Speaker 2: I got way too much thy going on me. Let me see that white meat over there? Who's this guy with the bulletproof legs in the studio? I regret these shorts. Your fluorescent upper man thigh. Yeah, by the way, it's not even that hot. Why are you wearing like little girl shorts? Man, it's shorts. I think you got mix.

00:01:23
Speaker 1: Now this is my uniform. I'm wearing the White Sox nineteen seventies alternate uniform. Short your thighs. Those short shorts are for little weenie boys, So you know what canre for little gen z weeniels. You're like a grown man with like muscular man thighs. They look too short on you. Could I give everyone a piece of advice before you get into today's Fox Sports radio show. When you got muscular legs looks odd. If you're a grown man, you have options. There's five, seven or nine in short. At the least you gotta go seven. Nine is like old guy shorts.

00:01:54
Speaker 3: Chandler.

00:01:55
Speaker 2: Yeah, if you don't want to be the sha yes, he stripe, I'm gonna come back. Baggy clothes are bad, I know, but I don't know. I feel like you look like the shandman playing basketball. I go nine, seven to nine. Now you gotta go summer nine. I'm like, yeah, I don't care. Jim shorts.

00:02:09
Speaker 1: They're new nine. Anything over the knee is uncivilized. You're just a sandman. You're Sandler. This guy has they're like three and a half inch shorts. I see you're right. I see some hang down, bro, they're too shorts. My wife ordered me jim shorts because I said, Babe, from where baby gap? I said to her, you know, some of my old gym shorts are so old label. The label says Oshkosh Bro.

00:02:37
Speaker 3: I mean these are the stand up for our YouTube channel. Rich.

Speaker 1: So it's Friday holiday weekend. You got your final four some great Baseball, Deontay Wilder fighting Todnight, and later at the end of the show, we're gonna tell you what you need to watch during the weekend. Weekend hobnob and so I know there's a lot of Easter eggs and egg hunts and you're gonna be hanging with your peeps, lots of family time. But we're gonna tell you what you need to make time for later today. Plus we play Brainwave giveaway some prizes. The game that sweeping the nation more reason to watch us on YouTube is a very interactive game at Covino and rich FSR. I'll promise to keep my legs onto the console. Trip just hit us up in Vegas and he said I had to go from YouTube to the iHeart app after I saw your legs. Oh yeah, man, their offense. My apologies. Yo. Let's let's get the show going. We're gonna talk some NFL today. There's a story of a race comment, but it's not I mean, according to you. Well listen, we're gonna get a little controversial. Plus well, like you said, Brainwave talks on NFL. But This is a story in Major League Baseball that has let's to deal about baseball and more to do with something I don't believe in. I don't believe in oversleeping. What does that mean? What not believing? But what does that mean? I don't get it? Well, what about when you're tired? How about that? How's that for a comeback? What about when you're really tired? It's all what do you mean? If you slept, you know, two hours the night before, it is a good chance you might oversleep the next day. You don't believe in that.

00:05:37
Speaker 3: Let's define this.

00:05:37
Speaker 2: Are you talking about oversleeping like I overslept my alarm? Or you slept so much you feel groggy?

00:05:42
Speaker 1: All right? There's a story out of Kansas City where a Royals rookie catcher, Carter Jensen, was benched for oversleeping. Now, the problem is that not only did he let his teammates down because he got benched, he didn't give veteran We talked about him yesterday. One Jersey is whole life. Salvador Perez Sally Prez couldn't get his day off, He couldn't dh because based on principle, they had to bench this kid for showing up. What they're saying is pretty close to game time. Didn't show up that much before the game, and people were saying, ah, they let him off easy, like his teammates are getting his back leg Listen learning, you know, it's a it's a learning thing, right, I mean, it's the big leagues, dude. Like, there's certain jobs you can't be late for, and I really think that radio is one of them. It's not that we're doing brain surgery here. It's not rocket science. But you know, there is a service and a courtesy involved. You have a shift, Like if you're on time, you're late. You gotta be early. You got to be at least an hour early, at the very minutem a half hour early if you're on the air, Like you can't be late for your own shift. And I think the same applies for I don't know, professional athlete. You got fighter five thousand people showing up to see you play, and a guy's counting on you to show up so he has the day off. It's disrespect of the highest regard. You know why, because I feel like it's it's very selfish and it's sort of a power move. It's like everyone's waiting around for you. You could count. I want to say, one hand, a few hands, baby, how many jobs you really do need to be there on time? Because hey, if you work at an office, hey, you know, I hit some traffic. I'll be there. I'll be there at nine oh eight. If you're eight minutes late, hey sorry, boss. You know, bring someone to coffee, bring some donuts, and everyone everyone's happy. Radio is one of those things like when we're done, guess who's up next? Our buddy Rob Parker and Kelvin. If they're not here, then what's on the air? Exactly? If you're not at the stadium, who takes the field? Like? There are certain jobs I lost Sam Tell's jokes. Yeah, I'm not saying they're important.

