I've missed so much time. People already think I'm abandoning this. I cannot take another day. But uh woke up this morning a little better. But it sounds like I have a frog in my throw. 00:01:12 Speaker 6: Yeah, that's what I was gonna say. Are you ever gonna actually say her name? To think? 00:02:00 Speaker 6: I think I slipped up and said it last week? 00:02:02 Speaker 2: Do you just? But do you not want to say it? 00:02:06 Speaker 5: Because because you know, I find myself she was at a funeral. I was at and I find myself calling her yoga, which is not what you should say to someone. 00:02:16 Speaker 2: So I mean, do you ever do you want to ever use her name or no. 00:02:25 Speaker 4: Those words. 00:02:29 Speaker 5: No, I'm trying to like keep her identity. Maybe I don't want to job appearances. You've been in US weekly. I mean I feel like that there, legs are they. 00:02:46 Speaker 6: It's been a while, but we've been definitely been in tops and legs. 00:02:48 Speaker 2: But but you don't want the name out there. 00:02:50 Speaker 5: Well, I'm okay with it, but I don't know if she's okay. I understand that. I understand that. I I get why you wouldn't want to do that. That's why I don't ever, you know, talk about dating is I don't want It's for the other person more than even more than even me. 00:03:02 Speaker 2: So I get it. 00:03:02 Speaker 5: But you have to be careful because I don't. It's weird for me to go up to people I know and go nice to see you at this funeral, yoga girl. That's a weird thing to say. 00:03:13 Speaker 7: People were asking how Ryan's doing. I'm like, well, yoga girl's updating. 00:03:17 Speaker 4: It's okay for like Matt and Drew to know her real name. 00:03:20 Speaker 2: I mean, I know her name. Yeah, I know her name. 00:03:22 Speaker 5: I'm just saying because you say that, I mean you you, even when you're talking to us, call her yoga girl, Like you don't even use her real name with us, and it's easy just to forget that's not her name. 00:03:34 Speaker 3: She's I still don't even know why she's called that start started just because she doesn't. 00:03:41 Speaker 2: Even go to yoga that much, does she. 00:03:43 Speaker 5: I mean, that's like calling me, I don't know Indian restaurant guy because I go once every two weeks. 00:03:48 Speaker 2: Like is that? Well? 00:03:49 Speaker 6: She she has a yoga curriculum and teaches yoga to preschool kids. 00:03:53 Speaker 2: Okay, all right, well there you go. 00:03:56 Speaker 6: I mean this big week, myles birthdays Thursday. 00:03:59 Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm how did I not know that? Well, well, happy birthday early. 00:04:03 Speaker 5: I'll have to get you a present, but I mean it's not gonna be good, but like, but it will be something. Yeah, I mean, after you've been here a full year, then maybe we'll get you something nice. 00:04:11 Speaker 2: Now. 00:04:11 Speaker 5: The other kind of big story besides Ryan's girlfriend is that is that Drew there was a message. 00:04:18 Speaker 2: Board already Ryan into as board. 00:04:23 Speaker 5: Okay, so ks board of course, that's the message board associated with KSR the website. Uh, it's really grown, like in the last few months, grown like doubled. It's it's become a vibrant community. And you know, as any vibrant community, Shannon, you start to like get to know each other. 00:04:40 Speaker 1: Yea. 00:04:41 Speaker 5: So there was a message board post on chas board yesterday that said that on Saturday, during the game here at Ksbar, a person from ks board so part of the community, part of the community, Shannon, this is part of the community, had come up to Drew and introduced herself and they said that Drew was not friendly. In fact, they said Drew has a reputation of being nice and smiling to people, and Drew did not. 00:05:09 Speaker 2: Smile and was not nice. 00:05:12 Speaker 5: Now, I do not take joy in this, but since that's usually what's said about me, it was nice to see someone else get it. 00:05:21 Speaker 2: Do you want to apologize, Well, let me tell the whole story. 00:05:24 Speaker 7: They first asked on chaos board where they should go at a sports bar in Lexington heading in for the game. Naturally, I chime in as others did go to Chaos Bar. We would love to see you. 00:05:33 Speaker 5: So you didn't even be nice? Then they left a review. Can I just read the whole review. 00:05:39 Speaker 2: Read the review. 00:05:40 Speaker 5: They called it the after action report, which is what Freddy used to do. After action report went to Chaos Bar. 00:05:46 Speaker 2: It was good. 00:05:47 Speaker 5: Atmosphere is great, shuttle, situation perfect and easy perfect. Biggest surprise was how unfriendly Drew from the show looks wow, wow accounts nice guy, but he had a cold glare cold. 00:06:01 Speaker 2: Claire on Saturday. 00:06:02 Speaker 6: Wow, I feel terrible cold. 00:06:04 Speaker 5: I want to redo Saturday and bring my hottest glare. 00:06:08 Speaker 2: Well, let's slow down. You're married, but the cold glare don't hurt me. I'm not gonna lie. 00:06:12 Speaker 7: I take pride in being a nice person and showing people a good time here at kas Bart Grille, and I had a cold glare on Saturday. 00:06:19 Speaker 6: Cold. 00:06:20 Speaker 5: And see here's the thing, Shannon, I leave for a weekend and he becomes Hannibal left whoever hosted the show. I was hosting pregame show that day, so you I let Drew or I asked Drew to drive the pregame show Saturday. And now you see, see everybody says Shannon Old Matt's unfriendly matches with remote Ryan's talking to everybody. Well, the reason is I'm trying to put on a show, and so while during the breaks Ryan can go dance and do cartwheels with people, somebody. 00:06:51 Speaker 2: Has has to have something for us to talk about the next segment. 