00:00:00 Speaker 1: Welcome everyone. It is the Local Toy Dealers KSR postgame show. The Cats take a very difficult loss in overtime to preseason number one Texas in a game that they should have won but did not in overtime sixteen to thirteen. We're gonna goheat. I'm gonna go ahead and open up the lines. I'm gonna give my take on it, and then I do want to take your phone calls. I think this is a game where there's a lot of various emotions that people can have, and I want you to get a chance to express them. I'm just gonna just start with mine. I went to this game. I actually, since COVID, have not gone to a lot of games. Part of that is doing these postgame shows, trying to get out and get home in order to do them, and part of it is I, you know, I don't like to sit in the press box, so I don't I don't end up going to a lot of games, but I went tonight because I just wanted to be in the environment and sort of it had been a while, and you know, I had no expectations for the game. I kind of thought Kentucky would keep it close, but I did not think they would win at any point, and then they did what Kentucky football does to me, which is they got me to believe. Because when the game was tied at thirteen and went to overtime, I thought, you know what I mean, we got the momentum. Their offense is dreadful. We can get. We score a touchdown, I think we win the game. And I do think if we scored a touchdown, we win the game. I think we would have stopped them if we won the game. But we did not, and we'll talk about that in a second, and you get the loss. So I did allow myself to get my hopes up in overtime, and that was the first time in the game I had and it didn't work out. Here's the bottom line about the game. Kentucky was better. Kentucky had double the yards three hundred and ninety five yards to one hundred and seventy six yards. Kentucky had the ball for forty minutes. Texas had the ball for twenty minutes. Just if you just visually watched the game, Kentucky moved the ball up and down the field. Texas had a couple of decently big plays thirty and forty yard games, but otherwise was able to do very little against the Kentucky defense that played really well. And as a side note, not trying to hate on the guy, because I really like the Manning family, but Arch Manning is not good and I have no idea where. I mean, I know where the hype came from, but boy, it looks absurd when you actually see it up close. So Kentucky was the better team, but they lost. And they lost for two reasons. One is relatively simple. Two huge putt returns. I mean, Texas does not get the ball in the end zone if not for that putt return. They kicked it. We kicked it twice to one of the best punt returners in the country. He might be an All American putt returner. We kicked it to him twice. The first time the coverage was bad, second time coverage is good. Guy misses the tackle. I'd have to go back and see who it was because I couldn't see it in real time. But I think the guy thought he was gonna fair catch it and didn't and then just wasn't in position and they missed one tackle and he goes for forty yards. You take those two plays out of the game. Kentucky wins the game. But you have the plays, so you deal with it. And the second thing is those third and fourth and one place and as I was thinking about because I drove back to Louisville, so I was thinking about the the the March Stoops era. And you know, we've talked a lot about last four minutes, the first half, first four minutes, the second half. They actually did alright with that tonight. But one of the consistent problems, in addition to conservative play calling, has been we have been bad at third and fourth and one in the last few years. I don't know if you remember two years ago. I feel like every game there was a major third and one or fourth and one that we just couldn't get. That was the Devon Leary year. I think that was probably the difference between Devin Leary being successful and not was we could not convert third and fourth and ones. And tonight, you know, you have the one in the first half and then you do it in overtime. Let's start with the first half. I don't know what they were doing running quarterback sneak back on back to back place. Texas the strength of their team is their defensive line. Every single guy on their defensive line is going to play in the NFL, and two of the guys are going to be first round picks. And the only area that I think you could say where Kentucky was definitively not as good as Texas tonight was running the ball up the middle. And yet we did five straight plays, two in the first half and then three in the overtime where we tried to do that in situations that it didn't come close to working any of the times. The two quarterback sneaks in the first half were the worst calls of ever seen. I think Bush maybe his angle because I was sitting there looking where the coach's box are. He had to have on third and one, he had to have thought that, excuse me, it was third and two. He had to have thought it was like third and inches, because I don't know what he's doing. On third and two, run and cutter sneak and then they get to fourth in inches and they get stopped. Disaster right there. I mean, I think if you score a touchdown right there might be slightly a different game, but they get past it the overtime. You know, in some ways the overtimes as bad as it can go for Mark Stoops and bush Hamton. You have a twenty two yard play on the first play to kinder Claw that gets you to first and goal from the three. At that point, unless you get a false start, you're going for it. I have no problems, by the way, with Mark going for it on fourth down. Yeah, you could say, well, you kick a field goal, but the thing is they've got a good field goal kicker, so even if they can't get in the end, so they're gonna kick a field going You're gonna be right back to where you were before. When you're first and goal from the three and you're playing a team that was preseason number one on your home field, and you've been criticized as a coach for many years for being too conservative, you've got to go for it. So I have no problems with Mark going for it. He said he had no regrets for going for it. He shouldn't have any regrets. They should have gone for it. It's the play calls. I mean, if you go back and look at the play on fourth down Dante Daldell, he jumped from the four yard line. How did they think that was gonna work. The only place Texas dominated US all game was in the middle of the defense on the line of scrimmage, and we went straight up the middle three straight times. They got I don't want to say they got conservative because they went for it, but the play calling was vanilla right there. And it's a shame because I actually think Bush Hampden called a pretty good game for most of the game. I mean, they were creative. They put Cutter in some good circumstances. I didn't like some of his sweeps and jets. We had like three or four go for loss of yards, but they did a lot of good stuff. I mean they had three hundred. Look, they had three hundred and ninety six yards against the defense that's one of the best defenses in the country. So I can't criticize the play calling in general, but I sure can criticize it at the end. And it's a shame because this is the reality of the situation for everybody involved. None of you feel good about this game. None of you, not one of you feel good about this game. The days in year thirteen, the it's close, we feel good. It just doesn't work, especially with where we are in year thirteen. This I actually think Kentucky played really well. I mean, put the punt, put the punt return coverage aside. I actually think Kentucky played really well. I think that defense played great. They did. I think Brad White owned Steve Sarkisian, who's a really good play caller. I think Brad White did great. I thought Bush Hampden was all right. I thought Mark showed some guts, but you know what, when it mattered, they just didn't make the right decisions. And so part of me says, is this just how it's gonna be like, even when we play