<v Speaker 1>of a terrifying spiritual battle. My name is Edwin, and
<v Speaker 1>here is John's true Scary Story.
<v Speaker 2>I met my wife in two thousand and four. We
<v Speaker 2>were married in December two thousand and five. When me
<v Speaker 2>and my wife first got married, she was pursuing a
<v Speaker 2>career in the medical field. My mom also works in
<v Speaker 2>the healthcare industry and an assisted living facility in the
<v Speaker 2>town that we live in. She had told my wife,
<v Speaker 2>she said, Hey, there is a lady that needs twenty
<v Speaker 2>four hour care, but her family doesn't want to put
<v Speaker 2>her in a nursing home. They went out and purchased
<v Speaker 2>her a house. They've added on a handicap accessible area,
<v Speaker 2>and the rest of the house would be yours. The
<v Speaker 2>only room that you would share would be the kitchens.
<v Speaker 2>You would need to pit for. Everything's paid for. Utilities
<v Speaker 2>they're looking for people to move in and take care
<v Speaker 2>of her. Would you guys be interested in doing that?
<v Speaker 2>We thought about it. We're like, maybe that's a good thing,
<v Speaker 2>could save a little money, and we agreed. We ended
<v Speaker 2>up moving out of our apartment in January of two
<v Speaker 2>thousand and seven moved in with this lady. This is
<v Speaker 2>where things started to change for us. This lady had
<v Speaker 2>one family member that was just really didn't jibe with me.
<v Speaker 2>This woman was very dark, depressing, if you will. She'd
<v Speaker 2>never seemed to have anything good to say, never had
<v Speaker 2>a smile on her face. She was never really a
<v Speaker 2>happy person. It was really sad, but we dealt with her.
<v Speaker 2>And the thing that this elderly lady that we took
<v Speaker 2>care of, she was legally blind. She was in a
<v Speaker 2>cover around basically, that's how she was able to get around.
<v Speaker 2>She'd get out of her chair and get to her
<v Speaker 2>mobility chair, go to the bathroom. We would just be
<v Speaker 2>nearby in case she needed this. She couldn't really watch TV.
<v Speaker 2>She would listen to it. She really liked A and E.
<v Speaker 2>She would watch the whole entire block of programming every night.
<v Speaker 2>There was a show that started It's called Karen in
<v Speaker 2>the state. It was about these college students that would
<v Speaker 2>go to these houses where they felt like there was
<v Speaker 2>supernatural activitis happened in that. That's really I think when
<v Speaker 2>we started experience, things started to coming in. One night,
<v Speaker 2>me and my wife had left Wednesday night Bible class.
<v Speaker 2>We'd come home. We were in our part of the house,
<v Speaker 2>which was a three bedroom to the living room, a
<v Speaker 2>one full bathroom with a double vanity, and then a
<v Speaker 2>half bath that had a standard shower fillet. So we're
<v Speaker 2>in the master bathroom standing in front of the vanity,
<v Speaker 2>thrushing my feet, getting ready for bed. My wife said,
<v Speaker 2>he got really pulled all of the studd I said, yeah,
<v Speaker 2>then I don't like it. There's something in this house.
<v Speaker 2>Let's go to the living room. Let's pray. I turned
<v Speaker 2>on the living room life. Me and my wife both
<v Speaker 2>got down in the couch r and ease or started praying,
<v Speaker 2>were rebuking the devil. I just remember stopping. I was
<v Speaker 2>listening to my wife. She was crying, face buried in
<v Speaker 2>the pillow. All of a sudden I heard the loudest
<v Speaker 2>blood curdling scream I've ever heard in my life, and
<v Speaker 2>I still hear it in my mind. Then there was
<v Speaker 2>a peace that I can't even describe. To enter that room,
<v Speaker 2>I told my wife, I said, dabe, it's gone well.
<v Speaker 2>With the bed. Both slept like babies. That next Friday,
<v Speaker 2>we had service, we had church. I stood up and
<v Speaker 2>I testified about it. But I didn't know was that
<v Speaker 2>night this thing had left our house and went across
<v Speaker 2>the street. We had went to church with folks across
<v Speaker 2>the street. This man's name is Matt. Matt had heard
<v Speaker 2>my testimony Friday at church and he actually came over
<v Speaker 2>to my house and he told me that morning, he.
<v Speaker 3>Said, I woke up out of the day sleep. I
<v Speaker 3>thought somebody broke into my house. I went straight through
<v Speaker 3>the house, checked on the kids. They were fine, and
<v Speaker 3>he said something began to speak to me.
<v Speaker 2>After that had happened, we went on just business usual.
<v Speaker 2>We've just lived our life. We went several years without
<v Speaker 2>anything happening until I was at a funeral. A good
<v Speaker 2>close family friend of mine lost his sister and I
<v Speaker 2>had on pullusion. She died instantly. We were at the
<v Speaker 2>funeral home. There were three people that showed them up
<v Speaker 2>and they were witches. They looked at me almost like telepathy,
<v Speaker 2>and something spoke and said, there's three of us. It
<v Speaker 2>made the hair stand up on the back of my neck,
<v Speaker 2>and I just looked dead at these people, and I
<v Speaker 2>was just like it was Jesus' name. I never said
<v Speaker 2>anything to me. It was just a very wild experience
<v Speaker 2>and I never I never had anything like that happened.