00:06:54 Speaker 7: My cold glair could have been listening to Billy giving me instructs. 00:06:58 Speaker 2: Possible. 00:06:59 Speaker 3: He was just so FoST on doing a good show that you know somebody comes up and interrupts you, but. 00:07:03 Speaker 5: Hopefully it's a good lesson, Like when you know in a three minute break, Shannon or Billy might be giving me instructions. I've got to figure out a topic. How many callers are on? Is one of them? James Like, there's all these things you have to deal with at any point, and it leads to. 00:07:20 Speaker 7: Drew the cold. I had to keep Max under control. You heard little preview of how Max. 00:07:26 Speaker 2: Was on Saturday. We're still Ryan's still recovering. There was a lot going on. 00:07:30 Speaker 5: I could hear in his voice when Max has that naughty like you know what I mean, there's a substitute teacher. Yeah, and I could I could hear that any on Saturday as well. Now, Uh, the other thing we had the KSR golf scramble. Ryan had had his vertigo act up a little bit, so you were not able to putt well, walked. 00:07:48 Speaker 6: Out with you on that first hole to putt. I put my head down on the ball, looked at the hole, look back to the ball, and I said, I can't do this. I felt bad for you did look like it. 00:07:56 Speaker 5: So so you have been pretty good recently long as I sit still or you Literally when he reached over Shannon and stared at the golf ball and then looked up at the hole, you got dizzy. 00:08:07 Speaker 6: And couldn't know something about that movement. 00:08:09 Speaker 5: In my head, I'm a little like, are you getting treatment for I know you're going to court for physical therapy? 00:08:15 Speaker 6: Like the underlying thing. Apparently it's like I do. I don't even know you had crystals in your ear. 00:08:21 Speaker 2: Canal crystals in your. 00:08:26 Speaker 5: Talking about crystals, he's gonna end up at a store and he's gonna end up you're putting jars of water out. 00:08:32 Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean I went out with the woman one time that was into all that stuff. Don't are you? 00:08:38 Speaker 5: Apparently there's a shop out in for sales road where a woman will sell you moon something like rot. 00:08:43 Speaker 3: But no, no, no, he's saying he's not talking about it. He's talking about there's actually crystals floating in your ear. 00:08:48 Speaker 2: Like what kind of crystals? 00:08:49 Speaker 6: Just I don't I didn't even know we had them. But in the fluid in your ear canals, there's crystals and they can get it out of whack, and that's called how do you get them back in? 00:08:56 Speaker 8: What? 00:08:57 Speaker 6: Well? There's these little treatments that I do, like what Well, the one's called the Epply maneuver where you lean on the bount of bed with your head hanging over the side of your bed and like you look right for a minute and then you look left for a minute, and then you roll over on your side. It seems to help. 00:09:13 Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, So so, I mean I kind of every time I had seen you, you had gotten better and better and better. 00:09:21 Speaker 2: And then I felt like yesterday, I was worried. 00:09:22 Speaker 5: I talked to my mom on the drive home, and she was worried about so I it was something weird man about looking over that golf, standing on that golf over their head down and looking to the hole and looking back and like, WHOA, I can't do this. Okay, well so Shannon, because he couldn't do it. Yeah, I had Mario putt. 00:09:38 Speaker 9: Oh, how was that worst golfer Mariote Golf potentially potentially the worst golfer I've ever and that's a strong statement, but his first tip six or seven putts did not come within thirty feet of I mean, it was it was astounding how bad they were. 00:09:58 Speaker 5: And then one guy nearly holes out from the Pharaoh he did, I mean, he literally almost dunked it. Yeah, and it stopped. What do you think eight inches eight inches away? We were like, here we go, the first putt he's ever hit. And shn he missed an eight inch putt. I I did not know it was humanly possible to miss a putt that short. And he went and he just ran fifty yards away and refused to play for the rest of the day. Was like, I'm not playing anymore the rest of the day. And the thing was we were going to film it so we could get his first make, and I wish we had it because. 00:10:37 Speaker 2: It was the worst thing I've ever seen. It was I thought Ryan was bad. 00:10:41 Speaker 5: Ryan is Sevi ballisteros compared to compared to Marrow. 00:10:45 Speaker 6: I tell you, I rode home with Mario. He drove me and he was was still eat eating at him on the way home. It should have like, man, I should have I should have hit that putt. 00:10:53 Speaker 5: Man, he's done a lot good job since he's been here, but he's docked at least two. 00:10:57 Speaker 2: Days pay for that putt. It was absolutely should set up in my ario pudt for prison. We've listened, we have to send in the rikers. 00:11:04 Speaker 4: It was funny for the prison. 00:11:06 Speaker 2: It's funny. 00:11:06 Speaker 6: And ran off the green, ran down the hill because it was kind of elevated green and took off running. I didn't even seem for a while. 00:11:13 Speaker 5: Well, we had fun in Somerset, a lot of fun. All the folks that were there. I really enjoy I said at eighteen all day like you usually do, Yeah, to meet everybody, and uh it was it was really you're. 00:11:22 Speaker 6: The winning score. 00:11:24 Speaker 5: It had to be those four college golfers, right, there were two at twenty three under my goodness, two of them. Two of them they tied at twenty three others so they eagled. 