00:00:20 Speaker 1: I don't know if that's a proper introduction. 00:00:22 Speaker 2: That is that what's happening. 00:00:26 Speaker 1: That's not it. That's that's what I wanted. That's what I want to. Thank you. 00:00:32 Speaker 2: So you're going for fanfare but decided on close to execution. 00:00:39 Speaker 1: Thank you. I feel seen maybe you saw the announcement yesterday on people dot com. But if you didn't, please let us be the first to tell you we have a book coming out again. 00:00:59 Speaker 2: No, that's not it. 00:01:03 Speaker 3: Where's a law and order music. 00:01:08 Speaker 2: Now? If it was a true crime book, that would have worked. Okay, okay, well the fanfare? Okay, bet are good? 00:01:18 Speaker 1: All right? Book Meets World, An Oral History of Boy Meets World will be released on November tenth, twenty twenty six, but it is available for pre order right now. So I'm very excited about this book. I know both of you are as well. Writer. What are you most looking forward to about the book? 00:01:39 Speaker 4: I think just having because you know, when we've had so many conversations that are you know, over the course of three and a half years of this podcast, and it's just so nice to have a compilation of the best and the most important, and I'm just I'm just I just love the idea of being able to flip through basically what because this has been such a journey. You know, we talked about it on stage a lot and maybe less so on the actual podcast, but like how important this podcast and re like going back over Boy Meets World and this time in our lives has been professionally, personally, it's just it's affected. It's like the biggest change in my life in the last you know, ten years, I would say, and like, I'm just so glad we did it. And I think having a sort of a book version of that journey is going to be amazing. 00:02:31 Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean it makes me want to cry just thinking about it. Oh yeah, it will be amazing. 00:02:37 Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I think it's going to be great because there are probably quite a few people who are huge fans of the show just for whatever reason, find out about the podcast now and then look and see that there are forty five hundred episodes of Podmeats World to have to catch us. There's probably close to six undred, though there there are a lot, and so you know, they're like, hey, it would take me forever to go through and learn all of the things through this and now everything from our seven seasons of recaps and interviews. There will be notes about things we've learned, things we've uncovered, and you will get also all new, exclusive behind the scenes stories and never before seen images as well. So that'll be nice. Will What about you? What are you looking forward to the most? 00:03:30 Speaker 2: The scratch and sniff section. I think that's really cool, like what did tupangas smell like? Smell like that kind of thing, So I'm looking forward to that. The coloring part is going to be fun. And all the pictures I'm really looking forward to those. 00:03:46 Speaker 1: I didn't realize you were doing that. 00:03:48 Speaker 2: Am I doing different? Am different than everybody? 00:03:51 Speaker 1: Maybe it seems like it. My portion of the book is pop up. 00:03:53 Speaker 2: It's exactly okay, good on the same. 00:03:57 Speaker 4: We should have done all of this, by the way, if we're a coloring section where you just colored in the red juice, the drink. 00:04:06 Speaker 2: Of red drink, yes, oh my god. 00:04:08 Speaker 3: Pop up of just our hair. 00:04:11 Speaker 2: Our cuts, yes, oh yeah. And then the obituaries of everyone who sat in the death the death chair. We really dropped the ball on the book. 00:04:22 Speaker 5: I know. 00:04:22 Speaker 1: Well, could you please write these down in an email? Send them out there. We're still working on it. We can. We could cram a little bit. Yeah, okay, but is there anything other than those scratch and sniff and coloring sections. 00:04:36 Speaker 2: You know? You know what I'm looking for is I think I think when people get to lend their voice to something without lending their voice to something, if that makes sense. When it comes to like, say, the podcast, we've had some people that haven't necessarily wanted to come on and talk about everything on the podcast, then I think are a little more open to doing it in an interview that is then put down in a written form. So I think there's going to be some stuff that people are going to read about that we haven't been able to cover on the podcast that I think they're really going to like. And that's what I'm looking forward to. That a little more in depth interviews and sometimes we've been able to do. 00:05:12 Speaker 1: Yeah. Well, writer Will and I are writing alongside producer Slash husband of the podcast, Jensen Karp, and writer Emily Longretta, who has quickly become our favorite writer who has been covering the podcast since it's very inception for Variety and now Here. She is helping to carve out the book that will define us. She is meeting with our past guests and us to learn even more. You guys have both had your interviews. I'm actually having mine later this week, and that's how we're going to make sure we take it even beyond just what we've said on the podcast. The book is being released by Hannover Square Press and we want to thank everyone over there and our book agent, Noah Ballard, and as always we want to thank you are incredible listeners who have been with us for the entire journey, or maybe you've recently joined and you're part of the community now, so thank you to all of you. We can't do this without you. So again, you could pre order Book Meets World right now wherever you get books, but go support those local mom and pop shops if you can. We will have a link on the Pod meets World show Instagram page and uh we hope you like it. We have had a lot of fun putting it together, so enjoy everyone. 00:06:28 Speaker 2: When there's book meets World this book World. 00:06:35 Speaker 1: I think we should add in if you could find any of your old from eleven years old cigarettes, if you have any cigarette butts, a. 00:06:44 Speaker 2: Scratch and slash, Yes, the smell of just waking up from naptime and lighting a camel. Hell yeah, there's nothing that we'll talk about more passionately than cigarettes. A last time, I didn't need joy in my life. 00:07:05 Speaker 1: Welcome to Podby's World. I'm Danielle Fischel, I'm right or Strong. 00:07:11 Speaker 2: I'm Wilfred. 00:07:26 Speaker 1: Well. An episode we have feared since the inception of. 00:07:31 Speaker 2: The podcast that shall live in infamy. It is here. 00:07:37 Speaker 1: It is season seven, episode eight, The Honeymooners. It originally aired November twelfth, nineteen ninety nine. The synopsis. While Corey into Panga honeymoon on a tropical island and flirt with the idea of staying forever, they have no idea that Eric has followed them there. It was directed by William Russ. It was written by Barbie Feldman. Before I jump into our guest stars, shall we hear our overall thoughts? 00:08:06 Speaker 2: Go? 00:08:07 Speaker 3: Will you go first? 00:08:08 Speaker 2: Okay, go go? I thought there was no chance it could be as bad as we remember it being, and that with the amount of conversations we are having about it's the worst episode ever and it's terrible that it could not possibly hit those expectations and it was worse than that. Yes, uh, that's what I thought it was just it was it was. 00:08:35 Speaker 3: The bottom of the barrel. 00:08:36 Speaker 2: I mean, it's one of those things where it's like you wonder what pitches they decided not to go with, where it was just yeah, I didn't. And again everyone's like, you know, you read the comments, why do they hate their show so much? We don't? We love our show? Are you kidding me? Our show is amazing. Occasionally, as in every television show, you have some stinkers, and this, I think you'd be hard pressed to say there is a worst episode of a worst episode of Boymans World than this episode. Yep. 00:09:05 Speaker 3: Totally with you, man, totally with you. 00:09:07 Speaker 4: And I think about like other episodes that felt zany and stressful, like the Quiz Show, you know when I think I had negative associations in my memory with that episode because it was like why are we wearing stuff on our heads? And you know, there were natives dancing around us with spears, like there was a lot of zany, ridiculous stuff. 