Speaker 3: Welcome to our two of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage. Now here's Matt Jones quarterback.

00:01:06
Speaker 4: It is out number two KSR right if I'm nine two eight oh twenty two eighty seven text machine seven seven two seven seven four five two five four h one person writes, Matt, you callers call in and have a different opinion than you, and you argue with them. You should just let them say their opinion. Well, I'm not the best at that, I grant you, but uh, but you know, I think it's important for people, especially on these positions that really matter, like these positions whether or not you should fire coach, to really think through your opinion, because it's easy to say things in abstract that when then placed in reality, are much are much harder. I wish, coach. I wish we did that with coaches. I wish rather than just like, think about how unsatisfying answers from coaches are at press conferences, like you ask them a question and then they just answer. Wouldn't it be a lot better if you could go, yeah, but what this? What about this? You would be able to get at the heart of what the issue is rather than just like coach speak. It's the same thing with this, so yeah, I mean, could I do a better job? I'm sure I could but I think at this point, you know I'm gonna do that. But I also think it's like, Okay, it's easy to go, well, we shouldn't give him that contract. Okay, but let's think about the decision that was actually made. I think you owe it to people to think about how hard a decision something is before you just say it's terrible.

00:02:34
Speaker 2: It's hard to go back in time and put yourself in that moment when that was going on. Mitch Barnhardt could not let Stoops go at that moment. At that point, he couldn't. He had to sign him to a big contract to lock him up because he's the best we've ever had.

00:02:45
Speaker 5: Here.

00:02:45
Speaker 4: Let me give you another example. Drew Paul writes and says, the problem is not the nine million a year. The problem is the buy out should be ten to fifteen percent of the value of the contract so you can get out of financially detrimental contracts. Okay. Somebody would read that and go, sure, that makes sense, except no one's gonna agree to that. Who's gonna sign No coach is gonna sign it, because the cont It's like in the NFL. In the NFL, you'll read that someone signs for two hundred and twenty million dollars, but they're not getting two hundred and twenty million dollars. You have to ask yourself what is the guaranteed amount of the contract, because in the NFL, contracts are fake. If you signed Mark Stoops to a seventy million dollar contract and you only guarantee ten million dollars, then you have signed him to a ten million dollar contract. And so coaches aren't gonna do that, Drew, and.

00:03:40
Speaker 6: You're you're big on leverage. Stoops had a lot of leverage then, and he did. You could have put that out in front of him, and his agent would have said, don't sign that. We can do better than that. Look what you've just done.

00:03:49
Speaker 4: Here, and he has. By the way, just as a side note, he has the best agent in sports. His his agent. You know how I used to say I was my agent's worst client. He is his agent's worst client. His client. His agent represents all the big coaches in college football, all of them. Lane Kiffin, the guy at Alabama Diabo, Marcus Marcus his worst client. If you go look at the top ten highest paid coaches, I think that guy like manages seven of them. Wow, so you know, we got the hardest dude to negotiate with. That's just kind of how it is.

00:04:25
Speaker 2: Right And like we said, Mitch did what he had to do at that moment. And people that want to make a change, you know, be careful what you wish for, you know, all.

00:04:34
Speaker 4: Right, I want everyone to do me a favor. This is I don't ask people for many favors, but I'm gonna ask you a favor. Okay, pull out your phone here, No no, no, no, you pull out your phone? Are you? Everybody? Get your phone out out, phones out, phones out. Those of you watching here and get your phones out. ESPN after seven years of me haranguing them for it, has given Myron and I our own podcast feed WHOA. After seven years of me going, will you just put our show up on podcast, they finally decided to do it. So I'm just asking you a favor. I hope you'll listen to it because I think the shows are really good. But what I really would like initially because they're gonna look, is for all of us to subscribe. Uh huh, So if you will go to whatever you use Apple Spotify, this is the one thing I'm asking of you. I won't ask you another thing before Christmas, except probably to like buy one of the products. But besides that, go to Sunday Morning with Matt and Myren. That's the feat and just hit subscribe and then if you want to listen to it, that would be awesome. If you want to rate it, review it, like it, that would be even better. But I'll let you decide that. All I'm asking is that you subscribe to it Sunday Mornings with Matt and Myron. Now I see that, yep, are you do you subscribing?

00:05:50
Speaker 2: I am subscribing.

00:05:51
Speaker 4: Did you subscribe? Mario? Did you do it? I saw you do it. Drew Shannon, have you done it?

00:05:57
Speaker 3: I am now a proud subscriber of Sunday Mornings.

00:05:59
Speaker 4: That all right? That would be very helpful, and also you can check it out. We had a really good show yesterday where we talked about books of the Bible. So it wasnl you need to talk about books of the Bible, and we were talking about what our favorite books of the Bible. What was yours? Well, I've said this before. Ecclesiastes is my favorite book of the Bible. Sort of talks about the the sort of why life is not forever, and there's a time for everything in life. But then also to remember that ultimately we are part of a bigger picture. I really like ecclesiastic What is yours? Uh?

00:06:40
Speaker 2: I like patients of Job? I'm a job guy. You like the patients of job or the book of the Book of Job Patients.

00:06:47
Speaker 4: I think you're the first person I've ever heard say job to the answer to that question. But I feel like watching your lips though you were trying to think of a book of the Bible.

00:06:57
Speaker 2: I almost said songs, but there's a lot of psalms. I don't know whatever. Read all the rank your songs?

