Speaker 1: Hey, everyone, welcome back to Bachelor Happy Hour.

00:00:04
Speaker 2: I'm Joe and I'm Serena, and we hope that you had a wonderful Thanksgiving us today if you did celebrate, and we were so excited to be here today to bring you a very special episode. As you know, we didn't have any episodes this week. We took the week off for the holiday, so no recaps, but we do have a treat for you all. We know you all absolutely have fallen in love with the Golden Bachelor and specifically the women we've gotten to know. But what about the women we haven't gotten to know, Well, we have them on here today for a special episode of Happy Hour with some of the wonderful Golden Bachelor women.

00:00:37
Speaker 3: Joe, how are you feeling?

00:00:38
Speaker 1: I mean I feel great. I actually am very excited to talk to these women. How about you?

00:00:43
Speaker 3: I'm excited too. We've got I think five women today.

00:00:46
Speaker 1: Yeah, they were. They unfortunately were not at the Women Tell All. So here's their shot to tell us all, maybe to talk a little bit about Gary, find some more things out. So we're going to get all the drama from these from these women.

00:01:00
Speaker 2: Yes, and behind the scenes on Night one, how they got on the show and just their stories. Overall, I feel like all the women have had such incredible life stories. So we'll be learning about these wonderful five women today.

00:01:13
Speaker 1: You think any of them are currently dating right now?

00:01:16
Speaker 4: Oh?

00:01:16
Speaker 3: I hope so that'd be so fun.

00:01:17
Speaker 1: Yeah, I hope so too. All right, should we just get into it.

00:01:19
Speaker 3: Let's do it?

00:01:20
Speaker 1: Bring our first guest in. All right, everyone, please welcome Sylvia. Sylvia to the podcast. How are you welcome.

00:01:28
Speaker 5: I'm excited to be here. I'm a big fan, and congratulations. I know you're newly wet, so you're still glowing. We'll see what happens in ten years, but you.

00:01:39
Speaker 1: Just ten only give it us ten years.

00:01:42
Speaker 4: To be glowing, to be glowing.

00:01:43
Speaker 1: Okay, all right, that's fair. Okay, So for our listeners, when did you go home?

00:01:50
Speaker 5: Unfortunately? I went home the first night, and I know that you did too, Joe, so you can relate with me. It was heartbreaking, but it was overall a wonderful, transformational experience. So I enjoyed every single minute of it.

00:02:07
Speaker 1: Yeah, I know, I know how it feels to go whole night one? Is it is not?

00:02:11
Speaker 5: Astros?

00:02:13
Speaker 1: Why do you think it is? You just don't think you got enough time with Gary that first night.

00:02:17
Speaker 5: I think it's because, in all honesty, I had an allergic reaction to something I ate the night before, and I didn't sleep all night, and I was extremely tired, and I was in the very last limo, and I was almost the second to the last person to speak to him. I barely had any energy, let alone spark with myself, let alone spark with him and with the other ladies. You know, one of the biggest regrets I have is that I didn't really get to mingle that much with the other women because I was so exhausted. I was kind of just saving my energy and trying to stay awake. I was so tired. So the stars were aligned for me to be on the show, but the stars were not aligned for me to stay on.

00:02:59
Speaker 1: So what did you eat?

00:03:01
Speaker 3: Yeah, those are my question, Like what what did you have an allergic action too?

00:03:05
Speaker 5: I have I'm allergic to citrus and vinegar. So I think it was the salad dressing to the salad that I had and I blow up or sometimes I get hives, and I kind I blew up, and I had, you know, a running, really running nose and I just wasn't able to sleep all night, and as you know, that's the longest night of the whole uh, the whole show. So it just wasn't in the cards for me unfortunately. And usually I'm very talkative, I'm very outgoing. I'm in politics. I can work a room like nobody. But unfortunately, the only thing I was trying to do is stay awake that night.

00:03:40
Speaker 3: Oh that's some seriously bad luck at a time.

00:03:44
Speaker 1: SA Serena has a severe nut allergy, so she can relate to that.

00:03:48
Speaker 3: Yeah, I do.

00:03:50
Speaker 2: And honestly, being up all night because you had an allergic action, it's not just like you're up all night with excitement like you're you're uncomfortable. Your body's recovering the next day. So I just feel like it wasn't meant to be.

00:04:03
Speaker 5: It wasn't a yeah, yeah, it wasn't.

00:04:06
Speaker 1: Sylvia. You just mentioned that you are in politics. What do you do?