00:09:28 Speaker 3: But when we watched it, I was like, oh no, that was actually a brilliant episode in a lot of ways, and I loved it. This was not this was so unredeemable. 00:09:37 Speaker 4: It was truly just bad. Yeah, yeah, I mean the only thing I liked is I like the sentiment at the end. I liked the Coriri Tapanga sentiment of like, uh like being home and being with these crazy people is what we really love. 00:09:49 Speaker 3: That's a nice sentiment. 00:09:51 Speaker 4: But oh my god, was it a horrible long twenty two minutes to get there. 00:09:56 Speaker 1: I thought it was so much better than I remember. 00:10:00 Speaker 2: Are you serious? 00:10:01 Speaker 1: I'm serious. Here's the thing. Here's the thing. I, for the first time in possibly years, loved Corey and Topanga together. 00:10:16 Speaker 3: Interesting. 00:10:17 Speaker 1: Thought they were cute and fun, loved their loved their dynamic, loved seeing Tapenga happy with him, Loved seeing Corey in whatever that really just Ben scene was where he's making coconuts and he's just being funny Ben that we remember doing his impressions and making everybody laugh. Considering, I loved the two of them together in this episode and felt very happy that they were in a relationship. Didn't not even once between the two of them did I feel like, oh ick, I just liked them. Everything else about the episode was truly terrible. I just I completely agree about everything else, but the fact that I even liked through an entire episode the Corey and Tapega relationship and thought that was cute and could see a world where an episode where Corey and Tapega go on a on a fantastic trip and Corey decides he doesn't want to come back, and how Tapega is going to have to convince him that home is really where paradise is cute in theory, not executed well with any of the other stuff. I don't understand the joke about the people moving from Ohio, and I don't why they never had Eric interact with Corey and Tapanga. There was like such a missed opportunity for real comedy there. It was really lacking in comedy. 00:11:53 Speaker 2: Why is Eric there at all? 00:11:55 Speaker 1: Why are you there then to have Eric. 00:11:57 Speaker 2: In the show? There's no reason whatsoever. And then the whole joke is just I just pass out every time. And I get what you're saying about Corey and Tapanga, and I think you can actually attribute that to the last two or three episodes, because we've said, like, you know, planning the wedding, that's that's a great version of Corey and Topanga all, you know, even the wedding itself great version of Coreyantapanga. So Corey and Tapanga couple, Corey and Tapanga. I actually agree with you. It's it's interesting, but it was also it's so absurd where now Corey's an artist all of a sudden and can carve things. They build the coconut Hut within a day. It's just it's so And then any time on any show ever, and this isn't just our show, this is any show. Anytime you go to Tropical Island land, Yeah, on a set, it always just looks so bad. I know where it's like, throw them you've already had them, and that you've talked about Amish country. Put them in somewhere like the troupe. Oh god, I just I can't. I can't. It was and I the thing that was also helpful while watching this episode is knowing that this is the bottom of the barrel. Like everything else we're gonna watch is going to be better than this episode. 00:13:07 Speaker 1: So I'm whatever episode we thought was the worst a few episodes ago still for me is the worst of the worst of the worst. And this was better than that. 00:13:15 Speaker 2: Really Wow yeah impressive. Wow, I don't agree, but impressive. 00:13:20 Speaker 4: Yeah yeah, And I feel like this you know, we've always talked about how Will like your superpower and what made you so great was that they would give you anything and you would commit one hundred percent. This was the first time I was like, Nope, they pushed Will too far. I was like, I can. 00:13:36 Speaker 3: See it in your eyes. 00:13:36 Speaker 4: I was like, Will is not enjoying this. No, and he is not. You're still doing it, but I can see in your eyes. 00:13:43 Speaker 3: I was like, he is. 00:13:44 Speaker 4: From the first scene when you like when you pull up your mat or whatever, I was like, oh, Will is unhappy and this not enjoyed this week. So I feel like they maxed out there there. You know, they went as far as they could go and it just didn't work. 00:13:57 Speaker 2: No. Well, I mean, I guess I think the way you save this episode is you do the A story is exactly this, Corey Intapanga on an island, and then you have a B story back in Philadelphia and you do some kind of regular thing. Maybe everybody's life is completely different because Corey and Tapanga aren't there and there's something weird. You could do some kind of fun but keeping it all there with nobody from the show, just the three of us, it was like, what is happened, but. 00:14:20 Speaker 4: Also the motivation like why do they want to stay like that is never there is never established that, like Corey into Panga, Like even if Corey just stressed, yeah, like what what what is it that that motive? If that was motivated from like a real like I'm so sick of these crazy people in our lives, right, that's all That's all that would have taken, is like the Eric factor. There's some I can't believe there was not that that inciting things so that when they decide we're going to stay here, which is insane. 00:14:47 Speaker 1: That from argue that being arrested on your wedding night, right is what is what insided that? 00:14:56 Speaker 2: The thing they don't say it. 00:14:59 Speaker 4: Like Corey just says it's like, ah, we've had sex and now I want to live here like these people, and you're. 00:15:04 Speaker 1: Like what he does say think about it? No stress, no Eric, no feoene he does, but he talks about that. 00:15:12 Speaker 4: Yes, I don't feel like I don't feel like Corey and Tapanca hate their life in Philadelphia enough or that there's a specific enough reason for me to be like. 00:15:20 Speaker 2: Oh yeah, man, go stay like it's I think it's supposed to be not to take this to a level where they clearly didn't mean it like this, because it's certainly much deeper than what we saw. But I think it's it's especially it's supposed to be eating the lotus blossoms, you know, it's supposed to be the Odyssey where they land on a beautiful island, they eat the lotus blossoms and they never want to leave, And I think that's kind of what they were going for, but it just never really worked. No, Yeah, it was. It was odd. 00:15:47 Speaker 1: Well, let's jump into our guest stars. We have Michael Dempsey as the cop. He's been working in Hollywood since the early nineties, when he appeared on shows like Roseanne, Life Goes On and Beverly Hills nine O two one Oh. He's probably most recognized from nine episodes of Desperate Housewives, where he also played a comp and most recently he has shown up on Barry Mayan's MC and Netflix's You. So he is still working. 00:16:11 Speaker 2: And he was Beth's husband, right, that's right. Yeah. 00:16:16 Speaker 4: I was so funny because I was like, why do I know him so well? I'm like yeah, And I was like, oh, he must just be one of those character aacters. 00:16:22 Speaker 3: But no, you're right. He was always he was around. 00:16:24 Speaker 2: Because he was around, he was he was. He and Beth were married. 