well, even when we play well, we just can't do the last thing to get the win. Somebody ran through chat GPT and I don't trust chat GBT on most things, but the stats too good for me to not at least acknowledge it. And I think it has to be close to true, even if you know it's not true. How many games has a team gotten double the yards and had double the time of possession and lost and it said you have like a ninety seven point eight percent winning to do that. Somebody did that. Now. I don't know if that's scientifically true, but I bet it's close to true. You have double the time of possession, you have double the yards, and I think we only had one turnover. There's no reason we should lose that game. And it was there for the taking. It was there for the taking. You had a third and one and a fourth and one in the first half, and a second and three, third and one, fourth and one in the second half, and arcy me in overtime and you couldn't convert. And that's that. And you're not gonna get a better chance than that because Texas offense is so bad. At the end of the day, Mark stoops brand of football is designed to give you a chance to win games like this. This is why we always played Georgia pretty well. Is because we are built to play against teams like this. We are built to play against teams like Texas, and Mark Stoops's coaching philosophy will keep you close in games like this. But then you have if you're if that's gonna be your philosophy, we we're not gonna be able to beat the teams that put up huge yards. I worried Tennessee will crush us next week. If you're gonna play that philosophy when you play a Texas team and you double them yards. You gotta win. You gotta win, and they just didn't. And there's a lot of positives coming out of this game. Cutter Bowley played really well. He made some bad decisions. He took some sacks he shouldn't have taken. But he has improved every game this year. He's gutsy. I like him. I like the kid. You got something there, right. You didn't even really get your best running back, didn't even really get all that many opportunities, and you still did well. You saw some receivers make some plays. You know, there's a lot of good stuff. But when it came down to it, first and goal from the three four plays at it, you gotta score. If we score a testdown, we win. They're not gonna score it. Arch May was awful. They had eight first downs, folks. Eight. If I told you before the game, you're playing Texas, They're only gonna have eight first downs, you gotta win. We have twenty six. We had twenty six first downs, they had eight, and we lost. So where does that leave us? Well, I mean, you can't say that this game proves that Stoops can't coach, because clearly he can. He had this team prepared when a lot of people it would have been easy for this to be over two weeks since you last played, the fan base, including local media like myself, basically given up on the season. You could have lost the locker room, you could have lost the coaching staff, and they came out and they played really well. You also have to say that much maligned coordinators, I actually thought I had a pretty good game plan, and I will say the players play their hearts out the entire game, but in the end, you lost. And in the end, I guess. And this is what I'm interested to hear what the fans say A five nine, two eighty seven. Does anybody come out of that game feeling more confident about the Stoops era than before? I think it was proven for people that say Stoops is awful, I think they're wrong. But if your opinion was what I think a majority of the opinion of the fan base was, which is this program needs to go in a good different direction, is there anything that just happened that would change your mind about that? I think the answer is probably no. Unfortunately, I think the answer is probably know. And this was a good chance. This was a chance to get one. This was a chance. I mean, Auburn may fire Hugh Freeze tomorrow. You know, this was a chance to maybe go into that Auburn Louisville thing and go who knows, maybe, and he just couldn't do it. And hate it. I hate it for the players. It's a great environment there tonight. The fans showed up. Our bar was dominating the pregame by Texas people, but at the game there were a lot of Texas fans, but the Kentucky fans controlled the crowd and it was a good environment, especially the longer it went. And just can't do it. So I worry that even though overall this was a positive performance, it was another disappointing ending. It was another sign of frustrations that have plagued the Stoops era. Poor play calling down the stretch, special teams, mental errors. And I think we come out of it, unfortunately, right back where we were before eight five, nine, twenty two eighty seven. I'm interested to hear what you think. By the way, I am still livid about the call that where they called the false start when we they had thirteen guys on the field that didn't cost us ridiculous, but it is annoying they had thirteen guys on the field. We didn't do one thing wrong that and we get the penalty. I mean, come on, but that's not what causes the game. What causes the game is first and goal from the three, and you can't get in. So if I'm nine two eight oh twenty two eighty seven, we'll take your phone calls and be right back. It is the Local Toy Dealers KSR postgame Show. Welcome back. It is the Local Toy Dealers KSR postgame Show. Let's go for a couple of texts here from the text machine, which is seven to seven two seven seven four five two five four. One person writes, Matt, what about the environment You said you haven't been in a while. Did you think the music and sound is better? Music better choices, Sound is still not great. I noticed they had speakers on the field, Billy, which I've never seen before. I don't know if they've been doing that all year or not. So it was it felt like it was a little better, but we still have like an old speaker system that isn't great. But I thought the fans were I give the fans a lot of credit. I didn't know it was kind of worried. When I was at the bar earlier, I was like, is it gonna be all Texas fans in there? And there were a lot of Texas fans, but there were a lot of Kentucky fans too, and they were loud, so I thought the fans were good. The fans gave Kentucky a chance to win, so you know, it kind of is what it is. One person writes, Matt, what about Mark Stoops in the postgame show and in the press conference, he sounded like someone who knows the fate that is coming. I didn't hear that, Billy, because I was listening to something else. What did it sound like. 00:15:48 Speaker 2: I mean, he was disappointed, as you would expect, but I don't know if he had resigned himself to being fired at this point. I mean there's a lot of I don't think you. 00:15:57 Speaker 1: Could say he would be fine. I mean, I'm sure, yeah, I don't think that's I think what's a bigger deal for him is how he he knows what the fans feel, you know what I mean. I don't think it's so much he's worried about what Mitch does. I think he knows how the fans feel. Well person goes Matt. Before we talked too much about Kentucky, can we just talk about how bad arch Manning is? 00:16:18 Speaker 2: Really bad? Miss time. 00:16:20 Speaker 1: I don't understand. I really don't, because here's what this does. Here's what arch Manning does for me, and maybe the kid will get good in the end. I got nothing against the Mannings. I really like Peyton and Eli. He's not good. And I have two two thoughts. One these NFL draft mock drafts a year before the season, Billy, they're just worthless. 