Okay, he
<v Speaker 2>had like a dozen back surgeries. Someone offers back then too. Okay,
<v Speaker 2>I did see him working, Yeah, nineteen eighty he had
<v Speaker 2>like three three dozen back surgeries. I did see him
<v Speaker 2>working at Stopping Chopping Orange. He came in late one night,
<v Speaker 2>very late, and bought all dairy items. Apparently that's what
<v Speaker 2>he did late night dairy runs. I bagged his groceries
<v Speaker 2>for him. This is probably che dude. It's the same
<v Speaker 2>guy reposting milk and cheese. Brother some rights. Okay, I'm
<v Speaker 2>going to date myself Hogan, Chief j Strongbow and his brother.
<v Speaker 2>That's kind of weird. I mean, you can date yourself Jesus.
<v Speaker 2>Terry Bowley dated Tolkiogan at one point, Chief A Strongbow,
<v Speaker 2>his brother Jules ivan Putsky, the Wildson Owens all worked
<v Speaker 2>out at the now extinct European Health Spa and Hamden
<v Speaker 2>that I worked out in. Others did as well, but
<v Speaker 2>those were the names I remember. Did they live lit
<v Speaker 2>Loui Albano in that he didn't in that one. No,
<v Speaker 2>not the workout. I'll get good, I definitely say good.
<v Speaker 2>That's definitely not. That's how you know. Don't be doing
<v Speaker 2>that little a little man and definitely did not do
<v Speaker 2>that shit. I worked at Denny's restaurant, served several wrestlers
<v Speaker 2>while I worked there, someone else as my wife and
<v Speaker 2>I in a late night in Orange, Connecticut, ran it
<v Speaker 2>to Hulk and a diner. It was after he had
<v Speaker 2>a match in the New Haven Coliseum. He and a
<v Speaker 2>couple of his friends were with him. We could not
<v Speaker 2>believe the size of him. The table was overloaded with food.
<v Speaker 2>That's right, that's right. What's wrong with that? Absolutely? Mister
<v Speaker 2>Fuji also lived along the Shore and West Haven about
<v Speaker 2>the same time. I had heard rumors Jimmy Superfly Snook
<v Speaker 2>also had a home, but I never saw him. Good story.
<v Speaker 2>Sergeants Slaughter and Hulk Cogan came into my Sergeants Slaughter
<v Speaker 2>and Hulk Covin came into my dad's gas station multiple
<v Speaker 2>times for gas, et cetera on Sawmill Road. I mean
<v Speaker 2>they does that mean what I think it was? Or
<v Speaker 2>are they actually going for gas? Never knew they were
<v Speaker 2>going to get gas. You're gonna get gas, all right,
<v Speaker 2>but I know they would stay at the Demon Air
<v Speaker 2>in West Haven, so that was that was the spot
<v Speaker 2>him and some of the others would go down Chuck's
<v Speaker 2>gas station when it was on Campbell Avenue. He said
<v Speaker 2>he would have to duck his head when he came
<v Speaker 2>through the door. My dad said he used to see
<v Speaker 2>him at seven eleven all the time. He was a
<v Speaker 2>villain and wrestling back then. We used to go and
<v Speaker 2>hang in the parking lot of their apartments on saw
<v Speaker 2>Mill Road. Hulk Coke hanging and banging, hanging and banging
<v Speaker 2>on saw Mill Road. Dude, Hulk Cogan, Chief j Strongbow,
<v Speaker 2>Billy White Wolf, and several others. I actually saw HULTK
<v Speaker 2>Cogan in Sears once fucking Sears. I worked in Hampden Sears.
<v Speaker 2>That's the second person seeing them in the Sears early
<v Speaker 2>eighties on Treadwell Street World Gym. Was there, met every
<v Speaker 2>restler there, Simon's hul Jimmy Snooke's dude. Oh what steakhouse Dudent.
<v Speaker 2>I don't know. Got the wrong guy, He got the
<v Speaker 2>wrong giant guy. Brother. Maybe maybe got Terry boleg in
<v Speaker 2>this Sears been a series. I'll shop a series. What
<v Speaker 2>are you mm hmm? You followed me, brother, good life,
<v Speaker 2>good life at a great price? Is that guaranteed?
<v Speaker 1>Dude?
<v Speaker 2>You you watch me getting appliances. Brother, you watched me
<v Speaker 2>getting appliances, dude, I said, I said I was coming
<v Speaker 2>at some gear. Dude, What did you think I meant?
<v Speaker 2>I'm getting the first gear right now, brother, he says
<v Speaker 2>to the guy, you watch me get appliances, dude, like
<v Speaker 2>a guy standing there watching him by appliances tremendous. I
<v Speaker 2>just happened to be in the store at the same
<v Speaker 2>time you watch me, dude. Huh. I guess I didn't
<v Speaker 2>mean to. As Connecticut accent my living again, my dad
<v Speaker 2>worked at seven eleven and saw Mill, I've already it's
<v Speaker 2>already becoming a thing. I fucking can't handle the amount
<v Speaker 2>of people who've owned gas stations and fucking worked seven
<v Speaker 2>eleven and other convenience stories of fucking saw mill Jesus Christ,
<v Speaker 2>saw Mill Road, Sawmill Road, the next to the saw
<v Speaker 2>Mill Parkway. Yeah, probably at night. All come in at night.