00:16:26 Speaker 1: Yeah, that's right, Beth our page. 00:16:28 Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, Beth the stage manager. Yeah. 00:16:32 Speaker 3: They ended up divorcing later. But I saw him in a play. He did a play that was actually pretty damn good. 00:16:40 Speaker 4: Yeah, so that's right, Okay, I knew I knew him when the second I saw him, I was like, Oh, I know this guy really well. 00:16:44 Speaker 2: He hung out on the set, was a good guy. Yeah. 00:16:47 Speaker 1: Then we have Anne Haney as Missus Nelson. Haney was a very recognizable comedic character actress to our listeners, mostly playing an uptight and rigid older lady. All her prominent roles happened after the age of forty, best known from big parts in movies Liar, Liar and Missus Doubtfire. She also appeared on a lot of TV, from Doogie Houser to Golden Girls to La Law. Sadly, Haney passed away in two thousand and one at the very young age of sixty seven. And then we have John Ingall as mister Nelson, best known as the principal in the movie Heather's Ingle was a lifer on General Hospital, clocking in over five hundred episodes as Edward Quartermain, but he also appeared in movies like RoboCop two, Death Becomes Her and he was the narrator in the Land Before Time movies. Ingle passed away in twenty twelve at the age of eighty four, and then we have Mimi Cousins as Tourist Number one's wife. Mimi was an industry vet who is best known as Nolae soup Woman in an episode of Star Trek The Next Generation. She was also seen in the Paul Thomas Anderson movie The Master, Seventh Heaven and Seinfeld. She played Missus Canterman. Cousins died in twenty twenty one at the age of eighty six, and then we have Paul Kent as Tourist Number one, another actor with a lot of credits. Kent oddly appeared in two different TV movie versions of Helter Skelter based on the Charles Manson case, playing two different characters. Other credits include Star Trek, The Wrath of Kahn, Not a Soupman, Webster, and Frasier. He passed away in twenty eleven at the age of eighty so to jump in to our recap, we get a previously on Boy Meets World, and we are reminded of Corey into Penga's wedding. Sean toasts to the new couple and Eric hans over his gift the key to their very own honeymoon suite. Corey doesn't even let his brother finish a speech. He snatches the key and runs away like a giddy hornball who just changed his entire life as a teenager to finally have sex. And then we are at the honeymoon suite. Corey into Penga stand in the hallway, still dressed in their wedding outfits. Corey asks, with a grin, you think we're finally ready to be mister and missus Matthews. She admits, I think we've been ready our whole lives. He picks her up to cross the threshold and kicks open the double doors. So what did we need a key for? 00:19:11 Speaker 5: Joe? 00:19:11 Speaker 2: There's a lot with this scene that's like we. 00:19:17 Speaker 1: He rushes into the room and throws her onto the bed with like Vader body slamming mankind. She tries to ask, don't you want to? Just as Corey shimmys out of his jacket and belly flops onto the bed to Penga finishes her question explore and take our time. Corey continues to strip, not considering any of her suggestions. She reminds him there's such a thing as foreplay. He insists he doesn't need it, but she says she might, like all considerate lovers. He responds, you've had twelve years of it, how much more do you require? She tells him to stay on the bed and promises he won't be disappointed. As she saunters away, he gets onto his knees, begging, don't leave me. I can't do this alone. Once she's in the bathroom room, he perks up at the side of a fruit basket. Ory grabs an apple and reads the card attached to the basket. It's from the hotel, thanking mister and missus Harold Peterman for their patronage. 00:20:10 Speaker 2: And he's surprised by the name. How is he surprised? How is he surprised time he was married as Myron Alan Peterman or whatever? How is he not remember that they were the Peterman's. It's such an easy writing thing, though. 00:20:25 Speaker 4: I fix you'd just be like, yeah, well, you know, I don't know what like, he obviously knows what's going on. 00:20:31 Speaker 1: He should just say how much he loves being a Peterman. 00:20:34 Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly, yeah, or calling are you ready? Hi? Mera like from the you know, yelling in that you could play on the joke. But the idea that he doesn't remember that's how they just got married is so weird. 00:20:44 Speaker 1: Yeah, so so stupid. Corey doesn't let it bother him, tossing the card aside without a care in the world. And then Topega appears wearing sexy lingerie and sort of making a popeye face. 00:20:55 Speaker 2: How where did lingerie come from? You didn't know about the room. The room was not yours to have laundrye. 00:21:03 Speaker 1: I guess I was wearing it under my reading dress. 00:21:06 Speaker 2: You were wearing a thing with a cape, Launderie, How you walked out? I'm like, how unless she comes out naked? Maybe, how is that possible? 00:21:16 Speaker 1: Another great way it could have been the joke is that my repeaterman has great tasted launde. 00:21:22 Speaker 2: Something it's the same size and has But nope, somehow Topanga is now magic and manifested. 00:21:29 Speaker 1: Launderie did not even think of that. I really did just see. 00:21:32 Speaker 2: They're going how how is that possible. 00:21:36 Speaker 4: It's the most realistic part of this episode was the most realistic, by the way. 00:21:41 Speaker 2: Not an awful way to start the episode. Them fumbling through sex for the first time. What's going to happen if they rewrote them? It's like, Okay, this is not awful. Them in the room, great, you got me so far. But other than the stupid stupidness, it's like, Okay, this isn't the worst thing ever. Ben's really funny. Danielle, You're funny and sexy, and it all works at this point, but again it goes downhill fast well, and. 00:22:07 Speaker 1: Then Corey shouts this. 00:22:16 Speaker 2: Ya yay. 00:22:18 Speaker 1: Corey, with a huge grin, watches Topanga walk over to the bed and get under the covers. Then, while Corey is mesmerized, her lingerie flies across the room and lands on his head. He basks in the moment, totally blinded by the nightie and laughing, oh my. The camera flips back to Tapanga, who now appears to be naked and smiling. It's a jiff sent to me daily on social media. Yeah really, uh huh? 00:22:43 Speaker 2: What are you? What are you actually wearing under there? Do you remember what you had on? 00:22:49 Speaker 1: I think I had on just some sort of like tube top like and shorts. No, not a tank no tank, No, but a tankini has straps. Yea a two beanie. It was a beanie. I was wearing a two beanie under there. Yeah, Corey can't stop boasting. This is so great. I wish Sean was here. Very funny, very funny. Best line was so good to Pega seductively reveals it's probably best there alone, and reveals that's it. There's nothing under the covers but her. Corey, who's wearing the lingerie as a makeshift veil at this point, scurries over to the bed. I've been waiting for this moment my entire life. He then peeks under the covers and screams at the top of his lungs and excitement to Panga adds and only for you. In response, Corey quickly takes off his pants and tells his bride he loves her. They start to kiss, and ta Peka says, I love you and I love Eric. Cory quickly pulls away. What she earnestly clarifies, this beautiful wedding he arranged full room makes up for everything bad he's ever done to us. Corey nods in agreement, and then they go back to kissing and professing their love for one another, and then a squad of cops break into the room. Corey pulls away from Topanga and hopes they're kidding. One of the cops commands roll away from the young lady and put your hands where I can see them. Corey is unwilling to follow orders. He holds onto Tapanga for dear life, no kill me. As Topeka is being crushed by him. She asks the cops, why are you guys doing this? The cop simply asks, are you mister and missus Harold Peterman Ta Panka says no, and the guy explains that's why, and with that, the officers hoist the bed into the air, with Corey and Tapanga still in it, and walk into the hallway. 00:24:43 Speaker 4: Pretty funny, Actually you have to pick You had to have six cops so you could carry the bed. 00:24:48 Speaker 3: I love that. 00:24:48 Speaker 2: It's like again, most realistic part of the episode the squad of cops. 00:24:57 Speaker 1: Corey yells out asking for the cops to come back in two minutes when he sees Eric. Again, Very funny, this all works, yep, very well done. Eric is also in handcuffs. He asks, Corey begs him for help, but Eric just laughs, how cool is this man? He puts on a Scottish accent. We get to go on the potty wagon. 00:25:16 Speaker 2: Okay, so this I'm glad you got it though, because I do say man. But there's a whole thing on the Internet that's convinced that I'm saying Ben. So they think I'm saying this, How great is this Ben? We get to go in the patty wagon. So it's people, like he said, and to the point where we watched it last night, Sue's like, did you say Ben? It sounds like you just said his name and we went back. I was like, no, I'm saying man. Yeah, people are thinking that I'm saying Bet. Yeah, We've got to go on the potty wagon. Yeah. And it's Irish, Danielle, It's Irish, not Scottish, Scottish. 00:25:51 Speaker 1: So sorry whatever. The cop pushes him to follow the couple. Let's go fun boy. They walk away. Eric wonders, can I use your night stick? And then we're on the honeymoon. 