If I'm nine two eight oh twenty two eighty seven, all right, so let me do a couple of things, and I'm gonna go right back to the phones. Text machine is seven seven two seven seven four five two five four. Sorry to the text machine people. I've gotten a little busy. I just haven't been on it as much, but I will. I will read your stuff when the when the show is over. All right, So the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Shannon, I feel like we first of all, I feel like they picked people a lot because I feel like we have this conversation a lot. But it's a conversation you're perfect for. 00:01:36 Speaker 5: All Right, it's good. 00:01:37 Speaker 4: I will read you. Did you see who got in? 00:01:39 Speaker 5: I did? 00:01:40 Speaker 4: So we're gonna say, do you think these people deserve to get in? We'll start with Oasis. 00:01:47 Speaker 3: Yes, they were kind of like the modern day, or I guess with the nineties it was modern day like the Beatles. 00:01:53 Speaker 5: Everybody loved Oasis back then. 00:01:55 Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean they had a short run, but at their top they literally said they were bigger than the Beatles. Great. 00:02:03 Speaker 5: Yeah, uh. 00:02:04 Speaker 4: The Gallagher Brothers seemed just awful they still hate each other. 00:02:08 Speaker 5: No, I think they're back out and touring. 00:02:10 Speaker 4: Okay, so they can show up together. Yeah, all right, so there in. Are you good with that? 00:02:14 Speaker 2: I'm going with the Oasis being in, all right, Billy Idol. 00:02:18 Speaker 3: Yeah, I think you got to put him. I was kind of surprised he wasn't already in. 00:02:22 Speaker 4: I'm a little surprised he got it. He got in because I don't see him as a serious person. 00:02:27 Speaker 2: But they were appointing in the eighties though, where he was as big as anybody. 00:02:31 Speaker 5: What do you mean you think he's a comedian? I mean, what do you mean you don't see him? 00:02:33 Speaker 4: I'm just saying I feel like because his music to me is always kind of a little jokey, like more. 00:02:39 Speaker 5: More more, No, that is how he sings. 00:02:42 Speaker 4: Okay, white wedding okay, but also kind of a jokey song. I didn't know so he did moan y. 00:02:53 Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, okay. 00:02:57 Speaker 4: So those are three huge songs, huge anything else, White wedding. 00:03:04 Speaker 2: More that's another big one. 00:03:10 Speaker 5: Myself. 00:03:12 Speaker 4: So he's got to be in. Those are five Those are five huge songs. All right, fair enough, Iron Maiden, I'm sure you believe that. 00:03:19 Speaker 2: Well, I'm not a big fan of Iron Maiden. 00:03:21 Speaker 3: They are headlighting Louder than Life and metal heads love them, So I. 00:03:25 Speaker 4: Mean you're gonna have metal music in, then you gotta have Iron Maiden, right because I mean they're you know, I don't know who Joy Division and New Order are. 00:03:35 Speaker 5: I don't know who that don't you not really? 00:03:37 Speaker 3: I mean I know they exist, but if you said, like, what kind of music is that, I really don't know. 00:03:44 Speaker 4: I don't either. 00:03:44 Speaker 2: No idea? 00:03:45 Speaker 4: Is it? 00:03:45 Speaker 2: Like? No idea? I was hoping you guys. 00:03:48 Speaker 4: Knew find me Shannon. The biggest Joy Division song, Okay, sawday is that? And how you say it? You don't say saved? I remember that when. 00:03:57 Speaker 2: They were smooth up a Rata. 00:04:01 Speaker 4: That's a big song. But I feel like that one, to me is a stretch. I feel like I remember her, but like it doesn't feel like she was that big. 00:04:11 Speaker 5: Give me another song. She's a one hit wonder. 00:04:13 Speaker 2: I don't know another song, but I know that that was so big. I'm probably should bet out Lauren Hill. They're both like R and B singers, and Mariah Carey didn't make it. 00:04:22 Speaker 4: See Mariah Carey should be in way before saw Dad agree, Yeah, so Lauryn Hill too a Luther Vandross. I was surprised Luther Vandross wasn't already in true because it feels like to me, Luther Vandross has existed my entire lot, and every time I think of Luther Vandross, I think a King's of comedy when he goes, I like fat Luther, not skinny Luther. That's Cedric the entertainer. I think. 00:04:49 Speaker 2: Yeah. 00:04:50 Speaker 4: I don't, however, know a Luther Vandross song. 00:04:53 Speaker 2: Yeah you do one shining moment, Oh, of course, but that's not I mean, that's only with the turn. 00:05:01 Speaker 4: Do you know a song? 00:05:03 Speaker 2: Then he do some Disney songs, Disney movie songs like what I don't know, but. 00:05:10 Speaker 4: He feels like to me, someone that's really really famous. 00:05:13 Speaker 5: Or here's his greatest hits. 00:05:14 Speaker 3: I'm gonna name a few. You tell me if you know these songs? Okay, never too much, Nope, Endless Love. 00:05:20 Speaker 4: I know that song, my endless Love. 00:05:22 Speaker 3: Yes, dance with my Father. I'd rather here and now, always in forever. 00:05:30 Speaker 4: So I know always in forever. Okay, So that's two. 00:05:33 Speaker 3: Okay, So amazing a house is not a home, take you off, take you out. 00:05:41 Speaker 5: If only for one Okay, yeah, if only for one night. 00:05:45 Speaker 4: So I think he's one of those weird people, sort of like Wayne Newton, where like he's very, very popular, but I don't really know if his music is popular. 