00:07:02
Speaker 6: So rank yours?

00:07:04
Speaker 2: Well?

00:07:04
Speaker 4: You know it.

00:07:06
Speaker 2: We won't have much time here on this.

00:07:07
Speaker 4: You don't like to compete them against each other?

00:07:08
Speaker 2: Yeah, we got a lot of them. There's a lot of songs.

00:07:12
Speaker 4: What's the twenty third? That's the big one? Right? Oh?

00:07:15
Speaker 2: Yeah, I guess so sure? What is it?

00:07:20
Speaker 4: Does? Five? Two? Five seven? One? Today? All right, let's talk just a second about basketball. Arkansas and Duke played preseason games. Both of them look good for different reasons. First of all, uh, let's start with Arkansas. They win eighty five sixty nine over Kansas. Now, Kansas was without their three best players, so there is a sense in which you know you gotta take it with a grain of salt. But Boogie Flan, their freshman who was gonna come here, looked really really good. DJ Wagner look good. They win. Arkansas fans were crowing in my mentions all weekend. I have more archet. I used to think Louisville fans followed me the most. I now think Tennessee, Arkansas, and Auburn are the three that because they just my Auburn from that time I said they weren't. Remember when I said they're not camped out for Auburn, They're camped out for US. And then Arkansas as well. I didn't watch the game. Do you watched it? Are you scared of you did? Did you watch?

00:08:23
Speaker 6: I will say I caught. I went to Arkansas's Twitter because they tweeted so many highlights, so I saw Hogs all the key plays not I couldn't afford Hogs. Plus I'm just I like the free Hogs. Uh, there was more of a just based on seeing highlights. Boogie Flann does look very good and DJ made a jump that we'll all be happy for him, and we'll see all the season goes. But DJ looks like he's very improved. My biggest takeaway was there's a clip where big Z throws a beautiful outlet pass that hits a do in stride and he swings on the rim. And I'll admit, even though I want Arkansas to lose most of their games, I thought good for those two. I mean, it was made a little jealous because I wanted both those guys to stay, but I was happy for those two playing well and DJ playing well. But overall, I still kind of like, we don't want to overreact too much with what happened here. We'll still see what happens with Arkansas. But I mean, you can't argue that if you're a fan, that looked good for them.

00:09:14
Speaker 4: Yeah, they got to be happy about that. Duke beat Arizona State one to three to forty nine. Whoa duke. You look at the highlights of them. I mean, Cooper Flag wasn't even their best player yesterday. Like they they got a chance to be really good. Now they're all freshmen, they're young. But that team we play on November twelfth, that's gonna be a good test because now now Arizona State might as well quit. You can't lose by fifty four points. I don't care if it's an exhibition game or not. At some point you got to be like, all right, I have some pride here, folks when you're an Arizona State. But Duke looks like they may be good too.

00:09:52
Speaker 2: I worry about that Duke game. I don't know if I'll pick Kentucky to maybe win that one, but I think Duke is definitely one of the best teams in the country.

00:09:57
Speaker 4: Would you rather us in our exhibition game? Now you saw much fun we had against Kentucky State. We got Minnesota State Man Cato tomorrow, and I would you rather us play two home games against those teams or play like good teams in games that don't count one and roup one somewhere else? What would you rather do?

00:10:16
Speaker 2: I think I would like one of each. I think I would like one against I can't get one.

00:10:20
Speaker 4: Of each, though, because you're gonna teams are gonna want you to come to their place.

00:10:24
Speaker 2: It would be kind of cool, though, if we did a home and home with Kansas for two scrimmage games to get us ready for the season. You kind of get kind of really get an idea what kind of team you've got going into the Duke game, So you'd rather do that probably.

00:10:37
Speaker 6: I think so. I'm same as fun as that was watching them beat Wesleyan by seventy one. I was a little jealous of, like Tennessee fans having a game to be excited about yesterday, Arkansas had weeks looking to forward playing Kansas. I would I think I'd like to try that, playing with a big name that doesn't matter, Yeah, the game.

00:10:54
Speaker 4: I think I would too. I do wonder if that's where this is all going now. Now. Maybe part of it is we won't do it because we can get the crowds we get for their games, whereas I think these other teams when they play exhibition games, no one comes, so they don't make any money. We actually can make money. So I don't know, but like if you look around, a lot of the big teams are doing that now. A lot of the big teams are playing each other in these games, and to be interesting to see if that makes you end up being back. You used to not be able to do that. This is only in the last two or three years that they even let you do it. I think they started letting you do it during COVID. But if you look around, there's a lot of those that Tennessee played Indiana yesterday in Indiana one at Tennessee. Tennessee shot really poorly in the game. But I kind of think that's what I want to do too, Ryan, even though it's weird.

00:11:42
Speaker 2: Would I would hate to lose that game against Trancy, Georgetown, Kentucky Wesley In. But if you're think about getting your team ready, you know you want to play I think one those high profile games.

00:11:50
Speaker 4: Yeah, so we'll see if that ends up being what we do in the future. Who's next? Shit? Rick? Rick, go ahead?