00:07:45
Speaker 5: I was.

00:07:46
Speaker 1: Sam's like, oh there's a rabbi, a priest. They walk go apart, you see. Think about that. Think about that for a minute. I'm not saying what we do is important. But if we're like, all right, I don't read it dirt you baby, see you in the promise land, Rob Parker and Kevin watched Odd Couples next. Then they're not here.

00:08:00
Speaker 3: Actually, though, Cove, you know it is important. We got FEMA passes during COVID. Oh yeah, yeah, because we you know, trigger the uh the maas alarm. If there's a major disasters.

00:08:10
Speaker 1: They'll make us on important Deddy.

00:08:12
Speaker 3: You know, I like it.

00:08:13
Speaker 1: You know, we say it's a service. People count on you and and rely on you even to get them from point A to point B or to kill some time. So what would happen Danny g and Iowa Sam do some some stand up if we wanted to be great team players, which and I would have to stick around. But you know we do have we have to pick our kids up, you know, so these things do matter. I remember one time we filled in for Dan Patrick and it was a vacation week, like a holiday week. So when we were done, Doug Gottlieb was filling in for Colin. I remember Doug. I remember Doug Gottlieb. I can't get my stuff working and he couldn't figure it out, and we stuck round for I get extra forty minutes. And I'm thinking, what if we were like, no, I gotta go, dude, we might be the only host in history to fill in for Dan Patrick and Colin on the same day.

00:09:00
Speaker 3: Right, But you want to walk you down, you walk down the hall and suddenly we were on the call in show.

00:09:05
Speaker 1: Yeah, dude, that's so true. I forgot about that. But in his defense, he was having technical errors. But you know, looking back now, it could happen to anybody. I'm not going to say anything could happen to me and you.

00:09:18
Speaker 3: Yeah, so yeah, don't make Gottlieb throw a chair.

00:09:21
Speaker 1: Yeah, some dude named Doug Rich is saying he doesn't believe in oversleep. Well I say that because he's a young man. And listen, you can't question his work ethic. He did to me that ADD stuff. He made it to the big leagues. We let's play add theory that ADD. They have a real issue with time management. If you have if you really suffer, people claim they have ADD and people say they have ADD, but people who really have issues with ADD that high definition adhd yes say that time management is a real issue for them. So before they know it, like being on time is very difficult. Remember we talked about that. I I try, I try not to be late to dinners and events and stuff like that, because you know it is. It is rude behavior when you're when you're late and you have someone else waiting at a restaurant at a party. It's a power heyll meet for coffee at two o'clock for a little meeting. I'm rong late though, they'll be there at two twenty.

00:10:22
Speaker 2: You want to get out of it rich, like you want to give yourself an excuse when you get there.

00:10:25
Speaker 3: I'm sorry.

00:10:26
Speaker 2: I was running on Island time month. Yeah, you're like Island times. There was a good fifteen minute buffer there.

00:10:31
Speaker 1: Yeah, but we're not unless we're in Manhattan. You were in Los Angeles. Where are you in a to me? What island?

00:10:35
Speaker 3: Are you on?

00:10:36
Speaker 1: Penn Island? This guy you wan penn Island? Get it? Penn Island? Pen? Yes? Yes, So look the story is he's saying he overslept. Is that a vowed excuse for a I get it. He's a young man, but he's still a professional. There's an expectation. I guess what I was saying to you guys is that you guys can understand what I said when I said I don't believe in it, meaning it could happen. But to me, anytime someone says they overslept, I think what they're really saying is I made a mistake, meaning like I forgot I set am instead of PM, or PM instead of am. My phone died or fell asleep without or like I woke up, hit snooze, and then I irresponsibly said, let me go back to sleep for five minutes and and blew it because guess what, Alarms don't break. Phones don't not just go off like you could see. It's though it's user error. I guarantee there's no way your phone alarm goes off and you just keep sleeping. Daughter does it every day, bro, I don't agree with you, all right. Let me make this clear. Rich is saying he doesn't believe in it. I'm telling you straight up, I disagree with him one hundred and twenty percent. If that's such a thing, and it's not, I don't think they have the highest level. If it's at the highest possible level, I want the world to know I don't agree with this, bozo, not even for a second. You absolutely could oversleep. I do it all the time. My daughter does it every day. If I don't wake her up, she's not waking up, and that alarm is just going off and off and off. You know why she's on the phone with teenage boys up until the wee hours of the night, so she sleeps and over sleeps through the morning. What do you mean you don't get it. I'm just saying I don't think full of maloney.