<v Speaker 2>I had another was seven eleven back then on saw Mill.
<v Speaker 2>Someone writes, yeap next to Duncan, next to D and D.
<v Speaker 2>Someone writes, oh my god, so the grocery store there
<v Speaker 2>now used to be a seven eleven. Yes, they all
<v Speaker 2>used to go to Duchess Diner. Oh, Okay, duchess diner. Man,
<v Speaker 2>I know duchess. I know duchess. You don't have hold on,
<v Speaker 2>I got it because I think of I think duchess chicken.
<v Speaker 2>I think is one of the duchess good enough of
<v Speaker 2>stuff like this? Man is too good? Oh? Look at
<v Speaker 2>this duchess diner. Wow? Is it closed closed or is
<v Speaker 2>it just closed for the night. Nope, it's open. It's
<v Speaker 2>a regular, it's still around Dutchess diner. Is that their
<v Speaker 2>ringers roost? Perhaps that's the Uh. Let's see here, Let's
<v Speaker 2>see what we can get about the duchess diner here,
<v Speaker 2>the west Haven Duchess Diner, dinerant, the dinerrant is what
<v Speaker 2>it sells? WHOA that sounds that's like more than your
<v Speaker 2>typical diner. That is indeed the west Haven Dutchess dinorant. Dave.
<v Speaker 2>All right, let's see here. What do we have? What
<v Speaker 2>do we have on the menu? Uh, the breakfast vi
<v Speaker 2>P corner. We have a big boy breakfast with it's
<v Speaker 2>your typical big you know, two eggs and home fries, toes, sausage, bacon,
<v Speaker 2>and a short stack of pancakes or shortstack sortunches pancakes
<v Speaker 2>short stag. Brothers had short stacks, he said brother in
<v Speaker 2>there he had a brother, and then repeating his daughter,
<v Speaker 2>I got brother. You got that breakfast poutine, dude, disco
<v Speaker 2>fries with bacon, topped with three eggs and a side
<v Speaker 2>of toast steak and eggs, country fried steak eggs. Now
<v Speaker 2>we're talking chicken waffles, breakfast panini that that was probably
<v Speaker 2>not around back then. With two eggs, fried fried hard
<v Speaker 2>with avocado, tomato, bacon and cheddar cheese on panini bread
<v Speaker 2>that breakfast cassadias and home fries probably not around then.
<v Speaker 2>Loaded home fries, house special almonds. Here we go. The
<v Speaker 2>duchess omelet saute onions, potatoes, ham, sausage, tomato and Swiss cheese.
<v Speaker 2>Is the duches. You did it. You nailed it. You
<v Speaker 2>nailed the essence of the place. Let's get it. The
<v Speaker 2>Italian Bomb, Italian sausage, bacon, peppers and onions with mozzarella cheese,
<v Speaker 2>and I got the Italian bomb. The bomb. We've got
<v Speaker 2>a Greek omelet with beef hero, beef hero, tomato, onions
<v Speaker 2>and feta cheese with English muffin. Beef Hero would also
<v Speaker 2>be Hogan's future. I don't know. What makes an English
<v Speaker 2>muffin go with a Greek omelet? But whatever, you had
<v Speaker 2>your vegetarian omelet, which is typical West Coast Island with
<v Speaker 2>avocado tomato. I love how West Coast has always got
<v Speaker 2>avocado on it, like it's it's like, okay, a little obnoxious.
<v Speaker 2>It's a little obnoxious. Steak and cheese omelet, Spanish omelet, Okay,
<v Speaker 2>here we go. This is Spanish olmelet with Mexican cheriso
<v Speaker 2>for tito. So it's not it's not Spanish. It's Mexican omelet.
<v Speaker 2>Nothing to do with Spain, my friends, because Mexicans cheriso,
<v Speaker 2>hallepenon peppers, onions, tomato, chettar, cheese and salsa. So it's
<v Speaker 2>like not Spanish at all. Charisa is up there? What
<v Speaker 2>Charisa is a Spanish No, it's Mexicans, not Spanish. You're well,
<v Speaker 2>there's Mexican cherisa as well. Oh sure there is. There's
<v Speaker 2>there's Mexican everything, because it all came from Spain, the
<v Speaker 2>same Mexican cherisa or beans. Sure. Fine, well again then
<v Speaker 2>then just say cherisa, it's fine. But whatever. Anyway, Oh god,
<v Speaker 2>all right, maybe you'd like this one smoked salmon omelet. Sure, no,
<v Speaker 2>I don't like eggs. I don't like I can't have
<v Speaker 2>I can't have it hot like, that's just that's I mean, listen,
<v Speaker 2>I don't I don't like locks. Okay, I don't like fish.
<v Speaker 2>But there's no way you're gonna eat fish in an omelet,
<v Speaker 2>all right, that's just vile. Well, I don't know Terry
<v Speaker 2>liked the on tuna bitude? What I want? I guess
<v Speaker 2>he's I don't know what does he say he wants?
