<v Speaker 5>let's get into the mailbag as we dive into your
<v Speaker 5>questions and comments for the week about this week in wrestling.
<v Speaker 5>I think we all need a week in wrestling and
<v Speaker 5>kind of be able to talk about things that aren't
<v Speaker 5>so life and death or think about them at least,
<v Speaker 5>So let's have some fun. Let's dive into your questions
<v Speaker 5>or in your comments. Let's start with let's start with
<v Speaker 5>David Patron of the show. So thank you, David. He says,
<v Speaker 5>I was very excited about the women's division coming out
<v Speaker 5>of WrestleMania. Tiffany and Eo were the champions on the
<v Speaker 5>respective brands. The mid card belts seem to be in
<v Speaker 5>good hands with Selina Vega holding the United States Championship
<v Speaker 5>and Lyra Valkyrio holding the Intercontinental Championship. The talent in
<v Speaker 5>the division was great. I thought there were many possible
<v Speaker 5>storylines that could have been explored for the belts and
<v Speaker 5>feuds between wrestlers. There were new talent coming up like
<v Speaker 5>Roxane per Julia, Stephanie vacuor But where has the women's
<v Speaker 5>division gone? On SmackDown A Manda brought this up on
<v Speaker 5>one of her reviews a couple weeks ago. Tifty Stratton
<v Speaker 5>is still the women's champion. I like that she has
<v Speaker 5>the belt. She's doing and she is very good in
<v Speaker 5>the ring and seems to have the crowd behind her.
<v Speaker 5>Are Jade and Naya the only ones at WWE can
<v Speaker 5>find a challenge at Tiffany for the belt. Right now,
<v Speaker 5>Julia holds the US championship and seems like their Meechen
<v Speaker 5>is just in the picture. Well, David, this just continues
<v Speaker 5>to prove my point in others that when you add
<v Speaker 5>more belts to a women's division that is already not
<v Speaker 5>getting enough time by some people's standards, then everything is
<v Speaker 5>you know, you're thinning, that you're thinning the playing field.
<v Speaker 5>It was already thin enough in terms of the women
<v Speaker 5>getting the amount of time that again many people feel
<v Speaker 5>like they deserve. But if you're gonna add more belts
<v Speaker 5>to a division that's already not getting a lot of time,
<v Speaker 5>then those who are going to compete for the women's
<v Speaker 5>top belt are going to be in much narrower field
<v Speaker 5>because the women already don't have a ton of time
<v Speaker 5>on television. And I'm still not one to believe that
<v Speaker 5>everyone should get fifty to fifty, Okay, I believe it
<v Speaker 5>should be something earned. It should not be something just
<v Speaker 5>awarded or given because you're simply a woman or in
<v Speaker 5>a women's division. Now, the women's division has certainly evolved,
<v Speaker 5>it has certainly progressed, in a way that I think
<v Speaker 5>is positive for women's wrestling. But there are indications that
<v Speaker 5>when women's wrestling is on, you look at the ratings.
<v Speaker 5>If you do look at such metrics, a lot of
<v Speaker 5>the women's segments aren't the highest rated or even close.
<v Speaker 5>A lot of times ratings drop off when the women's
<v Speaker 5>you know, matches are on. And that's not always the case,
<v Speaker 5>but they do look at metrics like that. And TKO,
<v Speaker 5>we all know TKO is very much outwardly transparently money driven.
<v Speaker 5>And they even said that Matt Shapiro is it. Matt Shapiro.
