I guess you're talking. 00:01:44 Speaker 4: About Friday evening. Yes, okay, all right, I don't know why you're surprised. The show ends at noon. There's a lot of day left after that. 00:01:52 Speaker 2: Yeah, So what was it? 00:01:54 Speaker 3: Uh? 00:01:56 Speaker 4: I freaked out about this game tomorrow? It was it was you know, I don't get nervous. I have really been nervous doing media three times. 00:02:09 Speaker 3: Okay. 00:02:10 Speaker 4: First time was the first time I ever did a show on the ESPN, when I did it with that woman Nicole Brisco who did her famous Who the hell is Matt Jones, Right. 00:02:19 Speaker 2: Yeah, I remember that. 00:02:21 Speaker 4: Uh, and it was it was seven o'clock in the morning, and I was nervous. I was okay though, but like I was a little I was a little nervous. Second time was the first time I hosted my own show on there, when I flew up to Bristol to ESPN, and you guys have been there now, Drew like. 00:02:42 Speaker 3: It's a pretty magical place. 00:02:44 Speaker 4: I mean it's it's a warehouse, but still it's ESPN, right, And I had never been in the building. And I walked in and did a show about the NFL, which I didn't know anything about. I was pretty nervous about that. Like, I was very nervous about that. But I got over it. But that was tough. 00:03:02 Speaker 3: Then. 00:03:02 Speaker 4: The third time was when I went on Bill Maher on HBO and you were sitting there with Bill Maher and Katie. 00:03:09 Speaker 3: Kurk, right, Like that was nerve wreaking. 00:03:14 Speaker 4: But Friday night was like, okay, hang on, because I decided to spend Friday night and Saturday listening Ryan to the play by play broadcast of the other college football playoff games on radio. 00:03:28 Speaker 2: On radio, it's different. 00:03:30 Speaker 3: On radio because I wanted to hear what do they do? 00:03:33 Speaker 4: And Friday night was Alabama, Oklahoma, and I turned it on radio and I began to panic because the guy doing it, I don't know who his name was. I never caught it, but he was really good and he was doing stuff that I can't do. He would be like, you know, Ryan, limit and the shotgun, two wide receivers to the left, one to the right, tight end in motion. He's looking at a set thirty six personnel. He signals over to the side and like he's saying all this stuff, and Ryan, I'm going, I can't do that, Like I don't know any of those things. 00:04:08 Speaker 2: You got to set there a little more on radio, You're right. 00:04:11 Speaker 4: But he was like, and he was talking like a mile a minute, and I go, I don't know if I can do this, Like I can't buy, like I have to do this and debut on national radio. 00:04:24 Speaker 3: Plus I don't know these two teams. 00:04:27 Speaker 4: And so then I started panicking, and I was like, Okay, I got to hit the research. But I went to Staples and printed out drew both teams media guides and notes. 00:04:38 Speaker 5: Oh I gotta have the hard copy. 00:04:40 Speaker 4: Yes, cause you know I don't like to read on on kindle and on computer. 00:04:44 Speaker 3: I need a hard copy. Went to Staples. Took me an hour to even figure out how to work out the Staples copy. 00:04:49 Speaker 5: Shit, it's the last time you've done that. 00:04:53 Speaker 4: Been a while, all right, Ben, a while? Get that done. Like so, I spend all week in highlighting Ryan. I literally muted my television all of Saturday and Sunday and was just calling games out loud. 00:05:08 Speaker 2: That's good, you know, a little little dress rehearsal, so to speak. 00:05:13 Speaker 3: And as it went, I got better. 00:05:16 Speaker 4: But even yesterday, I'm on the plane and I'm watching the game on the plane and I'm calling the game. I thought in my head, but I actually think I was saying some words out loud as well. Well, And now I feel a lot better about it. I found my own pace, like I'm gonna talk a lot slower than a lot of these other dudes do because I don't know as much, to be honest with you, and I'm not panicky now. But Friday night I called Myron and I called my friend Hubby, and I was like, do you think it's too late for me to get out of this? Because I don't know if I can do this, so I feel better about it. I am still nervous, but tomorrow. It is so crazy to do a skill that you've never done your entire life, and then you have to do it on national radio talking about two teams that you know nothing about. 00:06:11 Speaker 2: I'm happy about a couple of things. One is that Myron is sitting right beside you. You guys have worked together now for years. You got a good chemistry between each other. You can kind of rely on him to help you if you get in a situation where you kind of get stuck, you know what I mean, He'll be. 00:06:23 Speaker 3: Able to pull you through. 00:06:24 Speaker 4: But he's never done this either. Yeah, he's never been a color commentator for a football game ever. It's like we have no experience. Okay, there's a collective zero game experience between the two of us. 00:06:38 Speaker 2: Well, at least it's you know, it's only on ESPN Radio, kind of a minor outlet. You know, there won't be a whole lot of. 00:06:43 Speaker 4: I really should have gone and taken up people's offers drew to like do a Campbellsville game or something this year. 00:06:49 Speaker 3: I should have done that, or. 00:06:50 Speaker 6: A high school game. But you know, you knock some of it. Out on the plane. You've got the nerves behind you. All you're doing now is walking into the big game, getting into the booth and just let it all. 00:07:00 Speaker 2: Do you have your team barge ready or any made your team boards? 