<v Speaker 2>He goes to the kitchen. What the omelet? What the
<v Speaker 2>fuck is a tuna omelet? I don't have to tell
<v Speaker 2>you about you know what this guy's because this guy's
<v Speaker 2>big on tuna. I don't know what you want from me.
<v Speaker 2>This guy's big on tuna, big on tuna. To I'm
<v Speaker 2>not gonna make a tunon homlet. Fucking clown? What does
<v Speaker 2>he thinking? He runs a place? What is he? What?
<v Speaker 2>That's good? Oh that's how you say it. I've worked
<v Speaker 2>here three years. We got just he's like, by the
<v Speaker 2>way he's he called him a fucking clown. Thick guy
<v Speaker 2>was doing. He's called this clown clown. Uh, there's a
<v Speaker 2>low calama. Maybe he would have had this one sliced turkey. No, no,
<v Speaker 2>he have had the tomato Oh cow omelet, thank you.
<v Speaker 2>Probably BBC omelet, which is broccoli, bacon and cheddar. Go
<v Speaker 2>on here the meat lovers. Brooke could not have the
<v Speaker 2>BBC on absolute Brook, Fuck you Brook. We've got the
<v Speaker 2>hungry Man's grinder here, elious, it's fucking it's it's a
<v Speaker 2>booker t and what it is Two eggs, bacon, sausage,
<v Speaker 2>home fries and American cheese on a grinder roll uh
<v Speaker 2>a steak and cheese, saying a hero and two eggs
<v Speaker 2>and cheese on a pet of bread. Wow, this is wild.
<v Speaker 2>Might break that one, might break your ankle if you're
<v Speaker 2>not careful. Now we got the Benedicts Classic Benedict smoked
<v Speaker 2>salmon Irish Benedict, which is with the cornby Fast. I
<v Speaker 2>like that every now and again. And then we got
<v Speaker 2>the California Benedict, which is two poast eggs with avocado
<v Speaker 2>and slice tomatoes on top of a toasted English muffin
<v Speaker 2>with holland Aiss sauce for the duches. I don't mind it,
<v Speaker 2>I'll tell you. And you got breakfast wraps. This fucking menu. Listen,
<v Speaker 2>this is this is a. This is a big ass
<v Speaker 2>fucking and this is a diner menu. Let alone the fun. Listen,
<v Speaker 2>that's just breakfast. Let alone, Holy ship. It just keeps
<v Speaker 2>going and going. I mean, it's you. It's your typical
<v Speaker 2>typical like I think I think we get the idea. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
<v Speaker 2>oh I guess. Hold on, hold on, I gotta I
<v Speaker 2>gotta find I gotta find what they offer for tuna.
<v Speaker 2>That's that's that is.
<v Speaker 1>On.
<v Speaker 2>So let's sit here. No tuna appetizer. I don't think
<v Speaker 2>they had bowls back then. That's a newer thing. Yeah,
<v Speaker 2>let's see here duchess favorites. Uh no, nothing there. Mmmm.
<v Speaker 2>He was big on tuna tuna.
<v Speaker 1>At that time.
<v Speaker 2>We've got a tuna salad wrap here, tuna melt. We
<v Speaker 2>got a tuna melt Deluxe. So it's tuna salad with
<v Speaker 2>melts and cheese and bacon on on pewa bread of
<v Speaker 2>all things. How do you have a fucking melt on
<v Speaker 2>pea bread that makes no sense, makes no fucking sense. Uh,
<v Speaker 2>Tuna salad sandwich deluxe, which has been a lettice, tomato
<v Speaker 2>fries and coal. Slow, okay, okay, what's a what's a
<v Speaker 2>b L T Deluxe, then if the the Deluxe is
<v Speaker 2>lettuce and tomato, but they have a BLT Deluxe as well. Okay,
<v Speaker 2>here we go here whenever we got I'm looking for
<v Speaker 2>platters here, Yeah, platters. I don't think she's at the Duchess.
<v Speaker 2>Oh that's true, A good pointing one of the duchess
<v Speaker 2>per se. But there we go. So that's what he
<v Speaker 2>would have gotten at the Duchess. Delicious two options. So excited? Also,
<v Speaker 2>uh Savoldi's yep? Okay. I saw him on I saw
<v Speaker 2>him seven eleven and saw Mill Road. Yeah. Someone said
<v Speaker 2>his front seat was in the back. I don't know
<v Speaker 2>what that means. Brother just had to push it back
<v Speaker 2>so much. Okay, maybe he lived three blocks behind us
<v Speaker 2>on Long Island around nineteen eighty five. That doesn't sound right.
<v Speaker 2>My mother worked as a waitress at Orange Seafood Diner
<v Speaker 2>on Boston Post Road. Hulkgan and a few of the
<v Speaker 2>wrestlers were there every day. After training. He used to
<v Speaker 2>come into the Harley shop. I can see that when
<v Speaker 2>it was in Stamford. My understanding was he lived close by.
<v Speaker 2>Can you Stratford? It says here, can you imagine Hulk
<v Speaker 2>walking into a Harley shop and Jesus Christ. He used
<v Speaker 2>to go to Goldstein's. We've got a wide lie, brother,
<v Speaker 2>we got going on here, dude. He even riel, I'll
<v Speaker 2>get a hog Are you hog wild? Dude?