00:26:04 Speaker 2: They should have just rolled the credits after night stick YEP, funny cut right to the end of them coming back from the honeymoon. It's them going we didn't want to leave. The episode was nine minutes long, and it would have been great, by the way. 00:26:17 Speaker 4: I wonder if that's what happened, if that if it was actually this was the end of the wedding episode, and oh they just the wedding episode got too long and they were just. 00:26:25 Speaker 3: Like, well, let's just push it to it. We'll just make that the next episode. And oh maybe then they had nothing else we're going to talk too about it. It's like, let's stretch this out. How do we make this on a whole episode. 00:26:36 Speaker 1: Well, we get some grainy stock footage a plane taking off a tropical island and a beach with some lawn chairs, and then we see Corey and Tapanga kiss once again, now in front of a lit tiki torch and some tacky tropical decor. Cory asks with enthusiasm, are you excited we're finally on our honeymoon. She wonders if he's going to carry her over the threshold, and he huffs no, because the last time I did, the police broke in and I spent the night with a guy named Sheila. Hey, penga, Hey, there. 00:27:03 Speaker 6: We go the prison jokes so funny to Pega figures they'll just walk right into their room then, but Corey stops her. 00:27:18 Speaker 1: She laughs, you want me to carry you? He extends his arms and insists I'm light as a feather. Really. She hoists him into the air and plops him onto the bed with a grunt. 00:27:27 Speaker 3: Now, did you see the do you guys see the hand? 00:27:29 Speaker 4: What when you guys burst in, there's a crew hand on the right side of the screen. It looks like you're holding the wall so that when you guys kicked through the door, the wall doesn't go down. Crewmember's hand with a watch holding it up the wall. It's like, oh, how obvious. 00:27:48 Speaker 2: It was, like, my god, God, that's great, it's really funny. 00:27:53 Speaker 1: Oh that's so funny. I did I'm going to have to go back and watch that. I did not notice that. He strikes a sexy pose. Have your way with me now. She closes the door, and we hear Corey yell yay, and then stock footage of waves crashing against rocks and palm trees, and then we are pooled. 00:28:11 Speaker 4: Okay, so we're just never going to say where we are. We're just tropical places. Native people we're on island. Rider, we're on island. 00:28:21 Speaker 2: We're on island with native tribal people who are cannibals and from Ohio, and the other party is Communist, so the Rider we're on island. So yeah, it's so bad to be like we went to Hawaii. 00:28:40 Speaker 4: But then you have to, like, you know, actually name the people that you're demeaning with your colonial crap. No, but this way they just get to be generic island folk who we. 00:28:51 Speaker 1: Can yep topengas reading a magazine by the pool as we hear an announcement on an overhead speaker. By the way, reading a magazine by the pool was my favorite activity. 00:29:08 Speaker 2: Old school, jam right oh Man. 00:29:11 Speaker 1: To just go. I think magazines came out on Fridays. My mom and I used to go, like if you went Thursday night, sometimes the Friday magazines were already out, and you just rifle through the new mags, pick out a bunch of them, and then just sit by the pool. Sometimes I would go to Palm Springs with Jamie and we'd buy magazines and sit out there and it'd be like one hundred and twenty degrees and the magazine binding would melt, so the magazine would just peel open as you were reading it because. 00:29:38 Speaker 2: You're reading Tiger Be just go and dated them, dated. 00:29:41 Speaker 1: Him, dated data that guys too him, turn him down? Why didn't I go out with that? 00:29:50 Speaker 2: Then? 00:29:53 Speaker 4: What magazines would you have been reading? Honestly, like you were probably reading like what Vanity Fair. 00:29:58 Speaker 1: I don't know why I was reading us. I would reading People, I was reading Cosmo. I was reading uh Yeahundation. If you scroll right, this is what's replaced magazines. 00:30:09 Speaker 2: People are still an actual magazine, right, Like there's a physical magazine for people. Isn't that the thing? 00:30:14 Speaker 1: Yes? And for us? But but they are you know, you can see him at checkout. But they're just not the same as they used to be. But I'm man, I still want When I think of like going on vacation, I think where where am I going to get my magazines? 00:30:27 Speaker 2: On your phone? 00:30:29 Speaker 1: On my phone? So we hear an announcement on the overhead speaker. Attention Katonka. So we're at Katanka. Is that is that the island name? Or do you think that's the resort name? 00:30:52 Speaker 2: I don't know. 00:30:53 Speaker 4: I don't know, because don't they like make up a greeting like Corey says something like hun ka tunka. 00:30:58 Speaker 2: Or whatever, yeah, kle or something like that. 00:31:01 Speaker 3: They're just making up like fake Hawaiian speak. 00:31:05 Speaker 1: Will the couple who left their dog in the piranha tank please come claim his caller to Panga happily SIPs on a coconut drink. When an older woman asks if the seat next to her has taken to, Panga admits, I was saving it for my husband, Corey Corey Matthews. I'm missus Matthews. That's my name. Now he's my husband. I'm his wife. 00:31:25 Speaker 2: Did either of you do that? Oh and you got married? 00:31:29 Speaker 1: Yes, Jenson is still in my phone as husband, mister carp Yeah. 00:31:34 Speaker 2: I do remember. 00:31:35 Speaker 4: It was super fun to be Yeah, it's like my wife this, Yeah, my wife, my wife. 00:31:40 Speaker 2: It's a great line from Seinfeld or they're trying it out and Jerry's like, it's a great way to start a sentence. My wife, this, my wife. Ben Cramer just goes, my wife has an inner ear infection. That is great, but it's a wife. 00:31:56 Speaker 1: Yeah, my wife, my husband so cute. Now we're all old and married. I'm married, the lady assumes on your honeymoon, dear, Topenga grins, I'm a wife. The woman responds, me too, Madeleine Nelson. They shake hands and Madeline explains, I used to be Madeleine pig sniffle, That's why I got married. Madeline ignores Toapega's earlier answer about the chair and takes the seat. 00:32:25 Speaker 4: Yeah, that's what I was kind of like, just just sends it out like she literally told you. It's I'm saving it from my husband and you just take it. 00:32:33 Speaker 1: Take it to. Pega explains, I got married because I'm crazy about my man. 00:32:42 Speaker 2: Yeah. 00:32:44 Speaker 1: The inmates are obsessed with true love and they cheer at that declaration. Madeleine gives a knowing nod honeymoon yes to Pega, whispers to a total stranger, last night was our first night together as mad and why. 00:32:59 Speaker 2: We had s ex. 00:33:01 Speaker 4: I want to hear the details. Okay, last night we started. 00:33:06 Speaker 2: Off this way. 00:33:11 Speaker 1: Madeleine's eyes go wide to ask is he still sleeping? Topanga brags, Oh, yeah, I wore him out. 00:33:21 Speaker 2: Because all of a sudden, who wouldn't do anything but kiss is now a sex kitten, like just so in charge of sex and sexuality, Like I've been planning this for twenty eight yet like my god, oh. 00:33:35 Speaker 1: The Peanut gallery cheers again and Madeline approves at a girl. Madeleine admits her man is also sleeping. To Panga wonders, you wore him out too, and again a very very funny joke. Madeleine nods yes, gradually. You know, we honeymooned here ourselves. We come here every year on our anniversary, but this year is very special because we've decided to retire here. And then the PA blasts again, paging missus, Matthews, missus. Corey Matthews to Pega excitedly claps her hands together. That's me, that's me. Then we see Corey proudly gliding in high on life. An old man grabs him by the shoulders and laughs, honeymoon. Corey grins, how can you tell? The man points out, I can see all your teeth. Corey nods, It's true. I'm a man. Now the man praises him. You're very happy boy. 00:34:31 Speaker 2: What I mean? 00:34:31 Speaker 3: What has happened in this episode? 00:34:33 Speaker 2: Like Ily, Corey and t Banga have. 00:34:35 Speaker 4: Gone to an island and are talking to an older couple and just expositing about sex. All that has happened, no conflict, no but. 00:34:42 Speaker 2: It's abound to get super funny, like we have just we've had like five full minutes of out nothing characters like this thing happened with my penis? Yeah, okay, who cares? Just so there's no conflict, like just give me anything anything like it's just like. 00:35:12 Speaker 1: My gosh, Okay. The old man agrees it's good in the beginning, isn't it? And Corey announces, it's my new favorite thing. 