00:16:46 Speaker 2: Right, Yeah, it's just talking like. 00:16:48 Speaker 1: They're just worthless. I will say Todd mcshay's been saying all year he wouldn't like even before the season started, he was like, I don't know a lot of people have arch Maning number one, so I give him. I mean Todd mcshaye didn't say that, but they're worthless. He was number one one in every mock draft and he's is he the worst quarterback we've played this year? Feels like it. I mean, he's not good. He missed open throat, like I don't get it. And then second, Paul Finebaum said he was the best player of all time, say was the best college player since Tiba, Like have you where did that come from? Like I said all summer on my show with Myron, if he was so good, why didn't he play in front of Quinn yours? But I had no idea. It was like this. I kind of feel sorry for the kid. I do. I mean, I feel sorry for him. Put his name into Twitter during the game. My goodness, poor somebody's poor kid. But I cannot believe how bad he is. So I don't know, but it just goes to show mock drafts at least before the season's over. I don't know how how helpful they are. All Right, who's up first? 00:18:04 Speaker 2: Matt is up first? 00:18:05 Speaker 1: Mat, go ahead? 00:18:06 Speaker 3: Math, Yeah, Matt, I agree with you. I think the offense looked a lot better tonight, but still just the critical mistakes and the critical moments of the game. It's just we're frustrating more heartbreak for as a Kentucky fan. And I still don't understand, like how halfway through the year our offense is still looks confused. I don't understand that. 00:18:26 Speaker 1: Like situations they did, I mean I thought in general they did so like the first ten or fifteen plays, we always script those, we look so good. Same thing in the second half. By the way, when you the plays we script looks so good and then we get into these unique situations where it's not scripted, and then sometimes we look completely lost. 00:18:51 Speaker 3: Yeah, but I think it might be a blessing in his guys, because Barnhart probably would have given stoops of extension if Illulu we won tonight. 00:18:58 Speaker 1: Sopreciate it. I appreciate the call. It would be interesting to see what would have happened. I mean, they wouldn't given you an extension, but if they won, Deny, you know, I don't know what it means for the rest of the year. But I just I don't know that this helped him at all. Even though we played I think we played really well. I don't know that it helps because of how it ended. I really don't. Who's next? 00:19:22 Speaker 2: Justin? 00:19:23 Speaker 1: Justin? Go ahead, Justin, Hey. 00:19:26 Speaker 4: Man, how's it going. Appreciate you taking the call. I just wanted to want to talk about something that I experienced at the game tonight, and it was it was kind of one of the most unprofessional things I'd seen from a UK staff. So you guys know, at the end of the half and the end of the regulation, there was like sixteen fit fourteen seconds left, we didn't kick the field goal. I saw a staying we kind of sitting near the end of the end zone, a fan kind of yell and saying, hey, why don't we go for it? Why don't we take a shot here? When we kicked the field goal with like sixteen seconds left at the end of the end of regulation, right Mitch walked over to him basically shoved, shoved his fingers his face, told him to shut up, and went back underneath the goalpost. Then they kicked the field goal, and he like kind of charged this van and was like, shove it, shove it to him, And I was I just like, I've never seen an athletic director interact with a fan in that way. 00:20:18 Speaker 1: I mean, you're a I mean, I just want to be clear, and I can't. Obviously I was not there, so I can't say yeah, exactly, yeah, but you're saying you saw. 00:20:25 Speaker 4: That absolutely yeah. And actually one of my buddies, because we couldn't believe it happened, one of my buddies saw on Twitter like an ESPN video and you can see like Mitch as the field goal is going through the uprights, him kind of like start walking and fist pumping at the fan, right, And I was I was like kind of astounded. I was like, you know, he might not agree, right, I know, like this is a legacy contract for him with Stoops. Right, we all have our opinions on whether or not Stoops is the right fit after thirteen years, If maybe it's time for him to go, maybe it's not. I kind of lean somewhere in the middle. But yeah, I was very shocked to see Mitch interact with a sand that way. 00:21:01 Speaker 1: Right. 00:21:02 Speaker 4: Fans spent a lot of money to go to these games, and I think that fan had a right to express his opinion about you know what he thought we should have been going. You know, you even alluded to the conservative play call towards the end of the games, and that's interesting. 00:21:18 Speaker 1: I appreciate you telling me this. To telling that story, I appreciate the call. I'll have to look at the video to see the thing about Mitch. I could see it, you know, for all the button, the top button, he can get pretty worked up. Yelling at fans is almost always a bad idea, though, if you're a coach or a player or an a d SO. But of course I can't I didn't see it, so I'm just taking off what what what he said? Let me on those things about the end of the first half and the end of the second half, I don't think they should have run another play on either of those. You did not have a time out. Cutter had taken like three or four bad sacks in the game. You could not risk him screwing that up. So I don't think they should have run another play at the end of the first half or the second half. I mean, honestly, what do you hopeing happens? You can really only throw it to the end zone because if you throw it short, you might not get down in time to stop the clock. But I do have a complaint. It's not about not running the play. It's Billy, why are you not running the clock down? So it's the last play of the half, right, It didn't end up hurting him in either case. First time Texas kneeled. Second time, same thing, but it could have could have. So, like, that's a little basic thing, but it's illustrative of what frustrates me. You're gonna call your final time out, there's fifteen seconds left. Just wait till there's four seconds left, and then the game will end. Why are you doing it with fifteen seconds left? You give them a chance to the hill, Mary to throw a quick out and then get out of bounds kick a long field goal. I just it didn't matter. But it's just an example of the little things that drive me crazy that we sometimes do. What's next? Patrick Patrick? Go ahead? Patrick? 00:23:13 Speaker 5: Hey, Matt, first time caller? Who so on that last drive before I get into my point real quick, on that last drive, Texas was really only bringing three on the blitz. So I think taking a shot with fifteen seconds as long as Cutter throws it to the end zone. I mean, I think it's at least worth the risk. 00:23:30 Speaker 1: But what if you get it picked off? I mean, when you say just throw it to the end zone, what if you get it picked off? 00:23:37 Speaker 5: I mean that's true, But I guess you know where we're at as Kentucky fans. You know, it's one of those things. It's like we might as well do it, you know. 00:23:45 Speaker 1: Well, but he had a fifty two. He had what a fifty two yard field goal? He's a pretty good kicker. I think he's only missed one in his career before tonight. I think I'm fine with it. I mean, I understand the other case, but I'm fine with it. Like I it's I don't know how many coaches would throw one to the end zone right there now if you had one time out, maybe you're right, but you had no time out. So let's say you catch it at the five yard line. The clock might just run out, you know. And if you take a sack, Yeah, done, you take a sack, Like, think about it, You're you're you're forty yards away to give your receiver time to get to the end zone, you might end up taking a sack. 00:24:28 Speaker 5: But my point was that they were only rushing three on that drive. 00:24:31 Speaker 1: Well, that's true, you did, so you did say. 00:24:33 Speaker 5: We would have at least maybe had a chance. I see where you're coming from. But another thing on one real quick was just I think the frustrating things for us as fans is that, you know, games like tonight, we know that we're so close, you know, and it's just so frustrating to be right there and know that we can be competitive, and then to just know, like, are we stuck in this stoops contract? 