00:00:01 Speaker 1: Hey, everyone, welcome back to bet Your Happy Hour. I'm Joe and I'm Serena, and we are here with you guys one last time. 00:00:09 Speaker 2: How that sounds sounded great? 00:00:11 Speaker 1: Did we get the SoundBite out of that? 00:00:13 Speaker 2: I think so sounded crazy to hear you say that. 00:00:15 Speaker 1: I know for all our listeners. We're kicking off twenty twenty six saying see you guys later. 00:00:21 Speaker 2: We're leaving see you soon, sayonara. 00:00:24 Speaker 1: See it's been it's been a while, but we've decided to stop doing Happy Hour as the host, and we're going to intro the new host pretty soon, pretty soon. 00:00:36 Speaker 2: Yeah, hold your horses, you're not done with us quite yet. Yeah, we got a few few more minutes of this episode to milk. But it's been a crazy two and a half years on Bauchler Happy Hour. Joe and I are obviously married. We've been working together and it's been a great ride. 00:00:52 Speaker 1: We were married when we started this podcast, obviously were where. 00:00:57 Speaker 2: We no, no, yes, I can't keep track. 00:01:01 Speaker 1: But when I started the Bachelor Nation podcast, which the first one was Clickbait, we didn't know each other. We didn't Joe, I was twenty twenty. 00:01:10 Speaker 2: Yeah, and I was in Quarantine to go on The Bachelor. That's how long ago it was. Quarantine was still like an active part of our lives. 00:01:19 Speaker 1: Okay, correction, we weren't married when we started this podcast, but we are married. 00:01:23 Speaker 2: Our producer just jumped in and was like, no, guys, you weren't married yet solely engaged. So since being on this podcast, we got married. We had a wedding, two two weddings basically, yeah, and so many other amazing memories together. 00:01:36 Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, what man, Yeah, we're not going to be doing Taylor freaky pol season. What was your favorite season? 00:01:43 Speaker 2: My favorite season to reclap to recap that we covered? 00:01:46 Speaker 1: Do you have? 00:01:49 Speaker 2: I mean, this past season of Paradise was fun just because it's nostalgic and they did try so many new things with it that it was fun to kind of break down and give our opinions on what was working, what wasn't working, who we're rooting for, what we liked, all the things? What about you? 00:02:04 Speaker 1: Oh? My least favorite was probably Charities. I did not enjoy. I did not enjoy that season about all joke and I actually I have probably Charities I did enjoy her season. 00:02:14 Speaker 2: Well, I think that that's a great way to tee up what's next, which is, you know, as much as this is sad, we're saying goodbye to you guys. This feels so right for Joe and I to part ways with this chapter of our lives, and we're excited for whatever comes next. But we know what comes next on this podcast, and that is two new hosts that we are going to announce today and we are beyond excited to be passing the torches off to them. 00:02:40 Speaker 1: Yes, so everyone, please welcome your new hosts of Battery Happy Hour, Charity and Rachel. 00:02:49 Speaker 2: Hello. 00:02:52 Speaker 1: I'm like, everybody welcome, but you know there's only us on this podcast. 00:02:58 Speaker 2: Hi, guys, excited, Hi, thank you guys. 00:03:03 Speaker 3: We are splendid, spectacular truly. 00:03:07 Speaker 2: Okay, So we have not chatted with you guys prior to like basically this moment, So walk us through. We've known for a bit that we were parting ways. But tell us about when you guys found out you were gonna be hosting the podcast. When they approached you, what did you think? 00:03:25 Speaker 3: I mean? I'll start off, I just remember like being approached and asking to do a little mock interview with Rachel, and I was like, oh, I'm so ready for this because I was like, Rachel's my girl. We obviously have like a friendship outside of this show, but like to be doing podcasting and hosting together incredible. So I was definitely excited. I obviously did not know how it was gonna go, but because like I said, we already had this built in like friendship and just like already like off the rip banter, I was like, I'm fine, We're gonna be great. 00:03:57 Speaker 4: No, I'm so excited. And I was actually shocked because for a little bit I thought I was like blacklisted by the Bachelor because. 