00:05:56 Speaker 2: That's a good way to put it. Sells out a lot of shows. But yet is it really talked about this? 00:05:59 Speaker 4: With Newton? He's massively popular and I'm not really sure what he sings either, So but I'm okay with him being in. And then Wu Tang Clan, I mean, they's nothing to blink with, so they're in. I mean it feels like I don't know how they're like thirty seven of those guys. Yeah, so but I'm okay with them being in too. Shannon, you're right with Wu Tang. 00:06:23 Speaker 6: Yeah. 00:06:23 Speaker 3: I mean, if we're putting everybody in, which we are, then I think they're a big enough name that you put them in. But I think you know, Sade Over, Mariah Carey come. 00:06:31 Speaker 4: On should not be in Come On, and I do it. I can't say that Joy Division shouldn't be in, but since I don't know who they are, I kind of don't think they should be in. Do you have a Joy Division song? 00:06:41 Speaker 5: I can play? One after the break We can you want. 00:06:44 Speaker 4: It right now? Well, I just didn't know the name of it. 00:06:48 Speaker 3: Love Will Tear Us Apart ninety two million views. Somebody knows it, it's not us. Well, if you want it, I can give you so far. 00:06:55 Speaker 5: Yeah, I know you. 00:07:03 Speaker 4: Love the Is this a professional song? It sounds like it's made in the garage, doesn't it. Yeah? This is no. This is terrible. 00:07:11 Speaker 3: And this is from their official YouTube account too. This isn't somebody who uploaded like a bad version of it. 00:07:16 Speaker 4: Yeah, that's bad, so I would take them out now. Phil Collins also got it. Yeah, of course he was the big name, Phil Collins. I think Genesis is already in, so we would be in twice. I'm good with Phil Collins. Oh yet I can't dance. Yeah, what were the others he did as a Soul in the Air Tonight in the Air to Night Big one. 00:07:34 Speaker 2: Yeah. 00:07:35 Speaker 4: Now, apparently Phil Collins and Oasis hate each other, oh really, like have sniped like Oasis for thirty years. They have talked trash about each other. Apparently like they're going in at the same time now, But they're part of the same class and people in Britain are saying like they're gonna have to keep them apart. I like that shit. I like that these two entities who don't like each other are part of the. 00:08:00 Speaker 5: I would put them on like back to back. 00:08:01 Speaker 3: That way they have to cross each other when they leave the stage and the next one enters. 00:08:05 Speaker 4: I think that's I think that's good. So there's your Rock Roll Hall of Fame update. 00:08:10 Speaker 2: Yeah. The big debate, I guess was the fact that they did not put him rya carry and Lauren him. 00:08:15 Speaker 4: Ry carry should be in. Yeah, certainly over Sabay. 00:08:18 Speaker 2: I think there was another female pink Ye was the one we'll get in eventually. Yeah. 00:08:22 Speaker 3: I don't feel like some of these people have been around long enough, but I guess they have. 00:08:25 Speaker 5: Twenty five years I guess is yeah, a long time. 00:08:29 Speaker 2: Yeah. 00:08:29 Speaker 4: All right, did you see what happened at the White House with the door dash yesterday? 00:08:34 Speaker 2: No, at the White House. 00:08:36 Speaker 4: So they were doing something and they tried to act like this, So a woman delivered McDonald's via door dash to the White House and they tried to act like it was random. Now, no one believes that's random, right, No, you can't just show up door dash, can't just show up at the White House and all of a sudden, they're standing next to the pro didn't go and here's your McDonald's. 00:09:01 Speaker 2: We know there's a lot of security you got to get through, right. 00:09:04 Speaker 4: So they had to have set that up. She was a grandmother. And then he it was about it was about how he wants to do no tax on tips. But there's a great moment that I want to make sure everybody sees because this is like a sweet little granny, right okay, And she's given him the door dash in the White House and she has a T shirt on that says grandmother does door dash and Shannon. While she's up there, you know, Trump starts talking about other stuff and then Trump is like, and we and we keep the men out of the girl's sports. And then he looks at this woman and goes, you don't want men in girls sports? Right, And she's like, I just brought the door dash. Good for her. She's like, I don't know anything about that. I just want the door dash. I love that because you know, she was like, I get to go to the White House. Yeah, here's door dash. The next thing you know, she's at a press conference. She and being asked questions and she's like, I just just here's your big naugh My. 00:10:11 Speaker 2: Name's been and I hanged in. 00:10:13 Speaker 3: It took a lot for her, probably not I mean for me though. I mean, if you're there in that situation, don't you want to say what you feel? Or would you? No, I'm just here for the DoorDash. Takes a lot of restraint on her part. Yeah, I would hear my grievances. 00:10:25 Speaker 4: I got the world wide well, but she might be worried the DoorDash will fire her. Yeah if she says the wrong thing, right, Yeah, I would just I would probably say what I felt. But I can understand why Granny didn't want to do that at the time. 00:10:38 Speaker 2: And he's like, just give me my tips. I can go back out and deliver my next delivery. 