00:24:57 Speaker 1: You know? 00:24:57 Speaker 5: So that's all I had to thank for that. 00:24:58 Speaker 1: Yeah, I appreciate to call I mean, we you know, it would be unfair to say we haven't won some of these games. We have. We beat Old Miss last year. But you know it doesn't matter to me what we've done in the past. In some ways, this is about now in the future, And I just don't know that anything tonight changed anything when it could have. I mean, if they had only won tonight and then didn't win again the rest of the year, that wouldn't have changed anything. But you know this would have been you could have not Here's the thing. We win that game, Billy Texas is out of the playoff. Yeah, and the arch like arch Manning. You know, I get a thing from my ESPREM producers about what we're going to talk about tomorrow morning because we lead off with college football. We had in our thing. If Kentucky won, we have to talk about arch Banning, right m h. So like we could have been a national story. Instead it's just another frustrating Kentucky loss. 00:25:54 Speaker 2: Well quickly about the future, I mean, if we learned anything. Cutter Bully is the guy. 00:25:57 Speaker 1: I mean he certainly, yes, he certainly is. Now. You know, we'll see what happens with the way the but he was great tonight he was except except for a few of those a couple of those sacks, but you know what that some of that's just having This is only what's fifth or sick games. 00:26:12 Speaker 2: Bad interception too, He should have thrown it. 00:26:14 Speaker 1: That interception though, was bad, but it did it didn't. I mean, they ended up getting no points from it, So I didn't hate that one. It was a bad throw, but he was trying to make something happen. Who's next, Wade, Wade, go ahead. 00:26:25 Speaker 6: Wade, Hey, Matt. 00:26:28 Speaker 7: I think Mark Dukes hates all of us, like the way that he just tortures us in these kind of games. It just feels on purpose. At this point, I'm just so tired of At the beginning of today, I had no hope, and I honestly kind of wanted us to lose, to just get this season over with and maybe we can move on for the future. 00:26:48 Speaker 6: Fire him. 00:26:49 Speaker 7: But by the end of the game, I was my heart was all in, and of course it gets taken away in the worst way through a terrible game to watch. It wasn't fun, and I had my heart ripped out right at the end. And it feels like he's done that several times at least once a year he does that, and I'm just convinced that he hates me at this point. 00:27:09 Speaker 1: Well, I don't think he hates you, but I get what you're saying. They get you in just enough to believe, right, just enough to believe. And that's and that because I did not believe until he made the kick to go to overtime. I didn't, I really didn't. I was like, well, we're gonna lose, and then I did. Yeah, and then I get it knocked out. 00:27:31 Speaker 7: Yeah, I agree. And I have to disagree with something you said earlier this week when a fan called in and talked about nil and taking that away from Stoops. I mean, we have no leverage in this contract situation here, and us paying all this money for three wins a season just seems ridiculous when we could be paying it to something like baseball or softball or volleyball and having an amazing season. I mean, if he's gonna make us miserable, then I feel like the only way we can get out of this is if we make him miserable and go have a better sport year for something else. Give it to anything else basketball, Give us a forty million dollar basketball in Il. 00:28:10 Speaker 1: Yeah, well, I don't. I appreciate the call. I don't think I don't think. What I think is unique is I think there are people who think that Mark stoops like wants to hold the program hostage. I actually don't think that's true. I think when you hear his comments, he knows what the fans think, and I think it hurts him. Part of what makes me sad about this is if we go down this path, I know what I'm gonna end up saying on one of these shows, right, I mean I'm not I know what I'm gonna have to say at the end of the year if it stays like this. And the thing is he knows that's how fans feel, and it bothers me. Whereas with Caliperry. Cali Perry was the opposite. Cali Perry was like, I'm gonna do it to show the fans, like stick it to the fans. That's not how Mark feels. It hurts Mark that the fans feel the way they do. And that makes me sad because like he wants to be loved by the fans. So part of the reason I kind of think this is gonna end the way I think it's gonna end is I think he's gonna want it too too, unless something changes. And we can't completely throw that away because we almost won to night Billy, you know what I mean? We almost won? 00:29:33 Speaker 2: Yeah, and goes back to that Coller's point if they would have just gotten blown out and lost and. 00:29:38 Speaker 1: Oh listen, it was ten to three. I thought what was gonna happen was we were gonna go three and out and then they were gonna score a touchdown. It was gonna be seventeen to three, which was exactly what I thought the score would be before the game. And I was like, well, this is this is you know, we scored three points is terrible. And then we did just enough to break all our hearts. Yeah, who's next, Ethan? Go ahead, Ethan? 00:30:00 Speaker 8: Hey Matt, how's it going? 00:30:02 Speaker 1: What's up? 00:30:04 Speaker 9: Look there, I know we can't get out of the whole Stoops contract situation, but there is absolutely no reason as to why Bush Hampden has a job Monday morning. There has got to be an offensive analyst on this offensive anything on this staff that knows how to get. 00:30:23 Speaker 1: Oh okay, so I understand where you're coming from on that, but let me let me just play Devil's after can and see your thoughts, because I think the calls on second, third, and fourth down are indefensible, especially when paired with the plays in the first half on the third and one and fourth one. With that said, he also went for three hundred and ninety six yards against one of the best defenses in the country. Does that mean something? 00:30:51 Speaker 9: I agree, But nobody's gonna remember that. 00:30:55 Speaker 1: You're out like, you're right, you're right about like. 00:30:58 Speaker 9: It doesn't matter. It would have mattered if we had won the game, and we had because they were not like you said earlier, they were not scoring when they got the ball back. If we have scored right there, he had four plays to score from the three yard line and overtime and he couldn't make it happen. It was three runs up the middle. 00:31:14 Speaker 1: It's just ridiculous and that will probably be and I appreciate the call. Whether Mark Stoops comes back or not, it is almost certainly the case push him and will not be the offensive coordinator next year. And to the extent there was doubt left in that it probably ended on those four plays. No matter what they end up doing the rest of it, I don't think you can probably. I don't think you can let him go Sunday because you're playing Tennessee Saturday and you're gonna have to score a lot of points if you're gonna have a chance. And I don't know that putting a new guy in there is gonna make that happen. But yeah, I mean him coming back probably ended with those plays at the end of the first at the end or overtime, because you're because they would not have scored. Texas was done done. They were, they were done done. If it wasn't for those Puver returns. They have no offense basically, so and who would have ever thought arts me? I mean that it's so crazy to me how bad they are offensively. One more and we'll take a break. Who's next? 00:32:16 Speaker 2: Bed Bug? 00:32:17 Speaker 1: Bed Bug? How are you? 00:32:20 Speaker 10: Hey? 00:32:20 Speaker 11: What's going on? 00:32:21 Speaker 12: Matt and Billy? 