00:11:56
Speaker 5: Rick, Hey man, guys, and George show hey listen. You know, you think back over the years, Stoops has been dealt a pretty big bucket load of crap in the last calendar year. If you think about all the things that have happened, you know, the Cohen Cohen leaving and the pony up thing, even though it was poorly timed, even a blind man could see that he's right. And then you know, things like the probation and sometimes I wonder if he looks around and sees UT's ad and some of the ads in the Southeastern Conference fighting for the programs, and yet it seems like nich really, you know, just sort of lays down and takes it from the NCAA. But I guess the point is there's a whole lot of stuff that happens, and we can't control all that happens, but we can sure control how we respond. And when I hear coach Stoops, who is a fighter, sort of respond in a way like he's beaten, that that disturbs me.

00:12:54
Speaker 4: And that's a really good point. That's a really good point. It's so against his personality to respect on the way he's responded in the last few weeks.

00:13:02
Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah he can. He could. He could respond because in a positive, angry fighting way and just prove to everybody how long they are. He's got that in him. And the and the truth of it is, Matt, these people that want to get rid of him. I've been around watching Kentucky football for sixty years, and my my faith in the ad hiring a better football coach than we have right now is absolutely nil. We'd better hang on to the one guy that's got a chance of doing something with us.

00:13:37
Speaker 4: I appreciate the call. I mean, they're not they're gonna hang on to him unless he decides not to be hung on too. I mean, they're not They're just not gonna fire him. And you know, it's again. It feels like this is the same conversation we had back in February March, where after the basketball games, people would go, Matt, say what needs to be said? Say Caliperry needs to be fired. And I was like, it was It was crazy to me at the time because I didn't even Kyle and I weren't even getting along, and I'm like, but we can't say it. We're not gonna fire him, Like, we're just not gonna do it. And the same thing's happening now after the game. You know, look on social media, Matt don't Why didn't he just say they need to be Look at what difference is gonna make if I say it. I don't mean, first of all, I don't even know if I believe it. And if I say that, he's not gonna be fired, this is going to be his decision. The reason I kind of wonder if he's gonna be back is he doesn't that that caller hit it. He is a fighter in his heart, He's that Youngstown fight. I remember Tim Ryan, the guy that is a congressman who ran against Jade Vans Perciding. He went to high school with Mark Stoops. When I met uh Tim and I talked about doing Stoops, he goes, Mark Stoops would fight anybody about anything, all right, But that's him. Yeah. And when you see that dude not fighting, that worries you a little bit.

00:14:58
Speaker 2: It does worry you. You know, we heard him after the game. You know he owned up to it. He didn't make any excuses. But some of that fight is missing, and it's it makes you wonder if some of the fires is gone right now. That's why these these competations are early familiar.

00:15:12
Speaker 4: We had Like you said, Hey, if you're looking for a great new home where you can enjoy watching the games and with your family, the Bluegrass Home Center is there for you. Standard home buyers with standard built Selks, single section and multisection manufactured homes two three, four five bedrooms. It's Bluegrass home Center dot com. They offer homes as low as forty eight thousand, nine hundred and it's at two forty one Rudy Bear Road in London, Kentucky. We've been on the video bear Road. That's right, call the Bluegrass Home Center six six two one five thirty three hundred. It's Bluegrass Home Center Finance with only zero down to Bluegrass Home Center. We'll take a break. Mary Backs KSR Quarterback Tucky Sports Radio eight. I'm nine two eight oh twenty two eighty seven. Here it's Kasbar got some folks here today. Where are you from, sir? Northern Kentucky? What about you? London, Kentucky? What about you? Ma'am Sarah Syrasas All over the place, everybody excited about Sunday Mornings of Matt and myern. You could just tell by they all were subscribing, getting ready. What person rites Matt? Yesterday I saw and watched my guy Donald Trumps six hour rally at Madison Square Guard. Do you think Kamala Harris could do a six hour rally? Probably not? But I wouldn't want to see anybody for six hours. Is there any human being that you would want to go watch have a rally for six hours?

00:16:39
Speaker 6: A rally? I wouldn't want to go to one for six minutes.

00:16:42
Speaker 4: You've been to one? We sent you to one for Hay, Kentucky.

00:16:45
Speaker 6: Well it was I mean, I would not spend my time at a rally six hours.

00:16:50
Speaker 2: I even if I was watching.

00:16:52
Speaker 4: Would you come to a rally for me for six hours? Right?

00:16:55
Speaker 2: That's stretching it. I can give you two or three hours, but then I'm gonna have to go to the potty and probably not come back.

00:17:01
Speaker 4: Six hours, Shannon, could you do it? No?

00:17:04
Speaker 3: You know, I feel like I love wrestling, but I fel like wrestle Mania they've stretched out like six hours and it's too much.

00:17:09
Speaker 4: It's too much.

00:17:10
Speaker 3: I don't want to watch it.

00:17:11
Speaker 4: That what you and I went to was too long. It was like hours were we were exhausted. Yeah, six hours too. Is there anything you could would want to do for six hours? I mean within reasons? Is there is there? Like, is there any event you would want to go to that would be six hours and you would think, Okay, I could do that.

00:17:29
Speaker 6: I mean, I've spent multiple six hour days at like a music festival where it's rotating acts.

00:17:33
Speaker 4: Let's se even that wears me out, Like six hours in a.

00:17:36
Speaker 6: Music shifts at something like that, but like one one person act, I know.

00:17:42
Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't think it was just one p yeah, a lot of people, but it was like a lot of people getting up and speaking. I just I can't think of anything I could do for six hours.

00:17:51
Speaker 2: The only thing I think I could even come close to was maybe a Super Bowl. You get there an hour before set through a four hour game.

00:17:58
Speaker 4: But I don't think you would want to sit through a hour game.

