You know, I don't usually do a lot of guests, but Jimmy saw the UK basketball team practice Ryan yesterday. Very few people have seen that outside of the inner circle and a handful of former players. He's gonna let us know what to expect. He seemed excited on social media about what he saw.

Speaker 3: And that's good that he's gonna come here because you know, I think Tom Hart told us one time some things that we didn't really know about this team, and I think we'll hear that today. I think he'll probably surprise us with some facts about maybe a guy or the way they're playing that we weren't expecting to hear from him.

I said to this crowd drew before we started, I was like, I want to hear some energy because we're gonna need that tomorrow, and I think they did a good job. But tomorrow at twelve forty five, Kentucky plays Ohio. We're a lot better, but actually they're not awful. So Kentucky is going to have to show up tomorrow.

Speaker 4: They're gonna have to show up, you know, because of the last two weeks. They've put a little pressure on themselves. We're in a lot of cases this is when you just get a win and get out of there. But I think the offense, they don't just need to win. They need to score several touchdowns. They need to get some confidence in themselves, need to find themselves, need to prove to the fans they can do it. But after two weeks of not getting the end zone, I think they need to be in the at least the thirties tomorrow against O High.

So like, if you want to, it's gonna be a while before you see this team play at home and you know Old miss on the road next week than a bye. So actually that's also I think as much of a good reason to do it as any that. I don't know how much you all follow news, but yesterday was one of the weirder news days and I'm I'm bringing all this up, not even really well, not to joke about it, because they're serious situations, but there's a lot happening in this state, and I think we'd be remiss if we don't know what happened down in in Lecher County where a sheriff walked in to the clerks to the excuse mean to the judges chambers in Letcher County and shot dead a judge in Letcher County. You know, it's a it's a very sad situation all the way around. There are a lot of stories around it. I don't really want to get into all of it because I don't know what is and isn't true, but I do know. I had somebody write me last night and say, both of those people, as you would assume a sheriff and a judge, were extremely well known in the community. Everybody knew who they were. And as somebody said to me, Letcher County is absolutely completely torn up today. And I'm sure that's true. I mean, when you see that headline, Ryan, that is an insane headline out of from from eastern Kentucky.

You know, somebody, somebody didn't go home last night, and violence is never the answer, but for it to be two stellars of the community, like apparently the sheriff is like beloved by that community down there. So it's just it's very sad. We need to keep those both those families in your prayers.

Then, uh, there's a story of a representative in Louisville. I don't know if you saw that Shannon, a representative in Louisville State rep allegations that he he's had allegations for a while, and then he got he got like kicked out of a strip club for inappropriate behavior as state rep. And then you also had last night Robert Kennedy, a reporter following Robert Kennedy's campaign, is alleged to have had a romantic relationship with Robert Kennedy. Both of them are married. It feels like to me when I was at home that the world is falling off its axis with weird stories. Like it's almost like a mad Libs headline. Every single day, something stranger continues to happen.

Speaker 5: I went back and watched the full video, a video and another video or two on there, and yeah, what kind of video. Well, he was just explaining, like, you know, everything that happened behind the scenes, and he also what did he say. Well, he was talking about the fact that there was so many media outlets that were trying to reach out and that they felt bad because they couldn't respond to all of them, which I understood.

Speaker 2: Well, I feel bad. They should have They should have been they should have gotten more time in the spotlight. So but with all of that said, probably the story that was to me the most annoying was Louisville football coach Jeff Brown. Yesterday, Jeff Brown was doing an interview on another radio station in which he basically said he was talking about their season last year, and I think he was maybe talking about how close they were to get in the playoff or something. I'm not exactly sure what the what the what the point was, but in the process he said the phrase, you know, and then we played a game here where somehow SEC officials didn't find a way to call any penalties on the other team. Blah blah blah, blah blah blah, essentially whining about the officials. Now, you may remember I said this a couple weeks ago about the debate, and I've said it about many things. When you are complaining about the refs, what did you do? You lost? All right? That's why when we were complaining about the interception call against South against Georgia, whether it was right or wrong, what happened. Shit, we lost. We lost. When you complained about the refs, you lost. But for Jeff Brohm it annoys me even more, Drew, that team, that Louisville team was what ten and one when they came in, am I right about that nine in two or ten nine and two, ten and one, whatever it was. We were a dog on their field. They were up ten points in the fourth quarter, They got I think three turnovers in the game, and they had no penalties. But here's a little secret. We only had three penalties. They only called three on Louisville, and two of them were for people punching us in the face, which weren't as it wasn't even disputed in dispute. So really they only called one penalty in the game. Now, that may be good or that may be bad, but it's not cheating if you call one penalty the whole game on either team, Drew. I thought when Scott Saderfield was gone with his please don't do the hells down, that we were gonna be done with these Louisville coaches whining. And now the new one is already doing it.