00:32:22 Speaker 1: What's up? Nay? 00:32:24 Speaker 11: Well? 00:32:25 Speaker 12: Uh, before I started, I just didn't say the players played their But I mean, I'm really impressed how they played. They they tried everything they could to win the game. They really did try, right, Yes, But all right, So I'm forty two and washing the cat since what I'm I was eight where I could actually remember and uh, I'm not saying that I wanted I't rooting for them to lose the game. But at the same time, but don't get me wrong, I want to do them to win, But at the same time, I'm like, man, if if they win this game, then there's a chance that that stoops comes back. 00:33:16 Speaker 1: Well, yeah, I mean, I know what you're saying, but like, you still have to be you still have to want to win, right, Like I mean, I don't know if you ever get to the point where you're rooting against your own team incentives and I'm not, you. 00:33:34 Speaker 12: Know, no, and that that's that's how I was trying to explain it to my fiance. I was like, I was like, I want them. 00:33:43 Speaker 10: It's so it's so hard. 00:33:46 Speaker 12: Because I want them to win. I can't. I can't steem lose. I can't. I don't want them to lose. But I don't want this guy to come back because it's the same thing every single year, you know what I mean. 00:34:04 Speaker 1: Yeah, No, I get it. I get what you're saying, and I appreciate the call. You're not saying you want them to lose at the same time, you want a definitive resolution, and in your case, that definitive resolution is it sounds like you want to coach and Jay. That's what Drew and I have said all year, five and seven would be the worst record you could have. But it's looking less and less like we're gonna get five and seven. But if you had won tonight, you know, Auburn, I think Auburn might fire you freeze tomorrow, So you don't know what's gonna happen there. And then well, I mean, Vandy's really good, so I don't know that that looks different than it did early year. But Louisville, I know Louisville beat Miami, but I actually think if we don't if we haven't quit, I actually think that game can be very competitive. But but you didn't win. So if I'm nine two eight oh twenty two eighty seven, we'll take a break, take more calls, be right back. Local Toy Dealers KSR Post Game Show, Welcome back. It is the Local Toy Dealers KSR Postgame Show. So somebody tagged Billy and I in a video of the kick, and Mitch Barnhardt is definitely pointed somebody. Definitely, He's definitely pointed somebody. Now that doesn't mean that doesn't mean that it was what that guy said, but he's definitely pointed somebody, Billy. I think that's fair to say, Yeah, that was, and he's pumping his fist, so you know, certainly plausible what that guy says. 00:35:35 Speaker 2: Ads get frustrated too. Maybe that's something that happened. 00:35:38 Speaker 1: You had something, what was it? 00:35:39 Speaker 2: Yeah, we gotta talk about Seth mcgawan for a second, because at one point of the game he was wearing a gold watch on his wrist while he was playing. Yeah, and then we've. 00:35:48 Speaker 1: Done that before, though we had a guy do that. I can't remember. I think when we beat Floyd down the Road for the first time in like twenty eighteen, there was a guy somebody, maybe it was Juice Johnson, somebody made a big play that was wearing to watch. That's not the first time I've seen that. 00:36:02 Speaker 2: But we go ahead, okay, and then McGowan had to leave. He had a shoulder injury. They took him to the hospital, I believe. 00:36:09 Speaker 1: Is that true. 00:36:10 Speaker 2: He then came back and then entered the game again. 00:36:12 Speaker 1: Yes, did they say that on the broadcast? Yes? 00:36:15 Speaker 2: He actually exited the stadium from the other end, which is where the ambulance. Usually is he was taken to the UK Healthcare and then came back he was supposed to get. 00:36:23 Speaker 1: I believe you. But is that a billy source or is it someone say. 00:36:27 Speaker 2: That that was the radio and TV brunch? 00:36:29 Speaker 1: Okay, so okay, see I didn't hear any of the broadcasts. Okay, Well that's crazy, and that would have been a legendary thing if we won, right because he came back in the game. 00:36:36 Speaker 2: Yeah, came back into the game. So that's incredible from him. If that's true, that is incredible. 00:36:42 Speaker 1: That's got to be the most famous leaving the stadium go to the hospital since t Bow when Taylor Wrindham hit him in two thousand and seven or whatever that year that was two eighty seven. Who's up next, Enrique? En Rik Arek? 00:36:59 Speaker 4: Good? 00:36:59 Speaker 1: How are you good? 00:37:02 Speaker 13: So my my opening point is like the opening drive, I feel like we should have scored there. 00:37:07 Speaker 1: We should have, But. 00:37:10 Speaker 13: I mean third and two and you run a quarterback sneak. 00:37:13 Speaker 1: Even I have to I would be interested if somebody should say, I think Bush Hampden had to have thought it was third and inches, because I don't think you run that on third and two. He you gotta remember where they're seated. Maybe there was an angle thing they were trying to go quick. I don't know, but like for me, that makes no sense. A quarterback sneak third and two. By the way, I thought they got a bad spot on that too. You know that's supposed to be where you start sliding. I think he started sliding just short of the line. I thought they got a bad spot on the on the play before, but go ahead. 00:37:49 Speaker 13: I just thought that was a pronouncing way. I thought we should have scored there, you know, regardless, I think, you know, pressure or whatever, take the three points. 00:37:58 Speaker 4: But it was close. 00:38:01 Speaker 1: I didn't mind them going for it. I just wish they had a better prep. 00:38:05 Speaker 13: But yeah, yeah, So, I honestly I think that Mark Stoops is the best. Cause I'm thirty two years old. Mark Stoops is the best coach I've seen at Kentucky by far. I don't think it's Stoops. I think, you know, it could here and there. We should have won this game by far. 00:38:27 Speaker 1: But so do you Let do you feel Let's say the team fins, Let's say the team wins one game. Let's say they go win that Auburn. They finished four and eight would you want another year of stoops? 00:38:42 Speaker 13: I believe in stoops. 00:38:43 Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, all right, we'll go all right. Appreciate the call. Nice to hear the uh the other opinions, One person writes, Matt, do you think that's the most road fans of any team we've had? Uh? No, Tennessee has had times for they have more people because they're so close. But it was a lot for a team that's coming from that far. It was a lot. LSU when they came here last time had a lot, but this was up there. I mean, there were a lot of Texas fans there. They were oddly though, Billy not into it. They were not loud at the game and what like at my bar. They were like there, but they were, like I said, they all looked like and I say this is a compliment actually because they were all very nice, but they all looked like members of George HW Bush's Republican Party. Okay, but you know what I'm saying, Like they all were wearing like button up polos, brown polos and khaki shorts. And you know they had that like swoopy haircut, you know what I'm talking about, Like that like that's what they end they all were like, couldn't have been nicer, and they were all like gentlemen and like ladies. And I heard they tipped really well, So I'm pro Texas fans. They just but they were not very energetic for a group of people that came in mass this far. 00:40:13 Speaker 2: I think they just must know about Arch, you know. 00:40:16 Speaker 1: I'd be interested to say, I'd be interesting to see what they think of Arch because they can't think he's good. 00:40:19 Speaker 2: Right, they would have lost this game. I mean it would have been. 00:40:23 Speaker 1: It would have been bad for him. Yeah, who's next, Kevin? Kevin? Go ahead, Kevin. 00:40:28 Speaker 14: Hey, Matt, you cannot compound of this call anymore what you just said. Anyway, let me preface this first up thirteenth Region from Cumberland, and uh, I had the greatest thing of backing up Freddie Wayne for our entire high school life. And he's my dog and I love him. 00:40:50 Speaker 1: And he's awesome. 