00:07:03 Speaker 3: I have not, although I bought. I showed him to Drew. 00:07:05 Speaker 4: Tell us Tom, Ryan, what my poster boards are, like I bought, Tom Hart suggested to buy poster boards. By the way, Tom Hart got to hear me freak out a little bit too, because I called Tom Hart and I'm like, why did I do this? 00:07:17 Speaker 3: Tom? 00:07:19 Speaker 4: And He's like, You're gonna be fine. And Tom, you want to know what Tom's number one piece of advice was. I like this advice He said, just say what you see. And that sounds simplistic, but it's actually helped a lot. Just what I see there on the screen, just say it right that sound I mean, again, that sounds simplic. 00:07:40 Speaker 3: I actually think it's really good advice. Ryan. Just say what you see. 00:07:44 Speaker 2: Yeah, because through your eyes for the game, through the radio, so whatever you see you can relate say to us. 00:07:50 Speaker 4: So don't sit and worry too much about what you should be saying, Drew, just say what you. 00:07:54 Speaker 6: See and you're good at painting the scene. So if you get stuck and you need like a crutch, just say something about the craft. We'll say that and be like, wow, sure there's a lot of empty seats here, but you know how to talk about what's around outside of the football too, and people will want to hear that. 00:08:10 Speaker 3: So I have my little poster boards. 00:08:11 Speaker 4: I'm gonna work on that today, which is where for people who don't know that Tom Leech he does these and he he gives them away sometimes after games, which is like his you know, here's the roster, here's their numbers, here's little facts about them. 00:08:25 Speaker 3: Ryan. 00:08:26 Speaker 4: I'm working on that today. But I have too, like like you'd be doing a presentation in like fifth grade. 00:08:31 Speaker 3: Two poster boards. 00:08:33 Speaker 2: It is. And you know, if you've been around Tom when he does a game, he's very meticulous on his poster boards. And I think he got those that I did from Kaywood. I think Kwood kind of taught him how to do that well. 00:08:41 Speaker 3: Kay would is. 00:08:42 Speaker 4: I don't think kay Wood would have ever thought it would go to the New Orleans Bowl, but it is going to the New Orleans Bowl. I'm meeting with the when this show ends I'm meeting with the Southern or Western Kentucky coaching staff. 00:08:54 Speaker 3: Don't know what I'm gonna say to those guys. 00:08:57 Speaker 2: Uh, but you know he had a right. 00:09:01 Speaker 4: Yes, Well, they come into the year eight and four. They did lose their last two games, right, lost their last three games. They have a new coach. Their coach left for Memphis. These are all things you'll learn on the broadcast. 00:09:12 Speaker 2: Great, great, you'll do fine. You'll be just fine, I guess. 00:09:14 Speaker 4: But for people who listen to this show and who are like they hear me, like, always be confident, like this is like I'm I'm nervous. The only time I can remember being as nervous as I was Friday Night was the very first NFL show where Dan Orlovsky and I sat in like a room next to the studio, both of us freaking out. We had just met each other and both of us freaking out because Dan had never done radio and I had never been on ESPN. And we both were like, all right, I know, I just met you, but we got it. And of course it's worked out for him. He's a huge star now. 00:09:56 Speaker 2: So do you have a an on the field reporter too? You can toss to No, we do not. 00:10:03 Speaker 4: It's just us, no experts, no sideline reporters. 00:10:10 Speaker 3: Just me and him. 00:10:11 Speaker 4: And once that train takes off, Drew, it ain't stopping for three and a half hours. 00:10:17 Speaker 6: I think you're gonna end up loving it now. You might not want to do it again over and over, but you know you admired, have been doing this for a long time, and you'll get goofy with it if you have to. It sounds like they're not gonna let you take calls. Did you get that cleared up? 00:10:29 Speaker 3: Haven't heard. 00:10:29 Speaker 4: I'll find out today in the production meeting. I don't know if they're gonna let me take calls or not, but you got guys, I'm definitely gonna read the text machine. I'm gonna read stuff from the text machine. 00:10:38 Speaker 3: That's good, good idea. 00:10:40 Speaker 4: So the game starts at five point thirty. Now UK plays at one. There's a good chance that. 00:10:45 Speaker 3: The postgame show, which who is hosting the postgame show? Which one of you is hosting that? 00:10:50 Speaker 2: Me and and Billy. 00:10:52 Speaker 4: Ryan, You and Billy. It's a good chance like that'll be ending almost right as I'm starting perfect Perfect, So, and it's five. 00:11:03 Speaker 3: Thirty till probably eight thirty or nine. 00:11:04 Speaker 2: So if you I got more question for you. You know, usually they have you got a little time for a little intro before the game starts. You're gonna write it down. You're just gonna wing something. Well, even Tom Win write it down. 00:11:14 Speaker 4: They said that it depends on what happens in the game before that Louisville Toledo game. 00:11:20 Speaker 3: Oh okay, so if that game. 00:11:21 Speaker 4: Goes long, we will we You know, it just depends on Louisville and Toledo. 00:11:26 Speaker 3: So I'm gonna say to Louisville and Toledo play slow. 00:11:30 Speaker 5: Tell Vince, those are his teams. 00:11:32 Speaker 3: Take as much time as you need. Guys, we'll be five. Who's next? Read is up? Next? Reid? Go ahead read? 00:11:41 Speaker 7: Good morning, guys, horry' all this morning. 00:11:43 Speaker 3: Good, good morning. 