<v Speaker 1>Hey everybody, It's Tuesday, February seventeenth, twenty twenty six. Welcome <v Speaker 1>to the Giant BombCast, Episode nine hundred and twenty eight. <v Speaker 1>I am your host Jan Shoa. Happy Lunar New Year <v Speaker 1>to those that celebrate speak about Lunar New Year. We <v Speaker 1>got the Big Stallion himself, the co captain of the <v Speaker 1>ship Jeff grub. <v Speaker 2>Why I won't intend to let me download the Virtual <v Speaker 2>Boy appen ruin. <v Speaker 1>My eyes speaking about ruining his eyes, he's already tapped <v Speaker 1>into the virtual boy reality. <v Speaker 2>He's coated in red Dan Reikert. <v Speaker 3>And also, you know, ruined my eyes as a child intentionally, <v Speaker 3>So you know that story the other day. <v Speaker 2>I think that was cool. <v Speaker 4>I to get like, it's like a warning. It's like, <v Speaker 4>don't lie to me or else you'll end up like <v Speaker 4>Dan record. <v Speaker 3>A warning for their children's. <v Speaker 2>Speaking about cudminary tale and be like, uh huh. <v Speaker 1>Speaking about cautionary tales and warnings. He is right there <v Speaker 1>at the gates of the three D printers, warning you <v Speaker 1>to keep it. <v Speaker 2>All on the d L Jeff Becklah, Yeah, that's me. <v Speaker 5>I'm a three D printer cop I printed out my <v Speaker 5>three D by my my cop badge and I'm a cop. <v Speaker 1>Now, we haven't asked you to turn in your three <v Speaker 1>D printed badge and gun. <v Speaker 2>Uh, you could probably make one of those. Now. <v Speaker 1>I don't want to think about that future. I want <v Speaker 1>to think about the future with. <v Speaker 2>The bird boy of games media. Ma wow, Happy Lunar, <v Speaker 2>New Year, Happy Marty Grod Do those often fall on <v Speaker 2>the same day? Is this? Is this the strike? The <v Speaker 2>same thing? Right? Yeah, exact same thing. Yeah? <v Speaker 1>You fish on Fridays, you give something up for forty <v Speaker 1>days and then you hand red envelopes to little children <v Speaker 1>and family members. <v Speaker 2>That sounds familiar, and then that's when you have to <v Speaker 2>take the top off, right, Yeah I get it? <v Speaker 1>Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah yeah. Boys, how he'll do. <v Speaker 1>And we just came off of a three day weekend <v Speaker 1>here in the States. It was also Valentine's Day weekend <v Speaker 1>as well. Yes, okay, sure. <v Speaker 2>You're Valentine's Happy listen. <v Speaker 5>I I pulled a fast one this year. I planned <v Speaker 5>a ski trip on Valentine's Day and one of my <v Speaker 5>what am I supposed to do? I can't do anything romantic. <v Speaker 5>I'm keeper skiing. <v Speaker 2>It's not like anything there, yeah, like like a little <v Speaker 2>smooch a little smooching. <v Speaker 5>Yeah, we do that anyway, We do that anyway. Okay, <v Speaker 5>all right, yeah, every day is Valentine's Day on the slopes. <v Speaker 5>I mean, come on, but I it wasn't expected to <v Speaker 5>do anything like over the top. I mean, come on, <v Speaker 5>is a big deal. You got a lot of playing, <v Speaker 5>a lot of equipment to haul. <v Speaker 1>For the daddy's in the group here, which is just <v Speaker 1>two of them are all found. Thank you, thank you. <v Speaker 1>I needed that to for my fragile ego. Have you <v Speaker 1>found Valentine's Day with the little Gimmicks has changed because <v Speaker 1>now you just foist all the stuff onto the little <v Speaker 1>gimmick instead? <v Speaker 2>Yeah, yeah, I understand for three people now instead of <v Speaker 2>just one. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, okay, I was gonna say that's not what you <v Speaker 1>meant jan right. <v Speaker 2>No. <v Speaker 1>I was thinking like, oh, Dylan, now it's your responsibility <v Speaker 1>to make the Valentine's Day for your mom. <v Speaker 5>Yeah, like I'm going to rely on that for anything. <v Speaker 5>What are you talking about? What are you I spent <v Speaker 5>some of my Valentine's Day inside of an igloo and <v Speaker 5>it was awesome, and I was like, you know what, <v Speaker 5>they should offer this as a place to live all <v Speaker 5>year round, because I don't want to go anywhere. <v Speaker 2>It's awesome any summer. <v Speaker 5>Igloos are the best. I've decided the best way to live, the. <v Speaker 2>Best Number one. How's the internet in a nickel? Fine? <v Speaker 5>Fine, Fine, And it's fine here too. I'm on my <v Speaker 5>third modem in six months, Mike, So everything's peachy. <v Speaker 2>Okay. <v Speaker 4>I think I still put houseboat above igloo back on <v Speaker 4>my ranking of houses and domiciles, us not beating houseboat. <v Speaker 2>Houseboat can move. <v Speaker 5>Yeah, that's part of the problem I think is that <v Speaker 5>it can move and get me nauseous. <v Speaker 1>Are you thinking grub a houseboat on like a river <v Speaker 1>or like just out in the open? I mean a <v Speaker 1>lake or a river, probably at lake like the New <v Speaker 1>Roadhouse like that. Yeah, Like I want to be of <v Speaker 1>exactly like Jake Jonenhall in the New Roadhouse. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, the Roadhouse. He's always walking around like that. <v Speaker 2>Oh yeah, yeah, that's me. I got crazy eyes. I'm <v Speaker 2>gonna hurt you. <v Speaker 5>So I spend I spend some time. While I was skiing, <v Speaker 5>there was an igloo. I got to the like like <v Speaker 5>ten thirty. People are like drinking like heavy cocktails at <v Speaker 5>ten thirty during their ski. <v Speaker 2>Day in the morning, they're trying to kill themselves. Like right, <v Speaker 2>that's what they're trying to do. <v Speaker 5>Pretty dangerous. But yeah, it's like I just I was <v Speaker 5>surprised at how many people were inside the igloo, like <v Speaker 5>many drinks deep at ten thirty in the morning. <v Speaker 3>The exactly maybe like two adults and a child could <v Speaker 3>sit cross leg it in right, Yes, it wasn't a <v Speaker 3>fucking cartoon folk. <v Speaker 1>You need to specify all right, by one point of reference. <v Speaker 5>I mean this I substantial I'd say on the inside, <v Speaker 5>like two thousand, three thousand square feet, like very large. <v Speaker 2>That's more like a big glue. <v Speaker 5>And everybody I'm posting in our chat, but like it <v Speaker 5>was substantial, like it was a very large igloo that <v Speaker 5>could probably hold I would say seventy five people comfortably. <v Speaker 2>Christ make that. I don't know how they do it. <v Speaker 2>They do it's like together this was lot so yeah, <v Speaker 2>snow and then they pad it down with water. <v Speaker 5>It's got to be some sort of like core foundation, right, <v Speaker 5>like they have to. I'm sure, Like the way you <v Speaker 5>build like a tent, like an outdoor tent, I would <v Speaker 5>imagine it has like a steel sort of frame and <v Speaker 5>then they somehow like it's. <v Speaker 2>A large igloos but not like that real shit. <v Speaker 5>I mean it's it was enormous and like, oh my god. <v Speaker 5>The pretzels there was like great pretzels there. <v Speaker 2>After. <v Speaker 5>Dude, like I said, geese, that's all I need in <v Speaker 5>like cheese. I'm not moving. Uh there might have been cheese. <v Speaker 3>You got a pretzel and no cheese. <v Speaker 2>Mustard. <v Speaker 5>I think it was like a garlic. It was like <v Speaker 5>a garlic sauce with a case. <v Speaker 3>That sounds pretty good too. <v Speaker 2>That's delightful. <v Speaker 5>That's had some champagne. <v Speaker 2>It's worth okay in champagne. That's good. I uh yeah. <v Speaker 2>I went down to Florida. It was my girlfriend and <v Speaker 2>it was also her birthday weekend. Happy birthday, Yes, happy birthday, Payton, <v Speaker 2>Happy birthday, babe. So that was a good time. <v Speaker 5>Down there. <v Speaker 2>Not very few, very few it gos in Florida. It's <v Speaker 2>funny because like it was in the seventies or maybe sixty, <v Speaker 2>so a lot of them were freezing, and I felt <v Speaker 2>so happy to be there. It's such a cold winter. <v Speaker 2>It's warmed up a bits as I got home, but <v Speaker 2>I remember just walking from my car to the airport <v Speaker 2>was was miserable, but it was fun. She took me <v Speaker 2>to it tiki bar in Orlando called and Vacation, Permanent vacation. <v Speaker 2>That's it. Thank you. How do you remember better than I. <v Speaker 3>Do who I've known for my memory? <v Speaker 2>Mike, Yeah, yeah, that's fantastic. One of my uh when <v Speaker 2>my drinks came in a glass that looked like a <v Speaker 2>pig and they put like what looked like a cigar <v Speaker 2>but now it's just kind of a scented rolled up <v Speaker 2>paper thing and it was on fire, and you know, <v Speaker 2>they they they play a song and they do a <v Speaker 2>whole thing. And I got to drink out of my <v Speaker 2>pig and I was very very happy. Uh Oh. I <v Speaker 2>finally went to the Cirk Desillay show in Disney Springs. <v Speaker 2>I didn't go to a theme park, but we went <v Speaker 2>to Disney Springs like all the restaurants are for for <v Speaker 2>Valentine's Day, and I was like, oh, there's a Cirk <v Speaker 2>Desolay show here all the time, like a permanent building, yo. <v Speaker 1>Mikey is Disney Springs similar to like a downtown Disney. <v Speaker 2>And it used to be called Downtown Disney here. Also <v Speaker 2>they expanded it some years back. It is like a <v Speaker 2>city walk. It's like a city walk. It's much bigger. <v Speaker 2>Than City Walk. Yeah, very similar. Yeah, Clay is like <v Speaker 2>a permanent show there. So we saw that and it <v Speaker 2>was awesome and one of the like funny people in <v Speaker 2>the show, I saw my boat head and like jumped <v Speaker 2>out the stage and kissed that at one point and <v Speaker 2>that was fun. And then some cast member came running <v Speaker 2>at me to give me my badge. Afterwards it says, <v Speaker 2>I'm celebrating best audience performer at certain delayed Drawn to life, <v Speaker 2>So now I have this forever. So that felt, Dude, <v Speaker 2>I love the best audience member. Yeah. Have a bit <v Speaker 2>of trouble getting home though, Like it was supposed to <v Speaker 2>be Sunday night. I'm like, okay, maybe Monday. I'll check <v Speaker 2>out that Diabo two stuff which I'm going to add <v Speaker 2>to the rundown Jeff by the way, and then uh <v Speaker 2>what else? And then we get there like, oh, it's <v Speaker 2>delayed a little bit because of the storm here. That's okay, <v Speaker 2>get on the plane we're taxing for now. And then <v Speaker 2>they're like, oh, it's delayed real bad now because there's <v Speaker 2>fog over there. So we get off the plane and <v Speaker 2>they're like, oh, so how delayed are we And then <v Speaker 2>they're like, would you believe that. You know, it's already <v Speaker 2>midnight there, ten forty pm tomorrow. Oh boy, right. <v Speaker 3>I feel like I used to never have flight delays <v Speaker 3>and crazy flight bullshit, and I feel like in the <v Speaker 3>last oh, let's say year or so, like eighty percent <v Speaker 3>of my travel has gotten fucked up in someone. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, weird. I've never had to get on a plane <v Speaker 2>and be told to get off thing before, and happened <v Speaker 2>twice in the last few months. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, that happened like four times in a day to me. <v Speaker 3>Not that was it the bomaiton or Game of the <v Speaker 3>Year or something like, yeah. <v Speaker 2>Game of the year. Yeah, yeah, I mean, and you know, <v Speaker 2>it's like, I get it. There's fog over there. I <v Speaker 2>don't want to land over there and then have to <v Speaker 2>drive through fog for an hour anyways, and then once <v Speaker 2>like you know, no planes are landing there, then of <v Speaker 2>course it's going to take a while to get all <v Speaker 2>the planes there. So so I did get it. My <v Speaker 2>problem is I was real angry for a bit because <v Speaker 2>all the all the restaurants were closed and there weren't <v Speaker 2>vending machines even or even like the Hudson News thing <v Speaker 2>was closed. There's just no way to get food, so <v Speaker 2>you got it. <v Speaker 3>That's why your carry on bag you always got to <v Speaker 3>have like two or three protein bars in there, just <v Speaker 3>in case the bullet. <v Speaker 2>But luckily, once they got I like the terminal, like <v Speaker 2>the main hub area, there was a single mc donald's opened. <v Speaker 2>Oh I've never been happier to see McDonald's in my life, <v Speaker 2>and I went, I went. I went embarrassingly hard at <v Speaker 2>that McDonald's. No. No, I got a double double quarter <v Speaker 2>pounder combo large for a large drink and ten nuggets. <v Speaker 2>That seemed like that. Okay, that's that seems and you <v Speaker 2>were angry. Yeah, it's just angry. Yeah, yeah, it was <v Speaker 2>good then, like you know, I do it could go <v Speaker 2>back to my girlfriend's house, but she was asleep and <v Speaker 2>I didn't know she had to work the next days. <v Speaker 2>I'm like, I don't want a car, like I come <v Speaker 2>drive another thirty minutes and come get me. Uh yeah. <v Speaker 2>Luckily E actually kind of like woke up on her <v Speaker 2>own and saw and said I could come over. So <v Speaker 2>I was. I was saved. That was fine, and I <v Speaker 2>just got to hang out a bit more and it <v Speaker 2>was all right. I got bumped got bumped up to <v Speaker 2>the big uh big f C the first class come <v Speaker 2>for free. Yeah, living it up on there. Man. It <v Speaker 2>was free. It's great and somehow now an incredible coincidence. <v Speaker 2>The the flight attendant was just on the cheek. No, <v Speaker 2>it's a patient my girlfriend or not like that is <v Speaker 2>a patient of my father's. What what what? How did <v Speaker 2>this getting me up? Uh? I don't know. Somehow my <v Speaker 2>dad texted me like, oh hey, uh I know that <v Speaker 2>with the flights in your flight. I don't know how <v Speaker 2>I came. I think when I told my dad, well. <v Speaker 6>Well, they're texting during their affair. I'm sorry. We have <v Speaker 6>to eliminate that as a possibility. Now explain yourself. These <v Speaker 6>circumstances are almost unbelievable. <v Speaker 2>I think. I think so when I told my dad <v Speaker 2>my dad's always very concerned about my safety when I'm traveling, like, oh, <v Speaker 2>the flight's been canceled. I think the next day he <v Speaker 2>just texted a flight attendant patient of his that he <v Speaker 2>knew worked for Breeze and was like, I don't just <v Speaker 2>like ask about it and she's probably yeah, that's flight <v Speaker 2>Oh so and then you know they figured it out from there, right, <v Speaker 2>I think she I think she the f C. Did <v Speaker 2>she give you the f C I think has thoughts here. <v Speaker 5>It's just a level of access here. It's just on professional. <v Speaker 5>I can't get on with this, Like what are we <v Speaker 5>doing here? <v Speaker 2>Man? <v Speaker 5>I chext it in a fucking flight attendant favor to <v Speaker 5>see if little Mikey's okay. <v Speaker 2>It sounds pretty on brand for him, to be honest. Actually, <v Speaker 2>just like we're working weird connections to try to affect <v Speaker 2>things he can't affect for my safety, like when blades <v Speaker 2>take off in land. <v Speaker 5>And I'm sorry, what is this fictional airline you're flying? <v Speaker 2>The airlines it's it's a smaller airline, but they have <v Speaker 2>direct flights out of a smaller airport and Akron it's <v Speaker 2>really nice because the Aquin because you know, it's it's <v Speaker 2>it's cheaper. But it's not like a Frontier or a <v Speaker 2>Spirit where it's you know, like the like the get Yeah, <v Speaker 2>it's like you have no space between seats and like <v Speaker 2>they still have a first class section things like that. <v Speaker 5>Right, second question follow up, describe first class on Breeze Air. <v Speaker 2>It's just like all the other ones. You get only <v Speaker 2>two seats per little section, nice and tons of laker <v Speaker 2>and stuff for he drinks, including it's nice and even <v Speaker 2>though I didn't ask for it. She slipped me a <v Speaker 2>bag of peanut m and ms. I was like, that's all, <v Speaker 2>you know, if I asked for them. <v Speaker 1>Are you sure you want to be talking about this <v Speaker 1>on the podcast, Mike. We know your girlfriend listens to this. <v Speaker 2>This is not egregious, just as a favorite of my dad, <v Speaker 2>and it's got some free peanut m and ms. I. Look, <v Speaker 2>I say, I'll give him to her next time. What <v Speaker 2>she wants. I don't even really actually, but I just <v Speaker 2>I like the gesture, right. It is not a suggest all. <v Speaker 4>Right, all right, this is the kind of thing that <v Speaker 4>happens like, uh, like, what's the Jim Carrey movie where <v Speaker 4>he is. <v Speaker 2>Yes, the Truman Show show. Yeah, but Mike's not like <v Speaker 2>a Truman Show situation. <v Speaker 4>Had dad is like producing a show about his life in. <v Speaker 2>The class problem, the problem. It's working out. Yeah. <v Speaker 1>We we're just the aggressive side characters in your life. <v Speaker 2>Ye, Dad, it's working on great. I want to. I <v Speaker 2>gotta talk to your dad, man, Yeah, I get these <v Speaker 2>cats together. I want to. <v Speaker 3>I wanted to talk to him on content as well, <v Speaker 3>and Mike always tells me it would be very disappointing. <v Speaker 5>I don't need it for content. I don't want to <v Speaker 5>like explore you want to do that, man. <v Speaker 2>I just want to I just want to podcasts. <v Speaker 1>We should do in that brain we should all do <v Speaker 1>a dad swap and do a podcast with each other's dads. <v Speaker 3>Okay, okay, back, that's going to be that duo. <v Speaker 2>I know. I can't imagine my dad. I think would <v Speaker 2>have a brainanderism of worry if Dan Record was his son, <v Speaker 2>very much, it was very like worrying far like oh <v Speaker 2>you know, he still me to text him my like flight, <v Speaker 2>like oh yeah, I'm at the airport. Now, I'm in <v Speaker 2>the plane. Now I'm home. It's you can sleep now, father. <v Speaker 2>Does doctor Minotti do the same with your brothers? Oh yeah, <v Speaker 2>yeah yeah, oh for sure, for sure. <v Speaker 5>And you're the oldest right No, I'm I'm in the middle. <v Speaker 2>Shocking. I know it's not shocking. Yeah. <v Speaker 5>I just like I have a similar thing with my <v Speaker 5>dad and I'm just like Dad, I'm forty three, Like <v Speaker 5>what are we? <v Speaker 2>What are we doing here? Bud? <v Speaker 5>What's happening? <v Speaker 2>I always hate to say it, but I'll be like, look, <v Speaker 2>if something happens to the plan, I bet you'll find out. <v Speaker 2>You don't need you don't need to hear about it <v Speaker 2>from me. <v Speaker 5>So look, I'm not saying it's not cool that dads <v Speaker 5>still care, but I think like the way they present <v Speaker 5>their care is UH is. <v Speaker 2>A lot well you know, I mean there's a way <v Speaker 2>to do. <v Speaker 4>I experienced it. It's like I care, but only because <v Speaker 4>it's really causing me a ton of stress. Like I like, like, <v Speaker 4>if you get hurt, that's gonna be a lot of <v Speaker 4>problem for me. <v Speaker 2>So that's like happening up front. <v Speaker 5>Sadly. I think you're correct. I think it is more <v Speaker 5>of like, look, would be great for you to survive <v Speaker 5>this trip. <v Speaker 2>Emotionally damaged. I'll be if you die, Like it doesn't <v Speaker 2>happen to you. <v Speaker 5>All the supernatural ship I can. <v Speaker 2>I've loaded up all the crystals. <v Speaker 5>Yeah, rubbing in the closet. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, all right, folks. <v Speaker 1>We we've been in an egg glue. We've been on <v Speaker 1>the FC of a plane. Any anything else significant happen <v Speaker 1>over the three day weekend I had UH. <v Speaker 3>I had Valentine's Day dinner at white Castle Lovely. Yeah, <v Speaker 3>it was fantastic. It was really really fa reservations. They <v Speaker 3>have candlelight. They were like, you know, roses on the table, <v Speaker 3>and stuff like that, and it's just so fun to <v Speaker 3>seeing all the people that work there that like just <v Speaker 3>one day a year, they're like waiting tables and it's like, <v Speaker 3>I wonder if that's like fun for them where it's like, oh, <v Speaker 3>this is like a unique day of work, or if <v Speaker 3>it's like, oh, we gotta do the fucking Valentine and <v Speaker 3>ship but they get tips and stuff, which they didn't <v Speaker 3>really I asked about that. It's like, how do we <v Speaker 3>do we tip here? And they're like, well, you got <v Speaker 3>to do like if it's not cash, it's like Zelle <v Speaker 3>or Venmo and it's like I play some cash on <v Speaker 3>the table here. But yeah, I wonder if they like it. <v Speaker 3>It's a I thought it was a fun thing. It <v Speaker 3>was like a mix of like younger couples and then <v Speaker 3>extremely old couples. <v Speaker 2>That's what you want. That's how you know you're to <v Speaker 2>find establishment. <v Speaker 1>Did the menu change it all dan or was it <v Speaker 1>just the same? <v Speaker 3>It was the exactly. I mean, they have like a <v Speaker 3>fold out menu. <v Speaker 2>I've got to hear. <v Speaker 3>It's like, you know, it is Valentine's Day themed and everything, <v Speaker 3>and it's like but it's just like sliders and they <v Speaker 3>had limited time, Triple Cheese tots. <v Speaker 2>I got those. <v Speaker 3>Those were great. Yeah, I had a really good time <v Speaker 3>with that. And then we went to Applebee's and got cocktails, <v Speaker 3>and then we saw Nirvana, the band of the movie The. <v Speaker 2>Show which where was that? Go see? I need to <v Speaker 2>go so bad. I've been watching I've been watching it <v Speaker 2>like clips NonStop. So this is unfortunately, I think this <v Speaker 2>very stupid question. I know the answer now, but this <v Speaker 2>is not actually about Nirvana. <v Speaker 5>Huh. <v Speaker 2>Oh my god. <v Speaker 3>It is the movie of a show that's been It <v Speaker 3>was a web series, then it was the show. <v Speaker 2>Today we shop Wednesday. I looked recently that it's those <v Speaker 2>people and now. <v Speaker 3>And they are they heard geniuses. The show has always <v Speaker 3>been genius. This movie is right in line with the show. <v Speaker 3>It is absolutely fantastic. I talked to Mary Cash who <v Speaker 3>went in knowing nothing, and she thought it was a documentary. <v Speaker 3>And that's hilarious. If you've seen the movie, that's so funny. Okay, <v Speaker 3>that's great, that's incredible stuff. And so also Matt Johnson then, <v Speaker 3>one of the guys who did that BlackBerry movie. He's <v Speaker 3>they're they're awesome. I love those guys. <v Speaker 2>He's extremely talented. Yeah, boy, when I was at that <v Speaker 2>tiki bar and they were They're One of the cocktails <v Speaker 2>was called face Off, and I start I texted Dan <v Speaker 2>immediately very excited, but then I just kept getting more <v Speaker 2>drunk at the tiki bar and like capt texting and <v Speaker 2>then made us order one so we can get it <v Speaker 2>to and be like, look, Dan, it's a face Off <v Speaker 2>like that movie. You're like. He's like, He's like, yeah, <v Speaker 2>that's great, Mike. Remember the name of the boy everything. Yeah, <v Speaker 2>you were very, very better than I did. I had, <v Speaker 2>I had a lot. They had another trick there that <v Speaker 2>came in like a diver helmet and it was like <v Speaker 2>a mule that was called the Bends. That's right, not <v Speaker 2>that guy, not the not the face spaghetti game, the <v Speaker 2>internal you know your Intrail spaghetti game. Yes, where your <v Speaker 2>body gets all smitched together. Yeah, I want to go <v Speaker 2>see that movie. Though, I want to. I want to <v Speaker 2>know not much more about it than the fact it's <v Speaker 2>not a documentary about Nirvana, and then I want to go. <v Speaker 3>See it has nothing to do with the band Nirvana. <v Speaker 3>I think you should just go see that have. <v Speaker 2>Anything to do with Nirvana the band though. <v Speaker 3>Yes, two Ends, Yeah, incredible, incredible, show. Seriously, people haven't <v Speaker 3>seen it. It's one of the best I've ever seen. <v Speaker 4>It's like I'm getting more excited about it, like I'm <v Speaker 4>hearing great things, but then just going back and watching <v Speaker 4>all those clips, it's like, oh, yeah, some people actually <v Speaker 4>are funny because I'm so used to to that, like <v Speaker 4>YouTube clips or shorts on on like Instagram, where it's like, oh, <v Speaker 4>this is comedic, I'm sensible chuckling. Maybe I'm usually not <v Speaker 4>cracking up, And I'll watch two things from Navranda the <v Speaker 4>band of the show, and it's the funniest shit I've <v Speaker 4>ever seen. They are little genius. <v Speaker 3>I put it up there with like Arrested Development or <v Speaker 3>Nathan Fielders stuff. You know, it is like that level <v Speaker 3>of great which Backlar, Are you. <v Speaker 2>Familiar with the movie at all? <v Speaker 5>I know about this movie. <v Speaker 3>Yes, Do you know, like, what is a major crux <v Speaker 3>of the plot of the movie. No, Okay, I'll just <v Speaker 3>say this. Back to the Future is a massive part <v Speaker 3>of this movie. <v Speaker 2>It is the future. <v Speaker 3>Back to the Future. It was the core of this movie. <v Speaker 5>Okay, that's funny. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, it's very very very good. That's a good movie. Yeah. <v Speaker 3>It was honestly, like the perfect weekend because it was <v Speaker 3>just like I beat a game, I wrote a review <v Speaker 3>of a game that'll be going up in the near future. <v Speaker 3>So I basically just played a game the whole weekend <v Speaker 3>and then saw movie a Why Castle had some drinks. <v Speaker 3>It was just like, that's that's an ideal three day weekend. <v Speaker 2>It's amazing Prime four again. He gave it two stars <v Speaker 2>this time. I just can't stop playing it. <v Speaker 3>It's crazy now that I think about it, Like. <v Speaker 1>I know it's still early access, but Dan reviewed Lord <v Speaker 1>insisted we did. <v Speaker 4>It's very funny now, dang he because you do know <v Speaker 4>every time you review a game it's gonna be Oh <v Speaker 4>so this is. <v Speaker 2>Worse than that. <v Speaker 3>For I messaged you and I said, like, I'm I <v Speaker 3>just have to retire. To retire, yeah, that question forever <v Speaker 3>anything I don't get five stars like, oh so okay, <v Speaker 3>so Metroy Prime is better than this. <v Speaker 2>That's your life ready for it? Bring it on? All right? Uh? <v Speaker 2>Grab any anything? Any fun festivities. <v Speaker 4>We got a heart shaped pizza from jets Nice. <v Speaker 2>I also I also. <v Speaker 4>Beat a video game, and then we made some chocolate <v Speaker 4>covered strawberries, like you could buy those and super expensive <v Speaker 4>make them at home. That ship's awesome. Hell hell, and <v Speaker 4>I just ate that all week and it was good. <v Speaker 1>I say this not to be sad or a Debbie downer, <v Speaker 1>but this is my first Valentine's uh being single in <v Speaker 1>quite a while. And let me tell you. <v Speaker 2>It's okay. Let me tell y'all. <v Speaker 1>Wow, you just fucking do whatever you want when you're single. <v Speaker 2>Huh. Yeah. I drill fish, didn't you? <v Speaker 1>I grilled the fish, wore. <v Speaker 2>Exactly. I couldn't do it before. <v Speaker 1>I had this small yachatry grill that I bought years ago, <v Speaker 1>and like the special charcoal, I lit that bitch up <v Speaker 1>and then I grilled the fucking fish. <v Speaker 5>Yeah, and then you do whatever you want. <v Speaker 1>I had the best advancement in pizza technology, Dan, you <v Speaker 1>know what I'm talking about. That's right, Little Caesar's crazy puffs? <v Speaker 3>Oh the puff? Are those the one we talked to <v Speaker 3>Jared Cargill about. Yes, and yeah, you're good. <v Speaker 2>I can't get them out of my fucking head. They're <v Speaker 2>good anyway. Uh. <v Speaker 1>Jeff Grubb, how could folks support all of these shenanigans <v Speaker 1>and us over here at Giant Bomb. <v Speaker 4>After hearing that, I'd be insane not to go to <v Speaker 4>Giant bomb dot com slash join and become a premium member. <v Speaker 4>If you do that, you ensure the future of the <v Speaker 4>kinds of stuff that we like to make, the kinds <v Speaker 4>of stuff that you like to watch. We are independent, <v Speaker 4>no corporation behind us. We need your support and we <v Speaker 4>thank everybody who has provided it so far. And if <v Speaker 4>you want to join that, go to jobbob dot com <v Speaker 4>slush join, become that premium member. And if you can't, <v Speaker 4>we understand, tell a friend about the website, share it, <v Speaker 4>go put in discord somewhere. <v Speaker 2>Thank you. Yeah. <v Speaker 1>You know, if if you're seeing somebody new, if you're <v Speaker 1>starting dating somebody and you want to introduce your interest <v Speaker 1>to them, show us, show them us first, and that'll <v Speaker 1>be a good barometer, you know. <v Speaker 2>Hey, yeah, right now, yeah, this this scene right here. <v Speaker 1>This, Yeah, the person that had you listen to the podcast, <v Speaker 1>they paid off all of my student loan debt. <v Speaker 2>Amazing. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, folks, let's talk about games. <v Speaker 2>That's a great interest segment. Everybody, good jobs. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, yeah, I'm really we're changing the review skill to. <v Speaker 2>Starbursts too, by the way, especially, it. <v Speaker 3>Would be very funny if we started doing mal stuff <v Speaker 3>where we just start adding stars. <v Speaker 2>It turns out to go up to eight stars all along. <v Speaker 2>Of course. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, speaking about the numbers and all that jazz Dan record, <v Speaker 1>You've been playing a game that I think we played <v Speaker 1>on a upf It feels like years ago cin Across. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, we did it on the Team Next Fest thing, <v Speaker 3>and I think I knew immediately I was going to <v Speaker 3>like it because I like rogue lights and I love <v Speaker 3>any form of pacrosse, and in terms of just like <v Speaker 3>standard pacrosse just lousy with them. You know, it's all <v Speaker 3>over the switch with all the Pacross S series and <v Speaker 3>all that stuff, and then you know, I still go <v Speaker 3>back and play three D the three D Pacross from <v Speaker 3>time to time. This is a rogue Light take on it. <v Speaker 3>It's like if you haven't kind of blatrode up pacrosse, <v Speaker 3>although it's maybe more like it's like Slay the Spire <v Speaker 3>with like it's got the map with the branching paths <v Speaker 3>and you can choose like, Okay, here's a more difficult puzzle. <v Speaker 3>Here's a campfire where you can resource some HP, so <v Speaker 3>like you do have HP and things like that, and <v Speaker 3>you have a timer. So that's the big thing that changes. <v Speaker 3>Like across, here's pacrosse. I think a lot of people <v Speaker 3>would see it as like a sudoku or a crossword <v Speaker 3>or something like that. You take your time with it. <v Speaker 3>This has a timer, so you have an overall like lifetimer, <v Speaker 3>and once it runs down, you start taking HP hits. <v Speaker 3>So it's very interesting to like, it's a cool challenge <v Speaker 3>for me because I consider myself like very good at pacrosse, <v Speaker 3>and so it is really fun to like, oh, okay, I've <v Speaker 3>only got a minute forty left on my timer, and <v Speaker 3>here's a level five difficulty thing that's gonna be like <v Speaker 3>a twenty five by twenty five puzzle. I wonder if <v Speaker 3>I can beat it that fast. And like you are <v Speaker 3>getting like consumables and things like that. There are shops, <v Speaker 3>it's all the traditional roguelid elements and things like that. <v Speaker 3>So I can pop this thing and get an extra minute, <v Speaker 3>or I can press this thing and it'll like fill <v Speaker 3>in twenty random squares, or this will uncover all the <v Speaker 3>cells and an X pattern or something like that. So <v Speaker 3>and you are getting artifacts, you know, kind of like <v Speaker 3>the joker type stuff. They are not I feel like <v Speaker 3>there's less you can do with pacrosse than you can <v Speaker 3>with poker because like the artifacts, I'll say aren't quite <v Speaker 3>as exciting as like the Balatro Jokers. It is stuff <v Speaker 3>where it's like, Okay, every every puzzle is going to <v Speaker 3>have a certain amount of gold cells and you can fill. <v Speaker 3>If you fill these in in time, you're gonna get <v Speaker 3>extra gold for the shop, and you'll get artifacts to <v Speaker 3>make them last longer or give you more gold and <v Speaker 3>things like that. It's it's not as exciting as far <v Speaker 3>as the artifact stuff, but even just the timing element <v Speaker 3>of it, I think adds a ton. And then you <v Speaker 3>do have your boss fights that that's a lot more <v Speaker 3>like Bilatro, where it's like there are gimmicks to each <v Speaker 3>boss fight so it's like, cool, okay, this one. Every <v Speaker 3>once in a while, the screen's going to turn red <v Speaker 3>and if you fill in a cell during that, you're <v Speaker 3>going to take an HP hit. There's ones where like, okay, <v Speaker 3>on this boss fight, the the numbers for the clues <v Speaker 3>spin around, so like they're just constantly spinning as you're <v Speaker 3>trying to get out how many like nine ers out <v Speaker 3>of six? <v Speaker 2>Is that? Yeah? <v Speaker 3>So certain things like that, but yeah, I will take <v Speaker 3>any twist on Picross, and I feel like there just <v Speaker 3>haven't been many, so I very much have enjoyed playing this. <v Speaker 2>Is there like a narrative Nope? <v Speaker 3>I mean I mean there's like some flavor texts and <v Speaker 3>stuff like you die and it's like oh the light <v Speaker 3>flickered out, and it's like, you know, there are like <v Speaker 3>allusions to a campfire and shops and stuff like that, <v Speaker 3>but there aren't like characters or there's no like. <v Speaker 2>Yeats selling or anything. <v Speaker 4>But it's not even like inscription right where it's like, oh, <v Speaker 4>you're gonna break away from Okay. <v Speaker 3>I'd say it's like as much as like a blattro, <v Speaker 3>which means pretty much anything. Maybe it's got more personality <v Speaker 3>than it has like any kind of narrative you know, <v Speaker 3>got it? <v Speaker 2>Uh? This is this is the one point oh release <v Speaker 2>right Okay, it's out out so. <v Speaker 4>Like the idea, like it's not as exciting as some <v Speaker 4>of these other ones, but it doesn't feel like that's <v Speaker 4>going to change. <v Speaker 2>This game is just what it is, right it is. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, And again I was trying to think, like, you know, <v Speaker 3>what could you do, Like like with Blatro, there's just <v Speaker 3>so many different hands and cards and things like that. <v Speaker 3>I feel like there's just more you can do there, <v Speaker 3>and Pacross is just filling in squares based on what <v Speaker 3>numbers tell you. So, you know, I don't think this <v Speaker 3>it's not because this game didn't have good ideas. I <v Speaker 3>just don't think there's a lot you can do with <v Speaker 3>that format as far as mixing it up with the <v Speaker 3>artifacts and all that stuff. So well, it does well <v Speaker 3>with what it can do, you know. <v Speaker 4>And then last thing, like it does the Pit Cross <v Speaker 4>style stuff feel integral or like could they just like <v Speaker 4>swap this out for like. <v Speaker 2>Sidoku and this game wouldn't change all that much? <v Speaker 1>Is it? <v Speaker 2>Like do you feel like they're doing something very specific <v Speaker 2>with the fundamental gameplay of a Pit Cross? Yeah? <v Speaker 3>I mean there, yeah, because it is stuff about like <v Speaker 3>you know, your your abilities and your consumer boles and <v Speaker 3>stuff are like you can choose like a dot on <v Speaker 3>the grid and it'll fill in a five by five <v Speaker 3>around it, or you know the X pattern stuff like <v Speaker 3>that was like Sidoku is always just that kind of <v Speaker 3>like you know, three x three nine by nine thing <v Speaker 3>you know across it can be all sorts of different <v Speaker 3>configurations and stuff like that. <v Speaker 1>Dan, I've seen you absolutely murder at a game of Pitcross, <v Speaker 1>and Sodoku has a Rubik's Cube. Ever, culture interest at all. <v Speaker 3>Yes, yes, list okay. I love logic puzzles. And as <v Speaker 3>a child when they would send me off to the <v Speaker 3>Gifted schol every Monday, they just surround you with logic puzzle. <v Speaker 3>So it's a bunch of like, oh, this person can't <v Speaker 3>sit next to this person, this person has to have <v Speaker 3>a red shirt, this person whatever, and then you got <v Speaker 3>your tangrams or let the tangrams. I was great at <v Speaker 3>logic puzzles, great at the tangrams. If a cross had <v Speaker 3>been around back then, holy shit, that would have been <v Speaker 3>all for me. But then they also had rubikscubes lay <v Speaker 3>laying around everywhere, and try as I might, I would <v Speaker 3>sit there for so long and try to figure that <v Speaker 3>thing out and something about just the spatial element of. <v Speaker 2>The Rubik's cube. <v Speaker 3>I could never quite like that. And the sliding puzzles <v Speaker 3>like a windwaker, you know the ones where it's like, <v Speaker 3>you know, you slide the squares around and you try <v Speaker 3>to make a picture something about that like I can <v Speaker 3>get like one or two squares where I need it <v Speaker 3>to be, and then I just I it all gets <v Speaker 3>sucked up when I try to change something like I <v Speaker 3>cannot wrap my head around that. So I think logic <v Speaker 3>and numbers and things like that I'm very good at. <v Speaker 3>I think the spatial type stuff like that, like rubikscubes <v Speaker 3>and tile puzzles. <v Speaker 2>I just cannot do. <v Speaker 1>Speaking about spatial awareness. I think this may kill your <v Speaker 1>spatial awareness if you wear it too long. <v Speaker 2>Gang. <v Speaker 1>Not only is it Lunar New Year, it's also Virtual <v Speaker 1>Boys Day. <v Speaker 3>I drank my virtual boy mug this morning that I <v Speaker 3>got from the museum of course. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, oh yeah, my brother had one those, but it <v Speaker 2>chipped already because mug suck. Oh wow. <v Speaker 1>Except our mugs that you can get at store dot <v Speaker 1>giant bomb dot com. <v Speaker 2>I wouldn't. I'll probably just break. Yeah. <v Speaker 5>I feel like if I went to your kitchen, Mike, <v Speaker 5>I'm gonna find some mugs, you. <v Speaker 2>Will keep gifting them to me. I'm not gonna like <v Speaker 2>throw them on the ground in front of them right <v Speaker 2>when I get Hey. <v Speaker 1>Hey, Mike, take your headphones off real quick. Okay, let's <v Speaker 1>all get him a mug. <v Speaker 3>I was just thinking, that's it, Like you shouldn't because <v Speaker 3>I think it's just funny if you just keep getting <v Speaker 3>a mugs forever. <v Speaker 1>Now. Yeah, like every in person event we go to <v Speaker 1>from here on, out. <v Speaker 2>Let's get him. <v Speaker 3>Does he have a po box? Can we tell everyone <v Speaker 3>to send a mugs? <v Speaker 2>I have, Yes, we have a shared one. <v Speaker 3>The front door. <v Speaker 5>Okay, okay, absolutely what he wants you're playing in. <v Speaker 3>I don't think you honestly don't think you really don't think. <v Speaker 2>He wants more than two mugs there having a lot. Yeah, <v Speaker 2>but like Mike, Mike lives by by himself. He's he <v Speaker 2>doesn't need that many mugs. <v Speaker 3>No, that's why it's funny if he has like exactly <v Speaker 3>exactly yeah, and like okay, okay, cool, okayeh, headphones, I'm back. <v Speaker 2>I got I bet nothing was discussed about me personally. Nothing. <v Speaker 1>So the virtual boy Gang this is where you take <v Speaker 1>your switch to and throw it into like a visor thing. <v Speaker 2>Right, it's it's over there. It's okay. I did get <v Speaker 2>mine in. I put it together, so I'm ready to go. Oh, <v Speaker 2>look at it's it is. Come on, it's beautiful. I <v Speaker 2>know it's such a good looking for you so hard. <v Speaker 2>I know it became a joke and it's a failure, <v Speaker 2>but look at this thing. It's yeah, it's got viper red. <v Speaker 3>It just looks like it is so stupid, and I <v Speaker 3>love it. So much, even like this morning, I sit <v Speaker 3>down on the coffee table and I'm like, here we go. <v Speaker 3>And like, I never really spent much time playing the <v Speaker 3>Virtual Way. Maybe five minutes at a uncle Land in <v Speaker 3>nineteen ninety five and I started playing and I was like, oh, <v Speaker 3>these games suck. It's like, but I'm still so happy. <v Speaker 3>I was like, this is such a ridiculous thing, and <v Speaker 3>this thing actually works very well at like doing the <v Speaker 3>three D effect. It works way better than I expected. Like, <v Speaker 3>like we joke about it. It's a one hundred dollars <v Speaker 3>piece of plastic, which it is, but it does do <v Speaker 3>what the Virtual Boy was supposed to do. <v Speaker 2>It's pretty cool. Yeah, I'm kind of excited because I <v Speaker 2>never had the lab of v R thing and this <v Speaker 2>will work for like like Smash Brothers on Switch has <v Speaker 2>a kind of VR mode just you know, it makes <v Speaker 2>some really three e I don want to try to Yeah, <v Speaker 2>and we're it works in this Virtual Boy thing, and <v Speaker 2>I'm like, okay, I'll do that. Sure. <v Speaker 4>Honestly, I think it's just like Mario runs around the beach. <v Speaker 4>I guess I didn't explore it too much, but I <v Speaker 4>think it's just like, isn't this fucking crazy, and I'm like, oh, okay, <v Speaker 4>that's it so kind of. <v Speaker 3>You see Mario's nipples and three D Virtual. <v Speaker 2>Boy have to download. I'm going insane. It's just. <v Speaker 3>People are like a clock the pipe. <v Speaker 2>I don't think it's I don't. I have no idea. <v Speaker 2>Probably not when I shut down, because a virtual point, <v Speaker 2>that's that'd be crazy. <v Speaker 4>But no, I get through the shop and then it's <v Speaker 4>like all right, click the button, free download, and then it's. <v Speaker 2>All right, hair every time it's it's frustrating. Is this true? <v Speaker 3>Chap says that you can play all of Breath of <v Speaker 3>the Wild, and VR. <v Speaker 2>Believe that's true. I believe that's. <v Speaker 3>In this Virtual Boy because that sounds like an unbelievably <v Speaker 3>fun and stupid thing to do. <v Speaker 4>Take Have you taken the red filter off yet to <v Speaker 4>see like just the raw pixels? <v Speaker 1>No? <v Speaker 2>I have not it. <v Speaker 4>Yeah, yeah, because they're gonna sell different filters, I think, <v Speaker 4>or give you the where you have. <v Speaker 2>Filters, they're gone. They're gonna have different filters. So like <v Speaker 2>when you play it, remind me, can you play these <v Speaker 2>games on the app without like any of this stuff? <v Speaker 3>Was just like, don't be ridiculous. How is that supposed <v Speaker 3>to work. <v Speaker 2>So you can't play it docked, which was one of <v Speaker 2>the stories weren talk about news. Let's just talk about <v Speaker 2>it now. You can't play it doc but when you <v Speaker 2>take it out of that, out of the dock, you <v Speaker 2>can boot it up. <v Speaker 4>But it's going to be the two eyes as soon <v Speaker 4>little screens side by side, and there's a thing you <v Speaker 4>can do to make them a little bit bigger, but <v Speaker 4>they still look pretty. <v Speaker 3>I am going to load up Breath of the Wild <v Speaker 3>and switch to and try and be a live on <v Speaker 3>the show. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, please, wonderful? Yeah. Perfect. We got to figure out <v Speaker 2>if we can somehow output this thing to a capture <v Speaker 2>cartoon while we're looking at it. <v Speaker 4>I mean, we can't because you can't play it well doned. <v Speaker 4>So we'll just have to come up with a way. <v Speaker 4>Let's just play some Virtual Boy games. <v Speaker 2>It'll be fine. <v Speaker 3>Okay, sure, Sure, you can't use the home button while <v Speaker 3>it's in the Virtual Boy. <v Speaker 2>How do you get back. <v Speaker 3>And just saying like you can't do this? <v Speaker 2>Wait second, don't you have you know, isn't their home <v Speaker 2>button on your joy cons? <v Speaker 3>Yeah, I'm hitting it on the controller and it's saying <v Speaker 3>you can't go to the home screen because it's in <v Speaker 3>virtual mode. Is this only a virtual Boy? <v Speaker 2>Now? Yeah, it's virtual boy. Now you have to tap <v Speaker 2>the clothes. People are saying, tap, it's a tap close. <v Speaker 3>That's insane. Okay, there, it is all right, We're all right. <v Speaker 3>I'm loading up at the while. <v Speaker 1>Yes, So have y'all gone the chance to play any <v Speaker 1>of the Virtual Boy games? <v Speaker 2>Yes? <v Speaker 3>The first one I loaded up was three D Tetris. <v Speaker 2>Which, uh, yeah, that's not good. <v Speaker 3>It's not good at all, and that the frame rate's <v Speaker 3>real bad. Then I played Telarro Boxer, which I was like, ooh, <v Speaker 3>punch out stock and it was also not very good. <v Speaker 3>I tried all of them and they were all not <v Speaker 3>very good, except for Warrio Land seemed like there might <v Speaker 3>be something there. <v Speaker 2>Waryland's great. That's just that's the one that's the most <v Speaker 2>like the original Warland and gay Boy because after that one, <v Speaker 2>which is mostly an action platform, after that the series <v Speaker 2>became kind of, you know, very puzzle exploration base, which <v Speaker 2>is great. But this one's fun because it's more like <v Speaker 2>that original. It's Mario clash on there. I know some <v Speaker 2>people don't like Mario. <v Speaker 3>Class It's it's only like seven or eight maybe right now, <v Speaker 3>because that was the first one I wanted to load <v Speaker 3>up and I did not see it there. <v Speaker 2>And do we not have Jack Bros? Yet? No? Not yet? <v Speaker 3>Okay, excuse me, you heard me? How did you toy <v Speaker 3>con VR goggles on? Oh my god? This is insane? Okay, yep, <v Speaker 3>there you go. It splits Breath of the Wild into <v Speaker 3>virtual mode. <v Speaker 2>That's weird. But are each of those images of smaller <v Speaker 2>resolution now like it has to be. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, it's got the red filter. I'm gonna play. It's working, <v Speaker 3>but it's all right filter you have to virtual boy, <v Speaker 3>Breath of the Wild is insane. <v Speaker 2>Oh my god, man, Okay, that's incredible. This this looks <v Speaker 2>so happy? <v Speaker 4>Is this headset sold out on the site for me? <v Speaker 4>It says I've reached my limits? <v Speaker 2>So yeah, I don't know. They had a second wave <v Speaker 2>come out that was her stale for a bit, So <v Speaker 2>I'm not sure if you can so easily procure one <v Speaker 2>of these things. <v Speaker 1>Normally I get a little bit of fomo when you <v Speaker 1>hooligans go rush out by and any other thing. <v Speaker 2>Don't fear miss Absolutely this is not one of those <v Speaker 2>things though. So yeah, this is one of those five <v Speaker 2>year age gap things where it's like, oh, uh, all right, <v Speaker 2>I had one of those with my girlfriend because she's <v Speaker 2>like five years younger than me, and it has not <v Speaker 2>ever felt even remotely like, oh, there's some kind of <v Speaker 2>difference between us until episode one came up during this weekend. <v Speaker 2>She's like, I like that. I'm like, oh no, I <v Speaker 2>love episode Yeah, exactly, same demo. <v Speaker 3>There we go explain how the red filter? Is this <v Speaker 3>a physical thing that's in here? <v Speaker 2>Yes, like a little doubt what I'm saying. Okay, I'm <v Speaker 2>gonna try. I don't know what. I haven't taken that <v Speaker 2>out of mine yet, but uh, I. <v Speaker 3>Am confirming the wild completely works in VR. <v Speaker 2>This thing incredible. <v Speaker 4>All Right, They're gonna they're gonna have other colored filters. <v Speaker 5>Physical filters. <v Speaker 2>Okay, what am I even in this thing? I don't <v Speaker 2>know where this thing is. <v Speaker 4>So I would take it out, but I know it's <v Speaker 4>a physical filter you can take out. <v Speaker 2>I know, Like that doesn't really make any sense, but <v Speaker 2>it'd be so funny if Half Life Alex comes to <v Speaker 2>the Virtual Boy before it all out in PlayStation Yard two. <v Speaker 2>There's a there's a world where it could happen. Is <v Speaker 2>not a world where that could happen? I don't know, grub, <v Speaker 2>I don't know. Uh, just absolutely not. <v Speaker 1>As Dan continues to futs around with virtual reality. Uh, <v Speaker 1>speaking about other horrors inflicted onto your eyes, Jeff, Backlar, <v Speaker 1>you did a quick look last week of Realitible. I did, <v Speaker 1>and that game is all right, all. <v Speaker 5>Right, moving on. No, I I'm really digging it. I <v Speaker 5>hit I've hit a couple of points where you know, <v Speaker 5>I was trying to play it while I was away <v Speaker 5>on my on my rock thing, and I don't think <v Speaker 5>this is this is actually a game where I'm like, no, <v Speaker 5>I'm not gonna play this on my my handheld. It's <v Speaker 5>I don't know what it is. Maybe there's I think <v Speaker 5>things may might just be like a little too small, <v Speaker 5>and I'm kind of just like squint into having a <v Speaker 5>like notice like little areas that are that are you're <v Speaker 5>meant to explore and sort of trigger and activate. So <v Speaker 5>the first time I played a game where I'm like, <v Speaker 5>I'm really in love with it on a big screen <v Speaker 5>and then when I bring it to the portable, I'm <v Speaker 5>just like, oh, this is like kind of almost unplayable <v Speaker 5>for me, which, uh, which is a new experience for me. <v Speaker 5>And yeah, so that was pretty wild, but no re <v Speaker 5>animal is made by the team. The pedigree behind uh, <v Speaker 5>Little Monsters one and two. It is a short I'm sorry, <v Speaker 5>what did I say Little Monsters? I mean Little Nightmares. <v Speaker 5>Little Monsters is the Howie Mandel Monsters under the Bed <v Speaker 5>just a case where where we wanna get us trade here. Yes, <v Speaker 5>Little Nightmares one and two. So yeah, the they have <v Speaker 5>really brought that same kind of energy to this game. <v Speaker 5>You play as is sort of like a brother and <v Speaker 5>sister pair looking for your friends in this sort of <v Speaker 5>like hellscape. <v Speaker 2>The Blue Guy. I'm sorry, yeah, okay, I'm sorry. Continue. <v Speaker 5>You know, it's just so funny. I think about that <v Speaker 5>movie and it's like, man, it didn't really impact me <v Speaker 5>because it was just so like cartoon, not cartoony, but <v Speaker 5>just like very obviously like puppets and all this other crap, <v Speaker 5>and I just feel like modern sensibilities would reject that <v Speaker 5>in such an awful way. Whatever. You go watch that <v Speaker 5>for film and forties. <v Speaker 2>Actually that's not a. <v Speaker 5>Bad Okay, So Little Nightmares one and two this is <v Speaker 5>really it is again. It is the same kind of <v Speaker 5>style where you are kind of exploring, like I said, <v Speaker 5>the deepest, darkest sort of nightmare locales and whatnot. The <v Speaker 5>people in this world are like, you know, you're you're <v Speaker 5>sort of meant to felt like a child, similar to <v Speaker 5>little nightmares, but the people in this world are just <v Speaker 5>like these sort of like exaggerated and like overly tall, <v Speaker 5>sort of deformed, freaky, you know things. It's just the <v Speaker 5>right energy that I want, and it's a lot of <v Speaker 5>the gameplays fun. There's there's an interesting amount of fun <v Speaker 5>kind of platforming, a little bit of trial and error <v Speaker 5>where you're kind of trying to make your way through <v Speaker 5>a certain spot, not unlike what your time is, sort <v Speaker 5>of like in Limbo and Inside. But yeah, I think <v Speaker 5>this is a really nice surprise. I kind of went <v Speaker 5>into this a little bit of trepidation, not really knowing <v Speaker 5>if they're going to stick the landing, but you know, <v Speaker 5>almost probably halfway through this thing now and really really <v Speaker 5>digging it. If you are like me and you want <v Speaker 5>to be in a world like this outside of Halloween time, <v Speaker 5>this should be right up your ally. <v Speaker 1>When I was watching, I was like scrubbing through the <v Speaker 1>quick look back a lot. There's like, are there is <v Speaker 1>this like a co op game or you just have <v Speaker 1>like a person following you so you can. <v Speaker 5>Play a signal player a game like this, I want. <v Speaker 5>I've not done the co op. I feel like maybe <v Speaker 5>one day, I don't know, but you can do co <v Speaker 5>op where one of you, know, you each sort of <v Speaker 5>control one of the brother or the sister. If you <v Speaker 5>play it single player, you have that kind of like <v Speaker 5>ico relationship where you know, you you tell your partner <v Speaker 5>to stay here or flip a switch, call them to you, <v Speaker 5>that kind of thing. I have not experimented with that, <v Speaker 5>so I can't really speak to what that sort of <v Speaker 5>plays like for me. It's like these games, I just <v Speaker 5>want to be with myself, be by myself, right. I <v Speaker 5>guess that kind of makes sense with the kind of <v Speaker 5>atmosphere and whatnot. But yeah, they do offer that, which <v Speaker 5>I thought was a cool little feature. Yeah, it's it's dope. <v Speaker 5>I think it's a bit of a surprise. Is actually <v Speaker 5>reviewing a little better than I thought it would, which <v Speaker 5>I think is interesting and yeah, I am into it. <v Speaker 5>I a full recommendation from me. Go check out Reanimal. <v Speaker 4>So you said, I think you kind of like talked <v Speaker 4>about this a little bit that it's not just like <v Speaker 4>walking through cinematic spaces. It's also like, oh no, it's <v Speaker 4>still a refined platforming game as well. We try to <v Speaker 4>walk in both spaces. <v Speaker 5>Yeah, there is there, you know, there is that there's <v Speaker 5>a light puzzle solving. You are meant to kind of <v Speaker 5>like figure out, you know, how to progress if it <v Speaker 5>is a diorama in the way that you're sort of <v Speaker 5>like you make it to a room and then you <v Speaker 5>kind of have to act quick or a section act <v Speaker 5>quick and kind of figure it out. I think for <v Speaker 5>people who want to be able to like breeze through it, <v Speaker 5>there might be some frustration because you you are meant <v Speaker 5>like you are meant to like die, like you're meant <v Speaker 5>to just not make it through because sometimes you have <v Speaker 5>to think about, okay, well, you know there's there's I'm <v Speaker 5>supposed to like stealth hide behind this dumpster, but and <v Speaker 5>then let the the big ugly guy pass, but then <v Speaker 5>he has to open up this gate for me. So <v Speaker 5>there is a bit of like trial and error that <v Speaker 5>you know, your your sort of task with with with <v Speaker 5>sort of performing. But yeah, it's a mix of like <v Speaker 5>three or four different kind of things, which I think <v Speaker 5>is like a nice kind of balance. <v Speaker 2>You know. <v Speaker 5>The stealth stuff is not so overwhelming where you're just <v Speaker 5>like I'm just sitting here waiting all day. There is <v Speaker 5>a good amount of puzzle stuff. There is a good <v Speaker 5>amount of platforming, and it's fucking weird. It's fucking weird. <v Speaker 5>There's there's goofy, drippy boys, there's moist, slippery fellas like <v Speaker 5>it's uh. Some visuals are striking. I think, yeah, I <v Speaker 5>think it's uh. I think if you were like me, <v Speaker 5>you're gonna be well served for sure. <v Speaker 2>Wow, it sounds like a great spooky game, just like <v Speaker 2>Silent Hill Townfall would be a great spooky game that <v Speaker 2>I was able to pick up on Fantasy Critic. Even <v Speaker 2>though I wasn't here to watch that Taco r. I <v Speaker 2>still got that game, hooray. I didn't get cosavena tho <v Speaker 2>chucked in Oh damn. <v Speaker 3>It must to deal with that because I tried to <v Speaker 3>get it and it said like, oh, it has to <v Speaker 3>be in a public bidding window or something. <v Speaker 4>Yeah, so someone already bid on it, and so after <v Speaker 4>Thursday it shifts from your you could bet on any <v Speaker 4>game to anyone who's made a bid before Thursday. It's <v Speaker 4>now public and you can go look see what everyone's <v Speaker 4>bid on, and now you could try to outbid them, <v Speaker 4>which so yeah, I definitely been on both those games, <v Speaker 4>and sounds of good. <v Speaker 2>People paid a lot of money for him. All right, yeah, <v Speaker 2>I put Yeah, I feel like I did a lot <v Speaker 2>on Castlevania or I did pay a good How do <v Speaker 2>what I do for Castle Island Hill? It was probably <v Speaker 2>twenty something. <v Speaker 3>Well, I tried to do three for Castlevania, hoping that <v Speaker 3>no one else tried. <v Speaker 2>Oh no, it definitely went for like I did. Like it. <v Speaker 2>I did like fifteen or sixteen. I think I did <v Speaker 2>seventeen for Castlevania, so that one went for a lot. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, I've I've been able to squeak away with a <v Speaker 1>couple couple of games I'm pleased about. All right, Well, <v Speaker 1>speaking about a game, we're uh an eco like game <v Speaker 1>where you have someone following you. Jeff grabbed Mike Manatti. <v Speaker 1>You checked out the demo on the switch to for Pragmata. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, yeah, this is actually something I did in the <v Speaker 2>airport yesterday, partly because like I thought yesterday I was <v Speaker 2>gonna have some time I got to play some games <v Speaker 2>to talk about, and then I was just kind of <v Speaker 2>straining the airport again, like okay, well I can always <v Speaker 2>play this Pragmata demo. I've been meaning to do that. <v Speaker 2>I haven't played a lick of this game. I know <v Speaker 2>you guys have talked about it before. Uh you know, <v Speaker 2>I very much like Tom a lot of the time. <v Speaker 2>But like the idea here of a kind of sci <v Speaker 2>fi shooter from them it this demo was really fun. <v Speaker 2>So also like a well put together demo, Like there <v Speaker 2>is a demo craft right, and you're like, yes, this <v Speaker 2>is gonna be pretty snappy. There's gonna be a little <v Speaker 2>bit of like it gets right in you know, cut <v Speaker 2>scene of like setting things up, but you're mostly just <v Speaker 2>playing the game. We picked a very good part of <v Speaker 2>the game to put you into where you were going <v Speaker 2>to get a bit of everything. You're gonna get the combat, <v Speaker 2>you're gonna get the hacking, you're gonna get out smidge <v Speaker 2>of the lore, you're gonna get out boss By at <v Speaker 2>the end, and it's all over in like thirty minutes <v Speaker 2>or something. Very good demo. Yeah, just like this core <v Speaker 2>idea of you're doing this kind of tile based hacking, <v Speaker 2>like a hacking mini game and like some immersive RPG <v Speaker 2>or something, but syndicate Yeah, yeah, but at the same <v Speaker 2>time you are actually shooting an enemy and you have <v Speaker 2>to dodge his attacks and things like that. Yeah, that <v Speaker 2>base mechanic feels fantastic, and if they can kind of <v Speaker 2>explore that mechanic, it maybe interesting across like an eight <v Speaker 2>hour ten hour adventure. I think I think this game <v Speaker 2>is gonna hit pretty good. <v Speaker 4>I I also checked it out just to see how <v Speaker 4>it was running on the switch and an Ari Engine <v Speaker 4>great on switch to this game runs really well. <v Speaker 2>It looks surprisingly, it looks good. Yeah, it's like a <v Speaker 2>little bit like, oh, I bet this little girl's hair <v Speaker 2>looks better on a PlayStation five Pro. But also whatever, <v Speaker 2>I'll get over it. Yep. <v Speaker 4>Like you you know the weak points and that's that's it. <v Speaker 4>That's the main one that you'll you're gonna see often. <v Speaker 2>And you know, I bet it has some like slow <v Speaker 2>down and very specific spots. <v Speaker 4>That's just how these things go. But it's like, man, <v Speaker 4>this I you could totally play this game. Want to <v Speaker 4>switch to you no problem. <v Speaker 2>What is Pragmata coming out? It has to be April <v Speaker 2>something something. So it's always been weird to me that <v Speaker 2>game is coming out after Resident Evil nine for some reason, <v Speaker 2>because there's just announce so much earlier than it but yeah, <v Speaker 2>I'm like very excited for that for release. Now I <v Speaker 2>could play it on switch sho I bet I still <v Speaker 2>want to play it on on PC, but absolutely runs <v Speaker 2>well enough on there it comes out I think twenty fourth. <v Speaker 4>I think that's what I was just trying to get <v Speaker 4>is like, if someone plays this game, are they really <v Speaker 4>getting a lesser version or they're getting the same game <v Speaker 4>but a little less Like there's a distinction. Yeah, And <v Speaker 4>it's definitely the latter. It's definitely like, oh, this you are. <v Speaker 2>You will have played the same game as anyone playing <v Speaker 2>on a super powerful PC or whatever. There's also like <v Speaker 2>you when you hack a lot, you feel up you're <v Speaker 2>a super hack meter and then like does like the <v Speaker 2>camera zoom in on the little girl hacking. It just <v Speaker 2>reminds me a lot of the Team Up Move and <v Speaker 2>Kingdom Hearts two with trone hacks, and I was very <v Speaker 2>much like that. Hell yeah, first it's a Mega Man game. <v Speaker 2>Now it's a Tron game Kingdom Hearts game, that's right. Yeah, <v Speaker 2>It's like I thin when they first show this game, <v Speaker 2>was like, oh, that's interesting, We'll see I don't you know, <v Speaker 2>this might be like another you know, a Path of <v Speaker 2>the Goddess, a cute little experiment and probably pretty good <v Speaker 2>game People of the Path of Costs. But yeah, like, <v Speaker 2>we don't like that. But I'm like this, who knows <v Speaker 2>there might be something here, Like I am already in <v Speaker 2>the mindset of I bet we see a Pragmatic to someday. <v Speaker 2>I think it's something. <v Speaker 1>I like the look of the Pragmata little exo skeleton <v Speaker 1>mech suit you jump into. Yeah, it's got a nice <v Speaker 1>hef to it. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, it's just like I like it, you know, it <v Speaker 2>has that kind of clean but sort of realistic sci <v Speaker 2>fi look that I enjoy and I love. I love <v Speaker 2>little booster boots, right, I love a little hovering and <v Speaker 2>the slow Yeah, I like the boots so good. Stuff <v Speaker 2>to the ground. That's right, Boots to the ground. Mikey. <v Speaker 1>You've also spent a lot of time, uh, and I <v Speaker 1>have spent some time playing the new old Overwatch. <v Speaker 2>I am having so I'm having more fun with Overwatch <v Speaker 2>again than I have had in a long time since <v Speaker 2>good to hear. Yeah, you know, definitely since before it <v Speaker 2>became Overwatch too, and now it's just Overwatch again. That's fine, <v Speaker 2>But you know, they added five new characters at once, <v Speaker 2>and I think all of them are good, which is <v Speaker 2>shocking to me that they are all fun in different ways. <v Speaker 2>The Cat Man, the cat is jet pack Cat could <v Speaker 2>just fly as much as it wants. There's no quote <v Speaker 2>down on that. It has like a booster thing that <v Speaker 2>can recharges, but it the cat can fly anywhere, can <v Speaker 2>shoot at people, and it heals friends, hurts enemies, and <v Speaker 2>you know people you could you could tell their friends <v Speaker 2>with it, and that's fun when you do your ultimate <v Speaker 2>it's kind of just like dive bomb in the closest enemy. <v Speaker 2>You hit the dive bomb, they they're tethered to you <v Speaker 2>for a bit against their will. And there was like <v Speaker 2>one map where you know, there's like just a cliff <v Speaker 2>and I was just dive bombing onto the tank and <v Speaker 2>just flying over the cliff. And then after a bit <v Speaker 2>was a little a little bit like that Jeff Shark <v Speaker 2>and Marvel Rivals. It was a little bit right, Okay, Yes, <v Speaker 2>I'm gonna kill the tank here every time with this one, <v Speaker 2>that's the one who's being called for nurse the most, <v Speaker 2>is the jet pack Cat. After the moment, people seem <v Speaker 2>to hate jet Packcat. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, yeah, we'll see in my h the couple matches <v Speaker 1>that I I've been able to play that Jetpack cat <v Speaker 1>is always just zipping around just because it can, and <v Speaker 1>that in the Hamster. <v Speaker 2>Yeah yeah, I mean the counter for jet Pact would <v Speaker 2>be a good hit scan DPS. I can just shoot it, <v Speaker 2>but you know, it's a small target moves pretty fast, <v Speaker 2>so it's difficult. But boy, it's fun. Even the the <v Speaker 2>other heeler as well. It's like this dude with a <v Speaker 2>kind of you know, excuse. <v Speaker 1>Me by lack of let me say it, let me say, <v Speaker 1>let me say it raided hat. <v Speaker 2>Thank you. Well, it's raiding hat but has lou k <v Speaker 2>kunglau properties because it bounces between your friends when you <v Speaker 2>throw it, and that's how you heal people. Yeah, that's fun, right, <v Speaker 2>And he also has this like chain ability that just <v Speaker 2>slows down enemy, so it's great for enemies who are <v Speaker 2>kind of diving into the team. You just hit them <v Speaker 2>with his chain and they're slow and you headshot them <v Speaker 2>and they'll die. So that's really nice too. New DPS. <v Speaker 2>The one guy is like basically a like Master Chief <v Speaker 2>as a character with the mooseet. So the first gir <v Speaker 2>just have the frag grenade, right, somehow we don't nobody <v Speaker 2>who just pushed a button to throw a normal grenade. <v Speaker 2>So he's got that. He's got this burst rifle, but <v Speaker 2>he also pushes shift and he brings out like a pistol. <v Speaker 2>It you could shoot as fast as you can hit <v Speaker 2>the button basically, and you're also faster while you have that. <v Speaker 2>And then his alt is super strong where he becomes <v Speaker 2>possessed by a demon, goes up in the air. It <v Speaker 2>could just like rain down destruction for for a little bit. <v Speaker 2>The other damn show where is like Firebase, and she's <v Speaker 2>fun because she is sort of a dive character where <v Speaker 2>she kind of has you know, one move that gets <v Speaker 2>in there, just like a dash that you can put <v Speaker 2>just eat, but where you're in vulnerable, you're just shooting <v Speaker 2>fire over the place. You can dash back out and <v Speaker 2>if enemies are on fire then to kind of take <v Speaker 2>ticking damage for a while. So she's like, there's a <v Speaker 2>simplicity to it. I really like, but it is super fun. <v Speaker 2>Then the tank Domina is one of the best tasks game, <v Speaker 2>just super super fun, also pretty powerful right now, who <v Speaker 2>knows that she's getting nerves, but she has this like <v Speaker 2>beam that like shoots like you know it's just like <v Speaker 2>a beam, but it has this burst at the end. <v Speaker 2>So it's like, so you want to track enemies, but <v Speaker 2>you want to really make sure you're on them or <v Speaker 2>even on their head for the headshot when it happens <v Speaker 2>feels so that's fine. This little like kind of like <v Speaker 2>crystal laser that is like a Grenadan old blow up. <v Speaker 2>But she could push who gets the wall if they <v Speaker 2>had a wall, there's stuns to go. She's hot as well, <v Speaker 2>but they're all hot now, they're all hot. She's pretty hot. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, Mike, I it's I think the last time I <v Speaker 1>had seriously played a little bit of Overwatch was when <v Speaker 1>Wrecking Ball the Hamster got added. Yeah, yeah, yeah, so <v Speaker 1>there there was a huge gap of there are so <v Speaker 1>many rows of characters now when I redownloaded Overwatch, and <v Speaker 1>I just decided to jump in who I with who <v Speaker 1>I thought was the hottest, and of course it was <v Speaker 1>a big sword lady. <v Speaker 2>Uh then dad? <v Speaker 1>Yeah, And you know, I've been playing a lot of <v Speaker 1>Marvel Rivals. Magic is another character I play a lot <v Speaker 1>of just because I think it's interesting to have a <v Speaker 1>melee character in a character shooter game. And there's parts <v Speaker 1>of Marvel where I feel like you were definitely at <v Speaker 1>a disadvantage playing a heavy melee character, but the kid <v Speaker 1>on Vendetta specifically, I feel like it's so well done <v Speaker 1>that I never felt like I was at a disadvantage <v Speaker 1>because she's primarily a melee focus character, but there are <v Speaker 1>ways to kind of skirt around that to get her <v Speaker 1>to just like dive in and be useful in the game, <v Speaker 1>or at least to finish people off. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, it's just a pretty well designed game, it turns out. <v Speaker 2>And I've been hearing kind of rumblings for a bit <v Speaker 2>that people have been happy with the state of Overwatch <v Speaker 2>right for like a year. And it's fun going back <v Speaker 2>because there are a lot of characters I just had <v Speaker 2>not really played that much of. Like there's Juno, who's <v Speaker 2>a healer and she kind of looks like an eighties <v Speaker 2>anime space girl, and she kind of has hover boots <v Speaker 2>again and like hover boots, right, it's a good's good thing, <v Speaker 2>and she, you know, she's just a ton of fun. Like, <v Speaker 2>they don't have very many bad characters, even though there's <v Speaker 2>so many of them. Now in my mind, I'm like, <v Speaker 2>how are you, you know, handling all these characters? Not <v Speaker 2>an unbounced messense. It was pretty good. But if you <v Speaker 2>play on comp there is a band system now, so <v Speaker 2>characters do become a problem. There was just gonna ban them. <v Speaker 2>So the Dead actually is pretty strong sometimes because of <v Speaker 2>her dive things, so she just gets banned a lot, <v Speaker 2>which sucks if you want to play vendett I suppose. <v Speaker 2>I think Domina is getting band alot. Same with jet <v Speaker 2>Pack yet at the moment and then you have quick <v Speaker 2>play if you just really want to play as people. <v Speaker 1>Mike, when do they add the kind of like perks system. <v Speaker 1>I forget what it's specifically. <v Speaker 2>I don't know, because like when I jump back into <v Speaker 2>I was like, what is this And at first I <v Speaker 2>was like, oh, I don't know if I like And <v Speaker 2>it's actually pretty fun. So and it's just basically when <v Speaker 2>a match happens at two different points, you get to <v Speaker 2>pick one of two perks. Yeah, and they're kind of <v Speaker 2>minorish things, but they could be a bigger deal like <v Speaker 2>that you know character I was talking about. She has <v Speaker 2>this kind of blaster that again it's like spurts and <v Speaker 2>one of the perks is as long as I'm hovering, <v Speaker 2>it's just a constant stream. Not so much three load, <v Speaker 2>but all of a sudden I can and like really <v Speaker 2>do either burst damage or first healing, depending on you know. <v Speaker 2>And sometimes it's like, hey, this dash ability has you know, <v Speaker 2>extra uh, you know, an extra to it. Yeah. Yeah, <v Speaker 2>So it's just things like that, and you don't have <v Speaker 2>to think, you know, it's not like a fool on Doda. <v Speaker 2>Now it's like there's fifteen choices and I have to <v Speaker 2>look up a guy to see what I need to do. It's, <v Speaker 2>you know, one of two choices. You really you just <v Speaker 2>hold down alt and right click or left click on <v Speaker 2>mouse and keyboard and you pick the thing and it's <v Speaker 2>just a nice kind of little bonus as the match <v Speaker 2>gets deeper into it. <v Speaker 1>Fantastic. We should play some Overwatch on the website. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, I think so. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, tons of characters that just shoot guns as well <v Speaker 1>if you don't want to focus on any of the abilities. <v Speaker 2>I think there was a bit there where every new <v Speaker 2>character came out and they would like have like ten <v Speaker 2>abilities and five passes, and they're kind of super complicated, <v Speaker 2>maybe over designed to me, and a lot of these <v Speaker 2>new characters. Jet Pack Cat's pretty complicated, you know. Again, <v Speaker 2>the guy who's basically just you know Halo man, I'm like, yeah, <v Speaker 2>I like, you know, because I like Soldier seventy six <v Speaker 2>a lot of character with a gun basically that's night Yeah. Yeah, yeah, <v Speaker 2>that was the that was Bester Call of Duty. Now <v Speaker 2>I have mister Halo, I'm like, yeah, the game's still <v Speaker 2>needs characters that mostly just kind of shoot things. It <v Speaker 2>feels good. Sough. Yeah. <v Speaker 1>I forget the character's name, Mike, but she is pretty <v Speaker 1>much just pulled straight from Vanquish, where you one of <v Speaker 1>your abilities is like a power slide and then you <v Speaker 1>jump out of it and you get like a boost <v Speaker 1>in the air. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, that was so sojourn I think she was at <v Speaker 2>Oh she was the one that was like there when <v Speaker 2>they did the Overwatch to Switch right exactly, and it <v Speaker 2>was like, yeah, I'm like, it's certainly a fine character. <v Speaker 2>Mom was like, I'll just play Soldier and just kind <v Speaker 2>of shoot people a bit more straightforward like and that'd <v Speaker 2>be fine. <v Speaker 1>Lots and lots of fun, uh, just like based off <v Speaker 1>of the title of this game, Jeff Grubb, I don't <v Speaker 1>know if you've been having a lot of fun because <v Speaker 1>you put on here listen up. We tried to make <v Speaker 1>those games even more extreme. Some things have to be <v Speaker 1>learned the hard way. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, this is a this is a like a sea <v Speaker 2>to like, Hey, listen up, you wanted those games, so <v Speaker 2>we made them. Now let's see you. <v Speaker 4>Clear them, of course, which is Thick the Classic, which <v Speaker 4>is a collection of real versions of those fake mobile <v Speaker 4>game ads. Oh right, So like when you like a <v Speaker 4>meta for mobile game advertising right now, which is all <v Speaker 4>about user acquisition, is you show an ad with gameplay <v Speaker 4>that someone's well, you show now with gameplay, and you <v Speaker 4>make sure it's bad gameplay, someone messing up in the game, <v Speaker 4>like the pin pulling one, which we don't see much <v Speaker 4>of anymore. But there used to be ads like a minute, <v Speaker 4>lava sitting over there, and there's gold here, and there's <v Speaker 4>lava there. If you just pull the one that has gold, <v Speaker 4>you'll get gold. So why the fuck is this guy <v Speaker 4>in this ad pulling the lava and killing the menotaur. <v Speaker 2>It's stupid. I need to go play this game to <v Speaker 2>show them how dumb they are. <v Speaker 4>Well, when you go to play those games, turns out, <v Speaker 4>in most cases they have almost nothing to do with <v Speaker 4>the ad you saw, and they're much more like you <v Speaker 4>have a village you're trying to upgrade over time, and <v Speaker 4>then maybe there's a bonus game seven hour that's like <v Speaker 4>that thing you saw in the ad. <v Speaker 2>Mate, Oh my god. So this collection, I know, right exhausting. <v Speaker 2>That's the way we live. <v Speaker 5>I don't want to be around anymore. <v Speaker 2>It sucks. And so this collection is a paid game <v Speaker 2>where they're like, no, we just actually made all those <v Speaker 2>games from the ads, including the one I got this <v Speaker 2>one for, which is the little soldiers moving left and <v Speaker 2>right shooting the enemies yea, and then like going through <v Speaker 2>like the math gates, like the math Gates get that <v Speaker 2>all the time. And I'm like, I kind of want <v Speaker 2>to play this, but I know, I know if I <v Speaker 2>pushed the button that should let me play this, I <v Speaker 2>won't get to play it exactly like I've I like <v Speaker 2>put it off for so long and then I eventually <v Speaker 2>did fall for it, and I was so disappointed. <v Speaker 4>And so I saw this, Mike, I need to like <v Speaker 4>make amends and go like pay someone who actually did <v Speaker 4>work here. And it's it's great, like and like it's <v Speaker 4>a little bit more challenging because they're not just trying <v Speaker 4>to keep you on the treadmill of playing the game <v Speaker 4>for forever. So you'll get kind of complicated math gates <v Speaker 4>where it's like divide by five or subtract by like fifty, <v Speaker 4>and you have to like real quick through the math, <v Speaker 4>like how many characters do I mean people do I have? <v Speaker 4>What would be worse? And that's kind of it's a <v Speaker 4>fun little problem to solve, So it's it's great on <v Speaker 4>steam Deck. This is not some high art, but it <v Speaker 4>is a fun example of like cool, can you take <v Speaker 4>these things that are very simple, very basic and kind <v Speaker 4>of meant to be slopped to like capture people in <v Speaker 4>a trap online and make a good game? Can you <v Speaker 4>like find the good game design? And usually yes, like that. <v Speaker 4>That's what this collection has proven. I haven't tried a <v Speaker 4>lot of the other games that are in there. They <v Speaker 4>have some other ones, but this is definitely the mode <v Speaker 4>I wanted to play, and it works well. <v Speaker 1>It's well done, lovely, lovely, fantastic. Speaking about games that <v Speaker 1>are simple and fun, Dan Riker, you've been playing the <v Speaker 1>opposite of that, a game that is very complicated. It <v Speaker 1>is fun but very very long. You checked out, and <v Speaker 1>I've been checking out mu Jenna. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, we have a longer. We did a quick look <v Speaker 3>ex with the creators and so check that out if <v Speaker 3>you want to see kind of me and Mike go <v Speaker 3>more in depth with how these runs go and everything. <v Speaker 3>But I want to bring up two specific things that <v Speaker 3>like point to like why I love this game because <v Speaker 3>you can break it in ways that if it broke <v Speaker 3>all the time, I think it would be too much. <v Speaker 3>But like I'm over fifty hours in, Bonk is over <v Speaker 3>fifty hours in, and we both have gotten like one <v Speaker 3>run that broke the game in a super fun way, <v Speaker 3>So like mine was. I had an active ability for <v Speaker 3>my cleric that throws a blessing which is like a <v Speaker 3>cruise fix thing, and it gives you like one shield <v Speaker 3>of damage no matter how much the damage is. And <v Speaker 3>then I had a passive that shared any pickups that <v Speaker 3>I got with my entire team, so every start to <v Speaker 3>the round, I could throw the damage, you know, the <v Speaker 3>cruise fixed thing, pick it up, and then all of <v Speaker 3>my team would have it, so all my team is <v Speaker 3>invincible for one hit at least, and I can stack <v Speaker 3>on top of that. <v Speaker 2>Now. <v Speaker 3>I also had a ranger that had a passive that <v Speaker 3>had double trap effects and everything, and I had a <v Speaker 3>bunch of stuff that like create spider traps, so anytime <v Speaker 3>I killed an enemy, like eight spiders would come out <v Speaker 3>normally would be four, but all of those barriers, the <v Speaker 3>crucifixes also gave all of those spiders one thing damage. <v Speaker 3>So like every single first round I had in that <v Speaker 3>game was me making all of my characters and vulnerable, <v Speaker 3>spawning a million spiders and making all the spiders and vulnerable, <v Speaker 3>and then it's a matter of watching it play out <v Speaker 3>with all these spiders going to all the enemies and <v Speaker 3>killing them all, and like, I didn't get touched that <v Speaker 3>entire run. I just destroyed everything and it felt incredible. Again, <v Speaker 3>if that was every run, or even every like twentieth run, <v Speaker 3>I think that would suck, but it was incredible. Bonk <v Speaker 3>had a one that was really cool. She had one <v Speaker 3>cat that basically became a mortal because she had a <v Speaker 3>passive called Singularity that made everything one. So she had <v Speaker 3>one HP one mana would take one damage all the time. <v Speaker 3>But she also had an item that made it so <v Speaker 3>anything that did one damage to her would make it <v Speaker 3>zero damage, so the cat could only take one damage. <v Speaker 3>But also an item that made one damage equals zero damage, <v Speaker 3>so you literally could not hurt this cat. So yeah, <v Speaker 3>it's just so awesome. And the way the game works <v Speaker 3>out too, where it's like later on in the game, <v Speaker 3>like dozens of hours in it introduces this thing where <v Speaker 3>it's like your retired cats can fight, and so it's <v Speaker 3>like then you can like kind of build this dream <v Speaker 3>team of just like Okay, well that cat's basically I mortal. <v Speaker 3>This one works really well with that one's abilities, So <v Speaker 3>I know next time I have to fight this you <v Speaker 3>know boss character that comes around every once in a while, <v Speaker 3>I've got the team put together for it and cool. <v Speaker 3>It's just tremendous. It's just every run it's a perfect <v Speaker 3>playing game. I've been flying a decent aunt lately and <v Speaker 3>like just flights fly by with it. How how many <v Speaker 3>hours would you say you've put into it now? Dan, <v Speaker 3>who it's over fifty. I haven't checked since my flights <v Speaker 3>and stuff. I bet I'm over like seventy or something now. <v Speaker 3>And I still feel like I have so so much <v Speaker 3>more to go. <v Speaker 4>I mean, and that's not just a feeling, like that's real, right, <v Speaker 4>Like the understanding here is there is hundreds of hours <v Speaker 4>of gameplay. <v Speaker 3>Yeah yeah, I could absolutely see that, and I'm not <v Speaker 3>slowing down remotely on it. <v Speaker 1>Well, going from talking about mutating small creatures to other <v Speaker 1>small creatures, perhaps pocket monsters, we've decided to stuff them <v Speaker 1>into a pinball machine because Jeff Bakolar Pokemon Pinball. <v Speaker 5>I want to thank everyone on the Internet sending me <v Speaker 5>news and information. <v Speaker 4>Nothing happens without you finding out fifty times right away exactly. <v Speaker 5>And it's the combined effort of all these random strangers <v Speaker 5>that made me fully aware that there's a pinball machine <v Speaker 5>coming out called Pokemon Pinball. That's right, folks, it's here. <v Speaker 5>Got to catch them all, and by them, I mean pinballs. <v Speaker 5>Catch all the pinballs inside the pinball machine. It's here. <v Speaker 5>I think I think we talked about this. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, I don't know. <v Speaker 5>I want to see like five or six months ago <v Speaker 5>where you know, I knew it was coming out, but <v Speaker 5>there was there was rumors, and I felt like, oh, <v Speaker 5>we could talk about the rumors. <v Speaker 2>It's all good. <v Speaker 5>Yeah, this thing's out. I've talked to people who've played it. <v Speaker 5>They are impressed. Uh, it's the newest game from Stern. <v Speaker 5>I believe it starts shipping next month, and you know, <v Speaker 5>it's like it's kind of crazy, right. I guess my <v Speaker 5>thing is like I've not seen a reaction to a <v Speaker 5>pinball announcement like this in a very long time. It <v Speaker 5>makes a lot of sense, right, it's like obviously the <v Speaker 5>most popular ip like ever, right, I mean, I won <v Speaker 5>I can't even imagine what a license like this cost, <v Speaker 5>Like that's kind of where my mind goes from, Like <v Speaker 5>what do you think it costs? <v Speaker 2>Yeah? Right, A lot, a lot? Right. Uh. <v Speaker 5>There's a collector a limited edition that they are numbering, <v Speaker 5>and I think people are like going. <v Speaker 2>Fifty seven fifty for thirteen thousand dollars yep. <v Speaker 5>And it's crazy that I think certain people like want <v Speaker 5>certain numbers because that equates the Pokemon number I got nerds, right, yeah, yeah, exactly, <v Speaker 5>fucking nerds, These fucking nerds many tables. <v Speaker 2>That's ten million dollars in revenue. <v Speaker 5>Like that's yeah, So like you gotta imagine, like maybe <v Speaker 5>it's two million dollars to license Pokemon. <v Speaker 2>I don't know. <v Speaker 5>I gotta imagine maybe it's more. Yeah, so you know, <v Speaker 5>I don't know. I don't I don't claim to know <v Speaker 5>the answer to that question. That's none of my uh, <v Speaker 5>it's out of my uh purview. But yeah, the you <v Speaker 5>know that, have you guys seen the design of the playfield. <v Speaker 1>Yeah. <v Speaker 2>Yeah. Also I've been watching stro I love that. It's <v Speaker 2>because I'm old. I like that it's very original. One <v Speaker 2>undred and fifty one seemed it's kind of kind of <v Speaker 2>it's taking off from the anime specifically, like kind of <v Speaker 2>one of the big centerpiece things is the meuth On <v Speaker 2>air balloon kind of drops down you can get it, <v Speaker 2>and I love that. That's fantastic. I love the little <v Speaker 2>masterball is what you grab onto for the kind of <v Speaker 2>you know, the launcher plungers, Yeah, the plunger is that <v Speaker 2>what it's called the plunch area. <v Speaker 1>Yeah. <v Speaker 5>I don't know if that's in all of the versions. <v Speaker 5>That might so. So like all payball games, there's a <v Speaker 5>small medium in large, right, there's a pro, a premium, <v Speaker 5>and a collector's at least how Stern sort of categorizes it. <v Speaker 5>I it might be in all of them. I don't know. <v Speaker 5>Usually that's the thing that they reserve for, like the <v Speaker 5>premium or above. But yeah, I think it's like a <v Speaker 5>you know, the hardest thing with all this is like, yeah, <v Speaker 5>the theme inclusion is a is a tough sort of <v Speaker 5>thread to needle, and then it's like is the game <v Speaker 5>fun and by all accounts. It looks really fun. Obviously <v Speaker 5>the objective is to battle and capture Pokemon. Sure, from <v Speaker 5>what I understand, like they will be adding more like <v Speaker 5>it's gonna be update, just like they update games. Now <v Speaker 5>that each one of these games is connected to the Internet, <v Speaker 5>they can change the rules set and they can change <v Speaker 5>around the you know, the video screen and the graphics <v Speaker 5>and the music and stuff like that. This thing is <v Speaker 5>it's gonna it's yeah, it's gonna be great. I've I've <v Speaker 5>been in touch with my buddies at turn. I think <v Speaker 5>I'll get my hands on one maybe this summer. Yeah, <v Speaker 5>and I'll be able to coming over and you guys <v Speaker 5>are more than welcome to fly out and stay in <v Speaker 5>my murder basement while we play. <v Speaker 2>Pokemon Sean and I will out. That's finsition. <v Speaker 5>That's fine. Yeah, it's very exciting. Uh, I'm I'm super <v Speaker 5>jazz about it because you know, all these things really <v Speaker 5>do just kind of like add to the generalized interest <v Speaker 5>in the game. And I think, you know, this one, <v Speaker 5>I'm curious to see them in the wild and see <v Speaker 5>like what the attention is, right, because this is a <v Speaker 5>game where you're where like this is the first this <v Speaker 5>is going to be the first pimball machine for a <v Speaker 5>lot of places, like you know, like this is an <v Speaker 5>easy cell where it's like, oh, we've never had an arcade, <v Speaker 5>but let's get Pokemon pimball. <v Speaker 2>Oh that's like such an easy cell. <v Speaker 1>I could see so many card stores opening up, Jeff <v Speaker 1>that like will buy this because I'm saying, hey, you <v Speaker 1>want to come in for Pokemon cards. While you're waiting <v Speaker 1>in line, hopefully no one gets stabbed, go play the <v Speaker 1>Pokemon pinball game exactly. <v Speaker 5>I you know, for people who are trying to get <v Speaker 5>that collectors a dish. I I just there were the limited. <v Speaker 5>I forget how they categorize. It's just you're just not <v Speaker 5>gonna the limited. You're I just don't think you're getting it. <v Speaker 5>Like sorry to deflate. <v Speaker 2>Your your ear balloon there. <v Speaker 5>But these things are going to be a really hot commodity. <v Speaker 5>But uh, it's nice to the limited edition. They like <v Speaker 5>it's painted purple, all the legs and everything has got <v Speaker 5>led lights and like the sides and stuff like that. <v Speaker 5>They really go all out for those limited But yeah, <v Speaker 5>there it is. It's happening. It starts at Yeah. <v Speaker 1>Oh I was going to say, uh, I had a <v Speaker 1>pinball story to share with you that I was waiting <v Speaker 1>for the pods because. <v Speaker 5>Oh my gosh, Jan your first pinball story. <v Speaker 2>No no, no, no, no no no. <v Speaker 1>I've played pinball try house, but not a story. Sure, sure, sure. <v Speaker 1>I was celebrating a friends birthday over the weekend at <v Speaker 1>one of these barcades we have here in San Francisco. Yea, <v Speaker 1>and let me tell you, Jeff, this is one of <v Speaker 1>those where it's like, Okay, there's a DDR machine, there's <v Speaker 1>time crisis, all your classic ones. But at the pinball <v Speaker 1>corner it was absolutely packed with sickos because people were <v Speaker 1>like actually putting a token on the machine, saying like, no, <v Speaker 1>I got next after you. And then my friend disappeared <v Speaker 1>for a while. She's not super into games, but you know, <v Speaker 1>a barcade's a fun place to have a birthday. I'm <v Speaker 1>looking around before I'm dipping out in homegirl is like eyes, <v Speaker 1>dead set focused. She is in the zone playing the <v Speaker 1>Foo Fighters pinball machine. Damn, and I didn't realize she <v Speaker 1>had quickly become a pinball sicco and had come to <v Speaker 1>this barcade every other week to play this specific Foo <v Speaker 1>Fighters pinball machine. <v Speaker 5>I believe it that's awesome. <v Speaker 2>I mean, yeah, it's I don't know. <v Speaker 5>I don't know why I have this sickness. <v Speaker 2>I just I was born with it. It's good. <v Speaker 5>It's good. I like, yeah, no, that's a great game. Yeah, <v Speaker 5>I think uh oh, and Mike. I looked at the site. <v Speaker 5>Apparently the limited is the only one that comes with <v Speaker 5>the poke ball. <v Speaker 2>They get. They know, we want that master ball. We <v Speaker 2>got to pull on a master ball. <v Speaker 5>I'm sorry to burst your bubble, but uh check it out. <v Speaker 5>The playfield is gorgeous. <v Speaker 2>It really didn't. <v Speaker 5>Yeah, unbelievable job designing this thing. <v Speaker 2>I was searching real quick to see you like to <v Speaker 2>see more about it. <v Speaker 4>And it's very funny, like you're right, Like the Pokemon <v Speaker 4>fans are coming here and they're like, well, let's see <v Speaker 4>how much this thing costs, and they're really shocked at <v Speaker 4>the cost of pinball tables. It's like, oh, honey, this <v Speaker 4>it's not for you. <v Speaker 5>Yeah okay, oh yeah, Like as if any Pokemon freak <v Speaker 5>would be surprised by the cost of anything. <v Speaker 2>That's what That's what I thought. <v Speaker 4>But it's like they're like, even compared to the cards, <v Speaker 4>this is expensive, Like, yeah, it's a pinball machine. <v Speaker 2>You're supposed to be making revenue off of it for <v Speaker 2>the next like five years. Yes, it's owner operators. Yeah. <v Speaker 5>I think you are going to see obviously, just like <v Speaker 5>with everything Pokemon, you are going to see resilers, you know, <v Speaker 5>like I stalking a buddy mine. <v Speaker 1>Uh. <v Speaker 5>Anthony, friend of the front of the site, was saying that, <v Speaker 5>you know, people are already relisting their numbered ones on <v Speaker 5>you know, the biggest pinball market places. It's called pin Side, <v Speaker 5>and it's just you know, these things are going to <v Speaker 5>start fetching insane amounts of after market pricing, and it's <v Speaker 5>just like, yeah, you know, it's. <v Speaker 4>Going to get one or whichever one likes Pokemon Logan Paul, <v Speaker 4>Maybe it doesn't matter. <v Speaker 2>They're barely human, jaw is broken. <v Speaker 5>Yeah, who Daisy, Yeah, I don't know. It's it's it's wild, <v Speaker 5>also wild. Did you guys see grow Up? You probably <v Speaker 5>were the only one watching USA Hockey over the weekend. <v Speaker 2>You see that. <v Speaker 5>Pokemon sponsored the the intermission. <v Speaker 4>To sponsoring almost the entire Olympics, the segments for a <v Speaker 4>bunch of different sports. Yes, it's kind of yeah, it's <v Speaker 4>kind of what I mean, it's thirtieth anniversary stuff. <v Speaker 2>A're gonna Pokemon Day later this month. Uh but yeah, <v Speaker 2>and they're just doing the commercial from the Super Bowl <v Speaker 2>over and over like that's the ad campaign. It was. <v Speaker 2>It was. I was just so wild. <v Speaker 5>I was like watching the the US FIRSUT Germany and <v Speaker 5>they're like, we'll be right back after the university report, <v Speaker 5>brought to you by Pokemon. I'm just like, huh, that's <v Speaker 5>kind of cool. <v Speaker 2>It's better than like when it's. <v Speaker 4>Like like a prescription company where it's Eli Lilly or <v Speaker 4>whatever the fuck the company. <v Speaker 5>I'll take it all day. So that was a fun <v Speaker 5>little thing to see happened. But yes, I don't think <v Speaker 5>we are prepared for just how much twenty twenty six <v Speaker 5>is possible Pokemon. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, you're right. <v Speaker 4>I think Pokemon Day is really going to illuminate just <v Speaker 4>how much Post second ten days. <v Speaker 2>Right ye? Yes? <v Speaker 1>Or Pokemon Worlds this year is going to be here <v Speaker 1>in San Francisco. Oh wow, right, God, I have to <v Speaker 1>weasel my way in. And I wonder if they're actually <v Speaker 1>going to have any of those machines uh playing good. <v Speaker 5>I almost guarantee it. Like these things find their way, <v Speaker 5>you know, they always build like ten prototypes that are <v Speaker 5>just meant to be shipped everywhere and on display everywhere, <v Speaker 5>and I'm sure that'll be like part of the thing, <v Speaker 5>you know, I was I had, you know, I only <v Speaker 5>saw the reveal of the playfield like last week, and <v Speaker 5>you know, everyone's it's always like, like I said in <v Speaker 5>the beginning, it's like, is this gonna play well? <v Speaker 2>Right? <v Speaker 5>Like, because a lot of things get designed and you <v Speaker 5>see that and you're like, oh, this is gonna shoot <v Speaker 5>well or these shots gonna be like reliably accurate, like <v Speaker 5>can I do this thing? And you know, sometimes I <v Speaker 5>believe it's a two flipper design where there's only the <v Speaker 5>two at the bottom of the playfield just looks good, <v Speaker 5>just looks like it's gonna really be an overall kind <v Speaker 5>of like smooth kind of gameplay loop. And I'm really <v Speaker 5>excited to see how it plays. And the best part <v Speaker 5>obviously is like also you know, the video integration and <v Speaker 5>what they all did with the toys on the playfield. <v Speaker 5>Like I'm pumped. I can't wait to see. I'll probably <v Speaker 5>see you probably start seeing it in the wild in <v Speaker 5>the next month or so. <v Speaker 1>Lovely exciting, very exciting. Uh, Jeff Greb last game here <v Speaker 1>on the docket. I need to ask you if it <v Speaker 1>has gone exciting. We checked this out last week on <v Speaker 1>UPF God of War Sons of Sparta. <v Speaker 2>Yes, this this is a pickle this game, what is <v Speaker 2>its ai? <v Speaker 4>It's pickle Crados, right, he's so wacky he wants to <v Speaker 4>get that McDonald's. That's right, and playing this thing and <v Speaker 4>it's a metro venue and I like Metroid Venas and <v Speaker 4>everything else about it is kind of like low key repulsive. <v Speaker 3>There's something gross about just looking at it. <v Speaker 4>Yeah, it's it's it's it's a So it is like <v Speaker 4>two point five D, even though it doesn't look like it, <v Speaker 4>because the characters are clearly three D models that have <v Speaker 4>had a filter placed on top of them to make <v Speaker 4>them look more pixelated, and it and it doesn't like <v Speaker 4>it's trying to be like, hey, we are both a <v Speaker 4>modern game and a retro game. <v Speaker 2>And it's like what fucking retro game you talk about? <v Speaker 2>Like Jaguar Like like it's like, is it like the <v Speaker 2>worst possible retro thing you could be pulling from? H <v Speaker 2>Gerson was. <v Speaker 4>Saying, it kind of reminds me of like the Zelda <v Speaker 4>CDI games and like it some of that energy to <v Speaker 4>its visuals where it's just so off and weird, but <v Speaker 4>as a metro Evania, it's getting solid, it's getting better. <v Speaker 4>It's it's not great, Like it's so far away from <v Speaker 4>like Metroid dread Like compare this to Prince of Persia <v Speaker 4>The Lost Crown, and it's like, that's how you be <v Speaker 4>Soft was treating. It's like long running franchise that it <v Speaker 4>wanted to make a Metroid venue for and it made <v Speaker 4>a Game of the Year worthy game versus Sony doing <v Speaker 4>this with God of War And I'm just like, how <v Speaker 4>did do this. <v Speaker 2>Like to be more like Ubisoft? Wow? Yeah, Like that's <v Speaker 2>a bad look, Like why would you do it this way? <v Speaker 2>I'm confused. <v Speaker 3>It is insane and I said it on the on <v Speaker 3>your PF. But like if you look at the list <v Speaker 3>of games on Mega Cat's websites that they've worked on, <v Speaker 3>and there's just a bunch of very like AI look <v Speaker 3>in Mobile looking just honestly, they just don't they look <v Speaker 3>like a certain type of game, and then all of <v Speaker 3>a sudden they get a God of War game and <v Speaker 3>it's like, how. <v Speaker 2>The fuck did that happen? That's insane to. <v Speaker 1>Me, And as far as I've been able to like <v Speaker 1>just look on the internet, there's not a lot of <v Speaker 1>crossover specifically with Sony and Mega Cat. <v Speaker 3>Right, like like that rest Quest game that was bad <v Speaker 3>and that was multi Yeah. Yeah, it's baffling. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, so I don't know how it happened. I uh. <v Speaker 4>And as I'm playing, it's just like how do these <v Speaker 4>decisions get made? Like even the decision to play as young. <v Speaker 2>Pre Credos Credos where doesn't look or behave like Crados <v Speaker 2>yet other than he's kind of stern with his younger brother. <v Speaker 1>The other aspect is like when I think of God <v Speaker 1>of War, I think of Krados using the Blades of Chaos, <v Speaker 1>and here you're grubbed. Does the weapon change or are <v Speaker 1>you only ever using a spear? <v Speaker 2>You're upgrading the sphere so far. <v Speaker 4>There might be other weapons, but so far, I just <v Speaker 4>have a spear and you know that it's fun. But <v Speaker 4>you're right, I'm not like doing the stuff that's incredible. <v Speaker 4>And like that first God of War where like that <v Speaker 4>combo system with the blades of the Blades of cast <v Speaker 4>We was so satisfying. <v Speaker 2>It's none of that is here. <v Speaker 5>This is just not a God of War game and <v Speaker 5>they just made it a guy. <v Speaker 3>I think it is so weird that the way they like, <v Speaker 3>I think it's on the store page. It was like <v Speaker 3>God of War meets retro, and it's like, hang on, <v Speaker 3>you can't just say retro because it's like a side <v Speaker 3>scrolling metro, a vanea like yeah, a lot of modern <v Speaker 3>game silk, you know. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, Sosak would never be like we're a retro game. No, <v Speaker 2>it's a very new game that happens to be two D. <v Speaker 3>But it can't seem to decide like it's trying to <v Speaker 3>occasionally do retro stuff because like a lot of times <v Speaker 3>the music is just that, just like chanting God of <v Speaker 3>War music. And then you will fight that boss we <v Speaker 3>fought on UPF and it's. <v Speaker 2>Like did do do do do do? Dude? <v Speaker 3>It's like retro like or chip to what doing? <v Speaker 2>Pick up your mind if they wanted to do like <v Speaker 2>the Bloodstained Curse of the Moon thing, right, and like <v Speaker 2>that's like right, like we're trying to make Castlevania three again. Yeah. <v Speaker 1>Oh, and then it had like really really shitty scan <v Speaker 1>line filters that you could throw the classic yeah. <v Speaker 4>Yeah uh, and then all the characters are kind of <v Speaker 4>like bad, like I just haven't enjoyed them yet. What <v Speaker 4>we're gonna ask, like, so there is a co op <v Speaker 4>mode in this, right, I wonder if that is interesting. <v Speaker 2>I haven't. I haven't looked at all because actually, yeah, <v Speaker 2>I'm I don't know, maybe I'm maybe I'm wrong, because <v Speaker 2>you know, with his brother, I think like you could <v Speaker 2>play the game with one person is great. <v Speaker 3>One is I think I saw people saying that, like <v Speaker 3>it lists it as a two player game, but people <v Speaker 3>couldn't figure out how to unlock it, so like that <v Speaker 3>was like the day came out, So I don't know <v Speaker 3>if they figured it out by now. Okay, with chat <v Speaker 3>heerson don't have to beat the game to do co op. <v Speaker 2>That we get to unlock the cop you should you <v Speaker 2>should just happen. <v Speaker 3>It's just for challenges after you beat the game. <v Speaker 2>Oh okay, ill never mind. That would be interesting because <v Speaker 2>you know, we don't have too many co ops. Metro <v Speaker 2>Venue's basically you've got your Guacamele two and then. <v Speaker 3>I'm just going off with Chad says here. <v Speaker 4>But yeah, it's an extremely weird game. It is so <v Speaker 4>weird to the point of like I just wish someone <v Speaker 4>would go tell me exactly how it came to be <v Speaker 4>and why, you know, God of War is not some <v Speaker 4>like middling franchise that hasn't been footing. Uh, Like, why <v Speaker 4>does like Horizon get like game after game and gets <v Speaker 4>like this new like kind of you know, I don't <v Speaker 4>know if you love the art style, but that new <v Speaker 4>multiplayer mode at least looks like it had effort put <v Speaker 4>into it and thought and and this just feels like <v Speaker 4>such an afterthought that I really don't know how we <v Speaker 4>ended up. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, I mean, because you've been talking about this game, right, <v Speaker 2>and you know, I definitely have a different thing in <v Speaker 2>my mind when you're talking about it, the same God <v Speaker 2>of War Metroid Vein, And I don't think this game <v Speaker 2>looks like like, oh got off, like an embarrassment, right, <v Speaker 2>even that it looks a bit off. Even the thirty <v Speaker 2>dollars price, that thing that's generally what these games do cost. <v Speaker 2>I know, soak Song was twenty bucks, so song is <v Speaker 2>these games? No, these games cost like Prints of Persia <v Speaker 2>that is thirty like nine souls, it's thirty. That is <v Speaker 2>normally the price of these. It was sixty, so yeah, <v Speaker 2>you know it was when Soaksong was twenty dollars, other <v Speaker 2>indie people were mad at them, like, ah, how can <v Speaker 2>we compete? They can make their games so cheap. Now, <v Speaker 2>you know, maybe it's thirty dollars or a game that <v Speaker 2>doesn't look good, that's the issue, right, But I don't know. Yeah, <v Speaker 2>part of me is like I like Metroevidia so much, <v Speaker 2>I you know, watching definitely, I'm like, I bet I <v Speaker 2>would still enjoy this fine. I'm I'm enjoying parts of it, <v Speaker 2>and it is. <v Speaker 4>I think it's getting better the more I play, and <v Speaker 4>the more it's like opening up and getting more abilities <v Speaker 4>and there's less of the setup, so the kind of <v Speaker 4>the game's just kind of going. <v Speaker 2>Uh, the running and jumping around like feels okay. <v Speaker 4>Like again, it doesn't feels good as a dread uh <v Speaker 4>certainly doesn't feel anywhere close to a Silk Song, but <v Speaker 4>it's beyond serviceable. <v Speaker 2>It's good. <v Speaker 4>So I'm I played some more this morning. I'm gonna <v Speaker 4>stick with it for at least a little bit longer <v Speaker 4>I get some other games out. <v Speaker 2>Of the way. <v Speaker 1>So yeah, yeah, when when we were hearing the rumblings <v Speaker 1>of this, I decided to kind of go back to <v Speaker 1>that PSP God of War game. I think it's yeah, <v Speaker 1>Ghost of Sparta. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, Yeah, that game looked good. Yeah, and that was <v Speaker 2>on a Those. <v Speaker 4>Are both very good, probably one of the most impressive <v Speaker 4>PSP games, like It's right that you know, yeah, probably that. <v Speaker 1>And it just seems a weird handling of the franchise, <v Speaker 1>like we've mentioned previously, of like giving this to like <v Speaker 1>a different studio that's super external and the end product <v Speaker 1>being what we get. I would suggest we've had like <v Speaker 1>the the conversation now of comparing it to Silk Song, Dread, <v Speaker 1>Prince of Persia, Odds, are you already have those other <v Speaker 1>three games? And I think maybe we should just replay <v Speaker 1>Dreads even. <v Speaker 2>Like stuff like you know, like Mio right is newer <v Speaker 2>this year and I don't think a ton of people <v Speaker 2>have probably played that yet, and maybe like, oh maybe <v Speaker 2>MEO's no Silk Song, it still looks more interesting than <v Speaker 2>this though. <v Speaker 4>Yeah, it just like it is confusing to the point <v Speaker 4>of like when most people look at this game, they <v Speaker 4>do not like come away wanting to buy it. And <v Speaker 4>it's like, did that not happen at PlayStation? <v Speaker 2>Did that not? <v Speaker 4>Like when they were looking at it, they were they <v Speaker 4>just saying, well, it's god avoor, it needs to look <v Speaker 4>this way because I don't know that's not true either, <v Speaker 4>Like how does it end up looking like this to <v Speaker 4>the point where it is so unappealing to the casual <v Speaker 4>viewer that you are just doing a disservice to it <v Speaker 4>by showing it off. So yeah, it's confusing. I don't <v Speaker 4>know how. <v Speaker 2>And there's just there are just so many more interesting <v Speaker 2>places you could have set one of these, you know, <v Speaker 2>I realized I probably can't push the four the story <v Speaker 2>forward with one of these. It's not going to take <v Speaker 2>place after Ragnarok, but you could have done it in <v Speaker 2>between three. You could even have done in the middle <v Speaker 2>of like Angry Krados still and like have one that's <v Speaker 2>you know, it is the Blades of Chaos and the <v Speaker 2>other stuff like that. I don't know how many people <v Speaker 2>were hankering for fifteen year old Kratos game, right, you <v Speaker 2>could do like some like you could just make it <v Speaker 2>a uh. He falls through. <v Speaker 4>A god timehole and time pauses, so the rest of <v Speaker 4>the story is untouched, and he goes into this alternate <v Speaker 4>dimension and fights a bunch of the Greek gods again, Like, yeah, <v Speaker 4>you can make shit up to like make this game <v Speaker 4>look the way you needed to make it look. <v Speaker 2>And it's so far away. <v Speaker 1>From that, they flights around with the story a little <v Speaker 1>bit with that that DLC that they had for Ragnarrock Valhalla. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, yeah, yeah, and that was alf that was that's <v Speaker 2>like the latest thing we got so far by that <v Speaker 2>mode was awesome. Actually, that think was great. Yeah. Yeah, <v Speaker 2>it's like, you know, I get we couldn't do the <v Speaker 2>Egypt thing here or something like that, but maybe maybe <v Speaker 2>you should. <v Speaker 4>I don't know, Uh, Okay, I mean the game's reviewing <v Speaker 4>better than I thought it would. It's a seventy two <v Speaker 4>one open critic, so, uh, like I said, it is <v Speaker 4>getting better the more I play it. I think that's <v Speaker 4>what a lot of reviewers are saying. Whereas the more <v Speaker 4>you play it, more is there. And so it starts <v Speaker 4>off kind of at its lowest point and by the <v Speaker 4>time you're done it, it's a much improved game. So <v Speaker 4>but i'd like, I just would not reck like who's <v Speaker 4>gonna be like, Okay, but I still hate looking at it, <v Speaker 4>so I'm not going to buy it now. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, And I don't know if we'll talk about High <v Speaker 1>Guard continued weirdness today. <v Speaker 2>Probably the site is like down as of when we've <v Speaker 2>been recorded saying it was hacked. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, but like I think, I'm I'm, I think we're <v Speaker 1>all learning that placement in a show definitely matters, because <v Speaker 1>showing God of War Sons of Sparta way after that <v Speaker 1>Castlevania game I think was a huge disservice because like <v Speaker 1>that Castlevania game, I can't stop thinking about it, I. <v Speaker 2>Was saying for the talkover new Castlevania. Yeah, that was great. <v Speaker 2>I'm very excited about that. And and oh, oh that <v Speaker 2>Star Wars racing game that I picked it. Some of <v Speaker 2>your like, oh, it's kind of a spicy pick Mike, <v Speaker 2>I'm like, oh, did I blow it? And it looks good? Awesome, <v Speaker 2>very happy. <v Speaker 1>All right, Well, that was a long seg talking about games. <v Speaker 1>We're gonna take a quick, maybe an extended, little bricky <v Speaker 1>break here, and then we'll get on the other side <v Speaker 1>talk about news right after this. <v Speaker 2>This is to throw up with spitting. Hey, yeah, let's uh, <v Speaker 2>let's do this news. And let let's start with what <v Speaker 2>is always the most things, the most fun thing. To <v Speaker 2>start with that Ramageddon. <v Speaker 4>Ram is expensive, it's only going to get more expensive, <v Speaker 4>and we continue to hear how it's going to affect <v Speaker 4>everything in our lives, but also video game consoles PlayStation <v Speaker 4>six possibly being held on by Sony until twenty twenty <v Speaker 4>eight or maybe even twenty twenty nine. <v Speaker 2>Now no what uh huh. <v Speaker 4>They this comes from Bloomberg, who's doing reporting on this. <v Speaker 4>They also say that the switch to is very likely <v Speaker 4>to get a price increase because of this. It's gonna <v Speaker 4>be hard for Nintendo to avoid that. But yeah, apparently <v Speaker 4>Sony was looking at like twenty twenty seven to get <v Speaker 4>things started with the next generation, and now they are <v Speaker 4>pushing that back. And the popular response to this has <v Speaker 4>been like good, uh, we're We're gonna be happy to <v Speaker 4>stick with the PS five even longer. But yeah, this <v Speaker 4>is a generation that's had a lot of reasons to <v Speaker 4>be prolonged after COVID, and there's still a lot of <v Speaker 4>games getting canceled throughout that time, So this generation taking <v Speaker 4>a long time to feel like it got started. And <v Speaker 4>also the rush to PS six in a time where <v Speaker 4>where it's like, how are you going to market that? <v Speaker 4>How are you going to make that feel special? It's <v Speaker 4>such a huge question mark. <v Speaker 2>It's like, yeah, they might as well take their time, <v Speaker 2>even though when they do this, it's probably still going <v Speaker 2>to be the most expensive console like there is there <v Speaker 2>any way in your guys's eyes that the PS six <v Speaker 2>comes out whenever it does and it is less expensive <v Speaker 2>than what a PS five pro is now an yea eight, <v Speaker 2>I think, yeah, it's like seven to fifty or something <v Speaker 2>like that. <v Speaker 1>Oh, it's that a PS six is probably gonna be <v Speaker 1>like around eight. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, they're gonna be right. <v Speaker 3>This is fucking me up. The PS five and the <v Speaker 3>Xbox the current one. We're twenty twenty sixty No. <v Speaker 2>Those just kid Yeah, no, right, it's been that long <v Speaker 2>since the pandemic. Oh it's rough. <v Speaker 3>Huh what that was was a brand new I just <v Speaker 3>picked that up. <v Speaker 2>Okay, it messed with our sense of time for sure. <v Speaker 4>And but you know, a big part with a big <v Speaker 4>problem with these consoles is just like the PS four <v Speaker 4>was supported for so long and the exclusive games never <v Speaker 4>really felt like that much different than what we got <v Speaker 4>last gen. So people are still, i think, in many cases, <v Speaker 4>sitting around going when is this really gonna get going? <v Speaker 4>And that's picked up a little bit in like the <v Speaker 4>last year or so. But hopefully now with this extra time, <v Speaker 4>they can really make this console generation feel like it <v Speaker 4>was worth it. <v Speaker 5>Uh yeah, yeah it wasna I was gonna say like <v Speaker 5>part of that too, is because they have to like <v Speaker 5>lock in specs, right like, and it's you know, you <v Speaker 5>are handcuffing yourself to a thing that will rapidly age <v Speaker 5>if you you know, there's a balance, right of, like <v Speaker 5>committing and locking in those specs, And I think that <v Speaker 5>plays into it. <v Speaker 4>I also think like there probably are they and they <v Speaker 4>probably are locked in right now yeaheah. <v Speaker 5>I also think, like I don't know, like I outside <v Speaker 5>of the you know, understanding that people for whatever reason <v Speaker 5>seem to be willing to continue to pay prices that <v Speaker 5>are pornographic in nature, right of, like how much these <v Speaker 5>things cost. I also think, you know, a lot changes <v Speaker 5>in a couple of years. I don't know, a lot <v Speaker 5>does change, and the world economy can change. And I <v Speaker 5>also think like there. <v Speaker 2>Might be. <v Speaker 5>I don't know, more abundance of you know, RAM from <v Speaker 5>another supplier. <v Speaker 2>I mean, yeah, I think, I think. <v Speaker 5>I think the China conversation is like not, I don't <v Speaker 5>think there's a dead end there, yeah. <v Speaker 4>Like right, none of that's going to happen in the <v Speaker 4>next year, for sure, You're right, it will take a <v Speaker 4>couple of years. The like let's say, like AI fell through, <v Speaker 4>right now and all of that RAM that was getting <v Speaker 4>sold to those AI data centers was just now, hey, <v Speaker 4>we were going to give this to them, but they <v Speaker 4>went out of business, so now we have it. <v Speaker 2>Up for grabs. <v Speaker 4>A lot of that stuff is like high bandwidth memory <v Speaker 4>that would still be really prohibitively expensive to put into <v Speaker 4>a into a video card or a console or something <v Speaker 4>like that. <v Speaker 2>It's not the same thing. They have just deemphasized their <v Speaker 2>efforts to keep up with DDR five and DDR six <v Speaker 2>and DDR seven and DDR six x or whatever. So <v Speaker 2>it's a real mess. <v Speaker 4>Like it's not like going to be like suddenly there <v Speaker 4>is one magic bullet that comes along and makes things better. <v Speaker 2>It will have to be like sustained. <v Speaker 4>Efforts from these companies working in that direction, and right <v Speaker 4>now there is no effort whatsoever to improve it. So <v Speaker 4>we are a long ways off from this being a <v Speaker 4>market that is saying in any way, And in the meantime, <v Speaker 4>if you are trying to say, hey, we are trying <v Speaker 4>to design a PS six that's going to have what <v Speaker 4>they say, thirty gigabytes of RAM or something like that, <v Speaker 4>it was like twenty four to thirty gigabytes of DDR seven. <v Speaker 4>That's a very expensive proposition and they're going to have <v Speaker 4>to kind of figure out what that looks like and <v Speaker 4>if they can keep that going and actually deliver a <v Speaker 4>product that has those specs. <v Speaker 2>All right, that's continuing on this thread. <v Speaker 4>Steam deck stock issues are basically confirmed by Valve, and <v Speaker 4>they said that there will be be intermittent shortages for <v Speaker 4>all the reasons you think. <v Speaker 2>It's about the RAM and the storage costs. <v Speaker 4>Both those are going up in price and it's causing delays, <v Speaker 4>especially in places like United States. <v Speaker 2>Whe then there's tariffs on top of that. So Valve's <v Speaker 2>saying expect these intermittent shortages to happen throughout the rest <v Speaker 2>of the year. At the very least. <v Speaker 4>It's things are just gonna be bad and kind of <v Speaker 4>get worse, and they're gonna be expensive, and they're gonna <v Speaker 4>get more expensive. It is a hobby that was already <v Speaker 4>pushing a lot of people away. How do all these <v Speaker 4>companies sort of navigate this? <v Speaker 2>Is there? I mean, is there an answer? Yeah? <v Speaker 1>I don't think there's an easy answer, Greb. I think <v Speaker 1>companies are just gonna have to rely on what we've <v Speaker 1>already got, right, and folks that didn't pick up a <v Speaker 1>Steam Deck, don't have a PS five. They're just kind <v Speaker 1>of be left out in the dust. <v Speaker 4>Yeah, Apparently in the UK, PlayStation started a PlayStation rental <v Speaker 4>program where you can rent it for like ten pounds <v Speaker 4>a month or something like that. <v Speaker 2>So, man, the other time I rented a game consoles, <v Speaker 2>when I rented the Dreamcast before it came out from <v Speaker 2>my Hollywood video, I rented a PlayStation one. Yeah, a <v Speaker 2>Tosha Dan was real good. Actually, y'all have heard me <v Speaker 2>talk about libraries. Some libraries will let you do the <v Speaker 2>same for so, so go investigate. <v Speaker 4>They didn't say like when to expect this to get <v Speaker 4>cleared up, and they don't know. <v Speaker 2>Uh. <v Speaker 4>And then the a sus rog Xbox ally X got <v Speaker 4>a big price increase in Japan, went up by around <v Speaker 4>two hundred dollars. <v Speaker 2>So