00:18:01
Speaker 2: No lungs. There's maybe some pregame stuff going on, some postgame stuff going on.

00:18:05
Speaker 4: I was at the Masters for like ten hours, and at the end of it, I was like, stop hitting golf balls.

00:18:15
Speaker 6: Oh, I was sunrise sunset at the Masters.

00:18:18
Speaker 4: Even that, Like, it's like, okay, by the way, I'm gonna say something. Everybody should go to the Masters if you ever get a chance. Golf tournaments in person most overrated sport, you really, Yeah, it's better at home. Yeah, it's tough to follow. You don't really know what's going on unrest the course, and it's I mean you should got The only exception of that for me was the Ryder Cup, and then you should go to the Masters to be there.

00:18:42
Speaker 2: But like, golf.

00:18:43
Speaker 4: Tournaments in person are hard to follow, run and you can only see where what's in front of you.

00:18:47
Speaker 2: Well, when we were there at Valhalla, the crowd was so crazy. You know, you gather around a green you can't even hardly. I'm so short, I can't see over people, can't knock people over.

00:18:57
Speaker 4: It's only one that's bat crowded.

00:18:59
Speaker 2: I mean that was like, say, crazy crowded.

00:19:01
Speaker 4: That's just my controversy. But no, six hours too long? Who's next, David? David? Go ahead, David, I met Hey, David, how are you?

00:19:13
Speaker 7: I'm better. That's the weekend.

00:19:15
Speaker 8: I'm tell you the truth.

00:19:18
Speaker 4: Yeah, it wasn't very good. But basketball tomorrow we got Minnesota State man Cato. Are you ready to take them down.

00:19:26
Speaker 7: To Myron to eat it? That's whoa David.

00:19:32
Speaker 4: You're talking Myron trash about Minnesota State man Cato. That was his alma mater. He played football for them.

00:19:39
Speaker 8: David, So what they're not still not going to be Kentucky tomorrow?

00:19:45
Speaker 4: No, they're not. Now they are the Division two national champs. True, I mean that's like Division two national champs. That's they're probably better than one hundred, one hundred and fifty D one teams. I mean Minnesota State Mankato, just to give an examples, probably only slide lightly worse than the Oakland team we played last year. I mean, they're that good. This is gonna be a good team that comes in.

00:20:06
Speaker 6: They can lose too. I expect it to be another big blowout, just with the way UK plays after seeing them a week ago. I'm not saying Kentucky's gonna be this great thing that's beating everybody, but the effort they showed NonStop on both ends of the floor, I think it's gonna be tough for any D two team to come into Reparena and keep it close.

00:20:22
Speaker 4: Well, David, I hope we can get a big victory for you. Okay, Okay, hopefully we'll.

00:20:29
Speaker 7: I'll come to the bars someday.

00:20:31
Speaker 4: You just tell me when. I'll save you a seat, all right, Okay, all right, thank you, David, appreciate it. A five nine twenty two eighty seven.

00:20:41
Speaker 2: You told us Myron's not gonna be able to make it.

00:20:42
Speaker 4: Myer's not coming.

00:20:43
Speaker 2: What a what a kind of a bummer?

00:20:45
Speaker 6: Scared?

00:20:45
Speaker 4: He's like, oh, I got a lot going on. I'm like, what do you have going on better than your alma mater playing here? And he was like, well, I gotta be in Kansas on Friday. I'm like, this is two Tuesday. That's not close. Those are different days of the week.

00:20:59
Speaker 6: It's not lost on me that he was coming until they played Wesleyan. I think he saw the team and thought, I don't want to be in there for that, right.

00:21:05
Speaker 4: I'm excited about tomorrow night, aren't you to watch him against an even better team.

00:21:10
Speaker 2: I think each time out I get more and more excited about this basketball team, from the from Madness to the Blue White Game, the Westling game, and now from tomorrow night. I am excited to see how they play out.

00:21:20
Speaker 4: And remember it's on the computer, but we've I think we've got it fixed here now. So to be on all the time, all the team, all the time won't just be on this one day. It will be Who's next? Isaac, Isaac, go ahead, Isaac.

00:21:33
Speaker 6: Hey, Matt.

00:21:34
Speaker 9: I'm a young fan, but uh, I think that as the seasons progressed, I've kind of lost interest. Like at the Vandy game, I was really disappointed when we lost, and then the Florida and Armor game, I've kind of just had him on the background noise. And it's to the point for the Tennessee game is the most important to me because I'm from Tennessee and I kind of just don't care about watching.

00:21:58
Speaker 4: I think there's a lot of people like you, Isaac, I really do. I mean, I think there's a lot of people like you. I think the Vandy loss took it down a notch Florida, and I do think there's a lot of people on Saturday gonna be like, oh, do we have to watch this? I think you're right.

00:22:13
Speaker 9: And then just on basketball, if we somehow managed to beat Duke on November twelve, do you think we could start dreaming about a Final Four?

00:22:24
Speaker 4: Oh? Sure, I think we should dream anyway. I mean, it's early in the year. I appreciate the call. I don't know that I would say they are a final four team. But yeah, if you were to beat Duke, why no, why not? I mean, Duke's as good as anybody. That Kansas team that's preseason number one didn't look all that great on Uh yeah, why not. I'm gonna I am. I mean, I'm gonna be I'm gonna be very excited until proven otherwise true. Have about that.