00:04:04 Speaker 2: I did another show. 00:04:06 Speaker 4: I'm like, oh my god, They're never going to ask me to do anything again. And when I got the call, it was so excited and even more excited that it's with Charity, but a little scared. 00:04:15 Speaker 2: You guys, like what are you? 00:04:17 Speaker 1: What are you worried about? I know, I mean if I if I were you, guys, I would be really excited for the upcoming season, because that's gonna be You're gonna have, like I feel like you're going to have so much to talk about with that. 00:04:35 Speaker 3: Season, without a doubt. That's I think that's what I'm most excited for I'm like, we're coming in really at like the perfect timing because there's going to be so much Yeah, it's gonna make exactly well. 00:04:51 Speaker 2: And I don't know if you guys know this you might, but prior to Joe and I being on Happy Hour, it was always two bachelorettes that hosted this podcast. So I feel like with you, guys were like really going back to the roots of that and you'll have so much personal experience to share when covering her season. 00:05:10 Speaker 1: For sure we do. 00:05:13 Speaker 2: It's alreaddy Wait. 00:05:14 Speaker 4: I had to say something, Joe. My very first podcast I ever did was on Clickbait and I wasn't there. 00:05:20 Speaker 2: Were you not there? 00:05:22 Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm pretty sure. 00:05:23 Speaker 4: The only person I remember being there was Natasha because she was like calling me out left and right, and I was like so terrified. 00:05:31 Speaker 3: So it's crazy you only interviewed with Natasha. 00:05:35 Speaker 4: That's the only person I remember talking to me because she had me so many points, but she didn't say I was like, oh. 00:05:41 Speaker 1: My god, I remember. Yeah, I remember you because I remember you were getting a lot of screen time on your season. You were one of the more like you were one of the bigger gets, one of the bigger interviews, and I remember just I wasn't there. 00:05:56 Speaker 2: Where were you are sick? 00:05:57 Speaker 1: No, I think I was gone. I don't know. I was doing something like I had to take I had to take the podcast off for like a couple of weeks, and I think Rachel ended up being there like a week. I wasn't. I swear you were there. 00:06:10 Speaker 4: Maybe it's because I listened to clickbaits so much that season. I just like I assumed you were there. 00:06:15 Speaker 2: Yeah, you guys are such a good pairing. You were in a lot of ways, Like for us, when we were thinking about who would replace us, I. 00:06:30 Speaker 1: Said, you too. 00:06:31 Speaker 3: You were obvious. 00:06:32 Speaker 2: I don't even know you guys were You were exactly who we thought they would go with. Like when we were speculating, it was like we were both just like, it's gonna be Rachel and Charity. Like I guarante I love that You're like top of mind right away and Charity, You've been on this podcast a lot. You're always such like a fun guest. You've also co hosted with Joe, so like it so amazing. 00:06:54 Speaker 1: That was like I don't even know how we aired that, So it was insane. 00:06:59 Speaker 2: What was it was an episode. 00:07:01 Speaker 3: Oh wait, now what happened? Dotten and Jeremy were on and they just had no It was just and there was I. 00:07:06 Speaker 1: Think like Spencer or someone else was I think we had like three people on dot. He just kept like chiming in with like jokes that weren't like didn't land. 00:07:13 Speaker 3: And you know they were inappropriate, And I was like, we can't talk about this, Like all right, you can't. 00:07:21 Speaker 2: Didn't Jeremy have some like funky background too. 00:07:23 Speaker 1: Yeah, he like came out with like a shirt off or something like. 00:07:26 Speaker 3: It was like he was like teeing up Paradise. He had like a little Paradise like palm tree setting. I was like, okay, like we get it. You want to go to the beach. 00:07:35 Speaker 2: No, well he could come on with no shirt and a paradise background to tell us like he didn't want to go to Paradise exactly. 00:07:42 Speaker 3: He's like, no, no, I'm not going. I'm just you know, I'm just seeing what happens. I'm like, okay, last last words. 00:07:48 Speaker 4: I said the same thing too. 00:07:49 Speaker 2: We're glad he went, and we're glad that you went. 00:07:52 Speaker 3: Rachel. 