00:35:19 Speaker 4: You're still just talking about what happened with body parts? 00:35:23 Speaker 2: Can I can I pitch a better Honeymoon episode really quickly? Please? Okay? Anything I know. But they set it up perfectly where they're stopped right before they're about to have sex in the hotel room. So the entire episode should be them right about to do it somewhere and then they're stopped and they've waited to get that long and then out of nowhere, and then at the end something happens where they finally they do it where they never think they're going to, or something like that. 00:35:51 Speaker 3: Then that pitch and then they were just like, that's too obvious. Let's go. Let's let's do coconuts. 00:36:02 Speaker 1: Nearby. Topanga waves to Corey from her spot Hi, mister Matthews. He greets back high Missus Matthews. He points and tells the old man mine. In return, the man points to Madeline Mine. The new friends approach their wives, and Corey boasts about the mister and Missus Matthews page he arranged for Chapanga. He also asked for them to page Doctor Chocolate Pudding. Next, Tapanga introduces him to the Nelsons and explains that they are retiring on the island. Corey calls the island amazing and says the towels are the softest that has ever grazed his tushy. Topanga adds that the water tastes like candy, which honestly sounds terrible. Joe tells the Nelsons they're lucky to be on the island because normally they'd be in cold Philadelphia in Phoenie's class right now, and the sanitation department would probably be on strike. The Nelson's counter We'd be in Baltimore watching our grandson, Joey's soccer team, the Mighty Gophers, and she'd be in the car with the heater going, saying is it over yet? I'm so cold? So now, the only conflict or problem more which has been it's still like position. 00:37:01 Speaker 2: It's still just yackstory Corl where we live is cold. 00:37:05 Speaker 1: Yeah, here it's warm exactly not. 00:37:07 Speaker 2: It And we've been to explained. 00:37:10 Speaker 1: Yeah, she'd be in the car with the heater going, saying is it over yet? I'm so cold? Madeline rolls her eyes. She doesn't like the cold, and Corey agrees me neither. In fact, I'm cold right now. Topek is confused it's ninety two degrees, but Corey rattles on in a robotic tone, I'm very cold. Why don't we go into the bedroom and go under the covers like we did before? To Penga quips back, we're married now, we can do it every night for the rest of your life. Mister Nelson suggests, get it and writing kid. Then over the pa we hear doctor Pudding paging Doctor Chocolate Pudding to Panga and Corey laugh they love this place. Then they start to kiss, but sneaky music begins to play and we see a masked man with a plastic lizard strapped to his ski mask snooping around. The creeper takes off his mask and it's Eric gasping for air. Oh I am so freaking hot, guys. I bet here's where the conflict is gonna come in heat the comedy. 00:38:06 Speaker 2: The conflict of comedy, comedy and conflict. 00:38:09 Speaker 4: Yes, this is what I saw Will's face, and I was like, oh no. 00:38:13 Speaker 2: For the first time ever, he's dead inside. 00:38:15 Speaker 4: You know, you just looked off. Yes, everything was just off. I was like, he is not having fun. He is not like this is. 00:38:23 Speaker 2: There's only so much you can make funny. Yeah, yeah, I mean there really does come a limit where you're like, I don't I don't know what I can do with this. I don't know what I can do. I'll do my best, but I don't know what I can do. Yeah. 00:38:35 Speaker 1: He pulls out a recorder Honeymoon day two, continuing duties as best man. Screwed up wedding night, so must make it up to them here in paradise. So exposition for why you're there. Yes, kay, He's so overheated that he's lost his train of thought. He's decided to pass out, and with that he falls to the floor. And then we're on the beach. The Panga feeds Corey a chocolate covered strawberry. 00:39:00 Speaker 4: See, I've ever like it's just yeah, they were like, oh, then he's there. We gotta have an energy to the scene. Okay, they just haven't pass out because it's so hot, and it happens multiple times. 00:39:11 Speaker 2: That's the end of the scene, like, just just have will fall? 00:39:13 Speaker 3: Does will pass out? You pass out at the end of every scene, right? 00:39:17 Speaker 2: Yeah? Wow. 00:39:17 Speaker 1: The panga feeds Corey at chocolate covered strawberry, and he notes how romantic of a move that was. She explains, well, this is the most romantic place there could ever be. He smirks, do you want to dance? Tapang is confused, since wins do you like to dance? And he answers, since I'm in the most beautiful place in the world staring at the most beautiful woman I've ever seen the audience who has genuinely just awed for ten minutes straight. They do it again. He takes her hand and starts to sway, but Tapanga points out there isn't any music. Corey proclaims, we're in paradise. We'll make our own, and immediately after he says that music begins to play. They're in shock. That was cool, and then we see Eric in a white tuxedo conducting a live band. He's now dripping in sweat. How is it this hot? When there's no son out, He starts asking other hotel guests are you hot? Are you hot? Every time he points to someone, he confuses the musicians, creating an audible mess. Meanwhile, Corey and Tapanga are still in a haze of love. Topanga feels so relaxed she's forgotten about everything else. 00:40:16 Speaker 2: Also, if you notice in the background, so you guys are dancing, and then there's a couple dancing right behind you to the to the left, over your shoulder, and the woman gets bumped into and looks at the guy in her partner. She goes like she wants to kill the guy, Like how And it was just I rewounded three times. It was like this angry, angry, close to violence woman right behind you as you're doing the scene, She's. 00:40:43 Speaker 3: Just like what it was? 00:40:47 Speaker 2: Yeah, the background was gonna ame. I also look like I was piped into that that that tuxedo, like they opened the top and just piped it. It was bad. 00:41:02 Speaker 1: A white texedo doesn't really look good on anybody. F Y Corey agrees, it's so unspoiled. It's as if time has stopped. As they gush about the island. Eric is on the verge of passing out again. To Panga, reminisces about cute thatched huts, and Corey tells her about an old fisherman he saw making a flute out of bamboo read Tapanga also celebrates that there was practically no line at Starbucks nearby. Sweat is now pouring out of Eric and he. 00:41:26 Speaker 3: Looks talking about how there's no conflict, no ConfL. 00:41:31 Speaker 4: Everything's great, there is no problems, there's and like even Eric, like, you're able to get the music that they need, so we need. 00:41:38 Speaker 1: What if this whole episode is commentary on the episode and it's meta, like, look, how bad an episode is? 00:41:51 Speaker 3: How without conflict? 00:41:54 Speaker 1: Yes, what if it's genius. At the same time, Corey has made a decision, that's it, We're staying here. To Pek is excited, Really, we can stay a few more days. Corey nods, we can stay a few more days with no responsibility, no foenie, no crazy Eric on cue. Eric finally crumples to the floor from heat exhaustion, but to Panga and Corey don't notice. They're both focused on staying a few more days. Mccrey takes it even one step further, suggesting let's never go home. To Penga laughs, sure, let's just never go home. But Corey's dead serious. Give me one good reason why we shouldn't stay here. Why should we go home? To Pega responds like she's talking to a toddler, because it's where our home is. But Corey throws his arms in the air. Not if we stay here the rest of our lives to Panga seems disturbed, And then I guess it's a cliffhanger commercial break? 00:42:48 Speaker 2: Yes, what is this act? Break? Like I was, because now he wants to stay and she's like, uh oh, and there you go go. Who doesn't want to just stay wherever they're on vacation? 00:42:59 Speaker 3: That's I know. 00:43:05 Speaker 1: Back in the hotel room, to Pega's packing their bag while Corey simultaneously unpacks it. He's still set on moving to the island, seen in his new huge necklaces, but Topanga needs him to snap back to reality. 