00:10:42 Speaker 4: Brian, go ahead, Brian, Oh yeah, can you hear me? Yes? 00:10:49 Speaker 7: Yeah, I got a couple of things. Wow, what do you think in you're all his opinion? What is the appeal of him really wanting to go to Kansas? I mean, I get it, it's Bill's self, But Bill self is the Biel self of you know years ago. I mean, he's had good teams, he hasn't really done a whole lot. And like he said, they don't have a team. I guess him and Tay Kenny's just going to pass the ball to each other. 00:11:10 Speaker 4: I think that people, I mean, from what I understand, I think players tend to really like Bill self. They have their own culture there that guys enjoy. I mean, I I do think a game environment at Kansas is probably better than any other place in the country, you know. I mean it's a question of why do you like anything? Right, Like I mean, some some people have different things that attract them, and you know, in recent years they've had a run of guys who've been very successful from there. So I mean, I that's my guess, right. 00:11:47 Speaker 7: And the other thing is is if he's a he's already signed a Nike contract. Wouldn't Nike have like red flag saying, hey, you want to go play for Adida School, but you know we signed you as to be a Nike representative. What what would that? 00:12:01 Speaker 4: I think that's a huge part of this. Yeah, I think that's a huge part of this. I appreciate the call. I mean, my assumption is Nike is saying to him, go to Kentucky. That's my assumption. 00:12:11 Speaker 2: I'm sure. I'm sure they're putting a lot of pressure on him. Yeah, I mean he signed you to this Nike deal. You gotta wear Nike to go to a Nike school. 00:12:19 Speaker 4: Yeah. Now, Kansas, I think I heard has put in the contract he can wear Nikes, that he can do it. He can wear Nike gear even if he wants to, but his uniform will have a Didas on it. 00:12:29 Speaker 2: But the caller is like the question, why would you go to Kansas? If you're a top recruit, probably the only schools you're looking at are like Kentucky, Kansas, Duke you knows, like. 00:12:39 Speaker 4: You know how Shannon, when we say Kansas were like that place sucks. 00:12:43 Speaker 5: Yeah it does. 00:12:44 Speaker 4: But if you live in California and you've never been here, you might think the same thing about Kentucky, you know. I mean, we love it, but to a lot of America, everything in between New York and LA is just land. 00:13:03 Speaker 5: Yeah, but we're Hollywood compared to Kansas. 00:13:05 Speaker 4: I agree with you, But if you've never been here, you wouldn't know that. 00:13:09 Speaker 5: No, you know what I mean, Kansas, they go oh okay, like go go. 00:13:13 Speaker 4: To New York or LA or Miami and just say you're from Kentucky and they'll go, oh, I must laugh at you. Kansas is the same way. So I mean a kid that's eighteen that's not been now he tiring has a connection to Kentucky obviously, yes, but but like we know, Kentucky's better than Kansas. But a lot of people wouldn't know that. 00:13:37 Speaker 2: And if you're a high profile basketball player like this, you're just worried about the arena, the atmosphere, your living conditions and your money are the heck with the rest of the city. 00:13:46 Speaker 4: Pete, go ahead, Pete. 00:13:49 Speaker 8: Hey guys, I didn't know if you all mentioned this late last week. I couldn't hear the show Friday. But coach French, Larry French as a last week, Uh yeah we did. 00:14:04 Speaker 4: We talked about him. We talked about him for a while. 00:14:06 Speaker 8: Yeah, okay, I apologize. That's okay, okay, I'm yeah, I'm sorry about it. He's uh he was just he touched so many kids and uh he won everywhere he went and uh just just just retired at Middlesbrough in January. So I just had to say to hear that. I really appreciate that. 00:14:24 Speaker 9: Of course, one other football thing, uh, I know, There's been a lot of talking about whether Cole Bridge was retained by UK. 00:14:34 Speaker 8: Football, and he was. He was a student assistant last year kind of turned around the tight end room and now he's a he's a grand assistant and that works directly for coach Stein. So, uh, I think the football program has went on this way. 00:14:49 Speaker 4: All right. I appreciate the call. Uh yeah. April is pet adoption days at Don Franklin and this month, for every new vehicle sold, Don frank WLI had donate fifty dollars to Kentucky Animal Shelter. You gotta love that, right, I love that. Uh. Don Franklin is driven by family. We dare you to find a better deal. Bluetok collar dollars meet off road grit. They got. The Franklin Truck League gets all there Don Franklin Auto dot Com. Check them out. Truck season meets trail season at Don Franklin Auto dot Com. He if I'm nine eighty seven, we'll take a break, be right back, KOSR. All right. So it's Shaw Day, not Sawday, shaw Day, And this is I have heard this. Oh yeah, this was big, but there's nothing else. 00:15:37 Speaker 3: No, right, And if we're putting in one hit wonders then when does Chumbawamba get in? 00:15:42 Speaker 4: Hopefully soon? 00:15:45 Speaker 5: I'd vote for them over those. 00:15:47 Speaker 4: I mean, this is a good song, but I don't know how you could say this should get in before Mariah care I. 00:15:52 Speaker 2: Don't know how you can either. Mariah Carey has massive hits. 00:15:55 Speaker 4: Yes, so a couple updates one the door Dash lay Yeah, apparently is a regular person Trump uses at events to be various jobs. Uh se, why do they do that, because like somebody's gonna find that out? Uh huh right, so just get someone else, someone where. I'm sure someone works at door Dash that likes Trump, right, just use them. 00:16:18 Speaker 3: But I wonder how they do that, Like with security though, Like if you're gonna give food to the president, that has to run through security to make sure you didn't. 00:16:25 Speaker 4: Know without a question. 