<v Speaker 2>Since we ended up moving, we just didn't end up
<v Speaker 2>looking out taking care of that lady. We didn't have
<v Speaker 2>really any freedoms. We were young, and he ended up
<v Speaker 2>moving it into my grandma's house in two thoy ten.
<v Speaker 2>Everything was good, we didn't have any issues. Me and
<v Speaker 2>my wife were trying for children and would end up
<v Speaker 2>spending thousands and thousands of dollars in detro fertilization and
<v Speaker 2>all that stuff. And they were just like, okay, whatever,
<v Speaker 2>We'll just adopt. This man is an older gentleman out
<v Speaker 2>of land Georgia. Preached just a really amazing message all
<v Speaker 2>about faith and him. He disposed me and said, if
<v Speaker 2>you believe that God's able to touch him, to just
<v Speaker 2>come up here and let me pray for me right now.
<v Speaker 2>My wife, without hesitation, went up there pray for her.
<v Speaker 2>She had heard of voice get her a date. So
<v Speaker 2>she went to her phone, puts the date in and
<v Speaker 2>it was exactly nine months on the very date that
<v Speaker 2>was saving her phone. She got a phone call from
<v Speaker 2>her friend that she worked with. She called me, she
<v Speaker 2>said that you and your husband looking to adopt. My
<v Speaker 2>mother's friend has custom of her granddaughter. My white things
<v Speaker 2>up the phone, but she just instantly starts crying. She goes, yan,
<v Speaker 2>Donna believe this, and then she tells me that she
<v Speaker 2>unloads that on me on my I believed. A week later,
<v Speaker 2>they called us and said she has a half sister
<v Speaker 2>that was just born, and we went from an anthey
<v Speaker 2>nets to a full mess, like literally overnight. This is
<v Speaker 2>where it seemed like the activity picks back any of us.
<v Speaker 2>When they came to be with us, they came out
<v Speaker 2>of a very horrible condition, a very horrible situation. In
<v Speaker 2>this family, there was a half brother and half sister
<v Speaker 2>that were in the call practice witchcraft and their dad
<v Speaker 2>had committed suicide. They also had two cousins in the
<v Speaker 2>same family. Father son committed suicide and dad committed suicide
<v Speaker 2>two three years later, and the son committed suicide. This
<v Speaker 2>whole family line was completely played. It was it was
<v Speaker 2>just a very nasty, bad situation that these girls were
<v Speaker 2>brought out of. I started having these night terrors. I
<v Speaker 2>will be asleep and feel this dreadful, overwhelming fear come
<v Speaker 2>into the room. It's always the dark shadow figure of
<v Speaker 2>a man that walks to my side of the bed.
<v Speaker 2>It reaches from my throat, it tries to choke me.
<v Speaker 2>I am fi with everything I got just to say
<v Speaker 2>the name of Cheeks. It takes every ounce of strength.
<v Speaker 2>Once I get the name out, then the hands received
<v Speaker 2>and I just keep saying it and saying it until
<v Speaker 2>I wake up, and I'll wake up in a full
<v Speaker 2>fledged fight mode. It started after we adopted our girls,
<v Speaker 2>and then I started traveling all over the United States.
<v Speaker 2>In twenty sixteen, I was looking my first job out
<v Speaker 2>of town in brad At, Pennsylvania. I was staying at
<v Speaker 2>the Holiday and Express right there on the river. I
<v Speaker 2>was sharing a room with the guy that worked on
<v Speaker 2>a shift. If he wasn't there, I was turning in
<v Speaker 2>for the night, fell asleep. I got that overwhelming feeling
<v Speaker 2>in dread and under terror come over and again I
<v Speaker 2>watched this black figure of a man. I'm through to
<v Speaker 2>go and get real close. They start to grab my
<v Speaker 2>neck and start to speeze again. The fight is on
<v Speaker 2>to get the name and Jesus out of my mouth.
<v Speaker 2>I have probably had one of these episodes from five
<v Speaker 2>to twenty fourteen. I think the last one I had
<v Speaker 2>was probably a few weeks ago, pretty brutal. Me and
<v Speaker 2>my wife and my daughters were coming home. Who just
<v Speaker 2>turned down our road. There's a brainhouse on this country road,
<v Speaker 2>and there's a street light. On the opposite side of
<v Speaker 2>the brainhouse, there's a home. We had just turned at
<v Speaker 2>the light and started down our road when I seen
<v Speaker 2>this ten or eleven year old girl on a razor scooter.
