[SPEAKER_00]: Andre, this is a great time of year because we can look back and we can do a little bit of Monday morning football and coaching by looking back and figuring out what trucks were best sellers and maybe more importantly what trucks were flopped last year.
[SPEAKER_00]: So in this episode we're going to go through and talk about, you know,
[SPEAKER_01]: Which trucks you guys bought and which trucks you guys didn't buy exactly the winners and losers So to speak and by the way happy new year.
[SPEAKER_01]: I haven't seen you this year yet.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, I just got back from Florida Yeah, where I was driving a Mazuradi whoa But we'll see if that car that's not exciting What's exciting?
[SPEAKER_01]: I was in purgatory.
[SPEAKER_00]: I mean the ski resort.
[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you're not an actual person.
[SPEAKER_00]: You didn't die in comeback
[SPEAKER_01]: No, I was yeah, I was gone for a little while.
[SPEAKER_01]: You were gone, so but now we're back in the big force and we have all the numbers You know me.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm kind of a numbers guy.
[SPEAKER_01]: You are if not numbers.
[SPEAKER_01]: You're nothing.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm sorry.
[SPEAKER_00]: You are definitely not allowed by numbers This is episode 313 by the way.
[SPEAKER_00]: Wow.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, there's 13 of these.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, it makes me feel very old Thank you doing it a long time.
[SPEAKER_00]: I mean divide that by 52 and you're at six years
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's not bad.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, not bad.
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: So let's take a look at this because basically all many factors published our numbers.
[SPEAKER_01]: There's a couple of manufacturers.
[SPEAKER_01]: They're a little bit vague.
[SPEAKER_01]: Like Tesla doesn't really break out.
[SPEAKER_01]: They're cyber truck sales very clearly.
[SPEAKER_01]: But we have all the data so we can go to TFL truck.
[SPEAKER_00]: So, you know, we did, you did, you in case the video on this when the numbers first came out.
[SPEAKER_00]: Now we're going to kind of a deep dive into it.
[SPEAKER_00]: But I didn't watch that video, so I'm going to be learning like the rest of you out there from Andre.
[SPEAKER_00]: But I'm going to take a guess.
[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to take a guess that the cyber truck did not outsell the F-150.
[SPEAKER_00]: I like Mr. Musk had promised.
[SPEAKER_00]: Is that, is that too wild of a guess?
[SPEAKER_00]: No, you're on the money.
[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_01]: Bullseye.
[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
[SPEAKER_01]: So, so in fact, the cyber truck
[SPEAKER_01]: Really, so they sold about 39,000 cyber trucks in 2024 and they sold 17,000 according to some sources in 2025.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, because they don't really like you said break out the numbers only way We really know how many they sold is by recalls, which is like that's a good way to know Because the cyber truck has ads of recalls.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's right.
[SPEAKER_00]: I think I think this is you know There's that old age don't mix politics and
[SPEAKER_00]: Business and I think a lot of people have been trying to figure out whether that is true and I think in this case It certainly was true, especially in Europe if you look at sales of Tesla's and I know we're kind of veering Old Tesla's yeah into the car world here, but Sales of Tesla's in Europe have really fallen off a cliff.
[SPEAKER_00]: They're down by like 25%
[SPEAKER_00]: And more in some countries, more in some countries, yeah, and you know, you could attribute that to things like the advent of the Chinese Electrical car, the advent of much more capable Traditional, let's call them legacy manufacturer EVs, but I think a lot of it is down to Mr. Musk himself
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and, but here in the US, the pickup truck manufacturers, they like those big claims.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm the best selling truck.
[SPEAKER_00]: 150 is best selling truck for 49 million years, right?
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's what they say, but we have to dig deeper because it may or may not seem what it is.
[SPEAKER_01]: But how about we save the full-size trucks just for a little later?
[SPEAKER_01]: I wanted to show you what's happening with full size.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we got some news, truck-based SUVs because we didn't do these numbers yet.
[SPEAKER_00]: Alright, so tell me about the Tahoe, the suburban looks like you've got a forward expedition up there.
[SPEAKER_01]: Exactly.
[SPEAKER_01]: And the Jeep Grand Wagonier, all of them so cold, if you scroll down just a little bit, we can take a look at some of these numbers.
[SPEAKER_01]: And it may be no surprise that General Motors is still kind of a dominant player in this space.
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, you know, there is that trivia that the suburban is the longest nameplate in the American car scene.
[SPEAKER_00]: In other words, it's the one name of a vehicle that's been around the longest, certainly almost 80 years, no longer than Corvash, yes, 90 years maybe.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: So, exactly.
[SPEAKER_00]: And I think, you know, that says a lot.
[SPEAKER_00]: I think when people are looking for a three-row that'll tow, that's probably the one they think of.
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I was just at the ski resort, right?
[SPEAKER_01]: A couple of days back, a purgatory.
[SPEAKER_01]: And there's a lot of outstate folks because it's kind of a southern.
[SPEAKER_01]: This is almost a south in Colorado as you can get near Durango.
[SPEAKER_01]: And guess where all of the
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, of course.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: There were suburbans.
[SPEAKER_01]: There was expeditions.
[SPEAKER_01]: I saw a lot of pickup trucks.
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, this is the road trip vehicle, right?
[SPEAKER_01]: When you want a road trip somewhere, for example, a ski resort like this, you probably load up in your Cadillac escalate or Lincoln Navigator or your Sequoia or Tahoe and you keep trucking.
[SPEAKER_01]: All right, so how do the suburban do in terms of sales?
[SPEAKER_01]: Wow, so it climbed 32% due to year over year.
[SPEAKER_01]: So huge sales improvement, but the Tahoe is still king.
[SPEAKER_01]: The Tahoe sold 114,000 vehicles in 2025 and then improved by about 8%.
[SPEAKER_01]: So Tahoe is the one that, I don't think that's because it's a little cheaper.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's a little, it's not as long as it's a suburban homie.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's a little bit more approachable in terms of its driving dynamics.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's more of the, let's call it the Swiss Army knife of the three row because it kind of does it all, right?
[SPEAKER_00]: There's an off-roady one.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's got enough room behind the third row where you can actually get some stuff in there.
[SPEAKER_00]: It doesn't have as much room obviously as it's a suburban.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: And it's a, it's a good looking truck.
[SPEAKER_01]: Now, GMC, you know, Yukon, there's also Yukon Excel, which is suburban brother, basically, but they don't break out those sales.
[SPEAKER_01]: They talk about all the Yukon's, and this is more like Julius Vehicle, you know, actually, there is some data that says, people who buy Yukon,
[SPEAKER_01]: probably have higher net worth than all the other people on this list, you know, even more than people who buy catalogs, because they want to be understated, but still have a very nice, luxurious vehicle.
[SPEAKER_01]: So how many in total is so?
[SPEAKER_01]: 93,000 if you believe it's on that in the year.
[SPEAKER_01]: And it's also up 6%, about 6.6%.
[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, how about the expedition coming in at number three here in terms of overall sales?
[SPEAKER_01]: Exactly, so Ford is not laying down, right?
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, yes, GM, Taho's and GMC's are really strong, but they also climbed.
[SPEAKER_01]: They sold 85,000, almost 86,000 expeditions in 2025, up 10% over previous year.
[SPEAKER_01]: So look at this, they're knocking on the door of the Yukong.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, do you like the smiley face on the new expedition?
[SPEAKER_00]: I do.
[SPEAKER_00]: I do actually.
[SPEAKER_00]: I do.
[SPEAKER_00]: Can you show a picture up above here?
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, cool.
[SPEAKER_00]: Think they kind of get a grill.
[SPEAKER_00]: Miley face, right?
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, look at that.
[SPEAKER_00]: There it is.
[SPEAKER_00]: See, what do you think, Cole?
[SPEAKER_00]: Do you notice that?
[SPEAKER_01]: It's like a little big smile on the front of it.
[SPEAKER_01]: Exactly.
[SPEAKER_01]: And you know what?
[SPEAKER_01]: I was just talking to my cousin, Mike.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you know, Mike.
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't like it.
[SPEAKER_01]: We interviewed him.
[SPEAKER_01]: Actually, he helped us out shipping with shipping.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: He said he likes the front of the New York's position, but he doesn't like the rear.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Cole, can you look up an image of a 2026 expedition and I actually appreciate the rear hatch of these new trucks because it's kind of a split tailgate, right?
[SPEAKER_01]: There's a tailgate that falls down.
[SPEAKER_01]: I think there's an image right below there, right there.
[SPEAKER_01]: And then there's a part that opens up, so it's kind of handy in my perspective, but he said he didn't like the way it looks.
[SPEAKER_01]: Now, you want, well, it's also got a smiley little smiley face.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but yeah, you went on the launch of this, right?
[SPEAKER_00]: I did.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and what do you think of it?
[SPEAKER_01]: Do you like it?
[SPEAKER_01]: I did it drives amazing and they improved the suspension system and a lot of these vehicles You know what they're doing they're increasing the size of the wheels and tires right now You're rolling on 24s on some of these models.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I know that.
[SPEAKER_00]: I remember when I when I was the launch it was unveiling over the latest suburban slash
[SPEAKER_00]: And I talked about 24s, right?
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, which is crazy because, oh god, to make those right well, because you're writing on rubber bands at that point.
[SPEAKER_00]: Exactly.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's not existent.