<v Speaker 4>No?
<v Speaker 2>Why not exactly, that's the next logical question. You used
<v Speaker 2>to go to Goldstein's on Campbell Avenue at least once
<v Speaker 2>a week. My ex bought his old Harley Interesting. He
<v Speaker 2>used to live in Orange Landing across from the Meadow Brook.
<v Speaker 2>Ran into him at the post office. I saw him
<v Speaker 2>on Duncan Donuts and Sawmill Road. David Schultz lived in
<v Speaker 2>West Haven. Used to see him at wah Wahs on
<v Speaker 2>Route thirty four. My grandmother lived in the same apartment building.
<v Speaker 2>There was a bunch of them that lived there. She
<v Speaker 2>used to cook for them when they were home. My
<v Speaker 2>Gram's cooked for everybody. I was a kid, but I
<v Speaker 2>remembered the building used to be right across from the
<v Speaker 2>Shell gas station. I ran into one at Lighthouse Park Beach.
<v Speaker 2>Can't remember his name, but he was a jobber. He
<v Speaker 2>came into Denny's on Sawmill Road once while I was
<v Speaker 2>working there, and then we'd come across someone by the
<v Speaker 2>name if Well, I don't need to name. It says
<v Speaker 2>they used to go to the debonair and Hulk Cogan
<v Speaker 2>aka Terry Bolea, Yes, used to go out with my
<v Speaker 2>girlfriend's sister. What we haven't gotten to Linda, yet, But
<v Speaker 2>were there perhaps some other flames? Of course there were
<v Speaker 2>in Hulk's life. I mean, of course that all of
<v Speaker 2>these people from his background, you know that we've interviewed
<v Speaker 2>on the show, talk about all these other girlfriends that
<v Speaker 2>he'd of course never mentioned in his first book because
<v Speaker 2>he was still married then. But the second book is
<v Speaker 2>post divorce, and all of a sudden, he's got all
<v Speaker 2>these others. Of a sudden, he's got some he's got
<v Speaker 2>some tang going on. And during this big transition from
<v Speaker 2>the South up to New York, Terry's heartstrings to some
<v Speaker 2>degree were with Donna in Tampa. Oh Donna, let's turn
<v Speaker 2>the book two. All my wrestling career was starting to
<v Speaker 2>take off, my personal life was kind of floundering. Now,
<v Speaker 2>First of all, I was never a girl mag the
<v Speaker 2>type of guy. If I had one of those gorgeous
<v Speaker 2>movie star faces, it would have been different both. Be honest,
<v Speaker 2>my body looked good, but I was balding, and the
<v Speaker 2>best thing I would say about my face is I'm
<v Speaker 2>brutally handsome, good uniform, bad helmet. Fuck. I was also
<v Speaker 2>still portraying a bad guy in the wrestling world, so
<v Speaker 2>even wrestling fan women have this misconception that I was
<v Speaker 2>some kind of crazy, mean dude. I didn't exactly get
<v Speaker 2>the girls flocking to me, you know. I didn't get
<v Speaker 2>jealous of the other guys who seemed to land a
<v Speaker 2>different girl every night though that was my style. After all,
<v Speaker 2>I had what I thought was a steady girl back home.
<v Speaker 2>I met Donna toward the end of my band days
<v Speaker 2>down Tampa, and she was by far the hottest girl
<v Speaker 2>I've ever been with. You know, we made quite the pair.
<v Speaker 2>We both had matching long blonde hair. We're both tan,
<v Speaker 2>brother you know, we're both even say I had a
<v Speaker 2>bad end, Okay, but he did say they had long
<v Speaker 2>blood hair. The long blood hair is legit. That's legit
<v Speaker 2>in there.
<v Speaker 4>You know.
<v Speaker 2>We started dating and how this thing going on for years.
<v Speaker 2>If she never wanted to come on the road with me,
<v Speaker 2>that just wasn't her style. So I would see her
<v Speaker 2>in between road trips while I was in Alabama, Memphis
<v Speaker 2>and all the way through my start with the wwwe.
<v Speaker 2>I wasn't real sure, to be honest, whether she was
<v Speaker 2>dating other guys in between or not. I didn't really
<v Speaker 2>think about it anyway. By nineteen seventy nine, it seemed
<v Speaker 2>like the most serious relationship was probably ever gonna find
<v Speaker 2>for myself. So I help and ask don her to
<v Speaker 2>marry me, and she said yes. Brother. I gave her
<v Speaker 2>a nice engagement ring, whole deal, but something just was engaged.
<v Speaker 2>He was engaged. I can't handle that. I could feel it,
<v Speaker 2>but I never want to admit it. You know, in
<v Speaker 2>some ways I was still so naive. I didn't I
<v Speaker 2>don't think I knew how to have a real relationship.
<v Speaker 2>You know. One thing started, one thing started to take
<v Speaker 2>off for me in New York, Donna seemed to get
<v Speaker 2>more and more distant, even if she didn't want to
<v Speaker 2>hit the road with me. I thought she'd want to
<v Speaker 2>come see me at Madison Square Garden at least something. Nope,
<v Speaker 2>she just was not into the whole wrestling line style.
<v Speaker 2>She wanted to stay in Tampa. And so did you, dude.