We're at Week four of the college football season and he's complaining about sec refs in that game and how Kentucky was got the favorable whistle? Why did you kick it to barry On Brown? Everyone they get there must complain and whine. What really makes them mad is that they can go ten and one this year and yet when we go into that game, yep, we can be four and seven and we still think we're gonna beat him, and we probably will still beat him, and it annoys them. There's not anything they can do that will not make us say, you know what, when we play you in that last game, we are going to be I love it.

But I also would say I think the Kentucky players and coaches have to be like these dudes, We're already in their head. The game hadn't even played.

And this is from someone that likes Louisville but still listens to your show. We do have people that do that, Drew, and I always say, hush now, look, it's the boy who cried Wolf. Okay, when you say you lose every game because of refs, when you actually lose a game because of a bad call, I don't listen to you, right, So I think the twenty seventeen North Carolina game, I'm not gonna say we lost because of John Higgins, but he was a huge part of that game. But you can't say every game because if you do that, no one will ever believe you. If you say everything is rigged, then if something is actually rigged, no one will believe you. So Jeff Brown, they did anyone watch that game and think they lost because it was rigged. No, so when they complain, I have no sympathy for them. Now, if Rick Patina wants to complain because Patrick Sparks walked and they didn't call it, all right, I get that one. But the rest of them I don't understand.

What is the most egregious one that comes out to my mind is the shot clock violation against Wisconsin in twenty fifteen where and another one is the football game down at Florida where the play clock right ran out and they let them, They let them do it and then scored the touchdown. Those are the two because to me, whether or not something's a foul is always a little bit of a judgment call. But if the clock is out and the shot clock goes off and the play clock goes off, that to me is a like black and white situation.

And I assume that's gonna be through the past, but whatever, Like I just, I mean, we cannot just hand it to Demi Sumo Karmbay all year and think we're gonna be by the end. He'll be hurt if you do that by the end of the year. Like, we've got to use those playmakers.

They haven't had the time they will in this game, and Ohio's passing defense has been pretty bad. Week one, they went to Syracuse, that's the most comparable opponent, and their quarterback had three hundred and fifty yards and four touchdowns. So if Syracuse can do it, I don't see any reason why Kentucky can't put up similar numbers.

I also would say, though, this is kind of the world we live in and with and with If you want Kentucky to Basketball to be what you want it to be, this is a one time event they can have that actually can be a really big fundraiser. So I think it's kind of important for the program that it works. Do you think the fans, how do you think it's gonna go. Do they go on set, they've just gone on sale. Do you think we'll end up with this being a very successful event.

If somebody says like, I can't do it, you know, everybody's got a different situation in life, I totally get it. I think I think what I would say is if you're somebody who wants to who thinks like I'm gonna donate to Club Blue, Well, the way this works basically, if you've been coming in Club Blue, you've essentially saved about half the cost. So if you're going to be a Club Blue member this you might as well do this. But the second thing is, you know, if I think you look at it as not everybody can be Joe and Kelly krap right, like, not everybody can have that level, and I mean I can't. But at the same time, you've got other ways to contribute to the program, and UK is essentially given this game. This was used to be part of your season ticket package for people who bought season tickets. They used to have to pay for this game as if it was a regular game. Then it was free for a while. And the thing about free tickets, you learn this in the music industry. Sometimes if you have free tickets, you have no tickets, almost like it's a weird thing. People would rather pay ten dollars than have a free ticket because people won't show up as weird as that don't they don't value it. There's like psychological studies about how it's better to sell a ticket for ten dollars than to give it away for free, because people don't value what's free, and they're like, well, why should I come it's free? This is expensive. But I also think for the basketball program, it's a good one time way to help. I mean, they can raise they were telling me, because some of the seats are premium, they can raise like twenty to twenty five percent of what they need for basketball nil four the year from this event. And that's why I do think it's so important to them.