yeah, and. <v Speaker 4>That that is on top of that that or that <v Speaker 4>is due to once again the memory. That thing has <v Speaker 4>like twenty four gigabytes of dd R five of the <v Speaker 4>lower powered variety, and like you can get a model <v Speaker 4>that has a terabyte of storage, and both of those <v Speaker 4>are getting very hit arter. <v Speaker 2>How much do we need all this memory? We can <v Speaker 2>make these game causles out memory. Why do that to <v Speaker 2>remember so much things? That's pretty stupid. <v Speaker 5>And I mean, Mike, it's got a point. <v Speaker 4>No, I like, maybe the frustrating thing here is how <v Speaker 4>stupid that these companies that are causing this problem. <v Speaker 2>I think Chris Person pointed. <v Speaker 4>This out, like, you need a device that has memory <v Speaker 4>to be able to use the cloud and all this <v Speaker 4>AI stuff in the first place. So if you're just <v Speaker 4>gonna make that stuff more expensive, you're gonna maybe price <v Speaker 4>people out from connecting to it in. <v Speaker 2>The first place. Uh, it's just a bad, bad guy, <v Speaker 2>you know, across the board. <v Speaker 3>Need you to uh identify something here, Okay, is this <v Speaker 3>a is this a tariff thing, an AI thing, both <v Speaker 3>or more complicated? <v Speaker 2>Oh yeah, it's all those. Yeah, it's all the above. Okay. <v Speaker 4>So it's primarily a AI thing that is causing the <v Speaker 4>biggest pressure on the cost. <v Speaker 3>Of because centers are using too much and they're buying <v Speaker 3>up all this stuff. <v Speaker 4>They are they are paying like a premium on top <v Speaker 4>of the already high costs for these things so that <v Speaker 4>they can get priority and get first in line, and <v Speaker 4>so all this money is just impossible for these companies <v Speaker 4>that are publicly traded companies to ignore, and so they <v Speaker 4>they aren't ignoring it. And because they are a finite <v Speaker 4>they have finite resources, they are ignoring the traditional markets <v Speaker 4>that create the memory that went in your consoles or <v Speaker 4>witt in your phone or written all these other things. <v Speaker 4>Uh So, like they aren't building up those manufacturing plants anymore. <v Speaker 4>They're kind of letting them just run as they were, <v Speaker 4>and that is meaning that they can't keep up with <v Speaker 4>the rising demand that is happening on that side. And <v Speaker 4>then for the United the United States specifically, then tariffs <v Speaker 4>get piled on top of that. So this already bad <v Speaker 4>cost is going. <v Speaker 2>Up even. <v Speaker 3>Just making more right, that's it's more complicated. <v Speaker 4>So there are three companies that make it six Uh yes, <v Speaker 4>they make they make memory, sk High Nix, Samsung and. <v Speaker 2>You see is it Micron? Maybe it's my I think <v Speaker 2>it's should make it Ram to the giant pop store problem. <v Speaker 5>The problem with RAM is that you can't just make it. <v Speaker 5>You need like a factory that takes like seven years <v Speaker 5>to build, and you need like a very clean. <v Speaker 3>Three D M Yeah, you get on the RAM grift. <v Speaker 3>We gotta do that, Come. <v Speaker 2>On, Chuck, solve it. <v Speaker 4>Uh yeah, it's uh Micron, Like there's three companies and <v Speaker 4>Micron left the consumer space last year because of this. <v Speaker 4>They're like, we can make way more money just sewing <v Speaker 4>it to the data center. So fuck consumers, and some <v Speaker 4>of you. <v Speaker 1>Related to fuck consumers. I someone posted in chat and <v Speaker 1>I looked it up. Apparently Western Digital is sold out <v Speaker 1>of hard drives for twenty twenty six already. <v Speaker 5>Yeah, well maybe they're allotments. Is that what they're saying. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, they already like it, but for already and we're <v Speaker 1>only in February. <v Speaker 2>That's insane. And am I going to get USB drives? <v Speaker 4>I think that yeah is going to be the here <v Speaker 4>we got nasty and all got nasses, So that's that's unfortunate. <v Speaker 5>Listen, don't forget folks, listeners, viewers, watchers, consumers. Jiba will <v Speaker 5>never force you to upgrade your RAM to enjoy our content. <v Speaker 2>That's true. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, you can watch pack yeah and will be will <v Speaker 3>be chocolate covered, inedible. <v Speaker 2>You won't have a problem in the shape of a <v Speaker 2>dragged exactly. We're like the big knockers. Yeah, how sweet. <v Speaker 1>That's where the RAM comes in. Oh of course, that's <v Speaker 1>that's how it works. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, okay, Well, Uh, this the stakes. <v Speaker 4>I don't think that we're going to have like any <v Speaker 4>sort of easy path out of this. <v Speaker 2>Will developers make sort of. <v Speaker 4>Adjustments to their games, recognizing that people are not going <v Speaker 4>to be able to keep up with having a minimum <v Speaker 4>of like thirty two gigabytes in their in their systems, <v Speaker 4>in their PCs. Sounds like some of them are thinking <v Speaker 4>that there's already been at least one company, I can't <v Speaker 4>remember what game it was they walked back their minimum <v Speaker 4>specs like we are going to require less RAM. Don't <v Speaker 4>freak out, So hopefully that becomes it. <v Speaker 2>Certainly seems like we have got to be a time <v Speaker 2>where the whole unless you're rock Star making grantha to <v Speaker 2>a six. Yeah, no, nobody wants to hear about like <v Speaker 2>this is gonna be the most hyphened game ever. We <v Speaker 2>don't want that. Actually, can't you make your games look <v Speaker 2>much worse? Please? Yep? <v Speaker 4>Make it run on my potato and then and then <v Speaker 4>don't release a PS six for several more years, please. <v Speaker 5>Yes, Even d d R for RAM is like going <v Speaker 5>up in. <v Speaker 4>I mean that's because, like they probably have, they were <v Speaker 4>already deemphasizing that before any of this happened, right, they <v Speaker 4>were like, well, we're not gonna build any new d <v Speaker 4>d R four plants. <v Speaker 5>So yeah, no one could know this was gonna happen. <v Speaker 5>So and no one saw this coming. There were zero <v Speaker 5>warning signs. It's a it's an act of God, is really. <v Speaker 2>What it is. <v Speaker 4>And the billionaires that are in these spaces that are <v Speaker 4>causing this, I think it's probably a good thing because <v Speaker 4>that means we'll have to just rent our computers from <v Speaker 4>Nvidia in the future, so that that's what they want <v Speaker 4>they get to be in. There's another space where they <v Speaker 4>could be our landlords and it's our computers, which is <v Speaker 4>just an exciting possibility. <v Speaker 2>Crib. <v Speaker 1>Do you think that could actually legitimately lead to some small, <v Speaker 1>small resurgence of like internet cafes. <v Speaker 4>J Yeah, we should definitely be doing that slash cat <v Speaker 4>cafe you we have a'mout. Yes, I think I think <v Speaker 4>we will see a resurgence of stuff along those lines, <v Speaker 4>maybe maybe more often people getting their library card and <v Speaker 4>going to their library right using the computers there go <v Speaker 4>do that. But uh, yep, all right, Uh, Nintendo's got <v Speaker 4>a new wave of wave for our everybody. It's the <v Speaker 4>best thing that they are very good at delivering dmcash. <v Speaker 4>They are basically hitting every switch emulator. <v Speaker 2>Repo on GitHub. They've done this before, they're doing it again. <v Speaker 4>Uh of course. Uh, you know, this is their way <v Speaker 4>of like going out there and showing that they're active <v Speaker 4>and throwing their weight around. It's not gonna have too <v Speaker 4>much of an effect because the people that really know <v Speaker 4>what they're doing with this stuff will host the repos <v Speaker 4>themselves and all these things have backups outside again hub. Uh, <v Speaker 4>So it's really just kind of a surface level. <v Speaker 2>Like stopping people from being able to find it like. <v Speaker 4>Relatively easy easily. But yeah, Nintendo's still out there doing <v Speaker 4>this thing. They were primarily going after switch emulators, though <v Speaker 4>here this is still them being like that was hit <v Speaker 4>that head a little bit too close to our money maker. <v Speaker 2>Uh. <v Speaker 4>The the emulation scene kind of got up and running <v Speaker 4>a little bit faster than we were comfortable with. So <v Speaker 4>we are going to come down hard and uh, you know, <v Speaker 4>we have moved past the switch now for the most part. <v Speaker 4>They haven't stopped releasing switch games though, so I'm not <v Speaker 4>too surprised to see them coming out and doing this. <v Speaker 4>It's Nintendo. They are mostly lawyers at this point. M <v Speaker 4>uh any dot Hack fans Yo, Yes, could have could <v Speaker 4>have guessed that, could have guessed. <v Speaker 3>Me and d we're the number one. <v Speaker 2>Hack curious, but I never Uh. Well, that cyber Connect <v Speaker 2>two game that was getting teased was them confirming that <v Speaker 2>they are making dot Hack zero positioned as a restart <v Speaker 2>of dot hack from zero, and so it has nothing <v Speaker 2>to do with like I think there was some novels <v Speaker 2>called dot hag zero. Nothing to do with that, confusing. <v Speaker 4>This is this is them starting over from scratch, and <v Speaker 4>apparently they've been working on it for a long time <v Speaker 4>or at least thinking about it for a long time. <v Speaker 2>It's going to be an action RPG. Uh. <v Speaker 4>And they also said, like they they in the previous games, <v Speaker 4>there would there would be sort of gestures towards the <v Speaker 4>real world. Dot Hack was a game within a game, <v Speaker 4>and you were playing inside of it. It's MMO inside <v Speaker 4>of the game called the world, I think, and uh, <v Speaker 4>then you could get some taste of what was happening <v Speaker 4>outside of the world from emails and a handful of <v Speaker 4>other things. Here, it's going to be like, oh no, <v Speaker 4>we did that back then because we wanted to save <v Speaker 4>money and time. There will be no such restraints this time, <v Speaker 4>we are going to be fully exploring both sides. That <v Speaker 4>jan what does that say to you? <v Speaker 1>That's actually pretty cool. I thought dot Hack was an <v Speaker 1>interesting thing to come out in a post matrix world <v Speaker 1>where folks were so used to and I guess is <v Speaker 1>for me at least, it kind of led to Pokemon <v Speaker 1>not Pokemon Mega Man Battle Network, where you kind of <v Speaker 1>have that integration. <v Speaker 2>Yea into the same spot. Yeah, jumping into a world. <v Speaker 2>So that's cool. <v Speaker 1>I I enjoyed the little emails and like the little <v Speaker 1>text stuff that would come out of it. I wonder <v Speaker 1>if that might muddy the flow of the game a bit, <v Speaker 1>because you know, you're in an action RPG in the <v Speaker 1>the world of the world that I don't know what <v Speaker 1>you would do in a real life part of dot <v Speaker 1>Hack other than I don't know, answer emails and it's. <v Speaker 2>Gonna be like the real life part of Assassin's Crea. <v Speaker 2>You're mostly just talking to people. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, looking at it, Yeah, I could be yeah, trying <v Speaker 1>to buy ram I don't know, you. <v Speaker 3>Know what, I would love to do. This is never possible, <v Speaker 3>Like I know, they bring back all these games in <v Speaker 3>different ways, they said they never could, but I can't <v Speaker 3>imagine this could ever happen. Majestic, the EA game from <v Speaker 3>two thousand and one. Do you remember this? It was <v Speaker 3>like it was an arc thing. So it's like characters <v Speaker 3>would message, they would text you and say like, oh, <v Speaker 3>I'm gonna I'm gonna get a hold of you tomorrow <v Speaker 3>at two am, and they would do it, and it's <v Speaker 3>like you have to go on the actual internet instead <v Speaker 3>it facts you. <v Speaker 2>I think it might have faxed you. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, they'll call you. <v Speaker 2>You get AOL Instant Messengers message. <v Speaker 3>It's got Joey Pa. <v Speaker 5>Remember this. <v Speaker 3>I just think that there's just no way you could <v Speaker 3>ever replicate that. But I was always so curious about <v Speaker 3>what the fuck that was. <v Speaker 2>Like, Yeah, Giant Bomb had an alternate reality game, right, <v Speaker 2>yeah we should we should be the ones doing these <v Speaker 2>now he did Majestic. Yeah, the Giant Bomb. <v Speaker 3>It was like the game with Michael Douglas, which again <v Speaker 3>I've always just they should make the game real, and <v Speaker 3>they kind of tried and no one bought it. <v Speaker 2>If the game is real, Dan, I promise I'll get <v Speaker 2>it for you. <v Speaker 3>You'll be my Sean Pa. <v Speaker 2>You're going I will be your Michael Douglas the game. <v Speaker 2>You thank you. I appreciate it. <v Speaker 5>I love that movie to death, but it is on <v Speaker 5>it It's like in a vacuum. It's awesome, and then <v Speaker 5>when you think about it. <v Speaker 3>It's credibly I would like to be the one riding <v Speaker 3>the game. Actually, I don't want to be Michael Douglas. <v Speaker 3>I would Mike Manatti will be our Mike Douglas. I'll <v Speaker 3>be the person I. <v Speaker 5>Want to be Michael Douglas because you are forced to <v Speaker 5>try to commit suicide at the end of the work. <v Speaker 3>Not to spoil the game it is. <v Speaker 5>But until Michael Douglas hits the fucking balloon, Matt, he <v Speaker 5>thinks he's killing him, but then it's a fucking party. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, it's always good to get a part. <v Speaker 5>Yeah, yeah, I'm sure, I'm sure. Like that was the <v Speaker 5>other thing I couldn't believe about that movie. He like <v Speaker 5>dusts all the glass off himself and he's like, whoa, <v Speaker 5>it's just all for me, Champagne sick. <v Speaker 3>Thanks for coming incredible movie. <v Speaker 5>Twenty seconds ago, I was trying to kill myself, but glad. <v Speaker 2>Not literal, Like that movie can't be a literal. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, that's the one that kills himself. Mario kills himself <v Speaker 3>in that movie. <v Speaker 4>Yeah, like a reality where Nintendo had him assassinated. <v Speaker 2>That's very different. <v Speaker 3>It's a crazy movie. <v Speaker 5>Great, it is crazy. It is well done, Like it's <v Speaker 5>definitely entertaining, but it's also insane adventure. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, yes, and that's and that's stock hacks here. <v Speaker 4>Everybody poke came on Pucopia is getting cloud Island servers. <v Speaker 4>So basically what the thing here is. And yeah, this <v Speaker 4>isn't worthy thing because the game will host your world <v Speaker 4>online even when you aren't logged in, which is very <v Speaker 4>convenient if you like want to get a friend group <v Speaker 4>together and work together building stuff in a world. That's <v Speaker 4>not how it works in Animal Crossing and Animal Crossing, <v Speaker 4>like someone has to be online and then you join <v Speaker 4>their world. Here, the world will just be there, so <v Speaker 4>people can like go in there and like do things <v Speaker 4>while you're at work, and you come home and see <v Speaker 4>like what they did. And that's ideal for one of <v Speaker 4>these games where you are supposed to be sort of <v Speaker 4>be existing in. <v Speaker 2>The space Tocopia. Okay, let's do it. Okay, I'll visit <v Speaker 2>to Copia. It kind of took. This game's getting some <v Speaker 2>buzz now, Like I was kind of I was like <v Speaker 2>this thing I don't know now, you know, I've been <v Speaker 2>convinced me learning it's from the Dragon Quest builders people <v Speaker 2>when people love those games, and there was some previews <v Speaker 2>people seem high on it, like, yeah, I'm kind of <v Speaker 2>like ready for this to hit pretty good now. <v Speaker 4>Yeah, I think it's gonna do all right. At the <v Speaker 4>very least, it's going to be a sale success. We'll <v Speaker 4>see how the reviews do. Like that's kind of up <v Speaker 4>in the air, but seems like the fandom is ready <v Speaker 4>to embrace this game, and I'm getting kind of excited <v Speaker 4>about it. <v Speaker 2>I got that game for two doll hairs on Fantasy <v Speaker 2>Oh nice a coconut. <v Speaker 4>We talked about the virtual bully. I won't work, the <v Speaker 4>virtually Apple won't work. <v Speaker 2>While doc a question about that. Yeah, yeah, please, so <v Speaker 2>you see the two screens when it's on DOC though, Yes, <v Speaker 2>and I'm very good at magic guy. We've established it. Yes, <v Speaker 2>you could do it. I could do that. I could <v Speaker 2>just magic. If you cross, if you, if you if <v Speaker 2>you used your superpower of being able to do whatever <v Speaker 2>the fuck you want to your eyes like some sort <v Speaker 2>of freak, you can cross the streams and if you <v Speaker 2>line up the two things by crossing your eyes just right. <v Speaker 2>It will look three D. All right you I'm making <v Speaker 2>I'm making your screen bigger. Did okay? <v Speaker 3>Yeah, here you go, Mitch, what do you want to play? <v Speaker 2>I already had it crossed. Give me something I'm giv Yeah. <v Speaker 2>The further away, the further way you are from the screen, like, <v Speaker 2>the easier it will be. You need it easy, I know, <v Speaker 2>I know. Cold. <v Speaker 1>We not just like take the video feed like I <v Speaker 1>take the video feed and just overlap them to make <v Speaker 1>it work. <v Speaker 2>I need no further way. It's easier. You gotta wind <v Speaker 2>snow that's too close and also very blurry. There you <v Speaker 2>just all I can see is macho man and me Hilaire. <v Speaker 2>Also your screen background Dremy Claire. I was doing it <v Speaker 2>that entire time. That's awesome. I hope you enjoyed it. <v Speaker 2>Something terrible that would be probably pretty bad for my <v Speaker 2>eyes to do that. <v Speaker 3>It seems to be like a feature, Mike. <v Speaker 4>I think it seems like you're good at it to <v Speaker 4>the point where it's like, I don't know if it <v Speaker 4>actually would be bad for your eyes, but let's say yes, <v Speaker 4>just in case someone at home tries to do it. <v Speaker 2>Uh. <v Speaker 4>The Virtual Boy Library at launch as a reminder is <v Speaker 4>three D Tetris Galactic Pinball just okay golf, which is <v Speaker 4>not great, The Mansion of Endsmith, which I think is <v Speaker 4>kind of garbage, Red Alarm also garbage, teleroboxers not the worst, <v Speaker 4>but it's not great. And then Virtual Boy warrior Land, <v Speaker 4>which is actually pretty good. <v Speaker 3>That seems like the only decent ish one. What was <v Speaker 3>the one that was kind of the starboks. I played <v Speaker 3>a little bit of that. <v Speaker 2>Oh that one, Red Alarm, Oh yeah alarm, Yeah, nothing crazy, <v Speaker 2>it's and it's that's one where the whole only black <v Speaker 2>and red. Uh. It just thinks makes things pretty difficult <v Speaker 2>to discern. <v Speaker 4>Blizzards bringing Warlock class to Diablo for Lords of Hatred, <v Speaker 4>Diablo two and Diablo Immortal. I didn't add this, Who <v Speaker 4>added this? And this is what it sing. <v Speaker 2>So you know, there's that Diabolo Lord of Hatred expansion <v Speaker 2>coming for Diablo four later this year, and we always do. <v Speaker 2>There's going to be a second class Paladin already came out. <v Speaker 2>Second class is Warlock, so that's neat sure we haven't <v Speaker 2>had Warlock and Diablo before. Then they're like, it's also <v Speaker 2>coming to Diabolo Immortal, which is the free to play <v Speaker 2>Diablo game. Sure, and then they're like, it's coming to <v Speaker 2>Diablo two. And Diablo two has not had a new <v Speaker 2>class since its expansion came out like two thousand and one. <v Speaker 2>You say actual Diablo, who I mean scared to the <v Speaker 2>remake that they made a few years back, which is <v Speaker 2>a great remake. And the remake has the original graphics <v Speaker 2>in there if you want, so, you know it's in <v Speaker 2>that they released it that day. This is out now. <v Speaker 2>I haven't had a chance to check it out yet <v Speaker 2>because I've been traveling. But the idea that Diablo two <v Speaker 2>got a new class and twenty twenty six, that is <v Speaker 2>so freaking cool to me. I like the newer Diabolos, <v Speaker 2>but I've never liked them nearly as much as Diablo two. <v Speaker 2>There's just a pace and a feel and a tone <v Speaker 2>of that game that I absolutely adore. I've been kind <v Speaker 2>of wanting to go back to it, and having this <v Speaker 2>as an excuse. Oh my gosh, that's so exciting. Just <v Speaker 2>just adding new content like this to a Super Bowl <v Speaker 2>game is awesome. I can't wait to dive into this. Yeah, <v Speaker 2>that's really neat. I wonder like they're just saying people <v Speaker 2>still play that game all the time, we are still <v Speaker 2>selling it. This is a. <v Speaker 4>Fun way to get people thinking about Diablo, regardless of <v Speaker 4>whatever Diablo they want to be thinking about. <v Speaker 2>Very good. Yeah, and I know, I know the price <v Speaker 2>is high. It's like twenty five dollars. I don't know <v Speaker 2>what else that comes with, right, they're kind of trying <v Speaker 2>to they're trying to make It's not like it's like <v Speaker 2>an expansion. But aside from the new character, I don't <v Speaker 2>know what. It's not like there's a new act in <v Speaker 2>the game or saying that there's some quality of my <v Speaker 2>stuff that they added as well. I assume that's just <v Speaker 2>part of a patch. <v Speaker 1>Mike, do you know what the state of Diablo Immortal <v Speaker 1>is or Immortals? <v Speaker 2>No idea. I was just wondering about that, Like what's <v Speaker 2>going on with Diablo A Mortal. I'm think is it <v Speaker 2>a thing where it's still popular everywhere? Maybe it's still <v Speaker 2>really popular and like Asia or something. I have no idea. Really, <v Speaker 2>it's it's it's personally not a going concern, not that <v Speaker 2>that game was ever terrible, but especially once y'all before <v Speaker 2>was out, I'll just play that. If I want to <v Speaker 2>do a modern Diablo Last story here. Hideki Sado, who <v Speaker 2>was the visionary who shaped many of Sega's consoles, has died. <v Speaker 2>He was the former Sega president. He was basically integral <v Speaker 2>to designing all of their consoles, especially so I guess <v Speaker 2>the Dreamcast, but he was involved in the genesis everything. <v Speaker 4>He recently died, and he was like when he was <v Speaker 4>designing the Dreamcast, said he wanted to do that because <v Speaker 4>he was obsessed with play and communication, so he included <v Speaker 4>a modem as well as the Visual Memory Unit the VMU. <v Speaker 4>He's got quite a legacy, so wrestful trails to HITDECKI. <v Speaker 2>Sato, Yeah, I loved the Sega consoles and Dreamcast especially <v Speaker 2>just has such a strong just look and features and <v Speaker 2>stuff I was doing with internet play in the VMU. <v Speaker 2>When I play a Dreamcast today and I have that <v Speaker 2>VMU in there and I see the little things happening <v Speaker 2>in the VMU, I still think that is so intimate. <v Speaker 2>It's so awesome. Yeah. So yeah, thank you. Thanking to <v Speaker 2>him for incredible work over the years. And happy trails. Yep. <v Speaker 4>He retired in two thousand and eight and I got <v Speaker 4>to have quite a few years there just kind of <v Speaker 4>kick him back. <v Speaker 2>He earned it all right. That does it for the news. <v Speaker 2>Jan Hennon. The showback over to you folks. <v Speaker 1>Who were going to take a quick bricky break, and <v Speaker 1>we will be back with email and any YouTube superchants <v Speaker 1>if we got them. <v Speaker 2>We'll see you on the other side. <v Speaker 7>These are the emails for the shows. <v Speaker 1>BombCast at Giant Bomb is the email address to send <v Speaker 1>your emails to. You can write in about any and everything. <v Speaker 1>Thanks to y'all for sending emails in. We've been getting <v Speaker 1>a bunch every week and I'm pleasantly surprised. It tickles <v Speaker 1>me in a very special Uh. <v Speaker 2>I like it. We'll just say that. <v Speaker 1>I can't say. I can't say Mike. First email comes <v Speaker 1>from Rob from Illinois. <v Speaker 2>Uh. <v Speaker 1>And it's funny that we brought up the Nintendo lawyers <v Speaker 1>because this may get them on the phone. But Jeff Grabb, <v Speaker 1>I feel like your expertise would help out Rob a lot. Hello, <v Speaker 1>Bomb Crew, first time writer, longtime listener. I run sports <v Speaker 1>psychology session for volleyball teams and would love to set <v Speaker 1>up four copies of Beach Spikers Nintendo GameCube with four <v Speaker 1>controllers each so that an entire team can run play <v Speaker 1>at any given time. Well, there are many volleyball games <v Speaker 1>out on the market, all of which I've tried. Beach <v Speaker 1>Spikers has just the right feel in cooperation for what <v Speaker 1>I want to do with these teams. So what would <v Speaker 1>be the best way for me to get this set <v Speaker 1>up going outside of procuring the actual hardware for GameCubes <v Speaker 1>four discs for controllers, I would love to consider this <v Speaker 1>as low cost as possible, the easiest to procure in <v Speaker 1>the States, and with as little Nintendo jail as possible. <v Speaker 1>Thanks for keeping keeping up the great ork fuck Ice <v Speaker 1>Rob from Illinois. <v Speaker 4>Yeah, okay, so for GameCube, you're gonna be pretty good <v Speaker 4>emulating that with Dolphin, and you know, it's still gonna <v Speaker 4>get pretty expensive, like having to get all those controllers. <v Speaker 4>But I would just recommend going to a secondhand shop, <v Speaker 4>maybe getting Xbox three sixty controllers even like those would <v Speaker 4>be fine. You just plug the plug those. <v Speaker 3>In pretty cheap like GameCube like wired USB controllers that <v Speaker 3>you can buy like a two or they suck. <v Speaker 2>Right, they're super cheap sucks. <v Speaker 4>But maybe you could try to try those out and <v Speaker 4>see how you feel. Maybe get one of them and <v Speaker 4>see if they, like will hold up to a lot <v Speaker 4>of use. But yeah, I mean, go and get like <v Speaker 4>old laptops and just get dolphins set up on there. <v Speaker 2>I think it'll be fine. You could also get retro <v Speaker 2>pie I bet, oh yeah, those. <v Speaker 4>I bet a raspberry pie can do a dolphin just fine, <v Speaker 4>like a modern raspberry pie. And those used to be <v Speaker 4>like thirty five bucks. I bet they're not much more <v Speaker 4>than that these days, even for like a higher end one, <v Speaker 4>although those have ram as well, so who knows what's happening. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, so maybe get a bunch of those and then <v Speaker 2>a bunch of second hand controllers and go that route. <v Speaker 2>Like that's probably the cheapest way to do it. I'll <v Speaker 2>being able to have it set up permanently and with <v Speaker 2>a bunch of controllers in all that. Man, I never <v Speaker 2>played beef spikers. I don't know. It just looked. I <v Speaker 2>don't have it. Uh. I kind of want to think. <v Speaker 2>There's only one volleyball game from that generation that I played. <v Speaker 2>I don't have to say which one. <v Speaker 1>There you go, Rob, Thank you for the advice, grub, <v Speaker 1>and thank you Mike Manatti for further insight into your brain. <v Speaker 2>I'll choke the chicken. Okay, all right, I heard you. <v Speaker 2>I heard God, I heard you got it Uh. <v Speaker 1>Next email comes from perhaps one of my favorite emailer <v Speaker 1>names or user names. Yahwi Bunga right sin, Hello, Giant Bomb. <v Speaker 1>I have recently become a premium member. Hey, real quick, <v Speaker 1>Mike Manatti. Yeah, yeah, <v Speaker 3>he's scary. <v Speaker 2>We canna get another bankrupting games on that side of <v Speaker 2>you can come, we'll get that out. <v Speaker 1>Yeah yeah, oh g Now I wonder why he has <v Speaker 1>so much cash in his wallet anyway, yawibunka. Right, So hello, <v Speaker 1>Giant Bomb. I've recently become a Premium member and have <v Speaker 1>received a copy of Sectory. <v Speaker 2>For my troubles and what do you know? <v Speaker 1>But I love it just like you, but just like <v Speaker 1>you all, but unfortunately I'm quite shit at it. So <v Speaker 1>I was hoping you could all share some gamer tips <v Speaker 1>and tricks for us desperately poor players of Sectory. Thank <v Speaker 1>you for the show each week, yallibunka. <v Speaker 3>I mean without going to because there's way like deep <v Speaker 3>level strats stuff like that about keeping strike combos and <v Speaker 3>stuff going. I think the most important thing to say, <v Speaker 3>and it's important to say it because Jacob Geller, who <v Speaker 3>was very good at this and better than us of <v Speaker 3>this game, didn't know this very basic thing. So if <v Speaker 3>he didn't know it, you definitely need to know it. <v Speaker 3>It is, if you strike into a token, any token, <v Speaker 3>upgrade token, one of the like bomb things whatever, you <v Speaker 3>instantly refill your strike meter. So do not ever just <v Speaker 3>run in to upgrade token. If you can help it. <v Speaker 3>Obviously if it's recharging, you don't really have a choice, <v Speaker 3>but you want to strike into every token and that'll <v Speaker 3>recharge it. And then once you get that down, then <v Speaker 3>you can start looking into extending your strike combos if <v Speaker 3>you're going for real score hunt type stuff. <v Speaker 4>Yeah, I think it would like get to a point <v Speaker 4>where you understand what makes you more survivable. So, like <v Speaker 4>drones are better than you think they are because they <v Speaker 4>absorb hits and they like can shoot it the little <v Speaker 4>things that are coming at you that you might not see. <v Speaker 4>So you could kind of like pull your vision out <v Speaker 4>a little bit more and have a slightly larger cone <v Speaker 4>you could pay attention to, which is huge in the <v Speaker 4>game actually, And really it's about getting past that first <v Speaker 4>stage of the game where it's at its hardest because <v Speaker 4>you have the least capabilities with your ship. So try <v Speaker 4>a bunch of different builds, try a bunch of different <v Speaker 4>card stacks and decks, and kind of just get to <v Speaker 4>a point where you are at the end of the <v Speaker 4>game and you feel like I could kind of keep <v Speaker 4>flying here without getting hit, but that takes a while. <v Speaker 1>Fantastic. Thank you for the tips. S Tory will wind <v Speaker 1>up on every single episode of this podcast. <v Speaker 2>For number twelve of the World, I did be Jacob <v Speaker 2>Galler against Jesus. I beat him by like two thousand points. Dan, <v Speaker 2>I'm like right there. Good. <v Speaker 3>That feels even crazy. Yes, it's amazing. <v Speaker 1>I just saw my lights flicker and there's a little <v Speaker 1>bit of a rainstorm happening here in San Francisco. So <v Speaker 1>I just had to delete a good chunk of these <v Speaker 1>emails because we got so many gang So I'm gonna <v Speaker 1>continue going down the line. I didn't write this emailer down. <v Speaker 1>But for folks watching the Olympics, are the Blade Angels <v Speaker 1>really cool? Fucking cool? They seem cool? Yes they are. <v Speaker 2>I mean they're the Blade Angels. Are they as cool? <v Speaker 2>What are those two people in Mighty Ducks two? The <v Speaker 2>two bros as cool as the Bash Bros? Very close? <v Speaker 1>I shouts out to Oakland's own Alyssa lou U fucking <v Speaker 1>tearing up the ice skating rink. <v Speaker 2>Wonderful performance. <v Speaker 1>All right, moving along, Jonathan writes in Dudes, I'm about <v Speaker 1>to walk into a meeting with my boss and pitch <v Speaker 1>the idea of working remotely in Canada. I live and <v Speaker 1>work in Texas right now, I'm very much a bundle <v Speaker 1>of nerves and I can't get that song out of <v Speaker 1>my head. I think the song is helping. I'll let <v Speaker 1>you guys know how it goes. <v Speaker 2>Jonathan writes in later, Guys, it didn't go well. I like, <v Speaker 2>I bet that doesn't work out. <v Speaker 5>Yeah, somehow, you're Texas based company. <v Speaker 4>You can just do it, dude, Just like say, I <v Speaker 4>am in Canada, Now what are you gonna do? And <v Speaker 4>then if. <v Speaker 2>I bet they won't, I bet they won't. <v Speaker 3>Actually they just come to Minnesota. We'd rather it's basically <v Speaker 3>Canada here in Minnesota, just coming here. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, yeah, there there you go. <v Speaker 1>I'm leaving the state one way or another. Wish me luck, Jonathan, <v Speaker 1>You wish you well. <v Speaker 2>Joe. <v Speaker 3>By the way, I already love Canada. A lot of <v Speaker 3>our best comedians and wrestlers come from Canada. And now <v Speaker 3>talking about your band the show, which that movie is <v Speaker 3>aggressively Canadian. <v Speaker 2>It's just like Man Toronto specifically. Yeah, like there are <v Speaker 2>a bunch of like curtling cheaters over there. I don't <v Speaker 2>know about that. <v Speaker 4>There are bad Canadians, it's true, but they exist, best <v Speaker 4>of them. Yeah, absolutely, Yeah, they're mostly like right wing grifters. <v Speaker 5>But yes, yeah, what do you mean, Jeff Grubb? <v Speaker 1>That's good, that's really good. Mitch from Michigan. Right, so <v Speaker 1>I should say Michigan, Hey, I always watch listen to <v Speaker 1>all your videos and podcasts at two times speed. Bundle <v Speaker 1>of Nerves is a better song at two times speed. <v Speaker 1>I'm not good, but significantly better. Does anyone a GB <v Speaker 1>watch slash listen to things on higher speed than normal? <v Speaker 1>I started with audio books and it's just kind of <v Speaker 1>led over to everything to the point where now I hate, <v Speaker 1>hate it when anything doesn't have some kind of speed <v Speaker 1>option with love, Mitch from Michigan. <v Speaker 3>I'm full was it David Lynch doing the like you're <v Speaker 3>gonna watch a movie on your fucking phone? Like I <v Speaker 3>am full on? Like you don't mess with that stuff. <v Speaker 3>Things are for for podcasts though, Yeah you're wrong, he doesn't, right, <v Speaker 3>But that's about and I think I have a thing <v Speaker 3>on that makes it so it automatically snips out like breaks. <v Speaker 3>If there's a lot of breaking, it's like a smart <v Speaker 3>thing or something which. <v Speaker 5>Definitely flies in the face of what you're. <v Speaker 3>There's not a movie, it's some fellows talking about wrestling. <v Speaker 2>Of course, that's why it's okay, but he's yeah, but <v Speaker 2>he did it to be clear, this email or didn't <v Speaker 2>talk about movies. <v Speaker 3>Yes, so I think about like. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, but no, no one's doing that the movies didn't. <v Speaker 4>I think I think they did it for like a <v Speaker 4>very specific like use case, but it's not for what <v Speaker 4>people thought it was. But like, yeah, I have started <v Speaker 4>doing this, and I've discovered that for like audio books <v Speaker 4>and for podcasts and YouTube videos, if I increase the speed, <v Speaker 4>it's easier for me to follow. I'm really yeah, it's like, oh, <v Speaker 4>I was having trouble because people are taking a long <v Speaker 4>time to get their point out. <v Speaker 2>So I'm sure I'm guilty of on this podcast. <v Speaker 4>So it's like when I sped up the speed, I <v Speaker 4>could like get to their next point faster, and it <v Speaker 4>all began to like web together my brain a little <v Speaker 4>bit easier. <v Speaker 5>Yeah, I think it's okay for audiobooks too. Uh you know, <v Speaker 5>I think it's okay. <v Speaker 2>I don't go like two x for audiobooks. <v Speaker 5>No, that seems a little too quick, maybe like one <v Speaker 5>point five or one five. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, I think one point seven five. Yeah. <v Speaker 5>If I'm if I'm watching like an instructional YouTube video, <v Speaker 5>like a fucking course I'm putting that on two X. <v Speaker 5>Are you kidding me? <v Speaker 2>Really? Because like, I'm so skeptical because like a lot <v Speaker 2>of my audio books are kind of like I like <v Speaker 2>my current ones about like the history of language families, <v Speaker 2>and I feel like it's it's already hard enough to <v Speaker 2>absorb this information. I like, I speed it up. I'm <v Speaker 2>just gonna it's everyone's gonna be different on that stuff. Yeah, <v Speaker 2>there's a lot of things. I think it's ADHD's a <v Speaker 2>big part of it. Like that helps me. I want <v Speaker 2>to I want to mess with this guy who listens <v Speaker 2>to me at two time speed and talk normal. <v Speaker 5>Oh my god, sounds would be. <v Speaker 2>Kind of terfied to hear what my sounds like at <v Speaker 2>two time speed. Someone on the inter net was mean <v Speaker 2>about my voice again the other day and screwed up. <v Speaker 3>Slow down. <v Speaker 2>I think that it would become more pitchy at higher speed. Still, <v Speaker 2>like you're doing it. <v Speaker 3>Wrong him the right way back, Lark, you. <v Speaker 2>Do discords kind. <v Speaker 7>Of gunderstand you like Sacon, he said, become sloth from <v Speaker 7>zoo to we're not just doing. <v Speaker 2>The impressions of that. I thought, well, that's what we <v Speaker 2>were doing, only back there sounded like that to the <v Speaker 2>Opisode'm gona talk really fast, and so it's gonna be <v Speaker 2>like four times speed. Oh my god, but he's. <v Speaker 3>Doing that, tell us a brisket joke. Slow, no, stop to. <v Speaker 2>You know what. I'm actually got a cameo request to <v Speaker 2>do that one again, and they wanted me to work <v Speaker 2>bacon bacon's. Remember bacon bacons. <v Speaker 5>I've noticed you ever watched the I forget what the <v Speaker 5>what it's called. But instead of reading a sentence, what <v Speaker 5>was it what. <v Speaker 2>It's called, it's called a TV that's a radio. <v Speaker 5>Yeah, instead of reading a sentence, if I see the <v Speaker 5>words individually blasted at my face, I can read that <v Speaker 5>comprehend quicker. <v Speaker 2>Same. <v Speaker 4>Yes, I was like surprised by that, but it's like <v Speaker 4>they could you blast it like a really high. <v Speaker 1>I would one hundred percent read a full book that way. <v Speaker 5>I think it has to do with like the way <v Speaker 5>you memorize what words look. <v Speaker 2>Like shah, like the whole word memorization or recognition. <v Speaker 3>J Jenna, I'm finally seeing Marty Supreme tonight. Should I <v Speaker 3>go like four time speed with that? Would that help? <v Speaker 2>Oh? No, Dan, your heart will explode. I want that. <v Speaker 2>I'm going to watch that stressful movie about the mom <v Speaker 2>with the dying daughter. You were talking about the fire <v Speaker 2>escape at two time speed. <v Speaker 3>Oh, I don't know what that would do to that movie. <v Speaker 2>All right? <v Speaker 1>Moving on with emails uh K train from uh D. <v Speaker 1>I don't know where that is, Hey bomb a Stein's <v Speaker 1>how do you guys prepare your oatmeal? Use milk or <v Speaker 1>are you correct and use water? <v Speaker 2>Also? <v Speaker 1>Can we all agree maple brown sugar is the best oatmeal? <v Speaker 1>Love the show much love. <v Speaker 2>I do love that. That's correct. I use I use them, <v Speaker 2>you know. <v Speaker 3>I think my favorite is the one I had this morning, <v Speaker 3>which was the Fruity Cereal flavor of oats overnight code. <v Speaker 2>In the chat, folks code in the chat. Use the <v Speaker 2>oats code, Folks. <v Speaker 3>There fruity Cereal. It was like fruity pebbles and oatmeal <v Speaker 3>formers delicious. I had cookies and cream yesterday. Can you <v Speaker 3>believe it? They made it possible? <v Speaker 2>So gross? That one is cookies and cream. <v Speaker 3>It's one of the highest rated ones. He's got like <v Speaker 3>a four point eight three average Overnight's code. <v Speaker 2>I appreciate. <v Speaker 5>My code gives you more, gives you more receipts. Not true, And. <v Speaker 3>I got my innovator steel shaker from Oats overnight. For <v Speaker 3>getting so many referrals, they send you an Innovator steel <v Speaker 3>oats shaker. <v Speaker 2>It's wow. <v Speaker 3>It's after two shakes and I'm back to my plastic. Wow, <v Speaker 3>it gets all cry honesty. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, what was the rating for those cookies and cream oats? <v Speaker 3>I thought it was like a four point eight three <v Speaker 3>or some because I sort by not as. <v Speaker 2>Good as Metroit Prime for that was like a beautiful. <v Speaker 5>One Yes, what a beautiful one timer right there. I'm <v Speaker 5>so happy, tactile baby. That's good, Mike, I saw and <v Speaker 5>I just sent everything I. <v Speaker 2>Had the audience back after that slow reading, I don't <v Speaker 2>think they liked it. They did, like, I don't think <v Speaker 2>they can. <v Speaker 3>We change our rating system to a thousand point systems <v Speaker 3>point eight three to a game. <v Speaker 5>Let's adopt the Olympic scale. Yeah, there we go of <v Speaker 5>speed skating. U No, I think uh. I think the <v Speaker 5>fruity serial one is uh deed, Tierra, I am with <v Speaker 5>you on cookies and cream cinnamon roll. <v Speaker 3>Those are two favorites. <v Speaker 5>Those are like cookie dough too, I thought. I thought, yeah, <v Speaker 5>open line the better code. My coat also looks better. <v Speaker 3>With an Innovator steel shaker. And he doesn't want that <v Speaker 3>they're bad. <v Speaker 2>It's more attractive because I will eat unsweetened oat meal <v Speaker 2>with an egg a fried egg on it sometimes. <v Speaker 1>Oh wait what yeah, well, y'all know me. I don't <v Speaker 1>like sweet things. Besides, Mikey over here. You know, dude, <v Speaker 1>I like that. I like your style. <v Speaker 5>Wait, so you're putting a fried egg on top of <v Speaker 5>complete raw dog oatmeal. <v Speaker 1>R throwing that bad boy, and you're like a chef <v Speaker 1>guy and you're running pretend. <v Speaker 3>Can you just I'm just curious because I've never known <v Speaker 3>anyone that's tried this and you're running. Now, can you <v Speaker 3>just wake up and do the Rocky style once and <v Speaker 3>let me know how it goes. On a podcast, it <v Speaker 3>was like four. <v Speaker 2>Eggs, try one. <v Speaker 3>You gotta see the scene. You gotta make it exactly <v Speaker 3>like the scene. I think it's dark when he wakes <v Speaker 3>up and he's like, I want to fucking get up <v Speaker 3>and run, and then it's like four eggs or something. <v Speaker 3>He chugs it and go So I want to hear <v Speaker 3>how that goes. <v Speaker 1>Jason Finelli, I'm just going to sleep over at the <v Speaker 1>house real quick, just so I can reenact the whole scene. Okay, okay, <v Speaker 1>the impossible pivot to a very serious email. This comes <v Speaker 1>from John from Queens, New York Highdooters. I've been going <v Speaker 1>through a rough patch recently as my mom passed away <v Speaker 1>shortly before Christmas. As I was writing her eulogy, I <v Speaker 1>really came to appreciate that she was one. She was <v Speaker 1>the one that got me into video games growing up. <v Speaker 1>My mom had a Genesis SNS and a game Boy. <v Speaker 1>She loved the classic two D Mario and Sonic games, <v Speaker 1>and we would play those together or take turns with <v Speaker 1>a game Boy so we could try to beat each <v Speaker 1>other's high score in Tetris. Even if she tapped out <v Speaker 1>after the sixteen era sixteen bit era, she remained supportive <v Speaker 1>of my love of gaming, and I'll always be thankful <v Speaker 1>for how cool that was. My question for you all <v Speaker 1>is what role did your parents play in your early gaming? <v Speaker 1>Did they play games themselves, have a curiosity about your home, <v Speaker 1>or just leave you in peace while you caught your <v Speaker 1>Pokemon pokemons in the back seat of the car ps. <v Speaker 1>Thanks for all you do on the podcast, for being <v Speaker 1>friendly voices in my ear when I needed them the most. <v Speaker 1>John and Queens New York. First off, sorry for your <v Speaker 1>loss Uh, absolutely, yeah, but you know, that's that's great <v Speaker 1>that you have those memories. My parents didn't really play games. <v Speaker 2>I think my older brother remembers one we got the <v Speaker 2>ness r My dad bought it, brought it over. He <v Speaker 2>showed them like how to like run and Mario, and <v Speaker 2>maybe played golf once and that was it. Uh. In fact, <v Speaker 2>in general, when I was young, it was very rare <v Speaker 2>for me to come across adults in general who are <v Speaker 2>playing games. It was still very much these are the <v Speaker 2>toys for the kids, and that's what they're going to do. Well, <v Speaker 2>we play trivial pursuitter poker in the den. <v Speaker 3>My dad actually had a pretty big influence early on <v Speaker 3>him and my stepdad actually because my early before I <v Speaker 3>was probably like three or so years old, and I <v Speaker 3>remember watching my dad and my stepdad playing RBI baseball <v Speaker 3>against each other all the time. Uh and even been <v Speaker 3>backlarer you running them myth again. Yes, that's right. They <v Speaker 3>lived together, and I just remember my dad. My dad <v Speaker 3>would get so mad because whenever he was winning, my <v Speaker 3>stepdad would just be like, oh, the computer likes you better. <v Speaker 3>The computer likes you better, and just made my dad furious. <v Speaker 3>And then once my stepdad moved. <v Speaker 2>I understand. <v Speaker 3>Once my stepdad moved in with my mom and I <v Speaker 3>went to dad's place, I was old enough to play <v Speaker 3>games with them, so, like Mario Kart was huge. You know, <v Speaker 3>I got the Superintendo, so we played Mario Kart together <v Speaker 3>all the time. He loved Star Fox. Like he worked <v Speaker 3>at the grocery store, and he would time his brakes <v Speaker 3>to like he could drive home real quick and do <v Speaker 3>a full Grand Prix with me and then drive back <v Speaker 3>to the grocery store in time like during the left. Yeah, yeah, <v Speaker 3>cick to the past. We both liked a lot. And <v Speaker 3>then back at Mom's place, my stepdad, him and I <v Speaker 3>really connected on video games. The Soul Caliber Twist, the <v Speaker 3>Middle two Command of Conquer GoldenEye. That's when I built <v Speaker 3>like a cardboard divider for the screen, so it's like <v Speaker 3>I could flow it up and I put a little <v Speaker 3>bilker on the side. So I would lay on the <v Speaker 3>ground looking at the bottom screen for Golden Eye, and <v Speaker 3>he would sit up in a lawn chair above there, <v Speaker 3>and we would do like we couldn't see each other's screens. <v Speaker 3>So yeah, I have a lot of good memories with <v Speaker 3>both dad and Kala's dad. <v Speaker 4>I think my uh my dad only ever played Stealth <v Speaker 4>at F for the ne E S, which is a <v Speaker 4>realistic flight city, right, yeah, the realistic flight simulator based <v Speaker 4>on the F one one seven, a stealth bomber. <v Speaker 2>Which of course he was he was obsessed with, which <v Speaker 2>I yeah, I get it. Uh. <v Speaker 4>And we played that game and every single time we <v Speaker 4>would take off, we would fly, and then it would <v Speaker 4>come time to land, and we never got that fun <v Speaker 4>once once in years of trying. <v Speaker 2>It's not like we played it for a week and <v Speaker 2>put it down. We tried over and over again. Uh. Yeah, <v Speaker 2>that's one where I'm like, oh, I should go back <v Speaker 2>to that now and see what's the mount Rushmore of <v Speaker 2>nys Dad games like it's one's up there? Yeah, and <v Speaker 2>Vegas Dreams. Yeah, okay, maybe we'll fortune for any Uh. Yeah. <v Speaker 1>My folks didn't really get into games. But I had <v Speaker 1>two uncles for sure that like really shepherd me through, <v Speaker 1>Like I had a un that showed me the Sega <v Speaker 1>Genesis and then another uncle that bought me my first <v Speaker 1>PS one that he then commandeered after a while to <v Speaker 1>go play one of those helicopter games Strike I think <v Speaker 1>it was Urban Strike. Yeah, yeah, all right, shouts out <v Speaker 1>to you John again sorry for your lost but shouts <v Speaker 1>out to your mom forgetting you to games. We got <v Speaker 1>two more emails here. This one comes from Matt from <v Speaker 1>Scotland High bombers. Can you settle a debate with me <v Speaker 1>and my partner. We have twelve extra invites to our <v Speaker 1>wedding and we want to send them to companies for <v Speaker 1>free shit. Any ideas who might give us some good stuff. <v Speaker 1>Weddings are expensive. We love freebies, Matt from Scotland, so. <v Speaker 3>Hang on, you want to invite the companies to your wedding. <v Speaker 3>I don't understand how the invite turns into free shit. <v Speaker 3>What are you describing here? <v Speaker 1>I think Matt is under the assumption that if someone <v Speaker 1>in the company sees this invite, they will think, oh, well, <v Speaker 1>we can't make it, let's go give them something. <v Speaker 3>This is just like the common I'm mister trying to <v Speaker 3>get free ship from companies and this feels like a stretch. <v Speaker 3>I don't know if you can pull this off. You <v Speaker 3>can get the company to give you a free wedding <v Speaker 3>in my case, but I don't know if you could <v Speaker 3>get gifts. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, esar romantic wedding at Taco Bell Valentine's Day at <v Speaker 2>a White Castle. We got Yeah, yeah, I don't know. <v Speaker 2>I don't know about that party. Must be like it <v Speaker 2>might be I'll come to your wedding, but I won't. <v Speaker 2>I don't want to. Yeah, okay, okay, let's play in <v Speaker 2>this space a little bit. Guys, can you think of <v Speaker 2>a way to make it happen? Because I okay, I <v Speaker 2>think if you go into LinkedIn and you get like <v Speaker 2>the names of not just like the C suite people <v Speaker 2>or like maybe the like the regional vice president or something, <v Speaker 2>get their names, but then find out the names of <v Speaker 2>their assistance, reach out to them directly and be like, hey, <v Speaker 2>I was wondering if if like Bob could come to <v Speaker 2>my wedding. <v Speaker 4>We were like, this is this something that you know <v Speaker 4>would be a dream come true or whatever? Just lie'd <v Speaker 4>be like, talk to Bob about it. He said, to <v Speaker 4>reach out to you. Here's the details, Uh you know, <v Speaker 4>here's here's the amazonkey wish list that that sort of thing, <v Speaker 4>like maybe try something along those lots and then those <v Speaker 4>like they might have like like she might have or <v Speaker 4>they might have like a thing of like oh, if <v Speaker 4>we get something like this and the guy is busy <v Speaker 4>just send out this gift package or something like that. <v Speaker 2>You might work. <v Speaker 5>That's the smart way. <v Speaker 3>If you pay for it, I will fly out to <v Speaker 3>your wedding. I will attend your wedding. I mean that, <v Speaker 3>and I will bring you a Giant Bomb mug of <v Speaker 3>your choosing and a copy of the group or on <v Speaker 3>Blu ray and pieces. <v Speaker 2>You will actually do that if you pay for it. Wow. <v Speaker 1>After after mat had said weddings are expensive, he's gonna <v Speaker 1>go pay for your. <v Speaker 3>Whole thing, says, will you officiate? Yeah, I'll officiate too. <v Speaker 3>I'll officiate the wedding for free. Yeah I can do that. <v Speaker 2>Well. <v Speaker 5>Sure, again, it's not freethe they're paying to get you <v Speaker 5>out there, but it's nice gesture esture. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, Dan, maybe you can give them the shaker that <v Speaker 1>you don't want. <v Speaker 2>I will. <v Speaker 3>I will also get otes overnight innovator steel shaker. <v Speaker 2>Yes, it's it's terrible. It's bugs, all right. <v Speaker 1>Everybody last email the show and normally when an emailer <v Speaker 1>leaves their last name and I omit it. But I <v Speaker 1>think a declaration of war has been cast down? What <v Speaker 1>and this comes from the Regulation Podcast's own Andrew Panton <v Speaker 1>Dear Giant Bomb Crew on episode n twenty seven, an <v Speaker 1>emailer wrote in declaring you to be the hot Dog Podcast, <v Speaker 1>I love you guys, but I cannot allow this without challenge. <v Speaker 1>Last year we gained the hot dog crown after the <v Speaker 1>five of us tracked every hot dog we ate across <v Speaker 1>the year. We even have a wonderful community made a <v Speaker 1>site backing our data. As a show. We consumed one <v Speaker 1>hundred and fifty nine hot dogs across twelve months. Until <v Speaker 1>Giant Bomb can establish a higher year total. Regulation is <v Speaker 1>undeniably the hot Dog podcast, and that's regulation podcasts. <v Speaker 2>Love Andrew Panton. <v Speaker 5>We can't fucking compete with that. <v Speaker 2>What are you talking? <v Speaker 4>I came, I think even if back of our sits <v Speaker 4>out completely and. <v Speaker 2>We got this, I got this. Get show numbers up <v Speaker 2>boys probably, I think I think they can have this. <v Speaker 2>One person do it by myself. <v Speaker 3>I probably had three to five hot dogs last year. <v Speaker 2>Uh exactly, those are rookie number, and I like, I <v Speaker 2>probably had three to five hot dogs so far this year, <v Speaker 2>So I'm like, yeah, I can I can step up. <v Speaker 1>I think I'm I know so far this year, No, <v Speaker 1>I know, I've had twelve this you've had twelve. <v Speaker 5>You're averaging what the fuck is happening? <v Speaker 2>Sometimes you got to take a friend to Costco. No, <v Speaker 2>I don't have a Costco and I haven't been to <v Speaker 2>any ball games. Oh, I haven't counted my costcos. <v Speaker 3>I'm going to New York, going to New York City <v Speaker 3>this week, so I could do some damage there. <v Speaker 1>Okay, all right, all right from uh starting Lunar New Year, <v Speaker 1>February seventeenth. Everyone keep track of your hot dogs. Okay, <v Speaker 1>Jan got me a dog track, Dad? <v Speaker 2>Is that giant one from Costco still only count as <v Speaker 2>one hot Yeah? Yes, yeah, a Kia one. Yeah that's <v Speaker 2>a key key all right? Oh the twenty inchure, yeah, <v Speaker 2>the rigging that was a classic. Yeah. <v Speaker 5>I'm looking at this podcast and they got people putting <v Speaker 5>up some disgusting numbers. <v Speaker 1>The Regulation podcast thirty No, no, no, it's not about <v Speaker 1>a hot dog. <v Speaker 3>Oh, it's about friendship and embracing absurdity. <v Speaker 2>Yes, it's like us. <v Speaker 5>Yes, wait a minute, sooner, give me we all listen <v Speaker 5>to what I just said. Someone on their list has <v Speaker 5>had two hundred and thirty eight hot dogs in a <v Speaker 5>calendar year. <v Speaker 3>That's not that crazy. <v Speaker 2>That's almost a hot dog a day. I guess it's <v Speaker 2>missing seventy days, but like that's a lot of hot dogs. <v Speaker 2>It's like every day of war. <v Speaker 5>Oh listeners, Yeah, yeah, I'm sorry that someone calling themselves <v Speaker 5>k Van dev has had three seventy nine. <v Speaker 2>Okay, wait, is this like since they started tracking? <v Speaker 5>I don't know, but I'm gonna bar. I'm not not <v Speaker 5>your stomach, I know, but it feels like it is. <v Speaker 5>Geez all right, yeah, these are these. <v Speaker 2>Are former Rooster Teeth people and stuff like that. Yeaheah. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, So like Gavin from the SlowMo guys, Jeff Ramsey <v Speaker 1>or Laser I forget what his last name is now, <v Speaker 1>but Andrew Panton. The gauntlet has thrown and you know <v Speaker 1>what I'm is it Can we throw in people outside <v Speaker 1>of US five, like can Chuck Sean and will add <v Speaker 1>to those numbers? <v Speaker 4>You know, let's have every track and we'll just we'll <v Speaker 4>just see, we'll just see where we can endorse this. <v Speaker 3>We're announce our new premium show with Joey Chestnut. Also, yeah, he's. <v Speaker 2>From the Bay Area, all right, he's member for a <v Speaker 2>long time. We just haven't he's been. <v Speaker 1>We just said we could do four at a time, <v Speaker 1>all right, Oh my god, we don't we want to <v Speaker 1>be able to, like, you know, see the benefits of <v Speaker 1>subscriptions and realize these things. <v Speaker 2>We did the road trip. We only eat hot dogs. No, okay, so. <v Speaker 3>Many opportunities to eat fun regional food. <v Speaker 2>I can't that's insane fun regional hot dogs. Also, our <v Speaker 2>vehicle would be ranked with hot hot dog. <v Speaker 3>I have been in contact with the Wiener Mobile in <v Speaker 3>the past. I don't know if they still work. <v Speaker 2>Like I was. <v Speaker 3>Gonna drive the winner Rebil in the packs during a <v Speaker 3>packs wrestling thing. Aaron Tritz told me I wasn't allowed <v Speaker 3>to do that and also said it was impossible because <v Speaker 3>it was on the second floor and you can't drive <v Speaker 3>the windowmobile up and escalator. <v Speaker 2>But I didn't have Widowmobile. <v Speaker 3>Contacts at one point in my life, so we could <v Speaker 3>do contact. <v Speaker 1>Can someone on our internal discord make a new channel <v Speaker 1>with everyone and saying hot dog count please? <v Speaker 2>No good idea. I'm on it right now. I've a <v Speaker 2>cool of hot dog water in the Did. <v Speaker 5>You hear did you hear why Dan and Jeff Backlar <v Speaker 5>left Gian Bum? <v Speaker 2>Do you hear water was over? I don't It's just <v Speaker 2>the fun. <v Speaker 4>It's a fun thing to be proud of, because you <v Speaker 4>shouldn't be proud like. <v Speaker 1>It is there there there is an alternate world out <v Speaker 1>there where the dynamite of pride. <v Speaker 4>I think this is the definition of irony. I'm not sure, though, <v Speaker 4>I don't know. <v Speaker 1>There's a lot of it in Hotbogs, I think, But <v Speaker 1>there is an alternate world out there where the opening <v Speaker 1>of T M N T two Secret of the Ooze <v Speaker 1>is not about right and it's just people. <v Speaker 2>Yes, you can't take this away, Jan, watch your mouth. <v Speaker 1>With or without your help, back Glar, I will make <v Speaker 1>this the hot dog podcast. <v Speaker 2>Look, Jan, I'm so I'm gonna have a hot dog today. Brother? <v Speaker 5>Is that is that? <v Speaker 2>Okay? <v Speaker 5>If I just do a bunch of sour Crown and bronx, I. <v Speaker 2>Think it needs to be a you need to delineate like, <v Speaker 2>but you can count it, but you have to. You <v Speaker 2>have to make sure you let us know. I need <v Speaker 2>to tell us if it counts, will eat a broad <v Speaker 2>because that might be a little too doesn't count? Like, Hi, <v Speaker 2>what do you mean here? Oh my god? Casing is <v Speaker 2>a little tough sometimes. <v Speaker 1>In the key Boss, thank you Andrew for lighting a <v Speaker 1>fire within me, trying to find my way for something <v Speaker 1>else my window rebil emails might be on the Old <v Speaker 1>Giant Bombs. <v Speaker 2>How often do you say people work for. <v Speaker 3>Oscar revolving door at the Winnermobile factory. <v Speaker 5>I heard you stay there for a while. <v Speaker 2>It's gotta be a stepic stone of people's career paths <v Speaker 2>to like, I don't know, Jimmy Johnson, all. <v Speaker 1>Right, gag that about doesn't emails? Send your emails to <v Speaker 1>bombcasta Giant bomb dot com. You know what, it's not <v Speaker 1>just us that has made this a hot dog podcast. <v Speaker 2>You know everywhere I go it's hot glasies in stereo. <v Speaker 5>I can't escape from. <v Speaker 1>We used to sell a shirt with Patrick dressed up <v Speaker 1>as a hot dog. <v Speaker 5>Yeah, I know it's not just you've it's. <v Speaker 4>The Old Giant Bomb. Birthday President is sixteen playing hot dogs. <v Speaker 5>So yeah, there's a precedent. <v Speaker 1>Okay, all right, fantastic Mike Manatti, hit me with any <v Speaker 1>YouTube super chats if we got any we do. <v Speaker 2>Zach Moe says Dan is gonna turn into the lawnmower <v Speaker 2>Man via Virtual Boy, speaking of I want to play <v Speaker 2>that weird Sega Genesis lawnmower Man video games. Yeah I <v Speaker 2>do too. Yeah. Strummer Bro says we've seen a lot <v Speaker 2>of games adapted to movie slash TV shows recently. Any <v Speaker 2>films or shows or books you'd like to see turned <v Speaker 2>into a game a la John Wick Commando, So. <v Speaker 3>Good Wife, Commando, Commando, Rogue Light playing his Colonel down Matrix, yeah'd. <v Speaker 2>Be awesome, vert fun. But the Predator movies, Oh yeah, <v Speaker 2>Oh I see Predator. Okay, that'd be pretty good. Yeah, gosh, <v Speaker 2>we had like we had some you know, aliens predator games. <v Speaker 2>Has there ever been like a good just Predator game. <v Speaker 2>I don't think so any one was? <v Speaker 4>There are some well who will tell you that that <v Speaker 4>Predator asymmetrical online multiplayer game is. <v Speaker 3>That Hunting Ground or something? What was the one on <v Speaker 3>PS two It was Predator, Predator, Predators Concrete or something <v Speaker 3>with the PS two one. There's like a third person. Yeah, yeah, <v Speaker 3>it's not great. <v Speaker 2>Okay, okay, uh MiG Z says uh. Thebacclar is three <v Speaker 2>D printing key caps the next hot thing. <v Speaker 5>No, I don't think so, because a very specific kind <v Speaker 5>of plastic. Right yeah, they're usually a B S. I <v Speaker 5>know you can print a B S, but there is <v Speaker 5>a level of like, you know, finesse that a cap, <v Speaker 5>a real keyboard key cap has that, Like, I just <v Speaker 5>don't think you're getting out of a three D printer. <v Speaker 5>I printed a couple of those like key cap fidget <v Speaker 5>things for for DIB, and we we had to use <v Speaker 5>a regular key cap because the ones that we've kept <v Speaker 5>three D printing with like crack, Yes, you can do it, <v Speaker 5>but it's it's not the next top. <v Speaker 2>Thing, right, It's it's just not worth it, right because <v Speaker 2>you're going just be able to get the better quality <v Speaker 2>like guaranteed thing from someone a warranty and ship like <v Speaker 2>yeah yeah. <v Speaker 5>And the way they print on the real key caps <v Speaker 5>with like either it's like what are the sublimation and <v Speaker 5>you know double shot and all that stuff. Like the <v Speaker 5>printing technology is so much better and crisper, it's just <v Speaker 5>it's not there just yet. <v Speaker 2>Tricky Lef says, wanted to put super Battle Golf on <v Speaker 2>your radar if it isn't already eight player friends slop <v Speaker 2>golf with items like guns, mines, and orbital lasers. Okay, <v Speaker 2>well that sounds good battle golf. Let's look at that. <v Speaker 2>Mixy says m n. I think that means me somehow. <v Speaker 2>Aren't you supposed to be Vaca in Disneyland? Uh? No, <v Speaker 2>I came back from Orlando and I wasn't in Disney World. <v Speaker 2>I was in Disney Springs. I guess for a moment <v Speaker 2>if you want to count that. But it was a <v Speaker 2>long weekend. I'm back. Uh also says I'm sad there's <v Speaker 2>no Blike Club this week. I'm spared. Boy, do I <v Speaker 2>need just one week break? Boy, I'm so worried. Let's <v Speaker 2>shoot it today. Let's shoot it today. But he hasn't <v Speaker 2>and we can't anyway, there's no that's actually we had <v Speaker 2>a one meeting today. We could do it. Do it today. <v Speaker 2>We can't. Actually we can't. Absolutely not. I think I <v Speaker 2>need to be there. Do you want it today? What <v Speaker 2>do you want for your Delight Club? Uh? Was there <v Speaker 2>that demo for that game? That's kind of like if <v Speaker 2>you want to do that. Oh, there's the mythologies game <v Speaker 2>that it just like, we will check that out and <v Speaker 2>if that runs, you can just wash we play over <v Speaker 2>what Oh sure, sure yeah, Chat really wants it today. <v Speaker 2>Yeah there's literally it's not actually any time to do that. <v Speaker 2>It's two hours and meeting. I want to do it <v Speaker 2>the record show. Yeah yeah, great zombie porn, says My <v Speaker 2>favorite Mic is British Mike def Trogle. Yeah, what's your <v Speaker 2>favorite Mike Era or Faces of Minati bank robber Mike <v Speaker 2>of course. <v Speaker 1>Yeah yeah, oh bank robber Mike with Kyla would go <v Speaker 1>incredibly chaotic. <v Speaker 2>In our creators Jesus Christ, I love the same people <v Speaker 2>are like, you need to punish Dan Reker real horror <v Speaker 2>and be whatever. Like also, we want to see you <v Speaker 2>suffer today. I mean they want to see everyone on <v Speaker 2>Black Clubs suffer because. <v Speaker 3>That's not the point. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, yeah, it's been the point. It feels like it. <v Speaker 2>Real Rocket says, who won the crew would do their <v Speaker 2>dad job the best. Dan is a supposed to worker, <v Speaker 2>Backler is a taxi medallion broker. Mike is a doctor. <v Speaker 2>I'm not sure what grever Jan's fathers do, but say <v Speaker 2>to them, I definitely can't be a doctor. There's a <v Speaker 2>lot yet to learn about doing that. <v Speaker 3>And I don't mean my dad hasn't worked since twenty fifteen, <v Speaker 3>so I think I could do what he does now. Well, <v Speaker 3>I guess he sells baseball base so I could. I <v Speaker 3>could figure that out. <v Speaker 2>My dad sells plastics. I don't know, dad, Yeah, I <v Speaker 2>don't know, Like, yeah, I don't know. He's retiring now. <v Speaker 2>I could do that very easily. Yeah, my dad was <v Speaker 2>a busterer for several years. I could do that all right, then, <v Speaker 2>I don't. I still think Dan could probably for yeah, <v Speaker 2>do his father's job. The best was going to go <v Speaker 2>with it. Big Fresh says back. Are you watch Shorsy? <v Speaker 5>Oh yeah, I'm a I'm a big fan. I think <v Speaker 5>I think I still like Letter Kenny more than Shory. <v Speaker 5>But Suresey has surprised me. I thought season it was <v Speaker 5>the season three of Shoresy was like surprisingly really well <v Speaker 5>written and kind of like very impactful in a in <v Speaker 5>a really big way I've not seen. I have to finish. <v Speaker 5>I think I have to finish four and five, but <v Speaker 5>those are they're only like, you know, five or six <v Speaker 5>episode seasons. Yeah, that's great. I'm a I'm a huge fan. <v Speaker 5>Hell ya. <v Speaker 2>Next up is Andrew Panton and says, I'm sitting cozy <v Speaker 2>on this throne. I think it's referring to his hot <v Speaker 2>dog thrown. Oh we're coming for you. You can have it. <v Speaker 2>They ten hot dogs a day for fifteen days, and <v Speaker 2>you already win. Think about like that, everybody. I'm going <v Speaker 2>to text and backlar every time I have a hot dog. <v Speaker 5>That's what I do to Yeah, that's actually fine. I <v Speaker 5>have no problem with that. <v Speaker 1>Great man training for a hot training, training for a <v Speaker 1>hot dog, training for a marathon, and also try to <v Speaker 1>eat the most hot. <v Speaker 2>Protein protein you know there. <v Speaker 3>You know some of those gel packs and stuff you <v Speaker 3>put in your running belt for the long run days, <v Speaker 3>they're so cylindrical. <v Speaker 2>I bet it. <v Speaker 3>And I've got like one of those zipper belts. I <v Speaker 3>slide like six hot dogs into that belt. <v Speaker 2>Oh like a band of the year. <v Speaker 1>Yeah okay, yeah, okay, okay, okay, uh. <v Speaker 2>Oh go ahead, back art. Do you want to say something. <v Speaker 5>No, I'm trying to like really unpack the whole thing. <v Speaker 5>I also think it's like they're just like fun little <v Speaker 5>like like a little Wiener pink Wiener floppy things, And <v Speaker 5>I think that like leans into the whole thing as well, like, oh, <v Speaker 5>that's just a funny looking food product. <v Speaker 2>Anyway. I'm just trying to. <v Speaker 5>Understand the psychology of it all, because you can all <v Speaker 5>like look beyond all of these you know, on its <v Speaker 5>face disgusting, inherently thing inherently disgusting things, and still be <v Speaker 5>okay with it. Trying to understand it is what I think. <v Speaker 2>I think a big part of it is this reaction <v Speaker 2>right here back, the fact that normal by it, that <v Speaker 2>it's like, yeah, man, I'm gonna get a bunch of <v Speaker 2>them crazy, fair enough enough. Zombie point says, if I <v Speaker 2>ven venmo jan money, can you use it on hot dogs? <v Speaker 2>Don't venmo me money please? That's what Migsy says. Grub. <v Speaker 2>Would Blizzard ever bring back Blackborn? Hey, Migsy, does Grub <v Speaker 2>look like the Blizzard guy around here? Does Jeff Grubb <v Speaker 2>know that Blizzard thought about putting John Blackthorn whatever his <v Speaker 2>name is, and here's the storm then it didn't happen? <v Speaker 2>Do you think he knows that? I didn't know that. <v Speaker 2>Oh but no, Mike's Mike's definitely the Blizzard guy. I'm Mike. <v Speaker 2>What's happening with Blackthorn and I gotta bring Blackthorn back. No, <v Speaker 2>they're not gonna bring blackfrn. <v Speaker 4>Probably they'll they'll probably like re release it again and <v Speaker 4>again like he use in that Arcade Classics collection or whatever. <v Speaker 2>You know, it's it's it's it's fun. I mean, they're <v Speaker 2>probably gonna bring three thirty Dwarves back before they bring <v Speaker 2>Blackthorn back. I don't think they're gonna do that either. <v Speaker 2>So yeah, I don't think it's that. Yeah, rock and <v Speaker 2>roll racing, they'll they'll bring that back. Uh well, now <v Speaker 2>because that would be a nightmare because they had to <v Speaker 2>they had to pay for those rights for those songs before, <v Speaker 2>and now it's gonna be hell because you actually get <v Speaker 2>to do It'll just be a mode in one of <v Speaker 2>their games. Ye have a rock and Roll racing Overwatch night. <v Speaker 2>And then Andrew Panton's back with with the with the <v Speaker 2>with the generous one here saying some starter hot dogs <v Speaker 2>are even Broughts on me, so that everybody first first <v Speaker 2>dogs on Andrew. All right, all right, boys, that about <v Speaker 2>does well, Mike? <v Speaker 1>Is that it for super Jets, that is effected for <v Speaker 1>super Jets, thick everybody, Thank you Mike Minati for reading <v Speaker 1>them or was what we got? No blight <v Speaker 1>club tomorrow because of delight appointments, so we'll have a <v Speaker 1>d light club. Maybe we'll just sit and eat hot <v Speaker 1>dogs for two hours, delightful. <v Speaker 3>If I see you in a discorder or something, I <v Speaker 3>will I will discord in form New York City with <v Speaker 3>a hot dog in my hand. <v Speaker 1>Oh gee, please please do games. That's the content creator's curse, Like <v Speaker 2>that's how it goes. Yeah, exactly, just sabotaging him, make <v Speaker 2>him put command lines into trying to reprogram the game <v Speaker 2>on the fly. Oh my god, he's part of the show. <v Speaker 2>And I like how offended on I got to see <v Speaker 2>myself peak. Why would you play Skyrim and not play <v Speaker 2>around with the console command, Are you child? Never? It's <v Speaker 2>already basically for babies. It's so easy.
