Cheers to Rachel Recchia!
The last time Joe and Serena sat down with Rachel Recchia, the “Bachelor in Paradise” teaser had just dropped and she was tight-lipped on everything to come... but now, there is nothing left to hide and Rachel is sharing details about EVERYTHING she experienced this summer in “Paradise” (so far)!
During their conversation, Rachel opens up about how she approached “Bachelor in Paradise” differently from “The Bachelorette” and debates whether her strategies ended up hurting her chances of leaving the beach in love. She also explains why the end of her time with Sean was so frustrating, why she doesn’t regret stopping Brayden from going out with Becca, and why doing a roast at this point in the journey was the worst thing possible for everyone on the beach. Plus, what is to come of her second chance with Jordan V.!?

00:00:02 Speaker 1: Hey, everyone, welcome back to Betcher Happy Hour. I'm Joe and I'm Serena and we are here with none other than the former Bachelorette herself, maybe probably the star of Paradise, Rachel Recki is here. Rachel, Welcome to Better Happy Hour. 00:00:16 Speaker 2: Hi guys, thanks for having me, Thanks for coming. How you doing doing great? 00:00:22 Speaker 3: Super excited we finally get to sit down and actually chat about the season. I feel like the last time I saw you, too, we were still keeping everything kind of a secret. 00:00:31 Speaker 4: Well, last time we saw you was the finale of Charity season and we recorded with you and Gabby and we've been sitting in the audience drinking champagne for like six hours, and you and Branden we were trying to figure out if anything was going on there. You were wearing one of his ear rings. Now we know, we know, well we think we know, I think we know. I mean, the season's not over yet, but we have a lot to chat about today. 00:00:58 Speaker 2: Yes, I still have his earring. 00:01:00 Speaker 5: Do you really that? 00:01:02 Speaker 3: I dow nice to remember keeping it in a shrine. 00:01:08 Speaker 5: Yeah, there you go, the Paradise Shriede. 00:01:11 Speaker 1: How should we do this? Should we? You wanna? Let's just go over the guys that you dated on Paradise and we'll just talk about everyone perfect. 00:01:20 Speaker 2: I can absolutely do that. 00:01:21 Speaker 1: I sew the first guy. So you get down to the beach, former bachelorette, it's got to be a little strange, Like you probably never thought you would go to Paradise, now you find yourself here. 00:01:34 Speaker 5: Yeah, how did that feel? 00:01:36 Speaker 1: Yeah? 00:01:37 Speaker 2: Yeah, I was so excited. 00:01:38 Speaker 3: Honestly, I feel like my season it was a lot of pressure. I think the way I went about it was definitely in a way that wasn't super natural to me. 00:01:47 Speaker 2: So I was really looking forward to coming down to the. 00:01:50 Speaker 3: Beach and taking my dating life a little bit slower, and so I think that's kind of what I did this season. 00:01:57 Speaker 2: That's a little different. But I was really excited to come down and have a big change. 00:02:02 Speaker 1: Were you worried about seeing any of the guys that went pretty far on your season, like Evan and Tyler, because I'm assume I'm assuming you assumed that they were there going to be there. 00:02:12 Speaker 3: Yeah, No, I was really actually excited to see them. Me and Tyler have had a really good friendship since my season, even I hadn't really spoken to since kind of the finale, but we are in a really good place, so I didn't think anything would be weird, But it went so much better than I could have thought. We ended up being even closer as friends, and it was really great having them. 00:02:35 Speaker 1: There was there a part of you that thought, potentially Tino shows up on the beach. No, okay, I don't. 00:02:42 Speaker 3: I really don't think. I mean, if he came back on this show, I would be shocked. There was a moment when Katie came down. I think that I looked at everyone and I'm like, if you guys do this to me, like I'm going up those stairs. But yeah, he's kind of the only one I'm not super were on great terms with to this day. 00:03:03 Speaker 5: Well that's fair. 00:03:03 Speaker 4: I mean, like he's the one that's like your ex really like. So I think if there's anyone you'd be a little apprehensive about having a beach chat with, it's probably absolutely. 00:03:17 Speaker 1: Yeah. 00:03:17 Speaker 3: I don't think there's anything that needs to be said more than what everyone saw last time. 00:03:23 Speaker 1: So yeah, yeah, was there any or were there any guys in the franchise that you were hoping to see down there? 