00:43:16 Speaker 2: No, wait, I'm sorry. Were they supposed to leave then that day? I know that Why she's all of a sudden packing when they. 00:43:22 Speaker 1: Were also it makes sense now because I was thinking, why is she reminiscing about the thatched roofs when they're still there and like, but I guess it was their last day, so she's going back through all the days of their honeymoon and thinking about all their favorite parts. Okay, Corey can't believe she wants to go back to Philadelphia. You want to spend our youth breathing pollution and having to bow down to the man, and then come back here when we're too old to win to limbo contest? Is that what you want to not win? I think it's funny be Topanga admits that she would like to win, and Corey is happy to hear it. He runs to their blinds and pulls them open to show Topanga the beautiful island they could call home, but instead of a beautiful beach, it's Eric just standing there. Only Tapanga sees him before he darts out of the way and jumps into the pool. Or He continues to sell the island as home, but to Pega has seen a ghost. I think someone was on the balcony. Cory shrugs it off. Who cares? Don't you want to stay? She reminds him that no one stays on vacation forever, but he reminds her the Nelson's do so cha. Panga wants to know how will they make a living? Paradie is expensive? Cory grins, You think I haven't thought about that. You think I'm not a realist. You think I haven't thought of little Cory Junior and Barbara Barbara to Penga corrects him Stephen and Chloe. 00:44:41 Speaker 2: Ah which is her mom's name, right and closed? 00:44:47 Speaker 3: But it was in the original. 00:44:51 Speaker 1: Yes, you're right. 00:44:52 Speaker 2: He was killed in that tragic blimp accident with Nebulas. 00:44:57 Speaker 1: He likes those names too. He jumps back onto the bed and grunts, let's make them. She suggests they make a living first, but Corey and says, do you think I haven't thought of our living situation? You think this is whimsy? It's not whimsy. Then he pulls a big, wrinkly coconut out of a bag and declares, this is our future. Baby. She does have to do with coconut. 00:45:17 Speaker 4: Corey established like it would been so funny if Corey had a plan that was related to his character in somewhere. I don't know what that is, but like, you know, anything that we've established about Corey could could pay off here, and instead it's just. 00:45:30 Speaker 3: A complete non sequitor. He just can carve coconuts. 00:45:33 Speaker 1: I mean he used to carry around a camera. He was into journalism. He could decide he's going to be a photographer for people on the island. I'm going to take pictures of couples on their honeymoon. 00:45:41 Speaker 2: Right right, No, he's a coconut carver and a damn good one, let's be honest. 00:45:47 Speaker 1: Very good. He whispers like a madman. Oh yeah, And then we cut to Corey's celebrity coconut hut. I really did think this was going to be a dream sequts. 00:46:00 Speaker 2: Yes, I thought the whole episode was a dream sequence. But yes, And can we also just have a very quick nod to Ben's tiny little man nipples because he has very small nipples. Ben, there are these tiny little man nipples. It's amazing. 00:46:20 Speaker 1: I don't think we comment on things such as this. 00:46:23 Speaker 2: Oh well I did, because they're the distractingly small. Ben is so fit, he's fit, He's in really great shape. 00:46:36 Speaker 1: It's somewhere in here in the celebrity coconut hut that I realize my belly button ring is just of just showing for everybody in all my crop, in all my crop tops and I thought, why was that why? I guess maybe I wanted to wear a crop top, but why why was somebody like I don't think Tapega would have a belly button ring. 00:47:00 Speaker 2: I don't know. It's also I have to be honest with you too. From the beginning, you walking out in the lingerie, then under the covers, then on the island. The whole time. The idea that three or four episodes from now we do an episode about you being heavy is insane to me. Correct insane to me because it's not that far away, and it's like, it's like, really, this is what it was I thought about. I'm like, how is that possible that in the next like four or five episodes we're going to do one about us being fat? Like I get me, yep, because I put no, no, no, but I may not be huge, but I put on a significant amount of weight compared to what I looked like before, whereas you did not. And the idea of seeing that what I like you again, you walked out and laingderie, you did all stuffs, Like, how is that going to be an episode? How are they going to do that in the next couple couple of weeks? It was crazy. 00:47:50 Speaker 1: We'll find out. Corey is surrounded by coconuts in the shapes of celebrity faces. He holds up David Letterman and we see a crowd has gathered around him. He harshly shouted hello and grabs a jay Leno to do his best impression. He then calls David Letterman, Edgy and jay Leno not and their guest this week is in his accent, Arnold Schwarzenegger. Hello, how are you doing? I'm the Cocoonator. The crowd loves it, and this is just the most Ben Ben could possibly. 00:48:21 Speaker 2: Be trying so hard to He's just laughing. Is he trying? He's trying, God bless him. 00:48:27 Speaker 1: Yep, yep, he's doing his best. As Corey thanks his admirers to Panga rushes towards him carrying a bunch of shopping bags. We are a total success overnight. I took out a bank account at Katanka Savings alone, I took out an ad in the Katanka Times, and I still had time to catch this fish. What Corey beams, Ah, what a woman, he continues, Just think all that time with Phoene wasted when my real success was right here, because I am He turns back to his line of customers and announces the coconut gut. A man in a crown with a camera points to Topanga, Hey, you're the wife of the coconut guy. To Panga beams, yes, I am. Cory and Tapega pose for a picture. When Madeline appears, Corey is excited to see her. What can I carve up for you? Madeline surprised to see them in the hut, Corey admits, we've decided to stay here like you guys. You convinced us. To Panga whispers, I bought this entire outfit for three bananas. That convinced me. 00:49:26 Speaker 4: Get it, because no, they're taking advantage of the locals. 00:49:30 Speaker 3: So you get to live like a queen here. 00:49:33 Speaker 2: And there's a star Bus. She loves to shop, but there's a Starbucks, and you pay for Starbucks with bananas. 00:49:42 Speaker 1: I don't know. 00:49:46 Speaker 2: People cannot come after us for this one. I get people having opinions about some of the episodes we don't like, and I completely and totally understand and respect that. I can't imagine there's a person in the world who's like, you know, the best episode of Women's World, The Honey, Yeah, yeah, the best episode done. 00:50:02 Speaker 1: Definitely, do not think there's anyone who says this is the best. I think that's a safe bet. 00:50:07 Speaker 2: Yep right, okay, good. Yeah. 00:50:10 Speaker 1: Then Corey realizes I'm out of Puka. Shell's wife, Topanga, could you run to the Shell station? She lets out a laugh. You're funnier in Paradise. She walks away, and mister Nelson approaches the stand and Madeline tells him the good news. The Matthews are staying on the island too. Mister Nelson welcomes Corey to Paradise and reaches out to shake Corey's hand, but Corey does a shaka instead Mukatoka baby, and mister Nelson happily does it right back. Corey asks the couple what they'd like him to carve, reaches Philbin his lovely wife Joy. Mister Nelson requests a soccer player and pulls out a note they received from their grandson Joey. Madeline gasps the Mighty Gophers made the playoffs. Mister Nelson complains, eight years we watch that kid stink up the field and the minute we leave he's peley. 00:50:55 Speaker 2: Can I ask why? Because they talk about making a phone call, why did the kid write them a letter to say? 00:51:02 Speaker 1: I just was going to say the same thing because they say, let's go call him. 00:51:05 Speaker 2: Yeah, let's go call him when he wrote us a letter, wouldn't you know, especially with the Kataka Post Office the way that it is. I mean, that championship is bananas. 00:51:14 Speaker 1: Do you have to smear on your envelope to mail that letter? 00:51:17 Speaker 2: You know? 00:51:18 Speaker 4: Well how old is the letter too? He must have sent it, like you know, I know, four days ago. 00:51:23 Speaker 2: That's what I'm saying. Yeah, our team made it. Stop, we are good. Stop going to the championship stop. 00:51:31 Speaker 1: The couple decided to go call their grandson and wish him luck. As they leave, Corey realizes he forgot to have to Pega pick up some of those googly eyes. He flips his open sign around to reveal gone to get googly eyes ory leaves and we see the line of celebrity coconuts. 