00:11:33 Speaker 2: Every part five and eagled, Uh part of four had to. 00:11:37 Speaker 5: Yeah, there was a group of four dudes. They played golf at midway. Is that what it was or whatever? Those dudes were good like that. They were killing it. So I could see that happening. Well, all right, A five nine eight twenty two eighty seven. We were two days after, three days after the UK Georgia game. I don't you know, I think I've said before I can't really listen to things that aren't this show. So I'll listen to Bill Simmons. I'll listen to Bill Simmons and cousin sal do their football thing. If I'm bored, I might turn on Russillo until he becomes a little much like self. You know, I don't know, he just work out, yeah, a little much. I do think he's entertainment. It comes a little much. I like when part of my take does their Chris Berman the fastest two minutes. So the point is I'd gotten through all that, and so then I was like, well, let me just turn on a couple of college football podcasts just to see, just to see and what they're and all. 00:12:36 Speaker 2: Of them we're talking about the punt. Yeah, all of them yesterday. 00:12:40 Speaker 5: I want to give Mark Stoops a lot of credit for the way he's handling the criticism, even though I disagree with him, Unlike some coaches who've been here and lose their minds and say everybody's an idiot. He said in his press conference yesterday. I don't mind the criticism. I get it. But he doubled up and said, this is just how I feel, which I actually respect that that he's not like, you know, he's taking the criticism in stride. The more I think about it, the more I don't like it. But I also want to say this, I hope that that criticism, of which I will continue to do, does not overshadow how good that performance was. Absolutely, because I do think it is important to realize, even though we may all be frustrated, myself included that they didn't go for it, Drew, that was still a heck of performance. And people could say, I like, it's Georgia, Right, I'd agree with you if it was South Carolina, but it's Georgia. 00:13:37 Speaker 7: I do still think it's a positive day. Yeah, I think it's positive. Stoops has defended his point multiple times. Now it's clear that he believed in it. People just disagree. 00:13:46 Speaker 2: Still does. 00:13:46 Speaker 7: I just hate that that's lingering out of what was such a great game. I just wish it could have ended a little different. Even they go for it and don't get it, we're not having these conversations to just like what should have been as good a day as you can have in a loss, we have this thing lingering and it's a national conversation about the wrong decision. 00:14:01 Speaker 5: I just hate that that's still hanging on. Yeah, I so, I want to be very clear. I'm still very positive about the game. It has re energized my excitement about the season, which was maybe at a zero, and has now made it to where I'm I'm probably gonna go to Old Miss. I think I'd almost cancel my trip because I was like, and now then I'm gonna go because why not? So Ryan? But I still wish they'd gone for it, But I also think it ends up being a still a good day. 00:14:30 Speaker 6: I was curious to see where our fan base heads were gonna be after the game Saturday. I think a lot of people are like you. I think they're we've kind of moved on from that in South Carolina game. We're back on board with this football team and know there's still a lot of wins out there they can get. Not so sure. This time last week we thought they were gonna get them. Now I'm back on board. Yes they can get those wins. 00:14:48 Speaker 5: Yeah, if I'm nine two eight oh twenty two eighty seven. Uh, you can give us a shout. I'd like to hear what you think about the game. 00:14:54 Speaker 2: Uh. 00:14:54 Speaker 5: Do you agree Drew has a cold glare that penetrates your soul? We will deal with all that more here at Kaspar. This is Kentucky Sports Radio. Welcome back. Yeah, this is Kentucky Sports Radio. 00:15:11 Speaker 6: AF. 00:15:11 Speaker 2: I'm nine twenty two eighty seven. Uh. 00:15:13 Speaker 5: Text machine seven seven two seven seven four five two five four. Still want to hear you on the text machine? A lot of people writing in. One person writes mad I was at the Somerset Scramble, not gonna lie. 00:15:23 Speaker 2: I said to my buddy, Drew doesn't seem as friendly as he used to be. 00:15:27 Speaker 5: Oh, I didn't see a cold glare, but I think I saw a cold heart. 00:15:31 Speaker 10: WHOA. 00:15:32 Speaker 7: Maybe I need to do some looking in the mirror here. Maybe it's not just cat fangirl on ks board here. Maybe maybe I need to do some self flash. 00:15:40 Speaker 3: I actually like this because usually I'm the one that gets this. 00:15:43 Speaker 2: No. First of all, right, well you do, and I am nice to beat you are nice, but you do have a resting bitch face. I say, well you do it's the company. Yeah, I want. 00:15:55 Speaker 6: To defend you guys. I think you do a great job with fans, especially here we have big crowdley come up and want to say hi, get a picture. I think you guys actually do a great job with it. 00:16:04 Speaker 5: I do is like the best place to catch me is here because when I walk in here, the moment, I like, right before I walk in, I like get in the frame of mind at talking to people right. The hardest thing is when I see someone like just in life, like out in public, because I might not like, I might not be ready, and then people usually do the hey Matt, love the show, or try to have a quick picture and like that stuff I'm good with. But then sometimes people will go like they'll go, you know, Matt was at Chipotle and he wasn't nice to me, And I go, well, that might have been that the person in front of me in line was taken too long. 00:16:48 Speaker 2: It might not have had anything to do with with with you. 00:16:51 Speaker 5: So but in this bar, I like meeting people and talking to people, or even at a remote or whatever. 