00:11:45 Speaker 8: Hey. 00:11:46 Speaker 7: We had awesome time by wife and I, daughter and son in law with the Atlanta stayed at the Weston and I. We love the damn game. It was an awesome game. It what and it was it was awesome. I mean we got there early, we went out. We went up there Thursday nine and then come back yesterday and it was awesome. We were facing crowd. My son in law was telling me. He said, yeah, I can't believe how much crowd y'all got. I said, well, both of my daughter and son in law graduates from Auburn. We live in Okahaka, Alabama, So yeah, he couldn't believe it. 00:12:24 Speaker 4: But yeah, well, I mean I heard there was like seventy seventy percent Kentucky fans, and when the Kentucky game started, it was all Kentucky fans. Now Carolina had some people. A little later, I heard Ohio State. One guy said he didn't see one Ohio State fan the whole day. So that's always been like that with him. They just don't travel at all anything else. 00:12:47 Speaker 7: I guess that's it, just to enjoy y'all show as usual. But we appreciated related about the coin, so we appreciate. 00:12:54 Speaker 3: Enjoy your holidays. Merry Christmas. Who's up next? Up next to Kentucky gas in Kentucky gas man go ahead eight five, nine eighty seven. 00:13:06 Speaker 9: Yeah, I got two things. First of all, I say congratulations to the volleyball team. Man, what an awesome, awesome season. I've been more into volleyball this year. I've probably ever had just three losses. 00:13:17 Speaker 7: On that season. 00:13:18 Speaker 9: That's awesome. 00:13:20 Speaker 3: Totally agree. 00:13:21 Speaker 9: Secondly, yeah, Secondly, I want to say to uh Rick Contino's press conference, I really feel like that he is just taken up for his former player from the boots that they received from the Gonzaga game. 00:13:39 Speaker 10: Now. 00:13:39 Speaker 9: I know that he said media, but I really feel like, you know, Rick thinks that we can't think for our own sometimes, like the media is trying to put a narrative to us, and that's why we say what we say. But you know, we're Kentucky. We know basketball. You know, we see when the efforts out there, we see the manner between the players, and I just I just wanna say, Rick, no parent needed stay in your lane. 00:14:09 Speaker 4: I totally agree with you about that. By the way, I appreciate the call. 00:14:12 Speaker 3: You know. 00:14:13 Speaker 4: Bruce Pearl said during the game. One of the things I did hear him say is that he thought we had the most intelligent fan base in the country when it comes to basketball. 00:14:19 Speaker 3: I agree with that. 00:14:20 Speaker 4: I like Rick Patino again. I think it's cool that Rick Patino and Kentucky fans get along again. But Drew, I don't need Rick Patino to be the lecturer for how we should act. No offense to Rick Patino but you ain't exactly mister perfect. You've done some actions constantly that are kind of embarrassing. We don't need you lecturing us on how to act. I have mixed emotions about whether or not people should have booed, But you know what, we don't need you to tell us what we need to do. I'm glad to have you back. I'm glad to have you kind of as our friend. But I don't need to be told the way Kentucky fans need to feel, or the way Kentucky fans need to have by outsiders. I keep saying this. We said it to Seth Greenberger a couple of years ago. Y'all are not part of this. You coach Saint John's. You worry about Saint John's. You can be nice when you want to be nice, because it's helpful, But I don't need you telling us how to fan. 00:15:16 Speaker 3: That's the end of my sentence. 00:15:17 Speaker 6: Rick's been doing that since Pope got the job. I felt like you put out a video every month last year for Kentucky fans when he was the head coach of Saint John's. Remember he told us how to welcome John Caliperi before the Kentucky Arkansas game. 00:15:28 Speaker 3: It's like, what do you do? 00:15:29 Speaker 5: Why are you talking about us? 00:15:30 Speaker 3: I know all these coaches. 00:15:32 Speaker 4: I don't like when John cali Peri used to tell us what we should do to Bruce Park. 00:15:36 Speaker 3: Like, y'all are not in charge. We are adults. Okay. Everybody can act how they want. You are not the moral police of telling people. 00:15:47 Speaker 4: You're not here and you're not a fan, and people are gonna do what they do and everybody. 00:15:52 Speaker 3: It's easy to blame in the media, Oh the media of the media. 00:15:55 Speaker 4: People do what they want. Okay, they do what they want, and so you can blame us if you want. But people have their own minds and they're gonna do what they do. We'll take a break. If I'm nine two eight oh twenty two eighty seven is Kentucky sports radio worker back Tucky Sports Radio. If pain, stiffness, or numbing smifzation is presenting you for preventing you from enjoying watching your favorite teams compete, go to Court Physical Therapy. Court has been Kentucky's go to physical therapy group to help athletes, fans, and average joes get rid of aches and pains and get back to what they love. It's court dot com, that's kort dot com. Don't be in pain, go to court dot com. One person rides Matt. You comparing yourself to the guy that calls the playoff game would be like me comparing my offensive rebound to Jaden Quaintin's. You can't hold yourself to that standard. Well that's true, but Drew, like you know, you want to be as good as you can. I needed to hear somebody bad you and I talked about this on cover zero last night. 00:16:54 Speaker 3: I should have found a way. 00:16:55 Speaker 4: To listen to somebody who wasn't good at it, But I don't, you know, I don't know who those people are. 00:17:00 Speaker 3: But because because trying to hold yourself to the high standard is kind of difficult. 