<v Speaker 2>She was blighting right across the road. My daughters were like, Dad,
<v Speaker 2>what is that. The face was pale. It looked like death,
<v Speaker 2>a dead face, pale, sunken, hollow eyed. He was wearing
<v Speaker 2>a jacket with her around the face, staring right at us,
<v Speaker 2>and went right across the road and vanished in the
<v Speaker 2>thin air. I stopped right in the middle of the street.
<v Speaker 2>The light actually dimmed as this thing across the road.
<v Speaker 2>I backed up, turned my brights on, shine them because
<v Speaker 2>I was like, where did that kid go? Theer to
<v Speaker 2>nobody around My wife said, just go to the house.
<v Speaker 2>It just makes you think, where do these things go
<v Speaker 2>if you don't have the power to get rid of them?
<v Speaker 2>They just what do they just take up shop at
<v Speaker 2>your house? Do they just mess with you? Moving on?
<v Speaker 2>Around August of twenty twenty one, and my wife came
<v Speaker 2>to me and she said, hey, you ain't going to
<v Speaker 2>believe this. I said, what she signed, pray we've been married.
<v Speaker 2>This is year nineteen for us. I was excited and
<v Speaker 2>I couldn't believe it. We naturally out ue in this house.
<v Speaker 2>I'm like, we've got our past. We've got to buy
<v Speaker 2>a house. We ended up finding perfect house, right down
<v Speaker 2>in the middle between church and work. It's perfect. Get
<v Speaker 2>moved in April twenty twenty two. Ate our first meal
<v Speaker 2>April fourth, twenty two. Down the road from us. It's
<v Speaker 2>a trailer park and there's a lot of bad activity
<v Speaker 2>that happens just trail, a lot of druvenues, a lot
<v Speaker 2>of the coops are coming and going. My middle daughter,
<v Speaker 2>and the social butterfly as she is, she made friends
<v Speaker 2>with a girl in the trailer park. She said, I
<v Speaker 2>want her to stay the night. I'd like to take
<v Speaker 2>her to Sunday school. I said it work. That's fine
<v Speaker 2>for me. I don't care. This little girl comes over
<v Speaker 2>and we feed her a good meal. We're getting ready
<v Speaker 2>for bed. As a matter of fact, I'm in bed.
<v Speaker 2>These girls come to run it down the hallway down
<v Speaker 2>to my room, blessing my door. Right. Dad, he saw something.
<v Speaker 2>He saw this giant shadow walking down the hallway towards this.
<v Speaker 2>I said, this is what we're gonna do. I said,
<v Speaker 2>we're gonna go to the living room and we're gonna pray,
<v Speaker 2>and we're gonna get rid of this thing. This little
<v Speaker 2>girl is looking at me and she said, I've seen
<v Speaker 2>this before. It's at my house and changes colors. I
<v Speaker 2>look better, I said, honey. I said, I want FaceTime.
<v Speaker 2>I said, you don't do anything wrong. You're gonna pray
<v Speaker 2>about it. I'm gonna help you. She's crying. We started praying.
<v Speaker 2>I felt that heaviness lift, and I told him that.
<v Speaker 2>I said, we're good, y'all, go to sleep and we'll
<v Speaker 2>see you in the morning. With the rampant drug use
<v Speaker 2>from this this adjacent neighborhood, I believe that there's residual
<v Speaker 2>spirits that are out. I was sitting in my living
<v Speaker 2>room one night mine in my own business. But out
<v Speaker 2>in front of my eye, I seen something manifested in
<v Speaker 2>my kitchen. It was just a brief second. I was
<v Speaker 2>looking right into my kitchen. It went floating by him
<v Speaker 2>and it was another dead face that had just this
<v Speaker 2>ugly face, no eyes, just this ugly dead and looking
<v Speaker 2>the corpse of a face. And I've seen that twice.
<v Speaker 2>It's probably the start of this year. I was going
<v Speaker 2>to dead and I got a big guard dog and
<v Speaker 2>he's laying he always lays in this in my bed.
<v Speaker 2>He just starts growling. And I hear this right in
<v Speaker 2>my doorway in my closet. Am I really hearing this?
<v Speaker 2>I thought about David and when David sleep life in
<v Speaker 2>the Bible, and I was like, you know what, I'm
<v Speaker 2>not gonna fear whatever this is, because I got something greater.
<v Speaker 2>I just fell asleep. I just went to bead and
<v Speaker 2>that was that. But I will tell you there are
<v Speaker 2>the times that I got up in the middle and
<v Speaker 2>I thinking, my Lord and my one of my dogs
<v Speaker 2>having an accident in the house. I'll smell futre, like
<v Speaker 2>absolute future, smells like what in the world, like just
<v Speaker 2>pure death. I'll be looking around there wouldn't be nothing there,
<v Speaker 2>and I'm like, Okay, I know what this is every
<v Speaker 2>time I'm getting out of a fray. That's why I guess,
<v Speaker 2>really why I wanted to share my story, because I've
<v Speaker 2>experienced this and I amster and this is what I've
<v Speaker 2>experienced me personally, I just believe it comes from the territory,
<v Speaker 2>it comes with what I'm doing.