<v Speaker 5>David Shapiro, who's the president of TKO, had come out
<v Speaker 5>and said, hey, you know, I know, Vince, he priced
<v Speaker 5>the tickets to sell to families. We're pricing this to
<v Speaker 5>make the most money. He said that. I'm paraphrasing, but
<v Speaker 5>that's what he has said essentially, and that's just I mean,
<v Speaker 5>that's kind of a I know that that's what the
<v Speaker 5>company exists for. It's about every company exists for is
<v Speaker 5>to make money, otherwise they wouldn't exist. But you don't
<v Speaker 5>just say that outwardly like we all know it, but
<v Speaker 5>at least pretend that you're not doing that, you know,
<v Speaker 5>at least like pretend that you're trying to create value
<v Speaker 5>for families and create the new generation of viewers, and
<v Speaker 5>you know it's a bonding experience, like at least say
<v Speaker 5>the part. You don't say the quiet part out loud,
<v Speaker 5>but they just did, so it's kind of gross. But
<v Speaker 5>I'm getting off track. As far as the challengers for
<v Speaker 5>Tiffany's belt, you have Naya, you have you know Jade,
<v Speaker 5>but we both know that both of them are probably
<v Speaker 5>not going to be actual contenders. They're there as a
<v Speaker 5>placeholder for whoever they're looking at to be a potential
<v Speaker 5>real next contender for Tippany's championship. Now again, you could
<v Speaker 5>have somebody break out of the women's in her continental
<v Speaker 5>title reign or inter content I'm sorry us title contention
<v Speaker 5>and move up. But who would that be? Roxanne Perez
<v Speaker 5>doesn't feel like she's ready for that, Julia doesn't feel
<v Speaker 5>like she's ready for that. Sephany, on the other hand,
<v Speaker 5>seventy of a core of course does so perhaps that's
<v Speaker 5>the next challenger, real challenger for Tippany, Stradden and Mitchen.
<v Speaker 5>Yet she's just she's like the furniture. I mean, she's
<v Speaker 5>just there. I mean, that's how they treat Michen they
<v Speaker 5>have ever since really day one, when she was with
<v Speaker 5>the you know, the aj Styles and Good Brothers group.
<v Speaker 5>All right, Charlotte and Alexa are doing your own thing
<v Speaker 5>with the tag Belts and are feuding with Chelsea and
<v Speaker 5>her secret service b Fab or Hervis. Sorry, b Fab
<v Speaker 5>is back managing the street profits, which of course is
<v Speaker 5>just horrible. But Bianca beal Air is out of injured
<v Speaker 5>and the last time she wrestled was WrestleMania and was
<v Speaker 5>fighting for the Women's World title a raw belt. I
<v Speaker 5>thought Bianca would be back by now. Must have had
<v Speaker 5>more than two broken fingers. Well again, it's it's still
<v Speaker 5>even if they are just broken fingers, they're still bone.
<v Speaker 5>I mean, I'm not a doctor, but if you have
<v Speaker 5>broken fingers, especially if it's a compound fracture, I don't know,
<v Speaker 5>the severity does take time, and it takes time even
<v Speaker 5>after they've healed, to then regain your strength, and your
<v Speaker 5>hands are pretty damn important and wrestling. I mean, I
<v Speaker 5>know that's kind of a smaller bone. We look to,
<v Speaker 5>you know, major injuries like a compound femur fracture or something,
<v Speaker 5>but fingers are smaller bones, and they you know, I
<v Speaker 5>don't know the healing time, but if it takes anywhere
<v Speaker 5>from like four to six months and then to get
<v Speaker 5>your strength back, it's not surprising she's not back. It
<v Speaker 5>just from a visual perspective is like, ah, just your
<v Speaker 5>little fingers. But imagine breaking two of your fingers and
<v Speaker 5>then trying to do what wrestlers do. It's it is
<v Speaker 5>a bit difficult. They could also not have something for
<v Speaker 5>her creatively right now, but I don't think that's the case.