00:16:26 Speaker 3: So I don't know how they could even door dash that to the president. I don't think they could, so we should have known that. 00:16:33 Speaker 4: Yeah, no, that's true. I mean, but like there are videos of her doing other things right at Trump events, so she's just a character. See, I thought she was just a sweet grandma doing dorty, So they thought they got me though, That's why they do it. But my point is in twenty twenty six, they're gonna people are gonna like if you have nothing to do, Shane, and they're gonna figure it out right of course. 00:16:55 Speaker 2: Yeah, she had the grandma T shirt on. 00:16:57 Speaker 4: She did her T shirt said she was woman. She might be a grandma. She just may not do door Yeah. 00:17:04 Speaker 5: Okay, I don't think she's a grandma. 00:17:07 Speaker 2: I think she's a liar. 00:17:10 Speaker 4: She just she was an event the other day saying Dad's for Trump? What are you doing? Uh? One person writes, Matt, did you see what the tactic the Rays pulled during bark in the park? Not during it before a couple of big plays and pitches. They would use a doorbell sound that is especially sensitive to dogs, so they would bark throughout the pitch. 00:17:32 Speaker 2: Oh that's awesome. 00:17:34 Speaker 4: Is that fair? 00:17:36 Speaker 2: It's your home field advantage? Yes, it's fair. 00:17:38 Speaker 4: Fair game, Shannon. Use a high pitched dog sound. 00:17:42 Speaker 3: You're the baseball player, and you can't throw a strike because a dog is barking. 00:17:46 Speaker 5: That's on you. 00:17:47 Speaker 3: You can't blame the stadium or the fans or anybody else for that or the dog. 00:17:50 Speaker 4: Interesting. 00:17:53 Speaker 2: I love it. Great trick. 00:17:55 Speaker 4: Thank you. Text machine for telling me that who you got Ryan, Alex Cooper, ol Earl? 00:18:01 Speaker 2: Who are these? Who are these two people? 00:18:02 Speaker 4: I knew that was gonna be his answer. 00:18:05 Speaker 2: Who's Alex Earl and Olex Coopy? 00:18:06 Speaker 4: You don't know who either one of them? Do not? Okay? Do you know who they are? Neither does? Mario. See it's a good intersection. Mario. Ryan doesn't know them because they're young. Mario doesn't know them because they're white. I think they am I wrong? Probably probably not. I don't know who exactly there there. I don't know. They're just in there like TikTok people. Have you ever heard of Call Her Daddy? 00:18:34 Speaker 2: No? 00:18:35 Speaker 4: You have, I've heard that podcast. It's like the biggest podcast for women. No, so you've not heard of anything. 00:18:41 Speaker 2: I don't listen to me. 00:18:44 Speaker 4: She does that then Alex Earl, I will say to you, I don't know why this woman is famous. 00:18:49 Speaker 2: So both the Alex she just puts on makeups. 00:18:51 Speaker 4: Both of them makeup Alex with a knee and one has an eye. Point is they're. 00:18:58 Speaker 5: Fighting over what? 00:19:00 Speaker 4: Don't know? 00:19:02 Speaker 5: We don't know. 00:19:03 Speaker 2: Now we gotta find out. 00:19:04 Speaker 4: So this this is the for some reason, I think this is interesting they're fighting, and apparently they fought for a long time and nobody knows why they're fighting. So one Alex went on TikTok and said, I'm tired of other Alex acting like I did something wrong. If you're gonna say I did something wrong, just say it, stop hitting at it. And then the other Alex responds, Okay, it's coming. So there you go. 00:19:28 Speaker 2: And that's where we stand right now. 00:19:29 Speaker 4: I think that's where we stand. 00:19:31 Speaker 2: America awaits what Alex did to the other Alex. I'm so I'm going to go to sleep tonight I find out what the one Alex did on TikTok to the other Alex. 00:19:41 Speaker 4: You is to get Ryan to research this and give us a report tomorrow. 00:19:47 Speaker 5: Well that's what we should do. 00:19:48 Speaker 4: Then how about we do that. 00:19:50 Speaker 2: Okay, you do a little research right on Alex, Alex with an I and Ax with a E versus Alex. 00:19:58 Speaker 4: Okay, and tomorrow people who are like you. I think we have a lot of listeners who have no idea of these people no idea and do not care. Yeah, but you're gonna make them care. 00:20:07 Speaker 2: I'm gonna make them care. 00:20:09 Speaker 4: Well that's your homework. 00:20:09 Speaker 2: Okay, I got it Alex versus out all research as much as I can find. 00:20:13 Speaker 4: Well, while the rest of us are looking to see what Rob Wright does, you figure out what the Cooper Earl battled. 00:20:19 Speaker 2: But if the one Alex won't divulge why she's mad at the other Alex. 00:20:23 Speaker 4: Is the kind of thing you he's a reporter, shait, and this is the kind of thing he needs to You need to dig into it, getting the reddit threads. 00:20:31 Speaker 2: All the reddit threads. There you go, be my first time. 00:20:34 Speaker 9: Good luck, Joe, go ahead, Joe, Yeah, man, I'm notting to get your take on what's to look like with Tyram Stokes making more money than Pope next year? 00:20:48 Speaker 4: What is Pope mag next year? 00:20:50 Speaker 2: Like five million a year, isn't it? 00:20:52 Speaker 4: What's the what's the Pope amount? Do you know, sir? Appreciate the call? I thought, yes, sir, go ahead? Do you know? 00:21:04 Speaker 9: Yeah, I think it's right at five million? 