[SPEAKER_00]: And to make that right well, you really have to do some suspension magic.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but I think what helps, I test drove a couple of different suburbans and townhouses and also the expedition and the longer the wheelbase, the bear it gets, so you can spread out that way.
[SPEAKER_01]: All right, so which is cool.
[SPEAKER_00]: Let me ask you this.
[SPEAKER_00]: You got two townhouses.
[SPEAKER_00]: All right.
[SPEAKER_00]: one one is the let's say the city's liquor right it's got whatever it is 22's or 23's so maybe like RSD performance right it's kind of low and mean or you get the off-rody one which is writing on like what it would be writing on 20's maybe i think it's a small one is with like a 33 inch tall yeah i would be all all-terrain type yeah which looked you like better
[SPEAKER_00]: Hmm, do you like, well, I like the, like the street or you like the country it is country, you know me, I'm country Yeah, I like, I like the country looks better.
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, it's a truck, right?
[SPEAKER_01]: There's a frame underneath.
[SPEAKER_01]: So in my opinion, it should be like a Z71 or the tremor, you know, the expedition tremor that they also have, make, makes a little bit more macho in my view.
[SPEAKER_00]: Here's my hot take, okay?
[SPEAKER_00]: This is my hot take and see if you agree with it's coal.
[SPEAKER_00]: I figured this out when I was just in Florida.
[SPEAKER_00]: So as you know, Andre, my mom passed away earlier last year and she left me a condo on Marqueu Island.
[SPEAKER_00]: Marqueu Island has gotten, my parents bought that place in 83 when it was still being developed.
[SPEAKER_00]: well over 40 years ago yeah for a hundred and like sixty thousand dollars okay but now it's gotten very richy and there's a lot of rich folk who go and vacation down there so Marco if you want to know Marco is it's below Naples Florida which is kind of directly across from Miami so if you were to drive across the peninsula Florida from Miami on alligator alley you would hit Naples and or Marco Island that's where it's at
[SPEAKER_00]: on the golf side.
[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, so all these ritty cars, and as you know, I recently flew down there and I bought a Bentley Continental, a Canti, I like to call it a Canti, convertible.
[SPEAKER_00]: And we're going to get the trucks, don't worry, I'm not.
[SPEAKER_00]: What are you coming from?
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not hijacking this.
[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, trucks.
[SPEAKER_00]: So I bought a Conti down there and drove it back up here and the thing about the Continental's down there is it's there's a lot of them and I bought a 2007 so you know 35,000 this is not a $400,000 car no no no no we don't roll that but but it just feels like an old man car
[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, but but the like it has presence.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but it just feels like because everybody down there is, you know, gray hair or no hair and I suspect very wealthy when they're driving these things and it's just, and this is a convertible and it just feels like the kind of car where, you know, you've gone to the part of your life where comfort becomes the overriding factor about everything else.
[SPEAKER_00]: But did you feel inadequate in your older continental?
[SPEAKER_00]: Is that where you're coming?
[SPEAKER_00]: No, I didn't feel, I love the, I don't care.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm sure what people think of me.
[SPEAKER_00]: But the fact is that when you drive it down there, you just feel like you're one of the old retirees, you know, you're waiting.
[SPEAKER_00]: You've got money, and you can't take it with you.
[SPEAKER_00]: So you might as well spend it on, I mean, continental's are probably $400,000 now, new ones.
[SPEAKER_00]: So why not?
[SPEAKER_00]: But here's the thing I figured out.
[SPEAKER_00]: All Continental's live either in South Florida or in Naples because it's sorry, not Naples, in Southern California.
[SPEAKER_00]: There's Southern Florida or Southern California because that's kind of where, you know, or the beach is or the sun is and that's where the older folk are.
[SPEAKER_00]: But if you take that vehicle and you take it out of context and you put it here in Colorado, all of a sudden, it stops, I think, it stops being like an old man car and kind of stops starts being a cool, classic, so because it's not as common.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so like right now it's snowing outside and the video I want to do with that Conti is I want to take the top down throw some skis or board in the back and take it.
[SPEAKER_00]: We thanks to our friends And who does blues act, Michelin, right?
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, they give us the Bridgestone.
[SPEAKER_00]: Great stone.
[SPEAKER_00]: Sorry, Bridgestone.
[SPEAKER_00]: Thanks to our friends.
[SPEAKER_00]: Not Michelin.
[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you.
[SPEAKER_00]: Sorry about that.
[SPEAKER_00]: Bridgestone.
[SPEAKER_00]: Thanks to our friends at Bridgestone.
[SPEAKER_00]: We got the all weather tires for it.
[SPEAKER_00]: And so now we have snow-rated tires and all-wheel drive car in the video we're going to make.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to make because I'm going to take the top down, I'm going to throw some skis in the back, or we're going to go skiing and I think that's how you make a car cool.
[SPEAKER_00]: So what you're doing is you're taking the car out of its context and it's normally and putting it in a different context.
[SPEAKER_00]: So you're taking it out of sunny Mark Guilin and putting it in snowy Colorado and all of a sudden it kind of becomes cool and hip because it doesn't belong here and it goes from being an old geaser car to kind of like a youthful car.
[SPEAKER_00]: And I think the same thing happens when you do that with the towel.
[SPEAKER_00]: When you take the towel and you take it off those...
[SPEAKER_00]: you know, twenty-two's or twenty-three's and you put it on some off-road tires.
[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, and then you take it down, let's say Manhattan, all of a sudden that off-road car becomes cool.
[SPEAKER_00]: I think that's the reason that, like, the G-wagon is so much like, because even though, you know, it is a, it is the biggest off-road of the Mercedes builds, most of them never see a liquor dirt, most of them are driving around LA or New York, but because it's out of context, it's cool.
[SPEAKER_00]: So that's my feeling about these big trucks.
[SPEAKER_01]: So that's how you brought it back.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's how I brought it back to the Tahoe.
[SPEAKER_00]: The Tahoe on off road, big old off road tires with a lift.
[SPEAKER_00]: Even if you're driving down, let's say, you know, Manhattan River is cool.
[SPEAKER_01]: We were a nice 70 in the mountains last year.
[SPEAKER_01]: And you and I, and I think case, and maybe Cole was there.
[SPEAKER_01]: We saw a Lamborghini, I think it was a Diablo with like, skis on top.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that was cool too.
[SPEAKER_01]: That is cool.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you take it out of contact.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_00]: Get it out of South Beach and you put it up here in the mountains.
[SPEAKER_00]: With skis on top.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not sure that I'm not sure that the Bentley is as cool as we can make it cool.
[SPEAKER_00]: We can try.
[SPEAKER_01]: We can wear goggles, put the top down, wear goggles, and just drive into the snow.
[SPEAKER_00]: You don't need goggles.
[SPEAKER_00]: We've got a windshield.
[SPEAKER_00]: We've got heated seats in a windshield.
[SPEAKER_00]: So all you need.
[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_00]: All right.
[SPEAKER_00]: All right.
[SPEAKER_00]: So let's keep going on the list.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, Don has a question.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: So thank you.
[SPEAKER_01]: We are on patreon.com slash tfl car live right now.
[SPEAKER_01]: So if you're patreon, you could also interact with us.
[SPEAKER_01]: So Don is asking when brands report sales.
[SPEAKER_01]: Is this a to just do a dealership or is that an actual registered vehicle?
[SPEAKER_01]: Which is a really important question.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so like Don is asking, when a car gets sold, it gets sold to a dealership as opposed to the end customer, which would be you and me.
[SPEAKER_00]: And is the manufacturer counting sales to customers or sales to dealers as being a sale?
[SPEAKER_00]: What's the answer, Andrew?
[SPEAKER_01]: customers, because when I look at all these numbers, is they also state the inventory, right?
[SPEAKER_01]: So they're saying, you know, we saw this many, but are inventory, and by inventory that means cars on lots, checks on lots.
[SPEAKER_01]: I think if you kind of say else to dealers, you would really skew the numbers because yeah, because a lot of them, there's like half a million trucks unsolved still waiting right now.
[SPEAKER_01]: So that would be a really a skewed way of looking at it.
[SPEAKER_01]: But also a customer is like a fleet manager.
[SPEAKER_01]: So like if you were Amazon and just bought a hundred F-150s, that would also be a customer,
[SPEAKER_00]: Alright, let's keep going down that list.
[SPEAKER_00]: You haven't gotten to the bottom yet, so we were at the suburban.
[SPEAKER_00]: And next comes the slate, my man.
[SPEAKER_01]: Escalade.
[SPEAKER_01]: Dude, they sold almost 50,000 of them in 2025.
[SPEAKER_01]: Also up.
[SPEAKER_00]: Do they break out the E.B.
[SPEAKER_00]: one from the regular one?
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, scroll down, actually, coal.
[SPEAKER_01]: So they have the Escalade IQ, which I labeled as EV because not a lot of people understand IQ.
[SPEAKER_01]: Wow, that's funny, but look good, they escalate, electric escalate, I would solve the Lexus LX.
[SPEAKER_01]: I thought that it was interesting because Lexus LX is basically a land cruiser in Lexus clothing that's been around for decades.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's also, uh, they're both about comparable actually, right?
[SPEAKER_00]: Cause the uh, uh, uh, Lexus LX is about 120 in the escalate.
[SPEAKER_00]: Probably he starts a little bit more than that.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: Probably starts there.
[SPEAKER_01]: So that's really interesting that people a lot of people are choosing an electric luxury SUV, um, at least right now.