00:03:32 Speaker 3: So I knew going in that it was going to be majority of my season and Charity season, and I hadn't seen Charity season air yet, So yeah, I was really looking forward to meeting all those guys and getting to know them before seeing them on TV. 00:03:47 Speaker 2: Kind of organically. 00:03:49 Speaker 3: Of course, going down, there were a couple guys that stood out just from looking at pictures, but I mean, I think you can look so different in person. I had no idea what their personalities would be like. So wasn't anyone that I was coming down hoping to see. 00:04:04 Speaker 1: Just so you wind up talking to hot Sean so ken? 00:04:09 Speaker 4: Ye? 00:04:09 Speaker 2: Yes? 00:04:11 Speaker 1: Was I mean? Watching it? It really it didn't seem like there was a romantic connection between you two. It seemed more of like friendship. Let's just hang out potentially see where it goes. But yeah, anything anything more you want to talk about with that one? 00:04:26 Speaker 3: Yeah, Sean was I think really surprising. When I first came down to the beach, I was definitely taking a step back and letting everything happen organically. And Sean was someone that day one I was spending a lot of time with. We were always kind of naturally gravitating towards each other, so I was excited to give it a chance. I think people have seen me have really intense relationships. They can really tell when I like someone, So I think looking back on that, I wanted to give it a chance. But yeah, Joe, you're right, I don't know if it was like an amazing life connection with Sean and I. 00:05:02 Speaker 4: So Sean makes a few attempts at Jess in the first few days of Paradise, how did that feel. Were you kind of like, I mean, we do see at one point, be like if you want to kiss Jess, like kiss Jess. But was it like I know you and just are friends. Was that weird for you at all? 00:05:18 Speaker 2: Yeah? 00:05:18 Speaker 3: No, I think for me it's so different because I know what it's like to date multiple people. So I did kind of have an advantage of knowing that exploring people is really beneficial to a relationship. 00:05:32 Speaker 2: So I love Jess. 00:05:33 Speaker 3: I wanted everyone to explore because at the end of the day, if they're your person and he went and kissed Jess or had a conversation with her and realized he liked me, then that's just what would have happened. So I was definitely like encouraging him to go talk to Jess have that conversation because I know he wanted to, but I think when people saw me get upset was just the fact that I'm encouraging you to go do this and then you're kind of going behind my back and telling everyone that, like, I just really like you. So that's where that all came from. But just a weird situation. 00:06:06 Speaker 4: Yeah, I feel like there was an expiry date on that relationship anyway, and I feel like, you know, the jest thing might have been a small. 00:06:14 Speaker 5: Part of it. 00:06:15 Speaker 4: I feel like the bigger part was what you heard from Brandon about what Sean was saying about you that really called it quits. 00:06:21 Speaker 2: Yeah, definitely. 00:06:23 Speaker 4: I feel like what you said was so interesting though about almost everyone on that beach has been on the Bachelor of the bacherette where there's a bunch of people dating one person. You, on the other hand, have been on that side, and you've been on the lead side where you're dating a bunch of people at the same time. I don't know, I've just I've never I've never thought about the difference in dynamic there and how like it is so hard to people go to Paradise to see their person like jumping around, and especially it's hard for people to want to jump around themselves, and I feel like you kind of did that very seamlessly. Do you think it was like because you had experience on both sides. 00:07:05 Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean I got to experience like I got to experience it, I guess on the bachelor side, where I would get anxiety and I would see all these girls going on dates with Clayton, but experiencing it myself as a lead, I know that I dated thirty two guys, and you have connections, but you can always tell the ones that are a little bit stronger or certain. 00:07:27 Speaker 2: People stick out to you. So even though I'm dating. 00:07:29 Speaker 3: All these guys, in the back of my mind, I can it's almost helping me to like narrow who I have the strongest connection with, if that makes sense. So I was always encouraging everyone to like really go explore and go and see because I think people were definitely struggling with as soon as one thing didn't work out, they were just like, oh, I'm done, and that's not what Paradise was about. So it was definitely I think, yeah, easier for me to make that transition on the beach. 