00:16:58 Speaker 2: I think I'm just gonna lean into it and be the jerky No. 00:17:00 Speaker 7: I mean, they've created a villain this is my villain origin story beginning right here. 00:17:03 Speaker 5: On comment, one person writes, Matt I was fine with Stoops punting, but I didn't understand how that equated with his conversation yesterday about not having a passing offense. That's the so yesterday he said in his press conference, Look, we are not built to have to get big gains in obvious passing downs. 00:17:25 Speaker 2: Okay, I actually think that's true. That's a fair point. 00:17:28 Speaker 5: Fourth and eight is a passing down, so I get what he's saying kind of. But the thing is, if you punt, you're setting it up to where you're going to have to throw it in obvious passing downs because you're gonna get the ball back having to go forty yards with no timeouts, which means guess what you're gonna have to pass. 00:17:47 Speaker 2: So like I don't, I don't think that statement justifies the decision, right. 00:17:53 Speaker 6: Yeah, we were losing ten to fifteen yards every after every punt, so even Innythy he had punted can be hell and. 00:18:00 Speaker 2: He's still not punting the other guy. 00:18:01 Speaker 5: I mean, we are losing ten yards to every punter, and it's getting lost in the grand scheme of it. Wilson Barry. I give him credit. He has like he does thirty seven yard punts exactly every I mean, he's unbelievable. It's like the it's like thirty seven yards is built into his soul, which is fine. But they're kicking it forty eight yards and we're doing that in every game. And I you know, maybe the other guy does one forty eight and then one thirty three, but Drew I can't keep seeing us. We lose ten yards on every exchange of punts. 00:18:38 Speaker 7: It's a running joke. I'm in multiple group check group texts that say here comes the thirty seven thirty yard plus and he follows through it. It's pretty amazing how he's able to do it. Honestly, I'm kind of rooting for it. I want a year of thirty eight yard punts. 00:18:50 Speaker 5: I mean, he's like the guy that hits it two twenty straight down the fairway. But we got a guy who can hit it two eighty and we're like, let's just not use him. 00:18:59 Speaker 2: We want two twenty down the middle. 00:19:02 Speaker 6: And so even if they had held Georgia do three and out, their punter was booming him ten to fifteen yards farther than our guy. So we would we would have been started backwards even further. 00:19:11 Speaker 5: Let's just assume for sake of argument, that they kick it to the seventeen and then they get no yards. Now, I gotta assume they at least get some yards because they're gonna run the ball in every point. Yeah, but let's just say, let's just say they get to the twenty five. 00:19:23 Speaker 2: Let's say they get eight year old. Okay, he is gonna. 00:19:25 Speaker 5: Punt that ball to at least the I mean what, he's gonna punt it to probably the thirty of ours. To get Alex in like comfortable field range, we're gonna have to go thirty five or forty yards with about a minute and a half and no timeouts. We're gonna have no timeouts. He's gonna have. 00:19:44 Speaker 2: To throw it. 00:19:45 Speaker 5: He's gonna have to throw it, yep, and and you know, so we're in the exact same thing exactly. 00:19:50 Speaker 7: So I thought Stoops was contradicting himself with that. It's like he didn't feel confident to get nine yards one time, but the scenario he was playing for, you're gonna have to get a lot of nine yards on short time, no timeouts. 00:20:01 Speaker 2: Yeah, so you know, I like you, though. 00:20:03 Speaker 6: I do like how Stupid is handling this. 00:20:04 Speaker 2: I do too. 00:20:05 Speaker 5: You know, you know it's hard because every time I say something, it gets equated to the last coach. But how he handles this criticism is how coaches getting paid nine million should handle yep, right, they should say, I get it. Here's my thought. Uh huh okay, and if you disagree, that's fine. He's to Stupid's He's always been like yeah. He has always been like that. He has always been someone I mean, he has said to me, I know you ripped me sometimes. 00:20:37 Speaker 2: But you gotta do it. I'll tell you a little side note Mark Pope. 00:20:42 Speaker 5: When I went and met with Mark Pope, Mark Pope looked at me at one point and said, I want you to crush me. 00:20:49 Speaker 2: This was this direct quote. 00:20:51 Speaker 5: I want you to crush me when we lose, because the day you stop crushing me, this is not Kentucky. 00:20:59 Speaker 2: I point. I said, well, I'm not gonna crush you, and he. 00:21:03 Speaker 5: Goes, no, I want you to. If we lose and we deserve it, you need to crush me because this is Kentucky. And I thought, man, now it's one thing to say that, it's another thing to actually believe it. But I was impressed Drew even said it, to be honest with you. 00:21:18 Speaker 7: And there's obviously a lot of people that disagree with Stoops, the majority, even people nationally. But I think he has done a good job of at least explaining what his thought was, even if people disagree with it. He's at least saying this was in my head, this is why I did this. We got to this point doing that. He's doing his best to explain what Mark Stoops thought in that situation, even people completely disagree. He's trying to open up his brain and let us at least understand why he did it. 00:21:40 Speaker 2: Yeah, all right, who's up next. 00:21:41 Speaker 4: Let's start with Ryan? 00:21:43 Speaker 2: Ryan? How are you? Ryan? 00:21:45 Speaker 11: Hey? 00:21:45 Speaker 10: Man, I got too quick? 00:21:47 Speaker 2: Thing before you can do it? Ryan, real quick? Have you ever met Drew? 00:21:52 Speaker 5: Yes? 00:21:53 Speaker 2: Did you think he had a cold stare when you met him? 00:21:56 Speaker 10: Well, I met him with my baby and he flipped me off turned the stroke. 