00:00:02 Speaker 1: Hey, everyone, welcome back to Batcher Happy Hour. I'm Joe and we are here with Justin and Susie. Hello, Hi, good to see you guys. Welcome, Welcome, How you guys doing? 00:00:16 Speaker 2: Gold cold, golden, golden, literally freezing but great. 00:00:21 Speaker 3: We are live. 00:00:22 Speaker 1: We are live at the Bacheler Mansion, so everyone knows. And it is very cold out. 00:00:27 Speaker 4: Yeah, it's really cold. 00:00:28 Speaker 5: We thankfully are in probably the warmest room in the whole house right now, which is this podcast room. 00:00:33 Speaker 1: I'm so comfortable right now. This is the first thing all night. 00:00:35 Speaker 4: Now I'll be in here, very comfortable. 00:00:38 Speaker 1: So what's new? Who should who? Who should I start with? I'm gonna start with Susie. Great, what's now? You guys? You're you're living here. 00:00:45 Speaker 4: And I'm here in La this as of this year. 00:00:48 Speaker 2: It's been it's been not almost a year, but I came out to Subley's about. 00:00:53 Speaker 4: A year ago, trial to La. 00:00:57 Speaker 2: And yeah, I made the official move like in spring, and it's been so good. It's been like really career driven and like i feel like I'm a broken record, probly to Justin who's heard a thousand times, but I feel like I've taken a lot of opportunities that aren't always like they don't like pay the most money, or they're not like the most like you know, I'm not like building my personal brand, but they're like videography gigs, or they are jobs that are like moving in the direction of like creativity, and like maybe they don't pay as much, but I feel like they're putting me in the right rooms. And so I'm getting a lot of like the career and networking that I've like the reasons why I moved to La. So I feel like I've been like I'm proud of what I've accomplished since getting here. 00:01:38 Speaker 1: That's gat what's the end goal. 00:01:40 Speaker 2: I think I'm still trying to figure that out, but I think like ultimately I just want to be like a self sufficient business woman that has my videography, my media company and doing you know, video production, photography, and like I think I've realized that like sometimes weddings get a bit rinse and repeat, and it's like you're doing the same thing. You sort of like lack creativity eventually, and so it's nice to be able to like keep trying new things and like building a new portfolio and like going in a new direction. 00:02:13 Speaker 4: So like that's been really fun for me. 00:02:15 Speaker 2: So I don't know that I'm ever gonna like change that and like stop evolving, but I think it all will be like based around media, video photography. 00:02:23 Speaker 5: I've always wondered that, especially like after having a wedding, Like I feel like people that do weddings like wedding planning, wedding videography, wedding photography, you have to be so passionate about that space because you're doing so many things that are so the same, Like you're just doing weddings like over and over. You have to, like, I kudos to like our our whole team, because like finding the uniqueness and like the creativity in every single project must be quite challenging. 00:02:53 Speaker 6: Right. 00:02:54 Speaker 2: Also, I want to say, y'all's wedding was beautiful and it was captured beautifully, Like I love the media that came out of your wedding. I felt like it was really beautiful. And I love seeing the vaccination weddings because I do go then creep on the photographer's videographers and I love to see their work, and I feel like you guys had a really good taste. 00:03:13 Speaker 1: Our videographers were amazing. 00:03:15 Speaker 7: Oh my god, they were amazing. 00:03:17 Speaker 5: They really went like above and beyond the whole weekend, which is great because like you don't know until it's over to see what they did, Like they could have captured nothing. 00:03:25 Speaker 4: I wouldn't have known, right, living and just living in the moment, and then. 00:03:29 Speaker 5: They send it to you after and you're like, oh my gosh, like, thank you so much for showing up and doing all this work. I watched its entirety, so we had like the highlightrail which we shared on Instagram. I think there will be more footage to come potentially, but I mean they've sent us so much, like I feel like we've really watched the main parts. 00:03:46 Speaker 8: Yeah, and I've seen people recently actually they were like. 00:03:49 Speaker 9: This is our time watching our wedding. 