00:22:51
Speaker 6: I'll be going in confident with Duke. Now, I don't know who's gonna guard Cooper flag. That will be the big issue. But other than that, I mean, I feel like a lot of fans have just surrender that Duke Game, like there's no chance. I think Kentucky will be in it. They just have a really tough matchup they'll have to figure out.

00:23:04
Speaker 4: I think. I think, I think the Duke game is almost you're playing with house money.

00:23:09
Speaker 2: Yeah, long, don't you win your first two?

00:23:11
Speaker 4: I think the Duke game is just fun. It'll give us a notion of where we are right and we'll get a sense of where we stand. And then we got all year to kind of what are we gonna losing the Champions Classic. You've been doing that. I've seen many of those one and six in the last seven Champions Classics. Why would I worry about it? Yeah, I'm excited about it. We'll take a break right back Chazar TJ. Smith, personal injury attorney called TJ. He'll make them pay now.

00:23:37
Speaker 3: More of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage. Here's Matt Jones.

00:23:42
Speaker 4: Welcome back Tucky Sports Radio. If I'm nine two eight oh twenty two eighty seven text machine seven seven two seven seven four five two five four By the way, Sunday Morning with Matt Myron. Just from my mention on the show yesterday got in the top fifty podcasts. Maybe from this show we end up in the top twenty, top fifteen. That I can send to my boss at ESPN tell him to eat it. It'll be great if we could do that.

00:24:04
Speaker 6: Maybe you could get a new contract and take advantage of get you that leverage.

00:24:10
Speaker 4: My leverage at ESPN is that I'm cheap. That's my leverage the moment. The moment I'm not cheap, they'll go, you know, man, it's been great. We appreciate your I'm the I'm because I have another job. Most people that work there, that's their job because I have another job, like, they love me because they don't have to pay me a lot.

00:24:26
Speaker 6: And the availability you're unavailable.

00:24:28
Speaker 4: Well, I'm starting to bring it down a little bit. When I got the Thanksgiving call this year, I was like, you know what, No, what's I've done it? I've done it enough. What's your up?

00:24:40
Speaker 2: They don't do enough play by play?

00:24:42
Speaker 4: They said they're gonna give us one. They're waiting to see the Uh. I won't know which one till the matchups, okay, because basically they're gonna be like, all right, what's the worst game.

00:24:52
Speaker 2: We're gonna give it to those two to those.

00:24:53
Speaker 4: Two guys, uh and let them go. They found out Find nine two, twenty twenty. Said One person writes, Matt, I was at the Kentucky State High School Marching Band Championships this weekend. Start at three point thirty ended eleven thirty eight hours of bands. Oh that's awful. I mean, no offense to high school marching bands. I'm sure y'all are good people, all of them, and your trombones and your clarinets. But I can't think of a lot I would like less than that.

00:25:24
Speaker 2: That's that's a good mommy and a good daddy. If you're gonna sit through eight hours of that, I probably would go to watch my kid and then peace out, check out after that.

00:25:32
Speaker 4: If they what if your kid was in it and they said for you to go, you have to watch everyone else's kids too.

00:25:37
Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm sneaking out. That's a lot of horn tooting and drum banging.

00:25:43
Speaker 4: All right, a lot of hornet of horn touting and drum banging. Okay.

00:25:48
Speaker 6: I had to sit through a few of those due to family ties. Some of those cheer competitions that last all day, Yeah, I think that would be worse than band.

00:25:56
Speaker 4: Okay, all right, so we're gonna do uh for all the folks here, We're gonna Sports Equinox parlay. All right, it's the only night where you get all four games. We're gonna each I might have you each pick a sport. Okay, okay, so everybody, So Shannon, I'll let you. We'll start with you. We'll let you do the NFL. Okay, so the NFL tonight, you got Giants and the Steelers. The I don't know who's the first Steelers, Steers which you could you can do anything. You could do, Steelers money line, Giants money line, you could do over under you pick whatever you want.

00:26:29
Speaker 3: I'll take Steelers money line. I feel like that to say.

00:26:31
Speaker 4: Steelers money line. That's a little easy. I mean, I mean we want to win though, that's the point, right, Take Steelers money line. I'm gonna take. I'll do the hockey. I'm gonna take Sebastiano scores a goal tonight against the Canucks. So that'll be Aho scores a goal, Steelers money line. Now you get Dodgers, Yankees, give me give me a pick.

00:26:53
Speaker 2: Game three, Dodgers up two oh first game in New York is supposed to be a perfect night, like in the mid fifties, supposed to be a great night. So I don't think the Yankees lose at home. They're a one and a half point favorite. I'm gonna take that.

00:27:04
Speaker 4: So you're taking Yankees in against the spread win by more than one? Yes, all right? So you got that. H he's got He's got Yankees minus one and a half. Mario, you got that? Okay, So now the basketball one will let Drew pick. You can do whatever you want.

00:27:21
Speaker 6: You know who played? I had my Steelers pick you to an hour ago you were gonna pick. I had three different Steelers picks. I've assumed I would be the NFL guy. So let's see Nicks play. Uh, Carl Town's over twenty points. Carltown's over twenty pace. So we got Yankees, Steelers, oh and Carl Towns.

00:27:41
Speaker 4: All right? And then, uh so, Mario'll send that in and when they give us the thing, it'll be our KSR Equinox pick. We won the parlay again Saturday. That's now three out of five. If you've bet us every week, you'd be up to thirteen times the amount of money you bet. Initially, because we were five to one, seven to one, and eight to one. Are we the best betters of all time? Is that? What is? That's? What's is that what's happening?