00:22:03 Speaker 5: That was a don frown. I remember that, flipped off your baby? Alright, go ahead, I'll do it again. 00:22:09 Speaker 2: Okay. So, uh, there's this guy. I seen this last night. 00:22:13 Speaker 10: I had the call. 00:22:14 Speaker 2: His name is. 00:22:15 Speaker 10: Kyle Troop and he is a professional bowler from Mount Washington, and he looks exactly like what you think a professional bowler from Mount Washington would look like. 00:22:28 Speaker 5: Oh my goodness that yeah, he looks. He does look like a bowler from Mount Washington. 00:22:35 Speaker 2: That's all I had. 00:22:35 Speaker 10: That's a Bullet County bowler right there, baby bullet. 00:22:38 Speaker 5: Wow my, he's got a little bob ross going on with the That is an amazing. 00:22:43 Speaker 4: How do I see it? 00:22:44 Speaker 2: Yeah, Kyle Troop t R o U K. 00:22:47 Speaker 5: Yeah right, I'm sorry, I have to go to break, but I now I have a new favorite bowler. 00:22:52 Speaker 2: That's a very smart marks. 00:22:53 Speaker 6: He's from Mount Washington. 00:22:54 Speaker 5: Yeah, drinks Mountain dew, makes the strip and makes the strikes. 00:22:58 Speaker 2: We'll take a break. Be right back. It's KSR. 00:23:02 Speaker 4: That TJ Smith, personal injury attorney called TJ. 00:23:06 Speaker 2: He'll make them pay. 00:23:07 Speaker 3: Now more of Kentucky Sports Radio present it by Stockton Mortgage. 00:23:11 Speaker 4: There's Matt Jones. 00:23:12 Speaker 2: That's it. That's the stair. Actually, you know what, that's the stair. 00:23:16 Speaker 6: That's the stair down. 00:23:17 Speaker 2: The Cold is tweeting this out the Cold Stare. 00:23:21 Speaker 7: People are starting to tweet me interactions we've had. 00:23:23 Speaker 2: I didn't know about it. 00:23:24 Speaker 6: Read that one. 00:23:25 Speaker 7: Tony says, I walked up, turned off his grandma's oxygen, farted and walked away. 00:23:31 Speaker 2: I do not remember doing that, Tony. 00:23:33 Speaker 5: You shouldn't have done that to Tony. 00:23:36 Speaker 2: I never did it. 00:23:38 Speaker 5: I mean, if you're gonna turn off for oxygen, I don't think a fart needs to be thrown into the mix. That feels like, Shannon, that feels like adding insult. 00:23:46 Speaker 4: Yeah, why'd you have to do that? 00:23:48 Speaker 2: I feel still like an intervention. 00:23:49 Speaker 4: Uh. 00:23:51 Speaker 5: The Braves are one game back in the wild Card, right, and they play the Reds tonight. It's probably gonna be the last Reds game I. 00:23:59 Speaker 2: Get to go to this year. 00:24:00 Speaker 5: I'm going tonight with the Turkey under and Judge Gabe Nice and Shannon. You're going on my tickets tomorrow. 00:24:07 Speaker 4: Right, Yeah, that's the plan. Would love to go. 00:24:10 Speaker 5: Yeah, well no, you can have them. But so it's a big game for the Braves, right and the Reds. You know, it's gonna end up being a disappointing year. But I've enjoyed them. I've actually oddly enjoyed them in the last few weeks, even more because it doesn't matter if they win or not. Right, like it doesn't if they It doesn't matter if they win, because you know they're out of it, and I've actually really enjoyed them playing. 00:24:30 Speaker 6: The Brave story is being kind of crazy this year. I know Drew and Shannon a big Braves in, but they every single day it's like another one of their star players of getting hurt and out for the year, and they've had a crazy season. 00:24:43 Speaker 4: Virgil azz Abs is coming back. 00:24:46 Speaker 2: Oh okay, gotcha. 00:24:48 Speaker 5: Well, so I'll be there tonight, but that might be my last game because they their last home game is Sunday, and you know tomorrow, I'm giving them to Shannon Thursdays during the day. I'll probably give those away on the sho Show Thursday, by the way, for Red's Braves. And I'm gonna sell Saturday because it's Paul Skeen's last time pitching, and then uh yeah, I might go Friday. 00:25:09 Speaker 2: I don't know, but anyway, this is the last one? Could it be the forever last one? No? No? 00:25:14 Speaker 5: I mean they keep telling me give me the map. They want me to pay right now, and I'm like, because he keeps saying you'll lose your ticket, and I keep going to. 00:25:22 Speaker 2: Who, like, like, who's their line. Yeah, I mean, who's where's it going? You know? 00:25:27 Speaker 5: And they also said you got to renew now to get the tickets for Bristol, And I'm like, you're not fooling. There's one hundred thousand people in that stadium. I think I'm gonna be able Drew to find a ticket somewhere. 00:25:38 Speaker 2: They're working on you though. I think by the end of the weekend, I'll do it. I'll do it. 00:25:41 Speaker 5: I'm just not giving them that chunk of money right now, you know. 00:25:45 Speaker 2: I Mean. 00:25:45 Speaker 5: The thing is their team is probably gonna be the same next year because they're all young. Yes, So it's so I kind of know what the team is gonna be. And they're they're fun. They you know, the dude with the long hair, Rat Louder, the guy from Wake Forest has started pitching and he's been awesome for four starts under two E R. A Ryan. So the future is bright. They just can't be hurt. They were hurt all year. 00:26:06 Speaker 6: Yeah, the mcclaim dude didn't play with. 00:26:09 Speaker 2: Claim was their best player last year. You didn't play one. 00:26:11 Speaker 6: Game, not one game. 00:26:13 Speaker 2: Hopefully it'll get better. Who's up next? 00:26:15 Speaker 4: Satchel? 00:26:15 Speaker 2: Satchel? How are you satchel. 