00:03:51 Speaker 7: Oh my gosh. 00:03:53 Speaker 1: I think those people don't get to watch themselves on We've done enough, like. 00:04:00 Speaker 7: Enough watching. 00:04:04 Speaker 1: Justin what's doing you? 00:04:05 Speaker 3: Yeah, so. 00:04:07 Speaker 1: You guys are living. 00:04:08 Speaker 7: Together, but you moved to LA around the same time. 00:04:13 Speaker 9: By bailed on living together. 00:04:16 Speaker 5: I should remember that, Yeah, Yeah, because you were in New York and you were like, yes, is going to. 00:04:22 Speaker 3: Live with. 00:04:25 Speaker 2: Yeah? 00:04:25 Speaker 1: I thought. 00:04:27 Speaker 3: I'm not why. I thought it was going to be a new girl here's. 00:04:30 Speaker 8: The thing about there's thing about like she's infamous for like the well, like you totally don't have to do if you. 00:04:36 Speaker 3: Don't want to, Like so you don't want to do it. 00:04:37 Speaker 8: She's like no, no, but like I'm just giving me the option where you don't have to if you don't want to. I'm like no, no, I'm good, like like no pressure, like okay, so you don't want to And that's how she got out of it. 00:04:46 Speaker 4: Wow, bro Okay. 00:04:47 Speaker 2: First of all, there's a whole backstory that we literally can't even get into as private, not in a bad way, just like in a secretive way. 00:04:55 Speaker 4: That as to why I was, I think you should share. 00:04:58 Speaker 2: No, there's a whole other side of this as to why it was complicated. But I tried, Like Andrew and Justin were going days without replying to emails about housing situations, and finally I said, hey. 00:05:16 Speaker 4: I actually do you remember? 00:05:17 Speaker 2: That was literally I was out here a month before y'all because I had work. So I was like, I'm sorry, if you guys want. 00:05:28 Speaker 4: To are this is our first fight? Are we fighting right now? 00:05:33 Speaker 2: Heated No, But I I do think like I had to be out here for work, reasons, and I got to the point where I was like, hey, like no pressure, I just need to know the vibe. And yeah, I do think it was a bit of like gaslighting on whose part justin No, I'm just kidding, justin you gas lighter. I do love saying to much reality TV. So I'm totally joking about that, but I don't read those. 00:06:07 Speaker 4: I got happy I love a headline. 00:06:12 Speaker 2: No, I'm I'm actually joking about that. But yeah, I just like didn't work out. We both know, I just didn't work out. There were other things that came into play, but but we live like ten minutes for each other, met him and Andrew were kind of inseparable for a minute. 00:06:26 Speaker 3: So basically it's kind of similar. 00:06:28 Speaker 8: Came out here in March and did kind of like a little test trial for LA because I knew I love Baltimore with all my heart, born and raised, but I needed to get out of there, and it was between New York or LA. And when I was in Baltimore, I was in New York all the time, so it like, I know what it's gonna be like to live there. 00:06:43 Speaker 3: LA is a huge move. 00:06:44 Speaker 9: So before I pulled the trigger on that, like let me see what it's going to be like. 00:06:47 Speaker 8: So live with Andrew for like two months, found my spot, love it. 00:06:52 Speaker 9: And moved here full time. What area I'm in West Hollywood with. 00:06:56 Speaker 7: Andrew Because you lived alone before, and I know you loved living alone. 00:06:59 Speaker 3: I love living alone. 00:07:00 Speaker 4: Yeah, no, I remember you saying I love Andrew. 00:07:03 Speaker 3: We definitely lived different lifestyles. 00:07:05 Speaker 9: Right for sure. 00:07:09 Speaker 3: So it was it was, it was. 00:07:11 Speaker 8: It was awesome though, because like he and I, you know, we're great friends, and you know, we have similar interests and we would just He's so funny and so the comedic aspect and going to the gym together and just being able to go to different things together was awesome. But it was so funny to just kind of like see our day to day routines in the contract between give us an example, Okay, well you know, andrewsy you know, you know, give us a gentle example. 00:07:39 Speaker 3: Okay, gentle. So, like I'm not a huge phone talker. 00:07:43 Speaker 9: Okay, I'm not a huge phone talker. 00:07:45 Speaker 3: Right, I have never been this man. 00:07:49 Speaker 8: Andrew has a rolodex of face times, like on schedule I would. I was on the phone with my with my best friend from back one day I was like ten fifty seven, you got three minutes, guarante you had eleven clock Andrew's got. 00:08:00 Speaker 3: A FaceTime clockwork. 