00:12:09
Speaker 2: I don't think they should come down hard on this kid's I think they absolutely.

00:12:13
Speaker 1: Should so that way he doesn't do it again. How that backup alarm? Tell his girlfriend a wake his ass song. You know, he should have people on standby. He's a professional athlete, that's the dream job. He should be the first guy there, especially being a young player, first guy there carrying Salvador Prez's equipment because of this move. And I don't believe in hazing. I don't believe in bullying, but this is something that he needs to pay the price for. He's in the big leagues. He's playing like a minor leaguer. He's not a baby boy. I don't agree with you at all. Let's make that clear on anything. Apparently no on this. Do you hear what Rich's saying? Please Fox Sports Radio Nation help me out Rich four inch Davis because he's wearing little tiny baby shorts. I don't like that nickname. It's about the shorts. Fan. I'm not a fan of that nickname. It's the sure so uh, it's saying he doesn't believe in oversleeping. I don't even He's also the same guy that says he doesn't believe in carbon dating, so I don't believe or understand what he's even talking about. What I'm saying is this dude, Carter Jensen. Yeah, I get it.

00:13:14
Speaker 6: I like that.

00:13:15
Speaker 1: The manager said your bench this game, but I think they gave him a what that's a one time pass, Like, don't let it happen again, kid. Apparently he's a real good young player, like everyone loves this kid. Mistakes, mistakes happen, but now that that can't happen again. My point is, anytime someone tells you they overslept, just know that it's BS, because it's not. What are you talking about? Has anyone on we got one, two, three, four, five people in the studio pet never overtopping? No one's ever. I think he's the only guy that claims to have never oversle Mike Whru' plays of grease. We all have internal biological clocks, we all have like a system. But there are times where your body says, nah, I need rest, and you oversleep, and you can sleep through that alarm happens.

00:14:00
Speaker 3: Mike runs this place, so he waltzes in whenever he feels like it. That's why he's never been late. Mike also wakes up with the roosters. I mean they start getting.

00:14:09
Speaker 1: Older, you get the bear he hibernates.

00:14:12
Speaker 3: So the older you get, the earlier you rise.

00:14:14
Speaker 1: My point is this, and I'll make it clear. Let me finish. If someone says to you, oh, I missed my flight, or sorry I was late for work. Sorry I missed the meeting. Oh my kids were late for school. Oh we overslept, it's a BS answer because it means nothing. It's fake. What if your phone dies and you have an alarm set on your thing? You don't charge your Phone's saying separator, everything happens, Sam, I said everything when.

00:14:40
Speaker 3: Someone goes your fault if you didn't charge your phone, right, let me finish.

00:14:43
Speaker 1: Sorry. My point is everything that ties back to I overslept isn't necessarily overslept. It's operator error. My phone died, My phone died. Oh I set six pm instead of six am. You made a mistake. I know you really hung high strung and hyper, but do you ever get just tired? Maybe so you oversleep knowing you maybe oversleep when you're hungover because you drank to message.

00:15:04
Speaker 2: I'm gonna say you miss a flight, a five am flight because you're home hungover and you're like in a different state of mind while you're asleep.

00:15:11
Speaker 1: I port's dressed down and your body needs rest. You're feeling under the weather, so you overslept a little bit.

00:15:16
Speaker 2: And get this, how does that not happen high schoolers like teenagers. You know, when you're a little kid, you'll wake up really early naturally when your brain changes. When you're in high school, you're a teenager, and they sleep really hard and they want to sleep like twelve hours like that's part of the growing kiss.

00:15:29
Speaker 3: Yeah.

00:15:29
Speaker 1: No, I agree, And I'm not saying that it's a valid excuse. I'm just saying that, Yeah, I think it happens absolutely. Rich just saying that oversleeping is he doesn't believe in it, so it's one hundred percent operator er. I disagree. I think it's probably you know, sixty forty sixty percent of the time is probably operator error. I've ever missed a Dan Patrick filling or an early morning flight. You're also a guy that springs out of his bed into his socks, you know, very hyper and high alert at all times. I could sleep through an alarm, I really can. I could sleep right through it.

00:16:07
Speaker 2: Riches like the character from played by Christoph Lloyd in My Favorite Martian where he only needs to sleep like twenty seconds in a night and he's like, I'm ready, I'm.