00:26:18 Speaker 12: Yes, yes, uh, I want to clear something up. I think you all misunderstand the interception rule. I'm a retired official, and what do we miss it? Okay, So, the ball touching the ground is not the determinant of an incompletion. It is the ball moving sufficiently to determine loss of control. Your hands do not have to be under the ball. That's a wrong idea. They can be on the side, they can be on the top. And as long as when the ball touches the ground, it can still move. It just cannot move sufficiently to determine and lost the control. And I'll tell you a situation. 00:27:02 Speaker 5: This is okay, But before we go to the situation, so okay, So, so describing. 00:27:08 Speaker 2: That rule, did you think that was an interception? 00:27:12 Speaker 12: I thought it was because what what happens is when when he when he hit the ground and the ball hit the ground, he still had control of the ball down. No, no, you have. 00:27:26 Speaker 2: Football You're down though, sir, aren't you? Sirh I mean you're down? 00:27:29 Speaker 12: No, no, you have to complete the fall. So that means he has to he has to come to a stop or do a football move. And and when he rolled over. 00:27:39 Speaker 5: Is that true in college way, I want to make sure you're you know more about it than me, So I'm not trying to do this. But when his elbow hits in college, now, and that pros this is different. But in college, when his elbow hits, is he not down? 00:27:53 Speaker 12: No? Not not If he it's his elbow hits and then he subsequently drops the ball, that's an incompletion, Okay. He has to maintain maintain control through the completion of the fall. So what happens is is once he takes the ball off the ground and he's still rolling, he has not completed the fall, he still has it in control. Then it pops up. If he was laying there on the ground and it fell back onto his chest, that's a cash So in an extreme to give you an extreme example, I was officiating an Armwood game down here in Florida and the running back took a pass out in the flat. 00:28:38 Speaker 5: And I don't want to go to all that that. I want to focus on the time. So you believe with all of that, you believe it was an interception. 00:28:48 Speaker 6: I do. 00:28:49 Speaker 12: I saw a player in the game I was refereeing, did a front handspring using the ball. 00:28:55 Speaker 5: Yeah, I don't think that. All right, Well, listen, I try. You know more about it than I do, so I appreciate. I appreciate the knowledge. It's always good to have people who have knowledge appreciate the call. I don't I get what he's saying. I still don't know that I would think it's an interception. But at least, I mean, at least that's somebody who knows making the argument. 00:29:12 Speaker 6: So I liked what he's kind of light bulb went on for me, and he said, if that ball kicked up and it came right back down to the receiver and he caught it, it would have been a completion. So I guess I. 00:29:22 Speaker 5: Don't understand what is again, this is why I think the NFL rules better. 00:29:26 Speaker 2: To be honest with you, I don't. 00:29:28 Speaker 5: Understand, right, So I take the ball, I fall, I have it in my hand. I agree he's right about the ground and he doesn't have to have it under it it hits the ground. My elbows down? Are you saying at that moment? I'm not down because in college the completion of the catch is true. But then weind's he down? I don't, I don't know. I don't totally. You could still bobble it. Heaven, but he wasn't bobbling it. The ground popped it out right. 00:30:04 Speaker 2: It's hard to tell, but yeah. 00:30:05 Speaker 6: I think he was trying to say he thought the guy was kind of still bobbling it. 00:30:10 Speaker 5: That's the way it is an interception. If you watch it and you think he's still bobbling it when it hits the ground. But then if it hits the ground, it's down. If he's still bobbling it. Yeah, right, But it's basically, do you think it hit the grip? It could bounce off his hand. 00:30:27 Speaker 2: Did you think that's what happened. 00:30:28 Speaker 7: It's so because it's on hand and a little bit of grad you can't tell how much the hand has really got it, how much is on the ground. 00:30:34 Speaker 2: It's really hard to tell that. I mean, it's really hard to turn over. That's a rich thing. 00:30:39 Speaker 5: The way that we're talking about it would be the argument of well you shouldn't have overturned. 00:30:43 Speaker 2: That would be the that would be the argument. 00:30:45 Speaker 5: But you know that guy would want to tell me that story about what happened in that high school. 00:30:49 Speaker 6: Well then he said, God, the cartwheel with the ball, I want to hear that. How the hell and the heck do you do that? 00:30:54 Speaker 2: Who's up next? 00:30:55 Speaker 4: Chris? 00:30:56 Speaker 2: Chris? Go ahead, Chris. 00:30:59 Speaker 11: I can't. I was so dejected after that South Carolina game, you know, to see their performance, you know, against Georgia. I'm not gonna lie. The first thing I did was drop four hundred dollars on us UK thickets, just because you know, it's you know, you know, it's kind of re energized me. Again, I can't vouch for everybody, but. 00:31:20 Speaker 5: I understand that if we go down to Florida and beat them, I mean, Billy Napri will be fired after the game, might be fired anyway. 00:31:28 Speaker 2: Yeah, I'll be there, but but but yeah, I can understand one to go. 00:31:32 Speaker 5: Look, I mean it's like we said, it's like we said for the Georgia game, what do you go do it? 00:31:36 Speaker 2: It's better anyway, but go. 00:31:37 Speaker 11: Ahead, And it could it could always be worse, guys, I mean we could be Florida fans. 00:31:43 Speaker 2: Yeah. Well that's another thing I appreciate. The call I wanted. 00:31:46 Speaker 5: I was wanted to talk about Florida and Florida State being a combined one and five and uh, you know, Billy Napier surviving but barely. 00:31:55 Speaker 2: Uh the Florida State oh to three. 