would have got the money out the community.

your mindset, because my whole mindset was like, I'm going

I'm like, man, I'm trying to go to the league.
I'm gonna have no fun in the league. So if
we would have been getting paid back then it would

Because I already made it that most people it would
have been over for me.

get this for the next four years.

draft no never, none of my four years, so it's
like I had to keep But if I would have
been getting like a seven fifty or something, I would

go to the league. My home every day trying to

think I was going to go right away, you know
what I'm saying. I didn't even start my freshman year, Like,
I came off the bench till like the once we
went to the tournament, I started playing more and more.
And then my sophomore year we had a real good team.
We was number on the country that year. Yeah, so
that's when the scouts started coming to practice and ship. Okay,
I'm lit, but I had a good miss ship. I
set up with Sweden College. I wasn't trying to lead
too fast, you know what I'm saying. I was trying
to get drafted. That was my main thing. Like I
thought I could work up the draft boards, but that
shit don't work like that.
Na, Like you said, I had a with Well Clanny
was there? Yeah, Ron Baby, Yeah, Ron Baker. I had
a week. I had pros on that team.
Yeah, we had a good ass team, bro.
But I think I had a good coach too, and
I was just because, like we got a lot of
young guys on our team. Now, like a lot of
the kids that's come to the NBA now, they don't
know how to play dawn. So like I was just
happy that I had a good coach and who taught
me how to play.
So by the time I got to the league, I
kind of you know what I'm saying, transitions here. I
had a good foundation to go off of that helped
me a lot.

Spital coach, like I'm having to teach stuff that we
should learn the elementary school now that kids they're not kids,
but against the NBA and having to learn how to
pick a rollan shit.
They learned their game backwards. Now, Ship, you do you

like a certain age, like you can't shoot by the
time you eighteen, you probably cooked. You know, you ain't
how it is some fixed eight and just so gifted

to add it. I expect of the job. If you
can't shoot by eighteen and you got to be six eight.

to come in the gym and be able to see
your superpower immediate, like he can shoot.
Shooting the most important thing to get somebody into the

what it is. Just like you gotta be a freaking

the better your chance is going to be. Because that's

you just have more of a disadvantage, so your other
ship gotta be off the rule.
Never got to be a superior athlete much better.

the one thing I always appreciated about your game, even
being a smaller guard, Like I wasn't a defender at all,
but you was actually known for your defense.
So when you came in the league, I was like this,

And then he started scoring.
Always been a good shooter, but then he started to
adding more and more to his game, but he was
known for defense. Like when I watched you in the finals,
guard and stuff, Yeah he really guarding stuff, Like he's

and then the offense came later.
I was just about to ask you that, like when
you transitioned from college to going to the NBA, what
was that like, bro? Man, it was cool.
It was hard because I was trying to make it
like I was trying to find some security, you know,
from being undrafted, yeah, not having a guaranteed contract. I
was just trying to get like some security like a
year or two then I could work on my game.
So that first part was tough.
And then once I realized, like I wasn't playing, I
was just enjoying it, you.
Know what I'm saying. I'm in the league. I'm chilling.
I mean skittles on the bench, like I'm just watching
this show. You know.
That's how I go and there, Like when you don't
have no chance of playing, you really just chilling, traveling
and you outside for sure.
So I did that.
But I worked on my game every day and I
studied every day, you know what I'm saying, And I
just stuck close to the vest that I had.
And so that was like that first initial transition.
And then once I started playing, then I built it
a little bit, you know, more from there.
But at first I was just happy to be here.
I'm still happy to be here, but I was just
super happy to be in the league at that point.

How you got to the NBA and came grinding like
major way in the situation, very admirable. But it's funny
now you went to the G League and made the
most of it and got back in the league. Now
you got people in the G League trying to go
back to college.
Like that is crazy, Like, yeah, I'm.