00:16:15
Speaker 1: Refreshed and again. Carter Jensen of the Royals was late to the game, costing Salvador pres his day off and he suspended one game. Or he's sitting one day, he's suspended, he's just sitting one game. He got benched it and it was a little hey man, don't happen again. His teammates say, mistakes happen. It's not the biggest story, but it was a headline and it got me thinking that I don't believe in oversleeping. And you guys all question me, like, what do you mean you don't believe in it? And I said, anytime you hear the phrase over sleeping, it's always human error. Alarm clocks don't break. Phones die if you forget to plug him in. If you drink too much of you're high and you sleep through it. Oh miss the smoke too much. I had wont too many whiskeys. That's on you. It's all human error.

00:17:03
Speaker 2: Have you ever slept so hard though where you're like, I slept so hard? I felt like I was like I was dead.

00:17:08
Speaker 1: You know, my alarm has woken me up and I hit snooze, and that mistake you jump up like ten minutes later, Oh my god, like I almost went back to bed. But that again is human error. I think technically Rich is correct, but no way he actually convinced you. I congratulate you for convincing this dummy.

00:17:30
Speaker 3: You're making convincing arguments.

00:17:32
Speaker 1: Get out of here. He's full of But they'll still say hullabaloo, but he is. This guy is full of it. He's full of it. He's full of malarkey. I tell you, I don't believe in over sleeping. It's a slow news day. If that's what we're leading with. Let's move on that guy. Guys, I got it. I don't believe in over sleeping.

00:17:52
Speaker 3: Well, there's two callers on this.

00:17:53
Speaker 1: But you know what, take two calls and then there's a story of a possible characters. Argument is the most is the most obvious thing I've ever heard in my life. Here's the counter argument, guys, ready, I was really tired. You don't believe in that I needed sleep. My body needed rest. I slept through the alarm. I no know this. You know that the counter argument is really hard to figure out here. I was late because I overslept has as much credibility to me as someone goes, Oh, I cheated on my wife because I got drunk. Dude, I feel like I'm in a twilight. Did you liken't even believe that this guy's coming on national radio to tell me he doesn't believe in oversleeping. It's a it's a human fact that your body needs rest sometimes. You know what I'm curious about. All those doctors tell you to rest because you're sick and you're pushing your body to the limits. Sometimes you could oversleep because you need it.

00:18:42
Speaker 3: He believes in the easter Bunny, He said before the show's taking kids.

00:18:45
Speaker 1: I'm going to go to take the kids eats buddy today. I you know what I was curious about, though? Have you seen those sweet pictures of Earth from out of space? What are flat earther saying today? What are those weirdos saying today?

00:18:56
Speaker 2: What are the moon moonlanding Deniers going to say, in a few years when we land on the moon with Artemis four, I feel like you're the type of guy that you'd live on the moonstam.

00:19:04
Speaker 1: I am come in peace.

00:19:05
Speaker 3: I come in peace.

00:19:07
Speaker 1: You should be one of those guys. All right, let's say two big footballs. We probably will move along just having fun on Friday. Funny, but I can't believe you believe it? Hey, he Rich convinced Sam. So, I mean, maybe there's other people pointing at the radios, like Rich makes a point.

00:19:20
Speaker 3: That you're still out. I don't think the callers are going to agree with Rich. Dan in Kansas City on the show.

00:19:27
Speaker 7: Hey, uh, I'm in Kansas City.

00:19:31
Speaker 6: So there was a.

00:19:33
Speaker 7: Haha, funny video flip that came out in the spring of him saying I need six to ate alarms to wake up, and this happened.

00:19:45
Speaker 1: And then oh so he had said that prior to this, So this is something he said. Hey, man, you know some people, how about this Rich Ready, I'm about to blow Rich's mind. You never heard the expression to describe someone as a heavy sleeper. There's heavy sleepers and lightly. This guy's clearly a heavy sleeper. Maybe he has narcolepsy, all right, so he had a reputation and like he talked about this before. That's not uncommon, dude. My mom, oh my god, I grew up with a with a woman that just slept the entire day. She's like, how could you say that on radio? Stephen? I was always making you breakfast, dude. If Sunday rolled around, my mom didn't get out of bed until like forest came down her nightgown like ebone's a scrooge in her nightgown, Marley and Marley. She wears that she wears like the little house in a prairie nightgown. She would say, I'm like one of five kids. I'm sure she has other things to wear. Kids would be running around making noise, playing drums. Mom would sleep completely through that. Trust me, you could oversleep, dude, you could oversleep.

00:20:46
Speaker 3: Who else we got that? Let's talk to Moe in Tempe.

00:20:51
Speaker 1: Suly. What's up about most sleeping?

00:20:56
Speaker 3: Right now?

00:20:57
Speaker 5: What's up now?

00:20:59
Speaker 6: Household?

00:21:00
Speaker 5: I'm a construction worker, so I have to be a worker. I wake at religiously same time in the morning. My wife lying out of the hand. She works from home, so she'll set her alarm for when she thinks she needs to get up, but and it'll be three four in the morning. She hadn't get up till six o'clock, so she will keep setting it over and over, which wakes me up because I don't have to be working two five, but I wake up and hear her alarm. I have to turn her alarm off.