00:08:02 Speaker 9: He's a how you doing, a man just checking in on you. He would like he has a routine of face times. 00:08:09 Speaker 3: He will go with it. 00:08:10 Speaker 9: And it's just like he's so fun like he's so vibrant, and like. 00:08:14 Speaker 3: You know, it's Andrew. He's a he's a he's a he's a. 00:08:16 Speaker 9: Lively person, is vibrant. 00:08:18 Speaker 8: And it's like whereas I like I leave by myself and there's times I swear I'm so weird. 00:08:23 Speaker 9: It'll be like five people. I'm like, I haven't said a word out loud. 00:08:26 Speaker 8: Not that I would talk to myself out loud, but I'm like, I haven't exercised my vocal cords. Like I just I keep to myself a lot. But Andrew's he's so funny and so lively. So just like just to kind of. 00:08:36 Speaker 5: See those that's a good example because I feel like that attests to both your personalities. Yeah, but also just like that's so relatable for anyone with a roommate, Like it's like, okay, like I hear you on FaceTime for the third time today, like it's gonna be talking to because I'm not gonna know one and keeping quiet over here. 00:08:55 Speaker 4: And you're not. 00:08:56 Speaker 3: It was. 00:08:56 Speaker 8: It was just so great because we would, you know, we'd meet up a lot, the whole friend group in different cities and stuff like that. But it was cool to to live with him and just kind of like have that built in frame. 00:09:08 Speaker 7: It must have been nice to like someone. 00:09:11 Speaker 3: It's like, this is so new for both of us. 00:09:13 Speaker 8: And we put a different events and you know, go hang out with Nat and Rodney together, and it was. 00:09:17 Speaker 3: It was cool. And I tried with all my might to get. 00:09:20 Speaker 9: Him to stay, and I'm like, dude, like you can't. 00:09:23 Speaker 3: Pull that guy from Chicago. Yeah, I can't pull him. 00:09:26 Speaker 7: So I feel like I'm the andro, I'm the Facetimer and. 00:09:38 Speaker 1: I you think you're the facetimer. 00:09:40 Speaker 5: Well, you make about fifty calls a day and they're all about two to four minutes long, and I will make about. 00:09:48 Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm not even I don't even think I meant, I don't even think it's two I think like four minutes. 00:09:53 Speaker 3: Stress, what do we talk about it? I like the definition of like this could have been an email, a text. 00:10:00 Speaker 7: Joe doesn't really text. 00:10:01 Speaker 5: He's a two minute caller and he does a bajillion of them a day, and I'm like, like max three, but like one FaceTime a day for like a good thirty minutes to an hour. 00:10:13 Speaker 7: I'm never doing no, never. You're the only person I think you would do that with. 00:10:17 Speaker 5: It would be me, because if we're like apart, I'll be like like at the even when. 00:10:21 Speaker 1: Calls me and I'm just like, what's up? And she starts taying like all. 00:10:24 Speaker 4: Right, I'm like where are you going? 00:10:26 Speaker 7: Where do you think you're going? 00:10:28 Speaker 8: Yeah? 00:10:29 Speaker 7: This conversation is. 00:10:30 Speaker 8: Called out on it, and I need to be better. I love my mother with all my heart. She's the sweetest woman on earth. She's a phone talker, yeah right, and she'll call me every day like clockwork. 00:10:42 Speaker 3: Hey, what are you doing? How's your David? What are you doing next? 00:10:44 Speaker 9: I'm like, what's up? 00:10:46 Speaker 5: You know? 00:10:47 Speaker 3: And if. 00:10:49 Speaker 2: I happen to be in the room and his mom calls, I'm literally like, be sweeter. 00:10:54 Speaker 4: You need to be nice because I'm like, you like, she is calling you. 00:10:58 Speaker 8: Because she loves you and I appreciate her, but I'm like I don't need to talk. 00:11:02 Speaker 4: Yes, you do, Yeah, you do to your mama. 00:11:05 Speaker 1: Did you ever you've seen the Nick Kroll stand up where he talks about how everyone boys deal with their mom when they call like the nice She's the nicest, sweetest person in your life and as soon as your what the. 00:11:19 Speaker 8: It's all positive, Like I appreciate her. She's my biggest band, Like I love her so much. 00:11:25 Speaker 5: It's so true though, boys will be like, my mom is my rock, my angel, she is like everything to me and men I don't want to. 00:11:32 Speaker 2: Talk to my mom Like I'm like the anti of that. I'm like, we need to proactively like dissipate that within you because I just it's like such. 00:11:44 Speaker 4: A sweet thing. It's your mom, and I get it. 00:11:48 Speaker 2: I also get it, like you know, moms are moms for a reason and like they drive us nuts. 00:11:53 Speaker 8: But like I'm like the person I'm like, if I'm calling you, it's because I have an objective, Like I have something I'm trying. 