<v Speaker 5>You could slide Beyonce in really anywhere. She'd play the
<v Speaker 5>part well, so it will certainly be a boost whenever
<v Speaker 5>she comes back, no doubt about it. All right, So
<v Speaker 5>let's see here pl or rather the smack them on
<v Speaker 5>the vision just seems thin, while Raw has plenty of
<v Speaker 5>good talent to draw from. I think that the ples
<v Speaker 5>are too close together and to get any traction on
<v Speaker 5>the storylines, get out of one ple e and jump
<v Speaker 5>into another one three or four weeks later. I'd just
<v Speaker 5>like to see the new storyline to shake things up,
<v Speaker 5>not rehashing old feuds, David, But I mean, yeah, certainly
<v Speaker 5>new feuds with different uh different or different wrestlers are
<v Speaker 5>are fun, but you also have to remember, like they
<v Speaker 5>have so many shows that they do, with so much
<v Speaker 5>television and so much crossover and so many pls like
<v Speaker 5>two a month now, that it's hard to get a
<v Speaker 5>new combination. You know, there's not a lot of combinations
<v Speaker 5>of wrestlers that were dying to see yet because there's
<v Speaker 5>just there's so many different matches in TV time they
<v Speaker 5>have to fill. So that's that's the downside, is that
<v Speaker 5>sometimes there's just not a lot of new combinations that
<v Speaker 5>are intriguing. Yeah, so there is that. All right, Well
<v Speaker 5>let's continue here, and so thank you, David, thank you
<v Speaker 5>very much, and DJ, let's get to your email, he says,
<v Speaker 5>to answer your question of whether or not I will
<v Speaker 5>continue doing the Joe Hendry Report when he moves to
<v Speaker 5>the main roster, I will continue. I've been a big
<v Speaker 5>supporter of Joe since twenty twenty two and when he
<v Speaker 5>was just a mid carter in TNA making parody videos. However,
<v Speaker 5>I have an idea to do another type of reporting
<v Speaker 5>on future talent in pro wrestling, but that's where later
<v Speaker 5>down the line, when Joe Hendry makes his official roster debut.
<v Speaker 5>So stay tuned for that. Well, thank you, DJ, and
<v Speaker 5>I'm looking forward to, you know, seeing what that idea is,
<v Speaker 5>what your proposal is. Of course, you can certainly continue
<v Speaker 5>the Joe Hendry report if you're passionate about him, and
<v Speaker 5>you have been following him a lot longer than most
<v Speaker 5>three years now, most of us on the main roster,
<v Speaker 5>if we only watch the main roster, I've only really
<v Speaker 5>known or heard of him in the last year. So anyway,
<v Speaker 5>Multiple Grande Americanno's appearing is starting to get a bit
<v Speaker 5>annoying to me. I just wish that Chad comes back soon.
<v Speaker 5>Chad gable and finally puts the nail in the proverbial
<v Speaker 5>coffin where he reveals that he was the real El
<v Speaker 5>Grande Americano all along. Is that the payoff though, I mean,
<v Speaker 5>because we all know that's what makes it. That's what
<v Speaker 5>I guess is the entire appeal about it. But what
<v Speaker 5>the charming part of it was is we're all supposed
<v Speaker 5>to be stupid enough to believe that it's somebody else
<v Speaker 5>other than Chad. I mean, I guess that would. But
<v Speaker 5>maybe they just stop it all together, Maybe just El
<v Speaker 5>Grande just goes away. We never see him again, and
<v Speaker 5>it just run its course. It was a short lived,
<v Speaker 5>fun little run with multiple guys now and it's just
<v Speaker 5>become this kind of revolving door of Oh, who is
<v Speaker 5>it Titty this week? Is it Ludwig Kaiser? Is it
<v Speaker 5>Chad Gable? I mean it's a charm has worn off.
<v Speaker 5>I concur I'm starting to see some sort of tread
<v Speaker 5>with the return of Nikki Bella and then aj Lee.
<v Speaker 5>Could there be a possible possibilit that page returns to
<v Speaker 5>the ww as well in some sort of Diva's Era
<v Speaker 5>twenty ten reunion. Plus, is aj back as a full
<v Speaker 5>timer or is she here to be in addition to
<v Speaker 5>continued story of punk and rollins Because the WWE slightly
<v Speaker 5>teased aj possibly challenged Jim Becky for the IC title
<v Speaker 5>when she took Becky's belt the Bailey. He okay, so
<v Speaker 5>I'll talk about BILLI in a second. That's a good question.