00:21:23
Speaker 1: Dude, she's oversleeping because her body needs rest, because everybody needs. They always say eight it's not really eight hours. They say eight hours would be great. If you can get eight hours, you're winning in life. Good for you. Everybody needs that rest. So if you're not getting it, eventually it catches up to you. You're gonna oversleep. I'm not saying that's an excuse. I'm not saying it's okay that this dude was late. It's not. I do agree that accidents happened, but yeah, I also believe that oversleeping is a possibility. His excuse also better be that he was alone. Like if there's some woman in his bed and she didn't even help him wake up, come on, yeah, yeah, so that's the story. Learn from your mistakes, learn from his mistake. Sometimes in life, even when you're on time, you're late. Get there a little early, give yourself some time, Be respectful to others, Be prepared. Carter Jensen. He's a young dude. He needs when he says six to eight alarms, he needs ten alarms and someone else to back him up. Because I'm sure he's the breadwinner of the family. He should have people on standby to wake his ass up. I'm sorry, I was dozing off. Covino Rich having fun on a Friday. We have more next. There's a story of Oh, I thought you're gonna give us the refrigerator rules. You're not gonna give us that. Rich has a hot take on refrigerator rules. But we do got to talk. Oh about the White Sox. There's a story of God. The fact that someone's been saying racism drives me in saying is it racist? As a story out of Chicago, plus a refrigerator rule at work. We'll get to that and I will play brain Wave tell the little NFL all coming up a fun Friday coven on Wretch. 00:24:48
Speaker 1: I love this song twilight Zone. That's where Rich is living. What's he talking about? The planet is Rich? Live from the Fox Sports Radio Studio. We are Covina and according to the feedback, Inch Davis really catching on Inch Davis because his shorts are like four inches too short. Yeah. Live from the Fox Sports Radio Studio in Los Angeles. For over forty years, tyrack has been helping customers find the right tires for how, what and where they drive. Shipped fast and free back by free Road has a protection with convenient installation options like mobile tire installation, ti Iraq, dot Comway tire buying should be if you just joined us. Carter Jensen of the Royals overslept, so they benched him for a game. Rich is saying that he doesn't believe in oversleeping, that it's always human error. And I saw some funny feedback. You could chime in live on our YouTube chat. Because we're streaming live. You can see Rich's short shorts. You could chop it up with some of the Carls, the Covino and Rich listeners of the Fox Sports Radio Nation. I gotta find it again, he goes, you don't believe in oversleeping. It seems like the Mets Bats have been oversleeping lately. Oh that was Henry Gomez four point fifteen. The Mets Bats overslept last night. Bashit yeh noor. How do you explain that? Plonko, how do you everyone accept so dude, showhy woke up for the Dodgers today. Oh yeah, and Ben Rice has been awake. Man, Yankees got the w today and you know what, You're gonna get your updates with Profet in just a few minutes. But Danny g is on the phone, super producing. He's the executive producer of the show. He's a radio tycoon. Danny g. We were, Danny Gen. I were just sharing stories about how everyone does run late or oversleep and there are times when you you desperately try to get to work on time. And Sam, you were telling me one of the one of our hosts here a f Fox Sports Radio has a great running late oversleeping story.

00:26:38
Speaker 2: There's another, well there, at least there was another Steven Rich here Steve Hartman and Rich Ornberger who had a show on Sundays for a long time. And Rich still hosts here here and there. But when he was playing, he was an offensive line when he was with the Patriots. One day he remembers the sunlight was hitting him in the eyes when he woke up and he knew, uh, oh, I'm late, because he would get up at like crack of dawn to get to practice, and the Patriots and Bill Belichick would cut you for like very trivial for anything, really thing like you have to be locked in more so than any other organization. So Rich is in a panic. He's like, I'm gonna lose my job. He's putting himself together. He's out the door and he's driving to practice from his wherever his home was and you know, around New England area, and he's like desperate, he's thinking of this, he's concocting this Kakamami plan. In his mind, He's like, I'm going to like gently rear end this like van in front of me on the road so he could tell his employers, tell Belichick and the Patriots that he got into a car accident. So he kind of taps this guy they pull over.

00:27:32
Speaker 1: Really that's brilliant because he hurt no one, and he was probably able to tell where he hit, like, yeah, here's he had some money.

00:27:38
Speaker 2: This he said, this old man that he hit was just like it's I think it's okay. It's just a little fender better. He gives a guy like a thousand bucks in cash he has on he has on him. And then he gets there and he's like, I got no car accident. I the proof, here's the pictures. And then I think Belichick or an assistant coach sat him down, was like, okay, you were you had the accident. This time it was like a wink and a nod like we know you were up to no good, Like we know that that story was bs.