00:04:10
Speaker 5: I work in local politics. I worked for elected officials. I'm a media spokesperson. At times I do research and policy or community outreach. And when I'm not working for an elected official, I do government relations in the private or public sector.

00:04:25
Speaker 1: Nice and where do you live?

00:04:27
Speaker 5: I live in Highland Park in Los Angeles.

00:04:29
Speaker 1: Oh nice, nice, So it wasn't that far Ah, No, it wasn't.

00:04:33
Speaker 4: It was.

00:04:33
Speaker 5: It was exciting. I mean, I'm a big fan of the show. I saw it from the first episode. I saw when Trista got married. So I was in the limo. I felt like I was an alien, you know, being I felt like I was abducted by aliens or in the limo watching you know, me and the in the limo and the other ladies and the mansion and Jesse Palmer there's there's a mansion. So it was it was exciting and it was a fun experience.

00:04:59
Speaker 1: So how did you How did you get on the show in the first place.

00:05:03
Speaker 5: Well, my niece told me about it. She nominated me, and then I went through the whole process of the interview process, and as you all know, it's very extensive and everything worked well in that sense. I kept interviewing and going up and moving up and talking to the casting directors and the producers. So it was a fun experience. It took about a year and a half. I think because of COVID they put a halt to it so that that process was fun and exciting. So I'm certainly glad I made it to that Mansion night nice.

00:05:36
Speaker 2: It's so funny because I think I've said this on the podcast before, but I don't know if you know this, Sylvia. I have not ever been to the Mansion because I was a COVID season and Joe and I then obviously to Paradise was at the Mansions. So we're going soon for an event.

00:05:59
Speaker 5: Imagine you spend the night at the Yeah.

00:06:03
Speaker 3: Ever said that a few hours.

00:06:06
Speaker 5: We're all match, but I'm best friend. There we go, we spend a night at the Mansion.

00:06:10
Speaker 3: You can start a club. But I'm excited.

00:06:13
Speaker 2: I'm excited to go see it because everyone describes, especially you know, people like you that are huge fans, lifelong fans of the show.

00:06:19
Speaker 3: Is it just being so magical to be there?

00:06:21
Speaker 5: Yes, it definitely was. It definitely was. And the women were beautiful and they were gracious and they were nice and and I've actually become friends with the women here in La So Edith, Marina and Christine we hang out together. Yesterday I went with the hot with a hike with the Marina and Edith in Eagle Rock, which is she lives like five minutes from my house. We all live really close to each other, so we become fast friends.

00:06:46
Speaker 2: That's amazing. I feel like that's one of the best things to come out of the show. If you don't find love, you are hopefully going to find friendship.

00:06:51
Speaker 5: Yes, and I have. So there's always benefits to life. You have to look at life with optimism and gratitude, dude, And I'm certainly grateful for the opportunity.

00:07:03
Speaker 1: To either of those women tell you you're you're lucky for going home early when you're dead.

00:07:09
Speaker 6: No.

00:07:09
Speaker 5: No, they just said, oh, it was too bad because I wanted to stay longer, And you know, it was just it was just the stars weren't aligned. It was just my destiny. No, they had a great experiences that they had a great experience, both of them.

00:07:21
Speaker 1: Did you know sometimes when people go home like middle of the pack, they're really like, huh, I wish I would have just got eliminated right away.

00:07:27
Speaker 2: Is that what you tell yourself, Joe, because you eliminated right away that story, you guys start spreading that rumor, you know, it's better to go home night one that.

00:07:40
Speaker 5: I wanted to stay on longer.

00:07:42
Speaker 1: I actually think it's almost like it's you're almost better off going home night one.

00:07:48
Speaker 2: I think it depends on your experience, if you have if you get heartbroken.

00:07:53
Speaker 3: Maybe.

00:07:53
Speaker 2: I don't think anyone ever regrets any part of their experience going the show, though, when you go home night one and you go home, you know your heartbroken at the end, because it is such a unique journey, you always end up learning so much.

00:08:05
Speaker 5: It worked out for Joe. I mean, I want to be in Bachelor in pomp Springs whatever they call whatever, then you want I know, I'm saying pomp Springs for the older generator.

00:08:14
Speaker 3: Yeah, that you think you think?

00:08:17
Speaker 1: Do you think they'll you think they'll ever have that?

00:08:20
Speaker 3: I do.

00:08:20
Speaker 5: I think they'll have something. I hope and I'd love to be considered. I mean, I didn't get an opportunity for the whole experience, but I think they will, and I think they should. I think there's a lot of interest in it. What's great about the show?