00:28:07
Speaker 6: People are saying it. I think I'm only picking underdogs from now on two and oh on getting dogs to win outright.

00:28:13
Speaker 4: Really, no game was close. We kind of want I don't want them all all by they were like, didn't even really have to sweat.

00:28:19
Speaker 2: I'm mad at myself. I didn't get my bet in in time. I missed because one of the games kicked off at noon. I didn't get it in and missed out on this.

00:28:25
Speaker 4: So it's not good stuff here. Just roll with case arth. This equal when tonight at midnight, when Ajoe puts his goal in and we're all cashing our checks, you can be excited. Who's next?

00:28:36
Speaker 3: Cody?

00:28:37
Speaker 4: Cody? What's up? Cody?

00:28:40
Speaker 10: Hey, guys, appreciate your So I want to make two points to kind of One of them is a piggyback off what you said about the quarterback. But my mom what has been divorced five times and every time through the divorce, it's always been the husband's fault. And I look at that and it's the same thing with Mark Stoops, like, how many have we went through? And it's always the coordinator's fault at some point? Who's the common denominator here? So why would be elite level offensive coordinator or elite level, elite level prospect a quarterback want to come to Kentucky under what Stoops has put. He's shown that he's proven what he is offensively.

00:29:21
Speaker 4: I mean, I think it is that the offensive coordinator part of the equation. I appreciate the call. The offensive coordinator part of the equation is a completely fair comment. You have had player or you've had offensive coordinator after offensive coordinator, and if you at some point you can't keep blaming the offensive coordinators. I thought the play call Saturday seemed awful, to be quite frank with you, But at some point you can't continue to put it on them. Ryan, you do have to look at the overall regime. That guy's right.

00:29:52
Speaker 2: I mean, it's not just this year. It's been a kind of recurring theme. And when Liam Cole made those comments, you know, you can't go back home again. I'm that kind of threw a red flag. I think that what happened last year.

00:30:04
Speaker 6: Yeah, you know, I think the Cohen thing was him just really hating college too. But the stat that stands out to me the most is that Kentucky has not finished in the top sixty and passing since Stoops has been here.

00:30:14
Speaker 4: Is that right?

00:30:15
Speaker 6: Yeah, not even top sixty.

00:30:16
Speaker 4: Not even in the top sixty since he's been.

00:30:19
Speaker 6: That's a that's an attitude of how you want to have your offense.

00:30:22
Speaker 4: That is uh, that's a stat outed.

00:30:24
Speaker 6: And then the worst stat this year we already mentioned it, but the fact that you have been on the goal line three times and have gone scoreless, Yeah, that is unbelievable.

00:30:31
Speaker 2: There were a lot of people mad that will Cox didn't get a chance to score his second touchdown of the game.

00:30:36
Speaker 4: Yeah inside the Yeah, I mean think about it, the one if he hands that touchdown to Wilcox, first of all, we score. Secondly, a lot of people cast twenty eight hundred to one yes that would have done. Was not good. If I'm nine to twenty twenty seven, tell me about stock or mort Stockton mortgage.

00:30:51
Speaker 2: You know, when things aren't going well on the football field, they're always going great. And the mortgage row when you use Todd mortgage.

00:30:55
Speaker 4: If your things are not going well in football, just get them more.

00:30:58
Speaker 2: Just go buy a new house, build a new house, or do a cash out refinance. Maybe build a new big deck on the back of your house. That's where Stockton Margin can help you every step of the way. It's an easy process that you don't talk to the different mortgage lender every time you colleg doctor the same guy. They'll get to the closing table. That's what it's all about. So give him a try, give him a call, give him a look on the website. It's Stockton Mortgage dot Com MLS A two five nine equalsing lender.

00:31:21
Speaker 4: We'll take a break and be right back. This is Kentucky Sports Radio quarterback. It is Kentucky Sports Radio A five nine two a oh twenty two eighty seven. Couple things here. First of all, they just put out the depth chart for football team Chip training them. Not on the depth chart. Will Cox not there either. It's Demi Sumo, Karmbay and then Patterson.

00:31:45
Speaker 2: I didn't realize will Cox got hurt during the game last week last Saturday.

00:31:50
Speaker 4: I mean, I don't know if he did.

00:31:51
Speaker 2: I'm just that's what about a linebacker with JJ Weaver and Derek Jackson.

00:31:54
Speaker 4: Linebacker JJ Weaver is on it. Derek Jackson is okay, so Dumas Johnson, jack and then Weaver all on there. Uh so is Dean Walkers. It looks like most of the other guys still on there.

00:32:06
Speaker 2: You know a lot of people say, well, our defense struggled in the second half because Weaver and Jackson weren't out there. No, there were little nobody tackling the little tackling when those guys were in there.

00:32:15
Speaker 4: So that wasn't they have Maxwell Harrison on.

00:32:18
Speaker 6: I was gonna tell you, I don't think they've changed that in six weeks. It's been exactly the same, no matter the injury report.

00:32:24
Speaker 4: They've always had Patterson ahead of Willcox. Yeah.

00:32:26
Speaker 6: I think that's been the exact same depth chart since about week two.

00:32:29
Speaker 4: Oh well then never mind. But I mean I haven't seen it.

00:32:32
Speaker 6: I could be wrong, but the last few weeks have certainly been the same one, over and over and over, no matter the circumstances.