00:40:53 Speaker 14: Yeah, I know, I love him. And that's what I call it. 00:40:57 Speaker 11: At my house tonight, we just got home and. 00:41:01 Speaker 6: We're not mad. I mean, I think it's apathy and and. 00:41:06 Speaker 8: And it's scary too when. 00:41:09 Speaker 1: It did it like did it? 00:41:11 Speaker 15: Like? 00:41:12 Speaker 1: Because apathy is I don't care whether we win or not. Did you feel apathy or. 00:41:18 Speaker 6: Were you just like you know, I knew knew what was going to happen. Yeah, absolutely, when when when the debacle before halftime happened, looked at my wife and I said, you know, let's let's anyway. But uh, this is not my call. I'm my My day has been full. I mean it's a wonderful day. And uh get to call in and talk about Freddie, Wayne and well and. 00:41:50 Speaker 1: Yeah we Ryan and Drew just saw Freddy a few days ago and he he always says to give the message that he loves the fans. And uh, I just say, everybody, you know, say prayer for fred He has good days, he has bad days. 00:42:06 Speaker 14: You bet you never had anybody on the call that Freddy wanted the backup for four years. 00:42:11 Speaker 1: I have not. I appreciate the call man, thank you very much. Uh, but everybody say, uh, you know, keep Freddy your thoughts. He's a he loves this place. When they went and saw him, all he wanted to talk about was Kentucky football. So uh, he's a he's he's a great man. And uh, yeah, who's up next? 00:42:33 Speaker 2: Nate is up next? 00:42:34 Speaker 16: Nate go ahead and Nate, yeah, man, there's let me run throw some stats at you, and like the other caller, I kind of I mean really setting an apathy. I know you're you're giving a both sides scenario on that third and two QB sneake, but that's just absolutely like ridiculous. 00:42:54 Speaker 1: Oh, I have both sides. That was a terrible call. I mean, I'm not both sides. And I'm just trying to explain why he did it because if he if he didn't think it was third and inches, then it might be the worst call I've ever seen. 00:43:06 Speaker 16: Absolutely, And in Power four games, Bush has only scored two touchdowns in one game. We've only won two SEC games at Kroger Field since November of twenty twenty one. 00:43:20 Speaker 1: I want you to skip over the first one. In Power four games against Power four teams, we have only scored in thirteen of those games. We have only scored more than one touchdown once and we've never scored more than two. That's why you would have to make a change if no other stat was correct. 00:43:46 Speaker 16: Well, yeah, especially at the headshed. And the only time we finished the middle or top half of the SEC is when we had a head football coach in the United States Football League or the you know, National Football League. Roman on our sidelines. It's ridiculous. And all the programs surrounding us are getting better Indiana, Vanderbilt, Louisville. Meanwhile, we're sitting here wondering how the hell we can't get in the end zone when we're running, you know, have three hundred and ninety five yards total offense. It's just ridiculous. Man. 00:44:14 Speaker 1: You still gotta go appreciate the call. I listen. The Vanderbilt, Indiana, Louisville part of it is a huge part of it. There's no doubt. I mean, the last eight days have been about as bad as it could be in that respect. When you have Indiana go win at Oregon, Louisville wins at Miami, and Vandy beats LUSU at home to go six and one. You know, when you're the person, and I was this person for many years who says you can't win here, you can't this, you can't that, I don't think that's true anymore. In the Anile era and in the Portal era, and Vandy, especially Vandy and Indiana showcase that louis this different situation you're in the ACC that's a different thing. If they need Indian are playing in big conferences and they're getting it done. Let's do one more and we'll take our final break. Who's next, Nathan, Nathan? Go ahead, Nathan. 00:45:10 Speaker 17: Hey Man, this is a first time call. 00:45:12 Speaker 1: Who are. 00:45:14 Speaker 17: I think my I was just talking thinking like a lot of my frustrations have been just with the coaching. Like they I agree, they actually had a decent game pan tonight, but like like a lot of callers that said, have you have said, it's in those big moments that it's let us down? And I think that's where I from myself. It's been very, very frustrating to see where it's like you can kind of like the players play a great game, but then you know in those big moments that you can't trust the coaching to get us through that. 00:45:46 Speaker 1: Totally agree with you. Totally agree with you, Mark Stoops from moment one. There are three Freddy Mager once said there are three phases of coaching. There's uh like motivation, there's preparation, and then there's endgame, right motivation. Mark's like ninety percent successful. Was there would have been a time I said, Marks, guys always show up they kind of quit at the end of last year, and that was the first time that had happened. But they came out tonight and played. Mark's great at motivation. I actually think they're pretty good at preparation over the years that I think the game plan tonight was great. They just put the shackles on Tennis or on Texas's offense, and we actually had a pretty good game plan, I think on our offense. So I wouldn't say he's one hundred percent good at preparation, but a lot of times we are, and I think more often than not endgame coaching, specifically the stuff that is literally in the moment you have to figure it out and go X and go A or B based on what's just happened, and you have twenty seconds to figure it out. We've always been awful at it, and I hate to say that, but it's a fact. We've been bad at time management from moment one and it's really never gotten better. And I know it's a little thing, but the fact that we didn't let the last play of the first half and the last play of the second half be our kicks and we left time on the clock is an example of what I'm talking about it didn't matter, But it's a it's not understanding moments and we've been bad at it and they are bad at it, and I'm they're never gonna get better at it. They've had thirteen years. They've never been good at it. They've never been good at the end of the moment, you have to decide something and you have to use the logic of what's just happened to figure out what you're gonna do next. They're awful at it, and they've always been aful at it, and that's very frustrated. 00:47:51 Speaker 17: Yeah, I guess where where's that for me? I think the stoops has been. I mean, there's a five year runner who was so good for us, but then the last few years is when you're not winning, and then these small mistakes build up. 00:48:04 Speaker 1: But how many times? How many times can you think of it? I'm not saying there's none, okay, but how many games can you think of where in the moment we made a decision where we outsmarted the other team. Now, there have been games where we out scheme the other team in lead up. I think got stoops as guys have played their hearts out for years, But can you think of a game of a time where we said, man, our staff really outsmarted him in that moment. 00:48:40 Speaker 16: I can't, honestly the top of my head, I can't. 00:48:43 Speaker 1: And I appreciate the call. That's what I call those Lane Kiffin moments, because Lane Kiffin, I think, actually screws up in a lot of other stuff, but in that he's as good as anybody. He's as good as anybody in a moment of coming up with something. Well, maybe last year against him, when we threw that deep pass to Barrion Brown, maybe that was the moment, Billy, when we did do that. Yeah, but there haven't been many and I that and it's never gotten better, and I don't really know that it ever will. 00:49:10 Speaker 2: Was that the last time they won an SEC game? 00:49:13 Speaker 1: Yes? Yes, he If I'm nine two eight oh twenty two eighty seven, the text machine is seven seven two seven seven four five two five four, We'll take a break, come back. Final segment, Local Toy Dealers KSR Post game Show. Welcome Back, Local Toy Dealers KSR postgame Show. If I'm nine two eight oh twenty two eighty seven. Alabama beats Tennessee, including a ninety nine yard interception return and Tennessee may lose their baseball coach. So that's good, right, Yeah? 00:49:44 Speaker 2: Is he going to the majors? Is that official? 