00:07:57 Speaker 1: Do you think that could have worked against you as far as like the person that you're potentially talking talking to maybe thinks like you don't care as much because you are more open to that. 00:08:10 Speaker 3: Yeah, I think I have a conversation with Wells this episode where I just remember him telling me He's like, you have to stop telling everyone to be so open or that you want everyone to explore, because it just shows them that you kind of don't really care. And I'm like, I do, That's not where I'm coming from. But yeah, I think it definitely was something that could have hurt me at the end of the day because people didn't really understand where I was coming from with that for sure. 00:08:37 Speaker 4: Yeah, like you were saying, go explore because I'm not interested. You were like, oh, I've seen and experienced the benefit of exploring, and I I want you to pick me or pick them. I don't want you to just like run around, But like, I think exploring is going to help you and it'll help our relationship. 00:08:55 Speaker 2: Exactly, exactly interesting. 00:08:58 Speaker 1: Okay, So here comes Braiden. Now it seems like you both you both go on a date, you have a lot of fun, you seem to both be very into each other. We think there's something there. 00:09:09 Speaker 4: What was there in my opinion, Branden was your strongest connection. 00:09:14 Speaker 5: It was your shortest. 00:09:15 Speaker 4: It was like literally the shortest on the entire beach, and it was one of the strongest. 00:09:20 Speaker 1: That you look good, you look good together, and it seems like you have real chemistry, and. 00:09:24 Speaker 4: You were someone that like when you're into someone, I feel like it's it's obvious. 00:09:28 Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I'm starting to realize that. But I definitely agree. 00:09:32 Speaker 3: It was really awesome because I came down wanting a strong friendship first, and Braiden and I really built that just being in separate relationships. He was really, you know, interested in Kat and he was really pursuing that, and I remember we would just have great conversation. The day that him and Cat broke up, I was really there for him, and it wasn't something I was really thinking. Of course, Braiden is so attractive, but I wasn't like, oh, I'm going to slide in right now. 00:09:58 Speaker 2: And when the truth box. 00:10:00 Speaker 3: Happened and we kissed, I did realize that there was a really strong connection there. And I think Braiden brought out aside of me that I haven't seen across the board on all my seasons. He really allowed me to open up and kind of have fun and still have this really great connection. So it was definitely I had such a great time with him, and I don't regret that at all. 00:10:22 Speaker 2: It was amazing. 00:10:24 Speaker 1: Okay, So then what what happened? Because Braiden then goes on a date with Becca, right her name was Becca? Yeah, yehca yeah, and then you're kind of you were kind of like which we talked about and we get you were just kind of like, you don't have to, you know, talk to me, like, go do what you gotta do. So, yeah, what in your mind was it was it over? 00:10:47 Speaker 3: No? So I actually wasn't that worried in that moment and not saying that, like I didn't think there could be a chance, but I just felt so good with our date, and you know, everything was so new, so I wanted him to of course go on this date and explore, and I didn't really think that was kind of the end of it. 00:11:15 Speaker 4: Okay, So Branden leaves on his date. You obviously felt like you had nothing to worry about, But looking back, do you wish that you had had more of a conversation with him before he left, or that like, you know, you had maybe handled that situation differently because you do kind of say like yeah, yeah, no worries, like go right ahead. 00:11:38 Speaker 3: I honestly don't regret the way I handled it at all. I think when Becca came down, I really there wasn't a part of me that thought, like, him going on this date was gonna make me lose him, because I really was so confident in our connection. And I think again, just kind of knowing what I know and knowing how easy it is to lose someone in this environment, if they don't choose you, then it just wasn't meant to be. So as hard as it was for me to accept that and understand that he no longer wanted to be with me, I think looking back, they had such a strong connection. He obviously had real feelings for her, so I have to respect that. 00:12:17 Speaker 2: At the end of the day, I. 00:12:17 Speaker 3: Don't think there's anything I could have said to make him want to stay totally. 