00:07:52 Speaker 5: Rachel, I don't know, I can't do this that you are always one of our most chaotic interviews, Like when you come on, trying to rain you in to say things that we can air. 00:08:03 Speaker 2: Is so hard. You'll be out here being like my season was a failure. Okay, everyone it was, or we could go into that, but like, hopefully I could do this a little bit better and hopefully I can keep it authentic, keep it yourself. 00:08:23 Speaker 1: Those attributes are great for a podcast. They stay unhinged. It's good for everyone. 00:08:33 Speaker 2: Before we part ways, is there anything you guys want to ask us? Any questions you have? 00:08:40 Speaker 6: I have a list, like hello, one question each, not one no, I have like I have like four, but like I do want to ask because obviously, like this episode is about like as much as it is about you guys introducing us, it's about you guys too. 00:08:56 Speaker 3: And then I'm so curious because you guys have done this for so long, how do you guys feel like podcasting together has, like I guess changed, if it's changed for the better, y'all's dynamic as like in relationship, Like, I'm very curious. 00:09:10 Speaker 2: I feel like so when Joe and I got off the show, we were pretty intentional about keeping our businesses separate as much as possible, Like we had a conversation about it. I was like, I don't want to be up in your stuff. I want you out of my stuff. So it was kind of the first time we really like merged in a big way. I feel like it kind of honed our skill on how to work together. Like I don't think it changed our relationship, but I would say it changed that facet of our relationship and like how we communicate and how we take like criticism from each other in a business capacity, because we do have very different styles. I think like people may be surprised, like I'm a little bit more intense than Joe is when it comes to business stuff. 00:09:51 Speaker 3: I think, oh, I'm not surprised at all at all. 00:09:56 Speaker 1: But we we I think we just I think it's just we kind of just gel well, and it's just it's pretty easy. And also like we both for the most part when it comes to work, we have thick skin, like like we can get done with a podcast and I'll and I will critique like something Serena did yse today, yeah, or like or vice versa. I think with a lot of couples, like if you start doing that ship like that could be an issue for people. 00:10:27 Speaker 2: About keeping like podcast bucket, podcast bucket, and then like personal I do think like you can be married and then a hotty, healthy relationship and not be able to work with your partner. I think that's like totally possible. 00:10:38 Speaker 1: We're just also, but we're not gonna like we're not going to get into like, you know, a fight about you know whatever, some something that we fight about, and I'm not going to be like, well, you know two ago, you suck on that podcast. 00:10:54 Speaker 3: Yeah, So that's I think that's really, like honestly, really beautiful because I do feel like that's rare, like not everyone can do that, but I'm like, you guys obviously have managed and done it so beautifully. 00:11:05 Speaker 1: So oh thank you, thank you. 00:11:07 Speaker 4: I can't believe you guys are leaving, Like it's crazy. Whenever I think about Happy Hour, I just like picture you guys. 00:11:13 Speaker 2: I know what's what's next? 00:11:14 Speaker 4: Though, Actually I was going to have your own podcast because. 00:11:19 Speaker 2: Right now we're just like starting off twenty twenty six, parting ways with this, you know what I mean. Like it just felt like more than like anything, it just felt like the right time for us to close the door on this chapter. 00:11:33 Speaker 1: I just couldn't you know what, I couldn't do one more? So i'd you get on the show? You know? I probably I probably does like eighty five of those, maybe more. 00:11:44 Speaker 2: Maybe an tell us, how'd you give them a vatch? 