[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe the rumors of, uh, EVs death have been, uh,
[SPEAKER_00]: somewhat exaggerated if it's outselling a Lexus or it could have, I mean, or maybe I'll see there was a status symbol.
[SPEAKER_00]: There's a lot more a Cadillac dealer's Lexus.
[SPEAKER_00]: Actually, I think there are more Cadillac dealer.
[SPEAKER_00]: So there's a lot that goes into these numbers.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, there is.
[SPEAKER_00]: And you know, you can't take this, you have to take it with a grain of salt.
[SPEAKER_01]: But I was just, you know, just a few months ago, I was at my son's soccer game, and there was an escalated IQ parked in the front.
[SPEAKER_01]: So it's almost like a status symbol, right?
[SPEAKER_01]: It's something new and fresh that I think some people are actually looking at.
[SPEAKER_00]: All right, so next on the list is the Nissan Armada up 14% of course it's new, which has Yeah, went from V8 to a twin turbo V6 and also the Infinity QX80 same story, right?
[SPEAKER_01]: It's also refreshed.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's also has a twin turbo V6 now.
[SPEAKER_00]: So about a 15,267 Infinity QX 10,333.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you think Nissan's happy with those numbers?
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, they're growing the infinity group by about 31% and they are moderate group by 14% Ish.
[SPEAKER_01]: So I think they're I think they need to sell more They're still below the navigator, right?
[SPEAKER_01]: So now we're going from the bottom up and so then Armara and infinity together
[SPEAKER_01]: What's sold about 30,000 vehicles?
[SPEAKER_01]: That's not too bad.
[SPEAKER_00]: The interesting thing about the Armada is that we just had that nismo version.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm looking at a lot of these other vehicles that are on the list.
[SPEAKER_00]: And what makes the nismo version unique is that it's kind of a sporty one.
[SPEAKER_00]: It has like a body kit.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's got a body kit.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's got this cool paint job.
[SPEAKER_00]: It looks like it's got like the skirt on, that gives it arrow.
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I don't know if skirts on trucks are that cool.
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, that's when I was wondering, you think that this is a trend, or do you think that the Nissan's kind of, you know, just trying anything, throwing stuff up against a wall to see what sticks.
[SPEAKER_00]: You think that we will see,
[SPEAKER_00]: Sporty versions because when I was at the quail, Infinity had built a track version of the QX AD as well that they were showing.
[SPEAKER_00]: Of course, same company, right?
[SPEAKER_00]: Infinity and Nissan, like a good delivered version of it.
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, yeah, I mean, you did have the trackhawk?
[SPEAKER_00]: Right, which is a two row, but do you think that at some point that any of these other companies will come and actually compete in like a track focused or sport focused you foresee like a like a Tahoe, what would you call it I think they're almost getting there.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so the RST Tahoe is, you know, it has, so first of all, Chevy sells them to police departments, right?
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, you've seen those Chevy Tahoe's, you know, with lights on top of them.
[SPEAKER_00]: But I don't think they are, I don't think it's like, I don't think they lowered it.
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think they, like, they haven't given its sports suspension.
[SPEAKER_00]: Whereas you are mad actually, if you look at our mad, you'd know that this is something that is like, hey, we're going to put this.
[SPEAKER_01]: Cool, can you look up a Chevy Tahoe RST performance?
[SPEAKER_01]: Um, it has that kind of a slightly lowered, a little bit more, which, I don't know, I'm not sure how far it's lowered, maybe just half an inch, but it's actually an RST.
[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe you could build it in the configurator.
[SPEAKER_00]: There it is.
[SPEAKER_00]: That does not look sporty to me, Andre.
[SPEAKER_00]: There's a different version.
[SPEAKER_00]: That looks anything that's sporty.
[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe you can, um, let's see images do some images, yeah, with the black tie wheels and tires.
[SPEAKER_00]: So it's a blacked out.
[SPEAKER_01]: So you see it almost looks like kind of a government high performance vehicle because it's a Chevy Tahoe that's purchased by a lot of governments.
[SPEAKER_01]: So it has that a little bit more sporty up here.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so now Cole, could you click G'day on this Mo, Armada, and surely difference?
[SPEAKER_00]: you like that skirt huh no i don't like the skirt i think it looks funny but you're wondering if it's a trend yeah okay not make that bigger would you look on that guy there you go yeah so that to me screams performance right that red line that runs along the skirt the red line that runs on yeah right the towel it just looks like it's a serious let's call it a serious version of a towel this to me looks like it they they actually went for
[SPEAKER_01]: I support the sport, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, so it's car.
[SPEAKER_01]: So Ford also called do me another favorite.
[SPEAKER_01]: Look up Ford Expedition stealth.
[SPEAKER_00]: Now I say that because I was just a CMO with you.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and these time it was kind of fun by me out there.
[SPEAKER_00]: And their CMO build was in Armada with the GTR engine.
[SPEAKER_00]: Now that is sporty.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, that was a thousand horse power.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that one was like dude take my money take my money the problem of course with the nismo is that there's no I actually just the same problem with all of these right it's like let's let the older one, but yeah, they have a stealth performance It's like the logo where it's just a body kid
[SPEAKER_00]: maybe some suspension tuning, maybe some like, you know, head rest with a little bit of sporty embroidery in it.
[SPEAKER_00]: But unless you actually go for the power plant, it's not sporty to me.
[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
[SPEAKER_00]: That was a brilliant.
[SPEAKER_00]: That was a brilliant.
[SPEAKER_00]: So the trackhawk.
[SPEAKER_01]: I agree.
[SPEAKER_00]: They took a, they took a Hellcat engine, lowered it, lowered a grand Cherokee and made it into a track-eating monster.
[SPEAKER_01]: Actually, I just realized something.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, what's that?
[SPEAKER_01]: Cool forget about all this call go to Cadillac Escalade V There we go the V supercharged.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, humongous.
[SPEAKER_00]: Wow, so maybe you need a trend.
[SPEAKER_01]: So maybe it is a trend.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes I would forget about all of this What there this what 650 is horsepower in a luxury SUV
[SPEAKER_00]: When I talk to other one journalist they all kind of make fun of this car because it's like to them It seems very outrageous.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, but this is out of all of them.
[SPEAKER_01]: This is the one that gets my heart going Oh, yes, because as soon as you start the engine and it comes to life and it's actually loud So it's not understated in any Can you find the video where we drag raced it and we drag raced?
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yes, we got to play the audio of this because are we able to hear it
[SPEAKER_00]: I can't, don't, I can't hear it, it will show to at least another extra, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait
[SPEAKER_01]: Is that it?
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Anyways, we love doing drug racing for this reason.
[SPEAKER_01]: I think you love watching it too.
[SPEAKER_01]: Because whenever we look at Nathan, he's dressed up for this.
[SPEAKER_01]: Whenever we do a drag race with trucks, people always say, why are you doing this?
[SPEAKER_01]: But a lot more people watch it.
[SPEAKER_01]: So, that's what it is.
[SPEAKER_00]: So we drag race it against, at that time, our Hummer EV.
[SPEAKER_00]: Exactly, which is a thousand horsepower.
[SPEAKER_00]: There's Nathan with his foot to the floor and teeth grinding.
[SPEAKER_00]: And there was an army.
[SPEAKER_01]: This is not a good demonstration of the coolness of the supercharger.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's not a good demo.
[SPEAKER_00]: So here comes the finish line, there goes the Hummer EV, oh it's way back there.
[SPEAKER_00]: But that would wager, I mean, let's see how many V, I couldn't see it.
[SPEAKER_01]: 12.3, quarter mile, that's insane.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's a 12 second quarter mile, probably like 13 or something.
[SPEAKER_00]: So why don't they do the people's version of that, why don't they do a supercharged tile hall?
[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, General Motors, please, please, please.
[SPEAKER_00]: Hey, GM, did you know that Ram just brought back the TRX?
[SPEAKER_00]: Did you hear that?
[SPEAKER_00]: Did they know that?
[SPEAKER_00]: Hello?
[SPEAKER_00]: Hello, GM, did you know that?
[SPEAKER_00]: Hello.
[SPEAKER_00]: Did you know that Ford has a Raptor R?
[SPEAKER_00]: Did you know that?
[SPEAKER_00]: And what do you have?
[SPEAKER_00]: They have an escalate.
[SPEAKER_01]: They have an escalate V. Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: You have escalate V. With a mere 670 horsepower.
[SPEAKER_00]: Because the new ramp TRIX is over 777.
[SPEAKER_00]: 777.
[SPEAKER_00]: 777.
[SPEAKER_00]: 777.
[SPEAKER_00]: And we're not talking about Boeing.
[SPEAKER_00]: A hundred more than your escalate.
[SPEAKER_00]: 100 more.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Chris is 100 more.
[SPEAKER_01]: Chris and Dave are here on Patreon and live.
[SPEAKER_01]: So thank you for joining us.
[SPEAKER_01]: Chris says I'm shocked at 8100 escalates.
[SPEAKER_01]: EVs were sold.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's over a billion dollars in total revenue.
[SPEAKER_01]: He's not wrong.
[SPEAKER_01]: No, because then that's a lot.
[SPEAKER_01]: And Dave says happy new year guys having a moment of silence for the lightning.
[SPEAKER_00]: Hey GM.
[SPEAKER_00]: Did you know the gas is now $2 a gallon, and that the Trump administration has basically neutered EPA standards.