00:28:00
Speaker 3: Wow, it's Rich told is so good.

00:28:02
Speaker 1: I think Rich that's great. Really doesn't believe in oversleeping. That is not It seems it seems like an impossibility. And probability because he's so hyper and hyped up. He's just a naturally hyper guy. Perfect. Was that not the real story? No, no, no, that that's it.

00:28:16
Speaker 9: I was just going to point out that, uh, from from events around here, that is not. Also the only story around Fox Sports Radio. I've heard of people claiming a car accident. Well in this case, I think it was a flat it was a claimed flat tire, but either way, there has been several several stories I've heard around here about cars being used.

00:28:36
Speaker 1: Every time someone says their car was toad, I'm like, show me proof, show me, I believe you. There was one time I was running late for work one time. This is not an oversleep thing, but Danny and I were sharing stories of like desperation because when you work in certain industries, and again, what we do isn't the most important, but it is a job that when your show starts at a certain time, you need.

00:28:58
Speaker 3: To be there. You can't be late.

00:29:00
Speaker 1: Was a youngster in the game. I was like twenty twenty one and I was working in New York, an opportunity I probably didn't even deserve. And there was a big traffic jam. I cut around some cones that I shouldn't have to get where I gotta go. A cop was like, you're a big trouble pull over, and I thought that. I was like, what am I gonna do? I start crying like hysterically. I got it was my job, my golden opportunities acting blubber crying, like acting genuine or this was like I was like probably a little couple of both to be honest, him and I poor, which is a good actor. He played where you little arf nanny in the high school plan? I was the sun will come out tomorrow. And the officer looked at me in my little tears, my little cruck, little arpan Dicky tears, Yeah, little, my little Alfred Dicky tears, and he goes, you are pathetic, you little pep. Get that out of here.

00:29:53
Speaker 3: I like, now, were you truly emotional over what's happening?

00:29:58
Speaker 1: I was, But I was like I've been a if I laid on thick. It's either way, like I gotta do something, so so hey, Carter Jensen learned from his mistake and be on time and do accidents happen? Absolutely, And that's what happened here. Now we got to get your phone calls in and we got to talk about, well, something really controversial on a very casual, great Friday. It's a good Friday. And there's a story with the White Sox. But who do we got, Danny J. Let's go to Reno. John is on the line. Reno, John, you're on the Cavino and Rich Show.

00:30:28
Speaker 5: Hey, guys, how are you doing?

00:30:29
Speaker 1: What's up? John?

00:30:31
Speaker 5: Hey?

00:30:31
Speaker 7: Any of you have a dog?

00:30:33
Speaker 1: Yes, there's nothing that will.

00:30:36
Speaker 5: Wake you up faster.

00:30:38
Speaker 6: Than a dog yacking in the middle.

00:30:40
Speaker 5: Of the night.

00:30:41
Speaker 1: That's true. You know what. I lose hours of sleep, probably a week because the dog just wakes you up and bouncing around. I have to use the bath licking your face. I'm not gonna lie. My dog died in December. And if there was any benefit of my dog not being with us, is that I sleep better? Like yeah, because, especially when my dog was old, you're waking up in the middle of at least once you're talking at something, you have something in the window or.

00:31:05
Speaker 3: Cats do that too. They'll play with the blind so they're get on top of you because they want you to go down and give them fresh food.

00:31:11
Speaker 1: Thanks for the call man. Who else we got there?

00:31:12
Speaker 3: Let's go to Iowa.

00:31:13
Speaker 2: Thomas, Hey, Tommy, Hey Thomas, Hey, what's up guys?

00:31:18
Speaker 5: What up?

00:31:19
Speaker 7: Hey?

00:31:20
Speaker 5: I got a question.

00:31:21
Speaker 3: The Royals are missing out on a promotion, like so many fans can get a Royals alarm clock.

00:31:26
Speaker 5: And I'm going to the Brewers Royals game this weekend. Any chance you'll sign my alarm clock?

00:31:31
Speaker 1: That's really funny, the Carter chance at alarm clock, the Kansas City Royals nightcap and they actually hand out nightcaps. Oh, I go like an ebonyzer scourge, a little seat mask. It'll be as hot as that Yoshi bubblehead. And thank you guys for the feed. Now one last They could have fun with this story. They really can. That's not a bad idea. It really depends on how they want to spin it right. They can make it look like this is an irresponsible kid, or they could say, hey, listen, he made a mistake and we got his back and he you know, like yeah, really it's the spin zone, as they say.

00:32:01
Speaker 5: Right.