00:12:23 Speaker 4: So you're kind of like under the mentality of like, if he wants to go on the date, let him. 00:12:28 Speaker 5: If he wants to choose someone else, let him. 00:12:29 Speaker 4: I'm not gonna like try to You don't wish you'd like articulated your feelings more in advance, like it probably would have changed anything. 00:12:37 Speaker 3: Right, And I think I also come from like a different perspective as well, where my engagement failed because of cheating. So if they're gonna leave you for someone, I would kind of rather it happen almost in front of me or no now than know, a little bit down the road and not saying that he would have cheated or anything, but obviously he was more interested in someone else, and I'm okay with that at the end. 00:12:59 Speaker 2: Of the day. 00:13:01 Speaker 1: So then when Becca ends up dipping out, in your head, it's already over between you and Branton because it's like he chose her. I'm not going to be second option. 00:13:12 Speaker 4: Yeah, because we were like, oh, maybe they'll get back together, maybe they'll give it a second try. 00:13:17 Speaker 5: When Becca left. 00:13:21 Speaker 3: Yeah see, I also I understand that not wanting to be second but I think in this show sometimes there always is that opportunity for second chances. 00:13:31 Speaker 2: I really do believe in that. 00:13:32 Speaker 3: So it wasn't something that as soon as he picked Beccau I was like, oh, this is like completely over. I just knew that he really really did want her, So it wasn't like there even was that opportunity for us again if that makes sense? 00:13:47 Speaker 1: Got it? Got it? That does make sense. Okay, so then we see out of nowhere. So watching it back, it seemed like Tanner had a great date at Davia. It seems like they're going to potentially go, I don't know, go the distance, but they're gonna date. Shot, They're going to date for a little bit, and then all of a sudden, Tanner's like everyone's like, Tanner's like the bachelor of the Rose ceremony or the cocktail party because he's the only one still single. And then it does look like he gives you a friendship Rose. 00:14:21 Speaker 4: Okay, wait before we get into you in Tanner, can you give us any explanation what went on with Tanner and Davia? 00:14:27 Speaker 3: So me and Tanner, like we were really really good friends, Like he was someone that I was hanging out with all day, which no one got to see. We would just spend all day talking and laughing. We had so much in common, and he was someone that when he came down, of course he's so like handsome, and I was interested in him, but I was also in a relationship or at the time, I was with Braiden. 00:14:50 Speaker 2: Was it with Braiden? I think, yeah, I was, I was in a relationship you were. 00:14:55 Speaker 4: With Shot switching to Braiden. Yeah, you da, and then I think you kind of started with Braiden. 00:15:02 Speaker 2: Okay. 00:15:03 Speaker 3: Yeah, So at the time I was really excited for what was happening with Braiden. He was having a lot of drama with multiple women wanting him, and it was never something in my mind that I thought to pursue. The night Charity came down, though, I started hearing that Tanner was in a spot where he wasn't sure how he felt and he kind of didn't know if he wanted to stay on the beach, and as soon as I heard that, I was like, well, I've wanted to pursue Tanner. So at this point I'm just going to throw my hat in the ring because I am very interested in him and that's the truth, and just see where it goes. And we are really good friends, so maybe we could go into this week friends and then if something happens, that would be amazing. But yeah, from my perspective, I really just remember being like, we are both in this situation where we kind of don't know what to do. We're in the same boat in my mind, and then can there. 00:15:58 Speaker 2: Be something there? 00:15:59 Speaker 3: So it kind of just was like this, let's just see what happens, but more of a friendship rose at the time in my mind. 00:16:06 Speaker 2: Does that make sense? 