00:08:34
Speaker 4: For me?

00:08:35
Speaker 5: You know, I've been single all my life. I'm I'm the Bachelor, the real Bachelor rat in the show, and I've always dated, I've always been hopeful, I'm always looking for love, So for me, that was not unique. However, I do feel it was a great opportunity to educate America and the viewers and to see us as sexual people, that it's important for any age to have physical emotional intimacy, that love, companionship is a human need. It's a human trait, just like we drink water, need the sun. Companionship is a very important part of humanity, you know, in the fact people live longer because social networking.

00:09:17
Speaker 1: So I think it was.

00:09:19
Speaker 5: I found it very interesting that people would be were shot that when people were kissing on the show, that it was like they were taken aback, and I thought it was very odd. You know, my parents are still alive by My dad's ninety two, my mom's ninety and they've been married for seventy years. Wow. So I always grew up with a healthy attitude about relationships intimacy, and so I understand that that's just a part of life. And I'm glad that the show was able to enlighten the world and the country about how important to have love and intimacy at any age.

00:10:00
Speaker 1: I love that were you were you actively dating prior to going on?

00:10:05
Speaker 5: Yes? I was yes?

00:10:07
Speaker 1: And how does that look? Are you are you dating on apps?

00:10:10
Speaker 5: Like?

00:10:10
Speaker 1: How are you dating? I have done well.

00:10:13
Speaker 5: Right before the show, I think the three years prior because of COD was the first time I had experienced the dating apps, and I was scared for years about doing it. But you know, my eldest brother had passed away in twenty nineteen, and then, you know, really unexpectedly, and then my one of my good friends died two months after him. I said, you know what, I have to take risk in life, and that's why I also did The Bachelor. I wanted to do things outside my comfort level, so I forced myself to go on the dating apps. And what's good about it is you're able to have a pool of candidates that are your age, but the same experiences. A woman, a twenty year old is experiencing the same things with the man if he's sixty fifty or whatever. I mean, our men, have you ever been ghosted before?

00:11:02
Speaker 6: Oh?

00:11:03
Speaker 5: Yes, I've had everything you know and you know, and in our days it was just called shining you on, you know, or or ignoring you. I mean, in all honesty, I would rather have a guy ghost me than to dumb me. So if really, oh yeah, but guy's not interested in me, so long goodbye.

00:11:21
Speaker 4: I don't need it.

00:11:21
Speaker 5: I don't need him to tell me.

00:11:23
Speaker 3: That's so funny.

00:11:24
Speaker 5: You know, I don't like telling.

00:11:25
Speaker 1: I get that.

00:11:26
Speaker 5: I don't like telling anybody.

00:11:28
Speaker 7: You know.

00:11:28
Speaker 5: I have a whole little speech. Well, it was such a pleasure meeting you. Unfortunately we're not a match, but I wish you the best of like I do the little sandwich.

00:11:36
Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, I like that. One of my girlfriends was actively dating.

00:11:40
Speaker 2: She's now in a very serious relationship, but and she had her little like yeah, she would never go to anyone like if one day, five days, if it didn't work, she had her like little hey, not interested message, and that was that.

00:11:52
Speaker 1: That was that.

00:11:53
Speaker 5: So I don't care about ghosting. It doesn't bother me. If then I just know the person's not interested, and and you know it's time to move on. I don't want anybody who's not interested in me. They're saving me time and energy. You know. I've had those dating dating periods when I was younger, where I was stupid, where you know, where you hang you're into a guy that's not into you, and every time he calls you, you get all excited and think this is it. Oh he can live without me. He's calling me back and that's not the case. He's just he's just bored or who knows why, he just calls you back because he just needs someone to date or be with.

00:12:28
Speaker 2: So that is worse to keep you so funny, like at any age, any generation, like.

00:12:34
Speaker 5: Men do the same then do the same thing. They're just balder with bigger bellies. It ain't pretty serene.

00:12:42
Speaker 3: It's just it's just women did the same thing too.

00:12:45
Speaker 4: You can do it extend.

00:12:53
Speaker 1: If you could give if you could give advice to single people out there who are in the dating world and want to settle down, what advice would you give.

00:13:03
Speaker 5: Well, the best advice I give is the one I give myself. Because I didn't keep my options open. I was closed to opportunities that were good. You know, I should have dated certain men that were interested in me that I didn't give an opportunity. I would do things like even I'm not dating anybody in the San Fernando Valle.