<v Speaker 2>I wonder why you were attracted to her. Yeah, right,
<v Speaker 2>I understood that it wasn't for McMahon's big push I
<v Speaker 2>had planned on staying in Tampa myself. I came back
<v Speaker 2>on Christmas that year, and Donna basically started to fight
<v Speaker 2>with me, And we're gonna have a way of doing that,
<v Speaker 2>don't they? Oh? Yes, yeah, right, you know she told
<v Speaker 2>me did not even bother coming back for New Year,
<v Speaker 2>So of course the first thing I did was make
<v Speaker 2>sure I showed up for New Year's I walked into
<v Speaker 2>her apartment and found her sitting on the sofa there
<v Speaker 2>with her arm around this guy from the Tampa Bay
<v Speaker 2>Buccaneers football player. I wonder if you all got the
<v Speaker 2>gun that night. Of all the guys she could have picked, right, Yeah,
<v Speaker 2>she picked a real athlete. Yeah, I don't blame her.
<v Speaker 2>I walked over to the engagement ring off her finger,
<v Speaker 2>so she said, why would you wear the engagement ring?
<v Speaker 2>And she's sucking another guy and slipping in the other hand.
<v Speaker 2>You're free, I said, see you later, and I walked
<v Speaker 2>out the door. Oh man, something tells me Donna has
<v Speaker 2>a totally different version of the yes if her name
<v Speaker 2>right exactly see purposely misspells almost every name in the book. Yep,
<v Speaker 2>the whole thing was so weird. I can't imagine actually
<v Speaker 2>being married to Donna, and I was so naive about
<v Speaker 2>love and marriage and sex and relationships. I had to
<v Speaker 2>put a ring on that girl's finger even though we
<v Speaker 2>were totally incompatible. What was I thinking? I'm just glad
<v Speaker 2>at any what it did. On a side note, just
<v Speaker 2>to show what a small town Tampa really is. Years later,
<v Speaker 2>Donna worked for the Avis rent a car at the
<v Speaker 2>Tampa Airport, so IBVIO see her every single time I
<v Speaker 2>flew in or out of town. You know, why would
<v Speaker 2>you have a fucking rented card in Tampa? Why would
<v Speaker 2>you have your own Cardampa? And why would you be
<v Speaker 2>working every day you happen to fly in or out
<v Speaker 2>right right unless you're fucking here, But like, why would
<v Speaker 2>you rent a car in Tampa? Like that's your home base?
<v Speaker 2>You know, just take a gab, like what are you
<v Speaker 2>doing right exactly? Or something like right? Like would you
<v Speaker 2>rent a car and then bring it where would you
<v Speaker 2>return it? Fucking weird to me. Eventually she married the
<v Speaker 2>owner of that local AV spot. If they had kid,
<v Speaker 2>and that kid one of the same school as my kids,
<v Speaker 2>So I saw don almost every day. It was spooky.
<v Speaker 2>I'm starting to wonder about this. Yeah, right in some ways,
<v Speaker 2>letting go of Donna allowed me to concentrate fully on
<v Speaker 2>my wrestling career in New York. I didn't feel that
<v Speaker 2>pool to get back to Florida quite so often, even
<v Speaker 2>though I still consider it my home. But again, it's
<v Speaker 2>such a town, he write, he can never like he's
<v Speaker 2>still obsessing over like who people are, but what people
<v Speaker 2>are doing in Tampa with their personal lives. Exactly. He
<v Speaker 2>still wants to know who's who, what's what, who's buying?
<v Speaker 2>Get out of the room exactly, cannot get out of
<v Speaker 2>his mind. Now. I mentioned the commenter who said that
<v Speaker 2>Hulk went out with his girlfriend's sister. Yes, same commenter
<v Speaker 2>had another point, but I found rather interesting. Uh huh,
<v Speaker 2>he says, quote he Terry used to go yeah to
<v Speaker 2>doctor Lebowitz Washington Avenue before the commenter writes he got
<v Speaker 2>arrested for prescriptions. What at first I thought he meant
<v Speaker 2>Terry Boulaya got arrested for prescriptions. There's no record of that,
<v Speaker 2>but no doctor Lebowitz doctor as he calls him. Also
<v Speaker 2>feel good. Yes, The Morning Record in Journal Maria Kid
<v Speaker 2>January twenty fifth, nineteen eighty directly coincident with the time
<v Speaker 2>period we're talking about directly coincident with Terry Packing headline.
<v Speaker 2>Doctor held on drug count west Haven, Connecticut dateline. A

<v Speaker 2>twenty four, of West Haven, who was charged with distribution

<v Speaker 2>came into the office. Ber Loodi said. A third suspect,

<v Speaker 2>with a hot doc for Terry the hot boulder fucking
<v Speaker 2>love it doctor faces drug count January twenty fifth, the
<v Speaker 2>day nineteen eighty, forty four year old family physician Big
<v Speaker 2>thumbs up. I believe George of Horrian was a family
<v Speaker 2>physician as well, was arrested. It's always fucking phil Aston
<v Speaker 2>was a forty four year old family physician was arrested
<v Speaker 2>Thursday at his office on drug charge as a judging
<v Speaker 2>that he sold cocaine. State Police reported two other persons
<v Speaker 2>also were arrested following a three month undercover investigation that
<v Speaker 2>led to the issuance of the arrest warrant for doctor Lebowitz.