00:49:46 Speaker 1: No, it's not official, but it looks like he's he's the favorite to get the Giants job. I think that would be. That would be, I mean, be interesting to see. You don't see a lot of college coaches go straight to the UH to the majors. One person rights mad I was at the game. I think the Texas fans are the nicest group of away fans I've ever seen here. You know, people had said to me that Texas fans were awful. You know, maybe it was just they didn't think they were gonna lose. I don't know. I found them to be like maybe the most pleasant LSU fans when they were here, were really fun. But they tracked, they talked trash, and drank a lot. I don't know, man, this was these were all like gentlemen. Maybe it's just the group that decided to come the weekend of Keenland. I don't know. By the way, Lexington was alive today in a way like I don't know if I can ever remember it being like that, Like every single part of town. I mean, you had so many different things going on, from the scare fest at Rupperina to the protest downtown, to the parents weekend, to the bar to like bars filled with UK and Texas fans, to Keenland. It's just like the city was a buzz. We talked about yesterday had the worst traffic in the history of Lexington, and I genuinely believe that's true today. I can't ever remember being in this city when everywhere you went there were just people walking and having fun like it was awesome. It really was a cool day. I mean, the ending stinks, but I don't I don't think I've ever seen a day where the city had as many people out in it and it was perfect weather too. Just a just an awesome day outside of the result of this game. All right, let's go oppen. 00:51:36 Speaker 2: I was gonna say it looked like o Jo Cinco had a good time at the game. 00:51:38 Speaker 1: Yeah, how about Ocho Cinco in the student section? ESPN I saw showed him and didn't mention him. They showed the student section and he was in it. Nobody noticed, I guess Mario Mario Mario saw him in there, went and interviewed him, and his video with him has gone viral. How about Mario bringing it uh uh? And going by from his interview with Ocho Sinkle where he's Oho said he was going to lead the fans onto the field. If we weren't, I would love I would have loved to have seen that. All right, let's do We'll do six more and call to night. So let's who's up first, Austin, Austin, go ahead, Matt. 00:52:15 Speaker 18: Special teams have been a problem since the start of Mark Stops tenure here. 00:52:19 Speaker 9: It's never been. 00:52:20 Speaker 13: Fixed, and that's par for the course. 00:52:22 Speaker 18: I'll come from Clark County, Indiana. I'm not sure if you're familiar with that at all, But. 00:52:26 Speaker 1: It's not always, not always. Remember we had the national punter of the Year, We've had We've had some really good kickers. I I don't know. I I think I don't think that's a consistent Mark Stoop's issue, although it was definitely an issue tonight. 00:52:44 Speaker 18: I'll come from Clark County, Indiana. I'm not sure if familiar with that at all. If you're not, just google Jamie Nole Bush Handen should be incarcerated for set. He's making blood money he's incompetent, and he's a fraud, and he's the least successful you OC in America. Please, Joe Kraft, right, your boy a thirty eight point seven million dollar checks so he can sit by his pool ship already won and think about how awful of a coach and how bad of a leader he's been in the end of his tenure. 00:53:11 Speaker 1: Please, right, I'll stop you right there. I appreciate the call I gave you. Gave you a minute there. Yeah, well that was the opposite of the one guy just to me in the last segment. Right? Five more? Who's next? Edward? 00:53:26 Speaker 2: Is next? 00:53:27 Speaker 1: Edward? Go ahead? 00:53:29 Speaker 10: Hey, Matt, I've been a season ticket holder since Caluch was a sophomore, and I'm as discourage as I've ever been. We've got this clock in this management. It's end of the first half, the end of the game. And then Paul Cutter Bowley, He's played the game of his life. 00:53:45 Speaker 9: And we don't give him a chance to win the game at the end. 00:53:48 Speaker 10: I mean, how do we do that? 00:53:51 Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, I know what you mean. I don't know. I mean, you know, not a ton of people. Three, Well, I would say, you're gonna go four times from the three, you probably do at least want to give him one or two shots at it. I agree with you, yes, And I thought he was great. I thought he was great. My only complaint was a couple of times he took sacks in places where you just can't take a sack. We one time it got us out of field goal range and and uh we nearly got a safety once. But I mean that that's nitpicking because I thought he made some great throws, and I also thought he was really tough and had a couple of runs that were really impressive. 00:54:29 Speaker 10: The only time I thought he played good, he played super. The only mistake he made was throwing that interception. I mean the rest time he really didn't have a Well. 00:54:41 Speaker 1: No, he does have time, so and I appreciate the call. He's got to make reads there I had. I had a guy sitting close to me who was talking about, he's in there right, like, there were reads he just didn't make. So he didn't see the blitz coming and check off, and so he held onto the ball. And so you know, sometimes in a D defense, you're letting guys run free. But the quarterbacks got to know that, so that he then gets rid of the ball, and I think he just missed it a couple of times. But the interception didn't bother me as much because he was third and fourteen. He was trying to make a play and they ended up not scoring. So I don't I don't think that had a huge impact. Who's next, Jerry, Jerry, go ahead, Jerry, yeah. 00:55:24 Speaker 10: Man. 00:55:24 Speaker 11: First off, the Texas fans were great, including my lovely wife. To grew up in Texas, I had to put up here in a long horn, dear over there that tonight. But it you know, you got to take care of your wife as far as the game goes, you know, all to the game, I felt at some point our offensive code coach with equipment by some of the setup was perfect. Texas comes out flat after that big game, their offensive line and rest is where they were against Florida and Archer is running for his life. Set up was perfect. Crust upset up. I just just had that hit your stomach saying sooner or later, we're gonna have some script on offense, and sadly down there at the end of the overtime, it did you and I have to agree to history. I'm not kicking the field go there. I think you can still go there because your defense has been holding them out, and then you just play on. 00:56:11 Speaker 1: Yeah, but again, let's play it out. I mean, let's say you kick the field goal right there, then they come down and let's say we hold them, and then they kick a field goal. They got a good kicker, so you're like, you're not it's not like they have a bag kicker, and you assume they're going to miss it. So now you're right back to where you were before. Are you going to get a better chance then first and goal from the three the second time around? I mean, you know, I think you're sitting there playing the numbers. He's he's at fourth and a half a yard. I just feel like you got a better chance of getting it on fourth and a half in yard than to go back and be first and ten at the twenty five again, which is what you're asking for. 00:56:50 Speaker 11: Well and well, I guess probably the bigest problem I have with it is running those plays. 00:56:56 Speaker 1: I agree with that that is a bigger issue. 