[SPEAKER_00]: I think they've heard that.
[SPEAKER_00]: You think you've heard that?
[SPEAKER_01]: Just slowly delaying.
[SPEAKER_01]: Died.
[SPEAKER_00]: All right.
[SPEAKER_00]: We talked about this.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, let's go back and talk about the rest of it because we haven't gone well.
[SPEAKER_00]: We're almost there.
[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_00]: Let's finish.
[SPEAKER_00]: Let's finish your off because we wanted one.
[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you.
[SPEAKER_01]: Good.
[SPEAKER_01]: uh not the best so so they're changing over right talk about the grandwagon here wagon here yes and they're renaming all of them now grandwagon here so the wagon here name will be kind of set a little bit away for example wagon here as electric
[SPEAKER_01]: SUV is still there, but the big 3-row SUVs are all going to be called Grand Wagonier now, and they had a really great fourth quarter So in fourth quarter they sold over 10,000 Grand Wagoniers, but for the year they were down Actually look, they're the only manufacturer that in 2025 actually declined
[SPEAKER_01]: Was that wrong, did they lower the price?
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, they did.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: So that's a good thing, right?
[SPEAKER_01]: And I think that's showing up in the data.
[SPEAKER_01]: But if you scroll just really quickly to the bottom of the page, where you add a little bit further, a little bit further, I combined all the numbers.
[SPEAKER_01]: And GMA's on top, they have about 60% of the market than Ford and Lincoln are next.
[SPEAKER_01]: And then, Grandwagonier is number three.
[SPEAKER_01]: So Stylantes is there.
[SPEAKER_01]: Then number four is Toyota Lexus, and number five is Nissan Infinity.
[SPEAKER_00]: So let's go back up, Cole, how did the circuit do?
[SPEAKER_01]: uh... even even even steven the sea that point out point all three percent so so i think Toyota maybe i don't know if you've their hitting a ceiling with their sequia or i'm not quite sure but funny that the most offered worthy of those which is at the very bottom the lx lexas has only sold uh... two thousand
[SPEAKER_01]: in the quarter and 7400.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: I wonder why that is.
[SPEAKER_00]: I wonder why people that that to me out of all of these, okay?
[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, that would be the one I would buy just because you talk about the 700H triple lock.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: Exactly.
[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe get it with those captain seats in the back.
[SPEAKER_00]: But it's looking both.
[SPEAKER_00]: Can you get it with those captain seats?
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: like recliners.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's like private airplane seating, right?
[SPEAKER_00]: Almost done.
[SPEAKER_00]: Most worry, the seat comes up and the foot rest comes up and you've got, you know, your own little control there for all of your comfort features.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's interesting that out of all these, that's the least selling.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's not even the least expensive.
[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it's not the most expensive.
[SPEAKER_00]: I would think that the escalated IQ is more expensive.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm looking at the solic, probably the grand wagon here would have been more expensive at least the beginning of the year.
[SPEAKER_00]: So even at, you know, even though it's $120,000, I still think, but Roman, wonder why that is?
[SPEAKER_01]: Cole, can you show me the total at the bottom of this?
[SPEAKER_01]: So 541,000 of these biggest EVs were sold in the year, which is up 11%.
[SPEAKER_01]: So we get a lot of comments from everybody who listens and watches that vehicles are getting more expensive.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, but this data shows that more than ever, and probably a lot of them are fleets, right?
[SPEAKER_01]: So when you see luxury shuttles that resorts or vagas, when you go to some of these places, a lot of them are escalates or a lot of them are very nice linkons, but the numbers are going up.
[SPEAKER_00]: The question I have on the Lexus Alex is it's got that twin turbo V6 that now to it is replaced 200,000 though, but they haven't done the hybrids yet, because it's a hybride.
[SPEAKER_00]: So the Lexus Alex is not technically affected yet, but I have this sneaking suspicion that it's the same engine that's in the
[SPEAKER_00]: non-hybrid, and Toyota slowly kind of rolling out the recalls, trying not to, you know, have to recall 300,000 engines or whatever it is, because right now they've recall 200,000, and I got a sneaky suspicion that that might sometime this year be one that gets also recalled.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm just guessing I have no...
[SPEAKER_00]: insider knowledge to back that up, but if I were to do that, and I had to recall every single one of those twin turbo V6s, be they hybrid or not, I wouldn't do it all at once, because that would be a huge chunk of money to outlay and a huge chunk of work for all the dealers to do.
[SPEAKER_00]: So I'd be a little concerned.
[SPEAKER_00]: Like I said, I have no inside and out of this.
[SPEAKER_00]: This is just me kind of guessing at it.
[SPEAKER_00]: So if you're planning a buying one or if you want one, you know, take what I'm saying with a big grain of salt, but it might be something to think about.
[SPEAKER_00]: And the nice thing is the hour replacing the engine.
[SPEAKER_00]: So you might get a whole new engine.
[SPEAKER_01]: yeah so could go both ways they've stopped has another common here he's wondering if Ford should be making an expedition raptor to go up against the escalate v but i think i mean the raptor yes you could have a v8 you know supercharged v8 but they would start with a tremor with they do have a tremor already see they already have to start with a tremor so so
[SPEAKER_01]: I think the Raptor, it's an Alfred version, right?
[SPEAKER_01]: So if they really need a street, supercharged truck, like an expedition Lobo, that'd be...
[SPEAKER_01]: So the Lobo from the factory doesn't have any extra power.
[SPEAKER_01]: I think that's where Ford really kind of...
[SPEAKER_01]: didn't hit the mark.
[SPEAKER_01]: I know they have a supercharger.
[SPEAKER_01]: You could buy it to dealership, you know, with a fourth performance parts, but but I think it has to be from the factory.
[SPEAKER_00]: And this is a good place to transition to compact trucks.
[SPEAKER_00]: Let's start with the trucks.
[SPEAKER_00]: Let's start with the bottom.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_00]: So let's start with compact trucks.
[SPEAKER_00]: All right, because there's only two.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_00]: There's the Santa Cruz Santa Cruz Santa Cruz and there's the Maverick.
[SPEAKER_00]: So which I can tell you which one sold more without even looking at the numbers.
[SPEAKER_00]: But you don't, you have no idea how much total they sold.
[SPEAKER_00]: No, not, not, not until you do.
[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, so the Santa Cruz sold 32,033s.
[SPEAKER_01]: No, that's the previous year, oh, 25,500 ish.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's what they sold in 2025.
[SPEAKER_01]: And Maverick Dramoral 155,051 Mavericks were sold.
[SPEAKER_00]: This is 131,142, which is 18% improvement.
[SPEAKER_00]: sales of vehicles go down as the right if you're looking for a classic car chances are when you're looking for a classic car let's say you're looking for an FJ the FJ that you're going to find is a first year production which I believe is a 2014 maybe
[SPEAKER_00]: FJ Cruiser.
[SPEAKER_00]: I could be wrong about that.
[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe it's like 2,000.
[SPEAKER_00]: I could be wrong.
[SPEAKER_00]: What's the first year production on the FJ Cruiser?
[SPEAKER_00]: But you have to specify which FJ?
[SPEAKER_00]: Because when you say FJ, we don't say FJ, it could be FJ.
[SPEAKER_00]: I would say 14, 16 is the last year.
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm just I'm bad with numbers and injury, but every time you look at one, you will find that it's a 2007 because that's the first year production.
[SPEAKER_00]: So it's very surprising that the numbers actually have increased on the Ford Maverick, which means it's strong.
[SPEAKER_00]: Which means people want one, yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: And also it's been refreshed, right, because we bought the refreshed last year, because you couldn't get the hybrid in the hybrid model drive, yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: And I think the fact that it's also a hybrid and the Santa Cruz is not a hybrid.
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know why.
[SPEAKER_00]: Because while they have power train, it's available.
[SPEAKER_01]: They just haven't put it in the Santa Cruz.
[SPEAKER_01]: Exactly.
[SPEAKER_01]: So because the Maverick is both a little bit more affordable in some cases, and also have an efficient power train with their hybrid, I think for this winning and Roman, whereas Toyota, whereas General Motors, whereas Ram, whereas Jeep, whereas Honda, whereas Nissan, nobody else is building a compact truck.
[SPEAKER_01]: Where are they?
[SPEAKER_01]: Where's the stout?
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_01]: Toyota.
[SPEAKER_01]: Where are you?
[SPEAKER_01]: Akio Toyota.
[SPEAKER_01]: Where's the stout in America?
[SPEAKER_01]: In America.
[SPEAKER_01]: We're not talking about, you know, the rest of the world.
[SPEAKER_00]: Akio, bring the stout.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: Do you ask?
[SPEAKER_00]: You will do well.
[SPEAKER_00]: And the timing is everything, you know?
[SPEAKER_00]: If you wait too long, and if you come up with something, and the moment is gone, it's not going to do well.
[SPEAKER_00]: There's numerous examples of where manufacturers had done that, that because it takes a long time from conception to, I think GM is probably waited too long for a rapper fighter at this point.
[SPEAKER_00]: The rapter first rapter was available in 2010.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's to, at the moment, it's gone at this point, I think.
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, we'll see, they're updating the server order trucks.
[SPEAKER_01]: We'll talk about it.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, a little bit more.
[SPEAKER_01]: But I agree.
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, if you don't hit the timing, or you might be too late, you might be too early, but...