<v Speaker 2>According to a state police spokesman, Lebowitz, who lives in
<v Speaker 2>New Haven, as a general practitioner known as Mike Lebowitz.
<v Speaker 2>He specializes in family and sports medicine. He was charged
<v Speaker 2>with sale of narcotic substance, possession of a narcotic substance,
<v Speaker 2>and distribution of a controlled substance. Libowitz posted five thousand
<v Speaker 2>dollars bond and was released until his court appearance. State
<v Speaker 2>police raided his West Haven office with an arrest warrant
<v Speaker 2>naming Lebowitz in a search warrant. Authority said they also
<v Speaker 2>arrested Ray Celentano, twenty two, of West Haven, who happened
<v Speaker 2>to be in the doctor's office at the time. Missus
<v Speaker 2>Celentano is the daughter of west Haven Police Commissioner Joseph Calentano. Celentano, Yes, indeed,
<v Speaker 2>the police commissioner's daughter. Isn't there getting stuff from the
<v Speaker 2>good doctor? Yes, the same doctor that apparently Hulk made
<v Speaker 2>tracks to upon moving to west Haven. She was charged
<v Speaker 2>with possession of small amounts of cocaine and marijuana, Authority said,
<v Speaker 2>booked at the Bethany State Police Barracks and released without
<v Speaker 2>bond until her court appearance later in the afternoon. The
<v Speaker 2>second arrest warran issued at New Haven Superior Court, was
<v Speaker 2>carried out when Ronald A. Verner ram At, twenty four,
<v Speaker 2>of West Haven was arrested at Liebowitz's office and held
<v Speaker 2>on a thousand dollars bond. He was charged with distribution
<v Speaker 2>of a narcotic substance Perkadan, a tranquilizer, and with possession
<v Speaker 2>of less than announced of marijuana. Police at Liebowitz has
<v Speaker 2>served as team physician for West Haven High School, Big
<v Speaker 2>thumbs up Man of the community, the University of New Haven,
<v Speaker 2>the West Haven Yankees of the Eastern League, and now
<v Speaker 2>the defunct and the now defunct New Haven Blades hockey team.
<v Speaker 2>State police weren't able to provide dates for the scheduled
<v Speaker 2>court appearance later on in September of nineteen eighty three.
<v Speaker 2>After this thing meanders its way through the courts, date
<v Speaker 2>lied New Haven. A physician specializing in sports medicine could
<v Speaker 2>face up to twenty two years in prison when he
<v Speaker 2>is sent ince October twenty eighth on a two count
<v Speaker 2>drug conviction. Doctor Mike Leebowitz, forty eight, of Eastaven, was
<v Speaker 2>convicted Friday of distribution of cocaine and possession of cocaine.
<v Speaker 2>His lawyer set a decision on whether to repeal the
<v Speaker 2>conviction will be made after the sentencing. Liebwitz re means
<v Speaker 2>free on ten thousand dollars bond. A jury of three
<v Speaker 2>men and three women returned the guilty verdict Friday after
<v Speaker 2>less than three hours deliberations. Authorities testified during the trial
<v Speaker 2>that Liebowitz gave zero point zero two grams of cocaine
<v Speaker 2>to an undercover police woman on November twenty seventh, nineteen
<v Speaker 2>seventy nine, Just as Hulk is Rolling In, Just as
<v Speaker 2>Hulk is Rolling In. It was arrested in January nineteen eighty.
<v Speaker 2>One point twenty five grams of the drug were discovered
<v Speaker 2>in his pocket during a search of his office and apartment.
<v Speaker 2>The physician contended that the substance was pharmaceutical cocaine obtained
<v Speaker 2>for the treatment of patients.
<v Speaker 1>What what.
<v Speaker 2>Pharmaceutical cocaine? The distribution charges carries a maximum sentence of
<v Speaker 2>fifteen years, while the possession charge has a maximum sentence
<v Speaker 2>of seven years. I'm sure he's just getting it. We're
<v Speaker 2>going to We're going to see the fucking legalization of
<v Speaker 2>medical cocaine. Yeah, waiting for that. I wonder if he
<v Speaker 2>felt he had to give it to his patients because
<v Speaker 2>they kept getting this mislabeled cocaine from the black markets
<v Speaker 2>in Mexico. He had not to poison themselves. Nineteen eighty
<v Speaker 2>four women testified doctor gave them drugs. A West Haven
<v Speaker 2>doctor supplied two women with narcotics in exchange four sex sex.
<v Speaker 2>According to the women's sworn statements, which were introduced Tuesday
<v Speaker 2>at a hearing to consider revoking the doctor's medical license.
<v Speaker 2>Doctor Leeboitz, forty eight, was convicted in November of possessing
<v Speaker 2>cocaine and giving some to an undercover police agent. He
<v Speaker 2>did not appear at the hearing before the State Board
<v Speaker 2>of Medical Examiner, nor was he represented by an attorney.
<v Speaker 2>The women's statements, which were given to the state police
<v Speaker 2>four years ago, were accepted as evidence by the board.