00:16:07 Speaker 4: Yeah, because you guys did make out, like you kind of did shoot your shot with him and then yeah, like it wasn't just like, hey, we're buddy, buddy, can I get your rose? Because like I still want to stay and try to find love, like you were putting yourself out there romantically and then he gave you the rose. But it does give more context to why you were like because Joe was very much like, no, he just gave our friendship rose, and I was more like I don't know, because like they did make out, so like is there that connection? But hearing that you guys were such strong friends for so long and then you shot your shot makes sense why you were still kind of like I don't have clarity on what your rose for me means. 00:16:44 Speaker 1: He also shot his shot too. It wasn't like it was just you going after him. It seemed like he wanted to do it as well. 00:16:51 Speaker 2: What did he say to me? 00:16:52 Speaker 3: He's like, do you want to stay? That's what he said as we were walking Bay he said do you want to stay? But as soon as we kissed, I was like, oh, like this could be something like I'm so excited. And then he looked at me and said do you want to stay? So then I remember just going oh, he's just saying like, yeah, do you. 00:17:08 Speaker 2: Want to stay? 00:17:09 Speaker 3: Like it's sort of a friend vibe. So it was kind of really confusing in my mind what was happening. 00:17:14 Speaker 5: No, that's confusing. That's a mixed signal. 00:17:17 Speaker 1: That's why I thought it. I remember hearing that and thinking, Okay, that's that's a friendship, right. 00:17:21 Speaker 5: Yeah, And that's why you were so convinced it was a friendship, Rose. 00:17:23 Speaker 4: It was because yeah, that is a mixinggnal, like, hey, well you just kissed me, but now you're like do you want to stay? And it's like, well, yeah I want to stay. And it's like okay, well I'll give you my rose. It's not like I'm excited to see where this goes. I'm gonna give you my rose and we can like see what happens. There's definitely like a lack of clarity and just like miscommunication there. 00:17:40 Speaker 1: Absolutely yeah, okay, So then before Jordan ve gets there, what's the conversation now or what's the what's the situation between you and Tanner the next day or whatever it is. 00:17:53 Speaker 3: It was really hard for me this day, I think because I have kind of had trouble the beach after every single Row ceremony, I was still really confused with where I stood with everyone. So I think I was kind of just taking a step back, really kind of having my guard up just because of what had happened with Sean with Brayden. So I was kind of just waiting to see where Tanner was gonna direct me at this point the. 00:18:22 Speaker 4: Next morning, and I feel like I would be similar. It's like, kay, I, like you said, you threw your hat in the ring. It's like you want him to now make the next move, like take the initiative to do a little pursuing. 00:18:35 Speaker 1: Now, right, And did he? 00:18:39 Speaker 2: So Jordan came down really quickly that day, So. 00:18:43 Speaker 3: Yeah, that was just a confusing day in general too, because I remember when Jordan came down, I was really excited to see him, really excited for this possibility to like have another date with him and see if something could be there. But I also remember thinking should I pull Tanner, Like should I ask him if I can go on this date, And I was like, I don't want to pull him and ask him, and then he's like, we're just friends, why are you asking? 00:19:10 Speaker 2: Yeah? 00:19:10 Speaker 5: Yeah. 00:19:11 Speaker 3: So I'm now looking back like I absolutely should have been like, hey, I know we're friends or are we friends or what do you think? But at the time I didn't want to be embarrassed and have Tanner just be like, why are you pulling me? 00:19:24 Speaker 2: So it was just like really confusing day. 00:19:28 Speaker 1: Do you think you were treated differently because you were the former bachelorette amongst everyone on the beach, No, not at all. 00:19:34 Speaker 3: I think even just looking at the other bachelorettes coming down, I was always treated as like just you know, as part of the cast. I don't feel like there was ever a hierarchy on the beach. 00:19:47 Speaker 1: Okay, Okay, So you go on a date with Jordan. 00:19:50 Speaker 4: V and I mean, we have our opinions about the dates, but you tell us first. 