00:32:02
Speaker 3: Let's wrap this with Brian in Florida.

00:32:04
Speaker 1: Brian Ran, what's up?

00:32:05
Speaker 3: Bright Act?

00:32:08
Speaker 5: I love this show?

00:32:09
Speaker 1: Thank thanks man? What's up.

00:32:13
Speaker 5: Guys? With everything you guys said? I love Rockney, but.

00:32:21
Speaker 1: I feel like everything he's saying is kind, but I feel like you dropped his phone. He like a river. He was holding his phone with his feet. That's what he's in his pocket. He's talking very skilled.

00:32:30
Speaker 3: Man.

00:32:31
Speaker 1: Uh, something's up to your phone. But we appreciate it. Man, thank you know, man, I appreciate that. Let's go to profet for an update and then a story of controversy out of Chicago. What's up Profet?

00:32:40
Speaker 9: All right, guys, let's get you caught up on what's going around the world of sports. First, let's certain baseball, where number one baseball prospect Connor Griffin was put in the lineup to start today for the Pirates.

00:32:50
Speaker 1: Youngest youngest man to make.

00:32:53
Speaker 9: His debut as a teenager in Major League Baseball since Juan Soto at age eighteen did it.

00:32:58
Speaker 1: I'm twenty eighteen.

00:33:00
Speaker 9: Well paid off immediately first off, first at bat, he pops a double, scores a RBI. Then on the next play, who is it? I forget, I forget the name I just had. Jeered Triolo hits the single and he scores from and Griffin scores from second. So already right away, four to two, Pittsburgh over the Orioles right now.

00:33:20
Speaker 1: But I saw some Griffin's going off. Skeens is much must watch TV for one day of the week. This guy is taking care of the other four and you know what, they've done a good job. They're structuring a deal nine years like one forty, so I mean that only takes him till it's like mid to late twenties. It's exciting. Yeah, he's he's an exciting guy. I just wonder if Pittsburgh, who knows what happens with the players Union next year, maybe Pittsburgh tries to build something finally, I don't.

00:33:45
Speaker 9: Know, Yeah, that would that would involve the ownership. Actually, you know again, this is this is never the problem of a salary cap. This is a problem of owners that need to actually spend some money. But it is a loyal fan Basee'd like to see them. Most of my cousins were from West Pennsylvania, so I grew up with a lot of pirate It's fans of my life. I still kind of hope they will do well. Nationals, speaking more baseball, had their homeowner crushed by Los Angeles Shohey Otani, Freddie Freeman, Kyle Tucker, Mookie Betts, Annie pie Haz. I think I got everyone all with home runs. Hey, thirteen to six, your final score LA over Washington, Aaron Judge hit a three hundred and eighty seven foot home run in the first inning en route to an eight to two Yankees victory over the Marlins. Red Sox snapped an early five game losing skin in the season with the victory of the Padres five to two. In the NFL, the Jacksonville Jaguars and edge rusher Trayvon Walker have agreed to terms on a four year, one hundred and ten million dollar extension for the former first overall pick. The Associated Press named Duke Ford Cameron Boozer as men's basketball National Player of the Year. He received fifty nine of sixty one first place votes. Yukon Sarah Strong as the women's National Player of the Year, Nebraska Fred Hoiberg named Coach of the Year, and Arizona head basketball coach Tom Lloyd announced he is rem in Arizona. He will not take the job offer from North Carolina and he'll continue to coach the Wildcats. He's getting a new contract and we'll continue to coach them through the final four. Back to Cavino and Retch.

00:35:10
Speaker 1: Great stuff. Thanks Pet, Pet Mets got to stop a three game skid tonight. Nolan McLean's on the on the hill out here in San Francisco, up in the Bay. The Mets got a problem, dude, it's the problem, you know outside looking in. I know I'm hearing things. I'm a Yankees fan, but I pay attention to the Mets. And there's story after story where want Soto. Everybody gravitates towards the guy, where they're questioning him, like was he told to take on this role of leadership and mentorship? And everyone's like no, He's just doing it because he loves the team. He loves the young guys, and all the young guys love him. People are requesting to be by him in the locker room. He's taking people under their wing. And he's like, wait a second, this is probably why Lindor's so sold. It's almost everybody loves Soto and it's almost like Survivor where alliances were made and lind Door like the has the tribe spoken? Is he not going to get a rose?

00:36:04
Speaker 5: Like?