00:11:57 Speaker 7: To get oriented caller not a chit chatty collar. 00:12:01 Speaker 2: But mama is a chip chatter Oh, mama's our Yeah, So. 00:12:05 Speaker 3: What do you justin? 00:12:06 Speaker 1: What are you doing for work right now? 00:12:08 Speaker 8: So it took everything out of me I was working in finance. I was in institutional investment sales, and it was with a fintech startup. And for the past year and a half have been working on my own company, my own business, and which has been taking a lot of time away from that stuff, and it's what I'm passionate about. So I made the tough decision to step away from that and pursue my own which is it's in the spirits industry. 00:12:35 Speaker 7: Oh exciting, congratulations, thank you. 00:12:38 Speaker 8: It's been a lot of work, but yeah, it's where my passions at and pulled the trigger on it, and I've been. 00:12:45 Speaker 3: Doing that nice. 00:12:46 Speaker 5: Justin loves boozing and now he's going to make a business out of it about quietly drinking. 00:12:55 Speaker 1: Drink by yourself. Okay, So you have to ask, are you guys like dating? Is that a thing? Or you're just friends? 00:13:05 Speaker 4: Justin wishes she loves Okay. 00:13:09 Speaker 5: I feel like that's Susie's go to answer. Yeah, So how is is going to work when one of you starts dating someone else? 00:13:14 Speaker 4: That's the question. No, we actually do know. 00:13:16 Speaker 9: It's literally it's it's come up because you know, we do like little. 00:13:20 Speaker 5: Funny you guys are like each others like substitute boyfriend and Cori, right, like, you're not the permanent teacher, but you're like the sub you know. 00:13:27 Speaker 7: It's like, hey, let's like watch together. 00:13:30 Speaker 1: I'm just gonna throw out there. 00:13:31 Speaker 4: Okay, have you guys hooked up before? No, Okay, there we go. 00:13:37 Speaker 1: I don't know if I believe about it. 00:13:40 Speaker 4: I've dreamt I've dreamed of it. 00:13:42 Speaker 2: No, I mean I've thought about it, Like I'm not gonna say about it. 00:13:48 Speaker 4: I've looked at his lips before, like yeah, like okay, but what's stopping it? 00:13:52 Speaker 5: Because everyone, you guys truly okay, honestly, it's justin okay. 00:13:58 Speaker 3: I'll I'll tell the truthful answer. 00:13:59 Speaker 8: So so it's a huge risk, right, And we have had this conversation because we are such good friends and I love and appreciate Susie so much in my life that you know, she's not just. 00:14:12 Speaker 9: Like a casual like hookup whatever. 00:14:14 Speaker 8: Right, Like, if we were to cross that line, it's like, there's gotta be longevity to it. And the scary thought is if that were to happen and things were to not go as planned, right, It's like we don't want to lose that foundation of the friendship and have that person in each other's lives, and that's the risk. 00:14:33 Speaker 1: How long have you known each other? 00:14:36 Speaker 4: Literally, I feel like okay, but what's scarier? 00:14:40 Speaker 7: Like what if? Okay? 00:14:41 Speaker 5: But like justin Justina, like, okay, I hear you, Like you guys are great friends. You've built an amazing friendship that's very valuable. But like Susie gets swept off her feet, like Prince of France comes and like goes and is like, Susie or my girl, come move to friends with me. 00:14:54 Speaker 4: I'm in love with you. 00:14:55 Speaker 7: She's like, oh my god, you're so handsome. 00:14:56 Speaker 4: I don't know. I feel like that happened like gospel or something. 00:14:59 Speaker 9: And like you, I know he won't be as funny as me. 00:15:01 Speaker 5: No, but she's gone, well you won't you regret not being like we should have like tried it. 00:15:06 Speaker 7: You know, you don't lock her down. 00:15:08 Speaker 4: Someone's gonna lost. 00:15:09 Speaker 1: This is a very similar story to Ashley and Jail oh Man. 00:15:16 Speaker 2: We just did their podcast and she was saying that this is literally like their story, and I will say, like I joke that it's just justin, but like like we've talked about this stuff and it's like I think I said this on their podcast too, But I'm like, if we cross the boundary, it's like, right now. 00:15:39 Speaker 4: Justin can come to my wedding. I can go to his if we know you can't. 00:15:43 Speaker 10: If we I think we can if we cross. 