[SPEAKER_00]: But there's numerous examples of trucks that have become competitive, but the segment blew up and then the automaker figured it out and then built the vehicle and then by the time it actually hit the dealership it was too late.
[SPEAKER_01]: It can happen.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_01]: So, Maverick is a winner, best seller, Santa Cruz, unfortunately decreased in sales, so Santa Cruz is struggling pretty badly.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, are you ready for the mid-sizeers?
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, let's go for it.
[SPEAKER_01]: So this was a surprise to me when I first saw it.
[SPEAKER_01]: We note Tacoma is the best seller.
[SPEAKER_01]: We know this.
[SPEAKER_01]: But did you know that they had their best year ever in 2025 with 274,638 Tacomas sold.
[SPEAKER_01]: This is 192,824.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's a
[SPEAKER_00]: That's a boat ton of Tacoma's on drain.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's more than the boat ton.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's that's a lot of trucks.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's a lot of trucks.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I think that that is because Well first of all that the Tacoma was old so now it's new now it's new, but it took them a little while to get the machine rolling right it's it's interesting that They sold so many and yet when we read the comments in the videos every comment is I don't want a turbo
[SPEAKER_00]: And yet, they're on the street corner.
[SPEAKER_00]: Apparently 274,000 of you don't mind having a turbo.
[SPEAKER_00]: So maybe it's the case of the squeaky wheel gets to grease.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and the squeaky wheel in this case is all the guys and girls who were like, I don't want a turbo.
[SPEAKER_01]: And now everybody bought it.
[SPEAKER_01]: Now everybody's buying turbos.
[SPEAKER_01]: So in the mid-size segment, so General Motors is really in the second place and the Chevy Colorado sold 107,000, but look at that, that's less than half of what Tacoma sold.
[SPEAKER_01]: And when you combine Chevy Colorado and James Sikyanyan together, they're still
[SPEAKER_01]: like 130,000 vehicles behind Tacoma.
[SPEAKER_01]: So, and by the way, the canyon is decreasing.
[SPEAKER_01]: Look at this.
[SPEAKER_01]: So, the canyon is in last place, as far as all mid-sized trucks are concerned.
[SPEAKER_01]: And it's down by four and a half percent.
[SPEAKER_00]: So I went from 38,000 in 2024 to 36,000.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so I'm 27, 27, 25.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm wondering if that's because the canyon is a lot more expensive than the Colorado, but doesn't have a different power train.
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, they share the same engine, right?
[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm wondering if people are choosing more value and they're going to Colorado instead.
[SPEAKER_00]: This is probably just me.
[SPEAKER_00]: We have a canyon, 84x.
[SPEAKER_00]: I just love the look of the thing.
[SPEAKER_00]: I love the color.
[SPEAKER_00]: I love the interior.
[SPEAKER_00]: My only issue with it is I don't like the power train.
[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's fuzzy.
[SPEAKER_00]: It doesn't feel torquey.
[SPEAKER_00]: It just feels kind of like a lightweight power train for, you know, what should be a heavyweight power train and
[SPEAKER_00]: And I don't know what lightweight means, maybe it needs a six instead of a four cylinder, but it just feels like it's a little too, not significant enough for a truck that I love so much.
[SPEAKER_01]: Agreed.
[SPEAKER_01]: Plus, the one we bought is like 57,000, right?
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and we came from the Ranger after which had a six cylinder, so it's always hard to go from a six to a four.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: And there's something about a four that just the way that it puts out power is always going to be a little, um, a little light weighty, you know, it's going to be a little like buzzy, a little harsh, not pleasing.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: And that's probably, it's funny.
[SPEAKER_00]: I would say that's the problem with all the two to four cylinders.
[SPEAKER_00]: They're just a little harsh.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but the peninsula doesn't matter.
[SPEAKER_00]: Apparently not, you guys think that has to do with the Toyota's reputation for reliability, which is well-earned.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_00]: But I also kind of feel like that reputation was earned on the back of like the 2002 Honda 4-liter V6's.
[SPEAKER_00]: No, I think it was earned on the back of the 2002 to a camera on the old V8, the 5.0, and I always get this wrong, is the 5.0, and 6.7, and I get it wrong, and I think there is, I'm seeing a little bit more cost cutting in two to two nowadays, and I think I'm not off by saying that all of that, two or a thousand, you know,
[SPEAKER_00]: replacement engines replaced but into yeah which I'm sure it's costing the company billions so I think when they were first coming to America the way they established their reputation was by building high quality long lasting reliable right the small base course yeah and people said if you know especially at a time when the American versions of those cars were pretty crappy
[SPEAKER_00]: My dad had an LTD, believe me.
[SPEAKER_00]: There's not a lot of those left, Andre.
[SPEAKER_00]: There was a car called the citation.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, God, what?
[SPEAKER_00]: What is, why?
[SPEAKER_01]: Why would you buy a citation?
[SPEAKER_00]: Billed in Jamesville, Wisconsin, where I used to live.
[SPEAKER_00]: Wow.
[SPEAKER_00]: When I was a TV reporter, I'm very familiar with the citation.
[SPEAKER_00]: And then they also built suburbans.
[SPEAKER_00]: And anyway,
[SPEAKER_00]: The Japanese specifically came in with this very clever plan.
[SPEAKER_00]: They looked not five years ahead, but you know, fifty years ahead, and the plan was we're going to build high quality reliable, long lasting vehicles, and I think they're living off that.
[SPEAKER_00]: And I think at some point over the last ten years, they have kind of switched to becoming more, let's call it, let's say publicly traded profit.
[SPEAKER_00]: Profit oriented, yeah, more quantity than necessarily, it's hard to keep that kind of quality up when you're building 274,000 Tacomas.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: And so it's not quite where it used to be, but they're still doing very well.
[SPEAKER_00]: So Kudos to you, Toyota.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and time will tell, I mean, I know it's a cliche, but you know, when we look back two to three to four years from now, we're gonna look back at some of these trucks and see, see what's happening.
[SPEAKER_00]: So let me ask you a question, before we get to the number on the forward range, your has the forward range, your cannibalized sales of the F-150.
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think so.
[SPEAKER_01]: And that's the excuse to forgave when they got rid of it exactly and I think that was a mistake because 25 years ago the fourth Ranger was the best selling small truck in the country and you got rid of it and then you had to bring it back and now you know it's clinging on to third place.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's really clinging on at 71, approximately 71,000 Rangers were sold.
[SPEAKER_01]: But by the way, due to that, it was a big improvement from where it was in 24, because they had, for some reason, struggled building Rangers, right?
[SPEAKER_01]: The Rangers currently built at the same factory as the Ford Bronco, the Ford or the Big Broncos, and something was going on there were not building a lot of Rangers, and there are now building more and they're selling more.
[SPEAKER_00]: Let me ask you this question, Andre, from a truck point of view, maybe from a truck point of view or an SUV point of view.
[SPEAKER_00]: So I was just in this podcast this week, it's a British podcast, it's called the Intercooler and they did a story about what's happening with Ford.
[SPEAKER_00]: In the UK, Ford now has four vehicles, four vehicles that are bad engineered.
[SPEAKER_00]: So, once upon a time in the UK, Ford was almost as American or as British as bangers and mash.
[SPEAKER_00]: Exactly.
[SPEAKER_00]: Somehow that company became ingrained into the British culture in more than just a way that a non-domestic car company could.
[SPEAKER_00]: It became almost like it's their own, it's not an American company, but it's a British car company, like you said, bangers and mash.
[SPEAKER_00]: There was also like the World Rally cars and British people really gravitated for the one, you know, I mean, they did really well, but now they're selling four cars in the UK or in Europe that are bad engineers, so they're selling two that are ID buses.
[SPEAKER_00]: I want to say the Puma or the Britsake Puma.
[SPEAKER_00]: And I want to say the explorer, I think that's also an ID buzz underneath, and then there are two that are renews.
[SPEAKER_00]: I think I bring it back to Fiesta or the focus and one more, both all electric.
[SPEAKER_00]: But the point that the spotcast was making is why are you not only bad-gencing these cars, but why are you paying your competitors to build your cars, which is what they're doing.
[SPEAKER_00]: And then the bigger point they made is that at least in the U.K. Ford no longer has cars really for the cheapest, I guess they said Ford and the U.K. And they used to build the super inexpensive affordable cars, like the Fiestas, right?
[SPEAKER_00]: This is Mandale, it was, and more.
[SPEAKER_00]: But the cheapest Ford you can buy in the U.K. now is 26,000 pounds.
[SPEAKER_00]: Which I think translates to close to like 28,29,000 USD.
[SPEAKER_00]: And they're saying that the Ford is kind of giving up on the middle, right?
[SPEAKER_00]: They have the GTD, they have these expensive vehicles, maybe raptors.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and then they don't have anything that kind of lives, you know, where most people are, which is weird because they said one of the things Ford was able to do, and very few car companies are able to do this, is they could sell everything from a Fiesta to a GTD, which is a big, you know, that's a big chance of huge gap.
[SPEAKER_00]: If you're selling to, right?
[SPEAKER_00]: You're selling to the ultra wealthy.
[SPEAKER_00]: because the GTD realistically starts at 400,000 and yet you're also selling to the $20,000 or they had a three cylinder, they had that little three cylinder fiesta with the, we owned one.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, with 100 horsepower, but that's great.