00:21:09 Speaker 4: Okay, I appreciate the call. I would say, if that's true, Tyron Stokes could be the first player in college to ever make more than this coach Wow, wow, Bill South makes a lot more than that, so that would be but yeah, that's a really really interesting thought. Although I don't know a j. Devonsa might make more than the guy at b YU because he made six so Debons I'd be interested to see with the BYU. But they paid that BYU coach a lot of money. 00:21:43 Speaker 2: I don't if you made that much, that. 00:21:44 Speaker 4: Would be interesting. Let's see, what's the BYU coach make nine million? So no, the BYU coach makes nine million a year. That can't be right football? Okay, still surprises. 00:22:03 Speaker 2: He was my goodness. 00:22:07 Speaker 4: Formal. So then Debonsa has already been the first because debons have made more than four Yes, okay, interesting though I had never thought about it like that, Jacob, go ahead. 00:22:17 Speaker 10: Jacob, Hey guys, uh? One, do we know Rob Wright is still on campus as of Yes he is. 00:22:28 Speaker 4: He is on campus as of now. Yeah. 00:22:32 Speaker 10: And two is Jeff Goodman like a fan of the Wildcats or does he like Mark Poper? Does he not? Because I mean I get mixed signals from that guy, and I. 00:22:42 Speaker 4: Don't think he's a fan of the go ahead, what'd you say? No Cats? All right? I don't think he's a fan of Wildcats, but I do think he likes Mark Popolott. I appreciate the. 00:22:54 Speaker 2: Call and he's come around to our even our fans I think are more opened the liking Jeff Goodman. 00:23:01 Speaker 4: Yeah, Jeff didn't like Cal. 00:23:04 Speaker 2: That's the key, and that turned our didn't like. 00:23:07 Speaker 4: Jeff, and that was a very strong dislike both ways. 00:23:12 Speaker 2: So our fans took Cal side as. 00:23:14 Speaker 4: They as did. I yes, but now that Cal's gone. The thing about all these national guys, we drive the revenue, so they're gonna engage with us. If they can't, and he does, we'll take a break right back. KOSR. TJ. Smith, personal injury attorney called TJ. He'll make them pay. 00:23:36 Speaker 11: Now. 00:23:37 Speaker 3: More of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage. 00:23:40 Speaker 5: Here's Matt Jones. 00:23:43 Speaker 4: I do like Oasis. I mean I only know this song and Champagne super Nova. 00:23:50 Speaker 5: You don't know any others. You probably know a bunch of other ones. Tell me don't look back in anger. It was awesome one. 00:23:57 Speaker 4: Yeah, right, there's three anymore. 00:24:00 Speaker 5: I mean there's other ones, but I don't think you would know them. 00:24:03 Speaker 4: So I know three. 00:24:04 Speaker 5: You probably do. You probably know that. 00:24:05 Speaker 4: I do like this song, though I've been like like when you Hey Bear Bear, Yeah, I like that. 00:24:12 Speaker 2: This was huge, man is huge. 00:24:15 Speaker 4: When I was in college. 00:24:16 Speaker 2: Don't think they're ever close to the Beatles, but they're big. 00:24:18 Speaker 4: No, huge, like everybody in college you walk down the halls. Yeah, they were listening to Oasis, you. 00:24:26 Speaker 2: Can think in the nineties. It's kind of what you think of that. To me, Oasis is always one of them. 00:24:30 Speaker 4: All right, real quick for a lot of people on the phone, and I do want to talk to these people. We got to talk about having it Chevid Chase, Oh yeah, all right, So how would you describe Ryan as a real turn in Lexington? How would you describe the people many of whom are listening so be careful, The people who live in Chevy Chase. 00:24:46 Speaker 2: Uh, kind of an upper scale, upper scale, high end uh, upper income area. 00:24:53 Speaker 4: Old Louisville though, Yeah, because like I consider it people who have some money but also like want to be kind of in the city. Yes, you know, because a lot of people move out to the sub like farther areas, but these people are still in the city, older. 00:25:10 Speaker 2: Houses, older houses. You're still close enough to downtown. You feel like you're still part of the town. 00:25:13 Speaker 4: You can kind of walk around places. 00:25:15 Speaker 2: But these houses are just these massive, beautiful some of. 00:25:19 Speaker 4: Them are Yeah, some of some of them are some of them are old, Like everything's worth a lot of money because of the location. Correct, But some of the houses they're older, some of them are beautiful and large, depending on where you are, a. 00:25:31 Speaker 2: Lot of people like to buy the older houses and then just pimp them out, gut it. 00:25:35 Speaker 4: And gut it and redo it again. So they wanted to build a rehab facility in Chevy check uh And I guess those people lost their minds, some of them, right. 00:25:49 Speaker 2: Yes, A lot of the neighborhood has gathered around to prevent this from happening because they don't want that in their neighborhood. 00:25:56 Speaker 4: Now, there's this thing called Nimbi's Shannon, not in my backyard? Oh did you know that was a phrase. It tends to be applied to people who on paper are pretty liberal, but are like, I want this to happen, just not here, not in my backyard. Okay. So I'm for people having rehab, just keep. 00:26:22 Speaker 2: Them away from me my neighbors. 