00:56:59 Speaker 11: And then and then start tried to bail him out because because happened, you just you just you just you just come out with twenty five. If you've got a decent kicker can still go game over and start almost screwed that up. 00:57:12 Speaker 1: He almost screwed it up. I'll tell you what. They also bailed us out in regulation when that guy ran out of bounds. I mean, we shouldn't have even been in all your time. Appreciate the call. I mean that guy just ran out of bounds that he like, we got a break just to be an overtime there. I mean I was happy for it. But yeah, Also, I think Mark should have called the time out when uh we let thirty five seconds run off the clock when it was clear they were in field goal range. I would have called time out before it ended up not really mattering we got into field goal range. But again that's kind of the clock management stuff. One person writes, Matt, seriously, you think they can beat Louisville. That's probably Kentucky fans. You don't live in reality. 00:57:52 Speaker 14: Yes I do. 00:57:53 Speaker 1: I don't think we're the favorite. You all should be over a touchdown favorite. But let's play a little bit. You lost at home last week to Virginia. Virginia should have lost today to Washington State, who's like two and five. Okay, So no, I don't think it's crazy. You guys almost lost a pitt. You did lose to Virginia. Now you beat Miami, that's awesome, but you're inconsistent. So is it crazy to think that Kentucky could play with little No? Now? Do I think it's gonna happen? Probably not. I think we're probably gonna go into that game three and eight and our guys probably won't feel like they have a lot to play for, and we'll probably lose. But like, I don't understand how Louisville the fans you just lost to Virginia at home. Come on, you're not world beaters. Now You're gonna play like three bad teams in the next few weeks. So you're gonna go into that Clepson game, you know what, seven and two or seven No. Eight one, But then you're gonna lose to Clemson, who's not good. Just remember I told you that three more. Who's next? Josh, go ahead, Josh, hey man. 00:58:58 Speaker 19: So big thing that I have a issue with is we let Cutter get into a flow. We let him move the ball down the field, move the ball down the field, and then we immediately cut him off and just run the ball like we instantly stop all the momentum that he gets and just cut it off for I don't know if it's a hand him play call or if it's stoops, but it just feels like we kill his entire momentum automatically, just for no reason. 00:59:28 Speaker 1: Yeah. Well, I mean you do have to balance it a little bit of passing and running, but we weren't. I mean, Texas strength is the heart of their defense, is the interior of their defensive line. Like I said, all four of those guys are going in the NFL, and we appreciate the call in very important moments of the game. Continued to think that that was gonna work, And I don't know how we'd have thought that. One person writes, mat, I'm a blue coat, been working at these games for forty years. Texas fans were the nicest fans as a group we've ever had. 01:00:00 Speaker 2: That's nice, Billy ty praise from a blue coat. 01:00:03 Speaker 1: Two more, who's that? Roy? Roy? Go ahead? Roy? 01:00:07 Speaker 8: Hey, guys, first time, long time? 01:00:10 Speaker 1: What's up. 01:00:12 Speaker 13: Man. 01:00:12 Speaker 8: One thing that really hurt me tonight is I've been a Kentucky football fan for twenty nine years. I came back to womb a UK fan, and we had four fumbles tonight and we didn't lose one of them. 01:00:24 Speaker 1: How many? That's true? That, that's really true. Yeah, and that one the guy, the guy tried to scoop and score. If he just falls, they get it and we ended up getting it back. You're right with the bounces were on our side. 01:00:36 Speaker 8: Man, that that last one, that Ty Bright musted, I thought I was going to have Andrey me too, me too. 01:00:42 Speaker 1: No, you're right, but that is, by the way, a very good point to make. You know, we did fumble the ball four times and got all four bounces. That's not gonna happen in a lot of games. But go ahead. 01:00:52 Speaker 8: I do have one positive thing to say. I've been going to your restaurant, your bars for a long time, and I always get the wings. The wings are always good. The last time I went, I got a burger. I got the bacon jamburger and that was one of the best hamburgers I have ever had in my life. Man, I drive two and a half hours just to eat it again. 01:01:08 Speaker 1: To be honest with you, well, that's very nice of you. Thank you very much. We appreciate the call. We've really, I think, very much improved the food quality there since we reopened and I'm very proud of Today was our second busiest day ever. If we had won, I think it would have been our busy I think it would have been our best day ever. So thank you the folks who came in. I do have to say thank you the Texas fans too. One more. Who's next, Bryan Bryant? 01:01:34 Speaker 15: Go ahead, Hey, guys, I guess last call. I'll try to end them a positive because I wanted to pivot to the defense. I just wanted to ask, what would you rate this defensive performance and do you think it's something that you can look. 01:01:49 Speaker 16: Forward to. 01:01:51 Speaker 1: Great? I think it was. I mean, let me answer anything. I'll give you the second thing. I think it was a nine and a half out of ten. I mean, let's look at it. We held him to thirteen point in regulation. Seven of those points were because of a punt return where they got it inside of the five, and three of those points were because of a punt return where they got it inside of the forty. So ten points were kind of almost given to them. So I would argue the defense really gave up like three points they made open field tackles. This team has been bad the last couple of years. On open field tackles, they made almost all of them. The special teams missed a couple, but the defense there was almost no big miss tackles. When they had to make a one on one play, they made it. They got pressure on Arch, they had a game plan where they dared him to beat them in kind of in three fourths of the field range, like downfield. He couldn't. I thought the defense, I thought that was a great game. And Steve Starkeishan is a very good play caller, so Brad White I think deserves a ton of it. 01:03:00 Speaker 15: But go ahead, yeah, because I mean, I want to be confident on next week. But they just they played so good tonight and it's like, I feel like they might just feel deflated. And I mean, yeah, that's a great Tennessee offense coming in. I just I hate a great performance on defense and they come out and give up forty points next week. So I just hope it's a positive move forward. 01:03:22 Speaker 16: But I'm not. 01:03:23 Speaker 15: I'm not so high on going in next week because. 01:03:26 Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm not. Now, the next week's different. I appreciate the call. Next week's yeah, I mean, next week's different because Tennessee plays an offensive style. Tennessee plays an offensive style. That's that's much tougher for us. We're good against teams like this, we are not good against teams like Tennessee. So I'm not confident about next week's game. I thought this game could be close, but it wasn't just close. It was there for us to win. This wasn't a I think. I said on the pregame show, it'll be the fourth quarter, it'll be a one position game, and we'll have the ball. That was true. What I didn't expect is we'll go to overtime and we will be the better team going into overtime and we should win. And we were, and then we didn't do it, and so you're left with just the emptiness of we needed it, we didn't get it. And now I think, even though it was a great night in some ways in terms of performance and a huge step up, we're right back where we were before, where it's hard to feel really really positive going forward. Thank you folks very much for staying up with me. Tonight tomorrow be on ESPN from ten to one and cover zero that evening. Billy, appreciate you staying up as well. We will see you later Kats lose sixteen to thirteen. This has been the local toy Dealers KSR postgame show 01:05:00 Speaker 2: As