[SPEAKER_00]: Now we had the fiesta ST, there was little three cylinders, not the sporty one, they had the 100 or the basic one, the base one, yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: And I wonder if that's kind of happening in America too, if they've kind of going up on the middle.
[SPEAKER_01]: So I can answer the question why is the some of their lecture cars built by VW?
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: I can answer that question because for then VW made a deal a couple of years back where VW said we need to pick up truck and Ford said we'll build you an MRI based on the ranger and VW said okay thank you and Ford said how about you build as a couple of electric cars?
[SPEAKER_01]: So it kind of was a trade.
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know why Ford is working with Renault or somebody else, I can't explain that, but there's something going on there.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's a good explanation.
[SPEAKER_01]: Which kind of makes sense because Ford really knows pickup trucks and VW at the time, well, it was working on a lot of things.
[SPEAKER_00]: The sales are still selling.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, America Ford left that.
[SPEAKER_00]: They left it a long time ago.
[SPEAKER_00]: They've become either SUV or truck company.
[SPEAKER_00]: But outside of the F-150, which of course, you can't just put that aside, right?
[SPEAKER_00]: They sell, we'll get to that in a second, but they sell hundreds of thousands of those.
[SPEAKER_00]: Almost, you know, we're approaching like a million a year now, it's kind of crazy.
[SPEAKER_00]: But what, you know, what is in that middle segment that Ford sells here?
[SPEAKER_00]: It's not crazy expensive, right?
[SPEAKER_00]: They got rid of the edge.
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, they got really the bruncus port the bruncus port.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's the port.
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, it's a little bit more affordable than than some But but they used to do like this cape is not doing well.
[SPEAKER_00]: Please.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, they yeah, the scape is going they used to do the Maverick at 19 which gone now.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's 27.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah They did the lightning at 39 and then it went up to well it's discontinued up to 70 something and then it's gone Anyway, let's let's lead that for the folks at the intercooler to debate
[SPEAKER_00]: Let's keep going.
[SPEAKER_01]: There is a comment or a couple comments from nothing to see here, so thank you for joining as well.
[SPEAKER_01]: So one comment is the Canyon 84X, they really wanted, but it's too expensive.
[SPEAKER_01]: 57.
[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, that's a fair comment.
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, you do get triple lockers, right?
[SPEAKER_01]: So you do have a lot of affordable capability.
[SPEAKER_01]: And also, it says, we always see this, you know, people complain about price, but the trucks that are left over dealer lots are always base models.
[SPEAKER_01]: So either dealers are really good at the app selling, or people just want the base.
[SPEAKER_01]: People just don't want a basic truck, they want a heated seat, they want, this is fleetsales.
[SPEAKER_01]: They want more stuff in their vehicles.
[SPEAKER_00]: We're running out of time, we're going to go back to the...
[SPEAKER_00]: Let's go for two hours today.
[SPEAKER_00]: OK, I look at the numbers.
[SPEAKER_00]: We can't because we can't do the car podcast.
[SPEAKER_00]: Next, let's keep going, Cole.
[SPEAKER_00]: So we're at the Ranger, which we're selling at, how many units is it?
[SPEAKER_00]: 71,000.
[SPEAKER_00]: I am, and then next to the center.
[SPEAKER_01]: So in here, so far, everybody's been up until the frontier.
[SPEAKER_01]: Frontier was down year over year to 65,000.
[SPEAKER_01]: So they're in fourth place.
[SPEAKER_01]: So the down 4.3, whereas Ranger is up 56%, 53%.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: So, frontier, maybe it's aging a little bit, you know, I know they gave it a new grill.
[SPEAKER_01]: You drove the new R version of the frontier of this appointing.
[SPEAKER_01]: They didn't give it a new more power.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's Rosh, that's what they do for Ford.
[SPEAKER_00]: They give things, terminals and superchargers, and they didn't do any of that for the frontier.
[SPEAKER_01]: Now something is interesting is happening with the gladiator, right?
[SPEAKER_01]: We talked about previously that the gladiator was losing sales, they were struggling,
[SPEAKER_00]: They were 35% at, yes, 56,790 units.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_01]: So I think what happened was, maybe a lot more incentives came in on the street.
[SPEAKER_01]: They got too expensive.
[SPEAKER_01]: They got too expensive.
[SPEAKER_00]: I remember I drove the Mojago a couple of years ago with these two jeeps of fire.
[SPEAKER_00]: It was 74,000.
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, please don't say that.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, that's a lot.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's a lot.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_00]: And it's missing a locker.
[SPEAKER_01]: I know.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: So that made no sense.
[SPEAKER_01]: So I think they made it more make more sense.
[SPEAKER_01]: They're selling a lot more jeeps.
[SPEAKER_01]: Honda is still doing really well.
[SPEAKER_01]: Look at this.
[SPEAKER_01]: 48,000 ridge lines were sold.
[SPEAKER_01]: So they're still up up about 6%.
[SPEAKER_00]: We could break the news here.
[SPEAKER_00]: We're getting a long-term ridge line.
[SPEAKER_00]: We're replacing our long-term passport.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, trail sport with a ridge line trail sport.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's coming next week.
[SPEAKER_00]: Andre, wait, already next week?
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, Tommy and the case are driving.
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, actually they're throwing a back from California.
[SPEAKER_00]: So we're going to have a ridge line for three months.
[SPEAKER_00]: I can't wait.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm super excited.
[SPEAKER_00]: And we just bought one.
[SPEAKER_00]: So we have an old one first gen and we have a new one.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so that's going to be a huge comparison.
[SPEAKER_01]: I can't wait for that.
[SPEAKER_01]: By the way, the reason why they're towing is not because anything is wrong, it's because we're delivering a vehicle there on a trailer.
[SPEAKER_01]: So when you do bring it back.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, we're bringing it back.
[SPEAKER_00]: This is a talent for a year.
[SPEAKER_00]: So we're bringing back the talent.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's a side by side in case you're unfamiliar with it.
[SPEAKER_00]: So we're bringing that back and we're taking the occasion to bring back originally.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, but Roman the big news here as we wrap up this section is that let's ask the Patreon's a question What all right?
[SPEAKER_00]: We've been pondering and said the office guys, so this is a question And we'll get to the answers.
[SPEAKER_00]: So you know every every buy new trucks and then sell new trucks in this year You know we're gonna buy new trucks and sell new trucks.
[SPEAKER_00]: So we've got basically three trucks There will probably be selling this year
[SPEAKER_00]: So the Ari Canyon AT4X is going to go, and I'm thinking about buying that from the company because I love that truck so much.
[SPEAKER_00]: Our Ford F-50 tremors are going to go, and probably G-G is going to go with our big old military territory.
[SPEAKER_00]: We're kind of done with them, unfortunately, but that's how the YouTube world works.
[SPEAKER_00]: And so people in the office are excited either by the TRX, the new.
[SPEAKER_00]: old TRX with 770 horsepower or the new diesel power wagon.
[SPEAKER_00]: So the question is should we trade any of those in either a new old TRX or a power wagon with the diesel?
[SPEAKER_00]: Which would you guys prefer us to have for review?
[SPEAKER_00]: or wait for something else.
[SPEAKER_01]: RAM, RAM, RAM, RAM, RAM, RAM, RAM you extended electric truck, or on the flip side, Joel Motors is supposed to be refreshing their entire silver outer lineup.
[SPEAKER_01]: So, we still don't know what's happening without it.
[SPEAKER_00]: So, if you're listening to this or watching and listen to the comments below, what's next?
[SPEAKER_00]: Or if you're alive with us, let us know now so that we know which you'd prefer, would you rather see the RAM?
[SPEAKER_01]: TRX or the power wagon price just voted in here in the live chat for the power wagon nothing to see here votes for the power wagon So so far people are voting for the power wagon, please one two people two power wagon power wagon don't care I'm trying we can have some t-shirts.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's right.
[SPEAKER_00]: All right.
[SPEAKER_00]: Let's go to full size.
[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, but before we do yeah, I'm going to make a point Go back to midsize, okay
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, they've said when you their e-reve.
[SPEAKER_01]: Anapar.
[SPEAKER_01]: Anapar.
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, if we sell three trucks, we might be able to swing.
[SPEAKER_01]: We might be able to swing.
[SPEAKER_01]: We might be able for the third year.
[SPEAKER_01]: We might be able to swing.
[SPEAKER_01]: We might be able to swing.
[SPEAKER_00]: We might be able to swing.
[SPEAKER_00]: We might be able to swing.
[SPEAKER_01]: We might be able to swing.
[SPEAKER_01]: We might be able to swing.
[SPEAKER_01]: We might be able to swing.
[SPEAKER_01]: We might be able to swing.
[SPEAKER_01]: We might be able to swing.
[SPEAKER_01]: We might be able to swing.
[SPEAKER_01]: We might be able to swing.
[SPEAKER_01]: We might be able to swing.
[SPEAKER_01]: We might be able to swing.
[SPEAKER_01]: We might be able to swing.
[SPEAKER_01]: We might be able to swing.
[SPEAKER_01]: We might be able to swing.
[SPEAKER_01]: We might be able to swing.
[SPEAKER_01]: We might be able to swing
[SPEAKER_01]: Or less expensive me less expensive.
[SPEAKER_01]: It could be because the cheap dude.
[SPEAKER_01]: I can't park my tundra in my garage at home That's the tundra is too big.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's why people buy smaller vehicles as well Okay, let's move on to full size because fourth and general motors You know you are in a big fight.