<v Speaker 5>I hope aj Lee isn't back full time. I mean
<v Speaker 5>she she might be on the same schedule as her
<v Speaker 5>husband where it's wrestling on TV occasionally, you know, getting
<v Speaker 5>every other ple e that kind of thing, And I'm
<v Speaker 5>fine with that. I don't need aj especially. Look, she's
<v Speaker 5>not twenty years old anymore. Much like ciampunk is not
<v Speaker 5>that which means time always wins, which means they should
<v Speaker 5>probably limit the number of times in days and miles
<v Speaker 5>that they're going to put on those individuals' bodies at
<v Speaker 5>this age, you know. And I don't need to see
<v Speaker 5>aj Lee every week? Is she gonna be maybe here
<v Speaker 5>and then gone for a month and back. That's how
<v Speaker 5>I would do it for aj I would not have
<v Speaker 5>her here on a weekly basis. I really wouldn't. Now
<v Speaker 5>she could challenge Becky Lynch and win the Intercontinental tale
<v Speaker 5>she's a more than a front runner. She's probably the
<v Speaker 5>favorite whenever she faces Becky Lynch to become in her
<v Speaker 5>Continental champion. And if she becomes champion, then yeah, she's
<v Speaker 5>probably gonna be on TV much more. I don't know
<v Speaker 5>the specifics of her contract, only she does and the
<v Speaker 5>company does. The Bailey heel turn is coming, and I
<v Speaker 5>can't wait because of my opinion, Bailey's best work in
<v Speaker 5>recent times was when she was a heel. Djko's both
<v Speaker 5>signing off, have a good weekend and ken the Mets
<v Speaker 5>stop losing well, DJ again, I have to get on
<v Speaker 5>a little bit of MLB since you brought it up. Look,
<v Speaker 5>our Yankees are I know you didn't ask about Yankees,
<v Speaker 5>but since we're talking baseball, the Yankees are right now
<v Speaker 5>still in a good position wildcard wise. I still don't
<v Speaker 5>I don't believe we'll we'll take over the division. We
<v Speaker 5>cannot beat good teams. We beat up on the terrible teams,
<v Speaker 5>and that's the only reason our record is the way
<v Speaker 5>it is. But our record against above five hundred teams
<v Speaker 5>is horrible, which means in the playoffs we're gonna get
<v Speaker 5>knock out quick. I wouldn't be surprised if we get
<v Speaker 5>knocked out in the wildcard round because that's the teams
<v Speaker 5>that are gonna be left right. The playoffs are for
<v Speaker 5>the good teams that have winning records to be there
<v Speaker 5>and play each other, which means we are out. So
<v Speaker 5>I'm a Yankings fan, but I'm a realist and I
<v Speaker 5>think we are going We're gonna make it into the
<v Speaker 5>wildcard round and get bounced. If we're lucky enough to
<v Speaker 5>get past wildcard, I have no doubt we'll get bounced
<v Speaker 5>in the Alds. I just have no faith in this team.
<v Speaker 5>The way that they've inconsistently played. Their bullpen is and shambles.
<v Speaker 5>Their starting pitching is inconsistent. They're hitting is if unintended
<v Speaker 5>hit or miss, it is home run or bust. For us,
<v Speaker 5>we just aren't a cohesive team that is consistent, and
<v Speaker 5>our defense often fails us as well. So I mean,
<v Speaker 5>we're only at the way record we are simply because
<v Speaker 5>we beat up on bad teams. That's it. I mean,
<v Speaker 5>we bludgeon the bad teams, but when it comes to
<v Speaker 5>good teams, the record's terrible. And for the Mets, you
<v Speaker 5>guys are hanging onto a playoff spot by one game.
<v Speaker 5>The Reds are now as I record this anyway, one
<v Speaker 5>game behind the Mets and the wild card, which means
<v Speaker 5>if you guys are in a tie, a flat footed
<v Speaker 5>tie with the Reds, you lose because the tiebreaker goes
<v Speaker 5>to the Reds. You have you know, in the season,
<v Speaker 5>you have lost more games than you've won against the Reds,
<v Speaker 5>so if you end up with an identical record, you're out.
<v Speaker 5>So you don't want to get in a tie with
<v Speaker 5>the Reds. You're only one game ahead, you've lost six
<v Speaker 5>in a row, you just got swept by the Phillies,
<v Speaker 5>You're twelve back in the in the East. So that's out.