00:51:47 Speaker 2: None of the coconuts have googly eyes. 00:51:49 Speaker 4: No, all it would take is just absolutely google eyes on the coconuts, not one of them. 00:51:57 Speaker 1: We see the line of celebrity cocaine that's inside the booth. Howard Stern, Elvis, Richard Nixon, and Eric he's tanned to cocinut brown color and glued coconut husks to his face. He's even wearing buck teeth. But now into his. 00:52:16 Speaker 3: Table is not covered. You can see that you. 00:52:21 Speaker 4: Were kneeling behind the table, Like, I love Rusty. You're directing this, and you don't think just put a cover on the table. 00:52:30 Speaker 2: So actually ahead, but I have this to hammer, that's why. 00:52:35 Speaker 1: But you could put the tablecloth just in front. 00:52:37 Speaker 4: Of the tablecloth in front of you, so it looks like you are. Like the couple walks up and it's like there's one talking to me. I'm like, you know, you can see the guy kneeling through the table. It's like everybody was so lazy they just gave up. They were like this this episode is so dumb. We're not gonna even worry about visual logic. 00:52:57 Speaker 2: Like it's so bad. 00:52:58 Speaker 3: It's so bad. 00:52:59 Speaker 4: We're gonna spend what at least forty five minutes putting will in makeup. 00:53:04 Speaker 3: But we're not going to put a tablecloth on the table. Guys, what happened? 00:53:11 Speaker 2: It's I think you're right. We all just get Yeah, there's I mean, you could just see you kneeling there. It's I don't know. 00:53:20 Speaker 1: Oh that is kind of what I remember about this week is just going. 00:53:23 Speaker 2: Oh, okay, good enough episode. 00:53:25 Speaker 5: Oh well, oh my gosh. 00:53:42 Speaker 1: So Eric lisps into his recorder honeymoon day six, when they decided to live here. I thought the newlyweds had caught a bad case of island fever, but it turns out they've adjusted well, and I don't really know what to do. One of the shoppers notices Eric and gasps to her husband Eric. 00:53:57 Speaker 2: Either like, what what do you like? Have met Lawrence? Follow? 00:54:01 Speaker 4: You have Jack follow him to try and stop him? So but in cead he doesn't even have anybody to talk to. Is they have to create this tap recorder just so you can. 00:54:09 Speaker 2: Exp who's the tape for? I'm curious, is it for Eric to listen back to later? Is hen giving this to somebody? 00:54:17 Speaker 4: But what is your mission? Your mission was to make their honeymoon good, right, right? And conflict You're literally there to reduce conflict. 00:54:27 Speaker 3: There's no story. 00:54:28 Speaker 1: It's so. 00:54:30 Speaker 2: Much, but it's also so They were supposed to leave on day three of their honeymoon. 00:54:37 Speaker 1: I would imagine they okay, size. 00:54:39 Speaker 2: Then he rebuilt the entire coconut hut, which in the beginning, if you saw was was behind them and empty and like broken and busted up, so that in a day they bought the coconut thing. He carved twenty coconuts for the first day and then made a made a Google eyes overnight. 00:55:00 Speaker 1: We're successful. 00:55:02 Speaker 2: And are you living at the resort? 00:55:05 Speaker 3: Uh huh, yes, you stay in the hotel. 00:55:08 Speaker 2: All right, Well, now it makes sense. 00:55:11 Speaker 1: One of the shoppers says, look, IRV, this one talks. Eric whispers oh no, and tries to stay still. Irv argues, coconuts don't talk, Gladys, but she insists she heard him. So Irv, as one would, challenges his wife to smash the coconut open with a hammer. It's a totally logical next. 00:55:32 Speaker 4: Day, so you have the hammer right there, Yeah, and you can see the guy neely behind the table. 00:55:37 Speaker 2: I'm sorry, I'd like to throw out, what else are you supposed to do? Okay? No hammer? Hammer, stabbing the eye with a fishing knife, like, yeah, it's what the hell's happening. 00:55:52 Speaker 1: So Gladys approaches the coconut with the hammer until Eric springs up and snatches it from her. How about I smash you open with a hammer. The couple runs away, screaming in horror. Eric asks Coconut Elvis Presley, you believe that. A week later on the island, Corey and Tapanga are setting up for another day of success at the hut. Corey greets another local worker, Good morning for Dukie. He then notices his female doppelganger, Good morning, Bavuki. She swats a lizard off of a bar. Then Corey sees another man, Good morning Uki. The man grins, oh, Corey, missus Corey, you too are the talk of the island. To Panga hopes it's all good, and he assures her it's very good. Faduki and Bavuki agree, very good, very good. 00:56:42 Speaker 2: Okay, here's the point of this entire scene. Now, like I don't like. 00:56:49 Speaker 4: So Corey and to Panga are getting along well, and now it's just make fun of native people. 00:56:55 Speaker 1: Being native people's names and I guess. 00:56:59 Speaker 3: Name yes, and civilization crumbling. 00:57:02 Speaker 1: Okay. Uki tells them, we think you are Katanka's favorite fun couple. We're very impressed with how quickly you've acclimated to our customs. Corey admits, I'm still having trouble using soup as deodorant. 00:57:17 Speaker 3: Super soap. What does he say? 00:57:19 Speaker 2: He's a soup? And again my head instantly went to what lines did they not want to use because that's the pitch that worked. So it's like, what was the winner soup as deodorant? 00:57:35 Speaker 1: Yeah, Uki continues, we have an election for mayor coming up, and we'd really like you to consider running for office representing our Muki Timbala party. To Penga wonders who's the other party, Uki matter of factly responds communists the other Uki's spit on the floor in disgust. Ki he explains, this is the most important election since our people moved here from Ohio. Corey can't believe it. They want me to be mayor of Paradise. Then mister and missus Nelson reappear, now wearing their normal street clothes and carrying suitcases. Corey tells them the good news he's going to be mayor m Coconut. He asks Frank to be his campaign manager. Corey whispers to Panga, they'll bring in the old vote like it was early bird dinner at Lawaca's. But the Nelsons have bad news. They're leaving. Cory and Topanga don't understand the Nelson's proudly announced that Joey's soccer team made it to the finals. So did the did the Nelsons never contemplate the that their grandchildren were going to have a future? 00:58:42 Speaker 2: No, they also have one bag between the three of the the two of them for the entire time they're still there. He's got he's got a bag over his shoulder and he's holding that just has. 00:58:52 Speaker 1: All their gold in it. That just has all their gold in it. The other bags are at bell Hop. 00:58:56 Speaker 2: Okay, good, fair enough. 00:58:57 Speaker 1: Yeah, Madeline reveals, So I'm going to sit and be cold in the car. Frank laughs, how could we miss it? To Penga wonders, but you guys are coming back after the game, right, Madeline and Frank share a look and simply say goodbye. Frank wishes them a nice life, and Corey wonders, how could we not? We're in paradise. Then sneaky music plays again and we see Eric sitting nearby wearing a new vacation ready disguise. He records into his tape player Honeymoon Day twelve. But as he's talking, no one warned me, Oh really, Oh yeah, no one warned me. 00:59:31 Speaker 2: I'll freak you out even more because you couldn't feel it. You literally couldn't feel this thing on you at pretty serious all you could. I had several on me, and you could not feel it, and you weren't creeped out at all, Like you just didn't. Spiders don't bother me, and I frankly kind of love spiders because they eat and kill a bunch of other bugs that's worse. So yeah, it doesn't didn't bother me at all. 00:59:53 Speaker 3: So what did they do? 00:59:54 Speaker 4: Do you? 00:59:54 Speaker 3: How do you do? 00:59:55 Speaker 2: You? Like? 00:59:55 Speaker 4: Put some like something that attracts a spider to stay the just put. 00:59:59 Speaker 2: It on my hand and thing just started walking and they did that a couple times. Yeah, no, it doesn't. The thing that freaked me out the most was like, as I remember walking away, going like I could be covered in spiders right now and I'd never know it because he just couldn't feel it. 01:00:10 Speaker 1: It was weird to me, not me, I feel, I feel for sure. 01:00:15 Speaker 3: You'd have the spidy sense. 