00:36:04
Speaker 1: What's like Lindor went from? Remember last year? The Mets have since made the announcement that they don't believe in captains like there won't be a captain, right, But David Wright was a captain. John Franco was a captain. The Mets have had captains, but Steve Cohen said, while I'm the owner, there won't be captains. But there was major speculation that Lindor was going to be the captain. That narrative not only went away, but they said, no way, we're not doing that. And now he might be the problem. I heard that Luis Robert Junior like wanted to be by him in the locker room. Now he took him under his wing. There's like a lot of love there. Seems like Lindor is the problem and that's not something your team needs. Because Nope, they could be great. We shall see if they break that skit. Tonight. We got more Covine on Rich and a really controversial story next and has to do with the Chicago White Sox and race. We'll get to that right here on Fox Sports Radio. Is your business struggling like New York Mets O boy struggling to find a qualified candidate, Well, you're not alone. Speaker 9: Rebound Champagny with two seconds ahead, telling Harper from half.

00:38:20
Speaker 1: Card that shit job a buzzer.

00:38:23
Speaker 5: Peter had half card for dealing to Harper.

00:38:26
Speaker 9: Had the Spurs going to the locker room up five twenty four.

00:38:30
Speaker 1: He hit a really interesting note right there, right with the Spur and Spurs. Spurs Spurs Man. I thought only Rich Davis could hit that high note. Yeah, when you grab my anyway, Spurs handled the clips twent eighteen, Spurs going to the locker and Spurs. That's so funny, dude, I don't know why. A courtesy of twelve hundred news radio WAI Spurs Radio Network to tyregt Play of the Day for over four years, tyrack isn't helping customers find the right tires for how, what and where they drive, Shipped fast and free back by free road hazard protection with convenient installation options like mobile tire installation, tire iraq dot coma tire buying should We were talking about do you believe in oversleeping and running late? And you know weekend superstar Bernie Fronto Bernie is on the line. He's got a good story energy boy, Bernie, know what's up, Bernie, Henie.

00:39:26
Speaker 6: Imagine being called to the big league? Who just sleeping in that your new name is Mickey the Dumps anyway. True story, true story involving four Harvard football players back in the seventies, never made the media. They decided to go on a bender after a game Saturday and Sunday night. They blew it up a little too big for Sunday morning. They were supposed to be an eight o'clock team meeting and they weren't gonna make it. Had a two hour drive and had you know, a few too many cream dements. So they decided to call the coach. Coach, we're on the way. We're so sorry, we got a flat tire. We can't make it. We'll be a practice Tuesday. Head coach has no problem. They show up Tuesday for practice. Coaches, I know you guys wouldn't lie. You get kicked off the team for that. But he calls them all in and puts them in a separate room and he says, I just like to ask each one question. I'm gonna write it out on a piece of paper. Just all answer the question and we'll pick up the papers independently after you leave, and the question was which tire on the vehicle?

00:40:24
Speaker 1: That's your story straight, Damn. It's a good story.

00:40:28
Speaker 6: Story.

00:40:28
Speaker 1: That's a great story. Bernie Frado, Bernie, good to hear from me. Man, Yeah, Man, we appreciate you weekends here on Fox Sports Radio.

00:40:35
Speaker 3: Breaking Breaking any of the players matched you know, Oh, that's like this movie.

00:40:42
Speaker 1: You gotta know your you gotta know your story. That's a reminder to you know, if you're going to keep a lie or do something with one of your buddies. I'll just say Covino used to have a pal. Let's just say that was up to Shenanigans and would tell his girl like, oh Covino when I went to the movies, and then his girlfriend would go up to Covino be like, how'd you like the movie. I'd be like, ah, what movie? Yes? Great? Yeah, your story? Yeah, seriously, and get all your alibis and check. So thank you Bernie Fratto, and thank you Fox Sports Radio Nation, trying to turn your good Friday into a great Friday, happy holiday weekend, happy Easter. Like I said yesterday, I wonder if anyone's going to kiss my dad's keyster for East I wonder he's always talking about kiss my Keyston. I mean, this is the weekend, so shout out to my peeps, and we got to talk about the Chicago White Sox. Yeah, that's a White Sox story. There's a guy named Munataka Murakami who's sweeping the nation, such a good player. Here's the deal. There's an announcer on the team, third year play by play guy who's in the final of the year his contract, so probably not trying to mess up in any way once that new deal FDR style. Apparently he sets something that's rubbing people the wrong way and it might might have him in.

00:41:52
Speaker 3: Some hot water.

00:41:54
Speaker 1: He said that this young star player, Morikami Munataka is looking for a nickname. This guy rips a hit, and the announcer John Scriffin says, there he is the south Side Samurai. And I'm sure a lot of people like, oh, that's a good nickname. But there were some people like, oh, isn't that appropriation? Isn't that cultural? The misspeaking, by the way, that's Rich Davis. I'm not sure where he's going with this yet, So I just want to say that in context does matter. Context matters, and we'll talk about this next. Oh, it's gonna be a good one. That plus brainwave and more cn R