00:17:05 Speaker 6: Yeah, you might not be Iron Eagle right away or even Tom Hart, but you'll you'll find your groove there? Have you before the play actually starts? You know, you gotta know some formations? Have you found your group of how you're gonna actually like you're gonna give? 00:17:19 Speaker 5: But I mean, do you know what you'll say? 00:17:21 Speaker 4: Like I started to figure out, especially yesterday, I started to figure out things you can. 00:17:26 Speaker 3: Say besides the formations. 00:17:28 Speaker 4: So like I heard one guy, Ryan, He would say things like he looks to the other side of the line, he sees six guys, he sees six players staring back at him, looking blitz. 00:17:39 Speaker 3: I was like, ooh, I like that. 00:17:40 Speaker 2: Yes, you can say that every you say that every every play. How we gonna know what radio? 00:17:44 Speaker 4: Yeah, you can say And then that's the other thing. If I get it wrong, Ryan, who's gonna know? They can't see. 00:17:50 Speaker 6: This for TV and you're calling out the wrong thing. They'd be like, this guy is a no ball, But you are the whole story for them, So whatever you say, they're just gonna have to take his fact. 00:17:58 Speaker 2: Didn't shows are also doing games like did you play by play? 00:18:03 Speaker 3: Guys? 00:18:03 Speaker 4: They get played they didn't give us, So that was the thing. These other shows are doing it, but they got played by play guys for some reason, they didn't give us one. So yeah, I mean the game right before us is a show. So that Louisville Toledo game is being called by Evan Cohen and Freddie Coleman, but they got Chris Carlin to call play by play. 00:18:25 Speaker 3: We don't have anybody like. 00:18:26 Speaker 5: This feels like a set up. I'll smell a setup here. 00:18:29 Speaker 3: Maybe it is, but I'm gonna put it in their face. The thing I have to do. This is the part that's difficult for me. Ryan. 00:18:36 Speaker 4: This was the advice Tom said. He was like, go slow. He was like, it's there's a lot of time, go slow. Like I talk fast, I talk very fast. I think you're gonna hear me be a lot slower tomorrow because it'll fill up more time, right, you know what I mean? Because I don't have enough stuff to talk as fast as I normally do, so talk. 00:18:56 Speaker 2: Slow, especially like you just said, like before the play, you need to go slow sitting the other. 00:19:01 Speaker 4: That's exactly right. When I have facts about Hattiesburg and Bowling Green. The bad sign will be though, if we're halfway through the second quarter, Drew and I've used all them all, You're fat? 00:19:12 Speaker 3: Are you? 00:19:12 Speaker 9: Are? 00:19:13 Speaker 3: You? 00:19:13 Speaker 6: Do you want to close game so you have something to talk about football wise, or a blowout so you can talk about random I. 00:19:19 Speaker 3: Want a game that goes quick. That's the key. 00:19:23 Speaker 4: I think I'd rather have a blowout because then Ryan and I can just talk about others. 00:19:26 Speaker 3: Ryan, excuse me, Myron and I can just talk about other things. 00:19:28 Speaker 2: That's where you, guys, is your expertise, you know, off the cuffstock. 00:19:32 Speaker 4: I think a close game, which is important, bleeding into prime time is what is not necessarily what I'm looking for. 00:19:40 Speaker 3: What do you think about Ed Cooley throwing a water bottle. 00:19:43 Speaker 4: Into the stands at the end of the game and hitting a child. 00:19:49 Speaker 6: You shouldn't throw the bottle ever, But why is he throwing a line drive into the seats just too behind him? At least put some arch lobbit a little bit so it'll get up in the air. I mean, he just threw a missile right at the kidden hit him in the chest. I think the kid took a little bit of a dive. I think they said something about maybe a concussion. I don't think it hit him in the head. 00:20:05 Speaker 3: But they didn't say concussion, did they. 00:20:08 Speaker 6: I think I think Mom is claiming concussion on that. 00:20:11 Speaker 4: Wow. 00:20:12 Speaker 3: Wow, I didn't have that. Mom is well? So is that is that set up for a lawsuit? 00:20:18 Speaker 2: You think sounds like it if she's claiming concussion from getting hit with a water bottle like that. 00:20:24 Speaker 3: So he was on the road, right, that was a road game. 00:20:28 Speaker 2: I'm not sure where it was because they played I can't remember where they played. 00:20:33 Speaker 3: They lost Xavior. You're right. 00:20:39 Speaker 4: It was Xavior, Yes, and uh, Xavier is bad too. 00:20:44 Speaker 6: And the where that family was sitting, they were like two seats behind the bench. Is that a booster or a parent like That's that wasn't just average seats. You'd almost have to know those people loved. 00:20:53 Speaker 4: Think Wow, so he's gonna be suspended, right, You can't be throwing I think yeah, especially if it was if it was full, that could be really heavy. 00:21:05 Speaker 6: You know, yeah, was gonna land, Like there's a high probability you're hitting someone when you turn and throw it to the crowd. 00:21:13 Speaker 2: Yeah, not throw it at the ground. He threw it in the crowd, knowing is going to hit somebody. 00:21:18 Speaker 3: Really really dumb. Who's next? Ed is up next? 00:21:22 Speaker 4: Ed? 00:21:22 Speaker 3: Go ahead? 00:21:22 Speaker 8: Ed hey Man three points, first point. 00:21:29 Speaker 11: With j Lo running the offense, as long as he's healthy, I don't think we need to worry about shooters. We got plenty of good shooters. They'll get good shots if they're running the offense. Await and needs to run. 00:21:41 Speaker 4: I hope, I hope you're right about that. I think that's very possible. We need more Uh, we need more games. 