00:31:58 Speaker 7: I kind of enjoy it, though, I'm not gonna lie, especially after all the winding they did. 00:32:02 Speaker 6: Suit of the last year about not making the playoffs. 00:32:04 Speaker 5: Yeah, you know, we're Ron DeSantis put two million dollars of state money into investigating the I mean, come on, like you it was clear Alabama was better, right, Oh? Yes, I mean they Alabama nearly beat Michigan. Do you think Florida State would have beat Michigan? 00:32:20 Speaker 2: No? 00:32:20 Speaker 5: No, no, I mean they're zer to three. And uh the other thing, I've said this before. I was on the air on ESPN when we announced Alabama to the playoff and Florida State fans acted like Shannon I made the decisie Like they were like you talked about killing the bearer of bad news. 00:32:39 Speaker 2: They were just like. 00:32:40 Speaker 5: They were screaming at me, like I had personally decided to pick Alabama. 00:32:45 Speaker 6: What's your fault? 00:32:46 Speaker 4: You would have though, if you had the chance. 00:32:48 Speaker 5: Definitely would because Alabama was better. I mean, you know it's that's just a fact. But still I wasn't the one who did it. 00:32:56 Speaker 2: Are you looking to make your tailgate the talk of the game, of course? 00:33:01 Speaker 11: Uh? 00:33:01 Speaker 2: Well, no, cha. 00:33:02 Speaker 5: Lend of Farms has the ultimate game day services, top quality dry age beef. 00:33:07 Speaker 2: Tell them about how good the beef is, right and you get it all the time. 00:33:10 Speaker 6: I'm so excited because we just found out there's some waiting for us at the studio. 00:33:13 Speaker 5: Just got restocked. 00:33:14 Speaker 6: We got restocked. I can't wait to go up because I'll be grilling it out this weekend. There's no doubt about it. 00:33:18 Speaker 5: Yeah, tonight Bear Kentucky proud partner offering free local delivery or free shipping throughout Kentucky with their locally grown, farm raised beef lermo at no cha, lendafarms dot com. Write this number down, Mario A five nine seven oh seven, seven thousand and four. 00:33:33 Speaker 2: What was it? Yeah, I guess you didn't write. 00:33:38 Speaker 5: Digit A five nine seven oh seven, seven thousand and four. It's no cha, lendafarms dot Com. We'll take a break right back. It's KISR. Welcome Mac, it is Kentucky Sports Radio A fib nine two eight oh twenty two eighty seven. Nah boy, the stories keep coming in Shannon about Drew that I didn't know one person rides Matt When KSR came Toddlesborough High School a few years ago, I went to say hi to Drew Franklin. He gave me two middle fingers, kicked me in the stubbock, and chug two cans of coke at the same time. 00:34:08 Speaker 7: Wow it was only one coke. 00:34:13 Speaker 2: Wow. 00:34:13 Speaker 5: See'll wait till you see what I do when I go to Madisonville. If you're gonna do that in Middlesborough, uh, I have to do it back. I also want to note, speaking of Middlesborough, that makes me think of the cheaters at Lexton Christian Academy. The uh uh you know, we we've got these high school this number Drew where this computer program predicts the high school scores for all the games, the Massy rating, the Massy ratings. This dude, Massy Shannon. He sits in his house and he predicts every high school game in America. 00:34:41 Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, wait a minute. He works for this. 00:34:44 Speaker 5: You know you don't have to call him a nerd. I've never met the guy. Pretty amazing thing to even try to do. But you know, now he's picking the scores and the high schools are seeing it and they're getting mad. Yes, they don't like it. It's like we're in every locker room Shannon. People are mad, so they the high school Massie ratings picked the Christian Academy of Louisville to beat Max Duffi's Lexing and Christian team by twenty eight points. So they were hanging in their locker room and I guess they wont so, so Lexi Christian Academy won. Yes, sat Christian Academy Louisville was a big upset. They were chanting after it was over about KSR. I think they probably stole the kid's lunch. Pale the massy kid, he's he and and now Max won't stop talking about it. So maybe the numbers will be better to LEXI did Christian going forward? 00:35:36 Speaker 7: These are I love the numbers, but they're putting us in a little bit of a bond. Two weeks ago, I got a DM from someone in the high school livid about our picks. I'm like, sorry, this is the first time I've seen that pick. I'm seeing this. 00:35:47 Speaker 2: They blame us as they think me. 00:35:49 Speaker 5: You and Ryan said, this is a computer system, but it's also a prediction, like Shane, how are you gonna get mad at a prediction like. 00:35:57 Speaker 4: It came from him though it's his system. 00:36:00 Speaker 2: I understand the predictions are on. 00:36:01 Speaker 5: Do they think he's going to get every game right in the country. It's a prediction, Yeah. 00:36:06 Speaker 3: But I mean, if you're on a team and you're supposed to get beat by twenty eight points and you win, you're gonna want to come back. 00:36:12 Speaker 5: In I should I agree with you, But I think it's I think people are getting a little angry about the predictions because Ryan, they're just predictions and we didn't make them. 00:36:22 Speaker 6: I think we're looking Elsie is looking at it wrong. They should thank us as an underdog and fired him up even more. 00:36:29 Speaker 5: Now, speaking of bad predictions, the KSR Survivor League, we started with fifty uh celebrities or people involved with this show, and after two weeks we are down to eleven. 00:36:42 Speaker 6: Yeah, eleven people. 00:36:44 Speaker 5: Thirty nine people are already out. The Bengals in week one and the Ravens in week two were a big reason why. Yes, But the only people left Vince Merrow. 