00:13:22
Speaker 4: It's too hot.

00:13:22
Speaker 5: I don't want to drive over there, you know, or you know, when I was brought up in a very strict Catholic family home, you know, for my generation. Unfortunately, and I talked to a little bit earlier about my elder brother dying. But I had a sister that died in my early twenties and then another brother that died in my late twenties. So I spent my twenties grieving. So I didn't really date as much. And then by the time I was thirty, everybody was divorce or married.

00:13:50
Speaker 7: And I was brought up not to marry, not to marry or date a divorce man, you know, a Catholic family, Mexican Catholic family, and so I didn't have very many often and I closed my opportunities.

00:14:02
Speaker 5: Of course, as I got older, I thought differently, but during that time, you know, everybody was married in their twenties. It was pretty it was a pretty unwise decision, but you know, your upbringing and sometimes religion curtails your opportunities. So you have to learn to broaden your your your mind. And that's what those are the mistakes I made that I wasn't open minded and giving people opportunities that I should have.

00:14:29
Speaker 1: Would you go on like so let's say, when you were in your thirties, would you and someone and a guy was divorced, would you instantly write them off? Or would you go on like a few dates and just be like I just I instantly write them off, interesting.

00:14:43
Speaker 5: Instantly writing off, writing them off. Yes, you know it was. Now the Catholic Church has different attitudes about divorce. You know, people even divorce can take communion, and you know, was the point where you couldn't do that. So you know, times have changed, culture has changed. And I really and I so I have friends of mine that would marry someone that was divorced with kids, but I didn't do it. And that was one that was my biggest, biggest mistake. And as I got older than in my forties and fifties and I did start doing that.

00:15:13
Speaker 2: I think that's great advice to just be open minded and not close the door.

00:15:17
Speaker 3: And people. Yeah, I don't know, Joe.

00:15:19
Speaker 2: Joe's different than what I maybe would have ended up with if I didn't.

00:15:25
Speaker 1: I don't know if I.

00:15:28
Speaker 2: Like, we live in different places real like, you know, a bigger age gap. Like there's just that either I too old, oh no, lives too far away, all those.

00:15:39
Speaker 6: Things I'm talking, Yeah, those things, And that's why here I am. But I've had a great life I've had. I'm very independent, I'm financially secure, I have a wonderful social network. I have a large I had six siblings, I still have my parents, I have twelve nieces and nephews, and I do a lot of volunteer work. I raise money for Latino kids to go to college. I'm the first in my family to graduate from college of all my siblings, definitely my nieces and nephew. So I really make a commitment to mentor young people to raise money so that low income people can have the opportunity of a college education. And I've always been dedicated to getting women elected to political office. So you know, my life is varied and my life is fulfilled, and but you know, I decided, like I said, that now is the time that I'm going to concentrate on my personal life and and do things outside my comfort level, push myself, date be open minded, make mistakes, and keep going.

00:16:41
Speaker 5: So that's my attitude. For me to prioritize my love life is something totally new. I've always been a career driven woman and financial you know, I grew up, you know, with not that much economically, and my parents were immigrants, and so he was really important to me. So I always wanted financial security and I didn't want to depend on a man for financial security. I wanted to you know, buy my house and my income properties and do my things on my own. So I have a beautiful beach house and baha, I'd love to be able to share it with someone nice.

00:17:16
Speaker 1: All right there, that's that's your pitch, Sylvia. How old are you? I'm sixty five, Okay, so the sixty five year old Sylvia. What are you looking for right now in a man? How should a man get your attention?

00:17:29
Speaker 5: Well, I'm looking for a partnership. And this is something I was always looking for, which also was difficult for me because I men, we're looking for a wife, and I was looking for a partner. I want, you know, someone you know, to share chores and duties and and I'll also contribute financially. But what I'm looking for is companionship and kindness and respect. Kindness is just so important, and I want someone who treats me kindly, treats other kind other people with kindness. But a partner, you know, I'm not looking for anyone to take care of me. I'm looking for someone that will travel with me, you know, teach me new things. I mean, they don't have to do have the same interests as I do. I like somebody that has different interests and I can learn something new. So I'm looking for someone that has uh, is ready to be a companion, to travel, to treat me with respect, treat me with kindness, and someone that's fun and adventurous so and accepts me for who I am. So okay, those are the things I'm looking for.

00:18:30
Speaker 1: Nice do you would would you say Gary was your type?

00:18:34
Speaker 5: No?

00:18:35
Speaker 1: No? Okay?