00:21:48 Speaker 3: To figure it out. But go ahead, second thing. 00:21:51 Speaker 8: Yes, second point. 00:21:55 Speaker 11: Just wait till Jaden Quaintan's uh shakes off the rest. 00:21:59 Speaker 8: And gets in game shape. 00:22:01 Speaker 11: If you think you look good Saturday. 00:22:03 Speaker 4: That's true. You're exactly right about that. Ten and eight in fifteen minutes in his first game. It does make you excited about the future. What's your third. 00:22:11 Speaker 11: Matt, don't don't don't sweat doing this football game, buddy. You just be, you have fun, be you don't try to overthink it. And I gotta do this and that Just be you, Matt Jones. 00:22:23 Speaker 3: And you'll do great. That's very nice. If you thank you. 00:22:26 Speaker 4: Part of the nervousness is for the I've worked it. I'm just you know, I'm being honest. I've worked at ESPN for eight years. No one knows who I am there, and for the very first time in those eight years, there started to be conversations where like people that. 00:22:43 Speaker 3: Matter now know who I am, and. 00:22:45 Speaker 4: I think they've put us on this as like, all right, let's see what these guys can do. And that's part of what makes me nervous, because if they put us on something that's like in my talent set, I'd be like, bring it on, but they're putting us something in something that I've never done, and that really isn't in my talent set. But I feel like I need to do well because there are people paying attention to us that have never done that before. And so that's why it's a little bit nerve wracking. Just being honest. We'll take a break, be right back. It's KSR. Welcome back, Techi Sports Radio. Ed Cooley has been suspended for one game. Apparently he hit a kid Ryan that was a kid that was part of the Georgetown boosters, So that probably keeps them from getting sued, but probably also doesn't doesn't help. 00:23:42 Speaker 2: Yeah, the fact you hit a kid, regardless who the booster is, Mama ain't gonna be happy, all right. 00:23:49 Speaker 3: I don't know if I would call this, can we we can? 00:23:51 Speaker 4: This isn't breaking news, but it's probably breaking scuttle butt. Do we have a sound for breaking scuttle butt? Would you like to he ate one? 00:24:00 Speaker 10: Drew? 00:24:00 Speaker 3: What's a breaking scuttle butt sound? Why he's like is a question? Wan Nah. 00:24:16 Speaker 4: Joe Tipton of on three Sports Rights on Chaos Board that Kentucky is considering bringing in a point guard to be a backup UH mid season. Wow, And Jacob Polachick ads if it happens, it would likely be an international UH player. 00:24:38 Speaker 3: What do we think about that? 00:24:41 Speaker 6: The moment Low got hurt, I said the next day, someone should already be on a flight to Europe looking for anyone that wants to play college basketball. I know you worry about chemistry concerns, and you've got Jasper Johnson there who thinks he could be the guy. But I like the idea of trying to find help because Low, as we saw, it's just so fragile and that would de eld season if you lost him. 00:25:01 Speaker 3: So would you do that? Ryan? 00:25:03 Speaker 4: Would you bring in a person from you know, Slovenia or something. 00:25:06 Speaker 3: Halfway through the year. 00:25:08 Speaker 2: I don't know, man, that's that's that's tough to bring him in the middle of the year when you've got guys who've been battling since. 00:25:13 Speaker 3: But what do we lose? I mean, who's who's playing back up point guard? Now? 00:25:20 Speaker 2: I don't like the Denzel Aberdeen experience, but I do like the Jasper Johnson experience. I would go with him. 00:25:25 Speaker 4: You just like him, though, because you've known him since he were a kid, Like I mean, I'd say that with love to you. But what has Jasper Johnson done to show he's a backup point guard at Kentucky right now? I mean, I want Jasper Johnson to play because I like Jessper Johnson as a player, But do you really trust him. 00:25:42 Speaker 3: To run this team if Jay Lowe gets hurt. 00:25:45 Speaker 2: I trust him over anybody else. We got it this moment as the point. 00:25:48 Speaker 3: Guard is why we might want to add somebody. 00:25:51 Speaker 2: I think he's still he may be second on the team and assists in very limited minutes. He can still do that part of it as a point guard, just. 00:25:57 Speaker 4: To take let's let's maybe do uh well, but that's pretty important. Let's do let's let's let's do a vote. Would you rather have them go get an international guy or rely on Aberdeen, Chandler and Johnson going forward? 00:26:11 Speaker 6: Drew, I would say add someone, even g league. I mean the somebody was a usc Okay, well regardless, I would love a backup plan if they can get one. 00:26:25 Speaker 3: Ryan, you would say, stick with what we got. I would yes, okay, I say go get somebody. What would you say? Let's do a text machine vote here? Seven seven two seven seven four five two five four. 00:26:36 Speaker 4: Would you rather stick with what we got or try to bring in because we've got two weeks off here, try to bring in a. 00:26:43 Speaker 3: Mid a mid season guy to be the backup point guard? 