00:15:54 Speaker 4: That was a good episode, but that does not apply here. 00:15:57 Speaker 3: See. 00:15:57 Speaker 4: I think it's like, I love a good sign. 00:16:00 Speaker 1: Film love. 00:16:01 Speaker 4: I do watch a lot of sign Okay. 00:16:03 Speaker 3: So there's there's there's a sign. 00:16:05 Speaker 4: Being held up right now. 00:16:07 Speaker 5: Our podcast produces just make up, just make out. 00:16:11 Speaker 8: It'd be doing you guys a disservice to not have that on camera, so you'll wait till camera. 00:16:16 Speaker 1: I would also feel uncomfortab. 00:16:18 Speaker 5: Yeah, we don't need to say watch you guys. Maybe a weird thing to be kind of an appropriate. 00:16:22 Speaker 4: It're weird for us to like, yeah, do you want to kiss me? 00:16:34 Speaker 1: Jesus? Either of you would? Would either of you go on Paradise again? 00:16:45 Speaker 3: Just absolutely not? 00:16:46 Speaker 4: Okay you've never been you I haven't been to Paradise? 00:16:50 Speaker 3: Would you go? 00:16:51 Speaker 4: I highly considered it this year. 00:16:53 Speaker 2: I had a lot of like career ambitions this summer that I was running after, and I feel like I feel comfortable and confident decision like and this is nothing against the guys that went to Paradise, but I personally feel like I'm. 00:17:05 Speaker 4: A bit older. 00:17:08 Speaker 2: Comparatively to the people that went, and I do think in general, I'm just like, I not not to say that there wouldn't have been something with somebody there, but I'm like, I just feel like it wasn't like I don't think I would have found my person there, So that's fair. Yeah, Like I feel confident with my decision not to go. 00:17:31 Speaker 7: I feel like you. 00:17:31 Speaker 5: Would be someone that they would maybe bring back if it was like we really think there's a guy or there's a guys here for you. 00:17:38 Speaker 4: Yeah, you know, I get that, and. 00:17:41 Speaker 2: I feel like that, like, yeah, I'm not opposed to doing it down the line, but I think it's not. 00:17:46 Speaker 4: Like a priority. Like I really thought about it. I did. 00:17:49 Speaker 2: I like thought heart long and hard about it, and I was like, well, I regret this, but I feel really great with my decision. 00:17:54 Speaker 4: That's how Okay. 00:17:55 Speaker 2: The summer and I dated a guy this summer and it was good. It wasn't for me, but like you know, it was a nice little summer flame. 00:18:01 Speaker 4: That's fun. We love a summer flaning. 00:18:03 Speaker 1: We love a summer flame, Justine, would you stop her if she wanted to go? 00:18:11 Speaker 8: So that's what she's withholding she she. 00:18:15 Speaker 9: Asked for a ride to the airport. 00:18:17 Speaker 3: She had her bags packed. 00:18:20 Speaker 9: On her way to Paradise, literally drove. It was terminal four. Yeah, term of four American there's seven. 00:18:28 Speaker 4: Oh my god, Justin stops starting room. 00:18:30 Speaker 6: Literally, and so she like looks at me and like it was like four pm Golden Hour, like son hit the Green Eyes, and she was like I could tell she was waiting for me to like it was. 00:18:41 Speaker 8: Like a rom com, right, She's jiggling the thing of like, Susie, it's unlocked, you can get out. 00:18:46 Speaker 3: And I was like, you know, you don't have to go if you don't want to. 00:18:53 Speaker 4: History that are like thinking, it's real this drill. 00:18:58 Speaker 1: Literally, I'm I'm glad you're in the spirits business. 00:19:01 Speaker 3: Okay? 00:19:04 Speaker 1: Would you, Susie? Would you would you be interested in doing the videography for Gary? Did they ask you? 00:19:13 Speaker 4: Yes? 00:19:13 Speaker 3: No? 00:19:13 Speaker 4: But I suggested it you should. 00:19:16 Speaker 2: I literally I was like, you guys need a videographer for the wedding because you are, you should do it. 00:19:23 Speaker 4: Justin's been learning. He's been my second shooter. So you could be a little dream team. 00:19:27 Speaker 1: But you're also like, don't sell yourself short. 00:19:31 Speaker 7: You like you can be the live. 00:19:34 Speaker 1: Yeah, you're really good painting. 00:19:38 Speaker 8: Joke, like we've literally joked about not joke, but like like wedding stuff. Yeah, yeah, I would love to. 00:19:45 Speaker 5: Susan is in the business of officiating weddings. Who else there's year into We need like a photographer who's a photographer, say, photographers enough that we could build an entire empire of Hey we have a one stop shot we do.