00:26:24 Speaker 4: So Nimby is kind of considered somewhat of a hypocritical thing. 00:26:27 Speaker 2: Yes, yeah, I can see the VII that you think that. 00:26:30 Speaker 4: No, I mean, this is a California is the King of Nimby's California wants everybody to have everything, but just get it away from me. Right, what do you make of the Chevy Chase? You would agree we need rehab facility? Yes, and this is I think for eating disorders primarily, but apparently it could do other stuff. So that's what they're worried about. 00:26:51 Speaker 2: I think that's what the worry about. It could be for drug alcohol rehab. 00:26:55 Speaker 4: Okay, but would you argue there's gonna be people who live in Chevy Chase, We're gonna need drug and alcohol rehab. Yeah? Probably, yes, right, everybody does. 00:27:07 Speaker 2: Sure. 00:27:09 Speaker 4: Wouldn't you agree that, like, people who need drug and alcohol rehab are part of the. 00:27:13 Speaker 2: Community, very much part of the community. 00:27:15 Speaker 4: Wouldn't you agree that the best chance to get those people back on their feet is to have them be part of a place that is not considered outsiders and a way and like get away from us. You're embarrassing very much. So where do you come out on it? 00:27:34 Speaker 2: My name's Bennett and I ain't in it. 00:27:35 Speaker 4: No, No, I asked you a question, Shannon. I asked him a question I know, like a true an opinion show. He wants to be mayor one day. I mean, these are going to be the kind of issues that would probably come up as mayor. Do you think all of the city should be a place where we can have rehab facilities or do you have to put it somewhere to hide it from people? 00:28:00 Speaker 2: This is really my opinion. I think they're also worried about the traffic and the parking. 00:28:06 Speaker 4: And it's fifty people. Yeah, it's a fifty band facility. I ain't gonna have that much. 00:28:10 Speaker 2: Trap without That's what their argument they're trying to use that we don't want to we don't want. 00:28:13 Speaker 4: That sounds like to me, of all the arguments, that's the fakest one. It's fifty people. 00:28:17 Speaker 2: Yeah, they're trying to tie it all together. 00:28:19 Speaker 4: How many cars can fifty people have? Fifty fifty? 00:28:23 Speaker 2: And the workers the workers cars? 00:28:26 Speaker 4: What do you mean the worker Okay, seventy. 00:28:28 Speaker 2: Yeah, so that's one. 00:28:31 Speaker 4: So you've car to build a parking lot that has seventy spots. 00:28:33 Speaker 2: Yeah, and which is not conducive to the Chevy Chase neighborhood. 00:28:38 Speaker 4: What does that mean? 00:28:39 Speaker 2: You know, have a parking lot and it's this beautiful area of big trees. Ye, tell me, there's the way it approved. 00:28:46 Speaker 4: You're tell me there's nowhere in Chevy Chase has a parking lot. I don't believe that. 00:28:49 Speaker 2: Maybe not a seventy car parking lot. 00:28:51 Speaker 4: Okay, so that's one. So are you This is all ultimately a question. Are you on the neighbors side or do you think the the rehab facility? There was a camera here he is I've never seen him this smart, nervous because there may be people who want to you buy a house with you. 00:29:13 Speaker 5: Yes, here you are putting on the situation with that, you know. 00:29:18 Speaker 2: My side hustle. 00:29:20 Speaker 4: You know you don't want to comment. 00:29:22 Speaker 2: I don't want to comment. 00:29:24 Speaker 4: Okay. A lot of people hope then their future mayor to have someone who takes positions. Yeah, but you're taking no position. 00:29:32 Speaker 2: If I had to vote today. 00:29:34 Speaker 4: I mean there were six people on the board. They voted last night. I will tell you the vote in a minute, but go ahead. 00:29:39 Speaker 2: I would vote to allow the center. Okay, So you took a position I didn't want to. 00:29:46 Speaker 4: Okay. They voted four to two to move on with the thing and got booed yeah by the crowd. The crowd booed them vociferously. 00:29:56 Speaker 2: And I can't I gotta be careful what I say. A lot of the people live in that area are older, okay, wealthy, okay, and I don't think they want that looking out their back window and see us in a center like that, I understand. 00:30:12 Speaker 4: Well. My perspective comes from going down to eastern Kentucky when I was writing my book Yeah, and going to these towns that put the rehab facility in the middle of the city. And when I asked why, they said, in order for people to accept the amount of drug addiction we have here, we can't hide these people in the corner. We need them integrated into society. Being part of society helps them get better so they don't feel like they're outcasts and worthless. And we think it's very important to have because these same fights happened in small towns all over eastern Kentucky and the one and over time, the ones that were successful were the ones that were in the community. So I like that. The other thing I would say is if you go stick them somewhere where else, people live there. 00:31:01 Speaker 2: Too, true, right, Yeah, people live there too. 00:31:05 Speaker 4: Why why can't it be in your backyard? Why are you asking? Why are you wanting to go to the poor part of town, and people put everybody there, right. 00:31:14 Speaker 2: I think it's just that perception that the Chevy Chase neighborhood is one of the elite of the elite. 