00:18:36
Speaker 5: Will you be watching only be I think he's a great guy, and I think he's charming and smart and definitely attractive. But you know, I'm a city.

00:18:47
Speaker 3: Of vallet girl.

00:18:48
Speaker 5: I'm a city woman and I like uh, I like very I have varied interests. I do very things I like. I like access to restaurants and and concerts and have you know. I'm near the mountains, I'm near the beach, I'm near everything. And I like to stay at Los Angeles because it's ethnically diverse. You know, you can eat food and I have friends of all different kinds of cultural backgrounds. So I I this this city is very unique in that it offers that.

00:19:17
Speaker 1: Yeah, I love I love La Okay, real quick? Or will you be watching the finale?

00:19:23
Speaker 5: Oh, yes, I've watched. I've watched all the shows before, and I'm definitely gonna watch the finale.

00:19:28
Speaker 2: Have you watched every single season, like since the show started.

00:19:32
Speaker 5: I'm gonna be honest. I wish I could say yes, but I didn't. I missed the I missed both of your seasons. I missed kind of. I've been seeing it, like the last ones, and I've I've got most of the you know, all the ones, even in the middle, but I've kind of missed like the last quarter.

00:19:49
Speaker 1: Okay, and the before we let you go. The two women left.

00:19:52
Speaker 3: Who you're rooting for, Leslie or Teresa.

00:19:56
Speaker 5: Well, okay, I'm gonna say that I wish that. I think they're excellent choices, and I think that whoever he picks is it does well. However, I have to say that I have a closer bond with Teresa. I got along with her very well that night at the mansion. I've kept in touch with her, and when I was eliminated, she took care of me. She came over to me, she was kind to me. She you know, I wanted to get the hell out of there, and she I kept saying, can I leave now? And she kept saying, no, they have to call your name. No, they have to call your name, and she kept saying.

00:20:29
Speaker 4: Look it.

00:20:29
Speaker 5: There was thirty thousand people that applied. You're one of twenty two. Don't feel me bad. So she was so kind and sweet, and I really remember that, and so I really am rooting for her in terms of her being the choice because of that. And I've contacted her and were friends, so I appreciate her active kindness. And like I said, kindness and extending yourself and friendship is really important. But I think Leslie is fantastic as well. And Gary has has a lot of good choices. So the last two are good choices.

00:21:06
Speaker 1: Thank you so much for coming on Happy Hour. We really really appreciate it.

00:21:10
Speaker 5: Thank you. I'm to big kind of the show. I wish you both love and success and lots of children.

00:21:15
Speaker 1: Thank you. Have a nice one. Bye bye bye, Maria. Welcome to Bachelor Happy Hour. How are you well?

00:21:25
Speaker 4: Thank you? I'm great. I'm happy to be here, Serena.

00:21:29
Speaker 3: I happy to have y ll.

00:21:30
Speaker 4: Thank you, Thank you so pleasure.

00:21:34
Speaker 1: Let's start off. Where where do you live?

00:21:37
Speaker 4: I live in New Jersey.

00:21:38
Speaker 8: Right across the bridge, I can see the George Washington Bridge off.

00:21:41
Speaker 4: In my roof.

00:21:42
Speaker 1: Oh great, and what part of what part of New Jersey?

00:21:46
Speaker 4: What is its Burden County? So that's it's in Teanic.

00:21:51
Speaker 1: Okay, So we're in uh, we live in Manhattan right now. So well, you know how often you come into the city as often as I.

00:22:00
Speaker 8: Can, depending on the episodes of the escapades I'm getting into and the people I'm hanging out with or whatever I'm doing, if I'm going into a play or if I'm going out to dinner, or if I'm just going to meet friends.

00:22:13
Speaker 1: Got it? Nice? Nice? Okay? So how did you get on The Golden Bachelor.

00:22:20
Speaker 8: Oh that's a good question. I am. My sister who is it? A wonderful relationship sent me a link to apply. She said, Ria, you would be great in this show. You would light it up.

00:22:34
Speaker 4: Apply. So I said, okay, I'll apply, and then she said, you.

00:22:38
Speaker 1: Know, I'm gonna stop. I'm gonna stop you right there. Though. Did you watch the show beforehand before you applied or anything?

00:22:45
Speaker 4: No, I hadn't.