<v Speaker 2>It is ninety days to decide whether to revoke Liebowitz's
<v Speaker 2>license or take other disciplinary action. Man, I'm getting George
<v Speaker 2>the hori and deja vous all over again. Christ Leebowitz
<v Speaker 2>was arrested four years ago on two drug charges and
<v Speaker 2>sentenced to New Haven's suit two months ago to six
<v Speaker 2>months in prison with five years probation in order to
<v Speaker 2>obtain psychiatric treatment. He remains free on ten thousand dollars
<v Speaker 2>bond while this conviction is appealed. State health officials said
<v Speaker 2>their last report on West Haven doctor was that he
<v Speaker 2>had closed his practice and was in California. He had
<v Speaker 2>not applied for a medical license in California and held
<v Speaker 2>no other medical license. They said, now we know why
<v Speaker 2>Fred Blassie found alt cocain in California. Boss the State
<v Speaker 2>Department of Health Service listed nine charges against Liebowitz and
<v Speaker 2>its formal complaint Tuesday, including illegal drug possession and prescribing
<v Speaker 2>a number of narcotic drugs. State investigators presented the statements
<v Speaker 2>from two Massachusetts sisters. Health department officials said the women
<v Speaker 2>had said last July they would not come to Connecticut
<v Speaker 2>to testify against Lebowitz because they had been threatened with
<v Speaker 2>injury if they did so. According to the statements, the
<v Speaker 2>older sister, now twenty five, told the police in nineteen
<v Speaker 2>eighty that she had known Liebuwitz for several years and
<v Speaker 2>had met him through a third sister. She told the
<v Speaker 2>police that the third sister was getting drugs from Lebowitz,
<v Speaker 2>and that after a visit to his office by both
<v Speaker 2>of them, the doctor had rented a motel room for them.
<v Speaker 2>He came over that night and had intercourse with them both,
<v Speaker 2>she told the police yep. In her statement, the older
<v Speaker 2>sister said she received a number of prescription drugs during
<v Speaker 2>that visit and during several subsequent ones. She also said
<v Speaker 2>that on January second, nineteen eighty, while Terry was otherwise
<v Speaker 2>occupied on a New Jersey turnpike, she and a younger sister,
<v Speaker 2>now twenty three, flew from Massachusetts to New Haven for
<v Speaker 2>an abortion that Liebowitz arranged at Illew Haven Hospital. At
<v Speaker 2>that time, Liebowitz was under surveillance by members of the
<v Speaker 2>statewide Narcotics Task Force for over prescribing narcotics. The sisters
<v Speaker 2>stayed with Liebowitz in his North Haven apartment for several days,
<v Speaker 2>she told the police, and then met two other men
<v Speaker 2>and spent a night with them. Leebowitz came to get
<v Speaker 2>them and was angry that they had moved out, she said.
<v Speaker 2>The statement described several threats and assaults on the two
<v Speaker 2>women by Lebowitz and another man that persuaded the women
<v Speaker 2>to call the local police, who then notified the state
<v Speaker 2>police Narcotics Task Force. On January eleventh, nineteen eighty, The
<v Speaker 2>statement from the thirty two year old sister said Liebowitz
<v Speaker 2>paid the air forces of both women and gave them
<v Speaker 2>bottles of the sedative drug Kaylude. And that's the must
<v Speaker 2>Jesus cruel, lamentable tragedy of world class nostalgia right there
<v Speaker 2>the quay Los fuck, without giving them any medical examinations,
<v Speaker 2>without any examinations, cash and carry pal Big thumbs up,
<v Speaker 2>State Police Sergeant Angelo F. Tosi of the Narcotics Task
<v Speaker 2>Force told the board that he interviewed Liebowitz January fifteenth,
<v Speaker 2>nineteen eighty while posing as an undercover agent, and the
<v Speaker 2>doctor admitted he supplied the sisters with drugs, had had
<v Speaker 2>sex with them, and thought they were disloyal to him
<v Speaker 2>and dating other men. Another testimony, postal inspector Alan R.
<v Speaker 2>Young said he investigated Libowitz in nineteen seventy nine after
<v Speaker 2>New Haven postal officials said that a disproportionate number of
<v Speaker 2>their employees had been going to Libowitz for injury claims.
<v Speaker 2>Young said he visited Libowitz and told him he had
<v Speaker 2>no injury but wanted time off. Lebowitz did not examine him,
<v Speaker 2>but signed a disability claim and charged him seventy five dollars.
<v Speaker 2>February nineteen eighty four. Doctor offers to surrender license. Westaven
<v Speaker 2>doctor convicted on drug charges in November and accused of
<v Speaker 2>supplying drugs to women in exchange for sex, has offered
<v Speaker 2>to surrender his license to practice in Connecticut. Doctor Liebowit
<v Speaker 2>sent a January twenty third telegram from West Los Angeles, California,
<v Speaker 2>to the state Medical Examining Board, which is considering revoking
<v Speaker 2>his license, Liebuas said, and the Telegraph telegram he was
<v Speaker 2>offering to surrender the license because of quote unnecessary harassment
<v Speaker 2>and unjust treatment. His present license expires July thirty one.