00:32:37
Speaker 4: Is interesting that that would that that Patterson was always the second one though.

00:32:40
Speaker 2: That's kind of odd. Yeah, it was good to get him back. I mean, you to get some fresh legs back there. Ran the ball pretty well a couple of times.

00:32:47
Speaker 4: Yeah, if I'm not two eight oh twenty two eighty seven. We so we got Minnesota State tomorrow. Pregame show will be at four thirty game is it seven? It's on the and then we've got I got my trivia on Wednesday. By the way, I'm writing questions tonight.

00:33:05
Speaker 2: You got your team ready, I gotta get my team ready. I tried to recruit Hubby and Sarah over the weekend and gave them a little heads up. So those are my ringers.

00:33:12
Speaker 4: Yeah, well, you gotta get You can't just ask people the day of. You need to give them a little bit of notice. Are you dressing up for Halloween? Oh?

00:33:19
Speaker 2: Is a fat baby fart? Yes?

00:33:21
Speaker 4: I am. I don't like that analogy. You say that all the time. I don't think that's a good analogy. I don't know why fat babies would fart, and I don't even know why you say that.

00:33:29
Speaker 2: I think I'm gonna try to even go a little extra scary and really try to scare the kids that come to my house this year. Good, that's what we want, if what a good adult does, right.

00:33:38
Speaker 4: Sure, who's up next, Lucas, Lucas, Go ahead, Lucas, Hello, Yes, go ahead?

00:33:47
Speaker 8: Hey, real quick. So I think that we should not diminish, but lesson the Duke blowout over Arizona State last year they went fourteen and eighteen. I mean, Kentucky Wesley at least won the D two National.

00:34:02
Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't care team by fifty five points. I don't care how bad they are. That's oppressive.

00:34:10
Speaker 8: Hold on one more thing, also, you got to keep in mind that, and this is kind of separate from basketball, but the fact that Mark or Mark Pope is he is intelligent as he is, he could be a neurosurgeon. And I don't think that we're going to get blown out by Duke. I'm not saying we're gonna win, but I don't think we're gonna get blown out. I think we're going to be competitive. And I think that Mark Pope's approach to the game is a lot more intellectual and a lot more uh. It's it's a lot different than say what Bobby Hurley is Arizona State would do. John sire And I think that.

00:34:53
Speaker 4: John Shire are smart too. They're not idiots. They went to Duke w.

00:35:00
Speaker 8: Yes, they're smart dudes. But what I'm saying is, though I don't think Mark Pope is just gonna get blown out. I think he is going his approach to the game is one that won't lead to a blowout.

00:35:14
Speaker 4: Now, I don't know what I appreciate that. Yeah, that's I appreciate the call. Look, I if we're gonna get excited about us beating Kentucky Wesley by seventy one, we have to give Duke credit for winning by fifty four against against a power five team. That's an impressive result. It just is.

00:35:32
Speaker 6: We also have to note former cat on the Arizona State team, Jaden Quainton's who is going to be one of the headliners of our recruit.

00:35:39
Speaker 4: I forgot he was there, that top five recruit. It was there. I completely forgot about.

00:35:44
Speaker 6: I didn't see any of the game, but I read a recap written on an Arizona State blog and it seemed like he played pretty well. They're excited about him. I didn't have eyeballs on it, but that was A. That was a familiar name in that one.

00:35:54
Speaker 4: I completely forgot about that. That's really that's A. That's a really good point. Well, I you know, I will make a prediction we will get blown out of game or two this year. When you shoot as many threes as we do when we're cold, there's gonna be somebody that beats us by a lot. Remember Alabama lost by thirty to us last year playing a very similar style. Because there's a feast or famine part of it, right, So there'll be a game or two where somebody takes us to the woodship. And it won't be because Mark Pope's not smart. It will just be when you play a style where you shoot a lot of threes, if you're not hitting them, Ryan, you have a chance to get blown out.

00:36:32
Speaker 2: It will happen where there'll be a game where they go five for forty from three point land and they's gonna happen. It will just basketball, man, and it will have to.

00:36:41
Speaker 4: Be a team with some talent to do it. I don't think it'll be Duke. I think our dudes will play well in that stage. You know. I'll use the example of Michigan State. Michigan State sometimes wins in the Champions Classic, sometimes loses, but if you'll go look at those games, they're always close because they have a veteran team that kind of keeps it close in the early He says, I think that'll be what this is, but we're gonna get blown out. Yep. We're not like immune from getting blown out in the game. I just use Alabama as an example. Final four team, loads of talent, similar styled US. We beat them by thirty last year. Yep, I don't happen. I don't think there will be a blowout.

00:37:16
Speaker 6: But one thing I'm confident in is they will play well in all these early season games against teams they should beat. Where in the past we've had freshmen that weren't ready and you look up, you're down twenty to Wilmington. These guys have played way too much basketball for one of these kind of second tier opponents to come in here and steal one.

00:37:32
Speaker 4: Totally totally agree. Who's next, Clay Clay, go ahead, Clay, Hey, Matt.

00:37:38
Speaker 7: I just think this fan base have to take a collective rust, Okay.

00:37:43
Speaker 11: I mean everyone wanted us to go seven and five, right, I mean correct?

00:37:51
Speaker 4: Well, I mean I think there are people. There are people who thought we would do better than seven and five. I tended to kind of go back and forth seven and five, eight and four, but there were people who thought eight and four was like a given, seven and five was the bottom and there's a good chance we finished four.