00:22:46
Speaker 8: I kind of had seen some shows, but the people just look beautiful and sweet. But it just looked like a show of young people kissing and loving each other and it was fine. But you know, I, you know, I'm kind of a busy woman, so I had a lot to do. I didn't realize how much of a pleasure it was for all kinds of people and how you know, maybe they didn't talk about it to others, or certain groups of people wouldn't talk about it, but was their guilty pleasure or their way to relax, or their way to just explore a whole new way of living. So once I applied and I talked to a producer, I said, let me watch the show. So I started watching the show and I said, oh, this is fun, this is exciting, this is really something.

00:23:27
Speaker 4: I could definitely do this because not for nothing.

00:23:31
Speaker 8: You know, senior people have a lot more life to explore and share with people.

00:23:35
Speaker 1: So yeah, definitely, And I think the show has done a pretty good job of showcasing that. What you mentioned, you are a busy woman. What do you do for a living.

00:23:46
Speaker 8: I have a foundation that focuses on helping families with autism. I have three children, two boys with autism. They're adults and trying to really, you know, create a life that is full of love and an inclusive life and safe you know, a bubble where they can explore who they are and really live happy. That's what any parent wants to do. But when you have children and now young adults on the spectrum.

00:24:17
Speaker 4: You want to you really really have to, you know, figure it out.

00:24:21
Speaker 8: You know, it's not it's not a world that is as accepting as it could be.

00:24:26
Speaker 5: Yeah.

00:24:27
Speaker 1: So yeah, definitely, Well good for you, thank you. Okay, So then, how what it was dating life like before you went on the show.

00:24:39
Speaker 8: Well, you know, I had been married for twenty years and then I was divorced, and then dating was such an episode until I met my last husband, who I fell madly in love with and he was my he was my dude. His name happened to be Gary spelled g.

00:24:53
Speaker 1: A r y yeah and sell it.

00:24:57
Speaker 8: Yeah, So I thought, right, yeah he was.

00:25:01
Speaker 4: He was my heart.

00:25:02
Speaker 8: He was a hip hop attorney, so I got to meet all kinds of exciting people, and you know, it was a different life. And once when he passed, it was very traumatic because it was in pandemic, so dating was not existent. You know, there are different people, you know, trying to.

00:25:17
Speaker 4: See how I was doing.

00:25:18
Speaker 8: But then they wanted to make sure I was okay, maybe take me out that kind of thing, but nothing really started happening until pandemic kind of eased up, and I just got tired of people saying one thing and really being something else. And when my sister sent me the application, and I said, you know, this would really be an exciting opportunity to not only be a part of history, you know, a legendary experience, but in one shot you get exposed to a lot of people as opposed to having to be on dating sites and you know that kind of thing. So it really was appealing to be on Golded Bachelor for so many reasons. I mean, the best thing that can happen. And as I find somebody that I really really vibe with and he was that dude for me, the other side would have been, you know, hey, I could you know, just giving a language, giving a visual to the world that women that you know of a certain age can thrive through all kinds of challenges and really live their best life regardless of where they are in their life, you know. And I think that that that message has been told and should be reinforced because it teaches our daughters how to how to how to how to live their best life.

00:26:35
Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, well, I'm sorry sorry to hear about your husband passing. I do want to ask, though, who's the most exciting person that you've met in hip hop?

00:26:46
Speaker 4: Oh? Wow?

00:26:47
Speaker 8: Who the most exciting? My husband was pretty exciting dude, because he was an attorney and he always had stories. Who is the most exciting person I met on the phone? He was talking to Snoop on the phone once, and he was talking to Drake on the phone once and Setdie Waff once.

00:27:06
Speaker 3: Nice, those are super exciting.

00:27:08
Speaker 1: Whoa whoever?

00:27:12
Speaker 4: I was just known as m Cat.

00:27:13
Speaker 8: I don't know if they'd remember me at all, but you know he was tucking business, you know that kind of thing.

00:27:19
Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, Snoop. Just I just saw Snoop just did a pretty brilliant ad. Yeah, I saw just He.

00:27:27
Speaker 2: Said he was gonna like quit smoking, He's gonna.

00:27:29
Speaker 1: Quit smoking, and he's really promoting like a smokeless uh fire pitters whatever it is. But it was genius. Whoever the agency marketing team behind him, it was genius.

00:27:40
Speaker 3: It was everywhere.

00:27:40
Speaker 2: It was like Snoop Dogg says he's no longer smoking, He's gonna stop smoking.

00:27:45
Speaker 3: And then the ad came out that it.

00:27:48
Speaker 2: Obviously was referring to something different, which is so funny.

00:27:51
Speaker 4: It was huge, it was really well done. I was very excited for him.