00:11:48 Speaker 1: The answer the answer is always says, well, I didn't even like I never even heard of the show. 00:11:53 Speaker 3: That's a lot a lot. 00:11:56 Speaker 2: Yeah, So it was really less about what's next, so more just about like it was the right time for us to like close the door on this season of life and this opportunity, which we were so grateful for. But yeah, we were just ready to part ways with it. You're the Snake is ending, so like we're leaving, We're leaving this and you're the snake and what is it? 00:12:17 Speaker 1: What is it? 00:12:17 Speaker 2: You're the fire horse, It's coming up, come on out. 00:12:19 Speaker 1: I'm excited about that. 00:12:21 Speaker 4: Yeah, Oh my gosh. 00:12:23 Speaker 3: Okay, I do have another. I have like two more, but just beer with me. Okay. So obviously I think y'all's first season was my season, was it not? 00:12:33 Speaker 2: You know what's crazy? So the first episode of Happy Hour we ever did prior to doing Your season Charity, which was our first season of recapping, we filmed at like six thirty in the morning because Joe was flying back from something and we were supposed to record it like that night. Do you remember this, You got stuck somewhere. Oh all the way overnight. He got in a cab with like three random guys, drove like four hours back to New York and then jumped on and recorded. 00:12:59 Speaker 1: Was on flight. I was on a flight home from Vegas. 00:13:02 Speaker 3: And oh my god, not Vegas, my bachelor my bachelor party on top of it, and the weather was really bad. I'm so sorry. 00:13:13 Speaker 1: What Yeah, the weather was really bad so we couldn't land. So then they re routed us to Baltimore and we didn't get they didn't give us our bags twelve thirty at night, and then me and like four random guys, they're like, you guys want to just taken overback. 00:13:27 Speaker 2: I was like something like a girl could just never do. 00:13:30 Speaker 3: I would have never You would have never seen me record that day like that bus correct correct. 00:13:38 Speaker 1: So to recorrect our producer to recorrect her. We actually were married when we started this podcast. 00:13:47 Speaker 2: Yes, we were married officially. 00:13:49 Speaker 1: It was legally married. 00:13:50 Speaker 2: We didn't have it. 00:13:50 Speaker 1: We didn't have our our South Carolina wedding. 00:13:54 Speaker 2: And our first season was charity, so we got all the fox in line. 00:13:58 Speaker 3: Now wait, okay, I actually love that because this is like incredibly full circle moment, like you guys are patching the torch off time, but. 00:14:11 Speaker 2: That actually is very it is crazy. 00:14:14 Speaker 3: Yeah, but okay, my season wasn't really controversial. I don't think I'm trying to think who really was? I don't maybe like not even like I feel like it's kind of been very mellow the past few seasons. But I do have a feeling that Taylor season is going to give us a lot of great things. So my question is, as hosts, whenever you guys are interviewing maybe contestants, whoever leads, how do you guys like handle maybe something that might be incredibly polarizing or if it's controversial and you guys like decide you guys want to talk about it, how do you guys navigate conversations like that. 00:14:52 Speaker 2: I think for us it's kind of. 00:14:56 Speaker 1: We're just here to ask, remembering it's. 00:14:58 Speaker 2: Not a yeah, it's not a conversation in a way, like it's just we're just here to ask questions to allow people to share whatever parts of their story they want, and then pulling on the threads that they give us, because usually people want to come on, they want to clear the air, they want to talk about the controversial moments because they want to share their side and their perspective. So people are usually willing, and it's. 00:15:21 Speaker 1: Just yeah, the thing is, here's the thing. If they want to share, they will, and if they don't, it's not really you know, it's not it's not our job to pull it out of them. It's correct. If you're uncomfortable, you're uncomfortable, so you're just not going to share it. But usually usually people say yes to a podcast because they want to talk, if they want to talk about what happened. 00:15:42 Speaker 2: And if they don't want to talk, good luck, because that's hard that happens. You have people not want to talk at all. 00:15:47 Speaker 1: Well, you get people that are and I have a lot of sympathy for this because I used to be like this. But you do get people that are nervous. 00:15:57 Speaker 2: Or more short with their antswers. 