00:31:18 Speaker 4: Well, then drug addiction hits the elite of the elite. Shut like, deal with it. 00:31:24 Speaker 2: Uh huh. 00:31:26 Speaker 4: Go look at eastern Kentucky. Go look at the inner cities. Go look at how they have to deal with drug addiction. Don't block it out of your mind by not putting it where you live. Oh that's not us yet, it is your people. 00:31:38 Speaker 2: Get addicted to One of my favorite Do you agree with that? 00:31:42 Speaker 4: Yes? Why do we always think everything bad in town? We got to go put it where the poor people are. 00:31:46 Speaker 2: Right, it can be everywhere, absolutely, and it may even be more successful if you have it in a better area. 00:31:55 Speaker 4: Will you're no, it not may it will be more successful. Huh Right. 00:32:01 Speaker 2: My favorite, One of my favorite parts of your book is you talked about I can't remember in the town that there's Louisa. Louisa. They had that facility in downtown and like they worked, They had an area where they like was it a restaurant or something on the lower level they work. 00:32:13 Speaker 4: And the city embraced it. Now there have been problems with that facility since I wrote that book. So I'm not taking up for everything there, but the principle of it I think makes it so so. 00:32:25 Speaker 2: So what about the argument like that just the I sore of it doesn't fit the neighborhood. What chevy Chase is meant to stand for? 00:32:34 Speaker 4: What's it meant to stand for? 00:32:37 Speaker 5: Nice houses? 00:32:38 Speaker 4: Yeah? 00:32:40 Speaker 2: Nice older houses that look awesome. 00:32:41 Speaker 4: Well, I don't know about the I don't know what it looks like. I mean, I can understand saying okay, can you fit the design patterns or the whatever, huh okay. I have some sympathy to that, and if I'm the builder, I go, okay, I try to fit into that as much as possible. 00:32:55 Speaker 5: To look at old house. 00:32:57 Speaker 4: Yeah, I actually don't think that's an unreasonable requests. But the idea of get these people out of here is offensive to me, and liberals are the most hypocritical about it. People on my side we want to give people, but we were like, as long as it's not me that has to suffer. Yeah, right, And I don't think that's. 00:33:17 Speaker 2: Gonna make my life uncom yeah exactly. 00:33:19 Speaker 4: I want everything just don't make me have to deal with it. And I think that's I think that's hypocritical. 00:33:27 Speaker 2: Good discussion. 00:33:29 Speaker 4: You certainly got nervous about it. Gary in Orlando, Go ahead, Gary, Oh. 00:33:34 Speaker 6: Good morning, gentlemen. Uh the thing with the sheets hanging on the front porch, Yes, we were on campus. Yes, kind of takes me back to It takes me back to when George was big and everybody was cutting their jeans off and making shorts out of them. And at our group in Orlando, we ordered a bunch of koozies that were looked like blue jean pockets that were made out of blue jean material, and we'd all take those to the game watches and yell every time he did something great. But that's what that kind of remembers you reminds me of. My question for you, Matt, is how comfortable are you with Myron's take on some of his podcasts? Some of them seem pretty controversial. 00:34:21 Speaker 4: Well, I haven't are you talking about on the show he does with me or somewhere else? 00:34:25 Speaker 6: No, No, I see a lot of things that he does separate of your show, independently, and and and a lot of them seem to be pretty controversial. 00:34:37 Speaker 4: He's a pretty uncontroversial person. Using him with like stephen A or BOUMANI. 00:34:44 Speaker 6: No, No, Myron is about five ft eight or nine and is probably waves a while I weigh, and I mean, I know you're confusing him. 00:34:55 Speaker 4: Myron does not weigh what you weigh. Myron's a lot bigger than you. 00:35:00 Speaker 6: Well, that's I was trying to be kind. 00:35:02 Speaker 4: And I don't I've worked with I don't. I can't think of a time Myron has said much controversial, certainly not about me. All Right, if you show me something, Gary, send it to me. I mean, I will say this. My position is gonna be Myron can do what he wants. Like he I'm much more controversial than Myron, and he accepts me, so I'm gonna accept him. You know. 00:35:29 Speaker 6: Yeah, well he he uh one of them. I saw he took on stephen A. I mean, like, and I. 00:35:37 Speaker 4: Think you're talking about Honestly, I appreciate the call Myron. I don't know that he's ever even been on a show with Steven A. I really don't. I think you're talking about somebody else. 00:35:48 Speaker 2: Myron makes a cameo in the March into Madness documentary that just came out with Bill self. Yeah yeah, asked Bill self about Darren Peterson Myron and. 00:35:59 Speaker 4: I can't think of when he I don't even know if he even knows Stephen so ah, well, I know work co worker. I don't know who Stephen Aismith. 