00:27:56
Speaker 1: Wow, okay, so let's talk about let's get into Let's get into night one.

00:28:07
Speaker 4: So yes, well that was my night.

00:28:12
Speaker 5: Yeah.

00:28:13
Speaker 8: Fortunately it was you know, you know, getting out of a limo, you know, it was a little wet, it was slippery, and once getting the footing, I was one of the last lemos to come. So it was later and you know, Gary was standing up there looking so handsome and kind of excited, and you know, I walked up over to him, and when I looked at him, I realized, ah, is this I realized what I was really.

00:28:44
Speaker 4: Doing, you know what I mean, It hit me that disasies.

00:28:48
Speaker 8: You know, we're thinking about possibly, you know, having a life with someone and really pursuing.

00:28:54
Speaker 4: Getting to know you, getting to know all that, you know, that kind of thing. And so I was a little taken aback because his name is Gary and the only Gary ALLA ever know is my husband.

00:29:05
Speaker 8: So you know, that exchange wasn't as dramatic as the exchanges that.

00:29:10
Speaker 4: Had passed or that he had earlier.

00:29:13
Speaker 8: But when I got in and I saw the you know, room full of so many beautiful women, everybody.

00:29:19
Speaker 4: Ready to bring their a game, and which.

00:29:22
Speaker 8: Was exciting for me because being in a room full of women like that is something I enjoy and I'm used to. And it was just it was just fun to watch the dynamic. And then then sitting with him and talking with him, I chose to be a little bit more. And because it wasn't as I guess, I don't know, Gary.

00:29:46
Speaker 5: Gary, Gary, Gary, Gary Gary.

00:29:48
Speaker 8: You know, I remember when he got up from our talk, he kind of opened his arms and I just kind of like went like that to him as opposed.

00:29:55
Speaker 4: To maybe later kind of thing. And that wasn't something that worked. Yeah, but you know, it's it's okay.

00:30:03
Speaker 3: Was it odd to date another Gary?

00:30:08
Speaker 4: It was?

00:30:08
Speaker 8: It was strange, yes, and and and you know, from my background in terms of the kind of musical we liked, the kind of life I was living, you know, you know, you know, would he be even exposed to that kind of you know, he was from the Midwest, He lived a really quiet, peaceful life. He was kind and gentle. You know, I didn't want to be a little I mean, we came from extremely two different worlds.

00:30:35
Speaker 4: Yeah, you know, which could.

00:30:36
Speaker 8: Have been exciting to some degree, but I don't know how much it would have been a love connection at all.

00:30:42
Speaker 1: So what's a night out for you? Now? Like if you go out with your girlfriends, what do you guys getting into?

00:30:49
Speaker 4: Oh? Wow, it depends on which team a woman I'm with.

00:30:56
Speaker 1: You know, I hate to let's go with the team that's looking.

00:31:01
Speaker 8: That's that's that's the little fire, you know, because you know, unfortunately I recently lost two of my eighteen women and they were supermodern and all kinds of stuff. So and because that's what happens as we age, we lose people we love. And so, but what a typical night out would be would be getting dressed, having the car come, limo come, and we go into the city and you know, you know you had special entrances because you were with certain people and you know that kind of thing, and then you would just go and have and just party in the back and you know, hang out and.

00:31:38
Speaker 4: Have dinner or you know, you know all night. You know where you.

00:31:42
Speaker 8: Would sit at you know, special tables with people and people sending you, you know, drinks over you know that kind of stuff.

00:31:49
Speaker 3: You know, I want to be on your A team?

00:31:52
Speaker 2: How do I get on this A team? That sounds so fun? So how has dating been after the show?

00:32:01
Speaker 3: Now? Are you dating? Are you looking for love still?

00:32:05
Speaker 4: Oh? I know love will find me.

00:32:08
Speaker 8: And you know, you know, you get interesting characters in your dms and stuff or meeting you in the airport and you know, some people recognizing you or some people just you know, being you know, I mean, I wasn't on the show a long enough time, but there are people that you know, wait a minute, wait a minute, that.

00:32:27
Speaker 4: Kind of thing.

00:32:28
Speaker 8: What's it like? It's still you have to kind of decide, you know, what is it that people want? Do they really want to spend time with you? Are they really campaigning for the ultimate vote? Or they just want a minute, you know, just to just to say they were with you. And right now, I just I trust that if God could bring me the love of my life once, he can bring me new love and something in my life for now to go forward.

00:32:57
Speaker 4: And I know that'll happen.