00:26:48 Speaker 4: Really good question? Seven seven two seven seven four five two five four. Who's up next? 00:26:52 Speaker 3: Cadence is up next? Cadence? Go ahead, Cadence, what's up? Guys? 00:26:58 Speaker 12: I got two days a day? Al right. First thing, uh that I think you're gonna do great tomorrow. Personally, you've probably been doing this for a while, so I think you're gonna it'll just be natural when you start. And then the second thing I want to say is that we need to probably bring in an international guy because well, I think is that Jasper Johnson is a really good player. I think he I mean, we saw him play like high school and ot and all that, and he was really good. But I think that he's gonna have to take some time to develop into a point guard like we need him to be in college, so it's gonna be a different thing for him. But also if we bring in an international guy, they'll have the experience. Playing in Europe is a different animal to playing here, and so I just think it might be better for the team. 00:27:48 Speaker 4: Yeah, I appreciate it. Calin, I'd like to. I just think more options give you. I mean, I think we've given I guess I would look at it like this, Drew. We've given the Aberdeen Chandler thing about as much like it's just not working, you know. I do think there's an argument that if Low didn't come back, the next option would have been let's just go with Jasper Johnson, see what happens. 00:28:09 Speaker 3: But I don't know, man true freshman. 00:28:12 Speaker 4: This team has got so much talent in other places that I'd rather just have somebody that I thought could unlock it. 00:28:18 Speaker 6: And we got a little taste of what it could look like when everybody thought Low was done when he went to the tunnel and well they have twenty five points at halftime. I mean they were taking horrible shots. That was some of the worst offense we've seen all year, and then luckily they turned it on in the second half. But if that's what it's going to look like if you don't have Low, I just think you need another body to help out. 00:28:36 Speaker 2: Do you worry about it to just like, do you worry about it? You may lose some of the locker room if you bring in somebody new here at Christmas, these guys have been battling it. 00:28:44 Speaker 4: I mean, you're you're losing the guys that aren't playing. If you do that, r what do you take that you lose it? Like, seriously, who are you? 00:28:52 Speaker 3: Like? What happens if you do that? 00:28:55 Speaker 2: You know, like Aberdeen's minutes go down, go down. 00:29:01 Speaker 3: But none of those guys have been good. 00:29:04 Speaker 4: If they were good, we wouldn't need them. I mean, how long do we have to sit and wait for Chandler to make shots? 00:29:12 Speaker 3: Right? 00:29:12 Speaker 2: I mean the last three point shooter, the going you know, most of the season, but he. 00:29:16 Speaker 3: Wouldn't he didn't shoot. Did he shoot one against Saint John's uh? 00:29:20 Speaker 2: Oh of one? 00:29:23 Speaker 4: I don't know, man, I mean, like, it's not like we've been killed. Listen, if Jalen Lowe plays, I guess I would look at it like this. If you promised me we had Jalen low for the rest of the year, then Drew I would say, we don't need to go get anybody, but we've got to plan for the contingency that he could get hurt. 00:29:42 Speaker 6: Right, Yeah, this team has the ultimate goal that they're still trying to Reach and Chandler, Aberdeen and Johnson all had several games in the non conference against teams ranked two hundred and fiftieth to show that they can be a primary ball handler and lead the offense, and none of them really got it going in the opportunities they had so far. 00:30:01 Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, it depends on who it is. But that's a wanting nuh nah. And we'll see if it ends up having it. Who what's next? 00:30:09 Speaker 3: Rick is up next? Rick? Go ahead? 00:30:11 Speaker 13: Ricky, Sir Mary, Christmas Day? Everybody Christmas. Nobody spoke on it about the interview after the game with Lowe and JQ. JQ thanked every one of his trainers for getting him back, which I thought was awful. 00:30:29 Speaker 10: Mass Lowe finally figured out what Catalanta was. He said, he was asking in the motel, what do you mean Catalanta? He said, after this, I figured out what it is. He said, We've got the best fan base in any sport. Now, I hadn't heard nobody speak on it today, so. 00:30:49 Speaker 3: You're right, he said. Both those that, both those comments were very cool. I appreciate the call. Rick. 00:30:54 Speaker 4: It was nice that Pope brought up drew the trainers as in the post game because they had gotten both those guys back on the court and then it was it. It did feel like Low was almost like, oh, this is the UK fan base. 00:31:09 Speaker 6: Yeah, he got a nice wake up with that. And then I liked with the training staff. They like stood behind Quaintans and Low during the press conference wearing Mashing shirts almost like they were part of the entourage. It was a neat for them to get their moment because they've been getting a lot of criticism with how banged up this team's been. But they were huge and getting Quaintance ready ahead of SEC's schedule. 00:31:28 Speaker 3: Probably ninety ten Ryan to bring somebody in, and. 00:31:32 Speaker 2: I can see why they say that. I'm just I did have other worries. If they do that, it. 00:31:38 Speaker 3: Sounds like you have a worry, though a specific one. 00:31:42 Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, we just got over some locker room issues. I don't want to start some more locker room issues, you know, But. 00:31:49 Speaker 6: If we already had locker room issues, what's it hurt. We're not we're not breaking something that was already. 00:31:56 Speaker 4: I mean, but let's say we don't do it. And on January nineteenth against Mississippi State, Lows out for the year, aren't you gonna wish you had done it? 00:32:06 Speaker 2: If he's better than what we've got, it'd be hard to argue that for sure. 00:32:11 Speaker 3: Yeah. 00:32:11 Speaker 4: If I'm nine two twenty two eighty seven, I got one thing, Kentucky fans, I would I think I would like for you to do. I'm told through the grapevine that our friends at Cissy Cakes are being negatively bombed by Louisville fans on Google. 