<v Speaker 5>Of course, that was out a long time ago. But
<v Speaker 5>now it's just a matter of hanging on to deer
<v Speaker 5>life for just a playoff spot and then you can reset.
<v Speaker 5>Even if the wild Card series, the three game series
<v Speaker 5>is not in city field, it will be almost said
<v Speaker 5>Shay Stadium. My god, it'll just be something of a
<v Speaker 5>miracle if the Mets make it. And it's embarrassing that
<v Speaker 5>they're even in this position, giving them payroll the highest
<v Speaker 5>payroll in baseball, three hundred and forty million. It's embarrassing.
<v Speaker 5>It's embarrassing for the Yankees tout even be in this position.
<v Speaker 5>So all right, DJ, thank you sir. Let's talk to
<v Speaker 5>Kay from Toronto. He says, Hey, I'll keep this to
<v Speaker 5>two points. That bugged me Friday and Monday one smacked
<v Speaker 5>down a two hour show forty seven minutes for seeing
<v Speaker 5>his entrance. Sammy then finally brock, this is too much
<v Speaker 5>spending in this amount of time on this and I
<v Speaker 5>get the Scena Final Tour stuff, but oh my god,
<v Speaker 5>only my opinion. Yeah, it's a lot. I mean, it's
<v Speaker 5>a lot of just a pomp and circumstance and scene
<v Speaker 5>has certainly had enough TV time. I am I'm going
<v Speaker 5>to miss John Cena when he's gone. But at the
<v Speaker 5>same time, while I'm in the moment, I'm kind of
<v Speaker 5>ready for it to be over. But then when it's
<v Speaker 5>overall whish it wasn't. So that's kind of life, the
<v Speaker 5>way things go. And yeah, so too, Raw. I agree
<v Speaker 5>with you one hundred percent. Bringing the mental health angle
<v Speaker 5>in is way off side anyway, fed up with aj
<v Speaker 5>in the whole couple's angle and let me chant the
<v Speaker 5>chanting of therapy was gross. I have had and have
<v Speaker 5>a lot of friends that are dealing with serious issues.
<v Speaker 5>This is not sports entertainment and the wwe should be
<v Speaker 5>ashamed of themselves. Thanks for all you do. Thanks, yeah,
<v Speaker 5>thanks Kay And yeah, look, I continue to say, I've
<v Speaker 5>had people email me predictably. You know that you know
<v Speaker 5>you don't know what you're talking about mental health and
<v Speaker 5>you're disparaging.
<v Speaker 2>No, I'm not.
<v Speaker 5>You know, people should if you have something serious going on.
<v Speaker 5>Therapy is an option. Medication is an option, although I
<v Speaker 5>think it's a last resort because a lot of times
<v Speaker 5>medication has side effects that are worse than your actual condition,
<v Speaker 5>whatever it may be. So doctors, unfortunately today, are very
<v Speaker 5>much knee jerk reaction to prescribe things. And I think
<v Speaker 5>that's and then get then you get addicted to it
<v Speaker 5>or you feel like you need to depend on it,
<v Speaker 5>and you're you're, you're all your ills as a all
<v Speaker 5>of your bad feelings are not normal, and you should
<v Speaker 5>take a pill to make them go away. That's essentially
<v Speaker 5>how a lot of modern medicine works, which is not good.
<v Speaker 5>You know how many people We have a record number
<v Speaker 5>of people on antidepressants, we have a record number of
<v Speaker 5>people in therapy, and yet we have more people depressed
<v Speaker 5>and sad and in a bad state than ever before.
<v Speaker 5>So something's off here. If people are doing more of
<v Speaker 5>something and becoming worse, maybe that more of whatever that
<v Speaker 5>is is not the answer. But again, I'm all for
<v Speaker 5>people trying to make themselves better. And if you have
<v Speaker 5>people going through serious stuff, yeah, I mean, support them,
<v Speaker 5>do whatever you need to do. But jumping sometimes to
<v Speaker 5>just medication. Oh give me the pill, I'll fix myself.
