We're still on the mend from various maladies at the moment, but that's not enough to keep the podcast down! This week we chat about the turn-based RPG musical People of Note, skittering around as an octopus in Darwin's Paradox, finally finishing Resident Evil 0 and seeing how it ranks with the franchise, and more game talk! We also recap the news, read your wonderful emails, and play a good ol' game of guessing what ad Grubb has brought to us this week.

<v Speaker 1>Oh, I'm sleepy. Dan'ce like, haha, Mike's sleepy, and I <v Speaker 1>was like, how dare you call me out for being sleepy? <v Speaker 1>Chance like, I want the people saw the Mario movie <v Speaker 1>to talk about that. I'm like, that's, you know whatever, <v Speaker 1>it's the Mario movie. Jan said we should talk about <v Speaker 1>video games. Dan had a video game where he types something, <v Speaker 1>Isn't that interesting? I was like, that's kind of interesting. <v Speaker 1>I'm not going to get involved in this conversation about <v Speaker 1>that typing video game that Jan said, Mike, you just <v Speaker 1>I was like, oh, it's my train to talk. So <v Speaker 1>I talked about a Virtue fighter for a little bit, <v Speaker 1>and Jan said I could go to the bathroom, and <v Speaker 1>I did that. I switched my calendar and it had <v Speaker 1>a mini mouths with a bumblebee on it. I'm like, <v Speaker 1>that's nice. I can't believe I didn't switch that until <v Speaker 1>just now. We're already a weekend to April. That's my bet. <v Speaker 1>That's on me. Jeff wanted to talk about the video <v Speaker 1>game news and Quantic Dream is maybe not going to <v Speaker 1>make a Star Wars game after all, and the Mario <v Speaker 1>movie made a lot of money, so that was nice. <v Speaker 1>And then Jane was like, oh, do you guys need <v Speaker 1>to take a break, And I'm like, I gotta be <v Speaker 1>a little bit, but like everyone else doesn't want to <v Speaker 1>take a break, so that's okay. We can just go <v Speaker 1>into the next thing there. And that's that's when Jeff <v Speaker 1>showed us the video game ad and it was like <v Speaker 1>two words and he's like, this one's pretty easy. No, <v Speaker 1>he had no idea, he disappointing us. Then I remembered <v Speaker 1>about then Jeff said that he thought it was a <v Speaker 1>port of and I'm like, that's not right, that's not right. <v Speaker 1>I looked it up and that's incorrect. This came out <v Speaker 1>before that. So yeah, yeah, So another another grub l <v Speaker 1>and then I was like, uh, then there's the yeah yeah. <v Speaker 1>And then I was like emails, Mike, you gotta read <v Speaker 1>super chats. I'm like, oh crap, my name was said again. <v Speaker 1>I had to do something. Then actually clicked the button <v Speaker 1>where I got signed out. Uh so those of Jeff <v Speaker 1>came in and he read the super chats instead. I <v Speaker 1>think that's what's happening right now. <v Speaker 2>Hey everybody, it's Tuesday, April seventh, twenty twenty six. Welcome <v Speaker 2>to the Giant BombCast. Episode nine hundred and thirty five. <v Speaker 2>I'm your host, Jan Acholla. For video viewers out there, <v Speaker 2>do not be alarmed by the yellow bean in the sunglasses. <v Speaker 2>I'm not taking a heel turn. I've not turned evil, <v Speaker 2>an evil doppelgangers not taken over my persons. I am <v Speaker 2>just simply trying to fist fight a migrain and my destiny. <v Speaker 2>And it seems like the world as Wow. I shouldn't <v Speaker 2>be yelling, but coach captain of the ship, Jeff. <v Speaker 1>Grubb, Oh, I'm very happy to be here. Jan. <v Speaker 3>I'm also not feeling tiptop, but I think relative to <v Speaker 3>many people on this podcast, I'm doing really well, So <v Speaker 3>I'm just not gonna say anything else. <v Speaker 4>That's right. <v Speaker 2>We're all falling apart at the seams. Packs may have <v Speaker 2>done a number on us, but speaking about together at <v Speaker 2>the seams, he is bursting at the seams with rage <v Speaker 2>dedicated towards Oates businesses Ian riker. <v Speaker 5>Who can say which Oats business has wronged me yet <v Speaker 5>again and whose Oats code you should not use? But yeah, Jane, <v Speaker 5>we're all struggling today. Jan, you got the migraine. Grab <v Speaker 5>You're not tiptop shape. I had to go to the <v Speaker 5>dentist today again and having some severe tooth pain and everything. <v Speaker 5>So things are rough there and Mikey had to get <v Speaker 5>up at noon. Uh, it's tough for everyone out there, guys, <v Speaker 5>our our own prince of darkness, I. <v Speaker 3>Want to I'm laughing at Mike shaking his head more <v Speaker 3>than anything else. <v Speaker 2>Our own, our own prince of darkness. Jeff Backlar is <v Speaker 2>out on assignment. But don't worry. He's he's festering in <v Speaker 2>the corner. He's stuck on the escalator of bad ass. <v Speaker 4>Ery, the bad boy of games mood are my like. <v Speaker 1>Minati, Look, I'm sorry. I don't have an excuse. I <v Speaker 1>don't know why I'm out of it. I don't have <v Speaker 1>an excuse, all right, I was, Yes, I was up <v Speaker 1>late playing video games. That's not an excuse. The sleep <v Speaker 1>just didn't really take for some reason, you know, I <v Speaker 1>don't know why. I just kind of woke up. And <v Speaker 1>it's like it looks like I hit my snooze button <v Speaker 1>thirty times in my or thirty minutes in my sleep. <v Speaker 1>That's always a bad sign. No time for my shower <v Speaker 1>in the morning, which always helps wake me up. Missing <v Speaker 1>the shower, that's a bad sign. I'll have to do <v Speaker 1>that after this. I got no excuse. There's just tons <v Speaker 1>of brain fog right now. No, gird, I'm not sick anymore. <v Speaker 1>I can't blame on that. I was sick last week <v Speaker 1>and then really busy this weekend because you know, all <v Speaker 1>the Easter stuff. So I don't know. I guess I'm <v Speaker 1>just unrested. That's it. I'm just a little baby, you know. <v Speaker 4>It's it's been hard times. Promo. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, yeah, can you Mike Man not? <v Speaker 1>Can you hit me with a data? I guess I'm <v Speaker 1>just a little sleepy data. Yeah, close enough, close enough, <v Speaker 1>all right for me. <v Speaker 2>No notes, boys, other than no no oats, yes, yes, <v Speaker 2>other than the world seemingly on fire and folks, hey, <v Speaker 2>I know there's a lot happening in the world right now. <v Speaker 2>There may be a lot happening in your own life <v Speaker 2>right now. Uh sure, sure is a lot of stuff <v Speaker 2>happening to us right now. But we appreciate you spending <v Speaker 2>time with us, and we hope this hour two hours <v Speaker 2>to almost maybe three hours, who knows how the heck <v Speaker 2>lung will go today will help distract you and be <v Speaker 2>a little bit of reprieve from the fucking world On <v Speaker 2>fire boys. Otherwise, how are we doing? It was Easter? <v Speaker 2>It was we did. <v Speaker 1>We did a one of them like little hey, follow <v Speaker 1>the trail, go ahead. <v Speaker 3>And there's a bun. There's some like bunny sticker like <v Speaker 3>their pause stickers. Put that on the ground. The kids <v Speaker 3>went all around the house, found some cool Easter eggs, <v Speaker 3>some toys and stuff like that. Easter a much bigger <v Speaker 3>deal than I whatever was for me as a kid, <v Speaker 3>like we would go get the eggs in the yard, <v Speaker 3>but now we make a big deal out of it. <v Speaker 3>And I hadn't been here the last couple of years <v Speaker 3>because I would go to pack. So coming back, Tom like, <v Speaker 3>oh yeah, there's all this setup. It was almost equivalent <v Speaker 3>to like stand up late getting Christmas set up. But <v Speaker 3>it was a lot of fun. The kids had a <v Speaker 3>good time. <v Speaker 4>Hell yeah. <v Speaker 5>I had Ryan and Becky from Outpost thirty one Productions <v Speaker 5>come here to fix up the Alien day one on Sunday, <v Speaker 5>day one of the restoration, and we didn't realize it <v Speaker 5>was Easter, and then he showed up and starts fixing <v Speaker 5>up the alien. They're both wearing Alien shirts and they're like, <v Speaker 5>this is our religion. I'm like, oh, oh, I found <v Speaker 5>the right crew for this. <v Speaker 1>This is awesome. <v Speaker 4>They're coming too today, So you. <v Speaker 3>Would say that your xenomorph has risen, he's been. <v Speaker 5>Deck his wrists are fixed up. The latex is drying <v Speaker 5>right now. They're coming back some hydrating stuff to kind <v Speaker 5>of like freshen up all that stuff. They're gonna paint <v Speaker 5>the head of glossy black like in the movie. It's <v Speaker 5>fucking awesome. Yeah, they're these people love horror movies. <v Speaker 4>Yeah, very cool. <v Speaker 5>Next Alien buttole oh, keme on it. You should see <v Speaker 5>the butthole on this thing is crazy, right now? Car <v Speaker 5>did Carrie come. <v Speaker 1>Out of it? Get Jim Carrey come out of it. <v Speaker 5>I don't know if this butthole picture is going to <v Speaker 5>show up, like the butthole is like they took the <v Speaker 5>tail off, So this is the button that's latex drying <v Speaker 5>on the butthole right now? Yeah, so the tails on <v Speaker 5>the ground over there. It's yeah, guys, I think I <v Speaker 5>gotta go. You can handle the show without me, right, Yeah? <v Speaker 5>All right, let's all right, let's talk more about buttholes. Everybody. <v Speaker 5>Welcome to the Butthole Zone of You podcast from Giant Bomb. <v Speaker 2>Oh boy, I think even our our our bench team <v Speaker 2>may be going through it as well. Boys, I think <v Speaker 2>two of you may have actually participated in some gigantic <v Speaker 2>festivities over the weekend. And I'm not talking about Jesus <v Speaker 2>or whatever. He's old news. I'm talking about Mario movie. <v Speaker 1>Yes, yeah, Jeffinite I saw. We haven't talked to each <v Speaker 1>other about it at all yet. If I don't think <v Speaker 1>even texted him, he ignored me. I don't know if <v Speaker 1>he ignored me text me while I was in bed. <v Speaker 3>I was sleeping, well midnight. <v Speaker 1>You know some people do. Some people are like the <v Speaker 1>next day they text it don't go Well, that's just <v Speaker 1>a wash. But well, obviously you don't have many friends, <v Speaker 1>lady HD. But also it was this whole weekend I <v Speaker 1>mostly spent wallpapering, so that's what I was doing. I'm like, <v Speaker 1>I don't have time for Mike Manatti's silliest side. Now. <v Speaker 1>I know he's gonna have opinions about this movie, adult stuff. <v Speaker 2>What if Manati texted you first, you up question mark. <v Speaker 1>Now, then I would Okay, I'm like, something's. <v Speaker 4>Up, okay there for I need to ask a question. <v Speaker 5>I've not seen the film, but I've seen a lot <v Speaker 5>of reactions from people, and they've been very polarized, and <v Speaker 5>I want to see which end of the needle you <v Speaker 5>guys point more towards one end. A lot of my <v Speaker 5>friends I talked about movies and stuff like that are like, oh, <v Speaker 5>it is a bad movie. <v Speaker 4>This is not a good movie. <v Speaker 5>And then on the other hand, it's usually people with <v Speaker 5>kids that are just like the references the joy. The <v Speaker 5>kids loved it, so it's like one or the other <v Speaker 5>is like this movie sucks or like my kid laughed <v Speaker 5>so it's good. <v Speaker 4>So like, wait, where are you guys on it? <v Speaker 3>I mean I, I man, Am I the only person <v Speaker 3>that can hold two thoughts in their head at the <v Speaker 3>same time. It's a bad movie that I had a <v Speaker 3>good time at. What am I supposed to do about this? <v Speaker 1>What happened? Yeah, yeah, you'll already know what this movie is. Dan, <v Speaker 1>it's gonna like surprise you in some way, and maybe <v Speaker 1>because it's so obvious what it is, it's it comes <v Speaker 1>across worse than that first movie. There are definitely there <v Speaker 1>are problems, there are something's done better, but like the <v Speaker 1>no needle drop bad music tracks thing, that's a lot better. <v Speaker 5>So you said it was worse than the first one, <v Speaker 5>because the first one I thought was fine. <v Speaker 4>I seen you guys and thought it was fine. <v Speaker 1>It's maybe a little I think in some ways, like <v Speaker 1>the p is definitely more hap hazard. It's like really <v Speaker 1>kind of just it's a nonsense. I don't blame say <v Speaker 1>a movie critic who has no affinity for Mario for <v Speaker 1>thinking that this is just absolute gibberish and having a <v Speaker 1>bad time with it. I'll say this, there was definitely <v Speaker 1>more like ah sounds in the theater pointing out references <v Speaker 1>than ha ha ha. What a genuinely funny joke in <v Speaker 1>this movie? <v Speaker 5>Is the super Mario two stuff? Is that a substantial <v Speaker 5>part of the movie. <v Speaker 1>It's like, a it's a scene. It's a good scene. <v Speaker 1>It's one of the better scenes. Yeah, it was fun <v Speaker 1>and like stuff like that. It's like, ah, you know, <v Speaker 1>that's uh yeah, you know, they could have done more <v Speaker 1>obvious things. And I like the fact that they did <v Speaker 1>a whole all the bosses from Mario two or in <v Speaker 1>this casino scene. That's that's neat. That's fine. I will say, <v Speaker 1>like the first half the movie, I was like, oh no, <v Speaker 1>they turned Yoshi into a minion. That mellowed out a <v Speaker 1>little bit. Yeah, Yeah, Fox McCloud's is the best part <v Speaker 1>of the movie. For sure. <v Speaker 3>He's a pretty decent part of it. He's like a <v Speaker 3>tertiary character, Like he's like like. <v Speaker 1>Donkey Kong last Time. Almost He's is like a Hawkeye <v Speaker 1>perhaps a little bit. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, actually, for sure. Yeah, the kids did enjoy it. <v Speaker 3>That we came out of the movie. They were all <v Speaker 3>talking about their favorite parts. Their favorite parts, like one <v Speaker 3>was a reference, the other one was just like a <v Speaker 3>funny joke that everyone laughed at. You could tell the <v Speaker 3>kids were like, oh my god, I thought that was funny, <v Speaker 3>and everyone in this room laughed too. That's cool to <v Speaker 3>be part of a group like thinking something's funny. And <v Speaker 3>they're kind of having that realization. So it's like, Oh, <v Speaker 3>it delivered what I went to the movie for, which <v Speaker 3>was to see a bunch of Nintendo stuff, to see <v Speaker 3>it be bright, colorful and have kind of a fast <v Speaker 3>pace to it where they're going from one thing to <v Speaker 3>the next. So it does go by pretty quick, and <v Speaker 3>it does, and it's exactly what I was expecting. And <v Speaker 3>I just can tell that this movie doesn't have any <v Speaker 3>sort of pathos or tension or anything that I'd go <v Speaker 3>to other movies for But again, that's not why I <v Speaker 3>showed up. That's not why I paid one hundred dollars <v Speaker 3>or tickets for my family to go see this thing. <v Speaker 3>We went to go see the colorful Mario characters. <v Speaker 1>Even like even like your average like kids move your <v Speaker 1>family movie usually tries to be about something, you know, <v Speaker 1>like a theme or or a moral and there's maybe <v Speaker 1>like the slightest attempt at that or a gesture that's <v Speaker 1>something to do with family. <v Speaker 3>It's not even like even like the time the first <v Speaker 3>one was like we're brothers and we could see like <v Speaker 3>see everything through together, and like they're like willing to <v Speaker 3>do like have a speech about that or whatever. This <v Speaker 3>movie is kind of like, ah, I don't know, Mario <v Speaker 3>wants to have a girlfriend, and and maybe Luigi is <v Speaker 3>still scared who knows. <v Speaker 5>Okay, all right, So I mean, this's none of the <v Speaker 5>sounds surprising to me. This is about what I would <v Speaker 5>have expected from this. <v Speaker 1>I think when it shocked expect it's not what I <v Speaker 1>was expecting. I definitely, I definitely maybe have the opinion <v Speaker 1>that it's not worth all the haulla baloo that except <v Speaker 1>people are kidding right here, right, you know, the fall <v Speaker 1>of cinema or that was the greatest thing ever, like <v Speaker 1>we know what it is. <v Speaker 3>Maybe they don't. <v Speaker 4>Yeah, I mean I was, what was the Mario the <v Speaker 4>first Mario movie? Was that ninety one? <v Speaker 1>I was, as it might be ninety one, it could <v Speaker 1>be ninety one. <v Speaker 5>Well I was either you're seven or nine years old. <v Speaker 5>And I left and I told my dad it was <v Speaker 5>the best movie I ever saw. So that was a <v Speaker 5>fun time for me. So I can't be mad about <v Speaker 5>like kids liking a movie that's not the deepest best <v Speaker 5>movie in the world, like this is right, right whatever. <v Speaker 1>Like it's funny because I was thinking about that, and <v Speaker 1>I'm like, that's that's the movie you get when you <v Speaker 1>try to actually make a real movie based on Mario. Yeah, right, <v Speaker 1>Like those are the concessions you have to make to <v Speaker 1>make it maybe make sense in a screenwriter's world, Or <v Speaker 1>is this movie is like what if we just don't <v Speaker 1>really worry too much about why all this is happening <v Speaker 1>or how it makes any sense, or we just can't <v Speaker 1>introduce Fox McCloud in our movie. <v Speaker 3>Yeah can, And like I will say, like if I <v Speaker 3>am looking at it, if I step back a little bit, <v Speaker 3>the original Super Mario Brothers movie from nineteen ninety three, <v Speaker 3>I think is way more important than these movies. And <v Speaker 3>it's cool that like people had to figure out answers <v Speaker 3>to those questions that no one and Nintendo ever asked themselves, <v Speaker 3>and they had like set producers come up with ideas <v Speaker 3>if I how to make these things to life. It's <v Speaker 3>awesome that that happened and makes that more timeless in <v Speaker 3>the long run than these movies ever will be. I <v Speaker 3>wish we could live in the world where we got <v Speaker 3>both frequently. I'm glad we got one at one point, <v Speaker 3>and I'm glad we're getting these as well as the <v Speaker 3>kids are enjoying them. And then I hope that one <v Speaker 3>day I could show them the Weird Mario movie and <v Speaker 3>they're like, yeah, just like objectively, this feels like it's <v Speaker 3>cooler because there's so many interesting ideas actually in the movie. <v Speaker 5>Yeah, I don't understand getting mad about this, like as <v Speaker 5>a Mario fan, like I'm not particularly interested in seeing <v Speaker 5>the movie, but like, if it's a thing that makes <v Speaker 5>kids into Mario in twenty twenty six and then maybe <v Speaker 5>they check out the games and stuff, that just seems <v Speaker 5>like a positive to me. <v Speaker 3>I think there's just like people are complating a lot <v Speaker 3>of the articles. People do hear like, oh, it's a <v Speaker 3>kid's movie, what do you expect? And I don't think <v Speaker 3>any of us are saying that. I'm just saying it's <v Speaker 3>a kids movie, you should occasionally expect this and that <v Speaker 3>end like they will make bad stuff for kids, just <v Speaker 3>like they've made bad stuff for adults. Like this is <v Speaker 3>not indicating that people think kids can only like bad stuff. Obviously, <v Speaker 3>we just know that's not true anymore. After years of Pixar, <v Speaker 3>years of excellent Disney movies yea, yeah, and all. <v Speaker 1>This other stuff they could so they could do better. <v Speaker 1>And I don't know if it's because of like they <v Speaker 1>they just don't have it, or it's just like a <v Speaker 1>dedication of like this is the kind of sloppy one <v Speaker 1>of go out into them. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, And I do think my theory, my pet theory <v Speaker 3>is memotos they are showing up in like all these <v Speaker 3>characters should always get along, and we don't. <v Speaker 1>Jean Rodd and Berry at the Star Trek Next Generation <v Speaker 1>era for the Mario movie. Yes, yeah, I. <v Speaker 3>Think it's kind of spoiling any chance for them to <v Speaker 3>like take a take a cinematic rain to it or whatever. <v Speaker 1>I think he's kind of getting the way right, Who knows, <v Speaker 1>I have no idea. It's uh. I think it's gonna <v Speaker 1>be interesting with that Zelda movie because and like this <v Speaker 1>is gonna sound condescending, but they're gonna have to make <v Speaker 1>a real movie with that, you know. <v Speaker 4>Oh yeah, no way that movie is gonna be good. <v Speaker 4>There's just no fun. I don't know. <v Speaker 3>It's I think it's safe to assume it won't be <v Speaker 3>and if it surprises, this is great. <v Speaker 1>Yeah. <v Speaker 2>Absolutely, I think I'm ready to be pleasantly surprised by that. <v Speaker 1>I want to believe. <v Speaker 2>Yes, uh, they're shooting where they shot the Hobbit. There's there. <v Speaker 2>Their little footsteps are gonna fit in the other little footsteps. Guys, <v Speaker 2>Okayait is like a little lame dude. <v Speaker 1>He's literally in a forest, has children. <v Speaker 4>And hook shot and abilities. <v Speaker 1>You have swords. Have you seen Bilbo Baggins. Mother's got <v Speaker 1>the coolest sword too. <v Speaker 2>Yes? <v Speaker 4>Oh wait, I haven't seen the Hobbit guy. <v Speaker 1>The Rings have swords to the forgot. Forgot. <v Speaker 4>The sorts just walked in grass and talked for nine hours. <v Speaker 2>They also do Yeah, yeah, let's be clear, all right, <v Speaker 2>gang well before we talk about video games. <v Speaker 4>Jeff Greb, how can. <v Speaker 2>The folks at home support us here at giant bomb <v Speaker 2>dot com. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, Dan's oats code. <v Speaker 3>No, yes, you can go to oats overnight dot Giant <v Speaker 3>drained my account. <v Speaker 1>I listen. <v Speaker 3>Here's what I want y'all to do is go to <v Speaker 3>giant bomb dot com slash join and become a premium member, <v Speaker 3>because we're independent games media and we need your support <v Speaker 3>to continue on the things that you like that we <v Speaker 3>like creating a home away from all the insanity on <v Speaker 3>the internet elsewhere. I don't want to announce any specific dates, <v Speaker 2>but the wheels are turning for they'll be turning. They're turning. <v Speaker 2>The wheels are rolling, rolling, not on the river, but <v Speaker 2>on the highways. <v Speaker 3>Hopefully not on the river. Let's try to steer clear <v Speaker 3>of that, please. <v Speaker 2>I don't know how to swim, guys, Because the Great <v Speaker 2>Giant Bomb road trip is happening. It's probably Nure happening. <v Speaker 5>This Saints plans. Jan's gonna see the Midwest, Jans. <v Speaker 3>I think there's an over under for how many times <v Speaker 3>am I gonna say I'm gonna turn this van around <v Speaker 3>if these guys don't settle down, I'm gonna take. <v Speaker 4>Jam meat raffle. It's gonna be. <v Speaker 2>And then you know, Chuck being Chuck uh added an <v Speaker 2>interesting layer at the beginning of the road trip that <v Speaker 2>maybe it's gonna be a little bit of a different <v Speaker 2>trip for Dan, Chuck and I before we one night. <v Speaker 4>The first night. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, oh right, okay, that yes, you can through the <v Speaker 3>whole planes, trains, and automobiles, jam betwill the stuff you're <v Speaker 3>doing the summer. <v Speaker 5>We're not we're not allowed to stay at Backlar's house. <v Speaker 5>So we're gonna we're gonna rough it. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, Chuck, that's right, you know, we'll just say it now. Uh, <v Speaker 2>Dan sleep in their backyard. We could set up Dan <v Speaker 2>Chuck and I and I think we convinced Will, even <v Speaker 2>though Will lives in Jersey. Yeah, well could just sleep <v Speaker 2>in his bed that night. But he's as a trooper. <v Speaker 2>We're gonna go camping for the first night. <v Speaker 3>And oh yes, Like, are you worried that something's gonna <v Speaker 3>go wrong on the camping night and it's just gonna derail. <v Speaker 4>The whole trip? <v Speaker 3>Because I can be great? <v Speaker 1>All right, you're all about to see how much I <v Speaker 1>sleep on roadchips because I'm thinking dramma me the whole time. <v Speaker 1>I'm actually very excited about that. <v Speaker 4>That which is just coul. <v Speaker 5>You've talked about driving to Disney with like you just <v Speaker 5>lay in the back sleeping with your seatpap. <v Speaker 4>Is that what we're dealing with on the road trip? <v Speaker 1>Probably? I love that with you. <v Speaker 4>I'm gonna burt in your sepp. <v Speaker 1>I've got actually get out of seatpap the whole fires. <v Speaker 1>Can hear me snore? I don't give a ship. <v Speaker 2>Okay, sweet god, Dan is gonna put vodka in your <v Speaker 2>seatpap reservoir. <v Speaker 4>Did that work? <v Speaker 1>If I work? You know what? <v Speaker 5>Jackass was an inspiration to us all Steve O was <v Speaker 5>reckless by injecting himself with the IV of vodka. We <v Speaker 5>have grown, we're smarter, we're wiser. So Wilter's vodka and <v Speaker 5>a CPAP. Yes, we'll just inhale it, not injected. <v Speaker 4>Yes, all right, Yeah, maybe we don't do that. <v Speaker 1>You're so concerned. God, I saw something I'm hearing and <v Speaker 1>I just we had like a two hour beating. I'm <v Speaker 1>just over here like and everything's like, oh no, oh no, <v Speaker 1>I was gonna say it. It was flooding out, it <v Speaker 1>was floating around. You're like, wait, probably are good. Just <v Speaker 1>like what if we just what if we just crashed <v Speaker 1>at fans houses? <v Speaker 4>What ampy Russlers have been doing this for fucking decades. <v Speaker 1>About the floor. <v Speaker 2>All right, before we get the video games gig, just <v Speaker 2>a couple of quick programming reminders, Uh, for those premium <v Speaker 2>folks out there, we're gonna have a new episode of <v Speaker 2>Nine Lives with mister Mustapha Fleas happening after the BombCast <v Speaker 2>grew up. I saw the clip that is of today's episode. <v Speaker 2>I don't I can't believe that's the episode that the <v Speaker 2>folks are on. So much has happened for you, myself <v Speaker 2>shuck right. <v Speaker 3>I was looking at that too. I had the same thought. <v Speaker 3>It's like, okay, the fact that they're just getting to <v Speaker 3>this joke that I do remember that feels like forever ago. <v Speaker 3>So yes, there's plenty of adventures of mister Mstopheles had <v Speaker 3>to come. <v Speaker 2>Yes, yes, tomorrow the blight continues, Dan, how are you <v Speaker 2>feeling about re embarking on space Ace It's only forty <v Speaker 2>minutes left. <v Speaker 5>I've heard it's only forty minutes away. Yeah, yeah, I <v Speaker 5>don't want to take breaks with this. I memory is <v Speaker 5>my biggest adversary with this run, because you do have <v Speaker 5>to remember very specifically where to jump, where to stand <v Speaker 5>with all the auto scrolling and all that. I think <v Speaker 5>it'll come back to me. But I think every level <v Speaker 5>will have at least one or two like oh fuck <v Speaker 5>right that okay, here we do I sand left here. <v Speaker 3>There's going to be a quick relearning process for every level, <v Speaker 3>I think. But yeah, I think it'll click into place <v Speaker 3>much faster each time, even after this extended break. <v Speaker 5>Yes, yes, yeah, no, I'm say looking forward. I'm looking <v Speaker 5>forward to conquering this game, yes, and so every step <v Speaker 5>towards that. <v Speaker 1>Is a plus for me. <v Speaker 4>So yes, I will do that. <v Speaker 2>But before that tomorrow, before Blake Club leaves the space station, <v Speaker 2>Gang Turboshan and I have dusted off the gym. We've <v Speaker 2>put our own wall paper up across the gym floors <v Speaker 2>as well the ceilings. We've done so much to the bathroom. <v Speaker 2>Because pokem Monday Night Combat relaunches tomorrow, Gang Shawn and <v Speaker 2>I are going to check out Pokemon Champions because tomorrow's <v Speaker 2>day one, So we're gonna just, uh, you know, see <v Speaker 2>what shenanigans we sean janigans. <v Speaker 4>We can get up to. <v Speaker 1>Oh it's a launch look, well to meet Dan you <v Speaker 1>have third content meeting. You were like, oh, then maybe <v Speaker 1>for a when that game comes out, we can do <v Speaker 1>a watch look. And then you caught yourself like, oh, <v Speaker 1>whatever it's called. <v Speaker 5>I mean it's the placeholder you know, I'll use the <v Speaker 5>placeholder vernacular. <v Speaker 4>Yeah, that's fine, folk. <v Speaker 3>Realize what you did. You were. <v Speaker 4>Hey, listen, you start mitched checking. We're all good. <v Speaker 1>You know, I'm all for a bitch check. I love it. <v Speaker 5>Yeah, that's another bomb on incentive was the Pokemonday Night <v Speaker 5>Combat and uh, there's another one maybe in the works <v Speaker 5>with it with Mike and uh and grub coming up in. <v Speaker 4>The near future. <v Speaker 5>But yeah, just to reassure everyone, you know, hit all <v Speaker 5>those incentives in October. It's extremely important to all of us. <v Speaker 5>We are going to make good on every single one <v Speaker 5>of those and they are all very in the works, <v Speaker 5>So stay tuned. A lot of fun stuff coming up <v Speaker 5>on that front. <v Speaker 2>Yes, Yes, Poking Monday Night Combat UH is going to <v Speaker 2>be on Wednesday tomorrow. Sean and I are going to assess <v Speaker 2>the skeedu and see UH nail down a definitive day <v Speaker 2>to put that on. It's Pokemon Day Night Combat, so <v Speaker 2>it doesn't have to. <v Speaker 4>Be on a Monday. Yeah, you know. <v Speaker 2>That's that's the type of lucy goosiness that can happen <v Speaker 2>here at Giant bomb A Gang. Unfortunately, the Hottest Gaming <v Speaker 2>and the Hottest Dating Show it's gonna have to be <v Speaker 2>postponed due to scheduling stuff going on. So we will <v Speaker 2>be having a Discord town Hall for all of our <v Speaker 2>premium members out there. If you're pre remember hop into Discord. <v Speaker 2>You got cues, you got questions, holler at your boys, UH. <v Speaker 2>You can ask virtually any and everything and be please <v Speaker 2>please be ready to talk on the microphone. And then <v Speaker 2>we got UPF as huge, but also gang. This Saturday, <v Speaker 2>the community is embarking on their own endurance run. That's right, <v Speaker 2>We're gonna be hosting on the website giant bomb dot <v Speaker 2>com slash Endurance Schedule t B A gang. I'm ready <v Speaker 2>to talk about video games if you were always do it. <v Speaker 4>Speaking, you know, I'm already donning the the yellow beanie. <v Speaker 2>Uh and I'm kind of leaning into into the toxicity <v Speaker 2>because last upf our dear friend Samantha Coleman show showed up, <v Speaker 2>hung out with us and showed off her new game <v Speaker 2>that is still in the early days, but we checked <v Speaker 2>it out. We checked out versus Hyperkinetic Aerial Joust Gang. <v Speaker 2>You know, this still early stages, you know, of everything, <v Speaker 2>but kind of I kind of felt myself liking it <v Speaker 2>too much. <v Speaker 4>Oh, we could tell because you were being a menace <v Speaker 4>to everyone with you. <v Speaker 3>Yes, evil jin is not a thing that just unleashes randomly. <v Speaker 3>Absolutely got unleashed on everyone on that stream by you, <v Speaker 3>and it was it was scary to see. <v Speaker 2>For folks that don't know or haven't seen UPF yet. <v Speaker 2>Versus hyper Connected Aerial Joust kind of a wipeout looking game, <v Speaker 2>but not a racing game per se. It is a <v Speaker 2>jousting style game. The mode we checked out it was <v Speaker 2>two v two, two ships going against each other in <v Speaker 2>opposite directions, circling around an infinite loop, and you would <v Speaker 2>just have to unleash a blade and that blade would <v Speaker 2>take out your opponent. And the new thing that I <v Speaker 2>think should be in more games, whatever genre, even if <v Speaker 2>it's a puzzle game. Just give me slow down, give <v Speaker 2>me that which time, that bullet time happening. <v Speaker 3>I mean, it's yeah, everyone has their association with minds, <v Speaker 3>burnout revenge like I mean, I'm just sure the association. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, yeah, of course, yeah, but very fun time. I <v Speaker 2>suggest you go check out the UPF, and I think <v Speaker 2>if you join the free Patreon you'll get access to it. <v Speaker 2>That is versus hyperkinetic aerial joust. Speaking about jousting and <v Speaker 2>actually speaking about that UPF. Sorry, my brain is melting actively. <v Speaker 2>I feel it leaking out of my ears. Dan Reichert, <v Speaker 2>on that same UPF, you showed us a fun little <v Speaker 2>word game Glifica. <v Speaker 1>Oh. <v Speaker 5>I'm a sucker for any game where typing is your weapon. <v Speaker 5>As much as I don't keyboard and mouse for anything, <v Speaker 5>I get, I get real hyped up for a game <v Speaker 5>where you're just typing as the only method of input. <v Speaker 5>Typing the Dead and a few others have done it. <v Speaker 5>This one is typing Rogue Light Survival, I believe is <v Speaker 5>how they pitched it. And it's great when you just <v Speaker 5>see like three words describing a game and you're like, <v Speaker 5>I'm man, that sounds like my shit, I'm gonna try it, <v Speaker 5>and then it's exactly what you wanted and more. I <v Speaker 5>think it's technically early access, but yeah, you're just like <v Speaker 5>a dot at the center of the screen, like look <v Speaker 5>it up. It's very minimalistic, almost like sound shapes esque <v Speaker 5>art style, and enemies are coming in from all angles <v Speaker 5>like imagine like a Vampire Survivors, but you're not moving, <v Speaker 5>and they have a word above them and you type <v Speaker 5>it to shoot projectiles at them and kill them. Some <v Speaker 5>have shields, some shoot their own projectiles that have words <v Speaker 5>that you have to like type to counteract. And you <v Speaker 5>are leveling up. You are getting turrets, you are getting <v Speaker 5>like Tesla mindes, you're getting giant spinning saw blades that <v Speaker 5>chop up the enemies and words and things like that, <v Speaker 5>you know, elemental damage. Some really clever boss bites and everything. <v Speaker 5>So yeah, it's just one of those games where it's <v Speaker 5>just your fingers never leave the keyboard, even like when <v Speaker 5>you're leveling up and stuff, you choose you know which <v Speaker 5>upgrade you're doing by typing the word to the bottom, <v Speaker 5>and yeah, you're just it's there's no way to not <v Speaker 5>pay constant attention and be like super locked in all <v Speaker 5>the time with this game. You have to be and <v Speaker 5>every time I'm done, it's just like you feel like <v Speaker 5>chemicals in your brain were just going insane for however <v Speaker 5>long you're playing it. <v Speaker 4>And it's got an endless mode. <v Speaker 5>So if you're really good at typing, that's probably a <v Speaker 5>real fun leaderboard situation there. It tracks like your words <v Speaker 5>for a minute to overtime and stuff like that. So <v Speaker 5>if anything I'm saying sounds appealing to at all, check <v Speaker 5>out Glyphic. <v Speaker 4>It's it's fun. <v Speaker 1>I did play some of it and I was immediately <v Speaker 1>was like, yep, I get it. <v Speaker 3>I like this so much and I want to like <v Speaker 3>just sit down and really spend a long time with <v Speaker 3>it because I'm like I can play it for ten minutes. <v Speaker 6>Here. <v Speaker 3>Those trials, uh, they go on for how long would <v Speaker 3>you say each trial. <v Speaker 5>There is a like actual timer at the top, I <v Speaker 5>want to say it, okays, like maybe five minutes each, <v Speaker 5>it could be more. Yeah, and then a boss fight <v Speaker 5>at the end, and yeah, like fun stuff where it's like, okay, <v Speaker 5>there's two floating enemies here for a boss and it's <v Speaker 5>like I think that one's called Gemini, and the give <v Speaker 5>with them is every once in a while they will <v Speaker 5>heal each other to the maximum of the healthiest one. <v Speaker 5>So that way, like you don't just want to like <v Speaker 5>go after one and take them down because it's to. <v Speaker 1>The maxim. <v Speaker 5>Rain boss. Okay, yeah, yeah, like that that's what I <v Speaker 5>was thinking. And so yeah, I gotta bounce back and <v Speaker 5>forth quite a bit. And there's a Cerberus where it's <v Speaker 5>like three different heads you got to attack. There's one <v Speaker 5>that scrambles the letters of all. <v Speaker 2>The words and that was nasty. It's got clever stuff. Yeah, <v Speaker 2>it's really good and zoning. Zoning feels like an important <v Speaker 2>thing as well, because you're not only targeting enemies, you're <v Speaker 2>triggering off like these different abilities like this like missile <v Speaker 2>hammer of Dawn kind of thing. <v Speaker 4>There was like a meteor shower one. <v Speaker 5>Yeah, I got an upgrade there where It's like, okay, <v Speaker 5>if on the left side of the screen, there's a <v Speaker 5>place where if I type this word, I'm going to <v Speaker 5>trigger a meteor shower and that's got a huge radius. <v Speaker 5>It's like, well, I know that area of the screen <v Speaker 5>is pretty taken care of. All the meteors are coming down, <v Speaker 5>so I can focus over here on the on the <v Speaker 5>right side of the screen. <v Speaker 4>Uh yeah, yeah, really clever stuff like that, lovely fantastic. Uh. <v Speaker 2>Something that Mike Minatti and I checked out quick look <v Speaker 2>with the director and a very dear special friend is <v Speaker 2>now on the website. We checked out people of note Dan, <v Speaker 2>I'm gonna say this now, this is the most unu <v Speaker 2>game in the world. <v Speaker 4>That's what I've heard. <v Speaker 2>Yes, for folks that don't know, this is a it's <v Speaker 2>a JRPG, it's a turn based RPG, but it is <v Speaker 2>all about musicals. They have like the Clare Obscure, the <v Speaker 2>Paper Mario style of like timing based combat where even <v Speaker 2>if you're doing your basic attack, you have to like <v Speaker 2>sync it up to like the little rhythm based PIP <v Speaker 2>and you do more damage less damage depending on the <v Speaker 2>timing nature of it. Your abilities are also tied to <v Speaker 2>that and you know, do need to say this off <v Speaker 2>the tippy top. We have a dear special friend that <v Speaker 2>is a prominent character in the game. But that being said, <v Speaker 2>I'm actually having a lot of fun in this. I'm like, <v Speaker 2>maybe you know, I'm like, I've finished the first full <v Speaker 2>complete world that they dump you in after the initial <v Speaker 2>tutorial area, and I'm having a good time with it. <v Speaker 2>The RPG nature of it, I think is really well done, <v Speaker 2>where you can wind up finding specific abilities that already <v Speaker 2>feel kind of broken, even in like the early world <v Speaker 2>of it, where it's like, okay, I can see these <v Speaker 2>synergies popping off now and in the same way where <v Speaker 2>Claire Obscure in mid to late game, the like timing <v Speaker 2>of it would kind of feel very complicated to pull <v Speaker 2>off every time. It already feels that way in a <v Speaker 2>good way in the early stages of People of Note, <v Speaker 2>And because it's all rhythm based, for some reason in <v Speaker 2>my head, is clicking a little bit easier to hit <v Speaker 2>onto the beat versus Claire Obscure, where just watching the <v Speaker 2>little pips too shrink down. The other bit that I <v Speaker 2>think is might go underappreciated in People of Note is <v Speaker 2>that I really do like the puzzles, and we talked <v Speaker 2>to the director, and the director straight up said like, hey, <v Speaker 2>if you don't want to encounter any of the battles <v Speaker 2>or the puzzles, you can completely turn them off if <v Speaker 2>you just want to go through and try and encounter <v Speaker 2>the story. That being said, I have enjoyed the puzzles <v Speaker 2>and the puzzles ranging from like stage world puzzles to platforming, <v Speaker 2>light platforming, tile based ones. And for the theater kids <v Speaker 2>out there, this is our game, everybody. This is finally <v Speaker 2>the ven diagram of JRPGs in musicals has just become <v Speaker 2>one again. We haven't felt this represented since Final Fantasy. <v Speaker 4>Ten to two and. <v Speaker 2>The music at least the first two songs that you <v Speaker 2>come across in the game. Fantastic title card reveal, by <v Speaker 2>the way, I think it popped Mike really hard. <v Speaker 1>Yes, I love a late title drop for sure. You <v Speaker 1>know what you talk about the musical nature of it, <v Speaker 1>and watching you play it for a while, it's like, oh, <v Speaker 1>because yeah, you're in this world and it's like you're <v Speaker 1>at a club and maybe there's techno or K pop <v Speaker 1>blah blah. But then you know there was a part <v Speaker 1>where there was basically just a cut scene and it <v Speaker 1>got very Broadway musical there for But I'm like, ah, <v Speaker 1>that's that's what i want. Yeah, yeah, give me this <v Speaker 1>kind of what you know, one day more lay miss style. <v Speaker 1>Everybody's gonna say their piece in musical form about where <v Speaker 1>they are in the story at the moment. That's the <v Speaker 1>good stuff. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, Kayla out there, I think you would really really <v Speaker 2>like this game because it has the capacity to be <v Speaker 2>a very tough uh JERREPG because you could just crank <v Speaker 2>up the difficulty and there are music, there's musical numbers <v Speaker 2>in this. <v Speaker 4>She's just a half sister in case anyone's wondering. <v Speaker 3>The musical side though, is where it comes from. <v Speaker 1>Both you guys share that of course. <v Speaker 3>Hi, Kayla Jan So you're obviously the vibes are working <v Speaker 3>for you, like the sort of what it's going for <v Speaker 3>in terms of presentation. You are saying that you're having <v Speaker 3>fun playing it though, right, not that you can like <v Speaker 3>to like pull those two things apart. Obviously one leads <v Speaker 3>to the other, but you're like, it's just a fun <v Speaker 3>game to play. On top of that, Yeah, it's a <v Speaker 3>fun game to play. <v Speaker 2>And you know, I've talked on this podcast where I've <v Speaker 2>been searching for like an RPG to play, and you know, <v Speaker 2>the answers and suggestions that people have given me are <v Speaker 2>like upwards to like thirty to fifty hour journeys, where <v Speaker 2>I don't quite want to invest that much time. I <v Speaker 2>kind of want to like turn my brain off and <v Speaker 2>engage in turn based combat in a way that can <v Speaker 2>be satisfying. But also if I do need to turn <v Speaker 2>my brain off, I can just kind of sink into <v Speaker 2>that autopilot mode. And because it is the like timing <v Speaker 2>based combat, and it is only timing based combat in <v Speaker 2>the offensive side. There's no defense portion of it at <v Speaker 2>all where you're dodging or anything, that is enough to <v Speaker 2>kind of like keep me engaged. And if I am <v Speaker 2>just like tuning out of the game, it'll lock me <v Speaker 2>back in when they drop a new musical number. And <v Speaker 2>also the director here, I think him and I are <v Speaker 2>cut from very similar cloths, because all of the puns <v Speaker 2>in the game just make me giggle and go, that <v Speaker 2>was stupid. And then if I were to drop similar puns, <v Speaker 2>I know I would get booze in the chat parentheses. <v Speaker 3>Positive that's what you're going for when you're dropping a pun, though, <v Speaker 3>let's be cool. Okay. Then last thing, in terms of <v Speaker 3>musical stylings, is it a variety? <v Speaker 1>Is it is there? <v Speaker 3>Like, oh, they're they're obviously inspired by Sondheim or something <v Speaker 3>like that, Like is there like is it obvious? <v Speaker 2>The first two numbers in particular feel very greatest Showman <v Speaker 2>esque Okay, oh yeah, yeah, so very like bombastic loud, <v Speaker 2>not gang vocals, because that's in like different genres of music, <v Speaker 2>but layered melodies on top of each other. <v Speaker 4>I'm a pop. <v Speaker 2>I am a sucker. When characters will start, it's not <v Speaker 2>just a duet, but it's multiple characters singing their own <v Speaker 2>songs on top of each other. <v Speaker 1>Mike one day More effect, the one day More effects exactly. <v Speaker 4>Uh. <v Speaker 2>We initially met the villain of yeah, the main villain <v Speaker 2>of the game, in a smaller cut scene, and then <v Speaker 2>when he popped off into his solo Mike lost the <v Speaker 2>ship because I think he kind of sounded like the <v Speaker 2>evil priest from Hunchback of Notre Jam. <v Speaker 1>Oh, it's just definitely really a frolo time. Yes, I <v Speaker 1>like the villain a lot. I was like, oh that guy, <v Speaker 1>he's a cool guy. I mean, it's probably not a <v Speaker 1>cool guy. It's probably like probably thinks being Horney is. <v Speaker 3>Evil in the sin like the right which right, yeah, <v Speaker 3>but I was like the. <v Speaker 1>Villain was good. He kind of he kind of reminded <v Speaker 1>me of JP from Street Fighter five but better. <v Speaker 4>Interesting, incredible. <v Speaker 3>Yeah yeah, yeah, you know, you know, the whole guy <v Speaker 3>the cane, right, although that guy reminds me of the <v Speaker 3>people from Clear Obscure, so. <v Speaker 1>Yeah maybe yeah, yeah, he has a little yeahir now <v Speaker 1>renoir Yeah hn wow wowow wow, waw. <v Speaker 3>The French will love it when you say that. <v Speaker 4>That trial. There we go, thank you. I didn't I <v Speaker 4>didn't quite know what you were doing in. <v Speaker 3>First from Gail Perry. <v Speaker 1>Trying Yo Moto something. I don't know what their deadert is. <v Speaker 4>Oh boy, oh boy. <v Speaker 1>Uh but from away, by the way, I told the <v Speaker 1>English story at a friend's birthday at a pub, and <v Speaker 1>when I got to the punchline, I got excited. It <v Speaker 1>screamed English, probably too loud in the in the. <v Speaker 4>Bar, representing us. <v Speaker 2>Well, Mike, but you know, to answer Mikey's or Mike <v Speaker 2>continue Mikey's thought about diversified music genres. It drops you <v Speaker 2>in to like a small town that has Japanese and <v Speaker 2>K pop influences, and then the next world is kind <v Speaker 2>of like a dad butt rock type of world, so <v Speaker 2>it feels like they are kind of hopping and bopping <v Speaker 2>around to different genres of music. In terms of the <v Speaker 2>music numbers, I think they are going to be pretty <v Speaker 2>diversified as well. Tune in for the Quick Look also <v Speaker 2>so you can hear Mikey Belt one Day More and <v Speaker 2>a little bit of memories. It was very, very moving. <v Speaker 3>And it is out now. The Quick looky X right <v Speaker 3>did you guys put that up? <v Speaker 2>Yeah, The Quick Look X is out now, and so <v Speaker 2>is the game. It's out on everything. So if anything <v Speaker 2>we've said entices you at all, and also if you're <v Speaker 2>a theater nerd, this one's for us. <v Speaker 4>Gang. Finally, finally we have a musical video game. <v Speaker 2>There have been multiple musical video games since then, of course, <v Speaker 2>but this one's specific. <v Speaker 1>I'mem before Christmas Lookie Boogie's Revenge or whatever on the <v Speaker 1>PlayStation two. <v Speaker 2>Guitar, Yeah, guitar. I didn't want to s say this <v Speaker 2>because we have the director of the game there with us, <v Speaker 2>but Yo, there are gonna be some thirsty ass motherfuckers <v Speaker 2>because of this game. Because some of the game character designs, <v Speaker 2>not just the main protagonist, but of all the other people. <v Speaker 2>If people got a little bit too weird fawning over <v Speaker 2>let's say K Pop Demon Hunter characters, they're gonna do <v Speaker 2>the same exact thing over here. <v Speaker 4>Anyway. <v Speaker 2>That is a confusion of life. That is the paradox. <v Speaker 2>It is okay to be attracted to a video game <v Speaker 2>character or an animated character, that is the paradox, just <v Speaker 2>like Darwin's paradox has been happening and Jeff Grubb has <v Speaker 2>been exploring. <v Speaker 3>I have been playing Darwin's paradox. I'm trying to know <v Speaker 3>if I or if I know the answer to your <v Speaker 3>question whether or not I'm attracted to this octopus. <v Speaker 1>Yeah. <v Speaker 3>Sure, he's a handsome octopus. I like this game. It <v Speaker 3>is from Konami publishing it, and then it's a developer <v Speaker 3>that they're working on. That's kind of one of those <v Speaker 3>things they did with Were they the ones that did <v Speaker 3>deliver at all costs? <v Speaker 4>Yeah? <v Speaker 1>Yes, right, So. <v Speaker 3>Similar thing here where the ECONOMI spotted a game they liked, <v Speaker 3>they took it under their wing, and they published it <v Speaker 3>as a Konami game. Uh, And that was part of <v Speaker 3>what I was interested in. I was also just I <v Speaker 3>like the look of it. It kind of had an <v Speaker 3>Abe's Odyssey style to it. I thought, yeah, and playing <v Speaker 3>it and playing that, I would say, yeah, that's kind <v Speaker 3>of what they're going for here in terms of not <v Speaker 3>necessarily how it feels, but the way it presents itself <v Speaker 3>where you are solving platforming puzzles as this character that <v Speaker 3>can go around and grab things and move things in <v Speaker 3>the in the environment, and there's some physics on top <v Speaker 3>of that to make the puzzles feel weighty. <v Speaker 1>You know it. <v Speaker 3>It's so it's not going to be. It's not Mario Brothers. <v Speaker 1>I want to try to give an example of like <v Speaker 1>what to expect from it, like the one of the <v Speaker 1>early puzzle sections that kind of went on for a <v Speaker 1>bit longer than I was expecting to the plat where <v Speaker 1>it's like, oh, this is just what the game is <v Speaker 1>going to be. <v Speaker 3>It's going to be these sections like this. There it's <v Speaker 3>almost a stealth section. You get dropped back in the water, <v Speaker 3>exploring the land a little bit, and there's like a <v Speaker 3>sewer system you get into and the sewer system has <v Speaker 3>a bunch of rats and the rats are chasing you, <v Speaker 3>and if the rats touch you, you're basically dead, so <v Speaker 3>you have you have to avoid them, and you could <v Speaker 3>get in the light a little bit, but very quickly <v Speaker 3>it's like, oh, no, you need to jump into this <v Speaker 3>chemical glowing waste to cover yourself in it, and then <v Speaker 3>the rats won't mess with you while you're covered in it. <v Speaker 3>And so you have to like run from one section <v Speaker 3>to the next in the sewer system before the glowy <v Speaker 3>stuff washes off of the octopus, So you're just trying <v Speaker 3>to get from one point to the next, and then <v Speaker 3>they're occasionally you'll get to a point where it's like, oh, <v Speaker 3>there's a barrel in the way. I need to figure <v Speaker 3>out how to get it out of the way before <v Speaker 3>this stuff runs off. So you're kind of solving puzzles <v Speaker 3>under a little bit of a time crunch, and that <v Speaker 3>seems to be the loop of the game where you're <v Speaker 3>doing stuff like that through a section, then once it's over, <v Speaker 3>you kind of get the next gimmick and you're doing that. <v Speaker 3>And I thought it was pretty well designed overall. It's <v Speaker 3>not gonna blow anyone away, and I definitely like playing <v Speaker 3>it more than I liked playing Abs in all those games. <v Speaker 3>But it has that spirit there as well. <v Speaker 1>So if you're looking for something along those lines, a <v Speaker 1>little bit of a thinking platform, yeah, it should have that. <v Speaker 2>They definitely have the two thousands, Jimmy Neutron, Nicolay and <v Speaker 2>eyes going on with that look of the game as well. <v Speaker 3>And that presentation works as well, where they do get <v Speaker 3>a little bit cinematic with the you know, the in <v Speaker 3>between ers where you're like you're going from one level <v Speaker 3>to the next and it's like, Okay, we're going to <v Speaker 3>show off kind of what to expect from this this <v Speaker 3>new land, and those zoom in close to the character, <v Speaker 3>and the character animates well and looks really expressive, and <v Speaker 3>the world looks really nice, and then it runs great <v Speaker 3>on the Steam deck. Then you're just kind of controlling <v Speaker 3>the two D plane of a three D game. So yeah, <v Speaker 3>I think it's neat. It's definitely worth trying if you <v Speaker 3>have some like like interest in what I described, and <v Speaker 3>then I think it might be on one of those platforms. <v Speaker 3>It might be on like PlayStation Plus or something like that. <v Speaker 2>I think, GREB, where do you land on like stealth <v Speaker 2>sections in a two D game? Uh? <v Speaker 3>I mean there's some games that like when they build <v Speaker 3>themselves around that concept being a two D stealth game <v Speaker 3>like Mark of the Ninja. That's one of my favorite games. <v Speaker 3>I love Mark of the Ninja and then other games <v Speaker 3>where it's like they'll introduce that. I think anytime I <v Speaker 3>can hide in a doorway in the background of a <v Speaker 3>two D level where it's like, oh, here's a closet <v Speaker 3>and you can sort of like like curl around the closet, <v Speaker 3>hide in the shadow, and the character walks past you, <v Speaker 3>I like that. That feels cool. Anything more than that, <v Speaker 3>it's usually probably a bit much. <v Speaker 4>Do you wind up playing that the Terminator or two <v Speaker 4>D No Fate yet? <v Speaker 1>I did. <v Speaker 5>Yeah, there's that one sequence where the T one thousand <v Speaker 5>is chasing you in a very much it's exactly what <v Speaker 5>you describe like sericon or you like duck into the closet. <v Speaker 1>Cool. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, I think I think there was a part where <v Speaker 3>the end of the game where they did something like <v Speaker 3>that and it was like a little bit more challenging. <v Speaker 3>It was like, okay, this a little cheap now, But <v Speaker 3>up until that point, I was enjoying that I'd beat <v Speaker 3>that game. <v Speaker 1>That game is pretty good. <v Speaker 4>Yeah, there was. <v Speaker 2>I checked out Darn's Paradox during a preview for during <v Speaker 2>GDC and the stealth segments kind of bugged me, But <v Speaker 2>maybe I just don't wind up liking them when they're <v Speaker 2>in a two D plane versus three D anyway, moving along, <v Speaker 2>going from the Sea to the space, Like, Manati, you've <v Speaker 2>checked out Marvel Cosmic Invasion. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, just over this holiday weekend my girlfriend's visiting. I <v Speaker 1>was like, all right, I actually rarely played games on <v Speaker 1>my couch in the living room on like an Xbox <v Speaker 1>or PlayStation anymore. What's something we could play pretty quickly <v Speaker 1>here and have some fun And just going through game pass, <v Speaker 1>I saw Marvel Cosmic Invasion. This is that beat them <v Speaker 1>up from tribute games to people who did Teenage Ninja Turtles, <v Speaker 1>Shredders Revenge. This came out last year, Like I played <v Speaker 1>the demo of it and then I was like, yeah, <v Speaker 1>once that comes out, I'll get around to it, and <v Speaker 1>I never did. This was a good opportunity just to <v Speaker 1>go play through the whole thing with my girlfriend for <v Speaker 1>an evening. It was a really fun way to spend <v Speaker 1>that evening, right, just you know, really good pixel art, <v Speaker 1>very you know, just nice visuals all around, very punchy <v Speaker 1>combat beat them up stuff felt good. I like the <v Speaker 1>tax system, so you're picking two characters, so you're kind <v Speaker 1>of swapping between it. You can like call one in <v Speaker 1>the middle of a combo or slip swap in the <v Speaker 1>middle of a combo to extend it. And you know, <v Speaker 1>like each character has a different thing too, so they're <v Speaker 1>not just Pillett swaps or you know, like especially in <v Speaker 1>these old beat them ups, like you know, Teamyot Ninja Turtles, <v Speaker 1>they're all basically the same a little bit different. We've <v Speaker 1>like the old X Men r K game, like everybody <v Speaker 1>has like the one power but otherwise very similar here, <v Speaker 1>it's like, okay, nothing American can throw the shields like <v Speaker 1>a kind of uppercut anti air thing, or as an <v Speaker 1>iron Man can just straight up fly. You can shoot <v Speaker 1>the repuls or blast, but they have three charge over time, <v Speaker 1>so stuff like that is is cool. <v Speaker 3>I like how they get the levels encourage you to <v Speaker 3>swap up the characters as well by having like the <v Speaker 3>canonical characters for the level, and it's like, okay, so <v Speaker 3>I wasn't gonna use this character, but now this this <v Speaker 3>level is expecting me to do that, so I'll swap over. <v Speaker 1>Them and then you can get a bonus. <v Speaker 3>I think if you do certain things in the stage <v Speaker 3>with them. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, yeah, I mean they do that, but they also <v Speaker 1>like like your character's level up, and so they get <v Speaker 1>like perks for you know, when you play the thumbs. <v Speaker 1>There was a bit of like, well, now this character <v Speaker 1>is stronger, I feel like I should just keep playing <v Speaker 1>as them. So I felt a little dissent de incentivized <v Speaker 1>to swap characters, I guess, which was maybe a little <v Speaker 1>bit of a bummer to me. So I did just <v Speaker 1>kind of stay with Captain America and Iron Man no time, <v Speaker 1>you though, you know, you straight up like our unlocking <v Speaker 1>characters like Venom or the Silver Surfer while you're you're <v Speaker 1>playing the game. So yeah, I guess, like I understand <v Speaker 1>you want to have that progression system of parties, Like, yeah, <v Speaker 1>maybe didn't. I bet if I had just swapped anyways, <v Speaker 1>I would have been fine. I wouldn't have noticed. But <v Speaker 1>in my mind I was like, but this character has <v Speaker 1>a plus botus self, and it says I have a <v Speaker 1>new passive skill. I don't know what that passive skill is, <v Speaker 1>but I have it, and I asses it. <v Speaker 3>I think like that what got me over the hump <v Speaker 3>is like, oh, if I do these certain challenges with <v Speaker 3>these characters, I'll get extra upgrades and stuff like that, <v Speaker 3>so it's like I might as well try to maximize it, <v Speaker 3>and then yeah, it's it's I did get to a <v Speaker 3>point playing by myself where there was a couple levels <v Speaker 3>that I had to do a couple of times to <v Speaker 3>be able to beat them, and I was like, Okay, <v Speaker 3>so I'm leveling up these characters now and they'll be <v Speaker 3>ready for the rest of the game, and I'll go <v Speaker 3>over to these characters and kind of do the same <v Speaker 3>thing with them. <v Speaker 2>I do really enjoy this game for the sheer fact <v Speaker 2>that they have cosmic ghostwriter in it. <v Speaker 1>Shit, that's really yeah, really, it looks great and they <v Speaker 1>do some good pools with a character is not always <v Speaker 1>the most obvious thing, like it's Beta ray Bill instead <v Speaker 1>or right, there's even something I like, there's a lady <v Speaker 1>show up with a sword, and now I was just like, <v Speaker 1>is that magic or whatever? Who I only know about <v Speaker 1>recently because of the Marvel rivals in Toekon and know <v Speaker 1>some other person that I don't even know, Like, okay, <v Speaker 1>I would say, it's kind of hard for me to <v Speaker 1>feel much, I guess, just to feel much with Marvel <v Speaker 1>stuff anymore. Oh yeah, I just I just feel so <v Speaker 1>kind of like overwhelmed by it and just to sensitize <v Speaker 1>to it. And I'm having that a little bit of <v Speaker 1>token where it's like, I don't know who. They could <v Speaker 1>show a token where I'd be like, oh, yeah, I <v Speaker 1>guess it would be Cyclops for you, Jan that would <v Speaker 1>be it. That would be the big spop for me <v Speaker 1>at this point. Wise, I just don't know how much <v Speaker 1>outcare the game has some of the problems Out of <v Speaker 1>Life's games have where it's like I'm finding the same <v Speaker 1>kind of enemies for for a long time here, haven't <v Speaker 1>I you know, something that just comes with the genre. <v Speaker 1>It will say interesting, I did like this game. It's funny, <v Speaker 1>how you know. I thought this would be the big <v Speaker 1>beat him up lassion and it was actually Absolom, which <v Speaker 1>I think is even from the same publisher. In fact, <v Speaker 1>I remember at Summer Game Fest at their booth they <v Speaker 1>had Marvel Cosmetication, then they had Absolom there and I <v Speaker 1>was like, oh, what's that. Oh it looks like a <v Speaker 1>Golden Ax. That's the any who And that ended up <v Speaker 1>kind of being the more impactful game. <v Speaker 3>We uh, we should do a tier list of the <v Speaker 3>modern beat them ups. We can pick one game like <v Speaker 3>this is when. <v Speaker 5>They started, and yeah, it's like Castle Crashers the beginning <v Speaker 5>of that, well. <v Speaker 3>Maybe Castle Crashers, Like it's like, yeah, the beginning that <v Speaker 3>was almost like. <v Speaker 1>A separate, smaller revival with that Pig game. Back then <v Speaker 1>it was moren't something newer that started around four Baby <v Speaker 1>River City Girls one. Yeah, oh yeah, that'd be good. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, because it feels like there's they started leaning into <v Speaker 2>a little bit more depth in the combat at least. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, depth in the combat, depth in the reel playability. Yes, yeah, absolutely, <v Speaker 3>I mean Streets Streets Rage four's rogue mode, Rogue Light <v Speaker 3>Mode is fantastic. Oh, this is the key idea of <v Speaker 3>what to do here. And then I obviously absolutely took <v Speaker 3>that ran with it. <v Speaker 2>I'm a big Scott Pilgrim mark. I still even though <v Speaker 2>the game came out maybe a month or so ago, <v Speaker 2>he still want to do a quick look for it <v Speaker 2>because that game is doing some interesting things. Uh, specifically, <v Speaker 2>if you were tuned into the whole story of Scott Pilgrim, <v Speaker 2>there was that Netflix show that came out that kind <v Speaker 2>of twisted the story around, which was a fun neat <v Speaker 2>look at the universe. The game does a very similar <v Speaker 2>thing that I want more folks to see. Also, give <v Speaker 2>us more on Amana Gucci music and that's not normally <v Speaker 2>my Jimmy jam but tracks were hot. <v Speaker 4>Okay. <v Speaker 1>I do want to check OD that's Scott Pilgrim still <v Speaker 1>because that's also tribute games. So oh yeah they man, <v Speaker 1>they've been doing a lot, and uh, just please just <v Speaker 1>give them the Simpsons after after all. <v Speaker 2>This, it has to happen eventually, right, try the coward. <v Speaker 1>You won't do it? Yeah, come on, Drake, I'll get <v Speaker 1>you a diet. <v Speaker 4>Oh whatever you want. <v Speaker 1>Uh. <v Speaker 2>Speaking about games with multiple characters in them, Mike Manati, <v Speaker 2>you have continued your adventures through Resident Evil zero. <v Speaker 1>I beat it, jan I beat Resident Evil zero. I <v Speaker 1>did it, which yeah feels good. It always seems like <v Speaker 1>a controversial game and I'm like ready to be a <v Speaker 1>Resident Evil zero defender now come on. <v Speaker 4>Yeah. <v Speaker 1>But then when I ranked it in the series, I'm like, <v Speaker 1>it goes on the bottom bottom and I haven't played <v Speaker 1>like six, right, so you know, like the it's in <v Speaker 1>like that tier with Resual three, remake, resumele five for <v Speaker 1>me are games? I like five? The game those oh <v Speaker 1>it five has issues. Five is really fun, but it <v Speaker 1>has it has certain issues. Yes, kind of like this <v Speaker 1>game where I think it was fun. It looks great <v Speaker 1>because it just looks like Resuvul one remake. It's some <v Speaker 1>of the stuff that I was worried about that people <v Speaker 1>complain about a lot, like the way the inventory works. <v Speaker 1>You don't have the item boxes. You just drop items <v Speaker 1>on the ground. You have to deal with it like that. <v Speaker 1>That wasn't too bad. Yeah, it's you know, inventory management, <v Speaker 1>and it's slightly less convenient than it is in some <v Speaker 1>of the other games. But you have two characters between <v Speaker 1>them you can kind of figure that inventory out. It's okay, <v Speaker 1>you'll you'll get there. <v Speaker 5>You've got a question from the chat Mike, I think yeah. <v Speaker 5>For you from team kayla. <v Speaker 1>Oh, is Resident Evil zero worse the to remake? I <v Speaker 1>don't believe that. Yes, I think. I think. I think <v Speaker 1>even kala Oh I don't know, because this game wasn't <v Speaker 1>very scary, and that often seems to beer issue with <v Speaker 1>what makes it the worst the ones. Yeah, like there <v Speaker 1>were some scary moments in the beginning, but most resieval <v Speaker 1>games kind of meddle out on that as time goes <v Speaker 1>by some of the other things I heard about, like oh, <v Speaker 1>the enemies are sort of annoying and the very bullet spongy. <v Speaker 1>That was true, but I liked having the two characters <v Speaker 1>and songs on the puzzle with them. The puzzles in <v Speaker 1>general I relatively enjoyed. I liked both characters, bad boy <v Speaker 1>Billy with his tribal arm tattoos and Rebecca Chambers. It <v Speaker 1>was a good crew. I it struggles just with that <v Speaker 1>comparison to Resue One remake because the environments you start <v Speaker 1>off on that train, and that's all I knew about <v Speaker 1>this game. In my mind, this game may have taken <v Speaker 1>place entirely on a train. That's what I saw that as. <v Speaker 3>Well, and I don't to be clear, that's what I <v Speaker 3>want from this game. <v Speaker 1>I want this game to be on a train and <v Speaker 1>have pre rendered backgrounds like Razuvle remake on the game <v Speaker 1>game and look awesome. That's what I want. Like you're <v Speaker 1>on the train for like two hours in the beginning. <v Speaker 1>Is that it's the best part of the game, And <v Speaker 1>I get why it's maybe hard to keep that up <v Speaker 1>for long because it's a train. You just gotta you know, <v Speaker 1>they got up the train, you got down the train, <v Speaker 1>you just maybe you know, two levels and then you <v Speaker 1>could go on the top of the train. Part of <v Speaker 1>me which is they could have extended that a little bit, <v Speaker 1>because then the next areas you're basically in Spencer Mansion <v Speaker 1>light it's like the Umbrella Research area and it's okay, <v Speaker 1>and then you're in some cathedral and then you're in <v Speaker 1>another underground research facility something something right, right, So it's <v Speaker 1>if they could have kept that train with that sort <v Speaker 1>of you know, elegant oriental express look that that was <v Speaker 1>very striking, and then after that the game kind of <v Speaker 1>loses on having its own visual identity, even tho the <v Speaker 1>pre Runner background still look amazing, all right, still incredibly <v Speaker 1>attractive game, but yeah, it lose a little something there. <v Speaker 1>So it's a good time. I'm really glad that I <v Speaker 1>played it. I'd be very curious to see what they <v Speaker 1>do with it with a remake, and I hope when <v Speaker 1>they remake it they don't just turn it into Resionuval <v Speaker 1>to remake. I hope they find a way to make <v Speaker 1>the whole you're controlling two characters thing work and maybe <v Speaker 1>be a little bit less comforsate, maybe even make it <v Speaker 1>a co op gamey at some point, you got the <v Speaker 1>remake resume with five in this, so maybe work on <v Speaker 1>those co op mechanics for both of them. That'd be <v Speaker 1>a good time, that'd be smart. Yeah. <v Speaker 2>I really do like the idea of us doing a <v Speaker 2>baton pass with the different campaigns for Are six, because. <v Speaker 4>You can't just say these things. <v Speaker 1>Jan. <v Speaker 4>You know what I'm doun to do at some point then. <v Speaker 2>Is because I'm like, Mike six is something I never <v Speaker 2>checked out because of the gigantic. <v Speaker 4>Vomiting on it from the from games media. <v Speaker 3>Other people from the team in chat elsewhere discord are <v Speaker 3>are they're just beginning to panic. I see we'll say no, <v Speaker 3>just no, all right, So maybe I think we get right, Dan, <v Speaker 3>we have to do it. <v Speaker 5>I mean, Cayle and I had the intention of going <v Speaker 5>through Rubies. We had a fun time playing five co <v Speaker 5>op and we did one of the four campaigns and <v Speaker 5>both me and Kayla were like, oh, this is not well. <v Speaker 4>We can't keep going with this. <v Speaker 1>This is awful. <v Speaker 4>It's so fucking bad. <v Speaker 1>And say it for myself because like I put it <v Speaker 1>below Resuo zero and then I can be like Rezuo <v Speaker 1>zero is good. People are to me to it it's <v Speaker 1>not the worst Resident Evil game. Yeah. You need that. <v Speaker 1>You need to be able to say that part. That's crucial. <v Speaker 2>So yeah, right, God, how would we figure out who <v Speaker 2>does what campaign? That'd be a fun little yeah. <v Speaker 3>Roll roll dice, roll the dice, or or maybe a <v Speaker 3>community vote. Maybe they'll know which one's the worst and <v Speaker 3>they could punish us. <v Speaker 5>I think it came out I did whichever one was <v Speaker 5>in a graveyard. I think that's the Chris one. And <v Speaker 5>then there's one that starts with like a political thing <v Speaker 5>with like the president turning into zombie. I think that's <v Speaker 5>one that's Leon. So I think I've actually done two <v Speaker 5>of the four campaigns once when it came out, once <v Speaker 5>with Kayla. I would have to take the other one. <v Speaker 5>Then I will eventually play through all of the six <v Speaker 5>campaigns over the course of like fifteen years. <v Speaker 1>Oh. <v Speaker 3>I would want to do one with Mike where I <v Speaker 3>secretly install mods so he has to play as John HaLow. <v Speaker 1>Oh God, your character is ten percent small, young on <v Speaker 1>your face when you see this horse and you fall <v Speaker 1>in love with how is Oh he's stuck in geometry. <v Speaker 1>I can't believe it. <v Speaker 2>Mike gonna remind you of one of the best parts <v Speaker 2>of Parks and rec Little Sebastian. <v Speaker 1>All Right, I love Little Sebastian, but that's a real horse. <v Speaker 1>That's nobody mouded that horse. I guess maybe. Yeah, No, <v Speaker 1>humans definitely did. <v Speaker 4>Yeah, genetics totally moded that. <v Speaker 1>Yeah. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, yeah, God, that's a good name for an episode. <v Speaker 2>Modded that horse. Writing that down, Mike Manati. To cap <v Speaker 2>off the video game talk, you have checked out on <v Speaker 2>the switch to Virtua Fighter five Revo World stage. For <v Speaker 2>a Nintendo switch to we should play. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, it's funny because, like you know, the switch you <v Speaker 1>could play the new Resident Evil game. Well, and yet <v Speaker 1>when I play this fighting game from two thousand and <v Speaker 1>six on my switched to, I'm like, wow, this is <v Speaker 1>crazy for a Virtual Fighter five And I switched to <v Speaker 1>and it looks great right as as a fucking PS <v Speaker 1>three game. Everything has come to nu tendo. But for <v Speaker 1>some reason in my mind, I'm still like I'm playing <v Speaker 1>a Virtue Fighter game on my Nintendo console because I <v Speaker 1>was such a Sega kid, and you know, I love <v Speaker 1>Virtue Fighter I had. I had Virtual Fighter one and <v Speaker 1>two on my Saturn. I even got the Virtual Fighter <v Speaker 1>one remix disc that they mailed to Saturn owners because <v Speaker 1>the original port was so bad. I did y of <v Speaker 1>kids and I via kids everyone, Like, everyone was like, oh, <v Speaker 1>it was a terrible thing that they did, right, I <v Speaker 1>don't know that Giant head. It was funny. Come on, <v Speaker 1>I live a little. Uh yeah. Virtual Fighter five was <v Speaker 1>a good video game, and this is a very good <v Speaker 1>way of playing that video game, you know, especially you <v Speaker 1>could spend so much time in this game just kind <v Speaker 1>of picking a character and trying to learn everything. Even <v Speaker 1>though the game is like a three button game, right, <v Speaker 1>you got punch, kick, and block. There's so much nuance <v Speaker 1>to that. And then there are some characters who are <v Speaker 1>way more technical than others, Like you know, there's like <v Speaker 1>the luchador, right and what's going on with that? Or <v Speaker 1>it could just be Jeffree and do my wrestling moves <v Speaker 1>and my grapples and that feels really good as well. <v Speaker 1>I did not. I did not really even bother trying <v Speaker 1>the online stuff, and maybe I should have, but in <v Speaker 1>my mind's like that's probably not gonna work. I'm also <v Speaker 1>not that interested in seeing what people who have played <v Speaker 1>two thousand times more Virtual Fighter five than me are <v Speaker 1>going to do to me online. <v Speaker 2>Like, do you know if they do the whole like <v Speaker 2>weird arcist lobby system or is it just straight up <v Speaker 2>matchmaking in this. <v Speaker 1>I don't know because I didn't really mess around that <v Speaker 1>part of me takes the original heads. I think one <v Speaker 1>of the rivas had something like that, or there's been <v Speaker 1>so many versions of five. Yeah, so anyway, it was. <v Speaker 3>It was Virtual Fighter three, I think where it's like <v Speaker 3>the who's the main character Jackie or something like that. Kara, Yeah, <v Speaker 3>something like he was like spinning and his jacket was <v Speaker 3>spinning around his back, and it was like, oh, material <v Speaker 3>physics have come to video games. <v Speaker 1>This is the most realistic thing I've ever seen. Oh, <v Speaker 1>it's just been in my head ever since. <v Speaker 2>I need to bring something up. It's one of my <v Speaker 2>favorite tropes for a character to wear a jacket on <v Speaker 2>their shoulders over them and not like sleeves through but. <v Speaker 4>Like the Requiem guy. <v Speaker 2>Yes, yes, exactly like the Requiem dude. But it never <v Speaker 2>looks cool in real life. <v Speaker 4>It just seems not convenient. <v Speaker 5>Yeah, it seems like it's always gonna be sliding off <v Speaker 5>and you look like a dope, and it doesn't seem <v Speaker 5>like it would actually keep you warm, which is the <v Speaker 5>functional part of a jacket. <v Speaker 4>I've tried it so many times and I can't do it. <v Speaker 4>I'm sorry. I continue on with the Virtual Fighter. I'm sorry. <v Speaker 1>Somebody in chat's like, we should play all four campaigns <v Speaker 1>of Resuvil six at the same time. <v Speaker 2>We raise, Yeah, isn't there a campaign there's just one character. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, there's an eight of wa camp. I think that <v Speaker 1>is just the one character by himself. <v Speaker 5>No, honestly, okay, we're gimmicking it up. <v Speaker 4>Suddenly it sounds you're pretty good activity. <v Speaker 1>Apparently you can't still play that one in co op. <v Speaker 1>It is, okay, I was the player who's just a <v Speaker 1>generic agent. Incredible, let's go. Uh, I put data walk kicking. <v Speaker 1>She's like, I feel kind of bad about all the <v Speaker 1>genocideato because. <v Speaker 2>I'm hot, Mike. You know about my internal dialogue this <v Speaker 2>whole time. <v Speaker 1>There you go. I like that spider by the way, <v Speaker 1>that plush spider was kid. She got it for Easter. <v Speaker 1>Yeah you can get good. Uh yeah. Virtual Fighter five <v Speaker 1>still good vide game playing on uh switch, that's fun. <v Speaker 1>I'm excited for uh see what that news street Fighter, <v Speaker 1>street Fighter Virtue Fighter is going to be all about. <v Speaker 1>Very exciting. <v Speaker 2>We should check out some of this virtual fater on <v Speaker 2>u p F this week. <v Speaker 3>Oh yeah, I would, I would play some version. <v Speaker 4>I would do that too. <v Speaker 3>Excuse to play that online with you guys. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, I don't. I don't want to go on Matchmaker. <v Speaker 1>I don't want to play with you guys. And this <v Speaker 1>is this is the verse thingon that you know came <v Speaker 1>out on Steam last year. Yeah, totally, R know, it's <v Speaker 1>it's it's okay, there, switch places, Mike. <v Speaker 4>We're gonna play a quick game. <v Speaker 2>You cannot participate because you are more well versed at <v Speaker 2>least Virtual Fighter. I'm assuming grub Dan. We're gonna go <v Speaker 2>back and forth name as many Virtual Fighter Fighter characters <v Speaker 2>as we can. <v Speaker 1>Grub took by one. <v Speaker 3>Okay, so Virtue Fighter characters all right, I will say Jackieira. <v Speaker 4>Oh oh you're doing too okay you Rio Ninja. <v Speaker 1>Yeah okay, Jeffrey that I I have no more Sarah <v Speaker 1>oh yeah, uh the hornet, the car, that's Fire's mega mix. Okay, fine, <v Speaker 1>I'll see myself out. You guys have a good rest <v Speaker 1>of the podcast. It right a lot? Actually, yeah, Wolf <v Speaker 1>is sick as hell? All right, where'st well from? He's <v Speaker 1>got red hair? And also right, okay, okay, wolf. <v Speaker 2>H Wolf could be a Nacho lebre situation, you know <v Speaker 2>where UH had certain familial lineage, but it was also <v Speaker 2>raised in a specific UH location. Anyway, folks, we're gonna <v Speaker 2>go take a quick bricky break and we will be <v Speaker 2>back with the news right after this. <v Speaker 3>This is a frog, thank you. I think the natural <v Speaker 3>conclusion is eventually we're doing a panel and Dan couldn't <v Speaker 3>be there for some reason, and then we open up <v Speaker 3>the panel to questions from the audience and a man <v Speaker 3>walks up and introduces himself as Walter Krunk and it's <v Speaker 3>Dan and makeup. And at that point we already can't <v Speaker 3>trust anything on Reddit. I want to be able to <v Speaker 3>not trust anyone I ever meet, like this could be <v Speaker 3>Dan Riker. <v Speaker 5>You can trust it now, because fucking I heard Walter <v Speaker 5>Krunk got banned. There's serious discussions with the mod team <v Speaker 5>about Walter Krunk and they banned them. <v Speaker 1>Job. <v Speaker 2>If you navigate the various parts that Giant Bomb is <v Speaker 2>on the internet, specifically the discord, you will see I <v Speaker 2>have seen a discussion about it. <v Speaker 1>Oh my god, incredible, man, everyone's discussing Walter Krunk. All right, <v Speaker 1>let's get onto the autobiography, Star. <v Speaker 3>Wars Eclipse development is quote very slow going. Development on <v Speaker 3>that game, you know, which is the Quantic Dream game, <v Speaker 3>which is not supposed to be like a typical Quantic Dream. <v Speaker 3>It's going to be an action adventure. First got announced <v Speaker 3>in twenty twenty one, and it is apparently proceeding very slowly, <v Speaker 3>with very little progress over a month's Sources indicate the <v Speaker 3>game is still looking to be years off from completion. <v Speaker 3>Parent company net Ease, which as a reminder, I think <v Speaker 3>acquired Quantic Dream a few years ago, has been hesitant <v Speaker 3>to invest in expanding the development team. So this sounds <v Speaker 3>like another one of those issues where net E's acquired <v Speaker 3>a studio or started a new studio, like. <v Speaker 1>They did with the RGG. <v Speaker 3>Guy who was like, Okay, I'm gonna go to Nete's <v Speaker 3>and make something, and now he's made that game, and <v Speaker 3>net Ease is like, oh, we don't care about this anymore. <v Speaker 3>So you could put it out if you want, but <v Speaker 3>we're we're gonna we're not gonna spend on marketing or <v Speaker 3>anything like that or even do the publishing. So it yeah, <v Speaker 3>and this game was always going to take a long time. <v Speaker 3>I remember back in twenty twenty one and twenty twenty <v Speaker 3>two being like, yeah, I don't think this game comes <v Speaker 3>out until twenty twenty seven according to people that are <v Speaker 3>telling me what they know. And now we're coming up <v Speaker 3>on that next year, and it sounds like it won't <v Speaker 3>even be ready at that point. This was always one <v Speaker 3>that was weird. But you guys think we ever see <v Speaker 3>Quantic Dreams Star Wars Eclipse. <v Speaker 2>We've seen Mikey go ahead, Oh. <v Speaker 1>I mean so Quantic dream and release the game this year, <v Speaker 1>by the ways, and that while that Spellcasters podcaster yes right, <v Speaker 1>that came out, so it came out in early access <v Speaker 1>for twenty six it is like just under seven hundred <v Speaker 1>reviews at mixed so that games that's just not going <v Speaker 1>to happen. That game is not going to be a thing. <v Speaker 1>So they're going to lose money on that. I think <v Speaker 1>I read, I think I saw somewhere and I don't <v Speaker 1>know Mayze's case, that they were hoping to finance or <v Speaker 1>fund the Star Wars game with the money from Spellcasters. Yes, <v Speaker 1>that's not going to happen. This does not seem like <v Speaker 1>it's going to be a real video game. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, and we've already seen so many Star Wars movies <v Speaker 2>and games get announced, they'll have a trailer or a <v Speaker 2>little teaser and then nothing will ever happen with them. <v Speaker 2>And I think, right, just another one of those. <v Speaker 3>And like you know, the or it is a lot <v Speaker 3>of work has been done on this game, and so <v Speaker 3>you know, yeah, it's got a few years left, but <v Speaker 3>they've completed a lot of stuff. So that's one of <v Speaker 3>the issues is they kind of need to hire up <v Speaker 3>to work on other stuff they haven't done yet. And <v Speaker 3>the people who could do the other stuff, well, they've <v Speaker 3>already done a lot of their work. That does not <v Speaker 3>mean that it's like, oh, well they've already done so <v Speaker 3>much work, so they're just gonna see it through. No, <v Speaker 3>they could easily still just cancel this game and it <v Speaker 3>never sees the light of day. We've seen that, like <v Speaker 3>you said, Jan a number of times with similarly similarly <v Speaker 3>scoped out Star Wars games. <v Speaker 2>Specifically, so and I can't say that there are many <v Speaker 2>folks clamoring for a Quantic Dreams Star Wars game as well. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, I mean, especially like, do you guys remember the <v Speaker 3>details about it's setting and everything. <v Speaker 1>It's that High Republic stuff, that's the high Republic. <v Speaker 3>H Yeah, which you know, like they've kind of stopped <v Speaker 3>and started up again a little bit. There was they <v Speaker 3>like reintroduced a new comic line that still takes place <v Speaker 3>in the High Republic, but that never quite hit the <v Speaker 3>way that they were trying to get it to hit. <v Speaker 3>So like, who's gonna, like you said, Jane, who's asking <v Speaker 3>for this game? But specifically who's asking this game set <v Speaker 3>in the High Republic? Like I like some of the <v Speaker 3>High Republic stuff, and that's not what I'm showing up <v Speaker 3>to Star Wars games for. So it's always been in <v Speaker 3>a weird place. I don't feel like it's any more <v Speaker 3>real today than it was in twenty twenty one. <v Speaker 2>Star Wars is also just such in a funky place, like. <v Speaker 3>I, yeah, everyone's talking about everyone talked about Mandalorian and <v Speaker 3>Grogu dude. <v Speaker 1>And what's gonna happen with that? Like is that like <v Speaker 1>it's it's going to fizzle out? <v Speaker 4>Like yeah, I don't know. <v Speaker 2>I saw a trailer for it and then I don't know. <v Speaker 2>I love that first season a Mando, I love Pedro, Yeah, <v Speaker 2>but I felt nothing watching that trailer. <v Speaker 3>I mean it's like you gotta keep watching the second <v Speaker 3>season a Boba fet or whatever and all this other stuff. <v Speaker 3>And I did, Yeah, I mean I watched some of it, <v Speaker 3>but it's like every every ounce of it I watched <v Speaker 3>maybe less interested in whatever this. <v Speaker 1>Movie was gonna be, and now it's now it's here. <v Speaker 1>What just I still can't think about the time when <v Speaker 1>they go, like Mandalori needs a new ship to replace <v Speaker 1>his RV in the sky that blew up? How about <v Speaker 1>a two seater Naboo Star for a baby for a <v Speaker 1>baby you'll live in this? Yes? Where do they go <v Speaker 1>to the bathroom? Who cares? <v Speaker 2>I did initially pop for that until I thought about <v Speaker 2>the logistics. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, that is the thing where it's like I'm always <v Speaker 3>thinking about where do they go to the bathroom? <v Speaker 1>In space? <v Speaker 3>So yeah, I couldn't. I couldn't get on board with it. <v Speaker 3>All right, let's keep going here. Sony dlist hundreds more <v Speaker 3>PS five and PS four games, including Jesus Simulator. Sony <v Speaker 3>is escalating its efforts to clean up the PlayStation store <v Speaker 3>by delisting thousands of low quality or deceptive games with <v Speaker 3>the catalogs of publishers like Welding, bite Go Game console <v Speaker 3>publisher and VRC Forge recently wiped They removed titles like <v Speaker 3>Jesus Simulator, Watermelon Fruits Puzzle, and titles to entitled I'm Sorry, <v Speaker 3>and titles intended to confuse consumers, such as I Am <v Speaker 3>Busy Digging a Hole, which is a clear knockoff of <v Speaker 3>another game. One of the things that people are saying <v Speaker 3>is oh A has made it very simple for these <v Speaker 3>companies to make even more of these knockoff games very quickly, <v Speaker 3>and people will make a mistake and purchase them. I listen, <v Speaker 3>these games are so low quality. It's like, if you <v Speaker 3>want to get them off your store, I don't blame you. <v Speaker 3>I still think the better solution would be, like just <v Speaker 3>let people get refunds if they don't like the game <v Speaker 3>that they bought, like within it in the first two hours. <v Speaker 3>Just do exactly what Steam does and let people one <v Speaker 3>click get a refund. But Sony still won't do that. <v Speaker 3>So it is a problem that they have these deceptive <v Speaker 3>games on their store, or it's more of a problem <v Speaker 3>I should say. It would still be a problem for <v Speaker 3>a lot of people who feel like it clogs up <v Speaker 3>the store shelves makes it hard to find stuff, which <v Speaker 3>it certainly does. But yeah, you know, cleaning up their <v Speaker 3>store from a lot of this junk is probably going <v Speaker 3>to be one of the solutions here. But do you <v Speaker 3>guys expect Sony to eventually make it possible for people <v Speaker 3>to get an easy refund? <v Speaker 2>When was the last what was the last game that <v Speaker 2>launched poorly that they had to offer refunds? <v Speaker 4>Was it Cyberpunk? <v Speaker 1>I mean refunds? <v Speaker 2>Uh? <v Speaker 3>Yeah, but it might have of uh right, because they <v Speaker 3>shut that game down pretty quick. Yeah, Mind's I was <v Speaker 3>in Mindseye was another one. <v Speaker 1>Yes, that was because of a sabotage. <v Speaker 4>Though. <v Speaker 5>Of course, now we're gonna find out and that DLC <v Speaker 5>they're gonna but you're all gonna feel like fools. <v Speaker 2>I don't know. I'm so excited for that. That's because <v Speaker 2>we can't need to check it out. <v Speaker 3>We will, We will definitely be checking that out as <v Speaker 3>soon as it happens for sure. <v Speaker 1>But that what that did happen last week? Uh? <v Speaker 3>Mind's I said that they're gonna have DLCU for their game. <v Speaker 3>That explains who and why, like the sabotage behind Mind's <v Speaker 3>Eye happened. <v Speaker 4>Not just explain, it's gonna provide proof. <v Speaker 1>It's gonna pa names, guys. Yeah, I don't think you <v Speaker 1>can do. That's right. I mean legally that's a problem. <v Speaker 1>You can. <v Speaker 3>But your lawyers are gonna be killing themselves and you <v Speaker 3>feel like we're gonna get out of here. We can't <v Speaker 3>do this job anymore. <v Speaker 1>Please? <v Speaker 4>Is he the espionage? Is he he the sabotage? <v Speaker 1>He's been working for rock Star this entire Yeah? <v Speaker 4>You know what that minds? <v Speaker 5>I think as the energy of like when a wrestler <v Speaker 5>gets me too and then is like, oh, you're all <v Speaker 5>gonna feel like idiots. Here's my two hour YouTube explanation <v Speaker 5>showing all my text messages and naming all the names like. <v Speaker 2>It has that energy to it. Yes, Joey Ryles, you know, <v Speaker 2>naming names like an EC three type of deal. <v Speaker 4>They're going to control their narrative yet. <v Speaker 1>Uh yeah, it's uh so we're looking forward to that. <v Speaker 1>We'll see what that looks like. <v Speaker 3>I just continue to be baffled by everything happening with Minds. <v Speaker 3>I for sure, all right, PlayStation Studios removes nearly all <v Speaker 3>PC references from its website, so they still have not <v Speaker 3>come out as Sony and said that thing that Jason <v Speaker 3>Schreyer said, we're doing. We're not going to port all <v Speaker 3>of our big games, A big single player games to <v Speaker 3>PC anymore. We're not doing that anymore. Yeah, uh, they <v Speaker 3>haven't said that publicly, but they are clearly moving in <v Speaker 3>that direction, as a lot of their references in their <v Speaker 3>SDK and and all kinds of other stuff, they're uh <v Speaker 3>references on their terms of service, references on the store <v Speaker 3>that say PC. They've dropped that stuff. So they're de <v Speaker 3>emphasizing it. At the very least. I can imagine it's <v Speaker 3>probably going to be challenging for them to communicate it <v Speaker 3>a little bit because they don't want to make it <v Speaker 3>seem like they're never going to release anything on the <v Speaker 3>PC ever again because the multiplayer live service games will <v Speaker 3>still be coming to PC, so it's just a specific <v Speaker 3>set of games. But yeah, it does feel like that <v Speaker 3>is really happening. So recent games like Goes to Yota <v Speaker 3>and Sorrow's are just coming up soon. Those are the <v Speaker 3>first two to get marked as those won't be coming <v Speaker 3>to PC. There is no plans to do that, So <v Speaker 3>that era is over for now. And I guess how <v Speaker 3>do you guys feel about that? <v Speaker 1>And do you expect the change to continue to stick? <v Speaker 4>It seems silly? <v Speaker 1>Yeah, yeah, it's a bummer. I mean, at this point, <v Speaker 1>my PC is more powerful than my base PlayStation five, <v Speaker 1>and I'm not buying our PlayStation five pro anytime soon. <v Speaker 1>You know, even something like a Sorrow's If I play that, <v Speaker 1>I bet I'd like to play that game with mouse <v Speaker 1>and keyboard. That is a game mostly about pointing and <v Speaker 1>shooting at things largely. Yeah, it's it's a bumber seeing <v Speaker 1>that we're moving in that direction. I guess I kind <v Speaker 1>of get it from the perspective like why why aren't <v Speaker 1>we shoring up? Why aren't we really emphasizing the fact <v Speaker 1>that we are a console company. Why are we dabbling <v Speaker 1>in this PC space that you know that's a world <v Speaker 1>war Suddenly, PlayStation isn't special. They are incredibly special in <v Speaker 1>the console space. So I get again investing there a <v Speaker 1>little bit. I'm not going to be shot to work <v Speaker 1>back over here at some point in of five years, <v Speaker 1>ten years, whatever, Right, places games being a PC more regularly. <v Speaker 2>Again, I'm thinking less than that. I'm thinking three Yeah, on. <v Speaker 3>The other side of the PS six like, yeah, very quickly, <v Speaker 3>Like some of those launch games might show up on <v Speaker 3>PC like a year later, right, I could see that happening. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, depending on how I don't even want to say <v Speaker 2>the words PlayStation six launch goes. But if that goes <v Speaker 2>poorly or availability people's ability to even buy them is poor, <v Speaker 2>then they're going to need to still sell the software. <v Speaker 2>So I could see them pivoting and being like, oh, <v Speaker 2>you know what, we're back on PC. <v Speaker 3>Yep, yeah, And I'll say a lot of people in <v Speaker 3>chatter echoing that exact same sentiment. Jan I think that's <v Speaker 3>the general consens the series that once they get to <v Speaker 3>the PS six, they'll reintroduce it. At that point, it's <v Speaker 3>you know, it may take a little bit of time, <v Speaker 3>but they will all right. Speaking of PS six, report <v Speaker 3>claims that the PS six handheld will be more powerful <v Speaker 3>than the Xbox Series S when it launches in terms <v Speaker 3>of just raw performance and then anything involving ray tracing, <v Speaker 3>it will be much much better at performing. The PS <v Speaker 3>six handheld goes along with you know, a standard PS <v Speaker 3>six and maybe a PS six S, a less powerful <v Speaker 3>PS six as well. All those things have been in <v Speaker 3>various form of forms of reports about the next generation <v Speaker 3>from Sony. But hearing like a general profile of how <v Speaker 3>powerful this thing will be, does that get you guys <v Speaker 3>more excited? Prepare you more for a much higher price. <v Speaker 3>I want a hand out PlayStation six for sure, Like <v Speaker 3>that would be the most exciting for me. But it <v Speaker 3>will come down to is this thing eight hundred nine <v Speaker 3>hundred dollars? <v Speaker 1>How expensive is it gonna be? Yeah, there's just so <v Speaker 1>many other questions. Yeah, the idea of having a really <v Speaker 1>powerful PlayStation portable console, that'd be good. I would I <v Speaker 1>would like that. It gets weird because I can know <v Speaker 1>how many pillars of portables are I going to have, <v Speaker 1>and I have the Switch, I need to have my <v Speaker 1>PC portable, and I need to have my by PlayStation <v Speaker 1>portal thing, and all these things are costing seven hundred, <v Speaker 1>eight hundred nine hundred dollars. Now it's like choices are <v Speaker 1>gonna have to start being made. Maybe two out of three, <v Speaker 1>maybe one out of three or none. But BOYD, being <v Speaker 1>a three out of three household, that's gonna be tough. <v Speaker 4>Yeah, agreed. <v Speaker 2>Especially it doesn't help when like every time I see <v Speaker 2>a new friend post about the ayn thor I'm like <v Speaker 2>I should have bought that, I should have grabbed that, <v Speaker 2>and yeah, how I'm feeling the foam o of that. <v Speaker 3>Yep, And the stuff is just gonna keep going up <v Speaker 3>in price, so it's like, yeah, stuff like that, you <v Speaker 3>kind of want to act and then you feel left <v Speaker 3>out and we'll be like, oh, I didn't have to <v Speaker 3>spend that money. I'm glad I saved that money. <v Speaker 1>And then a week later you get the desire again <v Speaker 1>and now it's one hundred dollars more expensive. <v Speaker 3>All right, let's see here. Level five Vision twenty twenty <v Speaker 3>six will be a stream that's happening so soon to <v Speaker 3>show off what Level five the developer is working on. <v Speaker 3>This is happening in April tenth at six am Pacific time. <v Speaker 1>Eight am. <v Speaker 3>That's not I can't be right six am Pacific time. <v Speaker 3>I'll say nine am Eastern. That makes more sense. The stream, <v Speaker 3>which will feature Level five President and CEO Akiro Hino, <v Speaker 3>is expected to provide updates, new trailers, and release state <v Speaker 3>windows for upcoming games like Deca Police and Azuma eleven <v Speaker 3>ri and Professor Layton and The New World of Steam. <v Speaker 3>Professor Layton in the New World of Steam is when <v Speaker 3>I'm looking forward to. That got announced a few years ago. <v Speaker 3>We haven't heard much about it since it does feel <v Speaker 3>like it's time for that. And then Deca Police and <v Speaker 3>that's been in the works for forever. Yeah, I still <v Speaker 3>don't really know what it is. I feel like I <v Speaker 3>heard that name forever ago. Yeah, they've been working on <v Speaker 3>it for a very long time. Uh So it'd be <v Speaker 3>nice to like, oh, these things are real and are <v Speaker 3>coming soon. <v Speaker 1>That would be exciting. <v Speaker 2>But you know, none of this matters because gang the streets. <v Speaker 2>There's heat on the street. It's not just me this time. <v Speaker 2>We're all clamoring for dark Cloud three. Where is dark <v Speaker 2>Cloud three? <v Speaker 4>Many people are asking this? Thank you? <v Speaker 2>Dan? <v Speaker 1>Yeah? Yeah, what's the last time? Level five may one <v Speaker 1>of their like really big RPGs, though, that's something they <v Speaker 1>were able to do a lot in the PS three <v Speaker 1>are Yeah, K two was a PS four game boy <v Speaker 1>that was probably like twenty eighteen though, right that was <v Speaker 1>probably oh god, even quite some time I go. Since then, <v Speaker 1>I think. <v Speaker 3>They made Fantasy Life Eye, which I don't know if <v Speaker 3>that's exactly what Mike is getting at, because that's man, <v Speaker 3>it's it's a big game. <v Speaker 1>It is a big game. Yeah, yeah, is twenty eighteen? <v Speaker 1>How about that? Assistant? What what's this Megaton series? Fancy <v Speaker 1>Life in a zooma? Yeah, you know, they haven't made <v Speaker 1>a big rpg and it's a big fancy