00:32:29 Speaker 5: Oh that's messed up. 00:32:30 Speaker 3: No Google on Louisville or excuse me on Google. 00:32:35 Speaker 4: Louisville fans are leaving negative reviews on cissy Cakes just to get at the fact that will Stein's the coach. 00:32:44 Speaker 3: We have to counter this, Okay, will Stein's mom, she came on the show so nice, she brought cakes to the bar. We're even considering selling cissy Cakes at the bar after Christmas and like during games and stuff. 00:32:59 Speaker 4: But more important, Google reviews can have a huge impact on people's business, especially fake ones. So I'm asking Ryan for UK fans to counter the Louisville bombing, yes with positive bombing, so that we don't allow Louisville fans to ruin the good name of the Sissy Cakes. 00:33:21 Speaker 2: I'm gonna do it during the commercial break. I'm gonna leave a very positive review for him. 00:33:25 Speaker 6: Drew, do you agree, Yes, I'm gonna leave a positive review. But this also, well we'll get it back with our reviews. But this is messed up by Louisville. This is a local business right by Trinity, which you all adore, and you're gonna try to tear them down just because will Stein took a job. Shame on all of them that have done that. 00:33:40 Speaker 4: Shame on all of them, Shame on them, shame. And I've had a cake and it was good and I don't even like cake, and I thought it was good. So yes, we're gonna fix that. Cissy Cakes and Louisville fans, you should be ashamed. I support your local Louisville businesses, even the ones that don't take not only take cash, like body and clots. 00:34:01 Speaker 3: That guy's not even. 00:34:02 Speaker 4: Nice, So will will Stein's mom is nice. 00:34:07 Speaker 3: You should be a shamed. We'll take a break. Very back, it's Kishar. 00:34:11 Speaker 14: Welcome back to Kentucky Sports Radio A five nine two eight oh twenty two eighty seven. The holidays are full of hustle and bustle, but UK Federal credit Union believes in slowing down to find the joy in the season, whether that's sharing the meal with friends, giving back to those in need, or embracing loyal loved ones. 00:34:25 Speaker 4: Be the joy around Kentucky. It's UK Credit Union, the official credit union of Joy. It is UK credit Union Membershapelle'sville required required federally ensured by nc UA. I'm told by people that on the Google reviews, you don't want to give them all at once because people then like they look at it and say that, you know, they think it can be fraudulent. So spread it out over the holiday season. Okay, So don't put them all right now, and maybe even better go get it. Or if you've had it, talk about what you've done, but don't do it all at once. They'll be less likely to consider them. 00:35:05 Speaker 6: That's what they'll they'll flag down and throw them all out. I'll wait and do mine on Christmas morning when I'm thinking. 00:35:10 Speaker 4: Wait and do years over a course of time. No reason, do it right now. Spread it over the course of the next week. You can think about it. Uh and do it. How about that you haven't done your let's make sure we do it. 00:35:23 Speaker 2: I did mine on Yelp. I haven't got to Google yet. 00:35:25 Speaker 4: Well take your time then on Google. Somebody sent me some of these these little fans are mean. 00:35:32 Speaker 3: I don't like them. 00:35:32 Speaker 2: Booh, you me tell you what I wrote here on Yelp. 00:35:38 Speaker 3: I mean, if you must. 00:35:40 Speaker 2: Yeah, Sissy cakes is awesome. They're like a five star quarterback. Their cakes are so so, so so good. It's like Walt Disney World in your mouth? I love them. You will too. 00:35:50 Speaker 3: It's like, what Walt Disney in your mouth? 00:35:53 Speaker 2: Yeah? 00:35:53 Speaker 3: Oh? 00:35:54 Speaker 2: Delete? Thats are two lades already posted? 00:35:57 Speaker 3: You did you at least put World at the end. You did just say Walt Disney. 00:36:01 Speaker 2: I said Walt Disney World. 00:36:02 Speaker 5: Yes, okay, big big word there. 00:36:05 Speaker 3: That's a big difference. First of all, just stop with your stop you. 00:36:13 Speaker 2: That's how I feel about eight. 00:36:14 Speaker 3: I just don't feel like, why do you have to say mouth. 00:36:18 Speaker 2: Because you eat in your mouth? 00:36:20 Speaker 3: But it doesn't say you drew him. 00:36:23 Speaker 4: I wrong with him. Walt Disney World in your mouth sounds gross. 00:36:27 Speaker 6: He did find a way to make a simple review of a cake shop, settle It's uncomfortable. 00:36:36 Speaker 5: That's what he does, all right. 00:36:37 Speaker 10: Uh. 00:36:38 Speaker 4: Chicago Bears made the playoffs Saturday Night. 00:36:41 Speaker 2: With how did they win that game. How in the world did they win that game? 00:36:46 Speaker 4: I don't know, but it was awesome and the past from Caleb Williams in overtime. That might be the most exciting win of my lifetime. I mean, you know they won the Super Bowl? Well, why are you laughing? What's a better one? I mean, they want the Super Bowl? But they won it like forty six to ten, Like that game wasn't closed. 00:37:04 Speaker 3: Yeah, and I was a little kid, So I can't think of a more exciting win in my lifetime. 00:37:10 Speaker 2: Well, there were down ten with like two minutes to go, and somehow that winning the game in overtime. 00:37:15 Speaker 4: Got the on side kick. He made that crazy throw in regulation where he threw off his back foot to the back of the end zone and then the bomb at the end. Wow, how could you not say? 00:37:26 Speaker 3: It was the. 00:37:27 Speaker 4: Best practicing I was practicing calling that game, and I yelled. 