01:00:18 Speaker 1: As he is talking, that tarantula crawls up his hand. I this must this must be the moment that I blocked this episode out of my entire memory because I like, there's no way what. 01:00:31 Speaker 2: Would you do? What would you do? I'm curious if you got the role of a lifetime whatever it is, whatever you wanted, and in one scene you had to have two or three tarantulas crawling on you. 01:00:40 Speaker 1: I would never do it. 01:00:41 Speaker 2: And it's a crux of the film. They're offering you ten million dollars. It's a star maker. You also get to direct whatever you want to do. You just have to have a spider crawling on you. You can't do it. Daniel, didn't you have a show. Didn't you have a show recently that said they might have a spider? Well? 01:00:54 Speaker 1: I had to direct an episode of Just Roll with It where the audience it was that kid improv show on Disney Channel, and the audience got to pick between three things that could happen at the end of certain scenes. And in one when I had the director meeting, they were like, do you have any fears? And I had to decide in that moment if I tell them about my tarantula fear, or if I thought they were asking me because they were going to specifically do something, or what if I say I have a fear and then they're like, well, there is going to be a spider in the episode and then I don't get the job. So I had all those thoughts running in my head and I just decided to say no. I didn't have any fears, and I thought, what are the odds They've already done a bunch of episodes. I'm only doing one episode. What are the odds there will be a tarantula in my episode? There was a tarantula in my episode, and I had to ask my associate director if she could direct. The audience picked it. It was one of the three choices. The audience picked the director the tarantula one and I had to turn away from the camera and I said, can you just direct? Just pick the shot. 01:01:54 Speaker 2: So no amount of money in the world to have tarantulas on you, fifty million dollars and you just got two translas on you. 01:02:01 Speaker 1: Absolutely not. No, I would not. I you know what, I might spend five minutes thinking about it, and I would still decide. Now, for fifty million dollars, I might, I might think about it, but I think I would still have to decide now, Okay, I oh no, I I was literally just thinking about it right now. I'd be like, okay, what would I do? Would I close my eyes. 01:02:21 Speaker 2: No, absolutely not. 01:02:27 Speaker 1: No, I'd open only fans before I before I I mean I would here's I would literally do anything else. 01:02:39 Speaker 2: Oh my god, that's so funny. 01:02:44 Speaker 1: Oh man. So Eric wonders how he can help Corey and Tapanga and then glances at the spider. What do you think, mister bird? Eric winces in pain, bird bit me because words begin to slur left side paralyzed possible bad sign, then falls to the floor yet again, and then wrap the coconut hut. That night, Corey is asleep at his work table when Tapega walks in and tries to wake him up. As his eyes open, she explains, you've been here all night. Come to bed. She grins, you used to like that. Corey explains, sorry, I was just finishing the soccer player for the Nelsons. Pega takes a closer look. 01:03:21 Speaker 3: Didn't the Nelsons leave? Yeah, they said goodbye for you have a greater life. 01:03:25 Speaker 2: Uh huh. 01:03:26 Speaker 1: Yeah, He's gonna mail it to him. This is Sean. Sure enough, it does kind of look like Sean. 01:03:33 Speaker 3: I wonder how they made these coconuts. What are they like? 01:03:37 Speaker 2: Well, they went to the actual coconut guy. 01:03:39 Speaker 1: They went to Katanka, it's exactly. Cory denies it, but then he can't come up with an alternative. He admits it is Sean. Why would he carve Sean? In fact, he doesn't even remember doing it. Topega notices another nearby coconut. Who's this supposed to be. Corey stammers, that's a captain crunch, but to Pega turns it around and no doubt about it, it's a bespectacled mister Feenie. Topeka asks why he'd stay up all night making these faces. Corey says he doesn't know. He doesn't really remember making the Feoenie one either, So there still isn't any conflicts no for Corey and Topanga. 01:04:17 Speaker 3: No, because he could just keep going by the way. 01:04:20 Speaker 1: He misses his family. But we reveal in just a little bit that it's Eric who did the carvings, and he's saying he doesn't remember doing it. So even the idea that Corey and Pega go home because they miss their family was only implanted in their mind to buy Eric. 01:04:35 Speaker 2: They also make it seem like it's really easy to carve these perfect figures, to where anybody can just perfectly carve a Feenie and a Sean like, oh, Eric will take care of it now, it's the weirdest thing. 01:04:49 Speaker 1: Topeka admits I miss them too. Soft music plays, and Corey notices it's hot here all of a sudden, isn't it to Pega agrees, yeah, it's hot. And then we're at the Math House in Philadelphia. Alan and Amy, Sean and Angela, Morgan and mister Feenie are gathered in the living room when Corey and Tapanga walk through the door with huge smiles on their faces. Alan is wearing extremely out of character baggy Tobby Hill figure jeans. 01:05:16 Speaker 2: I didn't even notice that, yes, Rusty. 01:05:20 Speaker 1: Everyone stands up to greet the newlyweds, and Alan asks how the trip was. Tapanka says it was incredible, and Corey admits they almost didn't come home. Morgan asks her brother what he brought her, and he unapologetically answers nothing. Then feene warmly welcomes home mister and missus Matthews, I expect to see you in class tomorrow. Making up twelve days of lectures will be no easy task, especially the way I teach many nuances, you know. Amy pulls in Corey and to Panga for a group hug. You'll never know how much we missed you. Then Morgan interrupts once again, come on, what did you bring me? And Corey reriterates nothing. Now at Sean and Angela's turn to welcome back their best friends, and it's so funny to me, it looks like Trina was standing back to back with you. She's got her back to you and her arms are crossed. 01:06:03 Speaker 4: It was like walking into the scene is so weird horrible because like Morgan is like turns to join Corey and to Panga, yeah, and then talked upstage. 01:06:13 Speaker 3: To you guys. 01:06:13 Speaker 2: It's it's so weird, and you're right, very weird, barely saying your lines. It's like it's like you are just you're making the sounds. But that's it. 01:06:22 Speaker 3: God. 01:06:23 Speaker 2: Yeah. 01:06:24 Speaker 1: Sean asks, how was the honeymoon? Did you ever leave the room? Topega answers, we left, and then Corey ads, but then we came back. Sean wonders what did it look like? And Corey says, I have no idea. Topenga reveals it was beautiful. Angela begs to hear more into Panga obliges, Right about now, we'd be sitting with our feet in the sand and watching the sunset. Corey ads having dinner between these two gorgeous little palm trees, staring out at the ocean. Sean thinks it sounds like paradise. Cory and Tapega glance around the room and their family, and Corey admits almost. And then there's a tag or back in Katanka can pretend right now, he's sweating profusely recording another diary entry. Didn't even have to finish the coconuts of Mom, Dad, Me, and Morgan for Corey and to Panga to realize where paradise really is good for them. For me, paradise is a place I've found the best part of being the best man. Steam rises around him, and the camera pulls out to reveal he's sitting in a giant pot. The Oogies excitedly gather around him, starving healing a carrot into the erics too. Eric looks around. Ten more minutes. Man, he snatches a carrot to snack on. And that is our episode. 01:07:42 Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, by far the worst episode. 01:07:45 Speaker 2: Yeah, it happens. There's there's there's every Every show in the history of television has a honeymoon episode, has has one of those episodes. That's just the worst episode and it's just bad. And we all probably knew it. We knew it was bad as we were shooting it. I mean, it was just yeah, it was bad. 01:08:01 Speaker 1: Yeah, this is bad. It's just it's a bad episode. 01:08:05 Speaker 2: Yeah it happens. Oh, well, then the next one will be better. Hey, when you're on your back, the only way to look is up. 01:08:12 Speaker 1: What a perfect thing to say for the honeymoon episode.