00:32:59
Speaker 8: And so the best thing that being on the show has done for me has helped me really kind of tune into my vibe even more and appreciate it even more. At this stage, I think I always know I had my own kind of vibe, but now I have it and I'm enjoying it even more, And that in itself is attractive. And most women need to find their vibe and be comfortable with it and not compare it to anybody else, not expect anything from anybody else, just do them honestly and not need approval from anyone.

00:33:30
Speaker 4: And when that happens, look out. Yeah, it gets pretty poppin'.

00:33:37
Speaker 1: Are you Are you close with any of the women from your season? Were you able to make friends with thatone?

00:33:44
Speaker 8: I didn't make any heavy duty friendships or anything like that. It was difficult the person I you know, people were kind of sharing kind of interesting stories.

00:33:55
Speaker 4: But I'm sure maybe down the line, you know.

00:34:00
Speaker 8: We'll run it to each other on maybe social media or somewhere.

00:34:04
Speaker 4: It would be nice to reconnect.

00:34:07
Speaker 1: Have you have you have you been watching the show?

00:34:11
Speaker 4: I sure have.

00:34:13
Speaker 1: Who have you been rooting for any any of the women?

00:34:15
Speaker 9: You've been rooting for Gary to find who he really loves because I think I think, I think the attention and all the trauma that's associated with this outside of the show has been a lot.

00:34:27
Speaker 8: So even outside the show, I'm sure he's getting attention now. So whoever he's you know, in you know, between the last two, I mean, I think he genuinely cares for them deeply. But it'll be interesting to see if it's something that's you know, made in heaven and last forever, or if it, you know, it was just a beginning of something bigger and better than he ever dreamed.

00:34:48
Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, if if they are to do a Golden Bachelorette and they appro.

00:34:57
Speaker 8: Absolutely, I would be line and said I would kill it.

00:35:01
Speaker 3: You would kill it. You would kill it. A feel this interview, I feel confident.

00:35:06
Speaker 8: And and and casting would have to get a whole mixture of men, you know, and I would just rock that show.

00:35:14
Speaker 1: Nice. I love it. I love the confidence. So what what right now, let's hear what you are currently looking for in a man.

00:35:25
Speaker 8: I want a man that is independent in every way possible. I want him to be funny, a really good sense of humor, likes to you know, do a fee push ups every now and then you know, he finds that he needs some you know, health integrity.

00:35:44
Speaker 4: Yeah, and it.

00:35:46
Speaker 8: Doesn't have to be crazy about it, you know, but he has to be on his radar.

00:35:51
Speaker 4: And important to.

00:35:52
Speaker 8: Him, to him, not necessarily anybody else. And he's and he wants to just really really really have a love adventure, you know, go travel, experience things we had we've never experienced before. And at this stage of the game, we might have to get pretty creative, which would require a certain type of personality and intellect and definitely a sense of humor and most of all, you know, really love me.

00:36:20
Speaker 1: M I like that.

00:36:22
Speaker 3: I like that. That's a great answer.

00:36:23
Speaker 1: Do you have like a certain age gap you won't go past?

00:36:30
Speaker 4: I'm not.

00:36:30
Speaker 1: I'm not interested younger. Oh yeah, yeah, I don't.

00:36:34
Speaker 8: I don't really I'm a young golden bachelorette.

00:36:39
Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, I'm not.

00:36:41
Speaker 8: You know, I've been blessed and highly favored, you know, so I don't really have.

00:36:45
Speaker 4: I mean, the only thing I take our vitamins.

00:36:48
Speaker 8: Yeah, yeah, so, and I'm relatively fit, and I enjoy a lot of my friends are at least ten to fifteen years younger, you know, in terms of some of the places I go, things I do. So even though I might walk in the room and say, wow, I know I'm older, everybody else doesn't know that.

00:37:08
Speaker 4: You know.

00:37:08
Speaker 8: Yeah, yeah, So that's that's fine.

00:37:11
Speaker 4: But do I want a man that's definitely.

00:37:16
Speaker 8: Happy with where he is in his life and ready for something really exciting to happen to him in his heart and in his soul, you know. So, so it's if he if he's doing anything, it's it's more on a philanthropic level or doing things that really kind of you know, have the world in mind, you know, make some differences with that. I want him to know who he is, be powerful, and enjoy be powerful and and enjoy having a woman that will support him and be that too.

00:37:47
Speaker 1: Nice. All right, well, I mean that's all sounds lovely.

00:37:50
Speaker 3: Maria.