[SPEAKER_01]: You know what you're wife would love.
[SPEAKER_01]: I have an ever suggestion for you.
[SPEAKER_00]: What you sell the You sell just kind of I want to sell my tundra
[SPEAKER_00]: And then you buy the, the, the, the, the red line that definitely is about the 2008, we're $2,998,000 on an Android.
[SPEAKER_00]: That thing's a peach, you know what I drove with yesterday.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: And I fell in love with the, I'm having a case bringing it down from the ranch.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to be dealing it now.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's a peach.
[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, I put it so this is a preview.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I put that ridge line on a left.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and I crawled or over every inch of it.
[SPEAKER_01]: What's it looks like underneath?
[SPEAKER_01]: Really nice.
[SPEAKER_00]: Is it?
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so I'll be love that thing.
[SPEAKER_00]: And you found out that actually somebody changed the timing belt.
[SPEAKER_00]: The timing belt was changed to
[SPEAKER_01]: 20,000 miles.
[SPEAKER_00]: Like, who?
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: Because it's back to us.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: So, you know, Honda used to build.
[SPEAKER_01]: We talked about the yesterday year, Honda built some really nice reliable stuff.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: You gotta be quick, because Tommy's dying it up to.
[SPEAKER_01]: But run it unfortunately.
[SPEAKER_01]: I need to throw a 6,000 pound boat.
[SPEAKER_01]: We only toast 5,000.
[SPEAKER_01]: So that's not quite working.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, true.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's it.
[SPEAKER_01]: So I'll talk to my wife about this.
[SPEAKER_01]: Get a smaller boat.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, why?
[SPEAKER_01]: Why is my boat so heavy?
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yes, but that's really our first world problem.
[SPEAKER_00]: Can you, can you water ski behind the jet ski?
[SPEAKER_00]: Technically, yes, I've never seen it happen though.
[SPEAKER_00]: People do it.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_00]: Really?
[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's an issue because you know when you make slalom, you know when you make a zigzag with your skis.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: You can actually pull the jet ski to the side because it's so small.
[SPEAKER_00]: So it's like the tail wagging the dog.
[SPEAKER_01]: Literally tail wagging you.
[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_01]: Literally.
[SPEAKER_01]: All right, let's let's see the number one selling truck in America is well, how do you want to work it because do you want to work?
[SPEAKER_01]: Combined general motors together mine them yes combine because a lot of you are said don't combine them But I say combine them.
[SPEAKER_01]: Why why wouldn't you combine them?
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, because it's owned by one company, somebody said that a person who buys a Sierra is not the same person who buys a Silverado.
[SPEAKER_01]: The money goes the same place, I thought it goes to GM.
[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, so when combined GMC and Chevy, they are still number one, if you combine them, 936,000, I'll tell you why you combine them.
[SPEAKER_00]: Because Ford combines all the F-series and the person that buys an F-150 is certainly not the same person that buys an F-150.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, do we?
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, no, no, yeah, so if Ford's combining it, let GM combine it.
[SPEAKER_00]: But good for the Goose Andre is good for the game.
[SPEAKER_00]: What's good for Ford is good for GM.
[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, so in this calculation, so GM combined is still number one by a huge margin, actually.
[SPEAKER_01]: Ford F-C series is in second place.
[SPEAKER_01]: Also growing year over year 828,000 trucks Fort Seoul.
[SPEAKER_00]: So GM went up 7.1% Ford went up 8.3% year over year It's something happened to Ford F series in the fourth quarter of last year down three.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's the lightning Actually, it might be a lot of it.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's now 3.1%.
[SPEAKER_00]: It could be lightning because lightning yes, yes, because they were selling what like 25,000 a year or something
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, well, the lightning went down 6,000 units last quarter, and that's probably what it went down to, so you nailed it.
[SPEAKER_01]: So lightning, but, but why not growing the other F-150 needs to grow super dear anyways.
[SPEAKER_00]: And for all you Chevy and RAM fans, let's break those out.
[SPEAKER_00]: So the Silverado 580,000 in 2025 versus 549 up 5.5% and the RAM, 1500, up 6.9% from 374 to 373.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's not 6.9% because you're looking in their own column.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's up 0.3.
[SPEAKER_01]: So, so RAM struggled a lot.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, when everybody else was up at least.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so I think I know what's happening here.
[SPEAKER_01]: What's happening?
[SPEAKER_01]: It's the same Jeep problem.
[SPEAKER_01]: Remember, RAMs were overpriced.
[SPEAKER_01]: Their heavy duty trucks were out of reach for most people.
[SPEAKER_01]: Just crazy prices on a lot of their trucks.
[SPEAKER_01]: And now they're making it more in line.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's why in 4th quarter they grew.
[SPEAKER_01]: So, in plus the TRX coming back, there's more excitement.
[SPEAKER_01]: The Hemmy is back, the 5th 7.
[SPEAKER_01]: on.
[SPEAKER_00]: All right, and then Sierra, let's break it down.
[SPEAKER_01]: Just below Ram, actually, uh, 356,000.
[SPEAKER_01]: So Sierra grew 9.7% from 324, yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: And then, uh, Toyota coming.
[SPEAKER_01]: down, down, down.
[SPEAKER_00]: 12.7.
[SPEAKER_00]: So, Tundra is down.
[SPEAKER_00]: They sold a lot.
[SPEAKER_00]: So, so maybe the engine replacements did have a impact on Tundra sales because Tacoma is through the roof and yet Tundra is down.
[SPEAKER_00]: I could be styling.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not sure I'm in love with the styling of the Tundra.
[SPEAKER_01]: But, but, but styling.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, it's a consideration, but I don't know if it's a number one consideration.
[SPEAKER_00]: But when I talk to people, that's what I hear.
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, that's what Michael told me.
[SPEAKER_01]: He said, I don't like to look of the exhibition.
[SPEAKER_00]: I should keep talking about this.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, well, they don't like to look of the Tundra.
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't mind it, but I'm wondering if that could play a role.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm just, that's just anecdotal.
[SPEAKER_00]: What I'm hearing from people.
[SPEAKER_00]: By the way, I got stopped flying back yesterday from the airport at TSA, and the guy recognized me, and he said he was a huge fan.
[SPEAKER_00]: And I said, what do he drive?
[SPEAKER_00]: He said he drives a,
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, was it gosh darn it I think it was a no is a for it.
[SPEAKER_00]: It was a super duty a for 50.
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh my gosh.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah single real So like 350 single maybe it was a 350 yeah because I don't make a for 50 single yeah That'd be a that'd be a that'd be a duly so I think it was and I said I said well, what do you tell with that and he said he doesn't tell anything He said he used to tell a camper and now he doesn't tell anything that's a big truck
[SPEAKER_00]: people do that people do that yeah people daily humongous vehicles I think a lot more people that you know when people said that the reason I bring that up is people said that that's not the same buyer and if you don't think that like the same buyer is the guy who you know buys an F 150 versus the guy or gal who buys a 250 or 350 or 450 you might be mistaken
[SPEAKER_00]: I think people like actually graduate up from an F-150 to a 250 or a 350 or a 450.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's actually, they might graduate down when they age out because I hear that a lot too and people get older, they have had like, you know, a little bit.
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, you have to climb up into a track and a lot of older people don't want to climb up.
[SPEAKER_00]: But I don't think that, I think that is the same buyer.
[SPEAKER_00]: This guy is just dailying a 350.
[SPEAKER_00]: Was this in Denver?
[SPEAKER_00]: This was in, no, this was in Fort Myers.
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, in Florida.
[SPEAKER_00]: Well,
[SPEAKER_00]: They don't have any turns there.
[SPEAKER_00]: It doesn't matter.
[SPEAKER_00]: It just goes straight.
[SPEAKER_01]: But also in Colorado we don't have on the eastern plains.
[SPEAKER_01]: We don't have any.
[SPEAKER_00]: I shouldn't turn.
[SPEAKER_00]: They have turns.
[SPEAKER_00]: They have 90 degree turns.
[SPEAKER_00]: So they have no curves.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's just straight 90 degree turn straight 90 degree turn straight.
[SPEAKER_00]: I understood what your man.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_01]: Because it's big places.
[SPEAKER_01]: You want to have a big vehicle to take you long distance.
[SPEAKER_00]: All right, and there's your lightning is next down 18%.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and it's down even more in the fourth quarter.
[SPEAKER_01]: So the lightning was, and it's now discontinued until we wait for the next one.
[SPEAKER_01]: Cybertruck is down 56% according to some data.
[SPEAKER_01]: This is based on some of the AI searching that I did.
[SPEAKER_01]: Hammer EV on the other hand is up, Roman.
[SPEAKER_01]: So GM is still doing pretty well with their electric trucks, even though they're not selling a lot of numbers.
[SPEAKER_01]: They're growing in their numbers and then it was up 12.8% and they sold SUVs and trucks EV 15,788 And the Titan is down 86% Well the Titan?
[SPEAKER_01]: You don't build any more.
[SPEAKER_01]: I know.
[SPEAKER_01]: So they discontinued the Titan more than a year ago.
[SPEAKER_00]: They still sold the Titans?
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, they sold what?
[SPEAKER_00]: How many?
[SPEAKER_00]: 2,000 of them?
[SPEAKER_00]: 2,000 last year was sold.
[SPEAKER_00]: They're still sitting around in lots?