00:36:10 Speaker 11: Uh. 00:36:10 Speaker 4: If you're checking out the odds at Keeland this week, one thing you want to bet don't want to bet against is your skin health. Aren't you being hypocritical? Let me just say, first of all, Shannon, you know where I live. Yeah, I've been amongst them. Yeah, all right, I've been amongst them for twenty years. I grew up in Middlesbrough, Kentucky. I was around people in a community that I have watched be devastated by drug and alcohol addiction. I've been around alcohol addiction in my extended family, my entire life. I lived in the Highlands, which I was walking in Saturday, and has it everywhere. My place in Kentucky, in Lexington, is in downtown Lexington. Yes, so I've been around it and lived and loved it. Not love the addiction, but loved living in a That's part when you choose to live in a city, that's part of what you're choosing. You get positives and then you get negatives. I bought a house somewhere else because I wanted to be away from people. But when you choose to live in Chevy Chase, you are now amongst people right, that's part of what you're choosing when you live among If you want to live away from people, there are places, but I'll go ahead and say where I live. If if it changed, it changes. I think it's reasonable for the people in that community to want them to keep the place safe. I think that's completely reasonable. Yeah, to want them to keep it clean, completely reasonable. If they want it to have a certain look, I'm alright with that. But like I've spent a lot of time around and they are they are your neighbors, and I'm I'm okay with it. And when I can considered, you know, you know I looked at houses in Chevy Chase. 00:39:03 Speaker 2: Yes you did. 00:39:03 Speaker 4: Part of what I was understanding is these are houses where like you're in the city. 00:39:07 Speaker 2: Yes, you know, like we said during the break, it's what you sign up for them, that's what. 00:39:11 Speaker 4: You sign up for. And honestly I wanted, you know, I wanted a house in Chevy Chase. This could have been me at the meeting and I would have been Shannon standing up and saying, yes, you. 00:39:24 Speaker 5: Had been running the meeting, Yeah, I would. 00:39:26 Speaker 4: I would establish points of order. So so yeah, I mean I'm that I would. I would certainly and have certainly lived what I'm preaching here, as have you, to be honest, Ryan, So I I think you're not You do more than people realize. 00:39:46 Speaker 2: So it's this neighborhood we're talking about people that don't know that don't live in Lexington. It is the elite where the people want to go. You want to you want to go live in Chevy Chase. 00:39:57 Speaker 4: And I did too. But when you when you want to live in Chevy Chase, you're making a couple of trade offs. You're gonna get less house than you can get somewhere else for your money because of where you are. True right, you're gonna be close to the city, but because you're close to the city, you're gonna. 00:40:11 Speaker 2: Be part of the city. 00:40:13 Speaker 4: And I'm just saying, and I have many many friends in Chevy Chase, but you don't. You don't get the advantages of being a close to the city without having to deal with the rest of it too. 00:40:22 Speaker 2: Very true. 00:40:23 Speaker 4: You know that's that's light Scott, Go ahead, Scott. 00:40:28 Speaker 12: Hey, guys, great day to be a Wildcat fan. I agree as far as that goes. 00:40:35 Speaker 4: I completely agree with that. 00:40:37 Speaker 12: Yeah, I feel like big things are coming, maybe not from Stokes. But there's a lot of fish out there, so I think we'll be all right. I do have one question. I fear I've missed some information on big Man JQ. All I heard is stocks falling. Have y'all heard anything else? 00:40:55 Speaker 6: I have not. 00:40:56 Speaker 4: I have not we stock his falling in the draft. I don't know where people have thought about him. I'd heard people say, well, will he come back? My assumption is he's not here. I've never considered that he wouldn't be, have. 00:41:11 Speaker 2: You somebody asked me that yesterday. They said that he's not aired the draft, and he's not aired the transfer portal. 00:41:17 Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, I So to answer your question, I appreciate the call. I've not heard one thing that would suggest that he's anything. I think Jack Pilgrim wrote that he would not be. 00:41:27 Speaker 2: Yeah, but there's a lot of dudes. 00:41:29 Speaker 4: I think they haven't officially entered the draft. Yeah. I saw just Caleb Wilson, I think just did this morning. 00:41:35 Speaker 2: Oh he did. Yeah, Well that's we had who we are? We we conspiracy theorist. 00:41:40 Speaker 4: Larry. You got about a minute real quick. 00:41:44 Speaker 11: Yes you're talking to me, Yes, okay, I'm gonna talk about Stokes. I love to get the kid, but at the same time, I don't see us waiting two weeks and missing out out on all the other players to get him. You look at the final four, how many of them is a top five draft pick? 00:42:09 Speaker 4: Look at the final four? All right, well none this year, but that but last year, last year, Cooper Flag con Kinnipple, they were in it. So it depends this year or not, but some years they have been. 00:42:22 Speaker 11: But I just, I mean, I'd love to get it. It'd be great to get get it, but at the same time, you don't want to miss out on the other players. 00:42:28 Speaker 4: Are I agree. It's a tough it's a tough call. It's a completely tough I appreciate the call. It's a tough call. And uh, this is a tough call that I don't think I'm gonna have time to do Draft Kings. We'll do it tomorrow soon. Uh tomorrow we will be at ks Bar. Trivia is Thursday nine. Get your team ready. 00:42:44 Speaker 2: Get your team ready. 00:42:45 Speaker 4: Are you playing? 00:42:46 Speaker 2: I'm winning. I'm not just playing win at confidence. 00:42:50 Speaker 4: I like that confidence. We'll see you Layers Big Kentucky Sports Radio