<v Speaker 2>I have taken my hippocratic oath seriously and not as
<v Speaker 2>an average new to riches, the telegram said. Therefore, I
<v Speaker 2>wish to resign my license to practice medicine in the
<v Speaker 2>state of Connecticut, as I do not feel Connecticut as
<v Speaker 2>worthy of my sincere deeds. Leebewood was convicted in November
<v Speaker 2>of possessing cocaine and giving some to an undecover police agent,
<v Speaker 2>and sentenced to six months in prison with five years probation.
<v Speaker 2>He is free on ten thousand dollars bond while appealing
<v Speaker 2>the conviction. The telegram was received after the board conducted
<v Speaker 2>a hearing January twenty fourth, in which sworn statements from
<v Speaker 2>two women were introduced by investigators from the state Department
<v Speaker 2>of Health Services. The women, in statements given in the
<v Speaker 2>state police four years ago, accused the forty eight year
<v Speaker 2>old doctor of supplying them in narcotics in exchange for sex.
<v Speaker 2>They said he threatened and assaulted them after they spent
<v Speaker 2>the night with two other men in West Haven. The
<v Speaker 2>Health Department listed nine charges against Leebowitz and its formal
<v Speaker 2>complaint to the Medical Examining Board, including illegal drug possession,
<v Speaker 2>prescribing a number of narcotic drugs improperly, and falsifying health
<v Speaker 2>insurance records. Liebowitz's offer has no bearing on the Department's
<v Speaker 2>efforts to have the license permanently revoked, and officials said Tuesday,
<v Speaker 2>a state judge has rejected a physician's attempt to force
<v Speaker 2>news reporters to say how they learned in advanced that
<v Speaker 2>the physician would be arrested. Apparently, boss, just like another
<v Speaker 2>sting I could mention of a doctor's office in Pennsylvania.
<v Speaker 2>The media was very much aware that this arrest and
<v Speaker 2>raid was about to happen at the at the office
<v Speaker 2>of doctor Leeboitz. This is insane, doctor Leebowitz. Similarities are
<v Speaker 2>just insane. A West Haven doctor who specializes in sports
<v Speaker 2>medicine sought permission in superior court money to ask several
<v Speaker 2>reporters how they happened to be outside his office when
<v Speaker 2>he was arrested. January twenty fourth. Attorney Hugh Keif claims
<v Speaker 2>that all charge you should be dismissed because the presence
<v Speaker 2>of news reporters and photographers turned the arrest into a
<v Speaker 2>media event. Leeblo Whit's forty four, was charged with distributing
<v Speaker 2>a narcotic substance. Possessing such a s is that a
<v Speaker 2>thing like the media? Is there? Never heard of it?
<v Speaker 2>That seems so weird to me. The most you can argue,
<v Speaker 2>I think, is that you can't get a fair trial
<v Speaker 2>on this in this jurisdiction because you know the government
<v Speaker 2>has made this a media circus. But that doesn't mean
<v Speaker 2>isn't guilty. I don't think. Judge Albert W. Cutella Junior
<v Speaker 2>ruled Monday that Liebowitz's attorney could call three journal courier
<v Speaker 2>reporters to the witness stand, but they could not be
<v Speaker 2>required to answer any questions about information receives on a
<v Speaker 2>confidential basis. Mister doctor feel good. Oh, by the way,
<v Speaker 2>if I'm not mistaken this, doctor Liebowitz. But you want
<v Speaker 2>to talk about you want to talk about parallels? Mm
<v Speaker 2>hmmm hmm. Challenger Kenny Schmidt of Hamden lost his bid
<v Speaker 2>for the New England Heavyweight Championship at Veterans Memorial Coliseum Friday.
<v Speaker 2>Here in New Haven. Nobody is sure how. Champion Diino
<v Speaker 2>Dennis of Provident Rude Island officially won it on a
<v Speaker 2>technical knockout. At the end of the fourth round. Schmidt,
<v Speaker 2>leading on at least two of the three official cards,
<v Speaker 2>was bleeding badly from a Cutover's left eye, and that's
<v Speaker 2>where the mystery comes in. No one could agree on
<v Speaker 2>what caused it. Schmid said he didn't think it was
<v Speaker 2>caused by a Dennis punch, but the ring physician, doctor
<v Speaker 2>Mike Leebowitz, took a look at the end of the
<v Speaker 2>round and stopped to fight. This guy's also basically an
<v Speaker 2>athletic commissioned doctor. Boss. I mean, I don't I don't
<v Speaker 2>even know where to fucking begin. This is this is
<v Speaker 2>this is uncanny. It's fine, yeah, but it's uncanny. Get
<v Speaker 2>me fine, I'm going with you. Came into Daniels one
<v Speaker 2>night while I was working. His friends were dressed for
<v Speaker 2>a club. Hulk came in looking like Paul Bunyan with
<v Speaker 2>the red black flannel shirt, jeans, and tanned work boots. No,
<v Speaker 2>I can't handle that, so we suspended the dress code.
<v Speaker 2>That night, they hung out at the bar, but Hulk
<v Speaker 2>didn't drink. He just stood in the corner like a tree,
<v Speaker 2>and after a couple of hours he left, smiling with
<v Speaker 2>his friends concerning to say the least,