<v Speaker 5>So we're all walking around in a fog, We're all
<v Speaker 5>walking around, as you know, zombies. I'm not a fan
<v Speaker 5>of that, but thanks, kay, All right, let's talk to
<v Speaker 5>one more person, and this is Tom. Tom says, Hi,
<v Speaker 5>sorry for long email. Well it's not that long. It's
<v Speaker 5>really not that bad, you say. I want to start
<v Speaker 5>with Cody. He needs to be careful. I always say
<v Speaker 5>the best kinds of face turns are where you turn
<v Speaker 5>babyface without doing anything, like with Roman last year or
<v Speaker 5>Jacob Fattu. The crowd gets behind you and turns you,
<v Speaker 5>but it goes the opposite way too. There's no worse
<v Speaker 5>feeling for a babyface when the crowd boos you and
<v Speaker 5>turns you heel when you're supposed to be a face.
<v Speaker 5>Cody's refusing to turn heel. Well, he's skating on thin
<v Speaker 5>ices a bit. Some booze have popped up when Roman
<v Speaker 5>mentioned his name a couple of weeks ago. You heard it.
<v Speaker 5>We'll see where it goes. But he needs a character change.
<v Speaker 5>Fans are getting tired of the same old Cody. As
<v Speaker 5>for my thoughts on Jay, okay, well I'll stop for
<v Speaker 5>a second and just respond to your first group here,
<v Speaker 5>your first little thought. So it is always the best
<v Speaker 5>when it feels like the crowd has decided to turn
<v Speaker 5>somebody babyface and they just do. Oftentimes, wwe will try
<v Speaker 5>to take credit for it, and they'll believe or try
<v Speaker 5>to make themselves believe that they manipulated us to make
<v Speaker 5>us think we're the ones that did it, But really,
<v Speaker 5>wwe knew that we'd react this way. It's always a
<v Speaker 5>cat and mouse game of chicken or the egg, which
<v Speaker 5>one came first, And sometimes it does happen forcefully, like
<v Speaker 5>with Becky Lynch turning heel at Summers Slam twenty eighteen,
<v Speaker 5>which really turned her baby face, you know, Daniel Bryan
<v Speaker 5>one of the biggest baby faces the company's ever seen.
<v Speaker 5>Roman reigns, which I actually think was by design because
<v Speaker 5>they knew once Roman dropped the title and he went
<v Speaker 5>away that fans would be like, oh, okay, well, yeah,
<v Speaker 5>we've hated you for four years. You're gone now the
<v Speaker 5>titles off of you, so we you know, that part
<v Speaker 5>of the title or that part of you that was
<v Speaker 5>holding the title of hostage is gone, so there's really
<v Speaker 5>no reason for us to hate you anymore. And yeah,
<v Speaker 5>it's just it is always a cat and mouse game.
<v Speaker 1>Though.
<v Speaker 5>That's for my thoughts on Jay. I don't think they're
<v Speaker 5>going to fully turn Jay heel, at least not in
<v Speaker 5>the long term for starters I don't think they would
<v Speaker 5>go through with Jimmy versus Jay and Jay versus Roman again.
<v Speaker 5>Been there, done that not long ago? I certainly hope not.
<v Speaker 5>I mentioned this on my raw review. Why would anybody
<v Speaker 5>be interested in a Jay versus Roman reigns or Jay
<v Speaker 5>versus Jimmy even worse? At this point at all? There's
<v Speaker 5>there couldn't be a worse story right now for Roman
<v Speaker 5>or Jay or Jimmy than having them refeud again. Nobody
<v Speaker 5>wants to see that We've been down that road more
<v Speaker 5>times than we probably should have, with the turns and
<v Speaker 5>the double turns, and I'm back and then I'm turning
<v Speaker 5>on you and the tension and who's really the travel chief?
<v Speaker 5>I think it's exhausted. There's nothing left to tell there.
<v Speaker 5>If they do this with Jay, I would just I
<v Speaker 5>would throw my hands up me like, well, goes all