00:16:00 Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, like the so how to go good you get. 00:16:05 Speaker 2: It and I used to do that and like plus plus plus. 00:16:10 Speaker 3: But see I also think and not that you guys did a bad job. I could feel like if anything, Serena, You're really good at this, Like it's the type of questions you also asked, like not close in questions open yeah. Yeah. 00:16:21 Speaker 2: And sometimes if we ask a question and you get a good sometimes it's on you to be like, Okay, how can I think of a more dynamic question? How can I think of something that they have to expand on, or just like a follow up like okay, why. 00:16:36 Speaker 3: Why was it? Tell me everything? 00:16:41 Speaker 4: Who is your favorite interview that you guys have done? 00:16:45 Speaker 2: That's so hard. We're actually talking about this today and don't say me and Charity, because yeah. 00:16:51 Speaker 1: I wasn't no joking, I honestly, I I don't know, like it's too hard when you when you really think about it, it's just like there's just been so many. 00:17:02 Speaker 2: Yeah, the happy couples are always fun. Charity, you were a first happy couple and you were a first in person interview ever. Remember we were. 00:17:08 Speaker 3: Damn it was that like my yeah, after. 00:17:13 Speaker 2: The day before. You can't remember we set up like a studio at our producer's house. 00:17:19 Speaker 3: Oh my gosh, it was the day before. Please, And that memory is failed. 00:17:24 Speaker 2: That happy couples are fun because you really get to see and know the couple in a way, even just like chatting before and after, especially like you feel like you're getting an inside look into a relationship that you've only seen like parts of on TV, and you kind of leave being like, oh, I feel like I know this couple, and. 00:17:42 Speaker 3: I want to go back. I want to go back to happy couples. 00:17:47 Speaker 4: I don't. 00:17:49 Speaker 1: Any chance you get to record in person. That's the best in my opinion that that's the best because you could actually get like a feel like you could get about or feel for someone, even like just going back to like me saying people get nervous, like, yeah, people ease more into it when you're when you're like sitting next to each other. 00:18:10 Speaker 2: Yeah, that's just mind met Yeah. Yeah, but we've been so happy to come on and chat with you guys, And honestly, the best part about leaving is just like passing this off to you guys and being excited for you guys to take over and be the new host. Like we know, without a doubt you're going to kill it. The listeners are going to be so excited listening to this and hearing this announcement that you guys are taking over. So yeah, we just want to wish you guys the best, and if you ever need us, you have our numbers. 00:18:36 Speaker 3: Oh for sure you will get a ring ring for me. You will be helping me out. 00:18:42 Speaker 2: You guys so much. Oh are sad but exciting exact set sweet for. 00:18:49 Speaker 1: You guys and to all our listeners over the past years and people that crossed over from Clickbait. Love you guys. Thank you so much. This podcast wouldn't even be around if it wasn't for you, so thank you. 00:19:03 Speaker 2: Yes, thank you guys so much for listening. This is Joe and Serena signing off for the last time, and we're wishing you guys all the best. Peace. 00:19:12 Speaker 3: Bye. 00:19:14 Speaker 4: Oh my gosh. 00:19:16 Speaker 3: Okay, why am I so emotional right now? Rachel, give us a tear? 00:19:19 Speaker 4: No, and I, if anything, I can give a tier. This is just so sad. I feel like I don't and I happy hour without Joe and Serena. 00:19:26 Speaker 3: I know maybe we'll have to have them back on for sure, because they have so much great things in store for this year, so I would love to catch back up with them. But it's officially ours now. I know this. 00:19:40 Speaker 4: Going into Taylor season two, there's going to be so much drama. It's gonna be so polarizing. We are so excited to be your new hosts. Make sure you subscribe. We're gonna have new episodes dropping each week, including our very first episode together, which will be coming out this Thursday. 00:19:59 Speaker 3: Well, you're so so excited. And that's it. So we will see you guys next time, and the time after that, and the one after that and the week after that and forever, and good luck getting rid of us, because we're not going anywhere, all right. Bye,