00:38:06
Speaker 8: And eight, right, that's not good things.

00:38:12
Speaker 11: I think that we went out, we go to the Las Vegas Ball, we can't fire soops. I mean Jerry Jones is the only one that could fire soops.

00:38:21
Speaker 2: Here.

00:38:21
Speaker 8: I mean, we don't have forty four millions.

00:38:24
Speaker 4: Yeah, but we're not gonna win out. I mean, you really think we're gonna win at Tennessee and at Texas?

00:38:29
Speaker 7: I mean, why not?

00:38:32
Speaker 6: I mean, who's the same v I guess I want someone where you're having.

00:38:35
Speaker 11: Vanderbilt almost beat Tectors.

00:38:38
Speaker 4: Yeah, but we just lost at home to Auburn, and we lost to Vanderbilt, and we lost to Florida and we lost to South Carolina.

00:38:46
Speaker 8: Well, you've got a point.

00:38:47
Speaker 11: But I mean, if Arkansas can be Tennessee, and I mean we can almost be Venue with one hundred and twenty yards of penalties.

00:38:54
Speaker 4: Arkansas is better than we are right now this year. But but but I like your confidence. I appreciate the call, Shandon, why not anyone could beat anybody?

00:39:01
Speaker 6: The world is sure.

00:39:03
Speaker 3: Yeah, you're living in a different reality.

00:39:05
Speaker 4: Pal pow. Did you just just give that guy?

00:39:09
Speaker 2: I gave him the pal?

00:39:10
Speaker 3: I mean, if you've been watching the same team I've been watching. There's no way they go to Tennessee and Texas and win either one of those games.

00:39:15
Speaker 4: I will say this, I'm gonna make a prediction. I think one of those games is gonna be oddly competitive.

00:39:20
Speaker 2: That's Kentucky football.

00:39:21
Speaker 4: I think one of those games, in one of those two games against Texas or Tennessee, it'll be the fourth quarter and we'll be in the game. I don't know if we'll win, but I bet you in one of those games it is going to be oddly competitive, Drew, because that's just kind of how stoops is, right.

00:39:35
Speaker 6: I'm gonna prediction you Tucket to lose a lot by this weekend. I think Tennessee will win, but if it's close in the fourth quarter, I won't be shocked because I think Tennessee's down And that's just what Kentucky football.

00:39:45
Speaker 4: That just right when we write them off, they'll have a game. I mean, I could totally see this team. See I'm answing to do this because Mario put that video out of the at the beginning of the year where I was like, we could go nine and three, and that video is now every fan base is like, what an idiot, and I was clearly operating in a theoretical world, and everybody got mad. But it would be funny if we lost to Tennessee, beat Murray and somehow won at Texas and then we're five and six going into the little game again. I don't think it's gonna happen, but it would be kind of funny if it did.

00:40:22
Speaker 6: I'm going to Austin. Please let that be the scenario. The twelve of us that are still going to sit in the UK section, we'll have a blast.

00:40:29
Speaker 4: That would be That would be funny. Do we have time for one more? Let me do one more? Who's next? Luke? Luke? Go ahead, Luke?

00:40:37
Speaker 7: Hey, I think that last guy needs to put down the pipe for a little bit. But I found a fascinating stat. Okay, so quarterbacks to throw for three hundred yards in the Stoops era in a game. So it has only happened seventeen times, and now what is this his thirteenth season? So we've had seventeen times where quarterbackstone for three hundred yards were against mid majors, two of them were against the ACC and only five out of I guess one hundred and two SEC games has a quarterback don for three hundred yards.

00:41:11
Speaker 10: That is pathetic.

00:41:12
Speaker 7: That is absolutely that is.

00:41:14
Speaker 4: That's really yeah, five out of yeah. And so let's see this is he's playing on hundred twelve times eight one hundred and two, five out of one hundred and two time games that we throw for three Yeah, that's not good.

00:41:26
Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah, that's absolutely pathetic. And my thing is, if we're going to stink, we might as well be fun and throw the ball seventy eight times a game, uh, because at least it's fun to watch. But it's just it's really sad, and it's just it's pretty unacceptable. And I mean, I know firing him is off the table. But the thing you got to worry about with Nil is that this spirals that fans are like, no, I'm not giving my money to that.

00:41:49
Speaker 4: Yeah, that's my work.

00:41:50
Speaker 7: My worry gets very bad.

00:41:52
Speaker 4: You can have a bad year, but my worry is the spiral. And I think it in IL. I appreciate the call. I think programs are going to be able to build to six ask quicker and fall from success faster in the Nile era than they were before. I think a team like Indiana, you can build a program like that quicker. But a team like Alabama's gotta be careful because you can fall faster, and so like, I don't want us to be one of the ones at fall. Hey, BBN, you wouldn't want to buy tickets a big game and then not go. So why would you pay for your health benefits and not use them? Court Physical therapy is the best place to use your deductible if you've already used your deductible way to get health benefits. If you have them, use them because they reset January first, get rid of your aches and pains before the holidays. It's court dot com, that's Kort dot com. We are eight days before the election, and Ryan, I already I gotta figure out what we'll do during that day so that I don't watch.

00:42:47
Speaker 2: It watch a six hour Rally's right, I'll go.

00:42:50
Speaker 4: To a high school band competition. You go, That's exactly right. They should have had it that day. I wouldn't do that. I'll see you like we'll see tomorrow UK Place KSR