00:19:58 Speaker 1: No. 00:19:58 Speaker 3: I was just really excited because Jordan I have had a really good friendship him and Tyler. They've been consistently in my life since our season, and Jordan and I's date was just kind of this perfect storm of the worst case scenario and everyone not feeling great, and it was my first date, it was his first date, and I always look back on it and wonder kind of what if. So regardless of where everyone's feelings are, it was just amazing to truly get our first date that I think we should have always had. 00:20:32 Speaker 2: So it was really really nice to be able to do that. 00:20:35 Speaker 4: Okay, so then our feelings about this date are what you're looking at me like, I shouldn't say this, No. 00:20:41 Speaker 1: Say it, I don't think I mean watching it, it doesn't seem like it seems like the same date as on your season. It just doesn't seem like you're that. 00:20:48 Speaker 5: It just seems like you're not into him. Like here's the thing. 00:20:52 Speaker 4: It seems like you're trying and you're participating, and you're like you're giving the date. You're all and you guys get along like it's obviously you guys get along and you're comfort together, Like it doesn't seem awkward. It just seems like there's not a romantic connection and it seems like he is feeling it a little and you're like not feeling it, but not in a bad way where you're like ugh, Like you're just like. 00:21:14 Speaker 1: Also maybe we're we're also we're also maybe maybe because maybe we're judging you harder because we feel like we've watched so much of you, so we feel like we ought to like I don't know, like we're like, oh, like Rachel's not into him, or Rachel's really in the Braden, but like, what the fuck do we know? We're just maybe we've just seen more. 00:21:34 Speaker 4: Of you, and maybe maybe we're tainted because we saw it before where you sent him home, So maybe we're still under the impression that like, no, there's just no way, like she wasn't into him before she signed into him now, but that that's just how we read it watching it. Yeah, but I mean, I don't know you were totally off because you're I'm assuming you're not with him now. 00:21:55 Speaker 5: I mean we see you come back to the me and you go back to Tanner. 00:21:58 Speaker 3: Well okay, there there's so much like to the story. I think people just watched me go in this date with Brandon, and even watching back, having watched myself go on so many dates, it was kind of like chemistry flying off the screen, like it was very intense, and me and Jordan have more like of a sweet different relationship, so I think coming off of seeing. 00:22:21 Speaker 2: That, it totally can appear that way. 00:22:24 Speaker 3: But connection wise, we've always had like kind of something there and I had an incredible time on the date. However, I feel like I took an experience away from Jordan in a way of sending him home so early, and I didn't want to take paradise away from him as well. So we had a really long conversation about him going down and really exploring and really trying and if it's meant to be, if we come back to each other, we will, And at this point I told him, I'm like, Tanner is it's kind of a friend thing. And then I come down to the beach and then I have this talk with Tanner and everything just kind of goes up in the air. But I really wanted Jordan to have this full experience, so maybe that was me sort of trying to allow him to do that as well. 00:23:19 Speaker 5: Rachel's just trying to let everyone to date everyone. 00:23:22 Speaker 4: She's like, this is not Rachel's the reason we don't have EDDI strong couples this season, and she's convincing everyone to play the field for a week on week No, I'm. 00:23:31 Speaker 3: So bad because I really do think Jordan. I don't want him to view me as someone that keeps ruining this for him. Right, So I was like, please go to the beach and explore, and I do. I'm so interested in you. I do want to see where this goes. But as soon as we got back, I really wanted to give him that space, even if me and Tanner weren't a thing, to do that and not feel pressure to always be near me or like does I don't know if this makes. 00:23:56 Speaker 1: Sense, Okay, but yeah, in the moment, who are you? Who are you leaning more towards after Tanner tells you like, no, I'm that wasn't a friendship, Rose like, I'm into you? 00:24:08 Speaker 5: Are you more into Tanner? Jordan? V? 00:24:10 Speaker 3: Then in that moment, it's really hard to say, because Tanner just kind of came out of nowhere in my mind, and well, not that we weren't friends before, but this romantic connection kind of came out of nowhere, and I think I really wanted to explore what could be with him, while Jordan was going to explore as well. 00:24:35 Speaker 4: Right, So at this point, like you and Jordan are kind of both exploring and you're but you're still kind of into each other. So it's like we're probably gonna find out at the rose ceremony, like when that comes to a head on if it's because