00:37:35 Speaker 5: With everything at stake. 00:37:37 Speaker 6: I mean, you get the on side kick, and then on that fourth down it was an all out blitz and he's back pedaling and it just makes the perfect throw to get the touchdown. I'm a neutral observer and I've really gotten into the Bears this year. They're a fun young team that I think can really contend. 00:37:51 Speaker 2: And the pack that these games. 00:37:52 Speaker 4: By the way, when I call these games, I don't know all these players on the teams, so I just give them urals. 00:37:57 Speaker 2: Names, right, might as well, so. 00:37:59 Speaker 4: I'll be like, like, you know, mateer throws to Drew Franklin six yards he got you know, like I I do that because I don't know their names. 00:38:07 Speaker 3: So you all have caught a lot of passes in the last few days. 00:38:10 Speaker 2: Yeah, how about the heaters on the Packers' sideline just happened to go out and it's seven. 00:38:14 Speaker 3: Degrees out there. Things break, okay, okay break? 00:38:19 Speaker 2: Yeah, the heater bear sideline, Packer's sideline. 00:38:22 Speaker 3: Well that that line, that that one was fixed. 00:38:25 Speaker 4: I don't think the Bears should have to be cold just because the Packers are cold. Half half people, no reason. It's not communism. We don't all have to be the same temperature. 00:38:39 Speaker 3: Who Dallas is up next? Dallas? Go ahead, Dallas? All right? 00:38:46 Speaker 15: So I just was listened to your remarks about you being nervous about your radio debut. I have a suggestion for you, if I may give it to you ignored, of course, but uh, if you are able to, you could possibly give Tom Hammond a call. I think he has quite a story about when he first called the Olympics for NBC or ABC or whoever it was, and about how he knew absolutely nothing about the sport that he was going to be calling on worldwide Olympics at that time, and then I think that would he might have some advice he might not. I don't know. 00:39:31 Speaker 3: It's a good idea. Go ahead, yeah, go ahead. 00:39:39 Speaker 15: I suggest to you that I'm only mainly a TV watcher of sports, but uh, I suggest to you that you when you're calling the game, you call the game. Nobody really cares if you or your partner played college football somewhere or whatever. They just want to hear about the game itself and the players. As That's the way I feel about it. 00:40:04 Speaker 4: So I understanding that, appreciate, appreciate the call. I uh will probably have to talk about other things because I don't know, uh enough about the actual game. 00:40:15 Speaker 3: Again, the difficulty for me is not. 00:40:18 Speaker 4: Knowing football. I think I know enough to get through it. The difficulty is literally the. 00:40:23 Speaker 3: Mechanics of calling the game. That's what makes me nervous. 00:40:27 Speaker 4: It's like it reminds me when Ryan, you start on television, it's not being entertaining. That was hard for me. It was literally reading off the teleprompter right like I had never done that before. I ended up having to just stop doing it because I wasn't good at it. 00:40:39 Speaker 2: I think maybe after a quarter you you'll settle in a little bit and find your groove and figure out what. 00:40:44 Speaker 4: You will settle in. Yeah, they'll settle in like jayaln Low did. Right, Just settle in, settle in, and then we'll start. We'll start doing our thing. DraftKings. Let's pick a couple games. Go to DraftKings dot com. Bet two five dollars uh and if you win, you'll get three hundred dollars in bonus bets. Let's start with the Fames, Idaho Potato Bowl, Washington State, and Utah State. 00:41:05 Speaker 2: Who you got Ryan, Let's go Washington State? 00:41:08 Speaker 3: Why not Washington State? What about you? 00:41:10 Speaker 6: But Drew, Let's go Washington State. I still feel bad their conference left him. They need some happiness. 00:41:16 Speaker 3: I'm gonna take Utah State. 00:41:17 Speaker 4: You know, their former coach is Blake Anderson, the current coach of Southern miss Just in case anybody. 00:41:22 Speaker 3: I mean probably everybody knew that, but now I know it. So that's good. 00:41:25 Speaker 4: Monday Night football, forty nine Ers at Colts. Old Man Rivers at home in a must win game. Drew does he win? Does the seventy eight year old quarterback get the victory? 00:41:36 Speaker 3: You know what? 00:41:36 Speaker 6: I'm so excited to watch this, and I'm a Colt hater even though it sounds crazy, I think they get the win and he looks even better than he did last week. 00:41:46 Speaker 2: Get the Colts get the win, and he throws the over whatever the over under is. He goes over. 00:41:51 Speaker 4: Forty nine Ers win by thirty and he is having he hopples off the field after getting injured in the second quarter. 00:41:59 Speaker 5: That's probably the most like I'm just. 00:42:01 Speaker 3: Telling you, I think that, unfortunately, is the most likely result. 00:42:04 Speaker 4: Tomorrow, during your Alls postgame show, I will call in from the booth because it'll be right before we're. 00:42:09 Speaker 3: Start Perfect Perfect Bellerman game is at one o'clock. The pregame show. 00:42:14 Speaker 4: Starts at ten thirty, but really just the show starts at ten. The bar will open, then we'll have breakfast. Go see those guys and enjoy the game. Have fun at RUP tomorrow, and I actually will not be back on the air until after the first of the year, so because the week after Christmas, I'm off. 00:42:33 Speaker 3: You guys, have a happy holidays. 00:42:35 Speaker 4: Merry Christmas to everybody, and thank you very much all of you in twenty twenty five for your prayers for my family.