00:36:55 Speaker 6: Nice. 00:36:56 Speaker 5: Vince Merrow has gotten the first two Tim Couch Hall of Famer slice former Uki coach Slice is still available. Randall Cobb, Peter Burns, who nearly died in Missouri choking on a chicken bone, he would have been he would have been out. You're the only one that could make that joke because you've worked with Peter. Did you really just make the joke that would have taken him out of Survivorly. 00:37:28 Speaker 4: Well, you have to survive life first. 00:37:32 Speaker 2: All right, there you go. 00:37:33 Speaker 5: Uh Michelle Smallman from ESPN Radio who we were with this weekend, Joe Fortenbau, my old co host, Dan Orlovsky, my other old co host, Uh, Darry Noka. It's still in Brandon Walker. That's the barstool college football guy. And then the one that really hurts, Billy Arspool. By person left from this show that is not eliminated is Billy, and he is gonna be smug about it. I'm at the point now I'm rooting for any of the ten people. 00:38:12 Speaker 2: On the list except Billy. Our Sports. He cannot win, Drew he can. 00:38:17 Speaker 5: Billy cannot be the one that wins the Survivor League. 00:38:20 Speaker 7: Billy's kind of been on a mission since being named the ugly duckling of KSR a week ago. 00:38:25 Speaker 5: I feel like he doesn't think he was called the ugly. He just was called the least hands. That doesn't mean he's ugly. 00:38:30 Speaker 7: But I feel like he's been a little bit of a man possessed trying to climb the ring. He picked on Mario a little bit a few days ago, and now he's the last one standing survivor. 00:38:39 Speaker 2: League can't have him around as. 00:38:42 Speaker 3: A matter of fact, to make sure he doesn't win. I'm taking Billy up for a steak dinner tonight. 00:38:47 Speaker 2: Okay, was like a second to get it. So there you go. 00:38:52 Speaker 5: That's eleven people left, thirty nine including all the rest of us out after two weeks? 00:38:59 Speaker 6: Is a Clinton sidents that our three former players are all three live or Losky, Cobb and Couch. 00:39:04 Speaker 2: How about Vince Marrows. 00:39:08 Speaker 5: Outlier might be slice slice one little uh uh slice. Every time he sends me one also sends me an inspirational message every single time. 00:39:18 Speaker 2: Who's up now, Cody? Cody? How are you? Cody? 00:39:22 Speaker 11: I'm good with you. 00:39:23 Speaker 2: Matt doing good. 00:39:25 Speaker 8: I think it's I think it's time for you to pony up, don't you. I don't know what that means the bet that I won? 00:39:34 Speaker 5: Yeah, Cody, I respectfully, I don't remember. What are you talking about? 00:39:38 Speaker 8: The presidential race? 00:39:40 Speaker 2: It's not over. 00:39:41 Speaker 5: You said Donald Trump was gonna win and it's as a matter of fact, as of now, I would say he's not going to win. 00:39:47 Speaker 2: I think you're gonna owe me. 00:39:49 Speaker 8: Oh I don't. I don't know. 00:39:52 Speaker 2: Okay, But how could you say it's time to pony up? The election is two months away? 00:39:56 Speaker 8: Why no, you said Joe Biden would win. 00:39:59 Speaker 2: Okay, you, I can cancel the bed if you want, but you don't win. 00:40:03 Speaker 5: If you want to say I don't win because Joe Biden's out, I'll respect that. But you can't say you've won when the election hasn't even happened yet and your guy might still lose. 00:40:15 Speaker 8: Okay, that's fine. Can I say what? 00:40:18 Speaker 2: But what? But what was the argument as to how you thought you would. 00:40:21 Speaker 8: Won because because Biden dropped out? 00:40:25 Speaker 2: But you said Donald Trump will win. 00:40:28 Speaker 8: I do think you will win. 00:40:30 Speaker 2: Okay, but but we will have a result. 00:40:34 Speaker 11: Yep? 00:40:35 Speaker 8: And what too much? 00:40:36 Speaker 2: Exactly? So that's not time to pony up? Go ahead? What's your second question? 00:40:41 Speaker 8: Uh, well, it's not really a question, it's a I guess it could be a question. Every season I spend between eight hundred dollars for season tickets. We had Georgia on the ropes at home. We was playing with house money at that time, and Mark Stoops would not go for it. Why don't Mark Stoops grow us that and go for it? 00:41:07 Speaker 5: Well, there you go. I mean, I appreciate to call. I don't know if I would use that phrase, but I do think he should. 00:41:13 Speaker 2: Have and I think you do it. 00:41:15 Speaker 5: The numbers analytically are clear you go for it. But even if they weren't, it's the number one team in the country. 00:41:23 Speaker 6: Yep. 00:41:23 Speaker 2: Like, how many times are gonna get this chance? 00:41:25 Speaker 5: As I said over and over, and every one of you out there agree. If I told you before the game, you get a fourth and eight from midfield, and if you get it, we beat Georgia, Ryan, we all would have taken. Everybody takes anybody would have taken it. We should have taken. Yeah, you look, just look at history. They'd beat Kentucky what fourteen to fifteen times in a row, forty one straight regular season wins. Only two losses they have since COVID are both the Alabama. If you got a chance to knock off a team like that, you have to take it. You have to have a big play. 00:41:56 Speaker 6: Usually to beat a team like that, that could have been the big play. 00:42:00 Speaker 7: Especially after the week before. Your back's already against the wall. With the egg, you laid a lot of disappointment the fan base. That was your chance to say, all right, let's gamble and see what happens. 00:42:08 Speaker 5: Yeah, I will say this, if Biden had stayed in the race, I was gonna have to pony up. Now, there's at least a chance that I may not. But I think I think my guy was cooked by the end. Unfortunately, he was probably done. All Right, we're gonna take a break, come back our number two here at Ksbock