do we also have the roses this week? 00:24:51 Speaker 2: Yes? 00:24:52 Speaker 4: Okay, so we'll then have to wait and find out if Jordan Ve gets your rose or Tanner my bet is on? 00:25:01 Speaker 1: Really yeah, after listening to Rachel fucking ramble and confused the funk out of me at this point, I actually think it's Jordan V. 00:25:12 Speaker 5: Well, well we'll see, okay, well see. 00:25:16 Speaker 1: Uh And I'm joking when I say ramble, I mean that in like a nice way, even though I don't know how that came across. I should never do a roast. Okay, Let's who are the strong relationships on the beach right now? Are there any? 00:25:36 Speaker 2: It's hard to say. 00:25:37 Speaker 3: I think we have a really new couple with John Henry and Kat Even and Kylie have been going strong. Eliza and Aaron they were kind of off again on again, but they are, I guess considered one of our stronger couples. It's a tough season because I feel like we don't really have couples like you two, or like a Brandon and Serene last season. Yeah, probably, and Kylie would be, in my mind, considered the strongest at this point. 00:26:04 Speaker 1: So what what went down? Was there ever a conversation that Jess and Tyler made up? 00:26:15 Speaker 2: Yeah? Okay, I'm where all parties knew, everyone knew. 00:26:21 Speaker 4: Okay, Okay, we've been wondering this because we don't see a conversation between Tyler and Mercedes or one between Jess and Blake about it. 00:26:27 Speaker 5: We never see Tyler and Jess talk again. 00:26:30 Speaker 4: But interesting, Okay that yeah, that's interesting, even more so because of what happens with Tyler and Mercedes in this episode, where people are now pushing that he's got that into her. 00:26:43 Speaker 1: Okay, so you've been You've done a lot up until this point. Would you rather be would you be the next bachelorette? Or would you do Paradise again if you're not with. 00:27:00 Speaker 4: Him, if you had to pick one if he had or are you. 00:27:03 Speaker 3: Just like I really do feel like I'm done? Yeah, because you know who knows I could do with someone. I feel like this experience was my favorite by far. 00:27:14 Speaker 2: There was so much less pressure on me. 00:27:17 Speaker 3: I got to really explore and try out different kinds of relationships without the pressure of being a lead. I appreciate my time as a lead. I learned so much about myself, but yeah, that was a lot. I don't feel like I could do that again, like emotionally, so probably Paradise. 00:27:35 Speaker 1: Do you feel like you would have been better off doing Paradise and then becoming a lead. Do you think the experience of Paradise would have helped more with that? 00:27:46 Speaker 3: No? I definitely made so many mistakes as a lead, so many. I think it's just very hard for me or Gabby to ever speak on that because we don't even know what it's like to be leads on normal seasons. Our season was so strange, so I think who knows? I really I couldn't. 00:28:02 Speaker 4: Say speaking of Gabby, we have to talk a little bit about the Rose. We don't have to talk too much about your jokes if you don't want to, because yours got a little harsh. But how was the energy in the room with the Rose, Like obviously Katie just came down, Blake and her chatting, you know, like you and Blake seem to have a good friendship. How's he doing, how's Jess doing? How's how are the jokes blowing? Because from our viewpoint, it seemed just kind of tense in the room. It doesn't doesn't seem like anyone's laughing that much. Seems like a lot of the jokes aren't landing. 00:28:38 Speaker 3: Yeah, the day Katie came down was really difficult. I think knowing okay, sorry, I think knowing that they haven't spoken in two years now seeing Katie has to be putting Blake in a headspace where he's really thinking about how he wants to move forward with Jess with the rest of this journey. I know Jess is a little bit confused on what's happening. She's kind of all in now, but she's still holding back a little. I think doing a roast at this point in the season was the worst idea possible. Yeah, I think it brought everyone to a place of confusion. 00:29:16 Speaker 2: I think everyone that night was fighting. Multiple people were crying. 00:29:20 Speaker 3: We have engagements coming up in a week, two weeks, and everyone on the speech is broken up. I remember just waking up the next morning on the Rose ceremony and just going like, do we even still have a single couple on this speech? So I think it's the worst thing that could have happened. And I think the boys were being so mean for no reason. 