that's something, <v Speaker 1>but it's a good game. Yeah, you can't make a <v Speaker 1>dark Cloud three on top of whatever is doing that, right, Yeah. <v Speaker 2>Man shouts with the Jean dark or d arc for <v Speaker 2>the PSP game was an underappreciated banger. <v Speaker 1>I uh, I can't believe. Like the start of level five, <v Speaker 1>they were like dark Cloud dark Cloud two. Uh, then <v Speaker 1>somehow we're making Dragon Quest eight. What how that? Well? <v Speaker 1>Look geezu. He just had an incredible run on the <v Speaker 1>p S. Then they had wrote Galaxy John d Ark <v Speaker 1>and then after that's like Professor Layton. And then when <v Speaker 1>we first saw What Night Chronicles, we all thought that <v Speaker 1>was gonna be a very big deal. That was like here, <v Speaker 1>that was like the one of the early Places three tech. <v Speaker 1>It looked amazing. It turned out to mostly be a bullshit. <v Speaker 1>I also still kind of want to go and play <v Speaker 1>Dark Knight. I mean White Night Chronicles one and two. <v Speaker 1>At some point there's a White Night Chronicles too, with <v Speaker 1>let's do this sixty Metacritic? What what is? <v Speaker 3>They also had the game that was most like the <v Speaker 3>closest to overtaking Pokemon as like the big thing in <v Speaker 3>Japan with Yoki Watch which was massive. It was so <v Speaker 3>huge for like five six, seven years, and then to me, <v Speaker 3>it felt like it fell off the planet. I bet <v Speaker 3>it's still popular. <v Speaker 1>It seems like it kind of like, yeah, that was <v Speaker 1>since COVID, there hasn't been a new Yokai watch. <v Speaker 2>So yeah, let's like, here's the same gang there, here's <v Speaker 2>the thing. It's in the name. Nintendo doesn't want to <v Speaker 2>listen to me. Valve doesn't want to listen to me. <v Speaker 2>There now, Jan, I'm on. <v Speaker 1>The streets and the steps of playing shows. Jan, please <v Speaker 1>give me a goddamn watch. <v Speaker 4>Anyway, get a watch? <v Speaker 1>All right? Uh? <v Speaker 3>The supermar Brothers Movie the Galaxy Movie becomes are the <v Speaker 3>series because the only animated movie series to open globally <v Speaker 3>at more than three hundred and fifty million dollars twice. <v Speaker 3>Both the Super Mario Brothers Movie did it and the <v Speaker 3>Super Mario Galaxy Movie did that as well. This past weekend, <v Speaker 3>the Super Mario Galaxy Movie made three hundred and seventy <v Speaker 3>two point five million dollars globally. That puts it just <v Speaker 3>behind what the Super Mario Brothers Movie did three years <v Speaker 3>ago at three hundred and eighty seven point eight million, <v Speaker 3>So just a touch off there, but that is a <v Speaker 3>ton of money. It is like just unequivocally massively successful. Yeah, <v Speaker 3>this is what everyone involved was hoping for, that they <v Speaker 3>could replicate the success of the first movie again. And <v Speaker 3>it ensures that they will begin reinvesting in this stuff <v Speaker 3>across the board, and you're gonna get a lot more <v Speaker 3>Mario movies obviously, but I like, now it's like, oh, <v Speaker 3>full gear into taking all these properties and making a <v Speaker 3>bunch of other a bunch of other Nintendo related animated stuff, <v Speaker 3>probably at illumination. <v Speaker 2>Mike and Grub, you know, you two have seen the movie. <v Speaker 2>Did it seem like they positioned a character like Fox <v Speaker 2>McLeod in a way that he could successfully have his <v Speaker 2>own spinoff movie just based off of the movie character alone. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, yeah, there's so even with Star Fox popping off <v Speaker 1>like this and being like the movie puts over Starfaux's <v Speaker 1>big right, Yes, so there's gonna be interest. There's probably <v Speaker 1>gonna be a new game. Even then, I'm still like, <v Speaker 1>are they really gonna like make a Star Fox movie? <v Speaker 1>I hope so, might be more likely he shows up <v Speaker 1>his stuff. It's like that Hawke. I think jan he'll <v Speaker 1>show up on our movies. Maybe at one point get <v Speaker 1>a limited run series on something Peacock. I don't know <v Speaker 1>what that is. <v Speaker 2>Is Daredevil the better comparison in terms of like Marveld like. <v Speaker 1>A lot of shows. Maybe maybe, I don't know, we'll see, <v Speaker 1>because he definitely is a highlight of the film, and <v Speaker 1>I am curious where all that goes. I mean, I'm <v Speaker 1>kind of curious what exactly the third one is going <v Speaker 1>to look like now, because they really do hold very <v Speaker 1>little back here. Of course that it's Mario, there is <v Speaker 1>still a ton that they can do, especially now that <v Speaker 1>the far starfox Gate is open. You could just be like, <v Speaker 1>h and Pikachu's in this one. They're also tickets. I <v Speaker 1>don't know. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, the post credits character, which I won't see who <v Speaker 3>it is, but you know, it's very similar to how <v Speaker 3>they do stuff with Sonic, where it's like, Okay, the <v Speaker 3>next movie is gonna be about this character. It's like <v Speaker 3>the first one with Yoshi, and it's like the implication <v Speaker 3>of that character is like, Okay, I bet some other <v Speaker 3>ones that are often related to that character will show up, <v Speaker 3>and it could be the New Threats and stuff like that. <v Speaker 3>So you could see where they go. <v Speaker 1>To just keep this going. <v Speaker 3>It's gonna be the same thing, a lot of references, <v Speaker 3>with just a new set of villains each time, basically, <v Speaker 3>and this time was Bowser Junior will be someone else <v Speaker 3>next time. They could keep that going for a while, <v Speaker 3>but I do I want to see what it looks <v Speaker 3>like when they do begin working on something like maybe <v Speaker 3>a Star Fox. I don't know if that's gonna happen. <v Speaker 3>They're probably gonna try Donkey Kong first, see how that goes, <v Speaker 3>and then take it from there, and if that does well, <v Speaker 3>maybe we do get something involved in a Star Fox. <v Speaker 1>In Peter, I want to see what's the Guardians of <v Speaker 1>the Galaxy moment right where it's a Nintendo franchise that <v Speaker 1>the average person doesn't know about and it's movie was <v Speaker 1>a giant hit. <v Speaker 4>Ye Chris trop. <v Speaker 1>X, I was thinking, actually, all right, label like Polataina <v Speaker 1>a lot, that's for sure. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, let's get these last couple of stories. State of <v Speaker 3>Decays threes twenty twenty announced trailer was just a concept, <v Speaker 3>studio head says, I basically said in twenty twenty when <v Speaker 3>they announced that game, it was just a word document <v Speaker 3>and nothing else, but they had a trailer announced it <v Speaker 3>back in twenty twenty. Now it is the year twenty <v Speaker 3>twenty six, and for the first time, it sounds like <v Speaker 3>the game is going to be playable to people. They're <v Speaker 3>going to show up with a beta or an alpha. <v Speaker 3>I think it's an alpha in May, so people are <v Speaker 3>gonna be able to play this game. State of k three, <v Speaker 3>Wake up your brat shoemakers, tell them it's time to <v Speaker 3>go back to State of Decay. So the game's real. Surprisingly, <v Speaker 3>it's not one of those ones that got caught up <v Speaker 3>in the Microsoft calling, so they'll actually release that game. <v Speaker 3>I'm a little surprised that it made it through, but <v Speaker 3>I'm glad it did. <v Speaker 1>I have a soft spot for State of Decay. It's <v Speaker 1>a systems based game, and I like those. <v Speaker 2>I didn't realize how strong of an audience that this <v Speaker 2>game has. <v Speaker 5>People that are into it are extremely into it. Mike <v Speaker 5>Maharty is one of them, and it is a very <v Speaker 5>unique game. Yeah, player co op, that is the type <v Speaker 5>of thing it would be fun to kind of mess <v Speaker 5>around with. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, I would try. I don't think i've played a <v Speaker 1>second of a State of Decay before, so yeah, I <v Speaker 1>guess I should try one on. <v Speaker 3>It's very much about like emergent storytelling, getting these characters. <v Speaker 3>They have their own background, and then that makes them <v Speaker 3>behave in a certain way, and you try to get <v Speaker 3>them to do things and you're like, oh, I didn't <v Speaker 3>account for the fact that he's actually a dick and <v Speaker 3>I shouldn't have done that, and then you kind of <v Speaker 3>tell these stories and I like that concept. I just <v Speaker 3>have never been able to fully click with one yet. <v Speaker 5>It's immerging stuff in the systems that does it for me, <v Speaker 5>where it's you know, normally I'm not big into zombie stuff, <v Speaker 5>but this one has its own hook that like got <v Speaker 5>me to look past that and really enjoy it. <v Speaker 2>I have a small specific friend group that is very <v Speaker 2>much into this kind of like post apocalyptic zombie world. <v Speaker 2>This Day's gone. Any of the Walking Dead games will <v Speaker 2>appeal to them because it's like, yeah, I'm a tough guy, <v Speaker 2>I could survive the zombie apocalypse. <v Speaker 3>I think that this is still somehow appealing to those <v Speaker 3>people while being kind of its own thing that people <v Speaker 3>who just are there for systems can show up for. <v Speaker 3>So yeah, I'm also not super into zombies, so it's <v Speaker 3>like I think it's one of the things to push <v Speaker 3>me away it's like, I like this idea, maybe in <v Speaker 3>a different way, but you can see why the apocalypse <v Speaker 3>works so well. <v Speaker 2>For It's funny because that same group of friends isn't <v Speaker 2>into anything like Dead Rising at all. Like Dead Rising <v Speaker 2>is like too goofy. <v Speaker 1>The zombies shouldn't be laughed at. It's sad. Yeah, they <v Speaker 1>used to have brains. I don't know if they think <v Speaker 1>it's sad, but they think it's serious. It's time to <v Speaker 1>take these zombies seriously. <v Speaker 3>Inside, speaking of taking people seriously, the Mass Effect TV <v Speaker 3>show will reportedly be rewritten to appeal to quote non gamers. <v Speaker 1>Report. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, I don't know, report claims Amazon's head of Global <v Speaker 3>TV Peter Friedlander, who has now become the last word <v Speaker 3>at Amazon by looking at scripts and be like I <v Speaker 3>approve or I don't approve. He didn't approve of the <v Speaker 3>Mass Effects scripts, which is going to start filming soon. <v Speaker 3>It's like very close to switching over to production. Good, <v Speaker 3>but they don't have the scripts ready. Yeah yeah, he <v Speaker 3>said no, go back and do him make it appeal <v Speaker 3>to non gamers. And I still don't really know what <v Speaker 3>that means. I've seen people like hypothesize that, oh, they <v Speaker 3>made it to appeal to fans of Mass Effect, and <v Speaker 3>if you're not a fan of Mass Effect, you won't <v Speaker 3>recognize this character. And it's too inside for people who <v Speaker 3>already are familiar with all of the lore. It's like, well, <v Speaker 3>that that would be I think that would be dumb <v Speaker 3>if that's the way they were doing things. But that's <v Speaker 3>not what it says. It says non gamers, not non <v Speaker 3>Mass Effect fans. <v Speaker 1>Right, because like obviously, you know, like Fallout and The <v Speaker 1>Last of Us the reason why they were big successful <v Speaker 1>TV shows because they did attract an audience outside of <v Speaker 1>just that core fans those video games. But they it <v Speaker 1>seems like they did that by just being really good <v Speaker 1>adaptations of the video game thing and making feel right, <v Speaker 1>making those people happy, and then it's just so good <v Speaker 1>and well done that other people discover it. Uh, because <v Speaker 1>you know, if you go the other way, they end <v Speaker 1>up with a Halo thing where we're gonna appeal to <v Speaker 1>the normans and make we're gonna we know how to <v Speaker 1>make this work interesting and cinematics. Yeah, you know, well, <v Speaker 1>you can't just have a character who doesn't show his <v Speaker 1>face a bunch of times, like come on, then you <v Speaker 1>really lose that core audience. It's concerning here because Pas <v Speaker 1>Effect has very dedicated fans and if they if they <v Speaker 1>turn on this thing, there's no hope. You have to <v Speaker 1>have them on board with this. <v Speaker 2>Do you think they the original script may have been <v Speaker 2>to science and sci fi heavy that they thought it <v Speaker 2>may not be unpalatable to the more possible to like it. <v Speaker 1>Could be there, but you know, it could just be like, <v Speaker 1>what's a Garris? That's stupid and alien? Right, Like, I <v Speaker 1>don't know, we just don't know what the issue. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, there's this strong possibility that this Mass Effect show <v Speaker 2>will not have that many aliens in it. <v Speaker 1>I mean, that's that was part of what was so <v Speaker 1>cool about Mass Effect when I first played it. It's like, <v Speaker 1>you know, well, with a Star Trek, a lot of <v Speaker 1>the aliens is have to be people with the forehead <v Speaker 1>ridge because it's TV and it's cheap. On a video game, <v Speaker 1>you don't have to do that, And some of the <v Speaker 1>aliens will look a bit more humanoid than others. But <v Speaker 1>you couldn't really get a Rex in a TV show <v Speaker 1>with decent visual effects. And now that we're still here, <v Speaker 1>we're going to make the show. I'm still kind of like, <v Speaker 1>how are you gonna do that? How are you gonna <v Speaker 1>make Garrison Rex look right? <v Speaker 3>And that's the other thing is that's described as a <v Speaker 3>premium genre drama, like our pricey excusing pricey drama. So <v Speaker 3>they're gonna spend a lot of money on this thing. <v Speaker 3>And Amazon has spent like a billion dollars on their <v Speaker 3>Lord of the Rings show and all this other stuff. <v Speaker 3>And apparently it's important to Bezos to have these big <v Speaker 3>premium shows, so they're probably going to spend a lot <v Speaker 3>of money on this thing. <v Speaker 1>Hopefully that goes a long way. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, unless, like the original script was just very poorly written, <v Speaker 2>this this bode super well. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, I don't know. I don't think that. It just <v Speaker 1>needs to be appealing to people who like good shows. <v Speaker 1>I think that's what they should do. <v Speaker 3>And yeah that being honest to the games, sure they should. <v Speaker 1>They can't fumble this one. This is kind of like <v Speaker 1>one of the remaining big golden gooses in terms of <v Speaker 1>a video game property that could be a TV show. <v Speaker 1>This is the one everybody wants. You could see how <v Speaker 1>it could work, but it could just as easily not work. <v Speaker 5>I don't know what about all the like you know, <v Speaker 5>twenty times they've super duper confirmed of the middle year. <v Speaker 5>Solid movie is in the works and they've green lit <v Speaker 5>a script, and you jack Man and Oscar, it's in <v Speaker 5>the works. It's basically in production. Yeah for it every <v Speaker 5>fucking time. The Biostuch movie is right behind it. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, oh my yeah, I mean, you know, uh, a <v Speaker 2>successful or I haven't seen it myself, but the Exit <v Speaker 2>eight movie was apparently really well received based off it, <v Speaker 2>like the behindest. <v Speaker 3>Rated video game movie of all time or something like that. <v Speaker 1>Yeah. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, So I don't know, maybe you lean into the <v Speaker 2>zaniness of the property you're adapting. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, definitely. <v Speaker 3>I think they they're learning the wrong lessons if they're <v Speaker 3>running away from the video game stuff by being like, oh, <v Speaker 3>any sort of reference to a video game camp be <v Speaker 3>in here, because yeah, Fallout very much worked on that level, <v Speaker 3>and it went a long way to making people more <v Speaker 3>excited about the actual TV show. All right, that does <v Speaker 3>it for the headlines, jan I'm handing this show back <v Speaker 3>over to you. <v Speaker 4>Folks. <v Speaker 2>Were gonna take a quick bricky break and be back <v Speaker 2>with the emails and super chets if we got any <v Speaker 2>right after this. <v Speaker 4>The emails. <v Speaker 2>Emails pomcast giant bomb dot com is the email address <v Speaker 2>to send your emails to right in about any and everything. <v Speaker 2>We've been getting inundated with Hella emails. I specifically made <v Speaker 2>a note to myself to mention it here. We've gotten <v Speaker 2>some weird emails. Good hell, yea good. I love that <v Speaker 2>some of them make it onto the show, some of <v Speaker 2>them don't. I still appreciate you sending your emails too. <v Speaker 2>And hey, you know, for anyone going through a rough time, <v Speaker 2>we assure you that we overhear at gb HQ or <v Speaker 2>here for you to make sure that we help you <v Speaker 2>get through the day. First email comes from Paul. This morning, <v Speaker 2>I got an email from Mike Minatti with a code <v Speaker 2>for being a Premium member parentheses thanks, and it felt <v Speaker 2>excited that my friend was writing to me. I've never <v Speaker 2>met any of you and live on the other side <v Speaker 2>of the world Australia. When was the last time you <v Speaker 2>got excited about a message from a friend who doesn't <v Speaker 2>know you exist? <v Speaker 1>Paul, boy boy, that's pretty specific. Yeah, friends exist. What <v Speaker 1>I've got it, but you don't know they exist, but <v Speaker 1>they got it, but they messaged you. And that's a <v Speaker 1>pretty art combo. <v Speaker 4>I think you exist is the way you. <v Speaker 1>Say yeah, that might be a super special fun feeling <v Speaker 1>that just you experienced there. But you know, I'm happy <v Speaker 1>for you for it. I guess what, I know you <v Speaker 1>exist now, so it will never happen again. Wow, folks <v Speaker 1>and chatter Kenny g. Yeah, absolutely, that's a good one. True. Actually, <v Speaker 1>never mind, you're not special. <v Speaker 5>Logan Roy for me, Yeah right yeah yeah, Ran Cox, Yeah, <v Speaker 5>Bryan Cox. <v Speaker 2>I can't think of one specifically, Yeah, neither. I mean <v Speaker 2>maybe learning that like a celebrity listens or listen to <v Speaker 2>any of the podcasts at one point that that always <v Speaker 2>gets me going find out that like John super iye, <v Speaker 2>Patch Wolf is a fan and h Bomber Guy is <v Speaker 2>a fan, I'm like, oh, oh, shure, I got a <v Speaker 2>tiny the ship a bit. <v Speaker 3>Yeah right, Like definitely like meeting some people at at <v Speaker 3>like packs where it's like, oh yeah, that's just Dan <v Speaker 3>Olson and yeah that's cool to see him. He has <v Speaker 3>no idea I exist for sure. <v Speaker 5>I thought it was funny the time Jose and Seko <v Speaker 5>thought I was dead. I just posted the tweet and <v Speaker 5>the Chad Jose and Siko somehow thought I died and <v Speaker 5>tweeted a rest in peace to me and tagged me. <v Speaker 1>If he does still live. <v Speaker 3>The day that it comes that you do die, I'm <v Speaker 3>going to make sure he's the one that announces. <v Speaker 5>Please do so. Oh No, I'm sorry, he tag me. <v Speaker 5>He says, I'm sorry to hear Dan is dead. I <v Speaker 5>didn't know a good strange little man. Rest in peace, buddy, <v Speaker 5>hug for you. <v Speaker 2>Just miss a good strange little man is incredible memoir. <v Speaker 2>Yeah all right, Rob writes in Hey Bombarados, I'm visiting <v Speaker 2>Chicago for a week later this year and want to <v Speaker 2>soak in some food options that are part of the <v Speaker 2>Giant Bomb lore. I live in Denmark, where restaurants are <v Speaker 2>annoyingly classy, so I want to get into the grease zone. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, just don't go to a Portillo's or else. You're <v Speaker 1>a filthy kind of funny fan instat exactly. <v Speaker 2>Don't be a best friend, be. <v Speaker 3>A worst friend, exactly, Giant Bomb worst friend. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, welcome. <v Speaker 4>Uh, clearly I was gonna say no. <v Speaker 5>Let's new sworn enemies, Giant Bomb sworn enemy. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, clearly, I will order a Jet's pizza on day one. <v Speaker 2>But what other Giant Bomb canonical restaurant should I try? <v Speaker 2>To give me some good old Americana red Lobster Cheesecake Factory, <v Speaker 2>give me your go to top five thanks and love <v Speaker 2>everything you do. Launch look for life. <v Speaker 4>Ron, I mean giant bomb cannon. <v Speaker 5>There was that entire the packs that I spent the <v Speaker 5>entire time at the Buffalo Wild Wings, to the point <v Speaker 5>where they gave me the like manager jersey and a <v Speaker 5>name tag and I had control of the remote control <v Speaker 5>in the restaurant. I still have the jersey. Actually that <v Speaker 5>was my referee. <v Speaker 1>Yeah. <v Speaker 4>So yeah, yeah Buffalo Wings. <v Speaker 2>Those are going away. So if you can find one, <v Speaker 2>we go to one. I guess Yeah, I'm not doing <v Speaker 2>too well, really great. <v Speaker 4>Yeah, talk about. <v Speaker 1>Let's I mean cheese factory. You kind of have to <v Speaker 1>see it to believe it. I think actually that one <v Speaker 1>I maybe would try to do. There's a Margaritaville in Chicago. <v Speaker 4>Margaritaville. <v Speaker 2>That's a good shout, yeah, specifically for this iteration of GB. <v Speaker 1>Right, but if you're in Chicago, you should get some <v Speaker 1>actual Chicago pizza. If you go to the Torsi one <v Speaker 1>like Gidono's or is good. <v Speaker 3>Is fantastic, It's it's worth having Gio O'dono's. If you're <v Speaker 3>a tourist, actually do that. <v Speaker 1>You will find it incredibly American. <v Speaker 5>Yeah, I find it obnoxious when people turn their nose <v Speaker 5>down as something that's like is good pizza. <v Speaker 4>Yes, it's tourist stuff, but it's like a good deep <v Speaker 4>dish pizza. It's a change whatever, Get over it. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, if you're tourist and be excited about being a tourist, <v Speaker 3>there's a reason that stuff is the tour Usually. <v Speaker 1>Chat really wants you to go to a rainforest. I <v Speaker 1>have to let you know it's pretty. I cannot just <v Speaker 1>I won't tell you what you gotta do there, but <v Speaker 1>want to tell you. <v Speaker 5>Do you think anyone ever has been inspired by that <v Speaker 5>story and did that at a rainforest cafe? <v Speaker 1>I do not tell you what if you have, don't <v Speaker 1>tell me, don't tell us. <v Speaker 3>But no one's ever done. <v Speaker 4>That weird email right now? <v Speaker 1>That would be too weird for email. Yeah, that's actually <v Speaker 1>too much, guys. <v Speaker 2>I already go through so much like psychic damage listening <v Speaker 2>to all of the voicemails every week. <v Speaker 1>Do not do this to me with I thought you <v Speaker 1>were listening to us. <v Speaker 4>No, no, I'm part of this mess. <v Speaker 2>Also, you have to go to a gas station and <v Speaker 2>get hot dogs and gets go to a quick trip <v Speaker 2>roller teketos, they're great Taco bell I think Dan, you mentioned. <v Speaker 1>Go to an harp you's seeing harpy, get like one <v Speaker 1>beef and cheddar, right that? <v Speaker 2>Or just go inside and just like you know, like <v Speaker 2>rub the counter and like bless up to it. <v Speaker 1>You know, yeah? <v Speaker 2>Right, he was here? Yeah, all right, yes, yes? What <v Speaker 2>is the food that Backlar likes? That he can also <v Speaker 2>he does? <v Speaker 1>Does he like food? <v Speaker 4>I don't know if he likes food anymore? <v Speaker 1>He likes he likes chicken farm when he thinks of chicken. <v Speaker 4>Yeah. <v Speaker 2>That man loves a dirty martini. Oh sure, go get <v Speaker 2>a dirty martini in his honor, extra olives please, all right. <v Speaker 2>Travison Fargo writes in with five questions every week, I <v Speaker 2>choose one of them. I chose the fifth one this week. <v Speaker 2>What skill do you naturally lack but have worked the <v Speaker 2>most to improve? <v Speaker 1>Uh? I used to be almost cripplingly shy. Actually didn't <v Speaker 1>really get over that until almost after college. Really even <v Speaker 1>even during college, I wasn't, you know, doing anything too <v Speaker 1>crazy there. So yeah, just like actually going out learning <v Speaker 1>to be comfortable being around people and being myself and <v Speaker 1>developing social skills things like that, you know that stuff, <v Speaker 1>doesn't always come naturally necessarily, but you kind of just <v Speaker 1>work on it. And you saw it was like one <v Speaker 1>eating your front of the mirror, being like, how are <v Speaker 1>you no? Not that all my knees right? You just <v Speaker 1>go out there and you talk to people, you hang <v Speaker 1>out with people, and you just devote that stuff. <v Speaker 4>Yeah, same with me. <v Speaker 5>I was superoper shy and it was college that did <v Speaker 5>it for me, and more importantly alcohol that that helped <v Speaker 5>en running is when I was just not I told <v Speaker 5>the story recently about like having to call the mile <v Speaker 5>in gym class because I was the one that was taken. <v Speaker 5>We'll just put down fifteen minutes and like fast forward <v Speaker 5>to like the half marathon training and stuff, and that's <v Speaker 5>not something that came naturally at all, and I just <v Speaker 5>had to learn and learn through mistakes and injuries and <v Speaker 5>stuff like that, which I'm still kind of working on. <v Speaker 4>So but yeah, this year's going good. <v Speaker 1>Yeah. <v Speaker 3>It's like just being willing to not bother people, but <v Speaker 3>feel like I'm not bothering people by by asking them <v Speaker 3>for something or getting their attention or something like that. <v Speaker 3>It's like always like ah, there's no way they're gonna <v Speaker 3>want to put up with me. And I just have <v Speaker 3>to like get over that realize most people do not care. <v Speaker 3>I just gotta recognize that even my time is valuable, <v Speaker 3>so as theirs. But I can bring value to them <v Speaker 3>if I'm bothering them. <v Speaker 2>Even I haven't necessarily improved on this skill at all. <v Speaker 2>But on the Filipino skill tree, there's two semi specific <v Speaker 2>things that I'm lacking in. One of them basketball prowess, <v Speaker 2>terrible for it. Uh. The second one exactly that grub singing. <v Speaker 2>It's an Olympic sport in the Philippines. And I unfortunately <v Speaker 2>my parents didn't spec in that skill tree. Instead, they <v Speaker 2>give me Catholic guilt, okay, extra sure, yeah, yeah yeah. <v Speaker 2>They were like, you know what, he needs a plus <v Speaker 2>four in this. And I've tried so hard to sing, well, <v Speaker 2>got so far. And you know, I've been told maybe <v Speaker 2>my ceiling or maybe my bottom my floor is someone's ceiling. <v Speaker 2>But gang, I just I'm gonna let y'all know, the <v Speaker 2>second I can start to sing very well, I'm going <v Speaker 2>to be so fucking insufferable. <v Speaker 1>All right, that'd be fun. It's gonna be built in. <v Speaker 1>Never do that, no, never, never come on, all right. <v Speaker 2>Last email of the show and we do get a <v Speaker 2>lot of these everyone, so I'm doing my best to <v Speaker 2>sort through them, read most of them. I'll try and <v Speaker 2>forward some of them if you have kind words to <v Speaker 2>say for a specific member of the crew. There's a <v Speaker 2>couple that actually pertain to mister Backlar, but he's not <v Speaker 2>here today. Last email the show comes from Mark from Perth. Hello, <v Speaker 2>GB parentheses, gorgeous boss, got a question for the BombCast. <v Speaker 2>I'm moving from my hometown of Perth, Western Australia to London, <v Speaker 2>UK at the end of April. My partners always wanted <v Speaker 2>to live there at twenty seven, we felt that now <v Speaker 2>was a good time to give it a go. I'm <v Speaker 2>going to be keeping my current video editing job and <v Speaker 2>working remotely, and we've already found a place to live. <v Speaker 2>That said, I'm a bit nervous about the loneliness and <v Speaker 2>isolation of being in a whole new country, especially when <v Speaker 2>I won't necessarily have a place to go and meet people. Though, <v Speaker 2>besides the obvious stuff, do you guys have any nuggets <v Speaker 2>of wisdom for a first time mover. <v Speaker 5>I mean, it's just that, you know, you just got <v Speaker 5>to jump in the water thing. I mean, I've done it, <v Speaker 5>so many times across the country and every time. You know, <v Speaker 5>I wouldn't take any of them back, no regrets, and like, <v Speaker 5>and you can also leave if a place doesn't click <v Speaker 5>with you, like I. I've liked every place I've lived <v Speaker 5>except for San Francisco, and that's why I got the <v Speaker 5>fuck out of there after two years. So like, you know, <v Speaker 5>if you go to London, it's not for you, go <v Speaker 5>somewhere else, but give it a shot, give it not <v Speaker 5>a try. You know, you'll probably find things to love, <v Speaker 5>you'll find things to miss about home, but uh, you know, <v Speaker 5>hopefully you're in a position where you can travel, like <v Speaker 5>I always go back to Kansas, New York, the place <v Speaker 5>I've lived that I enjoyed. But yeah, nothing's permanent, It's true. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, I think it's right. Just start just start doing stuff. <v Speaker 3>Get up, like get on the Facebook communities, the reddits <v Speaker 3>that are for your neighborhood and stuff like that. Just <v Speaker 3>see what people are saying and become a part of <v Speaker 3>the community. And then if that if it's not your vibe, <v Speaker 3>at that point, you know you tried it. You did <v Speaker 3>some cool stuff. You will almost certainly probably make friends <v Speaker 3>and have cool experiences, and that's all part of it, <v Speaker 3>So yeah, go for it. <v Speaker 2>A difficult thing because you will be continuing to work remotely, <v Speaker 2>is just finding the motivation to go outside. And I'm <v Speaker 2>a big advocate for clock the fuck out at some <v Speaker 2>point during the day. Like Grub said, go find some <v Speaker 2>type of community, and that could be even in a <v Speaker 2>coffee shop, that could be in a local dive bar, <v Speaker 2>a local sporting stuff. <v Speaker 3>I'm sure local gang of vagrant cats exactly run in <v Speaker 3>the street with them. <v Speaker 4>Yeah. <v Speaker 2>Actually, volunteering is also a major thing. So you know, <v Speaker 2>if you are a cat person, a dog person, maybe <v Speaker 2>go volunteer on the weekends at a shelter that could <v Speaker 2>help out and help you introduce you to other folks <v Speaker 2>that you may mesh and vibe with. <v Speaker 5>And you're going to London, There's gonna be plenty of <v Speaker 5>resources and shit to do out there. It's like, yeah, <v Speaker 5>it's not like when I moved to like Danbury, Connecticut. <v Speaker 4>That can be a little tricky. <v Speaker 5>Because like even someone as social and outgoing as me <v Speaker 5>and everything, it's like I'm in Danbury, Connecticut. I looked, <v Speaker 5>I tried, there was not a lot to do. But London, <v Speaker 5>London is gonna be great for that. <v Speaker 4>Yeah. <v Speaker 2>I mean also two very great suggestions here. I mean, <v Speaker 2>if you like you're into games, you know you email <v Speaker 2>this podcast. If you're into tabletop stuff, I'm sure there's <v Speaker 2>like a board game shop out there that you can <v Speaker 2>meet people, maybe play magic if you're into magic or <v Speaker 2>other table stop table pop stuff with And I love <v Speaker 2>will suggestion join an improv class. <v Speaker 4>I have a dead set. <v Speaker 2>I think everyone, no matter what your career aspirations are, should, <v Speaker 2>at some point in their life, take it acting class <v Speaker 2>or improv class because it just gets you out of <v Speaker 2>your shell and you know you're moving there with a partner. <v Speaker 2>But then you'll wind up befritting a bunch of people <v Speaker 2>that just want to bang each other, and that's just <v Speaker 2>fun to witness. <v Speaker 1>That is great one. <v Speaker 3>That's that's what it's all about. <v Speaker 4>Yeah. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, before we get to YouTube super chats, we were <v Speaker 2>this is the third time we've had this segment pop up. <v Speaker 1>Jeff Grub, I want to guess that ad. That's right, everybody, <v Speaker 1>We're gonna do the game show within a podcast. Guess <v Speaker 1>that ad. <v Speaker 3>It's Jeff Grubb's most famous game show where I show <v Speaker 3>you an image from a magazine ad from the past. <v Speaker 3>You tell me what the game is. I have to <v Speaker 3>this time in case this goes by pretty fast, because <v Speaker 3>there's a chance you guys just get it right away off. Yes, yeah, <v Speaker 3>turn chat off. I am putting it in our chat here, <v Speaker 3>but you guys can also see. <v Speaker 1>It on the string. Fuck. <v Speaker 3>Okay, So I'm gonna describe it real quick for the <v Speaker 3>audio listeners. Right now, I'm just showing a very small <v Speaker 3>segment of the ad. It is a bubble that has <v Speaker 3>someone saying blow me exclamation point. <v Speaker 1>And that's all I have so far. <v Speaker 4>Is it a Kirby? <v Speaker 3>This is not a Kirby? <v Speaker 1>All right? For some reason, the image is failing a <v Speaker 1>load for me. <v Speaker 4>Is it tied to the ne s I don't think so. <v Speaker 4>I don't think. <v Speaker 3>I'm gonna say no blow. <v Speaker 1>Is it a bust to move? Just based off your description, <v Speaker 1>it is not bust to move. <v Speaker 4>It's a bubble bow bobble thing bubble. <v Speaker 3>It is not bubble bobble. <v Speaker 5>I'm guessing this ads between nineteen ninety five and two thousand. <v Speaker 1>Let me look at the corner. It's uh, yes, that <v Speaker 1>was yeah. <v Speaker 4>You're right, that's right, peak blow me suck it era, yes. <v Speaker 1>Well, yeah, it keeps it blowing, blow blow. I'm trying <v Speaker 1>to think if it's a DS game that you've blow <v Speaker 1>into the mic. <v Speaker 4>No, not, if it's ninety five to two thousand. <v Speaker 1>That's right, you're right. <v Speaker 4>I'm laying in sixty four in. <v Speaker 3>April nineteen ninety seven. There you go, guys. <v Speaker 4>April ninety seven. <v Speaker 3>Comes from an issue of Ultra Gameplay. <v Speaker 1>Fuck. <v Speaker 4>Okay, that's PS one. <v Speaker 5>That could be sixty four Saturn possibly so definitely that <v Speaker 5>thirty two to sixty sixty four era. <v Speaker 4>It's not Bubble. <v Speaker 1>Boy boy. I thought goddamn puzzle Babble was my best bet. <v Speaker 1>I'm gonna get to that. I think we'll still still <v Speaker 1>do the second one. I think the second will actually <v Speaker 1>be easier. So I'm getting a picture of that right <v Speaker 1>now for you guys, and I'll put that in there <v Speaker 1>in a second. <v Speaker 3>All right, So let me see here. You guys have <v Speaker 3>guessed a bunch of stuff. <v Speaker 1>Yeah against the platform. Uh yeah, let me see. <v Speaker 3>Let me doubly hang, double check, make sure I say <v Speaker 3>the right platform. <v Speaker 4>Balloons. <v Speaker 1>Uh. <v Speaker 3>This actually is a Windows version, but the series is <v Speaker 3>on a lot The series is on a lot of platforms. <v Speaker 1>Okay, a Windows release, dex No, it doesn't blow anything. <v Speaker 3>It isn't This is not gex just thinking about vibes. <v Speaker 1>All right, I'm lets you want to get this other <v Speaker 1>one here? Oh so it's confusing. Blow me trying trying <v Speaker 1>to like. <v Speaker 6>Balloon all right for a candle see here for you guys, <v Speaker 6>and I'll put this in the thing a second. <v Speaker 3>Here is a second thought or text bubble. It says <v Speaker 3>your toast this time. The color of that background on <v Speaker 3>that text bubble is green. <v Speaker 4>Balls three D. <v Speaker 3>This is not balls three D? <v Speaker 5>Is there a character that's there's that candle? Guy, I'm <v Speaker 5>beating the bee, so they're beating the He wouldn't. <v Speaker 2>Say blow not with this funt either. <v Speaker 4>No, your toast? <v Speaker 5>Like what is going on with the someone on fire? <v Speaker 5>There's a there's a fire, there's a breath. There's an <v Speaker 5>air thing going on here? <v Speaker 1>Wait is it a clay fighter? <v Speaker 3>I was it is not clicking. <v Speaker 5>I was thinking that because there is that ad where <v Speaker 5>me and mister Frost he's blown out the mortal combat candles. <v Speaker 4>That's why I was. <v Speaker 1>Thinking, wait, wait, wait, okay, now it's not booger Man. <v Speaker 5>Not booger Man, A flick adventure, not a blow and suck. <v Speaker 3>Is this you're overthinking it early for. <v Speaker 4>Twisted Metal, I'm I don't remember the time. <v Speaker 3>Just Metal one was like ninety five. This is not <v Speaker 3>Twisted Metal. It is a multiplayer game Mario Party. <v Speaker 1>It is not Window Windows version multiplayer online. <v Speaker 3>It might have online, but this would have been pretty <v Speaker 3>early for that. That would not have been the focus. <v Speaker 3>Is it's certainly a. <v Speaker 1>Couch co op game. <v Speaker 3>No, no couch multiplayer. <v Speaker 4>Is it a worms? <v Speaker 3>It is not Worms. <v Speaker 2>Bomber Man, even though none of these deal with bombs. <v Speaker 3>It is bomber Man. He did everybody, it's Atomic bomber Man. <v Speaker 1>Yeah. Man, I had a Tommy bar Man the PC <v Speaker 1>should I said, know this. <v Speaker 3>That game was good. <v Speaker 1>Made it? <v Speaker 3>Yeah, Atomic bottom bomber Man. I think it's the PC <v Speaker 3>port for like Saturn. Bomber Man is how I understood <v Speaker 3>it to be. Okay, let me see here, man. Okay, <v Speaker 3>so I got a picture. <v Speaker 1>You thought we were gonna get that from this blow <v Speaker 1>me bubble? I got it. <v Speaker 2>There. <v Speaker 1>You did anyone and checked in it. I bet they <v Speaker 1>got it right away. You said we needed a backup <v Speaker 1>because it might be too easy. Listen a character just <v Speaker 1>saying blow me just sound yeah, blowing up. <v Speaker 4>I just figured, okay, got it. <v Speaker 3>Hang on, let me post this one on here to our. <v Speaker 1>I'm gonna have to post in content planning. It's on <v Speaker 1>my phone real quick. They'd get it. Man. Now I'm <v Speaker 1>the nostalgic for atomic bomber Man holy ship. <v Speaker 3>All right, let me describe the second one real quick <v Speaker 3>while I post this to you guys, I'll send the <v Speaker 3>image to you a second. <v Speaker 1>I'll discover. <v Speaker 3>It is. It's kind of horrifying. It is a bunch <v Speaker 3>of skin and there are several mouths with different colored <v Speaker 3>tongues sticking out color. It is the game Boy pocket pocket. Yes, <v Speaker 3>but very close. Yes, game Boy pot. <v Speaker 4>Before you even posted the image to us, Yes, before I. <v Speaker 1>Posted the image. Jesus Christ, that's terrifying. Yes, the pocket. <v Speaker 1>There you go. All right, Well, DoD that that was <v Speaker 1>guess that game ad or whatever we call it. Thanks <v Speaker 1>for playing, everybody, Yes, sir, I believe grubs Marriott. Thank <v Speaker 1>you for playing grub Gaster. We'll be back with a <v Speaker 1>new one next time. Back to you, Jan fantastic. <v Speaker 2>We're gonna go play a quick game of hot Potato <v Speaker 2>because I'm gonna pass us back over to Mike MINAUGHTI <v Speaker 2>to hit me with some YouTube super chats if we <v Speaker 2>have any. <v Speaker 1>We do, and I'm gonna load him up right after <v Speaker 1>I log back into YouTube because I accidentally signed out. <v Speaker 1>Oh gosh, I gotta get a verification code. Text it <v Speaker 1>to me so I can log back in. This is fantastic. <v Speaker 1>Hold all right, come on, let's yeah you do well, Okay, <v Speaker 1>do it, but be prepared. I was gonna ask you, guys, <v Speaker 1>how do we feel about people who use our super <v Speaker 1>chat thing for self promotion? <v Speaker 3>That's uh, well, you could do it this time, but <v Speaker 3>this is the last time. <v Speaker 1>How about that? <v Speaker 4>Sure? <v Speaker 1>Yeah, Mic, that sounds fair. Yes, cute, cute you found <v Speaker 1>you found a loophole there, but we will not allow again. <v Speaker 1>Go ahead, Jeff. <v Speaker 3>Sign it from Saskatchewan. There's got to be a Blake <v Speaker 3>club worthy game that Jeff has to play that with <v Speaker 3>that light gun of his right by you, Billy has <v Speaker 3>sections box artists and credible. <v Speaker 1>I haven't set up I can do that, geez I did. <v Speaker 3>Gosh. <v Speaker 1>I was at some point watching somebody play something they <v Speaker 1>described as the worst like gun game ever. <v Speaker 4>Bad because yeah, yeah, I will say that. <v Speaker 2>It sounds like it was very unpleasant for will to <v Speaker 2>watch along because of all like the light gun flashing <v Speaker 2>that happens. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, yeah, there I could there's a solution for that. <v Speaker 3>When you guys were watching as long, I could send <v Speaker 3>you the obs feed that is going to take out <v Speaker 3>a lot of that flashing. So pretty pretty good tech there. <v Speaker 3>Uh zombie pooring, oh no evil? Jan killed business, Dracula jerf. <v Speaker 4>What can I say? You know? <v Speaker 3>And you As the podcast goes further along, Jane, You're <v Speaker 3>looking cooler and cooler and moo baby, he almost certainly <v Speaker 3>isn't wearing pants right now. <v Speaker 1>Guys, I'm so worried. I'm not happy. <v Speaker 3>Martin Hollis Grub said games will never get prettier than <v Speaker 3>Doom twenty sixteen. I didn't say that, so they just <v Speaker 3>don't need to get prettier. Another podcast said design won't <v Speaker 3>surpass Witcher three. What do you see as being the <v Speaker 3>next jump? <v Speaker 4>We're going back to light guns. <v Speaker 1>Light guns are back, Okay, Connects back, I mean they're better. Look, <v Speaker 1>I know I'm not gonna really probably be that into it, <v Speaker 1>but there better be something about Grand Theft Autos six <v Speaker 1>that's impressive. Yeah. <v Speaker 3>I want improvement to the intelligence of enemy characters and <v Speaker 3>characters you interact with. <v Speaker 1>And I don't. <v Speaker 3>I know they're all gonna be like a I now, <v Speaker 3>but I just I like the idea of the stuff <v Speaker 3>being programmed and having emergent stuff that happened from a <v Speaker 3>human programmed algorithm or something like that. I want improvements <v Speaker 3>to just logic and things to happen because I interacted <v Speaker 3>with the character and they went to go do something <v Speaker 3>and had ramification. <v Speaker 2>I forgot to talk about this during the game segment <v Speaker 2>I checked out in Marathon. I'm trying to do the <v Speaker 2>whole Rook thing. <v Speaker 4>Yo. That game as so much fucking swag. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, we maybe need to at least stream it one <v Speaker 2>more time on this I would. <v Speaker 1>Do that definitely, because booms. <v Speaker 5>Anyway, all right, I saw how Grubb to your point <v Speaker 5>to how impressed I was in Medal of Honor for <v Speaker 5>PlayStation one that you throw a grenade and some of <v Speaker 5>the enemies would take off their helmet and like jump on. <v Speaker 4>It's like, oh my god, Y's crazy, and I just. <v Speaker 3>And I just want that stuff, Tom, Like, Okay, can <v Speaker 3>we extrapolate on that with these more powerful CPUs that <v Speaker 3>can do all of this reasoning? Hopefully? <v Speaker 1>Yes, that would be great? All right? <v Speaker 3>From Big Fresh thirty seven, Dan now that you don't <v Speaker 3>hate Pokemon anymore, what would you ever give give a <v Speaker 3>try to legends z A, it's not turn based. <v Speaker 5>I don't think I ever hated Pokemon, and I just <v Speaker 5>never I would say it was interesting necessarily. <v Speaker 1>I don't know. I don't get anything out of that one. <v Speaker 5>Dan, people were talking with the archaeas. Was that the <v Speaker 5>one that doesnted Archaius? <v Speaker 4>Right? <v Speaker 5>Yeah, people were talking big about that one. This is <v Speaker 5>the breath of the while the Pokemon all right, that's right, <v Speaker 5>and it just did the fucking thing where it's like <v Speaker 5>I felt it was like two hours of me talking <v Speaker 5>to idiots in a town and I didn't do anything. <v Speaker 4>I'm good, I'm good. Yeah, so that's okay. Like things. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, that's never been for him. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, Martin Hollis Stadium yea millions, Yeah for sure. Martin <v Speaker 3>Hollis Is Back says Also, the Mario movie is bad, <v Speaker 3>but my five year old loved it. Yeah, so I <v Speaker 3>definitely had a similar experience. I liked all the huge part. <v Speaker 4>Yeah. <v Speaker 1>It's just like how you know, kids like the menu movies, right? <v Speaker 1>These are these are the movies by the minions people, right, exactly. <v Speaker 3>Flowbotron says, to celebrate the start of asparagus season, thick <v Speaker 3>crust pizza with sliced ham asparagus and sauce holland Days <v Speaker 3>plus cheese tomato bas of course yay or nay. So <v Speaker 3>they laid it out. <v Speaker 1>Thick cross pizza, Hollandaise sauce, which is the cheese tomato <v Speaker 1>bas is what they're saying. I would try it. <v Speaker 3>I would you would try it. <v Speaker 4>I don't hate you of that stuff. Yeah, I don't <v Speaker 4>like holidays. <v Speaker 1>It's funny. Oh, holidays is okay. But a burnet sauce, <v Speaker 1>which is holiday Jason, Oh, that's the ship, A good <v Speaker 1>Brene sauce. It's got that. It's got that like I <v Speaker 1>don't know something about that almost taste a little marshmallowie <v Speaker 1>to me, which sounds crazy, but I love it. <v Speaker 3>Uh from Jeremy Hervey. <v Speaker 1>I think that's right. <v Speaker 3>If you guys come to Indianapolis, I will give you <v Speaker 3>a dozen of the best chocolate chip cookies you've ever had. <v Speaker 1>Is that at? I mean, that's just the kind of <v Speaker 1>threats that I love. Right there, I don't like. <v Speaker 5>I'm go look at the road trip map Indianapolis. We <v Speaker 5>could easily dip down there. That's a dip down. <v Speaker 1>Dip down. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, yeah, but I mean if you kind of like <v Speaker 3>begin to swell. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, because it's a lot. Okay, yeah, it's idea it Okay, <v Speaker 1>there we go. <v Speaker 3>Well we should we should not have given him veto <v Speaker 3>power over the road trip and he's gonna just cancel <v Speaker 3>the whole thing. Yeah, we haven't announced exactly like where <v Speaker 3>people will be able to hang out with us, but <v Speaker 3>there are some details in the works. We're moving putting <v Speaker 3>stuff together to maybe have a community meet up, so <v Speaker 3>we'll let you know. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, as we know more. <v Speaker 5>Obviously the road trip, there's gonna be a lot of <v Speaker 5>places we stop and stay and go have drinks, some <v Speaker 5>dinner and stuff. But there is one specific thing I'm <v Speaker 5>working on as far as like a actual real deal <v Speaker 5>community meetup situation, So stay tuned on that. But it's <v Speaker 5>coming together quickly. <v Speaker 1>All right. <v Speaker 3>Let's see here from Amy Winehouse of Leaves. A while ago, <v Speaker 3>y'all were complaining about no ski games. Hear me out, <v Speaker 3>baby steps, but L one controls left ski, L two <v Speaker 3>controls left pole, same for R one R two. <v Speaker 1>Fuck ice, No, I love this idea. <v Speaker 3>I would love this any game where you could control <v Speaker 3>all the limbs on a character. <v Speaker 4>That's I love that so much. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, so give that to me. <v Speaker 2>Reb Valentine is probably one of my favorite people in <v Speaker 2>games media, right, She's great. <v Speaker 1>Yeah. <v Speaker 2>I highly suggest folks go check out the article that <v Speaker 2>came out last week about how Baby Steps fans think <v Speaker 2>that that game might be a covert Uncharted sequel. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, it's uncharted five. Look, people have spoken Red is great. <v Speaker 5>But I gotta say there's something I saw pop up <v Speaker 5>in the last couple of days. Were one Yelix and <v Speaker 5>Alex Perry great games media fella. A friend of mine <v Speaker 5>made a post about Ocarina of Time. I don't remember <v Speaker 5>if you said it was mid or he said something <v Speaker 5>along those. He's like always this is blue sky is <v Speaker 5>saved space where I can say the Ocrina time is <v Speaker 5>mid or something like that. And she was one of <v Speaker 5>them in the games media space that was like, oh yeah, <v Speaker 5>she agreed. <v Speaker 3>She just played that a little bit ago too. <v Speaker 4>Yeah. <v Speaker 1>In the last couple of months. <v Speaker 4>Jesse Va Telly said the same thing. I know, I know, <v Speaker 4>people are just disappointing me left and right here. <v Speaker 1>No comment, I know, I know. <v Speaker 3>Chat of the Wild says the new season of the <v Speaker 3>Zelda podcast is live tingle there, there's you got in <v Speaker 3>there at a fair rate too, Yeah, zombie Boren says, <v Speaker 3>how does Dan Field know? And he's friends with the <v Speaker 3>famous pre eminent Mario expert Ben Hansen. I know one <v Speaker 3>in Minneapolis knows more about Mario and Nintendo. <v Speaker 5>Oh man, Uh, don't want to put some of Ben's <v Speaker 5>messages on the spot that he's told me about Mario. <v Speaker 5>It's pretty funny. He's the guy doing the local news rounds, <v Speaker 5>is the Mario expert. <v Speaker 3>He was on game mess mornings, and he was trying <v Speaker 3>to get me to be like that Mario wonder right, <v Speaker 3>And I'm like, no, I like that game and I <v Speaker 3>forgot just how much of a I don't get Mario. <v Speaker 5>Guy he is, So yeah, yeah, okay, I'll just have <v Speaker 5>to I think of something higher profile to be a <v Speaker 5>Mario expert on, so I'll get a man. <v Speaker 1>Dan, it's pathetic. You're not gonna be able to figure <v Speaker 1>out anything. <v Speaker 3>Vivreen says, why is Baklar the bad guy in a <v Speaker 3>zombie movie and it's dib that has to take him down? <v Speaker 3>Dan is Dibb's pet zombie in all of this? By <v Speaker 3>the way, Oh that man that actually super tracks. <v Speaker 1>That's great. It was the first part. <v Speaker 3>WHI is Backler the bad guy in a zombie movie <v Speaker 3>and it's Dib that has to take him down. <v Speaker 4>Because he doesn't like anything. <v Speaker 2>Oh okay, And then like Dib is plucky enough that like, no, <v Speaker 2>I see the good in the world still, Papa. <v Speaker 5>Yeah, it's sounded like Backlar is the big boss and <v Speaker 5>he's he's getting solid snake. <v Speaker 1>Yeah. Back Backlar accidentally created the zombies with his son <v Speaker 1>in a three D printer accident or something. Yeah, three <v Speaker 1>D printed as zombie. Then it affected affected other people. <v Speaker 4>Uh. <v Speaker 3>Pax East's own woke gabbagoul boy, who said high at <v Speaker 3>the show, says an idea for a karaoke slash musical <v Speaker 3>game feature, lay Mitch. <v Speaker 1>That's what I did not live until today. <v Speaker 5>Do you guys remember when we were leaving dinner in <v Speaker 5>Jersey that one night I think it was last year, <v Speaker 5>and he was just belting. It was like a back <v Speaker 5>and forth, like singing to himself and back thing. I <v Speaker 5>think it was from le Miz what wasn't It was <v Speaker 5>coming from both. <v Speaker 1>Sides of confrontation, like man like me can never change, <v Speaker 1>man like you can never change. <v Speaker 2>No. <v Speaker 1>Two four six one. Duties to the law. You have <v Speaker 1>rights again would be two four six so one. Now <v Speaker 1>the wheel has turned around, Jean Valjean is nothing. Now, <v Speaker 1>dare you speak to me of crime and the price <v Speaker 1>you had to pay? Every man is born of sin. <v Speaker 1>Every man must choose his way. You know nothing. I <v Speaker 1>was born inside of jail. I was born with scum <v Speaker 1>like you. I am from the gutter too, And then <v Speaker 1>the other characters dialogue. All right, right, the other the <v Speaker 1>other character, he does a different thing during all that, <v Speaker 1>which he here's indulge myself in here. <v Speaker 2>Here's the thing I was telling Mike before he got <v Speaker 2>going in that car ride. I know the other character <v Speaker 2>and it's more impactful as a duet as it's written. <v Speaker 4>And then Mike just kept going. <v Speaker 1>You've been looking for somebody to lt it with for <v Speaker 1>so long. <v Speaker 4>I told you twice though. <v Speaker 5>I don't people realize how much of a no off <v Speaker 5>switch guy Mike is. It's incredible, like we took a <v Speaker 5>break between the news and the games. Mike, you didn't <v Speaker 5>even realize this. We were all talking about like there's <v Speaker 5>logistics actually about the road trip, and I was bringing up, like, okay, <v Speaker 5>check the discord. Jan and grab check this out. So <v Speaker 5>and we're talking about like, oh, what do you think <v Speaker 5>about this? This this Mike doesn't have his headphones on, <v Speaker 5>so he doesn't know we're having this conversation. He's got <v Speaker 5>his Disney calendar in the back and he's changing the <v Speaker 5>month and he's just yelling and we. <v Speaker 4>Can pick it up on it like, oh it's many <v Speaker 4>mouse months. <v Speaker 1>Oh it's a many mouse. <v Speaker 4>It's like we're trying to have a business talk. <v Speaker 3>I was still staggered from the idea that Mike singing <v Speaker 3>seven stanzas was him not indulging himself. I know, I'm like, <v Speaker 3>what does that look like? <v Speaker 1>Think of me? What you will. <v Speaker 4>Remember when he was tired? <v Speaker 1>Right? What happens when he gets more? He needs surging in. <v Speaker 3>From Macro Parla. They say, what are the chances we <v Speaker 3>can get minimalist, small logo merch. I love more clothing <v Speaker 3>that I could wear to work for now, I'll buy <v Speaker 3>the kind of funny march. <v Speaker 1>Wow, Like, I know, I see what you're doing there <v Speaker 1>and it works. Yeah, it's gonna be a new March <v Speaker 1>job suitorybody. I'll try to include some Yeah you just <v Speaker 1>mean that GB logo. Yeah, something that doesn't have a <v Speaker 1>picture of or the word bomb in it. I get it. <v Speaker 1>That does have a. <v Speaker 3>Picture of a golf ball instead, and that's pretty pretty small. <v Speaker 1>Yeah. <v Speaker 2>That being said, I have seen folks clamoring for the <v Speaker 2>og red giant bomb block letter hoodie again. <v Speaker 3>We're gonna we're gonna see if we can bring. <v Speaker 4>Up to do this. <v Speaker 1>Yeah that Yeah, I just want to make sure we <v Speaker 1>get as good of a hoodie as we did for <v Speaker 1>that one, because it was just that one has lasted, <v Speaker 1>so I want to do right by it, make sure <v Speaker 1>we don't don't make sure our partner comes through. So yeah, <v Speaker 1>well we'll do what we can there. <v Speaker 3>But all right, last couple of super chats here from miguests. <v Speaker 3>I fell asleep. What did I miss? All right, Mike <v Speaker 3>start the podcast over, tell everything that happened. <v Speaker 1>I'm sleepy, dance like haha, Mike's sleepy, And I was like, <v Speaker 1>how dare you call me out for being sleepy? Chance like, <v Speaker 1>I want the people saw the Mario movie to talk <v Speaker 1>about that. I'm like, hats you know whatever, it's the <v Speaker 1>Mario movie. Janaid we should talk about video games. Dan <v Speaker 1>has a video game where he types something isn't that interesting? <v Speaker 1>I was like, that's kind of interesting. I'm not going <v Speaker 1>to get involved in this conversation about typing video games <v Speaker 1>that Jane said, Mike, you just I was like, oh, <v Speaker 1>it's my train to talk. So I talked about a <v Speaker 1>virtue fighter for a lot of it, and Jane said <v Speaker 1>I could go to the bathroom, and I did that. <v Speaker 1>I switched my calendar and it had a mini mouths <v Speaker 1>with a bumblebee on it. I'm like, that's nice. Uh, <v Speaker 1>I can't believe I didn't switch that until just now. <v Speaker 1>We're already a weekend to April. That's my bet, that's <v Speaker 1>on me. Jeff wanted to talk about the video game <v Speaker 1>news and Quantic Dream is maybe not going to make <v Speaker 1>a Star Wars game after all, and then Mario movie <v Speaker 1>made a lot of money, so that was nice. And <v Speaker 1>then Jane was like, oh, do you guys need to <v Speaker 1>take a break, And I'm like I gotta be a <v Speaker 1>little bit, but like everyone else doesn't want to take <v Speaker 1>a break, so that's okay. We can just go into <v Speaker 1>the next thing there. And that's that's when Jeff showed <v Speaker 1>us the video game ad and it was like two <v Speaker 1>words and he's like, this one's pretty easy, and no <v Speaker 1>we had no idea. He disappointed us. Then I remembered <v Speaker 1>about Atomic bomber Man. Then Jeff said that he thought <v Speaker 1>it was a port of Saturn bomber Man, and I'm like, <v Speaker 1>that's not right, that's not right. I looked it up <v Speaker 1>and that's incorrect. This came out before that. Oh really <v Speaker 1>yeah yeah, So another another grub l and then I <v Speaker 1>was like, so there's yeah yeah. And then I was like, emails, Mike, <v Speaker 1>you gotta read super chats. I'm like, oh crap, my <v Speaker 1>name was said again. I had to do something. Then <v Speaker 1>actually clicked the button where I got signed out, so <v Speaker 1>those of Jeff came in and he read the super <v Speaker 1>chats instead. I think that that's what's happening right now, Sean. <v Speaker 2>Can you do me the biggest favor and cut that <v Speaker 2>out and put that at the very beginning of the podcasts? <v Speaker 4>Yeah podcast, yeah, oh yeah yeah. <v Speaker 1>Podcast in mic for him, Mitch just recapped the BombCast <v Speaker 1>right after it happens Premium only. Yes, incredible, it's a good wit bam. <v Speaker 4>That's right. <v Speaker 2>That's what they're calling it. The titter wit bam. That's <v Speaker 2>what the kids on the streets are calling it.