[SPEAKER_00]: They were sitting around.
[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, all right, and then it's interesting you to Silverado EV, which I think is like the most useful of all the EV trucks because it's got the biggest battery Everybody's complaining about the fact that trucks don't have enough range.
[SPEAKER_00]: I had it out of it.
[SPEAKER_00]: They don't tow far enough and yet the Silverado does and yet it's way way at the bottom here
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but it's still growing sales, but they did only sell 11,000 Slover other EVs and almost 8,000 CR EVs.
[SPEAKER_01]: So they're still there.
[SPEAKER_01]: They're no news from GMM.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's about 51%.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, they're still growing their sales.
[SPEAKER_01]: So all together, the full size market sold 2.3 million both have done and heavy duty full size trucks, which is a lot of vehicle.
[SPEAKER_00]: So it's more than one out of 10, maybe like 1.8 out of 10 vehicles sold in a, no, sorry.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, one out of eight, no, one out of 10 is a truck in America, because we sold what 60 million units or so.
[SPEAKER_01]: And this is, yeah, this has one eight of that.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so, yeah, one out of eight are trucks.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, which is a big, big chunk.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I'm sure if you go to Europe, it'd be like, you know, it'd be less than a single
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, there's not a lot of big pickup trucks, a lot of them are small.
[SPEAKER_00]: All right, they're markets.
[SPEAKER_00]: And the last category do we have HD trucks?
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, this was part of this.
[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, that's right.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, this was rolled in.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: So we can't break out HD.
[SPEAKER_01]: Not easily.
[SPEAKER_01]: So GM and RAM started breaking out HDs, but Ford doesn't.
[SPEAKER_01]: Ford publishes data.
[SPEAKER_00]: They're sneaky.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, they're sneaky, Andre.
[SPEAKER_01]: Ford publishes how many they built, not how many they sell.
[SPEAKER_01]: So this is a whole different story.
[SPEAKER_00]: And you can't, you can't, that's useless.
[SPEAKER_01]: No, because they can build a truck today, but it'll be sold three months from now.
[SPEAKER_00]: Or like two years, or two years from now, you're talking about a tie.
[SPEAKER_00]: So, those times were built like two years ago.
[SPEAKER_00]: I know, I know that.
[SPEAKER_00]: I know, yes.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_00]: Or do you have to discount it?
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm sure you think I'm sure you think I could you go grab a like a titan because it's a good truck actually It's just it's like the thing about Nissan's and I hate to say there's solid trucks no no But there's no problem with in terms of slidity, but they're always like a generation behind Like the like the frontier fun tears like one generation behind the Titan was one generation behind They're always playing catch up.
[SPEAKER_00]: They never like on generation or beyond that.
[SPEAKER_00]: They're always kind of back one And you know that because the frontier has the six cylinder whereas everybody else has gone to a
[SPEAKER_00]: Forcelander turbo and you would think that everybody wants six cylinders at the Titan would be not the Titan.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, the Titan is a V8 is a V8 and they could have brought us six.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but no, my point was that with everybody says they want they don't want the Forcelander and yet the frontier is down in the mid-sized category and it doesn't have a Forcelander.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's a headscratcher.
[SPEAKER_01]: It is a headscratcher.
[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe it's it is aging.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's why we look at the comments.
[SPEAKER_00]: See if anybody else voted for either TRX or a power wagon.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, let's see what people have to say.
[SPEAKER_00]: And the people say, okay, powerwagon.
[SPEAKER_01]: Powerwagon with the diesels as TAD said.
[SPEAKER_01]: Let's see, who else, oh, Dave said powerwagon.
[SPEAKER_01]: Anything else done?
[SPEAKER_01]: I kind of, we've been on the train's next track should be in F250.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's what done says.
[SPEAKER_00]: You don't want to, you don't want to, big, big, big, big, big truck do you want?
[SPEAKER_00]: You want a smaller truck.
[SPEAKER_00]: You want a smaller truck.
[SPEAKER_00]: I want an affordable truck.
[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, more than a big tritmo.
[SPEAKER_01]: Hey!

[SPEAKER_00]: Ha!
[SPEAKER_00]: Ha!
[SPEAKER_00]: Ha!
[SPEAKER_00]: Ha!
[SPEAKER_00]: Ha
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's really useful.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's got a decent net.
[SPEAKER_01]: What would you like about it when you drove it?
[SPEAKER_01]: So, I liked, actually, I expected this steering to be loose and suspension to bang.
[SPEAKER_00]: So, it's actually solid.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's keeping my eyes, we bought this at our donated car auction.
[SPEAKER_00]: So, we kind of bought it site unseen, basically.
[SPEAKER_00]: And I was just kind of scaring.
[SPEAKER_00]: And you don't get to drive it.
[SPEAKER_00]: And the only thing you know is, are there any lights on?
[SPEAKER_00]: It doesn't run.
[SPEAKER_00]: You could start the engine.
[SPEAKER_00]: You could start the engine, but you don't know anything else.
[SPEAKER_00]: And so, we paid,
[SPEAKER_00]: Just over 4,304, 2008, Ridgeline with $195,000.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, $195.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, which is a great deal, apparently, because a lot of people are saying it's crazy.
[SPEAKER_00]: And so I think that's one of those trucks that came out just a little too early, right?
[SPEAKER_00]: The rub on that truck is it's the truck everybody wants, everybody needs, but nobody wants.
[SPEAKER_00]: Even though 36,000 people, if I remember right, did buy it.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: So there's a few comments here as we wrap up.
[SPEAKER_01]: First of all, people are saying that PowerWagon is getting a lot of votes.
[SPEAKER_01]: First of all, and then they said they enjoyed watching our previous PowerWagon videos.
[SPEAKER_01]: Somebody wants to pre-order a PowerWagon T-shirt.
[SPEAKER_01]: Power again don't care.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, actually we had that T-shirt years ago.
[SPEAKER_00]: We should bring it back.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, so we have a design.
[SPEAKER_01]: T-File classic T-File classic T-shirt.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah And there's a common here about the Hummer EV the only reason the Hummer EV number went up is because GM dealerships are giving them away.
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, oh, he's friend got 25,000 off on the brand new Wow
[SPEAKER_01]: That's a huge chunk of change.
[SPEAKER_00]: Real things were selling when they were new for like 50,000 over sticker.
[SPEAKER_00]: They were like 170,000.
[SPEAKER_00]: I know when they first came out.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_00]: So your friend, let's say it's 125, let's just fry it up.
[SPEAKER_00]: So you gotta for just around 100.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's still a lot, dude.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's a lot of mining on my reward.
[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, there could be a lot of incentives on them.
[SPEAKER_01]: I also heard the opposite.
[SPEAKER_01]: Somebody recently traded in a Hummer EV.
[SPEAKER_01]: and lost a lot of money obviously because of some of these incentives are driving the used price down on them.
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I think we have wasted another hour of your time.
[SPEAKER_00]: What?
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, this was fun.
[SPEAKER_00]: Why is it fun?
[SPEAKER_00]: OK, good.
[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, fun.
[SPEAKER_01]: Cole, did you have fun or producer Cole?
[SPEAKER_00]: Cole is giving us a call.
[SPEAKER_01]: Cole said two thumbs up.
[SPEAKER_00]: And we got to take a little bit of a break before we go to the Carpardcast.
[SPEAKER_00]: And we're trying something new over at the Carpard cast.
[SPEAKER_00]: And this is just a proof of concept.
[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to have our patrons be able to call in.
[SPEAKER_00]: What?
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: They're going to be able to call in and actually talk to us directly and ask us questions.
[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, just randomly, just this, this may be a complete and other shambles on trade.
[SPEAKER_00]: All right, something is not going to be a complete and other shambles.
[SPEAKER_00]: No, we have amazing people listening to this.
[SPEAKER_00]: So if you come back in 35 minutes, we're going to do our very first and it's me and Andre, because, uh, Tommy in case they're working in the snow.
[SPEAKER_00]: We've got snow and so whenever there's snow, we just go out there and go off road because that's what you do in the snow, that's fun.
[SPEAKER_00]: So we're going to try to do a call and show where we're going to have you calling and ask us questions directly if you want, if you want to have a nice chat with us and we'll try to answer your questions because I know listening to the other podcast, the thing that's very popular is people asking questions.
[SPEAKER_00]: But the problem is whenever you type the question, you never get the nuance of what people are at a full context or the full.
[SPEAKER_00]: Because there's all these questions that you want to follow up with.
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I'm looking for a truck that's $35,000 and I need it to tow 5,000 pounds and then it has to be yellow.
[SPEAKER_00]: And then you're like, okay, then you're like, but do you need room for your family, you know, two doors or four doors?
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, how much pay below do you need?
[SPEAKER_00]: So this will give people the option to actually have a conversation.
[SPEAKER_00]: and hopefully give you answers from our vast amount of trucking experience on drain or carring experience.
[SPEAKER_00]: In this case your carring experience yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: I drove them as ready for a week.
[SPEAKER_00]: We can talk about that.
[SPEAKER_00]: I want to hear about that.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, but not now.
[SPEAKER_00]: No, no, not now.
[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_00]: All right.
[SPEAKER_00]: And Andre, where should they go?
[SPEAKER_00]: If they want more news views and real world reviews.
[SPEAKER_01]: There's only one place, altfl.com.
[SPEAKER_01]: See you next time, ciao.