00:29:40 Speaker 4: The boys were being mean, like we were saying going into it, we were worried about Olivia and Kat and they both seemed to handle it pretty well, and the boys were going out there saying some harsh jokes. 00:29:51 Speaker 1: Well, I think, and I said, that's the hard part about a roast because you're like supposed to you're supposed to like really get someone, but you're not. If you're not funny, like, it is just going to come across me, like like the Gabby So Tanner tells the Gabby joke about you, which which comes across me, and I don't know if you could have delivered that funny maybe, But then what's the conversation betwetween you two after the roast? Are you kind of like, hey, I'm gonna yeah. 00:30:24 Speaker 3: It's just it's just difficult because people really watched me struggle on my season, watched Gabby struggle with men deciding they like one more or leaving us for the other. So hearing that, hearing that you would rather have someone else who I spent whole season having men do that to me. 00:30:45 Speaker 2: I know he watched it, or he has to kind of be aware. 00:30:48 Speaker 3: And I think if you're trying to make something work with me, it's so unnecessary. There's so many other jokes that you could say, I'm a failed bachelor att or whatever you want to say, but that one I just think really cross line, and it being from Tanner was the worst part. 00:31:03 Speaker 1: Yeah, so maybe there you go. That's why I asked that, maybe it is. I don't think Jordan V would have told that. 00:31:11 Speaker 5: Jo would never never. Who do you think got it the hardest at the roast? 00:31:18 Speaker 1: I thought I thought the avon even like mocking you was was that and that's like what everyone should have been doing, like lighthearted, like let's make fun of each other, but let's not like poke at each other's insecurities and fucking get into Yeah. 00:31:37 Speaker 2: No, Aven nailed it. 00:31:40 Speaker 3: So many roast ceremonies and see him do it, I'm like, oh, everything was on point. 00:31:44 Speaker 2: It was amazing. 00:31:46 Speaker 5: That was a good one. That was a good one. 00:31:47 Speaker 1: Okay, Rachel, it's been so great talking about paradise and coming on. Before we let you go, would you like to play a little game? 00:31:55 Speaker 2: Absolutely? 00:31:56 Speaker 1: Okay, rapid fire first and it comes to your head. Okay, okay, what is the first thing you do when you wake up in the morning, drink water. What is your go to rose ceremony. 00:32:06 Speaker 2: Cocktail, champagne. 00:32:09 Speaker 1: What was the first concert you ever attended. 00:32:13 Speaker 2: I think it was the Cheetah Girls. 00:32:19 Speaker 1: It might have been you. I think we've played this. 00:32:20 Speaker 5: Game with you. 00:32:23 Speaker 1: What is your love language physical touch? Do you have any dating deal breakers? 00:32:29 Speaker 2: They have to be nice? 00:32:31 Speaker 1: How many hours of sleep do you need every night? 00:32:34 Speaker 2: Probably seven? 00:32:36 Speaker 1: What is your favorite place in the whole world Italy? If you could only watch one movie on repeat for the rest of your life, what would it be? 00:32:46 Speaker 2: Pride and Prejudice. 00:32:48 Speaker 5: I've never seen that one. 00:32:49 Speaker 2: You so good. 00:32:50 Speaker 5: I know It's all over my Instagram all the time. I need to watch it. 00:32:54 Speaker 1: If you could go on any other reality show, what would it. 00:32:57 Speaker 5: Be The Survivor Survivor? 00:32:59 Speaker 1: You would your survivor. 00:33:00 Speaker 5: She's asive survivor, you. 00:33:02 Speaker 1: Know, like you can't brush your teeth or anything. 00:33:06 Speaker 2: I know, I want to do it so bad to dream. 00:33:09 Speaker 3: I keep talking Jeff Probes on my Instagram and he does it was fun. 00:33:14 Speaker 1: I don't know why I want to go. 00:33:15 Speaker 5: You would be so I would love to see you on Survivors. 00:33:18 Speaker 1: I think I could do Survivor as well. 00:33:21 Speaker 5: I don't think. 00:33:22 Speaker 2: You anyone could do it. It's it's fun. 00:33:26 Speaker 1: Yeah, that would be fun. I'm with you. If you were to write your autobiography, what would it be called? 00:33:35 Speaker 5: So hard I have? I would never want anyone to ask me this. 00:33:39 Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know. Probably something with like planes, some sort of joke. I don't know. 00:33:44 Speaker 4: I like that. 00:33:46 Speaker 5: Watch Rachel take flight. 00:33:49 Speaker 2: Take and fight, take the handle love truly? 00:33:54 Speaker 1: Do you believe in love at first sight?
